- 1:48SPEAKER_1: Here's also what the family would like as far as communication,

- 2:40SPEAKER_1: to safety,
- 2:41SPEAKER_1: security,
- 2:43SPEAKER_1: public safety,
- 2:44SPEAKER_1: Father God, Lord,
- 2:45SPEAKER_1: that we can do it in a way in which community can trust law enforcement
- 2:49SPEAKER_1: and law enforcement can trust community.
- 2:51SPEAKER_1: Let us come together on tonight, Lord, as we seek
- 2:53SPEAKER_1: answers and we seek truth.

- 3:00SPEAKER_1: Bless our listening audience on tonight.
- 3:02SPEAKER_1: In Jesus' name,
- 3:02SPEAKER_1: I pray.
- 3:04SPEAKER_1: Amen.
- 3:04SPEAKER_1: Well, I'm Reverend Tony Alexander.
- 3:06SPEAKER_1: I'm glad to be with you on tonight.
- 3:07SPEAKER_1: And once again,
- 3:09SPEAKER_1: on tonight,
- 3:09SPEAKER_1: we're going to be speaking about the situation that happened on July 22nd,
- 3:16SPEAKER_1: in which we had a 21-year-old Dalys Jett who lost his life.
- 3:22SPEAKER_1: And it was due to an officer-involved shooting in which that happened,
- 3:30SPEAKER_1: a couple of officers were actually injured as well.
- 3:36SPEAKER_1: We're thankful that they're still here, but we have a family.
- 3:41SPEAKER_1: We have a family that is mourning the loss of their loved one,
- 3:45SPEAKER_1: and that is Brother Dalys, and we're going to be talking about that on tonight.
- 3:50SPEAKER_1: Before we bring our guest on,
- 3:52SPEAKER_1: I want to at least,
- 3:54SPEAKER_1: we're going to kind
- 3:56SPEAKER_1: of set the stage on some reporting that we are aware of
- 4:02SPEAKER_1: in regards to this incident.
- 4:05SPEAKER_1: And then once again,
- 4:07SPEAKER_1: if you want to be part of the conversation,
- 4:09SPEAKER_1: you can call into the radio station and that number is 317-480-1310.
- 4:15SPEAKER_1: And we want to say good evening to Brother Gerrelian, who is with us on Facebook.
- 4:20SPEAKER_1: But let's go ahead and we'll highlight some of the reporting,
- 4:25SPEAKER_1: the most recent reporting that we have, at least in regards to this situation.
- 4:34SPEAKER_2: [WTHR Channel 13 report] Laid their request to view the body cam video.
- 4:37SPEAKER_2: This comes after now we've learned that the second injured officer was released from
- 4:41SPEAKER_2: the hospital after receiving care.
- 4:43SPEAKER_2: That discharge was on Monday.
- 4:45SPEAKER_2: Ashton Hackman now explains tonight why the family says seeing that video is
- 4:49SPEAKER_2: so critical to them.
- 4:52SPEAKER_2: Two weeks after he was killed in an alleged shootout with police,
- 4:55SPEAKER_2: the family of 21-year-old Dalys Jett says they're still waiting for answers.
- 4:59SPEAKER_2: It happened July 22nd near 38th and Franklin.
- 5:02SPEAKER_2: Police say Jett fired at officers as they responded to a disturbance call.
- 5:06SPEAKER_2: Two officers were shot, one by accidental friendly fire from a fellow officer.
- 5:11SPEAKER_3: We're not trying to sort out the facts.
- 5:15SPEAKER_3: As we've seen, those are shifting depending on what update IMPD provides.
- 5:22SPEAKER_2: Family says they were told they could view the video after
- 5:24SPEAKER_2: the second injured officer was released from the hospital.
- 5:27SPEAKER_2: That officer went home Monday, but family says they're still waiting.
- 5:31SPEAKER_3: Chief Terry has made it clear that the family is within their legal right to see it.
- 5:39SPEAKER_3: We don't need to see it next week.
- 5:41SPEAKER_3: We need to see it this week and we need to see it as soon as possible.
- 5:44SPEAKER_2: In a statement,
- 5:45SPEAKER_2: IMPD said they are committed to transparency and intends to respond to
- 5:48SPEAKER_2: the family's request and share the footage with Mr.
- 5:50SPEAKER_2: Jett's family, required under state law.
- 5:53SPEAKER_2: Adding the delay is to protect the integrity of the investigative process and out
- 5:57SPEAKER_2: of respect for everyone involved.
- 5:59SPEAKER_2: Jett's family says seeing the video would help provide answers.
- 6:03SPEAKER_3: To delay that any further,
- 6:05SPEAKER_3: the lack of transparency becomes how people start to perceive what is happening.
- 6:13SPEAKER_3: We want to be clear about what happened.
- 6:16SPEAKER_3: We don't want Dalys to be remembered for whatever it is that people's narrative
- 6:22SPEAKER_3: of him is shaping.
- 6:24SPEAKER_3: We want to state our facts about who Dalys is.
- 6:27SPEAKER_2: In Indianapolis, Ashton Hackman, 13 News.
- 6:31SPEAKER_1: All right.
- 6:31SPEAKER_1: So there you go.
- 6:32SPEAKER_1: You just heard reporting from WTHR here in Indianapolis.
- 6:37SPEAKER_1: And on behalf of the family,
- 6:40SPEAKER_1: you heard there,
- 6:41SPEAKER_1: Pastor Davanta Scruggs,
- 6:42SPEAKER_1: who was sharing what the family's desires and wishes are in regards
- 6:47SPEAKER_1: to this incident.
- 6:49SPEAKER_1: And we're glad to have Pastor Scruggs with us.
- 6:52SPEAKER_1: Good evening.
- 6:53SPEAKER_1: How are you?
- 6:54SPEAKER_3: Good evening, Reverend Alexander.
- 6:57SPEAKER_3: Well, it's certainly a privilege to be with you.
- 7:00SPEAKER_3: Unfortunately, under these circumstances, we're certainly praying for the family.
- 7:05SPEAKER_3: We're hoping that the family is able not just to find justice
- 7:10SPEAKER_3: in this particular case,
- 7:12SPEAKER_3: but you know,
- 7:13SPEAKER_3: to also find peace,
- 7:14SPEAKER_3: you know, as they're trying to grieve, you know, the loss of a loved one as well.
- 7:18SPEAKER_3: So we don't,
- 7:20SPEAKER_3: you know,
- 7:20SPEAKER_3: take that lightly,
- 7:21SPEAKER_3: that there's a family that,
- 7:23SPEAKER_3: you know,
- 7:23SPEAKER_3: as holidays come up,
- 7:24SPEAKER_3: birthdays come up,
- 7:25SPEAKER_3: and other celebrations come up, that there's going to be empty chairs.
