- 0:07Speaker 1: The Season with Peter Scheger is a production of the
- 0:09Speaker 1: NFL in partnership with iHeartRadio. What's Up, everybody, Welcome to
- 0:24Speaker 1: the Season with Peter Schreger. I am Peter Schreger. I'm
- 0:28Speaker 1: joined by my dear sad I guess producer Aaron Wangkoff.
- 0:35Speaker 1: Ban I say sad, He's not always sad. He's actually
- 0:37Speaker 1: a light and it's a wonderful joy to work with.
- 0:39Speaker 1: But Aaron, the Bill's season, it was a miracle run.
- 0:42Speaker 1: You're a diehard Bills fan. We haven't chatted directly since
- 0:47Speaker 1: the loss. Your quick takeaways, then I'll take it from here.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Yeah, it's sad, as a is a great word for it.
- 0:55Speaker 2: You know, it's like we need the perfect season and
- 1:00Speaker 2: we always run into this wall. Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid.
- 1:05Speaker 2: It sucks to sit there. And like this whole season,
- 1:09Speaker 2: Kansas City was not great. They seemed like they were
- 1:12Speaker 2: a little weak. It seemed like the magic had finally
- 1:14Speaker 2: run out. The receivers weren't working, Kelsey was slowing down,
- 1:17Speaker 2: and then we just couldn't stop him. You know, Diggs
- 1:21Speaker 2: didn't look like a wide receiver. Won the past six
- 1:25Speaker 2: seven weeks, eight weeks whatever. Bills fans I know are
- 1:31Speaker 2: are excited. There's a silver lining with like loving Shakir,
- 1:35Speaker 2: loving Dalton Kincaid, but yeah, it's tough. I mean, I
- 1:41Speaker 2: don't know. It seems like a fitting end for the
- 1:44Speaker 2: Bill season, but yeah, it sucks.
- 1:45Speaker 1: It's sad. I feel bad for you. And it's one
- 1:48Speaker 1: of those where it's like if not now when you
- 1:51Speaker 1: had you had the home field. Finally you had this
- 1:56Speaker 1: situation where you're coming into this thing and you're the
- 1:58Speaker 1: hot team. But then I look at it and it's like,
- 2:04Speaker 1: still had your chances. Yeah, yeah, still Josh was awesome.
- 2:09Speaker 1: But I just don't know, Like, here's the untold story
- 2:13Speaker 1: about this, and I think this is not you know,
- 2:15Speaker 1: everyone looks at numbers and stats and salary cap. Players
- 2:20Speaker 1: will play where they are paid most handsomely, and they
- 2:24Speaker 1: don't necessarily look at all the factors that go into
- 2:28Speaker 1: living in a place. But if it's apples to apples,
- 2:32Speaker 1: it's hard to get free agents to choose to play
- 2:34Speaker 1: in places like Green Bay and Buffalo and Detroit as
- 2:39Speaker 1: opposed to a Jacksonville, a Miami and Atlanta. Players want
- 2:46Speaker 1: to be in warm weather. Players want to be where
- 2:50Speaker 1: they can live year round, so you already have that
- 2:54Speaker 1: uphill battle. I think they went big on von Miller,
- 2:56Speaker 1: which has been the greatest signing. Yeah, he wasn't himself
- 3:00Speaker 1: this year. They're still on the hook for that. Gabe
- 3:02Speaker 1: Davis is a free agent. Aj Epenez is a free agent.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Micah Hide's a free agent. Like every year you're gonna have,
- 3:10Speaker 1: it's not gonna be these same guys coming back. So
- 3:13Speaker 1: I do think you can feel different this offseason as
- 3:17Speaker 1: you did other off seasons with the Bills, because it
- 3:20Speaker 1: does feel like this chapter is behind of closing and
- 3:23Speaker 1: now to get all up again about the Bills this offseason.
- 3:26Speaker 1: And Alan has been number one on the NFL one hundred.
- 3:30Speaker 1: He has had the Madden covers, he has had the
- 3:33Speaker 1: golf experiences with Rogers and Mahomes and Brady, He's been
- 3:36Speaker 1: in that conversation and it's like, all right, well we
- 3:39Speaker 1: lost in a division around again and it's like back
- 3:41Speaker 1: to the drawing board. It's tough. It's tough to at
- 3:44Speaker 1: least now fourty eight hours removed, but I would even
- 3:48Speaker 1: I hate being so this is so down to start
- 3:51Speaker 1: what should be an exciting championship weekend podcast with this
- 3:54Speaker 1: the Bills stuff. Dan Fouts is a Hall of Fame quarterback,
- 4:01Speaker 1: an all time legend, he never made a Super Bowl.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Warren Moon is an all time NFL quarterback who had
- 4:08Speaker 1: many playoff appearances, he just never made the playoffs in
- 4:12Speaker 1: every super Bowl. And Philip Rivers, of course, is probably
- 4:16Speaker 1: destined to go to the Hall of Fame and he
- 4:19Speaker 1: never went to the Super Bowl. Sometimes it just doesn't happen,
- 4:23Speaker 1: I know, you know, it takes a long career and
- 4:27Speaker 1: a lot of bucks and bruises before a lot of
- 4:29Speaker 1: these guys do get to hoist at Lombardi. And you know,
- 4:32Speaker 1: in the case of John Elway, he waited till he
- 4:34Speaker 1: was like thirty eight or thirty nine, but at least
- 4:35Speaker 1: he went to five. You know, I think it's tough.
- 4:40Speaker 2: To with the other three teams that lost this weekend,
- 4:44Speaker 2: the Packers and the Texans, they they're nothing but bright
- 4:47Speaker 2: road ahead of them, like they were working ahead of time.
- 4:51Speaker 2: The Bucks, this was supposed to be kind of a
- 4:53Speaker 2: down year. They're getting their cap in order. We were
- 4:56Speaker 2: the team that we're going into this offseason. Some I
- 5:00Speaker 2: think it's like forty plus million over the cap. We
- 5:03Speaker 2: were losing a bunch of creagents potentially, So it does.
- 5:07Speaker 2: It feels in the context of everyone else that lost
- 5:11Speaker 2: that you could still be really excited for next year
- 5:14Speaker 2: with them, and we'll be excited about the Bills next year.
- 5:18Speaker 1: I yes, I mean once football's back and you're you're
- 5:20Speaker 1: there watching training camp and Josh is smiling, and I'd
- 5:23Speaker 1: like to think so, but gosh, Tampa Bay. So I
- 5:28Speaker 1: want to take some time in the podcast to go
- 5:30Speaker 1: through this. Tampa Bay's down eight points. Baker Mayfield gets
- 5:35Speaker 1: the ball with a little bit more than a minute
- 5:37Speaker 1: left to go through. It's an interception to Derek Barnes
- 5:40Speaker 1: and the Lions have the ball and the Buccaneers have
- 5:44Speaker 1: one time out left. This is a crazy thing that
- 5:47Speaker 1: happened over the weekend that is not getting enough dialogue,
- 5:51Speaker 1: especially on the national shows and on the national scale.
- 5:53Speaker 1: But we're going to tackle it here because if you
- 5:55Speaker 1: listen to this podcast, you live and breathe football, and
- 5:58Speaker 1: game management stuff comes up with every interview with every
- 6:01Speaker 1: coach or every GM or every president that we interview
- 6:05Speaker 1: game manager and it's such a key thing. And I'm
- 6:08Speaker 1: still scratching my head as we record this on Tuesday morning.
- 6:11Speaker 1: So it's a Sunday afternoon at this at the stage,
- 6:14Speaker 1: there's like forty five seconds remaining. The Buccaneers have a timeout.
- 6:17Speaker 1: It's third and twelve for the Lions, and everyone's ready
- 6:21Speaker 1: for them just to bleed the clock and take a
- 6:23Speaker 1: knee for whatever reason. With nineteen seconds on the play clock,
- 6:29Speaker 1: Frank Ragnow and Jared Goff hike the ball and take
- 6:33Speaker 1: a knee. And now there's a time out left. It's
- 6:37Speaker 1: fourth down and twelve, and everyone from the buccaneer's sideline
- 6:42Speaker 1: is flooding the field to shake hands, and Todd Bowles
- 6:45Speaker 1: is already at midfield shaking Dan Campbell's hand. With twenty
- 6:49Speaker 1: five seconds left, twenty four seconds left, twenty three, twenty two,
- 6:53Speaker 1: Todd Bulls is out there shaking hands, and no one's
- 6:56Speaker 1: calling time out, and everyone from the Bucks is shaking
- 6:58Speaker 1: the Lion's hands, and the clock just bleeds to zero.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Now in real time, I'm freaking the hell out on
- 7:05Speaker 1: my couch and I'm screaming called time out, And I
- 7:09Speaker 1: was so confused and beside myself. I just assumed NBC
- 7:15Speaker 1: had an all time production gaff and had that time
- 7:18Speaker 1: out on the screen on accident and made a mistake
- 7:22Speaker 1: because clearly there's no timeouts left. Todd Bowles would never do.
- 7:26Speaker 1: So the game ends, everyone flips over, Okay, time to
- 7:31Speaker 1: watch Chiefs Bills and I'm like, what was that? What
- 7:36Speaker 1: was that? I'm trying to find there's no real information.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Somebody asks Bulls about it. Bulls basically says it was
- 7:42Speaker 1: a it was a foregone conclusion. We were losing that
- 7:46Speaker 1: game and it was over, like we didn't want to
- 7:47Speaker 1: prolong it. I'm like, what, wait, you really had a
- 7:50Speaker 1: time out? Then they have a full night to sleep
- 7:53Speaker 1: on it. Todd Bowles has a media availability on Monday
- 7:56Speaker 1: morning and they asked him, why didn't you use that
- 7:59Speaker 1: final time out? And I can't imagine this is this
- 8:02Speaker 1: is the response that bull said in that he didn't
- 8:06Speaker 1: want to give Well, I just listen to this.
- 8:10Speaker 3: It's not a gentleman's agreement. They run field goal range.
- 8:13Speaker 3: We'd have had twelve seconds to calculate it. You after
- 8:16Speaker 3: using that time out to come back from it, then
- 8:18Speaker 3: we would have been down eleven points. It's kind of pointless.
- 8:21Speaker 3: You kind of know when the game was over and
- 8:24Speaker 3: the game was over, who.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Cares if they likely weren't going to win. You try everything.
- 8:28Speaker 1: That's why you do onside kicks. When you're down twenty one.
- 8:30Speaker 1: You do everything you possibly can to give your team
- 8:32Speaker 1: a fighting chance to win, and they opted not to.
- 8:36Speaker 1: I like Todd Bowles, this is not a Todd Bowles
- 8:39Speaker 1: specific qualm. There are so many people at fault here. One,
- 8:43Speaker 1: what are Frank Ragnow and Jared Golf doing? Why are
- 8:46Speaker 1: they hiking the ball with nineteen seconds instead of bleeding
- 8:48Speaker 1: that clock all the way. Lastly, there are so many
- 8:52Speaker 1: people in that Tampa organization on the sidelines in the
- 8:55Speaker 1: box who can say to bulls, hey, you got a
- 8:57Speaker 1: time out, you gotta time out.
- 8:58Speaker 4: Use it.
- 8:59Speaker 1: I'm gonna put my hand up here and say I
- 9:01Speaker 1: never coached. I've never been an offensive lineman who's been
- 9:04Speaker 1: having my knees chopped at fifty nine minutes of a game.
- 9:08Speaker 1: I've never been a defensive lineman who's had to have
- 9:11Speaker 1: the same thing happened to him. Maybe this is something
- 9:14Speaker 1: that's just a unwritten code, but like it's a one
- 9:17Speaker 1: score game, Aaron, I know that that the NFL page
- 9:21Speaker 1: turns that people move on. If I'm a Bucks fan
- 9:24Speaker 1: this morning, it is it is Tuesday morning. I am
- 9:27Speaker 1: still really really disappointed with how that thing ended, and
- 9:31Speaker 1: that my team played their asses off like Baker was awesome,
- 9:35Speaker 1: and those receivers stepped up and Kate Aughten had the
- 9:37Speaker 1: game of his life. And I don't know if they
- 9:40Speaker 1: win that game, I don't know if they tie that game,
- 9:41Speaker 1: it still to get a two pointer. It doesn't matter
- 9:43Speaker 1: the fact that we're shaking hands and conceding the game
- 9:46Speaker 1: at at that time. It really rubs me wrong and
- 9:49Speaker 1: upsets me, and I kind of am left cressfallen just
- 9:53Speaker 1: at that. Everyone in the NFL too, just kind of
- 9:55Speaker 1: being like, yeah, well, that's just what you do.
