- 1:30three. I am Lisa Hopkins with Triggered Reactions Conquered and today my special guest
- 1:38is Jessa Popcorn Weaver. First, I want to go ahead and do my
- 1:45prayer and then I'll be reading a scripture and then we will go forward with
- 1:51meeting our amazing wonderful guests for today. Father God, in the name of
- 1:57Jesus Lord, we come before you today. Thank you for this opportunity to
- 2:02spend time with you and to let your holy spirit reign supreme. I thank
- 2:08you so much for this podcast on this day, this episode number forty two.
- 2:15Father God, I just asked that you would bless everybody that's represented here,
- 2:19bless every family, and meet every need according to your riches in glory.
- 2:23I thank you for this time, and I appreciate you so much for
- 2:27dropping the opportunity in my spirit for the podcast today. My scripture will be
- 2:34coming from Matthew twenty five and I will be reading Versus thirty five through forty.
- 2:43For I was hungry, and ye gave me meat. I was thirsty,
- 2:47and ye gave me drink. I was a stranger and you took me
- 2:52in naked, and ye clothed me. I was sick and you visited me.
- 2:58I was in prison, and you came to me to visit. Then
- 3:02shall the rights just answered him and say, Lord, when I when saw
- 3:08ye thee hungry and fed thee, or thirsty and gave you drink? When
- 3:15saw ye the strangers and took thee in or neked and clothe thee? Or
- 3:21when did we see you sick or in prison and came to visit you?
- 3:27And the King shall answer and say, when you've done it unto the least
- 3:31of them, you have done it unto me. At this time I would
- 3:37like to introduce to others and present to some of you, Miss Jessa Popcorn
- 3:46Weaver. Oh, hello, it's good to be here. Thank you for
- 3:52having me. Good afternoon, Miss Jessica, it is a pleasure to have
- 4:00you here. On Triggered Reactions Conquered with Lisa Hopkins. Today, our topic
- 4:05is a cheerful giver. I would like to welcome Miss Jessica Weaver. Her
- 4:15nickname is Popcorn and you'll find out more about that later on. The scripture
- 4:19that I read was Jessica all over. The Lord has dropped a wonderful,
- 4:28wonderful thing down in her spirit, and I'm gonna allow her to tell you
- 4:32who she is, where she lives, and whatever else you would like to
- 4:38share before I go into our interview. Yes, my name is Jessa Weaver
- 4:46and I have a nonprofit foundation which is called Jessa in Time, and I
- 4:54assist and serve the less fortunate and homeless community and I provide them with hygiene
- 5:03products, clothing of Pampers, baby wipes, shoes and sleeping bags. Whatever
- 5:14that I can assist with, I shall, and I love to do it
- 5:19well. I thank God for your nonprofit organization, and I do pray that
- 5:25the Lord will step in in a mighty way and meet every need for every
- 5:30person that you come in contact with. I also pray that God will do
- 5:38some funding for you and you will have all the money that you need where
- 5:42you won't have to go into your money and somebody will give you a grant
- 5:46and you can go from there. So I thank God for your nonprofit,
- 5:50and I thank you for being on the show. I would like to say
- 5:56this, The name of my podcast is Trigger React has Conquered. So I
- 6:01know that down through the down, through the years, something may have happened
- 6:08to trigger you to want to start this nonprofit organization. Um. I remember
- 6:15we had a conversation in regards to your grandmother. Yes, so I,
- 6:21um, I used to assist my grandmother when I was a young girl with
- 6:28serving her client. She had a boarding care home and and they so they
- 6:33lived there and she would serve them breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And
- 6:39she was up at five in the morning getney going. So that just inspired
- 6:45me and I just followed her footsteps. Well, I I truly thank God
- 6:50for your grandmother, imputing that in your spirit. A lot of times we
- 6:57have people that take after people in their family for the negative. But this
- 7:04is a take down from your family for the negative. So we won't call
- 7:10this, yeah, for the positive. We won't call this a generational curse,
- 7:16but we will call this a generational blessing because it's gonna bless people down
- 7:21the line. Yes, now, I know you had an incident with your
- 7:28daughter. Yeah, can you tell us a little bit about that. Yeah,
- 7:31so I have. My second child was john Nessa and she passed coming
- 7:41up on nine years ago. And after her passing, it was like it
- 7:46was nothing that I can live for. It seemed like I didn't have anything
- 7:49to live for and I couldn't get out the bed. I couldn't do anything.
