- 0:54[SPEAKER_00]: That's not just my opinion, not just because I live across the street for more of the meet, but also because the president of the Browns Bakers says so also, they're always put on great events like this.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, literally seven days ago, they had Josh Cribbs.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, shenanigans and dover today.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_00]: We're here at Hall of Fame lanes and we got tons of former Browns players just former Cleveland athletes.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_00]: Bernie Cousar is going to be here hand for Dixon Bob Cole.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_00]: Felix Wright, Greg, Mike Brook, Anthony Griggs, James Black, Joe Sharman Rukch.

- 3:02[SPEAKER_00]: I was, you know, so I think it took a, I think it took a, over a year to get to our first one thousand and then that means in three years or four years since then we've added 19,000 people guys.

- 4:19[SPEAKER_02]: It's a Southeast Toys for Tots.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_02]: And just get here.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_02]: There's a bunch of awesome things to be raffled off.
- 4:28[SPEAKER_02]: Red G-Lang Horned Jersey, Bernie Cosa, just to name a few.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_02]: You can even come up here, probably there's some stuff to purchase as far as autographs or concern.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_02]: But man, on a nice day, don't miss out, get out of the house and come on down to the bowling lanes here in Canoile, man.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_00]: It's one of those things, too, where if you've never been to an event like this and sometimes people can be, maybe be, uh,
- 4:53[SPEAKER_00]: intimidated to meet you know for pro athletes and guys like Bernie and stuff like that guys this is we've got to do a bunch of these now they're like the nicest people yeah because they are so like you know sometimes they say like you know don't meet your heroes trust me there's none of that here the every single one of these former uh browns players that I've ever had the chance to meet I leave just thinking like they're just the coolest and it's down to earth like you can just sit and talk to them forever they are genuinely happy to be here
- 5:20[SPEAKER_00]: And to meet you guys like the love for the Browns is still super strong in all these players So I'm like kidding said get over here.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_00]: It's a great cause meet and just meet a bunch of awesome people It's gonna be a great time here till 4 p.m. again Hall of Fame lanes can't know how to So
- 5:35[SPEAKER_00]: obviously there's browns news to talk about.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_00]: Other than Josh's spat with local Cleveland media.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, man.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_00]: I wasn't expecting it, but, you know, Josh's struggling lately.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: They're coming out.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, they wouldn't be coming after us if they weren't afraid.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_02]: That's that big 20,000 man.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_02]: That's why they're coming out.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the big dog now.
- 5:54[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_00]: But Brown's news, I would say probably the biggest news right now, end of the voluntary workout, or it was the mandatory mini-campo, and then the break now heading in before we get to officially end a training camp, and Todd Munkin hasn't named a starter at the quarterback position.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_00]: Shoulder took all the reps one day, just Sean took them all the next, and they kind of went 50-50 on the third day.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like it's been a little bit blown out of proportion in terms of how monkey said he'd like to name a starter.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_00]: He never said I'm a hundred percent definitively right to name a starter, you know.
- 6:30[SPEAKER_00]: And would I like it if one of these guys preferably should or would it just been like demonstra- demonstra- be better?
- 6:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, but it's also very hard to be leaps and bounds better in shorts Yeah, you know, I mean like great.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: It's very how how because you're both you're both playing touch football right now Like football, you know, and and there it's not like they're both first your pros anymore Shoulder has a season under his belt.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_00]: He's got a bunch of starts under his belt This is now his second all season of being a pro obviously just Sean's been an elite for a while you went home
- 7:08[SPEAKER_00]: that both of them would look comparable and look good in shorts with no real passersh, no real fear being hit.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_03]: All that good stuff.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_03]: The way the whole thing unfolded is if you just look at it logically it makes sense.
- 7:20[SPEAKER_03]: The Sean Watson looks good.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_03]: He always look, he's a 10 year veteran quarterback in the NFL.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_03]: a former lead time pro baller like of course he's going to come out and practice very well I was not surprised by that neither of you I know yeah and then he's heard the reports as the spring program went along should door sander started gaining traction people are like oh he's starting to come on strong and he's starting to show a little better because he doesn't have the nine years of experience that the Sean has and he's learning a new offensive system one year after learning trying to learn the last one you know
- 7:50[SPEAKER_02]: Well, in the difference, it makes not throwing the trashcans.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I don't think so.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_02]: Like, this guy's actually, well, the other thing is, is that we have to look at OTAs.
- 7:59[SPEAKER_02]: They lay down the foundation for the offense.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_02]: Now, these two get to go out each other in-passing shorts, but the whole point, even with many camp, is that they get some kind of timing down with these new receivers.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_02]: It's not like it's a team either that has an established receiving unit.
- 8:17[SPEAKER_02]: The whole thing's starting over.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_02]: So for what they did and where they're at, I feel good about it, not naming a starter that are in shorts like we said.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_02]: Who cares?
- 8:27[SPEAKER_02]: No, I'm not.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_03]: I said all along, it didn't make sense to try to rush this decision through this part of this.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_03]: It's spring.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_03]: It didn't make any sense because you're not in patch, you have no idea what these guys look like when there's actual bullets flying in practice, again, they can't get it.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_03]: Put the lineman can get hit.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you know, and here's the thing is I would consider this base, it's a true competition, yes, okay, so it's not like one of these guy, okay, well, I mean honestly one of these guys is supposed to be the clerk cut starter and the other one is a fifth round graphic, okay, but it's things are a little different here in Cleveland out, you know what happens with the shunt this isn't like you know
- 9:06[SPEAKER_00]: a team drafted somebody number one overall and then they also have like a journey man quarterback on their camp roster and their number one overall pick who they're expecting to start this year doesn't look any better than that journey man guy they brought in and then like oh maybe this you know what's going on why is this guy not way better than the guy who is on his 10th team already this is a true competition well
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: There's nothing to truly evaluate yet.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: I don't, honestly, if they both looked awful, I would be a little concerned.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_00]: If they both look amazing, I could really care less because they're not even playing real football yet.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_03]: Right, and I like that Zack Jackson has been trying to sound the alarm a little bit on everybody, overreacting to internet, social media highlight clips, because he's saying, listen, like people are dog-in, both guys, Dishon, instead, or like all the whole in the ball forever.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_03]: We'll talk in a month and set after practice that day.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_03]: I'm, we're trying to work on scramble drill.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_03]: They're supposed to be holding the ball longer in that session.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_03]: Like, that's what we're working on here.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, well, that makes more sense.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_03]: They're doing what they're practicing to do.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_03]: And like the other day, you know, that viral clip or should door throw on the ball and the mic calls our amount stretch.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, that was a walk through play.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_03]: They were just messing around.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_03]: You look at the line and they were just standing there.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_03]: Like, they were just trying, you know, so you're not at practice.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_00]: That's why these the the stash record does anybody there's no contact and I tell you I guess I'm not as plugged into other teams like local media and fandom and stuff like that But does do is anybody else doing QB so it's starting to understand it started in filling L.F.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_02]: And I can't remember who the ESPN funded is, but it started there, and then for whatever reason, we got when we had last year, people started doing it for whatever reason.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_03]: And again, it's like a Cleveland started doing ESPN.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 10:55[SPEAKER_02]: And then for people look at it, but again, the context isn't there.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_02]: So let's say,
- 11:02[SPEAKER_02]: The Sean gets, doesn't get the starting reps, she door does.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_02]: But Shoulder is the guy that's working on the long ball that day.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_02]: And then, Watson gets the goal line stuff.
