- 0:00Speaker 1: But I am your host, Gene Stothard. But Derek Odin
- 0:03Speaker 1: is with us today. Derek Odin is the owner of
- 0:07Speaker 1: fly Over Strategies and he is a political advisor his company.
- 0:11Speaker 1: I think I would consider you guys a consulting agency.
- 0:14Speaker 1: But you are all seasoned political strategist and you are
- 0:18Speaker 1: known for helping candidates navigate through complex political landscapes, which
- 0:23Speaker 1: is what we're talking about today. So Derek, welcome to
- 0:25Speaker 1: the show.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Yes, maris lovely being here with you today.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Why, thank you. Okay, here we go again. This is strange,
- 0:31Speaker 1: but apparently the first part didn't come through here this morning,
- 0:34Speaker 1: so we're going swing in here by the seat of
- 0:37Speaker 1: our pants. But anyway, this weekend, Derek is working on
- 0:41Speaker 1: Brinker Harding, who is running for congressional district too. His
- 0:44Speaker 1: opponent is Denise Powell, and this weekend speaker Mike Johnson
- 0:50Speaker 1: came into town. There were two events on Saturday morning.
- 0:53Speaker 1: I was there, so I witnessed all of this, and
- 0:57Speaker 1: then Denise came out with a video. I guess we
- 1:01Speaker 1: would say she taped in her car right Derek, yesterday
- 1:04Speaker 1: evening and she went through a litany of I mean,
- 1:08Speaker 1: she just was just slamming the speaker and Brinker herding,
- 1:12Speaker 1: and we're going to go through those, but just talk
- 1:14Speaker 1: a little bit about Brinker's race right now, Derek.
- 1:17Speaker 3: Yeah, So, and real briefly just on the video. I mean,
- 1:19Speaker 3: I think you you watched the video, and it seems
- 1:21Speaker 3: like every chance she gets, she's always against something, she's
- 1:24Speaker 3: never really talking about what she's for. You go back
- 1:26Speaker 3: to the primary. Her whole stick was I'm a pissed
- 1:28Speaker 3: off mom, and she she got five million dollars plus
- 1:31Speaker 3: of dark money. That's where actually the Kavanaugh has rightly
- 1:34Speaker 3: called her, dubbed her dark money.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Denise.
- 1:36Speaker 3: She she had all of this out of state money,
- 1:38Speaker 3: all this left wing money that came in and essentially
- 1:41Speaker 3: stole the primary election. Like like we've talked about before,
- 1:43Speaker 3: Mayor is you know John, you know, made disagree. We
- 1:47Speaker 3: may have disagreements, but John's a guy you can sit
- 1:49Speaker 3: down and have a beer with. John's you know, he
- 1:51Speaker 3: is a public servant and he's still someone that you
- 1:53Speaker 3: can rationalize with and talk with. Denise, on the other hand,
- 1:56Speaker 3: you know, I'm not quite sure what she stands for
- 1:59Speaker 3: other than you know, a on demand TDS which is
- 2:02Speaker 3: alive and well in her campaign and the blue Dot,
- 2:04Speaker 3: as you and Chris Baker have appropriately dubbed adoptee, it's.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Like, that's all she's obsessed with.
- 2:09Speaker 3: What are you actually going to do to make life
- 2:12Speaker 3: more affordable? The whole Washington DC accountable?
- 2:15Speaker 1: We have yet to see that absolutely, And you know,
- 2:18Speaker 1: the thing of it is is when I listened to her,
- 2:22Speaker 1: she just as you said, she just keeps on repeating
- 2:25Speaker 1: the Democrat agenda. And to me, like you said, it's TDS,
- 2:29Speaker 1: it's abortion on demand, it's the blue dot. I will say,
- 2:32Speaker 1: you know what I hear from the Democrats, It's basically
- 2:35Speaker 1: three things. Get rid of Trump, get rid of Ice,
- 2:37Speaker 1: get rid of the police department. And that's all. I
- 2:40Speaker 1: hear that over and over and over. But to your point,
- 2:44Speaker 1: what's she going to do for us? And my big
- 2:46Speaker 1: question is what is she going to represent me? Because
- 2:49Speaker 1: if her big thing is to get rid of Trump
- 2:52Speaker 1: and the blue dot, which we've talked about before, which
- 2:55Speaker 1: used to mean just the majority of voters or Democrats,
- 2:58Speaker 1: and now it's a whole agenda of what the blue
- 3:01Speaker 1: dot means is it's a religion. You're you are right
- 3:03Speaker 1: right now? What is she going to do for the
- 3:05Speaker 1: Republicans in congressional district to what's she going to do
- 3:09Speaker 1: for the independence because she just continues to talk about
- 3:13Speaker 1: this one or three or four things over and over
- 3:17Speaker 1: and over and criticizing. And when I looked at when
- 3:19Speaker 1: she had, I guess you call him secretary Pete. I
- 3:22Speaker 1: still call him mayor Pete Buddhajig here. You know, he
- 3:26Speaker 1: immediately and she immediately criticized Johnson, criticized Trump and criticized
- 3:31Speaker 1: herting and you know, he he criticized Hearting for bringing
- 3:36Speaker 1: the speaker here and the speaker hadn't even been here,
- 3:39Speaker 1: so and he of course really criticized the big beautiful
- 3:42Speaker 1: bill too. So I mean that's what they did. They
- 3:45Speaker 1: spent their time doing that. And to that point with Budajeg,
- 3:48Speaker 1: I want to talk about that. Tom Beckett was on
- 3:50Speaker 1: this show about a week ago, a little less than
- 3:52Speaker 1: a week ago, and he said he went to the
- 3:54Speaker 1: Buddhajag thing and he said, I was packed. The room
- 3:57Speaker 1: was packed. People were waiting in lines down this to
- 4:00Speaker 1: get in. And he just felt that that meant so
- 4:03Speaker 1: much support for Denise. And I brought up my race
- 4:06Speaker 1: in twenty seventeen against Heath Mellow, and you know, I
- 4:09Speaker 1: like Heith Mellow. He's a good friend. He's a very
- 4:11Speaker 1: good friend. Right now, he brought Bernie Sanders to Omaha.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Right they filled up the Baxter Arena. There were people
- 4:18Speaker 1: waiting in line down the street to get in the
- 4:20Speaker 1: Baxter Arena. And my campaign was like, uh, oh, we're sunk,
- 4:24Speaker 1: but actually not at all. Backfired on him and a
- 4:28Speaker 1: lot of those people that were waiting in line and
- 4:31Speaker 1: that were filling up the Baxter Arena, they weren't even
- 4:33Speaker 1: Omaha voters. They just came to see Bernie. And you know,
- 4:37Speaker 1: who knows why all. Maybe these people came to see
- 4:39Speaker 1: Pete May Buddha Jeg, maybe they came to see Denise,
- 4:43Speaker 1: But that doesn't mean they're voting for.
