Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Let's go, man. We're back in Chad Withrow's second home. Yes.
- 0:04Speaker 1: Hutton here, Withrow here. Hutton and Withrow mornings and Dixieland
- 0:07Speaker 1: Delight Friday night. Let's go, man. We've got Alabama, Tennessee.
- 0:11Speaker 1: We are in Knoxville. Wagon Wheel is our location. Also
- 0:14Speaker 1: a second home for us. Yes. We're in Knoxville, spelled K-N-O-C-K-S-ville. Yes. Yes, apparently. Hey,
- 0:23Speaker 1: this is a beautiful spot. We are here.
- 0:26Speaker 2: We're going to get you a scene setter for the
- 0:28Speaker 2: weekend here, Tennessee and Alabama. Incredible spot in the old city, Hutton.
- 0:33Speaker 2: And every time I come back, I feel like the
- 0:36Speaker 2: winds of East Tennessee call me a little bit more
- 0:38Speaker 2: and more each time.
- 0:39Speaker 1: They're back. And this time it was a little warm
- 0:42Speaker 1: for the Texas game, right?
- 0:44Speaker 2: It was a much more lively crowd early for Texas
- 0:48Speaker 2: because the game was early. Tennessee fans understand that this
- 0:52Speaker 2: is a marathon, not a sprint. You pace yourself, right?
- 0:56Speaker 2: There are people trickling in here right now. They know
- 0:58Speaker 2: we're not going to go out until a little bit
- 1:00Speaker 2: later than we would have before an 11 a.m.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Or noon kickoff, right?
- 1:04Speaker 2: And then you get yourself prepped the way you should.
- 1:06Speaker 2: As Josh Heupel said, if you want to get there early,
- 1:08Speaker 2: take advantage of the happy hour inside the stadium with
- 1:11Speaker 2: half-priced beverages. Then you do that. But we're going to
- 1:13Speaker 2: have a blast here tonight. Good to have you here
- 1:16Speaker 2: with us, Hutton.
- 1:16Speaker 1: Good to be back, man. You were here for the
- 1:17Speaker 1: Texas game.
- 1:18Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:18Speaker 1: So it's good to be here. This is going to
- 1:19Speaker 1: be a blast. We're presented by Hard Rock Bet right now.
- 1:22Speaker 1: At Hard Rock Bet, you can download the app. You
- 1:24Speaker 1: can roll with us at hardrock.bet.com. The line currently Alabama
- 1:29Speaker 1: favored on the road by 7.5. They come in with
- 1:34Speaker 1: a 15.5 points over under total points scored. And I
- 1:38Speaker 1: get the feeling you're okay with this. Not okay with it.
- 1:42Speaker 1: But you think it's fair?
- 1:43Speaker 2: Yeah, a lot of the predictions I've seen, people talking
- 1:46Speaker 2: about this game, 27-24 is a popular pick.
- 1:49Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:50Speaker 2: One way or the other for Tennessee or Alabama. So
- 1:53Speaker 2: that 50-and-a-half point line would make a lot of sense
- 1:55Speaker 2: with that one.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Yep.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Being a 51-point total. Look, I think that we're going
- 2:00Speaker 2: to talk about this game a lot, but Alabama's offense
- 2:04Speaker 2: is so much further along than Tennessee's offense. On the
- 2:07Speaker 2: flip side, Tennessee's defense is better than Alabama's defense.
- 2:11Speaker 4: It is.
- 2:12Speaker 2: Tennessee's defense is going to go up against a starting
- 2:16Speaker 2: center who's never really played for Alabama, possibly in this game.
- 2:20Speaker 1: With Gilliam on the other side, let's go.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Xavier Gilliam might be, as Cole Kubrick said, the best
- 2:24Speaker 2: defensive player in America. There's a lot of things to
- 2:27Speaker 2: like about Tennessee in this game, Hudden. I just keep
- 2:29Speaker 2: going back to Keelan Russell has a QBR of 90,
- 2:33Speaker 2: third best QBR in America this year. Their quarterback play
- 2:37Speaker 2: has been so much better. And the story with Tennessee, obviously,
- 2:41Speaker 2: George McIntyre, the backup, now the starting quarterback for the Vols.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Yep. I mean, coming off the Arkansas game, it wasn't
- 2:47Speaker 1: like you absolutely sucked. There's got to be more with
- 2:51Speaker 1: the conservative play calling that we saw from Josh Heupel.
- 2:54Speaker 1: And I think there are ways to do that in
- 2:56Speaker 1: this game that take advantage of the Alabama defense's the
- 3:00Speaker 1: way they could have against Auburn or Arkansas. We'll get
- 3:03Speaker 1: to that in a moment. But I look at this,
- 3:05Speaker 1: I think there's an absolute great chance that Tennessee keeps
- 3:08Speaker 1: this close for a game. And with that in mind,
- 3:10Speaker 1: I'm thinking 7.5 makes me want to take Tennessee. With
- 3:16Speaker 1: a field goal kick, whatever it might be, both special
- 3:18Speaker 1: teams very efficient this season. Neither field goal kicker has
- 3:22Speaker 1: made a kick beyond 50 yards. So you've got to
- 3:25Speaker 1: get around the 32-yard line or so. That's your That's
- 3:27Speaker 1: your spot. I think it's a close game tomorrow. I do.
- 3:31Speaker 1: And I'm about ready to take Tennessee plus the 7.5.
- 3:36Speaker 1: I do think the under hits.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Josh Heifel, 2022-2024, wins this game in Knoxville. He's 2-0
- 3:42Speaker 2: against Alabama at Neyland Stadium. When you look at what
- 3:46Speaker 2: they were able to do in those two games, in 2022, Hutton,
- 3:49Speaker 2: we were there. It was a laser show. It was
- 3:53Speaker 2: Hendon Hooker hitting Jalen Hyatt. It was five touchdowns. It
- 3:58Speaker 2: was every time Nick Saban in Alabama at the time.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Not in a certain defense.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Josh Heupel had the right call dialed up, and it
- 4:06Speaker 2: was bombs away.
- 4:07Speaker 1: It was a big run.
- 4:09Speaker 2: It was a huge scramble by Hendon Hooker. Every answer
- 4:12Speaker 2: they had. Tennessee's defense got shredded in that game by
- 4:15Speaker 2: Bryce Young also. It was a true shootout in that one, right?
- 4:18Speaker 1: It was the best single performance at quarterback that Alabama's seen. Yep.
- 4:23Speaker 2: It was unbelievable to watch. It was a magic show. 2024,
- 4:27Speaker 2: Josh Heupel had a really good defense. He had Dylan
- 4:30Speaker 2: Sampson who could run, played conservatively. They win the game 24-17.
- 4:34Speaker 2: Nico made some big throws. Made a huge throw to
- 4:38Speaker 2: Chris Brazel for the touchdown. The go-ahead touchdown eventually won
- 4:41Speaker 2: the game, right? I feel like this game is kind
- 4:44Speaker 2: of a balance between the two. where Tennessee's got to
- 4:47Speaker 2: find something through the air. They've got to get George
- 4:49Speaker 2: McIntyre going. They've got to get Mike Matthews the football.
- 4:52Speaker 2: They've got to get Braylon Staley playing better. But also,
- 4:55Speaker 2: Tennessee's got a great defense in this game too. So
- 4:58Speaker 2: can Josh Heupel go 3-0 against Alabama? I mean, college
- 5:02Speaker 2: football fans, I don't think for the vast majority understand
- 5:06Speaker 2: the historical significance of Tennessee and Alabama in the SEC
- 5:10Speaker 2: race for years and years. For a Tennessee coach, given
- 5:14Speaker 2: what they just went through, from Blaine Kiffin to Derek
- 5:20Speaker 2: Dooley to Butch Jones to Jeremy Pruitt, to have a
- 5:24Speaker 2: volunteer coach go 3-0 against Bama at Neyland, that would
- 5:28Speaker 2: be gigantic for Josh Heifel.
- 5:30Speaker 1: It's been since Jeremy Pruitt wore the COVID sheath. Yeah,
- 5:35Speaker 1: over his face, his entire face. The babushka. Yes, it's
- 5:39Speaker 1: been since then that Alabama won in Knoxville. Chad, I think,
- 5:42Speaker 1: believe it or not, I think George McIntyre's going to
- 5:44Speaker 1: run it. The boot is wide open. It is wide open,
- 5:49Speaker 1: and on the RPO, he's going to do it one time.
- 5:52Speaker 1: He's going to go, he's going to boot out and
- 5:53Speaker 1: actually have the threat of running it. I think he
- 5:56Speaker 1: gets a big yardage off of this. He makes the
- 5:59Speaker 1: defense run. actually have to defend this. Because right now,
- 6:02Speaker 1: I mean, it's been there. He just hasn't done it.
- 6:06Speaker 1: I realize why. But it makes me think of the
- 6:08Speaker 1: Peyton Manning running in with the ball in his hand.
- 6:10Speaker 1: That is wide open. And if we see Faison Brandon
- 6:15Speaker 1: in this game in certain spots, it's a run. That's
- 6:17Speaker 1: the way I'm going to view it. And if we
- 6:18Speaker 1: see McIntyre, it's a pass. I don't want to see,
- 6:21Speaker 1: or it's a handoff. I don't want to see that
- 6:24Speaker 1: the entire game because it's so obvious. If he just
- 6:26Speaker 1: does it one time, it's a 20-yard gain. It's just
- 6:29Speaker 1: that obvious, Chad. Can he do it? He's got to
- 6:31Speaker 1: be the one to pull it and go.