- 11:14[SPEAKER_02]: Well, clearly he's going to have more touchdowns thrown.
- 11:17[SPEAKER_02]: I think, right?
- 11:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think they split that stuff up.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_02]: I think they work on specific packages, right?
- 11:22[SPEAKER_02]: But again, the key word to what I said is, I think, I don't know.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_02]: I wasn't there.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_02]: And like, that's not what we get reported.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_02]: They don't give the context.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_02]: They just give us these arbitrary values.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_03]: The only thing I like to see from the stat track of that interest me, it always the completion percentage.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_03]: How often do these guys completing passes in practice?
- 11:39[SPEAKER_03]: Again, we don't have the context of that either.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_03]: Touchdown, it's like you said, doesn't matter.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_03]: There's Sean might be throwing touchdowns from the 20s, should door-starting on the opposite.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_03]: I have no idea.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_03]: And no clue what the period is with the session is, but are they completing their passes?
- 11:51[SPEAKER_03]: Because we saw last year in training camp.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_03]: How many times did we see the stat tracker in the completion rate for each guy was around like 50 or 60%.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_03]: And it's like that sucks.
- 11:58[SPEAKER_03]: And then we got to the season, and it was 50 or 60%.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_03]: So that kind of stuff I feel translates a little more into reality.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_00]: But completing passes isn't bad, right now, and I'm not just because they have a high completion percentage and practice doesn't mean they're good, but I don't see how you could ever look at it as a negative.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_00]: There's just has to be context to every single stat that we're seeing out there.
- 12:25[SPEAKER_00]: And it's just, I know I'm on a Brown's podcast, but like this time a year where just
- 12:36[SPEAKER_00]: border line just making stuff up and just it drives me nuts.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_00]: If we were on a podcast I might not even look at anything until until basically log is the best thing you can do is actually be the guy right now that doesn't look at anything
- 12:52[SPEAKER_02]: Doc sends into us that over-analyzing everything right because even I got to check myself I'm like damn it.
- 12:59[SPEAKER_02]: This guy didn't do this.
- 13:00[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like just wait a second.
- 13:01[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I like he's a four-string safety What am I what am I saying?
- 13:06[SPEAKER_00]: I have such a hard time when people will be talking about stuff even in the dog pack and I'm just like
- 13:12[SPEAKER_00]: Who gives, like, it is freaking June, you know, like, we don't, we have no idea what's going on.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_00]: And then I had to be like, oh no, I'm supposed to care, you know, and it's just so hard, like,
- 13:27[SPEAKER_00]: This is why, like, even during the season, I try, like, we can't think we're going to the Super Bowl after we win one game.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_00]: And we can't think that we're getting the number one pick after we lose one game, right?
- 13:38[SPEAKER_00]: Because you're going to win games, you shouldn't win, and you're going to lose games that you should have won, right?
- 13:42[SPEAKER_00]: That's just the NFL season.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_00]: The good teams,
- 13:45[SPEAKER_00]: The good teams don't lose the games if they shouldn't, or at least they limit them.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you might lose one, but you can't let three slip away, four slip away, that kind of thing.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_02]: Here's the thing that you want to see though.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_02]: And Josh mentioned it this week and when he was on the podcast, there's energy out there.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_02]: There's buy-in, and these guys are running these plays, and there's zip to them.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_02]: know where they're supposed to be now there's been a lot of off-size and stuff that they're starting to clean that up because there is some there's so much motion trash they do and they're not yeah yeah they haven't done this before right so there's a learning part of it where yes they are making mistakes but
- 14:20[SPEAKER_02]: When the play's done, they're just like, ah, geez, you know, kind of like, censoring back, they're up, they're picking their team made up, they're getting back in, and they're like, let's go again, and when they're getting back to the play from what I've seen, they're getting immediate feedback, and they're getting chewed out a bit, you know?
- 14:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, which you should if you're not doing stuff right, getting paid millions of dollars.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_03]: One thing I keep seeing from people too, I feel like a lot of people out there fans and people on social media, only hyper-focused on what's the offense doing.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_03]: Well, guys, the defense is practicing, too.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_03]: You know, so you got to take the go at the bat sometimes, like Kenny said, there's energy and what I really like, that the big stuff for me is the differences this year to last year, because last year, a lot of short passes.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_03]: And then we saw that in the season, a lot of tight end dump offs running back dump offs, stuff like that.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_03]: They're already implementing and installing this downfield passing attack, a strong downfield passing attack.
- 15:12[SPEAKER_03]: And we got the receivers to go do it now.
- 15:14[SPEAKER_03]: not to me as excited.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and the thing is, there's been some made about fan and not being in practice, but I mean fan and had over a hundred targets last year because he was the only option.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_02]: I'm kind of happy and I don't know if this is a thing or not, but she knows not going to lock on him in OTAs, he's not going to lock on him in this mini camp.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_02]: You know, get some other guys, some opportunities.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_02]: Let's get these receivers developed.
- 15:38[SPEAKER_02]: Like look at the catch radius that we just loved that we were bought into drafting a boss and now we're showing it.
- 15:45[SPEAKER_02]: Like that's great.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_02]: That's the stuff that you want to see, right?
- 15:48[SPEAKER_02]: You want to see other guys like Hickman's the only safety play.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_02]: These the only guy making plays will that's why they tend to them $5.4 million, right?
- 15:55[SPEAKER_02]: So you're seeing that as well.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_02]: So those are the small things that you want to see in these OTAs and this mini-camp right now.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_02]: And as far as like wholesale making decisions on the roster, that's not going to happen to the pads come on and training camp and that kind of stuff.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_02]: Right now, they've seen what they've need to see, so that they can say these are the battles that need to be won.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_02]: These are unfortunately, you need to get a player in here, you know, and that's where that's going to all, all that information is going to move over to training camp, and then they'll figure a bit more stuff out.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_00]: Speaking of the defense, I don't, I haven't been on since we immediately traded miles.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_00]: Now that we've had time for that to digest.
