- 0:00So we are getting close. We're getting close to stat
- 0:03base, voices 2023. We're getting close to me.
- 0:09Looking a bit Dapper. Yeah, and I need to figure this
- 0:12out on my Dash. I'm actually, I keep, I need to
- 0:16do that. Like, I need to literally go
- 0:18Uber to the nearest Men's Wearhouse, and I need to go do
- 0:21that today. I need to figure that out.
- 0:23When I'm referring to is, I need to figure out how I am going to
- 0:25look so Dapper. I've been so busy dealing with
- 0:29so many things. And I literally keep forgetting
- 0:31that. I need to pick out my outfit
- 0:33because I haven't done that yet. So thank you to the podcast.
- 0:37Thank you to me. And most importantly, thank you
- 0:40to all of you that are listening because if it wasn't for me,
- 0:42making this podcast today, I wouldn't have remembered.
- 0:45That's what that that's, that is what I mean to do.
- 0:47And probably would have been a pretty pretty I turn around
- 0:51there because I believe the speaking of n is only 8 April
- 0:5427th that's not. Absolutely speaking.
- 0:57I believe it goes from the 25th through the The 28th, something
- 1:01of that nature. So there's a lot to see lot to
- 1:03do lot, to, to experience and I'm excited for so, so knowing
- 1:09that what I wanted to do today, which is practice, practice some
- 1:13thoughts, get some feelings. I'll get some perspectives out
- 1:16and, and, and get your overall to opinion and perspective on
- 1:20these things. I believe that the top of that,
- 1:24I'm going to speak to you today. It's a topic that organizations
- 1:27have to be thinking about. I think, I think, right now
- 1:33times are very tough for organizations.
- 1:36Organizations are having having having very tough decisions to
- 1:40make, I think. But I think this is a time for
- 1:44for organizations to truly Double Down, be thoughtful, be
- 1:49patient and try to find ways. Is to generally look at their
- 1:55employer branding from a very strategic point of view, a very
- 1:58detailed point of view. And I'm at a point of view that
- 2:01should be taken. Seriously, I think the first
- 2:03thing that comes to mind is making sure your internal
- 2:06processes, your internal workings, the culture that you
- 2:09have in your company, make sure that that is true on the front
- 2:14end. Make sure that is true
- 2:16throughout the communication process through hiring, make
- 2:20sure your day-to-day processes internally.
- 2:22A are being communicated to every single applicant.
- 2:27So every single African understands what they're
- 2:28actually getting involved in at a real realistic level.
- 2:31If your systems are your HR or your processes of your
- 2:33leadership or you're in a really interesting time, business-wise
- 2:38and product wise, where you're making completely different,
- 2:40turn around and then you're having a complete new Evolution
- 2:43of a product or a service or whatever, it's going to be.
- 2:46That information is incredibly important to share with the
- 2:49applicant. So number one, from the employer
- 2:51branding perspective, His honesty is detail.
- 2:53This context is is going deep and allowing every single
- 2:57applicant to truly be able to go home.
- 2:59The here's a, here's a test that I always said an employee should
- 3:03be able to go home to their partner, their spouse, their
- 3:06family, and they should be able to have a conversation and very
- 3:09detailed variables about the company and why they like to
- 3:12company. What's so amazing about the
- 3:14company while the company is interesting, how the company is
- 3:16going to impact them personally, but also at a broad level, maybe
- 3:19they should be able to do that with the, with the Love passion
- 3:22and vigor, and veracity to their children, as well as to their
- 3:26potential colleagues and or Partners or family members,
- 3:29whatever it's going to be. And I believe that the most and
- 3:33and by the third or fourth interview, I really believe
- 3:35that. So from an employer branding
- 3:37perspective, you want applicants to walk away saying, oh my gosh,
- 3:42this company is great in these nine ways and it's so deep.
- 3:45And so layered, and it's so varied.
- 3:47And here's what I love and don't love about the company.
- 3:50Here's what I would be doing here.
- 3:51Here's how it would benefit me and all of it should be true.
- 3:56All of it should be 100% true. I can't say it enough.
- 4:02I cannot say it enough, and I think investing in tools.
- 4:05Like, like top employers, we're were you can audit where you can
- 4:10unpack where you can dive in, you can dig in where you can
- 4:14when you can figure some things out.
- 4:16That's smart, right? You can look at things from a
- 4:19benchmarking perspective. You can look at yourself.
- 4:22Right, not only can you go external to Benchmark, you can
- 4:25look at yourself and bring some self-awareness.
- 4:27I love companies to spend dollars money technology to
- 4:30cultivate more self-awareness internally.
- 4:34Look at your business like a like you should look at your
- 4:37business. Sorry the way that you look up
- 4:39look at a human being a human being that invest in therapy
- 4:43invest in whatever they do to understand themselves better.
- 4:47That's exactly what a company should do.
- 4:49Human beings that work out six days a week, eat relatively
- 4:52clean, watch what they put inside their body you know
- 4:56spends a lot of time, unpacking their mind and all these things.
- 5:00A human being that does that the equivalent of that in the
- 5:03business world Is making sure our business is consistently
- 5:06flushing itself out, understanding itself, realizing
- 5:09itself, and being comfortable to communicate that to an
- 5:12applicant. So, that is number one.
