- 0:54we could cover anything. But it's gentry gee who shall not be named.
- 1:00Good morning, good morning, Welcome sir. Absolutely thrilled to be here.
- 1:07Thank you so much. Thank you Dan for having other plans so I could
- 1:10step in. Yeah, and I'll release him from the from the cave here
- 1:14as soon as we're done. Yeah, he's in there right up somewhere in
- 1:18the back. Yeah, you've got him trying to make sure he tells you
- 1:22there's more than three lives. I said, not right now, now you
- 1:29asked the question what's your favorite breakfast food? Bronson goes back and says,
- 1:32bacon, egg and cheese bagel, and boy, that sounds delicious. Actually,
- 1:36that sounds really good. Bring one over, Bronson, I'm ready wait
- 1:38with with like plain cheese or like American cheese or cream cheese. Who now
- 1:48cheddar? Yeah, Nick, slice cheddar? Yeah, I gotta go.
- 1:53I gotta go cream cheese with some HAPs in it. That sounds pretty Yeah.
- 2:00If I was going to do that on a bagel, then I would
- 2:01have to have locks on it, just and red onion. A little bit
- 2:06of red onion, A little bit of red onion. There you go.
- 2:07That sounds good. Jazz is like super slick. He's uh, he's top
- 2:15notch, top chef. He goes for the egg McMuffin. Nah, the
- 2:20egg mcmuffins. All right, But what is the word with the pancakes as
- 2:23buns? Yeah? Better? Yeah, talk about hitting his sweet tooth.
- 2:29All at the same time, it's like, oh god, just those argies
- 2:31have that with one of their McCafe um Mocha's, you know, which is
- 2:36mostly a hot chocolate with a little bit of a coffee in it. There
- 2:38you go. Oh yeah, just shoot yourself with insulin right then and there,
- 2:42right exactly. Yeah. Now there is a chain of coffee shops that's
- 2:47new here in my area, but it's not new around the country. I
- 2:51don't know if you guys have seen him yet. Dutch bros. Have you
- 2:53guys seen the Dutch bros game over here? Yeah, they're from over your
- 2:57way. Yeah. Um, that's bros. It is. It's crazy and
- 3:01and talk about um instant diabetes. I mean, the sugar level these things
- 3:07is insane. Wait, the Dutch bros at your place, are they always
- 3:12like way too happy? Yes? Yeah. They train their employees the way
- 3:16the Chick fil A does, where they literally inject them when they come in
- 3:20the door with a little bit of sunshine and uh yeah whatever. Yeah,
- 3:27my body says strong youth pastor energy there. Yes, yes, yes,
- 3:36jazz go try um a double a medium double torture hot. It is.
- 3:43It is the best coffee to have hung over, double torture. Yeah,
- 3:49it's it's like four shots of espresso. It's like God, it's like a
- 3:53it's like a hot chocolate with it's true hot chocolate with the espresso in it.
- 3:59Glad to see and Drek cass. That's right. Yeah, yeah,
- 4:06that is what your support is doing for this show people. Yes, yes,
- 4:11make sure I donate to the coffee account so that E stays on the
- 4:13wall. Now what's funny is you can't tell, but I love this about
- 4:16this setup, right this line right here. This is concrete painted like my
- 4:25favorite green color. I guess it's not really my favorite anymore. This is
- 4:28pig board and this is an actual ledge. So these are all just sitting
- 4:33on the ledge. Yeah, like a basement. Yeah, so I switch
- 4:39over from so this morning, I have trek cast up. Tonight I'll take
- 4:43all those letters down and put eve echoes up. And then tomorrow morning for
- 4:46work, I'll have a tech new water jet up there with the poster.
- 4:48And so now I've got three setups for the week. Do you ever just
- 4:53put Chad back there? I should? I can. Actually I don't have
- 4:58a D. I have everything with a D. I should get a D
- 5:00and put you need that day? Yeah, walked on? I did?
- 5:04I did? He did walk that? Yeah? Please please tell Chad how
- 5:10he needs the D. We got a couple of new people in the great
- 5:15it's great, all right, Well, should we get to the news.
- 5:19Absolutely all right, so our first news story comes to us from trekmovie dot
- 5:28com and we're getting a little bit of a preview. I don't know if
- 5:31you guys know this, but Comic Con is right around the corner. It's
- 5:33roughly two weeks away. Yeah, yeah. Always in July, Caramount is
- 5:38going to have an exhibit. They're one of the few few studios that are
- 5:41planning to do something there, and so there will be a little bit of
- 5:44a Star Trek presentation. So they usually do that. They don't save it
- 5:47for STLV. They always have it for well that's STLV. Is it's big
- 5:54for us, but it's not big. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 5:57so that that's why. Yeah. But um, anyways, so we're learning
- 6:01a little bit. They said that the Star Trek panel will include things about
- 6:05casting crew and some sort of preview they have said from Star Trek Lower Decks,
- 6:12Star Trek Discovery, and Star Trek Strange New Worlds. So what that
- 6:16exclusive content is we have no idea. People are thinking it's going to be
- 6:20a some sort or trailer for Discovery, but you know, it's all just
- 6:26it's speculation right now. So what do you think they'll do? Um?
- 6:33Well, okay, so for Strange New Worlds, I bet they'll show another
- 6:36clip or good clip between the Lower Decks crossover episode, right, and then
- 6:45for Lower Decks they'll show the other flip side of that. You know.
- 6:47At that point the crossover is either that that week or the next. It's
- 6:51like real soon after that, so it doesn't happen the week. Yeah,
- 6:56it happens the week before STLV. Yeah, it's a seventh episode in and
- 6:59we're four already. Yeah yeah, so that's how close we are all this,
- 7:02ladies and gentlemen. Yeah yeah, so yeah, no, if that's
- 7:09what I would do if I was then that's exactly what I would do,
- 7:11is I would say, and I would have a surprise. Oh guess what,
- 7:14This crossover goes both ways and we see cartoon versions of people from Strange
- 7:18New world Yeah, that's true. That would be great. They're also gonna
- 7:23have something called the Energized Lounge, which would be just a cool place to
- 7:27relax within the within the convention, and then they're also going to have something
- 7:31called Strange New Worlds at Fandom Party, so it will be some sort of
- 7:36interactive photo booth and gaming exhibit that is there as well. So that's fun,
- 7:44way more than what they're going to do for STLV. I'm sure,
- 7:46yeah, which I mean, I understand the difference between the two events.
- 7:50Right, The comic con is huge, it's global, lots of people are
- 7:55watching it from all across multiple genres, multiple studios. Shows what You've got
- 8:01a chance to lure in people who are not Trek fans, right, you're
- 8:05there for other stuff, whereas it's just preaching to the choir. Yeah,
- 8:09yeah, exactly. Yeah. But at the same time, so I get
- 8:13all that, it's fine. I'm I'm okay with that. I think it's
- 8:16smart. I would do the same if it was underneath my purview and not
- 8:20not Terry Metallus, but the other guys, the other guy who I don't
- 8:24like. Um, well, I keep forgetting his name anymore because I keep
- 8:28thinking of Terry Matallus, But it's not Terry. It's uh yeah, Kurtzman
- 8:31with a short right hair, Alex Kraveran Yeah, my favorite. Yeah.
- 8:37Anyway, Um, if I was him and I had his job, I
- 8:41would make a point. And they screwed up this thing, even even with
- 8:43the Chicago convention when they were trying to have their own you know, and
- 8:46they were going to have them rotating around and that didn't go so very very
- 8:50well. They did one and said, no, we're not doing that again.
- 8:54Um. I would make sure to have something major at STLV and announce
- 8:58it ahead of time, even though they're doing something at Comic Con. Have
- 9:03something specifically for the fans. So I can see them doing all of this
- 9:09for Comic Con, but then announcing like Star Trick Legacy at STLV, because
- 9:15that's where you're gonna get the giant pop you already know it. Oh,
- 9:18good point, exactly exactly so or Academy, Yeah, something like that with
- 9:26the writers strike. Who knows of academy will happen. That's yeah, that's
- 9:30a good point. Let's hope the writer strike kills it. God. Yeah,
- 9:35well, and then you might have an actor's strike too, So yeah,
- 9:39I saw that. That seems to be going on too. So te
- 9:43Bear makes an excellent point. I could do Kurtzman's job better than him,
- 9:46because I am Chad and I am always wrong. Jarre's the Star Trick Legacy
- 9:52would make sense. It's true, all right, Our next story comes to
- 9:56him from Slash Film, and this is kind of cool. They do did
- 10:00an interview um with the actress who plays Ortega's and talked to her a little
- 10:05bit about what we can expect for her character in the coming episodes. So
- 10:09apparently we're gonna get a little bit more of her backstory, is what we're
- 10:13being told her time as a soldier. So that's cool. Um yeah,
- 10:22I just thought that was kind of neat. It's it's kind of a slow
- 10:24newsweek, so yeah, well they all have, um a little bit of
- 10:28a background as a soldier. Outside of Pike, it feels like Right and
- 10:33Lawn of the war, he wasn't around. You're right, um, Lawn
- 10:39and Benga and now Ortega, Um, we're all um. Oh you know
- 10:43what it's because they came out of the Klingon War exactly. They were all
- 10:46part of the quing On War. They all have different um yeah, they
- 10:52weren't roles. Yeah yeah, no, none of them were. Um,
- 10:54they had different roles. So it'll be interesting to know how this crew actually
- 10:58came together with all these people being kind of separate beforehand and with the Enterprise.