- 9:57Speaker 2: And it wasn't. This isn't Week eighteen, and Tampa's already
- 10:01Speaker 2: out of the playoffs, and it's just like, you know,
- 10:03Speaker 2: let's get our make sure our guys are healthy. They
- 10:06Speaker 2: he could have won and gone to the conference championships.
- 10:10Speaker 2: I mean, even whatever the chance, whatever the percentage chances are, Yeah,
- 10:15Speaker 2: I'm with you on that.
- 10:17Speaker 1: Just I feel for those Tampa fans. Quick things before
- 10:20Speaker 1: we get to our guests. One Marquez Valdez Scantling. This
- 10:24Speaker 1: is a guy I loved when he was in Green Bay.
- 10:26Speaker 1: I loved saying his name He was a guy out
- 10:28Speaker 1: of South Florida who was always the big target threat,
- 10:31Speaker 1: the big play threat for the Green Bay Packers. He
- 10:33Speaker 1: did not have a good regular season this year. Now
- 10:36Speaker 1: he wanted to ring with the Chiefs. Last year great
- 10:39Speaker 1: had a great playoff game for them last year. This year,
- 10:41Speaker 1: did not have a good regular season. Was often the
- 10:43Speaker 1: punchline and the punching bag amongst football fans for the
- 10:48Speaker 1: Chiefs wide receivers room. You know, he dropped the pass
- 10:50Speaker 1: against the Eagles, and he had some other bad, egregious
- 10:54Speaker 1: drops this season. In the moment that mattered mvs. Marquez Valdez,
- 10:59Speaker 1: Scantling had two different thirty yard catches in Buffalo and
- 11:04Speaker 1: I could not be happier for that dude and for
- 11:07Speaker 1: that story. I love the redeeming guys. Who you know what,
- 11:11Speaker 1: would you trade a bad regular season for one epic postseason? Yes,
- 11:16Speaker 1: you always would. And I love that Andy supported him
- 11:19Speaker 1: and that Patrick went back to him. I use first
- 11:22Speaker 1: name basis on these guys because I feel like I've
- 11:25Speaker 1: been through the wreckage and through this entire season with them,
- 11:28Speaker 1: with all of the wide receiver room issues and how
- 11:31Speaker 1: Rashi Rice the rookie had to step up and be there.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Number One, Mark Quez Valdez scantling when Rice was covered
- 11:37Speaker 1: and Kelsey was covered twice in man to man situations,
- 11:40Speaker 1: got open for big plays against the Bills, huge catches
- 11:43Speaker 1: for him. That's what champions are made of, which leads
- 11:47Speaker 1: to my other quote. Rudy tom Janovic used it, and
- 11:52Speaker 1: I love my MBA and Aaron. You know, I would
- 11:55Speaker 1: almost rather host an NBA show sometimes in NFL how
- 11:59Speaker 1: much I'm involved with it. And you know Bill Simmons
- 12:02Speaker 1: and I talked about the Orlando Magic to start off
- 12:04Speaker 1: Friday's podcast I did with him. Rudy tom Janovic won
- 12:08Speaker 1: title with the ninety four Rockets. They struggled out of
- 12:12Speaker 1: the gates in ninety five. They make a trade. They're
- 12:14Speaker 1: bringing Clyde Drexler. They're the sixth seed, they're the sixth
- 12:17Speaker 1: seed in the playoffs. They have to go in win
- 12:19Speaker 1: nine different road games on this playoffs run. They end
- 12:23Speaker 1: up defeating the Orlando Magic in the NBA Finals, and
- 12:27Speaker 1: in his press availability, he would be a lot more
- 12:29Speaker 1: emotional about it. But in the heat of the moment
- 12:31Speaker 1: when they hand them the Larry O'Brian Trophy, Rudy tom
- 12:35Speaker 1: Jonovich lists what his team did six seed, nine road victories,
- 12:38Speaker 1: the whole thing, and he says, don't ever, don't ever
- 12:44Speaker 1: underestimate the heart of a champion. That's what these Kansas
- 12:49Speaker 1: City Chiefs are. Don't ever underestimate the heart of a champion.
- 12:53Speaker 1: All those guys stepped up. Kelsey was awesome. All the qualms,
- 12:57Speaker 1: all the worries, everything we had about the Chiefs going
- 12:58Speaker 1: into this game. They did their job. And those backups
- 13:03Speaker 1: who had to play and do big things on defense
- 13:05Speaker 1: did those big things on these And now they head
- 13:07Speaker 1: to Baltimore where they're underdogs yet again. And gosh, can
- 13:12Speaker 1: we just set the seat on this Baltimore's atmosphere, So
- 13:15Speaker 1: you've got an awesome home field M and T Bank,
- 13:18Speaker 1: which is hosting its first AFC Championship game ever. This
- 13:21Speaker 1: is the first AFC Championship game being played in the
- 13:25Speaker 1: city of Baltimore since nineteen seventy one. And Aaron, I
- 13:29Speaker 1: gotta call it like a I'm really conflicted here, all right.
- 13:32Speaker 1: My wife, Erica is from Baltimore, and she's not just
- 13:37Speaker 1: one of these, you know. I'm from Baltimore, and that's great.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Her father David, her mother Sarah, or her brother Brian
- 13:45Speaker 1: are die hard Baltimore sports fans. I'm talking season ticket
- 13:51Speaker 1: holders for the Baltimore Orioles, season ticket holders for the
- 13:55Speaker 1: Baltimore Ravens, and well you I'd say, oh, that's nice,
- 13:58Speaker 1: that's no, these aren't. This isn't because they're ballers or anything.
- 14:01Speaker 1: This is because they put there. They put their funds
- 14:05Speaker 1: to those two teams and to Maryland sports. I'm talking
- 14:09Speaker 1: University of Maryland Terrapins too. Like they are hardcore. My
- 14:13Speaker 1: father in law has been to every Baltimore Super Bowl ever,
- 14:18Speaker 1: that includes Superbowl super Bowl three. He went to Colts
- 14:22Speaker 1: versus Jets and was there in person as a kid
- 14:26Speaker 1: watching Joe Namath beat beat Don Shula and the Colts
- 14:31Speaker 1: in that Super Bowl. And of course they've seen the
- 14:33Speaker 1: Ravens now win in two thousand in Tampa over the
- 14:35Speaker 1: Giants and twenty thirteen over the forty nine ers in
- 14:39Speaker 1: New Orleans. Of course they're going to be at the
- 14:43Speaker 1: game on Sunday. However, I have a streak going where
- 14:49Speaker 1: I have picked the correct Super Bowl champion the last
- 14:52Speaker 1: several seasons. I have a Super Bowl prediction that we
- 14:56Speaker 1: can timestamp, and you know what, let's play the clip.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Let's give my Super Bowl prediction right here from right
- 15:03Speaker 1: before Week one in September. Who I picked my winners
- 15:07Speaker 1: from the NFC The San Francisco forty nine Ers. I
- 15:11Speaker 1: think they play a punishing brand of football that is
- 15:14Speaker 1: with Nick Bosa or without. I think their defense always
- 15:17Speaker 1: sets the standard. And as much as I love Demko Ryans,
- 15:20Speaker 1: I don't think they missed that much of a beat
- 15:23Speaker 1: without him. They keep ongoing. They've got young talent at
- 15:25Speaker 1: every position there and then on offense, Kyle Shanahan is
- 15:28Speaker 1: a mad genius. I think he finally has a quarterback
- 15:30Speaker 1: that can operate his offense that he believes he can
- 15:33Speaker 1: put in trust and really get them over the hump.
- 15:35Speaker 1: He's a former mister Irrelevant and that is okay. I've
- 15:39Speaker 1: got McCaffrey as my MVP. I think Deebo has a
- 15:41Speaker 1: big year. I think Ayuk is a big year. I
- 15:43Speaker 1: think Trent Williams might going out on a swan song
- 15:46Speaker 1: here in his last couple of seasons, but I think
- 15:48Speaker 1: he's still the best tackle in the league. I am
- 15:50Speaker 1: going with the San Francisco forty nine Ers as my
- 15:53Speaker 1: team out of the NFC. As for the AFC really
- 15:59Speaker 1: really struggled with this. Yeah, I can't pick against the Chiefs.
- 16:05Speaker 1: I don't care if Chris Jones is I don't care
- 16:07Speaker 1: if Tyreek Hill's not there. I don't care if any
- 16:10Speaker 1: of those guys aren't there. I can't pick against the Chiefs.
- 16:12Speaker 1: The Chiefs have been the standard and last year was
- 16:15Speaker 1: a great lesson. I stuck with them. I pick them.
- 16:18Speaker 1: The wins Super Bowl despite losing Tyreek Hill. I think
- 16:20Speaker 1: I might have been in an island on that and
- 16:21Speaker 1: that sounds wild considering how much success they have. I
- 16:24Speaker 1: will not pick against Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelcey until
- 16:27Speaker 1: I am forced to. And I am not forced to
- 16:29Speaker 1: pick against them. They are still at the peak of
- 16:31Speaker 1: their game. I had a chance to spend time with
- 16:33Speaker 1: them this offseason at that big Slick Charity Classic, and
- 16:36Speaker 1: I was hanging with them, and I swear to god,
- 16:38Speaker 1: I left that thing being like, those guys are great.
- 16:40Speaker 1: And then I talked to us some people around the league,
- 16:42Speaker 1: and I'm like, I don't know. They seem like to
- 16:43Speaker 1: be having a little too good of a time this
- 16:44Speaker 1: offseason with the golf and this, and they are concerts
- 16:47Speaker 1: and it's like Mahomes and Kelsey are everywhere in the
- 16:49Speaker 1: podcast and you want to start turning away and then
- 16:52Speaker 1: you're like, holy crap, they're just so good. I am
- 16:54Speaker 1: going with the Chiefs. I don't know how they get there.
- 16:57Speaker 1: I don't know if it's through a one seed and
- 16:58Speaker 1: they they host all these games at Arrowhead. I don't
- 17:00Speaker 1: know if they've got to go on the road. But
- 17:02Speaker 1: like I said, if it's one of those deals, eyes
- 17:06Speaker 1: will not deceive me. And if there's a fourth quarter
- 17:08Speaker 1: and Patrick Mahomes needs to get it done in a
- 17:10Speaker 1: big spot, he has gotten it done every single time,
- 17:12Speaker 1: I'm going with Kansas City. Now, this was a Super
- 17:14Speaker 1: Bowl a few years back in Miami. We go from
- 17:16Speaker 1: one party city to the next. We go to Vegas.
- 17:19Speaker 1: Forty nine Ers versus Chiefs, the Super Bowl champions for
- 17:24Speaker 1: the Super Bowl in Las Vegas on CBS. Drum roll,
- 17:28Speaker 1: please aeron. The Kansas City Chiefs will be your first
- 17:34Speaker 1: back to back Super Bowl champion winners since the New
- 17:36Speaker 1: England Patriots did it in two thousand and three and
- 17:38Speaker 1: two thousand and four. I am going with the Chiefs.
- 17:42Speaker 1: I love what they are all about. I love that
- 17:44Speaker 1: people are doubting them, and I love the fact that
- 17:47Speaker 1: Mahomes and Kelsey are ready to go. And so then
- 17:51Speaker 1: last week I go on Bill Simmons' podcast and I'm
- 17:55Speaker 1: coming in there full of gust, though, and that thing
- 17:59Speaker 1: is a monster. It's got millions of listeners in them.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Bill's are underdogs, and I say, pick the Chiefs out right, Bill,
- 18:06Speaker 1: the Chiefs out Right. And then I go on Good
- 18:09Speaker 1: Morning Football on Friday and I give this amazing the
- 18:13Speaker 1: emotional soliloquy slash monologue about how the city of Kansas
- 18:16Speaker 1: City has adopted me in so many ways and has
- 18:19Speaker 1: brought me in and has made me feel like one
- 18:21Speaker 1: of them. And I do the charity event big Slick
- 18:23Speaker 1: with them, and gosh, I'm not from Kansas City, but
- 18:26Speaker 1: this Chief's ride has been incredible. And I'm gonna dance
- 18:30Speaker 1: with the guys who took me to the dance, and
- 18:34Speaker 1: I'm gonna ride with the Chiefs all the way through
- 18:36Speaker 1: and through, no matter who the opponent is. And they
- 18:38Speaker 1: win and I get no personal joy out of that.
- 18:41Speaker 1: I think it's cool when I pixe right, but I
- 18:45Speaker 1: really believe it. I really believe that they are still champions.
- 18:48Speaker 1: And until you beat the champion. I can't pick against
- 18:50Speaker 1: the champion, So now it comes to a head Chiefs personally,
- 18:57Speaker 1: I have a lot of a lot of ties to
- 18:58Speaker 1: that team. Right now, my chips are on the table.
