- Fade or Follow: Alright, welcome back to Fedor Follow. It's just Grant today with our first solo episode. Jacob's a little busy this afternoon. So I am going to we're here to deliver winners and that is what I'm going to do. So yesterday we gave our we talked about the college football recap from week two and talked about our Thursday night winners and today I'm going to be going through the weekend slate and kind of just running through some of Bunts and I's favorite picks and just giving out the winners. So we can just get right into it. initially so first this weekend really gets started centered around Ole Miss and L S U, right? So everything else other than that game is kind of second nature, some other interesting matchups other top twenty five matchups being Houston and Texas Tech on Friday night, Louisville SMU, a rematch of last year's opener and o early season is Florida State and Alabama. Florida and Auburn and my a an A C C matchup in Miami Wake Forest or some of the other top games taking place. But at the end of the day really doesn't when it comes to the college football weekend it's J all eyes are gonna be in Baton Rouge or excuse me in Oxford, Mississippi when it comes to this LSU. Lane Kiffin returning back to Old Miss and all of the emotions that that is gonna bring. So it's gonna be a wild scene down there and I personally cannot wait. but the in terms of other picks that we like that Bunts and I like, we're gonna go to the Bama game the Alabama at Florida State. This this game is gonna be in Tuscaloosa. So last season Florida State ki played Alabama and really kinda just took it to him and kinda dominated the game. Tommy Castellanos kinda ran all over him, looked like little Kyler Murray out there. But and but then obviously after that the season kinda fell apart for him. That was the high point of Florida State's entire season and Alabama and went on to win a playoff game, so not really. kind of that was kind of the kind of cross paths there and then ended up going a completely different direction. So Bama is currently laying twenty and a half in this spot. I and it's I think that's really just the revenge angle come manifest and I think the I think it Does I've wa we've watched this Florida State team a couple of times and they are just putrid. They are not good. And Alabama's Keelan Russell, freshman quarterback for them, he's starting to come alive a little bit. He's beat up on some cupcakes, so y you don't really know truly what he is yet, but he's shown flashes of what he can be. And I think just you take the just the talent disparity at this point between the two groups, the mental state, 'Cause Florida S Florida State's coming off blowing an absolute like blowing a absolute st like blowing a critical gain to an SMU group that they really just should not have lost to. So I think you just delay the t I think Bama comes out and just takes it to him at home here, doesn't leave any doubt and for and Mike Norbel is just continuing on his death march until he eventually gets relieved of his duties and goes into Jo into Jimbo Fisher and and Brian Kelly and getting paid off for Everland. so yeah, Bama minus twenty and a half there. next game we want to get into is actually the game tomorrow night, Houston and Texas Tech. Texas Tech last year really one of really a really one of the stories of the last season and this off season just the the the alumni base and the the NIL boosters just absolutely dumping oil money into this into this Texas Tech roster. Go out. just they lose some pe talent to the draft, but more than anything they get well more than anything they just they lose some talent to the draft, but they just reload all over the place and then they get to they get to quarterback and They bring in this guy from Cincinnati named Max Soresby. as you may have heard, he is not he's no longer he's not with the team and that leaves Will Hammond as their quarterback for this for this season and he just hasn't and this Texas Tech team just has not looked the same as it did last year. They got into a battle with Oregon State last week, really not looking that great. and this Houston team is really kind of come in is really starting to come into their own a little bit. And and I and they've been playing well and Connor Wagman has taken a step forward for them and I think they are the up and com and they're currently getting seven and a half points in this matchup against a Texas Tech team that maybe is a little overbought at this pla at this point. So kinda gotta Yeah, when it comes to this Houston versus Texas Tech matchup, I think you're getting seven and a half with Houston, who is just really playing a lot better football right now. And honestly the books opened minus ten and it's gotten steamed all the way down to minus seven and a half, from for Houston. So