- 1:28ramblings podcast, enjoy hail to you all.
- 1:37Well, alright folks, how's it going?
- 1:40How's everybody doing? It's been a while.
- 1:43Didn't have an episode last week as I had mentioned last week.
- 1:48We had family visiting from out of town, out of state, not out
- 1:52of this world, although sometimes those visits from
- 1:57family, can feel like it's you know, out of this world man.
- 2:01But no, it was a, it was my wife's family, her father's
- 2:08sister and husband. So you know, aunt and uncle they
- 2:11live on the West Coast. Most and they're up in years and
- 2:14they don't come out here but that once a year and with some
- 2:19of the you know pandemic restrictions and stuff from last
- 2:22year or two they haven't they haven't made it out here so it's
- 2:27been a couple of years since we all got to see him and we wanted
- 2:33to use the time that we had spending with them you know to
- 2:37be put to good use. So I had I had plans of, you
- 2:43know, having a podcast last week but that changed as you can
- 2:49tell. So actually let me do something
- 2:52real quick and I do that. Yeah, I did.
- 2:56All right so this week's episode is just kind of going to be a
- 2:59recap of the one before and I was able to figure out.
- 3:05Remember last time we had an episode, we had a call that I
- 3:09wanted to listen to from Crow. He's a, do the out in Idaho crow
- 3:17in Idaho. He's their tribe a Believer
- 3:19called the deathlanders because You ever been to Idaho?
- 3:24Those are the Deathlands. Pretty cool guy from what I've
- 3:29gotten the chance to listen to from him.
- 3:33So he had some comments about the topic of last week's podcast
- 3:38or the last podcast I should say about, he didn't self-care and
- 3:41stuff like that. So we're gonna be listening to
- 3:45his voice mail you know and as a reminder the phone lines are 0
- 3:50is open although I don't answer them live.
- 3:52You can always Call in and leave a message, leave a message after
- 3:58the beep. So we're going to be listening
- 4:01to that and it's going to kind of be recapping a bit, the
- 4:05Seeger bloat event that my tribe.
- 4:11And I participated in small group Gathering nothing too
- 4:15elaborate but it was good times. I've shared a little bit of of
- 4:20of content about That. So if you guys go to the YouTube
- 4:26channel, if you're watching this on Spotify or listening to this
- 4:29on any other podcast platform head over to the midgard,
- 4:32musings YouTube channel and you'll see a freyr wicker, man.
- 4:36We call the prayer, man. It's a, it's our, it's our
- 4:39tradition. It's become a tradition for us
- 4:42at Suga, bloat, to make a wicker, man.
- 4:46And Dedicate it to frere. We will gather limbs from the
- 4:53nearby Deadfall of trees, bind it up, you know, with with
- 5:00baling twine or with yeah, baling twine.
- 5:03Usually works really well, we got some straw.
- 5:06So all of the all of the material use to kind of make him
- 5:12what he is, you know, assembled as a like a full-figured body.
- 5:17D, where the branches and Limbs and straw that that made him and
- 5:23then we always include for anybody.
- 5:26That's not familiar with one of freres Infamous features.
- 5:31He is he is, we dedicate our, our wicker van to Freire and in
- 5:37all his phallic Glory. So if you guys go to the YouTube
- 5:42channel and watch the burning of the Wicker, man of the fair, And
- 5:47right, you'll notice that he has a phallic appendage made out of
- 5:51another Branch, so we always do that.
- 5:53We did it on the first years. We recommend that we made and he
- 5:59was a bit crude. We had.
- 6:01I think it was hedge apples. Somehow tied into the into the
- 6:06frame to kind of replicate the Queen's, Right?
- 6:10The gonads that this year, we didn't have any hedge apples.
- 6:15It's really weird hedge apples haven't fallen yet.
- 6:20Whereas a couple years ago, they had fallen aplenty, they were
- 6:24all over the place. So this time we just had the,
- 6:27you know, the shaft and yeah, that that's our thing.
- 6:31So head over to the YouTube channel and check that out and
- 6:37see what it is. It's all about.
- 6:39It was, it was, it was a great time.
- 6:40We did that, you know, dingoes daughter, then go be in our go
- 6:46thee. you know we collectively him and I work together on
- 6:53writing the ritual, you know, the words that we would speak
- 6:58for the ritual and you know and the plan was that either he or I
- 7:04was going to speak but his daughter Kaya Had asked if she
- 7:11could read some of the and then it turned into, could she read
- 7:16the whole thing? And I said, of course, that
- 7:19would be great. So, I didn't record any of that.
- 7:24And there's not going to ever be any recordings of us actually
- 7:26conducting ritual. You know what I'm saying?
- 7:28Like, the closest thing that I have that, you know, we we did
- 7:32the frere, the ferryman burning right before ritual.
- 7:37That was kind of a launch. Into the ritual as it were.
