- 1:09[SPEAKER_00]: So, getting into this Jaguar's game again, they won 25 to 3.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_00]: The cold's lost to the Texans, so the Jaguars and the cold's both sit at 8 and 4.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: And the Jaguars have the tiebreaker with the winning percentage against common opponents right now, because the first two tiebreakers had the head and division record are both tied.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_00]: They haven't played each other yet, and they both have the same division record.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_00]: So it goes to the wins against common opponents.
- 1:40[SPEAKER_00]: And the Jaguars beat the chiefs while the cults fell to the chiefs.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_00]: So that's where you're at right now.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: Jaguars are ahead of the cheat or the cults in the division standings even with the tide record and they play each other next Well this upcoming week.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_00]: We're gonna talk about that quite a bit coming up, but right now talking about my top takeaways from the Jaguars actual win against the Titan 25 to 3 where really
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: It just didn't feel like a game for a lot of the game.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_00]: It felt like it was just far out of reach.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: And we've seen the Jaguar's fall apart in that situation before.
- 2:13[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't, in this game, the Jaguar's defense simply was not tested throughout this game by the Titans offense.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_00]: just wasn't.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that's where you're at.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_00]: And that's a good sign for sure, but it's not, I mean, Titans offense, nothing to write home about either.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_00]: So they did what they should have done against a Titans offense that really struggles.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_00]: But looking at my top takeaways, I think that the
- 2:38[SPEAKER_00]: might just be a problem for most opponents down the stretch.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_00]: I really do like shout out to Jacobi Myers, since joining the team, four games, 18 catches on 21 targets, 85% catch rate.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_00]: When targeted by Trevor Lawrence is insane.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: You know, it's two touchdowns, 245 yards, I believe.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_00]: There's just a lot that this team can do now that they have age of Jacobi Myers type presence.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_00]: Brian Thomas Jr. is back on the field, and when you look at what Jacobi can do, it's pretty much everything.
- 3:12[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he blocks his butt off, which is huge.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_00]: He can catch the contested targets.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_00]: He can get open as well.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_00]: There's also opportunities and times where you just see Liam Cohen scheming, him and other players open, so
- 3:27[SPEAKER_00]: He can kind of win in a lot of different ways.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_00]: He's not that speedster, but he has a down the field threat thanks to, again, his ability to be where he's supposed to be when he's supposed to be there, his size, length, and really strong hands and physicality.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_00]: And so he opens up a lot of the offense, makes Trevor feel a lot more comfortable.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_00]: you talk about getting Britain strange back as well.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't think he looked 100% for a lot of this game from an explosiveness and physicality standpoint.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_00]: There were some highs and lows, but still such a huge addition back for the Jaguars just with reliable hands.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_00]: and then Brian Thomas Jr. back as well having a good good performance and he's another player.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_00]: It's like you're stacking all these pieces to Kobe with the consistency and versatility to new almost everything.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_00]: Brian Thomas Jr. with that speed that absolutely kills and building some confidence and you know great job blocking downfield on the
- 4:23[SPEAKER_00]: Jacobi Myers 50 yard catch and run by Brian Thomas Jr. Pan cake and a defender.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: You love to see that effort from him one early on the outside.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_00]: And then also kind of a medium over route, having to go over the middle of the field.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't like he was running into a defender.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_00]: winning in some different ways and and showing effort this huge obviously a big piece of this is Parker Washington and you'd love to get him back.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_00]: He suffered a hip injury.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_00]: Don't know the timeline.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_00]: Don't know how that's going to play out.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_00]: You're hopeful for Parker to be able to get back because if you can have Trevor Lawrence ripping it as he's been doing recently with Jacobi.
- 5:11[SPEAKER_00]: Parker, Brian Thomas Jr. Britain's strange, and then the Ancillary pieces as well that they have, Tim Patrick being one of them who I thought kind of took a step in the right direction after having a disappointing outing against the Cardinals a week before.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think you're in a pretty good spot.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_00]: Combined with the Jack Wars Run Game, which is usually very strong,
- 5:34[SPEAKER_00]: wasn't very great against the Titans in this one, but you know the Titans have some beasts up front.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that the Titans said, look, you're not going to run the ball on us and the Jaro said, okay, well, we'll throw it on you.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_00]: And so sometimes just the way games kind of flow, it ends up being, you know, we're going to lean more on the past or more on the run.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_00]: and they had to lean more on the past and this one, and they had some incredible moments in that passing game.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_00]: Still wasn't consistent enough, but again, you're dealing with injuries at wide receiver, you're dealing with injuries as well up front on the offensive line.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_00]: And injuries are gonna be key to follow, and that's kind of my second takeaway.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_00]: You have obviously Eric Armstrong's dead who suffered a hand injury during the week last week.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: Liam Cohen said after the game,
- 6:25[SPEAKER_00]: Trayvom Walker has been dealing with him me.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_00]: He hasn't practiced in a couple weeks.
