- 0:58Now, here are the host of The United, We scan podcast, And
- 1:06welcome back, everybody episode 27 bill has returned from
- 1:11vacation equal B. Joe knows what he's not quite so
- 1:15busy how was your week games Oh man, it was a lot of fun,
- 1:23finding emails and secret documents and getting
- 1:26information from other sources. With a lot of fun.
- 1:29This week mail volume was moderate this week a little bit
- 1:33heavier than it was last week. So I was appreciative of that
- 1:36for my Rex count, then hearing management, complaining about
- 1:41Rex numbers and carriers and me having to stand there and
- 1:45explain to my supervisor. Why the numbers are way they are
- 1:48now Now instead of the way they were before the Rex count, but
- 1:52we'll get into that later. But other than that, it's been a
- 1:57pretty good quiet week for me overall.
- 2:01How was your week? Are we clear very good?
- 2:06Young lady. That's been out for a couple
- 2:09months now supposed to be back. Yes today and then when she
- 2:16wasn't there at least you were told you yesterday and then we
- 2:22find out that her doctor that needs to clear.
- 2:25Her is so at least one more week.
- 2:32If that longer till she comes back, but they've actually had
- 2:36an RCA Odin that route. So I haven't been asked bullied
- 2:46by my coworker, my cohorts to take small sections, or run
- 2:51Parcels for one's health, I can in a couple weeks.
- 2:53So that's beautiful thing. I had
- 3:09one day Training. And then I worked my Ox route.
- 3:13Then I ran a double yesterday. So that was pretty much my wake.
- 3:21It was fairly easy. Mike's, not quite join in with
- 3:23us yet so we'll catch up with him when he gets here.
- 3:28So I've been privy to some information from upper
- 3:33management that was sent down to lower Management District
- 3:39representatives and all the way down to local post Masters.
- 3:44And this email that the emails that I saw were talking about
- 3:50the wrecks evaluations and the steps that they're taking to
- 3:54ensure that carriers are being quote, unquote, accurate with
- 3:57their scans of, which they've never trained us on.
- 4:02So the emails talks about how they've established this
- 4:06Baseline by analyzing the eight weeks prior to the many males.
- 4:13A survey. So the entire time we were being
- 4:16told all you only need to do the six cans.
- 4:19We're only worried about the six games, don't worry about the
- 4:21rest of them. Well now because you aren't
- 4:24worried about the rest of them and you didn't do them prior to
- 4:27the menu mail survey before you found out that your route was
- 4:30being extremely gooded due to the many mail survey and and the
- 4:34Rex 52 weeks. Now, people are inputting
- 4:39information into the scanner. There are a lot of carriers that
- 4:42are inputting. The right information, thanks to
- 4:45listening to our episode on activity scans.
- 4:47You can find that in our podcast histories, so be sure to go back
- 4:52and listen to those. Make sure you're doing your
- 4:54Skin's, the proper way, and they said that A variation of a
- 4:59hundred and fifty percent more than the Baseline.
- 5:03So if you have zero in the scan column and all of a sudden, you
- 5:08have three in the scan, column your flagged So if you had no
- 5:14box holders but you get four of them every week, you're flagged
- 5:19because now you're putting in for box holders for the week and
- 5:22so their flagging you for that. Your management is get going to
- 5:26be getting emails from their management saying hey this route
- 5:30now has four box holders where they never had any before the
- 5:32mini mail survey. So now you're getting talk to
- 5:37because of that. You think you're in the wrong
- 5:39when you're actually not. So what are your guys thoughts
- 5:42on that? I think if that's happening
- 5:47people need be contacting their District Representatives.
- 5:53We'll start with your local designated union, rep and work
- 5:55your way up the chain. That would be the best way to do
- 5:57it first. And if you're a district rep
- 6:01listening to this, you should be letting your local stewards know
- 6:04about this going around so that way they can be prepared for it.
- 6:10Send if you're a national representative listening to
- 6:12this, you ought to let your DVRs know about it so they can let
- 6:15the abr's in the area towards at.
- 6:17Tell the local stewards exactly. Because this is going to this is
- 6:22going to be a never-ending process and we need to we need
- 6:26to be ahead of them on this and be doing the right thing.
- 6:32You know, there's gonna be a few carriers that are going to try
- 6:35to milk the system and I'm not saying they are doing it or But
- 6:41everything you do, you should be able to say yeah, I had that
- 6:44that day. Do you have proof?
- 6:47Do you have proof that I didn't? So are you telling me that for
- 6:53the two years prior to his men email survey?
- 6:57Where I kept harping to people to do the 6 plus everything
- 7:01else. Certified to the doors and every
- 7:05package pickups and of course, the prior year, which they took
- 7:10the information from from in 2022, 2023 didn't really matter
- 7:15because they set the baselines on eight weeks prior.
- 7:19Is that what you're trying to tell me?