- 11:01So we know what the Enterprise was doing during the war, right,
- 11:05they wrote a book about it. They say it's cannon Frankly, I hope
- 11:09they changed that and they just write some backstories in or even have like a
- 11:13flashback episodes of what they were doing during the war instead of that book.
- 11:16The book was called The Enterprise War. I forget who wrote it, but
- 11:18it was horribles. Yeah, pretty Epauike was so good they couldn't use them
- 11:22in the war. Pike was so good they couldn't use them in the war.
- 11:26And Spock was so good that they had him literally walking on a planet
- 11:30in a robotics suit for like six months NonStop. That's what happened in the
- 11:33book. I'm not kidding, it's a joke. So yeah, so um
- 11:37at any rate, but um what's her name was on the on the Enterprise
- 11:43too, which was interesting. This is the from Discovery. Daryl says that
- 11:52you're wrong. The book wasn't that bad. I mean, I read all
- 11:56of it, so it can't be that bad. But it was still kind
- 11:58of a poor I'm saying it's bad from a poor use of the Enterprise during
- 12:01the Cleanland War. That was a poor excuse. Well then and then had
- 12:05to figure it out. Well yeah, but that's a still also a pissed
- 12:07poor way to which the book. I mean, yes, the young young
- 12:11girl. That's who she was on the Enterprise during during that book. Um
- 12:16what's her name with the benzite with the things on her mouth? Yea,
- 12:20she was on the Enterprise, Yeah, exactly, young young girl. She
- 12:22was on um, the Enterprise with Pike during that whole thing, and then
- 12:28came back and then ended up with discovering all that. So it gave her
- 12:31a great backstory honestly, um, which they totally trashed and ruined and threw
- 12:35away and on Discovery like they did with every other character. So right,
- 12:39far from the court. So Carolaska story comes to from entertainment, and the
- 12:43headline is kind of misleading. The headline is Star Trek Prodigy missing episodes might
- 12:48be making their way home. So that would seem to think season two is
- 12:54going to be released somehow, right, That's kind of the implication. But
- 12:58that's not the case. So remember season one was split up into two parts,
- 13:05and the first part of season one actually aired on Nickelodeon. What's actually
- 13:09happening is they are making DVD and Blu Ray releases of the second half of
- 13:16season one, which did air on Paramount Plus but never aired on Nickelodeon.
- 13:22So technically put it all together. Yeah, yeah, so that's what's happening
- 13:30right. Season two is still like nearly complete. Even though they don't have
- 13:33no plans to air it, they're still gonna shop it around and hopefully sell
- 13:37it to somebody. So yeah, Demon says he did hear the Discovery was
- 13:43kind of trash. Indeed, yep, indeed, I finally found a way
- 13:50to get myself into the chat. Yes, chat has entered the chat.
- 13:56So anyways, the Blu rays and all that. The second half of season
- 14:01one looks like it will be releasing September twenty six in Canada according to the
- 14:07best Buy over there and the Amazon over there, so probably similar dates for
- 14:13America. But that is tentatively what is going on. So alrighty and that's
- 14:20the news. So I know we're not into the main topic yet, but
- 14:24yeah, you want to make sure that we cover is what was this about?
- 14:30What was what about her handsong? With the It's happened in a couple
- 14:37episodes. Now, yeah, I don't know, so we got a future
- 14:43story going on, probably, you know, I don't know. I mean,
- 14:50it could be just something they came up with themselves and then they just
- 14:54threw it into the show. Oh and I'm sorry if you're listening to the
- 14:56podcast, it's that thing where they take their finger and they swipe it under
- 15:01their eyes and move it from the corner of their eye out to the edge,
- 15:03as if you're putting on the black streak before you go play football,
- 15:07kind of yeah, or war paint or you know, the blood of Klingons
- 15:11or whatever it might be. Well, like Will Wheaton said that when he
- 15:16would sit there at the console, he had specific hand motions to do each
- 15:20tasks that he was supposed to do, and so then that way it was
- 15:24consistent, right, And apparently that is a thing anyone who pilots the enterprise,
- 15:30that's what they're taught. Is cool, Yeah, except for Artiga.
- 15:35Hers is I'm gonna do cats paw in two different spots, and I'm gonna
- 15:37lean forward and then lead side to side. That's what that's what she does
- 15:41when she flies. Well, because they're like the CGI will come in later
- 15:45and fix it. Yeah right, but I mean they've they've totally this is
- 15:48this is one of my pet peeple. Well, we'll get into this into
- 15:52the topic, I guess, Well, yeah, exactly, there it is.
- 15:54She's got the cats falls, she's leaning forward. It's as if she's
- 15:58got two joysticks that are a round orbs. I don't know. Yeah,
- 16:03let's do the main I love that. Yeah, that one too, A
- 16:14plus A plus. Am I the only one that wants that song to go
- 16:18on for just a little bit longer? Everything? Oh no, Dan complains
- 16:22about it every week. Yes, yes, but no, this is one
- 16:29of my eaters. Yeah. Yeah, and this is one of my complaints
- 16:33about um strange New worlds. Um, look at that screen shot right there,
- 16:37and look at the graphics and look at the layout. It's a gorgeous
- 16:40bridge, right, Um does it really fit for TuS era? And does
- 16:45the shuttlecraft? We get some really good inside views of the shuttlecraft this week.
- 16:51Not only is the shuttlecraft freaking huge, it's huge. It's bigger than
- 16:56Shuttlecraft and TNG. It looks way more advanced. Yeah, we've talked about
- 17:02this before, but we I know, but before we've agreed that Yeah,
- 17:06it's fine because it's just updated versions of what they would have done if they
- 17:10had all this technology back then. This is what they would have done or
- 17:14something like this, right, And I get that, but it's like it's
- 17:17not just the it's not just the look um and the technology that they're using.
- 17:22It's the size they've made everything freaking yeah. Yeah, like Captain's quarters,
- 17:27Yeah, I mean enormous. You remember what Kirks were on the same
- 17:33ship. Yeah? Tiny? Yeah. That that actually really brings up kind
- 17:40of a good point where, um, you know, I can't remember the
- 17:44literary term for it, but you've basically you have to kind of suspend disbelief
- 17:48for a bit when you're watching Strange New Worlds, because you know, you're
- 17:55a lifelong fan, you know that this is not really what the Enterprise would
- 17:59have looked like prior to TS. So you're like, Okay, I get
- 18:04that, this isn't it. This Okay, there's a more modern version.
- 18:07But then they kind of push it a little bit with things like they'll bring
- 18:11you back to a tricorder and we're like, oh, we all that.
- 18:14Yes, that's the t OS tri quarter, we know that. And a
- 18:18phaser. Okay, there's a phaser. We know that's what the phaser looks
- 18:19like. So we've got a little bit of a contrast there, because you've
- 18:23got things that you go, yes, that looks like it's supposed to and
- 18:26then you look at other things like the bridge and go, that's not right.
- 18:32So they've kind of made a it's a weird yeah. Really. At
- 18:37one point on the planet, Pike pulls out a tricorder that looks almost identical
- 18:45to the Spock tricorder from TS Yes, right, a strap on it.
- 18:49It looks like it almost looks like a Gucci square bag the woman would wear,
- 18:56you know. I mean it's got the flip up lid on it.
- 18:59I mean you look down at it, you know, when it's over your
- 19:00whole you know, it's just it's very fashionable. Yeah, but Chad,
- 19:06the turbo lifts do look normal. But here's the problem with the turbo lifts.
