- 0:02Speaker 1: Cal Poly is in session. Students swarm through campus and
- 0:05Speaker 1: file in and out of classes. You're thinking about the
- 0:07Speaker 1: chapter reading they have tonight, their next class, their new dorm,
- 0:10Speaker 1: their senior project, how to get to the gym, what's
- 0:12Speaker 1: for dinner tonight? Where's in yours bathroom? Kate and I
- 0:15Speaker 1: know things can get a bit chaotic as a student
- 0:17Speaker 1: navigating the ins and outs of college life.
- 0:19Speaker 2: At cal Poly. We focus on learning by doing, but
- 0:22Speaker 2: sometimes you don't know what to do well. Emma and
- 0:25Speaker 2: I are here to answer your who, what, when, where, why?
- 0:28Speaker 2: And how's here? On CP one oh one Learned by Listening,
- 0:31Speaker 2: presented by KCPR ninety one point three.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Hi Mustang, I'm Emma Hughes, a third year English student, and.
- 0:37Speaker 2: I'm Kate Lopenski, a third year journalism student here at
- 0:40Speaker 2: cal Poly, and we're here to share our tell all
- 0:42Speaker 2: guide on how to survive and thrive at cal Poly
- 0:45Speaker 2: San Luis Obispo.
- 0:46Speaker 1: So grab a notebook. You may want to write this down.
- 0:57Speaker 2: Oh what it's time to be alive? I turned twenty
- 1:00Speaker 2: one recently on March second, and we actually celebrated Emma's
- 1:05Speaker 2: twenty first last night. Explaining the vibe that we're bringing
- 1:09Speaker 2: to the table today. Yes, so last night was so
- 1:15Speaker 2: much fun, and today we're just going to take you
- 1:17Speaker 2: through everything, and so in remembrance of our beloved Piscey
- 1:21Speaker 2: season and our best birthdays yet, I think we can
- 1:23Speaker 2: both agree on that, Yes, we're going to do a
- 1:26Speaker 2: deep dive into the famous slow tradition the bar crawl.
- 1:30Speaker 1: So first we need to explain like what the bar
- 1:35Speaker 1: crawl is and like get into our experience about like
- 1:40Speaker 1: going through living the bar crawl while it is still
- 1:43Speaker 1: fresh on our minds or as fresh as it can
- 1:46Speaker 1: be the next day.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Yeah. So personally, I had been waiting since the very
- 1:51Speaker 2: beginning of time, since since straight out the womb, since
- 1:56Speaker 2: I popped out. Yeah, I came out and was like
- 1:59Speaker 2: I need the slow bar crawl. Just kidding now, but
- 2:02Speaker 2: this was like the myth, the legend, and I was
- 2:06Speaker 2: looking forward to mind so much. And then I was
- 2:09Speaker 2: just especially excited for Emma's because yeah, I knew what
- 2:12Speaker 2: we're gonna make this episode.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Yes, and I couldn't go on Kate's because she's a
- 2:16Speaker 1: little older than me and an older woman. Yeah cougar,
- 2:21Speaker 1: but I couldn't go to the bar. So I went
- 2:23Speaker 1: to her pregame, and you know, I celebrated with her
- 2:27Speaker 1: for a short period of time and sent her off
- 2:29Speaker 1: like a loving mother watching her child go away. But
- 2:33Speaker 1: last night it was finally my turn, and Kate was
- 2:36Speaker 1: there with me every step of the.
- 2:37Speaker 2: Way, not every step. I did leave part of the
- 2:39Speaker 2: way through to go get Taco Bell, but I was
- 2:43Speaker 2: doing good at that I was like, I'm a little tiugh,
- 2:47Speaker 2: I'm gonna tap out before this gets any crazier. First,
- 2:51Speaker 2: we wanted to talk a little bit about what the
- 2:53Speaker 2: bar crawl sign was, because this is an essential part
- 2:56Speaker 2: of the experience.
- 2:58Speaker 1: There's traditions within the slow bar crawl tradition, and the
- 3:02Speaker 1: sign is one of the most important parts. Yeah.