- 19:01Speaker 1: I have put my name on it. I believe that
- 19:04Speaker 1: they are gonna be the Super Bowl champions this year.
- 19:06Speaker 1: I still believe in them. My Homes has been great
- 19:08Speaker 1: for my career because I was early and on him
- 19:10Speaker 1: and he's been super nice to me. And long before
- 19:12Speaker 1: Kelsey was with Taylor Swift or long before Kelsey was
- 19:15Speaker 1: this international superstar, Kelsey was a guy that I would
- 19:19Speaker 1: talk too often. And I really like what Kelsey's up to,
- 19:21Speaker 1: and of course Andy Reid is so special. I believe
- 19:24Speaker 1: the Chiefs will win on Sunday. However, I'm going to
- 19:29Speaker 1: this game as a fan. NFL Network's not sending me,
- 19:33Speaker 1: Fox isn't sending me. I am going with my wife
- 19:36Speaker 1: and my son, and we are going to sit with
- 19:38Speaker 1: my father in law, my mother in law, and my
- 19:42Speaker 1: brother in law, who are probably gonna be wearing Jonathan
- 19:44Speaker 1: Ogden jerseys and Chris McCallister jerseys. And you name it.
- 19:51Speaker 1: The hideous old Ravens logo with that gross yellow like
- 19:55Speaker 1: they still rock that stuff. They rock the Camo pants,
- 19:58Speaker 1: the whole thing. And I've got to make a pick
- 20:03Speaker 1: on Good Morning Football, like publicly, and then I've got
- 20:05Speaker 1: to walk into that building as like a trader of
- 20:07Speaker 1: some sort and sit amongst the fans. So I am
- 20:10Speaker 1: telling you right now, Aaron, I feel really torn personally,
- 20:13Speaker 1: but also like I got to live with that. Hey
- 20:16Speaker 1: if the Chiefs win, like the looking at an empty
- 20:21Speaker 1: stadium and my son crying tears because he's a Ravens fan,
- 20:24Speaker 1: just like his mom and just like his grandfather, and
- 20:27Speaker 1: then b if the Ravens win, like I might get
- 20:29Speaker 1: thrown at me there because they look at me as
- 20:31Speaker 1: like some sort of Chiefs fan because I'm on television
- 20:33Speaker 1: talking about the Chiefs how they're gonna beat the Ravens.
- 20:35Speaker 2: Your thoughts, well, I love whenever I look into the
- 20:39Speaker 2: stands and I see groups of people there together and
- 20:42Speaker 2: they're in mixed jersey. So someone is there rooting for
- 20:45Speaker 2: the Chiefs and someone's there rooting for the Ravens, and
- 20:47Speaker 2: they're next to each other, they're talking to like throughout
- 20:50Speaker 2: the game.
- 20:50Speaker 1: That's beautiful.
- 20:51Speaker 2: I love, like you know, I hate whenever it's some
- 20:53Speaker 2: story about like fans got into a fight, we're throwing
- 20:56Speaker 2: drinks at each other. But if they're like you know,
- 20:59Speaker 2: they're as friends and family, that's great. I think you'll
- 21:03Speaker 2: have a little bit of buffer because you'll be around
- 21:04Speaker 2: a lot of Ravens. God, man, I don't know. I mean,
- 21:10Speaker 2: this is the first time they're going to the conference championship.
- 21:13Speaker 2: That's not going to be in Kansas City.
- 21:17Speaker 1: I'm not wearing I'm not gonna wear yeah, oh Chief stuff. No,
- 21:20Speaker 1: I wouldn't wear Chief stuff ayway, but I'm not gonna
- 21:22Speaker 1: wear any NFL I think stuff. I'll see if I
- 21:24Speaker 1: could just blend in.
- 21:25Speaker 2: Just getting Oriels jersey and wearing.
- 21:29Speaker 1: Win, I'll be elated, Like my family's gonna be excited.
- 21:33Speaker 1: Lamar is an amazing story. This is very very specific
- 21:37Speaker 1: to me when you've got family that loves the Ravens.
- 21:40Speaker 1: But I've kind of put my eggs in the Chiefs basket.
- 21:45Speaker 1: Who do I think will truly win? I honestly think
- 21:48Speaker 1: the Chiefs win like twenty three twenty and it's one
- 21:51Speaker 1: of these awesome games and I cannot wait. I'll be
- 21:54Speaker 1: there taking the train down Sunday morning, and of course
- 21:58Speaker 1: I will be on Good Morning Football Monday morning, so
- 22:01Speaker 1: I'll take the train back late Sunday night. Here's here's
- 22:05Speaker 1: a quick battery before we get into our guests of
- 22:09Speaker 1: what I think. I think we're gonna get Taylor Swift right,
- 22:13Speaker 1: So I'm writing Taylor Swift's name down. I would imagine
- 22:16Speaker 1: I haven't spoken to him. I would imagine our podcast
- 22:18Speaker 1: buddy Paul Rudd is in the house because that's a
- 22:20Speaker 1: train rider, a drive away. I think you're gonna get
- 22:24Speaker 1: Jason Kelcey with Taylor Swift writing that down. I think
- 22:27Speaker 1: Josh Charles. You know Josh Charles's work, great actor, but
- 22:30Speaker 1: he diehard Ravens fan. You know him from the Good
- 22:32Speaker 1: Wife and from Dead Poet Society. He is the most
- 22:35Speaker 1: hardcore Ravens fan that I know up here in New York.
- 22:39Speaker 1: He'll he'll be in the house. I wonder if Stone Street, Wriggle, Oh,
- 22:44Speaker 1: Heidi Gardner stay Night Live, diehard Chiefs fan. They have
- 22:48Speaker 1: SNL on Saturday night. I believe I'm sure she can
- 22:52Speaker 1: make it down Sunday. So I think you're gonna get
- 22:54Speaker 1: a really cool scene. And then, of course the images
- 22:58Speaker 1: of those Ravens fans by the way, I've been to
- 23:01Speaker 1: a million Ravens games. Why are they all dressed in costume?
- 23:04Speaker 1: All those Ravens fans they dressed and like robes and
- 23:08Speaker 1: they wear like browns and they're like dressed is like birds.
- 23:13Speaker 1: I love Ravens fans and that makes a great segue
- 23:17Speaker 1: to our guests today. I'm not sure how this is
- 23:19Speaker 1: gonna go. Our guests is one of the funniest people alive.
- 23:24Speaker 1: He is a sensation on YouTube, on TikTok, on Instagram,
- 23:30Speaker 1: and also on Netflix. His comedy specialists called the Fat Rascal.
- 23:37Speaker 1: He is a Baltimore native, and his character Ronnie has
- 23:42Speaker 1: taken over Baltimore social media pages and has even been
- 23:46Speaker 1: a guest of the Ravens because of just how damn
- 23:50Speaker 1: funny he is. I have no idea where this goes.
- 23:53Speaker 1: It could go off the rails. He is a hilarious comedian.
- 23:56Speaker 1: I love his podcast with no further further ado, Our
- 24:00Speaker 1: Guests after the break is stavros Halkis, all right, I'm
- 24:12Speaker 1: so excited for our guests today. They're fans that like
- 24:15Speaker 1: are celebrity fans, and they wear a hat and they
- 24:17Speaker 1: go to a game and it's like, yeah, no, I
- 24:19Speaker 1: definitely love the team. I definitely I love the team. Yeah, no, totally.
- 24:21Speaker 1: I could talk your team. And then you ask him
- 24:23Speaker 1: a little bit about the team and you realize quickly
- 24:25Speaker 1: that said fan is not really a fany just from
- 24:27Speaker 1: that area. Then there are guys like Staby Baby. This
- 24:31Speaker 1: is a halk Is he is on the podcast, and
- 24:35Speaker 1: before I even get into it, I have to tell
- 24:37Speaker 1: the listeners here who listened to this? And usually I've
- 24:39Speaker 1: got an NFL coach or an NFL general manager, like, right,
- 24:43Speaker 1: this is this is like a like one of my
- 24:45Speaker 1: dream guests because I listened to you. I go back
- 24:48Speaker 1: to your previous podcast, which you won't name the name
- 24:50Speaker 1: of it.
- 24:53Speaker 5: Should be, but even like Pandemic Sponsors, But even.
- 24:57Speaker 1: Pandemic, you and Sam Morrill had the basketball podcast, and
- 25:01Speaker 1: I would listen to that podcast. But now Staby Baby
- 25:04Speaker 1: is one of the most popular podcasts in the land.
- 25:08Speaker 1: Stavros Halkias is a Baltimore native through and through a
- 25:12Speaker 1: Greek American first generation save.
- 25:16Speaker 5: That's right, I'm the first one of my family born here.
- 25:18Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, so Greek American who has the pulse of
- 25:23Speaker 1: the Ravens fan base and has now found a whole
- 25:27Speaker 1: new thing, like whole new market and whole new fan
- 25:29Speaker 1: base with a character he does at the games known
- 25:33Speaker 1: as Ronnie Stavi. Where do you want to start? This
- 25:35Speaker 1: is an incredible run that the Ravens are on, and
- 25:38Speaker 1: you are part and sold this thing. From the fan perspective,
- 25:41Speaker 1: it's crazy, dude.
- 25:42Speaker 4: Yeah, thanks for having me on. By the way, I'm
- 25:43Speaker 4: a fan as well. I love your stuff and it's
- 25:46Speaker 4: crazy to be on an actual like the Ravens. Should
- 25:50Speaker 4: I start doing a character? I grew up in Baltimore.
- 25:53Speaker 4: I remember when we got the team. I remember, you know,
- 25:56Speaker 4: I was a football fan before the Ravens existed, Like
- 26:00Speaker 4: I remember, you know, rooting.
- 26:01Speaker 5: For uh, just watching the play.
- 26:04Speaker 4: I was really a Viking fan because okay, Randy Moss
- 26:08Speaker 4: was so good when I was I was, like, you know,
- 26:09Speaker 4: like I was young, I was like eight or I
- 26:11Speaker 4: don't exactly remember what it was, and he was so good.
- 26:14Speaker 4: So I made that the purple transition came real nice.
- 26:17Speaker 4: I remember, like I remember, like like that, I go
- 26:20Speaker 4: back to before the team existed. I go back to
- 26:22Speaker 4: being mad watching football and Thanksgiving at our family friend's
- 26:26Speaker 4: house because I come from a very Greek family. Where
- 26:29Speaker 4: my parents do not understand football. It's all about soccer.
- 26:33Speaker 4: We played soccer, well, I played high school football, and
- 26:35Speaker 4: my mom would come to my games and she would
- 26:37Speaker 4: like hear at all the wrong times, you know, like
- 26:40Speaker 4: I was in nose tackle. But I also kicked off
- 26:43Speaker 4: because I played soccer, and so she would just cheer
- 26:47Speaker 4: at the kickoffs, thinking I scored.
- 26:49Speaker 5: A goal, you know what I mean, Like that's what
- 26:51Speaker 5: she understood.
- 26:51Speaker 4: So there was no football happening in my immediate family,
- 26:54Speaker 4: but we had family friends we'd go to on Thanksgiving
- 26:57Speaker 4: and that was my like introduction those Thanksgiving games, and
- 27:01Speaker 4: I remember being mad. I was like, well, why don't
- 27:03Speaker 4: we have a team, And it was like pretty quickly
- 27:06Speaker 4: after that, I was you know, I was there. I
- 27:08Speaker 4: remember you go into a pun pass and kick contest.
- 27:11Speaker 4: We had Testaverdi out there, We had Stover out there.
- 27:15Speaker 4: I like I I have been a fan of Ravens
- 27:17Speaker 4: since it has come to Baltimore, and so I just
- 27:21Speaker 4: started messing around one day where I was just like
- 27:25Speaker 4: we've had and Lamar got me back in right like
- 27:27Speaker 4: I was kinda I love the flat goron obviously that
- 27:31Speaker 4: was the best.
- 27:31Speaker 5: But it was like we had a weird little lull there,
- 27:34Speaker 5: you know what I mean.
- 27:35Speaker 4: And it was like and I was also starting to
- 27:37Speaker 4: actually be an adult with responsibilities.
- 27:40Speaker 5: You couldn't yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 27:44Speaker 4: I could just get you know, with my friends and
- 27:46Speaker 4: just watch games and just gamble, you know, with a bookie,
- 27:49Speaker 4: and just that was my whole life. I was like, oh,
- 27:52Speaker 4: I should I started to travel for stand up and weirdly,
- 27:55Speaker 4: Sundays are travel days, you know. And I was like
- 27:57Speaker 4: and also, you know, uh, just I was just kind
- 28:01Speaker 4: of losing my you know, I was just kind of lose.