- 19:11They all have those handles on there that they're supposed to grip when they
- 19:15use them. No one does. Yeah. Oh okay, well since we're
- 19:22now on the main topic. This brings me to a point that I was
- 19:23like, okay, now now you've you've broken it. Now when is it
- 19:30or take us? That's who the Yeah, okay, how does she activate
- 19:36the computer without saying computer? Yeah, it's just there. It's like it's
- 19:41always listening, like uh actually Google always it's yeah exactly. But It's like
- 19:48it was a multiple times she's like calling out and just talking to the air,
- 19:51and suddenly the computer starts answering. I'm like, that's not how it's
- 19:53supposed to work, right, You're supposed to say computer, you know,
- 19:57blah blah blah, or you know, hold onto the thing and go deck
- 20:00six or something like that. So and Facebook user who whom I don't know
- 20:07who you are. No, I'm not in prison. I'm in a basement
- 20:10because um, well that's the quiet place in my house at the moment.
- 20:17And so I do. I do have the two sentenced log line among the
- 20:22lowdest theaters. It says, returning to a planet that dredges up a tragic
- 20:26memories, Captain Pike and his landing party find themselves forgetting everything, including their
- 20:30identities, as he confronts a ghost from his past. I mean that's accurate,
- 20:37that's what happens. So yeah, yes, I don't like the setup
- 20:41for why they were what happened the last time they were here. Now,
- 20:45now keep in mind, this is um this is cannon them having been here
- 20:52before this barbaric race or whatever this happened in the in the very first TuS
- 20:59pilot whatever ever. Yeah, the menagerie, the cage, the cage.
- 21:03Yeah, yeah, so where they visited this planet and they either a had
- 21:07a problem or be contaminated. I can't remember exactly what happened when they were
- 21:11there before. But the problem is with this setup of what of them being
- 21:15there before having not been there long enough to have experienced the issues with memory.
- 21:21They were only there for four and a half hours. Since when does
- 21:25an away team go down to a planet without knowing anything about it, not
- 21:30knowing what's there, but also have multiple cases of rifles and medical equipment.
- 21:37Since when have we seen in a way team go down somewhere and he actually
- 21:41take cases of stuff out and out of the shuttlecraft? Like never, never
- 21:47have I ever been there setting something up and they've been there for a long
- 21:51time that we see cases show up or get beamed down or whatever. Yeah.
- 21:55Oh yeah, No, there's there's all sorts of plot holes in this.
- 21:57Yeah, that's a huge I love this scene though. By the way,
- 22:00she's so happy, she's she's got the hat. Yeah, ortegas,
- 22:07Yeah, and she just gets shot down and she's walking with the three of
- 22:11them. The three of them were walking up to Pike and to Spock and
- 22:12she's all excited to ready to go to the party. She gets to be
- 22:18in the landing party. Now, this is another plot hole that actually gets
- 22:21filled later, right when she's talking in her log and she's talking to herself
- 22:26and says, I'm Mortega and I fly the ship. Like it sounds so
- 22:30stupid and bubbly, like why would you leave that in your personal log to
- 22:34yourself? But they fill it in later and just re hash it. I
- 22:41suppose. So Daryl said the writers forgot like the characters did accurate. I
- 22:52mean the Facebook. This Facebook user says, the shuttle had the equipment.
- 22:56Of course, the shuttle has the equipment on it. But you're there for
- 22:59four and a half hours and you took all the equipment out of the shuttlecraft.
- 23:03Maybe the shuttle crashed or got destroyed it somehow. Yeah, I guess
- 23:07there's a lot of I guess there's a few explanations there. It just didn't
- 23:11It seemed pretty loose. It seemed pretty loose, accu Yeah, when this
- 23:14guy, the guy who was stuck on the planet first showed up, I
- 23:17honestly thought it was that actor from Spider Man, the guy who plays Flash
- 23:22Oh. Yeah. Yeah. Really, For a hot second, I was
- 23:25like, is that him? Oh that's funny. That would have been hilarious
- 23:29if it was. Yeah, they really should do things like that, just
- 23:33take like B or C level actors from major, major movies and just throw
- 23:38them in as why not? Yeah, why not? I mean they already
- 23:41did it really with Discovery. Yeah. I did not like him from the
- 23:47second I saw him. Yeah, I don't know why King like Burger King.
- 23:52Yeah he did with that with that crown on his head on that did
- 24:00look with the cloak around, Yeah he does. He looks like Burger King.
- 24:06That's pretty good. He's like, you'll have it my way, You'll
- 24:11have it my way. I do like, um, did someone say they
- 24:18wanted a whopper? I came from Chaine. Demon uh. And So for
- 24:22those of you who are listening to the podcast, if you're not following along
- 24:26on the YouTube, by the way, sometimes you're missing some of this commentary
- 24:30that gets thrown up on the screen or some of the images. So we
- 24:32do apologize. There's always a little bit of a trick trying to relate back
- 24:34to the audio version versus the video version. All that, so I would
- 24:38suggest you listen to one watch watch the other. Do both throughout the week.
- 24:41It's fun, right and like and subscribe? Yep, like and subscribe.
- 24:45Wow, what do you know, that's the first time we ever like
- 24:48have said that about YouTube. I want to know who this Facebook user is.
- 24:56Oh my gosh, that's hilarious. I want to see Gentry as the
- 25:00Goblin and Spider Man. Hey, honey, I'm home. He's already got
- 25:03the shirt. Is wearing this orange Hawaiian hot shirt. That's right, that's
- 25:14right. Fashion nice, nice, very good. Oh, I know who
- 25:19the Facebook user is chattington I swear that's Dan. Is this Dan? He's
- 25:29driving somewhere and it's Dan. It's Dan. I just checked. Oh,
- 25:33of course he's been found out. He's been found out. Yeah, his
- 25:41wife must be driving at the moment and he can't help but join he's going.
- 25:51All right. So getting back to this episode, uh Alandre says,
- 25:56I always do both wash it while eating breakfast and relistening while gardening. That's
- 26:00a good routine. Yeah, that's a good routine. You are awesome.
- 26:03Would you grow in your garden? Yeah? What do you grow? Waiting
- 26:11to respond, uh Tash says, what is it? Oh? I thought
- 26:15he was cosplaying red Is from More just the new plaque. Hey, I've
- 26:22met the woman. I'll do it. I'll take it. That's fine.
- 26:23Chat as he's making his wife do the chat. That's correct. He's driving
- 26:27and he's making his wife type up. Yeah yeah, and it's not Dan,
- 26:33it's land Bombardo right. Oh this is good. Oh man, this
- 26:41is what makes it show great. We don't even have to talk about Star
- 26:44Trek, which is make fun of each other the whole time. I mean,
- 26:49so, Danny Geeks did quite an extensive list of Easter eggs from this
- 26:53episode. Oh yeah, yeah, there's a lot of them. They all
- 26:59of course back to the cage because that's really what this is a direct link
- 27:03to. But they even mentioned how in in the cage, um number one
- 27:07is piloting the enterprise. So that's why she later says, hey, I
- 27:11flew this before you. Yeah. Yeah, so yeah, that kind of
- 27:15thing, which then is a plot hole because then, yeah, Erica could
- 27:18have gone down. Yeah yeah, yeah, they do this themselves. I
- 27:26don't know, Oh yeah they do. It does look like a medieval warrior
- 27:30with the blast, because that's basically what they were going for. Now.
- 27:33The other issue I have with this though, is they this what was alien
- 27:41race called? Again, it's not the Kaison but starts the Larbarites. Yeah,
- 27:47the Larbertes, they just ar, they just lap. Yeah, um,
- 27:51they they don't look like that in the cage. They actually look like
- 27:56aliens with funny teeth. They look more like Klingons actually than anything else,
- 28:00not humans. And these guys just look like humans. Didn't even bother doing
- 28:03any prosthetics anything different, just straight up straight up humans. All right,
- 28:14Dan's gone, He's leaving us a little Yeah, yeah, that's fine.
- 28:17Yeah. Um, I really liked this episode. I thought it was a
- 28:22lot of fun. Yeah. Yeah, when I was watching, you know,
- 28:26as I suffer for the people with Will Wheaton. Um, they did
- 28:30mention that the costume designs were based off Mongolian warriors, like that was the
- 28:34inspiration. Yeah, it's not a direct one from one, but I can
- 28:37see it. Oh yeah for sure, Yeah very much. What did you
- 28:44think about, by the way, with Captain Battel that was the other cap
- 28:51the female captain, Yeah yeah, his his love interest. Yeah yeah,
- 28:56which we've seen in other episodes that she's shown up before, oh lots of
- 29:00times. Obviously. She was apparently punished for for not I guess convicting him
- 29:06or something, not convicting Una, yeah Una rather yeah, oh ty jay,
- 29:11that's one hundred percent right. We still have a musical to go.
