- 0:03Speaker 1: Wake up.
- 0:04Speaker 1: Good next to you.
- 0:06Speaker 1: Kicking off your day in the best way. It's Sonia
- 0:09Speaker 1: and Joakim on the shock circuit. Good morning. Welcome to Wednesday.
- 0:13Speaker 1: You made it through half the week already. Yeah, so
- 0:15Speaker 1: stay with us here on the shock circuit. We'll give
- 0:17Speaker 1: you some haze updates and yeah, we are powering through
- 0:21Speaker 1: whatever the haze has given us, Sonia. We want to
- 0:23Speaker 1: give you ice cream thanks to Apiary as well. Don't
- 0:25Speaker 1: go anywhere. Singapore's number one hit music station.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Um, Joakim's down with influenza B. He's decided to, um,
- 0:35Speaker 1: go back and rest, of course, but I feel so
- 0:39Speaker 1: bad because, uh, I'm the one that passed it to him.
- 0:43Speaker 1: See, that's the problem with, um, that's the problem with
- 0:46Speaker 1: a show like ours, right? Because we only ever see
- 0:49Speaker 1: each other day in and day out. That that's how,
- 0:53Speaker 1: that's how social yet isolated our job is in a way. We,
- 0:56Speaker 1: we usually only see each other at the office at
- 0:59Speaker 1: this time. So, unfortunately, when one of us goes down sick,
- 1:02Speaker 1: which I was for way too long, man, like I
- 1:05Speaker 1: think my immunity this year has been super bad and
- 1:08Speaker 1: Last week, I was just down, like I had food poisoning,
- 1:11Speaker 1: then I had influenza B and I, while I managed
- 1:16Speaker 1: to take time off on air, unfortunately, there was other
- 1:18Speaker 1: work that I had, I had to do. So, I
- 1:21Speaker 1: didn't really give myself the rest that I needed. So
- 1:25Speaker 1: I think uh this morning, Joe's decided that he um,
- 1:28Speaker 1: he will not be able to continue doing the show
- 1:30Speaker 1: this morning, so he's gonna be resting.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Anyway, if you are tuned in right now, it is spreading.
- 1:36Speaker 1: I feel like people are just maybe post F1 or something,
- 1:40Speaker 1: like everyone went out, party, um, there were a lot
- 1:42Speaker 1: of people here visiting Singapore too, so maybe that's how
- 1:45Speaker 1: you might have fallen a little sick. But please take
- 1:47Speaker 1: care of yourself, especially if exam season is here for you.
- 1:51Speaker 1: We just visited, um, my lovely girls over at St.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Anthony's and I believe that, you know, those that are
- 1:57Speaker 1: taking O Levels are very focused on that, but
- 1:59Speaker 1: Even if you're not taking O-levels or big or what's
- 2:02Speaker 1: considered a big national exam, you still have your year-ends
- 2:05Speaker 1: and you still have your tests, right? So, keep in
- 2:07Speaker 1: good health for that. Coming up in just a few minutes, um,
- 2:11Speaker 1: just a very, very gentle reminder for you, never to
- 2:16Speaker 1: do this, OK? And I always feel concerned when I
- 2:20Speaker 1: see people doing this because you never know what might happen.
- 2:24Speaker 1: It's related to jaywalking.
- 2:27Speaker 1: You know, I think they're starting to clamp down on
- 2:28Speaker 1: this as well, because every time I'm on the road,
- 2:31Speaker 1: like as a driver, right, this is one of my
- 2:33Speaker 1: biggest fears, seeing someone jaywalk, OK, and it has happened
- 2:37Speaker 1: so many times. I'm telling you like even till like
- 2:40Speaker 1: this week, it happened like a couple of days ago,
- 2:44Speaker 1: as I was, uh, as I was driving. Sometimes, you know,
- 2:46Speaker 1: those smaller lanes when you, when you go by, people
- 2:49Speaker 1: often think like, oh, it's quiet, let me just dash
- 2:52Speaker 1: across the road or let me just jaywalk, jaywalk really quickly, right?
- 2:56Speaker 1: Um, it can be really dangerous, especially if, you know,
- 2:59Speaker 1: as a driver, I'm turning in from somewhere that I
- 3:01Speaker 1: did not see, um, uh, like a pedestrian or something,
- 3:05Speaker 1: and it would be, it would be really bad for
- 3:07Speaker 1: both of us. So our friends over at Singapore traffic Police,
- 3:10Speaker 1: they're warning against jaywalking. Multiple people have been caught.
- 3:15Speaker 1: And at least 2 people were stopped at a one-way
- 3:18Speaker 1: single-lane road in the CBD area. So, just because it's
- 3:22Speaker 1: a small, tiny narrow road, doesn't mean that you are exempt.
- 3:26Speaker 1: They might be watching. Yeah, they might be watching for real. Um,
- 3:30Speaker 1: I think they're urging us to use like designated crossings,
- 3:33Speaker 1: like please be careful, we'll use your underpasses, your overhead,
- 3:36Speaker 1: your overhead bridges and things like that, which, of course,
- 3:40Speaker 1: requires a little bit more effort.
- 3:41Speaker 1: But please be safe, um, especially over in the CBD
- 3:45Speaker 1: and I want to say like Chinatown, um, Little India,
- 3:49Speaker 1: you know, these areas, right? I am extra careful of jaywalkers.
- 3:54Speaker 1: People know that they run the roads there. They, they
- 3:57Speaker 1: walk like it's their road, you know, and honestly, it,
- 4:00Speaker 1: it gives me anxiety sometimes, and Joakim will always laugh
- 4:03Speaker 1: at me because, you know, when it comes down to me,
- 4:07Speaker 1: Um, doing certain things like, I don't know, crossing the
- 4:10Speaker 1: road or like basic stuff in life. He always thinks
- 4:13Speaker 1: that like, I am very blur and that I have
- 4:16Speaker 1: my eyes closed most of the time, so he always
- 4:19Speaker 1: laughs at me about that. But please be very careful
- 4:22Speaker 1: if you are thinking of crossing the road next time
- 4:25Speaker 1: and it is jaywalking kind of situation, our friends in
- 4:29Speaker 1: blue might be watching. Something to make you smile this morning,
- 4:32Speaker 1: and I, I always feel like these are the things
- 4:35Speaker 1: that we often overlook, right?
- 4:37Speaker 1: Now, a, a piece of um I guess a question
- 4:40Speaker 1: for you to think about. When you order your food,
- 4:43Speaker 1: or maybe when you book a car or something, do
- 4:46Speaker 1: you often tip your rider or driver? I mean, it depends, right?
