- 0:03Speaker 2: Okay, here we go where.
- 0:04Speaker 1: The plays get broken down and science gets denied. Off
- 0:08Speaker 1: the Bench, Hour two of Off the Bench Live from
- 0:11Speaker 1: the Raising Kine Studio.
- 0:50Speaker 3: All right, welcome back in our number two of O
- 0:53Speaker 3: t B here on this Wednesday morning. So you're never
- 0:56Speaker 3: gonna be joined by our guy, doctor Stephen Athridge.
- 0:58Speaker 4: And now, Doc, how we doing? How we let doing great?
- 1:01Speaker 4: Doing great?
- 1:01Speaker 5: How about y'all.
- 1:03Speaker 4: Strong to quite strong? Kind of like F's portfolio. Let's go.
- 1:06Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 1:08Speaker 6: Doc, we were just talking about your fishing trips past weekend. Yeah, congratulations,
- 1:12Speaker 6: you crushed it.
- 1:13Speaker 5: Oh, we crushed it. I went down to Venice with
- 1:15Speaker 5: we do a trip.
- 1:16Speaker 7: So we have our our sports fellowship and we're bringing
- 1:17Speaker 7: the fellows down kind of tradition every year.
- 1:21Speaker 5: Yeah. They we caught a lot of fish.
- 1:23Speaker 2: You caught an army of red snapper.
- 1:26Speaker 5: Army of red snapper.
- 1:29Speaker 2: What do you look at me like that?
- 1:30Speaker 3: For? I'm just what I do and I'm just listening
- 1:33Speaker 3: to you and knowing that neither one of us can
- 1:36Speaker 3: really go do that.
- 1:36Speaker 2: I know, I know I've snapped. I've read saberfish before.
- 1:39Speaker 4: And the old to Tom.
- 1:41Speaker 6: Tom hurt uh. But Doctor he went fishing. He brought
- 1:47Speaker 6: everybody a little gift, a little gift of my hind.
- 1:50Speaker 5: We did go.
- 1:52Speaker 2: To doctor approved basically.
- 1:54Speaker 3: So Doctor brings it down to a fishing trip. I
- 1:56Speaker 3: make sure the baseball team is hydrated. But we both
- 1:58Speaker 3: got to pay for it.
- 1:59Speaker 4: I got you.
- 2:02Speaker 2: Sorry, Sorry, guys, I don't know if don't want to tell.
- 2:04Speaker 4: You, glad. I was on sell at rouses last month?
- 2:10Speaker 2: What all right? Relax, man? You want me be on
- 2:14Speaker 2: sale forever.
- 2:16Speaker 4: Friends and family discount?
- 2:18Speaker 2: Do you do? You work for free.
- 2:19Speaker 3: Friends and family discount? And say free, you work for
- 2:22Speaker 3: a discount? Do you want me answer to that?
- 2:28Speaker 2: All right?
- 2:28Speaker 4: Doc?
- 2:29Speaker 3: We do have the NBA Finals and it's a OTB finals.
- 2:33Speaker 3: I'm a Knicks fan, a lunt just Spurs fan, so
- 2:35Speaker 3: we're both looking forward to it. There's a couple of
- 2:37Speaker 3: injuries there in the finals, so I'll ask you about
- 2:40Speaker 3: the Knicks injury. Mitchell Robinson, who's actually from shau Matt.
- 2:44Speaker 3: He has a finger injury and he had surgery. Actually,
- 2:48Speaker 3: like when it's kind of like wild to kind of
- 2:52Speaker 3: think about an NBA player having something like that having
- 2:55Speaker 3: surgery and still being available. Now, he is not a score,
- 2:58Speaker 3: that's not why he's in there. He's a he's a rebounder.
- 3:01Speaker 3: He's a kind of a tough guy enforcer, if you will.
- 3:03Speaker 3: Uh so, maybe that's why he can go out there
- 3:05Speaker 3: and play even after having surgery, not like what last week.
- 3:09Speaker 7: Yeah, I think a hand injury of any sort is
- 3:11Speaker 7: going to be obviously detrimental to a sport like basketball,
- 3:15Speaker 7: where you're gonna have to dribble, you're gonna have to
- 3:16Speaker 7: you know, handle the ball, rebound, shoot, and obviously which
- 3:19Speaker 7: hand's gonna be even more relevant. I believe his is
- 3:21Speaker 7: a shooting hand, so that is, yeah, that is gonna
- 3:23Speaker 7: hurt him a little bit more. But if you're if
- 3:25Speaker 7: you're mostly there for defense and rebounds, you can you
- 3:27Speaker 7: can do most of that. Obviously, you want him to
- 3:29Speaker 7: be functional in the event that he has to you know,
- 3:31Speaker 7: take a shot, put a ball, back up, do whatever.
- 3:33Speaker 7: So so, but I think, you know, if it's something
- 3:35Speaker 7: where they're able to to I think what I read
- 3:38Speaker 7: was it was a fifth metacarpol, which is you know
- 3:40Speaker 7: that they call it a finger injine. That's really gonna
- 3:42Speaker 7: be more the bone right below the finger in the hand.
- 3:44Speaker 7: Uh And they said it was a non basketball injury,
- 3:47Speaker 7: so you know there's some speculation there. This is a
- 3:49Speaker 7: this is the fracture that sometimes called a boxers fracture.
- 3:51Speaker 2: Uh huh.
- 3:51Speaker 5: So you never know.
- 3:52Speaker 7: These are the ones that we see a lot of
- 3:54Speaker 7: times somebody. I'm not saying he did this. I no
- 3:56Speaker 7: no accusations out there.
- 3:57Speaker 4: But when you get a little angry maybe well angry
- 3:58Speaker 4: he hit the.
- 3:59Speaker 5: Wall, you know that that's the that's the if.
- 4:01Speaker 7: All I know is that I'm gonna look first, you know,
- 4:03Speaker 7: and we've all done it so so, but but you
- 4:05Speaker 7: can go in, you can plate it. You can usually
- 4:07Speaker 7: kind of put a screw or plate in there and
- 4:09Speaker 7: that helps stabilize it. And that's probably what the surgery
- 4:11Speaker 7: was and it'll get them back quicker. And and you know,
- 4:13Speaker 7: I have to look after after a few days if
- 4:15Speaker 7: it's recovered, well you might see how you can move
- 4:17Speaker 7: the hand. And if you can move the hand and
- 4:19Speaker 7: grip and grasp and shoot, that's.
- 4:21Speaker 3: Was going to ask what the grip strength would be
- 4:23Speaker 3: like a week after a surgery like that, because you
- 4:25Speaker 3: would think, I mean like when you grip like there's
- 4:28Speaker 3: yeah that.
- 4:29Speaker 5: That finger outside the hand exactly where we're talking.
- 4:31Speaker 7: You know, sometimes you don't realize how important that is
- 4:34Speaker 7: until you try to do it.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Uh.
- 4:35Speaker 7: And and if the swelling is still there, if it
- 4:37Speaker 7: if it's pretty irritated and flamed, it's gonna be hard
- 4:39Speaker 7: to grip, especially swelling. Really, I get that swelling out
- 4:41Speaker 7: of it. So, you know, I'm sure they are doing
- 4:43Speaker 7: lots of things. I seen compression, elevation, different you know
- 4:46Speaker 7: him them, Matt, all the different things they're trying to
- 4:48Speaker 7: do in the training room to try and get the
- 4:49Speaker 7: hymns they have, you know, and that's as as a doc,
- 4:53Speaker 7: that's what we say, like, hey, get in the training room,
- 4:55Speaker 7: get with the trainers, get with your pt let's do
- 4:57Speaker 7: everything we can get the swelling down, so you know,
- 4:59Speaker 7: and then they're they're probably doing all the all the
- 5:01Speaker 7: tricks in there, because as soon as the swelling goes down,
- 5:03Speaker 7: then you see if he can move it. And if
- 5:04Speaker 7: he can move it, you know, especially having a you know,
- 5:08Speaker 7: championship series, Matt.