- 3:06Speaker 2: So essentially, the sign is designed to make sure that
- 3:08Speaker 2: you're able to visit all of the most popular bars
- 3:11Speaker 2: downtown and drink some of the grossest things that you
- 3:15Speaker 2: will probably ever consume. I know that Emma has something
- 3:19Speaker 2: to say about the bullswoot shot that we're going to
- 3:21Speaker 2: get into a little bit later, but for now, like,
- 3:23Speaker 2: here's some of the different challenges that are normally included.
- 3:28Speaker 2: So one of them is tworking in bubblegum alley. I
- 3:30Speaker 2: know we both did this. Yes, although I got on
- 3:34Speaker 2: my hands for that.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Ye, she said, crawl say less.
- 3:38Speaker 2: You were polite about it.
- 3:39Speaker 1: Okay. I also had a friend. I was doing my
- 3:42Speaker 1: bark crawl with another friend who was also celebrating her
- 3:45Speaker 1: twenty first so we like twerked together. It was like
- 3:49Speaker 1: a cute little like couldn't be on our hands and
- 3:51Speaker 1: knees both like it was.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Just it was raining, y yeah, I mean, but no
- 3:56Speaker 2: matter what, gotta do your crawl what other ones? I
- 4:00Speaker 2: had to do twenty one pushups? I did that in
- 4:03Speaker 2: the line at the mark. That was really funny. I
- 4:05Speaker 2: know that you had to get twenty one pictures? Yes, people,
- 4:08Speaker 2: were you able to do that?
- 4:09Speaker 1: I have some pictures, yes, certainly. Okay, I haven't actually
- 4:13Speaker 1: counted them, but I was asking anyone and everyone like
- 4:16Speaker 1: do you want a picture? I actually ran into someone
- 4:19Speaker 1: dressed as grew from I remember that, yeahs, And I
- 4:24Speaker 1: was like, wait, can I get a picture with you?
- 4:27Speaker 1: So they were like decked down in a full bald
- 4:29Speaker 1: cap and like the scarf and everything. So I definitely
- 4:32Speaker 1: have some good pictures. No, we met some characters last night,
- 4:36Speaker 1: for sure.
- 4:36Speaker 2: People were really fun and awesome. And like, I love
- 4:39Speaker 2: the whole energy of people just wishing you happy birthday. Yes,
- 4:42Speaker 2: when you're wearing that sign, the bouncers flicking you in
- 4:46Speaker 2: the head with your ID, yeah, or stamping you on
- 4:48Speaker 2: your forehead, that's a big one. You might still be
- 4:51Speaker 2: able to see Emma's on her forehead. Yeah, that's a
- 4:54Speaker 2: tradition unfortunately. Yeah, they love embarrassing you and you get
- 4:58Speaker 2: to live with that for a little.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Yeah, but it is what it is. Write a passage
- 5:04Speaker 1: here and slow. So I actually ended up bringing my
- 5:08Speaker 1: sign today so that I could read off some of
- 5:12Speaker 1: our fun little show it to the camera.
- 5:14Speaker 2: Oo ah vodka.
- 5:18Speaker 1: My drink of choice was just Kirkland signature of vodka.
- 5:24Speaker 1: She just comes and clutch, you know, cheap, easy lover.
- 5:27Speaker 2: This was something that I didn't know about Emma before
- 5:30Speaker 2: last night, and now I know that you are a
- 5:32Speaker 2: vodka Gurley.
- 5:33Speaker 1: I am a vodka Gurley. I'm a tequila So okay,
- 5:37Speaker 1: I'm not exclusive with vodka though, like I will branch out,
- 5:42Speaker 1: you know whatever anyone wants to.
- 5:45Speaker 2: Well, you had to last night.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Yeah exactly. But apart from the drinks, which we will
- 5:51Speaker 1: get into later, I also had to get someone's number,
- 5:57Speaker 1: give someone a kiss, do the forehead stamps in the selfies.
- 6:02Speaker 1: I had to FaceTime my twenty first contact, and my
- 6:05Speaker 1: contacts are actually linked with my sister's contact because we
- 6:08Speaker 1: have the same Apple I D so I had no
- 6:10Speaker 1: idea who I FaceTime last night. Luckily they did not answer,
- 6:15Speaker 1: but yeah, and then pop a bottle, make a toast.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Also had a snack pack, which I highly recommend. We
- 6:23Speaker 1: were just carrying around cheese its all night, so use
- 6:26Speaker 1: them as a chaser, you know, just if you needed
- 6:29Speaker 1: a little pick me up throughout the night, So that
- 6:31Speaker 1: I would highly recommend. And then my last on my
- 6:35Speaker 1: checklist was to get home safe, which I really appreciated.