- 7:42And But I won't ever like I won't ever be the one to record
- 7:47any of our rituals just because it just out of respect, you
- 7:51know, I feel like that's kind of one of those things that needs
- 7:54to be kept private to the attendees.
- 7:57Are our, our height are high feasts.
- 8:01Are our holy tides that our tribe adheres to are closed off
- 8:06to the tribe with the exception of you'll, we invite guests and
- 8:11friends and near dear friends to Tribe to participate.
- 8:15So, you know, at our you'll, we will invite either neighboring
- 8:20members of the tribe members of neighboring tribes.
- 8:23For instance, we have Greg Greg Strong whose Chieftain of the
- 8:27Raven Moon Hearth in Nashville. We've had him at every one of
- 8:31our you all events but the Seeker bloke thing.
- 8:33It's for victory, right? And so we we keep that one
- 8:39closed off to to tribe only but so I won't ever like Or anything
- 8:44like that and share it on the internet.
- 8:47But so you get as much as you get from seeing the frere
- 8:52wicker, man, being burnt, sokaya.
- 8:56You know, read the ritual. And it was really sweet because,
- 9:00you know, it's all handwritten. So she's I think six years old
- 9:05now and she was reading, you know, in the dark only thing
- 9:09that was Illuminating. I think dingo maybe had a
- 9:12flashlight, but mainly By the Light of the fire that the
- 9:15burning of the Wicker man provided so you know that whole
- 9:18thing went up in flames and it was very Illuminating and you
- 9:24know, she's six and she's reading the handwriting of Men
- 9:29in their late 30s and several Pages.
- 9:34Actually, you know, so it was a, it was a slower process like the
- 9:38ritual reading lasted longer than it would have had, you
- 9:43know, dengar myself been reading it.
- 9:47But that was, that was the great thing about it is because the
- 9:50time that it took for her, to read through it, she did it
- 9:52very, very well. I mean, I'm, I got to say, you
- 9:54know, for being Sixth and reading a whole, you know,
- 9:58multiple LePage, ritual like that, that's impressive.
- 10:02But I wanted, I wanted her that I wanted to allow that
- 10:05opportunity for her, especially seeing, as you know, she asked
- 10:09for it and asked to do it. I thought that I was a
- 10:14tremendous, I would be a tremendous gesture to celebrate,
- 10:19right? First of all, and have something
- 10:23so, so strong added to the well, and become part of Tribal luck.
- 10:30So, because it lasted a bit longer because, you know, you
- 10:33kind of caught our cause to pause and think about everything
- 10:37that's being said, because, even though you spent the time
- 10:39writing it, right? Even though Dingo and I spent
- 10:40the time pinning, it down, you know, from Pain, you know, from
- 10:44the mine, to the pen, to the paper, listening to it, being
- 10:49recited and having everything being said, you know, she
- 10:52struggled with a couple of were. So there was a community effort,
- 10:54you know, the tribe involved. Got involved to help.
- 10:57Was that word? I'd say it says this, you know,
- 11:00that sort of thing. So even though she read it, it
- 11:03became a kind of tribal Affair. You know, we were all there for
- 11:07it but it was very much a Hands-On thing and you get to
- 11:11really put your focus on what's being said when it's being said
- 11:17because you're not the one saying it so I don't know.
- 11:19Like it worked out, worked out really well.
- 11:23And I didn't want to make sure to tell that you know, here on
- 11:27this podcast because I Oh, that not just our try but a lot of
- 11:31other groups leading up to today.
- 11:36And from you know, a couple weeks ago have been a lot of
- 11:40groups have been observing a celebration of equivalents to
- 11:45see your blog. You know, I know that Eric's
- 11:48Eric shervin's people in Texas, the red gar folk.
- 11:52They have a leaf guy celebration right around that time of the
- 11:57week after we did. Our singer bloat and they have a
- 12:01really neat dedication. I think they're they're you
- 12:05know, Springtime celebration is dedicated to a boon for my
- 12:11understanding. You can probably go back through
- 12:15Eric's, catalog in his in his YouTube videos and find
- 12:20something. I think he did a video or to
- 12:22worry that, you know, he talks about Lisa and what that is.
- 12:26And I know that Him. And I both did a collaboration
- 12:30video talking about will star or a store, which is another
- 12:37commonly referred to. And, and this is, you know, this
- 12:42is this could be a whole conversation goddess. / Moon /
- 12:48month, right? Deity.
- 12:51Whatever. Around the same time of year.
- 12:53So we did like a collaboration video.
- 12:54There's a lot of, you know, stuff from that video that I
- 12:57probably would Go back to and get needed.
