  city. I'm Carol. It's Thursday, October 29th,
• 0:17
2026. Let's get you caught up. We begin in Elk
• 0:21
Grove where two students were stabbed Wednesday
• 0:22
afternoon at Pleasant Grove High School. Elk
• 0:25
Grove police officers responded to the campus
• 0:27
along with Sacramento County Sheriff's deputies
• 0:30
after reports of the stabbing. Two victims were
• 0:33
transported to a local hospital. Police say one
• 0:35
of them suffered life -threatening injuries.
• 0:38
Initially, officers reported that one person
• 0:40
had been detained. Police later updated that
• 0:43
information saying that two suspects were detained
• 0:45
and investigators believe one of those suspects
• 0:48
stabbed both of the victims. Schools in the areas
• 0:52
were placed on lockdown while officers investigated
• 0:55
and secured the scene. Those lockdowns were lifted
• 0:58
about 5 p .m. Police have not released additional
• 1:01
information about the victims or what may have
• 1:03
led up to that stabbing. Turning to your forecast
• 1:07

Drivers who use the Freeport Bridge will need
• 2:12
to plan ahead throughout November. Sacramento
• 2:15
County Department of Transportation will conduct
• 2:17
a full weekday closure of the bridge beginning
• 2:19
Monday, November 2nd. The Freeport Bridge connects
• 2:22
Highway 60 to Sacramento County with South River
• 2:26
Road in Yolo County. DOT says the bridge needs
• 2:30
repair work and the closures will run Monday
• 2:33
through Friday from 6 in the morning until 6
• 2:36
in the evening through November 30th. The good
• 2:40
news, the bridge will reopen each evening and
• 2:42
remain open on Saturday and Sundays. During weekday
• 2:46
closures, drivers will be detoured south to the
• 2:50
Paintersville Bridge. Drivers on the Sacramento
• 2:53
side can use River Road and Highway 60, while
• 2:57
motorists on the Yolo side can follow South River
• 3:00
Road toward the detour. Sacramento County says
• 3:03
the Freeport Bridge deck repair project will
• 3:05
cost... $300 ,000 and is being funded through
• 3:09
the County Road Fund. If that bridge is part
• 3:13
of your regular commute, give yourself some extra
• 3:15
time in November. You're tuned into The Sacramento