- 6:38Speaker 2: Another thing too, another like good challenge to have on
- 6:41Speaker 2: there is like a liquid ivy chug or a water
- 6:44Speaker 2: chug that saved me. Like that actually was a turning
- 6:48Speaker 2: point in my night. I think that I would have
- 6:50Speaker 2: been a lot worse off if I didn't do that.
- 6:53Speaker 1: So and I was also with the water the ice
- 6:57Speaker 1: that they put in it. I was just like lunching
- 6:59Speaker 1: on the ice all night because I was just like
- 7:02Speaker 1: I it just I don't know something about ice, man.
- 7:05Speaker 1: It just was my life Saver last night.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Well that helped you with the Bull Sweat, and let's
- 7:10Speaker 2: get into that now. I think it's about time.
- 7:13Speaker 1: So that was actually number one on my checklist was
- 7:17Speaker 1: to do the bull Sweat, and that was the first
- 7:21Speaker 1: place we went to. We hopped in the car after
- 7:24Speaker 1: the pregame and we're dropped right off at Bulls Tavern.
- 7:29Speaker 2: We're at our first bar of the night. This is
- 7:31Speaker 2: Bull's Tavern, Emma. How are you feeling. We're about to
- 7:34Speaker 2: get your first drink the bull Sweat? How are we doing?
- 7:37Speaker 1: I'm doing great, but I haven't had it yet, so
- 7:40Speaker 1: we'll see how this goes.
- 7:41Speaker 2: I'm excited. This one literally put me into tears, so
- 7:45Speaker 2: we'll see how she does.
- 7:47Speaker 1: First legal drink for this.
- 7:50Speaker 2: The bull Sweat shot is made of rum, tabasco and
- 7:52Speaker 2: Worcester sauce. I can never say that Worster worsh Okay, yep,
- 7:59Speaker 2: m hmm, me on that if you will. But I'm
- 8:02Speaker 2: about to like grill, Emma right now, because what you're
- 8:06Speaker 2: supposed to do is you're supposed to take the shot
- 8:09Speaker 2: and then chase it with beer so that the spice
- 8:12Speaker 2: just gets all around in your mouth and it just
- 8:14Speaker 2: makes the experience all the more miserable. I actually cried
- 8:17Speaker 2: after mine.
- 8:18Speaker 1: Did you really? Tears in my eyes? Tears were welling
- 8:22Speaker 1: in my eyes when I was like, girl, no, you
- 8:24Speaker 1: worked on your makeup. We're not doing this.
- 8:27Speaker 2: But I have a bout to pick up with you.
- 8:28Speaker 2: Because miss Emma did not drink the beer. Okay, if
- 8:32Speaker 2: I had to do it, hear me out, hear me out.
- 8:36Speaker 1: Okay. I saw my shot, and I saw the beer,
- 8:39Speaker 1: and I saw a cup of water. There was three
- 8:42Speaker 1: different cups. And I asked my other friend who went
- 8:44Speaker 1: with me, shout out to you, Sammy, who is now
- 8:46Speaker 1: getting me into trouble because I asked Sammy. I was like,
- 8:49Speaker 1: do I take the shot and then chug all that
- 8:51Speaker 1: beer and then get water or what? And She's like, no,
- 8:54Speaker 1: the beer's just there's a chaser. You can have like
- 8:56Speaker 1: a little sip and be fine. And I was like, okay, Sleigh.
- 8:59Speaker 1: So I did the shot, had a sip of beer
- 9:02Speaker 1: because I thought that's all I had to do, and
- 9:03Speaker 1: then chugged the water because that shot was the worst
- 9:07Speaker 1: thing I like have ever had to do so bad.
- 9:12Speaker 2: Meanwhile, on mine, I had like my best friend like
- 9:15Speaker 2: forcing the beer down my throat like chug chug chug,
- 9:18Speaker 2: so I had no way out of that.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Well, thank you for not doing that for me. I no,
- 9:23Speaker 1: I can't deal with you giving me shit for it now,
- 9:26Speaker 1: but nice.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Yeah, but you crushed it. You did great.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 9:30Speaker 2: Yeah, we were in and out on that one. You
- 9:33Speaker 2: did your job and then we left.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, it was a quick wham bam, thank you
- 9:36Speaker 1: ma'am at Bulls Tavern mm hmm. And from there we
- 9:40Speaker 1: went to the mark and that was where I got
- 9:45Speaker 1: my lovely little forehead stamp.
