- 1:11Sean McAllister: Welcome everyone to episode 232 of Vegas Revealed.
- 1:15Sean McAllister: Sean McAllister here along with Dana Roselli.
- 1:19Sean McAllister: And you know, it's funny, Dana, one of the most popular things that uh people respond and ask questions about is when a new fast food chain comes to town.
- 1:29Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 1:30Dayna Roselli: It's like, you know, I'd like to think I have an impact in the world, but it's always like the one tweet that I never thought would go viral goes like crazy.
- 1:40Sean McAllister: Well, you are making an impact.
- 1:41Sean McAllister: Clearly, people want to know about this stuff.
- 1:44Sean McAllister: You put the information out and they're craving it, just like the food that they're hearing about.
- 1:48Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 1:49Dayna Roselli: Yeah, you know, Twitter, X, whatever always has kind of like a different kind of audience.
- 1:53Dayna Roselli: Like things go into a world of response and retweets and all that kind of thing.
- 2:00Dayna Roselli: Like something that you mentioned there just goes crazy.
- 2:04Dayna Roselli: But like if you were to do it anywhere else, it wouldn't.
- 2:06Dayna Roselli: But anyway, yes, I tweeted that we are getting a Bojangles.
- 2:09Dayna Roselli: And apparently it's a big deal.
- 2:12Sean McAllister: I remember Bojangles when when we used to drive from Western New York as a kid, we would drive down to Florida to see my parents.
- 2:22Sean McAllister: We'd stay down there, or my grandparents.
- 2:25Sean McAllister: Um, did I say parents or grandparents?
- 2:27Dayna Roselli: Grandparents.
- 2:28Sean McAllister: Grandparents.
- 2:29Sean McAllister: Um, and we would pass all these bojangles, but I've we never stopped and ate at one.
- 2:35Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 2:35Dayna Roselli: I didn't know anything about it, but I agree.
- 2:37Dayna Roselli: I think on my some of my trips down to Myrtle Beach and stuff, we passed Bojangles.
- 2:41Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 2:41Dayna Roselli: Well, it's a thing, and people are very excited that Bojangles is coming to Las Vegas, and they were like, where's it gonna be located?
- 2:48Dayna Roselli: And they just had a groundbreaking, and it's gonna be on the southeast corner of Blue Diamond and Rainbow in Las Vegas.
- 2:54Dayna Roselli: That's the very first one.
- 2:56Dayna Roselli: And then there's another one planned.
- 2:58Dayna Roselli: But get this there's actually 20 new Bojangle restaurants planned to come to Las Vegas.
- 3:05Dayna Roselli: It's part of this big plan.
- 3:07Dayna Roselli: And they're also gonna be putting them within travel centers.
- 3:11SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 3:12Dayna Roselli: So it's like a whole thing.
- 3:13Dayna Roselli: Um, but it said the groundbreaking that they just had marked the first and a multi-unit development agreement to bring 20 new Bojangles restaurants to Las Vegas, as well as a development of restaurants within 10 travel centers of America franchise locations across Western markets.
- 3:30Sean McAllister: Wow.
- 3:30Sean McAllister: And this is the first location that's west of Texas.
- 3:34Sean McAllister: So it's a big deal to have Bojangles expanding out here.
- 3:38Sean McAllister: And man, they are really going all in on Las Vegas, uh yeah, they really are.
- 3:44Dayna Roselli: It's expected to open the first one December of this year, so that's cool.
- 3:48Dayna Roselli: And then where did I say it was uh it was Charlotte where they originated?
- 3:52Dayna Roselli: Yeah, Charlotte, North Carolina.
- 3:54Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 3:55Dayna Roselli: Um, so you and I just went to the Instagram page to look around because I was like, well, people keep responding to this Bo Jangles post.
- 4:02Sean McAllister: And it's entertaining.
- 4:03Sean McAllister: I've gotta say, they're their videos that they put up on Instagram, like the audio has nothing to do with the video.
- 4:10Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 4:11Dayna Roselli: Yeah, they're really creative, right?
- 4:12Sean McAllister: It's like some random audio clip of somebody talking.
- 4:15Sean McAllister: I know.
- 4:16Sean McAllister: And you have like frost icing getting drizzled over a biscuit.
- 4:21Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 4:22Dayna Roselli: It's very like it's weird, but it like it makes you laugh.
- 4:25Dayna Roselli: It does.
- 4:25Dayna Roselli: And you can't stop watching.
- 4:27Dayna Roselli: But what was the one thing that I brought up that everyone keeps messaging me about?
- 4:31Sean McAllister: Oh bow biscuit or the bow berry biscuit.
- 4:34Sean McAllister: Bow berry biscuit.