- 4:50Speaker 1: If you enjoyed the ride or if you think that
- 4:52Speaker 1: he or she did a particularly good job, you might
- 4:54Speaker 1: give a small tip too, and that's pretty normal. But
- 4:57Speaker 1: this particular um driver decided, you know what, I've noticed
- 5:01Speaker 1: this customer constantly giving me regular tips, and it's very regular. I'm,
- 5:06Speaker 1: I'm guessing that
- 5:07Speaker 1: You know, um, he or she, they both always go
- 5:10Speaker 1: around the same area and you more often than not,
- 5:13Speaker 1: you might come across very similar, uh, food delivery riders, right? So,
- 5:18Speaker 1: this GrabFood driver decided, you know what, since you keep
- 5:22Speaker 1: giving me regular tips, I'm gonna treat you to a drink.
- 5:26Speaker 1: So cute, right? So, um, this lady was pleasantly surprised
- 5:30Speaker 1: when he turned up with a chocolate drink just for her.
- 5:33Speaker 1: I think this is over in the Sentosa Island area where, yes, historically,
- 5:38Speaker 1: it's a bit difficult to get delivery riders for your food,
- 5:42Speaker 1: food orders, right? So, when she came across this guy
- 5:46Speaker 1: called Chong, constantly taking up maybe about like 70, 80%
- 5:51Speaker 1: of her Grab orders, she decided to just, you know,
- 5:53Speaker 1: reward him slowly, a little bit, little bit.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Um, and then now they're, I guess they're almost like
- 5:58Speaker 1: acquaintances or friends, and she didn't realize that these tips
- 6:03Speaker 1: meant so much to him, and he was actually so
- 6:05Speaker 1: grateful for it, he decided to treat her to a drink. Honestly,
- 6:08Speaker 1: it made me smile really, really, because um it goes
- 6:12Speaker 1: to show that it's the small gestures in your daily lives.
- 6:17Speaker 1: That really make an impact on people. I think that's
- 6:19Speaker 1: my main takeaway of today. Now, would you say that
- 6:21Speaker 1: you're good with faces? Do you recognize people easily or
- 6:26Speaker 1: do you forget people's faces? Are you better at faces
- 6:29Speaker 1: or names? Because frankly speaking, I think I'm terrible at both.
- 6:33Speaker 1: I might be better at recognizing a person's face than
- 6:36Speaker 1: remembering someone's name. Although, yeah, both are good skills to
- 6:41Speaker 1: have if you just retain it in your memories. So
- 6:43Speaker 1: sometimes we we meet too many people, right?
- 6:45Speaker 1: Taking you to Waterway Point over at Uniqlo, um, this,
- 6:49Speaker 1: of course, is a shop that I go to very often.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Maybe not the one over at Waterway Point, um, maybe
- 6:54Speaker 1: more of the central ones, but any big mall here
- 6:56Speaker 1: in Singapore will have a Uniqlo for sure, right? Um,
- 6:59Speaker 1: so there were, unfortunately, um, some cases of shoplifting over
- 7:04Speaker 1: at Waterway Point Uniqlo. What does the store manager do?
- 7:08Speaker 1: She decided, you know what, I'm gonna commit to memory,
- 7:12Speaker 1: these two suspected shoplifters' faces, and when they come back,
- 7:16Speaker 1: or if they come back, I'm gonna catch them. And apparently,
- 7:19Speaker 1: it actually happened, and she is now lauded a hero.
- 7:24Speaker 1: She memorized the facial features and other physical attributes of
- 7:28Speaker 1: the suspected shoplifters. And guess what, lah, the suspected individuals
- 7:33Speaker 1: actually went back to the shop. Like, why would, why
- 7:35Speaker 1: do they do that? Like you steal from one place,
- 7:38Speaker 1: then you decide, yeah, OK, I'm gonna walk back and
- 7:41Speaker 1: maybe just make myself known again. That's kind of silly, right?
- 7:44Speaker 1: Because even if
- 7:45Speaker 1: Let's just say, even if um the store manager wasn't
- 7:49Speaker 1: as alert, maybe some of the other staff might be
- 7:51Speaker 1: able to recognize them from, you know, the CCTV footage
- 7:54Speaker 1: or they will still make a mark on their CCTV footage, right?
- 7:58Speaker 1: So we're just really impressed and I think um our
- 8:00Speaker 1: friends in the police force as well, really commended the
- 8:04Speaker 1: actions of uh one, Miss Catherine, lauded by the Punggol
- 8:08Speaker 1: Neighborhood Police Center in a Facebook post just yesterday.
- 8:12Speaker 1: And they said she demonstrated exceptional vigilance, courage, and keen memory. So,
- 8:19Speaker 1: as a result, these two shop theft suspects, they were
- 8:22Speaker 1: caught and they are repeated, by the way, repeated incidents,
- 8:26Speaker 1: and I think um there was action to detain them,
- 8:29Speaker 1: to prevent them from stealing anything else. I'm just in
- 8:32Speaker 1: awe that, you know, she's she's brave, but at the
- 8:35Speaker 1: same time, why did these two shoplifters do it again?
- 8:38Speaker 1: It's just like silly at this point, like you're just
- 8:40Speaker 1: being brazen and
- 8:42Speaker 1: You're walking into your own trap at this point. But hey,
- 8:46Speaker 1: gotta give it up to her, man. Miss Catherine, you
- 8:49Speaker 1: nailed it. You did so well. Thank you for your
- 8:51Speaker 1: service and the people of Uniqlo Waterway Point feeling very
- 8:55Speaker 1: safe with you around. You might remember we had Robert
- 8:58Speaker 1: in the studio, not too long ago. I think it
- 9:00Speaker 1: was just a few months back. Yeah, he's such a
- 9:02Speaker 1: sweetie pie, um, huge, huge career ahead of him, I hope,
- 9:06Speaker 1: and here's hoping that he comes back to Singapore.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Anyway, um, if you haven't already seen it, getting quite
- 9:11Speaker 1: a few DMs this morning about what my Subway order
- 9:14Speaker 1: is this morning. OK, friends, um, just yesterday evening, both
- 9:20Speaker 1: Joakim and I posted a video on all platforms about
- 9:24Speaker 1: our Subway order and Subway breakfast wraps, which we are
- 9:27Speaker 1: raving about because if you've tuned in to us enough,
- 9:30Speaker 1: long enough on the morning show, you would know that
- 9:34Speaker 1: breakfast options are very few and far between at this
- 9:37Speaker 1: time of the morning.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Sorry, pardon me. And um when we found out and
- 9:44Speaker 1: we discovered that my gosh, we can order a Subway
- 9:48Speaker 1: breakfast wrap, we were over the moon, OK? We were overjoyed.
- 9:52Speaker 1: And that just goes to show like how starved we
- 9:55Speaker 1: are for good, nutritious, quick breakfast options and uh we're
- 10:00Speaker 1: just so happy that it is now available to us. So,
- 10:03Speaker 1: if you're curious about it and you're curious to know
- 10:05Speaker 1: how we prep and get to work and, you know,
- 10:07Speaker 1: get in that early in the morning, it's all available
- 10:10Speaker 1: for you. You can also check out our post on
- 10:12Speaker 1: TikTok and Instagram.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Um, we collaborated on a post on Insta, that's easier
- 10:16Speaker 1: for you to go take a look and have a laugh.