- 13:00A little nude polish that one up a bit but anywho between him and
- 13:04I and the content that he's put out and I put out, you know,
- 13:06we've talked about those Springtime celebrations, so you
- 13:10know his tribe, they celebrate liefde, our tribe, clearly
- 13:15Focus, celebrate Seger bloat. And then I've seen some other
- 13:19groups of people or people that represent other groups, talking
- 13:24about celebrating singer bloat, even as recent as this past, You
- 13:28know, so there are a couple of weeks, you know, or at least a
- 13:32full week, we can have whatever past the official date, right?
- 13:39The, the actual date of the Moon, the full moon, but that's
- 13:44fine, you know, whatever works. And then whatever works for you
- 13:47and I see a lot of people when they talk about, Their ritual or
- 13:52ask about what they should do. They get nervous and you know
- 13:56there's there's there's concern like I'm not going to read it
- 13:58right? Or I've never done this before.
- 14:02I'm afraid I'm going to stumble over my words.
- 14:04I'm afraid I'm going to, you know, botch this whole thing and
- 14:08then I get to sit back and reply and say, hey, our tribe Our
- 14:14ritual was led by a six-year-old.
- 14:17It was great. You know.
- 14:19Was it like the most? Like would you say like it's the
- 14:21most eloquent the most elaborate, the most, you know,
- 14:24aesthetic, perfect, you know, whatever.
- 14:27Like know, there was a it was, it was rough around the edges
- 14:29but in that roughness and in that imperfection, it was
- 14:34perfect. And it was, it was great for us.
- 14:36So, because it was so genuine because it was so sincere
- 14:39because it was something that came from the heart, and it was
- 14:43done In that way and in that fashion, right?
- 14:46So I always can go back to that moment that I was a part of and
- 14:52that our tribe celebrated together and can say, you know,
- 14:55look don't don't be so hung up on the On the specifics of it,
- 15:00you know, don't be worried about messing up, right?
- 15:03As it were, don't be worried about falling short, missing a
- 15:06word mispronouncing, the word. I mean if a six-year-old can can
- 15:11do it and if any work well then surely you can as well and just
- 15:16let it come from the heart and let it be genuine and let it be
- 15:20the thing that secures luck for your Kindred, your tribe, your
- 15:24your group. So for everybody and anybody who
- 15:29got the chance to celebrate, whatever else tarah a store, the
- 15:36Seger bloats Leaf, go, whatever you call it, whatever your
- 15:38Springtime celebrations are for the purpose of whatever they
- 15:43are. I hope that all of your
- 15:45celebrations have brought with with them, you know, good
- 15:50results and that you've achieved the desired results in that you
- 15:54receive. Good luck.
- 15:56For the rest of the year into the times of bounty, into the
- 15:59times of Plenty, you know, we look ahead now, into doing
- 16:05things and into it, into achieving things to set
- 16:09ourselves up for the next cycle. We've survived the harshness,
- 16:17we've survived the darkness, we've survived the time of
- 16:20leanness, you know, and Now, we look forward to times of Plenty
- 16:26and Bounty, and celebrating those victories, winning those
- 16:31victories achieving those Victory setting out and doing
- 16:33those things. You know, lots of lives.
- 16:39That's one of the things that, you know, we tried to
- 16:42incorporate into our cigarette boat.
- 16:44Is, you know, everybody here should have a victory that they,
- 16:47that they can celebrate, or should celebrate.
- 16:51Let's talk about that. Let's speak it into existence.
- 16:53Let's Make it so right. Let's let's celebrate in those
- 16:58victories together because one man's Victory.
- 17:00One woman's Victory, one person's Victory amongst the
- 17:03tribe is the tribes Victory and can potentially have benefit for
- 17:08the tribe as a whole. And, you know, your joy is our
- 17:12joy. Your sorrow is our sorrow, that
- 17:14whole thing. And that's what I love love,
- 17:17love, love about the the tribal approach to Heathen.
- 17:22Rated It just fits so well. Out with, you know the very
- 17:28inherent worldviews and then that sort of thing.
- 17:32So hopefully you got a chance to celebrate singer boat with your
- 17:36with your Cannon York. If your extensions of family and
- 17:40even if you didn't even if you celebrate it at solitarily I
- 17:43know we've got some people that are listening and watching that
- 17:47have no real Grassroots Kindred or tribe or anything like that
- 17:52similar close to them or that Not a part of it yet or that
- 17:55they're looking for something, right?
- 17:56And you but yet you still find ways to practice, solitarily,
- 18:03any or solitary practitioner and you do things by yourself or in
- 18:07the confines and in the privacy of your home or whatever Sacred
- 18:11Space that you've set up or deemed appropriate.
- 18:14And so for you as well, for all of our solitary practitioners
- 18:19and I wish, you know, lots of luck and good victories for you
- 18:22as well. And that kind of is a good, I
- 18:25think, segue into crows call, so I'm going to pull that up real
- 18:32quick. And I want us to listen to What
- 18:38he has to say. So Crow once again, is in Idaho
- 18:47and this is him calling in and reference referencing the last
- 18:51podcast episode about, you know, self care.