- 6:29[SPEAKER_00]: You're hopeful he can get back because you're going up against a cold steam that's gonna want to lean on the run.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_00]: Lean on their offensive line, Jonathan Taylor, the Jag Wars have the best run defense in football.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_00]: And that was one of the things I brought up yesterday, early on against the Titans.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_00]: The Jag Wars run defense kind of was faltering.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: It did get cleaned up.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_00]: You don't wanna have an opening drive where you
- 6:52[SPEAKER_00]: do allow the run because against a team like the cold so that can kind of snowball, but they did clean it up and they've been the best run defense in the NFL against opposing running backs for a lot of the year, but for that to really kind of
- 7:07[SPEAKER_00]: Max be maximized that run defense in that effort.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_00]: You really need Trayvon and Armstead out there.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I like Danny Strigo, and what he can bring, and Josh Hines Allen is a great player, but you need two of your top three defensive linemen to really be as effective as you can be against the colds, a team that wants to get downhill, but also stretch you out a little bit, and Jonathan Taylor just such a talent to back in so many ways.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 7:34[SPEAKER_00]: that's going to be huge to monitor.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_00]: You also have the Parker Washington hip injury, as I mentioned, and then Walker Little sustained a concussion in this game, Patrick McCary, didn't play in this one with a concussion protocol, and and Tuma Doga didn't play either with an injury.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_00]: So you've got some
- 7:55[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, shout out to COVID and land in and why am I going for coming in and holding down the fort.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_00]: COVID and land in, I think, played almost every position on the offensive line for the Jaguars this year outside of center.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_00]: I think, but that's great to see him being able to come in and have some success.
- 8:10[SPEAKER_00]: But injuries are going to be critical to follow for the Jaguars this week.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_00]: And then you also have the cults dealing with, you know, the Daniel Jones.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_00]: Fractured fibula, apparently it's fine, but that sounds scary to me, you know, they wouldn't be playing them out there.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_00]: They didn't have some confidence, but it's all gardener with what seems to be a calf strain.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_00]: just injuries are going to be huge and to me the biggest ones really are arm stead and walker to follow this week but Parker Washington matters for sure he makes such an impact on special teams and as a receiver and then the offensive line it feels like you have the pieces to you know
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: Figure out the puzzle on the offensive line against a cold defensive front that's not been the best in football.
- 8:59[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, they do still have some talent.
- 9:01[SPEAKER_00]: No, the forest buckner will not be available, but Seems like they can piece that together a little bit.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to talk a little bit more about that offensive line.
- 9:11[SPEAKER_00]: One particular piece of that offensive line to end the show.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_00]: But continuing with positive.
- 9:17[SPEAKER_00]: vibes here.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_00]: It does feel like to me that the past rush for the Jaguars and the coverage have really kind of figured it out to be effective.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_00]: And that's even in a game without Eric Rormt's dead and Trayvon Walker, you still have Josh Hines Allen moving around the formation, which that has really opened up his game a lot in my opinion.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_00]: hunting up those matchups as they like to say it in Jacksonville and inside that building, but he's he's been on a tear and a lot of that has had to do with moving around the formation rushing against different players and taking advantage of opposing offensive lines weaknesses.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_00]: It feels like, again, as I said, the past Russian coverage have really taken a step forward.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_00]: The Jack Wars, even though they still have plenty of off coverage, you have enough looks where you have guys up at the line that are dropping out, and you have enough kind of aggressiveness and stickiness from those corners right now, where
- 10:16[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, there's going to be times where if you're playing in off-covered, they're going to get four or five yards on a quick completion.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_00]: But when they do, buster brown is firing downhill.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_00]: Greg Newsom is coming down at the safeties, the linebackers.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: So it feels just more cohesive.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_00]: And yeah, probably should feel more cohesive against the Titans, and it does against some teams.
- 10:37[SPEAKER_00]: That's going to be true.
