- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jaguar's fans welcome in to do vault daily presented by jing Jack.com and fueled by brass tax coffee.
- 0:04[SPEAKER_00]: It's Wednesday, October 14th, I am your host Jordan Delugo right now we are getting into now that we are officially past the quarter way mark of the 2026 season which is you know the NFL season always flies by it's crazy to think about the fact that the jaguars are four and one.
- 0:22[SPEAKER_00]: top of the AFC South, five games in, we are past the quarter mark of this season, wild times, you know, the NFL season.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_00]: It's just, it's a marathon in a sprint at the same time, but since we are past the quarter mark, we are going to kind of do an updated look at the Jaguar Schedule ahead and an updated final record prediction, kind of where I think this football team is at right now, heading in to week six against the Texans,
- 0:52[SPEAKER_00]: So, as I mentioned, for in one, they have the Texans coming up in London this week.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be really interesting, like against the Eagles, it was a road game, for all intents and purposes, for the Jack Wars.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_00]: The Eagles fans were incredibly loud.
- 1:08[SPEAKER_00]: and when the Jaguars were on offense and so is that going to be the same situation with the Texans?
- 1:16[SPEAKER_00]: This weekend, I don't really think it's going to be that scenario where it's like all Texans fans, like especially when the Texans are one in four, but it'll be interesting.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_00]: And Liam Cohen has talked about he's going to tweak the play calling, he's going to get the play in quicker, maybe shorten up some of the verbiage, all that type of stuff to where the Jaguars
- 1:38[SPEAKER_00]: some of the issues that plague them against the Eagles in general on the road this year.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_00]: They've had some issues with the, I think, just pre-snap operation and communication a little bit when you look at the Broncos game, the Bengals game.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_00]: the Eagles game.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_00]: So hopefully that will help them.
- 1:55[SPEAKER_00]: I've had the Jaguars beating the Texans in London since the schedule came out.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: I have them splitting with the Texans.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_00]: This is going to be a really difficult game though.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_00]: And we're going to preview it a lot over the next several days, but I do have the Jaguars beating the Texans in this one.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_00]: Um, in London, it'll be interesting too to see like do the Jaguars have an advantage with the Texans traveling Thursday night while the Jaguars have already been there for a week.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_00]: That's going to be something to watch as well.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, but yeah, Jaguars I have over the Texans this week to get to five and one.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_00]: Then they have their by week, which is obviously coming at a good time.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_00]: Ants on Harrison going to be out three to five weeks or the rest of the season potentially.
- 2:36[SPEAKER_00]: You know, we just won't know until that surgery happens.
- 2:39[SPEAKER_00]: Exactly how it's looking for ants on Harris and we should find out information on that next week, early to mid next week.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_00]: When the Jaguars return home and he has his orthoscopic surgery.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: But after the buy, the Jaguars have the Colts, which it's in Jacksonville.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: Even if it wasn't in Jacksonville, I'd have the Jaguars beat in the Colts, I think they're the better team right now.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that the Jaguars' biggest issues, offensive line-wise, are probably...
- 3:07[SPEAKER_00]: Not going to pop up as much against the cult as they would against some other teams that they have to play so I'll have the Jaguars getting to 6 and 1 and off to a 2 and a start in their own division, which is a great place to be.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_00]: At the Ravens, I have the Jaguars and Ravens in the same tier right now of teams.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they're both a little bit flawed, but they're both really good in their both.
- 3:30[SPEAKER_00]: Capable of potentially representing the AFC in the Super Bowl if things shake out the right way for them But it's in Baltimore.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_00]: It's coming off of a short week both teams have a short week so it's not like the Ravens have like a buy week or something before that
- 3:44[SPEAKER_00]: But when you have to travel for a short week, I think that really kind of is difficult.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_00]: It's Thursday and I football.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna have the Ravens winning that game, even though I really do think it's a coin flip, I would not be surprised either way on that one.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_00]: But that'll put the Jag wars at six and two.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_00]: And then they have two straight road games, at Tennessee and at New York Giants.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_00]: The road is worrisome when the Jaguars have been on the road this year.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_00]: It's been a little bit crazy when the Jaguars were on the road last year.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of the games were a lot tighter than you would expect them to be.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_00]: But I think that the Jaguars will be in a place at that point where the Titans are...
- 4:25[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to say toothless, like they have some...
- 4:28[SPEAKER_00]: They have some, you know, defensive line and different things, but overall, I think the jackords are just so much better than the Titans.
- 4:33[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to have the jackords winning that game to get to seven and two and then at the Giants, I mean,
- 4:40[SPEAKER_00]: They're plucky, I think they're well coached, they're tough, they've got a good defense of front, they've got guys that can really kind of wreck the game a little bit, but I still think the Jaguars will be able to beat the Giants, even if it's a close game on the road in New Jersey.