- 5:09Speaker 2: This guy him at work.
- 5:11Speaker 3: I mean, you just made us remember a lot of
- 5:14Speaker 3: our days in a training room.
- 5:16Speaker 2: The glove on the powder.
- 5:18Speaker 7: I think it works, you know, I think all these
- 5:20Speaker 7: modalities work, you know. It's it's interesting, you know there
- 5:22Speaker 7: there's there's a hippo, Matten, shock wave and ultrasound and
- 5:26Speaker 7: you know, all these different things. When when I was
- 5:28Speaker 7: coming up, there as one of those called h wave
- 5:30Speaker 7: is one of the ones that would.
- 5:30Speaker 5: Just twitch you don't. I've never seen by doing that anymore.
- 5:33Speaker 6: But but there's I guess even if it does a little,
- 5:37Speaker 6: a lot of little things stacked up I think make
- 5:40Speaker 6: a substantial right.
- 5:42Speaker 4: Maybe maybe we don't know what's the science behind him
- 5:44Speaker 4: of Matt like.
- 5:45Speaker 6: Well, there's a current going through because you got a
- 5:47Speaker 6: hold like the metal thing, right, So there's a current
- 5:50Speaker 6: going through the trainer, through their hands, yeah, through you.
- 5:56Speaker 2: It's it's wild.
- 5:57Speaker 5: I would watch it.
- 5:57Speaker 7: I'm sure if I tried to still do it. That's okay,
- 6:00Speaker 7: that's one that's still done, you know. And again I
- 6:02Speaker 7: think I think, you know, the key is, I don't
- 6:04Speaker 7: think any of these things in and of themselves are
- 6:06Speaker 7: the thing like you were saying, it's it's probably every
- 6:09Speaker 7: little modality we do probably has a little benefit. And
- 6:12Speaker 7: then if you do them over and over along with
- 6:15Speaker 7: good good treatment, good everything else, it's far the process.
- 6:18Speaker 6: I gotta say, like, if you would have if I
- 6:20Speaker 6: had to like gamble on something that was done in
- 6:24Speaker 6: our day medically in the train room, that would be
- 6:27Speaker 6: obsolete by this point.
- 6:28Speaker 4: I probably would have guessed have a met It would
- 6:30Speaker 4: have been number one on my left.
- 6:31Speaker 2: That would been number one. I would have put some money.
- 6:33Speaker 2: Right there is.
- 6:34Speaker 5: Still going strong.
- 6:35Speaker 4: It is you will.
- 6:37Speaker 7: You could probably go out of the training room right now,
- 6:39Speaker 7: or maybe at least in season when we have more guys.
- 6:41Speaker 5: You'll still see it.
- 6:42Speaker 6: Use respect, okay, and like, look, if you're gonna punch
- 6:46Speaker 6: a wall, odds are you're not going to hit a stud.
- 6:49Speaker 2: You're gonna hit just drywall.
- 6:51Speaker 8: Right, there's a chance it every I think sixteen inches up,
- 6:56Speaker 8: depending on the framing company and what kind of structure
- 6:59Speaker 8: they're building. Ain't how tall they're going. So the odds
- 7:03Speaker 8: are you're not gonna hit him. But if you do,
- 7:06Speaker 8: we're talking about the fifth meta.
- 7:09Speaker 6: Carr brother is a doctor, all right, So let's stick
- 7:17Speaker 6: with the NBA Finals a little bit. So I watched
- 7:20Speaker 6: wimby play and I see him and I look at him,
- 7:24Speaker 6: and I'm like, man, this guy is just looks obviously
- 7:29Speaker 6: different than everybody. He's seven and a half feet tall,
- 7:33Speaker 6: what kind of.
- 7:36Speaker 2: What kind of is?
- 7:37Speaker 6: If you were his team doctor, I look at him like, man,
- 7:41Speaker 6: how can this guy stay healthy because he's so tall,
- 7:44Speaker 6: so long?
- 7:44Speaker 2: Like how how his ligaments? I got a stretch?
- 7:47Speaker 6: Like all these there's so much pressure on these different joints.
- 7:51Speaker 6: Like what would you be watching for, like from the
- 7:53Speaker 6: longevity of his career from an injury standpoint, because like,
- 7:58Speaker 6: you look at a guy like that, we've never seen
- 7:59Speaker 6: again that is actually strong in physical and that athletic
- 8:03Speaker 6: for being that tall. So how is he able to
- 8:06Speaker 6: do it and and stay relatively healthy?
- 8:10Speaker 7: Well, you know you do see these big guys, and
- 8:13Speaker 7: I feel like that the classic one is foot injuries.
- 8:15Speaker 7: You know, you how many of these seven footers you
- 8:17Speaker 7: always hear they had bad feet. There's a guy I
- 8:18Speaker 7: think from high Esta's first rap, first round pick or
- 8:21Speaker 7: first pick overall. I can't remember his name, Oden thank you. Yeah,
- 8:24Speaker 7: that just his feet never really let him get to
- 8:26Speaker 7: that next level. Yeah, And I feel like that's the
- 8:28Speaker 7: common one. But I think, I think, yeah, if you
- 8:30Speaker 7: just look at simple physics and you think about levers
- 8:32Speaker 7: and you think about force, and I think we've talked
- 8:34Speaker 7: about that with some of the soft tissue in the past.
- 8:36Speaker 7: The longer you are, the more forced there is as well.
- 8:38Speaker 7: So it's not just strength and power, but and then
- 8:40Speaker 7: you add strength and power to it.
- 8:42Speaker 2: You know.
- 8:42Speaker 5: I think you just got to really work on rehab.
- 8:44Speaker 7: You got to make sure if you know, look you're
- 8:45Speaker 7: that foot good footwear, you know, good good appropriate reception,
- 8:48Speaker 7: good balance. You want to work those small excess re
- 8:50Speaker 7: muscle groups, you want to work on flexibility, You want
- 8:53Speaker 7: to do all the right things. But you know that
- 8:55Speaker 7: you're it is harder and more difficult in that big body.
- 8:59Speaker 7: You see it all the time with these guys, they
- 9:00Speaker 7: do get hurt more. And there was a class example,
- 9:02Speaker 7: you know, it was Zion down and you know New Orleans.
- 9:05Speaker 7: He's hamstring with him, you know, and that's that's just
- 9:07Speaker 7: been his constant thing. He's a big, powerful, strong guy
- 9:09Speaker 7: and kind of build different.
- 9:11Speaker 6: And I guess, like why. It's like, if you're a
- 9:13Speaker 6: big person, you would think that like the ligaments would
- 9:19Speaker 6: be big enough to hold the body, like to hold
- 9:23Speaker 6: the joints, like you would think everything would be in
- 9:25Speaker 6: proportion to like be able to function like somebody that is,
- 9:29Speaker 6: you know, six inches shorter or whatever.
- 9:31Speaker 7: Yeah, well, and in some examples it definitely is. I mean,
- 9:34Speaker 7: we had another great example local here in Shock. I
- 9:36Speaker 7: mean that guy's he's the East and really, if you
- 9:39Speaker 7: think about his career, pretty healthy, pretty.