- 10:20Speaker 1: We have very different ways of getting ready for work
- 10:23Speaker 1: and the way that we get to work as well,
- 10:25Speaker 1: and our processes, warming up our vocal cords and things
- 10:29Speaker 1: like that. So, um, from the video alone, you would
- 10:32Speaker 1: realize that the amount of time Joakim took to get
- 10:35Speaker 1: ready to shower, to change, to, you know, put his
- 10:37Speaker 1: cologne on and everything, that was the time that I
- 10:40Speaker 1: took to put on my skincare.
- 10:43Speaker 1: That's the big difference between the two of us. Um,
- 10:46Speaker 1: and in a world of reality shows, I would say,
- 10:50Speaker 1: reality dating shows especially, we've become extra invested in and
- 10:54Speaker 1: if Joel were here, he would always laugh at me
- 10:56Speaker 1: because I do like watching it sometimes, you know, Your
- 10:58Speaker 1: Love is Blinds, your Love Islands, OK, maybe not Love
- 11:01Speaker 1: Island anymore. I find that I'm so tired of that,
- 11:03Speaker 1: but yeah, in general, dating reality shows have taken the
- 11:06Speaker 1: world by storm in the recent few years.
- 11:09Speaker 1: And there's this one particular show where a Singaporean woman
- 11:13Speaker 1: was actually featured in, and it's called 90 Day Fiance, OK? Um,
- 11:18Speaker 1: if I'm not wrong, maybe it's a spin-off. 90 Day Fiance,
- 11:21Speaker 1: The Other Way is the full title or something like that. So, um,
- 11:24Speaker 1: known as Allie on the show, she raised eyebrows by
- 11:29Speaker 1: revealing that, you know, she and her, uh, her 21
- 11:33Speaker 1: year age gap.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Um, on the show and her pregnancy, which she had
- 11:37Speaker 1: apparently kept a secret from her parents this whole time,
- 11:40Speaker 1: and more jaws were dropped when it was revealed that, oh,
- 11:44Speaker 1: you know, the guy that she's together with, his name
- 11:47Speaker 1: is Jonathan, um, actually had a lot of history and
- 11:51Speaker 1: his ex-wife apparently still lived in his house and all that.
- 11:53Speaker 1: Apparently it was very dramatic, OK. I did not watch
- 11:56Speaker 1: this show. I didn't watch the episodes at all. But
- 11:59Speaker 1: despite the mixed reactions, um, of course, she's been reached
- 12:03Speaker 1: out for with a lot of interviews, right?
- 12:05Speaker 1: She said it doesn't want, she doesn't want it to
- 12:08Speaker 1: get to her and to set the record straight. She
- 12:11Speaker 1: wasn't exactly looking for anything serious when she first met him.
- 12:15Speaker 1: She had just come out of a long relationship, left
- 12:17Speaker 1: with a huge amount of debt, um, and she's got
- 12:20Speaker 1: a lot to deal with, you know. Sparks eventually flew
- 12:23Speaker 1: and things, you know, worked and they're trying to make
- 12:26Speaker 1: the long-distance thing happen as well. Singapore and the US
- 12:30Speaker 1: is not exactly nearby, right?
- 12:32Speaker 1: And their plans took an unexpected turn when she discovered
- 12:35Speaker 1: she was pregnant in 2025. So they tried to expedite
- 12:39Speaker 1: the visa process and all that. And of course, you know,
- 12:41Speaker 1: Singaporeans and netizens, they like to chime in and have
- 12:45Speaker 1: their thoughts on this, and they, some of them actually
- 12:49Speaker 1: claimed that, oh, you know, she must be a gold
- 12:51Speaker 1: digger lah, like that's why she wanted to do this,
- 12:53Speaker 1: that's why she did that.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Um, but she jokingly came out now in an interview saying, guys,
- 12:59Speaker 1: if I'm a gold digger, I'm a very bad one.
- 13:01Speaker 1: There's no gold to be dug over here. And it
- 13:05Speaker 1: was just, you know, a moment where I chuckled too
- 13:08Speaker 1: and I saw, you know, her headlines because sometimes things
- 13:11Speaker 1: get taken out of context and as someone in the
- 13:14Speaker 1: public eye, I too got those accusations, right? People generally
- 13:17Speaker 1: would be like, ah yeah, gold digger lah, or you this,
- 13:19Speaker 1: you that, you know, like.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Make all kinds of opinions and, and thoughts, put it
- 13:24Speaker 1: out there, right? So, I, I understand how she feels,
- 13:27Speaker 1: but I wanted to open up the phone lines, 669-11987. Now,
- 13:32Speaker 1: there's no, honestly, there's no right or wrong. I have
- 13:35Speaker 1: friends who don't care about money. They don't care about
- 13:39Speaker 1: dating a rich person or whatever, they don't care. I
- 13:42Speaker 1: do have other friends who may prioritize certain things in life,
- 13:46Speaker 1: you know, they want a certain lifestyle.
- 13:48Speaker 1: Um, they don't want to work too hard, maybe, and they,
- 13:52Speaker 1: they have in their mind an ideal person that they
- 13:55Speaker 1: want to date, right? Either, oh, someone who can match
- 13:57Speaker 1: up to me and my, my, my level at my
- 14:01Speaker 1: career and work right now, or maybe they want to
- 14:03Speaker 1: date someone that's doing better.
- 14:05Speaker 1: Someone more financially secure, maybe if you're not in such
- 14:09Speaker 1: a good place yourself, right? And there's no right or wrong,
- 14:12Speaker 1: like I mentioned. So give me a call, 669-11987 or
- 14:17Speaker 1: drop me a message, 90050987. Do you have a friend
- 14:22Speaker 1: in your social circle or maybe someone that you know,
- 14:25Speaker 1: could even be a relative, could even be a sibling
- 14:29Speaker 1: that does prioritize dating someone that is richer than you?
- 14:34Speaker 1: Let me know. Yup, talking about reality dating shows, it
- 14:37Speaker 1: was all inspired by this one because a Singaporean lady
- 14:40Speaker 1: was actually featured in one of those, you know, like
- 14:43Speaker 1: US reality dating shows and unfortunately, you know, people always
- 14:47Speaker 1: chime in with their own opinions and their thoughts, right?
- 14:50Speaker 1: And some people are saying, oh, she's a gold digger, this, that,
- 14:52Speaker 1: which I, I feel like
- 14:55Speaker 1: Um, I wanted to just clap for her for having
- 14:57Speaker 1: a comeback there. She was saying that, look, if I'm
- 15:00Speaker 1: a gold digger, I'm very bad at it. The guy
- 15:03Speaker 1: that she eventually ended up with, she's claiming, um, doesn't,
- 15:07Speaker 1: you know, isn't typically someone that would be considered rich, OK?
