How the Mighty Fall: Judgment on the Nations and Comfort for God's People | Isaiah 14–16
Episode Overview
What happens to the powers that crush God's people? In this episode we walk through Isaiah 14 through 16. The section begins with comfort: the Lord will have compassion on His people and choose them again, while those who exiled them are themselves brought low.
Isaiah taunts the king of Babylon, who sought to exalt his throne above God but is brought down to the grave. Prophecies against Moab follow, with real judgment on pride yet glimpses of mercy for those who humble themselves. The pattern is clear: God judges the oppressor and preserves His own.