- 4:35Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 4:35Dayna Roselli: So it looks like a blueberry or berry biscuit.
- 4:39Dayna Roselli: And it looks like they use that for like everything, even on like a sausage biscuit.
- 4:43Sean McAllister: Right.
- 4:44Dayna Roselli: Like they roll out different kinds of things.
- 4:46Dayna Roselli: They have like a mac and cheese, and then they say, like, oh, we're unveiling the buffalo mac and cheese this month or whatever.
- 4:52Dayna Roselli: Um, they have um these like it's almost like a chicken, I don't know, finger.
- 4:58Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 4:59Dayna Roselli: But in like a hot dog bun with pickles and their sauce over it, Bojangle sauce.
- 5:05Sean McAllister: The bird dog.
- 5:06Dayna Roselli: The bird dog, that was it.
- 5:09Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 5:09Dayna Roselli: So I don't know.
- 5:10Dayna Roselli: I'm excited to try it.
- 5:11Dayna Roselli: People love their fast food restaurants and they love when they grew up on something.
- 5:15Dayna Roselli: We have so many people in Las Vegas that moved here from all over the country.
- 5:19Dayna Roselli: So it makes sense that you know that's their their go-to.
- 5:22Dayna Roselli: So Bojangles coming to Las Vegas and then uh lots of other ones rolling out soon.
- 5:28Sean McAllister: Well, and it's funny, there was similar response when it was announced that Whataburger was going to be opening up a spot right there on Las Vegas Boulevard.
- 5:38Sean McAllister: And that place has been, I mean, that's been busy ever since they opened.
- 5:42Sean McAllister: But it is interesting how these chain restaurants have such a following and people go crazy for them.
- 5:50Sean McAllister: They do, they have favorites and I guess it would be the same thing if a friendlies opened up out here.
- 5:57Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 5:58Dayna Roselli: I mean, that's not necessarily fast food, but it's something that we know and love.
- 6:02Sean McAllister: And the ice cream, the friendlies ice cream is just great.
- 6:05Dayna Roselli: Yeah, or if like they open, I don't know.
- 6:06Dayna Roselli: What did we have?
- 6:07Dayna Roselli: Well, I mean, we had like that's the thing.
- 6:09Dayna Roselli: I don't know if we had any anything that we had in the East Coast of upstate New York, I feel like is out here.
- 6:16Dayna Roselli: It may be limited.
- 6:17Sean McAllister: Right.
- 6:18Dayna Roselli: Like there, like Wendy's was popular where we were.
- 6:20Sean McAllister: Wendy's, Taco Bell, yeah, McDonald's.
- 6:23Dayna Roselli: Yeah, just kind of the regular stuff.
- 6:25Dayna Roselli: So we didn't kind of have our thing.
- 6:26Sean McAllister: We didn't have a specialty thing.
- 6:28Sean McAllister: We had the garbage plate, but that wasn't like fast food.
- 6:32Dayna Roselli: No, that's just like unique to Rochester, New York.
- 6:34Dayna Roselli: So hey, if you're into, I know people love uh places to go for breakfast.
- 6:39Dayna Roselli: And the Broken Yoke Cafe Cafe is opening another location.
- 6:44Dayna Roselli: And let's see, when does this podcast roll out?
- 6:47Dayna Roselli: It should be opening, okay, Monday, August 12th.
- 6:50Dayna Roselli: So it'll be opening soon in downtown Las Vegas.
- 6:53Dayna Roselli: And this location is at 201 South Las Vegas Boulevard, right there at the corner of Las Vegas Boulevard in Carson.
- 6:58Dayna Roselli: But if you love a good breakfast spot, check out the Broken Yoke Cafe.
- 7:02Dayna Roselli: And if you're in the downtown area, that's a good spot, especially if you're staying downtown in the Fremont area.
- 7:09Sean McAllister: And let me tell you, if you are a Vegas visitor, um, people who live here will know this, but if you're a Vegas visitor and you go off the strip just a little bit even to one of the to a breakfast place like Broken Yoke, I mean that you find them in strip malls, plazas, that kind of thing.
- 7:28Sean McAllister: And there is always a line of people waiting outside to get in.
- 7:34Sean McAllister: It almost doesn't matter what breakfast place it is, but I've never seen anything like that until I moved out here to Las Vegas.
- 7:42Dayna Roselli: Interesting.
- 7:42Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 7:43Dayna Roselli: People love their breakfast.
- 7:45Dayna Roselli: And I think like in Vegas, like you get up and then people are all in different coming from different time zones.
- 7:49Dayna Roselli: So sometimes they're like up early and ready to go.
- 7:51Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 7:52Dayna Roselli: Ready to like walk the strip and hit the casinos.