- 15:12Speaker 1: And that's why she said if I was a gold digger,
- 15:14Speaker 1: I'm very bad at it. There's no gold to be
- 15:15Speaker 1: dug over here, to which I chuckled a little bit,
- 15:18Speaker 1: but anyway,
- 15:19Speaker 1: Um, opened up phone lines and WhatsApp channels, 669-11987 or
- 15:24Speaker 1: 90050987 and I asked you,
- 15:28Speaker 1: Well, she might have made light of it and made
- 15:30Speaker 1: a joke out of it and, you know, perhaps money
- 15:32Speaker 1: is not what she's looking for exactly. She just really
- 15:34Speaker 1: wants to find a connection and love perhaps. Just, you know,
- 15:38Speaker 1: being contented with what you have. But there are some
- 15:42Speaker 1: people who do want to date someone that might be
- 15:46Speaker 1: in a better financial situation. And like I said, there's
- 15:49Speaker 1: no right or wrong. Really, this is a life choice
- 15:51Speaker 1: and it's how you want to date, right? So, if
- 15:53Speaker 1: you're an adult, you know what you're doing.
- 15:55Speaker 1: I wanted to open up the phone lines for this.
- 15:57Speaker 1: I'm going straight to an anonymous message first. Good morning, Sonia.
- 16:01Speaker 1: Please do not say my name. Keep me anonymous this morning.
- 16:03Speaker 1: Ever since I was in JC I've known this girl
- 16:06Speaker 1: who has this ability to always nab the cutest, richest
- 16:11Speaker 1: boy in school, and this continued even after JC university
- 16:16Speaker 1: as well. There's just something about her, maybe her aura.
- 16:20Speaker 1: Um, just the way that she grooms herself well, like
- 16:22Speaker 1: she looks like she comes from a rich family, but
- 16:25Speaker 1: she's from a very average normal family just like myself.
- 16:28Speaker 1: It's just that I feel she has a vision of
- 16:31Speaker 1: what she wants in the future and she's trying to
- 16:33Speaker 1: manifest it. Now, we're in our final year of university already.
- 16:37Speaker 1: She is still together with one of the most eligible
- 16:40Speaker 1: guys of our cohort.
- 16:42Speaker 1: Wow! I love that. Thank you for sharing. Um, look, it's, it's,
- 16:48Speaker 1: it really is a skill almost, and I know the
- 16:52Speaker 1: kind of people you're talking about. I've seen them in
- 16:55Speaker 1: school before, like, and I always wonder like, wow, how
- 16:58Speaker 1: do you know?
- 16:59Speaker 1: And you're so sure of yourself so early on in life,
- 17:01Speaker 1: you know, in poly, in uni, I'm still discovering who
- 17:04Speaker 1: I am. I don't even know what, what I'm wearing.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Like the way that I dress is so experimental. I,
- 17:09Speaker 1: I don't scream princess, you know, I, I never screamed
- 17:13Speaker 1: like I should be dating someone of like a very
- 17:17Speaker 1: good family background. I don't think I've ever given off
- 17:20Speaker 1: that impression. I was just figuring myself out a lot
- 17:23Speaker 1: over poly and university.
- 17:26Speaker 1: Anyway, um, time for more of your messages, 669-11987 or
- 17:31Speaker 1: you can drop me a call 669-11987, and I've got
- 17:36Speaker 1: one more message coming through here. I'm just gonna keep
- 17:38Speaker 1: you anonymous too. You said, good morning, Sonia. I have
- 17:41Speaker 1: a friend who's dating someone wealthy, and it got me
- 17:43Speaker 1: thinking about, you know, dating shows or apps and all nowadays,
- 17:46Speaker 1: you know, people always go on these apps looking for
- 17:48Speaker 1: different things. Some want love, some want companionship, some hope
- 17:52Speaker 1: to meet someone else financially stable.
- 17:55Speaker 1: But when you meet someone rich, how do you know
- 17:57Speaker 1: they're genuinely in love with you or whether money is
- 18:01Speaker 1: playing a part in the relationship? Is it possible to
- 18:04Speaker 1: find genuine love and financial security in one person? Food
- 18:08Speaker 1: for thought. Yeah, that is a very good question, because
- 18:11Speaker 1: as I always say, um, rich people have their own
- 18:15Speaker 1: problems too, to be very honest, and they also have
- 18:17Speaker 1: to be extra wary if you're in a good financial situation.
- 18:21Speaker 1: Are people trying to take advantage of you?
- 18:23Speaker 1: Yeah, there's so many things to think about, right? We'd
- 18:26Speaker 1: love for you to keep the stories coming through. Once again,
- 18:29Speaker 1: 90050987 if you want to drop an anonymous message or
- 18:34Speaker 1: drop me a call, spill some tea. Bit of a
- 18:36Speaker 1: spicy one here today because I came across this article
- 18:40Speaker 1: about how this Singaporean woman joined a US reality dating show.
- 18:44Speaker 1: She actually found someone and you know, she's quite public
- 18:47Speaker 1: with it now since it was aired.
- 18:49Speaker 1: And yeah, lots of twists and turns, but people started
- 18:51Speaker 1: calling her gold digger, saying that, you know, she's only
- 18:54Speaker 1: doing this for the fame or for the money, to
- 18:56Speaker 1: which she clapped back and she said, bro, you know,
- 18:58Speaker 1: if I was a gold digger, I'm really bad at it.
- 19:00Speaker 1: He's not a rich guy. So, I wanted to open
- 19:03Speaker 1: up phone lines for this 669-11987 and um you can
- 19:08Speaker 1: stay anonymous if you want to send me a message
- 19:09Speaker 1: as well.
- 19:11Speaker 1: And the question was, do you know of someone, and
- 19:13Speaker 1: by the way, there's no right or wrong, do you
- 19:15Speaker 1: know of someone who prefers to date someone who's doing
- 19:19Speaker 1: financially better than them? And someone richer, in other words, right,
- 19:23Speaker 1: in other ways of saying, so anonymous message coming through,
- 19:26Speaker 1: this is like the 3rd or 4th anonymous text already saying, hey,
- 19:30Speaker 1: good morning, Sonia. Yes, I, I have this exact friend.
- 19:34Speaker 1: That seems exactly what you described, um, but it's not
- 19:37Speaker 1: in any way bad at all. In fact, I feel
- 19:40Speaker 1: like she, by dating such a rich guy, actually had
- 19:44Speaker 1: to give in a lot, and she had to sacrifice
- 19:47Speaker 1: a lot too. Firstly, they do not live in their
- 19:50Speaker 1: own apartment. She moved into their family home, and it's
- 19:53Speaker 1: a very big house, of course, it's like a bungalow,
- 19:56Speaker 1: but she has to live in their house under their
- 19:58Speaker 1: rules and follow their timeline.
- 20:01Speaker 1: They insist that, oh, you should have a kid very soon.
- 20:04Speaker 1: Perhaps she will have to follow their timeline as well.
