French student union urges high school students to keep protesting

A French student union is urging high school students to continue barricading their schools and taking part in street protests, despite new government proposals. The measures include a four-billion-euro loan to regional authorities for school repairs, more teaching posts, and class-size limits of 28 for 15-year-olds in their first year of high school at schools in the lowest-income areas. The limit is to extend to all high schools next year. The government also plans to review the baccalaureate system and replace the Parcoursup university application platform with a new system in 2028.