- 7:21That's what I'm telling. You is they're basing
- 7:23everything, eight weeks prior four inputs because they figured
- 7:26within the eight weeks prior, most carriers, got the
- 7:30information because they are whether you know, even though I
- 7:35asked the regional office manager, as to why the
- 7:38postmasters and District reps weren't trained on Rex and his
- 7:42answer was, well, they don't, they choose not to attend or
- 7:44they ignore the zoom trainings and he wasn't willing to make it
- 7:47mandatory. Apparently, everybody was
- 7:51supposed to know all the scans bye-bye eight weeks prior to the
- 7:54mini mail survey. So if you have an office that
- 7:59has one or two WS s entries on a day, but to two routes pop up
- 8:07because they have 11 to 14 that would red flag it, right?
- 8:12Yes. If they had a Gerald, they had
- 8:15zero for the eight weeks prior and then they started in putting
- 8:18them even those routes that only have to add a would get
- 8:22red-flagged Yeah, because to would put you over 150 percent.
- 8:27Exactly. So everybody in that office
- 8:29would be red flag. Yeah.
- 8:34So, I mean you're getting I do. If you're getting talk to about
- 8:38this, you definitely need to talk to your designated union.
- 8:41Rep for sure. So it's one thing they're
- 8:46looking at the amount. That's going above and beyond or
- 8:53what they think is going above and beyond.
- 8:56But why aren't they also looking at the ones that have all zeros?
- 9:02Because that does not support office because that benefits the
- 9:06post office if they have all zeros across the board and the
- 9:09only thing they do is clock in start load and load within 5
- 9:13seconds. Then depart to Route return from
- 9:16Route and five seconds later, they clock out.
- 9:19The post office is perfectly happy.
- 9:21Oh yes. The one going around, is if a
- 9:24package fits in the mailbox, it's not an unscannable parcel.
- 9:29Unscannable Those are shoebox or bigger size with no barcode or
- 9:34ill ill Jetta, bowl-eligible legible.
- 9:38Sorry. Can't talk for a moment.
- 9:43It's got to be a shoebox eyes. Yeah, that doesn't fit in the
- 9:48mailbox. Well, I thought it was designed
- 9:57to be something that wouldn't be.
- 9:58You wouldn't be able to case. So did they change that exceeds
- 10:11any one of the following Dimensions?
- 10:13Now notice it says rigid. So that includes do not Bend
- 10:17articles. Any one of these Dimensions
- 10:22anyone, so five inches in height, 18 inches in length and
- 10:301916 inches in width. So anything that is taller than
- 10:43five inches letter envelope height, anything, that is longer
- 10:47than 18 inches in length, which is longer than most Flats.
- 10:54And one in nine sixteenth in width, which is basically one
- 11:00and three-quarter inches in width but they had to put 9/16
- 11:03because apparently they like larger numbers.
- 11:08Anything beyond that would exceed the measurements.
- 11:14So the thing you want to look for is rigid article and any one
- 11:20of those dimensions and it is a parcel.
- 11:23The other argument is, if it's in your parcel hamper it is a
- 11:29parcel that's been that way since the previous counts, if
- 11:32it's in your parcel, it on your parsley a it counts as a parcel,
- 11:36there are some exceptions to that though.
- 11:39Yeah, unfortunately. But that would be the argument
- 11:43that I would have about it is because I was always told if
- 11:45it's in your hamper it's a parcel.
- 11:49We had that one debunked in our district and still haven't
- 11:54gotten it in writing though. Basically Management's making it
- 12:00up as we go and that shoebox thing that's a sitting area
- 12:04term. Best city carrier.
- 12:08Turner is a city carrier term as well and yes /.
- 12:13That's what it is. Is a spur and that's the the
- 12:16dimensions for a spur shoebox-sized and we don't deal
- 12:21in stroke. So that 18 inch ruled would that
- 12:26mean that I still need my little blue Roar?
- 12:32The interesting thing is that they say we don't need the
- 12:34little blue ruler, but you know what, I think the little blue
- 12:37ruler is going to be more important now than it was with
- 12:40the original count. For that instance.
- 12:43I want mine. I'll tell you what when I got
- 12:46box holders. Are you pull out my blue ruler
- 12:48especially if it looks oversized?
- 12:51Yeah, and it's and then off and I've caught a couple that couple
- 12:55of the larger postcards, you know, that, I get it EDM that
- 13:02measure taller than to make it a flat.
- 13:06Yep, can't remember its rigid article so you can't take those
- 13:11bendable cards like the furniture advertisements that we
- 13:16get are oversized. But they're still a parcel
- 13:20because they are not rigid. You mean?
- 13:26What? A flat because they're not
- 13:29rigid. Yeah, they're not a parcel
- 13:32because there are not rigid, so they would be a flat.
- 13:35So, but yeah, the big thing is, is anything management wants to
- 13:40talk to you about that, make sure you talk with your
- 13:43designated union, representative about it.
- 13:48Because they're going to be cracking down on this even worse
- 13:52than clocking in early. We're still in, we're still in a
- 13:56fight over that one, but they're going to be on this, like, like
- 14:00crap on stink because they, they want to cut people's people's
- 14:06pay upper management. Doesn't look at it.
- 14:09As carriers doing actual work, they look at it as how low can
- 14:13we get our payroll in upper management?