- 29:14Yep, yeah, that's I forgot about that. Oh that's gonna be a
- 29:18separate episode from the crossover, isn't it. Yeah, well, maybe we
- 29:25don't don't put those two is I don't know, that could be crazy fun,
- 29:30who knows. I hope not. Um, but that's that's that's probably
- 29:33one more stinker than the musical. I guess it depends. Yeah, I
- 29:40don't know. I'm not a musical kind of fan. But but now here's
- 29:42something Look at this image, right, here's something that really threw me for
- 29:45a loop and it took me a while to realize what was going on.
- 29:48But while on the ship and he has his memories, Pike's hair is going
- 29:52one way while on the planet, Like right there, his hair is going
- 29:56the other. How the hell does that happen? And why? Yeah,
- 30:00at that point, what's the point of that? A little bit of a
- 30:03continuity issue there, I don't I don't understand, Like, literally, his
- 30:06hair is going the opposite way while he's on the planet. It's like a
- 30:08mood ering. It indicates his sadness. His hair points towards Yeah, that's
- 30:15right, I forgot who I am. Yeah, we're gonna make Gentry choke
- 30:26on something. Well. I actually I was laughing because I could imagine what
- 30:30it would be the situation when his hair is standing straight up. So oh
- 30:34no, yeah, yeah maybe maybe damon. Yeah, I was wondering,
- 30:44demon. I was wondering the same thing as whether or not they reversed it.
- 30:47Um, you know when they when they you know that you film something
- 30:51or a camera and it's backward. I wondered if it was the same thing.
- 30:53But that picture that we were just looking at, I mean, his
- 30:56hair is it's pretty wacko. Yeah, yeah, that's one. It's it's
- 31:02that doesn't even look like his hair would have been if it were reversed.
- 31:04I think, right, yeah, I'm not really Well, he's got his
- 31:10sides shaved pretty close in this episode, which I guess they're always like that,
- 31:15But I just didn't really notice it until I noticed the Harry shoe fling
- 31:18back and forth, and then especially on Ortega's hair. They it wasn't just
- 31:26shaved, it was like razors shaved clean no hair at all around her ears
- 31:30and around the back. Yeah, welcome to fashion Cast. Fashion Cast,
- 31:34this is cosmetology cast. Yeah yeah, styles with Chad. They did talk
- 31:45about Pike's peak in uh in the Will Wheaton Show. Yeah, you could
- 31:51totally tell Anson mountains just like whatever, dude. Yeah, yeah, he
- 31:56doesn't care. Yeah, forgot how to fix his own hair. Yeah.
- 32:01Probably that's a good point, Darryl. Maybe a comba is in standard issue
- 32:07the boxes they Yeah, you forgot how to use it, spotic comb Yeah,
- 32:16god probably. I do, though, like the backstory of this race.
- 32:22I do like the backstory of how they got to where they are,
- 32:25the problems that they have, right, the forgetting and all that the forgetting
- 32:29the radiation from the stone Um which is which crashed on the planet, plus
- 32:34the rocks in the astra. I thought that was I thought that was really
- 32:37clever. And I like the scene where Spock and or take it are like,
- 32:40Okay, we need to pull away from the planet. Let's get let's
- 32:43go through the asteroids or to the other side of the asteroids and see if
- 32:46that'll shield us, and it just gets worse. Yeah. Oh that actually
- 32:51brought up something that I actually took a note about that. When I was
- 32:53watching the Chokes, I thought, you know, this is really kind of
- 32:57different for them because they didn't take the easy out that they could have that
- 33:01they've done in other shows where everyone is affected except one person like Spock,
- 33:08or one person is the one and that's the person who saves everybody, and
- 33:14they didn't do that this time. No, they had everybody affected by it,
- 33:19including you know, Spok, who had this brilliant idea give everybody their
- 33:22pads to remind them who they are, and then they forget how to read.
- 33:29Yeah, yeah, I was like, I thought that was I thought
- 33:32that was excellent how they did that, And it really just came down to
- 33:37it just came down to their instincts. Well, what was great about that
- 33:40is it came down to their instincts, and it came down to their gut
- 33:44feeling, because while it does affect your memory, it can't get rid of
- 33:49emotions. Well, Spok doesn't have any emotions, or at least they're buried
- 33:52down pretty deep, right, so he's affected the worst out of everybody,
- 33:57whereas normally the Vulcans are kind of less impacted, unless, of course,
- 34:00it's enterprise. What was that season one or season two and they're going through
- 34:06the the Delphic Expanse or whatever that was called, and all the Vulcans turned
- 34:09into raging mad lunatics. Yeah oh yeah yeah. But anyway, so I
- 34:15thought it was great. They needed they needed hooked on phonics. Yeah,
- 34:20Tea Bear didn't have a Jeffrey comb for Pike's hair. That was just that's
- 34:23that is That is perfection right there. Yeah, pretty spot on. Yeah,
- 34:30that is. I mean, overall, it was a good episode.
- 34:30I enjoyed it. I just have nitpicky things about it, as always.
- 34:34But yeah, I think it again that we're not I like it again that
- 34:38we're serialized or is that is that the right term? Where we're you know,
- 34:42everything's capitulated into one episode as opposed to continuing on and on and again.
- 34:45That's nice. Get in, tell the story, get out. I
- 34:50like that. Yeah, makes a good point. Yeah, I says this
- 34:54episode held the attention more than the previous three. Yeah. I I totally
- 34:58agree with that. It's more of what we expected from before. It's you
- 35:01know, yeah, it's a strange new world, even though they've been there
- 35:05before. For us, it's a strange new world. We get to explore
- 35:07a new, a new everything, and it was good and it used it
- 35:14used Pike finally as a main character, but it also still used Benga and
- 35:17law on Um for what they're there for. I mean, I thought that
- 35:21was funny that he picked out the two of them because he needed warriors to
- 35:23go with him, and um Benga was upset by that. Yeah. Yeah,
- 35:28it's like, I'm just want to be a doctor. Stop putting me
- 35:30these positions where I gotta kill people. That really makes sense. Passion is
- 35:36yeah, yeah, yeah. I thought the kind of like a little side
- 35:39note, I thought the acting on this was really good in terms of the
- 35:43memory with a memory loss in the cage on the first day, where they're
- 35:46you know, they're showing you know, totally you know, freaked out that
- 35:51these people are there. They don't know who they are, and I know
- 35:52it's all this acting one on one stuff, but I thought they really did
- 35:55a good job with that. This scene right here where they're walking around in
- 35:59the hall way and everyone's just confused. That like the guy in the corner
- 36:04just like terrified because he doesn't know what's going on. Yeah, I thought
- 36:07that was really good. And well, this is a good I was gonna
- 36:13say, the person in the background rocking that uh what that? I can't
- 36:15remember what that uniform is called with a little skirt, Oh yeah, um
- 36:20and heels apparently what everyone looks like just kind of stared at the wall like
- 36:24that's pretty Yeah. It highlights a stark difference between Discovery and Strange New Worlds.
- 36:35Really, not just from the not just the writing and everything else,
- 36:39but the character development and the acting ability of the cast. Yeah, the
- 36:45cast is actually able to perform, you know, the roles that are set
- 36:52out for them, whereas we don't. We didn't really get that in Discovery.
- 36:54Even Burnham wasn't able to necessarily act. Sometimes she could, um,
- 37:00but I don't think they gave her because Nico Martin Green is an excellent actress,
- 37:06But I just don't think they gave her anything to work with other than
- 37:08a few scenes. Nothing, nothing meaty, right, So whereas here they're
- 37:14giving them a lot of meat on the bone, and the actors and actresses
- 37:16that are playing these characters are actually able to deliver. So well, it's
- 37:22what we talked about, right, It's it's the whole difference of show don't
- 37:23Tell. Whereas Discovery, actors have a lot of declarative statements, but we
- 37:29don't see them pursuing their goals. We just see them saying what their goals
- 37:32are. Oh yeah, that's true. Yeah, Whereas in this show,
- 37:38like in Mega, right, he talks about he he doesn't want to be
- 37:40a soldier, but then you see him sad about it, and you see
- 37:44him like take the that that drug to be a fighter, and he's like
- 37:47very just I don't know, hesitant about it, right, yeah, right,
- 37:52but he also knows that he uses it. So like you see that
- 37:54reluctance, right, It's a it's a struggle, right, Y's the internal
- 37:59struggle of who do I want to be versus who am I really right in
- 38:02that right that specific case? Right, So we see those differences, right.
- 38:07You know it's so interesting because you just said that and you made me
- 38:09think about how many times in Discovery I heard the phrase we are star fleet.
- 38:15Yeah, these statements of what we are and what we believe in and
- 38:19all this stuff, as opposed to strange new worlds. They just get out
- 38:22there and do stuff, right, Um, and Scott, I really hope
- 38:27that you're kidding about not having seen the ts episodes that these are callbacks of.