- 20:06Speaker 1: So her life is no longer really hers, but she
- 20:09Speaker 1: does love the guy enough to be able to do that,
- 20:13Speaker 1: have these sacrifices, potentially even have signed a prenup or
- 20:16Speaker 1: some sort of a legal documents. I'm very sure that
- 20:19Speaker 1: they made her do that. Thank you so much for
- 20:21Speaker 1: sharing that with me. I mean, that that's not uncommon, right?
- 20:24Speaker 1: But as long as she's doing fine, she still has
- 20:27Speaker 1: a healthy
- 20:28Speaker 1: Social circle with you guys, you know, with your friendships
- 20:31Speaker 1: and everything to support each other through. I think that's
- 20:33Speaker 1: always what is most important. OK, um, more messages coming
- 20:38Speaker 1: through here. Anonymous again. Hey, Sonia, I had this friend, bracket,
- 20:43Speaker 1: we're no longer friends now. Honestly, she was on another level.
- 20:46Speaker 1: She carried herself so well. She always told us she
- 20:50Speaker 1: came from an Indonesian-Chinese family, but things started to unravel
- 20:54Speaker 1: on her wedding day.
- 20:56Speaker 1: The whole wedding had this Indo-Chinese vibe with both the
- 20:59Speaker 1: bridesmaids and groomsmen dressed accordingly, but that was when we
- 21:02Speaker 1: started realizing her stories were not adding up. Eventually, we
- 21:06Speaker 1: found out that her family was not even Indonesian-Chinese as
- 21:09Speaker 1: she claimed, and she even lied about where she stayed.
- 21:13Speaker 1: What amazed me was how convincingly she carried herself to
- 21:16Speaker 1: the point where she ended up marrying a wealthy guy
- 21:19Speaker 1: who happens to be my best friend. Oh my God.
- 21:23Speaker 1: And that's not even the level yet. She also claimed
- 21:26Speaker 1: that she had a medical school background pursuing a doctorate
- 21:29Speaker 1: when she's actually working as a radiotherapist in Australia, and
- 21:33Speaker 1: we actually cross-checked. There's absolutely nothing wrong with being a radiotherapist,
- 21:38Speaker 1: let's be real. But the issue is the apparent gap
- 21:41Speaker 1: between which she claimed and what we later discovered. Honestly,
- 21:44Speaker 1: I sometimes wonder how she manages to keep up this
- 21:46Speaker 1: whole fake persona and remember all the stories that she
- 21:50Speaker 1: told everyone.
- 21:51Speaker 1: Wow, this is a lengthy one. Thank you so much
- 21:53Speaker 1: for sharing that with me. Um, it's so funny because
- 21:56Speaker 1: I actually have a similar friend from school, but we're
- 21:59Speaker 1: talking about people and, and there's no right or wrong
- 22:02Speaker 1: once again, people who prefer to date someone financially better
- 22:05Speaker 1: off than them. I'm, all inspired by a US dating
- 22:09Speaker 1: show where a Singaporean woman was featured on it and
- 22:11Speaker 1: she was almost like accused by netizens for being a
- 22:14Speaker 1: gold digger, to which she clapped back immediately. She said,
- 22:16Speaker 1: the guy that I ended up with actually isn't rich
- 22:19Speaker 1: or
- 22:20Speaker 1: Doesn't have much money at all. So, um, yeah, don't
- 22:23Speaker 1: make assumptions, but I asked you this question here today
- 22:26Speaker 1: and I've got plenty of anonymous messages coming through. One
- 22:30Speaker 1: more coming through here. Morning, Sonia. I used to know
- 22:33Speaker 1: someone who was dating my friend. My friend is a
- 22:36Speaker 1: very easygoing person, didn't think much about the future. Um,
- 22:39Speaker 1: he was very young, but he's a gem of a person. However,
- 22:43Speaker 1: she chose to leave him to be with someone else
- 22:46Speaker 1: much more well to do.
- 22:48Speaker 1: When I had a chance to ask her, she mentioned
- 22:50Speaker 1: that she grew up poor, and she wanted to come
- 22:52Speaker 1: out of poverty and did not want her children to
- 22:55Speaker 1: go through the same thing that she did. Now she's
- 22:58Speaker 1: married to this rich guy. Honestly, till today, I don't
- 23:01Speaker 1: know if what she did was right or wrong, but
- 23:04Speaker 1: to her, it was the right move. Yeah, you see, like,
- 23:07Speaker 1: like I mentioned, right, like these are the decisions that
- 23:10Speaker 1: we make as adults and maybe for her,
- 23:13Speaker 1: She knows what she wants, or maybe she knows what
- 23:16Speaker 1: she doesn't want. That's the thing, right? And no judgment,
- 23:19Speaker 1: no judgment at all. As long as she's a good
- 23:21Speaker 1: person and, you know, she raises her family well and
- 23:24Speaker 1: things like that. OK, we got another anonymous one here. Hey, Sonia.
- 23:28Speaker 1: I've got um a somewhat different gold digger type of
- 23:32Speaker 1: story from the rest. Once again, I would love to
- 23:35Speaker 1: remain anonymous because I'm sure my batchmates at this particular
- 23:38Speaker 1: place will find this story so familiar. Shout out to
- 23:41Speaker 1: them as well. We had two guys in our batch
- 23:44Speaker 1: who came from very above-average families, but they too had
- 23:49Speaker 1: a reputation for dating up.
- 23:51Speaker 1: One was dating a beauty queen for a long time,
- 23:53Speaker 1: but eventually broke up with her and married into a
- 23:57Speaker 1: billionaire family. The other guy also married a girl who
- 24:00Speaker 1: was far more well off than himself. Hey, wait, did
- 24:03Speaker 1: the story end there?
- 24:06Speaker 1: I score and that's it. Are you still typing? What's
- 24:09Speaker 1: going on? OK, we've got to revisit this message in,
- 24:11Speaker 1: in a while because it seems like it, um, it,
- 24:14Speaker 1: it hung off. OK. One message here coming in from Adam,
- 24:19Speaker 1: which is not your real name, I'm assuming. You said, hey,
- 24:23Speaker 1: good morning, Sonia. Funny story. My wife comes from a rich,
- 24:27Speaker 1: rich family, like GCB rich. Well, I'm from HDB type.
- 24:32Speaker 1: We met through a friend and we're happily married. She
- 24:35Speaker 1: pays for most of the bills.
- 24:38Speaker 1: Love it. Sonia here with you this morning. I am
- 24:40Speaker 1: solo and yours. Joakim is on MC today, unfortunately, but
- 24:43Speaker 1: I've replaced him with three lovely looking people in the morning.
- 24:47Speaker 1: Thank you so much for joining me here today. Um,
- 24:49Speaker 1: it's a shame that Joakim isn't here because I've been
- 24:52Speaker 1: trying to convince him to like do a road trip
- 24:54Speaker 1: with me.
- 24:55Speaker 1: Um, firstly, have the courage to drive in Singapore. I
- 24:58Speaker 1: think that's the first thing I wanted to let him know.
