• 3:16
SPEAKER_07: What intriguing minds do want to know.
• 3:19
SPEAKER_07: And so we do have, you do have, you want to just say you have someone with you today?
• 3:23
SPEAKER_05: Yes, I have Brock Kirsten with me today, our marketing expert at Willow Lane Spa.
• 3:27
SPEAKER_05: So basically, if you've seen or know anything about Willow Lane Spa, it's genuinely it's Kirsten.
• 3:33
  SPEAKER_07: All right.
• 3:33
SPEAKER_07: So hey, for our listeners and followers, introduce yourself.
• 3:37
SPEAKER_07: Tell us who you are, a little bit about your background.
• 3:40
SPEAKER_05: So my name is Crystal Rivali.
• 3:42
SPEAKER_05: I'm from Litchfield originally, born and raised, graduated from there, raised my children there.
• 3:47
SPEAKER_05: We did, however, move away about 15 years ago.
• 3:51
SPEAKER_05: We left for about a decade and had the opportunity to live in several different parts of the country.
• 3:57
  SPEAKER_05: So that's been amazing.
• 3:58
SPEAKER_05: But then that allowed me to, I've always had an interest in aesthetics, but whenever we moved to Arizona, I decided then I was like, I'm in the epicenter of resorts, education, wellness.
• 4:12
SPEAKER_05: And that's why I decided to take the leap and go ahead and pursue my aesthetic career even deeper.
• 4:17
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, while we were out in Arizona, I did my schooling out there, straight out of school, acquired my first spa job.
• 4:24
  SPEAKER_05: It was Spa Nordstrom.
• 4:25
SPEAKER_07: So you guys and for Nordstrom, like the national company Nordstrom.
• 4:29
  SPEAKER_05: Yes, and big time.
• 4:30
  SPEAKER_07: Wow.
• 4:31
  SPEAKER_07: I've been to Nordstrom.
• 4:32
SPEAKER_07: I am in all of America.
• 4:34
  SPEAKER_05: That's what I'm saying.
• 4:35
SPEAKER_05: Big dog, big time, big dreams.
• 4:37
  SPEAKER_05: Crystal.
• 4:37
  SPEAKER_07: Let's go.
• 4:38
  SPEAKER_05: Okay, let's go.
• 4:39
  SPEAKER_05: Go on.
• 4:39
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, but Nordstrom, that was an amazing opportunity because they have all of their Nordstrom stores, but they actually only have 12 spas.
• 4:45
  SPEAKER_05: Oh, wow.
• 4:46
SPEAKER_05: In some of their more elite locations.
• 4:48
SPEAKER_05: So it was an amazing opportunity to advance and grow.
• 4:51
SPEAKER_05: I got to meet celebrity aestheticians, do some training with them.
• 4:55
SPEAKER_05: I was introduced to Hydrofacial at that time.
• 4:58
SPEAKER_07: Which you guys have hydrofacial.
• 4:59
  SPEAKER_05: We do have Hydrofacial.
• 5:01
  SPEAKER_05: We do.
• 5:01
  SPEAKER_05: I'm a super fan.
• 5:02
SPEAKER_05: But yeah, I got to experience that whole spa industry, how a business works.
• 5:07
SPEAKER_05: Their spa was set up in a day spa type of way, which is what we do at Willow in Lichfield.
• 5:12
  SPEAKER_07: Versus a night spa?
• 5:13
  SPEAKER_07: So a night spa.
• 5:14
SPEAKER_07: So day spa versus night spa.
• 5:16
SPEAKER_05: What's the I don't know, but my gears are already let's free business.
• 5:20
  SPEAKER_05: That's not for you.
• 5:21
  SPEAKER_05: I take notes.
• 5:22
SPEAKER_05: So would a day spa be like you're you can't stay the night there, is basically what you're saying, or books or weekends and day spa.
• 5:30
SPEAKER_05: As of right now, we don't have overnight visits.
• 5:33
SPEAKER_07: Is there such a thing as an overnight spa?
• 5:35
SPEAKER_05: No, but what we mean by day spa is so you probably heard the term med spa and then you've heard day spa.
• 5:40
SPEAKER_05: Okay, got it, got it.
• 5:41
SPEAKER_05: Day spa can gear towards more of your relaxation type services or med spa gets into gets into more advanced services of micro-eneveling, injections, suction cups, injectables, what do they call those billers?
• 5:54
SPEAKER_05: We don't do that there.
• 5:55
  SPEAKER_05: Botox.
• 5:56
SPEAKER_05: Well, why are we pointing at me?
• 5:58
  SPEAKER_05: No, I'm just kidding.
• 5:59
SPEAKER_05: Okay, so I like that.
• 6:00
SPEAKER_05: So a day spa, you're focusing on the health of your skin and the wellness of your my.
• 6:07
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, we're looking to take a more natural approach so you can prolong delay or not even have to use the film.
• 6:14
  SPEAKER_05: Injectable injectable at all.
• 6:16
SPEAKER_07: So Caitlin needs to come visit you more often.
• 6:18
  SPEAKER_05: No, Caitlin's fabulous.
• 6:20
  SPEAKER_05: She is fabulous.
• 6:21
SPEAKER_05: You can look, it's three against one here, buddy.
• 6:23
SPEAKER_07: I'm trust me, I grew up in a house that way.
• 6:25
  SPEAKER_07: I am fine.
• 6:26
  SPEAKER_07: You're prepared.
• 6:28
SPEAKER_07: I was the baby of two older sisters and a mother, and I was fine.
• 6:32
  SPEAKER_07: I'm good.
• 6:32
SPEAKER_05: So this actually explains a lot of why you're so sweet.
• 6:36
  SPEAKER_07: I try.
• 6:37
  SPEAKER_07: Thank you.
• 6:37
SPEAKER_07: What do you butter me up for?
• 6:39
SPEAKER_07: Oh, you got Cobo's position.
• 6:40
SPEAKER_07: What do you want to do?
• 6:41
  SPEAKER_05: I know, I'm just saying.
• 6:42
SPEAKER_05: But no, I agree because I think that I'm glad that you're here because I don't think it's educated enough to women how important it is to start this young.
• 6:55
  SPEAKER_05: Oh, yeah, very sorry.
• 6:56
SPEAKER_07: Wait, is oh well, is Willowlane Spa open to men?
• 6:58
SPEAKER_05: Yes, we do accept male clients.
• 7:00
SPEAKER_05: Do you get we do?
• 7:02
SPEAKER_05: We actually and even we have male clients and even like our younger or teenagers, early 20s, we have more guys than women, to be honest.
• 7:09
  SPEAKER_07: We do.
• 7:12
SPEAKER_07: So what inspired you to open Willow Lane Spa?
• 7:15
SPEAKER_05: Okay, so my journey, Arizona, while I loved my time at Nordstrom, at the end of the day, it's still a retail environment.
• 7:23
SPEAKER_05: So there were weekends and evenings that don't necessarily jive with my lifestyle.
• 7:28
  SPEAKER_06: Right.
• 7:29
SPEAKER_05: So I was taking the opportunity, I was actually getting ready to start a business in Phoenix.
• 7:34
SPEAKER_05: A long story short, our journey's brought us back home.
• 7:37
SPEAKER_05: Life happened and life happens, and we're back to central Illinois, and we had some property here that we had kept.
• 7:42
SPEAKER_05: So we moved back into that, started renovating, insert big dog in Elite.
• 7:46
  SPEAKER_05: Yes, it's a true story.
• 7:48
SPEAKER_05: Yes, it is a true story.
• 7:49
  SPEAKER_05: True story.
• 7:49
SPEAKER_05: But yeah, so anyway, back to Litchfield.
• 7:52
  SPEAKER_05: So it's my hometown.
• 7:53
SPEAKER_05: I knew there was not a full service spa like I was wanting to create being offered in our area that I was aware of or that I'm aware of.
• 8:00
SPEAKER_05: So yeah, we just you could start a business anywhere.
• 8:03
SPEAKER_05: So we just we found a great property, a nice little location.
• 8:06
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, a nice storefront that every time I would drive by, I say I have an interest in real estate as well.
• 8:10
SPEAKER_05: But every time I would drive past that building, I was just like, what a pretty calling it.
• 8:16
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and then two weeks later for rant sign went in the yard.
• 8:19
  SPEAKER_05: So here we are.