- 16:37[SPEAKER_00]: What?
- 16:38[SPEAKER_00]: What are your expectations in terms of total defense for the Browns this year?
- 16:42[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously losing miles is a huge blow.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_00]: We're obviously excited for Jared Verse, but he's not miles in terms of just pure dominance in the past Russian stuff like that.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_00]: Do we have any concerns with the defense?
- 16:53[SPEAKER_00]: Do you think, where do you think the defense is this year?
- 16:57[SPEAKER_00]: Is there going to be a huge drop-off, a little drop-off?
- 17:00[SPEAKER_00]: What are you guys expecting?
- 17:02[SPEAKER_03]: I definitely expect a drop-off.
- 17:04[SPEAKER_03]: Huge, I wouldn't say huge just because of the rate at which Jared verse can generate pressure just on his own.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_03]: Now he's not a sack conversion guy yet.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_03]: That's not his big thing like miles.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_03]: He'll get the sacks.
- 17:15[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_03]: Use your 100%.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_03]: But...
- 17:17[SPEAKER_03]: still be able to create that pressure just opens the door for you know Mason Graham, elite Collins, Isaiah McGuire, Alex Wright, whoever's on the other side to also get to the quarterback.
- 17:27[SPEAKER_03]: It'd be crazy to say there's not going to be drop off.
- 17:30[SPEAKER_03]: I think.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_02]: Um, man, that's tough to say how they come together.
- 17:34[SPEAKER_02]: And my impression of the defense is just, they're one injure away from maybe not being good because there's no depth there.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_02]: No, if you keep the starters all year, which is not, this is the NFL is not going to happen.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_02]: I would say maybe a little bit more stout against the run, because he's, he's a really good against the run, uh, verse.
- 17:55[SPEAKER_02]: But, uh, other than that,
- 17:57[SPEAKER_02]: mid 15 team and defense I just need that offense to be and we got a new defensive coordinator too.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_03]: So there's like there's so many variables now that it's really hard to project.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_00]: So I was talking in the the discord about this and I think the Browns can still be at 10 to 12 defense without miles and adding Jared first.
- 18:16[SPEAKER_00]: I think where you got to look is how does the second
- 18:24[SPEAKER_00]: cover longer because, you know, we saw time and time again the game playing against the Browns was to just, you were getting rid of the ball under two seconds or under.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_00]: So our DBs didn't have to cover for an eternity, which, you know, made them, are they really good?
- 18:42[SPEAKER_00]: Was Miles making them look good?
- 18:44[SPEAKER_00]: That kind of thing.
- 18:44[SPEAKER_00]: So there is some concern there.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_00]: I agree with you, Kenny.
- 18:48[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's a chance we could be better against the run.
- 18:51[SPEAKER_00]: As much as, you know, we love miles and we love the past.
- 18:55[SPEAKER_00]: I feel like he opened up run lanes a lot with he would just rush.
- 18:59[SPEAKER_03]: Yes.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_00]: He would just, he would just rush up the field and it's like he wasn't reading a run key all the time and he'd get five yards deep up the field and they would just run right in the giant hole that he grew wide.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_00]: Nine was the extra widening on his side, you know, especially, especially once it was apparent, we weren't going to win many games.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_00]: It became about the sack, right?
- 19:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, you know what I mean?
- 19:26[SPEAKER_00]: Um, so I do think we could be better against the run.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_00]: I do have some slight concerns about possible secondary issues with, you know, teams may be not fearing miles, so they're, they're willing to let players to, place develop deeper down field that kind of thing.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_00]: But I still think we can be a top 10 to 12 defense.
- 19:46[SPEAKER_03]: This episode is sponsored by Kaoshi.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_03]: All right, Browns Vand, you know, we've all messed around with the sports books before, right?
- 19:52[SPEAKER_03]: And let's be honest, you're always kind of playing into the house.
- 19:55[SPEAKER_03]: But with Kaoshi, it's different.
- 19:56[SPEAKER_03]: You're not betting against some sports book.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_03]: You're trading against other real world people.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_03]: There's no house trying to beat you Kaoshi just runs the marketplace.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_03]: So if you think the public is wrong, like everybody's overreacting to these smoke screens in the draft or sleeping on a prospect, you can literally take the other side of the market.
- 20:15[SPEAKER_03]: And it's not just sports either.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_03]: You can trade on other real-world stuff, interest rates, inflation, even wild weather outcomes.
- 20:21[SPEAKER_03]: It works like this, simple yes or no markets, your risk is capped up front and your payout is locked in.
- 20:26[SPEAKER_03]: So if you trust your takes and instincts, and I know you guys do, go check out Kaoshin's see what markets are live right now.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_03]: So head over to Kaoshin.com slash dogs, k-a-l-s-h-i.com slash dogs, d-a-w-g-s, deposit just $20 and Kaoshin's gonna match you.
- 20:41[SPEAKER_03]: They're gonna put $20 free into your account.
- 20:44[SPEAKER_03]: That's a great deal to get started.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_03]: So again, calshie.com slash dogs $20 match when you deposit $20 into your account.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm actually excited for the new defensive scheme and the new defensive coordinator, Rutenberg because, as much as we all loved Jim Schwartz because we had Joe Woods.
- 21:16[SPEAKER_03]: That's, you know what I mean?
- 21:17[SPEAKER_03]: It's very true.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_00]: So, Joe's Woods.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_00]: We had Joe Woods with no linebackers and no D-line, and we hated him because the defense just got shredded, and it was like, we have a competent offense, you know, say what you want about Kevin, but when we had Healthy Baker, we had Top 15 Offences, and it was like, if we could stop a nosebleed,
- 21:38[SPEAKER_00]: We would win games, and it was kind of like the opposite the last two years, you know, if we could score any point to you would win games, you know, so maybe But we then we bring in Jim Schwartz in the defense is just dominant at home, especially right off the rip it in that in that bangles game that we were Thank you, D-bell also he got his super moron.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, good for him so well, yep, but
- 22:01[SPEAKER_00]: There's no denying, though, that there were glaring issues with Jim Schwartz's defense.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_00]: We would get gashed between the tackles.
- 22:11[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Tony Pollard.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 22:14[SPEAKER_00]: An emiss myth.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_00]: And it was one of those things.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_00]: A misdirection.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_00]: Jet sweeps.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_00]: runs between the tackles.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, if we're tackling in the flats, yes, if my god if we're being completely honest, the thing that we were good at was a pass rush.