- 9:41Speaker 5: Healthy, played a long time in the league.
- 9:42Speaker 7: He didn't have a lot of big injuries, you know,
- 9:44Speaker 7: even you know, you'll see him around now DJ and
- 9:46Speaker 7: doing his thing. He looks like he moves pretty well
- 9:49Speaker 7: for the guy that size, right, you know, And so
- 9:51Speaker 7: I think in a perfect scenario, yeah, these guys are
- 9:55Speaker 7: going to be balanced. But if you have one thing
- 9:57Speaker 7: that's a little bit off. If so, if you've got
- 9:59Speaker 7: a guy with that that frame, who's got that much
- 10:01Speaker 7: weight and that much power and that much explosiveness, and
- 10:04Speaker 7: there's one little part of the chain that's a little
- 10:06Speaker 7: bit weak, you know, the whole week is link mentality.
- 10:08Speaker 7: It's going to be that much more emphasized when you
- 10:10Speaker 7: have that much more force. And so you hope for
- 10:13Speaker 7: that the scenario that you kind of laid out there,
- 10:15Speaker 7: where everything is great, everything is symmetric, but one little
- 10:18Speaker 7: thing and that's and that's really all of us.
- 10:20Speaker 2: You know.
- 10:20Speaker 7: I talk to people about physical therapy and the importance
- 10:22Speaker 7: of therapy.
- 10:22Speaker 5: It's not being strong or weak. It's about being balanced.
- 10:25Speaker 7: And if you have one thing in your chain that's off,
- 10:27Speaker 7: it can really kind of throw a wrench into things.
- 10:29Speaker 3: How do you deal with You mentioned Zion there, and
- 10:32Speaker 3: really I'm just talking about the explosive guys who are
- 10:35Speaker 3: almost too explosive, Like it's so hard for them to
- 10:38Speaker 3: stay healthy because like the human body wasn't designed to
- 10:41Speaker 3: do the things that they can do, and certainly at
- 10:43Speaker 3: their size. Like when you're a team doctor and a
- 10:46Speaker 3: coach is coming to you, Hey, doc, we think and
- 10:49Speaker 3: that's that's the injury case that you're dealing with. Is
- 10:51Speaker 3: somebody that's just really explosive. He's got soft tissue stuff.
- 10:55Speaker 3: What is that conversation like, because it's not like, man,
- 10:57Speaker 3: this guy's kniece just not greater this shoulder. Man, I
- 11:00Speaker 3: don't need, we don't need to take a chance on
- 11:02Speaker 3: this guy. It's soft tissue and it's a lot because
- 11:05Speaker 3: this guy's just really explosive and you can't really keep up.
- 11:08Speaker 7: Yeah, and that's you know, these guys that are just
- 11:10Speaker 7: made different and in a different sense, these real explosive guys,
- 11:13Speaker 7: they're going to have more soft issue. I think it
- 11:15Speaker 7: starts with are they putting in the extra work, Are
- 11:18Speaker 7: they doing the rehab work, Are they doing the extra
- 11:20Speaker 7: things they need to do. These are guys that really
- 11:22Speaker 7: do need to live in the training room even when
- 11:24Speaker 7: they're healthy. And I think that's the that's the part
- 11:25Speaker 7: that's hard. You know, it's easy to do pt when
- 11:27Speaker 7: you're hurt. You know, the guys want to show up, Hey,
- 11:29Speaker 7: I want to be back on the field. My hamstring hurts,
- 11:31Speaker 7: But being consistent with it after the fact, there's a
- 11:33Speaker 7: lot that you can do from a flexibility standpoint, again,
- 11:36Speaker 7: talking about working those sccessory muscles, doing things to kind
- 11:39Speaker 7: of balance yourself out a little bit better.
- 11:41Speaker 5: But if you're not doing them.
- 11:42Speaker 7: And so that's a lot of times where the discussion
- 11:44Speaker 7: starts with the coaches because unfortunately, I'm not saying.
- 11:47Speaker 5: All the all ways, but a lot of these guys.
- 11:49Speaker 7: They're not doing the right things, you know, whether it's
- 11:52Speaker 7: it's from you know, are they are they coming in
- 11:53Speaker 7: for their treatments, Are they doing the things when they're healthy?
- 11:56Speaker 7: Are there is their diet good? And And most of
- 11:58Speaker 7: the times you can kind of go look at it
- 11:59Speaker 7: and there's always the exception of the guy that just
- 12:01Speaker 7: just really is a struggle. And in those scenarios, it
- 12:04Speaker 7: is tough. It's tough with the athletes, it's tough for
- 12:05Speaker 7: the coach, it's tough for us. We got to explain
- 12:07Speaker 7: it and we will pull out all the things we
- 12:09Speaker 7: can do, all the different rehab tricks we've got. Well, well,
- 12:11Speaker 7: you know, that's when we started talking about, is that
- 12:12Speaker 7: somebody that needs an injection of some sort? Is it
- 12:15Speaker 7: is you know, a p RP or a hydro dissection
- 12:17Speaker 7: or another treatment or something we can do for him.
- 12:19Speaker 7: But at the end of the day, they got to
- 12:21Speaker 7: put the work in doc.
- 12:23Speaker 6: There was a video posted last week that lets you
- 12:27Speaker 6: tell your quarterback Sam Levitt slam dunking of football on
- 12:31Speaker 6: a goal post up. He jumped really high, all between
- 12:34Speaker 6: his legs, one hand, hooked dunk. Was that slam dunk
- 12:38Speaker 6: doctor approved?
- 12:39Speaker 7: Typically, any basketball activity when you are a football player.
- 12:44Speaker 5: Is not going to be doctor approved. And I promise
- 12:46Speaker 5: you it is not coach approved.
- 12:48Speaker 2: Well, well, in fairness in football in his hand, it's.
- 12:52Speaker 5: Fair, that's fair and and I get that.
- 12:55Speaker 7: Yeah, there's been some celebratory use of a basketball goal
- 12:58Speaker 7: consistent with our current administration and coaching staff.
- 13:01Speaker 9: So I guess I guess I should take a step back.
- 13:03Speaker 5: In my statements.
- 13:03Speaker 7: But the reality of it is, there's nothing worse than
- 13:06Speaker 7: having a guy get hurt in a non sport.
- 13:09Speaker 5: The sport they play.
- 13:10Speaker 7: Injury and it happens all And I feel like basketball
- 13:12Speaker 7: is a notorious when the football guys they all want
- 13:13Speaker 7: to play basketball, they're at the rect playing ball, they're
- 13:15Speaker 7: doing whatever, and then you get that ankle sprain or
- 13:17Speaker 7: the guy that tours you know, a cl right before
- 13:19Speaker 7: the season starts, and it happens all the time.
- 13:23Speaker 5: Now, having said that, it's impressive to see you, I
- 13:27Speaker 5: will I will give problems a lot.
- 13:28Speaker 6: Of like like by that we played with are like, man, yeah,
- 13:31Speaker 6: I play back, like that's how I stay in shape
- 13:33Speaker 6: in the off season as I go play basketball every day.
- 13:36Speaker 7: And I will say there there is the argument for
- 13:38Speaker 7: you know, cross training that I that I really hold
- 13:40Speaker 7: very strong into.
- 13:41Speaker 5: I think it is good to play multiple sports. And look,
- 13:43Speaker 5: at the end of the day, you're gonna get hurt.
- 13:44Speaker 5: You're gona get hurt, you know.