- 4:44Speaker 3: Them, right and exactly right, And I think piggybacking on
- 4:47Speaker 3: that you're talking about the you know, the blue dot
- 4:49Speaker 3: and what she's obsessed over. I'm you know, they believe
- 4:51Speaker 3: it or not. There are Republicans that leave east of
- 4:52Speaker 3: seventy second on. One of them live in Midtown. He
- 4:54Speaker 3: loved the streetcar, by the way, So last week and
- 4:56Speaker 3: you guys were talking about the street naming and maybe
- 4:58Speaker 3: the Stouthard street car.
- 4:59Speaker 2: I actually love that name.
- 5:01Speaker 3: But if you're only going to essentially focus on you know,
- 5:04Speaker 3: this weird geometric shape and everything that comes with it,
- 5:07Speaker 3: and that is your new religion, you know, and you
- 5:09Speaker 3: contrast that with Brinker harding. Brinker has said, just just
- 5:12Speaker 3: as he did in front of the speaker, he said
- 5:13Speaker 3: it on election night, he even said it in the primary.
- 5:15Speaker 3: I'm running just as he has on the city council.
- 5:17Speaker 3: He's vice president, which means a Democrat had to vote
- 5:20Speaker 3: for him.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Right, he's running.
- 5:21Speaker 3: You know, his message a message that works representing Republicans, Democrats, independents.
- 5:26Speaker 3: Brinker then talks about, you know, is kind of core
- 5:28Speaker 3: two pillars. He wants to make life more affordable, grow
- 5:30Speaker 3: the economy, and make Washington d C. More accountable. And
- 5:34Speaker 3: then people will get some liberal trolls online sometimes to say, well,
- 5:37Speaker 3: well what does that mean is you know he's not specific? Well, actually,
- 5:40Speaker 3: we have two op eds one from last November, one
- 5:42Speaker 3: from January and the World Herald that are very detailed.
- 5:44Speaker 3: What has Denise Powell ever put out there that actually
- 5:47Speaker 3: talks about what she is going to do with represented
- 5:49Speaker 3: I think if she's if she's elected God forbid, which
- 5:52Speaker 3: we're doing everything we can't make sure that never happens.
- 5:55Speaker 2: You know, she need's answer.
- 5:56Speaker 3: Is she going to be, you know, a member of
- 5:57Speaker 3: the dssay as Gary and Jim. We're talking about this morning,
- 6:00Speaker 3: the rise of the DSA. You know, she personally donated
- 6:03Speaker 3: to AOC. So is she going to announce the Democrat
- 6:07Speaker 3: Socialists of America? And what I will say to any
- 6:09Speaker 3: of our you know friends listening, every single Democrat on
- 6:13Speaker 3: the ballot, we'll have to answer for every single thing
- 6:15Speaker 3: that Denise Palace stands for.
- 6:16Speaker 2: If they support or if.
- 6:18Speaker 3: They endorse or they endorsed by, they are going to
- 6:20Speaker 3: be tied to Denise Powell.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Who really we call Kara Eastman two point zero.
- 6:25Speaker 1: You know I agree, And you know I said earlier
- 6:27Speaker 1: when our show wasn't coming across the airways very well,
- 6:30Speaker 1: I said, you know, being mayor for twelve years, being
- 6:33Speaker 1: on the city council for four years before that, I
- 6:36Speaker 1: was always out in the community. I attended events, I
- 6:39Speaker 1: was out working with nonprofits a lot. I never had
- 6:43Speaker 1: heard of her, and if you listen to her commercials
- 6:46Speaker 1: in the primary, she has been the leader. She was
- 6:49Speaker 1: the leader in Omaha over the past I don't know
- 6:52Speaker 1: how many years. I mean, she just made it sound
- 6:54Speaker 1: like she was run in Omaha. I've never heard of her.
- 6:57Speaker 1: A lot of people have said I've never heard of
- 6:59Speaker 1: her before either. And you know, one thing, I'm trying
- 7:02Speaker 1: to stay off of social media because I don't think
- 7:04Speaker 1: it's good for my mental health here. But anyway, I
- 7:07Speaker 1: was looking at some of the comments about about the
- 7:12Speaker 1: speaker coming and about brinker Herding, and they were in
- 7:15Speaker 1: for our TV stations, some of the comments in the
- 7:18Speaker 1: World Herald comments, and there was a whole bunch of
- 7:20Speaker 1: people that are now on this kick of saying, who's
- 7:24Speaker 1: brinker Herding? Who is brinker Harding. I've never heard of
- 7:27Speaker 1: brinker Herding. And you know what I want to say
- 7:29Speaker 1: to you people, if you're listening here today and you're
- 7:32Speaker 1: saying who's brinker Herding, if you live in Omaha, shame
- 7:35Speaker 1: on you. Because Brinker Harding has been a member of
- 7:39Speaker 1: the Omaha City Council since twenty seventeen. He is one
- 7:43Speaker 1: of the votes that is deciding how high your property
- 7:46Speaker 1: taxes are. He's deciding the city budget, he's deciding issues
- 7:50Speaker 1: on economic development. That's who he you should know who
- 7:55Speaker 1: your council members are who are making these decisions. And
- 7:58Speaker 1: if you're all over social media talking about politics but
- 8:02Speaker 1: you don't even know who's on the city council, I'd
- 8:05Speaker 1: say shame on you.
- 8:06Speaker 3: Right, And building on your point is prior to even
- 8:09Speaker 3: his tenure on city council, I believe he's on the
- 8:11Speaker 3: Charter committee for you. I'm back to twenty thirteen and
- 8:14Speaker 3: prior to that was chief of staff and economic development
- 8:17Speaker 3: director to the former Marajal Doab at the time. So
- 8:19Speaker 3: I mean he's had a lifetime of public service in
- 8:21Speaker 3: this community. In contrast that with Denise foul she wants
- 8:24Speaker 3: she's literally on record saying we're going to defund ice,
- 8:26Speaker 3: We're going to defund law enforcement. You and Brinker and
- 8:30Speaker 3: Amy and others, you guys transformed I believe in twenty thirteen,
- 8:33Speaker 3: when you actually took over, there was a zip code
- 8:35Speaker 3: in East Omaha that had, per capita, one of the
- 8:37Speaker 3: most vi I think it was the highest violent crime
- 8:39Speaker 3: in the nation. And you guys totally transformed that forty
- 8:42Speaker 3: year record low crime. And that's because yourself and Brinker
- 8:46Speaker 3: have been in the community. You have been on the
- 8:48Speaker 3: ground for twenty thirty years. What's Denise. I mean, she
- 8:51Speaker 3: spent more time in Miami, New York, and California that
- 8:53Speaker 3: she even has in Omha. Again, it's Kara Eastpin essentially
- 8:57Speaker 3: two point zero. Kara came from Chicago, Tony Vargas came
- 8:59Speaker 3: from New York. It seems that every few years the
- 9:03Speaker 3: Democrats essentially transplant someone, put them in a nonprofit for
- 9:06Speaker 3: five to ten years, then run for Congress.