- 7:55Dayna Roselli: And so they get their breakfast in early and they figure, oh, we can eat maybe a little cheaper in the morning, save our, you know, big dinner for later.
- 8:04Sean McAllister: Eat big.
- 8:05Dayna Roselli: Yep.
- 8:06Sean McAllister: Skip lunch and then have a nice dinner.
- 8:09Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 8:09Dayna Roselli: And day drink.
- 8:11Dayna Roselli: Day drink.
- 8:12Sean McAllister: Day drink.
- 8:12Sean McAllister: Let the pancakes sop up all your booze.
- 8:15Dayna Roselli: Oh man.
- 8:16Dayna Roselli: Well, I know people love their poker rooms too.
- 8:18Dayna Roselli: I always see a lot of chatter on social media about poker rooms.
- 8:23Dayna Roselli: Does this place have a poker room?
- 8:24Dayna Roselli: This and that.
- 8:25Dayna Roselli: And the Venetian is going to celebrate the opening of its expanded poker room in an all-new location.
- 8:32Dayna Roselli: It's on level two of the Grand Canal shops.
- 8:36Dayna Roselli: And, you know, why are poker rooms such a thing?
- 8:39Dayna Roselli: People love poker rooms.
- 8:40Dayna Roselli: I mean, is it because when you go to a casino that doesn't have just a poker room, then you're just playing amongst people and you want to play in a sp I I don't get it.
- 8:51Sean McAllister: Well, I I think what it is, I I mean, I don't fully uh understand it either, but I mean poker tables are uh popular.
- 8:59Sean McAllister: And on a traditional gaming floor, you have limited space for table games.
- 9:04Dayna Roselli: Oh, and so there's more than a game.
- 9:05Sean McAllister: And it's a it's a more it's a variety of different types of table games on the casino floor.
- 9:11Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 9:11Sean McAllister: When you open up a poker room, I mean, uh that's where you can do you know, I assume they're probably gonna start doing some big poker tournaments over there too, if they have all of the space for these uh poker tables.
- 9:26Dayna Roselli: Um yeah, because it is saying the poker room's gonna now feature 50 table games spread across 14,000 square feet of space, and this will make it the largest room on the strip.
- 9:35Sean McAllister: Yeah, so I wouldn't be surprised if they start doing some big tournaments over there at the Venetian.
- 9:41Dayna Roselli: That's cool.
- 9:42Dayna Roselli: That's cool.
- 9:42Dayna Roselli: Well, good for the Venetian.
- 9:43Dayna Roselli: We just our last podcast talked about how we said it's their 25th anniversary, and they are going to continue to invest in that property, reinvest and expand and do new things.
- 9:54Dayna Roselli: And she mentioned the poker room.
- 9:55Dayna Roselli: So there you have it.
- 9:57Dayna Roselli: Um, enjoy if you come to Las Vegas, go check out the Venetian poker room.
- 10:01Sean McAllister: And right next to the Venetian, attached to it, as a matter of fact, is the Sphere.
- 10:06Sean McAllister: And the New Year's Eve show that was announced over at Sphere uh is Anima.
- 10:13Sean McAllister: And this is a big EDM show, the first EDM artist to perform inside of the sphere, and they have just been adding more and more shows for that New Year's Eve weekend.
- 10:26Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 10:27Dayna Roselli: You and I mentioned last week, like, hey, there's uh like three shows now.
- 10:32Dayna Roselli: There were like they announced one to begin with, and then we said if there are more, that's possible, and they just keep announcing more and more.
- 10:40Dayna Roselli: So now we've got December 27th, 28th, 29th, 30th, 31st, New Year's Eve, and then New Year's Day, January 1.
- 10:48Sean McAllister: I mean, good for them.
- 10:50Sean McAllister: I really do think this is going to be uh a popular show that I mean could end up coming back periodically throughout the year.
- 11:00Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 11:01Sean McAllister: It would be a huge success.
- 11:03Dayna Roselli: And I don't know if they'll announce more.
- 11:04Dayna Roselli: I mean, that seems like a lot because it's really around the whole New Year's Eve.
- 11:08Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 11:09Dayna Roselli: But I don't know.
- 11:10Dayna Roselli: I mean, if if they sell out again, maybe they'll go January too.
- 11:14Dayna Roselli: Because I don't even know.
- 11:14Dayna Roselli: Let's see, and I always feel like it depends on if um New Year's Eve, like what day it lands on, you know?
- 11:20Dayna Roselli: Like this year.
- 11:21Dayna Roselli: So we've got New Year's Eve is on a Tuesday.
- 11:24Dayna Roselli: Oh okay.
- 11:25Dayna Roselli: So then we've got, let's see, 27th is a Friday, 28th, Saturday, perfect, 29th, Sunday, 30th, Monday, 31st is New Year's Eve, January 1.