- 25:01Speaker 1: But please join me in welcoming Marcus, Crizia, and Aiden
- 25:05Speaker 1: to the studio. Thank you so much for joining me. Morning. Hi,
- 25:09Speaker 1: good morning. Still waking up, is it, guys? 100%. Are
- 25:12Speaker 1: you all OK? OK, so to give you some context, um,
- 25:15Speaker 1: our friends over at BYD have very kindly been, um,
- 25:19Speaker 1: working with us on our show for quite some time now.
- 25:20Speaker 1: I think not just us here at 987, but plenty
- 25:23Speaker 1: of stations here at Media Corp too.
- 25:24Speaker 1: And um we're just very excited to see what else
- 25:27Speaker 1: they have in store and what else is happening. Um,
- 25:29Speaker 1: I feel like when I think of BYD now, I
- 25:31Speaker 1: think of all these road trips, I think of all
- 25:33Speaker 1: these like fun things that you do, and Marcus, you
- 25:36Speaker 1: actually had the chance to go on a trip recently. Yeah. Yeah,
- 25:39Speaker 1: tell me about the trip and where did you go,
- 25:41Speaker 1: what did you do? So we went to we were
- 25:43Speaker 1: switching cars every day so we were going to different places.
- 25:48Speaker 1: So it's a long trip in the mountains. So, um
- 25:54Speaker 1: I was mainly in the B8 uh B and B5.
- 25:57Speaker 1: B5 is already in Singapore and in China, uh, it's
- 26:01Speaker 1: not called like Denza. It's actually under the under another
- 26:05Speaker 1: brand called Fung Cheng Bao, but you can't like, it's
- 26:08Speaker 1: hard to pronounce it outside of China. So they put
- 26:10Speaker 1: it under like Denza, which is very interesting. And then
- 26:14Speaker 1: when we're driving up the mountains, it's a lot of nature,
- 26:17Speaker 1: you know, it's a lot of untouched nature.
- 26:19Speaker 1: And then when you're driving an EV when you're using
- 26:22Speaker 1: like this sort of like you're reducing carbon footprint and
- 26:25Speaker 1: then it sorts of sort of like helps you to
- 26:29Speaker 1: appreciate the nature because essentially when you're reducing carbon footprint,
- 26:33Speaker 1: you're like preserving this like untouched nature for your next generation.
- 26:36Speaker 1: They won't see just through your like photos and stuff.
- 26:39Speaker 1: So with and also because the EV is very quiet, right?
- 26:43Speaker 1: When you're driving up this nature, you tend to be
- 26:45Speaker 1: more appreciative because
- 26:47Speaker 1: You can, your, your senses get heightened. Like there's a
- 26:51Speaker 1: lot of like cows, a lot of yaks, not cows, yaks,
- 26:53Speaker 1: a lot of yaks because yaks live up in the altitude,
- 26:57Speaker 1: tons of them.
- 26:58Speaker 1: And then, uh, you just, you're just more appreciative of
- 27:02Speaker 1: like this whole like nature when you're driving an EV.
- 27:11Speaker 1: I mean we all we see some of your stuff
- 27:12Speaker 1: out there as well. What what about this challenge you
- 27:16Speaker 1: in terms of your content creation? Hm, I don't think
- 27:20Speaker 1: there's a challenge in creation. I think it's, there's a
- 27:25Speaker 1: lot of like
- 27:26Speaker 1: There's a lot of angles we can, we can do
- 27:28Speaker 1: with content creation, but the one challenge I have is
- 27:31Speaker 1: when we're going up the altitudes. I am very, very,
- 27:34Speaker 1: I consider myself to be more healthy, but you know
- 27:36Speaker 1: when you're more healthy, you need more oxygen. When you're
- 27:38Speaker 1: going up the altitude, it's like 4000 m above sea level,
- 27:42Speaker 1: there is no oxygen.
- 27:44Speaker 1: They were like saying, OK, they were like saying, right, you,
- 27:46Speaker 1: you cannot, uh, breathe in like too, too deep of
- 27:50Speaker 1: a breath, too hard. You must move slowly. But you know,
- 27:54Speaker 1: excited teenagers, once they get out of the car, we
- 27:56Speaker 1: started running teenager and Gladys.
- 28:00Speaker 1: And then we started doing like headstands and everything and
- 28:02Speaker 1: then after that we regret my whole face turned white,
- 28:05Speaker 1: my lips turned purple. I almost died. Yeah, they had
- 28:07Speaker 1: to hook me up to the oxygen machine. No, for real,
- 28:10Speaker 1: for real, for real. Yeah, that sounds pretty scary but
- 28:14Speaker 1: it's pretty fun, pretty fun. But did you then discover,
- 28:18Speaker 1: you know, more features about the car, for example, while
- 28:21Speaker 1: you were on this trip because I feel like, and
- 28:23Speaker 1: you guys can chime in at any time, um, you've
- 28:25Speaker 1: been on car trips too, obviously.
- 28:28Speaker 1: You know, when you, when you spend that much time
- 28:30Speaker 1: in the same vehicle over the course of that, like,
- 28:33Speaker 1: you know, 4 or 5 days or even 6 days,
- 28:36Speaker 1: you start to become one with your vehicle, like you
- 28:41Speaker 1: know everything about it. So what were some features that
- 28:48Speaker 1: you found yourself using more?
- 28:48Speaker 1: So it was very, our driver is very cute. He
- 28:51Speaker 1: was just driving. He said this is a driver's vehicle,
- 28:54Speaker 1: and then he turned back and he just gave me
- 28:55Speaker 1: a thumbs up for like 5 seconds. I'm like I
- 28:58Speaker 1: have a video of that just to prove a point. Wow,
- 29:01Speaker 1: that's a big flex. And then, uh, you can, there
- 29:05Speaker 1: is this function from the ZTG 9 where it's like.
- 29:09Speaker 1: Uh, there's this light that comes up from the booth
- 29:13Speaker 1: and then you just have to step on the, the
- 29:15Speaker 1: light two times and then the booth just like opens up.
- 29:17Speaker 1: So it's. It's very intuitive. Yeah. And also the massage
- 29:23Speaker 1: function is very, very, it's very good. Yeah, I mean,
- 29:27Speaker 1: I don't think you, I don't think you can live
- 29:30Speaker 1: without it, right? So, um seeing how you're the head
- 29:33Speaker 1: of sales over at, if I'm, I'm not wrong, right,
- 29:36Speaker 1: that is your title right now.
- 29:38Speaker 1: Um, you are probably gonna tell us what we can
- 29:41Speaker 1: expect to see over at the showroom and maybe we
- 29:44Speaker 1: can even experience some of these features that Marcus has
- 29:47Speaker 1: been talking about.
- 29:48Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, it's so nice to hear from Marcus
- 29:51Speaker 2: about his experience, the adventure. It sounds so exciting, but
- 29:54Speaker 2: you know, at BYD and Denzel, we do a lot
- 29:56Speaker 2: of exciting things. Yeah. So this weekend on the 24th
- 30:00Speaker 2: to 25th of October, we're gonna be having a booth
- 30:04Speaker 2: for BYD.