- 18:54So let's see what here, let's see what he has to say.
- 19:25Like Listen by go out into the forest, or the desert, or the
- 19:30mountains, or wherever you are take time to.
- 19:35Well, listen to yourself, listen to what's going on inside that
- 19:40assesses digest. It and just let it out.
- 19:44Kind of like how smoke is to fire.
- 19:48You burn it and it's gone also to keep an open mind.
- 19:55Like people, I don't think really take time to embrace it
- 20:03and there's just a lot of things that can be taken care of, with
- 20:11an open mind, like, accepting things, like I said before, as
- 20:14they are, or at least, you'll take our time to look at them.
- 20:19Geico won't. If I assessed it this way, I can
- 20:22overcome it. The last two things I think are
- 20:29really kind of pertinent because that's how my wife.
- 20:32And I view things is to Breathe new error in.
- 20:36Find new dirt. No I'm not talking about going
- 20:39like a cross the country or anything you know I mean who has
- 20:44the money for that with flesh with gas prices.
- 20:46They are now oh my God. But you know, they go out go to
- 20:52a different board are or go out to a different mountain and get
- 20:58your boots in this dirt. So when you come home, you can
- 21:03look over it. Look over your boots and they
- 21:05go. Wow.
- 21:05That's that's a memory right there, right?
- 21:08It's their milestones and I think that's most important for
- 21:14healthcare, especially when it comes to us, heathens will very
- 21:17nature base. Anyway, have a good day and
- 21:25he'll Odin and drink lots of water drink, lots of water.
- 21:30Yes. You know, he brings up some set,
- 21:34several good points. And again, in light of the
- 21:37attention on health, you know self-care, taking care of
- 21:41ourselves, keeping an open mind, he's talking about, you know,
- 21:48being Being open to the to those ideas.
- 21:53And not. We talked about Embracing the
- 21:59Solitude that was the word I was looking for embracing embracing
- 22:04that Solitude, you know, there's a place for that.
- 22:09There's definitely a place for it.
- 22:11Even in tribal Heathen re, you know, obviously, the tribe
- 22:18ideally doesn't doesn't function as good without each respective
- 22:24member having a part in What thing in the tribes.
- 22:29Mechanics right in the way it works.
- 22:31Its the engine test to all the Pistons.
- 22:33Have to be firing on all cylinders and everything has to
- 22:36be. Everybody has a place and
- 22:38everybody has a part but the solid, the Solitude solid dude.
- 22:44Well, you know, solitary practitioners and salty.
- 22:45There's a place for that. I find myself finding comfort
- 22:49and solace in solitude a lot. And, you know, you can, you can
- 22:54look at it two from like the perspective of the God's that we
- 22:58venerate, you know, Odin is the chieftain of the aesir, you
- 23:03know, he is their leader, he is their King, he is over that
- 23:06tribe and he and he has many stories of being alone and
- 23:14wandering by himself and not having a companion not having
- 23:18anyone to go with. And there's probably some
- 23:21inherent value to Y that is great, but especially when you
- 23:28consider just you need a break from people sometimes sometimes
- 23:33you just need to get out and get away recently myself, right?
- 23:38I had I had that happen, never fails my phone rings, whenever
- 23:43I'm in the middle of doing something, and this phone call
- 23:47is, you know, way after my work hours.
- 23:52So never fails though. As I said that the last time, it
- 23:55never fails. Anyway, it's not important right
- 24:00now. When I was to say this last week
- 24:04or just this past weekend, rather, you know, there was a
- 24:07gathering of pagans actually one of mentioned Greg earlier from
- 24:12Raven Moon Hearth, he held a belting group or a belt and get
- 24:18together is a belting celebration.
- 24:20You Little early I guess, but it was, it was a beautiful day and
- 24:24it was here in one of our local parks in Murfreesboro Tennessee.
- 24:30And I couldn't attend but one of our One of our members of our
- 24:37tribe did. So there was, you know, there
- 24:39was representation there, which was great, but I was, I was
- 24:42doing my own thing, right? I went out To one of my favorite
- 24:47spots, one of my favorite locations off of the, The
- 24:52Greenway hiking trails and stuff.
- 24:54Right? Wasn't a very long distance for
- 24:57me to go, but it was a solitary thing.
- 25:04I had a purpose in it, you know, I wanted to meditate.
- 25:07I wanted to be alone. I wanted to kind of separate
- 25:12myself from the The world around me and in the end, be alone for
- 25:16a bit. And that's okay.
- 25:18That's actually part of taking care of yourself, right?
- 25:21Don't be, don't be, don't don't feel bad.
- 25:24And like Crow says, you know, embrace the solitude, it's okay
- 25:28to step up step aside or step outside, you know, and go clear
- 25:32your mind and find that like he's talking about.