- 7:55I couldn't do anything, and so I just prayed and prayed, and
- 8:00I started saying why why me? And God came to me and said why
- 8:05not. You were just babysitting for me and I wanted my daughter back,
- 8:11and by me being a childcare provider and in home care provider, I understand
- 8:18what it is to have to give a child or a person back to their
- 8:22rightful owners. So I started praying and asking God what can I do to
- 8:30assist in him to make me feel hold because it was like I was just
- 8:35lost. That was a part of me. And so he put in my
- 8:37heart to serve the community that I was in and and I never stopped.
- 8:46I just kept going and that made me hold. Every time I go out,
- 8:48I think my life is bad or it's a struggle, but when you
- 8:52go out and you see these people that don't have and they don't know where
- 8:56the next meal is coming from, or they don't have shoes then, and
- 9:00I want to keep assisted. I love to do it a man. Okay,
- 9:05now, you serve a lot of less fortunate and homeless people. Have
- 9:11you ever been homeless yourself? Yes, several times. And I tell my
- 9:16kids and people around me that homelessness hurts simply because you be aching. Your
- 9:24heart hurts for somewhere to be, Your hand hurt from carrying bags, your
- 9:28feet hurt from walking so much, and it's just it's just really unfortunate,
- 9:33the struggle that it is being homeless with no one to assist you, and
- 9:41no one that you can kind of talk to a lean on. And so,
- 9:46yeah, I've experienced it several times. Well, I thank God that
- 9:52you have gotten yourself out of a homeless situation. You've been there, you
- 9:56know what it's like. And I am so g eightfold just to know that
- 10:01you are willing to make homelessness better for someone. Yes, I would like
- 10:09for you to share with our listeners about being able to help a sad man
- 10:16that you saw not too long ago. Yeah. So I had a giveaway
- 10:22two weeks ago and I was out and I didn't have no assistance, and
- 10:26I wanted to not go. The enemy was trying to say, you don't
- 10:30have to go. There's no one, you know, you don't have to
- 10:31do it, and you don't have no health, and you know, just
- 10:35just wait till next week. And so I said, no, I'm going
- 10:37out and I just got to get out here and I'm gonna do whatever I
- 10:41can. And so I had prepared the meals already and I went out.
- 10:46And I usually go for the crowds, but at this point, God kind
- 10:50of had me look to the left and there was a man sitting there and
- 10:54he had his head hanging down and he was just kind of fumbling around and
- 10:58he was sitting there. So I turned around and went and drove up on
- 11:03him and I said, excuse me, sir, would you like a meal?
- 11:05Would you like a dinner? And he said, oh Lord, thank
- 11:09you. How did you know? I was just praying for some I'm so
- 11:13hungry. And I said, here you going. I gave him two plates
- 11:16because money. He really appreciated it. Yeah, that's why I thank God
- 11:22for that. Uh. It really uh it makes my heart go pity pat
- 11:28when I get these people of smiles from the people's faces yes. And that's
- 11:35why I told the people that you are a cheerful giver. Everything that the
- 11:41Word of God says about being a cheerful giver, it's you. I thank
- 11:46God for your spirit, for the love that you have for other people.
- 11:52And I want you to know that God as well pleased with that. Thank
- 11:54you, he man. So can you tell us the age groups? How
- 12:01you separate your age groups? What do you do? So? First,
- 12:07I do M zero. Well, usually when I go out for the children,
- 12:11I do zero to twelve years and sometimes fourteen years. But you know,
- 12:16they're not as small as they used to be at fourteen, so I
- 12:18put them in in a category of the young adults. So but I go
- 12:24for the zero to twelve years and then I go and I serve me and
- 12:28in women, any you know, all ages. But I separate the sizes
- 12:33and then um, everyone gets a meal, even if it's not the day
- 12:37for them to be served. It doesn't matter who I give the meals to.