• 8:20
SPEAKER_05: I remember driving by it when you first started renovating it.
• 8:23
SPEAKER_05: I'm telling you what, I immediately got on the phone to Kath, my mom.
• 8:27
  SPEAKER_05: Kath.
• 8:27
  SPEAKER_05: Yeah, Kath.
• 8:28
SPEAKER_05: I'm like, oh my god, there's a spa coming.
• 8:30
SPEAKER_05: And just your aesthetics and the view you have, you can tell that you're into real estate and homes as well because it's so beautiful in there.
• 8:38
  SPEAKER_05: And it's relaxing.
• 8:39
  SPEAKER_05: Thank you.
• 8:41
  SPEAKER_07: Location, location, location.
• 8:43
  SPEAKER_05: For sure.
• 8:44
SPEAKER_07: That's what they say in business, right?
• 8:45
  SPEAKER_07: That's the key location.
• 8:46
SPEAKER_07: And it's right on the right.
• 8:48
  SPEAKER_05: Is that Route 66?
• 8:50
  SPEAKER_05: No, it's Union.
• 8:52
  SPEAKER_05: Highway 16.
• 8:54
SPEAKER_07: 66 is further west of that.
• 8:55
  SPEAKER_05: Okay, okay.
• 8:56
SPEAKER_07: So give a shout out your address.
• 8:58
  SPEAKER_05: 317 West Union Avenue.
• 9:00
SPEAKER_05: So if you're familiar with Pizza Hut and or not Pizza Pizza.
• 9:02
  SPEAKER_07: Pizza Mayan.
• 9:03
  SPEAKER_07: Pizza Rough, yeah.
• 9:05
  SPEAKER_05: It was just a one-word difference.
• 9:06
  SPEAKER_05: Okay.
• 9:06
  SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
• 9:07
  SPEAKER_05: Pizza Mayan.
• 9:07
  SPEAKER_05: Pizza Man in Lynchfield.
• 9:09
  SPEAKER_07: In front of O'Reilly's.
• 9:10
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, in front of O'Reilly's, but we're in that parking lot right there.
• 9:13
  SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
• 9:13
SPEAKER_07: And I love your pizza.
• 9:15
  SPEAKER_07: It's beautiful.
• 9:16
  SPEAKER_07: I know.
• 9:17
SPEAKER_07: So how long have you been how long has Willow Lane Spa been at this location or been in existence?
• 9:23
SPEAKER_05: Willow Lane started in 2020 at an island in my not an island, but my kitchen is a tropical island, if you can picture Tropical Islands my kitchen island in Arizona.
• 9:34
SPEAKER_05: But it the business starts so early on.
• 9:37
SPEAKER_05: There's branding, choosing your colors, your website, like your offerings, everything you're gonna offer.
• 9:42
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, everything you're gonna offer.
• 9:44
  SPEAKER_05: Your mission.
• 9:45
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, preparing to interview to bring on staff.
• 9:47
SPEAKER_05: So for one year it was a lot of preparation behind the desk.
• 9:51
SPEAKER_05: And then we acquired the building.
• 9:53
SPEAKER_05: So then it was many months of renovation and colors and painting.
• 9:58
SPEAKER_05: And my husband was an amazing part of that journey.
• 10:01
  SPEAKER_05: He's my old contractor.
• 10:02
  SPEAKER_05: I love it.
• 10:03
  SPEAKER_07: That's right.
• 10:04
  SPEAKER_05: And I think it's very important.
• 10:05
SPEAKER_05: And we talk about this a lot on the podcast, but how colors are so important to affect your mood or especially with business owners, especially in your line of work.
• 10:16
SPEAKER_05: You want you can't have a big bright red like ceiling.
• 10:20
  SPEAKER_05: And something you said.
• 10:22
SPEAKER_05: Your beautiful ceiling, remember what we saw?
• 10:24
  SPEAKER_05: Oh, yeah.
• 10:26
SPEAKER_05: And you thought of this.
• 10:27
SPEAKER_05: Oh, yeah, as a business owner.
• 10:29
SPEAKER_05: Most of my clients are going to be laying down.
• 10:30
  SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
• 10:31
SPEAKER_05: They don't want to look at they are laying down.
• 10:33
SPEAKER_05: Their eyes are closed a lot of times, but they're not always.
• 10:36
SPEAKER_05: You need a lovely ceiling to look at as well.
• 10:38
SPEAKER_05: So we put in some nice pictures, great ceiling tiles.
• 10:41
SPEAKER_05: You care about your clients.
• 10:42
SPEAKER_07: We do the mood and all of that.
• 10:45
SPEAKER_05: And yeah, that I also want to bring something else up.
• 10:48
  SPEAKER_05: It's a little compliment.
• 10:50
SPEAKER_05: So I'm thinking about I remember when I had first met you, you talking about being in Arizona and starting off there.
• 10:56
SPEAKER_05: I guess I didn't realize an order strum, and you're sitting here telling me celebrity aestheticians.
• 11:01
SPEAKER_05: Like I love that you have brought this from another part of the country that is, like you said, we know this golf resort spas with Arizona.
• 11:12
SPEAKER_05: And you've brought that I'm gonna say this specialty niche.
• 11:16
SPEAKER_05: Is it niche or niche?
• 11:17
  SPEAKER_06: Niche.
• 11:17
  SPEAKER_06: Okay.
• 11:18
  SPEAKER_05: Depends on your from.
• 11:19
  SPEAKER_06: True.
• 11:20
  SPEAKER_06: True.
• 11:20
  SPEAKER_06: It is true.
• 11:21
  SPEAKER_06: What do you say?
• 11:21
  SPEAKER_06: Uh niche?
• 11:23
SPEAKER_05: I like to say niche.
• 11:24
  SPEAKER_05: Niche.
• 11:25
  SPEAKER_05: Thank you guys.
• 11:25
SPEAKER_05: I've been attacked by grammar Nazis before.
• 11:27
  SPEAKER_07: Oh, two, three.
• 11:31
SPEAKER_07: Crystal, you didn't say it.
• 11:33
  SPEAKER_05: Sorry, one more time.
• 11:33
  SPEAKER_07: One, two, three.
• 11:34
  SPEAKER_07: Niche.
• 11:34
  SPEAKER_07: All right.
• 11:35
  SPEAKER_07: Awesome.
• 11:36
SPEAKER_05: I know Kristen was saying it in her head too.
• 11:37
  SPEAKER_05: I could tell you.
• 11:38
  SPEAKER_05: I heard it.
• 11:38
SPEAKER_07: I heard it over here.
• 11:39
SPEAKER_05: But to bring that to mid-Illinois is something very special because you know that is I'm not dogging anybody around here.
• 11:49
SPEAKER_05: But to bring it from somewhere like that when you're really learning the profession from the professionals, yeah, here is a different.
• 11:56
SPEAKER_05: I think many of us know that a lot of fads and things begin on the east or west coast and then that makes our their way to the middle.
• 12:03
SPEAKER_05: Um rather it's a very good thing.
• 12:05
SPEAKER_05: That is the west decorating, whatever.
• 12:07
SPEAKER_05: It's just the way it works.
• 12:08
SPEAKER_05: So yes, I do feel like it's been advantageous for us to.
• 12:13
SPEAKER_05: I've been exposed to a lot of what's going on the West Coast.
• 12:16
SPEAKER_05: And even though it's in Arizona, I do most of the businesses that we our vendors that we work with at the spa, so many of them are right there on the West Coast in California.
• 12:25
  SPEAKER_05: So it's just it's a very forward-thinking way of doing things.
• 12:28
  SPEAKER_05: Okay.
• 12:29
SPEAKER_07: Were you able to use your relationships that you had from working with Northstones to bring those?
• 12:34
  SPEAKER_07: I still do.
• 12:34
SPEAKER_05: I was just on the phone with my hydrofacial girl last week.
• 12:38
SPEAKER_05: Yes, I have veryone needs a hydrofacial.
• 12:40
  SPEAKER_05: Yes.
• 12:41
SPEAKER_05: I think we need to I need a hydrofacial.
• 12:43
  SPEAKER_05: Let's go into hydrofacial.
• 12:46
  SPEAKER_07: Let's one on this.
• 12:48
SPEAKER_07: For those that don't know about Willow Lane Spa, why don't you walk us through some of the services that you have there?
• 12:53
  SPEAKER_05: Sure.