- 25:35Find that new are, you know, breathing new air and feel new
- 25:40Earth granted, you know, this is Very kind.
- 25:46I know this earth, right? I know the places that I went so
- 25:48it wasn't like I was going to a new place but the experience can
- 25:51be can be new especially as you go into it in a specific state
- 25:55of mind, you know, if you want to You know, get into like a
- 26:01ritual state of mind or whatever.
- 26:02And kind of zone out a little bit and focusing on where you
- 26:06are physically to be able to travel to go other places.
- 26:09So going into the woo type stuff, but you know, it's
- 26:16beneficial, it's beneficial to step outside of where you feel
- 26:23like, you know, you're you're with your community or with your
- 26:25tribe, you with your people, sometimes you just need Step
- 26:28away. Sometimes being around all that
- 26:30can get overwhelming or you just, you know, you need to
- 26:33clear your mind, clear? Clear at all.
- 26:36So it's very beneficial and works great.
- 26:38So like he's saying, you know, embrace the solitude, but don't
- 26:40get lost in it, don't go. I can't I'll never forget i-i've
- 26:47made reference to enough times I think on this podcast for people
- 26:52that are returned listeners, about my ritual journey in
- 26:57November that I went on with my tribesmen, you know, and That
- 27:05was a shamanic Journey, 100% shamanic that.
- 27:12It was a healing ritual. It was, it was a bunch of
- 27:15things, but it was very shamanic and one of the one of the key
- 27:20things that I remember about that whole experience was At
- 27:26some point, I wandered off. I left the circle.
- 27:31I left the I left the sanctity or the, or the, or the safety,
- 27:37right, the sanctuary at the sanctity.
- 27:39I left the sanctuary of My Tribe, right above those, who I
- 27:45was there with. I wandered outside of it and I
- 27:50needed to, I needed to go and do my own thing and I did and then
- 27:58I temporarily got lost not lost in the sense of I didn't know
- 28:03where I was but just lost in the sense of I can see where I need
- 28:08to go, but I don't know how to get there.
- 28:10Like the mechanics of it like getting from point A to point B
- 28:13just was not happening and I could see the end of the tunnel
- 28:17but I couldn't put my feet in front of each other to get to
- 28:20that point, right? And I needed help getting back.
- 28:24I needed help from my goalie and the advice that I received was,
- 28:29you know, it was it's something that I'll never forget and it's
- 28:32something I that I That I'm taking with me on many facets of
- 28:39my life you know. And what he said to me was it's
- 28:42okay to get lost love. It's okay to go out there.
- 28:47Which is don't go so far out that you that you forget your
- 28:50way back. So it's kind of a reminder to me
- 28:55like what you know Crow is saying is it's you know, embrace
- 28:58the Solitude just don't don't get crazy with it, you know,
- 29:01because you can you can get lost in that and it can become
- 29:04something so healing and something so beneficial and
- 29:07something so good can turn into something that ruins us and and
- 29:14you know you got to be careful. Don't don't get so.
- 29:17Austin. It don't feel that.
- 29:17You're so cut off for that. You're so just because you're
- 29:21not a member of a tribe or you don't have, you know, Kindred or
- 29:24a group or whatever you want to call it of people that you can
- 29:27associate with or that you think you can associate with, doesn't
- 29:32mean you have to stay. Hermit and isolated to the point
- 29:36where you have no interaction, as you can just become too.
- 29:42Definitely agree with that, you know, whenever you have the
- 29:45opportunity, go to new places, it doesn't have to be far,
- 29:49doesn't have to be, you know. Like he's talking about with
- 29:53traveling and stuff. It's it is it's a, it's
- 29:56definitely hard time. There's a lot of challenges that
- 29:59we as humans as Humanity. You know, we have a lot of
- 30:04challenges that face us but we persevere and we figure out, you
- 30:10know, what we have to do to make things happen and that's the
- 30:13other. You know, beautiful thing about
- 30:16tribe is that because when you have more people in your corner
- 30:21when you Have more people at your side than there's more
- 30:24opportunities to to meet those challenges and be victorious,
- 30:29right? Because one person by themselves
- 30:32faced with so many challenges is, is less equipped to beat
- 30:40them and to overcome them. When example, you know, I that I
- 30:44can think of right is You are our tribe events are very
- 30:51collaborative with each other, right?
- 30:52No one man does too much, but everybody has a role I say me.
- 30:57Invited me like no one person does too much when we get
- 31:01together and we have our tribal events.
- 31:04You know, we're usually preparing food as well and that
- 31:08in itself is his ritualistic, right?
- 31:10Because we're in the kitchen, and everybody has a role, right?
- 31:15Somebody's going to prep vegetable something.
- 31:16Gonna prep the meet some he's going to fire up the grill.
- 31:18Somebody's going to cook the bread in the oven comes home.
