- 0:00Yeah, when people tell me to gamify my life, they're like,
- 0:02make it a reward system. I'm like, I reward myself no
- 0:05matter what. 100%. I don't.
- 0:07I don't, I'm not a masochist anymore.
- 0:09I don't withhold treats because I didn't do good.
- 0:14Yeah, like that doesn't work for me.
- 0:15I I have no you're. Alive, you did good today.
- 0:18Like you reward yourself. I have no no reward center.
- 0:24It doesn't work like that for me.
- 0:25I didn't kill myself and I didn't kill anybody else.
- 0:27Yeah, exactly. Welcome back guys.
- 0:40This is thanks. Hated it.
- 0:42I'm here with Ryan. Amber will be joining shortly.
- 0:45She's busy making a pot of WHOP. Nobody can hear you.
- 0:52Macaroni in a pot. I like the warrior one.
- 0:58The warrior one. Is it Luigi?
- 1:01Thought I was worried. What?
- 1:03So there's a we will show you. OK, well then don't even discuss
- 1:10with the I'm just La La, La La la.
- 1:12TuneIn for that guys it'll be on our on the YouTube channel.
- 1:17Oh my God, the save me Mario song that was made.
- 1:23Oh my God. It's honestly, if you ask me,
- 1:28like, would you listen to Jim Morrison or this song again?
- 1:33I'd be like, put that song back on.
- 1:35It's. So good.
- 1:36I don't know how he got it so good.
- 1:38It's so funny. I'll show you that one too.
- 1:40So then it's it's like the dude that does the Jack and Diane,
- 1:46but it's mostly sucking on a chili dog.
- 1:50Yes, exactly. It's funnier, but yeah, TuneIn
- 1:57for that, we're going to have a YouTube section where we do.
- 2:03Classy reacts. Yeah, fun stuff.
- 2:06I'm not watching this Internet trash, but I will absolutely
- 2:09react to some things. I'll I'll, I'll get some some
- 2:13classy stuff that's going to make you sing.
- 2:16What the fuck is this? Sucking on chili dog.
- 2:20Sucking on a chili dog. That's what we should have
- 2:23called the podcast. Sucking on a chili dog.
- 2:25Sucking on a chili dog. Sucking on a chili dog.
- 2:27Thanks, hated it. What's up, Goose?
- 2:34So for the last episode, we ended where I was talking about
- 2:42selling the business like four months ago.
- 2:45Yeah. And I don't know how we got
- 2:49there, but yeah, I had a landscaping business for three
- 2:54years going on four and we were planning on moving from our last
- 3:01place north of where we were by like an hour.
- 3:05And you just, you can't keep a a service based business with your
- 3:09clients two hours away. It just doesn't work.
- 3:13I was already struggling pretty good because my clients were an
- 3:16hour and 10 minutes away. My first account and it was
- 3:21just, it was killing me. I was, I've also got a truck
- 3:26where the mileage is like 12.5 I think with a trailer on it.
- 3:32So I was spending, I'm not kidding, I was spending 60 bucks
- 3:36a day just just to work. Which is crazy.
- 3:40It was insane. I, I couldn't make much of
- 3:43anything, but it kept going for the time that we were there.
- 3:47And thankfully Ryan so graciously lent us a room and
- 3:53now we're an hour and 10 S of where we were, if not more.
- 3:59And now I'm back to my service area.
- 4:01So I won't be selling the business.
- 4:03But it is really funny because for months I knew what I was
- 4:10going to do. I knew I was going to sell.
- 4:11I knew I was going to get rid of the equipment in my accounts and
- 4:14maybe sell it as a whole, maybe part it out, who knows.
- 4:16But I, I knew that. So for three or four months at
- 4:20the end there, I, I got a bunch of business credit because what
- 4:27do you do when you're selling a business?
- 4:29You suck every sole penny out of it.
- 4:32And that's what I did. I got a bunch of business credit
- 4:34and I, I put some tires on my truck and I took care of some of
- 4:38my business bills that need to be paid in the insurance and the
- 4:44payments on the truck and yadda yadda.
- 4:45And I, I racked up a bunch of money and in credit and now I'm
- 4:52not selling the business. So the 60 bucks a day in gas is
- 4:56going to creditors, not really the the lenders.
- 4:59But yeah, that that shot myself in the foot free hard instead of
- 5:04saving me. What, 240 a week now it's going
- 5:08back to other people, but hopefully in the next three or
- 5:11four months by summer, it'll all be paid off and I'll be back to
- 5:15square one again. But I, I definitely think this
- 5:18is a better position to be in because just trying to keep your
- 5:24clients while you're so far away and it's a weather dependent
- 5:29business, it just doesn't work. And now here I can, I can do it
- 5:32anytime I want at any time of day, Monday through Sunday.
- 5:36And it's it's already been a massive help.
- 5:42Yeah. Because I before it was just
- 5:44such a struggle to do anything. And now it's just everything's
- 5:48so much easier, so much easier. I'm glad I'm keeping it.
- 5:52It's it's, it's also one thing that you got to think about it,
- 5:56it wasn't that you were racking up business credit for non
- 6:03essential things. No, it needed to be.
- 6:07Done. All of the stuff needed to be
- 6:08done. It just didn't need to be.
- 6:09Done all at once right then. Yeah, yeah.
- 6:12That kind of. So it's it's like, well, now you
- 6:14don't have to worry about it. So now it's done.
- 6:19Yeah, it's it's a little bit iffy, but you're going to get it
- 6:23paid off. You're going.
- 6:24To. It'll be fine.
- 6:25It was. Just that was it's good.
- 6:27I was not expecting to run it up and then pretty much have to
- 6:33tackle it right off the RIP in the new year where nothing gets
- 6:37done really. Welcome back.
- 6:41Amber's here. She's joined us with her.
- 6:43Mac. And cheese.
- 6:44Whop Wham. But I'm glad I kept it.
- 6:50And that's. Just macaroni.
- 6:52What we were talking about last time was the the unforeseen
- 6:54hurdles that you can't even fathom until you get to him.
- 6:57Yeah. And apart from venomous snakes
- 7:00and just terrible, terrible clients that you'll encounter,
- 7:07that's another hurdle where you're like, well, I guess I'll
- 7:10move on to the next thing because this just doesn't work
- 7:12in this where we're at this climate, this whatever it is.
- 7:17And then come to find out 10 days before you're set to sell,
- 7:22you get picked up and and now you're keeping it.
- 7:26It's like, OK, now what? So it's just another hurdle and
- 7:32thanks. Loved it.
- 7:33Thanks. I hated it.
- 7:35Yeah. I I love my business.
- 7:38I'm glad I don't have to sell or don't need to sell and I'm I'm
- 7:43glad we were able to keep it. But with the hurdles, man, the
- 7:49clients I've had, I've had some, I've had some clients, boy,
- 7:54they're just. The worst?
- 7:56Oh my God, some of them that I've had, I had.
- 7:59I had one guy. One lady wasn't about to pay
- 8:01you. Oh, I've had, I've had so many
- 8:03that just I don't feel like paying.
- 8:05It's like, well, that's your prerogative and I'll do what I
- 8:09got to do and. You glue the fucking grass and
- 8:12leaves back. So I had one where the guy
- 8:18pretty much on site negotiated after we agreed to a price and
- 8:24after, after it was done, made a big stink.
- 8:28And instead of going, you know what, this service isn't for me.
- 8:32We're just, we don't mesh. I'm going to go ahead and pay
- 8:36you what we agreed to and not use you again.
- 8:38That's that's perfectly acceptable.
- 8:40I have no problem with that. Instead, he handed me like
- 8:44$30.00, I think. And it was a $65 service and
- 8:49we're talking dollars and cents here.
- 8:52But it, it was the principle of it.
- 8:53Yeah, he handed me $30 in cash and was like, this is all I feel
- 8:58I should pay you for the service that you provided.
- 9:01And it's like, buddy, I was here for two hours.
- 9:04Like this is a phenomenal service you just got.
- 9:07And I'm not, I'm not basting my own Turkey here, but I, I mean,
- 9:11I, I did work. He had a really nice property
- 9:13and I took care of it. It was just like that.
- 9:16I don't know what you were looking for if this ain't it.
- 9:18Like, yeah, I, I don't know what he was thinking, but I I found
- 9:22out from his neighbor when I was leaving.
- 9:24He's like, did you just work for that guy?