- 14:18That's an unfortunate fact. And I think they're driving this
- 14:25really hard because of table, one, anybody in that table area
- 14:32are probably eligible retirement, so if we piss them
- 14:37off or aggravate them, to the point that they retire, we
- 14:40reduce our costs dramatically. And when they do that and
- 14:45nobody's going to hire in either and they're going to be even
- 14:49more screwed and then we're going to eventually have to turn
- 14:52around and have regular carriers working unfortunately, right
- 14:55City Terriers. Oh well you're going to take
- 14:57this route and you're going to take a piece off of this route
- 15:00and do that one too and you're going to get your 12 hours in
- 15:03today. Hmm.
- 15:10That's the last one you want to go to is, hourly.
- 15:13I mean I've seen a lot of people to know where I could just pass
- 15:17hourly. Oh yeah.
- 15:18They still are. And honestly people you don't
- 15:21want to be go hourly. It's just I have 50 carrier
- 15:27friends who wish they were on a system like ours.
- 15:30Hmm. You know, it's always grass is
- 15:33greener on the other side. There's benefits and drawbacks
- 15:39to both. Yes, City carriers, making them
- 15:43a 200,000 but you know, they have no life.
- 15:48Yeah, they're doing a bunch of pivots.
- 15:52They're doing round steak never done, before they're doing male
- 15:56houses, they've never done before.
- 15:57They don't know if there's dogs there or people, they don't
- 16:00know, you know, things like that.
- 16:03So, At least on the rural side unless you're a sub that is
- 16:08being thrown on every single route in the office that you
- 16:11don't know your regular carriers.
- 16:15You're not going to have to deal with that unless you volunteer
- 16:17to It's only three in the end of the mou it through the end of
- 16:23the mou unless they choose to extend it again.
- 16:27And honestly, I really hope they don't.
- 16:31Yeah, because in our next contract talks, they'll probably
- 16:33want to put that in as a standard in the contract,
- 16:36because we've signed so many mo use for it.
- 16:40But we shall see in what we can or we can only speculate and and
- 16:47we cannot say whether it's fact or fiction.
- 16:54Is it me? Am I paranoid, or is it just a
- 16:59coincidence? The mou ends after National
- 17:02Convention. It does, doesn't it?
- 17:07Number first. Well something we like to call
- 17:13that a coinkidink isn't that. Also just before the next mini
- 17:18mail survey, yes, Something like that.
- 17:44I'm gonna assume that it'll be in that ballpark since it more
- 17:49unlikely is always the last 12 working days of September.
- 17:54So now that way things like that. that's when it'll be
- 18:01however, Cuz they wanted to go into a, they potentially wanted
- 18:09to go into affect the first day of the new guarantee period.
- 18:14The new guarantee here, that's what I was just gonna say, Yeah,
- 18:20I was just saying about you to think are your friends.
- 18:23They're clearing 200,000 a year with the over time they're
- 18:28making daily. That's great, would be nice to
- 18:33have that now, but I'll keep my evaluation with my base salary,
- 18:38over 40 hours. And take that in my take that as
- 18:43part of my retirement. Personally, I'd rather bet I'd
- 18:47rather have it then when I need it.
- 18:50And now yep. Well, like you were mentioning
- 18:57earlier about the parameters is that, you know, established the
- 19:00eight week prior to the mini mail survey, during the, many
- 19:05mail survey we had a carrier flag for excessive DPS errors.
- 19:11And the supervisor wanted to change the number according to a
- 19:15rule, carrier specialist on payroll for the Post Office and
- 19:20I said, no, you can't do that. Because the fact that these
- 19:24numbers are already entered, you're making adjustment based
- 19:28on a level of acceptable errors that have been established by
- 19:33the post office. You can have days where you have
- 19:37over T, the normal amount or unders.
- 19:41Mo map. It's just like your evaluation
- 19:43sometimes you're over sometimes. Yeah, under, but it's a, it's
- 19:48not a per day thing. So, you know, they had a
- 19:52basically a shit about it. Nice to know if you're changing
- 19:55them for falsifying numbers and they came up with a number and I
- 19:58said, so now we know the established parameter that
- 20:01they'll accept and they said, yeah, nice nice is okay.
- 20:05Well, you want everybody to put that number in every day and
- 20:09they said no. And I said, well then, Let's
- 20:11leave his numbers alone because basically they were they were
- 20:17trying to rig it. You can't have an average where
- 20:22the top number is the number you want to be the average.
- 20:25Right. But as we do, evaluation reports
- 20:31of week, not over 2 or 3 days, your numbers for your DPM errors
- 20:36should also be an average over a week.
- 20:40Yeah, you could have 100 one day 30, the next 200, the next, and
- 20:4420 of the next, and it averages out to about 110 pieces.
- 20:48There you go. It's not rocket science, folks.
- 20:52They try to make it that way. It's law to have a seat again.
- 20:58Have you seen the calculations for the 4241?
- 21:00A I'm still trying to figure out what when I delivered a postage
- 21:10due Farhan c.o.d. with the money more order application.
- 21:17I haven't seen them in nine, ten years.
- 21:21But I got credit for him. Well, that's not my fault.
