- 0:00Speaker 1: The Mark Simone Show on 710WOR. Hey, it's the final hour.
- 0:10Speaker 1: It's Tuesday. The election is seven days from now, exactly
- 0:15Speaker 1: one week from today. But don't wait. Start doing the
- 0:18Speaker 1: early voting. As you heard on the news, in New
- 0:21Speaker 1: York State, 1.2 million have already early voted. Now, the
- 0:25Speaker 1: early voters tend to be the Democrats. I don't know why,
- 0:28Speaker 1: but Republicans like to wait till Election Day. Maybe they're
- 0:31Speaker 1: just more traditional. But Democrats are great with the early voting. Republicans,
- 0:36Speaker 1: you've got to catch up. Get out there and vote early.
- 0:41Speaker 1: Early voting, much easier, much better. No lines. You get
- 0:45Speaker 1: it done. So do it. You can do it today
- 0:47Speaker 1: in New York, tomorrow. You can do it all week
- 0:49Speaker 1: long or on the weekend. Do the early voting. Around
- 0:53Speaker 1: the country, it's up to about 26 million people have
- 0:56Speaker 1: already early voted. So get out there and do it.
- 1:02Speaker 1: A lot going on. There's a Fed meeting that starts today.
- 1:05Speaker 1: It'll go for two days. We'll see if there's a
- 1:08Speaker 1: raid hike. They've got everybody out in the campaign trail.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Vice President Vance will head to Michigan today. Rogers was
- 1:19Speaker 1: a couple of points behind the crazy anti-Semitic El-Sayed. He's
- 1:24Speaker 1: caught up. But they're pushing hard. Vance... In Michigan again today,
- 1:29Speaker 1: President Trump's headed to Texas this afternoon. He'll be in
- 1:32Speaker 1: Corpus Christi, Texas, big rally. Then he'll do another rally
- 1:37Speaker 1: in Lubbock, Texas. He's like an energizer, bunny crazy, running
- 1:42Speaker 1: around the country doing all this stuff. Let's see, they're
- 1:47Speaker 1: surveying people at the polling places. 44% are voting Democrat. Again,
- 1:52Speaker 1: that's the early vote. Oh, wait a minute. Sorry, sorry, sorry.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Excuse me. I just saw it's a Marist poll. It's
- 1:58Speaker 1: an NPR poll. It's a PBS poll. It means the
- 2:02Speaker 1: metrics are slanted. It's totally rigged. So sorry. If they
- 2:07Speaker 1: say 44% are voting Democrat, that means it's 34% voting Democrat.
- 2:12Speaker 1: And all these rigged polls, these college polls, these media polls,
- 2:16Speaker 1: so rigged, so phony, all to suppress turnout. That's the
- 2:21Speaker 1: whole point of them. Do you remember that horrible road
- 2:25Speaker 1: rage incident? That ex-cop runs, tries to run this guy
- 2:32Speaker 1: off the road, takes out his gun, shoots him, kills him.
- 2:34Speaker 1: Very nice man, family man. And when it was time
- 2:38Speaker 1: to go to court, I guess because he's an ex-cop,
- 2:41Speaker 1: the court officer snuck him in, snuck him out. Well,
- 2:44Speaker 1: they finally got a photo of him. New York Post
- 2:46Speaker 1: just for the first time ever showed this guy's face.
- 2:49Speaker 1: They caught him coming into a courthouse. And they got
- 2:53Speaker 1: him outside. They were in the right spot as he
- 2:55Speaker 1: got out of the car. It's the first photograph that's
- 2:58Speaker 1: been made public of him. And his name is Victor Romero.
- 3:04Speaker 1: He's 62, ex-cop. Was working for a big company, driving
- 3:09Speaker 1: the CEO around. CEOs love to have ex-cops as drivers
- 3:14Speaker 1: because they got a gun. It's protection. They got a
- 3:16Speaker 1: badge in case you need to, you know, get through
- 3:19Speaker 1: a street that's closed or something like that. It works.
- 3:23Speaker 1: So he's been released on a million dollars bail. Yeah,
- 3:30Speaker 1: it's the only photo. He did make a court appearance.
- 3:32Speaker 1: They do have a photo if you want to see
- 3:33Speaker 1: what he looks like. New York Post just put it up.
- 3:38Speaker 1: The Apple Duo, that's the foldable phone. More people complaining.