I think you kinda gotta buy into that a little bit. I don't think I don't think Texas Tech is the same team as last year, and I think You kinda can take advantage of that number. and to just get a get some good value on a Houston team that a lot of people are sleeping on right now. next up we have SMU and Louisville. And so this is gonna two super high powered offenses and in the top twenty five ACC matchups. So right now this game's kind of the the ACC is kind of the Mi this is kind of the Miami and everyone else league. And I think that's a fa that's a fair assessment of the whole picture, but I think in certain levels you kinda th these two teams could give Miami some trouble if they got into a conference championship with them. Yeah, so when it comes to this Louisville SMU matchup, it really is two offenses, just two juggernauts on offense and two kind of suspect defenses going head to head in a game that's gonna do a lot to decide the overall ACC landscape. And for me, I think in this position you just gotta take the better quarterback and Kevin Jennings, for as mu for as many mistakes as he made in that last game against Florida State. I think he's just so tal so the talent is just so prevalent in his game that I think you kinda just gotta roll with him in this one. I don't Lincoln Keenholtz is still a r still a new rookie, new freshman coming in here, making his first few com career starts, played a couple of teams at this point, and I think this this SMU team is gonna come out and make a statement here. and kinda take it to him a little bit. Louisville's getting a couple of points here, but I think that's just a little misleading on this one. I think SMU kinda comes out and takes care of business. Bunts does like Louisville in this spot, so him and I are going head to head on this. So please you d either way either way is this game's a total coin flip. don't do t like kinda just take who you want, but I think you're Yeah, the the coaching edge is definitely on the side of Louisville here into Jeff Brahm. I think the talent on the field definitely swings SMU. And I think SMU really should have the scoreboard was little misleading in the Florida State game. They really should have dominated that matchup against Florida State, but just due to a lot of boneheaded mistakes and turnovers, I think they that game look was a lot closer than it needed to be. And I think SMU kinda comes out here and takes care of business. and then the game of the weekend. We have LSU and Ole Miss. This game is going to be absolute cinema. We've known this for months that this game is gonna be cinema. I think you're getting Trinidad Chambliss, Kewan Lacey, the a lot of other returning stars, this old miss team, just absolute hate boner for Lane Kiffin, just leaving him high and dry, basically. Not e him not even hiding it, just saying I can't win here. I gotta go up this go across state lines and go over to b Louisiana and do it there 'cause I can't do it here even though they were about to be walking into the playoffs as a top as a top seed and potent could have potentially won it last year, but Lane Kiffin had other ideas. So And when then Lane Kiffin goes over to LSU and builds in what appears to be an absolute juggernaut of a team. talent all over the place, just defensive stars, offensive stars Caf cam Sam Levitt coming over from Arizona State after a weird kind of a weird departure there. I I do think this This game is gonna be up and down. This game's gonna have a lot of this game's gonna have points. It's gonna have tension. It's gonna have a little bit of everything. This the scene is the stadium itself is gonna be absolutely buzzing. probably gonna have a few more than a few fights. this is gonna be this is everything you want in college football, because this is like real raw emotion coming gonna be coming out here, and I don't think you get that too much more in the NFL. it's just soaked. We still love the NFL, but this is like this is you don't you don't get this type of drama in the pros. You gotta you gotta go to college for this stuff. So, as far as the pick, I l kind of love LSU in this spot. I d I don't like I think the talent the this this game This game is a t complete coin flip, but I think just you t you just have LSU in this spot that they are the villains, they are the bad boys of college football, they have such like the both teams are have a a massive emotional edge in terms of the revenge angle for Ole Miss and the And then you have the villain angle for LSU. Both teams are gonna be coming fired up, ready to prove something. But I think if both those things take a wash and you kinda just look at it roster for roster, I think you really just gotta I think you like LSU kinda comes out had outside of Chambliss and Lacey, like the Ole Miss defense has not shown me much that gets