- 6:33Speaker 2: If Highpool and Faison Brandon can hit a pop pass
- 6:35Speaker 2: in this game, I want to see the old Tim
- 6:37Speaker 2: Tebow offense in 2006 where Urban Meyer would put Tim
- 6:41Speaker 2: Tebow in and run situations.
- 6:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 6:43Speaker 1: But occasionally he would roll out and throw it. And
- 6:46Speaker 1: every time Tim.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Tebow threw it, it was a huge play. I want
- 6:49Speaker 2: to see the fake quarterback draw where they're telegraphing. They
- 6:53Speaker 2: got three tight ends in. All this is going on.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Hit Luka Wolf, the freshman from Austria, at tight end.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Something no one is predicting at all, right? If you're
- 7:04Speaker 2: going to this game, I say that. I'm not joking.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Josh Heupel needs three to four scheme plays like that.
- 7:11Speaker 2: where you're going to have a situation where the defense
- 7:14Speaker 2: is coming up, you're going to go up to it,
- 7:15Speaker 2: fake run, throw it to somebody. In order to beat
- 7:19Speaker 2: Alabama and keep your offense on the field, it's going
- 7:21Speaker 2: to take some of that for Tennessee. I feel like
- 7:23Speaker 2: the Texas game, I was saying the same thing. It's
- 7:25Speaker 2: going to take some turnovers. It's going to take a
- 7:27Speaker 2: special teams touchdown.
- 7:28Speaker 1: Guess what?
- 7:29Speaker 2: Tennessee got a special teams touchdown in that game. The
- 7:31Speaker 2: punt return from Quay Moss. They got the onside kick
- 7:34Speaker 2: in that game. They still couldn't win it in the end.
- 7:37Speaker 2: When you go into a.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Game feeling that way, it's a tough spot to be in.
- 7:41Speaker 2: But this Tennessee team and Josh Hypel and Joey Halsley
- 7:44Speaker 2: in particular, they're capable of drawing something up like that.
- 7:48Speaker 1: And they have to be excellent in the red zone. Yep. Um,
- 7:51Speaker 1: you know, it was, uh, Womack, Kane Womack, who got, um,
- 7:54Speaker 1: Aguilar in the red zone last year. And that totally
- 7:57Speaker 1: changed the game to give it a lot of different
- 7:58Speaker 1: looks in the red zone. They, they have to be
- 8:01Speaker 1: able to overcome that with McIntyre. And if they do,
- 8:04Speaker 1: if they're able to be excellent, the red zone score
- 8:06Speaker 1: touchdowns there, they can win the game. Um, Everyone's saying
- 8:11Speaker 1: don't turn the football over. No one wants to. You
- 8:13Speaker 1: just have to win the turnover battle and be able
- 8:16Speaker 1: to go and score and capitalize. You have great field position.
- 8:18Speaker 1: You know, you can't bounce the ball off your running
- 8:21Speaker 1: back's shoulder pad. No. Ten to half. No.
- 8:24Speaker 2: I mean, by the way, speaking of the play last year,
- 8:26Speaker 2: talking about with Joey Aguilar before half, flashbacks to that
- 8:28Speaker 2: with the Arkansas game. As the clock is ticking down
- 8:31Speaker 2: to three seconds, and he's running down the field, I'm thinking, please, God,
- 8:35Speaker 2: somebody tackle this dude. Thank God for Darius Jackson, rah-rah,
- 8:39Speaker 2: as his teammates call him, for hustling. He was running
- 8:42Speaker 2: a route down the field and caught the defensive line behind.
- 8:45Speaker 2: And George McIntyre tripped him up initially, was right behind him,
- 8:49Speaker 2: running him.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Down as a quarterback. Can't have that.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Can't have stupid things like that. Look, Tennessee opened the
- 8:55Speaker 2: second half against Arkansas with a five-yard false start. You
- 8:59Speaker 2: cannot do things like that. When you're set and ready,
- 9:02Speaker 2: get on the field and get ready to get a
- 9:04Speaker 2: drive going. You can't have stupid mistakes like that to
- 9:06Speaker 2: start drives if Tennessee's going to win. But when I
- 9:10Speaker 2: look at both rosters, Alabama's very good. They're better than
- 9:13Speaker 2: Tennessee on offense right now. These rosters are very similar
- 9:17Speaker 2: from a talent standpoint. And this game is at home.
- 9:20Speaker 2: And you are a big underdog. For a game like
- 9:22Speaker 2: this over a touchdown underdog, Vegas is saying they do
- 9:26Speaker 2: not believe.
- 9:26Speaker 1: They believe.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Alabama loses to Georgia. They're going to bounce back. This
- 9:30Speaker 2: is the week they come back. In the boomerang effect,
- 9:33Speaker 2: they're going to win. Tennessee squeaks by Arkansas. They feel
- 9:36Speaker 2: like they're going to let down.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Prove them wrong. Prove them wrong if you're the Vols.
- 9:40Speaker 1: They believe that Keelan Russell is going to go on
- 9:42Speaker 1: the road in a huge road test. And with a
- 9:45Speaker 1: huge home field advantage. We saw that against Auburn. That
- 9:49Speaker 1: factored in. They believe Keelan Russell is going to handle it.
- 9:52Speaker 1: He's handled everything very well. But keep this in mind.
- 9:55Speaker 1: It was Keelan Russell initially. They wanted George McIntyre. in
- 10:00Speaker 1: the recruitment. That's also a storyline with all of this
- 10:03Speaker 1: is they landed McIntyre. I mean, I think George McIntyre's
- 10:07Speaker 1: final choices were, yeah, Tennessee, Bama, and LSU were the
- 10:11Speaker 1: last three. And it was McIntyre that went to Tennessee.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Nothing about the quarterback situation from Tennessee makes sense.
- 10:17Speaker 1: Let me address this also, okay?
- 10:19Speaker 2: And I think if you look at Tennessee, right now
- 10:21Speaker 2: they're 10th in the SEC in recruiting out of high school.
- 10:25Speaker 2: I believe that they have shifted their focus away from
- 10:28Speaker 2: spending so much money on freshmen in college and high
- 10:32Speaker 2: school players to they're going to hit the portal hard
- 10:34Speaker 2: every single year. and they feel like that's a better
- 10:37Speaker 2: route to go. But at quarterback especially, you cannot go
- 10:40Speaker 2: back-to-back years with George McIntyre, borderline five-star, over-a-million-dollar-a-year guy, to
- 10:46Speaker 2: an over-two-million-dollar-a-year guy in Faison Brandon. This is not the way.
- 10:51Speaker 2: All the Star Wars quotes and everything out there, this
- 10:54Speaker 2: is not the way. Like the way they've done it.
- 10:56Speaker 2: You can do it and sprinkle in one guy to develop,
- 10:59Speaker 2: and then you wait a couple years, you get the
- 11:02Speaker 2: guy that can transfer in and contribute immediately. Tennessee doesn't
- 11:05Speaker 2: have that, though.
- 11:07Speaker 1: They've got two guys one year apart. Maybe the strategy
- 11:09Speaker 1: has just been the rules aren't in place to actually
- 11:13Speaker 1: protect the contract, like the way Nico bolted, right? Like
- 11:17Speaker 1: he's got his money, he played, and he's gone. the
- 11:21Speaker 1: return in investment doesn't meet the actual up front, even
- 11:24Speaker 1: though he played. So maybe it is just a one-year
- 11:26Speaker 1: plan until you have rules and structure in place. I mean,
- 11:29Speaker 1: it may not even matter who you recruit for a year.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Look, if it works out, Jared Curtis at Vanderbilt the
- 11:34Speaker 2: same way. Bryce Underwood is not working out at Michigan.
- 11:37Speaker 2: And this is another example of that. Huge investment out
- 11:40Speaker 2: of high school. You're our three-year guy. You're going to
- 11:42Speaker 2: start right away. Faison Brandon, next example. was rough against Texas. Granted,
- 11:47Speaker 2: he was hurt, was rough against Auburn. He gets taken out.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Jared Curtis, Vandy is not good this year. They're battling
- 11:55Speaker 2: Arkansas tomorrow to see who's going to be last place
- 11:58Speaker 2: in the SEC. I'm very confident in saying that. That
- 12:01Speaker 2: is going to be their one win, I feel like,
- 12:03Speaker 2: right now for one of those teams in this game.
- 12:05Speaker 1: I'm taking you over.
- 12:06Speaker 2: Yeah, in their game. But again, like, Can you keep
- 12:09Speaker 2: Jared Curtis three years? Are you going to keep Faison
- 12:12Speaker 2: Brandon three years? Look, if Faison Brandon comes back next
- 12:14Speaker 2: year as a starter, and Tennessee's a playoff team, which
- 12:17Speaker 2: we'll get to, could be different with 24 teams in
- 12:19Speaker 2: the playoffs.
- 12:19Speaker 1: It could be.
- 12:20Speaker 2: But if they're competing at the top of the sport
- 12:23Speaker 2: for the next two years, you win. It's a win
- 12:26Speaker 2: for you. If George McIntyre is truly the guy, it's
- 12:30Speaker 2: a waste. Well, it's a waste of resources, and it's
- 12:34Speaker 2: not the route to go in today's college football.
- 12:35Speaker 1: It only works if your coaches are coming back. We
- 12:38Speaker 1: didn't see that at Michigan because of other rare reasons. Yep.
- 12:41Speaker 1: And you've got to have both sides come back and invest. Chad,
- 12:46Speaker 1: let's not even go to the 2014. If Tennessee wins
- 12:48Speaker 1: this game tomorrow, they are jumping into the college football playoff. Oh, yeah.
- 12:53Speaker 1: It is realistic at that point. You're in it. And
- 12:57Speaker 1: you give Bama another loss. LSU's already got their two losses.