- 3:42Speaker 1: You know what? Stop whining. Use your regular phone. Use
- 3:47Speaker 1: this iPhone 18. It's perfect. You don't need to unfold
- 3:51Speaker 1: it in them. If you want a screen that size,
- 3:54Speaker 1: get the iPad Mini. It's perfect. Works better than the Duo. Hey,
- 3:58Speaker 1: by the way, if you're going to get the iPhone Mini,
- 4:00Speaker 1: hang on. Apparently there's a new one coming out. They're
- 4:03Speaker 1: going to unveil a whole new one, much improved one,
- 4:06Speaker 1: in a week or two. So hold off on that.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Don't get it just yet. You know, they hate Elon Musk.
- 4:14Speaker 1: They hate Elon Musk so much. He's done two things
- 4:18Speaker 1: that Democrats... I think are despicable. One, he's donated to Republicans.
- 4:25Speaker 1: The other thing, of course, is Doge. He tried to
- 4:27Speaker 1: cut down government waste and fraud. And Democrats, well, Republicans too, Congress, government,
- 4:34Speaker 1: they love waste and fraud. It's the business model. You
- 4:38Speaker 1: give out huge contracts. You give them to unions, special
- 4:43Speaker 1: interest groups, donors. You tell them charges six times as much,
- 4:48Speaker 1: take 10 times longer than usual. put more people on
- 4:51Speaker 1: the job than you need. They do that in exchange
- 4:54Speaker 1: for donations, in exchange for whatever they need. But Musk
- 4:59Speaker 1: tried to bust up that government waste and fraud system.
- 5:02Speaker 1: You know, they got in these cabinet departments, you know,
- 5:06Speaker 1: the state department, they got 27,000 people working there. Nobody
- 5:09Speaker 1: knows what the hell they do. So they hate Musk.
- 5:13Speaker 1: They've been denouncing him, attacking him. And The other side
- 5:18Speaker 1: of Musk is a genius. He's Ben Franklin. He's Thomas Edison.
- 5:21Speaker 1: This guy's inventing stuff that's unbelievable. He perfected the electric car,
- 5:27Speaker 1: the Tesla. He's launching rockets into space. Remember when our
- 5:31Speaker 1: astronauts were stranded in the space station? We didn't know
- 5:34Speaker 1: how to get them down. Musk had to go up
- 5:36Speaker 1: there with his spaceships and get them down. He's perfected Starlink.
- 5:41Speaker 1: That's going to be the future of communication. By the way,
- 5:44Speaker 1: come back in 10 years, there'll be no cell towers anywhere.
- 5:47Speaker 1: It'll be all Starlink, which means perfect signal everywhere. No
- 5:51Speaker 1: dead zones. It'll all be coming from their satellites, the
- 5:54Speaker 1: cell service. The data centers, the AI, the data centers,
- 5:59Speaker 1: it's all going to be in space. Thanks to Musk.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Musk is inventing flying cars. Musk is inventing and perfecting everything.
- 6:07Speaker 1: It's like you're watching Thomas Edison. He's going to go
- 6:11Speaker 1: down in history as an incredible figure. But right now,
- 6:13Speaker 1: Democrats are trying to destroy the guy. So they attack
- 6:17Speaker 1: him left and right. They want to prosecute him. Well, now, look,
- 6:21Speaker 1: they're coming right out and saying it. This is Robert Reich.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Remember the Clinton guy, the little Clinton guy, Cabinet Secretary
- 6:27Speaker 1: Robert Reich, who used to be quite the respectable, you know,
- 6:33Speaker 1: legitimate sort of a figure. But now he's gone crazy
- 6:36Speaker 1: with the rest of the Democrats. You know, they were
- 6:39Speaker 1: talking about defund Musk. He is now saying this is
- 6:42Speaker 1: Robert Reich, major Democratic figure. He's saying the government should
- 6:47Speaker 1: seize Elon Musk's companies. He's not the only one. You're
- 6:51Speaker 1: going to hear more about this. Bernie Sanders, these types.
- 6:53Speaker 1: This is going to be the new thing. They want
- 6:55Speaker 1: the government to seize Starlink, to seize SpaceX, to actually
- 7:02Speaker 1: take control of Musk's companies. Reich says it should be
- 7:07Speaker 1: a public corporation. We should never have that kind of
- 7:10Speaker 1: power in one person's hands. Musk is trying to buy
- 7:13Speaker 1: the Senate from Texas. Why should we allow this? Well,
- 7:17Speaker 1: you're fine when Soros does it. You're fine when the
- 7:20Speaker 1: Democratic billionaire donors do it. They're buying elections all the time.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Reich says this is like what happened in the first
- 7:28Speaker 1: Gilded Age when we had robber barons. Well, robber barons,
- 7:33Speaker 1: that's what they ended up calling the Vanderbilts, the Rockefellers.