- 13:45Speaker 7: I remember when I was at Florida State, Laverarnius Colts
- 13:47Speaker 7: rolled his ankle, like a couple of weeks before we
- 13:49Speaker 7: started camp playing basketball, and I mean the coaches were
- 13:52Speaker 7: living and it's one of those I just you know,
- 13:53Speaker 7: because they're like, hey, this guy's gonna.
- 13:55Speaker 5: Be a stud and there was a stud already, so
- 13:57Speaker 5: I mean it happens.
- 14:00Speaker 2: I had cross chair at golfibility.
- 14:04Speaker 3: During the NFL lockout, whatd y'all do as the Packers Nothing,
- 14:10Speaker 3: y'all went back home.
- 14:12Speaker 2: We were locked up.
- 14:13Speaker 4: So well, we were all in San Diego.
- 14:14Speaker 6: We worked at the University of San Diego.
- 14:20Speaker 4: We're in San Diego.
- 14:23Speaker 6: We could tell a story on another segment, but it
- 14:25Speaker 6: was great.
- 14:26Speaker 4: I think, I think I know this one.
- 14:28Speaker 3: But for us well, I brought it up because you
- 14:30Speaker 3: were talking about golf, cross chair or whatever.
- 14:32Speaker 4: We we would do something different.
- 14:34Speaker 3: That's where I actually met Jay Johnson was on the
- 14:37Speaker 3: campus of USD.
- 14:38Speaker 4: He was an assistant coach there.
- 14:40Speaker 3: Uh, we would do something different every day and like
- 14:42Speaker 3: we got to pick like so when I went, it
- 14:44Speaker 3: was like, we're gonna play soccer today, and then like
- 14:46Speaker 3: we played basketball.
- 14:47Speaker 4: Then we played like WHI football game, and.
- 14:49Speaker 3: We did our normal workouts, but like we gotta have
- 14:51Speaker 3: some fun, like we're out here doing it and seeing
- 14:55Speaker 3: some premier athletes NFL future Hall of famers play the
- 14:59Speaker 3: game soccer, it's pretty remarkable.
- 15:03Speaker 2: I've seen him played.
- 15:04Speaker 6: I've seen the best athletes in the world play slop
- 15:06Speaker 6: slow pitch softball, and it's shockingly, how shocking, how bad
- 15:10Speaker 6: athletic the.
- 15:11Speaker 4: Wolf football actually, to your point, might have been the worst.
- 15:13Speaker 5: It doesn't always translate from sports.
- 15:15Speaker 4: Now.
- 15:16Speaker 3: The basketball was high level because we had like Vincent
- 15:20Speaker 3: Jackson played college basketball, Gates play college basketball, we had
- 15:23Speaker 3: Cory Sperry played college Basketballah's so you might be able
- 15:26Speaker 3: to run a four to three.
- 15:27Speaker 6: You had one hundred tackles and eleven interceptions last year,
- 15:30Speaker 6: but like you almost got within three yards of that
- 15:33Speaker 6: pop fly before it.
- 15:34Speaker 2: Hit the ground.
- 15:36Speaker 5: That sound very specific. I don't know.
- 15:37Speaker 2: Yea, and the ball the lands right there next to him?
- 15:43Speaker 4: What so so bad?
- 15:46Speaker 3: Uh? Document man, We appreciate it every single week, uh,

- 18:07Speaker 3: All right, welcome back in oh TV. Here live from
- 18:10Speaker 3: the Raising Kanes studio. Lady my guy, Bill Bender over
- 18:18Speaker 3: at the Sporting News shout out to Bill comes on
- 18:21Speaker 3: the show often, certainly when Matt's not here, because Matt
- 18:23Speaker 3: didn't like talking to other adults. He put out his
- 18:26Speaker 3: top twenty five college quarterbacks. LSU's Sam Levitt comes in
- 18:31Speaker 3: at number ten. The right up here says Levitt is
- 18:35Speaker 3: one of two quarterbacks who were in the top five
- 18:38Speaker 3: on this list who return in twenty twenty six. It's
- 18:41Speaker 3: a fresh start with first year coach Lane Kiffin, and
- 18:44Speaker 3: Levitt should benefit from working with offensive coordinator Charlie Weiss Junior.
- 18:48Speaker 3: Levitt is coming off season ending foot surgery at Arizona State.
- 18:52Speaker 3: He totaled thirty four touchdowns, nine interceptions, and ten rushing
- 18:56Speaker 3: touchdowns with the Sun Devils, and we'll look to recapture
- 18:59Speaker 3: the form that led to a c FP appearance in
- 19:02Speaker 3: twenty twenty four. This should work in Baton Rouge. A
- 19:07Speaker 3: lot of people excited about quarterback Sam Levitt. Ten he
- 19:12Speaker 3: is he is number ten. Give me one that's better.
- 19:17Speaker 4: I give you the nine that they said. All right,
- 19:23Speaker 4: number is it our is our one?
- 19:27Speaker 3: I mean I think we even we know without even
- 19:29Speaker 3: having to like look that that's going to be the case.
- 19:33Speaker 2: It probably it actually should be Trunidad, all right.
- 19:36Speaker 3: So Sam Levit comes in at number ten. Drew Mestemaker
- 19:41Speaker 3: comes in at number nine. That one, woo, I mean
- 19:45Speaker 3: he did.
- 19:45Speaker 12: A good He followed him to yeah because you were
- 19:50Speaker 12: questioning it.
- 19:52Speaker 2: No, he just.
- 19:55Speaker 13: Was like mess to maker, I heard.
- 19:57Speaker 11: You yea through for I think you do for like
- 20:00Speaker 11: forty three hundred a ton.
- 20:02Speaker 3: But that one, that one, No Number eight, Gunner Stockton
- 20:07Speaker 3: of course, quarterback at Uga.
- 20:15Speaker 2: I knew that one.
- 20:16Speaker 4: Okay.
- 20:17Speaker 3: Number seven USC's quarterback. Give me the last name there? Yeah,
- 20:21Speaker 3: that is that is Jade Miava. He comes in at
- 20:25Speaker 3: number seven. Dante Moore comes in at number six. Julian
- 20:28Speaker 3: sayin Ohio State comes in at number five. It may
- 20:31Speaker 3: be a little bit higher than that. Mensa of course,
- 20:36Speaker 3: going from Tulane to Duke to Miami comes in.
- 20:38Speaker 4: At number four. CJ.
- 20:40Speaker 3: Carr Notre Dame quarterback at number three. Arch Man name
- 20:46Speaker 3: number two, Texas quarterback. And then here you go Trinidad
- 20:49Speaker 3: Chamblers number one. This quarterback, So you got.
- 20:52Speaker 4: That right, let's go. Yes, Notre Dames quarterback c J.
- 20:58Speaker 3: Carr is getting a lot of Last year, he threw
- 21:01Speaker 3: for twenty seven hundred plus, completed sixty seven percent of
- 21:04Speaker 3: his passes, twenty four touchdowns, six interceptions, only had thirty
- 21:08Speaker 3: three rushing yards and had three touchdowns.
- 21:12Speaker 2: Did that all against pretty good high school teams too?
- 21:20Speaker 12: Coming into last season too, I feel like, yeah, they
- 21:23Speaker 12: were like Lloyd Carson, OK, yeah, Derek Carr's nephew.
- 21:28Speaker 13: I'm pretty sure.
- 21:30Speaker 11: Everybody's gonna say, yeah, no, I popping numbers. But he
- 21:33Speaker 11: had a great running game. Hope that those guys are
- 21:35Speaker 11: going like CJ. Carr is gonna have a lot on
- 21:37Speaker 11: his shoulders this year, not nearly the weapons he had
- 21:40Speaker 11: around him a year ago.