- 11:35Dayna Roselli: Yeah, so it might be weird to have a Tuesday night show on the second, but maybe not.
- 11:39Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 11:39Dayna Roselli: It depends if everyone's like back to work or taking the week or whatever.
- 11:42Sean McAllister: I mean, you may as well just do Friday to Friday in Vegas.
- 11:46Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 11:46Dayna Roselli: So they could add more.
- 11:47Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 11:48Dayna Roselli: But hey, if you want to go check it out, um, it sounds like it's gonna be really fun.
- 11:51Dayna Roselli: Tickets are on sale now.
- 11:53Dayna Roselli: I don't know how fast they're gonna sell out, but anima, the end of Genesis, uh presented by Afterlife coming to Sphere.
- 12:01Sean McAllister: And uh speaking of the Sphere, uh during the Olympic opening ceremonies, uh, they put highlights of the opening ceremony up on the exosphere.
- 12:12Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 12:12Sean McAllister: Which uh it's just so it's been so interesting to see how people are using the sphere.
- 12:20Sean McAllister: Right.
- 12:21Sean McAllister: And programming the space on the outside.
- 12:24Dayna Roselli: I think it's like, you know, it's it's interesting because it's like no one's gonna sit there and watch it, pull out a lawn chair, and I mean you could.
- 12:32Sean McAllister: I mean, you could if you wanted to.
- 12:33Dayna Roselli: Yeah, but it's a great, I think, reminder.
- 12:37Dayna Roselli: Like you're flying in, you're driving by, and you're like, oh, the Olympic opening ceremonies, I missed it, or oh, look, there's so-and-so performing, or oh wow, look at Team USA.
- 12:48Dayna Roselli: You know, I mean, I feel like it's great advertising.
- 12:52Sean McAllister: It absolutely is.
- 12:53Dayna Roselli: Really what, you know, but it's also entertaining, and it's like, oh, how cool.
- 12:58Dayna Roselli: And remember, they do have a live stream now on the sphere website, so you can watch it at any time if you want to check it out and just watch from home.
- 13:06Sean McAllister: Well, and I think something as globally visible as the Olympics, that's like a perfect thing to put up on the sphere since so many eyes from around the world are constantly checking in to see what's happening there.
- 13:20Dayna Roselli: Right, right.
- 13:21Dayna Roselli: Or visiting Las Vegas, right?
- 13:22Dayna Roselli: You know, people from all over, too.
- 13:24Dayna Roselli: So yeah, it's just so cool how they're using the sphere.
- 13:27Dayna Roselli: And I love all these new things they're announcing.
- 13:28Dayna Roselli: The Eagles keep extending shows too.
- 13:31Dayna Roselli: I mean, you know, um, so they're they're the next kind of like uh, I guess residency-ish show that'll be be here.
- 13:38Dayna Roselli: So um let's give an update on the drop.
- 13:40Dayna Roselli: Now we mentioned this update already in the episode we did about the Mirage closing.
- 13:46Dayna Roselli: We kind of tied it in with that, but we did get a text message, fan mail.
- 13:51Dayna Roselli: By the way, you can always text us.
- 13:53Dayna Roselli: Remember, um it's super easy.
- 13:56Sean McAllister: One click.
- 13:57Dayna Roselli: One click.
- 13:57Sean McAllister: Just go down to our show notes, click the link.
- 14:00Sean McAllister: It's right up there at the top of the show notes.
- 14:02Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 14:02Sean McAllister: And it'll open up the text, and you can just shoot us whatever's on your mind.
- 14:07Dayna Roselli: Yeah, whatever's on your mind.
- 14:08Dayna Roselli: We're there for you.
- 14:09Dayna Roselli: Um, but we do get these little messages, uh fan messages, and one's from Arlington, Virginia, and they say, Hi there, have you heard the date for the implosion of the Tropicana?
- 14:18Dayna Roselli: I definitely want to be there.
- 14:19Dayna Roselli: Thank you.
- 14:20Dayna Roselli: And remember, we can't text you back, and it only gives the last four digits of your phone number.
- 14:25Dayna Roselli: So um, if you do have a name and you want to put your name in or whatever.
- 14:30Dayna Roselli: Anyway, um, we did mention that.
- 14:32Dayna Roselli: We don't have the exact date though.
- 14:34Sean McAllister: We don't have the exact date.
- 14:36Sean McAllister: According to the permits that have been uh put in for demolition for an implosion, uh, it could happen anywhere from I believe it's September 29th through uh like the first week of October through October 8th.
- 14:52Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 14:53Sean McAllister: So uh that's the window that we're kind of looking at.
- 14:56Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 14:57Sean McAllister: That could change.