- 7:37Speaker 1: But these are the guys that built the country, basically,
- 7:40Speaker 1: the railroads, everything. I say this is exhibit A in
- 7:45Speaker 1: terms of a billionaire takeover of America. The oligarch problem.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Musk represents the power of oligarchy. But again, Soros has
- 7:58Speaker 1: given more money to politics than Musk ever has. Soros
- 8:02Speaker 1: has tampered with more things. Soros is the guy that
- 8:05Speaker 1: funded these crazy DAs that let all the criminals loose.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Soros is the guy that funded and got all these
- 8:11Speaker 1: crazy secretaries of state elected. that got rid of voter
- 8:14Speaker 1: ID and all that stuff. He's done more to damage
- 8:17Speaker 1: American democracy than anybody in history. But Reich goes on
- 8:23Speaker 1: to say, if we have a democratic administration and Democrats
- 8:27Speaker 1: ought to be starting this, not just with oversight hearings,
- 8:29Speaker 1: but laying the groundwork for nationalizing Starlink and SpaceX, nationalize it.
- 8:37Speaker 1: That means the government sees it. Musk on Twitter replied,
- 8:44Speaker 1: Stealing companies is a very serious crime. Should be prison
- 8:47Speaker 1: for Robert Reich. Prison. It's also, you know, they yell Hitler, Nazi.
- 8:52Speaker 1: This is what Hitler and Nazis do. They seize your company.
- 8:55Speaker 1: They seize your property. Hey, this Bob Woodward is an
- 8:59Speaker 1: interesting character. You know, there was Woodward and Bernstein. And,
- 9:04Speaker 1: of course, Watergate and all of that. And then over
- 9:06Speaker 1: the years, they split up. Carl Bernstein is kind of a,
- 9:09Speaker 1: I don't know, sort of a sleazy sort of a
- 9:11Speaker 1: character to some people. Uh, Woodward is be, you know,
- 9:16Speaker 1: continued as a respectable Washington journalist, writing his books and everything. But, uh,
- 9:23Speaker 1: there's a side of Bob Woodward. A lot of people
- 9:25Speaker 1: don't trust him at all. You know, uh, remember how
- 9:28Speaker 1: he got into the CIA director, William Casey's hospital bed
- 9:31Speaker 1: as he was dying and got secret confessions out of Kate. Well,
- 9:35Speaker 1: nobody believed that story. Casey was the CIA director, heavily guarded.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Nobody got into his hospital room. Like, so, People think
- 9:44Speaker 1: a lot of people think a lot of Woodward stuff
- 9:45Speaker 1: is made up. So he's written a new book, but, uh,
- 9:50Speaker 1: through the years, a guy like Woodward would have amazing
- 9:53Speaker 1: sources in Washington, D.C., people in government sources that tip
- 9:57Speaker 1: him off, leak stuff to him. All top journalists have that.
- 10:02Speaker 1: So Woodward is writing. It's a new book. It's 600 pages.
- 10:08Speaker 1: It's called Secrets, A Reporter's Memoir. That's a hell of
- 10:11Speaker 1: an ego, 600 pages. Who the hell wants to read
- 10:14Speaker 1: 600 pages? But he does something I've never seen before.
- 10:18Speaker 1: He reveals his sources. Woodward is 83 now, and many
- 10:23Speaker 1: of the sources are now dead. They've all died. So
- 10:27Speaker 1: he's revealing who they are. You know, it's the one
- 10:29Speaker 1: thing when you have a secret source, especially somebody in government,
- 10:33Speaker 1: you don't, you always protect their identity. Journalists go to
- 10:36Speaker 1: prison over that to protect the identity of the source.
- 10:39Speaker 1: He's revealing them. Now, there was that famous thing he
- 10:45Speaker 1: wrote about the final days of Nixon and the White House,
- 10:48Speaker 1: how Nixon was drunk, wandering around. At one point, he
- 10:52Speaker 1: made Henry Kissinger get on his knees with him, and
- 10:55Speaker 1: they both prayed. It was a very strange scene that
- 10:58Speaker 1: Woodward reported. He's now revealing it was two of Kissinger's
- 11:02Speaker 1: deputies who leaked it to him, Brent Scowcroft and Lawrence Eagleburg.