- 21:41Speaker 9: I just don't get the hype.
- 21:44Speaker 2: I wonder if he was one of the ones that
- 21:46Speaker 2: voted not to play.
- 21:49Speaker 9: He led the charge.
- 21:51Speaker 2: You haven't think he was a team leader. I mean
- 21:52Speaker 2: he's like called it team meeting.
- 21:58Speaker 4: He did.
- 21:58Speaker 2: Let's not play.
- 22:00Speaker 3: Some other quarterbacks in the SEC that are on this list.
- 22:04Speaker 3: Marcel Ree comes in at number twelve. Lenora Cellars comes
- 22:08Speaker 3: in at number thirteen.
- 22:15Speaker 12: Bron Brown Barcel Reed's kind of getting done a little
- 22:18Speaker 12: dirty too, a.
- 22:18Speaker 4: Little bit, he'd be in top of Barcella.
- 22:20Speaker 9: He's only good against all a shoot he's which is
- 22:23Speaker 9: a problem.
- 22:24Speaker 4: Maybe that's why he's fresh on our mind here.
- 22:27Speaker 3: Byron Brown from Auburn coming over from South Florida, comes
- 22:30Speaker 3: in at number seventeen. You definitely knew that you got
- 22:37Speaker 3: John Mattier coming in at number twenty two, Oklahoma quarterback.
- 22:41Speaker 11: Dude before that foot injury last year. But it was
- 22:43Speaker 11: like John Materis is gonna run away with that heisman and.
- 22:46Speaker 4: He was just before he was so good.
- 22:50Speaker 9: They rushed him back.
- 22:51Speaker 2: His hands thumb right, yeah, oh yeah.
- 22:53Speaker 4: You're right.
- 22:53Speaker 9: It was throwing.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Yeah, there's a throwing and had surgery on it during
- 22:57Speaker 2: the scene.
- 22:58Speaker 13: Yeah, they would holding he played in Texas not ready.
- 23:03Speaker 11: If it would have been any other team, they'd have
- 23:05Speaker 11: set him out two more weeks like they should have.
- 23:07Speaker 11: They rushed him back, and he wasn't good the rest
- 23:09Speaker 11: of the year. He wouldn't the same the whole season.
- 23:11Speaker 4: BUTTERI is gonna be just fun.
- 23:13Speaker 2: Well then thought he is coaching for I thought it
- 23:17Speaker 2: was coaching for his job.
- 23:18Speaker 4: Right last year? Yeah, yeah, and they make a run
- 23:21Speaker 4: and made the playoffs. L S should have won that
- 23:22Speaker 4: game in Norman.
- 23:23Speaker 2: Oh my gosh.
- 23:25Speaker 3: Defense had to be perfect that day though, and they
- 23:27Speaker 3: were except like one player.
- 23:28Speaker 2: So MATERI at twenty two is that's pretty? That's that's
- 23:32Speaker 2: not right.
- 23:33Speaker 9: No, he needs to be a little bit higher. I
- 23:34Speaker 9: think Byron Brown needs to be a little bit higher.
- 23:36Speaker 4: Oh well, we got to see what he does with
- 23:38Speaker 4: the big I would switch.
- 23:39Speaker 2: I would switch the tier and sellers. Yeah, I would
- 23:41Speaker 2: switch material and sellers.
- 23:42Speaker 4: I would know.
- 23:43Speaker 9: I wouldn't because sellers shouldn't be twenty two. When are
- 23:46Speaker 9: we gonna move on from this?
- 23:47Speaker 2: Well, twenty two it's pretty high.
- 23:49Speaker 13: I mean that's pretty.
- 23:51Speaker 9: It's been three years. He can't throw the football.
- 23:57Speaker 2: I mean I'm with you, yeah, or stay healthy?
- 24:01Speaker 9: That even even healthy?
- 24:03Speaker 2: Right? So what you think?
- 24:08Speaker 6: Yeah, you can run a QB power worse quarterback in
- 24:11Speaker 6: college football? I mean there's probably worse. I would say
- 24:17Speaker 6: twenty two would probably be okay with him because he's
- 24:19Speaker 6: had hype. Yeah, I would believe that, but I would switch.
- 24:22Speaker 6: I'd throw a tear in at least top fifteen, right.
- 24:26Speaker 2: Yes.
- 24:28Speaker 4: Uh.
- 24:28Speaker 3: They also did the quarterback rooms by conference and l
- 24:32Speaker 3: Sho's quarterback room actually came in at number five and
- 24:38Speaker 3: behind A and M, behind Georgia, behind Texas and behind
- 24:41Speaker 3: old Miss Ole Miss has Trinidad Chambliss and then they
- 24:44Speaker 3: have deuced night between them.
- 24:46Speaker 4: They have fourteen career starts.
- 24:50Speaker 11: Who's who's behind? That's that's kind of high for A
- 24:54Speaker 11: and M. There's a lot of fun.
- 24:55Speaker 4: Brady Hart is freshman.
- 24:57Speaker 3: Yeah, of course somebody else shoes long streets of freshmen
- 25:01Speaker 3: as well, Richard and I to still think.
- 25:05Speaker 2: It would be Clark, Yeah, I mean the whole season.
- 25:08Speaker 4: I think it would be long Street. But that's who
- 25:10Speaker 4: this article has.
- 25:12Speaker 6: So how are we not the best quarterback room? Our
- 25:16Speaker 6: third string is a former five star?
- 25:23Speaker 3: Anybody want to guess which team has the worst quarterback room?
- 25:26Speaker 4: According to the Sporting News? In the SEC?
- 25:29Speaker 9: In the SEC, the SEC Kentucky.
- 25:32Speaker 3: Okay, well, they're about to learn both those concepts that
- 25:37Speaker 3: we talked about earlier.
- 25:38Speaker 12: I can't think I'm trying to think in Florida. Okay,
- 25:41Speaker 12: I don't know who they have right now.
- 25:43Speaker 9: I mean, Florida's is probably pretty low.
- 25:45Speaker 2: Alabama.
- 25:46Speaker 3: Florida comes in at number eleven. Kentucky comes in at
- 25:52Speaker 3: number ten. Alabama comes in at number nine. So I mean,
- 25:54Speaker 3: y'all are all right in the same spot. Y'all are
- 25:57Speaker 3: right there, nine, ten, eleven. It is Arkansas. Arkansas their
- 26:02Speaker 3: starter out there at the same time. kJ Jackson has
- 26:05Speaker 3: one career start. The backup freshman A J. Hill has
- 26:09Speaker 3: no career starts. It's hard to find a team in
- 26:13Speaker 3: today's college football where your quarterback has one start because
- 26:17Speaker 3: the transfer portalet who's it? Alabama? The car But yeah no,
- 26:24Speaker 3: but like he's basing this on starts. He has no starts.
- 26:28Speaker 3: Need Actually, Keel and Russell or Austin Mack neither one
- 26:32Speaker 3: have a start.
- 26:32Speaker 6: Okay, so your point they should be they should be
- 26:35Speaker 6: pretty lower. That's who's lower than that?
- 26:38Speaker 9: Who's lower than zero?
- 26:39Speaker 6: Mattea who's lowder than zero? Worst quarterback room in the country?
- 26:43Speaker 6: Tied for it?
- 26:51Speaker 2: You really.
- 26:54Speaker 6: Really nice card is? Then I hit it on the brake.
- 26:58Speaker 6: Wasn't even I wasn't trying to get it. Yeah, but
- 27:00Speaker 6: I got it.