- 21:27I'm trying to figure out why the The comprehensive results of the
- 21:35Rex system documentation that the union got from the post
- 21:40office is more redacted than the information on an SR-71
- 21:43Blackbird. Let's not forget too that for
- 21:49management salts are coming down on people using trips to the
- 21:52door to, I'm sorry. But if it takes me three trips
- 21:55from the truck to the door to deliver three cases of paper
- 21:59towel. I'm putting three trips to the
- 22:02Doran and in some poor or dog food or kitty litter.
- 22:08Or one of the customers that I've delivered to I've delivered
- 22:12lead shot for there are manual relocate.
- 22:18Mm, there are manual. Freedom fillers I delivered a
- 22:28couple weeks ago to a door, I can't carry more than one
- 22:31mattress and at a Time, come on. Now, of course that was three
- 22:35trip. Why not?
- 22:39Or, or what? That's two trips, whether
- 23:03management likes it or not. I'm not going to carry Amazon
- 23:06boxes either below or above a cremated remains.
- 23:09I deserve respect, they deserve respect.
- 23:12I'm sorry. Exactly.
- 23:14Proper handle why they are on that one, that's why they ride
- 23:18up front with me. The whole way, the entire route,
- 23:22if I, if they're at the end of the route, the ride, the entire
- 23:24route up front with me on my shelf, looking out the front
- 23:28window. I'm sorry they deserve that
- 23:29respect. Hm. hey anyway, the ask them how
- 23:38their day is not going to tell anybody, so you know, And I've
- 23:47actually had better conversations with them than I
- 23:49have other people in the postal service right here.
- 23:51Well, this is true but I've had great conversation.
- 23:57Other people in the Postal Service to so I can't complain
- 23:59too much. I'm respectfully being reserved
- 24:04on this matter because I can go so many different ways on that
- 24:08one and we do appreciate that thoroughly.
- 24:15You know, this point was open up that management could be
- 24:18considering the weight of the packages total not the two or
- 24:21more different box dimensions. I'm sorry if a box I have short
- 24:27arms. And there's only so much I can
- 24:32carry it once. Yep.
- 24:35And I mean, just yesterday, I had a package.
- 24:38I mean it wasn't a very huge box, but it was super heavy.
- 24:42And when you have to lift it off the floor into the cart, from
- 24:47the car into the truck. Even if I had used a dolly, I
- 24:50would still have to lift it off the ground into the truck.
- 24:55It is enough that I had enough strength to wear luck.
- 24:58Ali, it's loosen up feels better, but I can hardly breathe
- 25:00or move my arms afterwards. Just right up through my ribs
- 25:04area. It's not the first time that
- 25:05happened, you know. It's you got to use care and
- 25:11like I said, yeah. Well, you also might want to
- 25:16consider a bigger bra. Yeah, they want you to carry all
- 25:2717 packages to the door. In one trip.
- 25:31No matter. Whether it's stacked 17-feet,
- 25:33high or not. You know, it doesn't matter that
- 25:36I'm structure of you and you trip over something and then
- 25:39it's your fault because you weren't wearing green tag shoes
- 25:42even though you're a rural carrier.
- 25:46And then even that it was you know, you sometimes have these
- 25:49boxes, these abnormally large boxes with something heavy in it
- 25:54and it's not in the Box correctly or shifts, whatever's
- 26:00in there wants to shift back and forth on you.
- 26:04We're going to carry on more than one at a time.
- 26:07Don't forget, the awkward teeth to Teemu packages there that
- 26:11look like they were wrapped by a dad in a hurry at Christmas
- 26:13time. I was just a was with what you
- 26:19were just saying. Kristen that brings me to like,
- 26:22with Team lift team with doesn't necessarily mean heavy. it's
- 26:30awkward like if it has if it's a little bit longer and it has a
- 26:34shifting of piece of shifts or slides in there, which will
- 26:40change the distribution of weight.
- 26:44That potentially could be a team with package.
- 26:50I wanted to share this with everybody, because when we
- 26:53started this, And you know, our main goal for those of you out
- 26:59there, they're not quite sure list to get people active within
- 27:03the union. Have a lot of those keyboard
- 27:05Warriors that want to talk a lot of stuff, but they don't want to
- 27:08do anything to attempt to change anything. and, Well that was our
- 27:16main goal. You know I a lot of us are just
- 27:19want change. You got to be active, you got to
- 27:21have you got a voice yourself? they're, that means your Thing
- 27:28for your local or going to be a delegate at your State,
- 27:32Convention going to your local meetings, you know.
- 27:38I'll all that stuff, you know, running for Delegate for
- 27:41National Convention, running for office for State national local
- 27:46boards. You know, it all that can make a
- 27:49difference in one way or another and we have had several people
- 27:54reach out to us to let us know that because of all of us you
- 27:59know they're running further locals instead of getting out of
- 28:02the Union, I'll many people you know you got all these people
- 28:06there. How do I get out?
- 28:06How do I get out and All these, then you have we've had quite a
- 28:10few come to us. So, you know, I was going to get
- 28:12out, but I decided to go the other direction and I'm running
- 28:15to be my local or I'm going to my state meetings now.
- 28:19Or am I, first time delicate at my State Convention that to us
- 28:24was our main goal. It's not necessarily Oh, what
- 28:30people think it may be? I'm trying to put it in terms.