- 9:47Speaker 2: M that still has not come off, but yes, yeah,
- 9:50Speaker 2: I like to call mine my battle scars because like
- 9:51Speaker 2: I just like it doesn't come off. Yeah no, And
- 9:56Speaker 2: you can just tell, like looking around at everyone in
- 9:59Speaker 2: your classes, like who went out that weekend, because you
- 10:01Speaker 2: can see that like dark blue stamp, yeah on people's
- 10:05Speaker 2: wrists everywhere. And we thought we were being smart and
- 10:09Speaker 2: we just went to get stamps early when there was
- 10:12Speaker 2: no line, y, because that's what you do.
- 10:15Speaker 1: You get stamps and then you can come back later
- 10:17Speaker 1: in the night and pass the line, right.
- 10:19Speaker 2: Yeah, but that was not a possibility because there was
- 10:22Speaker 2: even a line later on for people with stamps and
- 10:25Speaker 2: it was just a whole ordeal. So like we did
- 10:27Speaker 2: not end up going back there, No, we did not.
- 10:30Speaker 1: But yeah, but I've heard I've heard good things.
- 10:33Speaker 2: It is really fun.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I've heard that it's one of the better places
- 10:37Speaker 1: to be.
- 10:38Speaker 2: So yeah, if you like to dance, like the Marcus
- 10:40Speaker 2: for you, it.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Was definitely like, I feel like the biggest, one of
- 10:44Speaker 1: the biggest bars. That was again a little quick stop. Okay,
- 10:48Speaker 1: next up on this crawl, this little walking tour if
- 10:51Speaker 1: you will, that we're taking you on was Buffalo, which
- 10:56Speaker 1: we actually thrived at something in the air there were
- 11:01Speaker 1: like this is the place to be.
- 11:03Speaker 2: So I was introduced to the Goblet by my friend Morgan.
- 11:08Speaker 2: Shout out to Morgan, and she got me the rainbow
- 11:11Speaker 2: Sherbert goblet and I had it and I just knew.
- 11:15Speaker 2: I just looked at him and I was like, I
- 11:16Speaker 2: need to buy this girl a goblet. I don't know
- 11:20Speaker 2: if you can hear me. Bye bye, Emma her first
- 11:22Speaker 2: goblet ever. Pray about Herbert flavor. I hope I feel
- 11:25Speaker 2: like that. So I had come over to her with
- 11:27Speaker 2: this giant just chalice.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Yes, picture me on a dance floor dancing, not a
- 11:34Speaker 1: care in the world. And then Kate like an angel
- 11:37Speaker 1: walking up to me with a halo behinder and this
- 11:41Speaker 1: giant goblet chalice cup Fi.
- 11:43Speaker 2: It's like spilling everywhere, It's all over my hands. But
- 11:47Speaker 2: pretty much a goblet is just a mix of fruit
- 11:50Speaker 2: lit curers oh my gosh, I can't say words, fruit liquor, licour,
- 11:55Speaker 2: and then like a hard alcohol like vodka, tequila, and
- 11:58Speaker 2: then just a whole can of something. Usually it's a Seltzer,
- 12:01Speaker 2: there's sometimes Red Bulls. And then what you do is
- 12:04Speaker 2: you drink all the hard alcohol first and then you
- 12:06Speaker 2: yank the can, so then all like the Seltzer or whatever,
- 12:09Speaker 2: and the can just like pours out, so it's like
- 12:11Speaker 2: you have two drinks of one and then yeah, it's
- 12:15Speaker 2: just an ongoing adventure on that one.
- 12:18Speaker 1: I love those. They're luckily they gave us two straws.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Kate and I were sipping all night and that was great.
- 12:25Speaker 1: But yeah, when we pulled the can out and a
- 12:28Speaker 1: whole nother drink, I was like, girl, I can't do it.
- 12:32Speaker 1: So I passed that off to Kate for sure.
- 12:35Speaker 2: But I pulled the assist on that lab and the
- 12:38Speaker 2: DJ was killing it last night all of the back.