- 28:04Speaker 5: I was like, that was cool.
- 28:05Speaker 4: I was a die hard as a fan as a kid,
- 28:08Speaker 4: and the teams were great.
- 28:09Speaker 5: I enjoyed some great stuff.
- 28:10Speaker 4: But I was like, maybe it's time for me to
- 28:12Speaker 4: kind of like become a much more casual fan.
- 28:14Speaker 5: And I remember Draft day Lamar.
- 28:17Speaker 4: I was like, wait, this guy's not gonna fall There's
- 28:20Speaker 4: no way we're getting I.
- 28:21Speaker 5: Was literally headed on in the background as I'm.
- 28:23Speaker 4: Just you know, doing chores or something, and he keeps falling,
- 28:27Speaker 4: and I'm like, oh great. I remember being like, great,
- 28:29Speaker 4: the Patriots are gonna ever this guy and and and
- 28:32Speaker 4: they're gonna you know, they're gonna go right from Brady
- 28:35Speaker 4: the like I always thought, I never bought into, you know,
- 28:37Speaker 4: the whole the he's not gonna be good. I thought
- 28:40Speaker 4: the guy was awesome. And when we drafted Lamar, I
- 28:42Speaker 4: was like, I'm this is fifteen years I'm in, Like,
- 28:47Speaker 4: it's not the moment I knew. Yeah, I was like, so,
- 28:51Speaker 4: so I just re became a Diard fan and I
- 28:54Speaker 4: just started doing these dumb videos when we had a couple,
- 28:57Speaker 4: you know, a couple because starting from that the MVP run,
- 29:02Speaker 4: it was such a magical year, like watching Lamar really
- 29:05Speaker 4: become as himself that first time and then losing to
- 29:08Speaker 4: the Titans was so brutal that, you know, that first
- 29:12Speaker 4: playoff run that they had, and so that it kind
- 29:14Speaker 4: of but from then until now, we've had a lot
- 29:17Speaker 4: of these weird seasons that you can tell there's talent
- 29:20Speaker 4: on the team, and we had the whole contract dispute,
- 29:23Speaker 4: we had the whole everything, and so it was like
- 29:24Speaker 4: I was doing a lot of just I was frustrated
- 29:27Speaker 4: as a fan, and so I just channeled all that
- 29:31Speaker 4: into like a Baltimore Towney character named Ronnie from you know,
- 29:34Speaker 4: I don't want to get into too much specifics of
- 29:37Speaker 4: the OFT's.
- 29:39Speaker 1: Let's paint, let's paint where Ronnie's from and what Ronnie's
- 29:42Speaker 1: life is, because I think it is fair. Yes, so
- 29:44Speaker 1: you could say there are different types of Ravens fans
- 29:47Speaker 1: and they come from all wars of life and all
- 29:49Speaker 1: different Yes, yes, that's all different cultural backgrounds. But Ronnie's
- 29:53Speaker 1: a very Ronnie's a very specific one that I have
- 29:57Speaker 1: met and we get tweets from and they have their
- 30:00Speaker 1: thoughts on whether it's Jimmy seafood or their place that's
- 30:03Speaker 1: in their suburb, like it got.
- 30:07Speaker 5: Crab cakes.
- 30:07Speaker 4: Yes, yes, No, Ronnie is like I grew up in Greektown,
- 30:11Speaker 4: which is southeast Baltimore, and it kind of borders. There's
- 30:15Speaker 4: like a suburb technically a suburb that is worse somehow
- 30:19Speaker 4: than Baltimore City. Like it's like people, it's like it's
- 30:22Speaker 4: like just become it was I say, I say in
- 30:26Speaker 4: my act, it's like it was like white flight happened
- 30:29Speaker 4: and they instead of it's like people that were like, oh,
- 30:32Speaker 4: we have to get away from these urban centers, too
- 30:34Speaker 4: many black people moving in and then they just pick
- 30:37Speaker 4: made a city than the city they fled. And that's
- 30:41Speaker 4: and Ronnie is descended from that where it's like just
- 30:44Speaker 4: these kind of like dumb ass It's just like a
- 30:46Speaker 4: dumb ass that had you know, that just lived his
- 30:50Speaker 4: family left Baltimore a couple generations ago. They live in
- 30:54Speaker 4: a trash suburb. They're just like, you know, uh, like.
- 31:00Speaker 5: Small time criminals. You know, my weed deal.
- 31:02Speaker 4: The guy I bought weed from was like, you know
- 31:05Speaker 4: growing up, was a Ronnie style guy.
- 31:07Speaker 5: You know.
- 31:07Speaker 4: They're just like, you know, just white, just a nice
- 31:10Speaker 4: are nice type of white trash that everybody has their
- 31:14Speaker 4: own special kind of towny and we have like vintage
- 31:18Speaker 4: and it is like what's nice about it? It's a
- 31:20Speaker 4: cousin of the minute. All the mid Atlantic trash is
- 31:22Speaker 4: kind of connected.
- 31:24Speaker 5: So it's like Pittsburgh.
- 31:25Speaker 4: Even the Pittsburgh kind of yinser accent is sort of
- 31:28Speaker 4: that's an offshoot Philly definitely has. That's definitely Philly is
- 31:33Speaker 4: probably the closest Delco.
- 31:35Speaker 5: Yeah, the Delco that the very hard Oh's. You know.
- 31:39Speaker 4: I do a bit about it on my first YouTube
- 31:41Speaker 4: special on my first special on YouTube, where I just
- 31:44Speaker 4: kind of like, you know, they're just guys that have
- 31:47Speaker 4: way too much confidence for no reason. Have never achieved
- 31:50Speaker 4: anything in life. Uh don't, don't realize they're being racist,
- 31:54Speaker 4: but like, you know, like that, the character was always
- 31:57Speaker 4: the Ronnie loves and listen, I love Joe Flacco, but
- 32:00Speaker 4: Ronnie like loves Joe Flacco in a way that's like
- 32:03Speaker 4: he thinks modern. He thinks the Ravens last season when
- 32:06Speaker 4: Lamar was injured should have offered uh, you know, the
- 32:09Speaker 4: I believe he was on the Jets. He should have
- 32:11Speaker 4: offered the Jets Lamar in two first for flats for
- 32:14Speaker 4: the current day Flaco.
- 32:15Speaker 1: And it works so perfect because the last name, it's
- 32:21Speaker 1: just it's perfect for the aga.
- 32:24Speaker 4: Oh it's beautiful. I mean that was meant to be.
- 32:26Speaker 4: And shout out to Joe. He is that run. I mean,
- 32:30Speaker 4: I love you know, when we drafted Joe, I remember
- 32:32Speaker 4: that too, because you know, Baltimore was a quarterback wilderness.
- 32:36Speaker 4: I mean we went from like we we went with Dilpher,
- 32:39Speaker 4: we had Tony Banks, we went we you know, we
- 32:41Speaker 4: went with Dilfer and then I remember everyone saying like
- 32:46Speaker 4: Burdback's gonna be the savior, you know, like I remember
- 32:49Speaker 4: that that was our big free agents splash. He sucked
- 32:52Speaker 4: as soon as we got him. He completely went in
- 32:54Speaker 4: the tank. And then and then there's Bowler where we're like, oh,
- 32:57Speaker 4: this guy. And it was always like this thing of
- 33:00Speaker 4: you know, Brian Billick was because again offensive genius, and
- 33:05Speaker 4: it's like, okay, he had a defensive team. Now he
- 33:07Speaker 4: drafts his guy, he's gonna put his system in. And
- 33:11Speaker 4: it was Kyle Bowler, which no, you know, Kyle Boler
- 33:14Speaker 4: got a second contract somehow, salute to him. He figured
- 33:17Speaker 4: it out. He was dogs, you know, he was not good.
- 33:20Speaker 4: We had Chris Redman as a starting quarterback. Like it
- 33:23Speaker 4: was like we just went through it. And then when
- 33:26Speaker 4: Joe gets drafted, it's like, all right, this guy looks good.
- 33:30Speaker 4: And it's like but he he's from Delaware. It's like
- 33:33Speaker 4: we got to get It's like it's like it's like
- 33:35Speaker 4: he's just that's where we go to the bea. He's
- 33:37Speaker 4: like he's he went to Rahobi's Beach University.
- 33:40Speaker 5: What is this? And then and then you.
- 33:42Speaker 4: See that secret yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, University
- 33:47Speaker 4: of Secrets. But then I saw I saw one of
- 33:49Speaker 4: those beautiful spirals, and I was like, I'm all in.
- 33:52Speaker 5: He was perfect.
- 33:53Speaker 4: We were so good for so long with him and
- 33:56Speaker 4: and I love I definitely, I definitely know that I
- 33:59Speaker 4: just want to be on the record.
- 34:00Speaker 5: No disrespected Joe, one of my favorite players.
- 34:03Speaker 4: But those guys really, you know, they latch onto him
- 34:06Speaker 4: Ron these favorite players are all you know, Todd Heap,
- 34:09Speaker 4: Tony Sarrah Goosa. There's a pattern. There's a pattern, you know.
- 34:16Speaker 4: But I saw I'm doing these dumb videos when just
- 34:19Speaker 4: to like just to get some steam out, just to like,
- 34:22Speaker 4: you know, make fun of these guys, but also there
- 34:25Speaker 4: it's a it's a safe space for me to get
- 34:27Speaker 4: all my dumbest fan takes out, you know what I mean,
- 34:30Speaker 4: Like there's a part of me that you know, just
- 34:32Speaker 4: believes all a little bit of it, and.
- 34:35Speaker 5: They just kind of kept I was just doing them
- 34:38Speaker 5: for fun.
- 34:39Speaker 4: And you know, it's not like my audience, my stand
- 34:41Speaker 4: up audience is like a big sports not a big
- 34:43Speaker 4: sports fan. But you know, like I did the bat
- 34:45Speaker 4: if anything. If I had any fans, it was like
- 34:47Speaker 4: basketball fans. Because I used to work for MSG, me
- 34:50Speaker 4: and my Sam Moreau, we did a we did a
- 34:53Speaker 4: show for the MSG network.
- 34:54Speaker 5: I was a writer for it.
- 34:56Speaker 4: Then me and Sam did our own basketball podcast for
- 34:59Speaker 4: years and I was just a really big hoops junkie.
- 35:01Speaker 4: But these videos were really just for me. It's not
- 35:04Speaker 4: even like my fan base like them. Some people were
- 35:07Speaker 4: mad that I was doing.
- 35:08Speaker 1: Your podcast is all life advice stuff and like yeah great,
- 35:12Speaker 1: and then you have this whole other character, Ronnie, that
- 35:15Speaker 1: I think is like as a whole of their life
- 35:17Speaker 1: with a whole other different fan base, and.
- 35:19Speaker 5: It was really just for me. Like that's the thing.
- 35:20Speaker 4: It's like there was no strategy of like like in hindsight,
- 35:25Speaker 4: it was if you're going to be cynical, you're like, well,
- 35:27Speaker 4: football is the most the most popular sport, you need
- 35:30Speaker 4: to It's like it's almost like somebody in a boardroom
- 35:33Speaker 4: was like, hey, you really got to hit this quadrant,
- 35:36Speaker 4: you know what I mean. But that was that was
- 35:41Speaker 4: not it at all. I just I just loved I
- 35:44Speaker 4: was doing it really for me in a way where
- 35:46Speaker 4: it's like I could have even not posted these videos
- 35:48Speaker 4: and just done it as Catharsis.
- 35:51Speaker 5: And then I started.
- 35:51Speaker 4: Putting them out and uh, you know, they were doing
- 35:55Speaker 4: pretty well. And I think when I was promoting my special,
- 35:58Speaker 4: I went on every platform possible my first special, and
- 36:01Speaker 4: so part of that was the you know, the Barstool Guys,
- 36:04Speaker 4: The Cat and uh pft, I went on one on
- 36:06Speaker 4: their show. But I love that show, and I think
- 36:08Speaker 4: that was kind of I did the character there because it's.
- 36:11Speaker 5: Like you got to do it, you know, that's just
- 36:13Speaker 5: fun to do. They get it. And I think that's
- 36:15Speaker 5: when it kind of picked up a little bit.
- 36:16Speaker 4: And then it just coincided with this magical Raging season
- 36:21Speaker 4: where it was like, you know, it's been a it's
- 36:23Speaker 4: been a crazy lucky year for me, and I think
- 36:25Speaker 4: it all kind of like, and I don't want to
- 36:28Speaker 4: nobody clip this if it goes bad, but my my
- 36:31Speaker 4: thirty fifth birthday is February eleventh.