- 9:26I was like, hey, he goes, oh, man.
- 9:28He, he runs through landscapers like it's nobody's business.
- 9:30He's got a new guy every month. I'm like, really?
- 9:33He goes, yeah, he does this all the time.
- 9:34I was like, understood. And then you got that guy as
- 9:37your client. Yeah, the neighbor.
- 9:39The neighbor. Yeah, that's awesome.
- 9:41So I, I just some people, man, some people out there just
- 9:45that's that's what I like about yours is, hey, I did perform the
- 9:49service, but if you want the final rendition of your service
- 9:53that I rendered, yeah, it better be in the account.
- 9:56Yeah, yeah, like. Not being rude, this is how it
- 9:58works. Pay me or you don't get the
- 10:00final cut. Like yeah, the deliverables
- 10:02don't come until after the payment is received.
- 10:05I I should do that? But I feel like it's scummy to
- 10:08charge people before a service in my industry.
- 10:13Yeah, I could see that. It's It's also like at.
- 10:15Least like a deposit. I mean, you're talking a deposit
- 10:18of like $5. 10 I. Mean I mean still like.
- 10:23But that doesn't cover. It wouldn't even cover my gas.
- 10:27I dropped the tailgate on that thing and it's it's already 20
- 10:29bucks. Yeah, it just if I was like when
- 10:35I'm doing big accounts like 55000, like yeah, there's a
- 10:38deposit. Yeah, you're paying for rentals
- 10:41and equipment and everything upfront.
- 10:43But yeah, obviously I'm not asking for payment till it's
- 10:46done. But yeah, it's it's the same.
- 10:48And that's the other thing. I haven't had any.
- 10:50I haven't had any other issues besides like him and another
- 10:53woman. And like when he first started
- 10:56to the woman. The woman gave me an issue.
- 10:58You. Know.
- 11:00What's funny, she had an issue with me, then she went and
- 11:04scoped out the project with other service providers.
- 11:07She came back, deleted her review, put it up to five stars.
- 11:12She did it like 3 stars and said you don't get what you pay for.
- 11:18Yeah. Which I don't understand how you
- 11:21did I not mow blow edge and weedy like that's what we agreed
- 11:25it to on the estimate for this price.
- 11:28That's what she got. She wrote a three star and said
- 11:31did a great job. Not what I was expecting.
- 11:34You don't get what you pay for. I kid you not.
- 11:37She didn't pay me for like a month.
- 11:39I. Finally, two months.
- 11:40I finally told her I was like, hey, I can't service your
- 11:42account again until I get a payment.
- 11:44She was like, yeah no problem, paid me, got rid of the review,
- 11:46bumped it up to five stars and never mentioned it.
- 11:49I have had her as a client for three years.
- 11:51Wow. Yeah, she, she estimated it with
- 11:54other people. And they're like, yeah, you're
- 11:55paying like 20 bucks less than everybody else.
- 11:58Yeah, who you could possibly get this account for.
- 12:00Like you're getting a deal. Like, I don't know why you're
- 12:04estimating this. Like, why never, never leave
- 12:07this. Never let this guy not be your
- 12:09service provider. Why are you talking to me?
- 12:11Yeah, I I thought it was I. It was give me the number of
- 12:14this dude so I can call him to bump up his his number.
- 12:17Yeah, I was saying and sub it out to him.
- 12:20No, I, I, I used it as a confirmation.
- 12:22It's another, and it was one of those things like I know what I
- 12:25provide and I provide. I provide it, man.
- 12:29I'm the guy who answers the phone every time.
- 12:32I'm the guy who gives a fair price.
- 12:33I don't intentionally ever gouge anybody.
- 12:38If it's, if it's a price that's overestimated, it's because I
- 12:41don't want to do it. I, I, I'm not, I'm not
- 12:44interested in the project. But if, if you want me, you want
- 12:47the guy that's going to answer the phone every time.
- 12:49You want the guy that's going to show up on time every single
- 12:51time and there's going to be notification before, during and
- 12:55after. You're going to get professional
- 12:58communication every time. White glove service if you need.
- 13:03Literally the closest thing to white glove in Sanford.
- 13:07But yeah, but it's it's just one of those things.
- 13:10It was it was a confirmation of that hurdle where I thought I
- 13:14killed that. And then the review came through
- 13:17and it's like, wow, I don't know where the disconnect was, but I
- 13:20don't feel that way. And then she fixed all of it her
- 13:24on her own. I never even talked to her about
- 13:26it. And it was like, OK, I'm doing
- 13:28exactly what I need to be doing. That was that was exactly what I
- 13:31needed to do because she she worked it out on her own.
- 13:34I am. I'm killing it, dude.
- 13:36Yeah. But yeah, I, I didn't want to
- 13:38sell, but it just, it didn't work what we were.
- 13:42And, and through the years, it's just gotten harder and harder in
- 13:47different locations and just being completely out of your,
- 13:50out of your county. I wasn't even in the same county
- 13:53that I work in and it was just, it wasn't working.
- 13:55And I'm glad we were able to work something out and, and keep
- 14:00the business because man, it's, it's awesome.
- 14:02It's. Picking up.
- 14:04I still haven't heard back. Heard back.
- 14:10Oh yeah, Ryan gave me some advice.
- 14:12Ryan. On how I should estimate a new
- 14:16project and I haven't heard back and I'm scared she kept me as an
- 14:21account like as a regular account but like her big project
- 14:24I haven't heard back from her but.
- 14:26Have you reached out to her? I have not.
- 14:28Maybe she's autistic and doesn't like to be the first person to
- 14:32text. I could try just.
- 14:34I've also opened an e-mail or a text, looked at it that's a good
- 14:38point and said and filed it away Like I am busy, I can't
- 14:42physically respond to this and then completely forgotten about
- 14:46it. She is busy man.
- 14:47She's got a three story mansion on 10 acres in the middle of
- 14:53Sanford which is insane priced real estate but she's had it for
- 14:57forever so it's old money. And then she bought a warehouse.
- 15:01Like I'm not kidding, 5 minutes from that property.
- 15:04A whole warehouse where there's like 5 businesses renting out
- 15:07the spaces. It is amazing what she's done.
- 15:11It is. It's crazy how like, not
- 15:15professional. What's the word like,
- 15:17successful? I'm looking at this like I am.
- 15:20I am so far away from this. Like I need to be here.
- 15:25I, I want everything she's got, man.
- 15:27I'm not even envious. I'm just like, I, I want that.
- 15:29Like for me, that's awesome. Is that not envious?
- 15:33I mean, I'm not like I want to take it from you.
- 15:35I want it for myself. I'm jealous.
- 15:37Oh my God, I'm so jealous. No.
- 15:39Jealous is like, I want to take that from you.
- 15:41Envious. Envious is like I want that.
- 15:45Envy is worse than jealousy, no? It's.
- 15:48I thought it was the other way around.
- 15:49Jealousy is not a sin. Green with envy, Green with
- 15:53envy, It's. I thought it was the other way
- 15:55around. Envy is a much more hatred
- 15:59based. Jealousy is just I wish I was
- 16:02that person or I wish I had that.
- 16:05I'm going to look it up. Because in in, being envious is
- 16:10a sin. As far as that goes, jealousy is
- 16:14not really. Unbelievable person.
- 16:17So far as no, no. It's it's exactly what I
- 16:21thought. Jealousy is primarily about
- 16:25fearing the loss of something you already possessed, while
- 16:27envy is about desiring what somebody else has.
- 16:33Yeah. So jealousy isn't?
- 16:36That's that's it's envious as saying I want that from
- 16:41somebody. Desiring what someone else has,
- 16:44Yeah. Like jealousy.
- 16:47Yeah. So envious.
- 16:49Is. Worse than jealousy?
- 16:51No, no, no. But jealousy is primarily
- 16:53fearing something that you already possess and you you lost
- 16:58like you lose it or loss it. Yeah, but that's not affecting
- 17:03somebody else. That's why envy is worse than
- 17:05jealousy. I feel you, but I was also in
- 17:08the right. So no, and and not that I have a
- 17:16one to one comparison to what you're feeling with this lady,
- 17:22but I definitely have that. I want to be where this dude is.
- 17:30Luckily, I have a good communicational relationship
- 17:34with this guy. I already talked about some
- 17:38projects that I would like to work with him on coming in the
- 17:43future, especially around the downtown area cuz that's been an
- 17:48up and coming place for the last 10 years.