- 13:01Speaker 1: They're in a great spot. I mean, you got the
- 13:02Speaker 1: win over Bama with their 7.5 points. That won't be remembered, though,
- 13:05Speaker 1: the 7.5-point favorites by Bama. No. Because they lost to Georgia,
- 13:09Speaker 1: that back-to-back loss. It looks good right now.
- 13:11Speaker 2: If you're a Tennessee and Alabama fan, I mean, Alabama, obviously,
- 13:13Speaker 2: you were very close to beating Georgia at home.
- 13:16Speaker 1: You're upset about that. 5-1 versus 5-1. This is what
- 13:20Speaker 1: we wanted. Here we are. We're in Knoxville. We are
- 13:23Speaker 1: at Wagon Wheel in the old city.
- 13:25Speaker 2: We wanted 5-1 versus 5-1 with playoff hopes on the line. Now, look,
- 13:31Speaker 2: if you're Tennessee, realistically, you've got to split these next
- 13:34Speaker 2: two games. You can't lose both.
- 13:36Speaker 1: You're out.
- 13:37Speaker 2: You've got to beat Bama or you've got to beat
- 13:39Speaker 2: South Carolina. You beat both, Hutton. You're sitting really pretty.
- 13:43Speaker 2: Going into November, right? If you win one of the two,
- 13:45Speaker 2: you're alive in November. You get a bye week on
- 13:48Speaker 2: Halloween day. So you're still in a good spot going
- 13:51Speaker 2: into November with Kentucky coming into Knoxville to start the month.
- 13:55Speaker 2: And then you've got that trip to A & M.
- 13:58Speaker 1: Yes.
- 13:58Speaker 2: But outside that, you've got LSU coming in. All the
- 14:00Speaker 2: top opponents for Tennessee right now, if you look at it. Kentucky,
- 14:04Speaker 2: and as good as they've looked. Bama tomorrow.
- 14:08Speaker 1: LSU. They're in Neyland Stadium. They're all here.
- 14:11Speaker 2: And Tennessee has not won enough big games at Neyland
- 14:15Speaker 2: in the last year and a half. Texas was a
- 14:18Speaker 2: continuation of that in this game. Go win a big
- 14:21Speaker 2: game at Neyland. Go win two of the three big
- 14:24Speaker 2: games that Neyland left. You don't have to win all
- 14:25Speaker 2: of them. Win two of the next three. You're going
- 14:28Speaker 2: to put yourself in a position to play for.
- 14:30Speaker 1: That national title. They've been able to overcome some high
- 14:32Speaker 1: pool problems. Lutz liked hearing about Kentucky being good, by
- 14:36Speaker 1: the way. Yeah, he is. He's like, damn it. Finally,
- 14:39Speaker 1: Kentucky's a challenge to Tennessee. He's also happy. They are,
- 14:41Speaker 1: by the way. They're very good. Yeah. I mean, he's
- 14:44Speaker 1: also very happy that the weather is much better this
- 14:46Speaker 1: weekend than it was in Lexington last week.
- 14:48Speaker 2: Something we found out is Lutz is not a fan
- 14:50Speaker 2: of cold weather. But I'm like, I mean, this is
- 14:52Speaker 2: like 60s, 50s.
- 14:52Speaker 1: This is perfect. It's like 60s right now. Actually, it
- 14:56Speaker 1: feels like 50. It's probably 70 degrees outside. Well, the
- 15:00Speaker 1: wind is blowing. Because it just dropped so fast. I
- 15:02Speaker 1: sound like a Jim Cantore over here.
- 15:04Speaker 2: The wind is blowing slightly northwest to southeast. It's a
- 15:08Speaker 2: little bit breezy. Feels more like 62, Hutton, but what
- 15:12Speaker 2: we know is it's going to be perfect weather this
- 15:14Speaker 2: weekend for Tennessee and Alabama.
- 15:15Speaker 1: I cannot wait. We're going to be in the stadium tomorrow,
- 15:18Speaker 1: and it's going to be awesome. We have a fight
- 15:20Speaker 1: in one of these games behind you. I thought you
- 15:22Speaker 1: said there was going to be a fight behind us
- 15:23Speaker 1: right now. I'm watching one of the games. I was like,
- 15:26Speaker 1: am I going to have to throw hands? Army and
- 15:28Speaker 1: Coastal Carolina just got into a brawl. Um, they were showing,
- 15:32Speaker 1: they were showing up one for last season. They ran
- 15:33Speaker 1: up the game. Okay. And Chad, your hard rock lock
- 15:35Speaker 1: of the week right now, uh, 10, three, not good
- 15:38Speaker 1: to lane down by seven. The spread six and a
- 15:41Speaker 1: half plus six and a half. We need the green
- 15:42Speaker 1: way to get going right here. Hutton. They're down seven
- 15:44Speaker 1: right now, but are you 17? And what, what was
- 15:46Speaker 1: the record? 14 to one, 14 to one. He's going
- 15:48Speaker 1: to be 17 to one soon. Um, And this was
- 15:52Speaker 1: the definition of the heat check.
- 15:54Speaker 2: I did no research. I do nothing but I just
- 15:56Speaker 2: looked at it and said, what's my gut reaction?
- 15:58Speaker 1: Tulane will cover. They will. Need to stop. Need to
- 16:02Speaker 1: stop right here, Hunt. We need to stop. Hardrock.bet slash play.
- 16:06Speaker 1: My lock of the week. We'll find out tomorrow. Ohio State,
- 16:08Speaker 1: Indiana taking the under 51.5. It's dropped to 50. So
- 16:12Speaker 1: I would get it up. Take the 51.5. I think
- 16:14Speaker 1: it's going to matter just based on what we're seeing
- 16:18Speaker 1: with the drop. We're going to go through some games
- 16:19Speaker 1: coming up. We also have The last time you and
- 16:22Speaker 1: I were here for the Bama-Tennessee together was our night
- 16:27Speaker 1: with Alan Bean, Clay Travis. Yes. And that was when
- 16:31Speaker 1: all the demons were exercised. Yes. It was cathartic. It
- 16:35Speaker 1: was genuine, emotional. And when I say emotional, we mean
- 16:39Speaker 1: it in terms of what we saw from Clay. Yeah.
- 16:42Speaker 1: In the back of a pickup truck. He's flying private
- 16:45Speaker 1: jets now. Yes. Then we were taking an Uber in
- 16:48Speaker 1: the back of a pickup truck.
- 16:48Speaker 2: I mean, he paid about as much as you would
- 16:50Speaker 2: for a private jet to that pickup truck owner.
- 16:53Speaker 1: But, yes, it was in the back of a pickup truck.
- 16:55Speaker 1: It's a classic moment. We're going to play that because
- 16:58Speaker 1: we have it on video where we were able to
- 17:01Speaker 1: get out of Neyland Stadium somehow. We walked about a
- 17:05Speaker 1: mile and a half, two miles, to get up Neyland
- 17:08Speaker 1: Drive and close to Kingston Pike.
- 17:10Speaker 2: I can tell you exactly where we were. We were
- 17:12Speaker 2: pulled over in an agricultural building. And then finally someone stopped.
- 17:16Speaker 1: I forgot about the eye builder. You're right.
- 17:18Speaker 2: They were getting turned around, and we stopped them. And
- 17:20Speaker 2: Clay said, I think I'll pay you $ 500.
- 17:23Speaker 1: To drive us back to our condo. He was pulling
- 17:25Speaker 1: a Yui. He said, come on. Because he couldn't get through. Yeah.
- 17:27Speaker 1: And he's having to turn around. And Clay was just like,
- 17:29Speaker 1: I'll just give you cash. I've got a few hundred.
- 17:31Speaker 2: I remember Clay walking up to his room at the
- 17:33Speaker 2: Airbnb to get the cash to bring back to the guy.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Yeah. And we're back there with, like, their newlyweds, right? Like,
- 17:39Speaker 1: there were, like, it was, like, two newlyweds. Probably in
- 17:43Speaker 1: their 20s that drove us. He had to, he took the,
- 17:47Speaker 1: this is not in the video at all. He took
- 17:48Speaker 1: the bed of the cover, the bed cover. He rolled
- 17:52Speaker 1: that back, took all of that stuff that he had there,
- 17:54Speaker 1: put it in the cab. He had one other guy
- 17:58Speaker 1: with him, I feel like. That guy was probably sitting
- 17:59Speaker 1: on all that. There was a lot of.
- 18:00Speaker 2: Trust in Knoxville that night because I feel like we
- 18:03Speaker 2: could have been the Manson family taking him back to
- 18:05Speaker 2: a house.
- 18:06Speaker 1: They could have been murderers also. Didn't care.
- 18:09Speaker 2: We were all in orange, and we said, you know what?
- 18:12Speaker 2: We're going to figure this out. We trust you. We're
- 18:14Speaker 2: going to ride back. We're going to pay you the $ 500.
- 18:15Speaker 2: We're going to trust you with our women and put
- 18:19Speaker 2: them in the back of the truck, too, if we
- 18:20Speaker 2: need to. Everything was fine.
- 18:23Speaker 1: You're right. And guess what happened? Nothing bad happened.
- 18:25Speaker 2: It's amazing, America, when we come together in moments like
- 18:28Speaker 2: that and everyone feels the glee of a big win
- 18:32Speaker 2: on a college football Saturday.
- 18:34Speaker 1: Incredible. They didn't make a big mistake that night. No
- 18:37Speaker 1: mistakes were made. I'll never forget it.
- 18:39Speaker 2: That guy got $ 500 richer for driving 15 minutes.