- 28:35It's not going to flag the people who may be listening.
- 28:37Hi guys, it's it's to get me Collective.
- 28:43Yeah, we're making a concerted effort to strengthen the bond
- 28:48between rural carriers here. That's the biggest thing that
- 28:51we're trying to do is is bring people together to follow a
- 28:56common theme, which is to build up Up the rural craft
- 29:02dues-paying nandu is paying. It doesn't matter.
- 29:05We want you guys to be more involved in everyday life as a
- 29:10rural carrier. No it.
- 29:13And it also, you know, the more people that are active in the
- 29:16more people that are stepping up and that's potentially the Next
- 29:20Generation, that could be seated at those boards.
- 29:24That's, you know, people are going to be aging out in
- 29:26retiring or, you know, worse. I don't want to, you know, say
- 29:30that. But, you know, things happen.
- 29:33And there's got to be people that are willing to step up and
- 29:36take on those roles. And being active is a number One
- 29:42way to decide if those people that are willing to step up or
- 29:47worthy of those positions. Are you yourself thinking that
- 29:53maybe hey, you know, maybe I'll try and go for that, you know,
- 29:58it's you can't and Kristen, let me add in here.
- 30:03But can I add in here now? Yeah, you were talking about,
- 30:09you know, get involved in the local state and, you know,
- 30:12Regional National, but the the first thing we're trying to do
- 30:16is get you to step up in your office.
- 30:21Protect yourself. Protect others.
- 30:24Challenge management. Greet me, get walk on you.
- 30:29Yeah. So if you start to step, stand
- 30:32up for yourself, guess what? You made the first positive step
- 30:36in regards to what we're trying to accomplish, we're trying to
- 30:40help you protect yourself from management.
- 30:45And it starts right in your office every day.
- 30:51I would say even if you just Doing more than acknowledging
- 30:59that the contract exists. The sink, you know, 603 exist.
- 31:04The you're actually opening it up looking through, it retaining
- 31:08that information. Which is the rules that we that
- 31:16govern our job. That is the handbook that is,
- 31:20you know, that is the rules and regulation we have to follow and
- 31:24that management should be following.
- 31:27So you know, what is expected of you and what manage how
- 31:33management should be? Following those rules. so, you
- 31:41can protect yourself when your own and if you have questions,
- 31:46you know, get with your local representation so they can
- 31:52assist you in better understanding what it says. you
- 31:59know, because there is a lot of for lack of better.
- 32:03Terms, grey terminology A lot of ambiguity and can be yeah, that,
- 32:11you know, that's up to interpretation.
- 32:18Yeah, you don't have to be a local Steward to get this
- 32:22information either. You don't have to be the
- 32:26District representative of the Union, to get this information.
- 32:29You can have this information as a rural carrier because your job
- 32:34depends on knowing this information depends on you
- 32:38understanding this information. We're just trying to entice you
- 32:43to go investigate this information and understand this
- 32:48information. Wrong.
- 32:51P 603 should be get every single case.
- 32:55Interesting about it, your case. Well you Barbie lighting
- 32:57management. No, because that's standard
- 32:59operation 40 contract is available on the NRL, see a
- 33:05website. And even if you're not a member,
- 33:10there are other websites that can give you that information,
- 33:14or you can ask your management for a copy of.
- 33:17It management should have a copy of it too.
- 33:21That's what he said, should they should.
- 33:26But they do have some, do they do have access to it on blue?
- 33:37It was so they do have access to it.
- 33:41A lot of my say I don't have access to that.
- 33:42Yes they do. Even if you aren't a
- 33:44full-fledged management member you can access it on blue.
- 33:50Well, my supervised so stupid when I asked for the radar
- 33:53report. She said she didn't live near
- 33:56the airport. I thought you would have said,
- 34:01she doesn't know the weather. She didn't know whether she
- 34:06lived near the airport. Oh God, or she would have said,
- 34:17I've never spent in my life, I don't know.
- 34:19A radar is, you know, what's nice about being on the cruise
- 34:25ship? Is that unless you sign up for a
- 34:2830 dollar a day, Wi-Fi option on there, you know, you don't get
- 34:33anything, are you your phone until you hit a Port of Call
- 34:37that first Port of Call was Orlando, my phone blew up Next,
- 34:42the next Port of Call was NASA, my phone blew up.
- 34:46I'm sitting there going, what the hell is going on in my
- 34:48office? So, any other things you guys
- 35:01want to found on About Management with this, these
- 35:05updates they're giving us other than carriers, getting talk to
- 35:10about scans that they're now making that they weren't making
- 35:13before. but even some of them I've seen, say that, you know,
- 35:19they've always been making these scans but now because they're
- 35:25Watching a more closely. It's a somebody with a large CD
- 35:33use a large amount of CPUs and it takes them three or four or
- 35:38five trips. Now they're getting flagged on
- 35:42that even though it's something they've been in putting in from
- 35:44the beginning. Well then they should get a
- 35:50satchel. Because the credit for a satchel
- 35:53is a lot higher than multiple authorized dismount.
- 35:59Because then that's a Time factor to.