- 4:56[SPEAKER_00]: So that gets the Jaguars to eight and two, and then they return home to host the Tennessee Titans.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_00]: Titans, two out of three weeks there,
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that that gets them to nine and two, and I mean, sitting in a really good record, heading to Chicago, to take on the bears.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_00]: It feels like that's one where they might drop it.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_00]: I think the bears obviously have some defensive issues.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_00]: They need to get Caleb Williams back, different things, but,
- 5:25[SPEAKER_00]: At that point, I think things will be looking a good bit different for the bears, and it's a difficult place to play, a really good opponent from a coaching standpoint on both sides of the ball with the bears with Ben Johnson and Dennis Allen.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_00]: I'll give the bears that one, it's just another coin flip in my opinion, but the jag wars I don't think are going to run the table down the stretch.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_00]: So I'll have the Jaguars at 9 and 3 after the Bears game.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_00]: And then they return home to host the Steelers on Monday night football.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_00]: Steelers, they can definitely play spoiler.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_00]: They're like a wild team up and down this year, but I don't see it.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: I really don't see it happening.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Jaguars at home against the Steelers will be able to get the job done to get to 10 and 3.
- 6:13[SPEAKER_00]: And then they go to Texas for two straight weeks.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_00]: At Texans and at Cowboys.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_00]: At Texans, I mean, I'm gonna go with the Texans here.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they're playing good football.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think their defense is going to improve, but even if the Texans are kind of out of it at this point, which remains to be seen, like, after Jaguar is beating the Texans this week, if the Texans fall to one in five, they might be out of it.
- 6:43[SPEAKER_00]: But even if they're out of it, they're going to want to play spoiler for the Jaguars.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to want to beat the Jaguars.
- 6:47[SPEAKER_00]: These are right now the two biggest rivals in the AFC South.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_00]: I know like when you look at the entirety of the Jaguars history, you probably still say the Titans.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_00]: But these are the two rivals in the AFC South right now.
- 6:58[SPEAKER_00]: So Texans in Jaguars, I have the Texans winning that one.
- 7:02[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars splitting with the Texans.
- 7:04[SPEAKER_00]: And that puts the Jaguars record at 10 and 4.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_00]: And then at Cowboys,
- 7:12[SPEAKER_00]: I don't have them losing two straight games.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_00]: That's a Sunday night football game.
- 7:15[SPEAKER_00]: I think it'll probably stay there.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Cowboys probably aren't getting flexed out.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Jaggers will have a really good record.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_00]: So I think they'll be some entry on that game.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_00]: And I'll have the Jaguars winning at Dallas.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_00]: Their defense is in trouble right now.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: They're just not executing.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_00]: They're doing a horrible job defensively.
- 7:38[SPEAKER_00]: So I think the Jaguars get that win to get to 11 and 4.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_00]: Then they play the commanders in Jacksonville.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_00]: Um, if this was on the road, it could be a little bit more of a coin float for me, but in Jacksonville, I'll have the Jaguars taking care of business against the commanders to get to 12 and 4, and then at the Colts to finish the season, we'll probably have some seating implications for the Jaguars 13 and 4, I think, is where the Jaguars are going to finish beating the Colts on the road, and
- 8:11[SPEAKER_00]: It's interesting to say 13-4, where does that get you in terms of the AFC playoff picture?
- 8:18[SPEAKER_00]: Don't know, usually 13-4 is probably not going to get you the one seed.
- 8:22[SPEAKER_00]: It definitely could get you the one seed.
- 8:25[SPEAKER_00]: But I think it probably ends up getting you like the two or the three seed this year.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_00]: That's obviously remains to be seen.
- 8:32[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be interesting to kind of see how the rest of the AFC shakes out with the
- 8:41[SPEAKER_00]: 13M4 is gonna be my final record prediction again.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_00]: I still have the Jaguar as winning the Super Bowl.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_00]: The one bugaboo right now is offensive line.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_00]: If you can get Anton Harris and back in the three to five week timeframe versus like missing the rest of the regular season, that's gonna help you in a big way I would say.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_00]: But even without him, I think the Jaguars will make the moves in a house like from a self-scouting and understanding their own weaknesses to guide themselves into a really good spot heading into the playoffs.
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: And then I just think when you combine Anthony Campanile's defense, which is playing out of their mind, the Jaguars offense, which their highs are as good as anyone.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_00]: the, and they also have a run game now.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_00]: And then the Jaguar special teams, yeah, I think, and Ross Madison's not gonna be out long-term.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't look like so, I think that they have just the most complete team.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_00]: I think that they have,
- 9:45[SPEAKER_00]: the best combination of coaching in the AFC, which I know is a bold statement.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_00]: There's some really good coaching staffs in the AFC, but when you, the totality of it, and then the, again, balance of the offense and defense, I still have the jack-ores winning the Super Bowl.
- 10:01[SPEAKER_00]: They've got to get better though.
- 10:02[SPEAKER_00]: But I think every team in the league would say they need to get better right now if they're going to go win the Super Bowl.
- 10:07[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't think that they're by themselves there.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_00]: I think every single contender needs to improve in certain ways to get to a point where they feel like they can actually go, you know, hoist the lumbarty trophy.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_00]: But that's going to do it for this one.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all tuning in.