- 31:20He's going to, you know, whatever the stew.
- 31:23You know, everybody's going to have their hand in the pot to
- 31:25stir this to it. Make sure that it doesn't burn
- 31:27or doesn't boil over whatever. You know, if it was just one
- 31:33person doing all that, they be overwhelmed.
- 31:36You know, you burn the this, you don't overcook that it's set,
- 31:40something on fire, right, whatever.
- 31:44And and also to the point of the ritual space when where, or when
- 31:50we're at our VA, you know, no one person is cutting all the
- 31:54wood, you know? No one person is constructing
- 31:57the Wicker, man. We all had our hands on them.
- 32:00You know, some of us had our hands on places of Prayer for
- 32:07good luck. And we, you know, it's like you
- 32:08can't help. But I mean, it's just, it's
- 32:09there, you got to, you got to give them, give them.
- 32:11It'll give them a little tug, you know what I mean?
- 32:13For, good luck for good luck, and good measure.
- 32:17Not to get too graphic, but you get what I'm trying to say?
- 32:20Gotta keep Fair happy. So it's stuff like that, you
- 32:25know, everybody has their hands in and everybody has their their
- 32:29part. And again, it's just a beautiful
- 32:31thing about the tribe. You don't get overwhelmed with
- 32:34so much because you are helping each other.
- 32:36Nobody has their own thing even to the point of outside of that,
- 32:40you know, getting from point A to point B, you know, I mean I'm
- 32:42in a position right now where my car is not roadworthy.
- 32:47I need to get a lot of work done on it, not even a lot of work
- 32:49but I need to get work done on it.
- 32:50That's going to cost this. Right?
- 32:53So when I need to get places or when I need to, you know, be
- 32:58able to Get to the rituals place, you know?
- 33:02And my wife can't take me there or whatever, it's, you know,
- 33:04Dingo and Patrick there, always will make it happen, you know?
- 33:08And I compensate for that, you know, it's, you know, here some
- 33:10gas money. Let me, let me buy the me.
- 33:12Let me do this, let me do that. It's all about the continuous
- 33:17preservation. Of luck and it's a gifting
- 33:23exchange. It's a gifting Silas how we do
- 33:24it, that's how we preserve luck in.
- 33:26It's one of the ways I should say that that we do it is we
- 33:30keep that gifting cycle going. Keep that we keep those Wheels
- 33:34rolling, you know. So if you know we get together
- 33:38and it's you know, we're going to have dinner.
- 33:40So if we all contribute or we bring something to drink you
- 33:43know it's I mean we are We are literally folks.
- 33:48So, you know, there's always some good strong whiskey going
- 33:50around of different stories. I don't think we've ever had the
- 33:54same whiskey more than twice in a year at an event.
- 33:59You know, it's always usually something different.
- 34:03Might have a staple that we keep around, but it's like, always
- 34:07something new. We all contribute to that,
- 34:09right? So solitudes, you know, and in
- 34:17solitary practitioners, you don't get that same experience
- 34:23and that can, that can be, you know, that can put a lot of
- 34:27people into a mental funk. I get it, you know, especially
- 34:30when you see things being shared and it's like, man, I want to be
- 34:35a part of that. I want to do that, you know?
- 34:37And you can, yeah, absolutely can like for, you know, with
- 34:41with with, with Greg's With Greg's event this past weekend.
- 34:50The belting thing, you know it was an open Event, pagans
- 34:54heathens atheist. I mean, anybody, really, I mean,
- 34:57obviously belting, it's, you know, a pagan observance of,
- 35:01but, in that way but I mean it's open to anybody, you know, all
- 35:06ages and I can almost say for sure that In most places, I mean
- 35:14I'll speak to the United States. I do because I can't really
- 35:17speak to what's going on outside of the domestic us.
- 35:20But I think in the majority of places in the United States that
- 35:24anybody that wants to organize an event similar to that, if
- 35:28they want to put a public event on Facebook, you can do it.
- 35:32And I would be surprised at just the the if you don't have
- 35:36somebody that you're, you know, a group or a kindred or
- 35:39whatever. If there's not people that you
- 35:41are, Already connected with create an event like that, where
- 35:43you're like, hey if your Pagan or Pagan friendly come on out
- 35:47and meet guarantee you you're going to get people to show up.
- 35:51I would almost put money on it, I would put money on it
- 35:53actually, no matter where you are, Sometimes it's just taking
- 35:57that step if nobody else is doing it, then you'd be the one
- 36:00that does it, right? And I got that that I got that
- 36:04spark and that idea, thanks to Eric sure.
- 36:09You know, I watched one of his videos years ago and he was
- 36:13talking about you know Pagan events or Heathen events and
- 36:18meetups and how important it is to establish tribe and how
- 36:21important it is to you know, Have have a local community and
- 36:29all that the importance of of tribal, even re and I really
- 36:33sunk my teeth into it and started learning about things
- 36:36and realize that, wow, yeah, there's a lot of different Pagan
- 36:39groups around here and there's even, you know, the Raven Moon.