- 36:02Yeah, because number one, you get the, you get the Satchel
- 36:05credit for taking the spatula at the office and loading it with
- 36:10your first see, BU. And then they have to come out
- 36:13and time you for each reload for each consecutive CBU section
- 36:19that you have Management. Also claiming that the
- 36:27eventually be able to change the wreck scans and they'll have a
- 36:30program to do that. That's what I just heard that.
- 36:34I just heard that to the other day I'm like really.
- 36:37So not only are you changing our times on our time cards
- 36:41previously. Now you're going to be able to
- 36:44change the scans that we input. So now I'm a input 15 unscanned
- 36:50Parcels in the day and you go. Nope.
- 36:52That's Wrong. I'm only giving you for, I don't
- 36:55think so. I'm sorry if I input a scan,
- 37:00there's a reason I input that scan, and if you change it on
- 37:03me, that's a falsifying, a government document and any
- 37:06carrier. That's getting.
- 37:07That should be fighting for that.
- 37:13Ode to change a scan is, if you Something an error scrolling
- 37:20through like a start deviation. Just something that's awkwardly
- 37:23hanging out there that shouldn't be mmm-hmm or an alcoholic.
- 37:28Allow return to watch or a return to lunch without a not
- 37:32out to lunch or a double clock in or something of that nature
- 37:37where you're scrolling through to hit return to unit and you
- 37:40hit something and you have no clue what you hit you know that
- 37:44we go. Hey I just hit something by
- 37:45accident you know, can we take care of that?
- 37:48That I could see. It's being, okay.
- 37:52The only thing, I'd rather I'd rather.
- 37:57The extra tents for the two-step.
- 38:03To verify, you know, to put up the, the verification message.
- 38:08Do you want to? Start deviation.
- 38:12Or did you want to? Clock apps, sell stamps.
- 38:20Why do you like the city carriers?
- 38:23Why don't they? They were potentially talking
- 38:49about trying to get it. So we gra those out, once you
- 38:52get them the first time, yeah. Any any scan that does not have
- 38:57a second window to it? Should have a verification
- 39:00attached to it and once it's been done once, if it's a single
- 39:03use, only scan, it should be grayed out.
- 39:06And if you don't have this, if you don't have the clock in
- 39:11clock out, should be grayed out. Until after, you know, that
- 39:15talking. Yeah, you know, it should gray
- 39:20out the ones that you can't use, until you've done the one before
- 39:24it. So if you haven't hit load,
- 39:27start load vehicle and load vehicle should be grayed out.
- 39:32Technically clock out and be great out until you hit return
- 39:36to unit. Well.
- 39:41That depends. Because if you think about it,
- 39:44your post is dues and that type of stuff are down underneath.
- 39:50So, I mean, you could accidentally clock out when you
- 39:53go to hit a posters do, If you don't, you'll be
- 40:07brought into. You have to still be in the
- 40:09office because management won't call off.
- 40:12But they say, you don't have to take the trucks out but case
- 40:15everything up. So you should still be clocking
- 40:18in but you should not load truck to Parker out all that stuff so
- 40:22you should be able to still clock out with the scanner.
- 40:26You know it'll be interesting to see if they do anything with
- 40:29those in general. Are we this a or if with the you
- 40:33get sick on the route or an incident occurs?
- 40:40you not going back and going to no, and these scanners, you can
- 40:51adjust the sensitivity on him, but that doesn't always help you
- 40:55because if you would like to have the option of Finger and
- 41:03stylus or glove in Silas. Well, the stylus is more
- 41:06sensitive. You know, when you get rain
- 41:10drops on them, they start to go off on their own, you know, with
- 41:14as dry as it's been too, right? Sunlight or it's dries, it's
- 41:20been in my area due to the lack of rain.
- 41:23We just finally got a little bit of today and you know, I don't
- 41:27have to wipe the dust off of those know who knows, you, you
- 41:32pump it up against your water bottle on it, on the tray, or
- 41:35you set it upside down and it just starts going off on you.
- 41:39Oh, there's so many things, but My scanner.
- 41:44So sensitive, he cries. That too.
- 41:49Well, it's because it's your scanner Bill.
- 41:51We know how you treat it. Actually.
- 41:54Hey Kristen Kristen Stan, got a question for you Chris.
- 41:58Okay. Is there somebody you know on
- 42:00this podcast that would love to get into the servers to find out
- 42:05whether or not they record? The changes management.
- 42:07Does two carriers entries, you know somebody.
- 42:11Uh-huh. Why?
- 42:14I just might I just might yeah. Yeah, I know you would.
- 42:22I actually want to see the entire program.
- 42:24I want to see all the all the coding that went into these
- 42:27scanners actually want to go line by line in the coating.
- 42:32Yeah, you'd be sitting there like you're on viagra for 24
- 42:36hours. Do you think four pages of
- 42:43questions is a lot for something?
- 42:45Just imagine the the document I'd write reading through that
- 42:48coating of the scanners that I'd have.
- 42:53All right. Look, all right, by never.
- 42:54You mean? No, but if F men, if management
- 43:02is allowed to edit scans, I 100% require personally and I think
- 43:13everybody would require this to that it pops up an alert on the
- 43:18carrier scanner that they did it.