- 5:14I can't say that enough. Number two, I believe having
- 5:21having a company that gets excited about investing in the
- 5:24most conceptual, the most nuanced, the most exciting, the
- 5:26most creative employer branding technology.
- 5:29I've been a big fan of it. I created a company called
- 5:32Beyond brand that does that and I did that and I know there are
- 5:35so many there, you know, I'll give them some credit finally
- 5:38after years of an interesting point of view.
- 5:41But before you apply with Nate gujja, they're doing a lot of
- 5:45great work over there. I'll just be very Frank.
- 5:49So many junco. What else?
- 5:54People say glass door, but that's like I'm talking about
- 5:56something more detailed than that in video form.
- 5:59But but anyway, there's a ton of different company services
- 6:02platforms and opportunities. Where companies can utilize
- 6:07technology utilize creativity utilize the marketing team
- 6:11utilize, the pr team, utilize the comms team, and everyone can
- 6:15get together. And just make a lot of great
- 6:16content representing the company and I believe that looks like a
- 6:20lot of different ways to do it. But technology in that section,
- 6:23Is he must I you know I can't I can't state that enough.
- 6:29I think what else here I think from a we talked about honesty
- 6:35was looking a little looking at a list.
- 6:36Now think the last thing is like having an employer branding
- 6:39exited communication strategy and system.
- 6:42That's also something that I just don't think enough
- 6:44companies and thinking about As you exit someone that's
- 6:51incredibly important to figure out how you want to do.
- 6:53So in a way that is really productive.
- 6:56You should add some one where they fully understand, where
- 7:01they lie in the company currently.
- 7:04How they respond, how others, how they're perceived in the
- 7:07company? Perspectives in the company they
- 7:12should leave understanding whether it was their decision or
- 7:15yours, understanding how they can learn and grow and develop
- 7:20from exiting. The company should do a very
- 7:25good job, in my opinion, of supporting that individuals
- 7:29Journey, right, wrong or indifferent in different ways,
- 7:33giving them really deep contents context and Nuance.
- 7:36So I believe Exiting an employee with Grace, but with detail, and
- 7:42with depth and width information is something that is, that is
- 7:46really smart and really key to do.
- 7:48I can't overstate that enough. I think companies that take the
- 7:54exiting process, incredibly seriously, as a way to say, you
- 7:57know what, if I want to edit Anthony, I want Anthony to look
- 8:01back at that experience and say, wow, you know why I thought it
- 8:04was them but it was really was It really was, it was me.
- 8:09And regardless of who would was and why we parted ways the way
- 8:13they parted ways. With me really have me, has me
- 8:15in a position where five years later, I have respect for that
- 8:18company still and I would go to that company.
- 8:20Like there have been companies that have had that experience
- 8:22with there have been fellow managers and leaders that I've
- 8:24had that experience with. I'm feeling that.
- 8:26Now, what's happened pores? Like I will forever always
- 8:28probably go to a place where sure every is or Chris is or or
- 8:31my kids, whatever the case is going to be like, people that I
- 8:33work with where Russia is. We're, we're we're Chris The
- 8:37Chris is and where Jeremy is, whatever?
- 8:40Right there are people in this world.
- 8:41There are companies in this world.
- 8:42We are the way that the relationship exited in Rob and
- 8:45Braden, like anyone forget about my homies there.
- 8:48But like the point that I'm making is and Randy, the point
- 8:53that I'm making is, if something doesn't work out, or something's
- 8:58going to end the way that you exit.
- 8:59It needs to be in a way that both sides can come back to each
- 9:03other and bring value to each other in a way that's like, hey,
- 9:05let's get the gang back together and let's do it again.
- 9:07Again and we've grown and we've learned from the last time so
- 9:10that when we work together again, it can be even better
- 9:13situation and that for me, business contest can help
- 9:18because that can help with the that can help a business and
- 9:20marketing that can help a business and sales that can help
- 9:23a business business with Partnerships that can help you
- 9:25business. From a recruiting perspective.
- 9:28People out here are going to literally go and leave your
- 9:31company and have a good night on the town in New York and they're
- 9:35going to get to talk to them. They're eventually going to Do
- 9:37you do? Well, I actually just quit my
- 9:39job a couple weeks ago but it's really great company.
- 9:42Like okay, well you never know how they're going to explain
- 9:45your company. And if it's a positive
- 9:47experience exiting, it's probably going to be a positive
- 9:49experience exiting their mouth to someone else and then makes
- 9:53sense. And you want the receipt, you
- 9:54know you want you want the person receiving that to save
- 9:57themselves. Let me do some research on this
- 9:59company that company actually sells a lot of cool things.
- 10:02Oh my dad works at a company that could potentially partner
- 10:04and oat my dad actually mentioned them.
- 10:07Like you never know and you want your company to be in a position
- 10:11where it's always going to be able to benefit no matter if.
- 10:13It's on the sales side partnership side HR side teams
- 10:16that whatever it's going to be. So those are just a few
- 10:19thoughts. Out-of-the-box thoughts that I
- 10:21don't think I've ever shared today that I'm probably going to
- 10:23share here in about a month. And as always just a few
- 10:27thoughts, just a few perspectives will talk to you.