- 7:31SPEAKER_3: So we certainly,
- 7:32SPEAKER_3: on behalf of the Concerned Clergy,
- 7:33SPEAKER_3: want to extend our condolences and our heartfelt grief as well with the family.
- 7:42SPEAKER_1: But as we just listened to the reporting,
- 7:45SPEAKER_1: Pastor Scruggs, we've heard that there were some officers that were injured.
- 7:52SPEAKER_1: We also,
- 7:53SPEAKER_1: of course,
- 7:53SPEAKER_1: know that the family has lost a loved one, but we have some unanswered questions.
- 7:59SPEAKER_1: And I'm going to kind of,
- 8:00SPEAKER_1: you know,
- 8:01SPEAKER_1: just kind of toss it over to you to kind of tell us as we stand
- 8:05SPEAKER_1: on this evening right now at 7:08,
- 8:08SPEAKER_1: where is the family now as far as their understanding on when they will be able
- 8:15SPEAKER_1: to either review body-worn camera footage or getting more answers from
- 8:21SPEAKER_1: the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department?
- 8:26SPEAKER_3: Well, first, I just want to say thank you for welcoming me onto the call.
- 8:33SPEAKER_3: Our family has endured a devastating tragedy.
- 8:40SPEAKER_3: When we look at where we are right now, the family doesn't have any answers.
- 8:46SPEAKER_3: We are still awaiting for a confirmation as to when the body cam footage will be shown.
- 8:56SPEAKER_3: And so we've been left in the dark this whole time.
- 9:03SPEAKER_3: And I dare not go into the facts of the case as we are not sure about these facts.
- 9:12SPEAKER_3: And that's why we're looking to see the body cam footage
- 9:17SPEAKER_3: to see exactly what happened and so that the family can move forward.
- 9:23SPEAKER_1: If you'd like to be part of the conversation, feel free to call into the radio station.
- 9:27SPEAKER_1: The number is 317-480-1310,
- 9:30SPEAKER_1: or you can also comment on our Facebook page, the Concerned Clergy of Indianapolis.
- 9:35SPEAKER_1: Now, Pastor Scruggs,
- 9:37SPEAKER_1: let's kind of back up a little bit and just make sure,
- 9:41SPEAKER_1: matter of fact,
- 9:42SPEAKER_1: even for myself,
- 9:43SPEAKER_1: you're not just representing the family, but you are part of the family.
- 9:47SPEAKER_1: Is that correct?
- 9:49SPEAKER_3: Correct.
- 9:49SPEAKER_3: Dalys was my little cousin.
- 9:53SPEAKER_3: His father is my uncle.
- 9:57SPEAKER_3: And to see this transpire has truly broken our hearts.
- 10:05SPEAKER_3: And we're truly at a loss for words as to what to do and what to say since
- 10:14SPEAKER_3: his death.
- 10:17SPEAKER_1: And let's as...
- 10:20SPEAKER_1: If we can kind of even, you know, back up a little bit just for our listening audience.
- 10:24SPEAKER_1: So this incident happened on July 22nd.
- 10:29SPEAKER_1: Initial, I'll say reports or even statements that came from IMPD were reported.
- 10:36SPEAKER_1: That Dalys fired at IMPD police officers.
- 10:43SPEAKER_1: And then in return,
- 10:45SPEAKER_1: that's why we had an officer-involved shooting in which Dalys was struck and
- 10:53SPEAKER_1: then succumbed to his injuries.
- 10:55SPEAKER_1: But in addition to that, we had police officers that were also struck.
- 11:00SPEAKER_1: And one of the,
- 11:02SPEAKER_1: I'll say when we go back to initial reports,
- 11:06SPEAKER_1: one of the first things we saw was,
- 11:09SPEAKER_1: I think,
- 11:10SPEAKER_1: Pastor Scruggs,
- 11:11SPEAKER_1: some ring doorbell footage in which you saw a lot of officers,
- 11:15SPEAKER_1: I'll say three to four, if I can recall, surrounding Dalys.
- 11:22SPEAKER_1: And then hearing that he did something,
- 11:26SPEAKER_1: but not being able to actually see that in the ring doorbell camera footage,
- 11:33SPEAKER_1: whether or not he pulled out a weapon, had a weapon or any of that.
- 11:37SPEAKER_1: And then there were statements that were made that said that he definitely fired a weapon.
- 11:42SPEAKER_1: But subsequently, it seems to be that there's been some backing off of that.
- 11:49SPEAKER_1: One has been because one of the injured IMPD officers had been in the hospital
- 11:57SPEAKER_1: and they were not able to provide statements in regards to what happened.
- 12:03SPEAKER_1: But also, IMPD has come out and said, we...
- 12:07SPEAKER_1: can definitively say now that we know that one of these officers at least was struck
- 12:15SPEAKER_1: by friendly fire, if you will, or from another officer's weapon.
- 12:24SPEAKER_1: What has been communicated to the family in that regard as far as what you can
- 12:31SPEAKER_1: at least say, here's what we know right now.
- 12:34SPEAKER_1: What happened from an officer's handgun versus what happened from
- 12:39SPEAKER_1: a potential someone else's handgun?
- 12:44SPEAKER_3: Yeah, Reverend Alexander, again, we are not clear about what has happened.
- 12:51SPEAKER_3: IMPD has given reports about several different accounts, has taken back those accounts.
- 13:03SPEAKER_3: And said how things have changed over the course of the investigation.
- 13:12SPEAKER_3: And so we're not able to really speak on the facts of the case.
- 13:20SPEAKER_3: And that's why we are continuing to call for IMPD to release the body cam footage
- 13:28SPEAKER_3: as soon as possible.
- 13:31SPEAKER_3: The fact that the officer needs to review all of the body cam footage,
- 13:39SPEAKER_3: giving a statement,
- 13:41SPEAKER_3: and then the family being allowed to view the body cam footage,
- 13:46SPEAKER_3: as when Chief Terry said that that is not a part of any state law or local law,
- 13:55SPEAKER_3: that is simply IMPD's policy and procedure.
- 14:01SPEAKER_3: And so we've just been requesting via social media
- 14:07SPEAKER_3: through contact
- 14:09SPEAKER_3: that IMPD has made that they release that body cam footage
- 14:15SPEAKER_3: and it has been postponed.
- 14:19SPEAKER_3: And now a date has not been set as to when IMPD will be releasing that.
- 14:28SPEAKER_1: So let's kind of go back again because there was a meeting that was scheduled with
- 14:36SPEAKER_1: the family to review the body cam footage and that was scheduled for last Friday,
- 14:43SPEAKER_1: July 31st.
- 14:45SPEAKER_1: So here we are.
- 14:46SPEAKER_3: Last Thursday.
- 14:48SPEAKER_1: Oh, Thursday.
- 14:49SPEAKER_1: Okay.
- 14:49SPEAKER_1: So it was last Thursday on the 30th.