- 17:51Like, I mean, it's changed in the seven years that I've lived
- 17:54down here, it's changed dramatically.
- 17:57I mean hell, they estimated for their Porch Fest, they estimated
- 18:03they had over 50,000 people in the downtown area for Porch Fest
- 18:07this year. That more than doubled last
- 18:10year's. I was gonna say that's probably
- 18:11the most people that have ever been in downtown Sanford cuz
- 18:14it's been around for what, 1860s?
- 18:188I I don't remember when Sanford was, I mean created, but I mean,
- 18:21yeah, it's. So the St.
- 18:24John's River was the cut through in Florida and it was the main
- 18:30distribution. Yeah, and from the coast.
- 18:32Fort Mellon was right, was right there on it's.
- 18:37Got to be eighteens. Yeah, I remember Melonville was
- 18:41there and then Sanford, Henry Sanford started it and then
- 18:44basically took over Mellonville. Did you know that the town we
- 18:49used to live in, in Astor, the guy was like super rich and he
- 18:52made a town, Astor Avi, and he was one of the guys that died on
- 18:57the Titanic. Really.
- 19:00Swear to God. That's really.
- 19:01The rich dude who is the. Town Vegemite.
- 19:04No swear to God the dude who we used to like the town we used to
- 19:07live in was named after him because they they started the
- 19:10town. He died on the Titanic and then
- 19:13I bought a boat and lived in his town.
- 19:15That's that's crazy. That's crazy.
- 19:20I'm like, you know what, I'm I'm going to change this.
- 19:24Yeah, insane. And then?
- 19:25We left because it's a shit place.
- 19:27Terrible town. Don't go.
- 19:28Down faster. But yeah, so like if you want to
- 19:31pass through. For like 3 days Astro Florida's
- 19:33awesome. Don't go for more than three
- 19:35days. It's a terrible place.
- 19:38But yeah, so this this dude, I, I definitely and I know he's
- 19:42he's got all that the ceiling to work with.
- 19:46You know, he's got so much headroom to grow.
- 19:48He's going places. But it's I've had several
- 19:52conversations. I had one Friday and that was
- 19:54that meeting that you were talking about last episode
- 19:56there, Amber. Yeah, I talked with him Friday
- 20:01and we just kind of discussed some ideas for some projects
- 20:05that. He's doing some stuff that he's
- 20:08going to need some help with, some stuff that I thought that
- 20:12corresponded with the project that he's currently, like, about
- 20:15to launch. And yeah, it's just, it's one of
- 20:19those things where it's like, I want to be in the position where
- 20:23I, I am making money to where I can like pay employees.
- 20:28I would love to to get to that point where I can justify having
- 20:32employees. Speaking of employees, you want
- 20:36to talk about hurdles in a business?
- 20:38Yeah. Oh yeah.
- 20:39The hardest thing I've I've done so far again, avoiding venomous
- 20:45snakes. Terrible, horrible traffic
- 20:48accidents on the daily, terrible clients, occasional dude, hiring
- 20:53somebody was the hardest thing I've ever done.
- 20:55And I still haven't been able to lock anybody in.
- 20:59Like it just doesn't work anymore.
- 21:01Like, you don't need to have a labor job.
- 21:05Yeah, and I know you're different, but I'm saying like
- 21:07for me and people are like, I'm not going to, I'm not going to
- 21:09run a crew out in the Florida sun during the summer for 20
- 21:14bucks an hour. Like it's like, dude, that's.
- 21:17Shout out to the job that I used to work at.
- 21:19Exactly but. They hated.
- 21:24It. Incredibly difficult is trying
- 21:27to find the right people. Oh my God, dude.
- 21:30Yeah. Oh yeah.
- 21:31And that's, that's the whole thing.
- 21:32Like, I know I would love to be in a position where I can
- 21:38justify having an employee. Yeah, but I don't know if I want
- 21:43to make that step into actually having employees.
- 21:48I mean, you never know cuz this might blow up and I can't
- 21:52justify editing every single thing cuz if we, if we go and
- 21:59blow up and get to a certain part, I'm not going to be able
- 22:03to edit everything, right? Like just the amount of projects
- 22:07I'm currently doing. I am, I'm maxed out currently
- 22:11with everything going on, including my regular nine to
- 22:17five. Yeah, you know, my, my day job,
- 22:21the job that gives me money. I'm maxed out with everything,
- 22:24including that. Once I'm able to take that away,
- 22:27I'm going to have, you know, 8 hours a day.
- 22:29Yeah, back. Yeah, but how?
- 22:358 hours a day. Yeah.
- 22:37Working double s every week. Yeah, well, you know, it's.
- 22:40Way more than 8 hours a day. Well, it's also getting ready.
- 22:44It's drive time, it's break time, it's all that.
- 22:46It's it's more like 10 a day. Yeah, but it is what it is.
- 22:53So it's it's, it's just the, the, the thing like I, I see, I
- 22:59see where he's at and I, I can't wait to get to that point where
- 23:03I'm at, where he's he's at now. I'm excited.
- 23:07I see that future and and I'm excited to work with this guy
- 23:12because I've already done a little bit around him and I like
- 23:17the ideas he has. We have a very similar kind of
- 23:23not idea, but like I guess more mindset.
- 23:30We have a very similar mindset. They're both giga chads.
- 23:34Yeah, pretty much. No, He, it's, it's, it's very
- 23:39much we, we align with kind of creatively, right.
- 23:44We align very, if not identically, we align parallel
- 23:50to each other. So it sounds like the route he
- 23:56wants to take is going to line up properly with the route that
- 24:00I had an idea for. And so it's just going to run
- 24:03parallel to each other and work as a, as a combination, you
- 24:07know, so, and I don't want to throw anything that he's working
- 24:13on 'cause we were doing meetings behind closed doors and that
- 24:17stuff doesn't need to be shared until it's ready to be out in
- 24:19the open. But it, it was something, I was
- 24:22like, hey, listen, I was thinking about this, I've got,
- 24:25you know, this reference, this reference, this reference
- 24:27material. And this is, this is what I
- 24:31would like to do for Sanford. And it corresponds with what
- 24:34you're doing, right? And and he sat there and he
- 24:38goes. Yeah, like what is his position?
- 24:41Like what does he do? He does video photography
- 24:45exactly like what I'm doing. But he's coordinating like.
- 24:48He's doing a bunch of different stuff.
- 24:50OK, and if I multiple, if I got more into more detailed, I would
- 24:58give too much away. I feel, I feel, which is why I'm
- 25:00I'm trying to be, I got you as general as possible.
- 25:04But yeah, he's got a ton of different hats.
- 25:05I mean this dude tried to run for mayor at one point.
- 25:08OK. So yeah, that's.
- 25:10That's. That's what I needed.
- 25:11Yeah, he's he's done it. He's he's got a lot.
- 25:14He doesn't want to do that. He doesn't want to be in the
- 25:16public anymore. He wants to be the dude that
- 25:19just kind of like behind the scenes, make sure things are
- 25:23running. If politics was in a different
- 25:26climate it would be fine, but it just slows you down now.
- 25:30Oh yeah, 100. Percent, you can't do anything.
- 25:32Even even the correct initiative has an opposition and I'm not
- 25:37looking for opposition and and constituents.
- 25:42I'm looking to do something. I'm looking to build something.
- 25:44I want an empire like. Absolutely.
- 25:47And that's, that's very similar to what he's he's working on
- 25:51right now. So like he's got several
- 25:55different projects in the works, several different businesses he
- 26:02and the way that he's talked and the some of the stuff that he's
- 26:07shared with me. And I'm sure he's got even more
- 26:10behind the scenes that he hasn't shared with me.
- 26:13But what he has, I'm, I'm stoked to, you know, be able to provide
- 26:19a little bit of help, maybe, you know, buy into the program like
- 26:26the ideas that he has. The MLM.
- 26:30Yeah, buy into it so I can sell some shady ass energy drinks.
- 26:36Boom boom, right? Oh yeah.
- 26:39I It's also about who you surround yourself with and to
- 26:46that, would you have LLCD your photography without me
- 26:50constantly nagging you? Yes.
- 26:52OK. I was going to say, I hope I at
- 26:55least pushed you you you a little bit quicker.
- 26:57You pushed me quicker, yes, 100%.