• 12:53
  SPEAKER_05: So definitely hydrofacial.
• 12:54
SPEAKER_05: When we opened Willow Lane Spa, it was just me.
• 12:57
SPEAKER_05: So I was doing facial services across the board by myself.
• 13:00
SPEAKER_05: Um but as we grew, we knew we wanted to bring in more services and growth.
• 13:05
SPEAKER_05: I have, I'm actually trying to actually quite successfully led myself out of the treatment room.
• 13:10
  SPEAKER_05: I'm about 95% out.
• 13:11
SPEAKER_05: So I brought in another correct because I just I want to focus on the business so I can grow.
• 13:17
SPEAKER_05: So I want to bring in a team of individuals so they can grow themselves.
• 13:20
SPEAKER_05: Like I just have I can tell that you do that.
• 13:23
SPEAKER_05: Individuals that come work for me, but I want them to be their own boss and in charge of their own destiny and making what they do their own so that I can go do this.
• 13:31
SPEAKER_05: I love aesthetics, but I love right.
• 13:33
SPEAKER_07: You started out as a solopreneur.
• 13:35
  SPEAKER_05: Yes.
• 13:35
SPEAKER_07: And now you're a true entrepreneur because you have employees that you are affecting their lives.
• 13:39
  SPEAKER_07: No, that's true.
• 13:40
SPEAKER_05: That is the definition going from a solopreneur to a I'm in tears because that's so sweet, and it reminds me of what you're doing for me.
• 13:46
  SPEAKER_07: Oh, yeah.
• 13:48
  SPEAKER_05: Look at you two.
• 13:51
SPEAKER_07: Here's what's interesting too, and we'll get back to your all your services you have, is that you have done what my vision was for Big Dog was we're stuck right in the middle of Springfield and St.
• 14:02
  SPEAKER_07: Louis.
• 14:02
  SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
• 14:03
SPEAKER_07: Big metro, almost big metro, but you either got to drive an hour that way or an hour that way.
• 14:08
SPEAKER_07: And I wanted to bring the best of both here.
• 14:10
  SPEAKER_07: Yes.
• 14:11
SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I think that's how many she's brought from west coast to east coast to here from the city.
• 14:15
  SPEAKER_05: Yeah, really.
• 14:16
SPEAKER_05: If you sink in between Springfield and say it's us, it's you.
• 14:21
  SPEAKER_05: It's us.
• 14:21
  SPEAKER_05: That's right.
• 14:22
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, it's all yeah, all businesses.
• 14:24
SPEAKER_07: And so that, so what's your most popular service that you have at Willow Lane Spa?
• 14:29
SPEAKER_05: It probably it's hydrofacial, but I'll tell you, people love the head spa.
• 14:32
SPEAKER_05: So we'll just segue right into that.
• 14:34
SPEAKER_05: Okay, offer head spa services.
• 14:36
  SPEAKER_05: Yeah, what is that?
• 14:36
  SPEAKER_07: I'm intrigued.
• 14:37
SPEAKER_07: Because if it has anything to do with this, oh, I'm all about that.
• 14:40
SPEAKER_05: That's exactly what it has to do.
• 14:42
SPEAKER_05: His foot's gonna start going like this.
• 14:44
  SPEAKER_05: Some legitimate over here.
• 14:46
SPEAKER_05: But yeah, head spa was one of the next services that we brought on.
• 14:49
SPEAKER_05: How can I explain it?
• 14:51
SPEAKER_05: If you've seen any of our videos, you basically you just you lay down on a table, you get to relax, your head is elevated over a kind of a sham fancy shampoo bowl, if you will.
• 15:00
SPEAKER_05: But there's like a halo water treatment that goes over your head, and then your technician will just get in there and they'll that's not the hydrofacial.
• 15:08
  SPEAKER_05: That's not the hydrofacial.
• 15:08
SPEAKER_07: So we saw when we toured your facility last week.
• 15:11
SPEAKER_05: That's not I saw the Yeah, you saw the table, just you didn't get to see the table in action.
• 15:16
  SPEAKER_05: Correct.
• 15:18
SPEAKER_05: I'll have you back in.
• 15:19
SPEAKER_05: Boy, that is a real and all the pressure points.
• 15:22
  SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
• 15:23
SPEAKER_05: So not only is it relaxing though, but your technician, they're trained cosmetologists and a cosmetologist and aesthetician both do the service.
• 15:30
SPEAKER_05: But they're just they're trained to understand the scalp and the situations that are going on in the hair.
• 15:35
SPEAKER_05: We have a special camera that'll go down into the scalp, and you can actually see the follicle.
• 15:40
SPEAKER_05: You can see what's ailing your scalp and what you need to work on to so it's relaxing and it's beneficial both.
• 15:48
SPEAKER_05: So for growth helps, yeah, it helps with everything.
• 15:51
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, breakage, hair health, itching, dandruff, oily scalp, hair loss.
• 15:56
SPEAKER_05: Maybe I just said that.
• 15:57
  SPEAKER_05: But that's okay.
• 15:58
SPEAKER_07: You can say it twice.
• 15:59
SPEAKER_05: It could it just it helps to eliminate those things.
• 16:03
SPEAKER_05: No, look, I already was like this.
• 16:05
SPEAKER_07: Yeah, Caitlin's mouth, wide open, drop.
• 16:08
  SPEAKER_07: Yeah, exactly.
• 16:09
SPEAKER_05: What made you And see I didn't know that.
• 16:11
SPEAKER_07: So this is good info to what made you want to bring the head spa service to your Willow Lane spa?
• 16:16
SPEAKER_05: Because it was popping on the East and West Coast.
• 16:18
SPEAKER_05: So I just I knew about it.
• 16:19
  SPEAKER_05: Forward thinker.
• 16:20
  SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
• 16:20
  SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
• 16:21
  SPEAKER_05: So I just we weren't sure.
• 16:22
SPEAKER_05: We thought it could be fad-ish because you never know a lot of time.
• 16:25
  SPEAKER_05: Sometimes it's a temporary fad, but I don't think it's going to be.
• 16:28
SPEAKER_05: So I'd say it's our most, and in fact, our most popular service is the head spa facial combination.
• 16:33
  SPEAKER_05: Right.
• 16:33
SPEAKER_05: Where you get the head spa treatment and a mini facial as well.
• 16:36
SPEAKER_05: And then hydrofacial, while it's for your face, there's also hydroscalp.
• 16:41
SPEAKER_05: So they can take that service.
• 16:43
SPEAKER_05: I'm pretending I have the wand in my hand, but there's a device that you use to pull the impurities out of your skin.
• 16:48
SPEAKER_05: You can also take that into the scalp as well.
• 16:50
SPEAKER_05: So it's just it goes down deeper into the surface and pulls out the gunk that is creating your ailments.
• 16:58
SPEAKER_05: And then we go back in with a series of the appropriate serums.
• 17:03
SPEAKER_05: And I like how you said appropriate because it's different for everyone.
• 17:06
SPEAKER_07: I was gonna say, so yeah, it is different for everyone.
• 17:08
SPEAKER_05: Yes, and everything is customized because it won't work.
• 17:12
SPEAKER_05: We have to like it has to be specific.
• 17:14
SPEAKER_07: I mean, like the grays going on over here.
• 17:17
SPEAKER_05: I did I didn't even tell you I have two new, I've never had gray hair.
• 17:20
  SPEAKER_07: Hold on.
• 17:20
SPEAKER_05: No, I thought grey well, it's grown its place.
• 17:22
  SPEAKER_07: Hold on.
• 17:23
SPEAKER_07: I never pulled the one in my head.
• 17:25
  SPEAKER_07: Lies.
• 17:26
SPEAKER_05: You're scrolling through social media.
• 17:28
SPEAKER_05: You see all these products to clear your scalp.
• 17:31
  SPEAKER_05: Yes.
• 17:32
SPEAKER_05: You don't know what works and what doesn't.
• 17:34
SPEAKER_05: It helps to have a professional to guide you.
• 17:37
SPEAKER_05: Especially right here in town.
• 17:38
SPEAKER_05: And you can customize to use.
• 17:40
SPEAKER_05: Yes, and I hate to say it, and I'm going to, but like the products that you're using from Walmart, Walgreens could be causing even more damage.
• 17:49
  SPEAKER_05: Irritation here's a good thing.
• 17:51
SPEAKER_07: We're going to do a quick segue on how people get a hold of your.