- 38:30That's got to be a joke, I hope. So yeah, yeah,
- 38:37yeah, Paramount Kid, Yeah yeah. I mean for some people,
- 38:45they haven't seen um t us episodes or wouldn't know some of these these callbacks.
- 38:50So that's true, I think, And it's nice that you can watch
- 38:52them and not have the background, but I think it's nice to have.
- 38:55It's almost like, you know, it's like the Easter eggs, they're gifts
- 38:59for the fans. Yeah, sure to say, oh, I remember that,
- 39:01I know about that thing. I do wish they had done like remember
- 39:07that one episode of Discovery where they did like previously on stur Trek and it
- 39:09was like a big call back to the original. Oh yeah, if they've
- 39:15done something like that with this, that would have been kind of cool.
- 39:16Yeah, that would have been cool. Yeah, and they could have.
- 39:21Um, why is Lawn not super strong anymore? Yeah? This whole season.
- 39:27Yeah, she doesn't have anywhere near the quote unquote strength that she had
- 39:30in the last season. Because in the last season, you remember her actually
- 39:34fighting against Una and they were kind of on par with one another one on
- 39:37one, and UNA's supposedly super strong. She's augmented. Right, So she's
- 39:42genetically modified. I'll put it that way. Um in Lawn has carry over
- 39:45of the of them of being Una law On Vega and Chapel if they take
- 39:54their juice right. Yeah, yeah, yeah, so yeah, I don't
- 40:00get why they've lessened her her strength in this entire season, but they really
- 40:06have underplayed that. I don't understand what the purpose of that is. Yeah,
- 40:12rewriting backwriting that, so she seems more normal, I don't know.
- 40:15Yeah, you were talking earlier chat about the actors. Something that I think
- 40:21is pretty cool about UM Strangely Worlds is that we have one or two.
- 40:28So we've got one actress who Rebecca who is I mean she has done movies
- 40:34and TVs. I mean she is. She is superstar. You know,
- 40:38she's phenomenal. So you expect her to come with an a game already with
- 40:45Christopher Pike, with him as he had acting experience, he had done a
- 40:52good amount of stuff, so you're like, Okay, he can carry it.
- 40:55But we've got a whole bunch of folks that we've never seen before or
- 41:00don't really know much about, and like or the person who plays Ortegas,
- 41:05and they are knocking it out of the park. Oh yeah, yeah.
- 41:08My hope is is that And I don't know because I haven't heard anything that
- 41:15shows this, but my hope is, and I think I think I would
- 41:19be able to say this for Rebecca remains stainless. I mean, she's a
- 41:21class act period, right, Yes, I would think that she would be
- 41:24there as a mentor for some of these young actors and actresses, helping them
- 41:28with their scenes or minds if they if they need it, or giving them
- 41:30advice if they need it. Um And the same thing with antson Mount.
- 41:34I feel I feel like he's the kind of guy who was definitely a class
- 41:37act and would be more than welcome or more than happy to help somebody with
- 41:40that. So, you know, all tides rise kind of situation. You
- 41:44got those clue right there, The remains that that can lift everything else else
- 41:49up around it and help if they need it. I don't know if they
- 41:52do or not. I have no idea. They all seem to be doing
- 41:53a fantastic job though. Yeah, Tye, I agree, that's casting the
- 41:57show light years ahead of Discovery. Like I'm sorry, I'm one of those
- 42:00people that really likes Discovery. I do. I mean, I know it
- 42:05has problems, but yeah, I like the concept. I liked going somewhere
- 42:09we hadn't been before, doing things that were different and reimagining. I really
- 42:13like that aspect of it. Um. Doug Jones fantastic. He's just,
- 42:20oh my word, the man, and he is he is a fanboy.
- 42:23You know, we saw him at convention. He he is just he is
- 42:29phenomenal. Um. But you know, you look back to Next Gen and
- 42:34with Next Generation, you know you had Patrick Stewart who had been in tons
- 42:38of stuff, but it was stage. It wasn't you know, it was
- 42:43theater. It wasn't a TV so who who knows? Um, all I
- 42:47can say is, hey, we got Jonathan Frakes is one hell of a
- 42:50director out of it. So um, if nothing else, but yeah,
- 42:54you know I've said this before Discovery. The cast isn't the problem. They're
- 42:58all very talented. It's just a material they've been given. Yeah, you
- 43:02know, yeah, that's that's been the issue and half the fun. That's
- 43:07right, Bronson, just the same thing I just said, yeah, exactly,
- 43:08that's is amazing that the writing is bad, exactly right, exactly right.
- 43:13Yeah. Yeah, And oh, by the way, you might want
- 43:17to mention the discord with the server for people to join in. I noticed
- 43:22a couple of new folks have joined lately. Oh that's right, yep,
- 43:24yep, yeah. We do have a We post random stuff in there sometimes
- 43:30we do. Yeah, And frankly you do, uh Daniels the man on
- 43:36Instagram? Yea with correct cast, you've got if you like the memes,
- 43:39Oh my word, go for it. You got to be there and see
- 43:42it. And on Facebook there's a face. Man. He's just pimping everything
- 43:47he is. He's doing good. He got the coffee account Kofi coffee accounts
- 43:54as well. You can also always go to treckcast dot com. And don't
- 43:58forget about Chad's voice. But that phone number, I'd have to look it
- 44:02up. Yeah, I gotta look it up too, otherwise I'd tell you
- 44:06the wrong number. Um, I'll tell you here in a second, because
- 44:08it's in my That phone number is eight one six two eight seven zero four
- 44:15four eight eight one six two eight seven zero four or four eight. Operators
- 44:20are not standing by. I will not answer the phone. I will not
- 44:23call you back, although if you leave a funny enough voicemail, I might
- 44:28And which roll funny is that you should call and leave a message because a
- 44:32lot of times I've noticed that Chad doesn't always listen to them before he plays
- 44:37them. All. No, no, I'm hearing them for the first time
- 44:42when they're on air, So you never know what we're gonna get there,
- 44:45you go, So I better go look now and make sure I haven't looked.
- 44:50Yeah, let's get to feedback. Yeah yeah, hey, all right,
- 45:02so brought in a question speaking of Easter eggs. Did you all think
- 45:07that the Cap and crew spending the night in the actual cage is a call
- 45:10back to the cage? Well, yeah, I mean certainly a good reference
- 45:15to it, that for sure. Yeah, they probably said that, Well,
- 45:19if we called that episode the cage, we should have cages. There
- 45:21should be one somewhere. Yeah, exactly, look a cage. Oh okay,
- 45:25good, we've done our job, Thank you, good night, everybody.
- 45:27That's funny. I went on a whiteboard somewhere for sure. Oh,
- 45:34oh, for sure. They probably drew little lines one of the top to
- 45:37make a little cage. Yeah, make sure there's make sure there's a logo
- 45:42somewhere for Federation logo in the background. Cages. You know, they all
- 45:46shook his hand when he came up with the idea. Yeah, yeah,
- 45:50brilliant, sir, you just go home for the day. You just made
- 45:52me think of something. The delta in the garden. Yeah, that was
- 45:57the whole reason for all of this coming up in the first place. Yep.
- 46:01Something about that just did not ring right for me. It's okay,
- 46:07so they all forget and you're only protected if you're in the building, right
- 46:14right, But someone's going out and carving deltas in the lawn for people to
- 46:22see from space, and and then he gets mad and I told him not
- 46:28to do that. It's like, but they forgot, you told them,
- 46:30I don't, I don't. Yeah, it had to be giant. Oh
- 46:36yeah, oh yeah, right, yeah, So what I mean, one
- 46:40day they're like, you know, tribbing the head, just as they go
- 46:43along every day, just following. Well, you get your memories back once
- 46:46you're back inside the once you're back inside the castle. Oh yeah, after
- 46:51a while, so yeah, all the damage gets undone. But yeah,
- 46:55just a little sticky to me as to yeah, how that came up.