- 10:39[SPEAKER_00]: The Titans are just not a very good football team.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_00]: Right, the Jaguars have had five games since the by week, and the past rush really over the last month has been very effective over the last four games.
- 10:59[SPEAKER_00]: They've been getting after it.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_00]: They've been posting their highest pass rush win rates of the year.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_00]: Again, starting with the Texans game, which I know a lot of people were not happy about the pass rush in that game, but it was more consistent than people think it was just the Texans getting the ball out so quickly.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_00]: And the Jaguar is not being able to kind of force them to hold it a little bit more.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_00]: But Charger's Cardinals tightens, they've been doing a good job in the pass rush department.
- 11:24[SPEAKER_00]: And I, I, I, I, I,
- 11:25[SPEAKER_00]: even though I think that the past rush has improved, I think a lot of it just goes back to the way they're playing in coverage as well.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_00]: So that doesn't feel like that's going the way.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see over
- 11:50[SPEAKER_00]: One thing that also feels like it's not going away, unfortunately, is the penalties.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_00]: They have had a couple games here and there, where they're very limited on penalties.
- 11:59[SPEAKER_00]: They don't have a ton, but then you have a game like today that's a quick reminder that you can be one of the most heavily penalized teams anytime you go out there.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_00]: They had 13 penalties against the Titans, and the Titans had a lot of penalties too.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_00]: And some of this game was like,
- 12:17[SPEAKER_00]: There was a lot of penalties that wouldn't normally happen because of all the chipping is, the personal fouls, the fighting, and all these types of things.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_00]: That is true.
- 12:26[SPEAKER_00]: But even without that stuff, I think the Jaguars were just too heavily penalized.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_00]: And Daniel Griffiths posted a, not a good stat, but a good stat for the Jaguars.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_00]: But a insightful stat.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars have the most penalties in football.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_00]: They have,
- 12:47[SPEAKER_00]: The most offensive penalties in football, they have the fourth most defensive penalties in football, they have the eighth most special teams, like no matter where you're looking, there's too many penalties for the jog wars.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_00]: They had had a couple of weeks in a row before this one where it had moved in the right direction, but this was like a total regression in terms of those penalties.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_00]: And you gotta be more focused.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_00]: You can't have as many penalties
- 13:14[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, a hundred yards of penalties, that can be a critical factor in losing an important game, whether that be in the regular season, or let's be realistic at this point.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_00]: The Jack Wars are probably going to make the post season unless they have an epic collapse.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_00]: Even if they can't beat the cults at all, and they can't beat the Broncos, they still have eight wins with the Jets and Titans, both at home on their schedule.
- 13:39[SPEAKER_00]: They're probably going to get to 10 wins and that's probably going to get you in the playoffs.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_00]: And that's at minimum.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_00]: That's if you don't beat the Colts at all in your two games against them and you don't beat the Broncos.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_00]: So it looks like the Jaguars are probably going to be a playoff team and you can't beat yourself in those moments.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_00]: In Jacksonville, you have had so few opportunities over the last, you know, 15 years, or since ShotCon took over as the owner to really make an impact in the playoffs.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_00]: And just being there is not enough.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_00]: You have to do something when you get there.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_00]: And so the penalties worry me a lot.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_00]: The other thing that worries me a lot right now, really, is walk a little.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_00]: And I know he's got the concussion, all that stuff, but I mean, Geahod Ward made him look silly on an inside spin.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_00]: And you see this almost every week where it just looks like Walker Little has multiple plays where it's like, he completely forgets his fundamentals, forgets where he is, and like, in some games, you can just dominate past rushes, like Daniel Hunter, Trey Hendrickson, others, it's like he's got no answer, all game.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_00]: But then in some matchups like this where it's like, you're not facing a dominant edge force, he still has moments where it's just like, geez, Louise, how does this happen?
- 15:10[SPEAKER_00]: And that was one of them.
- 15:11[SPEAKER_00]: And it led to a sack and Jaguar's being in a bad situation, all that stuff.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_00]: So he has just been so much worse than I expected.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_00]: And that's pretty disappointing.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_00]: Feelin' pretty good about things overall.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_00]: Penalties are a major problem.
- 15:34[SPEAKER_00]: And... Walker Little is a pretty major problem.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_00]: Didn't matter in this game as much, but against a better team, it can matter.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all tuning in.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_00]: Y'all have a good one.