- 12:41Speaker 1: And like actually putting in the work. Like it wasn't
- 12:44Speaker 1: just song song song, it was like remix and like
- 12:47Speaker 1: I don't know any technical DJ terms, but he was
- 12:50Speaker 1: doing stuff. Hm.
- 12:51Speaker 2: No, his transitions were clean. He definitely picked up on
- 12:55Speaker 2: the energy of the crowd, Like if everyone wasn't vibing
- 12:58Speaker 2: with the song, he just transitioned to the night. One
- 13:01Speaker 2: man knew what he was doing and we appreciated it. Yes,
- 13:04Speaker 2: So then yeah, afterward, we mosied all over to the
- 13:07Speaker 2: library where Emma had her statue of liberty.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Statue of Liberty is three shots shots one that's red,
- 13:17Speaker 1: one that's white, and one that's blue, and you just
- 13:20Speaker 1: got to pound it back.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Which is actually very easy.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Yes for us. Yeah, I will say I have a
- 13:29Speaker 1: friend who like struggled through hers. But I think you
- 13:32Speaker 1: kind of have to like pick at what point in
- 13:35Speaker 1: the night you're taking this one because it is three drinks.
- 13:39Speaker 1: So it was still early on for me, Like I'm
- 13:44Speaker 1: kind of a heavyweight, so I was like, this is
- 13:47Speaker 1: a good time to get some shots in me, and
- 13:50Speaker 1: you know, it was fun. It was very fun. It
- 13:52Speaker 1: went on easy.
- 13:53Speaker 2: So okay, so we have just exited the library where
- 13:57Speaker 2: Emma did her statue of Liberty.
- 14:00Speaker 1: It was so good. It was actually easier than I thought, no,
- 14:03Speaker 1: because it's for the corpse, so it's like super easy.
- 14:06Speaker 2: And the music was really fun. Okay, we can hear
- 14:09Speaker 2: it right now. Emma, how are you feeling. We're up,
- 14:12Speaker 2: been halfway through. How are you doing.
- 14:14Speaker 1: I'm actually doing surprisingly well, Like I have two more
- 14:17Speaker 1: drinks to go, and I'm doing well.
- 14:20Speaker 2: Honestly, I think I'm doing worse than you are. So
- 14:23Speaker 2: this is super fun. Heavyweight meat lightweight. Yeah. Yeah, you're
- 14:29Speaker 2: just starting a lot about us right now. Copy Thursday,
- 14:33Speaker 2: Happy Bark all day. It's been a great night, and
- 14:36Speaker 2: Emma's doing so well. And we met the nicest gruel
- 14:41Speaker 2: in the bathroom who bought Emma and I drinks. It
- 14:45Speaker 2: was she deserves a special shot. Yeah, yeah, that was
- 14:49Speaker 2: very fun. We got white tea shots. I was very
- 14:51Speaker 2: happy that she recommended that one. I knew you were
- 14:54Speaker 2: gonna like that one.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Yeah, it was very good. I was impressed, and I
- 14:58Speaker 1: was like so appreciative because she just like saw us
- 15:01Speaker 1: in the bathroom. We talk, you know, girlies in the
- 15:03Speaker 1: bathroom doing their thing, and she's like, I'm gonna buy
- 15:06Speaker 1: you a shot and I was like bet, and she did.
- 15:08Speaker 2: I helped to return the favor someday.
- 15:10Speaker 1: Yes, her friend, she said, is going on a bar
- 15:13Speaker 1: crawl next week, and I told her I will see
- 15:16Speaker 1: her there and I will buy her a drink. So okay.
- 15:19Speaker 2: And then after that, I said child for now, and
- 15:24Speaker 2: I went on my marry way to Taco Bell with Emily.
- 15:28Speaker 2: I need to give her a shout out on her
- 15:29Speaker 2: here as well, because she was like, do you need
- 15:32Speaker 2: to ride back? I'm like yes and food. So we
- 15:35Speaker 2: all Taco Bell and it absolutely hit. But you went
- 15:37Speaker 2: to the barcade and I have a funny story for
- 15:40Speaker 2: this one.