- 14:58Sean McAllister: We have not gotten an exact date within that window yet.
- 15:02Sean McAllister: Right.
- 15:02Sean McAllister: Um, but uh it is very likely it's going to happen in the first week of October.
- 15:09Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 15:09Dayna Roselli: So if you're coming in from Arlington, plan that week right now.
- 15:14Sean McAllister: Exactly.
- 15:14Sean McAllister: Yes, absolutely right now.
- 15:17Sean McAllister: Um, but after we got that text message, we were like, oh, we should probably head over there and just do a drive-by, see what the situation is.
- 15:25Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 15:26Sean McAllister: Um, and we did get some uh new video that we'll uh throw up on our social media.
- 15:32Sean McAllister: Um, the construction walls are all up around the entire property.
- 15:37Sean McAllister: The ground level buildings are pretty much they've already met the wrecking ball.
- 15:42SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 15:42Sean McAllister: And I mean the the hotel towers are just skeletons at this point.
- 15:49Sean McAllister: They don't even have any walls.
- 15:51Dayna Roselli: It's just a frame.
- 15:53Sean McAllister: Just the frame of frame of a building.
- 15:55Dayna Roselli: And that's definitely what they do, is they prepare for an implosion.
- 15:58Dayna Roselli: So you know, it's what it usually looks like.
- 16:00Dayna Roselli: They kind of gut it like that.
- 16:01Dayna Roselli: So so yeah, um, we'll put that up for you to see.
- 16:05Dayna Roselli: We put it in one of our TV shows recently, and and you know, it's interesting to see it kind of come down and start to get ready, get gutted, is if that's a phrase and ready for implosion in the fall.
- 16:19Dayna Roselli: Um, hey, Barry Manilo added shows over at the Westgate.
- 16:23Dayna Roselli: Man, he just keeps rolling them out.
- 16:25Dayna Roselli: I love this.
- 16:25Dayna Roselli: Barry Manilo has signed on for 2025 and he is committed, Sean.
- 16:31Dayna Roselli: He's back this September, has shows like all the way through December.
- 16:35Dayna Roselli: Then he's back in 2025 for a slew of months.
- 16:39Dayna Roselli: I mean, he has tons of shows on sale right now.
- 16:42Dayna Roselli: We love it.
- 16:43Dayna Roselli: Barry has one of the longest running Las Vegas residencies.
- 16:48Dayna Roselli: He's popped around to different places, but um, you know, the longest kind of run as a solo, you know, as an artist, a singer, performer.
- 16:57Dayna Roselli: Um, so he'll be over at the Westgate, continuing on his shows there.
- 17:01Dayna Roselli: It's a great theater, it's a great spot for him.
- 17:03Dayna Roselli: And uh look forward to having Barry continue on.
- 17:06Sean McAllister: And you know what I absolutely what's great about Barry Manilo, he has been, as you mentioned, a headliner here in Las Vegas for so long.
- 17:15Sean McAllister: Uh, he's donated musical instruments, like truckloads of musical instruments to different uh school music programs around Las Vegas over the years.
- 17:26Sean McAllister: So he's done great at giving back.
- 17:28Sean McAllister: But I think what a lot of people don't realize about Barry Manilo, obviously he has his hit songs like Copa Cabana, uh Mandy.
- 17:37Sean McAllister: And but he's responsible for some of the best known commercial jingles as well, right?
- 17:44Sean McAllister: Like the State Farm commercial, like a good neighbor, State Farm is there.
- 17:48Dayna Roselli: That's Barry Manila.
- 17:49Dayna Roselli: I know, and the band-aid one, right?
- 17:52Sean McAllister: Yes, I'm stuck on Band-Aid, because Band-Aid's stuck on me.
- 17:56Dayna Roselli: And a lot of times, if um when I've interviewed him in the past, he always kind of does that for you.
- 18:00Dayna Roselli: He does a little jingle on the piano, and you know, he he's proud of that.
- 18:04Sean McAllister: And is as he should be.
- 18:06Sean McAllister: That's part of like as people are listening to this, I'm sure that like it's gonna get stuck in your head.
- 18:12Sean McAllister: Right.
- 18:12Sean McAllister: He also did uh finger licking good day for KFC, right?
- 18:17Sean McAllister: So he's done, he did a Stridex commercial, Give Your Face Something to Smile About.
- 18:22Dayna Roselli: Oh my goodness.
- 18:23Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 18:24Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that's so good.
- 18:25Dayna Roselli: He also did the the American bandstand theme song.
- 18:28Dayna Roselli: Bandstand, bandstand, that one.
- 18:31Dayna Roselli: We're going uh hopping, we're going hopping.
- 18:34Dayna Roselli: That one.