- 14:52SPEAKER_1: So now here we are,
- 14:55SPEAKER_1: you know,
- 14:56SPEAKER_1: almost a week later,
- 14:57SPEAKER_1: you know, we are a week later because tomorrow will be another Thursday.
- 15:02SPEAKER_1: And the family was told that they would at least be able to see
- 15:07SPEAKER_1: the body cam footage,
- 15:11SPEAKER_1: the raw body cam footage,
- 15:13SPEAKER_1: you know,
- 15:14SPEAKER_1: before even the community was able to,
- 15:17SPEAKER_1: you know, get the narrative that, you know, is put together for the community.
- 15:23SPEAKER_1: But that was delayed.
- 15:26SPEAKER_1: And you just mentioned that part of the reason for that delay was because
- 15:32SPEAKER_1: the officer that was injured was still in the hospital and that officer needed
- 15:38SPEAKER_1: to review that same footage and provide a statement.
- 15:44SPEAKER_1: Wasn't that known that that officer was injured before the meeting was even set?
- 15:50SPEAKER_3: That is my understanding, yes.
- 15:53SPEAKER_1: So we knew we had an injured officer.
- 15:56SPEAKER_1: We knew we had an officer that had not seen the footage.
- 16:00SPEAKER_1: We knew that the officer had not made a statement,
- 16:03SPEAKER_1: but yet we set
- 16:05SPEAKER_1: a date for the family in which they're expecting a date.
- 16:09SPEAKER_1: And I'll start right there because that right there is something simple.
- 16:15SPEAKER_1: That's something simple that if you're communicating with a family
- 16:19SPEAKER_1: in this particular community -- you know --
- 16:21SPEAKER_1: type of incident, you can at least say, well, we know we have an injured officer.
- 16:26SPEAKER_1: Here is our protocol.
- 16:29SPEAKER_1: And Pastor Scruggs said that, okay,
- 16:31SPEAKER_1: it's not state law,
- 16:32SPEAKER_1: but what it is,
- 16:33SPEAKER_1: is here's just part of the procedure for IMPD that they would like to,
- 16:38SPEAKER_1: you know,
- 16:38SPEAKER_1: make sure that officers see the footage and have an opportunity to even make
- 16:43SPEAKER_1: a statement based on the footage.
- 16:45SPEAKER_1: You know, we can, you know, go back and forth on that, whether or not we agree with that or not.
- 16:50SPEAKER_1: However,
- 16:51SPEAKER_1: I'm not going to do that tonight because what I want to just say is communicate that
- 16:55SPEAKER_1: to the family.
- 16:57SPEAKER_1: Regardless of what it is, let the family know that so they're not expecting on Tuesday,
- 17:04SPEAKER_1: we're getting ready on Thursday,
- 17:05SPEAKER_1: we're going to have this meeting and then being told the last minute,
- 17:09SPEAKER_1: well, no, we're not going to have a meeting and here's why.
- 17:13SPEAKER_1: How did that make the family feel?
- 17:16SPEAKER_3: The family is really in a space where we're asking questions and we're trying
- 17:23SPEAKER_3: to have those questions answered and we are needing closure
- 17:30SPEAKER_3: about what has transpired on the night of July 22nd.
- 17:35SPEAKER_3: And we're hoping that IMPD will do the right thing by releasing the body cam footage
- 17:44SPEAKER_3: as soon as possible so that we can start to form an understanding
- 17:52SPEAKER_3: of what transpired.
- 17:55SPEAKER_3: It is frustrating to say the least that a mother and a father is going to have
- 18:04SPEAKER_3: to bury their 21-year-old son and look at their 4-year-old grandson come Saturday.
- 18:12SPEAKER_3: And it's a possibility if IMPD has not shown the body cam footage by then
- 18:21SPEAKER_3: that they would have to close the casket of their son,
- 18:25SPEAKER_3: bury him, and not have any answers to what has transpired.
- 18:33SPEAKER_3: And so it is heartbreaking.
- 18:37SPEAKER_3: It is frustrating.
- 18:38SPEAKER_3: And that's why we continue to tell IMPD,
- 18:41SPEAKER_3: Chief Terry,
- 18:44SPEAKER_3: Deputy Chief Kendall Adams,
- 18:46SPEAKER_3: just release the body cam footage so that the family can see what transpired
- 18:52SPEAKER_3: that night and begin to move forward.
- 18:56SPEAKER_1: Help me understand something because even understanding that, okay,
- 19:01SPEAKER_1: there was a meeting scheduled with the family for the raw body-worn camera footage.
- 19:09SPEAKER_1: Then that meeting was postponed.
- 19:15SPEAKER_1: Help us understand at least from
- 19:21SPEAKER_1: what was communicated to the family.
- 19:23SPEAKER_1: Was there anything other than the fact that the officer
- 19:27SPEAKER_1: that was injured had not seen the body-worn camera footage?
- 19:31SPEAKER_1: Was there anything else there that was shared with the family for reasons why not
- 19:37SPEAKER_1: to see that footage?
- 19:39SPEAKER_3: That that officer had not seen all of the footage and has not given a statement as
- 19:48SPEAKER_3: to what transpired that night.
- 19:52SPEAKER_1: And the family even agreed,
- 19:54SPEAKER_1: my understanding at least from what I've seen reported,
- 19:58SPEAKER_1: was that the family agreed that we were not going to make any public statements
- 20:02SPEAKER_1: until IMPD was ready to make those public statements.
- 20:05SPEAKER_3: Correct.
- 20:06SPEAKER_1: Can you speak to that piece?
- 20:08SPEAKER_3: Yes.
- 20:10SPEAKER_3: You know,
- 20:11SPEAKER_3: we shared with Chief Terry that,
- 20:13SPEAKER_3: hey, you know, if you're able to share with us the body cam footage.
- 20:20SPEAKER_3: This was Friday when we had that conversation -- that we would hold off
- 20:24SPEAKER_3: on making any statements if they were able to share that body cam footage to us
- 20:30SPEAKER_3: by today.
- 20:33SPEAKER_3: And Chief Terry was unequivocally clear that they were not going to show the body cam footage
- 20:43SPEAKER_3: until after the officer has seen it and given her statement.
- 20:50SPEAKER_3: We don't know when she's going to give her statement.
- 20:56SPEAKER_3: We weren't clear when she would get out of the hospital,
- 21:02SPEAKER_3: nor were we contacted and shared that information.
- 21:05SPEAKER_3: We learned that in the media just like everyone else.
- 21:10SPEAKER_1: So our understanding is that the officer in question,
- 21:14SPEAKER_1: and I don't have her name here in front of me, has been released from the hospital.
- 21:20SPEAKER_1: I think that was the last reporting is that that officer has been released
- 21:24SPEAKER_1: and hopefully is at home recovering.
- 21:26SPEAKER_1: And we want to see that.
- 21:28SPEAKER_1: We want to see a speedy recovery, as a matter of fact.