• 17:54

• 18:33
SPEAKER_07: Slip into their DMs in the proper appropriate way.
• 18:37
SPEAKER_05: So another thing I would like to bring up.
• 18:40
  SPEAKER_07: Oh, here she goes.
• 18:41
SPEAKER_05: I because you just said they can people can spend a whole day there.
• 18:46
  SPEAKER_06: Oh yeah.
• 18:46
SPEAKER_05: What about like wedding parties?
• 18:48
SPEAKER_05: Is that like a popular thing that you Yes, that's that's something we started to offer last year, so we'll have uh wedding parties.
• 18:55
  SPEAKER_05: I'll just read it.
• 18:56
  SPEAKER_05: Yeah, it can be.
• 18:57
  SPEAKER_05: It's up to them.
• 18:58
  unknown: Sure.
• 18:59
  SPEAKER_05: We customize that too.
• 19:00
SPEAKER_05: So sometimes we'll shut down the spa and the it's for the brides or the bride party.
• 19:07
SPEAKER_05: No, all the brides at once.
• 19:09
SPEAKER_05: And then we also um my mind's turning a little bit here because I want to go back to your expertise in Arizona that you brought.
• 19:18
SPEAKER_05: Guys, you're watching on camera.
• 19:20
SPEAKER_05: We do ours and girls.
• 19:21
SPEAKER_06: When they're children, dogs, cats.
• 19:24
  SPEAKER_05: I mean Crystal.
• 19:27
SPEAKER_07: We let's all we will go.
• 19:28
SPEAKER_07: We're just like whatever works.
• 19:30
  SPEAKER_05: Crystal is a grandmother.
• 19:32
SPEAKER_07: I'm gonna be a grandpa in August.
• 19:34
  SPEAKER_05: Okay.
• 19:35
SPEAKER_05: I didn't know if that was out and about or not.
• 19:36
  SPEAKER_05: What?
• 19:37
  SPEAKER_05: We told me.
• 19:39
  SPEAKER_05: You I didn't drop Congratulations.
• 19:43
  SPEAKER_05: You get all gone.
• 19:45
SPEAKER_05: Are we allowed to say what it is?
• 19:47
  SPEAKER_07: No, today's the 20 week.
• 19:48
SPEAKER_07: So they're actually going for the big three-hour let's take pictures.
• 19:53
SPEAKER_05: I didn't know if we were saying it out loud on the website.
• 19:55
SPEAKER_07: So it dropped on today's podcast that yes, I'm a grandpa.
• 19:59
  SPEAKER_07: Oh yeah, oh yeah.
• 20:00
  SPEAKER_07: Oh yeah.
• 20:01
SPEAKER_07: She's slept since then, folks.
• 20:02
  SPEAKER_07: It's okay.
• 20:03
SPEAKER_05: Oh, but the reason why I was saying Chris was a grandma.
• 20:06
SPEAKER_05: You guys, what grandma do you know?
• 20:09
  SPEAKER_07: Squirrel.
• 20:10
  SPEAKER_05: That looks like this.
• 20:11
  SPEAKER_05: Look at this skin.
• 20:12
SPEAKER_05: It's proof in the pudding right here.
• 20:14
SPEAKER_07: And we're not gonna say ages.
• 20:15
  SPEAKER_07: We don't do that.
• 20:16
  SPEAKER_05: No, we don't.
• 20:16
  SPEAKER_05: No, we can't.
• 20:17
  SPEAKER_05: I'm gonna be 50 this weekend.
• 20:18
SPEAKER_05: And I feel like awesome.
• 20:20
  SPEAKER_07: That is great.
• 20:22
SPEAKER_05: You guys are like the same.
• 20:23
  SPEAKER_05: Is she 52?
• 20:24
  SPEAKER_05: Yeah, 50 as well.
• 20:25
  SPEAKER_05: Yes.
• 20:26
  SPEAKER_05: Okay.
• 20:27
  SPEAKER_05: Beautiful skin.
• 20:28
  SPEAKER_05: And you've you've done it naturally.
• 20:31
SPEAKER_05: Like we said, proof and the pudding.
• 20:33
  SPEAKER_07: That's right.
• 20:34
  SPEAKER_05: That's kind of a good thing.
• 20:34
SPEAKER_05: Tell us about your skincare.
• 20:36
  SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
• 20:36
SPEAKER_07: How long have you taken your skincare as in I know I need to do something, right?
• 20:42
SPEAKER_05: Sometimes skincare isn't always positive.
• 20:46
SPEAKER_05: When I say that I've been interested in skincare for a long time, but actually only went in, di dove into the education part of it to become an esthetician.
• 20:54
SPEAKER_05: I guess it's been six years ago now.
• 20:55
  SPEAKER_05: Okay.
• 20:56
  SPEAKER_05: Oh, okay.
• 20:56
SPEAKER_05: But when I was in my early 20s, 20, and I had my firstborn, something happened, hormones, but I just I started to break out.
• 21:04
SPEAKER_05: And then it just it got worse and it got worse.
• 21:07
SPEAKER_05: And then I had the baby and it got worse.
• 21:09
SPEAKER_05: And it just it's a big reacting, right?
• 21:12
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, there's four different stages of acne, and it started off at one, and then stage four goes into cystic acne, which is actually incredibly painful.
• 21:20
SPEAKER_05: It takes weeks for one lesion to even go away.
• 21:23
  SPEAKER_05: It hurts even better.
• 21:26
SPEAKER_05: It's a fancy word for big zids.
• 21:27
  SPEAKER_06: That's right.
• 21:28
SPEAKER_05: I have one that hurts right here.
• 21:29
SPEAKER_05: But you can't see it.
• 21:30
SPEAKER_05: But that I struggled with that acne for 20 years.
• 21:36
SPEAKER_05: And I would go see aestheticians, dermatologists.
• 21:40
SPEAKER_05: I even went as far as Accutane, which is an extremely potent medicine that's so horrible for your entire body.
• 21:46
  SPEAKER_05: That didn't work.
• 21:47
  SPEAKER_05: And your mind.
• 21:48
  SPEAKER_05: And your mind.
• 21:49
  SPEAKER_05: Fortunately, I I don't know.
• 21:50
SPEAKER_05: Maybe I'm not going to be able to do that.
• 21:52
SPEAKER_05: Doesn't it cut as side depression?
• 21:54
  SPEAKER_05: It can.
• 21:54
  SPEAKER_05: It definitely can.
• 21:55
SPEAKER_05: So yeah, I mean do anything to try to get rid of it.
• 21:57
  SPEAKER_05: But you absolutely will.
• 21:58
  SPEAKER_05: And it's your face.
• 21:59
  SPEAKER_05: It's your face.
• 22:00
SPEAKER_05: First impression, it's what everyone sees.
• 22:02
SPEAKER_05: You can cover up your whole body, but change your confidence as well if you depend on how you will, and especially as an adult, I feel like it's expected as a teen, right?
• 22:13
SPEAKER_05: You're gonna grow out of it, but then when you become an adult and you grow into it, yeah.
• 22:18
SPEAKER_07: So let's dive in that a little deeper.
• 22:20
SPEAKER_07: So did you feel your confidence level less?
• 22:23
  SPEAKER_05: Oh, yeah.
• 22:24
SPEAKER_07: Because of the absolutely, absolutely.
• 22:26
SPEAKER_05: And I gotta tell you, I'm so grateful social media wasn't even a thing when I was going through most of that because that would have been really tough.
• 22:32
  SPEAKER_07: Sure.
• 22:32
  SPEAKER_07: Right.
• 22:33
  SPEAKER_07: Sure.
• 22:33
  SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
• 22:33
SPEAKER_07: So was is that what made you think maybe got into it a little bit more because of it?
• 22:38
SPEAKER_05: I was forced to learn about it because I was trying to solve my own problems.
• 22:41
SPEAKER_05: So that that that turned into a lot of self-education.
• 22:44
SPEAKER_05: When we the first time we moved, we had gone to Washington State.
• 22:47
SPEAKER_05: I'm re-establishing relationships, trying to find my esthetician.
• 22:51
  SPEAKER_05: I went, I found her.
• 22:52
SPEAKER_05: She, the only thing she did for me is something that no other esthetician had, and she put me on a series of multivitamins.
• 22:57
SPEAKER_05: My skin was clear in two weeks, and my skin had been clear ever since.
