- 0:17[SPEAKER_00]: Can I put on a zebra shirt and just go out there?
- 0:19[SPEAKER_00]: Scratch, claw, up against the wall.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_02]: Can't explain it while I'm feeling right now, guys.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_00]: I can't believe it.

- 1:00[SPEAKER_01]: Hello, everybody.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_01]: I didn't even do the stuff that time.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_01]: You didn't even do the stuff that time.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_00]: You didn't even do the stuff that time.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_00]: You didn't let me redeem myself.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_00]: I know.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_00]: I think we need to, you need to redeem.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_01]: As always, you can email us at rate of Troy and fans at a comment or phone number eight one eight six four three seven two two seven and second one.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_01]: I'm your host, Michael Casillo, journal, Michael hosts in the range for Studio Los Angeles.
- 1:20[SPEAKER_01]: I'll listen there at all.
- 1:22[SPEAKER_00]: Hello, everybody.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_01]: Well, we are, so just a little inside base.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_01]: Well, we have not recorded in six months, which is brutal.
- 1:31[SPEAKER_01]: And we, six months, it is, it's five and a half months.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_03]: Oh my God.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm doing this now in a room that is so ungodly hot that my glasses are fogging.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_01]: We, and it looked like a crazy person.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_00]: We have like a little air conditioner unit in this room.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: It was running.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_00]: for like two hours before we started recording to try and at lowest at lowest coolness to try and get this room as cool as possible so that when we turned it off for hashtag audio that it would be fine and it lasted probably 30 seconds before the the temperature started jacking back up so yes great in the chat says we are so back we are so back we are so
- 2:23[SPEAKER_01]: Um, Ron Mertis has got to be missed you.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_00]: We missed you guys.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_00]: We missed you guys too.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_01]: We missed you guys.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_01]: Um, so I first of all, I am this is the most self-conscious of ever been in my life with my glasses off of them.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: Can't you like wipe them?
- 2:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and then it'll just come back.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_00]: Do you do want the little the my little cookie my chocolate chip cookie glasses wipe?
- 2:46[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, no.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_01]: uh... how are Jesse and badger says realm ready uh...
- 2:54[SPEAKER_01]: Good, they're both in their crates right now.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_01]: We, I was thinking about this earlier.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_01]: I think we should be able to have Jesse and Badger Cam.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think we'll, we have to set Jesse's cam back up.
- 3:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 3:10[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, we should have, we will have Jesse and Badger Cam in this new setup because we have cameras for both of their crates and they are in their crates in this room.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_00]: And I think we should now that Badger, Badger is,
- 3:25[SPEAKER_00]: No longer a puppy.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: He's an adolescent.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and has now settled in his crate and should not bark while we were doing this.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: I say while knocking on wood I think we'll be fine.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_01]: I think we'll be good.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think we'll be fine Jessica in the chat says your hesitation gave me a heart attack
- 3:48[SPEAKER_01]: I threaten Badger every day.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: Badger gets threatened to get taken to the Carson Animal Shelter on a nightly basis by Michael.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_00]: He's out of control.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_00]: No, he's much better than he was.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_00]: He's better than he was.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_00]: He settled down, but he has decided that the TV is anything that's on the TV must be scared away.
- 4:11[SPEAKER_00]: And it's actually kind of funny because the house we moved into, the TV is sitting on the wall that is what would we call like in between the living room and the kitchen.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_00]: So he will see something in on the TV and start barking and run around into the kitchen because he thinks that it's there.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_00]: It's very, very cute if not for the obnoxious barking, but he's he's very much settling down is what I will say and he is my baby and I love him and I love Jesse and she is happy at the new house she gets to go outside and
- 4:51[SPEAKER_00]: look at squirrels to her heart to let hurts the light through the little gap in the fence and ignore everything else except for the little sliver of potential squirrel that she gets to stare at for hours and that makes her very happy and so I'm happy for her.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_01]: So if you missed what was going on, we moved in with some family, doing some family stuff, we sent some family health things going on.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_01]: And so we are tackling that.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_01]: Um, and certainly needed to step away just because a bunch of stuff was, how stuff was having to happen.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_01]: We had to move.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_01]: We had to.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_00]: We, we stepped away originally because we knew moving was just going to be a mess.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_00]: Moving was three times the mess that that we anticipated, uh, and it took three times as long to get into a state of normal C. Um,
- 5:53[SPEAKER_00]: In the meantime, I was going through a very unexpected health situation that is, I'm good, I am diagnosed, we love diagnoses, I am taking care of myself and life and back to functionality, which is very nice, but for a while there, I was not quite functional.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_00]: took a little while to get taken care of.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_00]: We were dealing with obviously the move, dealing with family care, and then do you want to tell the story of the hard drive, Michael?
- 6:36[SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah, we lost their hard drive.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_01]: We didn't lose it.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_01]: Our hard drive was was like corrupted.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_01]: We couldn't access it.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_00]: the hard drive in which we keep all of the assets for the podcast so all the graphics all of the music all of the old episodes everything like is on that hard drive and it was inaccessible and we had to figure out how to deal with that.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, which involves like having the I'm in a completely talk out of my ass here but having the the folder tree
- 7:18[SPEAKER_01]: We configured, I don't know, right?
- 7:20[SPEAKER_00]: We had to fish out an old work laptop that was running, that had an old version of whatever Mac OS or was at PC.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: It whatever it was, it was an old version so that we could do the thing that would allow us to use the software that would allow us to fix the hard drive.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_00]: So it fixed the hard drive.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_00]: And then went to start, went to record.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_00]: And that is when the software that we used to record,
- 7:46[SPEAKER_00]: went but Anna crazy stupid face.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_00]: And so that was scuttled.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_00]: And then the world cup started and to be quite honest,
- 7:59[SPEAKER_00]: My and your entire life since the world cup started has revolved around watching the world cup games But it's over now.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_00]: They were a cup of silver.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_00]: It's a few weeks a few glorious few weeks We had like four games every day.
- 8:11[SPEAKER_00]: Well, then it stopped happening.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_00]: Like the world can't just send it Which I still don't understand why yeah the world cups over guys.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_00]: It's over.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah
- 8:21[SPEAKER_00]: but so yeah now we're back we're back and took us a while we apologize thank you everybody who sent us messages asking us when we would come becoming back thank you everybody who has been missing us and letting us know that you've been missing us because it means a lot because you know this is a labor of love we talk about that all the time like this is not something that we're necessarily like profiting off of we do it because we love it and we love you guys and it is always great to
- 8:49[SPEAKER_01]: It's always just great for tear from you guys into here that we are, you like us, you're really like us, allegedly, allegedly, they like you, they don't like me, yeah, they definitely, that's the only reason anybody watches is for exactly, yes, anyways, I think it's the perfect time for us to be back because it's July, this is when we every single year we have that conversation,
- 9:14[SPEAKER_01]: is it football season?
- 9:15[SPEAKER_01]: What is the start of football season?
- 9:18[SPEAKER_01]: Is the start of football season when the drum majors sword goes into the turf in week zero this year?
- 9:27[SPEAKER_01]: Right before the game is that when football season starts?
- 9:30[SPEAKER_01]: Is it when the ball is kicked off?
- 9:32[SPEAKER_01]: Is it when the when game week starts?
- 9:38[SPEAKER_01]: is it when the little league world series is over?
- 9:43[SPEAKER_01]: That's one that I've heard on like Reddit.
- 9:45[SPEAKER_01]: People say that that's how you know it's what Paul sees when the little league world series is over.
- 9:50[SPEAKER_01]: When it is, is it when big brother is back?
- 9:53[SPEAKER_01]: Is it when love island is over?
- 9:55[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 9:56[SPEAKER_01]: Like when, when is it?
- 9:59[SPEAKER_01]: Is it when, mean you days are, have begun?
- 10:03[SPEAKER_01]: I think all of those things could apply.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_01]: We've always talked about media days being the sort of the unofficial starts of college football season, I believe.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_01]: There should be some sort of media days next week.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_01]: Is there anything going on this week?
- 10:19[SPEAKER_01]: Like in some other conference, is the big 12th this week?
- 10:25[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, sorry, the monster energy big 12th.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: You don't know, it must have been because that's why that got announced, right?
- 10:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_00]: So, let's see ACC, Mountain West, Sunbelt, or the 15th of the 16th big 12th.
- 10:45[SPEAKER_00]: All this is to say.
- 10:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, they did meet it.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_00]: Big 12 media days.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_00]: So big 12 media days.