- 18:42Speaker 1: And for a moment that we have in the history books,
- 18:46Speaker 1: it's legendary because it's college football. It's the fabric of
- 18:50Speaker 1: why we love sports because of the impact it has
- 18:53Speaker 1: on the past, present, and future. Here's Clay Travis in
- 18:56Speaker 1: the bed of the pickup truck as we're about halfway
- 18:59Speaker 1: back to the Airbnb, and we start saying that we
- 19:02Speaker 1: just beat Bama to me. Clay, you were tearing up
- 19:07Speaker 1: at the end.
- 19:08Speaker 4: I cried.
- 19:09Speaker 1: I mean, that's how much it meant to me.
- 19:10Speaker 4: It's embarrassing to be 43 years old and cry at
- 19:14Speaker 4: the result of a football game, but I'll tell you this.
- 19:16Speaker 4: When Tennessee in 1990 lost to Alabama, I was thinking
- 19:20Speaker 4: about this when I was watching. I was with my
- 19:21Speaker 4: grandpa who played for General Nealon in the 1930s. He's
- 19:24Speaker 4: going to cry again.
- 19:25Speaker 1: Cry. Cry. I was watching the game with him. Cry.
- 19:29Speaker 1: I was watching the game with him.
- 19:31Speaker 4: Tennessee was supposed to beat Alabama.
- 19:32Speaker 1: They didn't ever beat Alabama when I was a kid.
- 19:34Speaker 4: And 1990... Tennessee was trying to field goal.
- 19:39Speaker 1: It got blocked.
- 19:41Speaker 4: Alabama recovered and made a field goal to win 9-6.
- 19:44Speaker 4: And I cried after that game. And I was at
- 19:49Speaker 4: my grandpa's house. in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Red Bank, to be specific.
- 19:55Speaker 4: And he was so disappointed in me that I cried
- 19:58Speaker 4: about a team, about Tennessee losing. And he said, you know,
- 20:02Speaker 4: you don't cry about losing football games. But I'm probably
- 20:05Speaker 4: going to cry here. When Tennessee, when that kick was
- 20:08Speaker 4: not good, and then Tennessee made the kick to win,
- 20:12Speaker 4: I thought back to being 11 years old. And I
- 20:18Speaker 4: felt like it was almost like cosmic and karmic justice
- 20:22Speaker 4: that Tennessee made that kick after Alabama missed it. It
- 20:24Speaker 4: took me back to being 11 years old in my
- 20:27Speaker 4: grandpa's house in Red Bank, Tennessee, who played for General
- 20:31Speaker 4: Neal in the 1930s.
- 20:33Speaker 1: What a fucking win. Unbelievable. Cigars are next. Yes, definitely. Clay,
- 20:41Speaker 1: you were– how about that? Oh, the emotions. The emotions. Wow.
- 20:47Speaker 1: I mean, Clay's got three sons. Yeah. I think he
- 20:51Speaker 1: may have traded one of them in for that win.
- 20:52Speaker 1: I'm kidding.
- 20:53Speaker 2: He loves his sons. Of course we know Clay. Clay,
- 20:56Speaker 2: we know you love your sons more than the win
- 20:58Speaker 2: over Alabama. But I will say, in moments like that,
- 21:02Speaker 2: if you're a fan of a school, and I was
- 21:04Speaker 2: right there with him that night, there is an emotional
- 21:07Speaker 2: crossover there. Of euphoria. That's very rare. Alan Bean, who
- 21:12Speaker 2: was there that night, we're probably going to go see
- 21:14Speaker 2: him tomorrow at tailgating. We're going to go see him
- 21:16Speaker 2: inside the stadium.
- 21:17Speaker 1: Absolutely will.
- 21:18Speaker 2: He, in fact, has said, bring me Hutton because I
- 21:21Speaker 2: want to recreate 2022.
- 21:23Speaker 1: Bring it on.
- 21:24Speaker 2: And Lutz reminds us, one of his sons is an
- 21:26Speaker 2: Alabama fan. That's the son who would have been traded
- 21:28Speaker 2: for that win had Clay wanted to trade a son,
- 21:30Speaker 2: no doubt.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Yep.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Alan Bean wants to run it back with 2022 with you.
- 21:36Speaker 2: But there was a game even in 2015 where Tennessee
- 21:38Speaker 2: comes from behind against Georgia and beat Georgia and Mark Richt.
- 21:42Speaker 2: And I remember me and Alan Bean leaving the stadium.
- 21:45Speaker 1: Because it was so euphoric. They were dead. They were gone.
- 21:48Speaker 2: They were down 21-3 or 24-3 or whatever it was.
- 21:51Speaker 2: They come back and win. It's moments like that you'll
- 21:53Speaker 2: always remember.
- 21:54Speaker 1: See, I got the vibe that year that Tennessee was
- 21:58Speaker 1: going to win the game because everybody was saying, is
- 22:00Speaker 1: this the year? We've got the team. You've got Hooker.
- 22:03Speaker 1: He's on a run. He's playing great. You've got the
- 22:06Speaker 1: receiving core that's able to– you have some alphas in
- 22:08Speaker 1: the receiving core. You have some speed in the receiving core.
- 22:10Speaker 1: You have an offensive line that's protecting the quarterback. There
- 22:13Speaker 1: were things that you saw that you were like, they
- 22:15Speaker 1: can keep up and attract me. They really can. Can
- 22:17Speaker 1: the defense hold them? The answer was no, but Alabama's
- 22:21Speaker 1: defense couldn't stop them either. It was a classic. I
- 22:23Speaker 1: don't get the sense there's that same belief this year.
- 22:26Speaker 1: Going into the game, I don't hear a lot of sense.
- 22:30Speaker 1: We got a chance to be a college football playoff legit.
- 22:32Speaker 1: Not just a contender, but we'll be in it after
- 22:34Speaker 1: this game on Sunday. I don't hear that. So I'm
- 22:38Speaker 1: not feeling the buzz like I was in 2022. I
- 22:40Speaker 1: want to. I just don't think it's not comparable. That's
- 22:44Speaker 1: why Allenby probably doesn't want me to come break the streak. Well,
- 22:46Speaker 1: and look, I'll say it in this way, and this
- 22:48Speaker 1: is why you're not hearing that. Tennessee has lost their
- 22:50Speaker 1: identity under Josh Hyde. Let's be real about it.
- 22:53Speaker 2: 21-22, Tennessee fans felt confident because they said, a year ago,
- 22:59Speaker 2: we scored with everyone. And we exceeded expectations. Coming off
- 23:04Speaker 2: NCAA sanctions left by Jeremy Pruitt.
- 23:06Speaker 1: Right. Everything else.
- 23:07Speaker 2: But they were going to score points. They were going
- 23:08Speaker 2: to go for it on fourth down. 2022 was the
- 23:11Speaker 2: perfect mix of everything. Opportunistic defense. And they had an
- 23:15Speaker 2: offense that was going to go for it. They were
- 23:17Speaker 2: going to step on your throat.
- 23:18Speaker 1: You're right.
- 23:18Speaker 2: They were going to go deep. And then what happens? 23,
- 23:22Speaker 2: they're sort of mid everywhere. They're a good team, but
- 23:25Speaker 2: not great. 24, they got a great defense. They got
- 23:28Speaker 2: a pedestrian offense. 25, they got a great offense and
- 23:32Speaker 2: a terrible defense. It's a seesaw effect. What do we
- 23:35Speaker 2: have in 2026? Pedestrian offense.
- 23:37Speaker 1: Another quarterback, yeah, you're right.
- 23:39Speaker 2: We got Josh Heupel kicking a 51-yard field goal on
- 23:42Speaker 2: 4th and 1 against Arkansas.
- 23:45Speaker 1: And hooking it, right? Yeah.
- 23:47Speaker 2: You've got all these different things where it's Josh Heupel
- 23:52Speaker 2: that smoked that damn cigar when they beat Alabama. And
- 23:56Speaker 2: was so happy in that game. That's the Josh Heifel
- 23:59Speaker 2: Tennessee needs tomorrow.
- 24:00Speaker 1: If they're going to win.
- 24:01Speaker 2: He's got to bring back that we're playing with house money.
- 24:05Speaker 2: We're going for it. We're not afraid. We got the horses.
- 24:08Speaker 2: We've got the offense. That mentality needs to return at
- 24:12Speaker 2: some point for Tennessee to win a big football game
- 24:14Speaker 2: like this.
- 24:15Speaker 1: I think that needs to return in spots. In spots though.
- 24:19Speaker 1: Have those ready. But don't feel like you have to
- 24:21Speaker 1: pull it out. You don't have to because you're a defense.
- 24:23Speaker 1: You're right. That's right. You don't. Have it ready, though.
- 24:25Speaker 1: He's got to be willing to pull the trigger, and
- 24:27Speaker 1: so does George McIntyre. But on fourth and two, don't
- 24:29Speaker 1: kick a 51-yard field goal. I totally agree with that.
- 24:31Speaker 1: I don't care if you run it. Figure out a
- 24:33Speaker 1: way to get the first down and go for it.
- 24:35Speaker 1: Do you think we see Faison Brandon tomorrow? Yes. That's
- 24:38Speaker 1: another part of this. I do. Is how do you
- 24:40Speaker 1: use him? The way this news story has gone out
- 24:44Speaker 1: all week with, oh, Brent Hubbs had the report on purpose.
- 24:48Speaker 1: You know, you've got the report where Hubbs is like,
- 24:50Speaker 1: I'm hearing that he's much more involved in practice. After
- 24:54Speaker 1: being an emergency quarterback last week, that's a huge jump.