- 11:08Speaker 1: These are top government officials. Now, they're all dead. The
- 11:12Speaker 1: problem is you've got to trust Woodward. These guys are
- 11:15Speaker 1: all dead. They can't deny it. They're not around to
- 11:17Speaker 1: say it's not true. But in the book, Woodward says Scowcroft,
- 11:23Speaker 1: very respected figure, national security advisor, Gerald Ford and Bush Sr.
- 11:29Speaker 1: Woodward says the guy was a secret source for 35 years.
- 11:32Speaker 1: He was leaking stuff to me. Woodward also says, back
- 11:36Speaker 1: to the Nixon days, Watergate, all that, two of Nixon's
- 11:39Speaker 1: defense lawyers, Fred Buzzhardt, Leonard Garment, remember those names, were
- 11:44Speaker 1: secret sources revealing stuff to him. But again, These poor
- 11:49Speaker 1: guys are dead. They can't deny this stuff. So who knows?
- 11:51Speaker 1: You got to trust Woodward that this is true. He
- 11:55Speaker 1: also says Stanley Sporkin, CIA general counsel. These are big
- 11:59Speaker 1: government figures. Was an important special source leaking stuff. Sam Dash.
- 12:05Speaker 1: You remember him? He was the Senate Watergate Committee. Woodward
- 12:08Speaker 1: claims he was a leaker. Secret source giving him stuff. C.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Boyden Gray is a very distinguished guy. Washington figure. I mean,
- 12:17Speaker 1: a real swamp guy, but he was White House counsel.
- 12:21Speaker 1: George H.W. Bush. Woodward says during the Bush presidency and
- 12:26Speaker 1: vice presidency, he was leaking stuff to Woodward. But again,
- 12:29Speaker 1: I don't know. These guys aren't around to deny it.
- 12:32Speaker 1: Woodward could be just making that up. And even if
- 12:37Speaker 1: it's true, why would you reveal that these guys were
- 12:41Speaker 1: leaking stuff? I mean, these guys are... they got families,
- 12:45Speaker 1: they got kids, they got, I mean, why would you
- 12:47Speaker 1: do that? Why leak that out? Hey, don't forget coming
- 12:50Speaker 1: up Saturday night, it's Halloween Saturday night, but also we
- 12:54Speaker 1: go off daylight saving time Saturday night. Starting Sunday, it'll
- 12:57Speaker 1: be dark out at five o'clock and soon 4.30. We
- 13:01Speaker 1: go off daylight saving time Saturday night at two in
- 13:06Speaker 1: the morning. It becomes 1 a.m. So you'll gain an
- 13:09Speaker 1: hour of sleep Saturday night. Hey, Bill Maher, saying what
- 13:15Speaker 1: we've been saying, that if, if, it's a big if,
- 13:19Speaker 1: but let's say the Democrats win the House, win the Senate,
- 13:22Speaker 1: take over Congress. He says that will ruin them for
- 13:25Speaker 1: 2028 because they'll, according to Maher, they'll learn all the
- 13:30Speaker 1: wrong lessons. They'll start holding hearings every second on everybody.
- 13:35Speaker 1: They'll investigate Trump's grandchildren. They'll impeach Trump. They'll shut down drilling.
- 13:42Speaker 1: They'll do all kinds of crazy things. And that will
- 13:46Speaker 1: kill any chance they have in 2028. It will guarantee
- 13:50Speaker 1: a Republican president. So if, if, if Democrats win everything,
- 13:56Speaker 1: that's one bright side. Also, remember, here's a big article here.
- 14:02Speaker 1: These left-wingers are already writing, you know, if Trump loses
- 14:05Speaker 1: the midterms, if the midterms are all Democrats, that's the
- 14:08Speaker 1: end of the Trump era. That's it. Well, first of all,
- 14:11Speaker 1: every president loses the House and the Senate in the midterms.
- 14:14Speaker 1: It always happens, especially in the second term. It's tradition.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Nobody ever said, well, that's the end of Obama. That's
- 14:20Speaker 1: the end of Clinton. But things are different. Double standard.
- 14:24Speaker 1: It's Trump. Anyway, we've got a lot to get to.
- 14:29Speaker 1: We'll take some calls next. We love having new callers.
- 14:32Speaker 1: If you never called before, give us a call. 800-321-0710
- 14:34Speaker 1: is the number. 800-321-0710.