- 43:22The next day when you log into that scanner and you sign in
- 43:26with your name and it was your edit your edits that were
- 43:30changed. It should tell you that you're
- 43:32at your scans from the previous day were edited by management.
- 43:38Because you're going to have management members and I know of
- 43:42somebody who would that would go in and remove everybody's
- 43:47information. We all know some manager that's
- 43:51going to do that and are tweak. The numbers to an acceptable
- 43:55amount exactly like Bill was saying, you know, oh there's an
- 44:01acceptable amount, but this is way too high for that.
- 44:04Well, guess what, that's what they're going to be doing, or
- 44:06like, like I was just talking about with the eight weeks
- 44:09previously, where carriers are getting talk to about that?
- 44:12Well, they'll edit those numbers down to where they're now an
- 44:14acceptable levels. So they don't have to get a
- 44:16message from their district manager.
- 44:21We can't allow them to do that. That was my biggest concern with
- 44:26the DPS errors Journey at the mini mail survey that management
- 44:31saying is unacceptable on what Baseline are they making that
- 44:35assumption because nobody counts them during the eight weeks the
- 44:39year or two years prior to the men email survey.
- 44:43So where's their Baseline established?
- 44:47Laughter cuz cuz imma let me tell you, yeah, it DPS hasn't
- 44:52been all that clean lately. No, I have more upside down than
- 44:56regulars, left last week. Yeah, this this past week I had
- 45:02in the same day. Spectrum, which is a cable
- 45:07company. And then the water company both
- 45:11had a well. The Spectrum was Nine probably
- 45:1680 to 90% coverage. The water company was 100%
- 45:20coverage were except for one hands Holdsworth but the clerk
- 45:25put into the machine. We're all upside down.
- 45:30Little Rock's wrote that are usually only has a handful maybe
- 45:34two of DPS a day. 99 boxes. Yesterday for example, I was
- 45:42going in and and Friday I was pulling stuff out for every
- 45:46other route in my office plus a couple neighboring towns and
- 45:50that is actually kind of rare for my ID PSI, my Ox route.
- 45:55Usually it's really on point maybe once in a great while I'll
- 45:58get I miss Center, I miss sort but I had quite a bit the last
- 46:03two days. Well, like I said that one day,
- 46:10you're talking 1200 plus pieces and Barry were upside down.
- 46:20To me what's amazing to me is that management seems to think
- 46:23that if they micromanage us worse than they do City
- 46:27carriers, I feel bad for our city carry brother and listening
- 46:30to the conference calls from the district managers.
- 46:35I do feel really bad for our city, carrier Brethren and
- 46:39sisters, but they're trying to micromanage us like City
- 46:43carriers, and go above and beyond.
- 46:45And they do with City carriers and treating us like like were
- 46:48criminals. Doing these extra scams.
- 46:52And we are criminals. Most of us are doing it.
- 46:55The right way, most of us are doing exactly what we're
- 46:58supposed to be doing, and we're still being treated like
- 47:00criminals stealing money from the post office, just because
- 47:04we're being actually factually accurate.
- 47:10Never ending. But you do have those few out
- 47:16there they're trying to cheat the system which triggers all
- 47:20these alerts which is what it's supposed to be for.
- 47:24But you've got to carriers that are doing the right thing that
- 47:26are getting marked like me. I've been doing the proper scans
- 47:30over the last year and I can say that because my management said
- 47:34I was doing a mall for the last year and I'm still getting
- 47:38flagged for it. Why am I getting flagged when
- 47:42the eight weeks prior to them an email survey?
- 47:44I was doing the scans that above and beyond the six cans, but
- 47:48yet, even I'm getting flagged Everybody's getting flagged in
- 47:53one way or another, except the routes that have zeros.
- 47:59Nobody's paying attention to the routes that have zeros.
- 48:03Those are the ones that they should really be talking to.
- 48:06Well, I agree. 100%, yeah, if 96 percent of your office is, you
- 48:14know, making the entry and 4% isn't there, something wrong
- 48:17with the 4%, folks? So if you have access and that's
- 48:24where they need, the upper management needs to get to their
- 48:28local management be like, hey, oh did you not train these
- 48:32people properly? But again that's not going to
- 48:34happen because it works out in their favor and not the carriers
- 48:39So, if you get sat down to talk about why you're doing
- 48:42quote-unquote, excessive scans asked him to see how the whole
- 48:45office is doing. And if you see carriers, that
- 48:48have zeros take the time and talk with your brothers and
- 48:50sisters and say, hey look, I was just in talking about getting
- 48:54excessive scanned, even though I'm doing immaculately.
- 48:57But they showed me the sheet and I'm showing they were showing me
- 49:00that you guys weren't getting the same scans.
- 49:02I was there anything I can do to help you understand the scans a
- 49:05little better to help your route.
- 49:09Talk with your fellow carriers, help them out, but I think the
- 49:14biggest ones that are getting flagged were the ones that
- 49:16weren't trained to how to properly do the scans.
- 49:19And then once they became aware of how to do the scans.
- 49:23And now they're actually doing the scans are now getting
- 49:26flagged because they weren't doing them before.