- 21:31SPEAKER_1: But we also want to make sure this family is getting some speedy answers as well.
- 21:38SPEAKER_1: So even in the communication that the family is getting with regards to,
- 21:46SPEAKER_1: okay, the officer has to make a statement.
- 21:49SPEAKER_1: Is there a timeline that the officer has to make a statement?
- 21:54SPEAKER_1: Is there anything there that you've been given?
- 21:56SPEAKER_1: Okay, here's some other,
- 21:58SPEAKER_1: I'll say internal,
- 22:00SPEAKER_1: I'll say policies and procedures that we may have within IMPD
- 22:04SPEAKER_1: that will delay this any longer.
- 22:08SPEAKER_3: I can't speak to that.
- 22:10SPEAKER_3: I'm not sure as to when the officer is going to give the statement,
- 22:19SPEAKER_3: the timeline that they have to make their statement.
- 22:24SPEAKER_3: I don't even want to speculate as to when that is transpiring,
- 22:30SPEAKER_3: but it is to our understanding that that statement hasn't been made.
- 22:36SPEAKER_3: So we're still waiting to see the body cam footage.
- 22:42SPEAKER_3: And from my understanding,
- 22:44SPEAKER_3: that is delayed because the officer needs to review it and the officer needs to make
- 22:50SPEAKER_3: a statement.
- 22:51SPEAKER_3: We're not sure when that's going to happen.
- 22:54SPEAKER_3: But we're hoping that we will be able to see this
- 23:01SPEAKER_3: footage before Saturday.
- 23:05SPEAKER_3: So that the family can come to some type of closure and to move forward.
- 23:11SPEAKER_1: We're certainly going to talk about that because it's going to be a celebration of life.
- 23:14SPEAKER_1: It's coming Saturday and we want you to share a little bit more about that.
- 23:19SPEAKER_1: But before we do that, we do have to go to a commercial break.
- 23:22SPEAKER_1: If you'd like to be part of the conversation,
- 23:24SPEAKER_1: you have a question or comment here for Pastor Scruggs,
- 23:27SPEAKER_1: you can call into the radio station.
- 23:29SPEAKER_1: The phone number is 317-480-1310.
- 23:33SPEAKER_1: Once again, 317-480-1310.
- 23:36SPEAKER_1: But we're getting ready to go to our commercial break.
- 23:38SPEAKER_1: And once again,
- 23:39SPEAKER_1: once we come back,
- 23:39SPEAKER_1: we'll share some of the details in regards to the celebration of life and what
- 23:45SPEAKER_1: the family is doing in remembrance of Brother Dalys.
- 23:48SPEAKER_1: Let's go to our commercial break.
- 23:50SPEAKER_1: When we come back, we'll continue our conversation.
- 23:54SPEAKER_1: Call in 317-480-1310.
- 23:56SPEAKER_1: You're listening to the Concerned
- 23:57SPEAKER_1: Clergy Radio
- 23:58SPEAKER_1: Show
- 23:58SPEAKER_1: on Praise AM 1310, 95.1 FM, Indy's Inspiration Station.
- 24:09SPEAKER_1: Welcome back to the Concerned Clergy Radio Show.
- 24:11SPEAKER_1: I'm Reverend Tony Alexander, and I'm glad to be
- 24:13SPEAKER_1: joined on this evening.
- 24:16SPEAKER_1: With Pastor Davanta Scruggs, and he's one of the family members
- 24:21SPEAKER_1: and representing also the family for Dalys Jett who was a victim,
- 24:31SPEAKER_1: if you will, from an officer-involved shooting on July 22nd.
- 24:35SPEAKER_1: We've been sharing what the family would like to see as far as communication
- 24:41SPEAKER_1: from IMPD, what has been communicated thus far.
- 24:49SPEAKER_1: Also,
- 24:50SPEAKER_1: there's going to be a celebration of life that's going to be on this coming Saturday
- 24:55SPEAKER_1: as well.
- 24:56SPEAKER_1: If you could, go ahead and speak to that piece, Pastor Scruggs.
- 24:59SPEAKER_1: Share with the community how they can support this family in the celebration of life.
- 25:06SPEAKER_3: So there are two ways to support the family this weekend with your attendance and prayers.
- 25:13SPEAKER_3: On Friday evening at the Hovey Street Church of Christ,
- 25:18SPEAKER_3: we will be holding a press conference at 5 p.m.
- 25:22SPEAKER_3: with a prayer vigil starting at 6 p.m.
- 25:27SPEAKER_3: We will give the community the opportunity to come and share
- 25:34SPEAKER_3: their memories of Dalys, their concerns with the city and IMPD as to what has transpired.
- 25:46SPEAKER_3: We'll hear from Dalys's mother and Dalys's father at the press conference on Friday.
- 25:55SPEAKER_3: And we're also,
- 25:58SPEAKER_3: we'll have there,
- 26:00SPEAKER_3: they were working with Live Free Indy,
- 26:06SPEAKER_3: the Black Church Coalition,
- 26:09SPEAKER_3: and the
- 26:16SPEAKER_3: Party for Socialism and Liberation,
- 26:18SPEAKER_3: PSL, will also be partnering with us, organizing Friday's events.
- 26:27SPEAKER_3: And then Saturday morning,
- 26:29SPEAKER_3: we will have a viewing from 9 a.m.
- 26:31SPEAKER_3: to 12 p.m.
- 26:34SPEAKER_3: at New Direction Church at their Triumph Center with the celebration of life being
- 26:42SPEAKER_3: at 12 p.m.
- 26:45SPEAKER_1: And we certainly want to be walking with that family in prayer and love as
- 26:51SPEAKER_1: the upcoming days are coming in which they have to lay their family member to rest
- 26:57SPEAKER_1: and remember.
- 26:59SPEAKER_1: Now, if you'd like to be part of the conversation,
- 27:03SPEAKER_1: feel free to call into the radio station, the number, 317-480-1310.
- 27:08SPEAKER_1: You can also comment on our Facebook page, Concerned Clergy of Indianapolis.
- 27:12SPEAKER_1: But let's kind of go back to that particular night.
- 27:16SPEAKER_1: My understanding,
- 27:18SPEAKER_1: and feel free to either fill in some gaps, holes,
- 27:21SPEAKER_1: or correct anything I may say,
- 27:23SPEAKER_1: my understanding is that there was an incident in which Brother Dalys had
- 27:29SPEAKER_1: to go back and he was looking for his wallet,
- 27:32SPEAKER_1: you know, with the mother, if I recall correctly, of his child.
- 27:38SPEAKER_1: He was just going back for that.
- 27:40SPEAKER_1: Something happened in which, okay, law enforcement was called.
- 27:44SPEAKER_1: And then after that, you know, that's where it's, okay, did he even really have a weapon?
- 27:52SPEAKER_1: If he had a weapon, did he actually pull out the weapon?
- 27:56SPEAKER_1: If he actually pulled out the weapon, did he point it in any direction?