- 24:58Speaker 1: I think he's not going to start, but he's going
- 25:00Speaker 1: to play. I think three players will take snaps for
- 25:02Speaker 1: Tennessee tomorrow. Okay. Okay. George McIntyre. Yeah.
- 25:06Speaker 2: Faison Brandon and Mike Matthews. I think all three. I
- 25:10Speaker 2: think Mike Matthews, they showed them that look against Arkansas late,
- 25:13Speaker 2: right before they scored the go-ahead touchdown, where they went
- 25:16Speaker 2: direct snap to Mike Matthews. I think at least three.
- 25:19Speaker 2: I think you could see a fourth player take a
- 25:21Speaker 2: snap tomorrow.
- 25:22Speaker 1: It's that type of game. It's a big football game.
- 25:25Speaker 2: You don't have to play outside yourself and play like
- 25:28Speaker 2: you're crazy, but you need to play like you're confident
- 25:31Speaker 2: and you're.
- 25:31Speaker 1: Going to go score points. And maybe the conservative aspect
- 25:34Speaker 1: has been setting this up a bit. Yep. You know,
- 25:36Speaker 1: with the play call and the sheet.
- 25:37Speaker 2: What we say in 2022 is like holding serve. A
- 25:40Speaker 2: touchdown was just, oh, well, they held serve. Oh, Bryce
- 25:43Speaker 2: Young just hit another pass. Alabama held serve. It was
- 25:46Speaker 2: so back and forth, you felt like a stop or
- 25:49Speaker 2: two was going to win it. Because everyone was scoring
- 25:52Speaker 2: back and forth.
- 25:52Speaker 1: And it came down to a kick. So, yep, one
- 25:54Speaker 1: stop could have done it. Chad, coming up, Ellie Mae
- 25:57Speaker 1: Williams is going to join us from Sporting State. And
- 25:59Speaker 1: we get a vibe. She's a Tennessee grad. We'll get
- 26:01Speaker 1: a Tennessee check. She knows the rivalry.
- 26:03Speaker 2: She understands it. She's the daughter of a football coach.
- 26:06Speaker 2: We're going to talk about some of the history between
- 26:08Speaker 2: these two teams.
- 26:09Speaker 1: She's going to know this. I want to know the
- 26:10Speaker 1: football player that's most popular on campus. She's not on
- 26:14Speaker 1: campus anymore. I know, but she would know. Okay. She
- 26:17Speaker 1: would know. And I don't think it's the freshman. It's
- 26:20Speaker 1: not the highly recruited one. I don't know who it
- 26:22Speaker 1: would be. I have a guess. We'll save it. Let's
- 26:26Speaker 1: do it. We'll save it. Hey, this is Dixieland Delight
- 26:29Speaker 1: Friday Night Chat. Wagon Wheel, we're in your second city. Yeah, yeah.
- 26:33Speaker 1: This is our second home. Wagon Wheel is amazing. Old City.
- 26:36Speaker 2: Mark Jernigan, the owner, has been very kind to us
- 26:38Speaker 2: over the years. We love this spot. Great country bar
- 26:41Speaker 2: in the Old City. They're playing country music behind us.
- 26:45Speaker 2: It's Tennessee, Alabama. The leaves reflect the colors on the field.
- 26:49Speaker 2: We got both home uniforms being worn tomorrow. We're listening
- 26:52Speaker 2: to country music.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Oh, that's right. We're talking ball tonight. Doesn't get any
- 26:55Speaker 1: better than this. Dixieland Delight to continue the ride on this.
- 26:58Speaker 1: Stay tuned. We're back. It is Dixieland Delight Friday night
- 27:02Speaker 1: here on Sport and State at sportandstate.com. YouTube channel at
- 27:06Speaker 1: Hutton and Withrow. Glad you're with us. Football season is here.
- 27:09Speaker 1: Third Saturday in October coming up. The eve has arrived.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Ellie Mae Williamson with us as well here just off
- 27:16Speaker 1: campus at Wagon Wheel. Good to see you.
- 27:18Speaker 3: Thanks. Thanks for having me, y'all.
- 27:20Speaker 1: I'm excited to be here. So I was asking a
- 27:21Speaker 1: question to Chad. He's got to guess the most popular
- 27:24Speaker 1: football player on campus. Normally it's the quarterback. It's not
- 27:27Speaker 1: that right now. It's... There's not an obvious answer, I
- 27:31Speaker 1: don't think. You would know this just based on the
- 27:34Speaker 1: fact that you know the team, you know the friends
- 27:37Speaker 1: that are on campus right now.
- 27:39Speaker 5: I would have to go with either Deshaun Bishop or
- 27:41Speaker 5: Arion Carter. And a hot take, Xavier Gillum.
- 27:45Speaker 1: Oh, okay. He's the best player on the team.
- 27:47Speaker 3: I would say so.
- 27:48Speaker 5: And the funny thing about him is he actually didn't
- 27:49Speaker 5: start playing football until his junior year of high school.
- 27:52Speaker 5: So for him to come onto a college campus without
- 27:55Speaker 5: much of a recruiting experience or fans getting to know.
- 27:57Speaker 3: Who he was.
- 27:59Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 28:00Speaker 3: He's exploded.
- 28:01Speaker 2: It's pretty amazing when you see L.A. made the amount
- 28:04Speaker 2: of transfers to Tennessee that have hit immediately. Xavier Gilliam,
- 28:09Speaker 2: Quay Moss. It would be weird to say the big
- 28:13Speaker 2: man on campus is the guy who's been here for
- 28:15Speaker 2: five months or however long they've been here, six months.
- 28:17Speaker 2: But those two guys have been big-time contributors. Deshaun Bishop's
- 28:21Speaker 2: good answer. Arion Carter with what he's doing for cancer
- 28:23Speaker 2: research also.
- 28:24Speaker 1: They've covered that.
- 28:25Speaker 3: That's what I would say.
- 28:26Speaker 1: Pretty popular guys, right?
- 28:27Speaker 3: For sure.
- 28:28Speaker 5: I think those are the top three, though. Xavier, honestly, McIntyre, though, too.
- 28:32Speaker 5: I mean, you can't say a quarterback.
- 28:34Speaker 1: After tomorrow, he could be.
- 28:35Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, you've got to look at your quarterback
- 28:37Speaker 5: as somebody that's going to be leading your offense. So
- 28:39Speaker 5: I would say George, even though he really hasn't much,
- 28:41Speaker 5: many snaps and much time, I still want to.
- 28:44Speaker 3: Go with the quarterback answer.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Chad, do you think you'll go with McIntyre? I would
- 28:49Speaker 1: not yet.
- 28:51Speaker 2: I will say if George McIntyre wins this game tomorrow,
- 28:54Speaker 2: I will run on the field and kiss him on
- 28:56Speaker 2: the mouth.
- 28:57Speaker 1: So then he would definitely be the most popular guy.
- 29:00Speaker 2: This is, and you wrote about this, I know also,
- 29:03Speaker 2: the rivalry between these two teams. I was watching Dave
- 29:06Speaker 2: Portnoy at Barstool. questioning Casey Smith about Tennessee and Alabama.
- 29:10Speaker 1: People hate each other. I didn't even know that. He
- 29:12Speaker 1: didn't even realize it was a big rival.
- 29:14Speaker 2: But the history between the two teams, third Saturday in October,
- 29:18Speaker 2: Ellie Mae, you've written about it.
- 29:20Speaker 1: It's a pretty cool experience.
- 29:21Speaker 5: Yeah, and this is a story too that not many
- 29:23Speaker 5: people know about. The cigars are something that you have
- 29:27Speaker 5: to do. Winner has to do it. It doesn't matter
- 29:30Speaker 5: what it is. You've got to smoke the cigar afterwards.
- 29:32Speaker 5: I actually had the opportunity to work with Legends of Tennessee,
- 29:34Speaker 5: which is Jabari Davis and a lot of other VFLs
- 29:37Speaker 5: who have gone together and they started a VFL cigar
- 29:41Speaker 5: that was smoked on the 2022 year after Tennessee had
- 29:46Speaker 5: that 15.
- 29:47Speaker 3: Winless streak that they had. And so.
- 29:51Speaker 5: I was very familiar with that story.
- 29:53Speaker 3: Trust me.
- 29:53Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 29:53Speaker 5: I mean, the stadium looked like it was on fire
- 29:55Speaker 5: just from the cigar smoke. So it's one of those
- 29:57Speaker 5: like Southern delicacies and traditions that has been carried on
- 30:00Speaker 5: through many generations. And the story of it all. So
- 30:04Speaker 5: I was always familiar with cigars and, you know, smoking
- 30:06Speaker 5: them after when, whatever, but the story of it, I
- 30:09Speaker 5: was like, there's gotta be an origin.
- 30:10Speaker 3: There's gotta be something.
- 30:11Speaker 5: And after a few research, I found something on ESPN
- 30:14Speaker 5: about an Alabama trainer. And so I was like, okay,
- 30:19Speaker 5: I'm going to dig deeper here. I couldn't, Sadly, the
- 30:22Speaker 5: man passed away, Jim Bustry. But I was like, I
- 30:25Speaker 5: am going to find a son. I'm going to reach out.
- 30:28Speaker 5: We were playing phone tag back and forth all this
- 30:30Speaker 5: week and reached out to him. We had a long
- 30:32Speaker 5: conversation just about where it all started and what he
- 30:35Speaker 5: remembers from it.
- 30:37Speaker 3: So here we go. History lesson here. trainer actually graduated
- 30:43Speaker 3: from Tennessee. So he's a Tennessee graduate.
