- 1:51Speaker 1: Pastor Jamaal Bryant, you know, obviously a giant in the
- 1:56Speaker 1: world of you know, theology, but this is a business
- 2:00Speaker 1: conversation and you've done something interesting. You've played a major
- 2:05Speaker 1: part in the boycott of Targets. So I want to
- 2:08Speaker 1: talk about a few different things, but we got to
- 2:10Speaker 1: start there, right So for our audience and people that
- 2:14Speaker 1: may not be all the way tapped in with everything
- 2:17Speaker 1: that's been going on, can you talk about why Target
- 2:23Speaker 1: was selected, the demands that you know, you guys have
- 2:28Speaker 1: for Target, where the boycott stands now like give us
- 2:31Speaker 1: the whole rundown.
- 2:33Speaker 4: Yeah. So, first of all, thank you family forgiving me
- 2:36Speaker 4: an opportunity. There were fourteen fortune five hundred companies that
- 2:41Speaker 4: walked away from DEI after the inauguration of Donald John Trump,
- 2:47Speaker 4: and we decided that we would follow the African properb
- 2:51Speaker 4: The best way to eat an elephant is one piece
- 2:53Speaker 4: at a time. So we focused on Target first, not last,
- 2:58Speaker 4: not only first. And we want to tell you all
- 3:01Speaker 4: why number one, ashamedly and embarrassingly, black people spend twelve
- 3:07Speaker 4: million dollars a day in Target number two without there
- 3:13Speaker 4: being any protests, without there being any demonstration. After the
- 3:17Speaker 4: killing of George Floyd, the president and CEO of Target,
- 3:22Speaker 4: they are headquartered in Minneapolis, same place where George Floyd
- 3:25Speaker 4: was killed, came out and had a press conference and said,
- 3:29Speaker 4: watch the language. Family, George Floyd could have been one
- 3:33Speaker 4: of my employees, not colleagues, not staff, one of my employees.
- 3:40Speaker 4: So they made a commitment of two billion dollars that
- 3:45Speaker 4: they were going to invest in black business. They after
- 3:49Speaker 4: the inauguration, walked away from it. So we asked for
- 3:53Speaker 4: four things. The first, if black people are spending twelve
- 3:57Speaker 4: million dollars a day in target invest a quarter of
- 4:01Speaker 4: a billion into black banks so black people can have
- 4:06Speaker 4: access to capital, to stop businesses and to buy homes.
- 4:09Speaker 4: Number two, there are twenty seven targets on college campuses.
- 4:15Speaker 4: None of them are on HBCUs. So we asked them
- 4:18Speaker 4: to partner with six HBCUs and told them to pick
- 4:22Speaker 4: whatever six HBCUs they wanted for their business programs so
- 4:27Speaker 4: that they could scale, so that they could franchise, and
- 4:30Speaker 4: so they could roll out. I'm embarrassed that this is
- 4:33Speaker 4: the largest boycot for black people. It's seventy years since
- 4:39Speaker 4: the Montgomery bus boycott, and his was crazy. We didn't
- 4:43Speaker 4: have a black owned franchise to redirect people too. We
- 4:48Speaker 4: HI five and people to go to Costco as if
- 4:52Speaker 4: that's given back to us. Number four three was that
- 4:56Speaker 4: they would honor the George Floyd commitment of two billion dollars.
- 4:59Speaker 4: In Number four, we gave them a blank check and said,
- 5:03Speaker 4: you all rewrite DEI. You don't have to be called that,
- 5:06Speaker 4: doesn't have to be named that, but show us a
- 5:08Speaker 4: pathway where black people can make it to the C
- 5:11Speaker 4: suites and not just work in the warehouse. And so
- 5:14Speaker 4: that's where it is. We're eighteen weeks later, and I
- 5:18Speaker 4: am so appreciative to your audience to help make this happen.
- 5:22Speaker 4: The valuation of Target has dropped by twelve billion. The
- 5:26Speaker 4: stock has dropped from one hundred and forty five dollars
- 5:29Speaker 4: a share to ninety three dollars a share. Foot traffic
- 5:33Speaker 4: is down by seven point nine percent, and four weeks
- 5:36Speaker 4: ago they slashed the CEO's salary by forty two percent,
- 5:41Speaker 4: and all of it is thanks to us taking the
- 5:44Speaker 4: quans of principle of cooperative economics.
- 5:47Speaker 2: An illegal alien from Guatemala charged with raping a child
- 5:51Speaker 2: in Massachusetts. An MS thirteen gang member from l Salvador
- 5:55Speaker 2: accused of murdering a Texas. Man of Venezuelan charged with
- 5:59Speaker 2: film and selling child pornography in Michigan. These are just
- 6:03Speaker 2: some of the heinous migrant criminals caught because of President
- 6:07Speaker 2: Donald J. Trump's leadership. I'm Christy nom the United States
- 6:11Speaker 2: Secretary of Homeland Security. Under President Trump, attempted illegal border
- 6:15Speaker 2: crossings are at the lowest levels ever recorded, and over
- 6:19Speaker 2: one hundred thousand illegal aliens have been arrested. If you
- 6:22Speaker 2: are here illegally, your next you will be fine. Nearly
- 6:26Speaker 2: one thousand dollars a day. Imprisoned and deported, you will
- 6:30Speaker 2: never return. But if you register using our CBP home
- 6:34Speaker 2: app and leave now, you could be allowed to return legally.
- 6:38Speaker 2: Do what's right. Leave now. Under President Trump America's laws,
- 6:43Speaker 2: border and families will be protected. Sponsored by the United
- 6:46Speaker 2: States Department of Homeland Security,