- 22:32[SPEAKER_00]: But there's more to the defense than just the pass rush, especially when if the offense isn't going to score and teams are going to have the lead and they're not going to pass against us.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_00]: You know, we need to be able to stop the run and all that good stuff.
- 22:45[SPEAKER_00]: So the stuff that gave Jim Schwartz's defense year one still gave Jim Schwartz's defense problems in year three.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_03]: Correct.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 22:54[SPEAKER_03]: Absolutely.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_03]: And what I was at three or two.
- 22:56[SPEAKER_03]: I don't remember how many years was in here.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_03]: Three.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, 23 24 25 with Mike Root and Bird and his he's coming in with this specialization with the second dairy and the linebackers Because remember he was the linebacker coach in New York for a while That's that relationship with Quincy Williams which I see somebody in the chat was talking about Quincy Williams gonna be in the force So him with Carson's to us and you're that is the relationship already on the field of practice and stuff You can see it's phenomenal and with focusing on
- 23:22[SPEAKER_03]: playing a majority three safety look on defense.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_03]: We've got that now with EMW coming in with Grant Delpit and Ronnie Hickman.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_03]: I feel really good about even the UDFA, as we signed from last year, the Donovan McMillan and Chris Edmunds.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_03]: Those two guys as kind of your depth pieces and in case of emergency guys, I don't feel bad about them.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_03]: So there is lack of depth at the corner back position.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_03]: and on the D-line, but man, what Root and Bird likes to do with that safety group and the linebackers.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_03]: I feel really good about those crews.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_00]: And I like that the Falcons led the league in SACs last year, I believe.
- 23:55[SPEAKER_00]: We talked about this without, I mean,
- 23:59[SPEAKER_00]: But that miles, you know, they don't have, they don't have a top 3-ed dresher on their team or a top 5-ed dresher on their team that I know of.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe I'm not up on the know and falcons roster enough, but, and so, like, they're able to scheme and get matchups and generate all kinds of pressure and get sacks.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_00]: So I like what this guy will be able to do with Isaiah McGuire, Alex Wright, Jared Burz, Mason Graham, all that kind of stuff.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_00]: We're seeing, like you said, Quincy Williams is a good blitzer.
- 24:26[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm excited for the new defensive team.
- 24:27[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I was, I did not want Jim Schwarz to be our head coach, and I was, I was perfectly fine with him not being our defensive coordinator anymore.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_00]: Because there was just no improvement.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_00]: There was no, like I said, we couldn't stop a jet suite, year one with Jim Schwartz, and we couldn't stop a jet sweep year three with Jim Schwartz.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_00]: It was like an ego thing.
- 24:47[SPEAKER_00]: There was no adjustment.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_00]: And so by the end of that, I was ready to see something new on the defensive side of the wall.
- 24:53[SPEAKER_02]: Sounds like another coach, it's not here anymore.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm excited, I'm excited to see that.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_00]: Adam says Blake, don't see enough brother, hope all is well, thank you, appreciate it.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_00]: It's tough to get out of the house these days, and sometimes it's even tough to make it to my basement.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_00]: So, with the two month old, so, but I'll be, hopefully I'll be working my way back on more regular consistency here.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_02]: Well, they're going to prioritize the turnover, too.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I don't know how we watched our new safety Blake, and just when he's practicing every time, he's trying to punch a ball out.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_02]: After every play, it plays.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_02]: Donnie still makes sure he takes his way.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_03]: That's what he did in college.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 25:34[SPEAKER_02]: And that's what he didn't college.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_02]: He was good with that kind of stuff.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_02]: Rootenburg, what I like, he's kind of like, he's got a lot of motto, a motto, and basically what he says is he's like, when he looks for players, it's heart, mind, and spirit, I think it is, right?
- 25:48[SPEAKER_02]: The other thing with him is that ball, the ball's like air, just breathe it in.
- 25:52[SPEAKER_02]: after the ball all the time.
- 25:54[SPEAKER_02]: So those turnovers, I'm hoping to see them this year because I think we need that base on the way that team teams are going to be.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_02]: And that hasn't been something that we've had since 2023.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_02]: Those turnovers are something they're preaching and I really want to see that happen this year.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_00]: Same.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_00]: And we saw that with Jim Schwartz defense.
- 26:15[SPEAKER_00]: lead the league in turnovers or at least close to the top of one year.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_00]: Next year fall off.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_00]: You know, the defense was a lot of the defense had to do with sacks and turnovers and if they weren't.
- 26:25[SPEAKER_00]: If we weren't getting home, we weren't creating the turnovers.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_00]: We were having games like we did against Titans.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm looking, I think we can just be a more complete defense now.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think so too, and I'm also hoping that our new special teams coordinator can put together a little bit better performance from those guys than what we got the last few years because my goodness.
- 26:47[SPEAKER_03]: Last year with the jets was like, that was the end of the line for me.
- 26:50[SPEAKER_03]: You cannot go to New York against the jets.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_03]: I understand where the browns.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_03]: They were trying to loot.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_03]: But the jets don't have an elite side of the ball anything.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_03]: We've got this defense, we got Miles Garrett.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_03]: We had players.
- 27:02[SPEAKER_03]: But we lost because we, first of all, Dylan Gabriel couldn't get us more than five yards on the pass.
- 27:08[SPEAKER_03]: But to kick return for touchdowns, like, come on to that man.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, yes, what does the S being come on, man?
- 27:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, come on, man.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_00]: And here's the thing too.
- 27:18[SPEAKER_00]: If you know, like, even if it's personnel wise,
- 27:22[SPEAKER_00]: If you, if you just think you don't have the person out, which we heard Bubba say that, like I think they think I'm doing an okay job considering the person I have.
- 27:30[SPEAKER_00]: If you don't think you're the person out, kick it out of bounds even.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_00]: I'd much rather than have the ball at the 35 or the 40 or whatever it is than kick returns for touchdowns.
- 27:41[SPEAKER_00]: kick it out you mean you don't think Andre Schmidt can't kick it out of the back of the hands on every time and just give him the ball to 30 I will live with the chance of zero return and especially with our defense yeah you know if we had this defense that was I didn't think they were elite but they were in above average defense for sure
- 27:59[SPEAKER_00]: Give him the ball at the 30 and we'll just live with that other than giving up kick returns for touchdowns like I think if you can say anything about Kevin's era and Bubba's era and even Jim Fortes era just the total unwillingness to adjust to anything.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, don't agree.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, stop.
- 28:17[SPEAKER_00]: Stop.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_03]: This is over here.