• 23:01
  SPEAKER_07: Wow.
• 23:02
SPEAKER_05: So really just it's it's a lot of troubleshooting.
• 23:07
SPEAKER_05: It's teamwork, it's finding your person, it's sticking with what you're doing.
• 23:11
SPEAKER_05: It's continuing to use the products at home.
• 23:13
SPEAKER_05: 80% of your skincare success is gonna be what you're doing at home.
• 23:17
SPEAKER_07: Are you still in supplements today?
• 23:18
SPEAKER_05: I don't really take the supplements anymore.
• 23:20
  SPEAKER_05: I still take a probiotic because I just think that's critical.
• 23:24
  SPEAKER_05: I agree.
• 23:24
  SPEAKER_05: I agree.
• 23:25
SPEAKER_05: I would put everyone on a probiotic.
• 23:26
  SPEAKER_05: Same.
• 23:27
SPEAKER_05: You're gonna lay on my table and I'm gonna be like, take a probiotic.
• 23:29
  SPEAKER_05: I think it's really important.
• 23:30
SPEAKER_05: And I truly think that for me it was a gut issue.
• 23:33
  SPEAKER_07: Sure.
• 23:33
SPEAKER_05: You know, but again, inside out.
• 23:36
SPEAKER_05: Like you gotta heal from the inside out.
• 23:37
SPEAKER_05: I mean no matter what it is.
• 23:39
SPEAKER_07: Grant Cardone has the 10x health division where I've done the my supplements I take every morning are microbeads, where they are done on my genetic makeup and help supplement what my DNA is missing.
• 23:52
  SPEAKER_05: I need that.
• 23:53
SPEAKER_05: Well, they probably all need that.
• 23:54
  SPEAKER_05: No, it's and that's the thing.
• 23:55
SPEAKER_07: It's literally so most blood work that's done, they do 30 to 40 type tracking things or whatever in your body.
• 24:02
  SPEAKER_07: This one did 77.
• 24:05
  SPEAKER_07: Now it's like 120.
• 24:06
SPEAKER_07: They literally are breaking down what is wrong with you so that they can what have you inherited from your parents?
• 24:12
  SPEAKER_05: Okay.
• 24:13
  SPEAKER_07: Bio, whatever.
• 24:15
  SPEAKER_07: Sure.
• 24:15
SPEAKER_07: And then the microbeads are actually coated in wax, different layers of wax, so they will dissolve further where they need to get to in the body.
• 24:23
SPEAKER_05: I want to talk about this more.
• 24:24
  SPEAKER_07: Yeah, no, it's truly 10x health, it's phenomenal.
• 24:27
SPEAKER_07: Um literally, my packs come and say, made for Chris.
• 24:30
  SPEAKER_07: They're made for me.
• 24:32
  SPEAKER_05: Amazing.
• 24:32
SPEAKER_05: So and then so it just that must be what Elena takes too.
• 24:36
  SPEAKER_05: Oh, yeah.
• 24:36
  SPEAKER_07: Elena Grant every day.
• 24:37
SPEAKER_07: Yeah, they're taking that stuff.
• 24:38
  SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
• 24:39
  SPEAKER_05: It's really helped her.
• 24:40
  SPEAKER_07: Yeah, it is.
• 24:41
SPEAKER_07: Because again, it's you take the one-a-day vitamin for women or the one-a-day vitamin, it's just like you said it's not customized.
• 24:47
SPEAKER_07: And it's not for everybody.
• 24:48
  SPEAKER_07: It's not covered.
• 24:49
  SPEAKER_07: They are for me.
• 24:51
  SPEAKER_05: Customized for you.
• 24:52
SPEAKER_07: They are made for me.
• 24:53
SPEAKER_07: And literally, I have a packet that's that thick on what I should avoid food-wise because it affects my health and my diet.
• 24:59
  SPEAKER_07: Literally, everything.
• 25:00
  SPEAKER_05: But that does.
• 25:01
SPEAKER_05: I'm glad we talked about this because the probiotic, all this stuff, your problems like come out in your skin.
• 25:08
  SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
• 25:09
  SPEAKER_05: It's stress, it's hormones.
• 25:10
SPEAKER_05: I try so hard to regulate these hormones.
• 25:12
  SPEAKER_07: And or genetic.
• 25:13
SPEAKER_07: I mean, there are some things having growing into uh acne, they are born with it, they have it all their life because it's genetics.
• 25:20
SPEAKER_07: There's some things to help subside the flare-ups.
• 25:22
  SPEAKER_07: But yeah.
• 25:23
  SPEAKER_07: And I'm not sure.
• 25:23
SPEAKER_07: So then we can talk more about 10x health off off air too.
• 25:26
  SPEAKER_05: Yes.
• 25:27
  SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
• 25:28
  SPEAKER_07: No.
• 25:28

• 31:00
SPEAKER_05: You know, to where it gets stuck to your first lipstick that you put on and you don't like it, and it clumps up and this doesn't do it.
• 31:06
SPEAKER_05: And I've tested it all weekend.
• 31:08
SPEAKER_05: Now next time, when Crystal comes back, I will bring the other lip gloss.
• 31:13
SPEAKER_07: So the question is, does your husband Chris like it?
• 31:16
  SPEAKER_05: That's a really loaded question.

  SPEAKER_07: Give it a 10.
• 31:41
  SPEAKER_07: 10x.
• 31:42
  SPEAKER_05: Oh anytime I can get a 10x in there, I'm giving a 10x in there.
• 31:49
  SPEAKER_07: See, here we're catchy.
• 31:50
  SPEAKER_07: We'll even do this.
• 31:51
  SPEAKER_05: It's catchy.
• 31:52
  SPEAKER_05: Those are so nice.
• 31:53
  SPEAKER_07: Those are nice.
• 31:53
SPEAKER_05: So makeup, she also has her own skincare line.
• 31:57
SPEAKER_05: It's not my own, but we do.
• 31:59
  SPEAKER_05: They have their epicine.
• 32:01
SPEAKER_05: Talk about those a bit.
• 32:01
  SPEAKER_05: Yeah, we carry Epicurine.
• 32:03
SPEAKER_05: It's a very I actually used to work for Epicurine.
• 32:05
SPEAKER_05: I think that's why Caitlin thinks it's my skincare line.
• 32:07
SPEAKER_05: I've always looked, she probably told me that one time, and I've always said this.
• 32:11
SPEAKER_07: Now you're gonna be like, she came into me.
• 32:13
SPEAKER_07: We gotta get crystal in here.
• 32:14
SPEAKER_07: She's got her own skincare line.
• 32:15
SPEAKER_07: Oh my gosh, she's just great.
• 32:16

• 32:24
  SPEAKER_05: It's leafing bunny certified.
• 32:25
  SPEAKER_05: They use sustainable products.
• 32:27
SPEAKER_05: It's not 100% organic, but sometimes that's not always doable, but they stay very transparent about that.
• 32:33
SPEAKER_05: If it's not organic, it's highly sustainable.
• 32:35
SPEAKER_05: They're an extremely ethical company.
• 32:37
SPEAKER_05: So I feel confident with those ingredients going on our client's skin.
• 32:41
SPEAKER_05: I use their products, so on my skin as well.
• 32:43
SPEAKER_05: But quite a lot of people.
• 32:46
  SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
• 32:46
SPEAKER_07: How many people truly worry about if it's all organic?
• 32:50
  SPEAKER_07: Not enough.
• 32:51
  SPEAKER_07: That's what I mean.
• 32:52
SPEAKER_05: That was a good question.
• 32:53
SPEAKER_07: Because most people, I don't buy makeup.
• 32:55
  SPEAKER_07: Sorry.
• 32:56
  SPEAKER_07: This is all natural.
• 32:57
  SPEAKER_07: Sorry.
• 32:57
SPEAKER_05: Do you want to try this?
• 32:58
  SPEAKER_05: Fabulous.
• 32:58
  SPEAKER_07: I'm good.
• 32:59
SPEAKER_05: I think it might be your color.
• 33:00
SPEAKER_07: My lips are plump enough.
• 33:01
  SPEAKER_07: I don't need to emphasize them.
• 33:03
SPEAKER_07: But most people are in that Walmart frame of mind.
• 33:06
  SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
• 33:06
SPEAKER_05: You don't know what you don't know.