- 10:51[SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, monster energy.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_00]: Big 12.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_01]: Big 12 media days kicked off, which means football season truly upon us unofficially.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_01]: We, this has probably been the offseason in which both of us have been the least in tune with the goings on, the going ons going on.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_00]: This is the least amount of attention I've ever paid to spring camp.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_01]: To the point where I just saw a TikTok the other day about how SC is wearing a stripe in practice.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I did see that.
- 11:28[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, when did I miss this?
- 11:31[SPEAKER_00]: Because you also miss the U.S.E.S.ID reaching out to everybody to inform them that all of these new uniform things are not uniform things, because they were wearing the striping practice and then at U.S.E.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_00]: media day, where they were taking all the pictures or whatever, they were wearing white pants.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_00]: with a stripe, which is the practice pants if I'm not mistaken.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_00]: And everyone thought it was like, oh, is this like a alternate situation?
- 12:05[SPEAKER_00]: All whites?
- 12:06[SPEAKER_00]: And USC was very quick to shut that all down.
- 12:09[SPEAKER_00]: Which, by the way, I'm gonna be honest.
- 12:14[SPEAKER_01]: I kinda didn't hate it.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I have thoughts about the white pants.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_01]: I think the white pants are a good idea.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_01]: In theory.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_01]: I think that when UCLA came out with white pants in the mora era, I think it was a good idea in theory.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_01]: And then it happened and I thought they were terrible.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_01]: Well, Michigan's white pants.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_01]: I go back and forth on hating them or digging them on a weekly basis, but it's not
- 12:50[SPEAKER_01]: it's not a for sure net gain there.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_01]: I think that like if you're going to do all white you have to like truly do all white or commit to it.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_01]: I do think that there'd be a way that if they had I think my honest way to do so
- 13:09[SPEAKER_01]: sort of an all-white thing is doing an all-white jersey that it would end up looking like Alabama's jersey to be quite honest without stripes or crescence or anything like that on the jersey itself because that is what S.C. War in the 60s.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_01]: You go back and look at like old videos of like Oranthal running through the line.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_01]: And he's wearing a completely plain white jersey with cardinal numbers and a completely plain cardinal helmet and he's wearing gold pants with two cardinal stripes.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_01]: That would be very boring and plain-looking, but I wouldn't be opposed to that as sort of an alternate look.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_00]: I think we've spent so much time talking about black jerseys that I think we haven't given all whites a enough of a think, and I think some of the mock-ups I've seen of an all-white, including white helmets where you're just doing gold accents.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_00]: I think it could work if you were going to
- 14:18[SPEAKER_00]: do an alternate.
- 14:19[SPEAKER_00]: I would rather do the alternate that is at least different because the thing is that you will never improve upon USC's jerseys with an alternate.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_00]: So do something that is that sort of
- 14:35[SPEAKER_00]: is a little bit different, isn't too crazy, but at least gives you something, something shaken up a little bit without like doing what a lot of other alternates do every, every year.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_00]: So I could live with all whites, the speed with which USC shut down tells me that's not happening and that they have no plans to do alternates at any point, but you know,
- 15:05[SPEAKER_01]: Wait, where would you be on white helmets?
- 15:07[SPEAKER_00]: I could do white helmets, but you have to go all white and you just do the I don't think you have to go all white No, what would you do?
- 15:17[SPEAKER_01]: I Like if it was truly up to me.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you could go all white obviously, but like I think you you could just go white shells
- 15:28[SPEAKER_01]: Cardinal, head, decal, Trojan head.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_00]: See, I was thinking of the old decal.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_00]: I mean you could so that the whole like if you're doing white it's it's white with gold accents so everything It's basically you're just dying like doing what they did with the bad black jerseys that they sell in the bookstore But doing that in white, which I think would work better, but then I would I would go with with the gray face mask with the speckle of gold in there, which is What I what I love.
- 16:02[SPEAKER_01]: I love gray face mask.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_01]: I'm the weirdo that does
- 16:04[SPEAKER_00]: Minecraft flip, great face masks, but I think that you just go, maybe you go gold face masks.
- 16:10[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, I hate y'all, or gold face masks.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_01]: It is the bane of my existence.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_01]: Since I was a child, I've always thought that those looked low-brow and high school to me.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_01]: Part of that could just be because that's what the God forsaken to Peter Pirates where is, is, is, is,
- 16:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yellow face mask.
- 16:32[SPEAKER_00]: I will say I don't want yellow.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_00]: I think when I say gold.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_00]: I think it doesn't That's the problem.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_00]: It can't be the gold that USC currently uses.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_00]: It needs to be like a gold and just by saying yes.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, no, no, no, I'm not saying like I'm not against USC's current gold.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_00]: I'm saying for this concept.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_00]: The concept that I've seen is a gold that is again and this is why it will just not be done is the gold that's more like what Notre Dame does.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_00]: Not the brownish gold,
- 17:01[SPEAKER_01]: That's not in S.C. style.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_01]: I know, so they're not going to do it.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, absolutely not.
- 17:09[SPEAKER_00]: Either way, I'm also skeptical of white outs because you have to win the game that you wear them in because otherwise it's like, are you with or what flag kind of thing?
- 17:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 17:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and Grant and the chat said, I hate all white uniforms too much surrender whites.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_01]: Discours and it's the same with black jerseys.
- 17:35[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you were in black to your own funeral Yeah, there's a probably that kind of thing or you know or Yeah, they're surrender whites But it's also oh, they're they're stormtrooper uniforms and they're cool because they're stormtroopers or they're cool because it's a black like Oh, how you frame this is truly how your opinion is about white and black jerseys
- 17:58[SPEAKER_01]: I'm of the mindset that I think that S.E.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_01]: could play around with things, but it should still be historical in nature.
- 18:06[SPEAKER_01]: And I would be fine with fallbacks.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_01]: You want fallbacks, sir?
- 18:14[SPEAKER_00]: Well, isn't that what the Robinson Stripes are?
- 18:17[SPEAKER_01]: No, those are throwbacks.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_00]: What's a fallback?
- 18:20[SPEAKER_01]: A fallback is like, okay.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_01]: Prime example of a of a foe back would be if you're an expansion team and you are wearing Retro 70s looking jerseys for a throwback night over 70s night or whatever and you didn't exist in the 70s But you're wearing what like you could have theoretically worn
- 18:46[SPEAKER_01]: in the seventies.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 18:49[SPEAKER_01]: And so when I say what I say faux backs, but what I truly mean is like something that is still classic in nature, even if it wasn't 100% his story, like, you know, I don't want SC to have a jersey that ends up looking like boycy state, or
- 19:09[SPEAKER_01]: Oregon, I know everyone is going to throw a organ out there, but like the teams that have 9 million combinations and they're very modern and cheek and all those things, I see doesn't need to do that, but I do think that like the Michigan route is the way to go, where like you have throwbacks that are either identical to for something that you wore in the 70s or the 80s or the 60s or whatever, or it's just like it's a version of those,
- 19:35[SPEAKER_01]: that, like Michigan with the, with the blue pants, right?
- 19:39[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think they were the blue pants ever before.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_01]: I, I'm sure there's a really absurdly long Michigan Wikipedia page that will explain that I'm wrong or whatever, but like, you know what I mean?
- 19:53[SPEAKER_01]: Like something that they, SC theoretically could have worn, but didn't wear, but still is classic in nature.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_01]: That's what I mean by a faux back.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, but I still wouldn't want just like a plain white like it like I wouldn't I wouldn't want I don't know I don't know I would rather see a play on the current uniform in terms of color than Go funky with like different
- 20:27[SPEAKER_00]: classic design.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_00]: Like I just like my brain just went to like the diamonds that they used to you put on the argyle stuff.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the argyle stuff.
- 20:36[SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't be opposed to argyle, but the problem is I hate the North Carolina argyle stuff and that's part of their aesthetic and I know that people love that for them, but
- 20:49[SPEAKER_01]: I want the R guy on the end zones.
- 20:51[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want the R guy on this early on the uniform.
- 20:53[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but like if I'm thinking of like uniform things that are in line with what USC, like a full back kind of thing, like that is the route I would go.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't, I don't want that.
- 21:07[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah.
- 21:08[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 21:10[SPEAKER_01]: All right, we are back.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_01]: And that means that we're apparently getting super chats already.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_01]: Um, show them from beautiful Austin, Texas.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_01]: Two years.
- 21:27[SPEAKER_01]: Definitely just water.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I've missed both of you.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, what you thought of how the defense is coming along.
- 21:32[SPEAKER_01]: Are we still in trouble with the safeties?
- 21:35[SPEAKER_01]: Unless you got thoughts?