- 28:01SPEAKER_1: I've heard some different, I'll say commentary on exactly from some of the witnesses.
- 28:08SPEAKER_1: What can you share that the family at least understands right now as
- 28:14SPEAKER_1: to exactly what happened in that regards?
- 28:19SPEAKER_3: We have no clear understanding as to what has happened.
- 28:24SPEAKER_3: And that's why we have called on the community, clergy,
- 28:30SPEAKER_3: organizations to stand with us, to call on IMPD to release the body cam footage.
- 28:39SPEAKER_3: So that we can start to answer some of those questions.
- 28:44SPEAKER_3: We're not sure as to the events that have occurred.
- 28:48SPEAKER_3: There are so many people on
- 28:52SPEAKER_3: Facebook who are commenting
- 28:56SPEAKER_3: and sharing different things based off of their perspective.
- 29:01SPEAKER_3: And the family does not want to share a particular perspective.
- 29:07SPEAKER_3: We just want to know the facts.
- 29:09SPEAKER_3: And that's why we are really asking for people to pick up the phone,
- 29:15SPEAKER_3: to call your council members,
- 29:19SPEAKER_3: to call IMPD and tell them to release the body footage.
- 29:26SPEAKER_3: And I think that if we keep that message clear,
- 29:30SPEAKER_3: then the questions that you're asking tonight,
- 29:34SPEAKER_3: we can have a better understanding and answer those questions.
- 29:38SPEAKER_3: But as to what IMPD has reported,
- 29:43SPEAKER_3: their narrative or the chain of events have changed.
- 29:51SPEAKER_3: They said that Dalys shot.
- 29:53SPEAKER_3: Now they're saying that based on our latest statement,
- 29:57SPEAKER_3: now they're saying that they can't definitively say that Dalys fired a gun
- 30:03SPEAKER_3: that allegedly they're saying was in his possession.
- 30:08SPEAKER_3: And so the fact that they accused him of shooting two officers,
- 30:14SPEAKER_3: and now we find out that an officer has shot another officer.
- 30:21SPEAKER_3: We don't know what happened.
- 30:25SPEAKER_3: And that is why we're trying to come to some understanding and really pressing
- 30:31SPEAKER_3: on Chief Terry to
- 30:36SPEAKER_3: release this body cam footage because it's unclear to everyone
- 30:42SPEAKER_3: and everybody is asking the same question.
- 30:45SPEAKER_3: Just as you're asking me tonight, what do you think would happen?
- 30:50SPEAKER_3: We're trying to figure out what actually happened.
- 30:53SPEAKER_3: So then we're not going based off our emotions.
- 30:56SPEAKER_3: We're not going based off of what we think, but we're going based off of the facts.
- 31:02SPEAKER_3: That is shown to us.
- 31:03SPEAKER_3: And at this very moment, at 7:33 p.m., we have no facts.
- 31:08SPEAKER_3: We have not seen anything.
- 31:10SPEAKER_3: And we can't really say what happened because we don't know what happened.
- 31:16SPEAKER_1: So the family of Dalys Jett, they're asking, you know, for answers.
- 31:21SPEAKER_1: And they're asking for those answers from
- 31:25SPEAKER_1: IMPD, regardless of where it points to,
- 31:30SPEAKER_1: what the outcome is, we just want to know the truth is what this family is saying.
- 31:35SPEAKER_1: And I think it is important because in a lot of cases,
- 31:39SPEAKER_1: your initial report is kind of what people are left with, if you will.
- 31:44SPEAKER_1: And in this particular case,
- 31:45SPEAKER_1: initial reports were that,
- 31:47SPEAKER_1: okay, Dalys fired, he struck, you know, a couple of officers.
- 31:52SPEAKER_1: And then, you know, it was even communicated from IMPD with community members.
- 31:58SPEAKER_1: Well, we're not sure who fired it, but we do believe that it came from his weapon.
- 32:06SPEAKER_1: And I think that is even a cause for concern because we're saying,
- 32:11SPEAKER_1: well, it may have come from his weapon.
- 32:15SPEAKER_1: However, we're not sure that he actually is the one that fired it.
- 32:21SPEAKER_1: That's kind of what my understanding is.
- 32:23SPEAKER_1: Is that kind of the family's understanding as well?
- 32:28SPEAKER_3: I think that based on what IMPD has shared,
- 32:34SPEAKER_3: that is the facts that they shared as of now.
- 32:39SPEAKER_3: And so again, we're not clear as to what has transpired.
- 32:45SPEAKER_3: And that's why we need them to be transparent.
- 32:48SPEAKER_3: And I think that learning about one officer shooting another officer also raises
- 32:56SPEAKER_3: a lot of concerns.
- 32:59SPEAKER_3: And now seeking transparency -- and that being postponed and delayed -- raises major concerns.
- 33:10SPEAKER_3: And so we're really calling on IMPD to do the right thing.
- 33:17SPEAKER_3: To show the body cam footage and so that the family can move forward.
- 33:22SPEAKER_3: And we're going to continue to stand by that.
- 33:26SPEAKER_3: And we're going to continue to advocate and make noise and to apply public pressure
- 33:33SPEAKER_3: with our community members and leaders to come alongside us to demand IMPD
- 33:41SPEAKER_3: to release that body cam footage.
- 33:44SPEAKER_3: And we're asking that, and we're telling IMPD that we need that by this Friday.
- 33:52SPEAKER_3: And so until we're clear and have seen the video about the accounts of the events,
- 34:00SPEAKER_3: we really cannot speak to any details of the case because we simply don't know.
- 34:08SPEAKER_1: So you just mentioned that there has been a request that you get something
- 34:12SPEAKER_1: by this coming Friday.
- 34:13SPEAKER_1: Has there been any response to that request?
- 34:18SPEAKER_3: There has not been a response to it as of yet.
- 34:21SPEAKER_1: Okay.
- 34:23SPEAKER_1: Well, that's where we're at.
- 34:24SPEAKER_1: Once again,
- 34:25SPEAKER_1: we want to support this family of Dalys Jett whose life has been shortened due
- 34:34SPEAKER_1: to this incident,
- 34:36SPEAKER_1: while we certainly don't want to come to any conclusions as to what happened,
- 34:43SPEAKER_1: we do want to have some answers to what happened.
- 34:47SPEAKER_1: And that's more importantly for the family that is preparing for the celebration
- 34:54SPEAKER_1: of life, once again, for Brother Dalys.
- 34:56SPEAKER_1: It's going to be this coming weekend.
- 34:58SPEAKER_1: And I'm going to ask you,
- 34:59SPEAKER_1: if you would, go ahead and share that information before we let you go, Pastor.