- 36:33Speaker 5: I'm just saying. I'm just saying it feels.
- 36:37Speaker 4: You know, it's starting to sitting, just starting to swirl,
- 36:40Speaker 4: starting to feel really good.
- 36:42Speaker 5: And look, Lamar's I'm sorry, I'm hopped up. I just
- 36:44Speaker 5: woke up. I'm pumped to just be talking Ravens when
- 36:48Speaker 5: we're so good in.
- 36:49Speaker 1: Late January talking Ravens late January.
- 36:52Speaker 4: We're Lamar and Lamar approved every every hating pieces wrong
- 36:57Speaker 4: that I mean that second half. Me and my brother,
- 36:59Speaker 4: I take my I take my brother Nick to these games.
- 37:03Speaker 5: Trainer he's a trainer.
- 37:05Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I don't think he wants that
- 37:07Speaker 4: publicized right now. I think he wants to maybe to
- 37:10Speaker 4: get me in the gym a couple of months before
- 37:11Speaker 4: he starts taking ownership of it. But yeah, we did
- 37:15Speaker 4: a training series and I've only gotten fatter since then.
- 37:18Speaker 5: I don't know how it's helping.
- 37:19Speaker 4: His business, but I'm there with my brother, and that
- 37:22Speaker 4: first half was It's an amazing experience. You know, the
- 37:26Speaker 4: Ravens let me somehow these dumb videos. The Ravens were like, yeah,
- 37:31Speaker 4: come do I couldn't curse on the official ones, but
- 37:33Speaker 4: it's like they still let me do.
- 37:35Speaker 5: I still, you know, I get to write these things.
- 37:37Speaker 4: I get to still be a criminal that the Ravens
- 37:39Speaker 4: led into their thing, and so they gave us great seats.
- 37:44Speaker 4: We're sitting there watching the whole game, and that first
- 37:47Speaker 4: half was like that kickback was like, damn, this.
- 37:51Speaker 5: Is how a worst team beats a good team.
- 37:53Speaker 4: They hanged around and it was every and at first
- 37:56Speaker 4: I felt a little bit about what everybody was criticizing
- 37:59Speaker 4: Lamar for where it was like this season, I think
- 38:01Speaker 4: what really separated him was he just proved the thing
- 38:04Speaker 4: I think everybody who believed in him thought, which is like, no,
- 38:07Speaker 4: this that he can pass as well as he can run.
- 38:10Speaker 4: That's what makes him super elite. And I think in
- 38:13Speaker 4: the first half maybe you could argue he went a
- 38:16Speaker 4: little too like, you know, abandoned his reads and just
- 38:20Speaker 4: ran whenever, whenever things were getting a little dicey. And
- 38:22Speaker 4: then that second and I'm sitting there with my brother
- 38:24Speaker 4: and I'm like, dude, the vibes are a little right now.
- 38:27Speaker 4: That's where I said going to the second half, but
- 38:29Speaker 4: I didn't. I was like, we're not panicking yet. Here's
- 38:32Speaker 4: what needs happened. He's got to come out, we get
- 38:34Speaker 4: the ball, step on their throats, prove who he is.
- 38:37Speaker 4: And you say, like your best case scenario, you say
- 38:40Speaker 4: it out loud, and you think it's not gonna go
- 38:42Speaker 4: that good.
- 38:42Speaker 5: But at least it went even better.
- 38:45Speaker 4: Now, it went even better than I possibly could have expected.
- 38:47Speaker 4: And I was like, that's it, that's the guy. It
- 38:50Speaker 4: all snacked into focus. And I think that first half
- 38:53Speaker 4: was good because I also think it's kind of us
- 38:56Speaker 4: exercising a little bit of our total. You know, we
- 38:59Speaker 4: had a couple of weird We had a couple of
- 39:01Speaker 4: weird losses too. I mean, this team could have had
- 39:04Speaker 4: like one.
- 39:05Speaker 5: Loss if you really Steelers. This Brown's game was weird.
- 39:12Speaker 4: This the first Steelers, like, you know whatever, the last
- 39:14Speaker 4: Seelers game we don't have anything to play for, it
- 39:16Speaker 4: was raining, who gives it? But that first Steelers game
- 39:18Speaker 4: we should have won for sure, And so it just
- 39:21Speaker 4: felt good. It felt like we're really it's good to
- 39:24Speaker 4: muck up a little bit. Sometimes coming out of the
- 39:27Speaker 4: by it could be weird. Teams can feel flat, and
- 39:29Speaker 4: it really felt like we did that. And I am
- 39:33Speaker 4: pummed to be playing the Chiefs. I'm pumped to like
- 39:36Speaker 4: to get Lamar, Like Lamar Vus Mahomes is what you want.
- 39:38Speaker 4: You want him to go out there and prove it
- 39:40Speaker 4: because I've you know, I've always thought he's just good.
- 39:43Speaker 4: I really truly believe that. I mean, Mahomes is the man,
- 39:45Speaker 4: of course, and he's he's got the Super Bowls. But
- 39:49Speaker 4: when Lamar puts it together, and let's not forget this
- 39:52Speaker 4: is you know, Lamar was kind of thrust into a
- 39:54Speaker 4: weird situation, whereas like Mahomes got to kind of slowly
- 39:59Speaker 4: come along, had a better had better weapons right away.
- 40:02Speaker 5: You know what I mean. I mean Lamar, who was
- 40:04Speaker 5: Lamar throwing to until this year?
- 40:06Speaker 1: You're crazy? It is different.
- 40:07Speaker 5: Yeah, And it's like so it's I feel like Lamar
- 40:11Speaker 5: is finally at a plaace.
- 40:13Speaker 4: Where he has the team that matches his talent, and
- 40:17Speaker 4: I'm happy. And it's almost like, you know, the cowards
- 40:20Speaker 4: way is not having to face you know, the guy
- 40:24Speaker 4: who's his generations, you know, top.
- 40:27Speaker 5: But I don't want the cowards away. Let's go earn it.
- 40:29Speaker 4: Let's let's go beat these mothers and then go to
- 40:31Speaker 4: the super Bowl and you know, whoever, whether it's I
- 40:35Speaker 4: think both those teams hopefully, like you know, I'm not
- 40:38Speaker 4: even in if it's not us, it's someone else category
- 40:41Speaker 4: because I can't even think that way.
- 40:43Speaker 5: But like, good for the lines if they're there, the Niners.
- 40:46Speaker 4: You know, those are both good teams that are are
- 40:49Speaker 4: very worthy super Bowl opponents.
- 40:50Speaker 1: So you guys, you guys bet both of them.
- 40:54Speaker 5: Yeah, both those teams up, which you know that's a
- 40:57Speaker 5: good sign.
- 40:58Speaker 4: It's not it's not the you know, you never, especially
- 41:00Speaker 4: a guy like Shanahan, you never want to like it's
- 41:03Speaker 4: almost like exactly give them too week and you know
- 41:07Speaker 4: he finally won his first game trailing in the fourth quarter.
- 41:10Speaker 4: So you know, you don't want you don't want to
- 41:11Speaker 4: get him hot.
- 41:12Speaker 1: But I listened to to you talk football. It's like,
- 41:16Speaker 1: you know you're I listened to Dan soder talk about
- 41:19Speaker 1: either his boy McDaniel with the Dolphins or his Niners,
- 41:23Speaker 1: and it's like, you guys, know know your stuff. Who
- 41:25Speaker 1: are the comedians? And I know your crew is like
- 41:29Speaker 1: normand and Soda and Joe listeners. Who are the ones
- 41:32Speaker 1: who are like football fans, not just oh there's a
- 41:34Speaker 1: football game on all hang with the boys?
- 41:37Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean Liszt definitely listens Patriots.
- 41:40Speaker 1: Who is he?
- 41:41Speaker 5: Who's he Patriots? Of course? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, but
- 41:43Speaker 5: he knows.
- 41:44Speaker 4: I mean, he's a he likes like he'll just go
- 41:47Speaker 4: to a college He'll be on off and he'll go
- 41:49Speaker 4: to like a college basketball game of two unranked teams.
- 41:52Speaker 4: He just loves the like he loves sports is like
- 41:54Speaker 4: a traditional American way, like in the he loves it
- 41:57Speaker 4: as part of the culture. And obviously he's been very
- 41:59Speaker 4: lucky to have the Patriots be so good for so long.
- 42:02Speaker 4: You know, so you said it's Soda, He's literally boys
- 42:05Speaker 4: with McDaniels, like, but he's been a he's been a
- 42:10Speaker 4: football fan of his whole life. It's super important to him.
- 42:13Speaker 4: Dam is definitely more of a you know, Sam is
- 42:15Speaker 4: definitely more of a hoops guy.
- 42:18Speaker 5: But hoops he knows everything about.
- 42:21Speaker 4: And then you know, Bill Burr is kind of like
- 42:24Speaker 4: the I don't know Burr personally, we've barely met, but
- 42:27Speaker 4: it's like he's kind of like the super fan. I
- 42:29Speaker 4: mean that mother loves sports so much, and so it's
- 42:32Speaker 4: like guys that run with him all. You know, Paul
- 42:34Speaker 4: Verzu I'm gonna have on my podcast soon. But he's
- 42:37Speaker 4: a big sports guy.
- 42:37Speaker 5: I mean, you have.
- 42:39Speaker 4: That's what's interesting is like a lot of a lot
- 42:40Speaker 4: of comics and obviously Shane Gillis, I mean, Jane is
- 42:43Speaker 4: a huge play Shane.
- 42:45Speaker 1: Shane was talking to it. He was he was being
- 42:47Speaker 1: interviewed by like I think the ovonn last week and
- 42:49Speaker 1: he's talking about how Gabe Davis of the Bills one
- 42:51Speaker 1: of his best friends. I'm like, what is this crossover?
- 42:53Speaker 1: I love yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 42:54Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, No, they're Gabe Davis does like does touchdown
- 42:59Speaker 4: celebrations of like fat little Brazilians that like Shane, his
- 43:04Speaker 4: little videos Shane has seen like he does, Shane's chordatorographed
- 43:09Speaker 4: touchdown celebrate. I'm trying to get to that. I'm trying
- 43:11Speaker 4: to get to that level of touchdown celebrations. But you know,
- 43:15Speaker 4: but yeah, Shane is a huge football fan for sure.
- 43:18Speaker 4: But yeah, man, I mean there's a lot of you know,
- 43:21Speaker 4: a lot of these guys, A lot of people love it.
- 43:23Speaker 5: You know, it matters a lot to people.
- 43:25Speaker 4: And then you know a lot of sports, a lot
- 43:27Speaker 4: of comics or fans of other sports too. Basketball fighting
- 43:30Speaker 4: is huge obviously. But yeah, those are I mean, those
- 43:33Speaker 4: are especially my circle. Those are the guys Soda for sure,
- 43:36Speaker 4: Soda and Shane, I would say, for sure.
- 43:38Speaker 1: When you really blew up from my eyes from like
- 43:40Speaker 1: a national standpoint or got more mainstream was when you
- 43:43Speaker 1: had the YouTube special. I think it was post pandemic,
- 43:47Speaker 1: and it was like when that hits and all of
- 43:49Speaker 1: a sudden you're looking at it and there's twenty million
- 43:51Speaker 1: views on YouTube, like your life changes overnight.
- 43:54Speaker 4: Right, Yeah, it was really weird because you think, you think,
- 44:00Speaker 4: like you start doing comedy and you're like, I'll get
- 44:02Speaker 4: on HBO or I'll get on Comedy Central. Or I'll
- 44:05Speaker 4: get on TV and that's when people will know who
- 44:08Speaker 4: you know, that's when like, that's where I'll get a
- 44:11Speaker 4: little notoriety and maybe people know who I am. And
- 44:13Speaker 4: really what happened to me was just posting on the
- 44:16Speaker 4: internet what like it was like. And to be honest
- 44:20Speaker 4: with you, it was like it was like before the special.
- 44:23Speaker 4: It was my weird little strategy to post crowd work
- 44:26Speaker 4: clips that I never thought would be the successful.
- 44:31Speaker 1: Crowd which is.
- 44:32Speaker 5: Of course, sorry.
- 44:33Speaker 1: Controversial right now with a lot of these comedians who
- 44:35Speaker 1: strictly do crowd.
- 44:36Speaker 5: Work, right, and I get that too.
- 44:39Speaker 4: I mean, so basically, crowd work is, you know, there's
- 44:42Speaker 4: stand up comedy and crowd work is like any moment
- 44:44Speaker 4: that's kind of off the cuff, you're talking.
- 44:46Speaker 5: To the crowd.