- 26:59That was my plan all along. But it was because.
- 27:04Clearly I'm into doing it quickly for no good reason.
- 27:08It was, it was, it was time, though.
- 27:11It wasn't, you know, it wasn't because I, I wanted to get this,
- 27:15you know, I had a plan. You know, it was, it was time.
- 27:19I'll tell. You what?
- 27:20There's never a bad time to start an LLC.
- 27:22No, even if you don't do anything with it.
- 27:24Yeah, there's never a bad time to get actually like,
- 27:28incorporated, dude. Oh my God, there's so many
- 27:30benefits. The and, and the big thing that
- 27:35I, I think the main thing that was keeping me from actually
- 27:39doing it one was was funds. Cause I got my hands in so much
- 27:43right now that it seems like the moment I get a paycheck, it's
- 27:47going away, you know, like. Hopefully we help with that a
- 27:50little bit. Oh yeah, at least.
- 27:52A little bit. Yeah, 180, yeah, absolutely.
- 27:55Like I've already gotten more done in the short time that you
- 27:58guys have been here with this house that needed to get done,
- 28:04then the six months before you guys were here.
- 28:07I need to update our boards. Yeah, they're still on February.
- 28:13Going into April. We're getting done though.
- 28:15I wrote 4 tasks for March and that was like 2 days ago when I
- 28:21wrote them. And immediately the same day I
- 28:23got all four done. And it was, I mean, it was
- 28:25important stuff. It was military, it was
- 28:28permitting, it was, it was all sorts of stuff.
- 28:31It was insurance. It was rentals like it was.
- 28:35It was insane and just just having it on the board, having
- 28:38an actual. Task.
- 28:40List that I can look at and refer back to instead of keeping
- 28:43it all in my head. In multiple rooms in.
- 28:46Multiple rooms. It's so much easier than trying
- 28:48to juggle business, personal rentals, house like it.
- 28:53It's just it's too much to have in one one box.
- 28:57If anybody with ADHD has a problem with sticking to tasks,
- 29:04definitely put up like what is it's.
- 29:07It's not even poster board, it's like.
- 29:10Just get a dry erase. It's a dry erase board or.
- 29:14My thing was I did the dry erase board.
- 29:16No, he couldn't do it and it didn't work.
- 29:17He couldn't do a dry erase. It just didn't.
- 29:19Stick. I don't know what it was.
- 29:20It was just because it's a dry erase board.
- 29:22I immediately wrote it off as like a business thing.
- 29:24And it's like, yeah, I want to do that.
- 29:27I want to. I want to play Minecraft
- 29:28instead, literally at the time. Different people have different
- 29:32ways of like how they want to do things.
- 29:34But like, I guess it is like a poster board or like what what
- 29:40kids like kind of present their thesis, not thesis, but whatever
- 29:45their projects and literally just writing out, OK, this is
- 29:50what I want to do for January. This is what I want to do for
- 29:52February. And The thing is, like with the
- 29:55dry erase board, you could immediately just like wipe it
- 29:57off, whereas like what you use. It's not as permanent, it's.
- 30:02You're saying the dry erase the? DRY errors.
- 30:05Yeah, whereas like his, it's permanent.
- 30:07Like you're writing with permanent marker.
- 30:09You can't erase it. You can't even write on it with
- 30:11a pencil without it like messing up.
- 30:14And like with us, we're very into like, OK, well, you know,
- 30:21we didn't, we didn't get all of January done.
- 30:26But you see like when you cross it out like.
- 30:29Yeah, that, that. That cross out.
- 30:31I don't know the feel, I don't know the word, but the feeling
- 30:34of crossing off a task. Rather than erasing it, because
- 30:37erasing it is just like, OK, it's gone.
- 30:40But like seeing that it's gone, yeah, it's, I feel like it has
- 30:45something to do with like ADHD. But people could probably
- 30:47comment on like what they're gonna be.
- 30:50But then the other factor, like with you and I specifically is
- 30:54like, we're not, we're trying not to like dwell on things.
- 30:59So even if like some of the things like we had written down
- 31:03for January, yeah, is still technically on there.
- 31:06But it's like, OK, I will get to it.
- 31:09But at least we got all of these things, yeah?
- 31:12And that's the point. I'd like to get it done in
- 31:14January. If it doesn't get done in
- 31:16January, it's not a big deal. Yeah, it's.
- 31:18Still on the list? Yeah, and it's permanently on
- 31:23that list until we mark it off. But seeing that for me, I guess
- 31:28maybe not for you guys, but like for me seeing that like, well,
- 31:31no, we did this, this, this, this and this in January.
- 31:35Yeah, we may have like 3 or four other things, but like we got 5
- 31:39or 6 of them done. It definitely helps.
- 31:41Like we'll move on to the next month.
- 31:44And then like the other thing too, like with that specifically
- 31:48is like we had a January with a February in January and we
- 31:54crossed off stuff in January. We crossed off stuff in February
- 31:57too. And we were like, OK, we
- 32:01accomplished things. And then we got into the month
- 32:04of March and we started crossing off stuff from that was in
- 32:09January or stuff that was in February.
- 32:12And it's like we're not not doing things, but seeing that we
- 32:15got this accomplished, we got this accomplished, It's very
- 32:18helpful. So if you have ADHD or anything
- 32:20like that maybe use post board. It helps a lot actually, on a
- 32:25wall. Yeah, we literally just use
- 32:27tacks in a poster board. Like it helps a lot more than
- 32:29the dry erase. Also crossing it off and leaving
- 32:32it on the board. Yeah, 100%.
- 32:35Way more than just erasing it. And now it's gone forever.
- 32:38Like it. You can look back and go no, no,
- 32:40no, I did that. I did that.
- 32:41I got it done like we did. We did a ton of stuff.
- 32:46And when you erase it, for me it's the object pertinence.
- 32:50I can't see it. I didn't do it.
- 32:52So it it just disappears from my whole.
- 32:53Brain like or like, it doesn't matter.
- 32:56But no, looking back and actually seeing, OK, we did
- 32:59cross that off like we killed that.
- 33:01We did that. We fucking.
- 33:02Did it? Yeah.
- 33:03Just do it. Just do it.
- 33:06But no it it helped a. Lot yeah.
- 33:08And I feel like we've like seeing that.
- 33:11I feel like we've been more productive this year.
- 33:14Like even though like me personally, I haven't shit like
- 33:20I'm I'm I'm broken, I'm broken. But like I feel like I should
- 33:27have done that in the apartment in Boca.
- 33:30Like seeing like, OK, this is what I did.
- 33:34This is what I did this. That's probably why I'm not a
- 33:36huge fan of that one app, because when you do it, it goes
- 33:41away. Yeah.
- 33:43And then it's just there's nothing for you to look.
- 33:45Back there, I mean, you do like, you do get like rewards and
- 33:50stuff, but it's like. Yeah, when people tell me to
- 33:52gamify my life, they're like, make it a reward system.
- 33:55I'm like, I reward myself no matter what. 100%.
- 33:58I don't. I don't.
- 33:59I'm not a masochist anymore. I don't withhold treats because
- 34:03I didn't do good. Yeah, like that doesn't work for
- 34:06me. I I have no you're.
- 34:08Alive, you did good today. Like you reward yourself.
- 34:11I have no no reward center. It doesn't work like that for
- 34:16me. I didn't kill myself and I
- 34:18didn't kill anybody else. Yeah, exactly.
- 34:20No, I I do like that comedy bit. I can't remember who did the,
- 34:23the bit, but they literally said like, yes, they, they woke up
- 34:28and got dressed. Like yes, you should reward the
- 34:32millennials for doing that. They lived through everything so
- 34:37far, everything that you've ever heard of that was breaking news
- 34:41that was terrible. We've been alive for like, and
- 34:44that's not to take away from any other generation, but the
- 34:47millennials have the knowledge of the universe, literally the
- 34:52universe, not the world, the universe in our palms at all
- 34:56times. And we still wake up.
- 34:58Yeah, but I can get it done. Like, I know for sure the world
- 35:02will cease to exist at some point because we know through
- 35:06the Internet in our hand that the sun will expand and kill us
- 35:10all. And that's millions and billions
- 35:13of years. I get that.
- 35:14But it's still, we're human beings.
- 35:17We're just, we're just really smart Cavemen.
- 35:19And we learned. Oh my God, that's a terrible
- 35:22fact to have in my brain. I'm going to have to go to work
- 35:25now. Thanks, hated it.