- 15:41Speaker 1: Well, guess who I saw at the barcade None other
- 15:45Speaker 1: than our lovely editor Ashley. So that was like a
- 15:50Speaker 1: fun little surprise. I was like, hey girl, and I
- 15:52Speaker 1: knew she's gonna be there, and so we took a
- 15:55Speaker 1: sound bite and got some good clips for you with
- 16:01Speaker 1: Emma Hughes.
- 16:02Speaker 2: And where are we right now? Emma the arcade bar.
- 16:06Speaker 1: Yes, we are at the arcade bar and it's called
- 16:08Speaker 1: barcade And why are we here tonight my bar cral?
- 16:13Speaker 2: Yes?
- 16:14Speaker 1: How are we feeling tonight? Emma? So good, so good.
- 16:19Speaker 2: Let's elaborate scale of one to ten.
- 16:22Speaker 1: Nine for sure three words describe your barcol so fucking
- 16:28Speaker 1: at BIC And they do not serve hard alcohol, which
- 16:32Speaker 1: was a disappointment because we were about to get frisky
- 16:35Speaker 1: and do our blowjob shot. But no, no, no, because
- 16:40Speaker 1: no heart alcohol there. So we just chatted and hung out.
- 16:43Speaker 1: And I will say despite not serving hard alcohol, it
- 16:47Speaker 1: was definitely a fun vibe because you have all the games.
- 16:50Speaker 1: I think they have pool tables and stuff. So yeah,
- 16:53Speaker 1: definitely a cool place to check out. Yeah, I've only
- 16:56Speaker 1: been there just to use the arcade games.
- 16:58Speaker 2: I've never been when the bar was open, so I
- 17:00Speaker 2: would be so down to go back and grab a
- 17:03Speaker 2: beer and hang out.
- 17:04Speaker 1: Yes, totally. And then after that we went to McCarthy's,
- 17:10Speaker 1: which was Ashley's recommendation. However, bone to pick looking at yeah,
- 17:16Speaker 1: looking at you, pointed eyes because I went there and
- 17:21Speaker 1: I had like two more drinks that I had to
- 17:24Speaker 1: cross off on my list, which was the AMF Audios
- 17:27Speaker 1: Motherfuckers and the blowjob shot, and I asked, I was like, hey,
- 17:32Speaker 1: can I get an AMF And the bartender was like, no,
- 17:35Speaker 1: we don't serve those, and I was like, Okay, can
- 17:37Speaker 1: I get a blowjob? And he's like, no, I've done
- 17:39Speaker 1: too many of those night. You're asking for all the
- 17:40Speaker 1: wrong things, Darling, And I was like no, Arlyn God.
- 17:43Speaker 1: I was like, first of all, you don't know me
- 17:45Speaker 1: like that for me, calm down, and I just I
- 17:49Speaker 1: felt so sad couldn't get my alcohol. I was like, Ashley,
- 17:53Speaker 1: what the heck? Like you led me astray, like I
- 17:55Speaker 1: came here. But I think they were just really busy.
- 18:00Speaker 1: There was a ton of people there and it was
- 18:03Speaker 1: like crazy chaotic. So we ended up moving on quickly
- 18:06Speaker 1: after that. I will probably give them a second chance.
- 18:09Speaker 2: Well, yes, we can all go on a CP one
- 18:11Speaker 2: on one field trip and yes work related. Yes, yeah,
- 18:17Speaker 2: I've never been so that would be good. Yes, we
- 18:20Speaker 2: will check that one out again at a better time.
- 18:22Speaker 2: But we ended up closing the night out at mcclin talks,
- 18:28Speaker 2: and there I actually did get to complete my AMF
- 18:32Speaker 2: and my blowjob shot.
- 18:35Speaker 1: Kate, do you want to explain what those drinks are? So?
- 18:38Speaker 2: The AMF is where you say audios and you are
- 18:42Speaker 2: done for. It is a mixture of vodka, rum, tequila,
- 18:46Speaker 2: blue curse ol, sweet and sour and then sprite or
- 18:49Speaker 2: seven up, so as you best believe there's a lot
- 18:53Speaker 2: going on in.
- 18:54Speaker 1: That yes, which again you have to time it right.