- 21:38[SPEAKER_00]: Um, my thoughts are, um, and we're going to do like a, a proper,
- 21:45[SPEAKER_00]: look back at what we missed from Spring Camp and where USC sits going in a fall camp and all of that kind of stuff so we'll get into like the the the the nitty gritty on positions and stuff like that.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_00]: I think that.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_00]: One thing that I feel a little bit more strongly about with the defense in general.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_00]: is the more I think about Gary Patterson as the defensive coordinator, the more I like it, especially when it comes to the safety.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_00]: So I think personnel wise, yes, the safety's probably have my biggest question marks outside of the linebackers, even though I don't have question marks so much as misgivings about USC's linebackers, where with the safety's, it's just like
- 22:32[SPEAKER_00]: the difficulty of replacing the guys that were there with names that were not sure already to make that step up and to be those guys yet.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_00]: But I do think there are those guys there and enough of them that makes me think that that they can make it work.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_00]: Like it's not like USC is lacking bodies at safety.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_00]: It's just lacking
- 22:57[SPEAKER_00]: bodies that we know for sure can do the job right and and specific to Gary Patterson Gary Patterson has always been very good with safeties like so if anybody was going to go out there and figure out which of USC safeties have like
- 23:16[SPEAKER_00]: the capability of being a starter or a contributor, I feel like Garrett Patterson will figure it out with those guys and the more I think about it like I just pulled up my depth chart, my projected depth chart for the year and like if it if it is going to be the four of Christian Pierce Alex Graham profit brown and Kennedy Urlacker being the two safeties and the
- 23:43[SPEAKER_00]: I'm kind of okay, I'm a kind of okay there.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_00]: You know, like, I don't think you're rolling at a huge disadvantage if those are the four that you're sort of choosing between.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_00]: And then I think about guys like, I liked what I saw from D-Retik when he got in.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I think that there's... D-Retik?
- 24:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I can D-Retik.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_00]: And you've got freshmen coming in
- 24:13[SPEAKER_00]: Could do interesting I mean we could see them come come up and do something interesting So yeah, I don't know that like I wouldn't say that safety is my biggest worth Safety is not my biggest worry on the defense is what I would say like safety I feel like things will eventually fall together the way that they need to right like I Hear you I think it's very fascinating to me how the defense is going to be because like I have
- 24:43[SPEAKER_01]: I'm curious if you have the same thought that I do where like I have my expectations for the defense are both non-existent and
- 24:53[SPEAKER_01]: sort of hide at the same time in the sense that like if SE is going to be successful this year and take a step forward from where they were which was a nine and three chalk team a year ago which we've talked about before that should be the baseline for what SE is right like if you're not going to win a national championship then be a nine and three chalk team that wins the
- 25:21[SPEAKER_01]: bare minimum.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_01]: But now it's about taking a step forward from that.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_01]: How do you how do you get out of that?
- 25:27[SPEAKER_01]: And maybe with the tougher schedule, it means being nine and three, but actually having bigger wins.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_01]: So you're not just the nine and three Penn State truck team, right?
- 25:35[SPEAKER_01]: Whatever it is, we'll see.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_01]: But like the defense improving is going to have to be.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_01]: a big component to taking that step forward.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that Gary Patterson could be the guy to step in and be the sort of missing link.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_01]: We know that he's run defenses alongside offenses that are comparable to what Lincoln Riley will put out there on offense.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_01]: I know that the R.A. doesn't exist anymore, but it's not not having a lot of those components, right?
- 26:11[SPEAKER_01]: I think I, this is all long-winded to say, I think Gary Patterson is someone who could put together a defense that has defensive backs and has safety that just worked for the system defensively and offensively and puts everything together.
- 26:27[SPEAKER_01]: The other side of it is, Gary Patterson has not been a defensive coordinator in a long time.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_01]: And I worry about that, especially when this is not a defensive roster that is truly
- 26:43[SPEAKER_01]: plug-and-play with a bunch of talents in the sense of like last year, for instance, you had Bishop Fitzgerald, you had Camaro Ramsey at safety.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_01]: I would feel more confidence with Gary Patterson coming in and having those veteran guys at safety to be able to use into a system and
- 27:04[SPEAKER_01]: take their game to the next level or whatever we were talking last year about tomorrow and zee beam potentially a uh... uh... on all american and then ended up the bishop picture was was the all american right and so
- 27:20[SPEAKER_00]: I But that's a good that's a good point.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_00]: Is there an all-American in the secondary?
- 27:24[SPEAKER_00]: No, Alex Graham is the only one that I look at and say He's got that potential but also Not this year.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_00]: I think like I think Alex Graham in Twenty twenty seven you can look at his like charters Williams, maybe put like That's just going to come back from the injury is a big is that wishful thinking probably yeah
- 27:45[SPEAKER_01]: like like I don't think that there's there's anyone on defense right now that you can say that like this is going to be the gear that they could take us that forward and be an all-American.
- 27:54[SPEAKER_01]: If you get that, if you get that from junior adversary, great, if you get that from James Stewart, it takes a big step in year two, great, but I don't think that there's those guys who you know for sure are going to be sort of your stalwarts there and so
- 28:10[SPEAKER_01]: Defensively as a whole, you can bind the the fact that like I think this is one of the least interesting defensive rosters going into a season in the last few years.
- 28:23[SPEAKER_01]: with the uncertainty of a Gary Patterson, but also with the potential intrigue of a Gary Patterson coming in and bringing his wealth of information and experience as well.
- 28:35[SPEAKER_01]: Like, you see they're gonna be a positive or it's gonna be a negative and I know that it's a cop out, but it truly could go either way for me.
- 28:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, oh, absolutely.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, there's all things are still possible here.
- 28:47[SPEAKER_00]: Positive and negative.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_00]: One thing that I, my great hope for Gary Patterson, is that we finally see USC feel the defense that is, if nothing else, just like competence, relative, regardless of talent level.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_00]: Because I think one of my problems that I've had for years now with USC is this idea that like USC is lacking
- 29:13[SPEAKER_00]: is U.S.C.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_00]: lacking all American level talent on defense.
- 29:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but most teams don't have all Americans on their defense and most teams are feeling better defenses than U.S.C.
- 29:23[SPEAKER_00]: over the last few years.
- 29:25[SPEAKER_00]: So like I don't know that I need this U.S.C.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_00]: defense to certainly come out and like produce a bunch of all Americans.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_00]: What I need from this U.S.C.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_00]: defense is to simply
- 29:36[SPEAKER_00]: know what everybody knows what their job is and look well drilled.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that is something that Gary Patterson is capable of putting together.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_00]: And even though he's been out for several years, we know that he was working with teams more recently on the tactical side of the game.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that that is a good sign for potentially showing that it's not like
- 30:07[SPEAKER_00]: the progression of offense in in college football.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_00]: He hasn't necessarily been his hands on us.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_00]: He will be now that he's back to being a defensive coordinator.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_00]: But like he's been in and around it and will have been paying attention.
- 30:20[SPEAKER_00]: And so I don't think he's coming in like as cold as just straight up.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_01]: I've been on the sideline in five years.
- 30:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, totally fair, totally fair.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_01]: So I think you can sort yourself to arguing that he's been around it and everything, but it's been a big five years over the progression of like five years in terms of scheme is an eternity, right?
- 30:44[SPEAKER_01]: Like five years ago, Clemson was on top of the world best program in the country.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_01]: now is Clemson a top 15 program for how they're being built probably you can make the argument no right like and and and part of that schematic they don't have Tony Elliott anymore and like you change things there like just so much changes structurally schematically everything that you know I I don't know I think there's a there's a long process that SC has to put together
- 31:20[SPEAKER_01]: show that they've made the step forward.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_01]: The good news is plenty of opportunities when you look at the schedule with Oregon, Ohio State, a lot of teams that can give S.C. trouble defensively.
- 31:34[SPEAKER_00]: Right, but again, I think that the advantage here, at least from my perspective, that Gary Patterson has, is
- 31:42[SPEAKER_00]: It was like, I don't need him to go in and shut down Oregon.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_00]: I just need him to not give up 60 points to Oregon, you know, like, like, there's, there's levels to this.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_01]: And well, what you, what you need is the one more stop.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the one more stop.
- 31:55[SPEAKER_01]: And you need the one more stop that for, and one more stop against Illinois, you beat Illinois.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_01]: One more stop against Notre Dame, depending on that one stop is, I guess, maybe that's the difference in the game of, like, making there one position game in the last drive.
- 32:09[SPEAKER_01]: And that last drive is different.
- 32:10[SPEAKER_01]: Whatever it is, right?
- 32:12[SPEAKER_01]: One more stop you beat Penn State in 2023 and 2024, right?