- 47:00But okay, you know, we we we got there. So Mike Medina
- 47:05has a pretty interesting question. He says, isn't it a bit weird that
- 47:07the prequel series to cos seems to be leaning on TS for storylines. Shouldn't
- 47:13strange new worlds be setting up TS lore, yeah, instead of plane off
- 47:19of it. I mean, this is the second TS prequel series we've had,
- 47:24right, because Enterprise was that as well. Yeah, yeah, an
- 47:28Enterprise did also lean a lot on TS. So yeah, I think they're
- 47:35just following that they need to. They do need to be kinding that we
- 47:38need to find some new stuff. You know. That is one thing at
- 47:40least that Discovery did. Um. It did pull out new new races,
- 47:46new situations, new planets, stuff like that. So you know, it
- 47:50might be time to go back to Planet of the Week. Um please,
- 47:54Yeah, I like that. But you know that there's a lot of creativity
- 47:58that's required of that because they've got to come up with the planet, what's
- 48:00unique about it, tell us about the people, what are they gonna look
- 48:02like? And but that's not a big buck so yeah, that's not that
- 48:07hard. Yeah. You just make a giant wheel and you spend the wheel,
- 48:13all right, they have do they have flippers Warrior races? Yeah,
- 48:20they're right right, and they just pick up one of the three main antagonist
- 48:27races they've got so far for for strange New Worlds, cling ons, umn
- 48:35oh, landed on heads. They don't like the Federation. Yeah yeah,
- 48:38well then the Federation itself is always the evil as well sometimes right, oh,
- 48:44I know, how about bad They have a wheel of books and they
- 48:46have to Okay, this society is based on what American or English book they
- 48:52found it, okay, right, take all the in another wheel that has
- 48:57all the religions in the world, and it's been that. And then whatever
- 49:00lands on using to change his name, but change his name? Yeah,
- 49:06oh yeah. The Gorn War that oh yeah, yeah, man, that
- 49:10could be a whole New Dominion war thing if they do it right. But
- 49:13they don't have enough episodes left, so that's true. That's true, not
- 49:16in this season, but I mean the Gorner just a backline, overarching thing
- 49:21from last season to this season. Still, even when we see the shot
- 49:23of Admiral April showing the borderline within the problem with the Gorn as well.
- 49:29Yeah, so all right, let's play this voicemail work quick before you have
- 49:31anybody joined them here, so make sure I get it. Greetings, forecast
- 49:38and cast listeners. It is with a heavy heart that I report today that
- 49:45one of our pac led reviewers, Rundom, suffered from a rapid cranial detonation
- 49:52and died last week while reviewing the Star Trek Strange New World episode tomorrow and
- 49:58tomorrow tomorrow. We mourn the loss of our friend. Another Planet has graciously
- 50:07offered to step in and provide us a review for this week's episode. Oh,
- 50:14without further ado, the Whack a Doodle Homeworld probably present her Strange New
- 50:22World season two episode for among the lotus eaters. Oh wait, what was
- 50:34I talking about? Whackadoodle reviews? That was good, good funny. That
- 50:50was good. Yep, that was always count on Scott for those man,
- 50:53so good, so quick, so in, so tight and perfect love that.
- 51:00And we got a lot of people waiting, so we should we should
- 51:02move along. Yeah, all right, let's strow with t Bear. There
- 51:07he is. Hey, Hey, yes, long time no talk. Yeah
- 51:14no, I actually got up early enough to um actually join the show live
- 51:17this time. So that's nice as nice. Thanks man. Yeah you're out
- 51:22there, yep. I don't the West Coast and I'm in the USS Cerritos.
- 51:29Uh it's a California Class hitty. There you go. Yea, love
- 51:35it. But yeah, I've been joining this season. Um right, there's
- 51:40a lot of picking things to do or can you pick about? And I
- 51:47think it's getting better. I think think better. Um but yeah, I
- 51:52think it's going back to writings. And I think someone said last week it
- 51:58just feels like this first four episodes like the lowest budget of all of them.
- 52:01So I'm really curious what they're saving that budget up for if they if
- 52:07they, I think you mentioned that they didn't have a budget cut, but
- 52:10it's just allocation of funding, so right, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 52:14And I'm wondering if I don't think animation costs out much, so I'm wondering
- 52:19if they're planning, like the last two episodes or something, to have some
- 52:22crazy CG budget or something. It could be, yeah, because those Goren
- 52:29CG is not cheap, so yeah, yeah, yeah, But yeah,
- 52:36that's a good point because we're definitely seeing a lot more use reuse of the
- 52:39sets that they've got, uh you know, a lot of interior like this
- 52:45with the interior shots and things like that. Um yeah, that's that's interesting.
- 52:52I wonder I hadn't really thought about it budget wise, But you're right,
- 52:54because you know, we're not seeing a lot of phaser battles, and
- 52:58which would be you know, more CGI that they require or non prosthetic aliens
- 53:02that you know do require CGI. So that's an interesting point. I haven't
- 53:07really thought about that when when they were when they're on the planet, they're
- 53:10using the new technology that the Mandalorian uses, so that reduces some costs to
- 53:16write as far as I'm assuming, Yeah, screen, yeah, yeah,
- 53:25a lot. Well. In in the in the interview on the Ready Room,
- 53:30Anson Mountain did mention that some of their budget have been freed up because
- 53:35they're no longer doing the covid um all those costs like screening and all.
- 53:40Yeah, so that that's quite a bit of budget room that can then go
- 53:44back to other things. So yeah, I just hope they reallocate some budget
- 53:50to some writing or maybe getting that Star Trek advisor, kind of like how
- 53:54Dan's always asking for a military advisor. Yeah, you need a Star Check
- 53:58advisor on the show I volunteers tribute. Yeah, no kidding a second that
- 54:04Yeah, yeah, for sure, for sure. I didn't see the preview
- 54:12for next week, so I have no idea. Did anybody see that?
- 54:15No? I didn't either, I know it's out somewhere, but yeah,
- 54:21they post I don't know where they post the actual clips, but I always
- 54:25see people doing on the Will Wheaton Show. Yeah, and then a few
- 54:32days later they posted by itself. Okay, it's usually also on YouTube.
- 54:37There's forgot what channel does that they don't post it. That's a weird like
- 54:40it sounds like they have like a cling on rap music as their intro ort.
- 54:44Yeah, there's a channel that clips it. There's a few of them
- 54:45that just clipping it out from the Will Wheaton Show. I did watch it
- 54:49yesterday, but I can't remember it, and I don't know if that's saying
- 54:52something about the clip not you had the forgetting I guess. So, Yeah,
- 55:00I shouldn't have gone so close to those asteroids. Yeah yeah, But
- 55:04who's your favorite Stranger World character? Ooh? I would have to say Lawn
- 55:13at this point really, especially after last the last episode when it was the
- 55:20rom comp scene. But as much as I was worried about that character from
- 55:25the start and where they would go with it, I think you're actually doing
- 55:30it right. Um, there's a lot of depth of the character and I
- 55:34think having that tie in isn't well they haven't screwed it up yet, But
- 55:39um, I think she's a pretty good range. And I think that's Yeah,
- 55:45maybe just because one of my favorite characters in the Expense was coming to
- 55:49drum Or too, so I don't know if that's playing a role, But
- 55:52yeah, I think you're like her character because she's the newest. Everybody else
- 55:54I know, I know who I know a number one to some extent.
- 55:59You know Pike, we know Chapel, and those are just slightly different takes
- 56:05on them. But I think Mom, just because it's something new, someone
- 56:08new. Um, she's definitely had the most character development, probably just about
- 56:15anybody, maybe except Pike. I mean, Una had a good amount last
- 56:20episode, but um, you're right, Lone, almost every episode this season
- 56:24there's been something major about. You could argue she's a more fully realized character
- 56:29even than Pike. Yes, yeah, I actually would. I agree with
- 56:32that. Yeah, and Ty I agree with you as well. Ethan Pecker's
- 56:36Spock is just he's killing man. He's great. Yeah, I'm sure what
- 56:42to think of him when they first showed up on Discovery, his hipster Spock
- 56:45with his long hair and beard and everything. But yeah, he's really done
- 56:51well. He's really done. Well, yeah, I really, honestly,
- 56:54I can't imagine him anybody else that they'd put in that now other than him,
- 56:58honestly. So right, Yeah, I think someone posted Facebook that she's
- 57:01Gregory Peck's grandson. Yeah, yeah, blew my mind. Oh yeah,
- 57:07I can see it now though. No, but now I see it,
- 57:09I'm like, oh, yeah, they're right, but yeah, I can
- 57:13see it. I was like, wow, that's probably where there's some good
- 57:16genetics, a genetics in there. A few years ago, Anton Mountain,
- 57:19he's got his own podcast, The Well, and he did an interview with
- 57:22Ethan Peck and they talk about that, and it's pretty neat to hear his
- 57:27story about his grandpa and all that. Yeah, I only listened to this
- 57:30podcast. I'm such a loyal listener. I'm checkout. I've got to send
- 57:35you your stuff. I keep thinking about it, and I keep forgetting for
- 57:37winning this stuff. The Jeopardy. Oh still haven't sent him is winning?
- 57:44He got too close to the planet t Bear Sorry, Yeah, yeah,
- 57:47I didn't forgot about it too. Yeah, I've got the boxes and everything.