- 9:08Speaker 2: That doesn't work.
- 9:09Speaker 3: Omaha's growing, but it's still a small community and people
- 9:13Speaker 3: want to know who you are and where you've come
- 9:14Speaker 3: from and what you've.
- 9:15Speaker 1: Done that is right. And you know, I've said this
- 9:17Speaker 1: many times and Brinker agreed with me. When I was mayor,
- 9:20Speaker 1: he was on the city council number one, he was
- 9:21Speaker 1: a colleague. It wasn't like I was a mayor and
- 9:24Speaker 1: he was a councilman. I mean, we worked together all
- 9:27Speaker 1: the time. But I always said, I'm a law and
- 9:29Speaker 1: order mayor and Brinker is the same way. And you
- 9:32Speaker 1: cannot have a safe city without law and order and
- 9:36Speaker 1: without law enforcement. You cannot. And you know, Mayor, I
- 9:39Speaker 1: got to bring up Mayor Ewing in this my number
- 9:42Speaker 1: one priority. The entire time I was mayor, number one
- 9:46Speaker 1: was public safety. That should be every mayor and every
- 9:49Speaker 1: elected officials number one priority, public safety. Do you know
- 9:54Speaker 1: public safety isn't even a priority of Mayor Ewings. His
- 9:57Speaker 1: first priority is affordable housing. I mean, it's not even
- 10:01Speaker 1: a priority. Now. Why is that? It could and nobody's
- 10:04Speaker 1: saying anything about it. Why is it? And it's a
- 10:06Speaker 1: lot of it is because we are such a safe city.
- 10:09Speaker 1: People don't see it as a problem. But that could
- 10:11Speaker 1: turn overnight. You know, you try to defund and disassemble
- 10:15Speaker 1: a police department, absolutely things can change. Let's go to
- 10:19Speaker 1: this video though, and dark Goden is with me with
- 10:23Speaker 1: flyover strategies and they are working as consultants on Brinker
- 10:26Speaker 1: Harding's campaign. But Speaker Johnson was here this weekend. I
- 10:30Speaker 1: was there myself. Denise Powell, you were not there. I
- 10:35Speaker 1: know you are not there. And she came out with
- 10:38Speaker 1: a video that I want to go through some of
- 10:40Speaker 1: the things she said with you, Derek, because this is
- 10:43Speaker 1: just what we are dealing with now. And frankly, she
- 10:47Speaker 1: was lying in her video. Do you know you know
- 10:51Speaker 1: years and years ago that Bob Carey Senator Bob Carey, Democrat,
- 10:56Speaker 1: from Nebraska said that Bill Clinton was a particularly good liar.
- 11:02Speaker 1: I mean, his actual quote was Clinton was an unusually
- 11:05Speaker 1: good liar, unusually good. Do you realize that Bob Carey
- 11:09Speaker 1: said that about Bill Clinton. I'm saying that about Denise
- 11:12Speaker 1: Powell and what she said in this video because let
- 11:15Speaker 1: me tell you, to me, it sounds like when the
- 11:17Speaker 1: truth hurts lie. So let's start out with the first
- 11:20Speaker 1: thing she says is speaker Mike Johnson was here and
- 11:24Speaker 1: there was about five people there. Now, okay, Denise, you
- 11:27Speaker 1: were not there. I was there, and that's a lie
- 11:30Speaker 1: to start out with with your video. There was you
- 11:33Speaker 1: know the room that I was in. There was two events.
- 11:36Speaker 1: The room I was in was full of people. The
- 11:38Speaker 1: the second event at Wheatfield's it was packed to capacity. Yeah,
- 11:44Speaker 1: so you know that's that's a lie, Denise. That does
- 11:47Speaker 1: not that it was not true. And her comments were
- 11:50Speaker 1: very snarky, and I hope she's listening. The second thing
- 11:53Speaker 1: she said is that that they said Brinker and Speaker
- 11:56Speaker 1: Johnson said this race is about common sense and crazy,
- 12:01Speaker 1: and she said, I'm the common sense. I think not.
- 12:03Speaker 3: Well, I mean, if we can touch on that real quick,
- 12:05Speaker 3: what's common sense, let's talk about what she actually stands for.
- 12:07Speaker 3: Which it's interesting because if you're following, if anyone follows Twitter,
- 12:12Speaker 3: some of the banter back and forth, even Jane Clubs
- 12:14Speaker 3: chiming in, well, why are you guys obsessed with with
- 12:17Speaker 3: with with her record and well, one of the specific
- 12:19Speaker 3: issues is, for instance, she actually supports transsurgeries for minors.
- 12:23Speaker 3: She believes men should play in girls' sports. Yep, she
- 12:25Speaker 3: took ten thousand dollars from a foreign billionaire. She's on
- 12:29Speaker 3: she was on the board. She was treasurer for an
- 12:31Speaker 3: organization that believed in pushing radical sex education, not on
- 12:36Speaker 3: ninth graders, on kindergarten gardeners, insane. She donated to AOC
- 12:41Speaker 3: she's you know, for defunding law enforcement. And then she's
- 12:44Speaker 3: obsessed with this whole thing called fairy smut. Yes, but
- 12:47Speaker 3: what's interesting is Jane Clubs says, what are you talking
- 12:49Speaker 3: about this this issue with kindergarteners. I think, like we
- 12:52Speaker 3: saw with Graham Plattner, like we're seeing with Dan Osborne
- 12:55Speaker 3: and now Denise Powell, the Democrats are running these socialist
- 12:57Speaker 3: candidates like Denise Powell, and they are actually vetting them,
- 13:01Speaker 3: and I think the Democrats actually didn't do their job
- 13:04Speaker 3: in vetting Denise Powell before she even took office, or
- 13:07Speaker 3: rather before she even got the nomination.
- 13:09Speaker 1: And may and you are so right, because I mean,
- 13:12Speaker 1: it seems like the Democrats have taken such a left
- 13:16Speaker 1: turn that you are getting pretty good Democrats that are
- 13:20Speaker 1: incumbents now getting beat by these communists in socialists. I mean,
- 13:25Speaker 1: this is what's happening. But let me go to the
- 13:28Speaker 1: next thing she said. She said, so Brinker and Mike.