- 44:47Speaker 4: Traditionally, it's like you know your acts, the jokes you
- 44:52Speaker 4: write there prepared and there's a little bit of there's
- 44:54Speaker 4: a little bit of you know, improvisation or if something
- 44:57Speaker 4: happens in the room, you address it and I think
- 45:01Speaker 4: for the moment.
- 45:02Speaker 5: And there were.
- 45:03Speaker 4: Always some comics who their thing was all crowd work,
- 45:07Speaker 4: all talking to the crowd, all improvising, and they were
- 45:09Speaker 4: really good at it, and they kind of like really
- 45:11Speaker 4: worked on it as as skill, and I think for
- 45:13Speaker 4: most of us, you would do a little of it.
- 45:15Speaker 5: Like the way I approached it was.
- 45:17Speaker 4: Like I didn't want people to think I was a
- 45:21Speaker 4: kind of robot. Then I was just going to get
- 45:23Speaker 4: out there and do my jokes. I always saw crowd
- 45:25Speaker 4: work as a way to engage the crowd a little bit,
- 45:27Speaker 4: talk to them for the first five minutes or so,
- 45:31Speaker 4: maybe make some jokes, really form some because that's what's
- 45:33Speaker 4: special about stand up is every show is its own thing.
- 45:36Speaker 4: Every show is different and every audience. I mean, you'll
- 45:40Speaker 4: never even if you do the same exact jokes, you'll
- 45:43Speaker 4: never have that group of people in the same room
- 45:45Speaker 4: under the same conditions ever again. And I really enjoy
- 45:48Speaker 4: that because every show is a little different, the energy
- 45:51Speaker 4: is a little different, and so I always wanted to
- 45:53Speaker 4: kind of ingratiate myself by not just going right into
- 45:56Speaker 4: my material but kind of talking to people. But that
- 45:58Speaker 4: was always, you know, I would do it for five
- 46:02Speaker 4: minutes out of an hour, and when I was and
- 46:05Speaker 4: I had to self producer special because nobody was interested
- 46:09Speaker 4: in my hour.
- 46:10Speaker 1: Did you try shopping it like you were on the
- 46:12Speaker 1: four for years. I mean, know, you opened for Robert
- 46:14Speaker 1: Kelly for years, and like you go and you have
- 46:16Speaker 1: these meetings with like Comedy Central and HBO and Netflix
- 46:19Speaker 1: and TB and whatever else, and they're just like, no,
- 46:21Speaker 1: we're not interesting.
- 46:22Speaker 5: Yeah. Yeah.
- 46:23Speaker 4: I mean I think a lot of that was the pandemic.
- 46:25Speaker 4: I think, you know, some of these places were kind
- 46:27Speaker 4: of rethinking their strategies. A lot of them were kind
- 46:30Speaker 4: of cash strap, and I think I just didn't have enough.
- 46:34Speaker 5: People didn't know me as a stand.
- 46:36Speaker 4: Up comic thing give me as a podcaster, and I
- 46:40Speaker 4: don't think I had enough clout to really make it happen.
- 46:42Speaker 4: So I tried a couple of places were sort of interested,
- 46:44Speaker 4: but I didn't want to wait around, and I just
- 46:48Speaker 4: decided I'm gonna shoot it myself.
- 46:50Speaker 5: I'm gonna put you know, a bunch of money into it.
- 46:53Speaker 4: But I had no I had a small YouTube following,
- 46:55Speaker 4: but I didn't have a big one. So I figured
- 46:57Speaker 4: I'll post old jokes and get people to like because
- 47:00Speaker 4: people had been, you know, on TikTok, people had been
- 47:03Speaker 4: engaging with comedy that way. This is like twenty twenty one,
- 47:06Speaker 4: I think, when so I had seen it, and Sam,
- 47:10Speaker 4: like my buddy Sam, had been doing really well other comics,
- 47:13Speaker 4: Mark Norman had been doing really well doing short form stuff.
- 47:15Speaker 4: And I remember thinking like, ah, that's dumb, that's a
- 47:18Speaker 4: waste of time. I was, and these guys are in
- 47:20Speaker 4: theaters off the strength of that, and so I'm like,
- 47:22Speaker 4: all right, Well, I got to figure something out.
- 47:24Speaker 5: And so I posted.
- 47:25Speaker 4: Old jokes because I was also a purist, right, I
- 47:28Speaker 4: was like, crowd works, bullsh it's it's all about the jokes.
- 47:31Speaker 4: And then I posted all the old jokes. I didn't
- 47:33Speaker 4: want to do it anymore, and that they were gone
- 47:35Speaker 4: in like six days. And then I was like, all right,
- 47:39Speaker 4: I guess let's see. And I had been preparing. I'd
- 47:42Speaker 4: been trying to get a crowd work. I'd been trying
- 47:43Speaker 4: to get a comedy ES Central half hour for about
- 47:46Speaker 4: a year, and I think maybe that would have happened
- 47:48Speaker 4: if the pandemic didn't happen. So I had recorded every
- 47:52Speaker 4: set I did for a for a year. I was
- 47:55Speaker 4: on my I was on my ed red you know,
- 47:57Speaker 4: play what you know, watching the game tape back.
- 48:00Speaker 5: So yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, this joke.
- 48:05Speaker 4: We got to get it down in two minutes. It's
- 48:07Speaker 4: running long, you know, And so I would I was
- 48:11Speaker 4: a nerd, and then I would watch a lot of
- 48:13Speaker 4: my old film, a lot of my old shows to
- 48:15Speaker 4: kind of squeak jokes. And so I just cut up
- 48:18Speaker 4: all those random moments of crowd work that I told
- 48:20Speaker 4: you before I never thought would amount anything. I was
- 48:23Speaker 4: just doing to ingratiate myself to the crowd. And I
- 48:26Speaker 4: was like, we'll see if anything happens here, and just
- 48:29Speaker 4: they started doing so well.
- 48:31Speaker 5: I was shocked.
- 48:32Speaker 4: And I had about a year's worth of those clips
- 48:34Speaker 4: and I just posted them to try and get people
- 48:36Speaker 4: to follow me on YouTube, and it really worked. And yeah, dude,
- 48:40Speaker 4: from that moment on, it was like it was like
- 48:42Speaker 4: there was no big moment. There was no big like
- 48:45Speaker 4: my life has changed moment. There was like one day
- 48:48Speaker 4: it was actually in Vegas. I was shooting a short
- 48:50Speaker 4: film and a bunch of you know, Vega is such
- 48:54Speaker 4: a populated area walking down walking back to Fremont Street. Yeah,
- 48:58Speaker 4: and I was getting that and I was like, what
- 49:00Speaker 4: the hell is going And it was like people that
- 49:02Speaker 4: you know, it was like older couples, it was like night,
- 49:06Speaker 4: younger women. It was just like not you know my
- 49:09Speaker 4: my podcast which we cannot legally can't say the name
- 49:12Speaker 4: of because it has has a bodily fluid in the
- 49:15Speaker 4: title of it. It was pretty successful and it helped
- 49:17Speaker 4: me like get my start and start touring. But it
- 49:20Speaker 4: was it was like very online, very niche, and so
- 49:23Speaker 4: I'm not just out in Vegas and it's just like
- 49:25Speaker 4: all age groups, all different types of people, and it
- 49:29Speaker 4: was like, I was like, what the hell is going
- 49:31Speaker 4: on here? What happened? And it was justgy people watch YouTube.
- 49:34Speaker 4: It turns out who knows and who knew? And it
- 49:37Speaker 4: really completely changed my career and I'm so thankful for it.
- 49:40Speaker 4: And you know, a year later, got a Netflix special
- 49:43Speaker 4: and hopefully hopefully knock on wood, my favorite team's going
- 49:46Speaker 4: to the going to the super Bowl to.
- 49:47Speaker 1: Turn it up the right way. Yeah, The Fat Rascal
- 49:49Speaker 1: is the Netflix special, which I loved and I texted you,
- 49:52Speaker 1: I'm like, it's tremendous. It's great.
- 49:54Speaker 5: Appreciate that.
- 49:55Speaker 1: Yeah, the Ravens putting their social media team and letting
- 49:59Speaker 1: you kind of do your thing. I'm amazed by it.
- 50:02Speaker 1: Like to be validated that way where your stuff is
- 50:04Speaker 1: so blue usually and so and you're so smart that's
- 50:08Speaker 1: the thing. I listened to your podcast and like it's you,
- 50:11Speaker 1: and it's it's your producer and you guys have on
- 50:13Speaker 1: a guest every week and then you take calls from listeners.
- 50:15Speaker 1: But like, you're really smart, you're well read, and like
- 50:18Speaker 1: I could tell that this this, this is fun, but
- 50:21Speaker 1: you also could probably do anything you wanted. Then you
- 50:24Speaker 1: choose to do this comedy route and then to have
- 50:26Speaker 1: the Ravens.
- 50:27Speaker 4: I don't know about that. I appreciate it, but I
- 50:29Speaker 4: think this is have these skills. These are the skills.
- 50:33Speaker 4: If this goes away, I'm I'll tell you that much enough.
- 50:36Speaker 1: You're thirty five. You're doing all right. And I love
- 50:40Speaker 1: that you're in a story of queens. That's where you live.
- 50:43Speaker 5: Anywhere.
- 50:43Speaker 1: I love that you're You didn't do the Austin, Texas thing.
- 50:46Speaker 1: You didn't follow everyone.
- 50:50Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I love it. Austin's cool. It's a
- 50:53Speaker 5: nice place to visit. You know. I liked it. They
- 50:56Speaker 5: have a scene there.
- 50:57Speaker 4: But ultimately, and I thought it, to be honest, I
- 51:00Speaker 4: thought about it. Yeah, a lot of you know, a
- 51:01Speaker 4: lot of my friends live down there. But I just
- 51:03Speaker 4: do love New York. I love the East cost I mean,
- 51:05Speaker 4: I'm an East Coast guy. Really, That's what it comes
- 51:07Speaker 4: down to. I love Baltimore. I I have a place
- 51:09Speaker 4: there still, and I'm trying to spend a little more
- 51:11Speaker 4: time there. You know. My family's all over there still,
- 51:14Speaker 4: and so I like being on the East Coast. I
- 51:17Speaker 4: just like New York is the best city. It's that's
- 51:19Speaker 4: the best city.
- 51:21Speaker 1: The same thing. You know, my co host and you probably.
- 51:24Speaker 5: Should be living in l A.
- 51:25Speaker 1: Yeah, it should be there every weekend for Fox, but
- 51:27Speaker 1: like here in New York.
- 51:29Speaker 5: Uh.
- 51:30Speaker 1: You know my co hosts nothing against them, they got families,
- 51:32Speaker 1: they love it. They're in the burbs there in Jersey there,
- 51:34Speaker 1: and I'm like, I live in Brooklyn. I love it here.
- 51:37Speaker 1: I just I get feed off the energy, and I think,
- 51:40Speaker 1: you know, there's also the sense of pride that like, yeah,
- 51:42Speaker 1: we stuck around like we're here, We're no, it's justick.
- 51:45Speaker 4: And then it really when people talk about New York,
- 51:47Speaker 4: it really sounds like someone making an abusive relationship at work,
- 51:51Speaker 4: you know what I mean.
- 51:51Speaker 5: Where it's like, yeah, no it is.
- 51:53Speaker 4: It's expensive and you know, I don't have an extra
- 51:56Speaker 4: room and the get my guest room.
- 51:58Speaker 5: You cannot stay with.
- 51:59Speaker 4: Me sorry hotel uh and yeah my heat hasn't worked
- 52:02Speaker 4: for two months. But hey, greatest city in the world, baby,
- 52:05Speaker 4: But I I feel that bride where it's like, yeah,
- 52:09Speaker 4: it takes a lot to make it work here, and
- 52:10Speaker 4: I'm very I am happy to be able to kind of.
- 52:12Speaker 5: Found my niche.
- 52:13Speaker 4: And you know, because it first couple of years I
- 52:16Speaker 4: was here, man, I was like so depressed. I'm living
- 52:18Speaker 4: in a three bedroom with and it was like it
- 52:22Speaker 4: was brutal.
- 52:23Speaker 5: But we did it.
- 52:24Speaker 4: We're in Queens, were doing well. We got we got
- 52:26Speaker 4: a podcast studio, my spare bedroom. I'm living.
- 52:28Speaker 5: I'm living the dream.
- 52:31Speaker 1: So the Ravens, they they're like, we're gonna bring you
- 52:34Speaker 1: in officially as like at Ravens, and you're gonna like
- 52:36Speaker 1: represent us. Of course, there's rules and grounds and rules
- 52:39Speaker 1: of what you can say, what you can't say and
- 52:40Speaker 1: all this stuff, but like, how surreal you're wearing. I
- 52:43Speaker 1: think it was an Ogden jersey. You're you're there on
- 52:46Speaker 1: the field, and I'm like, my wife is from my
- 52:49Speaker 1: wife's from my wife from Baltimore. She's diehard Ravens. Her
- 52:52Speaker 1: family's on it. She's like she's like your your comedian
- 52:55Speaker 1: friend is doing stuff with the Ravens social media. I'm like,
- 52:57Speaker 1: he's what.