- 57:52I just got to do it. Yeah, all right, anything else,
- 57:58We've got a few people, So thanks keep it up, and hopefully
- 58:01I get up early enough to get the rest of the live shows, and
- 58:06hopefully I'll see you guys in Vegas. All right, yeah, see there,
- 58:09all right, we got chatz musin as well, and then on day
- 58:15you got strong birds, so let's get chats us. Oh wow, there
- 58:19is in the darkness, and yeah, well I have plenty of light to
- 58:22share. Let's see three. There's four, actually there's four, well the
- 58:36reflections from the door, I think, or maybe that's another. I don't
- 58:38know, but there's four in the ceiling. I can see four in the
- 58:42night. What's right? Forget it? This has suddenly become like Dorothy Explorer.
- 58:50What do you see on the screen? Can you see the lights?
- 58:54Let's them prison here is doing? They still got the still got the prison
- 59:02uniform from the Fugitive Rock and the Treck cast hat love it. By the
- 59:08way, don't forget cast merchandise five stars on Facebook or on iTunes, on
- 59:19Spotify. Yeah yeah, right them on Spotify. That's all the things.
- 59:25Yeah yeah, yeah. What reminds me I haven't looked to see what our
- 59:30what our latest charitable numbers are. I'll look at that. Go ahead,
- 59:32Yeah, that's what's going on with you? Well, I'm just wondering,
- 59:37how would you guys feel if this season became was aired before a hard season,
- 59:47this was season and then yeah, oh um, your feelings changed or
- 59:53would you be like, oh no, hm hmm, would you be considered
- 59:58as concerned? I'm so Picard ended so strong. I mean, that was
- 1:00:07just like one of the best endings of a of a season. It just
- 1:00:14it was it completed so many things for all of us. Um, yeah,
- 1:00:20you almost kind of needed a palate cleanser after that. And I guess
- 1:00:22that's kind of where Strange New world fits in, because it's going to start
- 1:00:27something completely different, even though it's not completely different. Um, I don't
- 1:00:32know. That's that's a that's a really interesting question. And I'll bet somebody
- 1:00:37at Paramount was you know, had some serious discussions about that as terms of,
- 1:00:40you know, what order we do this in. Yeah, I think
- 1:00:45I'd still feel the same way about how Strange New Worlds has started versus last
- 1:00:51year, regardless of Picard coming out when it did. In fact, it
- 1:00:55had Piccard not aired at all, and this just a you know, having
- 1:01:00left over from last season's Strange World I'd probably even more disappointed. M yeah,
- 1:01:07because the first two episodes were just that bad. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:01:10yeah, And I wonder about his Pike's girlfriend is like, I know she's
- 1:01:17a captain, but then she's like a jag officer where she's a lawyer too,
- 1:01:22and she's whatever they need her to be. Yeah, like a jack
- 1:01:25of all trades. It is like, well, yeah, she's a utility
- 1:01:28player of starfleet apparently. Well, she's trying to get a promotion too,
- 1:01:31apparently, so she's doing promotion and then there's no like she can travel anywhere
- 1:01:37in the galaxy too super fast. She's right, yeah, exactly, And
- 1:01:43that kind of confuses me because they're supposed to be in kind of deep space
- 1:01:47right now exploring. But she comes back and pops like at the beginning episode
- 1:01:53and the end of the episode. So that's well. And I wonder how
- 1:01:58much we'll see of this love interest really, because like is she gonna die?
- 1:02:04Because no, no, no, just like, is it really a
- 1:02:07storyline you want to keep following? Well, the thing not really. He
- 1:02:10falls in love with the lady in the cage, right, and yeah,
- 1:02:15is the spot tikes her. It takes Pike to the planet so well,
- 1:02:21for those of you that don't know the actress that plays this this lady Um
- 1:02:25Pike's love interest is also there's also why RB yeah from the sci Fi Channel.
- 1:02:31Have you seen her in letter Kenny? No, No, it's on
- 1:02:36Hulu and she's she's the McMurphy's on there. And if you've seen them,
- 1:02:39they're like a couple. Melanie next, so you Melanie Grafano is her name.
- 1:02:47Okay, Oh, they can afford, they can afford more actors.
- 1:02:52They're just trying to throw ranches into this relationship because I think they're gonna kill
- 1:02:54her. Yeah. I think she's gonna be the fim fatal. Something's gonna
- 1:03:00happen. It's gonna hurt Pike. Yeah, because he really likes her.
- 1:03:04And then because he's got to meet the lady in the cage anyways, so
- 1:03:07we know that it's true relationship. Yeah. I love Howlejandra was talking about
- 1:03:15how Alejandra loves the eyeshadow lie liner that lawn wears, and I was like,
- 1:03:20oh, yeah, I hadn't really I didn't think about that, but
- 1:03:22you're right, hers is different than just what everybody else's. Yeah, always
- 1:03:25dug goth girls, So I can kick your ass you know Daniel's type.
- 1:03:32Now, by the way, I see in Facebook where I posted her music
- 1:03:37video. Yeah, really, it's great. I had no idea she was
- 1:03:42doing that. Yeah, no, no, she's been doing it for a
- 1:03:45while. She yeah, yeah, because you think she's like thirty nine or
- 1:03:51something. So oh so she's not the how she's hiding it? Well?
- 1:03:54Yeah, I was like, she's thirty nine years old and she's looks really
- 1:03:58good for her age. So yeah, what's her? The girl? Was
- 1:04:02it Jess Bush that plays Chapel? Yeah? She does uh murals? Really?
- 1:04:09Yeah, she posts pictures of her murals every now and though. So
- 1:04:13did you did you? Did you pick that up gentry what Jazz just said?
- 1:04:15I mean it was almost offensive. I didn't. She looks good for
- 1:04:20age, young dude, Okay, yeah, hey, Hollywood will put these
- 1:04:28actresses out the pasture? How they how they do things? I know how
- 1:04:32they are. They're evil? Yeah, anything else you want to bring up
- 1:04:39jazz biz before you cancel yourself. I can't even tell you how long ago
- 1:04:44thirty nine was because I can't even math that fast in my head. What
- 1:04:50do you have? Forty heads? Who cares? Yeah? You quick count?
- 1:04:56Let me tell you fifty you really go, who cares you were a
- 1:05:01fifty year? Like, I don't give a shit whatever, whatever it's gonna
- 1:05:06happen one day. Yeah, I just don't understand how this planet works.
- 1:05:15If nobody knows what their role is and what they're doing owing in the castle,
- 1:05:18they know, well, they have the helmets on, they protect them
- 1:05:21to remember the helmets. It was so weird. It's like all these pieces
- 1:05:27made out of that or yeah. Yeah, Doug mekes a good point.
- 1:05:30He already has met the lady in the cage. That's right. He met
- 1:05:32her in Discovery. Yeah, that's right. But he's got to meet her
- 1:05:35again. So he's gotta he has a forgetting. He forgot about her,
- 1:05:45and so Spot's gonna take her. And will that be the last episode of
- 1:05:48Voyager a Yager? Yes, yeah, Janeway will go back in time take
- 1:05:56him to that's the planet. Yeah. I love how play. I want
- 1:06:00to see ortegas um go and get a piece of the Ore or whatever it
- 1:06:04is it surrounds the planet and just like keep it in a in a in
- 1:06:09a steel box or something, and every time she gets in trouble for something,
- 1:06:12she just opens up the box to her you know, they forget what
- 1:06:15happened, what exactly. And it was weird too that it affected the ship.
- 1:06:19I know, they're like, I guess deflector shield was off or something,
- 1:06:24but it was weird that it affected the crew just because they're around the
- 1:06:28planet. Well, at the end of the episode they said that Spot had
- 1:06:32to do something different with the shields to keep that radiation out right or whatever
- 1:06:40it was, and then right Spot fixed it. It's good. Yeah,
- 1:06:45that's pretty much. Yeah, that's the logic of this show is Spot fix
- 1:06:50it. Don't worry, We're done. Yeah, yeah, Scott, Yeah,
- 1:06:56Spox fixed it. Magic Blood. Yeah. Other issue I have with
- 1:06:59it is these episodes are really really long, and I think these episodes would
- 1:07:03be tighter if they shortened it, maybe to forty two minutes forty two minutes
- 1:07:08like their series, because you'd have a tighter episode and you could edit it.