- 28:20[SPEAKER_03]: That's going on, brother.
- 28:21[SPEAKER_03]: But so with the special teams, one thing I wanted to mention, it wasn't just the kickoff coverage and the punt coverage.
- 28:27[SPEAKER_03]: It was our own freaking return team.
- 28:29[SPEAKER_03]: So the NFL has set up these new roles where they basically won off fences to get the ball to 50.
- 28:33[SPEAKER_03]: Like let's cut this field in half and try to have more scoring.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_03]: And the Browns are back here at like the 15 or 20.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_03]: If they're trying to give you the ball at the 35 guys, come on, at least get there, drove me nuts last year.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_02]: And that we just didn't have a gunner last, like nobody seemed like they wanted to gun down the field and make a tackle.
- 28:49[SPEAKER_03]: We didn't need any more hurt.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, big time.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_02]: That was an underrated loss.
- 28:54[SPEAKER_03]: Yep.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_02]: That's why we have that receiver now from Baltimore.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_02]: We got Wallace.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_02]: Apparently he is a All-Star Gunner.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_02]: So we'll see what he has.
- 29:01[SPEAKER_03]: He's been showing out pretty well in camp.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_02]: He's been making splashes, so that's good.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_02]: You want to see that?
- 29:06[SPEAKER_03]: I did want to talk about Adam's question here real quick before we got too far.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_03]: Who do you guys think is going to lead on receiving yards for the team?
- 29:14[SPEAKER_03]: Fanon, Concepcion, or Boston?
- 29:16[SPEAKER_03]: He didn't put Jerry Judy in here.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_03]: That's shot.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_00]: It might be Boston.
- 29:24[SPEAKER_03]: Boston will get the deep downfield targets, so there's a good chance he could lay the team in receiving.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_00]: Especially if Shudor likes to push the ball and he's good at it.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_00]: It could be, and he's been popping off in the camps and stuff.
- 29:36[SPEAKER_00]: I liked Boston.
- 29:37[SPEAKER_00]: If I was picking, I would have taken Boston where we took KC and KC where we took Boston.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_00]: Now we ended up with both, so I was super happy, but I liked it.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_00]: I just, I don't not anti-KC anything.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_00]: I'm actually really excited to watch and play.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_00]: But the Browns have had sub-6 foot wide or C was my entire life.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I mean, I wanted the Browns to have that big body part of this school dude.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_00]: It fit, yes.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_00]: So I would have, I wouldn't have risk not getting it.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_00]: But in fact, they got both.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_00]: Cudos to Andrew Barry.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_00]: And I think I can't believe it.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_00]: I think they could be a good wide receiver core.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know what to expect this year.
- 30:17[SPEAKER_00]: because it's just like, well, how much can you depend on rookies?
- 30:22[SPEAKER_00]: Like, not everybody's a drummer chase, who just comes in, rookie gear, and it's a top three ride receiver in football, or Justin Jefferson.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_00]: So it's like, he'll scheme a mob.
- 30:33[SPEAKER_02]: You know what, here's a selfish thing for me, and we have these alumni here tonight.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_02]: And I was speaking with Reggie Leghorn.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_02]: He was one of my favorites.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_02]: I've never met him before.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_02]: It was great to meet him number one.
- 30:42[SPEAKER_02]: But as a guy that loved those browns from 85 to 89, and we got conception and we got Boston, in my mind, I'm like, man, that's laying home slaughter.
- 30:52[SPEAKER_02]: Let's just redo that, like, just selfishly.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_02]: Now I don't wanna put that on that team.
- 30:57[SPEAKER_02]: That was that team from the 80s.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_02]: This team's gotta be this team right now.
- 31:01[SPEAKER_02]: But, man, I just thought, like, Webster's gonna beat him.
- 31:04[SPEAKER_02]: Like, Webster always beat him large on the deep ball, and it was the other way around.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_02]: So, laying horn beat him in the slants and that kind of stuff, right?
- 31:15[SPEAKER_02]: Now, we're looking the other way from the smaller guy to do that, the big guy to catch the long ball.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_02]: Either way, man, it's exciting that they have that duo.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_02]: Cause most teams have that.
- 31:24[SPEAKER_02]: They have a big guy.
- 31:25[SPEAKER_02]: They have a big guy that can do the slans get down.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_02]: They have a fast guy that can get the long ball.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_02]: It's a great compliment.
- 31:32[SPEAKER_03]: Let's talk about the trio though, because I think on the outside, we're going to get some good downfield always with Isaiah Bond on the other side.
- 31:38[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think he looks good in this.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_03]: Yes, and that's going to open
- 31:40[SPEAKER_03]: a lot for conception and fan in the area because one thing I was talking about on the show the other day too and I just want to reiterate, you're not seeing these big splashy highlight plays from KC in practice right now because that's not his role.
- 31:53[SPEAKER_03]: You got Denzel Boston making the deep down fieldside line grabs the contested catches coming down with these moss, you know, catches and it's awesome.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_03]: with conception, his role as we've always said this, get him the ball quick, get the ball in his hands because he's a lead at making guys miss and making yards after the catch.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_03]: So he's it's different.
- 32:12[SPEAKER_03]: So that's why you're not seeing it, but I'm telling you they're high on him too.
- 32:15[SPEAKER_02]: To touch what on you, what you said too is Mungton said one thing.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_02]: have an elite trait and I'll take advantage of it.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_02]: And then what do you say?
- 32:23[SPEAKER_02]: What are the actions dictates?
- 32:25[SPEAKER_02]: Well, what are we doing in these OTIs and these practices?
- 32:29[SPEAKER_02]: We're passing the ball down to Boston to try and stop it since elite trait.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_02]: Or it's just catch radius anyways.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_02]: As we'll do it down the field, right?
- 32:36[SPEAKER_03]: I kind of speak to Blake's point about.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_03]: What should we expect from rookies though?
- 32:41[SPEAKER_03]: I was reading exact jacks and put this out the other day and I was Verifying on their website the Browns only we have 90 man roster right now almost a hundred players on this team only five of them are 30 or order Yeah, and by the time the season starts like he said we could have 30 guys on this team that have two or fewer years of experience so
- 32:59[SPEAKER_03]: There's going to be growing pains that are going to be mistakes.
- 33:01[SPEAKER_03]: There's going to be dumb mental mistakes that were on our couches at home and in the stadium going what the are we doing here.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but that's as long as it's getting ironed out, you don't want to see them make in the same mistakes game after game after game.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_00]: You hope by the end of the season, some of that's like if you can, you're going to have these mental mistakes he's growing pains early in the year and then hopefully like you're saying.