- 35:27Yeah, thanks. Hated it.
- 35:29Wish you hadn't told me that. Yeah, I, I read something the
- 35:33other day. It was like being between the IQ
- 35:35of 110 and 120 is the worst possible life because you're
- 35:39just dumb enough not to be like that guy and you're just smart
- 35:44enough to have to be clued in like.
- 35:47How do you find your IQ test? On a government website I want
- 35:51to. Say, because you can't do like
- 35:53just like a like. No, I think it's.
- 35:54Literally like I think it's like a.
- 35:55Site or whatever. There's, there's a, there's a
- 35:59bunch of different. There's a name for the like the
- 36:02main one, like the Stratton test or something.
- 36:04Yeah, I think it's like Columbia.
- 36:05And there's, there's a few different ones that you can take
- 36:08that do things a little bit differently that kind of give
- 36:15you a general idea. And we've also figured out that
- 36:20the IQ test really doesn't. Mean anything it it.
- 36:24It means something, but at the same time it doesn't like test
- 36:27properly everything that yeah, that goes into IQ and but it's
- 36:33it's like a it's a jumping off point.
- 36:36That's why I personally think I didn't do well in school,
- 36:39because I don't do well. With.
- 36:42With the the type of learning that they have to be quantified
- 36:49on, I can't do the way that they have to teach you.
- 36:54They literally have to. Like if they don't teach you
- 36:58this way, they don't get their funding.
- 37:00Yeah. So it's not that they don't want
- 37:03to. They literally cannot.
- 37:04And that's not their fault. It just it doesn't work for
- 37:07everybody, including myself. I literally.
- 37:12I was very concerned. It sounded like a woman, like
- 37:16hollering in the background. I mean, it could be.
- 37:18Very weird. The house over there I.
- 37:21Don't know if you guys heard it, heard chance.
- 37:23Anyway, I'm like. But yeah, it's, it's, it's the
- 37:27same thing. Like, I, I don't want to blame
- 37:31it entirely on me because I, I did slack off in school too, but
- 37:36I, I sat in class many a time and was bored out of my mind to
- 37:43the point where I was daydreaming.
- 37:45Yeah, I mean, I, I, and I'm not blaming it entirely on that
- 37:49because I did slack off. I 100% slacked off 100%.
- 37:56I'm not denying. That, yeah.
- 37:57It reminds me of that Archer bit.
- 37:59Have you seen that one? I'm not entirely sure the.
- 38:01The robot that Krieger made is choking Carol.
- 38:05Oh yeah. She was like something about
- 38:08slacking off and Kriger and zipped his pants.
- 38:11She's like now now, now slacking off anyway.
- 38:15But. I.
- 38:17Like I feel like I didn't I I feel like I didn't slack off and
- 38:24there were multiple classes where I was like this is
- 38:30bullshit. Like in high school specifically
- 38:35and college too, like I took shut up.
- 38:42I took a precalculus class and if anybody fucking knows me like
- 38:49I take all of the notes and then like in the notes if the teacher
- 38:56said something I would put it on the side and.
- 39:01It's honestly psychotic. It is, but it.
- 39:03I've watched her do it. She fills up a spiral notebook
- 39:05on one one day. Yeah, it's insane.
- 39:09It's. I've.
- 39:10Never seen somebody do it. And and that he, what he's
- 39:13talking about is my the, the job that I'm like, Oh, no, no, in or
- 39:19currently. Me watching you go through
- 39:21college. Oh yeah, that's yeah.
- 39:23No, I literally watched you fill up.
- 39:25I thought you were saying. I thought you were saying like
- 39:28our like our manager meetings. No, no.
- 39:31Cause I've done that too. Like definitely.
- 39:33We're literally in a meeting that like not to take away from
- 39:37the company or whatever, but it it doesn't mean shit.
- 39:41But I took notes to kind of like go back and, and tell my, the
- 39:48people that were under me like, hey, you know, this is what we
- 39:52this is what I was told. And I feel like it might benefit
- 39:55you, but no in high school like I I also color coordinate notes
- 40:01too like. It's insane I can't.
- 40:04Insane can't do that. Like the tism is tizzing like
- 40:07it's insane. And like whenever I did homework
- 40:13like I would do like like the title and then like a for like
- 40:18the main section and then like B in like a different color.
- 40:21And then if it's like a specific like vocabulary word that had a
- 40:27definition with it, I would have it in a different color and I
- 40:29would highlight like it was insane.
- 40:32But I took a precal class and. Fucking Rain Man.
- 40:37I like, I tried to do everything possible to fucking understand
- 40:42this guy and he goes, so do you guys get it?
- 40:46And I had all the notes and I looked at it and I'm like, no.
- 40:49And I would go and raise my hand and he was like, good, So this
- 40:52is how we go to this. I'm like, so I'm trying to take
- 40:54more notes. And then from the notes, we
- 40:58would do the homework and I'm like, I think I got this.
- 41:00And like, I would kind of go like at like AC on the homework.
- 41:07And then he was like, no, that's wrong.
- 41:09I'm like, OK. And then I'd like have an F in
- 41:13the class and I'm like. That's exactly what happened to
- 41:15me in high school. I'm like, this doesn't, this
- 41:18doesn't make sense. Like, what the hell are you
- 41:21talking about? And everybody's like, oh, no,
- 41:23yeah, I understand him. And I'm like.
- 41:26That's exactly what. Happened to me.
- 41:27What do you mean you understand him?
- 41:29Because he is talking like like French Mandarin.
- 41:34Like, I know that's not like a like, I know that's not a real
- 41:37thing, but like, maybe I don't know.
- 41:39But it's hot. We.
- 41:41It's it was just one of those things.
- 41:45And then I also noticed that you are 100% a millennial.
- 41:48Yeah, 100 percent, 100%. Full time.
- 41:54Every other word was like oh. My God, I said.
- 41:58I'm glad. You.
- 41:59Wasn't. I just, I had to.
- 42:01No. You're glad you mentioned it?
- 42:04Oh. No, go back and listen to that
- 42:06whole spiel. It was like.
- 42:09Because I wasn't thinking about it.
- 42:11And The thing is. In like blue and I like did
- 42:16this. In my podcast, everything is new
- 42:19and you also put the camera there and I was staring directly
- 42:22into the camera and thinking, oh fuck.
- 42:24Into the void. It was bad, but.
- 42:27I've helped with the UMM. 100% like.
- 42:31The UMM used to be. Insane.
- 42:33But that's what I'm saying. It's you're 100% a millennial
- 42:36because 100% like is a filler word for millennials.
- 42:40That's OK. What's that filler word now?
- 42:43Bro. Brah, brah.
- 42:45Riz no. I used to interview people and I
- 42:51even being the whoever I am, I took notes on what I needed to
- 42:57say because I can't do phone interviews off the fucking whim.
- 43:02And I can't do normal interviews off the fucking whim because if
- 43:07I did that, we would talk about random shit.
- 43:11So I had a piece of paper in front of me and I would still
- 43:15get hung up. And I'm one of those people.
- 43:18When I talk really fast I do say like and umm and all that shit.
- 43:22Much like a script. Like that's what she needs.
- 43:25No, I I need a script. That's literally why I asked you
- 43:30earlier. What are we going to talk about
- 43:31today? So I can prepare and overthink
- 43:35and make sure that all of those fucking conversations are out of
- 43:38the way. It's the Amy and me.
- 43:42But then, then it's not the podcast.
- 43:43Podcast. The podcast is supposed to be
- 43:45just off the RIP. We can have ideas.
- 43:47We can bring ideas. It's it's me being recorded.
- 43:51It's me being video, not now, but it's me being videotaped.
- 43:54And I'm like. Well.
- 43:57That's. That's why the camera is there,
- 43:58so that you can get used to it being there so it becomes AI.
- 44:01Talk fast when I get really anxious and it's also not to
- 44:05throw you under the bus, but you always tell me to wrap it up.
- 44:10I used to. Yeah, you haven't done it in a
- 44:14while. A long time.
- 44:15But it's one of those things, I need to talk fast.
- 44:18And if I don't think of what I'm trying to say, I'm still trying
- 44:21to be in the moment so nobody can talk over me.
- 44:23And I I just now realized that that's a problem.