- 35:05SPEAKER_3: Yeah, so again,
- 35:07SPEAKER_3: on Friday,
- 35:08SPEAKER_3: August the 7th,
- 35:11SPEAKER_3: at the Hovey Street Church of Christ,
- 35:15SPEAKER_3: we will have the press conference at 5 p.m.,
- 35:21SPEAKER_3: and we'll also have the prayer vigil,
- 35:24SPEAKER_3: candle vigil at 6 p.m.
- 35:26SPEAKER_3: where the community can come out and share their memories of Dalys and
- 35:29SPEAKER_3: then also share their concerns about this body cam footage not being released.
- 35:34SPEAKER_3: And then we will have the celebration of life
- 35:38SPEAKER_3: on Saturday,
- 35:39SPEAKER_3: August the 8th,
- 35:40SPEAKER_3: with the viewing being from 9 a.m.
- 35:42SPEAKER_3: to 12 p.m. and the celebration of life being at 12 p.m. at New Direction Church,
- 35:49SPEAKER_3: Triumph Center, 5330 East 38th Street here in Indianapolis, Indiana.
- 35:56SPEAKER_1: Well, we certainly want to continue to pray for this family, touch and agree with this family.
- 36:03SPEAKER_1: We're thankful to hear that the officers are at least going to be able to recover,
- 36:09SPEAKER_1: but we still have a family that is looking for answers,
- 36:12SPEAKER_1: and we want to make sure that they're getting answers and they're getting truth.
- 36:17SPEAKER_1: So Pastor Scruggs,
- 36:18SPEAKER_1: thank you for all that you're doing,
- 36:22SPEAKER_1: praying for you and your family as you're part of the family.
- 36:26SPEAKER_1: And anything you need from us, know that we'll continue to be there to help however we can.
- 36:36SPEAKER_3: If anything that can be done in the immediate,
- 36:40SPEAKER_3: it would be that you all who are listening,
- 36:43SPEAKER_3: if you have a social media platform,
- 36:47that you would go on your social media platform and that you would just stand with
- 36:51the family and say,
- 36:52SPEAKER_3: IMPD, release the body cam footage of the killing of Dalys Jett.
- 37:00SPEAKER_3: If you can stand with us and just press IMPD to do that,
- 37:07SPEAKER_3: and then also coming out this weekend to the celebration of life
- 37:12SPEAKER_3: to support this family and to stand with this family,
- 37:16SPEAKER_3: that would mean more than the world to us.
- 37:20SPEAKER_1: Well, we'll certainly do that.
- 37:22SPEAKER_1: God bless you, Pastor.
- 37:23SPEAKER_1: Thank you.
- 37:24SPEAKER_1: We'll continue to pray for you and your family.
- 37:27SPEAKER_1: Thanks for joining us on tonight.
- 37:29SPEAKER_1: And then we'll stand in solidarity with you
- 37:33SPEAKER_1: and the Jett family.
- 37:35SPEAKER_1: All right.
- 37:35SPEAKER_1: We got to go to our last commercial break of the hour.
- 37:38SPEAKER_1: When we come back, we'll talk some other issues.
- 37:42SPEAKER_1: We hope you can be part of the conversation.
- 37:44SPEAKER_1: You can do that by calling into the radio station.
- 37:47SPEAKER_1: That phone number is 317-480-1310.
- 37:48SPEAKER_1: Once again, 317-480-1310.
- 37:49SPEAKER_1: We're going to go to our commercial.
- 37:56SPEAKER_1: And then we'll catch you on the other side of our commercial break.
- 38:00SPEAKER_1: Once again, call in 317-480-1310.
- 38:03SPEAKER_1: You're listening to the Concerned Clergy Radio Show
- 38:05SPEAKER_1: on Praise AM 1310, 95.1 FM, Indy's Inspiration Station.
- 38:16SPEAKER_1: Welcome back to the Concerned Clergy Radio Show.
- 38:20SPEAKER_1: I'm Rev.
- 38:20SPEAKER_1: Tony Alexander.
- 38:21SPEAKER_1: I'm glad to be with you on this evening.
- 38:25SPEAKER_1: If you would like to be part of the conversation,
- 38:27SPEAKER_1: you can call into the radio station, 317-480-1310.
- 38:31SPEAKER_1: Once again, 317-480-1310.
- 38:36SPEAKER_1: We thank our previous guest that joined us on tonight,
- 38:39SPEAKER_1: Pastor Davanta Scruggs,
- 38:40SPEAKER_1: and we want to continue to pray for the Jett family as they are preparing for
- 38:46SPEAKER_1: a celebration of life for loss of a loved one, Dalys Jett.
- 38:50SPEAKER_1: We want to also be in prayer that they do get the answers that they are seeking.
- 38:56SPEAKER_1: And as we go forward on tonight, a couple of things, we're just going to open up the lines.
- 39:00SPEAKER_1: If you want to be part of the conversation,
- 39:02SPEAKER_1: you have anything you want to add,
- 39:05SPEAKER_1: feel free to call in 317-480-1310 or even comment on our Facebook page.
- 39:09SPEAKER_1: But a couple of things I do want to at least try to hit
- 39:13SPEAKER_1: with our remaining moments is last week, we had the hearings with Fauci.
- 39:23SPEAKER_1: Who was there, Dr. Fauci, who was there during COVID-19.
- 39:29SPEAKER_1: And he was the one that kind of helped lead the nation,
- 39:33SPEAKER_1: if you will, as far as an understanding of where the virus was coming from.
- 39:38SPEAKER_1: Here's what some of the side effects were.
- 39:40SPEAKER_1: Here's what some of the issues were.
- 39:43SPEAKER_1: And they had hearings for Dr. Fauci on last week in which he pleaded the fifth.
- 39:49SPEAKER_1: And a lot of folks, you know, took issue with that because he pleaded the fifth.
- 39:54SPEAKER_1: And the reason he pleaded the fifth was,
- 39:56SPEAKER_1: you know, one,
- 39:57SPEAKER_1: because he was told,
- 39:58SPEAKER_1: well, hey, we want you to come in and talk because we want to send you to jail.
- 40:04SPEAKER_1: They say you need to go to prison.
- 40:06SPEAKER_1: So if he knows, well,
- 40:07SPEAKER_1: they're looking to put me in jail for whatever I say,
- 40:12SPEAKER_1: then I have a right to plead the fifth because of
- 40:16SPEAKER_1: the fact you've already said you're trying to arrest me for whatever.
- 40:22SPEAKER_1: Now, here's the deal.
- 40:24SPEAKER_1: Really, the main thing about this whole Dr.
- 40:27SPEAKER_1: Fauci thing is the fact that a lot of you Trump supporters are now trying
- 40:33SPEAKER_1: to blame Dr. Fauci for what happened with COVID-19.
- 40:39SPEAKER_1: Let's do a rewind.
- 40:41SPEAKER_1: Dr. Fauci was certainly out there.
- 40:43SPEAKER_1: He was providing scientific facts and evidence,
- 40:46SPEAKER_1: and he was sharing with a lot of the news stations what he thought
- 40:55SPEAKER_1: the scientific backing was.