- 32:17[SPEAKER_01]: Like one more stop you beat Michigan.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_01]: One more stop you beat Washington.
- 32:21[SPEAKER_01]: All those games in 2024 that were so.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_01]: So close.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_01]: What, you beat TCU in the, in the Valero Alibobo, right?
- 32:31[SPEAKER_01]: All these things, one more stop is what you need.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_01]: That's the, that's the starting point.
- 32:37[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think there's be fair to say that like, you get Gary Patterson, then suddenly hope that you're holding every team to 14 points because that's not realistic.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_01]: There's like one team if that every year that can do that.
- 32:51[SPEAKER_00]: Um, are you just need one more stop or more stop than you have last year this is a team that should be carried by their offense with the defense just doing enough to not lose.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 33:00[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that is a that is a low bar to set.
- 33:04[SPEAKER_00]: But that is the bar that for me, Gary Patterson, I was to clear in order for USC to at least have a chance at the post season that I think USC wants to have.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, we will see how that goes.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_01]: All right, last season, we did a thing called the Rotto Meter, the Rottometer, as I'm called it, just your true vibe check of USC football.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_01]: If you had to do the Rotto Meter right now,
- 33:33[SPEAKER_01]: on a 1 to 0, I guess 0 to 10 scale, where is your vibes around this team?
- 33:40[SPEAKER_01]: Where are you at?
- 33:43[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, my instinct was to say a seven.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe like a seven point five, because it is the off season and optimism reigns.
- 33:53[SPEAKER_00]: Um, but yeah, I think I will go into the season sort of solidly at a seven and, uh, and, and feel like there's certainly room to grow in that and certainly room to fall in that.
- 34:14[SPEAKER_00]: It does speak to where USC has been over the last few years that like, I don't know, it's July.
- 34:19[SPEAKER_00]: I should be at much higher than a seven, I should be at an irrational 8.5 and I'm not because of where we're at and I'm seeing in the chat, you know, grand 7.5, kind of 7, Ramma Murdy 7, like so I think we're all sort of in the same
- 34:38[SPEAKER_00]: in the same boat of like, yeah, I'm cautiously optimistic.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not negative on this team, but I think that that
- 34:47[SPEAKER_00]: for a USC in July, there should be a lot more irrational chest thumping.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that we've all sort of had our chest thumping beaten out of us in the absence.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how much of this is just because we've had enough season where both of us have been checked out for various life reasons.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_01]: as you lost the Valera album a bowl in a way that was insane.
- 35:23[SPEAKER_01]: Valera album a bowl that I think that like the interest in that bowl game period was low.
- 35:28[SPEAKER_01]: And then you lose the game that the way that they did.
- 35:32[SPEAKER_01]: You lose the Balitnikov winner, you lose an all-american at safety.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_01]: Like there's a lot of you lose gentry and Eric gentry with someone that people, you know, reader forum was super up for.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, you get Swayman Jordan back and yes, you get King Miller back and yes, you have a recruiting class that you can say is number one and all those things, but like I don't know that the offseason outside of that was as exciting as ones in years past in terms of like the transfer portal or whatever, but
- 36:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we've had a we've sat here and talked about exciting offseason before and it's not accepting like those if you know gotten SC anywhere either that's kind of why I'm a little bit more like
- 36:26[SPEAKER_00]: might be a little bit more positive because like this is the kind of offseason where USC comes out and exceeds expectations.
- 36:35[SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, I think that the transfer portal not being open after all after Spring Camp sort of changes things a lot.
- 36:45[SPEAKER_00]: There aren't really like reinforcements that can make you get back to that chest bumping.
- 36:52[SPEAKER_00]: Like,
- 36:52[SPEAKER_00]: If USC had been able to go out and get an all-American line-backer and an all-American safety, I think we'd be talking about this defense differently.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_00]: We'd be talking about this team differently.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_00]: But they didn't, and they didn't go out and get an all-American wide receiver to replace their all-American wide receiver.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_00]: Bill and I cough wide receiver.
- 37:08[SPEAKER_00]: And all, so like, yeah, I think the transfer portal,
- 37:13[SPEAKER_00]: stuff probably puts probably put a ceiling on the vibes around this off season.
- 37:19[SPEAKER_00]: But I think that doesn't mean that USC is going to come out and have the guys who are currently on the roster take that step forward and be better than any transfer portal addition that USC could have gotten out and got.
- 37:37[SPEAKER_00]: This officially goes, yeah.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_00]: You know, we've seen USC bring interest reporter guys that didn't do, you know, jack.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_00]: So, um, but it's harder to sort of get hype around someone like Corey Sims who had a good spring apparently, uh, when, you know,
- 37:54[SPEAKER_00]: We haven't really seen Corey Simms so we haven't really gotten excited and Teno Kines I think is very exciting but he's still sort of the task of replacing my Kylaman is pretty pretty tough so there are a lot of question marks with this team and I think there are still what are you most looking forward to?
- 38:17[SPEAKER_00]: just seeing who the who this team is.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, King Miller and and Wave and Jordan in that backfield is is really I think is very exciting, but I just like I just want to know who this team is because I think there's a universe where a lot of these guys come through and.
- 38:36[SPEAKER_00]: and jade my ava is one of the best quarterbacks in the country and is a high has been candidate and then suddenly you start getting on a roll and suddenly you find a way to win some games that people maybe don't think you're going to win.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_00]: So like I just I want to find out who are the guys that are going to step up and actually be something instead of you know I think the thing I hate the most about the off season as somebody who just likes to know things I hate not knowing for certain that like
- 39:04[SPEAKER_00]: somebody's going to be at a certain level like I hate not knowing if Elijah Page is going to be healthy for this season I hate not knowing if, you know, having a lot of know a likely to be a starter on the offensive line is going to be an unmitigated disaster or not like I hate not knowing
- 39:23[SPEAKER_00]: If USC's linebacker core can sort of stabilize and find a way to be a plus instead of like a minus minus.
- 39:33[SPEAKER_00]: I hate not knowing if Camfountain and Braylon Shelby
- 39:38[SPEAKER_00]: are going enough past wrestlers to lead a U.S.C.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_00]: defense like all of these things, I think the answer to some of these questions is they could like I think camp out in Braille and Shelby could be unleashed this season and it would be a lot of fun.
- 39:52[SPEAKER_00]: I think today obciri could be an all-American.
- 39:56[SPEAKER_00]: uh... you know i i think that the john says Williams could be the next great corner at u.s. and i'll excram could be the next safety at u.s.e.
- 40:03[SPEAKER_00]: uh... but i don't know those things and that's what i hate about the off season hate not knowing so even if we got into the season and it turned out that all of the answers to those questions are like well actually no like at least i would know at least i would be able to sit here in october and say well
- 40:20[SPEAKER_00]: You know what?
- 40:21[SPEAKER_00]: The answer to the Jayden Maiba question was, he is who he is, and the answer to the Aloninoa question is, he is who he is, and the answer to the Tenoquine's question is, it's just too soon.
- 40:33[SPEAKER_00]: And the answer to the, to the GDavaciria question is, he's just not that, he's just wasn't able to take that step.
- 40:41[SPEAKER_00]: Like knowing is what I look for too much to see.
- 40:50[SPEAKER_01]: Kenny and Chattas, I'm feels a little bit surprised at the net.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_01]: There's not national hype for my ava.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_00]: I just, but I just saw today, I think it was JD Pickle, who was talking him up.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_00]: Like, somebody earlier in the chat, sorry.
- 41:08[SPEAKER_00]: Let me find it, but, but, but, but, but, where is it?
- 41:14[SPEAKER_00]: uh... uh... uh... s k i'm just going to call you sk because i i can't even begin to try and pronounce your what your name is but uh... sk says any concerns about how much hype is building for the season you could argue that roster is installed is last year in the schedule is way harder like putting aside that the the two things uh... about that lake
- 41:38[SPEAKER_00]: I think that it depends on where you're looking to see the hype because I like literally today.
- 41:42[SPEAKER_00]: I've seen TikToks from JD Pickle and from, um, uh, who's the other?
- 41:49[SPEAKER_00]: I'm why am I blinking on his, uh, Josh Payton like, there are people right now who are talking up USC is like a dark horse that that has way more going on toward.
- 41:59[SPEAKER_00]: Like there is national, there are national media people talking about USC and talking about
- 42:07[SPEAKER_01]: I, we always talk every single year about how easy it is, especially when you're talking about a team that you don't watch on a daily basis, like you aren't completely entrenched in everything, not watching every single snap and not reading every single tweet about them and watching every single press conference and all those things, it's really easy.
- 42:29[SPEAKER_01]: to look at, oh, senior quarterback must be good.