- 13:31Speaker 1: She kept on calling him Brinker and Mike to show
- 13:34Speaker 1: the speaker disrespect. But anyway, Brinker and Mike. So I'll
- 13:37Speaker 1: say the same thing. She said, think it's crazy that
- 13:40Speaker 1: you that when you go to the doctor. Let's see, now,
- 13:45Speaker 1: how did she say it, that you should go to
- 13:48Speaker 1: the doctor without going bankrupt. And she said she thinks
- 13:52Speaker 1: that that's crazy that you should be able to go
- 13:55Speaker 1: to the doctor without going bankrupt. That's a lie, I mean,
- 13:59Speaker 1: for heaven, and it's a lot easier now to go
- 14:01Speaker 1: to the doctor than with Obamacare, that's correct.
- 14:04Speaker 3: And even on that, I mean, she wants Medicare for all,
- 14:07Speaker 3: which would essentially bankrupt medicare our country. And you talk
- 14:11Speaker 3: about destroying healthcare, that would do it, mayor you were
- 14:13Speaker 3: obviously in healthcare for a number of years.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Yes, and you know what she's saying, it's just simably
- 14:16Speaker 2: not true.
- 14:17Speaker 1: And she also said Brinker and Mike think it's crazy
- 14:21Speaker 1: if your doctor gives you a prescription and you have
- 14:24Speaker 1: to choose about getting the prescription or your growthries or
- 14:28Speaker 1: pay your electric bill.
- 14:30Speaker 2: Come on, so and on that she's actually not a candidate.
- 14:33Speaker 3: She's actually not come out with a plan to address
- 14:35Speaker 3: prescription drug prices. President Trump has and Brinker actually in
- 14:38Speaker 3: his op ed put forth, I mean, obviously he supports
- 14:41Speaker 3: the Favored Nation policy, but that's a concrete policy that
- 14:44Speaker 3: actually can lower prescription drug prices. Denise, where have you
- 14:47Speaker 3: actually ever taken a stance on any of this?
- 14:49Speaker 2: Right?
- 14:49Speaker 1: We have no idea and Trump our ex right right
- 14:53Speaker 1: now you can get a lot of drugs for a
- 14:55Speaker 1: lot less money. Derek Odin with Flyover Strategies is with
- 14:58Speaker 1: me today. Next thing she said is she said they
- 15:02Speaker 1: think it's crazy for an Oh, it's okay for every
- 15:06Speaker 1: kid to go to any public school and be safe
- 15:10Speaker 1: and get a good education. Kids can't go to any
- 15:15Speaker 1: public school right now and get a good education and
- 15:18Speaker 1: be safe. That's just the way it is. Denise. You can't.
- 15:21Speaker 1: I mean, so that thing is crazy. She said, Brinker
- 15:25Speaker 1: and Mike think that it's crazy to end Citizens United
- 15:29Speaker 1: and van stock trading. What did Nancy Pelosi do? For
- 15:33Speaker 1: heaven's sakes?
- 15:34Speaker 3: And honestly, if you go back to this was actually
- 15:36Speaker 3: a criticism that the Kavanaugh has had in the primary.
- 15:38Speaker 3: There was literally what they call a red box on
- 15:40Speaker 3: Denise's website that told all of these outside groups and
- 15:43Speaker 3: all of these packs what to do. They can't quote
- 15:46Speaker 3: unquote directly coordinate, but she literally told them on her website,
- 15:49Speaker 3: here's what I want you to do. And they had
- 15:52Speaker 3: five million dollars of dark money. So she says she
- 15:54Speaker 3: wants to end Citizens United and she's been the biggest
- 15:56Speaker 3: benefactor of Citizens United. And then on the Congress stock
- 16:00Speaker 3: trading again, yes, to your point of look at what
- 16:03Speaker 3: Nancy Pelosi has done. Brinker Harding for over a year
- 16:05Speaker 3: has said he wants to ban congressional stock trading today.
- 16:08Speaker 3: What would you do if you were actually elected to Congress?
- 16:10Speaker 3: Would you sell your stocks and would you put them
- 16:12Speaker 3: into a mutual fund or an ETF like everyone else?
- 16:14Speaker 1: She was just I mean, it was just lie after lie.
- 16:17Speaker 1: The other thing she said is Brinker and Mike Johnson,
- 16:21Speaker 1: this is a speaker think it's crazy for veterans who
- 16:23Speaker 1: have put their lives on the line to fight for
- 16:27Speaker 1: us that they can't get healthcare when they come home,
- 16:29Speaker 1: food or housing. What I mean that that that is
- 16:34Speaker 1: totally just made up. And then she went on to say,
- 16:36Speaker 1: Brinker and Mike think that seniors. It's crazy for seniors
- 16:40Speaker 1: to retire with dignity. I mean with the with a
- 16:45Speaker 1: big beautiful bill, they took taxes off Social Security and
- 16:48Speaker 1: he improved their retirement.
- 16:50Speaker 3: Well, and Denise Powell is okay with uh, you know,
- 16:53Speaker 3: illegal immigrants collecting security and medicare. So if you actually
- 16:56Speaker 3: want to protect and preserve these critical programs like Shill
- 16:59Speaker 3: security medicare, you vote for Brinker Harding because he's the
- 17:01Speaker 3: only one that's actually come out and definitively said that
- 17:04Speaker 3: he would not allow you know, able bodied working adults
- 17:08Speaker 3: and illegal immigrants. This was the battle a year ago
- 17:10Speaker 3: at DOGE and Denise was against that. How are you
- 17:12Speaker 3: against taking you know, why are illegal immigrants and those
- 17:16Speaker 3: that are able body a thirty year old someone like myself.
- 17:18Speaker 3: Why would I be able to get soci security in medicare?
- 17:20Speaker 3: Why should I get government benefits when I can work?
- 17:23Speaker 3: I think that's a problem. And that's what she supports absolutely.
- 17:26Speaker 1: And you know, I mean I have asked Denise pal
- 17:28Speaker 1: By an email to her campaign. It's been about six
- 17:31Speaker 1: weeks now if she will come on this show. I
- 17:34Speaker 1: would like her to be able to be in public
- 17:36Speaker 1: and answer these questions. But crickets, nothing has happened. The
- 17:40Speaker 1: other thing she went on when talking about seniors is
- 17:42Speaker 1: she said, so now seniors have to stock shelves at
- 17:46Speaker 1: home depot to afford their meds and housing. For Pete's sake.
- 17:53Speaker 1: Number one, there's nothing wrong with stocking shells at home depot.
- 17:55Speaker 1: I mean, there's a lot of there's a lot of
- 17:57Speaker 1: retirees that like doing stuff like that for or you know,
- 18:00Speaker 1: to something to do and to enjoy it. But to
- 18:03Speaker 1: say that they have to do that to afford their
- 18:05Speaker 1: meds or their housing. Again, Trump RX has done a
- 18:09Speaker 1: lot to save money on meds. But what are you
- 18:14Speaker 1: gonna do, Denise? And she said, if you think all
- 18:17Speaker 1: of those things are crazy, like Brinker Harding and Mike Johnson,
- 18:21Speaker 1: then she will wear that with her badge of honor.