• 33:07
SPEAKER_05: And that's what's available to us mostly around here.
• 33:10
  SPEAKER_05: It's Walmart and Walgreens.
• 33:11
SPEAKER_07: And that's the oh, I need a quick lip gloss.
• 33:14
SPEAKER_07: Oop, I need some foundation.
• 33:15
  SPEAKER_07: I need some blush.
• 33:16
  SPEAKER_07: I need eyeliner.
• 33:17
  SPEAKER_07: I need whatever, right?
• 33:18
  SPEAKER_07: Mascara.
• 33:19
SPEAKER_07: And you're not going to be able to do that.
• 33:19
SPEAKER_07: See, look at eye now, Dolwin.

• 33:33
SPEAKER_05: My daughter's not going to leave the room.
• 33:34
  SPEAKER_05: It's so bad.
• 33:36
SPEAKER_07: You're talking about like the plastics that are in the bottled water you drink and all that.
• 33:39
  SPEAKER_05: Literally everything.
• 33:40
  SPEAKER_05: And everything.
• 33:43
SPEAKER_07: And that sun is killing us.
• 33:45
SPEAKER_07: Putting that into the water that you're going to drink.
• 33:47
  SPEAKER_05: Yes.
• 33:48
  SPEAKER_05: It's in baby formula.
• 33:49
  SPEAKER_05: It is.
• 33:50
  SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
• 33:50
  SPEAKER_05: Baby food.
• 33:51
SPEAKER_05: I mean, I have breastfed, but it's hurting my feelings.
• 33:53
  SPEAKER_07: It's all good.
• 33:54
SPEAKER_07: Okay, on the high note.
• 33:56
SPEAKER_05: But I'm just saying this is why it's important.
• 33:58
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, on a high organic our skin is our largest organ.
• 34:02
SPEAKER_05: So the lotion putting on your skin when you go outside, the free radicals, when you're not wearing SPF, when you're not protecting your skin from the sun.
• 34:09
SPEAKER_05: Okay, I'm glad you said that.
• 34:10
  SPEAKER_05: It's your shell.
• 34:11
SPEAKER_05: People take care of it.
• 34:13
SPEAKER_05: And guys, if you want to be tan and start young, you guys.
• 34:17
  SPEAKER_05: Start young.
• 34:18
SPEAKER_05: I accidentally got thrown into skincare, but I genuinely believe though, because I started so young and I was trying to solve these problems so early, it was beneficial to maturity.
• 34:32
SPEAKER_05: It wasn't intentional, but I think it actually it's just proof that it genuinely, if you're using the right things and you're putting good stuff in and on your body, it's beneficial.
• 34:42
SPEAKER_05: What's crazy because you went through a hard time within spinal, but it's led you to this dream.
• 34:49
  SPEAKER_05: You're here.
• 34:50
SPEAKER_05: I've a loyal am and beautiful skin.
• 34:53
  SPEAKER_05: You've done naturally.

SPEAKER_07: I do, she gets tired of me all the time.
• 35:11
SPEAKER_05: First time I met Caitlin, I was just like, I gotta work with this girl.
• 35:14
SPEAKER_05: When I'd seen she was doing cast things, I'm like, hey.
• 35:17
SPEAKER_05: Oh, which by the way, I'm showing my age because apparently now kids do this because no one ever held a phone.

• 35:27
  SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
• 35:28
SPEAKER_05: Wait, you're an old person.
• 35:30
SPEAKER_05: I will, I'm crying that they do this.
• 35:32
  SPEAKER_05: You're right, because they don't hold a phone.
• 35:33
  SPEAKER_05: They speak her.
• 35:34
  SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
• 35:35
  SPEAKER_05: Pay attention.
• 35:36
  SPEAKER_05: Maybe I'm wrong.
• 35:37
  SPEAKER_07: I don't know.
• 35:39
  SPEAKER_07: Strictly just ear.
• 35:40
SPEAKER_07: I have I wear earbuds all the time.
• 35:42
  SPEAKER_07: All the time.
• 35:42
SPEAKER_07: Sometimes I go home and I forget that I have them in.
• 35:44
SPEAKER_07: I go to bed and I'm like, oh crap, my earbuds aren't.
• 35:47
  SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah.
• 35:47
  SPEAKER_07: I roll over.
• 35:48
SPEAKER_07: I'm like, oh, wait, it's not in my ear.
• 35:49
  SPEAKER_07: Oh, it's my earbuds.
• 35:50
  SPEAKER_05: I'm like, I don't know why I can't wear earbuds.
• 35:52
SPEAKER_05: I'm like scared that like I'm gonna get run over or something if I'm outside that I'm not gonna hear a truck.
• 35:58
SPEAKER_05: Look, Kirsten's not in her head.
• 36:00
SPEAKER_07: She yeah, I literally I can wear these, I can wear these, one in each ear, and I can have a conversation going on in my head, and I can hear and have a conversation outside of my head too.
• 36:09
SPEAKER_07: Not just my inner voice.
• 36:10
  SPEAKER_03: Major multitasking.
• 36:11
  SPEAKER_03: I was gonna say 10x.
• 36:13
  SPEAKER_03: You're a 10x listener.
• 36:14
SPEAKER_07: When you crystal 10X on the air.
• 36:17
  SPEAKER_07: Look at her.
• 36:18
  SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
• 36:19
SPEAKER_07: Hey, speaking of 10x, where do you see the vision for Willow Lane Spa in the next few years and beyond?
• 36:25
SPEAKER_05: So right now we are looking at expansion.
• 36:29
SPEAKER_05: I guess we started this business here in Litchfield, but I actually like multiple locations in some larger suburban areas.
• 36:35
SPEAKER_05: Anytime we travel, we're always scoping out possibilities in larger areas.
• 36:39
SPEAKER_05: So anyone who's joined us early, they're at an advantage to maybe be at the forefront of a larger opportunity.
• 36:47
SPEAKER_05: But I'm always exploring, we've had podcasting in mind.
• 36:50
  SPEAKER_05: We've been chit-chatting it.
• 36:51
  SPEAKER_05: Right.
• 36:52
SPEAKER_05: Up any type of forward growth movement.
• 36:55
  SPEAKER_05: Sure.
• 36:55
  SPEAKER_05: Coaching's a possibility.
• 36:56
SPEAKER_05: Education, I'd love to partner with other businesses, especially some others in the industry.
• 37:01
  SPEAKER_05: Like it's a little wide.
• 37:03
SPEAKER_07: Collaboration is the new currency.
• 37:05
SPEAKER_07: You have to collaborate in today's industry.
• 37:07
  SPEAKER_07: You just have to.
• 37:08
SPEAKER_07: Even if it's collaborating with someone outside of your space.
• 37:11
  SPEAKER_05: Exactly.
• 37:11
SPEAKER_07: Doesn't have to be in the spawn wellness space.
• 37:14
SPEAKER_07: It can be outside your space and collaborate because you never know.
• 37:16
SPEAKER_07: So I'm going to throw a little nugget your way.
• 37:18
  SPEAKER_07: Please do.
• 37:19
SPEAKER_07: Or a grenade, however you want to be it.
• 37:21
SPEAKER_06: He was actually getting ready to go too.
• 37:22
  SPEAKER_07: I was.
• 37:22
SPEAKER_07: I was going to flick that to you.
• 37:24
SPEAKER_07: So everyone knows I'm a business coach as well, and I have some clients that we coach that are in the wellness space as well.
• 37:31
SPEAKER_07: And we have some things that they came up with, which is pretty awesome.
• 37:35
SPEAKER_07: But you should offer because there's some facilities there in Litchfield that have a lot of employees.
• 37:41
SPEAKER_07: So go to the corporate and say, hey, we'd like to offer a wellness package for your employees at a discounted rate on the Willow 365.
• 37:50
SPEAKER_07: And this is what it'd look like.
• 37:52
  SPEAKER_07: Are your wheels turning?
• 37:53
SPEAKER_05: Like those big companies, almost like ConnorMan.
• 37:56
  SPEAKER_05: It's in there.
• 37:56
SPEAKER_05: We just have it's like it's time.
• 37:58
SPEAKER_05: Had you thought about that then?
• 37:59
  SPEAKER_05: Yes.
• 37:59
  SPEAKER_05: Oh definitely.
• 38:01
SPEAKER_07: You can do a lot of life.
• 38:02
  SPEAKER_07: Really?