me excited, and I think the LSU defense has shown me some potential. so I think the I think just team for team and obviously the coaching advantage goes to LSU as well. So I I think you l lay the number with LSU and then there's this LSU and there's a for anyone who thinks Sam Levitt is actually in danger of missing this game, just let's just stop gambling. Let's just go do something else. Go like let's take up bike riding or something else because he's not the Link Iffin is just the ultimate troll and this is just another feather in his cap of just elite elite trolling. So if you got a better number with L S U when that news came out, good for you. this is this is a game where I think LSU really kind of stin like breaks a does another round of heart breaks on Ole Miss. I don't think this is the bad guy wins in this story, in my opinion. And then a couple other picks that I wanted to go over. Georgia minus twenty four and a half against Arkansas over the course over this off season R Ryan Silverfield, the new coach at Ar Arkansas, talking a little bit little bit of shit about Georgia's traffic shenanigans, if you want to call that. and I think they probably all heard that, hung it up on their boat hung it up on their b locker room wall and they're ready to go take it to And also Arkansas has not been good and I think Georgia has looked incredible. I don't think this is a buy sell high spot for Georgia. I think you can kinda get I think Georgia's gonna win by forty, so this is a I think if you'd get the Georgia twenty four and a half year and Just get some good get it get the better team at a decent price for how badly I think this game's gonna go for Arkansas. and then you have then I liked South Carolina and Mississippi State over. let me double check the line there. fifty eight and a half, juice to the over. I think you've got Lenora Sellers and Camario Taylor just two absolute studs at quarterback. Camario Taylor if you haven't heard about him yet, learn about him. He's coming. He's gonna he's a freshman quarterback from Mississippi State. Lenora Sellers obviously been there for a few years, had his ups and downs, but he's playing really well right now. I think this game is gonna have a lot of points. so d bet the over and get ready for some mid afternoon fireworks. and then quickly we're we may or may not do a Sunday night a s a Sunday show for the NFL picks. So if we don't get that get that in some quick NFL quick hitters for the weekend. Denver moneyline Bucks minus eight and a half Packers minus two and a half Cowboys minus four and a half Saquon Barkley anytime touchdown score, a Patriots, Chargers, Moneyline Parlay, and Malik Neighbors t anytime touchdown. he's scoring this weekend. So a a lot of those are 0 and one teams in the kind of get their lick back spot. I think a lot of those teams lost in unfortunate fashion, especi especially the Bucks. They're playing Cleveland. I think Baker He ha he played really poorly. He had some highlights, but he play he had a lot of bad turnovers in that game against Cincy and I think he's gonna be playing pissed off and he's gonna go hang forty on Cleveland. I thleveland is a dumpster fire right now, and I think that's by design, to be honest. I think they're just playing for that number one overall pick. They want Arch. So I think you can get the bu just take I think honestly whatever spread you're getting against Cleveland. you can go ahead and just lay it this season. I I think they're trying to this is gonna be a bad season for them. and then yeah, Packers, I think those I think that loss against Minnesota was absolute nonsense, just really fluky. And I think and I think you I think they're still a very talented ball club and I still think they're there's still value with them. I don't think they're I s and I don't think the Jets are as good as they looked against Tennessee. I think Tennessee is gonna be a bad football team. I don't think Cam Ward is that guy. I don't think any of the weapons that they got for him are gonna help. so I think you can get a discounted Packers group right now 'cause they've lost six straight and I think you can get some good value on the Packers. and then like I said, Saquon and neighbors, any time touchdown. love don't parlay bet straight, whatever you want to do. I think they're they're both getting in there. and yeah, and so yeah, I think a a lot of these te bound and I think ri week two is always you always get that overreaction weekend over the week of overreactions and I think you can get some good value on some and good NFL teams that had happened to come out a little bit slower than they otherwise would have. Bunts and I may do a show together and you get his picks on these. but Didn't want to leave you guys without some without any NFL winners because we weren't able to last weekend either.