- 18:24Speaker 1: And she said I will support all of you really
- 18:28Speaker 1: well exactly.
- 18:29Speaker 3: And everything that she said, like you said, Mare, was
- 18:31Speaker 3: actually just factually interaccurate. You go back to what actually
- 18:34Speaker 3: is crazy. She's trying to divert like any good liar
- 18:36Speaker 3: is doing. Again, what can't be overstated is this is somebody.
- 18:41Speaker 3: This is somebody that supports transgender surgeries for miners, for children,
- 18:47Speaker 3: believes that men should be allowed to play in girls' sports,
- 18:50Speaker 3: took ten thousand dollars from a foreign billionaire and was
- 18:53Speaker 3: on the board for an organization. The treasure for an
- 18:57Speaker 3: organization that wanted to push and radically transform is what
- 19:00Speaker 3: they call it k through twelve, which means they want
- 19:02Speaker 3: sex education for kindergartners. And then the top it all off. Obviously,
- 19:06Speaker 3: she donated to AOC, which you know, you know, Kavanaugh's
- 19:10Speaker 3: I think called her Dark Money Denise. I think we
- 19:12Speaker 3: might be calling her dsa Denise at this point, with
- 19:15Speaker 3: these new revelations and her ties to AOC, unbelievable.
- 19:18Speaker 1: Can you we have to take a break, Peyton, he's
- 19:21Speaker 1: given a stinky over there. He always does, look at him.
- 19:24Speaker 1: But we're gonna take a break. Can you come back
- 19:26Speaker 1: from the next segment, because there's a couple other things
- 19:28Speaker 1: I wanted to ask you about. Derek Oden is with
- 19:30Speaker 1: us with Flyover Strategies. They are consultants for brinker Harding's race. Again,
- 19:34Speaker 1: I have asked Denise pal if she would come on
- 19:37Speaker 1: this show. I know Chris Baker has asked if she'll
- 19:40Speaker 1: come on his show, and we hear nothing back. So
- 19:42Speaker 1: I'm giving her a fair opportunity to come on and
- 19:44Speaker 1: talk about this. Derek Oden is with us today from
- 19:47Speaker 1: Flyover Strategy Easy or consultants for brinker Harding's race, and
- 19:50Speaker 1: we're talking about the congressional district to race right now.
- 19:55Speaker 1: But Tom becka Derek was on the other day and
- 19:58Speaker 1: after he was on, By the way, Tom Becke is
- 20:01Speaker 1: a friend, but he's so much fun to argue with,
- 20:04Speaker 1: and so I just can't help myself. But anyway, he
- 20:07Speaker 1: sent me a text after the show and he said,
- 20:10Speaker 1: I just got this from one of your listeners and
- 20:13Speaker 1: my responses included. So this was sent to Tom and
- 20:16Speaker 1: it said I missed your segment with Gina kfab yesterday,
- 20:19Speaker 1: but she gave a brief recap today. She said you
- 20:22Speaker 1: asked something to the effect of why would someone still
- 20:25Speaker 1: want to be a Republican today? My counter argument would
- 20:28Speaker 1: be why would anyone still want to be a Democrat?
- 20:31Speaker 1: Neither is what it used to be. Tom's response was true,
- 20:35Speaker 1: but Republicans used to be for states' rights and now
- 20:38Speaker 1: they don't trust the states to run elections. Republicans used
- 20:42Speaker 1: to be for fair trade and now they're for terrists.
- 20:44Speaker 1: Republicans used to be for family values, and now they
- 20:47Speaker 1: support a man mentioned in the Epstein files over one
- 20:51Speaker 1: thousand times who had sex with a porn star when
- 20:54Speaker 1: his wife just had a baby, and grabbed about grabbing
- 20:57Speaker 1: women by the blank. They used to be a rule
- 21:00Speaker 1: of law, Now they release convicted criminals that want to
- 21:04Speaker 1: kill the VIP's president. Republicans used to be for fiscal responsibility,
- 21:08Speaker 1: Those days are gone. Democrats used to be for social issues,
- 21:12Speaker 1: Now they're for more liberal social issues. Of the two,
- 21:16Speaker 1: I'd say Democrats change the least, wouldn't you agree, Jean?
- 21:20Speaker 1: So my response, and then I want you to respond, Derek,
- 21:23Speaker 1: and I said an Denise Powell announced that she's into
- 21:26Speaker 1: faery porn. She represents the Democrat agenda open borders for everyone,
- 21:31Speaker 1: including felons, get rid of Trump, the police, ice and prisons.
- 21:35Speaker 1: She supports abortion to the last month, transgender surgery for children,
- 21:40Speaker 1: and boys and girls' sports. And the Democrats are ousting
- 21:43Speaker 1: long term Democrats all over the country and electing socialist
- 21:47Speaker 1: and communists. Is this the Democrat party that you support?
- 21:52Speaker 1: And I said, I'm not saying that the Republican Party
- 21:54Speaker 1: hasn't swayed far to the right, because they have. And
- 21:58Speaker 1: then I said, heck, the Douglas County Republican Party didn't
- 22:01Speaker 1: support me Brinker or Don Bacon because we weren't Trump enough.
- 22:06Speaker 1: But the Democrats have fallen off the rails. Both parties
- 22:10Speaker 1: need to get back to their original ideals.
- 22:12Speaker 3: Derek, Yeah, no, absolutely, And I think it's interesting that
- 22:15Speaker 3: he says, well, Republicans believe this, and now they believe this.
- 22:18Speaker 2: Well, let's also go back.
- 22:19Speaker 3: There's a montage I think it's on Instagram or Facebook
- 22:21Speaker 3: somewhere where you actually had Bill Clinton. Bill Clinton used
- 22:25Speaker 3: to harp even Barack Obama. Barack Obama was actually the
- 22:28Speaker 3: deportation you know chief. Essentially he deported more people than anybody.
- 22:33Speaker 3: Bill Clinton used to talk about, you know, if you're
- 22:35Speaker 3: coming here, illegally, you should not get government benefits. Bill
- 22:38Speaker 3: Clinton was one of the ones working with you know,
- 22:40Speaker 3: the former Great New Gingrich to actually balance the budget.
- 22:43Speaker 1: So my question Bill Clinton is the one who had
- 22:46Speaker 1: sex with one of his aids right while he was
- 22:48Speaker 1: in office.
- 22:49Speaker 3: So it's like, what actually happened, you know, between you know,
- 22:51Speaker 3: in the last ten twenty years. I think really in
- 22:53Speaker 3: the onset of the or in the onset of the
- 22:56Speaker 3: Trump era, what you've actually seen is the Democrats kind
- 22:58Speaker 3: of coming out and sposing. Really, and again I don't
- 23:01Speaker 3: mean all Democrats with the Democrat Party as a whole.