- 44:27It's not a problem not. You I just noticed I say not a
- 44:30problem. I say like so people won't talk
- 44:34over me because of like. Well, it's also a filler word.
- 44:38But I don't see it as a filler word.
- 44:39It's just one of those things. That the way you're using it is
- 44:43100%. Because I'm trying to fill yeah,
- 44:45filler word yeah, trying to fill the void you're.
- 44:47Filling the void, allowing yourself time to think while not
- 44:52giving up your thought So. Never been able to fill the
- 44:56void. You always fill the void.
- 45:01That's right. Thanks, hated it.
- 45:05Anyways, school sucks, I know. I I am a hands on learner, so
- 45:1399% of school is lectures and that bores the crap out of me
- 45:24when it comes to like music. I was totally in because guess
- 45:28what? You're doing it.
- 45:30Yeah. He's also a music major.
- 45:33I did major in music. Like a theater major.
- 45:36I was the lead in Little Shop of Horrors, my senior.
- 45:40Giant nerd. He's just jealous.
- 45:44Yeah, I know. And they?
- 45:46Sing. He didn't major in shit.
- 45:51How do you mean it? You didn't major in anything.
- 45:55Yeah, that was my high school thing.
- 45:56That was my my. What is it called the.
- 45:59I love you. To get a special class for it.
- 46:02Yeah, but you never your. Focus.
- 46:04I didn't finish high school. Hell no.
- 46:05Finish it. So you never majored in
- 46:07anything? Like not to be a dead no.
- 46:08But that's that's what my course selection was geared towards.
- 46:12That's what they were like when you get out.
- 46:13You enjoyed it? You're gonna need these
- 46:15prerequisites to do this, to do that, to do this.
- 46:18No, I think 11th grade wasn't it.
- 46:21When you left? Yeah, yeah.
- 46:23Yeah, I was done junior. It was three days after I turned
- 46:2618. 12 March 2011. Yeah.
- 46:30No, no, no 2010. I've been trying to get out of
- 46:34high school for years. And finally three days after I
- 46:37turned 18, I came home in the truck that my dad had given me.
- 46:40And don't get me wrong, it's a it's a giant beater, but it's
- 46:43still like a vehicle. Like I had the privilege and I
- 46:46still drove the truck he gave me back home.
- 46:49And when I dropped out and he's like, are you out of your mind?
- 46:53I was like, no, you did it, I can do it.
- 46:55And he's like, that's not the point.
- 46:57It was 11th grade. I'm messing that up.
- 47:00Yeah. March 2011.
- 47:03No but in school I I'd get 96 all day on in class work unless
- 47:09it's a lecture and then I kid you not I have had my backpack
- 47:14turned over and dumped out twice in my high school years from
- 47:20teachers who just are flabbergasted by me.
- 47:24I've upset teachers to the point of.
- 47:26Who were those teachers? One of them was it.
- 47:30Wasn't Nieves, was it? Yavis, Yeah.
- 47:33It was 1. Definitely Yavis.
- 47:35I can't remember the other one doesn't matter, but he.
- 47:38I don't even remember what happened.
- 47:40We had a good rapport and I was one of those kids that I don't
- 47:44like. I I had no separation between
- 47:46teacher and classmate. I everybody's getting it.
- 47:50Like, if you want to have it, yeah, you can have it.
- 47:54No, I. I think I.
- 47:56I think I took a stapler and put it on top of the the roll down
- 48:01projector screen and the whole class saw me.
- 48:05And the whole time he was like where I could see it, he's
- 48:08looking for the stapler, the whole class.
- 48:10And I finally was like, hey, it's up there.
- 48:13He was like, oh, OK, cool. And then he walked over to me,
- 48:16grabbed my backpack, unzipped it and turned it upside down and
- 48:19just dumped everything out. And I'm like, oh, you evil, evil
- 48:23person. Like that's such an ego check.
- 48:27So I've had. So was there anything in your
- 48:30backpack? That time, yeah, there was
- 48:32actually like. No, no, there was.
- 48:33Notes there was. Pencils, everything.
- 48:34But no, there was there was a couple times where they would go
- 48:37to run my backpack and nothing came out because the pillow that
- 48:42was the only thing in there was too big to come out without some
- 48:45force. I had nothing but a pillow.
- 48:48I literally have been to school more times than I can count with
- 48:52not a single thing in that bag. I.
- 48:54Think you went to F cat? I did with a pillow.
- 48:57I did because like you. Showed you showed me and tie.
- 49:00Yeah, the same thing as the rest of them.
- 49:01If you want me to do it, I'll get a 96 all day long.
- 49:05You always ask for pencils. Too so easy, but if you asked me
- 49:08to do homework, it's not getting done.
- 49:11Like I was the kid where every single class, every single class
- 49:15without fail to do your homework.
- 49:17No, no, I did not do my homework.
- 49:21I do work here and when I leave here, I'm no longer here.
- 49:24Like I'm not doing a single paper.
- 49:27Like I'm you're not getting an after credit, nothing.
- 49:30I'm not doing a thing. Like they they made, they got so
- 49:33mad because I had D's across the board because I never once did a
- 49:37homework assignment ever. Not once.
- 49:39And they were like you. Why don't you apply yourself
- 49:42like I do? I do.
- 49:44I am phenomenal when I feel like it.
- 49:46Well, I'm doing great in school, at home there's.
- 49:51Not like 30% of my grade on the homework, stop giving me
- 49:54homework. And they're like, we can't.
- 49:56It's the curriculum. I'm like that is your problem.
- 49:58Who makes the curriculum? There were so many teachers.
- 50:01There was one of them. He literally was like, I don't
- 50:03remember what it was. He got so mad.
- 50:05Like he was one of those guys that took it way too seriously.
- 50:08And, and now after it happened, him and I were perfectly fine,
- 50:13mutual respect across the board. When it happened, we both could
- 50:19have killed each other. I, I don't even know what
- 50:21happened, but I know he said something to me and I just was
- 50:24like, that's enough. And I just snapped on him.
- 50:27And I, I, I don't remember exactly what it was.
- 50:29It was, it was horrible shit. I was like, is this where you
- 50:33saw yourself at your age? A divorced, like, like math
- 50:39teacher in a high school in a place nobody gives a shit about.
- 50:42And he just like, OK, you can leave.
- 50:44I was like, you got it. He completely transferred me out
- 50:47of the class, Absolutely had me transferred out.
- 50:49Afterwards. He was like, I apologize.
- 50:52And I was like, me too. Neither one of us should have
- 50:54said none of that. Like it didn't have to go there.
- 50:56We were both having really bad days.
- 50:58Yeah, I was like, I apologize that it even it went anywhere
- 51:01near that. And he was like, yeah, it's no
- 51:02problem. Handshake in the hall every time
- 51:04we saw each other. How's it going?
- 51:05And that's the. Same teacher that throughout
- 51:08your. He tipped my bag like many
- 51:10times. No, I I was in mediation through
- 51:14school. I was in.
- 51:17Like remediate classes. No, like like they took you out
- 51:20of class to talk about like anger management.
- 51:23Oh shit I had that like twice. Drug management.
- 51:26I didn't. Straight up they were like, we
- 51:27know you're fucked up. I was like.
- 51:30Well, it wasn't, it wasn't anger management or drugs, but it I
- 51:35was in a group of people where they thought like our household,
- 51:41like my household was toxic. Like oof, bad and.
- 51:49It's a devastating blow to a parent.
- 51:50Yeah. And I think it was like a week
- 51:54or it was like a couple of days in each week or something like
- 51:58that, but it added up to like a couple days and and then I just
- 52:02didn't have to go to it anymore. And I was like, I, I don't
- 52:05understand. Like I don't, I don't remember
- 52:07ever participating in it. And that's probably why they
- 52:10were like, yeah, she doesn't need to be in here.
- 52:12Yeah, like, but I do remember that specifically in middle
- 52:16school, and I don't remember middle school very well, but I
- 52:20do remember multiple times people asking me like really
- 52:26weird questions, like, has this happened to you?
- 52:29Have you had this happen to you? What's going on in your home?
- 52:32And I'm like, I'm like, what the fuck are you talking about?
- 52:37And they were like, Are you sure?
- 52:39And I'm like, I'm pretty sure I would tell you like I was.
- 52:44To. Tell you.
- 52:45Yeah. And I'm like, no, my God.
- 52:48And then they're like, OK, well, we're gonna put you in the
- 52:50stuff. And I'm like, OK.
