Podcasthero.com. Welcome to The Daily Quote, the
• 0:06
podcast designed to kick start your day in a positive way.
• 0:10
I'm your host, Anna McGivern. And let's jump into today's
• 0:13
quote from Khalil Gibran, the Lebanese American poet and
• 0:18
philosopher best known for his book The Prophet.
• 0:22
He once wrote, kindness is like snow.
• 0:26
  It beautifies everything it covers.
• 0:29
Think about what happens when snow falls.
• 0:32
It doesn't discriminate. It covers everything equally.
• 0:36
The beautiful garden and the junk pile, the mansion and the
• 0:41
broken fence, the new car and the old shed.
• 0:46
And when the snow settles, everything looks better,
• 0:50
Cleaner, softer, more peaceful. That's what kindness does.
• 0:55
It doesn't judge what it touches.
• 0:57
It doesn't wait for someone to deserve it.
• 0:59
It just covers everything, the good, the bad, the ugly, and
• 1:04
makes it all a little more beautiful.
• 1:07
A kind word to someone who's struggling doesn't fix their
• 1:09
problem, but it makes the problem more bearable, softens
• 1:14
the edges. A kind gesture in a tense
• 1:17
situation doesn't resolve the conflict, but it makes the
• 1:20
conflict less harsh. It creates space for something
• 1:24
  better. Kindness transforms without
• 1:27
changing the facts. The junk pile is still there
• 1:31
under the snow, but it's covered in something beautiful.
• 1:35
  And here's what Gibran understood.
• 1:38
Kindness doesn't just beautify what it touches, it beautifies
• 1:42
the person giving it. When you choose kindness, you
• 1:45
become someone who makes the world softer, cleaner, more
• 1:51
  peaceful. Just like snow.
• 1:54
So here's the question, what could you cover with kindness
• 1:58
today? What rough edge could you
• 2:01
  soften? What ugliness could you
• 2:04
beautify? Because kindness is like snow.
• 2:07
It doesn't fix everything, but it makes everything a little
• 2:10
more beautiful. That's it for today.
• 2:13
I'm Anna McGivern, signing off for now, but I'll be back