- 27:01Speaker 4: You You wrote me, Hey, who is this guy?
- 27:03Speaker 2: Fella? Any good? So one to one auto here.
- 27:07Speaker 3: For Missouri, Austin Simmons is going to be their projected starter.
- 27:12Speaker 3: He had two career starts at Old miss Their backup
- 27:15Speaker 3: is going to be Nick Evers, who is a former
- 27:20Speaker 3: Yukon starting quarterback. Tennessee their situation starter and backup zero
- 27:25Speaker 3: career starts, Vanderbilt starter backup, zero career starts Mississippi State.
- 27:34Speaker 3: So Taylor did have two starts at the end of
- 27:36Speaker 3: last year, looked pretty good. Their backup is aj Swan
- 27:41Speaker 3: form LSU quarterback.
- 27:42Speaker 9: I'm shocked they just want Still's eligibility. But the guy
- 27:45Speaker 9: who's been.
- 27:45Speaker 6: Around, when was he at LSU two years ago, two
- 27:49Speaker 6: seasons ago.
- 27:50Speaker 9: He was Nuts's backup in twenty four.
- 27:52Speaker 3: The theme for me though, for the SEC is you
- 27:58Speaker 3: have multiple teams that have some like some quarterbacks that
- 28:02Speaker 3: just have zero experience. Alabama zero, Kentucky zero, Florida zero,
- 28:09Speaker 3: Mississippi State with their starter not a lot, Vanderbilt nothing,
- 28:14Speaker 3: Tennessee nothing, Missouri two starts, Arkansas one start. That's hard
- 28:20Speaker 3: to do in today's college football because most of the
- 28:23Speaker 3: time you're going to go get the South Florida quarterback,
- 28:26Speaker 3: or you're going to get the NC State quarterback, or
- 28:28Speaker 3: you're you're going somewhere to get somebody with experience.
- 28:31Speaker 2: Usually your first starts not in the SEC.
- 28:34Speaker 3: No, and there's a lot and talking about like you know,
- 28:37Speaker 3: the marquee programs. We're not talking about the bottom feeders.
- 28:40Speaker 3: I mean there's some teams that have real aspirations to do.
- 28:42Speaker 2: Something that has been pretty decent.
- 28:44Speaker 3: Okay, all right, it dabbled with success, first time starter,
- 28:50Speaker 3: no matter who starts, no matter which one.
- 28:52Speaker 4: Of them plays. Come on, Land, if I ever hear
- 28:58Speaker 4: you root for their quarterback.
- 29:00Speaker 2: I'm going and I'm gonna root for Elijah.
- 29:02Speaker 12: He did all last season. So sorry, was like Tysonson's
- 29:06Speaker 12: number one fan.
- 29:07Speaker 11: You actually you actually got me on the on the
- 29:09Speaker 11: toss Sampson to Sampson bus a little bit last year.
- 29:12Speaker 13: Man, they did what I mean like wipe him off
- 29:15Speaker 13: your mouth.
- 29:16Speaker 4: Yeah, are y'all what room for the Alabama quarterback?
- 29:19Speaker 2: You loved it?
- 29:20Speaker 6: You really did against are you?
- 29:24Speaker 2: Are you being serious right now?
- 29:25Speaker 12: What I'm not saying anything about Alabama, but you were
- 29:28Speaker 12: like very much on the number one Tyson was. Yeah.
- 29:33Speaker 2: I mean, what if.
- 29:34Speaker 6: There was a point in time during the year where
- 29:36Speaker 6: he was playing as good at least as Fernando Mendoza
- 29:39Speaker 6: first half of the year.
- 29:40Speaker 13: Yeah, I mean, I mean, I'm not arguing against it.
- 29:42Speaker 2: I'm just saying yeah, I was watching that.
- 29:45Speaker 6: That whole offense was because I was watching game film
- 29:47Speaker 6: of everybody, all the teams that LSU was playing and
- 29:49Speaker 6: had played.
- 29:50Speaker 9: And you were like, hey, I feel like ls you
- 29:51Speaker 9: could do that.
- 29:52Speaker 6: And I was watching who we played early on, who
- 29:54Speaker 6: had like early in the season, they were playing a
- 29:57Speaker 6: team and I was watching them play against Alabama.
- 29:59Speaker 2: I was, oh, well, their offense looks.
- 30:02Speaker 6: Really good, but fairness to me, I've been watching l
- 30:05Speaker 6: s U offense as well.
- 30:08Speaker 4: Hell, and then I.
- 30:10Speaker 6: Turned on the Alabama tape and I was like, oh,
- 30:12Speaker 6: this is what a real offense kind of looks like.
- 30:16Speaker 6: I mean, you can't go off that, but yeah, I'm
- 30:18Speaker 6: gonna cheer for Elijah.
- 30:25Speaker 4: And didn't know, well, if you went to Florida, but
- 30:29Speaker 4: if Elijah went to Florida, it's.
- 30:30Speaker 2: Too far, Okay.
- 30:33Speaker 4: I just want to make sure we have boundaries here.
- 30:36Speaker 2: There's always a boundary when Florida.
- 30:38Speaker 3: Well, you and I like, we don't like Alabama, but
- 30:40Speaker 3: they don't affect us as much because you beat them
- 30:42Speaker 3: five times.
- 30:43Speaker 4: I beat them four times.
- 30:44Speaker 6: They weren't our rival, and technically like them, they still
- 30:47Speaker 6: weren't our rival because they beat us.
- 30:50Speaker 4: Every year for a while they had some success.
- 30:52Speaker 2: They had some success, they dabbled in the success.
- 30:56Speaker 4: Yeah, Florida, that's step too far. I guess I can't
- 30:59Speaker 4: do that. Can't do it.
- 31:00Speaker 3: I want to do it so again. And just to
- 31:03Speaker 3: kind of wrap this conversation up, there's gonna be a
- 31:05Speaker 3: lot of experienced quarterback play, not to say it can't
- 31:09Speaker 3: be good. There's gonna be a lot of inexperienced quarterback
- 31:11Speaker 3: play at Tennessee, at Florida, at Kentucky, at Alabama. Like
- 31:16Speaker 3: we are going to see some teams roll a quarterback
- 31:19Speaker 3: out there for the first time in major college football
- 31:21Speaker 3: in the Southeastern Conference.
- 31:23Speaker 4: Bold move Cotton. We'll see how it goes.
- 31:26Speaker 3: If you're LSU, you're feeling pretty grateful that you I
- 31:28Speaker 3: don't have Sam Levitt, but you have Clark who has
- 31:31Speaker 3: played a full season of college football lower level. We'll
- 31:34Speaker 3: see how that translates and see what happens if he
- 31:37Speaker 3: does have to play. But with so much no starts,
- 31:40Speaker 3: one starts, two starts, it's good to have a guy
- 31:43Speaker 3: behind your guy that has a full season as the starter.
- 31:45Speaker 3: All Right, we'll take a great more OTV when we

- 34:33Speaker 3: e a ux, Tommy's with the y dot com. All right,
- 34:41Speaker 3: so we know the Baseball Transfer portal is open. Jade Newt, Trink, Caraway, Maverick, Rizzy,
- 34:49Speaker 3: Daniel Harden some of the names we talked about. I
- 34:51Speaker 3: know we talked about Rizzy, I think the other day.
- 34:54Speaker 3: So no surprises. At least there shouldn't be a surprise,
- 34:59Speaker 3: I don't think from any of the players for LSU
- 35:02Speaker 3: that are in the portal right now. It's not if
- 35:05Speaker 3: y'all have a different feel on this, y'all please interrupt me.