- 33:21[SPEAKER_00]: What you the mistakes you made week one, you're not making week five, six, seven, even later into the season.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_00]: Jerry Judy gets phased out could he be a trade deadline trade candidate?
- 33:33[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know the numbers Yeah, go ahead and talk.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_00]: I'll pull it up because the answer is yes because you talk like you said We're high on Boston.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_00]: We think Boston's gonna be that that deep downfield guy Obviously KC they took in the first round.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_00]: They have big planes for him You can't handle fan that had a hundred targets last year one of the best young tight-ends and football receiving tight-ends and football when I say a bond
- 33:54[SPEAKER_00]: has been a huge riser so far.
- 33:56[SPEAKER_00]: I really can't.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_00]: I think I say a bond like the sky is the limit for him.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_00]: I mean he was he's a guy that didn't if there wasn't for the off the field issues.
- 34:05[SPEAKER_00]: was going to get drafted, you know, pretty early.
- 34:08[SPEAKER_00]: Where does Jerry Judy fit into that?
- 34:10[SPEAKER_00]: Because we can say, well, he's our most seasoned bet.
- 34:13[SPEAKER_00]: But he's the worst one.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_03]: He and he, well, they're scheduled to come into.
- 34:17[SPEAKER_03]: Well, he's not even heard much about him at all.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_00]: No, he's not even on my radar.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_00]: I think there's a good, like, your receivers are probably going to, or not probably are going to be Boston, KC, Bond, Judy.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_00]: And then after that, I'm not even really sure.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you're Wallace, you need Wallace.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_02]: So all of us, especially in here, yeah.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_02]: Someone's got to be the gunner.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_02]: He's making some spot splash plays.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_02]: If he's the Boads well on.
- 34:45[SPEAKER_03]: Six year veteran.
- 34:46[SPEAKER_03]: So I mean, he's a guy that's been around.
- 34:48[SPEAKER_03]: You can kind of add a little veteran presence to that room.
- 34:52[SPEAKER_03]: If we get rid of Judy or to him.
- 34:54[SPEAKER_03]: But yes, Judy could be traded.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_03]: Now that it's after June 1st.
- 34:58[SPEAKER_03]: and the Browns would save money.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_03]: It wouldn't be like a big dead cap hit or anything.
- 35:01[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, that's something to watch for.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_03]: Him and Tilman.
- 35:04[SPEAKER_03]: Because I think Tilman's owed a road.
- 35:06[SPEAKER_03]: Isn't he owed a bonus or something this year because he's played over 35% of Snapson and his rookie contractor, something I forget.
- 35:12[SPEAKER_03]: Would you trade Judy before the season?
- 35:14[SPEAKER_00]: Are you kind of do you need him at first?
- 35:18[SPEAKER_00]: Because if not, do you want a roll Boston, KC, and bond out there?
- 35:23[SPEAKER_00]: Like that's an extremely inexperienced wide receiver core.
- 35:27[SPEAKER_00]: So I would say, I would say, you know, some kind of veteran.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_03]: I would say yes, but my one big concern with Jerry Judy is just his, and we've seen it though, the Deva wide receiver in him.
- 35:36[SPEAKER_03]: Like if he starts, if he starts as the top dog on the offense, but starts to get phased out and he's seeing two to three target to game, Boston's getting seven or eight, Casey's getting seven or eight.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_03]: How long until he's not happy on the sidelines or not given his full effort?
- 35:51[SPEAKER_03]: We've seen this.
- 35:52[SPEAKER_02]: That depends how long it deals with this though, true.
- 35:55[SPEAKER_02]: Kevin never dealt with that.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_02]: You just let him have the fix on the sideline.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_02]: So I don't see that going too well with munking at all.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_00]: So I just don't see what value he brings to the team, but I also don't know if I want to put...
- 36:09[SPEAKER_00]: a second year wide receiver, a second year tight end, and then two rookie rookie wide receivers, with a second year running back and probably a second year quarterback, and our other our other tight end is going to be a rookie unless it's Blake Whiteheart, and five brain new starting offensive line.
- 36:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, with a rookie left tackle, see you guys there might be some mistakes are going on in the season.
- 36:28[SPEAKER_03]: We do like the temper.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't mean to just even like do that, but if you, I mean think about that.
- 36:34[SPEAKER_00]: Even if you do keep
- 36:37[SPEAKER_00]: The so much of this offense is just brand new, not even to this team, to the league.
- 36:44[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 36:44[SPEAKER_00]: Second, two second year running backs, two rookie wide receivers, a second year tight end, a second year wide receiver, a second year quarterback, forestarting new offensive line to the team.
- 36:56[SPEAKER_00]: We had more to start it in 1999.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_02]: You get more of veterans when we started in 99, like it's crazy.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_02]: And that popped in my head when Vegas came out, and we saw the list of all the games you were favored in, too.
- 37:09[SPEAKER_02]: You know, and in my head, we were two and 14 and two in 1999.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_02]: I'm like, oh man, I hope that's not a sign, but I mean, there's talent, though.
- 37:18[SPEAKER_02]: This team's got talent.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's a young talent.
- 37:21[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's a, I still think we're a year away before we're actually competitive.
- 37:26[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe two years away from being like legit playoff push contenders.
- 37:31[SPEAKER_00]: But I do think
- 37:33[SPEAKER_00]: Monkin is a good coach very young roster with this with his college Yeah, I agree with you there for sure.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_00]: You know, I mean, like a college coach is about developing high school kids into, you know, like young men getting in a place like Georgia getting them ready for the NFL So it's just like an extension of that.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, we're basically rolling out into Anna, it's team that just won the title is older.
- 37:57[SPEAKER_00]: Might be older per capita
- 38:00[SPEAKER_00]: Then what the Browns are about to roll out on their NFL field.
- 38:03[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, very true.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_03]: We might need to just pause for one second.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_03]: They're doing the National Anthem, guys.
- 38:09[SPEAKER_03]: Hang on one second.

- 40:09[SPEAKER_00]: We should hear the B-52s fly in the morning and second.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_00]: If you guys ever, I was at the Hall of Fame game this year and they did a fly over it.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_00]: the the Hall of Fame stadium is obviously not as big as a traditional NFL stadium.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_00]: This plane.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_00]: It was crazy.
- 40:27[SPEAKER_00]: Shook it man.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_00]: It was.
- 40:28[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_02]: Do the where the Red Blacks play.
- 40:31[SPEAKER_02]: It's the same side stadium and they get the get the planes coming over and they bam it just shakes you.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_02]: It was it was crazy.