- 52:53And then in the class, I think they asked me, like the same
- 52:57shit. And I'm like, no, no, what is
- 53:03this? And then they were like, yeah,
- 53:04you don't need to be at the same one.
- 53:05Like, thanks. I didn't want to fucking be
- 53:07here. Speaking of which.
- 53:09Did you do that? So weird.
- 53:10Oh my God. Yeah, Elementary.
- 53:14I don't. I think so.
- 53:16So I had. Minnesotans.
- 53:18I had the certificate, I had the ribbon, I had the shirt.
- 53:21I got I. Didn't get the shirt I got.
- 53:22The full honors baby. I was a DARE kid and then
- 53:25immediately started pushing Oz through high school.
- 53:29I was the kid whose backpacks reeked of weed.
- 53:32Did you have in our elementary school, did you have the officer
- 53:38that came in? That was like super sexy.
- 53:41How about super sexy? He was.
- 53:43Jacked. Like 6 foot 4 like it was huge
- 53:47buzz cut fucking like he had a big nose but he was hot as.
- 53:51He was a big boy. No, not big, big.
- 53:53No, I'm saying like he, he. Was stacked but he was like slim
- 53:57as fuck. It was like, oh, if I heard his
- 53:59name I would know it's. Insane, she remembers.
- 54:01I would love. No like me and my mom to.
- 54:03The point where I get described as that.
- 54:07No. Super sexy.
- 54:09I mean he had a big nose but super.
- 54:11Sexy. I remember in first just grade.
- 54:13Woody. Harrelson like being like.
- 54:16Oh POV Woody. Harrelson, that's my boyfriend.
- 54:18And I'm like, my mom saw him. She was like, who the fuck is
- 54:21that? And I was like, I don't know.
- 54:22But he's our dare person. And like Loki, I want to like,
- 54:27have his kids. As a child.
- 54:30As a child, yeah. That's why you had stop classes.
- 54:32My first boyfriend and my first kiss was in kindergarten.
- 54:35Same. And then I kept having
- 54:38boyfriends. I didn't tell you.
- 54:40I dated the teacher's daughter. You.
- 54:43My first kiss was the teachers daughter.
- 54:45I can't comment it she. Hated me.
- 54:49I can't comment it. Loved the because she ever loved
- 54:52the My first boyfriend and kiss was in kindergarten.
- 54:56It's same, yeah, I dated the teacher's daughter and it's
- 55:00like. Really did.
- 55:02He said same, same. It's just same.
- 55:05I have so many stories. Oh my God, I so many.
- 55:07It's all coming back. So I was a an honored dare kid
- 55:12and then I immediately. Got the T-shirt, motherfucker.
- 55:15And then I immediately robbed the bank.
- 55:17Did you have a bank in your school?
- 55:19I oh, I thought you meant like a real bank.
- 55:21I was like, you never told me this.
- 55:23No the SO in school you would get manatee dollars.
- 55:28Money. Because you did good.
- 55:30You got an A, You had perfect attendance.
- 55:33Gross. So no, it was actually really
- 55:35fucking cute. You could go to like a store and
- 55:38stuff or you could like you could use that manatee money to
- 55:41like fuck off on homework. Like it was, it was a worldwide
- 55:46of like what you could use the money for and it was, it was
- 55:50amazing. So sorry to cut you off in 3rd
- 55:52or 4th I don't remember. I honestly can't remember but I
- 55:55do know that the opportunity to present itself.
- 55:58Then I walked away with a clear trash bag full of so much.
- 56:03I'm talking it was as big as me and I just walked off with this
- 56:06money and I'm talking a trash bag worth.
- 56:08They had a school meeting. The bank has been robbed.
- 56:12We don't know how it happened. They just sat it behind the
- 56:15counter and then nobody was sitting and it was a trash bag
- 56:17of money. And I literally was like that's
- 56:19mine and just took it with me and just started handing this
- 56:23stuff out. I stacks to people.
- 56:26In his pockets, his whole entire persona started.
- 56:30For school, my backpack is full, dude.
- 56:32I think we got not caught, but they they did like search my bag
- 56:37weeks later and there's stacks in that bag and they're like,
- 56:41OK, we know for sure 100% that that's you.
- 56:46You did that. And I'm like, prove it, prove
- 56:50it. And they're like we, we have no
- 56:52hard evidence but you. Have 8 or 9 year old.
- 56:55Bags like you can't, it can't not be you.
- 56:58And I'm like everybody's got stacks.
- 56:59I handed it out. Prove it.
- 57:02Like anyway that was. So funny I handed it out.
- 57:05Prove it I. Never told him I was like.
- 57:07No, in my head. No, in my no, I was the kid who
- 57:12I was like, I see that thing. Because I met you.
- 57:14When I first met you, I was. Like, I want that thing and I'm
- 57:16going to, I'm going to take it. Like it, it wasn't about poverty
- 57:20and it wasn't about anything. It was just like, I'm going to
- 57:22take that now. Like there was so many times
- 57:27where I just just whip just just off the table.
- 57:31That's mine. And it, it was nothing serious.
- 57:34Always gave it back. Like if you ask for, yeah, I got
- 57:36it. It's like I won't do it again.
- 57:39Did it again you? Used to take my shit now that I
- 57:41remembered in 8th grade. That was before we got together.
- 57:45Yeah, that's when I fell in love, though.
- 57:47You took my shit and I was like, oh bad boy.
- 57:51I was the, I was the kid where I was the Judd Nelson for sure.
- 57:56She had a shop class. I did not have her.
- 57:59Shop class yes. I would show up in her shop
- 58:03class and make personal things at school in her shop class.
- 58:08I did not go to that. Class like and.
- 58:11I would just build stuff. And and the other friends.
- 58:14Because I like shop. Class so I would skip who gives
- 58:16a shit and go to her shop class. It was the last class of the
- 58:20day, so I think you came back from the beach is what you said.
- 58:23I would also leave at lunch because again, the privilege of
- 58:27having a beater in high school, they would, I would just leave
- 58:30during lunch and then I would not come back.
- 58:33We would just go to the beach. I'd have everybody loaded up.
- 58:36I got in trouble a couple times. I would park in the parking lot
- 58:39outside of school grounds because they they can't do
- 58:41anything to me. I'm leaving, say something,
- 58:45close the gate. I'm already outside.
- 58:47So they would bring drug dogs in like probably every three
- 58:51months. And if you parked on school
- 58:53grounds, they're walking the dogs through the school and they
- 58:56would bust kids. I'm off property and they.
- 59:00You can't bust me for shit. Never bothered me.
- 59:02I was like, I'll do what I want. There was a point where I think
- 59:05it was like right at the end there where the drugs were
- 59:08getting pretty heavy and I had two, two 9mm underneath my
- 59:13driver's seat while I'm in class, we're talking about
- 59:18Shakespeare and I'm like, I don't need to be here anymore.
- 59:21I have succeeded like I'm I'm out like as soon as you're done
- 59:24talking, I'm out like, but. There was a couple of times,
- 59:29this one, this one Guy, Clark the shark.
- 59:33Shout out to Shark the Clark. It was a dickhead, Clark, the
- 59:37Shark. I think he was a wrestling coach
- 59:38or something and. Something he was.
- 59:41Just such a jerk off. Took his job way too seriously.
- 59:44Way too serious he did. He did driver's side.
- 59:47Oh my God, I had APA on my truck and he he would have binoculars
- 59:53and binocular the the parking lot off school grounds.
- 59:57Point of view. And he would take down the
- 59:59license plates. Point of view, his class was
- 1:00:04like not an outside class but like his class you could go
- 1:00:09outside and it was like the main gate area like right next to the
- 1:00:15the. 30 feet of the gate was his door.
- 1:00:18Like where he would park next to the church was maybe what, like
- 1:00:22a football? Yard my God, if it was a church.
- 1:00:25It was a church I. Parked in the church, parked a
- 1:00:27lot with drugs and guns like. Say all of that, but.
- 1:00:29Yeah, I forgot. So that's why they never took
- 1:00:32the dogs over there. Yeah.
- 1:00:34So like where? Where?
- 1:00:37You robbed God's chicken. No, I I robbed the manatee
- 1:00:41there. Also was a churches in the gas
- 1:00:45station right next to us too. I think that's from.
- 1:00:49I think so. But that.