- 30:46Speaker 5: He was the trainer under Mickey O'Brien and General Neeland way,
- 30:51Speaker 5: way back in the day. And he was also a
- 30:53Speaker 5: Letterman golfer. So he was a student athlete at Tennessee.
- 30:56Speaker 5: Left after that final year with General Neeland and moved
- 31:01Speaker 5: to Clarksville, started high school athletics and started raising a family.
- 31:04Speaker 5: And then sure enough, the athletic director at Alabama called
- 31:07Speaker 5: up O'Brien and was like.
- 31:08Speaker 3: Hey, I need somebody to come and play.
- 31:10Speaker 1: As Rocky Top plays.
- 31:11Speaker 3: As Rocky Top plays.
- 31:12Speaker 1: Perfect serenade for the story.
- 31:13Speaker 5: And I would just like to say, this is a
- 31:14Speaker 5: song about just for Tennessee. Now, let's get into that later.
- 31:18Speaker 5: Dixieland lies is a song about Tennessee.
- 31:20Speaker 1: Must discuss.
- 31:23Speaker 5: I will die on that hill. If there's one hill
- 31:25Speaker 5: I will die on, I will die on that hill.
- 31:27Speaker 5: Rocky Top's great, but Dixieland Delight is our song. So anyways, yeah,
- 31:32Speaker 5: Mickey O'Brien calls, gets a call from the athletic director
- 31:35Speaker 5: of Alabama and is like, we need somebody to come
- 31:38Speaker 5: and we need a trainer here. Who do you recommend?
- 31:40Speaker 5: And of course, Gushere gets the call. So he picks
- 31:43Speaker 5: up his entire family, his family of three and his
- 31:45Speaker 5: son I talked to on the phone. He told me,
- 31:48Speaker 5: you know, we moved in 1957, and we were there.
- 31:52Speaker 5: So he was there for Earsworth. Last year of Earsworth,
- 31:57Speaker 5: I think that's– I think it was either Earlworth, Earsworth.
- 32:00Speaker 3: Something like that.
- 32:00Speaker 5: But, yeah, was there for his last year, and those
- 32:03Speaker 5: were tough times for Alabama.
- 32:05Speaker 3: Really tough times.
- 32:06Speaker 5: We thought it was bad, like, going into 22, losing
- 32:08Speaker 5: as much, but, like, that was Bama back during that time.
- 32:11Speaker 5: This is right before the legendary Bear Bryant comes in
- 32:15Speaker 5: and saves Alabama.
- 32:15Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:16Speaker 3: You're over here like you're right.
- 32:19Speaker 1: No, I don't know. It's what you live through, right?
- 32:24Speaker 1: If you don't beat Bama, you don't remember ever seeing him.
- 32:25Speaker 2: Well, and it's also, it's so different now, I think,
- 32:29Speaker 2: for this generation. Because, you know, even growing up, it
- 32:32Speaker 2: was like you had these heroes that were from the
- 32:35Speaker 2: states they represented. You know, the great Tennesseans. Phillip Fulmer
- 32:40Speaker 2: played at Tennessee and coached Tennessee. He turned down an
- 32:43Speaker 2: offer from Bear Bryant to go to Knoxville, which is
- 32:46Speaker 2: a big deal. He was on the state line at
- 32:47Speaker 2: Winchester in Franklin County where he was from. You had
- 32:51Speaker 2: so many stories like that of interconnected players that ended
- 32:54Speaker 2: up going to their state school.
- 32:57Speaker 1: Now it's much more mercenary-like. Right?
- 33:00Speaker 2: Like, hey, we got guys from Penn State that have
- 33:02Speaker 2: no connection to Tennessee until they got here that are
- 33:04Speaker 2: balling out for the Vols.
- 33:06Speaker 1: And that's fine, too. It's just different. So I do
- 33:09Speaker 1: think the educational aspect of it is important. Yeah. So
- 33:12Speaker 1: make sure these folks know about what they're getting into.
- 33:15Speaker 1: Because Florida was the big rival.
- 33:17Speaker 3: Yes, yeah.
- 33:18Speaker 1: Because Saban wasn't in Bama.
- 33:19Speaker 3: Yes.
- 33:20Speaker 1: You know, and then Saban got there in 2007 and
- 33:21Speaker 1: changed that. Yeah. And then it became Bama again. Yeah.
- 33:25Speaker 1: And I think if you ask The generation behind us,
- 33:29Speaker 1: they would say Bama as the biggest rival. Yeah, for sure.
- 33:31Speaker 1: The players, though, always say Bama. Yeah. Oh, for sure.
- 33:34Speaker 2: For me, it's Bama. I mean, and I'm not that
- 33:37Speaker 2: old yet, knock on wood. There's wood over here.
- 33:40Speaker 3: Well, Ryan McGee even said it today.
- 33:42Speaker 5: We had a media opportunity with him during SEC Nation
- 33:46Speaker 5: while they're here tomorrow. And he had just said, like,
- 33:49Speaker 5: in this day and age of college football, you try
- 33:51Speaker 5: and create so many different rivalries just based off of, like,
- 33:53Speaker 5: who went and got my head coach. If you look
- 33:55Speaker 5: at Ole Miss and LSU, like, no one would have
- 33:57Speaker 5: ever thought those two schools would become rivalries. And that
- 34:00Speaker 5: game would have so much built-up hate. going into it. But, like,
- 34:04Speaker 5: that's just where we are in college football right now.
- 34:05Speaker 5: You look at the transfer portal, like you mentioned, like,
- 34:08Speaker 5: these guys don't really know the history behind these traditions.
- 34:11Speaker 5: And so, like, with the Legends of Tennessee, with programs
- 34:14Speaker 5: and DFLs and the guys that are pouring back into
- 34:16Speaker 5: these schools after they leave, I think that's super important
- 34:19Speaker 5: to keep those traditions alive, to keep the game more human,
- 34:22Speaker 5: more pure.
- 34:23Speaker 3: I don't... It's one thing to watch a college football game,
- 34:25Speaker 3: but it's another thing to.
- 34:26Speaker 5: Watch it against your rival and to know the history
- 34:30Speaker 5: and the story behind it.
- 34:31Speaker 3: It's completely different.
- 34:33Speaker 2: So great job at Texas OU last week. What do
- 34:35Speaker 2: you have planned for sport and state tomorrow getting ready
- 34:38Speaker 2: for the game?
- 34:39Speaker 5: Yeah, so tomorrow we're going to SEC Nation. I'll be
- 34:42Speaker 5: there bright and early, so I'll be around. I'll be
- 34:44Speaker 5: looking for fans. I'll be grabbing different stuff, different types
- 34:47Speaker 5: of content ideas. We're going to be doing some fun interviews.
- 34:50Speaker 5: I think they're really going to enjoy some of these questions.
- 34:52Speaker 5: I'm not going to give it.
- 34:53Speaker 3: Away on the live.
- 34:54Speaker 1: No, no, no, don't do that.
- 34:55Speaker 5: I want these unique live reactions when I meet these people. But, yeah,
- 34:58Speaker 5: just kind of getting some stories behind who they think
- 35:02Speaker 5: in college football is thriving, their different rivalry stories, stuff
- 35:05Speaker 5: like that, some pure old-fashioned hate.
- 35:08Speaker 1: Have you smoked a cigar before?
- 35:09Speaker 3: I have never smoked a cigar.
- 35:11Speaker 1: That's a good video.
- 35:11Speaker 3: I have never smoked a cigar. And honestly, I don't
- 35:15Speaker 3: know if I.
- 35:16Speaker 1: You coughing on a cigar would be good. You have
- 35:17Speaker 1: to do that tomorrow if they win. Yeah, you're a
- 35:19Speaker 1: UT grad. You got to do it.
- 35:21Speaker 3: I honestly should. I should have done it in 22.
- 35:23Speaker 1: I just.
- 35:23Speaker 3: I didn't want to cough in front of everyone. I
- 35:26Speaker 3: was like, maybe I'll practice tonight. I don't know. Like,
- 35:29Speaker 3: I'll do a practice run.
- 35:30Speaker 1: There are so many people who have it. I mean,
- 35:32Speaker 1: the players have it either, by the way.
- 35:33Speaker 3: That is true.
- 35:34Speaker 5: That is very true. Well, so back to the cigar story, though.
- 35:37Speaker 5: Where it all came from.
- 35:38Speaker 1: So.
- 35:39Speaker 5: Fourth year of Paul Bear Bryant being the head coach,
- 35:42Speaker 5: he comes into Tennessee.
- 35:44Speaker 3: And as a college trainer, your job is to be.
- 35:48Speaker 5: That hype man at 6 in the morning on a
- 35:52Speaker 5: road game, whatever it is. But he comes in. It's
- 35:54Speaker 5: been 13 years since Alabama has won against Tennessee.
- 36:00Speaker 3: And so.
- 36:01Speaker 5: He comes in there to the locker room right before
- 36:03Speaker 5: he leaves, and he's like, guys, before we get on
- 36:06Speaker 5: this bus, I just want to let you all know,
- 36:07Speaker 5: if y'all beat Tennessee, I will dance.
- 36:09Speaker 3: Around this locker room naked, butt naked, nothing on.
- 36:13Speaker 5: And these guys are like, oh, yeah. I don't know
- 36:15Speaker 5: how that hypes up, a group of guys, but it
- 36:18Speaker 5: is what it is. He was really putting himself out
- 36:20Speaker 5: there for the team.
- 36:21Speaker 1: Really, literally. And then they did, and then they decided–
- 36:25Speaker 1: We're going to smoke cigars.
- 36:27Speaker 5: Well, his son was like, I remember my dad, you know,
- 36:33Speaker 5: That's why I told Coach Bryant, just like, if we win, like,
- 36:36Speaker 5: I'll get cigars and we'll pass them out.
