- 0:13Hi, Jay Fallon, thank you for listening.
- 0:16This is the slippery slope. So bit of sad news to talk
- 0:20about. Very, very sad news.
- 0:22Disappointing that I haven't seen any more about it across
- 0:26regular mainstream news news outlets here in Australia
- 0:30anyway. 70 Christians were beheaded. 70 Christians were
- 0:38beheaded in Congo. Believe it was in the church by
- 0:44ISIS. The ISIS is still still going
- 0:50strong in some parts of the world.
- 0:52I'll bring up a couple of articles and we'll listen to
- 0:55there was a report done on CBN. I'm going to bring up this this
- 1:02expert on on issues over there in the Congo and what's
- 1:05happening there. But yes, 70 fairly makes me it
- 1:11makes you wonder. I mean, with all the things
- 1:13going on here in Australia and you look at, you know, having a
- 1:19hard time, you think you're having a hard time when you're
- 1:21going through something, a struggle and then you hear
- 1:25things like this and it's barely even talked about.
- 1:30Definitely not in hardly anything in mainstream media,
- 1:34like I said. Anyway, we'll, we'll read
- 1:35through this article together, OK?
- 1:37This headline from Christianity Daily.
- 1:40Tragic mad massacre 70 Christians beheaded in DRC
- 1:44church attack Following on the video, here is just a picture of
- 1:49people sitting with crosses I think mourning. 70 Christians
- 1:53were found beheaded inside a Protestant church in the North
- 1:58Kiwi province of the Democratic Republic of Congo, according to
- 2:03reports stating that the victims had been kidnapped by suspected
- 2:07Allied Democratic Democratic forces toward terrorists.
- 2:14The attack occurred in the village of Maiba last Thursday
- 2:18around 4:00 AM, with the armed group ordered residents to
- 2:21quietly evacuate their homes, which led to the abduction of at
- 2:25least 20 Christian men and women.
- 2:27Following the kidnappings, concerned local residents
- 2:31convened to plan a rescue, but the ADF terror group surrounded
- 2:36the village and managed to capture 50 more believers.
- 2:41Those abducted were subsequently taken to a Protestant church in
- 2:44Kasanga, where they were later found to beheaded, according to
- 2:49the ministry Open Doors, The International Christian Concern
- 2:54AUS based persecution watchdog labelled the incident a brutal
- 2:59massacre, noting that the IDF held the hostages for several
- 3:02days before executing them. So Lord knows what went on, you
- 3:09know how they treated the women and children, whatever they did
- 3:14while that was going on. ICC President Jeff King
- 3:18commented on the horrific nature of the incident, saying this
- 3:22recent massacre was 70 Christians lost their lives is
- 3:25not an isolated incident but part of the grim tapestry of
- 3:29violence that has claimed over 6,000,000 lives in the DRC over
- 3:342 decades of an of a on and off war.
- 3:38The vast majority of the DRC residents are Christian, so this
- 3:42is a religious genocide carried out by radical Islamic
- 3:47terrorists. He emphasised the need for
- 3:50action beyond prayer, advocating for an all African military
- 3:55force to intervene in this failed state to restore order
- 3:59and save countless more people from becoming victims of this
- 4:02endless cycle of bloodshed. So I just want to go to this
- 4:05video that came up on on YouTube and just have a listen to what
- 4:09this expert in this region has to say.
- 4:12Dexter. What can you tell us about this
- 4:14absolutely barbaric atrocity? OK.
- 4:17Well, first of all, it took place in the Democratic Republic
- 4:20of Congo, which is a huge country with about 105 million
- 4:23people that right now is basically in a conflict with
- 4:27neighbouring Rwanda over territory in Kivu, OK.
- 4:32And the violence was perpetrated by an organisation that was
- 4:36affiliated, that is affiliated with ISIS.
- 4:39And The thing is, is that there are some people who have argued
- 4:43that they are essentially working on behalf of Rwanda
- 4:46because Rwanda is a neighbouring country that covets and is
- 4:50actually taking control of an awful lot of the mineral
- 4:52resources in Kivu. And So what this conflict, what
- 4:57this violence has done is demonstrated that the the Congo
- 5:01cannot protect its citizens from violence in Kivu or in North
- 5:06Kivu. And So what people are are
- 5:10worried about is that this is essentially an attempt to kind
- 5:12of destabilise the Democratic Republic of Congo and legitimise
- 5:17Rwandan claims to the minerals in the region.
- 5:21And I don't want to underestimate or downplay the
- 5:25ideological hatred by the perpetrators of this this group
- 5:31who murdered these Christians. But The thing is, is that it's
- 5:33taking place against the backdrop of geopolitics in in
- 5:38Africa. And what has happened is.
- 5:42And so if the Congo under the leadership of Felix, Chief
- 5:48Cicada, can't protect its borders, essentially it's going
- 5:51to have to go for help outside the country and the people live
- 5:56there. And that's why people are
- 5:58worried about it. The Congolese that I've spoken
- 6:00to here in the States say, I, I said, wait a minute, this are
- 6:03you telling me that the Rwandans are supporting this attack?
- 6:06And they said yes. And I said, but Rwanda is a
- 6:10Christian nation. And they said yes, but this will
- 6:12help destabilise the region where all of these minerals that
- 6:17are used for the iPhones that we make that we use in our lives.
- 6:21And so clearly there there's there's an ideological and a
- 6:24theological component going on, but there's also a strategic
- 6:27issue as well. So did you hear that supposedly
- 6:32Rwanda is some kind of Christian nation?
- 6:35How about yet they're supporting or behind supporting this
- 6:40attack, supporting the the takeover because they're looking
- 6:43for the minerals module that verse the love of money is the
- 6:49root of all kinds of evil. Look, there's nothing much more
- 6:53to say about this. What what can you say?
- 6:54It's absolutely disgusting. It's just good that the more
- 6:56people know about it and that we report on it and talk about it
- 7:00and let people know this is going on here in Australia, what
- 7:05we can we do. I mean, because Australia gets
- 7:07so focused on itself, so focused on, you know, all the, all the
- 7:13popular things, you know, so, so focused on lashing out of Donald
- 7:17Trump when he says something they think is wrong against the
- 7:21against Zelensky, you know, so focused on all these other
- 7:25things that really don't have any bearing on our lives.
- 7:31But yeah, we don't want to speak out on things.
- 7:32This this has been going on for a couple of years over in the
- 7:35Congo. And yet it's not, it's not
- 7:37something popular in the Western world to to talk about.
- 7:40That's the unfortunate thing. Anyway, I just thought I'd
- 7:43quickly get on and share about this.
- 7:46Please share, like and share. You know, we need to talk about
- 7:51it a lot more so that we may just bring more attention to it
- 7:54and pray for the people of Congo, these people, these
- 7:58families that are affected times.
- 8:02Anyway, my name is Jay Fallon. Thank you for listening to the
- 8:06Slippery Slope They. Just