- 18:34Dayna Roselli: Uh hopping to nut.
- 18:36Dayna Roselli: Yeah, he did that too.
- 18:37Dayna Roselli: I have it in my phone, actually, because I needed it for something.
- 18:40Dayna Roselli: And I every now and then it comes up if I'm on shuffle.
- 18:43Sean McAllister: I I just think that that speaks though to his talent that he's able to come up with that kind of music that really does stick with you because that's the point of these commercial jingles is to get stuck in your head.
- 18:58Sean McAllister: Right.
- 18:58Sean McAllister: So that when you think, oh, I have a cut, I need a bandage.
- 19:02Sean McAllister: Well, I'm having band-aid.
- 19:03Sean McAllister: Right.
- 19:04Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and then like parents can sing it to their kids and it's not so bad.
- 19:07Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 19:08Dayna Roselli: But how does it go at the beginning of the band-aid song?
- 19:11Dayna Roselli: But stuck on band aid and band-aid stuck on me.
- 19:15Dayna Roselli: Me.
- 19:16Dayna Roselli: Okay, on me.
- 19:16Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that's cute.
- 19:18Dayna Roselli: All right.
- 19:18Dayna Roselli: Well, we are definitely not the vocalists for the band-aid song.
- 19:22Sean McAllister: We are not, but we are fan-alos.
- 19:24Dayna Roselli: Well, Barry's here in 2025.
- 19:27Dayna Roselli: We love it.
- 19:27Dayna Roselli: His show's great.
- 19:28Dayna Roselli: I saw it over at Paris.
- 19:29Dayna Roselli: I haven't seen it at Westgate, and you and I said we got to get over and see him this run when he comes back in September.
- 19:34Sean McAllister: And just another side note on Westgate, um, they have some good restaurants over there.
- 19:38Dayna Roselli: Oh, they do.
- 19:39Dayna Roselli: It's great.
- 19:39Sean McAllister: Benny Hanna is terrific.
- 19:41Sean McAllister: It is.
- 19:41Sean McAllister: Their steakhouse over there is great.
- 19:44Sean McAllister: It's a classic property.
- 19:46Sean McAllister: Um which, if you're not staying, if you're staying on the strip, you don't, it's not in eyesight per se.
- 19:54Sean McAllister: So you might not think about it, but it's worth going over there.
- 19:57Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 19:57Dayna Roselli: And you know, as football season starts, it's got one of the best sports books, largest sports books, really cool to go over there and spend uh Sunday or whatever you want in get that experience.
- 20:07Dayna Roselli: Because it's like an old school sports book, but modern too.
- 20:10Dayna Roselli: It's a little bit everything.
- 20:12Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 20:12Dayna Roselli: And they got a little uh, what do you call it?
- 20:14Dayna Roselli: You know, food spot in there with different foods.
- 20:16Dayna Roselli: Like a diner kind of sports bar.
- 20:21Dayna Roselli: A couple different places.
- 20:22Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we're not really good at describing that.
- 20:25Dayna Roselli: Basically, there's like three counters and you can choose different things.
- 20:28Dayna Roselli: Don't they have like a salads and tacos and another thing?
- 20:30Sean McAllister: There are different options, yes.
- 20:32Dayna Roselli: Anyway, you'd think that I'd be a better platinum card holder over there.
- 20:35Dayna Roselli: I live near there, so I'm a platinum card holder.
- 20:37Dayna Roselli: So Sean and I, I signed you up and added you on.
- 20:40Dayna Roselli: And what do we get?
- 20:41Dayna Roselli: 25% off of the restaurants?
- 20:43Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 20:43Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 20:43Sean McAllister: So it's worth it to get that tier level.
- 20:46Dayna Roselli: We just don't look at the name when we get it of the place or what they have.
- 20:50Dayna Roselli: We just go order what we want.
- 20:52Dayna Roselli: Um, hey, play playground.
- 20:54Dayna Roselli: Uh, we covered this in our television show, and we thought, you know, we haven't talked about it much here on the audio podcast.
- 21:00Dayna Roselli: And this is a cool new attraction in Las Vegas.
- 21:02Dayna Roselli: I say new, it's newer.
- 21:04Sean McAllister: Right.
- 21:04Sean McAllister: It opened recently over inside uh Luxor.
- 21:08Sean McAllister: It's up on the second atrium level.
- 21:12Sean McAllister: Um, that's where the food court is.
- 21:14Sean McAllister: That's where uh some of the other showrooms, Particle Inc.
- 21:18Sean McAllister: is up there.
- 21:19Sean McAllister: Um and Play Playground is literally for adults only.
- 21:26Sean McAllister: It's a place designed to make you feel like a kid again.