- 40:59SPEAKER_1: Let's also remember, though,
- 41:02SPEAKER_1: that it was President Trump at that time who took the ownership for bringing out
- 41:10SPEAKER_1: the vaccine, which a lot of folks are upset with Dr. Fauci about.
- 41:18SPEAKER_1: Trump was the one that's saying,
- 41:19SPEAKER_1: you know,
- 41:20SPEAKER_1: he was the one in charge of warp speed in which they got the vaccine rolled out.
- 41:26SPEAKER_1: You forget.
- 41:28SPEAKER_1: He came on national TV several times and took credit for making sure we had a vaccine.
- 41:37SPEAKER_1: So I'm trying to understand.
- 41:39SPEAKER_1: You want to bring Fauci in and say we want to blame him for the vaccine and for
- 41:46SPEAKER_1: the response to COVID-19.
- 41:50SPEAKER_1: But yet you've got an individual who is the president that says, hey, I take all responsibility.
- 41:57SPEAKER_1: Now, he didn't say responsibility.
- 41:58SPEAKER_1: He said credit.
- 42:00SPEAKER_1: I take all credit for this.
- 42:02SPEAKER_1: I take all credit for how we respond.
- 42:04SPEAKER_1: I take credit for saying we're going to open up the country by Easter.
- 42:10SPEAKER_1: Remember that?
- 42:12SPEAKER_1: He says, I take credit for having the vaccine rolled out.
- 42:16SPEAKER_1: He told you he took credit.
- 42:20SPEAKER_1: He was bold with it.
- 42:22SPEAKER_1: But you're not questioning him.
- 42:26SPEAKER_1: You're questioning Dr. Fauci.
- 42:31SPEAKER_1: Now, wait a minute.
- 42:32SPEAKER_1: You had somebody who took ownership of it.
- 42:37SPEAKER_1: You had somebody that was talking about, you know, all these different medications.
- 42:43SPEAKER_1: Talking about bleach.
- 42:44SPEAKER_1: Dr. Fauci wasn't talking about bleach.
- 42:50SPEAKER_1: You had somebody that was talking about, you know, taking some horse pills.
- 42:55SPEAKER_1: Dr. Fauci wasn't talking about horse pills.
- 42:58SPEAKER_1: You see, it's interesting, you know, they questioned Fauci.
- 43:01SPEAKER_1: He pleaded the fifth, and he did it because he had to protect himself.
- 43:05SPEAKER_1: They asked him questions like, what's the color of your suit?
- 43:08SPEAKER_1: What's the color of your shoes?
- 43:09SPEAKER_1: You know, all this kind of stuff.
- 43:11SPEAKER_1: If he said blue, they may say turquoise, and then they're trying to find him in contempt.
- 43:17SPEAKER_1: Or say he lied before Congress.
- 43:19SPEAKER_1: That's how petty they were.
- 43:21SPEAKER_1: That's how petty they are.
- 43:25SPEAKER_1: So it was smart of him to plead the fifth.
- 43:32SPEAKER_1: What he did not do -- all he did is say, hey, I'm going to be respectful to this committee.
- 43:41SPEAKER_1: I'm going to come in and I'm going to be respectful with my answers as I plead the fifth.
- 43:50SPEAKER_1: Now, it's very interesting.
- 43:51SPEAKER_1: You have all these Republican lawmakers that are saying how terrible it was
- 43:56SPEAKER_1: that he did and how now he really needs to be charged
- 44:00SPEAKER_1: and how he really treated those that were there to question him
- 44:12SPEAKER_1: by not answering their questions.
- 44:15SPEAKER_1: But let's be serious.
- 44:18SPEAKER_1: Dr. Fauci did not come in like a lot of these cabinet members of the Trump administration.
- 44:27SPEAKER_1: Think about the last couple of administrations.
- 44:29SPEAKER_1: You had a lot of folks that were coming in.
- 44:31SPEAKER_1: They wouldn't answer questions.
- 44:34SPEAKER_1: What we've seen all year long this year,
- 44:38SPEAKER_1: Trump officials,
- 44:39SPEAKER_1: you know,
- 44:39SPEAKER_1: from this administration,
- 44:41SPEAKER_1: they come in and they go at it with the Democrats that are asking valid questions.
- 44:50SPEAKER_1: They come in with notebooks attacking the ones that are trying to get down
- 45:00SPEAKER_1: and understand the business of the government.
- 45:05SPEAKER_1: They got notebooks attacking them.
- 45:09SPEAKER_1: They got notebooks.
- 45:11SPEAKER_1: Yes, remember Pam Bondi?
- 45:14SPEAKER_1: Dr. Fauci didn't come in with no book,
- 45:16SPEAKER_1: you know, in hand, ready to attack Republican lawmakers who asked him questions.
- 45:22SPEAKER_1: He just said, you know what?
- 45:25SPEAKER_1: Here's what you're trying to do to me, and I ain't going to let you do it.
- 45:30SPEAKER_1: I'm going to plead the fifth.
- 45:33SPEAKER_1: He said, I'm going to respect you.
- 45:37SPEAKER_1: Think about all, you know, when we look at some of the hearings we've seen throughout the year.
- 45:44SPEAKER_1: Many folks,
- 45:46SPEAKER_1: we can count,
- 45:47SPEAKER_1: you know, hands, toes,
- 45:49SPEAKER_1: you name it,
- 45:51SPEAKER_1: have come in and they've gone at it with
- 45:57SPEAKER_1: some of the Democrat lawmakers
- 45:58SPEAKER_1: who are asking genuinely good questions.
- 46:07SPEAKER_1: But you won't attack a doctor who, let's remember,
- 46:14SPEAKER_1: all he did was share the information.
- 46:17SPEAKER_1: He didn't make the decisions.
- 46:22SPEAKER_1: Because your president, President Trump, he was clear to say, I make the decisions.
- 46:28SPEAKER_1: Remember,
- 46:29SPEAKER_1: he was coming on every single day,
- 46:32SPEAKER_1: every single day in the middle of the day during COVID-19.
- 46:36SPEAKER_1: He was coming on doing a press conference.
- 46:39SPEAKER_1: Why did he do that?
- 46:41SPEAKER_1: Because he wanted to portray I've got it under control.
- 46:47SPEAKER_1: Y'all forget that.
- 46:50SPEAKER_1: He was coming on every single day.
- 46:53SPEAKER_1: Saying, here's what we're doing.
- 46:57SPEAKER_1: Matter of fact, he was saying, here's what I'm doing.
- 47:03SPEAKER_1: I've directed my administration to do X, Y, Z.
- 47:07SPEAKER_1: How many times have we heard that?
- 47:12SPEAKER_1: Well, sir, here's what they're telling you.
- 47:15SPEAKER_1: How many times have we heard that?
