- 0:00Here's your host, Alex Garrett. Silent then the evil Man motion Habwa Sama,
- 0:11the form the deluge. That's the model. As we don't want to
- 0:14speak up, we'll be swift. Only a little bit of the Paul McKenna
- 0:19band to start out my podcast. Maybe we'll keep that as an open for
- 0:24a while. As turmoil keeps rolling along as this podcast Alex Garet Podcast Network
- 0:31does as well, I'll drop the link of that song Silent Majority in the
- 0:35description below. I have some updates for you. Firstly, where are we
- 0:39staying with Starbucks? All right? Remember on this podcast I kind of said
- 0:43don't go there. I advocated that unless Starbucks fires the workers that basically had
- 0:50solidarity with Palestine, but what they really meant was going to Israel and attack
- 0:55Israeli's Because why would you post a bulldozer into, you know, barreling into
- 1:00the Israeli part of the Gaza strip. Why would you post that if you
- 1:04were just wanting to be insolidarity with Palestinians. That's my question. But I've
- 1:11done some research and Starbucks right now is at a war with Workers United.
- 1:19Starbucks claims Workers United damaged its brand by allegedly improperly using its name and logos
- 1:27imposts allegedly supporting Palestine. Well now allegedly it did support the Palestine and its
- 1:34ongoing conflict with Israel. Workers United argues Starbucks is defaming it and falsely attacking
- 1:42a reputation in an effort to bolster it's illegal anti union campaign, which I
- 1:48call bullon. Don't victimize yourself, Union Workers. I think the efforts of
- 1:57Starbucks going this far to disney themselves from their bearists is admirable. Since we
- 2:06last talked, I've had a little bit of Starbucks. I'm so wary because
- 2:10I'm not sure where this is going to fall at the end of the day.
- 2:14But do you believe when Starbucks Executive vice president Sarah Kelley says, Starbucks
- 2:19unequivocally condemns acts of terrorism, hate and violence. And we strongly disagree with
- 2:24the views expressed by Workers United, including its local affiliates, union organizers,
- 2:30and those who identify as members of Starbucks Workers United. None of these groups
- 2:36speak for Starbucks Coffee Company and do not represent our company's views, positions,
- 2:42or beliefs. Their words and actions belong to them and them alone, And
- 2:51I think that's a pretty strong statement from Starbucks. I'd like to see more.
- 2:55I don't know who's been fired. Apparently there has been some firing is
- 3:00going on. I have to get to the bottom of that. Well,
- 3:06let me say this. I have had a couple of Starbucks since I saw
- 3:19the lawsuits, since I saw them distancing themselves from the baristas. Because I
- 3:23went into my Starbucks today and I said, you know, I know it's
- 3:28a hot guy I look in the eye, but I only believe a select
- 3:32hand few handful are like this, and those are the handful that should be
- 3:38targeted. Those are the handful. But I look at my daily Starbucks and
- 3:43I look at them and I think they're good people. They seem to be
- 3:47good people. And why judge an entire network of sixteen thousand union workers when
- 3:59the sample size I see at the community Starbucks around Queens the city and Long
- 4:06Island where we go are not horrible people. They don't give me the impression
- 4:13they would want Israelis to be kidnapped and you know, killed and made hostages.
- 4:23That's only a fringe part of Starbucks. But again, if Starbucks took
- 4:28no action here, I would not walk into that place until I knew they
- 4:31had it under control. But these lawsuits seem to be a positive step toward
- 4:36rooting out the evil sector that says they basically stand with Amas. That's what
- 4:46they're saying. But you could stop listening to me if you don't like the
- 4:51fact that I've gone back to Starbucks based on my research. I just have
- 4:57until I otherwise feel it's not benefiting the support the cause and support of Israel.
- 5:08Fully, I think these lawsuits are a huge start, and I hope
- 5:15they go somewhere. But that's my latest update on the Starbucks where I stay
- 5:24with Starbucks. I didn't want to walk in there and not tell you,
- 5:26hey, here's what's going on. And then if you think that's controversial going
- 5:30back to Starbucks, how about this. How about a woman by the name
- 5:38of Jehaved Liftshitz who was actually a hostage, beaten by Hamas, taken out
- 5:48of her home, thrown onto a motorbike, and kidnapped to Gaza. And
- 5:58after all the hell's she's been through, she says she still shook the hand
- 6:04of a Hamas gunman while leaving custody. And that's public controversy. Now when
- 6:17you see that, it should be a lesson to humanity that here's an elderly
- 6:34woman who could forgive, who could maybe herself negotiate peace by just that handshake
- 6:51alone. That means she's acceping an olive branch to a group that terrorized her,
- 7:01kidnapped her, and held their hostage. But if that's controversy, then
- 7:14where do we find the peace in the world. If her shaking the hand
- 7:18of a Hamas Gumman is controversial, after the hell she's been through, where
- 7:24are we gonna find peace? I couldn't believe that. She said that she
- 7:30and other hostages were given food, medical attention, shampoo and conditioner, and
- 7:34mattresses to sleep on. And and the Hamas terrorists HuffPost calls them militants.
- 7:42I call them terrorists promised the hostages that they wouldn't be harmed, She told
- 7:47Canadian Broadcasting Group. They stormed into our homes. They beat people, they
- 7:50kidnapped others, the old, only young, without distinction. The young men
- 7:55hit me on the way. They didn't break my ribs, but it was
- 7:58painful, and I had difficulty breathe. And yet, and yet she was
- 8:05somehow able to shake the hand of the Hamas gum And then blamed her own
- 8:13leadership, her own country's leadership, for allowing the Hamas attack to occur.
- 8:20She called those victimized by Hamas the scapegoats for the leadership. She even wants
- 8:26coexistence with Palestinians, the people holding on the hope that he's doing well.
- 8:33Now that Huff posts the story because she's a little more sympathetic to the Palestinian
- 8:39cause. Is that why they did this? I hope not, Because honestly,
- 8:46if we want peace, why can't we start with an eighty five year
- 8:50old shaking hands with those who abducted her, those who are no good?
- 9:01Yet, somehow this woman has found the good. I commend her for having
- 9:05the strength to shake their hand, and I think it's something we can learn
- 9:11from. But that doesn't mean Israel should stop defending themselves, stop brooding out
- 9:18the bad guys and knocking them dead, the bad guys meaning Hammas. Because
- 9:22though this handshake I think could go a long way, there are those that
- 9:26don't even want to shake the hand of Israeli right now. They are out
- 9:31for blood, most of these Hummas terrorists. That's how I firmly believe,
- 9:37and I think you would too. But maybe this handshake could turn it around.
- 9:45Can soften those who are out for Israeli blood? Dare I say once
- 9:52in for all on the Alex Garrett Podcast Network. Talk to you soon.
