San Andres: Colombia's Cheap Caribbean Flight — Worth It?
🌍 San Andres is Colombia's Caribbean island — four hundred and eighty miles from the mainland, a hundred and fifty from Nicaragua, and the one part of the country where national sales tax is not charged at all. Article 423 of Colombia's tax statute excludes it outright, and a tax-authority ruling of December 2024 extends that to services performed on the island, so hotel and restaurant bills carry no VAT.