- 30:04Speaker 2: And Denza at the car expo. And aside from that,
- 30:07Speaker 2: we're also celebrating our 30,000 customers. Would you believe BYD
- 30:12Speaker 2: has reached an exciting milestone of 30,000 customers in Singapore.
- 30:16Speaker 2: And if you're already a BYD or a Dza customer,
- 30:19Speaker 2: you're part of this milestone too. And for us at
- 30:22Speaker 2: BYD it's a great opportunity to say a big thank
- 30:24Speaker 2: you to our customers and also to our media friends
- 30:28Speaker 2: who get to try our vehicles on a daily basis.
- 30:31Speaker 2: For their trust and support. It's really something worth celebrating
- 30:35Speaker 2: and what a better way to celebrate this milestone with
- 30:39Speaker 2: some super special deals at the car expo this weekend,
- 30:41Speaker 1: right? And what kind of, what kind of prizes are
- 30:44Speaker 1: you giving away? I heard some pretty good stuff. Yes,
- 30:47Speaker 1: of course.
- 30:48Speaker 2: So if you've been thinking about getting a BYD, this
- 30:51Speaker 2: could be a great weekend to check one out. There
- 30:53Speaker 2: will be 5 winners every hour with a total of
- 30:56Speaker 2: $120,000 worth.
- 30:58Speaker 2: Of discount up for grabs. And aside from that, customers
- 31:02Speaker 2: get to enjoy attractive Sherwin prizes with every purchase. So
- 31:06Speaker 2: there's a lot of things going on aside from the
- 31:08Speaker 2: vehicle lineup that we have, uh, and customers also get
- 31:12Speaker 2: to enjoy up to 11,000 worth of BYD ownership benefits,
- 31:16Speaker 2: and there are really plenty of reasons to come down
- 31:19Speaker 2: to check out the BYD range and special offers.
- 31:22Speaker 1: OK, yeah, for sure. I mean, look, plenty of our.
- 31:25Speaker 1: Listeners tuning in right now, they might be making plans,
- 31:28Speaker 1: you know, for the next week or so, and they
- 31:30Speaker 1: might just want to stop by, see what's up. Yeah. OK,
- 31:34Speaker 1: but also at these events, you will see a lot
- 31:36Speaker 1: of automative journalists at these events, and that's where Aiden
- 31:40Speaker 1: comes in in just a little while. How are you
- 31:42Speaker 1: doing today, Aiden? You still good? It's too early. It's
- 31:45Speaker 1: too early to function. But I'm glad to be here.
- 31:47Speaker 1: Thanks for having me. Dude, you know what, I don't
- 31:48Speaker 1: think I've ever seen you this early in the morning.
- 31:50Speaker 1: Have I? No, right?
- 31:53Speaker 1: No one should see us this early in the morning. It's,
- 31:55Speaker 1: it's criminal. Um we're gonna take a very, very short break.
- 31:58Speaker 1: When we come back, I want to find out a
- 32:00Speaker 1: little bit more because whenever I see it, and he's
- 32:02Speaker 1: always very busy, he's making videos, he's taking notes, you know,
- 32:06Speaker 1: he's over at these launches.
- 32:08Speaker 1: We'll touch on that in just a little bit. Talking
- 32:10Speaker 1: all things cars this morning. I really wish Joakim were
- 32:13Speaker 1: here for this to convince him to finally get on
- 32:15Speaker 1: a journey to find a car of his choice, perhaps,
- 32:18Speaker 1: you know, I hope that happens in the next, like,
- 32:20Speaker 1: I don't know, year or two, hopefully. Need your help
- 32:22Speaker 1: to convince me, uh, convince him. Please welcome back Shuzia, Marcus,
- 32:26Speaker 1: and Aiden. Thank you for joining me here this morning.
- 32:28Speaker 1: Good morning. Thank you for your energy. Um, and I
- 32:30Speaker 1: think we were just about to get to Aiden just
- 32:33Speaker 1: before we, uh, got cut off and we took a
- 32:35Speaker 1: short break earlier on.
- 32:36Speaker 1: Now, speaking from a view of an automotive journalist, which
- 32:41Speaker 1: you've been doing this for how long now? How many years? Yeah, um,
- 32:47Speaker 1: you know, in this day and age now in Singapore,
- 32:50Speaker 1: there's so many options when it comes to like EVs
- 32:52Speaker 1: or people are still thinking like, how do I start
- 32:55Speaker 1: my EV journey? Um, what would you say to that
- 32:57Speaker 1: person from a point of view where you've tried so
- 33:00Speaker 1: many EVs already? What would you say you're most excited about?
- 33:04Speaker 1: Oh, I, I, I mean, what I'm most excited about, there's,
- 33:07Speaker 1: you know, a couple of different options coming out, but
- 33:10Speaker 1: for what people should look at if they're looking to
- 33:12Speaker 1: get into the whole EV space is to focus on
- 33:16Speaker 1: what they need. Do they need 7 seats? Do you need?
- 33:22Speaker 1: I mean, if you've got a big family, if you
- 33:24Speaker 1: ask my mother, she, she'll always say she needs 7 seats.
- 33:27Speaker 1: I don't agree, but you know, that's what she'll say.
- 33:29Speaker 1: So it really is a case of
- 33:31Speaker 1: Looking at what you need from your car and then
- 33:35Speaker 1: tailoring your car to what you need instead of looking
- 33:40Speaker 1: at the car and then tailoring your needs to what
- 33:42Speaker 1: the car, the car has. You know, you see a
- 33:47Speaker 1: car with 7 seats, for example, the Sea Lion 8,
- 33:49Speaker 1: and you think, you know what, I could use 7
- 33:51Speaker 1: seats even if you don't really need 7 seats when
- 33:54Speaker 1: they are, you know, much more.
- 33:56Speaker 1: Shall we say economical options available such as the CO6
- 33:59Speaker 1: EV or the you know incoming A21 that's just been
- 34:04Speaker 1: launched that I'm about to go try and I'm quite
- 34:08Speaker 1: interested in that one. So I, I don't need 7 seats,
- 34:11Speaker 1: but I do like, you know, a nice small nimble car.
- 34:14Speaker 1: So that's why I'm quite looking forward to taking out
- 34:16Speaker 1: the A21.
- 34:18Speaker 1: And then of course, I'm also looking forward to the
- 34:20Speaker 1: Z Z 9 GT because who doesn't like big power numbers,
- 34:25Speaker 1: big luxury and
- 34:27Speaker 1: You know, all sorts of bleeding edge technology that the
- 34:30Speaker 1: Z9GT has. So I I think that is also one
- 34:32Speaker 1: of the big cars that BYD Dza are releasing in
- 34:35Speaker 1: the near future that I think people will be really
- 34:38Speaker 1: um really interested to see some of our incentives. So
- 34:45Speaker 1: EV incentives in 2027.
