Dr. Xuhua Liang was born in a beautiful island in the southern China: Xiamen (Amoy), Fujian Province. During the political turmoil of Chinese Culture Revolution, her mother passed away. Raised by her grandparents, she was deeply influenced by her uncles and the Chinese traditional literature. Even though she only had a basic education for six years, she passed with flying color the rigorous national college entrance exam of China in 1977 and entered into the most prestigious language university in China: Beijing Foreign Languages Institute (today's Beijing Foreign Studies University).