• 38:03
  SPEAKER_07: It's already clicking.
• 38:03
  SPEAKER_07: We're close in age.
• 38:04
  SPEAKER_07: I'm a little older than she.
• 38:05
  SPEAKER_07: I just had a birthday yesterday.
• 38:07
  SPEAKER_07: So happy be laden.
• 38:08
  SPEAKER_05: Oh my god.
• 38:10
SPEAKER_07: Oh Lord, she just goes, What?
• 38:12
  SPEAKER_05: How's that confetti?
• 38:14
SPEAKER_07: If you get on your social, you would know that.
• 38:17
SPEAKER_05: And I showed up here with nothing.
• 38:19
  SPEAKER_05: It's all good.
• 38:20
SPEAKER_07: Your presence is gift enough, Caitlin.
• 38:22
  unknown: Oh my god.
• 38:23
  SPEAKER_07: It's all good.
• 38:24
  SPEAKER_07: Happiest belated.
• 38:25
  SPEAKER_07: Thank you.
• 38:25
  SPEAKER_07: You're really big.
• 38:26
SPEAKER_07: Do you want me to early?
• 38:27
  SPEAKER_05: Thank you.
• 38:27
  SPEAKER_05: I can sing you.
• 38:28
  SPEAKER_07: Please no.
• 38:30
  SPEAKER_07: Please no Spanish?
• 38:32
  SPEAKER_07: No, I'm good.
• 38:32
  SPEAKER_07: No.
• 38:34
SPEAKER_05: I you know, I did I already did the counting in Spanish and French last time.
• 38:37
SPEAKER_07: Don't do the French thing.
• 38:38
  SPEAKER_07: No.
• 38:39
  SPEAKER_07: Age thing.
• 38:40
SPEAKER_07: Count to 10 in French.
• 38:42
  SPEAKER_00: Cat say set.
• 38:44
SPEAKER_07: Oh, you can stop there.
• 38:46
SPEAKER_07: I told her in one of the podcasts I don't want to know what she's doing to the cat.
• 38:49
SPEAKER_07: Because as it led up to the cat, I'm like, oh cat's pass.
• 38:53
  SPEAKER_07: I'm done.
• 38:54
  SPEAKER_07: We're done.
• 38:54
  SPEAKER_07: We're out of this.
• 38:55
  SPEAKER_07: We're done.
• 38:56
  SPEAKER_05: I'm spoken myself.
• 38:57
SPEAKER_05: That was a lot of things.
• 38:57
  SPEAKER_05: That's good.
• 38:58
SPEAKER_05: Did you take French in high school?
• 38:59
  SPEAKER_05: I did.
• 38:59
  SPEAKER_05: I did too.
• 39:00
  SPEAKER_05: Who was your instructor?
• 39:01
  SPEAKER_05: Mrs.
• 39:01
  SPEAKER_05: Bridges.
• 39:02
  SPEAKER_05: Okay, no.
• 39:03
SPEAKER_05: And I actually tested into advanced in college.
• 39:06
  SPEAKER_05: Wow.
• 39:06
SPEAKER_05: And I wanted to be a French teacher.
• 39:08
SPEAKER_05: I learned some other things in college.
• 39:10
  SPEAKER_05: I bet you did.
• 39:11
  SPEAKER_05: It's beneficial.
• 39:12
SPEAKER_05: You know what I'm saying?
• 39:14
  SPEAKER_05: Sorry.
• 39:15
SPEAKER_07: So are there any new offerings that are going to be coming to Willow Lane Spa that you aren't currently offering?
• 39:20
  SPEAKER_05: Yes, massage.
• 39:21
SPEAKER_05: We'll have massage going on in full body massage in Angela.
• 39:23
  SPEAKER_05: That's big time.
• 39:24
SPEAKER_05: That's our next launch, and then the Hydro Scalp is our next launch, which is hydrofacial for your scalp.
• 39:29
SPEAKER_05: But we already likely talked about that.
• 39:31
  SPEAKER_07: Body.
• 39:32
  SPEAKER_07: Full body.
• 39:33
  SPEAKER_07: Yes.
• 39:33
SPEAKER_07: Like I said when I was there before, when I travel, I will seek out the hotels that have spas and offer full body massages.
• 39:43
SPEAKER_05: Especially if you're traveling, though.
• 39:44
  SPEAKER_05: That's easy.
• 39:46
SPEAKER_07: I when I oh so my best I'm gonna give my best spa and experience was I went to Charlotte for an event, two-day event.
• 39:53
SPEAKER_07: The hotel we went to had a just amazing spa.
• 39:57
SPEAKER_07: Every night the turn down service, there'd be a bottle of mineral water for us.
• 40:01
  SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
• 40:03
  SPEAKER_05: Yes.
• 40:03
  SPEAKER_07: And so I scheduled a spa.
• 40:04
SPEAKER_07: It was or a massage.
• 40:05
SPEAKER_07: It was an hour and 20 minutes.
• 40:08
SPEAKER_07: And they said, okay, before you come down the spa, go sit in the sauna first, and then come in, do the spa, and then plan to go spend another 20 minutes in the sauna when you're done.
• 40:17
  SPEAKER_07: The steam room.
• 40:17
SPEAKER_07: And literally I could not see, I would not be able to see you in that steam room.
• 40:20
  SPEAKER_07: It was that thick.
• 40:21
  SPEAKER_07: Nice.
• 40:22
SPEAKER_07: And literally, I was meeting a group of other business owners later that night to go out to dinner.
• 40:27
SPEAKER_07: And I walked up and one of them go, man, you look like a million bucks.
• 40:30
SPEAKER_07: Literally out of the blue.
• 40:31
SPEAKER_07: I literally just met this guy at this event.
• 40:33
SPEAKER_07: He goes, You look like a million bucks.
• 40:35
SPEAKER_07: And like, I feel like I'm Saint.
• 40:36
  SPEAKER_05: It's you're rejuvenating.
• 40:38
  SPEAKER_07: Exactly.
• 40:39
SPEAKER_07: And so I am all for the full body massage that experience that just the reset, right?
• 40:46
  SPEAKER_07: Yes.
• 40:47
SPEAKER_07: And it's not draining, it actually recharges you.
• 40:49
  SPEAKER_05: It does.
• 40:50
SPEAKER_05: People think that it's maybe of course it's for real relaxation, but there's a lot of techniques.
• 40:55
  SPEAKER_05: Oh many health benefits.
• 40:57
  SPEAKER_05: That's what I'm saying.
• 40:57
SPEAKER_05: There's so many pushing toxins.
• 41:00
  SPEAKER_05: Oh my goodness, yeah.
• 41:01
SPEAKER_07: Because you've because I drank literally in between the hour and 20 minutes of massage, I would they have me drink water, right?
• 41:07
SPEAKER_07: To stay hydrated and just, yeah.
• 41:09
SPEAKER_07: And they're like, do this and just drink.
• 41:11
SPEAKER_05: And it was just like I'm so glad you said that actually, because that's true.
• 41:15
SPEAKER_05: For me, that warms my heart so much is to watch the client come in, they're stressed, their ear shoulders rip up in their ears.
• 41:22
SPEAKER_05: And they think they get their service and they come out, they're like, they're dropping their threchonolence, can't form sentences.
• 41:29
SPEAKER_07: And no, they didn't have a stroke, folks.
• 41:31
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, they're just they're so relaxed, and that just that fills my heart.
• 41:36
SPEAKER_05: That's truly I have a background in yoga too.
• 41:38
SPEAKER_05: Like I I am very passionate about wellness as an overall whole.
• 41:41
SPEAKER_05: So just when someone's taking the time to care for themselves, you have to take care of yourself before you can take care of others.
• 41:47
SPEAKER_05: I believe that with my whole heart.
• 41:49
  SPEAKER_05: 100%.
• 41:50
SPEAKER_07: So how do you incorporate the the holistic approach, body, mind, and soul, into the spa service?
• 41:56
SPEAKER_04: I think it just naturally happens.
• 41:57
  SPEAKER_04: It's not even deliberate.
• 41:58
SPEAKER_07: It's just Because the atmosphere and how you do it, it just flows, right?
• 42:02
SPEAKER_05: I think you're more just part of it.
• 42:04
SPEAKER_05: That's it just happens naturally.
• 42:06
  SPEAKER_05: It's not even work.