- 12:41But I I really focus on the children if I'm going out for the
- 12:48children, and the adults if I'm going out for the adults, but everyone
- 12:50can eat. Oh praise God. So do you have anybody that goes out
- 12:56there with you to help assist you. Yes. So I have my daughter,
- 13:03um Chantay, she goes with me pretty often, and my grandchildren loved
- 13:07to go. So they're my my camera crew. And so they help me
- 13:13prepare the meals and so I do six months hot meals and six months sack
- 13:20lunches. So I'm always prepared the food with love and love because I love
- 13:24to do it, and and and so they assist me, my grandkids,
- 13:28my daughter, and then my dad is my president. And I have another
- 13:31daughter, Carlotta, who does my social media. And then I have a
- 13:37director that she kind of assists me with with putting in for grants if I'm
- 13:41you know, I'm trying to get grants and things like that. So yeah,
- 13:46those are those are the few people that I have. Okay, Well,
- 13:50we thank God for for your people being able and willing and capable and
- 13:58glad to give you a helping hand. We thank God for the camera crew,
- 14:01the designer crew, and just everybody that you have, and each and
- 14:07every one of them will be blessed. You tell them that, Miss Lisa
- 14:11Hopkins thanks them for their willingness to step out and help. Thank you.
- 14:18Yes, now do you have any type of fundraisers that you do. Yes,
- 14:24So that's how I got my nickname popcorn because I sell popcorn and I
- 14:33have seven different flavors. So I go out and sell popcorn, and I
- 14:39do fundraisers by selling T shirts with my logo on it, and and I
- 14:46go all over and so people that that don't really know me, they know
- 14:50when I'm coming with the popcorn, and so they say, hey, pop
- 14:54when I see them on the street after you know, I'm just going I'm
- 14:56in the bank or I'm at the park, and they say, aren't you
- 15:00popcorn? So I developed the nickname popcorn. Ay man, that's awesome,
- 15:07that's cute. Yes, So tell other people what types what flavors of popcorn
- 15:13you have. So I have, um, kettle corn, vanilla, chocolate,
- 15:20caramel, white, cheddar, yellow cheddar, cheddar, butter, and
- 15:26um. Sometimes there's a sausa Susa. Sounds good. Yes. So if
- 15:35anybody looking would like to get some of that popcorn from you, how do
- 15:39they do that? Well? You can. I have a YouTube channel and
- 15:43I have a Facebook, so you know, usually you can reach out to
- 15:48me on my jess in time. Um, I have Jessen time dot Org
- 15:52and I have Jessa in Time m YouTube channel, so if you leave a
- 15:56message, UM, I would surely get to you. Okay, Um,
- 16:03I believe you said something about a couple of stores that may be assisting as
- 16:11well. Yes, so why Walmart sponsors me? They have sponsored me for
- 16:15a couple of years, and also Smart and Final sponsors me. So I'm
- 16:21looking to get more assistance through other agencies, but it just hasn't hasn't happened
- 16:27yet. Okay, Well, we pray that the Lord will act speedily yea
- 16:34and get you those funds that you need and have more people that will be
- 16:40willing to support what you are doing. Truly, truly, if I had
- 16:45a store, I would be one of your supporters. Thank you. Hey,
- 16:51what is that I see in there? What is that in your background?
- 16:55Let me see what you got back there? What is that? So
- 16:57that's my banner that I when I go out and serve at times, if
- 17:03I'm gonna be stationary, I put my Jessa in Time banner up. And
- 17:08that's also my logo. Oh praise the Lord. Can you explain what that
- 17:14picture is there in the middle. So that's a picture of me and I'm
- 17:19holding um a platter of food, excuse me, bless you. And also
- 17:30I have a clothing then I'm holding clothing saying the Lord abuse you in the
- 17:37name of Jesus, because I go out take the time, I go out
- 17:42and um and give out clothing things. Oh, I apologize. So that's
- 17:48what that poster is, That's what that banner is. It just shows that
- 17:53I'm always willing to serve and I'm always having something in the hand to give.