- 36:42Hearth Kindred has been around for a while and they are
- 36:44definitely Germanic Pagan a little bit to eclectic, right
- 36:48for my particular style at large great people and I said, Greg is
- 36:54a very good friend of mine and on.
- 36:55Honored guests at our hall for our Yule events and you know
- 36:59nothing bad to say about the guy like that.
- 37:01Hey, I just, you know, as far as being a part of a, another
- 37:05extension of families that that wasn't where I was going to go
- 37:09with it. So what did we do?
- 37:11We started something of our own and in the Middle Tennessee
- 37:16area, there's a lot of other, I think Pagan, you know, subgroups
- 37:21and then things it's very for being in the Bible Belt.
- 37:24I got to say, for being so, you know, Christian focused here.
- 37:31There's a there's actually a lot of alternative religion actually
- 37:37live down the road from a believe, it's a Buddhist temple.
- 37:43So, I mean there's a lot of alternative religions not just
- 37:46your regular Christianity sort of thing.
- 37:49So for being in the South, like there's a lot of those types of
- 37:52things. And, but we have our Middle,
- 37:55Tennessee, heathens group. And there's all, you know, it's
- 37:57not very large, its A few hundred members and it's kind of
- 38:01quiet nowadays but that's a start it's a start for something
- 38:07and our tribe exists and as small as it may be it exists.
- 38:11And it can with the right Care at the right Focus.
- 38:15It'll grow. And then that's kind of where we
- 38:18are at. You know, we're in that young
- 38:20early growth stage, where you got a kind of Be careful with
- 38:25the growth. You don't want to grow too fast
- 38:28and not have a good strong Foundation, right?
- 38:30You don't want to, Stay route down for too long either, but
- 38:35there's there's there's movement, there's definitely
- 38:37movement and there's, you know, there will be more that we
- 38:40definitely more. So, what I'm saying is that it
- 38:42can happen, some people actually prefer to be solitary, they
- 38:47prefer to be on the outskirts and not be a part of a group or
- 38:50whatever. And hey if that's your, if
- 38:53that's the way you like the Mambo, then then then by all
- 38:55means keep on dancing, right? But for those that may feel a
- 39:00bit discouraged or bit Wanting of things.
- 39:07It's possible like you can do it and you know, anybody can if
- 39:11there's nothing in the area that, you know, of and people
- 39:13aren't doing it already. You can be the one to start it
- 39:17and you don't always have to be the one that is stuck in that
- 39:21solitary rut, you can find Community, you can build
- 39:25community, you can you can start something yourself, right?
- 39:29And we even talked about not not in great detail but on the last
- 39:34couple of episodes Emmanuel frere is you know talking about
- 39:38making some big steps to have a kind of a community a literal
- 39:44Community built. On property that he's going to
- 39:48be purchasing or plans to purchase and have you know,
- 39:52Community Resources for heathens, you know, schools and
- 39:59markets, maybe or whatever on a camp.
- 40:02I want to put ideas where they are in any but it's you know,
- 40:04having all that, having a Temple of Hope a place of worship that
- 40:08sort of thing. Very ambitious and in really
- 40:12great to hear and great to see So it can be done, you know, to
- 40:18whatever degree, your resources, allow you to, to do that.
- 40:23Then by all means do it, right? Don't sometimes waiting for
- 40:27something else to happen or for somebody else to do it, it's
- 40:32going to leave you waiting for a very long time and you may never
- 40:37get the results. They may just may never happen.
- 40:40You may be waiting for nothing. So I definitely appreciate you
- 40:47Crow for calling in and leaving that really good advice.
- 40:54I love the idea of going outside of the places that you know
- 40:58breathing in new new are you know we're doing that our tribe
- 41:04is doing that later this year. We have plans of going out to
- 41:07North Carolina and meeting up with jme Olufsen and And if
- 41:13y'all with your Workshop, you guys have heard me talk.
- 41:15Plenty about about him, really great guy.
- 41:19And that's going to be new new air, new Earth for our tribe to.
- 41:24I have it. I have been there before, but
- 41:26it's definitely not the norm for me around here.
- 41:30Obviously, I don't see him that often.
- 41:31So it's going to be very refreshing and it's going to be
- 41:34new for the rest of the tribe, right?
- 41:36So we're going out there with a purpose.
- 41:40Definite purpose, a specific purpose.