- 52:59Speaker 5: I know.
- 53:00Speaker 4: I know it is really funny to get the because
- 53:02Speaker 4: the Ravens are so cool and because like they let
- 53:06Speaker 4: me do you know, I do some on their channel
- 53:08Speaker 4: and obviously I have to I can't be it because
- 53:11Speaker 4: the character is ignorant, uh, sexually explicit race tolerance, you know,
- 53:17Speaker 4: you know it's like and so obviously I can't do
- 53:20Speaker 4: that stuff. But there is a there is still a
- 53:22Speaker 4: like a humor to them where it's like, yeah, you
- 53:25Speaker 4: can do a joke, you can do a version of
- 53:27Speaker 4: this that doesn't have to be dirty. But to their credit,
- 53:29Speaker 4: they're not the stuff. I still do the character on
- 53:31Speaker 4: my own and you could, you know, you could work
- 53:35Speaker 4: with a with a brand or like an organization. It's like, hey,
- 53:38Speaker 4: while you're doing this stuff for us, can you on
- 53:40Speaker 4: your own stuff? Can you like not be is dirty?
- 53:44Speaker 4: And to their credit there let me do whatever I will.
- 53:46Speaker 4: They're like, hey, do whatever you want, like that's your thing.
- 53:49Speaker 4: I just can't do it from like like that. The
- 53:52Speaker 4: only the only thing they ever asked are like, hey,
- 53:54Speaker 4: don't do it when we give you field access, because
- 53:57Speaker 4: then it looks like we're basically signing all do this.
- 54:01Speaker 4: Do this from a public place where it was clear
- 54:04Speaker 4: you're doing it of your own volition. We're not gonna
- 54:06Speaker 4: step on your freedom of speech. But you know, so
- 54:09Speaker 4: they're they're the coolest people in the world to work
- 54:10Speaker 4: were within. Truly, I'm shocked and I feel so lucky
- 54:14Speaker 4: to be able to do this. I mean, it is
- 54:16Speaker 4: a dream come true where it's and it's like, you know,
- 54:19Speaker 4: I've had a good year, things have been great, and
- 54:20Speaker 4: I've done some cool stuff, but from it it just like,
- 54:23Speaker 4: you know, I literally was a little, a fat, little
- 54:27Speaker 4: sixth grader going into going into school the next day
- 54:31Speaker 4: on with a huge Papa John's hangover, just like celebrating
- 54:36Speaker 4: that win.
- 54:36Speaker 5: I remember that.
- 54:37Speaker 4: I still remember the day I'm in my med I'm
- 54:40Speaker 4: in you know, I sent my immigrant mother to buy
- 54:42Speaker 4: me a jersey, completely misunderstood, got me a weird mesh
- 54:45Speaker 4: practice jersey. You know all the you know, I had
- 54:47Speaker 4: no I wanted to. I wanted to Sarah Gusa, you know,
- 54:51Speaker 4: I wanted to. I want I wanted she comes with
- 54:53Speaker 4: the just the weird, wrong thing. But I'm in that
- 54:56Speaker 4: little weird mess Jersey day after, Like, I remember this,
- 54:59Speaker 4: this team has meant so much to me, and so
- 55:01Speaker 4: for all the like cool, you know, getting a SPECIALS grade,
- 55:04Speaker 4: getting to like do some acting stuff is cool. I
- 55:07Speaker 4: got to work with great really people I admire so much.
- 55:10Speaker 4: But from just like a human being, like your inner
- 55:13Speaker 4: child thing.
- 55:14Speaker 5: It's like I'm on the field.
- 55:16Speaker 4: I know Ravens like I you know, I'm wapping up
- 55:20Speaker 4: Gino Stone. My boy had seven interceptions. As you know,
- 55:23Speaker 4: he almost led the league. Uh he got robbed by
- 55:26Speaker 4: the way from the Pro Bowl. That's fucking bullshit.
- 55:29Speaker 5: Who got it?
- 55:30Speaker 4: The Steeler safety? Yeah, get that Monca Minca, Minca, the
- 55:37Speaker 4: Steelers Mica. Gino Stone should have been in the in
- 55:41Speaker 4: the Pro Bowl. You can bleep it out, but I
- 55:44Speaker 4: want that in there, donating.
- 55:46Speaker 5: The rest of the show.
- 55:47Speaker 1: You get in there. That's my oneder Man Green Eminem.
- 55:50Speaker 5: That's it's surreal, dude. Yeah.
- 55:55Speaker 1: Two things before before we wrap. Uh, you had me
- 55:59Speaker 1: this week when you mentioned the term Pulaski Highway. You
- 56:02Speaker 1: said that, and I'm like.
- 56:03Speaker 5: That is so.
- 56:06Speaker 1: Would you mind doing a sanitized version of Ronnie maybe
- 56:09Speaker 1: sixty seconds just to give the listeners as we've been
- 56:11Speaker 1: building it up just a feel for sure? Sure sure,
- 56:15Speaker 1: uh stoppy baby taking?
- 56:16Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, here we go, Okay, here we go.
- 56:20Speaker 5: Ravers are going to the super Bowl. Bring on the Chiefs.
- 56:22Speaker 5: Mahomes ot over rated.
- 56:24Speaker 4: We're gonna tell him you, we're gonna he won't be
- 56:26Speaker 4: able to walk after this game. Kelsey, he's a podcast
- 56:30Speaker 4: to you. That guy ain't a tight end.
- 56:32Speaker 5: No more. Hayes don't work.
- 56:34Speaker 4: Overrated, Pat don't know where he is? Is that Andy
- 56:38Speaker 4: Readers at Wolf for Brimley on the sidelines. I don't
- 56:40Speaker 4: know we're winning the super Bowl? Baby, I put it.
- 56:43Speaker 4: I just opened up a credit card on my son's name.
- 56:46Speaker 4: I bet fifty thousand dollars on the Ravens winning.
- 56:48Speaker 5: Let's do this. Let's go Ravens.
- 56:51Speaker 1: Perfect. It's perfect.
- 56:52Speaker 5: That's it.
- 56:53Speaker 1: It's perfect. Did you don't even say the words Jacoba
- 56:56Speaker 1: Jones or Joe Flatch.
- 56:57Speaker 5: Keb Yeah, I did. I mention Kobe Doo. That's another
- 57:01Speaker 5: surreal thing. He was just at the thing. It's dude crazy.
- 57:05Speaker 1: Uh will you be there this weekend?
- 57:08Speaker 4: So I have a I have shows in Dallas. It's Saturday.
- 57:12Speaker 4: I get my last show Saturday at midnight. I am
- 57:14Speaker 4: taking here's how much I love the Ravens. I'm taking
- 57:17Speaker 4: a five thirty am flight to get there. It's the
- 57:21Speaker 4: only direct I could find.
- 57:24Speaker 1: What is this Dallas to Baltimore now.
- 57:27Speaker 4: West bro That's how much I love the organization. I'm waking,
- 57:31Speaker 4: I'm sleeping for one hour.
- 57:32Speaker 5: I'm gonna be hopped up, but I can't. I couldn't
- 57:34Speaker 5: miss it.
- 57:35Speaker 4: I could like if the Ravens is right year, the
- 57:37Speaker 4: AFS Championship the only the first time we've hosted. We've
- 57:40Speaker 4: always gone through, you know, we've never been renumber one seed.
- 57:43Speaker 4: When we got to the super Bowl, Uh, it's special.
- 57:46Speaker 4: And that being there last week was so special. I'd
- 57:49Speaker 4: gone to regular season games, but man, I mean you
- 57:52Speaker 4: saw it in the how many how many false starts?
- 57:56Speaker 4: And I've seen Patrick Mahomes talking about how he has
- 57:58Speaker 4: to use a silent account. It's one of the few
- 57:59Speaker 4: places we're not going to make it easy on them.
- 58:02Speaker 4: I want to be a part of that. I you know,
- 58:04Speaker 4: they gave the opportunity, they invited.
- 58:05Speaker 5: Me, So what am I gonna say no to that?
- 58:07Speaker 1: I'll make it.
- 58:08Speaker 4: I mean to be honest with you, I was real
- 58:10Speaker 4: close from cancering those Dallas shows. I canceled on them
- 58:15Speaker 4: last time, so this is the makeup and and to
- 58:17Speaker 4: be clear, I canceled last time because I didn't I
- 58:21Speaker 4: shot my special the night before and I was like,
- 58:23Speaker 4: I want to go to Dallas and do I want
- 58:24Speaker 4: to have a barbecue and take the next day. So
- 58:28Speaker 4: I cancel on them to just get up with my friends.
- 58:31Speaker 4: So I can't really again, I'm canceling for a football game.
- 58:35Speaker 5: This time is like real disrespect.
- 58:37Speaker 4: And Dallas has been throwing enough and they will continue
- 58:39Speaker 4: to be to be going through enough.
- 58:41Speaker 5: They still got McCarthy over there there.
- 58:43Speaker 1: They'll figure it out.
- 58:44Speaker 4: They're not they're not winning, so they you know, they
- 58:47Speaker 4: at least need a uh couple pick me up that way.
- 58:51Speaker 1: The other thing is this Chiefs team comes with a
- 58:54Speaker 1: certain celebrity factor to them, with Taylor and Jason Kelsey
- 58:58Speaker 1: and the whole thing. Well received in Baltimore, taunted. How
- 59:04Speaker 1: does that go?
- 59:06Speaker 4: Yeah, it's it's interesting. I don't think they will be
- 59:10Speaker 4: well received. I mean, they are so famous where it's like,
- 59:13Speaker 4: you know, and you don't want to be. It's the
- 59:14Speaker 4: other thing, it's like, ultimately it's still like it's Taylor's rip.
- 59:17Speaker 4: She's a you know, superstar, you know, billionaire pop star.
- 59:21Speaker 4: But ultimately it's like it's a player's girlfriend and it's
- 59:25Speaker 4: kind of a move to be loved ones, you know
- 59:29Speaker 4: what I mean, you don't want to like like you know,
- 59:31Speaker 4: and even the fact that she you know, it is cool.
- 59:35Speaker 5: But at the same time, it's like, uh, you know,
- 59:38Speaker 5: I don't know that everybody will be as enlightened as
- 59:40Speaker 5: I am.
- 59:40Speaker 4: Peter, I've gotta be honest with you, buddy, I don't
- 59:42Speaker 4: know that everybody will feel that way. Like Jay and
- 59:45Speaker 4: I love them. I do, unfortunately love the Kelsey. I
- 59:49Speaker 4: like what they're doing, so it does. And Jason, so
- 59:52Speaker 4: like that's like Jason if Travis Travis, you know, pretty
- 59:58Speaker 4: boy tight end. Travis is in the stands and his
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: brother's on the field. But you have the cool salt
- 1:00:04Speaker 4: of the earth dad, you know what, Like he's he's
- 1:00:06Speaker 4: he looked cool in Buffalo. At the same time, it's like,
- 1:00:10Speaker 4: at the same time, if he's coming out in those stands,
- 1:00:12Speaker 4: I don't think it'll be as friendly.
- 1:00:13Speaker 5: As it was in Buffalo. You know.
- 1:00:15Speaker 4: It's like because you think the thing you understand with
- 1:00:18Speaker 4: with guys like Baltimore Natives, they think they can fight
- 1:00:22Speaker 4: Jason Kelsey. They're wrong, they're obviously gon'll get their split,
- 1:00:28Speaker 4: but they think they can take him. There's a guy
- 1:00:30Speaker 4: who like got kicked off his high school football team
- 1:00:34Speaker 4: for stealing catalytic converters in the parking lot, who thinks
- 1:00:38Speaker 4: he would have gone all pro.
- 1:00:39Speaker 5: If it wasn't for that.
- 1:00:40Speaker 4: And he he has gout, he hasn't lifted a weight
- 1:00:44Speaker 4: in ten years, and in his mind, he would fold
- 1:00:47Speaker 4: Jason kelcey up. So that's the thing to be worried about.
- 1:00:51Speaker 4: Is like the unearned Baltimore confidence, you know, when you
- 1:00:54Speaker 4: have somebody showing you up like that. But it sucks
- 1:00:58Speaker 4: to you know, I don't like being I don't like
- 1:01:02Speaker 4: having to be aimed against.
- 1:01:04Speaker 5: I don't like that being.