- 18:00Amen. Did you ever give out paper and pencils and stuff for when
- 18:07school starts back? Yes? So I give our backpacks and I fill them
- 18:12with with the stationary that's needed for school. Okay. Um. The thing
- 18:23that you do, we couldn't call it anything but love. Yes, And
- 18:30I'm very grateful for that because the scripture that I read it said that God
- 18:40was actually thanking the people for clothing him when he needs clothes, and giving
- 18:48him water or something to drink when he was thirsty, or giving him clothes
- 18:52when he was naked. And the people said, well, when did we
- 18:56do that, Lord, We don't remember doing that. And God said,
- 19:02he said, when you've done it until the least of them, you have
- 19:07done it. Unto me, Now that is the truth. That is the
- 19:11truth and undefiled word of God. That was God speaking to them, letting
- 19:18them know that He was well pleased with them looking out for other people and
- 19:25putting them second instead of putting their own self first. I want you to
- 19:30know that God is well pleased with what you are doing. Sometimes it may
- 19:37seem like you're putting so much out for other people and maybe not getting anything
- 19:45back. But that's okay, because when your time comes, God is going
- 19:52to overflow. He's going to give you the desires of your heart. You're
- 19:56going to think about all the promises that God has uh mentioned in the Word
- 20:03of God. You're gonna see that his word will not come back, boyd,
- 20:08And He's just gonna pour out the windows, pour out a blessing that
- 20:15you will not have room to receive, as well as pour pouring out his
- 20:22love, his kindness, his mercy. And I know that he's doing that
- 20:27already. But He is going to give you that life that is more abundant,
- 20:34more abundant than what you can ever think of, dream of, or
- 20:38ask that to you in the name of Jesus. So, if you had
- 20:48a message that you would like to share with the listening audience, what would
- 20:56it be. Well, my message is when you see people that's less fortunate,
- 21:03because everybody's not homeless, so that's why I target the less fortunate as
- 21:07well. And some people don't like to be called homeless, but then some
- 21:11people are they have a place, but they don't have food, or they
- 21:17have food but they don't have a place. So if my message if you
- 21:21see someone that's in need and you can assist with anything, even if there's
- 21:27a dollar, a burger, a jacket, old shoes, they do a
- 21:33lot of them do appreciate it, and they don't know where their next meal
- 21:37is going to come from, but they don't know that someone is thinking that
- 21:41they may be in need. So if you if you are willing to assist,
- 21:48because we don't have a lot of assistance out here in the world.
- 21:51People say that what they will do and what they're gonna do, but it's
- 21:56got to be consistent and you got to really be willing to do it and
- 22:00tendue to do it because it's people out there that need to us. Everybody's
- 22:03not on an attic or addicted or or you know, did just fall on
- 22:10hard times, and some are mental ills, so they just need a little
- 22:14love is sometimes amen, So it sounds like love and it is love,
- 22:22yes, But or what would you tell the people that love looks like?
- 22:32To me, love looks like giving and sharing unconditionally is not what what people
- 22:41do or what they look like. It's just what you feel like in the
- 22:45insight and what you're willing to share. Sometimes it's just high or how you
- 22:51doing, or Jesus loves you. It don't have to be a lot,
- 22:55and you be surprised the minimum that you can share with a person that's just
- 23:00in need, even if it's conversation, and it can make their whole day,
- 23:03their whole life change a man the better. Thank you. Now,
- 23:10I've asked many questions, but I'm sure by talking to you, I'm sure
- 23:18that you have something that you would like to share that you haven't shared already.
- 23:26Well, basically, I would like for my my grandchildren to carry on
- 23:33my legacy and to be able to do more research and understand the needs of
- 23:41people, even if there aren't homeless, because lots of friends that I have,
- 23:48some of them aren't homeless. I have a couple of friends home because
- 23:49I know some people personally out there, and so I can just assist them
- 23:53with what I can, you know, and I just want them to continue
- 23:59to assist people in need of some companions, some love, you know,
- 24:03a prayer, and just to be kind to kind to people because being unkind
- 24:11and it's just it's it's harsh, and some people are really harsh to one
- 24:17another. We can be really cruel to each other. And I don't I
- 24:19don't condone that I saw. I want my grandkids just to carry the legacy
- 24:26and continue to support and share and give from the heart. Ay Man,
- 24:33I thank you, thank you, thank you so much for being here on

- 25:22portion of your life. And prayerfully somebody is listening and they will have the
- 25:30opportunity to reach out and just give up their heart and to be grateful in
- 25:37doing so, and hopefully some lessons have been learned. Maybe we've pricked somebody's
- 25:44heart in their mind and maybe they could remember a time when somebody needed something
- 25:48from them and they were not unable, but they were not willing. Yes,
- 25:55so maybe somebody listening will remember that next time somebody needs something from you