- 41:43But the very Journey itself, the very essence of going there is
- 41:51part of the part of the purpose to its journeying together
- 41:55literally for another journey and breathing in that that new
- 42:01are feeling that new Earth, you know, connecting with connecting
- 42:05with your you know the earth-mother connecting with you
- 42:09old in that way. Opens up a whole different
- 42:14perspective on things. I think it's, you know, being
- 42:17like Crow says, you know, very nature Centric. and then, It's
- 42:26reconnecting in that way. It's charging man, like it's so
- 42:29electrifying and it could be, you know, that II feel more of
- 42:36that from recent experiences from my recent shamanic journeys
- 42:40and all that. But I think it's heightened
- 42:42because of that but I've always felt it.
- 42:44I've always felt better. when I'm in nature, and when I'm away
- 42:50from, you know, Like, I remember being a kid and growing up, I
- 43:02was always wanting to go outside and play, you know?
- 43:07And when I moved with my family to a place where we had, you
- 43:11know, wooded property, my dad had at the time nearly 17 Acres,
- 43:15you know, that's where it's all a, where I want it to be, you
- 43:18know, when I wasn't in school when I wasn't working, I didn't
- 43:22want to go inside and watch TV. I didn't want to Inside and play
- 43:25video games. I didn't want to go to the mall
- 43:28and I wanted to be in the woods and I'm talking like I'll be
- 43:32back when it's dark kind of kind of thing.
- 43:34I can just go out there, sit down.
- 43:36You know, I went in the woods like I went walking, I went, I
- 43:41went exploring, I went places and I saw things and experience
- 43:45the life around me and I've been it and it felt like home it just
- 43:49it felt like that's where I wanted to be.
- 43:52You know, the lifestyle that I grew up in was very dated, I
- 43:59guess you could say. I mean, it's, you know, I grew
- 44:01up not on a farm, but I work on a farm several days a week.
- 44:04So, you know, in that way I did grow up working on a farm for
- 44:08like a decade from like a time, I was like, 10 or 11 years old
- 44:12until I moved away and move to Tennessee.
- 44:14You know, I worked on a farm, I cut firewood with, you know, I
- 44:20was I was operating chainsaws. I was I was Operating Splitters
- 44:23and splitting wood by hand, with axes and malls, and wedges and
- 44:29sledgehammers. And you know, Couldn't get
- 44:32cutting and baling hay in the summertime and repairing fences,
- 44:36and just being outdoors, literally more than I was
- 44:39indoors. My job was Outdoors for a lot of
- 44:42the time, you know. So I was When I when I, when I
- 44:47tell you like, you know, I moved to Tennessee and I found a
- 44:50different life and I started finding a different career and
- 44:54navigating through my youth and into my young adult years.
- 45:02You know, the concept of, you know, sitting inside or how, you
- 45:04know, climate-controlled jobs and all of the modern
- 45:07conveniences. I was like, whoa.
- 45:08There's this now, you know what I've become like pretty used to
- 45:12that. Like, that's great.
- 45:13I like it. I like not having to, you know,
- 45:17kill myself basically to earn a paycheck.
- 45:19But, you know, some days like the other day, it was, you know,
- 45:24Just I need to get out. I need to go.
- 45:26I need to be, I need to sit on the earth.
- 45:30I need to breathe in the fresh air.
- 45:34I need to feel the sun on my skin.
- 45:37My eyes, I need to take all that in, you know, and I need to be
- 45:42recharged and it did. Like it's great so you can do
- 45:49that anywhere man, you can get you can get no matter where you
- 45:52even if you're in a city you know, there's Parks there's and
- 45:54you know granted you're going to have a lot of other.
- 45:57It's very busy, you know, like there's a lot of stuff even here
- 46:00where I usually go right as nice of a day as it was for for me to
- 46:05be out. So is everybody else, you know?
- 46:08So you know you and you encounter unexpected company
- 46:12sometimes when you go into places that are available to the
- 46:14public, we even talked about that.
- 46:17A few podcasts go about, you know, having ritual in public
- 46:21areas where there's the possibility of being interrupted
- 46:24whether by accident or on purpose.
- 46:25There's there's always that there's always that chance and
- 46:32then, you know, like, there's a highway not too far from where I
- 46:34was sitting so, you know, you got that noise pollution.
- 46:36But again, you do the best you can you get what?
- 46:40You can get out of it. We're in from wherever you are.
- 46:43So, what I'm saying is that there's really no, you know,
- 46:47There's a will there's a way if you want to then you make it,
- 46:51you make it happen, you'll find a way you find a way or you make
- 46:56away. So but yeah, the last thing that
- 47:01I did want to bring to everyone's pensione is tomorrow.
- 47:11Tomorrow for those out of watching this on the unknown,
- 47:13you to so for like you channel members that are catching this

- 48:34Humanity. With a virus.
- 48:37Sound familiar. Yeah, but anyway it's not a very
- 48:40it's pretty common game. I know a lot of folks, I've
- 48:43engage in the interest over the last couple of weeks or whatever
- 48:46people like yeah, I remember that game.
- 48:48I still play it occasionally. It's been a while since I've