- 18:59Speaker 1: I did that to our It's the end of my
- 19:01Speaker 1: night because I was like, if it truly does get
- 19:04Speaker 1: me fucked up, I am ready to go home. I've
- 19:06Speaker 1: done like everything else on my list. Yeah, so I
- 19:10Speaker 1: was like, this will be like the home stretch, final push,
- 19:14Speaker 1: final surge of like whoo, I'm having a fun bar time,
- 19:17Speaker 1: you know. But yeah, and then after that was the
- 19:22Speaker 1: blowjob shot, which.
- 19:24Speaker 2: Is that's Khalua Bailey's with whip cream on top, and
- 19:27Speaker 2: were you able to successfully complete your blow job shot?
- 19:31Speaker 2: I was, oh, my gosh, so my protty right now.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Yeah, I like I was surprised because I watched video
- 19:39Speaker 1: of you doing yours and I was like, oh no,
- 19:43Speaker 1: I don't know if I'll be able to do it.
- 19:47Speaker 1: But we sat my friend Claire up on the bar,
- 19:49Speaker 1: put the shot right where we wanted it, and I
- 19:54Speaker 1: like licked the whip cream off and I was like, slay,
- 19:57Speaker 1: this is good. And then I just like I don't
- 20:00Speaker 1: even know how it happened, but I got the cup
- 20:03Speaker 1: in my mouth, took the shot. I was scared for
- 20:05Speaker 1: a moment too, because I was like, this is a
- 20:07Speaker 1: lot of liquid and I don't know how, like how
- 20:11Speaker 1: to take the cup out and swallow and like, yeah, yeah,
- 20:14Speaker 1: it's a whole process. And I did it though my
- 20:19Speaker 1: friend Claire I went after her, so I or no,
- 20:22Speaker 1: I went before her, so I did it and then
- 20:24Speaker 1: I had to crawl up on the bar and then
- 20:27Speaker 1: put the shot there and she just spilled her drink
- 20:30Speaker 1: all over. Yeah.
- 20:31Speaker 2: I feel like that's the norm. I did the same thing.
- 20:34Speaker 2: I was not able to do it. You're I think
- 20:37Speaker 2: the only person I've ever heard of that's been able
- 20:40Speaker 2: to successful.
- 20:40Speaker 1: I hate that. I think there's video evidence prove. But
- 20:45Speaker 1: but yeah, so it was actually pretty decent. I think
- 20:48Speaker 1: that was my last drink of the night.
- 20:52Speaker 2: That's a good way to end it, not too.
- 20:54Speaker 1: Yeah, too bad, well because I had the amf as
- 20:58Speaker 1: like a little precursor and exactly one final little shot
- 21:02Speaker 1: to take. But yeah, so those were the drinks.
- 21:07Speaker 2: Yeah, that was all you. You didn't make it to Frog
- 21:10Speaker 2: and Peach, which is one of my favorites, so I
- 21:12Speaker 2: want to talk about that for a quick second.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Please do.
- 21:14Speaker 2: It's super fun. There's always live music there is a
- 21:17Speaker 2: long line. Usually that's why you didn't go. Yeah, because
- 21:20Speaker 2: it was cold and wet outside, so that's not the vibe.
- 21:23Speaker 2: But I really like going there and I cannot wait
- 21:27Speaker 2: to go back again.
- 21:28Speaker 1: We also never went to Mother's Tavern.
- 21:31Speaker 2: Because it was closed last okay, yes my tap, Yeah,
- 21:34Speaker 2: that's where I did my blow job shot and it
- 21:37Speaker 2: is fun in there.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Okay, I didn't.
- 21:40Speaker 2: I don't think I went on like a great night.
- 21:42Speaker 2: It wasn't my favorite, but I would go back.
- 21:45Speaker 1: Okay. So we have like a list of things we
- 21:47Speaker 1: still need to do exactly. We did a lot, but
- 21:50Speaker 1: there's still plenty more out there for us to try.
- 21:53Speaker 2: We're still spring Chickens through the Bar really are, so
- 21:56Speaker 2: we have all the time on our hands.
- 21:59Speaker 1: That being said, there are some things I wanted to
- 22:03Speaker 1: touch on to plug another episode. We have our how
- 22:06Speaker 1: to Party at Polly, where we talk about you know,
- 22:09Speaker 1: frat parties, house parties, things like that. The bars are
- 22:13Speaker 1: a lot in a lot of ways similar but also
- 22:16Speaker 1: quite different, so I kind of wanted to talk about
- 22:19Speaker 1: that a little bit. First of all, alcohol, Yeah, it's
- 22:24Speaker 1: right there, you order it, you have whatever you want,
- 22:28Speaker 1: and it's good drinks but it's expensive. But it's expensive.