- 47:20SPEAKER_1: But you want to point the finger at a Dr. Fauci,
- 47:25SPEAKER_1: who all he did was provide the information,
- 47:31SPEAKER_1: the facts, and presented them to the people.
- 47:37SPEAKER_1: It was that simple.
- 47:42SPEAKER_1: And we know that doesn't happen in this administration where they want to present the facts.
- 47:46SPEAKER_1: We've seen ICE shootings in which before there's even the first minute of
- 47:52SPEAKER_1: an investigation, they'll come out and they'll blame the victims of the shootings.
- 47:57SPEAKER_1: We've seen that in Minnesota.
- 47:59SPEAKER_1: We've seen that in other places.
- 48:03SPEAKER_1: We've seen where there was just a cyber attack on water utilities.
- 48:11SPEAKER_1: Matter of fact, Minnesota was part of that.
- 48:17SPEAKER_1: It was known.
- 48:20SPEAKER_1: Check this out.
- 48:21SPEAKER_1: The federal government, their own cybersecurity,
- 48:24SPEAKER_1: said it came from Iran.
- 48:27SPEAKER_1: Trump said, no, it came from Minnesota.
- 48:32SPEAKER_1: Rather than blame Iran,
- 48:34SPEAKER_1: who is the actual initiator of the attack,
- 48:38SPEAKER_1: the real initiator of the attack, he doesn't want to do that.
- 48:43SPEAKER_1: He wants to point to his political enemies, somebody who doesn't agree with him.
- 48:48SPEAKER_1: Why?
- 48:52SPEAKER_1: But you want to go after Dr. Fauci.
- 48:53SPEAKER_1: Trying to figure out, don't you remember who took all the credit for the vaccine?
- 49:02SPEAKER_1: You want to blame Fauci on the vaccine.
- 49:07SPEAKER_1: Go back.
- 49:09SPEAKER_1: And you can Google all of the press conferences.
- 49:14SPEAKER_1: Day after day after day after day after day.
- 49:19SPEAKER_1: Every single day of the week.
- 49:22SPEAKER_1: Weeks on end.
- 49:24SPEAKER_1: Trump saying he's got it under control.
- 49:30SPEAKER_1: Fauci came in.
- 49:31SPEAKER_1: He answered questions.
- 49:34SPEAKER_1: But he didn't say,
- 49:35SPEAKER_1: I'm going to call a press conference because I'm wanting you to hear from me.
- 49:43SPEAKER_1: That's what he did.
- 49:49SPEAKER_1: And also,
- 49:51SPEAKER_1: this past weekend,
- 49:52SPEAKER_1: we had Greg Bovino,
- 49:55SPEAKER_1: who came into Indiana.
- 50:00SPEAKER_1: When we talked about this last week,
- 50:02SPEAKER_1: you know,
- 50:02SPEAKER_1: which we announced that he was coming into Indiana,
- 50:04SPEAKER_1: we didn't know where he was going to be appearing at.
- 50:08SPEAKER_1: But we had this great flyer saying Greg Bovino's coming into Indiana and he's going
- 50:13SPEAKER_1: to have this mass deportation rally.
- 50:19SPEAKER_1: What's that even mean?
- 50:21SPEAKER_1: What's a mass deportation rally up in Fishers?
- 50:27SPEAKER_1: So we talked about that last Wednesday and that rally was scheduled for this past Saturday.
- 50:33SPEAKER_1: And then as Saturday came, in the time for that rally, folks
- 50:39SPEAKER_1: that thought they had tickets or were planning to go
- 50:43SPEAKER_1: were given a runaround and it was moved from this library to this spot to that spot.
- 50:52SPEAKER_1: I'm not sure that we even really know where it was finally held.
- 50:56SPEAKER_1: But we do have pictures.
- 50:59SPEAKER_1: Folks are saying that it was held in Greenfield.
- 51:04SPEAKER_1: At a muddy field.
- 51:06SPEAKER_1: Under a tent.
- 51:10SPEAKER_1: $50 or $500 to attend.
- 51:13SPEAKER_1: Secret meeting.
- 51:16SPEAKER_1: With Greg Bovino.
- 51:19SPEAKER_1: And I want to ask y'all.
- 51:22SPEAKER_1: Why Greg Bovino?
- 51:26SPEAKER_1: Why would he even be a draw?
- 51:29SPEAKER_1: He's not even head of ICE anymore.
- 51:32SPEAKER_1: Or Department of Homeland Security, whatever his position was.
- 51:37SPEAKER_1: They got rid of him.
- 51:40SPEAKER_1: Pushed him out to California.
- 51:42SPEAKER_1: Y'all want to bring him in Indiana and say he's going to be a draw?
- 51:45SPEAKER_1: And we're going to pay $50 to $500.
- 51:52SPEAKER_1: And the organizers, I think, I don't know, Heritage, somebody.
- 51:59SPEAKER_1: What are they getting out of it?
- 52:02SPEAKER_1: Why are they even organizing?
- 52:04SPEAKER_1: And once again, why Greg Bovino?
- 52:09SPEAKER_1: He really doesn't even have a position anymore.
- 52:11SPEAKER_1: He can't do anything.
- 52:14SPEAKER_1: And I want to know, what'd you guys get for $50?
- 52:17SPEAKER_1: What'd you get for $500?
- 52:18SPEAKER_1: What'd you get for $250?
- 52:26SPEAKER_1: It's interesting that as this event was recapped,
- 52:31SPEAKER_1: that you even had State Representative Jim Lucas,
- 52:35SPEAKER_1: who was scheduled to speak, ended up not speaking.
- 52:42SPEAKER_1: He pretty much said this event was a sham.
- 52:46SPEAKER_1: Said his wife even twisted her ankle going through the mud to get there.
- 52:55SPEAKER_1: That's where we're going to end our program on tonight.
- 52:59SPEAKER_1: And you folks are literally playing
- 53:04SPEAKER_1: in the mud just to get people that you don't like.
- 53:11SPEAKER_1: Well, that's the end of our conversation on tonight.
- 53:14SPEAKER_1: We invite you to come and join us next week on the Concerned Clergy program.
- 53:17SPEAKER_1: That'll be next Wednesday at 7 p.m.
- 53:21SPEAKER_1: But don't forget.
- 53:22SPEAKER_1: If you missed this program in its entirety, you can catch it tomorrow.
- 53:27SPEAKER_1: You can catch our Substack that's on the Progressive Indiana Network,
- 53:31SPEAKER_1: and that'll be our replay tomorrow.
- 53:35SPEAKER_1: Once again,
- 53:36SPEAKER_1: the Substack for the Concerned Clergy Radio Show on the Progressive Indiana Network.
- 53:41SPEAKER_1: Thanks, everyone.
- 53:41SPEAKER_1: Have a great evening.
- 53:43SPEAKER_1: We'll see you all next week.
- 53:48SPEAKER_0: You've been listening to the weekly town hall meeting brought to you by the Concerned Clergy.