- 40:38[SPEAKER_03]: But well, you were talking about Todd Monk and I wanted to add into like with the college experience with young guys Like there might be a little more ability for him to command respect from the younger guys because You know how it goes like once these guys get established in the NFL.
- 40:52[SPEAKER_03]: They become 10-year veterans and they've got some pro bulls maybe all pros some records and numbers The ego starts to come up to some guys come in with it right off the bat and that doesn't always vote well, but
- 41:03[SPEAKER_03]: Right now we do have a lot of young talent.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_03]: I think he is a very good coach to help cultivate and harvest and grow that talent.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_00]: This says, uh, keep Jerry Judy as a deep boy.
- 41:15[SPEAKER_00]: Who's who's rolling their defense to the receiver?
- 41:17[SPEAKER_00]: You can't catch.
- 41:20[SPEAKER_00]: Speaking of can't catch or we can start with the drops in camp.
- 41:24[SPEAKER_03]: I will be concerned in training camp.
- 41:27[SPEAKER_02]: So my thing is is, root and burgs preaching, get your hands up, and they're not gonna ball out more.
- 41:34[SPEAKER_02]: So the defense is doing what their defense according to once.
- 41:38[SPEAKER_02]: However, the quarterback's gotta put it in a position to not have that happen at some of those throws.
- 41:46[SPEAKER_02]: Some of it is just gonna happen because it's the nature of the beast in camp.
- 41:51[SPEAKER_02]: The interceptions though,
- 41:55[SPEAKER_00]: little bit.
- 41:56[SPEAKER_00]: I don't like throwing interceptions when there's zero pass rush.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_00]: You can hold it for in eternity and you're still throwing interceptions.
- 42:04[SPEAKER_00]: I don't love that.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_00]: The catchest thing, it's, I don't want to sound like I'm nitpicking, but if it's with KC, I'm more concerned than with others because it was like a known issue coming in.
- 42:19[SPEAKER_00]: but I'm not panicking on any of them.
- 42:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, who are the guys dropping the pass so it'll be real?
- 42:26[SPEAKER_03]: And the thing is, yeah, it kind of is, and you're getting it basically from these highlight clips and it's just tough to really trust how much it's being over exaggerated, but there have been some clips of Casey dropping.
- 42:37[SPEAKER_03]: Judy's drop pass is Judy concerns me more than anybody because he is the veteran.
- 42:42[SPEAKER_03]: And it's still happening now.
- 42:45[SPEAKER_03]: Like with the younger guys, they're trying to learn the nuances of the NFL, the offensive system.
- 42:52[SPEAKER_03]: They've got a lot they're trying to learn.
- 42:53[SPEAKER_03]: I get that.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_03]: Jerry, Judy, man.
- 42:56[SPEAKER_03]: What, seven year veteran now?
- 42:58[SPEAKER_03]: You let the League and Drops last two years, and now it's continuing, even after he professed, you know, I spent all winter on the jugs machine and stuff.
- 43:07[SPEAKER_02]: you still draft these guys you know there's there's weaknesses there's there's the positive parts a lot of these guys don't get out of the weakness part of it you know like if you even if you look at whoever proble or whatever their weaknesses were being drafted a lot of them still have those things and you know Jerry Judy is what he is
- 43:27[SPEAKER_02]: He's going to guy that's going to get you big plays from time to time, but he's going to have mental lapses and he's going to drop some balls.
- 43:32[SPEAKER_02]: What is this?
- 43:33[SPEAKER_02]: This was scouting port says.
- 43:35[SPEAKER_02]: And nothing's changed, you know?
- 43:37[SPEAKER_02]: So, but I do feel like when I watch conception, man, that guy is skies for a ball based on his attributes, is impressive.
- 43:46[SPEAKER_02]: I don't see that coming from Jerry Judy, you know?
- 43:49[SPEAKER_02]: The fight for the ball is not there, he has to be very soft.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_02]: Schemeed wide open.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_02]: Yes.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_02]: Schemeed wide open.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 43:58[SPEAKER_00]: when he said Jerry Judy was just a guy.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_00]: We got full in the thinking Jerry Judy could be a wide receiver one because of a five, 16th stretch of James Winston.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_03]: Correct.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_00]: He was a trotist before that and he was a trotist after that.
- 44:14[SPEAKER_00]: He just had a stretch that got him, you know, people starting to think that he was going to be good.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_00]: He is anything but that is a guy.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_00]: He is a, that is a wide receiver three on a good team.
- 44:28[SPEAKER_00]: Like somebody said, do you think we could get a fifth round pick for him?
- 44:31[SPEAKER_03]: Isn't that what we traded to get him?
- 44:33[SPEAKER_03]: It's a fourth and fourth and a fifth or something.
- 44:36[SPEAKER_03]: Honestly, to get him on the team, at least we didn't invest heavily, because remember, the first year we were talking about, well, could the Browns Trayford Jerry, if you guys think the Broncos were asking for a first round pick.
- 44:45[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 44:46[SPEAKER_03]: Andrew Barry said, now thanks.
- 44:47[SPEAKER_03]: And in the following season, we got him for like a fourth and a fifth or whatever it ended up being.
- 44:51[SPEAKER_03]: Right.
- 44:51[SPEAKER_03]: Got him on a wide, low end, wide receiver, two contracts.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_03]: Thankfully, he's not a mistake as far as the draft capital invested in money, but it wasn't a mistake to think last year he could be our top dot guy.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_00]: And we kind of saw that coming in.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_00]: I think for last year we kept saying where we hope he's good, but we got to seem to do it two years and a row before we give him that.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_00]: And then, and obviously you weren't getting great offensive play last year in general.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_00]: You weren't getting great quarterback play a lot of the time.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_00]: There's no run game, but at some point, like if you're good-wide receiver, like you'll do some good things.
- 45:33[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean?
- 45:35[SPEAKER_00]: It's just like there was a few and far between and it's just to me It's like the Lacka effort like if if just in Jefferson can go out there and play with J. J. McCarthy's bum ass And still be positive and still be putting a hundred ten percent effort out there Jerry Judy can do that you would think
- 45:54[SPEAKER_00]: You know, so it's like he's got he's got like just it like you know T.O.
- 46:00[SPEAKER_03]: kind of attitude with Corey Coleman production You know Man and it does suck and honestly speaking about you know Could he be traded before the season or up to the trade deadline?
- 46:15[SPEAKER_03]: I mean if if his attitude Sersh to become an issue and it doesn't fit with what Duncan wants with the rest of this roster and
- 46:24[SPEAKER_03]: These are hard-working guys.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_03]: They're here to work.