- 42:33[SPEAKER_01]: And especially you look at the numbers and you look at the success that my office had in terms of like, wins and losses, for instance, or whatever it is.
- 42:45[SPEAKER_01]: And because that stuff looks good for my office, there were a lot of games last year that looked really good.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that the weird part about my office that we went into last season with me saying
- 42:58[SPEAKER_01]: Like, there was the least excited I had been, I think, ever for a US quarterback room with where my ava was coming from with the SRS distribution Las Vegas bowl, right, and how much of a disaster that game was.
- 43:17[SPEAKER_01]: And then,
- 43:18[SPEAKER_01]: And he, absolutely, I think impressed everybody for most of the season.
- 43:26[SPEAKER_01]: The Illinois game.
- 43:27[SPEAKER_01]: He throws an interception that was costly, but like, I'll tell you that in an interception, he was nails in that game, right?
- 43:36[SPEAKER_01]: The Iowa game he grew into it later.
- 43:39[SPEAKER_01]: Like, there were moments in so many of the games where he stepped up and, yes, Nebraska was bad.
- 43:46[SPEAKER_01]: And yes, he threw two interceptions against Notre Dame in the second half, but like, one of them is on a desperation drive.
- 43:55[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't really care about interceptions and desperation drives because you have to throw the ball down field anyways.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_01]: He did all these things to earn goodwill and then had another absolute disaster show in the bowl game and so part of me sits here and says well he had a disastrous game in the bowl game last year and then ended up having a really good season for the most part so don't look into
- 44:29[SPEAKER_01]: Jade might have a can be and then the flip side of it is, but you always know that that's in his back, you know you know the Nebraska game isn't his back.
- 44:40[SPEAKER_01]: You know that that's there and you don't want to see that Jade might have a against Ohio State in October.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, because that'll do me for sure.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 44:51[SPEAKER_00]: But then I think that's, again, it's like, we have seen every pockmark that exists in June, my album's game, and we haven't necessarily seen those same pockmarks in every snap of Julian Sayon's career or anything like that.
- 45:08[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, all quarterbacks you're looking at is that they could have those moments and the ones that find a way to minimize those moments,
- 45:16[SPEAKER_00]: are the ones that tend to do well and go on to have big careers.
- 45:21[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that with Jane Mayava, the talent is clearly there.
- 45:25[SPEAKER_00]: The production is clearly there.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_00]: Even if he just replicated this past season, like, I think where I'm at with Jane Mayava is this.
- 45:34[SPEAKER_00]: if you signed me up today and said that you could have drain my other exactly as he was in twenty twenty five would you take it would do you think that you as you could have a good season if that was the case I would say absolutely yes because the drain my other that showed up last year
- 45:50[SPEAKER_00]: wins more games than he loses if he has a competent defense playing in if USC's defense had way more bad quarters of football in in in in in twenty twenty five then jade my oven did so to me again it comes back to
- 46:06[SPEAKER_00]: J. and my office, not U.S. he's problem in the slightest, and that, and you know, J. and where he's at currently, even without progressing in, in another year, learning from Lincoln Riley and knowing this, this offense, but like the back of his hand.
- 46:22[SPEAKER_00]: But then let me ask you this though.
- 46:25[SPEAKER_01]: I don't want to get you off.
- 46:27[SPEAKER_01]: That's fine.
- 46:28[SPEAKER_01]: The question I have for you is like, but was the success last year?
- 46:34[SPEAKER_01]: in part by having two of the best receivers in the country.
- 46:39[SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't have caught the winner in Matti Lemmon and Jacoby Lane, who is your standard right receiver who makes insane catches and then will drop the third down that was right in the breadbasket, but he's going to make the insane catch and make the quarterback look better because of that, right?
- 46:59[SPEAKER_01]: Like both those guys made insane catches all season long.
- 47:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, but that's also like, I think that Mackay Lemon and Chcoeley Lane was certainly great quarterback.
- 47:11[SPEAKER_00]: Great great wide receivers, but I also think it's, it's unfair to Jay and Mayava to act like they were the only reason that he had success.
- 47:19[SPEAKER_00]: When he has had success, you know, he's been a relatively strong performing quarterback.
- 47:27[SPEAKER_00]: whether those guys were in their fully formed states or not.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I think that you look at Tenakines and Tural Anderson and then the freshman that are coming in who could come in and be just as good as Tenakines was for USC this past season as a freshman.
- 47:45[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I think USC has wide receivers that, you know, there are they going to be as good as McCy Lemon and
- 47:53[SPEAKER_00]: jacophony lane at this exact moment probably not because those were two juniors who were sort of at the peak of their powers.
- 48:01[SPEAKER_00]: But but also, you know, I don't know that USC is completely lacking for why receivers who could come out and be different smakers.
- 48:12[SPEAKER_00]: And clearly my other as a quarterback has been able to deliver the ball to a wide variety of guys,
- 48:23[SPEAKER_01]: Again, I just, you know, like, I drew in the chat since past performance is no guarantee of future failure.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, and I think that, like, the SRS history region, let's fake spoilers, the prime example of that, right?
- 48:36[SPEAKER_01]: Like, he had it.
- 48:38[SPEAKER_01]: He's showed his words, my avidid, and then he came out last season, and the first six seven games he was nails, right?
- 48:46[SPEAKER_01]: So, like,
- 48:47[SPEAKER_01]: we know that he's a he has the ability to continue to to get better.
- 48:52[SPEAKER_01]: Do you want to see that step forward?
- 48:54[SPEAKER_00]: Well, but I also and I also think again like what what we've seen from my overall last two years has been playing behind what is I think we can all agree is a mediocre offence of line and I'm not saying the offence of line won't be mediocre this year because it's entirely possible that they could be mediocre again.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_00]: But like if if you see I think you can
- 49:15[SPEAKER_00]: you look at quarterbacks and how they proceed across the country at all levels.
- 49:22[SPEAKER_00]: The offensive line in front of them plays a huge role there.
- 49:25[SPEAKER_00]: And so any of my office struggles, I think could just like the Nebraska game, the offensive line was not good in that game.
- 49:34[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that that obviously, um,
- 49:38[SPEAKER_00]: that that obviously plays a role in how in how things in how things progress for the quarterback.
- 49:45[SPEAKER_00]: And the ability to field a solid running attack is a part of that is a part of that conversation.
- 49:53[SPEAKER_00]: And then obviously the the wide receivers are also a part of that conversation.
- 49:57[SPEAKER_00]: And USC will miss somebody like McIleman who creates his own stuff and and
- 50:02[SPEAKER_00]: It's just such a technician that he makes life easier for the quarterback for sure.
- 50:06[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying that they won't but like my hope would be again
- 50:11[SPEAKER_00]: You make life easier for your quarterback by also feeling an offensive line that is number one more healthy than they were last year.
- 50:17[SPEAKER_00]: Number two, simply for form better than they were last year, which there's a lot of dudes back and there's a lot of dudes not a video game and there's competition for the first time on it for spots on that on that offensive line.
- 50:30[SPEAKER_00]: Like I think it's been very interesting looking at some of the spring camp coverage and seeing that guys.
- 50:38[SPEAKER_00]: like Hayden Frieder and Black, Deacon Oven, like, and Brett Koolajay and all those guys who are, you know, could be involved here in what USC does on the offensive line.
- 50:51[SPEAKER_00]: And even if that means, you know, starting a freshman or two on the offensive line, that means somebody has earned that job.
- 50:57[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that USC in the past few years has been in a position with the offensive line where, you know,
- 51:03[SPEAKER_00]: you simply had the dudes that you had and you know if they weren't going to work out then there was no options behind them.
- 51:08[SPEAKER_00]: And USC now has some more options behind them which should make us all feel a little bit better about what this offensive line could do because you can guys who are underperforming can be taken out of the firing line and replaced and nobody's job is guaranteed but
- 51:26[SPEAKER_00]: you look at you just look at like the progression of the rest of the team around somebody like biola and that and that that should stabilize things for him in a way that I think is it's too simple to me to just say well he loses McCoy and he loses Jacobi and therefore he's gonna you know
- 51:43[SPEAKER_00]: Turn into a frog or something like that and it's like no, I think that my Ava has been my Ava has Been a really strong quarterback over the last couple of years with his warts to be sure But he has done so while playing Add a disadvantage from the offense of wine perspective that can only be made up so much by what the wider sewers do
- 52:07[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 52:09[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and Grant in the chat says I have total faith in Riley's ability to find quarterback receivers and running backs.
- 52:14[SPEAKER_01]: Like, yeah, that's the ultimate thing that SC has going for them, right?
