  SPEAKER_00: And Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford is not listed on the initial week one injury report and should also be good to go.

  SPEAKER_00: Now Buffalo Bills wide receiver Khalil Shakir suffered a high ankle sprain in practice about a month ago, but he returned to practice last week and appears to be in good shape to play in week one against the Ravens.

  SPEAKER_00: Patriots wide receiver Stephon Diggs is also expect also expected to play in week one against the Raiders, and Cleveland Browns running back Quinshawn Judkins still remains unsigned, but the team is hoping he returns to the field at some point this week.

  SPEAKER_00: So now that we had that brief rundown of the news and notes, again, it's week one.

  SPEAKER_00: We've we've gone over everything, we've beat it to death, and there's not gonna be a lot more to report until the game starts, and we see what everyone can do.

  SPEAKER_00: But with that being said, let's get into our hot matchups.

  SPEAKER_00: For my first hot matchup this week, I got the Cowboys versus the Eagles.

  SPEAKER_00: The Cowboys receiving core is back to its full potential with Dak, CeeDee Lamb, and George Pickens.

  SPEAKER_00: All three are healthy, and in my opinion, they're all playing with something to prove.

  SPEAKER_00: While the Eagles' defense is rock solid, their secondary has changed a lot and could have some growing pains at the start of the season.

  SPEAKER_00: If that's the case, the Cowboys could exploit that a lot going into the game tonight.

  SPEAKER_00: And obviously, I'm not as confident in their running game, but their receivers should do very well tonight.

  SPEAKER_00: Now on the other side of the field, the Eagles receiving court is also back to its full potential.

  SPEAKER_00: We had some mild concerns with AJ Brown and Devontae Smith, but those concerns faded with the questionable tag disappearing beside their names yesterday, and they logged full practices this week.

  SPEAKER_00: As we know, the Cowboys no longer have Micah Parsons, and it goes without saying that everyone is very high on the Eagles run game, of course, with Barkley and Hurts.

  SPEAKER_00: This will be a high-scoring affair.

  SPEAKER_00: Despite the Eagles having a hardcore defense, again, they've made some changes.

  SPEAKER_00: This is gonna be a high-scoring game.

  SPEAKER_00: Now my second hot matchup, I've got the Bills versus the Ravens.

  SPEAKER_00: Nothing really has changed significantly for either team in the offseason.

  SPEAKER_00: You have the two best quarterbacks in the league and two of the best offenses in the league.

  SPEAKER_00: While both teams are also very respectable on defense, it probably won't be enough to stop the offense on either side of the football.

  SPEAKER_00: We don't need to go over who the starters are, we don't need to go over who you're gonna play.

  SPEAKER_00: You already have them in your lineup, don't make any changes based on the defense.

  SPEAKER_00: Let's get serious.

  SPEAKER_00: Now for my cold calls of the week, unfortunately, I have my Steelers versus the Jets as the first game.

  SPEAKER_00: Two of the best defenses in the league, going against two offenses with a lot of question marks.

  SPEAKER_00: While I'm confident that Justin Fields and Aaron Rodgers will have respectable seasons, I need to see a few games first.

  SPEAKER_00: I love DK Metcalf, but this is a new team for him too.

  SPEAKER_00: And I believe the Jets run game will be all over the place, with Justin Fields, Brees Hall, and Braylon Allen all getting involved, lowering the ceiling for the running backs.

  SPEAKER_00: And for my second game, I've got the Raiders versus the Patriots.

  SPEAKER_00: There have been a lot of changes on both of these teams as well.

  SPEAKER_00: And while they could develop into something as the season progresses, I don't see that happening in the first game of the season.

  SPEAKER_00: The Raiders have a new and improved quarterback in Geno Smith, and a new and improved running back in rookie Ashton Genty, but a weak offensive line.

  SPEAKER_00: The Patriots D has changed a little bit, but they appear to be moving in the right direction, and this will be a difficult test for the Raiders.

  SPEAKER_00: The Patriots are in a similar situation as the Raiders.

  SPEAKER_00: Drake May is a great quarterback, and they have a great rookie running back in Trevion Henderson, but they have one of the worst O-lines in the NFL.

  SPEAKER_00: Their wide receiver, Stephon Diggs, is new to the team, and his knee is probably not 100% yet, so it may take a few weeks for them to get it together.

  SPEAKER_00: Again, there's a lot of red flags with both of these teams and just some growing pains that they got to deal with for the first few weeks of the season.

  SPEAKER_00: Of course, if you do have some guys like Ashton Genty, you're gonna play them.

  SPEAKER_00: I'm just saying, and of course, Brock Bowers without question, just lower your expectations a little bit.