- 35:09Speaker 3: It's not really who you're going to lose from this team.
- 35:13Speaker 3: It's who you're going to gain in the portal that's
- 35:15Speaker 3: going to be the point of emphasis. And I'm not
- 35:17Speaker 3: saying that to try to be cute and funny. It's
- 35:19Speaker 3: just this.
- 35:20Speaker 4: Group of players together didn't work out. It didn't work out.
- 35:23Speaker 4: It just did not. It was not a good group together.
- 35:27Speaker 3: And like I can say those names, Premo goes in
- 35:29Speaker 3: as well, Like those are guys you expected to go
- 35:33Speaker 3: into the transfer portal.
- 35:34Speaker 4: So not a lot of.
- 35:36Speaker 3: Like big news of who's leaving and we're all waiting
- 35:39Speaker 3: on who's coming back, who's coming in. What does it
- 35:42Speaker 3: look like? What did they do a year ago? Is
- 35:45Speaker 3: it going to be a better group together? What's that
- 35:48Speaker 3: chemistry going to be like? Because look we can sit
- 35:51Speaker 3: there and we could talk about the guys they brought in.
- 35:52Speaker 3: It's like, yeah, that makes sense. Oh yeah, that would
- 35:54Speaker 3: make sense. But they got to do it all over again.
- 35:58Speaker 3: It's going to be a brand new team up next
- 36:00Speaker 3: season for Jay Johnson.
- 36:02Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean in this this day and age, right,
- 36:04Speaker 6: we talk about the nil on the transfer portals and
- 36:09Speaker 6: how how the the rosters flipped so much year to year.
- 36:15Speaker 6: Now we had a lot of carryover from last season, certainly,
- 36:19Speaker 6: but you don't really know like you can you can
- 36:21Speaker 6: change an entire roster year to year in college sports,
- 36:25Speaker 6: and that's why it's so hard for like, yeah, especially
- 36:27Speaker 6: big basketball player, you can you can all the around
- 36:30Speaker 6: the world and find a basketball team.
- 36:33Speaker 2: In baseball you can like you got, you have to hit.
- 36:35Speaker 2: That's why it's so hard.
- 36:37Speaker 6: To be an actual bona fide contender year in year
- 36:42Speaker 6: out right now because of the roster change.
- 36:46Speaker 2: Like of course, you're always going to lose a lot
- 36:47Speaker 2: to the draft.
- 36:48Speaker 6: And unless you lost a lot to the draft and
- 36:50Speaker 6: you got to replace those guys, it just missed, right, yeah,
- 36:53Speaker 6: and not saying and it's not like a knock on
- 36:57Speaker 6: this individual person or players on the team, just together collectively,
- 37:02Speaker 6: it didn't work. Whatever reason does it work to some
- 37:07Speaker 6: of those players go on to have good major league
- 37:10Speaker 6: careers hopefully I hope they do it.
- 37:12Speaker 4: Just whatever reason didn't work.
- 37:14Speaker 2: So you know, to your point, of course, there's talented guys.
- 37:16Speaker 6: There's guys that might work at LSU on that team
- 37:20Speaker 6: with different people around them or a different roster.
- 37:23Speaker 2: You just don't know.
- 37:24Speaker 6: But I think it's kind of at the point it's like,
- 37:26Speaker 6: you know, certainly there's guys you don't want to lose,
- 37:30Speaker 6: but if you did lose everybody and replace them like
- 37:34Speaker 6: you could, as long as you hit and you place
- 37:36Speaker 6: them with the right guys, you're gonna be better.
- 37:38Speaker 2: Than you were this year.
- 37:41Speaker 3: A Landra Tate obviously watching baseball like you do. Any
- 37:46Speaker 3: surprises by anybody that's entered the portal from LSU, anything
- 37:50Speaker 3: that you think is going to be a major loss
- 37:51Speaker 3: for LSU.
- 37:52Speaker 13: Not so far.
- 37:53Speaker 12: I don't feel like there's anybody that's been in the
- 37:57Speaker 12: portal that I'm like, oh man, we're gonna miss that,
- 38:01Speaker 12: And I'm not surprised by a lot of it. The
- 38:03Speaker 12: one that I do find a little interesting, though, is
- 38:05Speaker 12: Daniel Harden, the outfielder. He didn't get a lot of
- 38:08Speaker 12: playing time this season, barely any And the reason why
- 38:12Speaker 12: I find that interesting is because you're losing your outfield
- 38:15Speaker 12: presumably like Kuriel's probably gonna go to the draft, Stanny is,
- 38:22Speaker 12: you know, probably also gonna leave, and then Jake Brown
- 38:26Speaker 12: also out, so you have to imagine that like Jay
- 38:29Speaker 12: had these conversations with everybody like hey, I see it
- 38:32Speaker 12: going this way for you. So I do find it
- 38:35Speaker 12: a little If there's one that I find interesting is
- 38:37Speaker 12: that one Daniel Harden, only because you have to assume
- 38:40Speaker 12: that most of your outfield's gonna be gone next season,
- 38:42Speaker 12: so I just wonder, like what that conversation Jay had
- 38:45Speaker 12: with Daniel Harden was like and if Daniel just felt
- 38:48Speaker 12: like he wasn't going to have a spot coming in
- 38:51Speaker 12: or maybe I don't know, like maybe by some miracle.
- 38:55Speaker 12: Curiel is like, you know what, I'm gonna say, one
- 38:58Speaker 12: more season or something. So like that's the only one
- 39:00Speaker 12: that I do find not a loss, not super super
- 39:05Speaker 12: like stand out, but it is a little interesting.
- 39:08Speaker 3: Do you think he probably didn't like the fact that
- 39:10Speaker 3: when Jake Brown went down, they went young Patrick and
- 39:14Speaker 3: not him.
- 39:15Speaker 13: I mean, I guess he's kind of young too, but.
- 39:19Speaker 12: Yeah, Patrick is very, very athletic, Like he had like
- 39:23Speaker 12: the fastest sixty which is like the forty for baseball
- 39:27Speaker 12: in the state, I'm pretty sure last year. So he
- 39:31Speaker 12: he's very athletic. I don't know if that's what made
- 39:33Speaker 12: him feel that way, but I just I do find
- 39:36Speaker 12: that to be interesting. They have a couple outfielders or
- 39:39Speaker 12: one that came to visit from two lane. Jason Waks
- 39:46Speaker 12: played one hundred and seven games, hit three thirty one
- 39:48Speaker 12: with eleven homers and thirty five doubles, so.
- 39:52Speaker 13: Watches it's w ac hs.
- 39:55Speaker 2: That'd be the worst thing. If he's a picture.
- 39:57Speaker 13: Yeah, yeah, literally, he.
- 40:01Speaker 3: We used to talk about l SU safety. That's true, Yeah,
- 40:06Speaker 3: not what you know, actually playing really well. By the
- 40:11Speaker 3: way in the UFL.
- 40:14Speaker 4: Is.
- 40:15Speaker 11: I wish Harden would have got a little bit more
- 40:17Speaker 11: run because, like Jake you mentioned like it and William Patrick.
- 40:21Speaker 11: Remember when Stanfield was out Tanna Reeves a lot. Yeah,
- 40:25Speaker 11: I mean they did throw Tanner Reeves out there left field.