- 52:21[SPEAKER_01]: Like, and I think that that's what is a total reason why I think SC's limitation as a team does come down the defense because even if even if my Ava is mediocre,
- 52:37[SPEAKER_01]: Even if he's going to be an assistant that is designed to help him, he's going to be sort of by default, be in the the upper third at minimum of big 10 quarterbacks.
- 52:51[SPEAKER_00]: Well, I've seen lists of big 10 quarterbacks where he is number one.
- 52:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like that is look at this isn't the pack 12 anymore, you know what I mean?
- 53:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like by defaults the backup SC quarterback should still be top third like just by default.
- 53:11[SPEAKER_01]: Based on the quarterback play that's in this conference at Rutgers and Northwestern in Iowa and so on.
- 53:17[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah I see has those things going in their favor.
- 53:21[SPEAKER_01]: They also have a running game that I think should be damn good They were damn good last year King Miller was great.
- 53:30[SPEAKER_01]: Wayman Jordan was phenomenal And we know that this is an offense that is designed to have a ton of success on the ground
- 53:41[SPEAKER_01]: And all of that will help running the ball is easier for the offensive line.
- 53:47[SPEAKER_01]: This is something that we've seen with SC years and years and years running now that they've always been a better run blocking team, pass blocking team on a technical from a technical standpoint.
- 53:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's easier to run blocking than it's pass block, but also you add that with a scheme that allows you to find holes.
- 54:10[SPEAKER_01]: and require defenses to account for a lot of the passing game and have light boxes, and I think that that's something that SC could have in their favor as well as always.
- 54:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, there's, I think there's a lot of reasons to feel good about S.E.
- 54:27[SPEAKER_01]: offensively there.
- 54:28[SPEAKER_00]: I would, the last thing I'd say on this is I think the vast majority of college football teams would be better off would trade my Ava than their current quarterback.
- 54:38[SPEAKER_00]: So again, if USC doesn't succeed this year to me, it's not because it's a trade in my Ava.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_00]: It is because everything that is around trading my Ava.
- 54:46[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 54:47[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I think that's fair.
- 54:49[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely fair.
- 54:51[SPEAKER_01]: All right, there's a lot of stuff to get to that we have plenty of time to get to next week and so on about the calls from all playoff and potential changes there.
- 55:05[SPEAKER_01]: Talking about what happens in media day coming up with Culver's big 10 media, I don't know.
- 55:14[SPEAKER_01]: What would be a good company for the big 10 to get branded with?
- 55:21[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I feel like it's culvers.
- 55:23[SPEAKER_00]: That's, I feel like that's a good point.
- 55:24[SPEAKER_00]: Art's.
- 55:27[SPEAKER_01]: Big 10 brought to you by Minards.
- 55:29[SPEAKER_01]: Should I hire Minards?
- 55:30[SPEAKER_00]: Minards is.
- 55:32[SPEAKER_01]: Manards is a is a hardware store and myor is a grocery store or thing.
- 55:38[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, for the record.
- 55:40[SPEAKER_00]: Big 10 media days.
- 55:41[SPEAKER_00]: Basically with July 28th and 30th.
- 55:43[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 55:43[SPEAKER_00]: 2 30th.
- 55:45[SPEAKER_00]: So 28th 29th and 30th.
- 55:47[SPEAKER_00]: So couple three weeks away from the school was.
- 55:49[SPEAKER_00]: Big 10 football media days presented by Discover.
- 55:53[SPEAKER_01]: Here we go.
- 55:55[SPEAKER_01]: There we go.
- 55:57[SPEAKER_01]: Presented by Discover.
- 56:00[SPEAKER_01]: Let's go.
- 56:01[SPEAKER_01]: I want to open up the mail back here.
- 56:05[SPEAKER_01]: We do have a mail bag if I can get to the sound somewhere.
- 56:11[SPEAKER_00]: I don't have the sound on my board.
- 56:20[SPEAKER_00]: Sorry, Grant points out that Wisconsin is doing Wisconsin has Colvers, which is sponsorship patch, which totally fits, right?
- 56:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, cheesecarts.
- 56:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, cheesecarts.
- 56:31[SPEAKER_01]: Save big money at Menard.
- 56:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 56:35[SPEAKER_01]: That had runs nonstop when you're watching Cubs games.
- 56:38[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, okay.
- 56:39[SPEAKER_00]: This makes more sense now.
- 56:40[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 56:41[SPEAKER_01]: Also Jeff Fukovitch, your
- 56:49[SPEAKER_01]: real estate guy.
- 56:51[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I have a pet peeve.
- 56:53[SPEAKER_01]: This is weird.
- 56:57[SPEAKER_01]: The people who become, I'm going, I am the person who sells the service, but I'm going to be the person who advertises on these things as just a single person.
- 57:08[SPEAKER_01]: And so you see this with lawyers, right?
- 57:11[SPEAKER_01]: Like your, your saw,
- 57:19[SPEAKER_01]: But the ones that are like real estate are even more crazy to me because it's like, why, why is the seventh I mean, stretch brought to you by a real estate agent in Chicago?
- 57:35[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 57:36[SPEAKER_00]: They make a mission.
- 57:38[SPEAKER_00]: I guess.
- 57:39[SPEAKER_00]: That's a battle, I guess.
- 57:42[SPEAKER_01]: All right, let's go to the mail that we've got a bunch of emails from Tony in the Nora P.A.
- 57:52[SPEAKER_01]: We're all read the most recent one.
- 57:55[SPEAKER_01]: Michael, Alicia, this is Tony from the Nora P.A.
- 58:00[SPEAKER_01]: Hey, just checking up on both of you.
- 58:02[SPEAKER_01]: Hope everything is going good and want to let you know, I'm thinking about you.
- 58:05[SPEAKER_01]: Fight on sent from my iPhone.
- 58:08[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, Tony.
- 58:08[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you, Tony.
- 58:09[SPEAKER_00]: Tony's been checking in on us regularly throughout our months long, hiatus.
- 58:16[SPEAKER_00]: Tony, Tony's a real one.
- 58:18[SPEAKER_00]: We genuinely love getting emails from Tony.
- 58:24[SPEAKER_00]: It makes me smile.
- 58:25[SPEAKER_01]: Tony, Tony is the best.
- 58:27[SPEAKER_01]: I ask you in the chat.
- 58:28[SPEAKER_01]: I love that you know these midwestern brands, games, brands from Cubs Games.
- 58:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and what the hell is it, Benny's beverage depot?
- 58:36[SPEAKER_01]: Like, that's...
- 58:39[SPEAKER_01]: Bany's peppercy pose the one that really really grinds back here.
- 58:42[SPEAKER_00]: Can we talk about What USC's jersey patch should be thing should be aside from the obvious that it should be in and out I just don't see in and out doing that and The obvious that it should be Trader Joe's and that's more likely to possibly be a thing although maybe not Who what would be a jersey patch that would not make you angry?
- 59:08[SPEAKER_00]: that would not make me angry.
- 59:10[SPEAKER_00]: Like the way that Colver's fits with God's and so well.
- 59:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 59:13[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 59:13[SPEAKER_00]: You see, you're like, okay.
- 59:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 59:15[SPEAKER_01]: I do want to see the patch, though.
- 59:16[SPEAKER_01]: I need, I need to go find the Colver's patch isn't blue.
- 59:21[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's red because that's, that's the thing.
- 59:24[SPEAKER_01]: Like, although I don't know if I, I feel the same way with,
- 59:28[SPEAKER_01]: friend of the shirt sponsors in soccer.
- 59:31[SPEAKER_00]: No, it's blue.
- 59:33[SPEAKER_00]: It's the Culver's blue logo.
- 59:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, which will look fine on the road jerseys, but terrible in the homes.
- 59:39[SPEAKER_01]: Well, the at least the homes is white.
- 59:40[SPEAKER_00]: The examples they have are the white football and white basketball jerseys, and it looks nice.
- 59:46[SPEAKER_00]: on those, but yes, oh, no, here we go.
- 59:48[SPEAKER_00]: I see the full of the full red.
- 59:49[SPEAKER_00]: They have a hockey jersey.
- 59:51[SPEAKER_00]: The full red with the, um, is it a white Culver's logo?
- 59:54[SPEAKER_00]: It's the same blue Culver's logo.
- 59:55[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, see, hate that, hang that.
- 59:57[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to text this to you so that you can, am I going to text it?
- 1:00:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:00:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I see, I think the, um, I think you need to have a logo from a company that is willing to either put their logo in white,
- 1:00:17[SPEAKER_01]: or allow you to put it into their colors.
- 1:00:19[SPEAKER_00]: Do like what?