- 49:29Yep. It's, you know, is just again,
- 49:35it's not right. And of course, make sure you're
- 49:41talking with your designated union representative, especially
- 49:45if you keep getting asked, why you're doing so many scans and
- 49:48stuff like that. Talk through designated union,
- 49:50rep, they should have proper guidance for you and your local
- 49:53area. You know, I feel like we're
- 49:58doing one of those medicine commercials where they tell you
- 50:01how this helps you, but I have 14 warnings of what it can do to
- 50:05kill you. Talk.
- 50:07But talk to your doctor and make sure it's the right choice for
- 50:11you. That's right.
- 50:31Everybody, I know. Is everybody, listening should
- 50:34remember that. Yes, so you have to talk with
- 50:38your local designated union. Representative about any issue,
- 50:42you are having in your office because they're the ones that
- 50:45are going to be in there with you.
- 50:47When you talk with management, they're the ones that are going
- 50:50to be in there fighting for you if management decides to turn
- 50:53around and use scanner data for discipline.
- 50:55When they should be, there are the ones who are going to be the
- 50:59Ignition. You need in the office against
- 51:02management so you should be talking with your designated
- 51:05union rep. You should be friends with your
- 51:06designating room, get to know. Your designated union rep and
- 51:10understand where they're coming from, because they're going to
- 51:13be on your side, whether they like you or not, they're going
- 51:16to be on your side. If you get an answer of, I don't
- 51:21know and certain topics. It's probably because they don't
- 51:27know But they should go and find out.
- 51:31They, yes, they should go and see if there is something out
- 51:37there. However, there's a lot of
- 51:41information that they just may not know right now,
- 51:44unfortunately. But there are ways they can do
- 51:48to get that information and they have the resources available to
- 51:53them, to get that information if they wanted to.
- 51:59So that information is even available.
- 52:02Yeah, we sit here and oral diarrhea, all our information
- 52:06out to you on this podcast, But at the end of the day, it's up
- 52:11to your designated union. Representative to guide you in
- 52:14the proper way of things. Yes, we are not official advice
- 52:19by any means where this is just, this is entertainment purposes.
- 52:23Only, this is, like, if we are sitting at the break room table
- 52:28or out on a smoke break at a conference and we're all just
- 52:31shooting the shit together. This is the ladies on it bill is
- 52:35on a smoke break right now before or at the bar.
- 52:40Exactly. Exactly.
- 52:42Yes are out having dinner with your fellow carriers or we're
- 52:47sitting sitting in the in the conference room.
- 52:50Waiting for the local control local meeting to a start.
- 52:56Or after that meeting. Yeah, it really doesn't help
- 53:00when QA doesn't match the 99 page guide honestly.
- 53:06Yeah that's it is starting to contradict itself and
- 53:11unfortunately Or the questions like where the questions?
- 53:15I could ask that mid-stage, don't correlate to the questions
- 53:17that people really have. Yeah.
- 53:23On that note though. I think we're going to wind down
- 53:25for the night and we miss Mike tonight but that's okay.
- 53:30Well, he'll be back when you can and I'll use kind of busy
- 53:32tonight and are happy to have Bill back and if you finish up
- 53:37your move and get things situated.
- 53:41Oh Josh, any of your last commentary for this evening.
- 53:47I say just do what you know to be right, don't try and swap
- 53:57numbers because as we can tell, you know, they're coming down on
- 54:03This right now, I'm happy. This is going to be a short
- 54:06week. I have, if I can make it through
- 54:09till Wednesday, I am off until Tuesday the 27th because my
- 54:14State Convention not this week coming up, but next weekend,
- 54:19well next week. Don't, you know, try not to get
- 54:24overwhelmed. If you do take a step back, take
- 54:26a deep breath. Step back in.
- 54:30And try and have a good week. A lot of a lot of talk on this
- 54:39podcast is directed to help everybody in the rural craft and
- 54:45we don't care if your dues paying or none dues-paying.
- 54:50If you are out there on the streets, delivering the mail.
- 54:53Day in day out, working your butt off, trying to do all these
- 54:57wrecks cans and doing the job that you are being paid to do.
- 55:01We're here for you. We're here to help you.
- 55:05We're here to lead you in the direction.
- 55:08You need to find the information that you need and direct you to
- 55:11your local designated union representative.
- 55:14We do this for our own entertainment and the biggest
- 55:19takeaway you can have from this is I want to learn more And
- 55:25everybody should approach every single day.
- 55:28Trying to learn something new no matter what?
- 55:31How small or how big it is, try to learn something new because
- 55:35we grow as a union. When everybody learns, what they
- 55:40need to learn, go out there, do your job be safe.
- 55:47And go home to your family. No.
- 55:54Well, let me just cap that off with, you know, the fact that we
- 56:00do this for entertainment purposes only, but we're trying
- 56:04to, you know, keep it light, keep it fun, but make it
- 56:07informative along the way. We invest our time freely
- 56:12unpaid. To help our feather fellow
- 56:18brother Brethren and sisters. If we can take this time out and
- 56:24we answer the emails and questions on the chat and
- 56:27everything else, you can take 5 to 10 minutes a day to invest,