- 1:00:50Was Cam, Yeah. Clark the shark would literally
- 1:00:53like look at all of like the seniors who would like skip out
- 1:00:57like on the first class and everything like that.
- 1:01:00Like he was a menace. And The thing is, is like the
- 1:01:04way that our like our classes when it was really stupid, like
- 1:01:09your first class you would have 1375 on Monday 247 and six on
- 1:01:17Tuesdays like Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday.
- 1:01:20So Monday and Thursday were the same Tuesday and Friday were the
- 1:01:23same. Wednesday you would have one
- 1:01:25through 6 and your Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday
- 1:01:31classes, they would be like an hour and 45 minutes for like the
- 1:01:35odd or even classes. And then your seventh period
- 1:01:40would be like an hour maybe, and you'd have like lunch sometime
- 1:01:45in between there. So you have to do like an hour
- 1:01:50and 45 minutes for your first period just to say that you were
- 1:01:55at school, so he had to sit through a class.
- 1:01:58Undoable. Almost 2 hours, like each main
- 1:02:03day and then like, fuck off and then come back like, what is it,
- 1:02:09like 1:00? Yeah.
- 1:02:11And then you'd be done at like 3.
- 1:02:14We had a split schedule at school.
- 1:02:17You never would have been able to handle that.
- 1:02:20I couldn't handle any schedule. No, like, but that's like it's
- 1:02:27the same thing every single day. We had an A&B schedule, so we
- 1:02:30had a days and B. Days.
- 1:02:31Oh, I heard of those. What is that?
- 1:02:34Could not. Do that four classes a day.
- 1:02:36I mean, so did we, except for Wednesdays.
- 1:02:41So we did 4-4 scheduled classes for an A day.
- 1:02:45Yeah, the next day was the other four classes.
- 1:02:48Yeah. And they were two hours apiece,
- 1:02:53basically. Yeah, that's what we that
- 1:02:55literally what I just said. Monday and Tuesday weren't the
- 1:02:59same classes. You had 7 periods.
- 1:03:04Yeah. 7 periods in a day. No.
- 1:03:10Because the way you described it was 7.
- 1:03:12PM so Mondays. That's what I thought we had.
- 1:03:14No. I was never there though, so.
- 1:03:16No Mondays you would have 1375. OK.
- 1:03:27And then Tuesdays it would be 2476.
- 1:03:34OK. The schedule we had were is you.
- 1:03:37Had technically you had seven classes, so 123-4567 your one
- 1:03:43class. No, your one year 3 and your 5
- 1:03:50would be Mondays and Thursdays with the 7th class in between.
- 1:03:55Ours was entirely different. How did yours?
- 1:03:57Dumbass schedule. It was literally A&B scheduled
- 1:04:00so. I mean, technically it was.
- 1:04:02It so it was some weeks were a weeks, some weeks were B.
- 1:04:07Weeks. So it wasn't weeks, it was days,
- 1:04:09OK. No, no no, it was A&B days, but
- 1:04:13some weeks were A weeks, some weeks were B weeks, and a week
- 1:04:16was Monday, Wednesday, Friday was A days, Tuesday, Thursday
- 1:04:20was B days on B weeks, Monday, Wednesday, Friday was B days,
- 1:04:26Tuesday, Thursday was B days. I feel like this train has hit a
- 1:04:29car that would make more just a screeching halt.
- 1:04:33That would make more sense. Yeah, so it was.
- 1:04:35You had and there were. Classes 7.
- 1:04:37Classes only on A days when you scheduled and classes that were
- 1:04:42only on B days when they were scheduled and they alternated.
- 1:04:46That makes it easier than what the fuck we had.
- 1:04:50Yeah, ours is confusing as fuck. Like.
- 1:04:52We also were on a grading scale. What was your grading scale?
- 1:04:55A through F. No, like, yes, obviously that
- 1:05:00was your grading sale. No shit, Ryan, what was the what
- 1:05:03was the low 90 or what was the low A?
- 1:05:079090 Talking for the Public Schools, 90. 80. 95 was the low
- 1:05:12a as. Simple as it could be. 95 was
- 1:05:14the low A so. Ours didn't actually really make
- 1:05:19a whole lot of sense. Damn Catholic schools.
- 1:05:22It would be no, he smells really bad or somebody does.
- 1:05:37Ours would be 190 is an A and then 89.
- 1:05:43To 80 a hundred. To. 90.
- 1:05:46And then 89 to 80 would be B and then 79 to 70 would be C and
- 1:05:52then 69 to 60 would be D and then everything other like after
- 1:05:58or below 59 would be an F. 69 was an F-75 to 70 was AD. 69's
- 1:06:06definitely an F. 676 to 85 was AC and then 86 to 94 was it AB
- 1:06:19Oh my God. And 95 to 100 was an A.
- 1:06:22For the listener still awake, Meh.
- 1:06:25I had one time I got picked up in a 2 door Mustang with a keg
- 1:06:30that was seat belted in the back seat.
- 1:06:33I talked to the kid who picked me up.
- 1:06:35Was it M no M Lowe's? Oh, no, no, no, Josh.
- 1:06:44So an old, yeah, an old maroon 2 door Mustang pulled into a
- 1:06:51school with no checks or balances.
- 1:06:55They parked outside my classroom.
- 1:06:57I walked out. I did not wait for the bell.
- 1:07:00I just walked out. Got in a 2 door car with two
- 1:07:03grown men and a keg seat belted in the back seat.
- 1:07:08I talked to him about it like 3 or 4 days ago and he like
- 1:07:12reminisced and he goes what losers were we that we were
- 1:07:15going to a high school to pick a kid up.
- 1:07:17I was like yeah but y'all are like 3 years older.
- 1:07:19Like it's not that bad. Y'all both dropped out.
- 1:07:23Like we ran in the same crowd, we lived in the same
- 1:07:26neighborhood. It's not that weird.
- 1:07:27It's like. But he was just like what?
- 1:07:30What Fucking losers. We were to go pick up a high
- 1:07:33school kid like, but I, I've had, I've had so many good
- 1:07:40stories of school. That's what I miss.
- 1:07:43I miss the people. And I said that when I left.
- 1:07:45I miss the people. I don't miss the place.
- 1:07:48I used to work for a construction company like
- 1:07:52Controls and we would do Orange County schools and I would have
- 1:07:57to go back to these schools that I have been in before.
- 1:08:00It felt no different. You open that double door,
- 1:08:04you're like, I don't want to be here, dude.
- 1:08:05I hate the smell of this place. I hate the sound that the heels
- 1:08:08make when they walk around. I hate the paper shuffling.
- 1:08:11I hate the tiles, I hate the lights.
- 1:08:13I hate the smell of the water. Like everything in here, I hate
- 1:08:17this place with a passion. Like absolutely was not.
- 1:08:21For me, Oh yeah. I can feel it right now.
- 1:08:24It's, it feels like prison. And that's what it was.
- 1:08:26Dude, I I'm not kidding, I was arrested.
- 1:08:30It's the same thing. Like your, your sense of
- 1:08:35freedom's a a rough word, but like your sense of independence,
- 1:08:39like I have no control whatsoever of my life.
- 1:08:43And it, it is, it sucks dude. I can't stand that feeling.
- 1:08:48Even going back for a job I hated to a place that I hate
- 1:08:51more. I was like, this is not for me,
- 1:08:53man. I hate it here.
- 1:08:55Oh my God, Get Me Out. And I told him I was like,
- 1:08:57don't, don't send me back to schools.
- 1:08:59Like I hate it so much. Stick me on actual construction
- 1:09:02sites with like concrete. Like I can't, I can't be inside
- 1:09:06anymore. Well, what a way to wrap up this
- 1:09:11episode. Is that it?
- 1:09:13That's it. Wow, 110.
- 1:09:15That's a quick one. Yeah, it it's something that
- 1:09:19like just us chatting, it goes by fast.
- 1:09:22It works. We're having a good time.
- 1:09:23I'm glad we started it, yeah. Wow look at that is a stupid
- 1:09:28place to put a house. It's on a Cliff, that's for
- 1:09:31sure. I so don't.
- 1:09:33Yeah. So if you guys have any topics

- 1:10:04I'll try not to say like so much.
- 1:10:07Oh. Millennial, you didn't now.
- 1:10:10I just kidding. You.
- 1:10:13What's the word? You reprimanded the talent.
- 1:10:17She's not coming out of her trail.