- 23:05Speaker 3: When you have people in Colorado, longtime Democrats who are
- 23:09Speaker 3: very liberal, tax and spend Democrats, they're not even moderates,
- 23:12Speaker 3: they're not blue dogs, and they're getting replaced by literally,
- 23:15Speaker 3: you know, DSA communists, I think that's a problem. And again,
- 23:19Speaker 3: people can have disagreements with whether it be the president
- 23:22Speaker 3: or with any number of Republicans, whether it be even
- 23:23Speaker 3: our friend Congressman Vacant. But Bricker Harding actually has a
- 23:27Speaker 3: message of things that he is for. He's written two
- 23:30Speaker 3: op eds talking about you know, the top you know,
- 23:32Speaker 3: the two priorities of his campaign is making life more
- 23:35Speaker 3: affordable and actually reforming Washington, d C.
- 23:37Speaker 1: And then he tells how he's going to do it exactly.
- 23:39Speaker 3: And actually having specific plans. Here's what I want to
- 23:43Speaker 3: work towards mm HM, and everything that Denise stands for,
- 23:46Speaker 3: you know, again a part like you said, mayor from
- 23:47Speaker 3: you know, transgender surgeries for minors, and you know, donating
- 23:51Speaker 3: and supporting AOC and allowing men to compete in girls sports.
- 23:54Speaker 2: It's like, what do you actually stand for?
- 23:56Speaker 1: Right exactly?
- 23:57Speaker 2: Now?
- 23:57Speaker 1: I'm gonna I'm just gonna go on a little bit
- 23:59Speaker 1: further because Tom Beca can't stand it. He had to
- 24:01Speaker 1: answer to what I sent him, but he said, he
- 24:04Speaker 1: spent time in New Mexico when Biden was in office.
- 24:07Speaker 1: I saw border agents stopping cars and arresting a man
- 24:10Speaker 1: walking across the desert. I have not heard Denise or
- 24:13Speaker 1: any high ranking Dems calling for open borders. And I said,
- 24:18Speaker 1: you know, I said, Tom, you know, I knew a
- 24:21Speaker 1: Millard teacher who was hunting down little girls and having
- 24:25Speaker 1: sex with them. And I said, so, therefore should we
- 24:28Speaker 1: get rid of all the teachers because of that? And
- 24:30Speaker 1: I said, there are bad players in police, ice, prison
- 24:33Speaker 1: teachers doctors, etc. That doesn't mean you get rid of them.
- 24:36Speaker 1: That means you need to get rid of the problem
- 24:38Speaker 1: once and you need to fix.
- 24:40Speaker 3: The system right and going back to you, I think
- 24:43Speaker 3: Tom has also said that, well, Denise was a for
- 24:45Speaker 3: open borders.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Democrats aret for that.
- 24:46Speaker 3: We literally had open borders under the Biden administration and
- 24:49Speaker 3: one of the things that we've forgotten about the Trump
- 24:51Speaker 3: administration early on on day one, basically shut the border down.
- 24:55Speaker 3: And I think the Democrats try to demigogue that issue again,
- 24:58Speaker 3: the Democrat Party, not necessarily local Demo voters. They try
- 25:01Speaker 3: to demogogue that issue. But it's a national security threat
- 25:05Speaker 3: when you have millions and millions of people. And on
- 25:07Speaker 3: the housing issue as well, flooding in thirty percent, they
- 25:11Speaker 3: said during the Biden's tenure, thirty percent of the costs
- 25:15Speaker 3: of the increase of a new home and of rents
- 25:18Speaker 3: had to do because of the flooding of illegal immigrants
- 25:20Speaker 3: into this country.
- 25:21Speaker 2: So it permeates.
- 25:22Speaker 3: It affects school districts, it affects crime and safety, it
- 25:25Speaker 3: affects housing. I would like to see when you when
- 25:28Speaker 3: you say you want to defund ice, it's just like
- 25:30Speaker 3: you know when you say basically, you want to defund Israel. Well,
- 25:33Speaker 3: you're really attacking the Jewish people when you say you
- 25:34Speaker 3: want to defund ice, you're really saying you're for open
- 25:36Speaker 3: borders because who else is going to enforce the immigration laws?
- 25:40Speaker 1: Absolutely? And you know, talking about safety. You know, one
- 25:43Speaker 1: of the things Speaker Johnson said which I was amazed at,
- 25:47Speaker 1: but he said on social media now about fifty percent
- 25:52Speaker 1: of what you see on social media are from Chinese
- 25:56Speaker 1: and Russian box. That amazed me because I even saw
- 26:02Speaker 1: it with my race. I mean, all these things that
- 26:05Speaker 1: were coming across on social media and you're thinking, who
- 26:08Speaker 1: are these people saying these things? To think about them
- 26:11Speaker 1: being Chinese and Russian bots, that's scary. Now. One of
- 26:14Speaker 1: the things Derek I said, this is Derek odin with
- 26:17Speaker 1: me with flyover strategies? Is I asked the speaker, I said,
- 26:20Speaker 1: what do we do then to increase voter turnout? It
- 26:24Speaker 1: seems like the Democrats are activated, they're rabid, they're ready
- 26:28Speaker 1: to go where. It seems like the Republicans are apathetic
- 26:31Speaker 1: in staying home. My race the general election was twenty
- 26:35Speaker 1: seven percent. Brinker's race in the primary, I believe was
- 26:39Speaker 1: twenty six percent. And one thing he said to me
- 26:42Speaker 1: was he said, people vote out of fear and anger.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Comment about that, and what do we do then if
- 26:49Speaker 1: they vote out of fear or anger? Do we just
- 26:51Speaker 1: have to keep on telling people what this election means
- 26:54Speaker 1: if the wrong person is elected.
- 26:56Speaker 3: Yeah, so great questions, Maarra. And I think that's definitely
- 26:59Speaker 3: a concern. And it's not only do we have to
- 27:01Speaker 3: we have to make sure our people turn out and
- 27:03Speaker 3: it's not just the Republicans that turn out every time.
- 27:05Speaker 3: One of the strategies that I think has been engaged with.
- 27:08Speaker 3: There's there's a notice article on it that they interviewed
- 27:12Speaker 3: basically the NRCC, the RNC and the President's White House
- 27:16Speaker 3: and what we did in six which that get based.