- 21:30Dayna Roselli: And they have a couple bars in there, but it's all these interactive games and like life size activities operation game, like the game we used to play when we were kids, or what you jump up and in the Velcro wall and you attach, right?
- 21:48Sean McAllister: Yeah, you put on the Velcro suit, jump on the trampoline, and stick to the wall, and then you go down the slide and all that.
- 21:54Dayna Roselli: But it is for 21 and over.
- 21:57Dayna Roselli: And like you said, there's a bar and in curated dress.
- 22:00Dayna Roselli: So we went over and talked to Morgan Turkin to find out more and had him explain what a unique Las Vegas experience this is.
- 22:10SPEAKER_00: We're definitely the most playful bar in Vegas, that's for sure.
- 22:13SPEAKER_00: Play Playground is a 15,000 square foot fully immersive hands-on experience with over 20 games and attractions.
- 22:20SPEAKER_00: We are 21 and over.
- 22:21SPEAKER_00: At the end of the day, it's definitely more fun for adults to be able to come here and act like children rather than have to watch children.
- 22:31SPEAKER_00: You know, on our weekends, we even have DJs now, and we've kind of become a kind of nightlife alternative for people that are looking for more than like your typical nightclub experience.
- 22:39SPEAKER_00: We are busier at night typically than during the day.
- 22:42SPEAKER_00: So it gives you kind of a little bit of a nightlife feel, but a very casual feel.
- 22:47SPEAKER_00: We try to get people to start with our slide, uh, just because it's one of those things that, especially as adults, it's probably been a while since we've been on a slide.
- 22:54SPEAKER_00: So it just instantly puts a smile on your face and kind of gets you ready for the space.
- 22:58SPEAKER_00: And then, of course, we have amazing drinks and cocktails at the bar that you can top with along the way.
- 23:02SPEAKER_00: But you could really spend three or four hours here, you know, uh throughout the experience and really getting to enjoy everything.
- 23:08SPEAKER_00: There's really no skill set that can't enjoy the space.
- 23:12SPEAKER_00: Does not matter how tall you are, doesn't matter how strong you are, or even age.
- 23:16SPEAKER_00: Grandma can even come, yeah, a whole couple generations can come.
- 23:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 23:20SPEAKER_00: So we're the only venue that we don't have any VR arcade.
- 23:24SPEAKER_00: That's not our focus.
- 23:25SPEAKER_00: Our first focus is all hands-on interaction, which really sets us apart pretty much from anybody else.
- 23:30SPEAKER_00: The last you know couple generations have been so computer focused that people miss that and long for it.
- 23:35SPEAKER_00: And we've given them the ability to come come here and experience that again and feel like feel like a kid again.
- 23:41SPEAKER_00: The reactions are amazing, and and listening to adults act like children again and just genuinely be happy has been incredible.
- 23:50Sean McAllister: It really is a cool place.
- 23:53Sean McAllister: Play playground over at Luxor.
- 23:56Sean McAllister: Uh, they open at noon every day.
- 23:58Sean McAllister: Uh, they're open noon to midnight, Sunday through Thursday, Friday, Saturday.
- 24:04Sean McAllister: They're open until 2 a.m.
- 24:05Dayna Roselli: Wow, 2 a.m.
- 24:06Sean McAllister: That's cool.
- 24:07Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 24:08Dayna Roselli: Go in there and play and enjoy it.
- 24:10Sean McAllister: Late night.
- 24:11Sean McAllister: Love it.
- 24:11Dayna Roselli: All right, let's do some tips.
- 24:15Dayna Roselli: In tips this week, we want to hit some live music off the strip.
- 24:19Dayna Roselli: We have an Arizona Charlie's on Decatur Boulevard.
- 24:23Dayna Roselli: And then we also have an Arizona Charlie's Boulder, which is on Boulder Highway.
- 24:29Dayna Roselli: And both of them have lounges that have live music.
- 24:33Dayna Roselli: One, uh, the Boulder Highway one has the Palace Grand Lounge, and then Arizona Charlie's Decatur has the coverall lounge.
- 24:39Dayna Roselli: And here's what's cool about the live music that they do over there, Sean.
- 24:43Dayna Roselli: Because you know how sometimes you just want to go hear songs you know.
- 24:48Dayna Roselli: Yeah, stuff that you can kind of sing along to a little bit.
- 24:51Dayna Roselli: Cover songs, right?
- 24:52Dayna Roselli: I mean, new music's great, original stuff is great, but sometimes you're just kind of like, I want to go, you know, listen and dance to some of the songs that I know.
- 25:02Dayna Roselli: Well, they have great cover bands that perform at these lounges, and it's continuous.
- 25:09Dayna Roselli: They have a whole lineup through August and uh really good stuff.