- 46:28[SPEAKER_03]: They're here to win or they want to be good So if he's out there throwing attitude half as trying to catch passes because he's only been targeted once and you know the last three quarters That's I don't think that's gonna fly
- 46:41[SPEAKER_02]: The Browns wanted coachable players, these guys are definitely coachable, and they're definitely guys that want to, or high effort, it was another one that they used when they were drafting players.
- 46:50[SPEAKER_02]: All these guys are high effort too, it's impressive to see them practice, you know.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_00]: Luke said, hopefully you could make it up the treaty kit.
- 46:58[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, don't tell me the baby's got you yawning now.
- 47:01[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know if I don't know if I will get invited like we did the one year to watch from the players tent after my jury duty rant and your local spats with the media.
- 47:13[SPEAKER_03]: I kind of, I remember getting in trouble when we were up there too, because I walked out onto the end of the end zone to start high five and players and say hi to guys and one of the security guys that you can't be out here.
- 47:22[SPEAKER_03]: I'm like, but everybody else is coming out.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, that would be awesome though.
- 47:26[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, there's a spot in with the media man.
- 47:28[SPEAKER_03]: Those guys.
- 47:29[SPEAKER_03]: Those guys.
- 47:30[SPEAKER_03]: Whether they're.
- 47:31[SPEAKER_03]: The thing, all right, so Ken Carman cracked me up because I've never said anything you mean to Ken Carman.
- 47:37[SPEAKER_03]: I don't even know he knew who we really even were.
- 47:39[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, everybody knows who he, I guess so.
- 47:41[SPEAKER_03]: I guess I'm still not there.
- 47:42[SPEAKER_02]: He's a thousand, man.
- 47:43[SPEAKER_02]: 20,000 in the counten.
- 47:45[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, and he was, he was saying about the quarterback thing the other day.
- 47:48[SPEAKER_03]: The first, I wake up, I make my coffee and sit in there with the kids, you know, just lounging in my wife's work.
- 47:54[SPEAKER_03]: I'm like, wait a minute.
- 47:55[SPEAKER_03]: So now we're already talking about if Todd Munkins not going to name a starter, then both guys must suck.
- 48:01[SPEAKER_03]: I don't, and I, why is the media, the Cleveland media is hell bent on forcing Todd Monk and to name a starter.
- 48:08[SPEAKER_03]: You have to name one, they, they've been on that, and I said the other day, April before the draft.
- 48:12[SPEAKER_03]: Mary K. Cabas said, they should name to Sean Washington, QB1 now.
- 48:16[SPEAKER_03]: Why?
- 48:18[SPEAKER_03]: If he can't be, if he can't just automatically be QB1 when he's cleared medically, then he definitely needs to earn it.
- 48:23[SPEAKER_00]: Is there a, is there a, is there a, is there a, is there a, is there a, is there a, is there a, is there a, is there a, is there a, is there a, is there a, is there a, is there a, is there a, is there a, is there a, is there a, is there a, is there a, is there a, is there a, is there a, is
- 48:31[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I think probably by, I mean, honestly, should be, at least after the first preseason game.
- 48:38[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I would say, I would like to, yes.
- 48:42[SPEAKER_00]: If you want to give them each, oh, like our, it's tough because if you want to see you want to give them each a quarter in that preseason game,
- 48:50[SPEAKER_00]: they're playing against nobody's probably, especially who goes in second.
- 48:54[SPEAKER_02]: I was going to say you know, how it the preseason shakes out who they play.
- 48:58[SPEAKER_00]: So honestly, it's those, it's those joint practices.
- 49:00[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I was in the, there's a season game.
- 49:02[SPEAKER_00]: So honestly, like maybe it's the second preseason game.
- 49:05[SPEAKER_00]: After your first joint practice or something, maybe,
- 49:10[SPEAKER_00]: you need to have.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_00]: I would like to have the starter named at least before that third.
- 49:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 49:13[SPEAKER_00]: That way, you can maybe go out and get a quarter dresser.
- 49:16[SPEAKER_00]: I know some people don't use the pre-season like we used to, but for a team that's going to have all new players.
- 49:23[SPEAKER_00]: They got it.
- 49:24[SPEAKER_00]: The whole new offense can be different, man.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I would like to use that third pre name your starter by you know by the before that third game You know use the your joint practices or whatever and then give them a quarter dress rehearsal in that third game And I don't care if they're playing against Bums that these guys they got to play together because I know we're not we don't have great expectations for the season Maybe minds lower than some people's but you don't want to come out to get Owen for
- 49:54[SPEAKER_00]: right you know and you definitely don't want to come out to get on for because you're having communications issues you got to try to all we haven't jell it with these guys these guys haven't hardly played together we've had an entire consumer you know so i don't want to hear that as an excuse heading into week one like these guys got to play together like that's let them play together
- 50:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, so I don't think you can stretch this all the way into, like, week, oh, we're heading into week one game week, and he's going to, we'll know is starter come Wednesday.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 50:22[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, I think you got, there's got to be some kind of a time frame.
- 50:26[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I do think the earlier the better, but somebody's got to earn it, and King does give it to somebody.
- 50:31[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, no, absolutely.
- 50:32[SPEAKER_03]: And, you know, Andrew Berry was on 92-3 the fan the other day.
- 50:35[SPEAKER_03]: Todd Monkins been asked about this every single day after practice.
- 50:39[SPEAKER_03]: And,
- 50:41[SPEAKER_03]: Pointing to Shador Sanders, they've munken and Andrew Barry both have talked about how he's been growing like he's been getting better and they're really impressed with how he's been able to command the huddle
- 50:54[SPEAKER_03]: Because if you listen to Sean Watson's press conference the other day, Monk and like this offense puts everything on the quarterback.
- 51:00[SPEAKER_03]: The quarterback is responsible for so many things.
- 51:02[SPEAKER_03]: At the line before the SNAP setting protections, calling things out like all this stuff.
- 51:07[SPEAKER_03]: That wasn't necessarily there in the past with Kevin's defense.
- 51:10[SPEAKER_03]: So these guys are learning all this and they both said they're impressed with how Shador has grown into that and in the way he's picking it up.
- 51:20[SPEAKER_03]: Well, I'm not an hour in, do we want to take our quick break real quick?
- 51:24[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, we could take a break, go try to find our first guest, and we'll be right back.
- 51:28[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah!
- 51:30[SPEAKER_01]: It's in our blood, it's in our bones, horns and brown, yeah, we ride for our own, like a dog pack running, we ain't a long game day comes, get ready for the show, it's our call, it's our walk, it's our song, we stand tall, yeah, we've been here all alone, through it all the dog house, then it's strong, we all die, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
- 51:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we all dogs.