- 27:18Speaker 3: But about contrasts, right, and if if everyone just thinks that,
- 27:22Speaker 3: you know, it doesn't matter who's elected, that it'll all
- 27:24Speaker 3: be the same, I would argue, especially in this race,
- 27:27Speaker 3: it's very different. I mean, we have Kara Eastman two
- 27:29Speaker 3: point zero. Denise Powell and Brinker Harding are two very
- 27:32Speaker 3: very different people who have very different versions of what
- 27:35Speaker 3: Americas should look like for the next two hundred and
- 27:37Speaker 3: fifty years and from our perspective. It's making sure educating
- 27:42Speaker 3: that we're we're not dealing with a good old school
- 27:44Speaker 3: you know, Brad Ashford and Ashford John Cavanaugh Democrat anymore.
- 27:48Speaker 3: We are now dealing with literally a communist, I would
- 27:50Speaker 3: argue in Denise Powell. So when that at least espouses
- 27:53Speaker 3: those views, that's very dangerous. And with Mary Ewing, when
- 27:56Speaker 3: them with them toppling the mayor's seat, we're one, I
- 28:00Speaker 3: would say, with the congressional seat, we're one away from
- 28:02Speaker 3: really losing all of CD two. It's very important you
- 28:06Speaker 3: have to get out and vote, and we have to
- 28:08Speaker 3: have a message that also reaches across it and brings
- 28:10Speaker 3: those middle voters over to us.
- 28:12Speaker 1: Absolutely. You know, it has said many times that politics
- 28:14Speaker 1: is about the art of winning, and you know that,
- 28:17Speaker 1: but keep in mind this, folks. You know, elections have consequences,
- 28:21Speaker 1: and this is what we are seeing nationwide right now.
- 28:25Speaker 1: Just one last last point I want to make Heartland
- 28:27Speaker 1: Pride Parade was this weekend, and you know I walked
- 28:30Speaker 1: in that parade for the whole time that I was mayor.
- 28:33Speaker 1: When it was in Omaha, we brought it. I it
- 28:35Speaker 1: was the one that brought it back from Council Bluffs
- 28:37Speaker 1: to Omaha. But now the theme was Pride is Protest.
- 28:41Speaker 1: So it took a real political turn this year and
- 28:46Speaker 1: there were people protesting. They were protesting about gender rights,
- 28:51Speaker 1: about transgenders, about girl boys and girls sports. I mean,
- 28:55Speaker 1: it really took a turn. I think that was usually
- 28:58Speaker 1: one of the most friendliest crew. I uh praid as
- 29:01Speaker 1: I walked in, people were very happy, But it did
- 29:04Speaker 1: concern me that that again, it took a turn this year,
- 29:08Speaker 1: and it was about protests this year. So, I mean,
- 29:10Speaker 1: peaceful protest is fine. We all believe in it. We
- 29:12Speaker 1: all believe in in, you know, freedom of speech. But
- 29:16Speaker 1: at the same time, there was a lot said this
- 29:18Speaker 1: year that wasn't sent before that was very angry towards
- 29:22Speaker 1: elected officials and towards government. And that's really too bad.
- 29:26Speaker 1: Derek Odin any last words.
- 29:28Speaker 3: I would just say, you know, I appreciate you having
- 29:29Speaker 3: me on Mare like like we said, this really this election.
- 29:32Speaker 3: People who don't think that, you know, second Congressional District matters,
- 29:35Speaker 3: I think most people n CD two know it does.
- 29:37Speaker 3: The House majority runs what happens here in Omaha reverb
- 29:42Speaker 3: rates across the country. The House majority runs through Erascus
- 29:45Speaker 3: second Congressional District, and voters are going to have a
- 29:47Speaker 3: real simple choice. We can have a socialist that aligns
- 29:50Speaker 3: with aoc AT callar Kara Eastpan two point zero, or
- 29:53Speaker 3: we can have someone like Brinker Harding, like you Mayor,
- 29:55Speaker 3: who have been on the ground, who have spent twenty
- 29:57Speaker 3: thirty forty years building and working in and raising a
- 30:00Speaker 3: family in this community, who actually has a positive, optimistic
- 30:05Speaker 3: vision for what the next two hundred and fifty years
- 30:07Speaker 3: of America needs to be very good.
- 30:08Speaker 1: And you know what, again, I am asking Denise Palace,
- 30:12Speaker 1: she will be on. I'd give her equal time. She
- 30:14Speaker 1: could come on with her team too. The offer is
- 30:17Speaker 1: still open, but we still have not and I know
- 30:19Speaker 1: Chris Baker has has sent messages too. So this is
- 30:22Speaker 1: an important race. I thank Derek Odin for being here today,
- 30:26Speaker 1: and let's let's let's make sure that we keep on
- 30:29Speaker 1: reading and understanding what these candidates are saying, and let's
- 30:34Speaker 1: get out to vote in November. That's the important part.
- 30:36Speaker 1: Derek Olden, thank you so much for being here today.
- 30:38Speaker 2: Thank you, Mary, I appreciate you.
- 30:40Speaker 4: Kfabe comment line with your host of the show, Geene
- 30:42Speaker 4: Stoutht my name is Peyton Highlock. Hopefully you are hearing us, Okay,
- 30:46Speaker 4: on this Monday morning, you know, gen Scott decides to
- 30:49Speaker 4: go on vacation and all of a sudden, this building
- 30:52Speaker 4: starts to burn.
- 30:52Speaker 1: And all hell breaks. What what I was getting textas
- 30:56Speaker 1: right and left saying if you're on the air, we
- 30:58Speaker 1: can't hear you, and so we're gonna we are not
- 31:02Speaker 1: going to blame ourselves, right Peyton, and we're gonna blame
- 31:05Speaker 1: somebody else.
- 31:05Speaker 4: Never always, always let's blame for hees, blame somebody else.
- 31:09Speaker 1: Okay, Sorry for that in the very beginning, because I
- 31:13Speaker 1: don't I'm not really sure what you miss. So if
- 31:15Speaker 1: I repeated myself with Derrick Odin, that's because we weren't
- 31:17Speaker 1: sure when we came back on the air. But you
- 31:20Speaker 1: know it's at Glenn back. You know, some people have
- 31:22Speaker 1: heard him, I'm sure, but he's obviously filling in there
- 31:25Speaker 1: for Scott Voorhees being on vacation. So I hope Scott
- 31:29Speaker 1: enjoys his vacation. Great conversation with Derrick Odin. Knows a
- 31:33Speaker 1: lot about Nebraska politics and what's going on with this
- 31:37Speaker 1: congressional race. It's something we all need to keep our
- 31:41Speaker 1: eyes on. So we're gonna be talking more about it.
- 31:44Speaker 1: Mary Barrett, It's going to be back on tomorrow. Mary
- 31:46Speaker 1: Barrett was on We're from the Barrett Family, from Barrett Barleycorn,
- 31:50Speaker 1: I mean well known family, have an all family and
- 31:54Speaker 1: she's gonna come back on tomorrow. She wanted to come
- 31:56Speaker 1: back on. She was on ride after the primary and
- 31:59Speaker 1: had a lot to say. So I think you guys
- 32:02Speaker 1: enjoyed her interview and she will be back on. But Peyton,
- 32:06Speaker 1: you had the Gourmet Club on Friday night with Chris Baker.