- 1:00:20[SPEAKER_00]: I think most of the NBA ones do that where they put it in the colors.
- 1:00:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like that is the idea way to do it.
- 1:00:28[SPEAKER_01]: The problem is like, there's very few, like, for instance, the cubs with the Motorola patch, the Motorola patch,
- 1:00:36[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I'll be honest, the blue path doesn't look bad.
- 1:00:39[SPEAKER_01]: I've seen it on the red jersey.
- 1:00:40[SPEAKER_00]: It works with their red, I think.
- 1:00:42[SPEAKER_00]: I think their shade of red and that shade of blue.
- 1:00:45[SPEAKER_01]: It's pretty clean.
- 1:00:47[SPEAKER_01]: It is the antithesis of what I'm saying here, because I think that it should be allowed to fit your branding in some sort of way.
- 1:00:55[SPEAKER_02]: Mm-hmm.
- 1:00:56[SPEAKER_00]: And so like, that Colver's patch will look terrible on USC's jerseys.
- 1:01:01[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, but if it was in and out,
- 1:01:05[SPEAKER_01]: Like I think it could work because like the colors would work.
- 1:01:08[SPEAKER_00]: You wouldn't need to change anything about the internet logo to go on a U.S.E.
- 1:01:11[SPEAKER_00]: jersey.
- 1:01:11[SPEAKER_01]: Correct, but if it was Pepsi, like I will Pepsi allow a gray scale logo that is just white taxed or something.
- 1:01:24[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 1:01:25[SPEAKER_01]: That doesn't end up looking blue.
- 1:01:28[SPEAKER_00]: Now, Trader Joe's,
- 1:01:31[SPEAKER_01]: If they did it in, if they did, if they did their logo, but in Cardinal, yeah, or in, I think, I think, I think a company that has red would just do white so that way the red, you think that it's right, but even if it's the wrong red, but you also don't want the red to be wrong, you know what I mean?
- 1:01:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Lucasfilm, I like that grant, I like it.
- 1:01:56[SPEAKER_00]: Lucasfilm, I could see.
- 1:02:02[SPEAKER_00]: What's an energy drink bang bang bang bang does has gone to USC's campus and give it away free.
- 1:02:11[SPEAKER_00]: What's the one that we like?
- 1:02:13[SPEAKER_00]: We like Lonnie, but I don't care for what's the one they like the monster juice
- 1:02:19[SPEAKER_00]: The it's it's monster, but it's their juice version.
- 1:02:23[SPEAKER_00]: That's the one that I like and there's a different one.
- 1:02:26[SPEAKER_00]: Is it bang?
- 1:02:28[SPEAKER_00]: No, bang.
- 1:02:29[SPEAKER_00]: I don't really care for ghosts.
- 1:02:32[SPEAKER_00]: Go.
- 1:02:33[SPEAKER_00]: Go.
- 1:02:33[SPEAKER_00]: I do like.
- 1:02:34[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:02:35[SPEAKER_00]: Just the one I like.
- 1:02:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I could.
- 1:02:38[SPEAKER_01]: I'm trying to think of a local LA brand and all in coming up with besides Tommy's.
- 1:02:42[SPEAKER_00]: Well, Tommy's was a lot of.
- 1:02:44[SPEAKER_01]: Don't care for Tommy's.
- 1:02:45[SPEAKER_01]: No thanks.
- 1:02:47[SPEAKER_01]: Um, is like King Taco, um, someone said farmer John.
- 1:02:57[SPEAKER_00]: U.S. E. Glenn says, liquid IV was started by a USC grad.
- 1:03:01[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, who has liquid IV probably every day?
- 1:03:04[SPEAKER_01]: I'm in.
- 1:03:04[SPEAKER_00]: Let's go.
- 1:03:06[SPEAKER_01]: I'm in.
- 1:03:07[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, Kenny says Kevin Feige is a Trojan, right?
- 1:03:11[SPEAKER_01]: Marvel sponsors it.
- 1:03:13[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 1:03:14[SPEAKER_00]: Now, here's a problem with what I'd be.
- 1:03:15[SPEAKER_00]: I just pulled up their logo.
- 1:03:16[SPEAKER_00]: It's blue.
- 1:03:17[SPEAKER_00]: It's blue.
- 1:03:18[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, but would they allow a white logo to make a white logo with the little blue?
- 1:03:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because like in baseball, we see these where like the the asteris have oxy and it's white and blue and red and it just doesn't work with the asteris uniforms.
- 1:03:37[SPEAKER_01]: But thankfully Motorola is the Cubs and the Padres and they allow them to use their colors It's the Cubs blue and it's the Padres turd brown and it like works, right?
- 1:03:47[SPEAKER_01]: And then you it's rare when the color is wrong But fits like I think the braves with quick-crete
- 1:03:56[SPEAKER_01]: is the only one that's the wrong color, but looks cool to me, because it looks like a special logo, because that's just because a special patch because it's a gold patch.
- 1:04:08[SPEAKER_01]: But like that's rare.
- 1:04:10[SPEAKER_01]: It's rare that you're gonna find something that complements like the culvers on the white Wisconsin jersey.
- 1:04:16[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:04:17[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:04:18[SPEAKER_01]: Grants is jack in the box.
- 1:04:19[SPEAKER_00]: Jack in the box would be good.
- 1:04:20[SPEAKER_00]: I would be all about that.
- 1:04:22[SPEAKER_00]: Whether it look good or not, if jack in the box is good.
- 1:04:24[SPEAKER_01]: Gettletaco.
- 1:04:25[SPEAKER_00]: Give me Deltaco.
- 1:04:26[SPEAKER_00]: Gettletaco is good.
- 1:04:27[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:04:27[SPEAKER_00]: Red.
- 1:04:30[SPEAKER_00]: Do you do Deltaco?
- 1:04:32[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:04:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, give me, give me don't talk about sales force being off as a U.S. You like farm state farm would look super clean for you.
- 1:04:40[SPEAKER_01]: I was canco still existed because canco's the messy company.
- 1:04:45[SPEAKER_01]: before FedEx came in.
- 1:04:48[SPEAKER_00]: What's the storage one that that's.
- 1:04:51[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, that's the one that Kili has to read the ads for?
- 1:04:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I think so.
- 1:04:55[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, what's the, I don't care for those.
- 1:04:58[SPEAKER_01]: It's, it's some long name.
- 1:05:00[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:05:01[SPEAKER_01]: Don't, yeah.
- 1:05:03[SPEAKER_00]: No.
- 1:05:03[SPEAKER_00]: Sean, beautiful Austin, Texas is on point.
- 1:05:07[SPEAKER_00]: We just need to start pulling money to be the official Jersey sponsor.
- 1:05:11[SPEAKER_01]: Put it a rot logo.
- 1:05:12[SPEAKER_00]: Rot logo on a U.S.e.
- 1:05:13[SPEAKER_00]: Jersey.
- 1:05:16[SPEAKER_01]: I could take it on investment or a few million short, but I could I could see it I absolutely could see it all right we got a question from Malone in the chat this is y'all think the Penn State wide out game a Penn State game will be a wide out look at their schedule looks like there's a good chance
- 1:05:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think absolutely that could be something that is probably likely to be in the cards.
- 1:05:43[SPEAKER_00]: I think the smart money is on that.
- 1:05:45[SPEAKER_00]: I think what we looked at their schedule and it was just like, it makes too much sense.
- 1:05:51[SPEAKER_00]: I would, at this point, I would almost be surprised if it's not to be honest, which makes that game really complicated for USC.
- 1:05:58[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Penn State is there are a few games on this schedule.
- 1:06:08[SPEAKER_00]: that remember what was the the 2016 schedule where like we thought it was going to be one thing and it turned out Yeah, we called it the hamburger.
- 1:06:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the inverted hamburger.
- 1:06:21[SPEAKER_01]: The plane Dutchman, I guess.
- 1:06:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, and it turned out that like that last month of like media games turned out to be just like big nothing burgers.
- 1:06:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:06:31[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was it was four and eight UCLA four and eight.
- 1:06:35[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, Notre Dame and four-and-a-a-dorca.
- 1:06:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:06:37[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 1:06:37[SPEAKER_00]: So like this schedule looks real tough.
- 1:06:41[SPEAKER_00]: On last, Washington takes a step back with all the drama that they had with their quarterback.
- 1:06:48[SPEAKER_00]: On last Penn State.
- 1:06:50[SPEAKER_00]: completely takes a nose dive with Matt Campbell unless UCLA isn't what I think they're going to be with with Chesney.
- 1:07:02[SPEAKER_00]: Even Indiana could take a nose dive after losing Mendoza and where are you on Penn State wearing white fur a white out game?