- 40:27Speaker 11: I mean Harden got some run a little bit early
- 40:30Speaker 11: on when Stanfield first went out, did some nice things
- 40:33Speaker 11: mostly in the midweek. But I mean you get home, yeah, yeah,
- 40:37Speaker 11: the first started right, Yeah, but yeah, I mean you
- 40:40Speaker 11: go Tanner Reeves when when Stanfield's down, you go young,
- 40:44Speaker 11: you go William Patrick unfortunately. Yeah, I mean it kind
- 40:47Speaker 11: of it kind of does make sense, especially if you're
- 40:50Speaker 11: bringing in some of these younger guys and you know
- 40:52Speaker 11: Jay's going to hit the portal.
- 40:53Speaker 9: But none of these names surprised me.
- 40:55Speaker 11: Like DJ Primo, you waited a couple of years, wanted
- 40:58Speaker 11: to see something on the weekend. Didn't a whole lot
- 41:00Speaker 11: of run there. Jayden Newt was more of a midweek
- 41:03Speaker 11: arm for you than it was.
- 41:04Speaker 4: Bigger for you on the National Championship this year.
- 41:07Speaker 11: I mean last year, he couldn't give you anything last year, right,
- 41:11Speaker 11: They basically decided last year that Trink Carroway.
- 41:13Speaker 13: Was unplayable, which is so insane.
- 41:16Speaker 9: I know, I mean, he was the one guy.
- 41:18Speaker 12: It's not surprising, but it is upsetting that Trent Carraway
- 41:21Speaker 12: didn't pan out, and I like, I feel like we
- 41:23Speaker 12: didn't give him enough of a chance.
- 41:26Speaker 11: Sorry, I mean he he pulled him quick, went to
- 41:29Speaker 11: Pearson and then again like he threw Tanner Reeves in
- 41:32Speaker 11: there when he when he went to him, he would go,
- 41:34Speaker 11: he would go rocker, he would go these younger guys
- 41:36Speaker 11: like once he pulled Caraway, like, I feel like you
- 41:39Speaker 11: didn't go back in at all.
- 41:40Speaker 13: Because like he had something against him.
- 41:42Speaker 12: It was crazy to me, Like you're telling me the
- 41:45Speaker 12: guy that was the Gatorade Player of the Year in
- 41:47Speaker 12: high school, the MVP of the Corvallis Super Regional suddenly
- 41:51Speaker 12: forgot how to play baseball.
- 41:52Speaker 9: And that's a good program.
- 41:54Speaker 13: Oregon State is historically good at baseball.
- 41:56Speaker 11: It's not like you're like, oh, we went after a
- 41:58Speaker 11: guy like Zach Yorke. He couldn't make the jump from
- 42:00Speaker 11: Grand Kin into the SEC like Curway played big time baseball.
- 42:03Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure, that was a little bit surprised. I
- 42:07Speaker 3: mean something that I agree, like roll him out there
- 42:10Speaker 3: a little bit moregan.
- 42:10Speaker 13: More opportunity, let him get hot in the lineup, and
- 42:14Speaker 13: you just didn't.
- 42:15Speaker 6: I'm just I'm just not real too too worried about it.
- 42:19Speaker 6: Jay Johnson's reached the status of like when when Sabing
- 42:22Speaker 6: was talking about how easily like we're recruiting because he
- 42:25Speaker 6: to a meetiate just wears rings and like that's the
- 42:28Speaker 6: best recruiting to like last year, like he could have
- 42:31Speaker 6: gotten the people that they chose that, like he admitted
- 42:33Speaker 6: they just missed whatever. Like you could be cooking in
- 42:36Speaker 6: the kitchen and have the best ingredients in the world,
- 42:38Speaker 6: but when they come up all to come together, like
- 42:40Speaker 6: it doesn't make a good final dish, Like they just
- 42:42Speaker 6: missed on building the entire team. And I don't think
- 42:46Speaker 6: he's gonna make that mistake. And he's got the rings
- 42:50Speaker 6: to sit there and tap on the desk while he's
- 42:53Speaker 6: talking to recruits.
- 42:54Speaker 4: And it's gonna be an odd year.
- 42:55Speaker 13: Yeah, so we're good. I'm not even worried about it.
- 42:58Speaker 2: You know.
- 42:58Speaker 3: All right, we'll take a break more O t B
- 43:00Speaker 3: when we come back here live from the Raisin Game Studio.
- 43:04Speaker 1: Off the Bench two thousand and seven, Champs Purple and

- 43:20Speaker 1: Louisiana sports.
- 43:21Speaker 9: Question it up, take it light, tolam, summer night. I
- 43:30Speaker 9: don't care, Stan on the wheel.
- 43:31Speaker 10: Driving drunk, coming doing my thing in the mid.
- 43:34Speaker 11: Be siding out, living my life and getting out dreams.
- 43:38Speaker 9: People told me, slow.
- 43:39Speaker 4: My little I'm streaming out.
- 43:41Speaker 2: I'm a dude.
- 43:43Speaker 4: I want I didn't know how it was gonna have.
- 43:47Speaker 13: What a weird edit?
- 43:48Speaker 4: It weird.
- 43:49Speaker 9: I'm screaming out. Let me cock this weapon, no.
- 43:52Speaker 1: One live bullet.
- 43:55Speaker 13: I don't like that. I think just blanket. You know
- 43:58Speaker 13: you don't have to add the sound effect.
- 44:00Speaker 4: Yeah? Sorry, Now, got today's playlist really good.
- 44:10Speaker 2: They had a short segment right now.
- 44:11Speaker 4: It's okay.
- 44:12Speaker 9: It never happens at the last segment of the hour.
- 44:17Speaker 13: Luke's gonna hop on the board next hour.
- 44:19Speaker 3: Oh, let's go, No big deal, I'll screw it up
- 44:25Speaker 3: that I am you got Luke on the ones and twos.
- 44:28Speaker 2: Hey does your dad ever say? I am your father?
- 44:33Speaker 1: Luke? Yeah?
- 44:34Speaker 2: There you go.
- 44:35Speaker 4: You're so star Wars right.
- 44:37Speaker 13: Now, you're on a Star Wars kick right here.
- 44:42Speaker 2: I am.
- 44:43Speaker 4: It's like all he thinks about.
- 44:46Speaker 6: No, no, not really, like maybe the third time I
- 44:49Speaker 6: brought it up.
- 44:50Speaker 13: Give us a chewbaccanois stay in this segment.
- 44:56Speaker 2: Both of us come Okay, all right, Taylor, you're up.
- 44:59Speaker 13: I can't do it.
- 45:03Speaker 2: Not great.
- 45:04Speaker 13: I don't even know. I don't even know how, y'all.
- 45:07Speaker 13: It's like, literally just I can't do it.
- 45:16Speaker 9: Kind of sounds like a smoker.
- 45:20Speaker 13: That's how Dixon was up there.
- 45:23Speaker 4: Okay, dude, it's not even an r there is. It's
- 45:27Speaker 4: just this long.
- 45:30Speaker 10: Uh.
- 45:30Speaker 4: We'll be back number three about TV.
- 45:33Speaker 1: Off the Bench.
- 45:35Speaker 4: All right. As we've told you over.
- 45:36Speaker 3: The last couple of weeks, I mean, and y'all know this,
- 45:38Speaker 3: there's not many gators that we're gonna talk good about
- 45:42Speaker 3: because well they're the gators. But the one that we
- 45:44Speaker 3: are going to talk great about because they are the
- 45:46Speaker 3: best jin gators. We love the story of the family
- 45:50Speaker 3: as well. So that's gonna say you about all the

- 45:55Speaker 3: the ground up, Like this is a family that was
- 45:58Speaker 3: actually helping others during a storm and that's how the