- 36:38Speaker 3: So he went to a convenience store right before they
- 36:40Speaker 3: got on the bus, went to a convenience store, went
- 36:42Speaker 3: back to the hotel.
- 36:43Speaker 5: And his son was telling me, like, I remember watching
- 36:45Speaker 5: my dad pack those cigars in his bag before he left.
- 36:48Speaker 3: These, like, convenience store, old school, they're probably really good.
- 36:52Speaker 3: Just from, like, day and age that they were.
- 36:54Speaker 1: In, 1961. I mean. I'm sure some Cuban probably rolled
- 36:57Speaker 1: that thing for him.
- 36:58Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 37:00Speaker 1: No doubt.
- 37:01Speaker 3: I mean, at that point, yeah.
- 37:01Speaker 1: I'm going to say what this man is as a
- 37:03Speaker 1: Tennessee grad. Everybody can look it up.
- 37:06Speaker 2: This man's a charlatan. That's who that man is. I
- 37:09Speaker 2: do not respect him. I do like the tradition of
- 37:11Speaker 2: the cigars, but Mr.
- 37:13Speaker 1: Goostery, zero respect for you as a Tennessee grad to
- 37:16Speaker 1: start the tradition on behalf of Alabama. I love it.
- 37:20Speaker 3: But, hey, it'll be really nice if Tennessee gets to
- 37:22Speaker 3: smoke them tomorrow.
- 37:23Speaker 1: It's a good tradition.
- 37:24Speaker 3: We can always say, yeah, we had them first. Who's
- 37:26Speaker 3: a Tennessee grad?
- 37:27Speaker 2: Yes.
- 37:27Speaker 5: Like, that's all that matters. At the end of the day,
- 37:29Speaker 5: his degree came from the University of Tennessee. He learned
- 37:31Speaker 5: what he learned to help that Alabama program.
- 37:35Speaker 1: Check out the Sports Day Socials tomorrow for all of
- 37:37Speaker 1: LMA's content. It'll be great. And maybe we see the
- 37:39Speaker 1: cigar tutorial.
- 37:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 37:40Speaker 1: Could be. Yeah, that's right. Good to see you.
- 37:42Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 37:43Speaker 1: Chad, coming up, we can hear your picks. And we
- 37:46Speaker 1: need to check on some scores, too, with your hardware block.
- 37:49Speaker 1: I'm looking at Tulane running a touchdown right now. Oh, wait, really? Oh,
- 37:52Speaker 1: I didn't look. Don't you trash talk my green wave
- 37:55Speaker 1: just yet. We're not dead yet, baby.
- 37:57Speaker 3: Memphis looks good this year.
- 37:58Speaker 1: Look at this.
- 37:58Speaker 3: They looked great.
- 37:59Speaker 2: We got a score of interest, green wave 13, Memphis 10.
- 38:04Speaker 1: Four minutes left in the first half. No, it's too
- 38:07Speaker 1: late either. Here we go. You're getting six and a
- 38:08Speaker 1: half as well. Here we go. Hard Rock, the man knows.
- 38:10Speaker 1: He's 14-1 on Friday nights. About to be 15-1. Yeah,
- 38:14Speaker 1: let's go. Dixieland Delight Friday night rolls. Dixieland Delight Friday
- 38:20Speaker 1: night presented by Hard Rock Bet. Sportingstate.com. Thanks for tuning
- 38:24Speaker 1: in tonight. We're getting ready for coverage tomorrow from Sporting
- 38:27Speaker 1: State from Tennessee, Alabama. We are in Knoxville, Tennessee, and
- 38:33Speaker 1: it's a big game. We're going to the big game.
- 38:34Speaker 1: Huge game. Each and every Friday night, giving you the vibe.
- 38:37Speaker 1: We're at Wagon Wheel. They open just whenever we start
- 38:41Speaker 1: the show. And things are about to crank up.
- 38:43Speaker 2: It's filling up already. We've got a good crowd behind us.
- 38:47Speaker 2: Great spot if you're coming in town for a Tennessee
- 38:49Speaker 2: game in the Old City.
- 38:50Speaker 1: Yep.
- 38:51Speaker 2: Lute's got to experience the Old City for the Texas
- 38:53Speaker 2: game for the first time. Very unique spot. Feels at
- 38:57Speaker 2: times like you're almost in New Orleans.
- 38:58Speaker 1: Yes. When you walk around the streets. I agree. It's
- 39:01Speaker 1: very old. It's shocking. Old.
- 39:05Speaker 2: Old buildings in the old city. Great spot to come
- 39:08Speaker 2: hang out before a Tennessee game. We're excited to be here, Hutton,
- 39:10Speaker 2: and we're getting pumped up for tomorrow.
- 39:12Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 39:13Speaker 1: Absolutely. So right now at Hard Rock Bet, you can
- 39:16Speaker 1: go to hardrock.bet.com. You've got the opportunity to take advantage.

- 39:24Speaker 1: By signing up right now. at hardrock.bet slash clay. That's

- 39:32Speaker 2: They know the drill. Get here a little bit later
- 39:33Speaker 2: to start. You know, later start tomorrow, they're.
- 39:35Speaker 1: Good to go. If you've got a play on Coastal
- 39:38Speaker 1: Carolina and Appy State right now, game just tied second quarter,
- 39:43Speaker 1: early second quarter, 14 all there. And Chad, his hard
- 39:46Speaker 1: rock lock of the week. It's going to come through.
- 39:49Speaker 1: It always does on Friday nights. Ooh, throwing across the body.
- 39:52Speaker 1: What just happened, Chad? He's up 13-10. You normally don't
- 39:53Speaker 1: want to do that.
- 39:53Speaker 2: I think we're going to get hit with a holding
- 39:55Speaker 2: call on Tulane, but about a 20-yard pickup. Tulane driving
- 39:59Speaker 2: up 13-10. Two-minute timeout in the first half, but I
- 40:04Speaker 2: think this.
- 40:04Speaker 1: One's going to be coming back. Keep in mind he's
- 40:06Speaker 1: getting six and a half points on this as well.
- 40:08Speaker 1: I don't like the carelessness of the quarterback, though, throwing
- 40:10Speaker 1: across the body. He's feeling it.
- 40:11Speaker 2: That one should have been picked by Memphis. We're now
- 40:14Speaker 2: in the mode of, oh, we got defensive holding.
- 40:18Speaker 1: Declined. Tulane Greenwave on the move, baby. Here we go.
- 40:21Speaker 1: Josh Heifel's not making that play call. You know what's
- 40:23Speaker 1: going to be great?
- 40:24Speaker 2: I hope a lot of people are watching this on
- 40:26Speaker 2: Saturday morning when they wake up to go ready for games.
- 40:29Speaker 2: People who see their YouTube alerts, you know, over the
- 40:33Speaker 2: thousands of people who follow us on YouTube get the alert.
- 40:36Speaker 1: They go watch it.
- 40:37Speaker 2: And they just sit and mock me for how excited
- 40:39Speaker 2: I am right now. Look at Whitrow so excited about Tulane,
- 40:42Speaker 2: a team who eventually lost by 28 when it happens.
- 40:46Speaker 1: And I'm like, look how giddy he is over this.
- 40:48Speaker 1: And then you say, I was 14-1 on Friday night. Yeah. Sorry, guys,
- 40:52Speaker 1: I'm 14-2. Earlier this morning I told LT, we're going
- 40:56Speaker 1: through the guys from Dexter Out Live, I told LT
- 40:59Speaker 1: that Ryan Brown, I'm like, he's going, his lock of
- 41:02Speaker 1: the week, by the way, guys, is Tulane plus six
- 41:04Speaker 1: and a half. And LT was like, oh, it's like, what?
- 41:06Speaker 1: He's like, I don't know. It's like coming out of
- 41:09Speaker 1: his skin. Yeah, he's like, I think I'll go the
- 41:10Speaker 1: other way. I said, well, he's, and I said 17-1.
- 41:12Speaker 1: I said, 14-1 on Friday night. He goes, oh, I
- 41:14Speaker 1: guess I'm going to flip it and just probably chat. Yeah,
- 41:16Speaker 1: it's a heat check.
- 41:18Speaker 2: This is me stepping a foot back, guy in my face,
- 41:21Speaker 2: and I'm going to shoot another three to see if
- 41:23Speaker 2: it's my night. This might be my season on Friday night, Sutton.
- 41:26Speaker 2: It looks that way so far.
- 41:28Speaker 1: Chad, my vibe, and Alan Bean's not going to like
- 41:29Speaker 1: this tomorrow when I tell him because I was going
- 41:32Speaker 1: into the game in 2022, last time I saw him
- 41:34Speaker 1: here at Neyland Stadium. I said, Tennessee's going to win
- 41:37Speaker 1: the game. And I was adamant about it. You felt
- 41:38Speaker 1: really good about it. I did. I don't feel it
- 41:40Speaker 1: this year. I don't. There's not the confidence level from
- 41:43Speaker 1: the fans. There's not the vibe. There are guys that
- 41:45Speaker 1: we know that are talking about us being here, but
- 41:48Speaker 1: they're not here. They chose to drive back to Birmingham
- 41:52Speaker 1: or they chose to stay in Nashville. And I'm thinking, oh,
- 41:54Speaker 1: that's not a good sign because they'd rather– watch alone
- 41:58Speaker 1: in their room like Chad does. In these games, you
- 42:02Speaker 1: would normally want to watch this alone, true or false. Oh, yeah,
- 42:04Speaker 1: for sure. Like tomorrow, yeah. I may at some point tomorrow, too.