- 25:14Dayna Roselli: Like there's a Lady Winehouse that's gonna be over at the uh Decatur location, and um then there is what was the other one?
- 25:28Sean McAllister: I like the Heart Benatar.
- 25:29Dayna Roselli: Yes, Heart Benetar, which is Heart's greatest hits and Pat Benatar's best shots.
- 25:35Dayna Roselli: Bandaba, which is ABBA's biggest hits, bandaba.
- 25:41Dayna Roselli: Say that five times fast, even write in the press release.
- 25:45Sean McAllister: Um Sweet Home Alabama, yeah, Leonard Skinner cover band.
- 25:50Sean McAllister: Uh I mean, there's some really good stuff.
- 25:52Dayna Roselli: And then they have like a band called like uh In In Effect, which is uh crowd faves from Yacht Rock all the way from Yacht Rock to Bruno Mars.
- 26:00Dayna Roselli: I mean, so anyway, they have tons of great bands at these locations, and like they have a band called Front Page that performs at the Boulder Highway location, and it's just the biggest top 40 tunes from cover to cover.
- 26:13Dayna Roselli: So you know you're gonna know the songs, and so I love this as an option.
- 26:17Dayna Roselli: Um, go check them out if you're looking for just a fun lounge feel, songs you know, live music, Arizona Char lace could be an option for you.
- 26:26Sean McAllister: Okay, at the top of the show, Dana, we mentioned what could possibly be the best bottle service deal in Las Vegas.
- 26:35Sean McAllister: Right.
- 26:36Sean McAllister: And the reason we found it is because we were looking through the Vegas Near Me app and it was on their page of deals.
- 26:43Sean McAllister: This one is at Crazy Horse 3.
- 26:46Sean McAllister: So it is uh an adult club.
- 26:49Dayna Roselli: Yep.
- 26:50Sean McAllister: Um which a lot of our listeners like, which is a lot of people like it.
- 26:54Sean McAllister: Um but the deal is incredible.
- 26:58Sean McAllister: It's$99 bottles, free entry to the club, and a free ride to the club.
- 27:06Dayna Roselli: Wow.
- 27:07Dayna Roselli: To the club.
- 27:08Sean McAllister: To the club.
- 27:09Sean McAllister: To the club.
- 27:11Sean McAllister: Transportation.
- 27:12Dayna Roselli: It's not a free ride.
- 27:14Sean McAllister: Transportation.
- 27:17Dayna Roselli: Crazy Horse 3 is right near a Legion Stadium, actually.
- 27:22Dayna Roselli: It's a gentleman's club.
- 27:23Dayna Roselli: But, you know, it's a lot of fun if you're looking for a night out and you're visiting Vegas and uh Yesin City, you know, this is a deal.
- 27:31Dayna Roselli: And you know, we um obviously Vegas Near Me is a sponsor of the audio podcast.
- 27:35Dayna Roselli: So we always look to kind of update our um promos for them.
- 27:39Dayna Roselli: And as we were doing that, we're like, God, they're really adding a lot of deals.
- 27:43Dayna Roselli: And that really stuck out to us as like, you know what?
- 27:45Dayna Roselli: That's a good deal if you're coming into town and you're looking for that Vegas only kind of night.
- 27:50Sean McAllister: It is.
- 27:51Sean McAllister: And you're not gonna find a$99 bottle service really anywhere else.
- 27:57Dayna Roselli: No, that's a great deal.
- 27:58Dayna Roselli: They have the go-car tours as well, um, sightseeing adventure tours, they have deals in there.
- 28:03Dayna Roselli: They have notoriety downtown, which is like a concert venue showroom.
- 28:08Dayna Roselli: They have buy one, get one free beer and well drinks, 50% off any show except Lunel over at Jimmy Kimmel's Comedy Club.
- 28:17Dayna Roselli: They have uh buy one, get one free drinks at the composer's showroom.
- 28:21Sean McAllister: That's great.
- 28:22Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 28:23Dayna Roselli: 50% off stars of comedy shows.
- 28:26Dayna Roselli: That is Harris Showroom, yeah.
- 28:28Dayna Roselli: They've launched this new stars of comedy.
- 28:30Dayna Roselli: And I want to say Carlos Mencia is gonna be doing a show over there with that.
- 28:34Dayna Roselli: Anyway, um, but lots of deals.
- 28:36Dayna Roselli: What you do is log on to the Vegas Near Me app, and then at the bottom you will see a little button that says, what does it say?
- 28:44Sean McAllister: It says deals.
- 28:45Sean McAllister: Deals.
- 28:46Sean McAllister: It's right there on the front page.
- 28:47Sean McAllister: It's a little purple circle with a little fire.
- 28:50Sean McAllister: Fire emoji because they're hot deals.