- 34:49Speaker 1: What do you think if I'm a if I'm a
- 34:50Speaker 1: buyer in 2027, what do you think I should consider
- 34:53Speaker 1: before like making a decision, for example? Well, I mean,
- 34:58Speaker 1: in Singapore, no matter whether or not there are any
- 35:00Speaker 1: incentives or rebates or surcharges, the bottom line is that
- 35:04Speaker 1: it is still rather pricey. So to me it's if
- 35:07Speaker 1: if you've already set your mind on buying a car.
- 35:11Speaker 1: Not much is going to change between now and, you know,
- 35:14Speaker 1: 2027 in terms of it's not going to get any cheaper. So,
- 35:18Speaker 1: a lot of people like to, that I've seen, they
- 35:21Speaker 1: do like to waffle on about, oh, you know, we'll see,
- 35:25Speaker 1: or let's see how it goes.
- 35:27Speaker 1: To me, it doesn't make sense because if you've already
- 35:29Speaker 1: set your mind on knowing you're going to buy a
- 35:30Speaker 1: car and you know what the regulation change is gonna be,
- 35:35Speaker 1: I don't understand what the weight is for because, exactly,
- 35:38Speaker 1: and I don't think the price is gonna go down,
- 35:40Speaker 1: you know, any further than it currently is. For example, when,
- 35:43Speaker 1: when my family bought our last car, um, we bought
- 35:46Speaker 1: it in 2020, and they were thinking, and they, they
- 35:50Speaker 1: were saying, you know, should we just wait and see,
- 35:52Speaker 1: you know, until the, you know, COE runs out and
- 35:54Speaker 1: then see how it is, then I was like, no,
- 35:56Speaker 1: if you want to buy a car, just do it
- 35:57Speaker 1: now while the COE is a reasonable amount.
- 35:59Speaker 1: I think it's a very, I don't know whether it's
- 36:01Speaker 1: an Asian parent thing like we say wait and see,
- 36:03Speaker 1: wait and see, maybe a better thing, better thing will
- 36:05Speaker 1: come by or something you know you're going to make
- 36:05Speaker 1: the change, just make the change. Yeah. Alright. Thank you
- 36:15Speaker 1: so much for sharing that. Um, let you guys go, Marcus,
- 36:18Speaker 1: one more question for you here. If you could choose
- 36:22Speaker 1: one BYD model for your next road trip, what would
- 36:25Speaker 1: it be?
- 36:26Speaker 1: Definitely the B8, but I don't think it's coming to
- 36:29Speaker 1: Singapore soon. But because I sat in it and it
- 36:32Speaker 1: was like very life-changing. On the outside it's very robust.
- 36:37Speaker 1: It's like a
- 36:38Speaker 1: You will feel that it's a kidnap vehicle, but I
- 36:40Speaker 1: want to get kidnapped in it. I wanna get kidnapped
- 36:42Speaker 1: in it. It's very comfortable and very spacious inside. Yeah, yeah,
- 36:46Speaker 1: you know, you're the people that kidnapped inside, it's gonna
- 36:48Speaker 1: have a lot of good time inside. Yeah, very. It's very,
- 36:52Speaker 1: very big inside, very unassuming. OK, I got you. I
- 36:57Speaker 1: hear you I hear you.
- 36:58Speaker 1: Suzie, before we let you go, anything else you would
- 37:01Speaker 1: like to fill us in on looking forward to over
- 37:03Speaker 1: the next, um, month or so?
- 37:05Speaker 2: So again, I'm inviting everyone to come down to the expo,
- 37:08Speaker 2: see the BYD and Denza booths, see the CL7 DMI Z9GT,
- 37:12Speaker 2: Denza D9, Densa B5, and all the vehicle lineup of BYD,
- 37:16Speaker 2: but I think I can share that.
- 37:18Speaker 2: As customers compare these vehicle models, it goes beyond the
- 37:23Speaker 2: uh vehicle ownership because we have the BYD and then
- 37:26Speaker 2: the lifestyle membership. Recently, we launched the partnership with 88
- 37:30Speaker 2: partners that we have over 100 partners. So we go
- 37:34Speaker 2: beyond just selling vehicles, but giving a good ownership experience
- 37:38Speaker 2: to our customers wherein they can use these benefits across
- 37:41Speaker 2: different categories.
- 37:42Speaker 2: Like dining, shopping, travel, and a lot of things. So
- 37:46Speaker 2: there's really a lot of uh exciting things that we
- 37:49Speaker 2: can offer to everyone. So
- 37:50Speaker 1: it's all-rounded experience. Thank you so much for taking the
- 37:54Speaker 1: time to come out and share with us this morning.
- 37:56Speaker 1: I know it's incredibly early, but we appreciate it because
- 37:58Speaker 1: you're catching people right at the spot where they're driving
- 38:00Speaker 1: to work right now. They're thinking of what to do,
- 38:02Speaker 1: maybe they want to get an explore a new vehicle.
- 38:05Speaker 1: new car. So thank you so much for being here.
- 38:07Speaker 1: Thank you for having me. We're still live on TikTok,
- 38:09Speaker 1: gonna officially say bye proper over there. But of course,
- 38:12Speaker 1: like they mentioned, um, I think all of their social
- 38:15Speaker 1: media platforms will be full of content over the next
- 38:18Speaker 1: few weeks or so. So we're looking forward to that
- 38:21Speaker 1: as well. Thanks guys. Um, in just a few minutes,
- 38:23Speaker 1: I'm gonna scooch on out of here because it being what,
- 38:27Speaker 1: almost end of October already.
- 38:29Speaker 1: A lot of the holiday collections in your favorite, from
- 38:32Speaker 1: your favorite beauty brands are dropping over the next couple
- 38:35Speaker 1: of weeks, OK? And I think some of them have
- 38:37Speaker 1: already done their releases, but I want to give a
- 38:39Speaker 1: big shout out to my friends over at Prada Beauty.
- 38:41Speaker 1: They're doing a really wonderful, huge event over at Changi
- 38:45Speaker 1: Airport later on, uh, today, and it's to capture the
- 38:49Speaker 1: travel retail crowd. You know, everyone's gonna be traveling.
- 38:52Speaker 1: You, you're gonna want to be able to buy your
- 38:54Speaker 1: gifts there, save a little bit of money. At the
- 38:56Speaker 1: same time, there's travel retail exclusives as well. So, that's
- 39:01Speaker 1: my little secret and I'm not gonna gatekeep anymore because
- 39:03Speaker 1: there's so many wonderful sets that you can buy when
- 39:06Speaker 1: you leave the country or when you come back to
- 39:09Speaker 1: the point where like, sometimes I, I think I do
- 39:12Speaker 1: most of my gift shopping in Javel retail instead. So
- 39:16Speaker 1: really hope that you see something that you like and
- 39:18Speaker 1: I'll fill you in more on the socials later on today.