- 1:01:05Speaker 4: My fan enemy is Jason Kelsey because he's got he's
- 1:01:08Speaker 4: that's a.
- 1:01:09Speaker 5: Powerful brother, you older brother energy.
- 1:01:11Speaker 4: You know, he's away he's also look, let's be honest,
- 1:01:13Speaker 4: he's away from the kids.
- 1:01:14Speaker 5: He's away from Yeah, he's not that team that fell apart,
- 1:01:18Speaker 5: team that fell apart.
- 1:01:19Speaker 4: Towards the end, he's probably just getting fucked up enjoying
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: seeing his brother, Like you understand, and who knows what
- 1:01:26Speaker 4: what celebrities will be in that box. They had a
- 1:01:28Speaker 4: they had a hilarious lineup last time. But I don't
- 1:01:31Speaker 4: know everybody's making the trip. I mean, they man the
- 1:01:33Speaker 4: trip to Buffalo.
- 1:01:34Speaker 5: I don't know. If I make the trip to Baltimore,
- 1:01:36Speaker 5: that'll be interesting.
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: I'll be there also. I'm gonna look for your pre
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: game hopefully i'll come. Dude, what's the jersey? Are you
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: going with Ogden again? Or have you had any luck
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: finding any any other? I mean, Michael McCreary would be
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: pretty bad.
- 1:01:48Speaker 5: As I thought. McCreary. I love McCrary. I am.
- 1:01:52Speaker 4: I am literally in communication with Tony Sarah Goose's children
- 1:01:56Speaker 4: to try and get Sarah Goo.
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: Yet they're harder.
- 1:02:00Speaker 5: They're harder to find than you think. What Tony nine
- 1:02:05Speaker 5: ninety eight, Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:02:10Speaker 4: I So if it's a it's I've been kind of
- 1:02:12Speaker 4: going with the old school, like I did and read
- 1:02:15Speaker 4: the last time. If it's not, If it's not Goose,
- 1:02:18Speaker 4: I might go ed reads my favorite raven of all time.
- 1:02:22Speaker 4: But also also karmically, maybe it's time to get to
- 1:02:26Speaker 4: Lamar Jersey. Agot support my guy as he's this is
- 1:02:29Speaker 4: a big one for him. I mean this is yeah,
- 1:02:31Speaker 4: let's let's take let's take my homes down. So I
- 1:02:34Speaker 4: have a lot of I have a lot of I
- 1:02:36Speaker 4: might save for this, you know, I don't want to
- 1:02:38Speaker 4: get ahead of myself. If, if, if, and when, I
- 1:02:41Speaker 4: might keep the powder dry because Goose, you know, it
- 1:02:44Speaker 4: would be a great tribute, great raven, one of my
- 1:02:46Speaker 4: favorite obviously when you're when you're a chubby little Greek
- 1:02:49Speaker 4: guy and you see a chubby Italian.
- 1:02:51Speaker 5: That's just and I played I ended up playing nose
- 1:02:53Speaker 5: tackles do when I played school. So I love I
- 1:02:56Speaker 5: love Goose. So you know, either way, though, we've got
- 1:03:00Speaker 5: I've got a lot of decisions to make to I
- 1:03:01Speaker 5: got a lot of decisions to make.
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: You my last one for you, and then we're gonna
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: let you go because you've give it us way too much.
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: So appreciate it. You know, it's Vegas, it's it's glit's
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: it's glamour, it's a whole thing. There's a legit chance
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: that it's the cities of Baltimore and Detroit in the
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: first Las Vegas Super Bowl. How amazing? How good is that.
- 1:03:22Speaker 4: A lot of a lot of Grandma's Social Security checks
- 1:03:24Speaker 4: are going to be put on the roulette wheel that weekend.
- 1:03:27Speaker 5: I'll tell you that much.
- 1:03:29Speaker 4: There's gonna be a lot, a lot of a lot
- 1:03:32Speaker 4: of money that cannot be afforded to be gambled.
- 1:03:34Speaker 5: We'll be gambled that weekend. I'll tell you that much.
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: That's awesome. Stoppy Baby, your podcast is called Stoppy's world
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: S t A A.
- 1:03:44Speaker 5: V y vy vvy.
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: Sorry, you've played the Beacon Theater, You've played a bunch
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: of big places. Where where can we see you the
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: next few weeks? If we want to see your stand.
- 1:03:56Speaker 4: Up next few weeks, I'm ending the two of these
- 1:03:58Speaker 4: of them make up dates. Uh so I have Dallas
- 1:04:01Speaker 4: with the Majestic Theater. If you want to see me
- 1:04:03Speaker 4: the night before I fly back to Baltimore to see
- 1:04:06Speaker 4: thee to watch the AFC Championship game. I'm there that Saturday,
- 1:04:10Speaker 4: and then the next weekend I'm making up actually.
- 1:04:13Speaker 5: Detroit, So hopefully Detroit.
- 1:04:15Speaker 4: Hopefully you're in the Super Bowl and you're celebrating, but
- 1:04:17Speaker 4: come and celebrate by coming to see me.
- 1:04:18Speaker 5: I'm in Detroit. I'm in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
- 1:04:21Speaker 4: I had to make up those dates too, and then
- 1:04:23Speaker 4: we're done for a little while just watch.
- 1:04:25Speaker 5: I have two specials out there. YouTube specials out there
- 1:04:29Speaker 5: for free.
- 1:04:29Speaker 4: You can get that right now called Live at the
- 1:04:31Speaker 4: Lodge Room and then if you have Netflix, the special
- 1:04:34Speaker 4: I just put out a couple months or last month,
- 1:04:36Speaker 4: I guess was Fat Rascal. So you can watch me
- 1:04:40Speaker 4: on the internet if I'm not coming to your town
- 1:04:41Speaker 4: anytime soon.
- 1:04:42Speaker 5: And I put out a bunch of stuff online.
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: Too, just amazing online. Good luck this weekend, dude, Thank
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: you for joining.
- 1:04:47Speaker 5: Us, Thank you brother, thanks for having me.
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: Aaron stop vi baby, the Pride of Baltimore. What'd you
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: think you know?
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: I'm thinking about like Baltimore and Lamar having to be
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: on top of his game and like see pressure and
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: scramble if the pressure's coming in. That was me keeping
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: track of every single time he cursed on air that
- 1:05:13Speaker 2: I need to make sure we bleep out.
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: That was He was great.
- 1:05:16Speaker 2: I mean, he's I've seen his videos from when he
- 1:05:18Speaker 2: would record him in his car doing raven stuff like
- 1:05:22Speaker 2: it's so great. I love him, and I also didn't
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: know I've I needed the like celeb fan fight between
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: Jason Kelsey and Stave and that's awesome.
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: I bet you Kelsey knows who stab is. He's that
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: popular online, Like I bet you, like it's not the
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: first time he's seen him and if he especially lives online,
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: which I think the Kelsey's do with their podcasts and
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: with their YouTube content, like I feel like they've probably
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: seen some of his work. But I actually, you know,
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: I hit it a little bit. Like I listened to
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: a lot of these comedy podcasts and he's one of
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: them because when I'm not doing football, just like the
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: zone out and laugh and like I think he's really funny,
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: and I meant it when I'm saying how smart he is.
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: They talk ball, and like I want to be like
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: a guest on their pod sometimes like it's there's it's
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: they follow the game and it's him and it's Dan
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: Soder and Sam Maurile and like I appreciate that. And
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: as much as the Taylor Swift stuff has brought in
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: an audience for the NFL, Like there's also this comedy
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: world where I mentioned it, Shane Gillis is best friends
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: with Dave Davis, and I saw Cole Beasley was on
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: THEO Vaughn's podcast. Like the comedy world in the NFL
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: has always had a connection and we'll see it in
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: NFL Honors with Keith and Michael Key and all that.
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: But like there's also like this podcasting world where those
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: guys love ball too, and I just think it's great.
- 1:06:36Speaker 2: Yeah, I think I always love obviously when there's someone
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: like you who knows football and has connections to the
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: inside and like can can speak to football in a
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: way that I am on a unable to, Like you
- 1:06:50Speaker 2: have like this historical knowledge and these connections, and that's
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: so important and a valuable listen. And then there's this
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: totally other way of listening to football where it's like,
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: here are two guys who are just like joking around
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: and maybe like they watched the game together like with
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: a couple, and they were you know, like they had
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: been riding dirt bikes earlier in the day or whatever,
- 1:07:12Speaker 2: like a totally different view of the game than what
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: you've got, which is an amazing thing to have both
- 1:07:19Speaker 2: of those sides.
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: I love it. The Ronnie character, he nailed it, who
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: who he died? Like, I don't have a face for
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: that character. Don't like you, you don't need to know
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: what that means, just like you watch it. The accent
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: is so funny and the way Stobby looks it works
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: so perfect. So I'm happy for his success. I mean
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: he's being humbled. This guy's a megastar. And you might
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: be like, well, I don't really know his name. I'm
- 1:07:40Speaker 1: not familiar. Is that is? That is he as big
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: as Dave Chappelle or Joe Coy or Chris Rock In
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: today's comedy world, podcasting is where money's made, Touring is
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: where money is made, and YouTube is where money is made.
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: And I assure you, like he's not stressing that he
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: doesn't have a Comedy Central half hour or that he's
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: on Jimmy Fallon One Night.
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: Yeah, and like he said, his newest special Thatt Raskell
- 1:08:06Speaker 2: on Netflix. Now everyone's Netflix homepage is different, but it's
- 1:08:10Speaker 2: like right there on my owning splash.
- 1:08:12Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: So yeah, check out check out live from the whatever
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: it was called Live. How many you I want to
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: know how many? I said twenty million. I don't think
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: I don't think that's far off.
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: What's it got Live at the Lodge Room has six
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: point three million?
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: Yeah, so I was a little generous. Still, six point
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: three million people have clicked and watched a full hour
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: of comedy that's pretty good. Quick notes before we wrap
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: this thing. I got the note last night from a
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: source and it's just getting public now. Fifty million Americans
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: was the average number of that Bills versus Chiefs game.
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: Eyeballs wise, in a world where word cutting has hilled,
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: you know, television in a lot of ways, fifty million
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: people and at one point in between nine to fifteen
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: and nine thirty, fifty five million people were watching as
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: a collective whole. The NFL's king. The NFL is king,
- 1:09:12Speaker 1: and we'll have two great games this weekend. I don't
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: know if it'll hit Bill's Chiefs, but Lions Niners sure
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: brings a big audience to Fox. That game kicks off
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: at six thirty, and of course the early game, which
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: I will be at, Chiefs versus Ravens. Aaron awesome, Pod
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: loved it. We didn't even hit any of the coaching
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: stuff that's going on right now. I have tons of
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: insight on that. I guess we'll wait till next week
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: to hit it. I do want to do the season
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: with Peter Schragger delivering results presented by Uber Eats. It's
- 1:09:36Speaker 1: time for delivering results presented by Uber Eats. I'm gonna
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: give love to Dre Greenlaw, the linebacker for the San
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: Francisco forty nine Ers, who in the biggest game had
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: eight tackles and two huge interceptions. Now Greg Olsen and
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: Kevin Burkhart were screaming their heads off to get down,
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: to get down, to get down. Well, he thought he
- 1:09:55Speaker 1: was going to run that one back at the end.
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: I so appreciate guys who stepped up in the biggest
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: moments and in that game for the forty nine Ers,
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: their two best players might have arguably been Juwan Jenning
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: and Drake Greenlaw, who do not get much love, but
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: have been there all season long for them. Dre Greenlaw,
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: of course a long time member of that team, and
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: he saved his best for last, which I so appreciate.
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: So as we say that, I say this, it was
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: delivering results presented by Uber Eats, where you can get
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: almost almost anything. It's the official on demand delivery partner
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: of the NFL. Order. Now, guys who are on a
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: hot streak here, I'm picking every game right. My picks,
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: as I've already said, are going to be forty nine
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: Ers and the Chiefs. That's who I think is going
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: to the Super Bolt. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong. I'm
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: not too proud to come on the next day and
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: say I had it wrong. The truth of the matter
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: is I predicted it in September and I'm going with
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: it now. Niners versus Chiefs. That's how it's laid out
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: in my head. We'll see how it goes. For Aaron
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: Wan Kauffman, Jason English. For all the folks on the
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: West Coast, this was the Season with Peter Scheger. A
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: nice little small podcast that does a really good number,
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: and we appreciate doing it, hopefully appreciate listening. We'll do
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: another one next week. All right, guys, enjoy Championship Weekend.
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: The Season with Peter Schrager is a production of the
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: NFL and partnership with iHeartRadio. For more podcasts from iHeartRadio,