- 32:09Speaker 5: Now we did.
- 32:10Speaker 1: How was that?
- 32:11Speaker 5: I think it was a really really good time.
- 32:13Speaker 4: It was very nice to see all of you guys there,
- 32:16Speaker 4: and this is obviously something that Scott and Chris and
- 32:19Speaker 4: Kfab are going to try and continue to do in
- 32:22Speaker 4: the future as well. This one was just the getting
- 32:25Speaker 4: back to it initiation again, and I think I had
- 32:27Speaker 4: a I know, I had a really really fun time.
- 32:30Speaker 1: I'm kind of mad at you and Chris Baker because
- 32:34Speaker 1: I wasn't invited, and you know, I never turned down food,
- 32:38Speaker 1: so I'm kind of I guess I have my feelings really.
- 32:41Speaker 5: Hurt, especially press Club food that was so.
- 32:43Speaker 1: Exactly so I'm going to in my anger, I'm going
- 32:46Speaker 1: to send Chris Baker an email. Are you ready for this?
- 32:49Speaker 1: I'm ready, And your job is to make sure it
- 32:51Speaker 1: gets on the air. Okay, Dear Chris, I am mad
- 32:57Speaker 1: that I was not invited to the Gourmet Club. If
- 33:01Speaker 1: I have to listen to your show in the afternoon
- 33:05Speaker 1: to find out about these events, it's not going to happen.
- 33:08Speaker 1: Your friend, me and Gene there you go. You better
- 33:14Speaker 1: read this on the air. I didn't know about it, folks,
- 33:17Speaker 1: or I would have been there. As I said, my
- 33:19Speaker 1: husband and I, Kevin, we would never turn down food ever.
- 33:23Speaker 1: But I hope APTI ADOPTI, ADOPTI. That's my voice too, ADOPTI.
- 33:29Speaker 1: That is fun. So anyway that hopefully the event was
- 33:33Speaker 1: really fine and lots going on here in Omaha. We
- 33:35Speaker 1: had a lot more to talk about, you know, the
- 33:38Speaker 1: event that I was at with the Speaker this weekend.
- 33:42Speaker 1: Governor Heinemann was there, Governor Pillen was there. Don Bacon
- 33:46Speaker 1: was there, Congressman Adrian Smith was there. There were a
- 33:49Speaker 1: lot of people there, and again, it just irritated the
- 33:54Speaker 1: heck out of me to see this video last night
- 33:57Speaker 1: of Denise saying one thing after another after another about
- 34:02Speaker 1: how speaker Mike Johnson and how Brinker Harding feel when
- 34:07Speaker 1: it was what she was saying was absolutely a lie
- 34:09Speaker 1: and they didn't say anything like that. I was there,
- 34:13Speaker 1: she wasn't there, and they said nothing like what she
- 34:16Speaker 1: is claiming. And she also, as I said, claimed that
- 34:19Speaker 1: there was about five people there and it was packed.
- 34:22Speaker 4: Denise, Well, there was definitely at least five people there. Yeah,
- 34:25Speaker 4: but there was more. Yeah, I would assume.
- 34:27Speaker 1: Yeah, Well that's not what she meant. So still offer
- 34:30Speaker 1: is still open if she wants to come on this show.
- 34:32Speaker 1: I'd love to have her on this show and we
- 34:35Speaker 1: will go through those things and ask guess what she
- 34:38Speaker 1: stands for and what she is going to do. She
- 34:41Speaker 1: always says, you have to trust me, or you have
- 34:43Speaker 1: to believe in me, and I want to know what
- 34:45Speaker 1: we need to believe in. So that's these things are
- 34:49Speaker 1: all important.
- 34:50Speaker 4: Absolutely, Gene, and this is the kfaebe comment Line, your
- 34:53Speaker 4: host of the show, Jean Stouthart. All of our episodes
- 34:57Speaker 4: that are live on air are uploaded to kfabe or
- 35:00Speaker 4: the iHeartRadio app the Gene Stothart podcast kfab comment Line.
- 35:05Speaker 5: You can hear all of these things.
- 35:07Speaker 4: Also, comment at kfab dot com is a great resource
- 35:11Speaker 4: to ask questions and voice your concerns. I got an
- 35:15Speaker 4: email this weekend Gene, and I thought this was a
- 35:18Speaker 4: fun one that I wanted to bring up. This one
- 35:20Speaker 4: comes from Dusty, Please settle a family debate. Stayed in
- 35:24Speaker 4: town this weekend for a basketball tournament. Our hotel was
- 35:27Speaker 4: near the Charles Schwab Building near one hundred and eighth
- 35:30Speaker 4: Street by the Interstate. Is that the true exterior of
- 35:35Speaker 4: the building or is it in the process of being updated.
- 35:38Speaker 1: That is a true exterior of the building. And you
- 35:41Speaker 1: know what for all of you I know about this,
- 35:44Speaker 1: For all of you that don't know. Number one, that
- 35:46Speaker 1: building to me is not the most attractive building, especially
- 35:51Speaker 1: at night. But that outer portion is all glass, and
- 35:55Speaker 1: that is the natural color of glass, so it takes
- 35:58Speaker 1: on a green tint. But that building is so energy efficient.
- 36:02Speaker 1: That is just there's a curtain wall they call it
- 36:05Speaker 1: between that glass. There's space between the real wall and
- 36:09Speaker 1: that glass, and they call it a curtain wall. And
- 36:12Speaker 1: that insulates that building much much better.
- 36:14Speaker 4: So it doesn't get so hot in the sun and
- 36:16Speaker 4: probably helps it from being so cold.
- 36:18Speaker 1: In the winter exactly. And every one of those pieces
- 36:21Speaker 1: of glass, if you look at it closely, there's little
- 36:25Speaker 1: like indentations in it to help reflect the sun outward too. Wow,
- 36:29Speaker 1: it's an amazing building. They capture water on the roof
- 36:32Speaker 1: of that building to flush the toilets, and the insulation
- 36:36Speaker 1: of the building is made with old denim blue jeans.
- 36:39Speaker 5: Wow.
- 36:39Speaker 1: I mean, it's pretty amazing, amazing, But yes, that is
- 36:42Speaker 1: all natural color of glass. That's why it looks the
- 36:45Speaker 1: way it does. But that is it for us today.
- 36:48Speaker 1: I want to thank you all for spending this hour
- 36:50Speaker 1: with us, and thanks for listening, and we'd love for
- 36:52Speaker 1: you to join us tomorrow again with Mary Barrett. I'm
- 36:56Speaker 1: Jean Stothard and this is eleven to ten Kfabe