• 42:08
SPEAKER_07: So how many team members do you have there?
• 42:12
  SPEAKER_05: There's six of us.
• 42:13
  SPEAKER_07: Excellent.
• 42:14
  SPEAKER_05: Yes.
• 42:14
SPEAKER_07: And are they and you don't have to answer if you don't want to, but are they team members as an employed team members or they're employees.
• 42:22
  SPEAKER_07: Okay.
• 42:22
  SPEAKER_07: Not 1099.
• 42:23
SPEAKER_07: They're they're not coming in renting a space for you to use your facility.
• 42:28
  SPEAKER_07: Okay.
• 42:28
  SPEAKER_07: All right.
• 42:29
SPEAKER_07: Because I know some salons they rent their trailers.
• 42:32
SPEAKER_05: They do, and I know there's some pros and cons to that.
• 42:34
SPEAKER_05: Just I've also deep dive into a lot of deep business education.
• 42:39
SPEAKER_05: It's just it seems that W 2 is the best opportunity for employees.
• 42:43
SPEAKER_05: I know there's pros and cons in everyone.
• 42:45
SPEAKER_07: You can create that family atmosphere because they are truly your holding a paycheck.
• 42:49
SPEAKER_07: Not using that again, but that's it's just that more.
• 42:52
SPEAKER_05: I also feel yeah, for a spa and your services, it probably makes more sense to do what you're doing.
• 43:01
SPEAKER_05: I'm very comfortable with the way we've chosen to do it for now.
• 43:04
SPEAKER_07: How many more team members do you feel that you can house at your current location?
• 43:09
SPEAKER_05: We would definitely love to have another stylist.
• 43:12
SPEAKER_05: I mean, we we could probably house one more of each, but my priorities for my team to be fully booked.
• 43:19
SPEAKER_05: So as soon as they are at a space where they don't want to take on any more clients, that's when I would like to entertain bringing on more staff.
• 43:26
SPEAKER_05: But creating the night spot.
• 43:28
  SPEAKER_05: Or the night spot.
• 43:30
SPEAKER_05: I think there's going to be some deep conversations about that.
• 43:32
  SPEAKER_05: I think so too.
• 43:33
  SPEAKER_05: And I can't like do it.
• 43:34
SPEAKER_07: So I mean, what are your hours?
• 43:36
SPEAKER_05: So we just recently changed our hours.
• 43:38
SPEAKER_05: Now we're closed on Mondays.
• 43:39
  SPEAKER_05: Okay.
• 43:40
SPEAKER_05: On Tuesday and Wednesday, we are 10 to 5.
• 43:42
  SPEAKER_05: Thursday, 12 to 7.
• 43:45
  SPEAKER_05: Monday, 10 to 4.
• 43:47
  SPEAKER_06: Okay.
• 43:47
SPEAKER_05: And then we say we're 10 to 2 on Saturday, but like the evenings and the weekends, we're working with our clients.
• 43:53
SPEAKER_07: And that's where I was heading about that night spa, because you have business owners that are the real hustlers that are out there grinding from Four in the morning until whenever we slip it in.
• 44:03
SPEAKER_07: Sometimes when I used to go get massages, I literally would try to fit in the middle of the day, then I'm crap the rest of the day.
• 44:09
  SPEAKER_07: I know it's tough.
• 44:10
SPEAKER_05: And then you feel amazing and you gotta go back to work.
• 44:12
  SPEAKER_05: Right.
• 44:13
  SPEAKER_05: My chair.
• 44:13
SPEAKER_05: Or I just gotta live my best life after my massage.
• 44:16
  SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
• 44:16
  SPEAKER_05: Day daytime's good.
• 44:18
SPEAKER_05: We have a nice daytime crowd.
• 44:19
SPEAKER_05: We'll take evening appointments by request.
• 44:21
SPEAKER_05: I had per selfishly myself, just because I don't want to work evenings and weekends.
• 44:26
SPEAKER_05: I set the hours up to be more daytime, but some of the girls they're completely fine with working evenings and Saturdays.
• 44:31
SPEAKER_05: They also know that's people work.
• 44:33
SPEAKER_05: That's when their availability is that late night Thursday.
• 44:36
  SPEAKER_05: We do.
• 44:37
SPEAKER_05: And then you can always ask for a late night.
• 44:40
SPEAKER_07: Well, and you also, as the business owner and the matriarch of the wellness family.
• 44:45
  SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
• 44:46
  SPEAKER_07: Thank you.
• 44:47
  SPEAKER_05: I like that.
• 44:48
  SPEAKER_05: I like that too.
• 44:49
SPEAKER_07: Make sure that if there are late night appointments, that your team member feels safe with whatever person's coming in.
• 44:54
  SPEAKER_07: Absolutely.
• 44:54
SPEAKER_07: You know what I mean?
• 44:55
  SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
• 44:55
SPEAKER_05: Even if we're there, there's a chance if the door's locked, it's for our safety.
• 44:58
SPEAKER_05: So please don't be offended.
• 44:59
  SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
• 45:00
  SPEAKER_07: No, and that's good.
• 45:01
SPEAKER_07: What finally, so what advice would you give someone who's just starting on their wellness journey?
• 45:07
  SPEAKER_07: Besides college.
• 45:08
  SPEAKER_07: Just start 275-2263.
• 45:11
  SPEAKER_07: Say that number right?
• 45:12
  SPEAKER_05: Listen, I don't even I don't know the number.
• 45:14
SPEAKER_05: I'm always like, what's our number again?
• 45:16
  unknown: Yeah.
• 45:17
SPEAKER_05: I didn't even have to look at our number in the 80s.
• 45:19
  SPEAKER_05: I don't remember it.
• 45:21
SPEAKER_05: Why is that so dry?
• 45:23
  unknown: Sure.
• 45:24
SPEAKER_07: What do they need to start?
• 45:25
  SPEAKER_05: Just start.
• 45:25
  SPEAKER_05: Just start.
• 45:26
  SPEAKER_05: Give us a call.
• 45:27
  SPEAKER_05: Come for one appointment.
• 45:28
SPEAKER_05: If you don't know, we will help guide you.
• 45:30
SPEAKER_05: Just make the phone call, just start.
• 45:32
SPEAKER_07: And that's the thing because I use that in my coaching too, because it's the starting that stops us.
• 45:37
  SPEAKER_05: Starting's the hardest part.
• 45:38
  SPEAKER_05: Showing up the state.
• 45:39
SPEAKER_05: The initiation is the hardest.
• 45:41
  SPEAKER_05: It is.
• 45:41
  SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
• 45:42
  SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
• 45:42
SPEAKER_07: It's taking that first step.
• 45:43
SPEAKER_07: And I tell people that all the time.
• 45:45
SPEAKER_07: And so you're saying the same advice.
• 45:46
  SPEAKER_07: Absolutely.
• 45:47
SPEAKER_05: And there's such an array of information out there that people don't know what to trust.
• 45:51
SPEAKER_05: So I'm glad that we have Crystal in here, somebody we know you're not a face.
• 45:56
  SPEAKER_05: I'm genuinely passionate.
• 45:57
SPEAKER_05: Yeah, you're actually what humans are like.
• 45:59
SPEAKER_05: You have lots of information to give out.
• 46:02
  SPEAKER_05: That's why you'd be on a podcast.
• 46:05
SPEAKER_05: We got plenty of tape.
• 46:06
SPEAKER_07: Oh, wait, we're not on tape.
• 46:07
  SPEAKER_07: Yeah, oh the 80s.
• 46:09
SPEAKER_05: Oh, actually, this is the pound key in the 80s.
• 46:12
  SPEAKER_05: Oh, I didn't know that.
• 46:14
  SPEAKER_07: That's right.
• 46:15
  SPEAKER_07: Party line.
• 46:16
  SPEAKER_05: Home beak.
• 46:17
  SPEAKER_05: Okay.
• 46:17
  SPEAKER_05: But anyway, that's what I'm saying.
• 46:18
SPEAKER_05: I think it's very helpful to where someone would have know exactly where to focus on their wellness journey.
• 46:26
SPEAKER_05: We will get you going.
• 46:28
  SPEAKER_07: That's right.
• 46:29
  SPEAKER_07: That's awesome.
• 46:30
SPEAKER_07: Crystal, this has been fabulous.
• 46:34
SPEAKER_05: This has been so much fun.
• 46:35