- 22:32Speaker 1: So things to consider when going out, like obviously money
- 22:36Speaker 1: with you, but plan your night accordingly and like what
- 22:39Speaker 1: you're gonna drink and how much you're gonna drink and
- 22:43Speaker 1: budget that out and like again Kate and I shared drinks.
- 22:47Speaker 1: The Goblet still very new, but the Goblet, there's ways
- 22:52Speaker 1: to go about it to make it not as expensive.
- 22:55Speaker 1: So last night for bar crawl, just wanted to say
- 22:58Speaker 1: me and my friend were dress because it was like
- 23:02Speaker 1: our night, like we go walls to the wall, do whatever.
- 23:05Speaker 1: But I'm curious about what you typically wear too, barter crawls.
- 23:09Speaker 2: Okay, so my best advice is to have a stable jacket. Okay, yeah,
- 23:15Speaker 2: I wear my lother jacket every single time.
- 23:17Speaker 1: I go out.
- 23:18Speaker 2: It was raining last night, yes, so and it is
- 23:20Speaker 2: acceptable to wear a jacket to the bars, which keeps
- 23:24Speaker 2: you a different than other different than other parties, which
- 23:27Speaker 2: is great. And then you can wear whatever you want really,
- 23:31Speaker 2: I mean usually it's like jeans and like a cute
- 23:34Speaker 2: top or something like that.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Boat shoes I know we talked about, like the are
- 23:39Speaker 1: like party shoes like frat shoes.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Yeah, you don't want to, you don't want to do
- 23:43Speaker 2: your frat shoes for Yeah, I usually do like a
- 23:47Speaker 2: nicer sneaker or boots or something like that.
- 23:49Speaker 1: And then what are the best nights to go because Thursday,
- 23:52Speaker 1: I know it was busy last night.
- 23:53Speaker 2: Yeah, Thursdays are probably the better, like one of the
- 23:57Speaker 2: better nights to go for students, just because like it's
- 24:00Speaker 2: just fun running into people, right. And then I don't
- 24:04Speaker 2: even know, I feel like Fridays are decent and then
- 24:07Speaker 2: Saturdays are like, eh, not really Yeah.
- 24:10Speaker 1: And they don't have cover charges during the week but
- 24:13Speaker 1: on wendays.
- 24:13Speaker 2: Yeah, oh yeah. When I went to Frog and Peach
- 24:16Speaker 2: on the weekend, it was like a little cover charge,
- 24:19Speaker 2: but that was because there was live music. Yeah, and
- 24:21Speaker 2: that was on a Saturday.
- 24:22Speaker 1: So and then as far as planning goes, just make
- 24:26Speaker 1: sure that you have friends, you're going with people, and
- 24:30Speaker 1: you know how to get home exactly.
- 24:33Speaker 2: Yeah, make sure that when you're on your barkral you
- 24:36Speaker 2: have someone to go home with you, like a roommate
- 24:40Speaker 2: or a friend, just to make sure that you get
- 24:42Speaker 2: home safe and that you get in your pajamas, brush
- 24:45Speaker 2: your teeth, you know, whatever you need help with.
- 24:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I had a friend last night who was staying
- 24:51Speaker 1: primarily sober so that she could. I mean, of course,
- 24:55Speaker 1: last night was because of the bar crawl, Like me
- 24:58Speaker 1: and my friend were planning on getting pretty drunk. But yeah,
- 25:02Speaker 1: it's always good to have people who you trust around
- 25:05Speaker 1: you so that you know how at home and you
- 25:08Speaker 1: know that everything's good. We did have a fiasco where
- 25:10Speaker 1: my friend left her phone in the uber after being
- 25:12Speaker 1: dropped off. Oh no, and yeah, I was like, I
- 25:17Speaker 1: was at home and like feeling fine last night and
- 25:19Speaker 1: I get a text saying that she left her phone
- 25:21Speaker 1: in the uber and I was like, but we got
- 25:24Speaker 1: it back, so all good.
- 25:25Speaker 2: There happens to the best of us. It is okay,
- 25:31Speaker 2: Emma and I love hosting CP one on one and