- 1:07:13[SPEAKER_00]: Do they not wear white fur white
- 1:07:17[SPEAKER_01]: Well, it's it's I believe it's up to the opposing the the road team to allow it first.
- 1:07:22[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, well, if I was USC and I got to say I can wear my homes and you wear your whites.
- 1:07:28[SPEAKER_00]: I'd be all about that.
- 1:07:29[SPEAKER_01]: I see I would take that deal too, but I think the opposing teams are like, no, I don't want to give them what they want.
- 1:07:34[SPEAKER_01]: But they.
- 1:07:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's fair.
- 1:07:38[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, all right, what else we got in the chat right in the chat to this this year is confusing because we could see ourselves being a playoff playoff bound or losing four games and having an off season of coaching haunts eat discussions.
- 1:07:50[SPEAKER_01]: Neither of those would surprise me.
- 1:07:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, 100% there's so many things that are on the the the potential list of options here.
- 1:07:59[SPEAKER_00]: I think there are like six games the U.S.E.
- 1:08:02[SPEAKER_00]: could lose this season.
- 1:08:04[SPEAKER_00]: I think if you're talking worst case scenario, actually worst case scenario this, let's say you lose at Rutgers because of the travel, and the look ahead to Oregon, you lose to Oregon, you can easily lose to Washington, you can easily lose to Penn State, you're probably going to lose to Ohio State, probably going to lose to Indiana, and then you're looking at like,
- 1:08:26[SPEAKER_00]: you could do, if you lose all of those games, you could also lose CCLA for sure.
- 1:08:31[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, there is a universe where this, the wheel's all off hard, and, you know, that's, that's the worst worst case scenario.
- 1:08:43[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, there's also, there's absolutely a universe where USC rolls through this 11 and 1.
- 1:08:50[SPEAKER_01]: And I mean, I don't know that there's many people living in that universe, but it's a very limited universe, but let's say I think that the good thing for S.C. and I don't want this to be seen as moving the goalpost or anything, but like we live in a college football society now that you no longer have to go undefeated.
- 1:09:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, S.C. has three brutally tough games against playoff opponents.
- 1:09:19[SPEAKER_01]: When one can Ohio State Indiana, realistically all you do have to do is win one of them when one of them when one of them and go chalk the rest of the way that you're in the playoff.
- 1:09:34[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and you're like you're like locked locked into the playoff if you play the other if the two that you lose are Yeah, and if you go tight game truly undefeated and they could be I mean because like let's play this out a USC that that does have a better offense of line Jen might have a text another step forward
- 1:09:52[SPEAKER_00]: It's an occurrence, it takes a huge, a huge leap that you need him to, and the Terrell Anderson, and Corey Sims, and one of the freshmen comes through, and suddenly you're receiving core looks good, and you're running back to healthy, and your defense is improved.
- 1:10:07[SPEAKER_00]: You're looking at, okay, so if we're imagining that universe, then I take Washington off the board as a potential loss, and I take Penn State off the board as a potential loss.
- 1:10:16[SPEAKER_00]: And then you're looking and I'll take UCLA off the board as potential loss as well and then you're looking at again those three tough games two of those games are at home Yeah, one of them where Ohio State has to travel across the country to Los Angeles the place that they have lost before so like You know, I think that there's a universe where and then then the other of those is traveling to Indiana sure that's tough but also it's an Indiana team that isn't headed by Fernando Mendoza who
- 1:10:45[SPEAKER_00]: you know, has lost a lot of the players that got them to a championship and could just be a different team like I think there's a the universe where USC improves in the ways that they need to improve.
- 1:10:59[SPEAKER_00]: And then you just need to win one of those three tough games.
- 1:11:02[SPEAKER_00]: The two of them being at home is a huge huge plus for USC so long as they don't.
- 1:11:08[SPEAKER_00]: screw up in all of the other games that they can screw up, which is where my concern for you at C comes from, usually.
- 1:11:15[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I'm looking at red girls and saying, well, the perk though is S.C. was that chalk team last year.
- 1:11:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 1:11:23[SPEAKER_01]: So if you can be chalk and
- 1:11:28[SPEAKER_01]: hold your own and win one of the really tough games, yes, but also that's always tough to be chalk there.
- 1:11:37[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, the the organ thing I think is going to be super tough, but obviously SC has not beaten a ranked organ team in the Coliseum since Bush was the president,
- 1:11:59[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, the doctor swept the cups and I was at the doctor's stadium and I missed the game.
- 1:12:07[SPEAKER_01]: Anyways, uh, we got a super chat.
- 1:12:10[SPEAKER_01]: Hey.
- 1:12:10[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, this is from Urban Cadillac.
- 1:12:16[SPEAKER_01]: And missing you folks nice to see you and hear you.
- 1:12:20[SPEAKER_01]: Uh, hear you not from two years ago.
- 1:12:25[SPEAKER_00]: yeah it's nice to back and thank you for the for the super chat thank you for all for all your support and general across cross time it's been it's been again I will say it again like it's been really gratifying to see everybody who is excited that we're back and and there's been asking after us this whole time so we appreciate you guys
- 1:12:46[SPEAKER_01]: yeah we appreciate you guys um final thoughts um world cup stuff now that the world cup is over to do you enjoyed it
- 1:12:56[SPEAKER_00]: Well, he says the world cup is over where my team is still very much in it.
- 1:12:59[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, Viva Espania is playing on Friday.
- 1:13:05[SPEAKER_00]: So, we're pretty common, are we?
- 1:13:06[SPEAKER_00]: Wish me luck, yes, and yeah, the World Cup has been absolutely incredible.
- 1:13:14[SPEAKER_00]: It's been beyond my wildest.
- 1:13:18[SPEAKER_00]: dreams of of what it could be Of what it would be I was I was pretty down on it because the ticket prices and the thief of it all and the government of it all and all that kind of stuff But the tournament itself has been incredible the vibes around the tournament itself have been incredible
- 1:13:34[SPEAKER_00]: just it's been so cool to see like the American people shine when there's so much else all the noise that goes on around um that can cause sort of just like weird feelings it's just been it's been it's been great to see um you know the the just togetherness of of soccer that that that sports this is why we love sports right um it's just also been really fun to just have
- 1:14:02[SPEAKER_00]: to be able to watch every game without him to wake up early for them.
- 1:14:05[SPEAKER_00]: That's that's been awesome.
- 1:14:08[SPEAKER_00]: And even though it was really, really fun those first four games for the U.S. We're a lot of fun.
- 1:14:15[SPEAKER_00]: We can just act like the fifth game never happened and just put that out of our minds and treat it like a fever dream, like a fever nightmare actually.
- 1:14:32[SPEAKER_00]: I was thinking about the US as a team, US soccer, and I was so crushed after that game.
- 1:14:41[SPEAKER_00]: Like I just felt so deflated, and it reminded me of like, this is what USC does to me every year too.
- 1:14:53[SPEAKER_00]: And like it it it's specifically there's like a parallel for me there because every year we go in we talk about USC like we talk about USC is like a playoff team this year like
- 1:15:04[SPEAKER_00]: USC is a playoff team in the sense of like they're not one of the they're not the France or the Spain or the Portugal or something like that or Brazil even like they're not them but but they're sort of like a wine artist mentality around USC the same way that there was the wine artist mentality about the US soccer like and you play well you get some momentum going all the kind of stuff and then you run into a team that just sort of like
- 1:15:26[SPEAKER_00]: sits you on your ass and reminds you that you're not there.
- 1:15:31[SPEAKER_00]: So like my hope is that I don't go through this again with USC.
- 1:15:36[SPEAKER_00]: My suspicion is I will go through this again this year with USC.
- 1:15:40[SPEAKER_01]: But should Lincoln rarely go into Pachetino's back.
- 1:15:47[SPEAKER_01]: and where the where the the like mechanic shirt yeah the mechanic shirt yeah maybe he should maybe we maybe he should yeah yeah all right row and where he says big brother premier's tonight yes we've got to go watch that's also it's the end of love island malony
- 1:16:10[SPEAKER_01]: Ladies, ladies, ladies, goodnight, goodnight, goodnight, goodnight, goodnight, all right, we'll, we'll, we'll, we'll set up there.
- 1:16:19[SPEAKER_01]: I'll be next next week, uh, tune in then, uh, thank you guys for, for being here, appreciate, yes, sorry for the weird sound at the beginning.
- 1:16:29[SPEAKER_01]: If you listen to this on audio only, you have no idea what I'm talking about, but, imagine it, so, uh, until next time, we will see you.
- 1:16:39[SPEAKER_01]: See you!