- 42:07Speaker 1: The day is young. Well, that's fair. Yeah. But I'm thinking, like,
- 42:11Speaker 1: we will be in a great spot tomorrow, but the
- 42:13Speaker 1: vibe is, hey, I need to watch this alone so
- 42:15Speaker 1: I don't get angry at anybody. You know what I mean?
- 42:18Speaker 1: I mean, the vibe going into.
- 42:18Speaker 2: This game is, and I think Josh Heupel's done a
- 42:21Speaker 2: great job at Tennessee, but the vibe to me is
- 42:24Speaker 2: Josh Heupel has lost his edge. He doesn't go for
- 42:27Speaker 2: it when he should anymore. He's lost his aggression. And
- 42:30Speaker 2: we're coming off a game where Kalen DeBoer is being
- 42:33Speaker 2: worshipped by Alabama fans for what? Going full Nick Saban
- 42:38Speaker 2: on a player and saying, your dumb ass lost the
- 42:40Speaker 2: game for us. They loved it. They loved it. They're saying,
- 42:45Speaker 2: we got our Saban back.
- 42:46Speaker 1: You know what?
- 42:47Speaker 2: This is our guy. He is embarrassing this guy on
- 42:51Speaker 2: national TV. He's embarrassing a player. He's our dude. We
- 42:55Speaker 2: love him. They wanted to see that fire. They got
- 42:58Speaker 2: that fire.
- 42:58Speaker 1: Saban would have won the game. He coached his balls
- 43:01Speaker 1: off in that game. He did.
- 43:02Speaker 2: I mean, look, I think it's just a very different
- 43:05Speaker 2: vibe with head coaches. So, again, Hutton, what I will
- 43:08Speaker 2: present is this. I want to see a pop pass
- 43:11Speaker 2: from Faison Brandon to Luka Wolfe. I want to see
- 43:14Speaker 2: Tennessee go for and get a couple big fourth downs
- 43:17Speaker 2: in this game. I want to see some signs of
- 43:20Speaker 2: the old Heupel. I don't want to go back to
- 43:22Speaker 2: not playing defense like Heupel had in the first year
- 43:24Speaker 2: or two, right? I want the defense to remain. I
- 43:27Speaker 2: want you to trust your defense. I want you to
- 43:29Speaker 2: show that you can not play with speed and tempo
- 43:33Speaker 2: and give your defense a better chance. But let's bring
- 43:36Speaker 2: back some of that old aggression that you saw with
- 43:38Speaker 2: Kalen DeBoer last week.
- 43:40Speaker 1: The aggression is the word because Jason Swain came on
- 43:42Speaker 1: the show today. And I said, hey, are you nervous
- 43:44Speaker 1: as a former player? Do you get, like, the good nerves?
- 43:46Speaker 1: Do you still get them going into the analyst room
- 43:49Speaker 1: for Vols Radio Network? And he said, no, I'm pissed off.
- 43:52Speaker 1: Because I hate this team that's coming in here. I'm
- 43:54Speaker 1: from Huntsville, Alabama. Just like Joey Kent. And he's like,
- 43:56Speaker 1: this means something. They look me over, and I'm still
- 43:59Speaker 1: pissed off. I want to see the players have a
- 44:02Speaker 1: little bit. When you come in with an edge, that
- 44:04Speaker 1: gives you the edge at home. Because the fans are
- 44:06Speaker 1: coming in with that same edge. That's the home field advantage.
- 44:09Speaker 1: Can Tennessee find those guys? I don't know on offense
- 44:11Speaker 1: if they have those guys. You do in the run game,
- 44:14Speaker 1: but Texas shut it down. They need to find that
- 44:17Speaker 1: against a good Alabama defense against the run. And if
- 44:20Speaker 1: they do that, They have a chance to keep this close.
- 44:23Speaker 1: And then it comes down to the quarterback and the
- 44:24Speaker 1: kicker in the fourth quarter.
- 44:26Speaker 2: Yeah, and we heard going into the year this could
- 44:27Speaker 2: be the best offensive line group Josh Heupel's had. They've
- 44:31Speaker 2: not lived up to that hype yet. They need to
- 44:33Speaker 2: deliver in this game. They're going to have to do
- 44:35Speaker 2: that in this game if Tennessee's going to have a chance.
- 44:37Speaker 2: George McIntyre, I think, is seeing the game well. Have
- 44:40Speaker 2: one less turnover.
- 44:42Speaker 1: You know, you're going to turn the ball over at
- 44:43Speaker 1: some point.
- 44:44Speaker 2: Don't have three. I would prefer none, but, you know,
- 44:48Speaker 2: two you might be able to win. One you might win.
- 44:51Speaker 2: Three you're not going to win. Don't have the one
- 44:53Speaker 2: in the fourth quarter.
- 44:54Speaker 1: No. If you just have one. Not in a big moment.
- 44:56Speaker 1: You're right. I'm taking Bama, but right now I'm feeling
- 45:00Speaker 1: like it's a very close game to where they cover.
- 45:02Speaker 1: I think Tennessee covers in this. I just think it's
- 45:04Speaker 1: Bama because of the quarterback in the fourth. I think
- 45:07Speaker 1: they win by four.
- 45:08Speaker 2: Yeah, I've moved throughout the week. I think Tennessee covers.
- 45:12Speaker 2: I do think Bama wins the game. I just think
- 45:14Speaker 2: their offense is quite a bit ahead of Tennessee right now. But, again,
- 45:20Speaker 2: if Josh Heupel returns to form, I believe Tennessee can
- 45:23Speaker 2: win this game at home.
- 45:25Speaker 1: And the clock management is key. That's huge. He needs
- 45:28Speaker 1: to win that battle against Kalen DeBoer if he can.
- 45:31Speaker 1: He hasn't been able to do that in recent matchups.
- 45:33Speaker 1: Not just here, but just across the board. It's not
- 45:36Speaker 1: been his strong suit. Chad, good to have you back
- 45:39Speaker 1: from Florida. It's good to have you back. You have
- 45:41Speaker 1: a nice tan. Thank you. Appreciate it.
- 45:43Speaker 2: I worked hard on this tan, you know. Spent a
- 45:45Speaker 2: lot of hours out on the beach this week saying
- 45:47Speaker 2: I just want to be tan for that Friday night.
- 45:49Speaker 1: You earned it. Dixieland Delight Friday night tour, you know.
- 45:52Speaker 1: What just happened back here?
- 45:54Speaker 2: I was third and seven. Now it's fourth and seven.
- 45:56Speaker 2: We got Tulane kicking a field goal to go up six.
- 45:59Speaker 1: I love this.
- 46:00Speaker 2: Every point counts when you're 14 to one on Friday
- 46:03Speaker 2: night and you're trying to cover six and a hook
- 46:07Speaker 2: and you're taking a six point lead before the half.
- 46:10Speaker 2: Every point counts. I need this kicker for Tulane to
- 46:12Speaker 2: come in and knock this thing right through the upright.
- 46:15Speaker 1: Okay. This guy, is it a high number, Chad? 29 yards.
- 46:20Speaker 1: It's a little close for my liking. I don't like
- 46:22Speaker 1: it when it's this close. He's wearing 35. I don't
- 46:25Speaker 1: like it when it's this close. Come on. It's a
- 46:26Speaker 1: little too close. Oh, my God. Oh. We're good. We're in.
- 46:33Speaker 1: It's his night, ladies and gentlemen. A minute left.
- 46:35Speaker 2: We've got to play some defense. Green Wave has got
- 46:37Speaker 2: to play a little D this final minute. I can't
- 46:40Speaker 2: wait until I get lit up by people that are
- 46:42Speaker 2: telling me after they lose by 35 in the second.
- 46:44Speaker 1: Half how excited I was. Some guy's going to bet
- 46:47Speaker 1: the second half right now.
- 46:48Speaker 3: On Hard Rock.
- 46:48Speaker 2: Oh, how about that six-point lead you had at halftime, huh?
- 46:51Speaker 2: As you lost by 25.
- 46:52Speaker 1: Hey, Dixieland Delight Friday night. Hardrock.bet slash clay is where
- 46:58Speaker 1: you can go right now.
- 46:59Speaker 2: Hey, Wagon Wheel, too. Big thanks to them for hosting us.
- 47:01Speaker 2: Mark Jernigan. Big thanks to Jacob Lutz for delivering it.
- 47:04Speaker 2: He's a one-man band back here.
- 47:06Speaker 1: Yes. Ellie Mae Williamson was great. Fantastic.
- 47:08Speaker 2: A terrific crowd on hand back here. My guy's got
- 47:12Speaker 2: an old-school Duckhead hat on. Haven't seen that in a while.
- 47:15Speaker 2: I used to wear Duckhead. I like the Duckhead hat.
- 47:18Speaker 2: I love the Duckhead hat.
- 47:19Speaker 1: Yeah, it's good. It's great. Throwback. Very nice. He probably
- 47:22Speaker 1: thinks it's a Riley Green hat. I don't think so.
- 47:24Speaker 1: That's Duckhead, right? No, it is. He doesn't even know.
- 47:27Speaker 1: He's not old enough to know. He can't hear me.
- 47:29Speaker 1: He's not old enough to know. I don't know. Riley Green,
- 47:31Speaker 1: by the way, is in Knoxville. We were at one
- 47:34Speaker 1: of his bars today. Yeah, he's going to be on
- 47:35Speaker 1: SEC Nation in the morning. I say one of his bars. Yeah, we–
- 47:39Speaker 1: Shout-out to Wagon Wheel, yes. Let's go find some dinner.
- 47:42Speaker 1: Let's have a night. Let's have a day, shall we? Yes.