- 1:07:14I'm grand second. I went every second of Really Trek, I can
- 1:07:19get so if they're going to drag it, I'd rather have it a little
- 1:07:23bit fast paced, get to the point, and then well it was a
- 1:07:27it was a slow episode on purpose. Um, you know, but but
- 1:07:31I get what you're saying. It was it was a little bit um slow
- 1:07:35in certain scenes. Yeah, for sure. It's reminded me of of the
- 1:07:42Orville season three, where the episode over an hour, and in the Orvial
- 1:07:47season three, he just felt so long. That dragged. Yeah, it
- 1:07:51dragged, because that's the thing is like, if you're over an hour,
- 1:07:55you had to fill that hour with writing and other stuff. Yeah. And
- 1:08:00oh, I found a looks like a log line for next week's episode.
- 1:08:04Okay. It's called Charades, and it says a shuttle accident leads to Spoks
- 1:08:11vulcan DNA being removed by aliens, making him fully human and completely unprepared to
- 1:08:16face the Pring's family, so hijinks. Yeah, so it's like that would
- 1:08:30be fun. Yeah. Haven't we been here done that already? Yeah,
- 1:08:32we've done it once before season Yeah. Yeah, I checked it. It's
- 1:08:36season two, episode five, and I thought that too the first time I
- 1:08:41read it. Okay, Oh boy, I was sorry the musical episode.
- 1:08:45I'm dreading that one because I hate musicals. So no, no, all
- 1:08:49right, wait a minute, I know, I know, I know what's
- 1:08:51gonna happen. There's gonna be a transporter accident and Spok is gonna be split
- 1:08:58into two people. He's gonna be human, he's gonna be vulcan. People
- 1:09:04comes out of nowhere, time traveling. He decides that they have to kill
- 1:09:08them in order to survive. She's gonna say, we have to kill them
- 1:09:13both. We have to be sure. Yeah, we're gonna play that music.
- 1:09:15But no, no, no, He's like, I finally have a
- 1:09:21chance to make something right. Instead of putting one person back into two,
- 1:09:26I'm putting two people back into one. The circle is I'm making two people
- 1:09:30into none. Yeah. I would watch that episode. I really would watch
- 1:09:41that episode. Ye, so entertaining. Alright, oh my words. All
- 1:09:55right, and finally we got strong Beard finally last, but not least right.
- 1:10:03Yeah, Oh my goodness, Chaz Biz, I got something to say
- 1:10:08to you about age. I am not old, even though I just and
- 1:10:13this is a true story. Two days ago got fitted for bifocals. So
- 1:10:17yeah, yeah, Gentry, how are you doing? Man? Good to
- 1:10:21see you, man, good to see you. Yeah. I don't think
- 1:10:25we've been face to face since Chicago. That's right. Yeah, it's funny
- 1:10:30because you're talking about bifocals. I've now gotten to the point where I can't
- 1:10:34read my phone without glasses now, right, Yeah, getting to that point
- 1:10:38too, So yeah, it's coming. I'm only forty four, so I'm
- 1:10:43one of the younger old ones. Yeah. Once you hit it's it's not
- 1:10:48a joke. You hit forty and something just goes off just a little bit.
- 1:10:53And as time goes on, like when you hit fifty, y're like,
- 1:10:56oh crap, I can't get away with it anymore. I have to
- 1:10:59now have glasses to look at stuff. Yeah. Yeah, it happens slowly.
- 1:11:02You're right when it when you hit forty, it's like you start squinting.
- 1:11:05Now my vision is the same. It's fine. I'm good. I
- 1:11:09don't need Advisor yet. I guess I'm get an oil filter from the from
- 1:11:15the garage, right. So um, yeah, Chad, that uh that
- 1:11:23whackadodle review was for you. Yeah. I hope everybody. I hope everybody
- 1:11:29else got that. So yeah, But as far as um and Gentry,
- 1:11:34don't I have not seen all the episodes of the original series. Um,
- 1:11:41at least I'm not sure if I have, because I remember watching some of
- 1:11:45them when I was a little bit younger. Um, but I don't,
- 1:11:47you know, I don't. It's not like I you know, I've got
- 1:11:50certain things of original serious that I stuff that I I have and stuff like
- 1:11:58that phasers put this away. But I am familiar with the original series and
- 1:12:06um, but no, I mean i'd be curious from all the Treck cast
- 1:12:12people maybe on Facebook, if they've seen every episode of the original series.
- 1:12:16Now, I'm a die Hyde Star Trek fan, and I've seen every single
- 1:12:20episode of every other series more than three or four times. Maybe save for
- 1:12:27the newer stuff, I haven't seen every newer episode more than once. Um,
- 1:12:31but you know, Deep Space nine, Voyager Enterprise, Um, I've
- 1:12:36watched each one of those series. Next Generation, I've watched each one of
- 1:12:40those series at least a half a dozen times. Yeah, And that's one
- 1:12:44of the things I like about Trek is that you can go back even if
- 1:12:48you know what's going to happen. You know, even if you remember the
- 1:12:51storyline, you can still go through it and watch it anyway. Now,
- 1:12:54I'm old enough that I watched t os in the original res in the seventies.
- 1:13:01Um, and when that when it was coming on, and then that's
- 1:13:05where my love of it started. I Mean, I remember the excitement over
- 1:13:10a Star Trek movie being made okay for the first time ever. Of course,
- 1:13:15you know, it's like wow, Grandpa. I also remember when Star
- 1:13:20Wars came out, the original and we had never seen lasers on screen before.
- 1:13:26No one had ever seen that. No one had ever done that before,
- 1:13:30blaster you know shots and lightsabers thing, no one had ever done that
- 1:13:34before. So it was an incredible thing to see. And Star Trek the
- 1:13:39motion picture, I mean, it was just, you know, it was
- 1:13:44a geek's dream that this movie happened. So yeah, that's that's how I
- 1:13:47came to the original series and then watched them all and then you know,
- 1:13:50Next Generation because the you know, the movies did so well and then they
- 1:13:55announced Next Generation. It's just like, oh my word, it's gonna be
- 1:13:57incredible. And of course everybody is the geeks all came out and went they
- 1:14:00can't replace Kirk, No one will ever be like Kirk. And you're like,
- 1:14:04no, they're not. It's gonna be different. And watch right,
- 1:14:08you see, the first uh, Star Trek movie I saw in the theater
- 1:14:11was Generations. So I became a Star Trek fan right around nineteen ninety ninety
- 1:14:15one when The Undiscovered Country came out, um, and I didn't see that
- 1:14:18in the theater. So but I'm I'm thinking and and maybe the people in
- 1:14:24the in the Facebook group could give me some encouragement. Should I Should I
- 1:14:30just suffer for myself and start watching the original series and its entirety? I
- 1:14:35mean, should I just start with the cage and just yes? Because it
- 1:14:40seems like I tried doing that a couple of times. And yes, there
- 1:14:45word hard. You know when he's mind melding with a piece of lasagna.
- 1:14:51If you watch you don't, Yeah, not lag, that's pizza the hut.
- 1:14:57Pizza the hut. Yes, what he does the mind meld with the
- 1:15:00to the hut. You're kind of like, really, really, I've seen
- 1:15:02a lot of these episodes, you know, I've seen you know the um
- 1:15:06you know obviously, things like City on the Edges Forever and yeah, and
- 1:15:11um the one where Kirk uh Balance of Power. Uh, you know,
- 1:15:16so I've seen some of these, but I haven't. I haven't done a
- 1:15:19deep dive into into the original. So many things that I think that you'll
- 1:15:25you'll be so many more Easter eggs that you'll pick up on quickly because you've
- 1:15:30watched them, and then they're there are other things that are deeper, like,
- 1:15:34um, Trelane is Trelane a Q or not? Right? Um,
- 1:15:39you know the Squire Squires, they are all of these different things that come
- 1:15:44up. Um. Yeah, it can be hard to go back and watch
- 1:15:46them, but it's it's the template, um, that everything's built off of.
- 1:15:51And um, yes it yeah it, Like Ty says, it can
- 1:15:57be hard, you know, to push through and if you just can't do
- 1:16:00it, okay, skip through the episode and get to the next one and
- 1:16:03keep going because they're going to be you know, there are winners when they
- 1:16:05are losers, but there aren't that many of them. So, oh,
- 1:16:10I just thought of something. Maybe I could do an occasional pack led review
- 1:16:14of some of the original series episode. Oh there you go. So what's
- 1:16:19hard for me is I can rewatch old Adam West Batman and enjoy that to
- 1:16:25this day. Yeah, and it's in the same time period as t OS
- 1:16:30right. Well, for some reason, TuS seems so much more difficult to
- 1:16:32rewatch sometimes, well because we have a lot of I mean, I know
- 1:16:35we've got a lot of new Batman stuff to pull from too, but I
- 1:16:40think since Star Trek has such a resurgence right now and I mean it's bleeding
- 1:16:46edge technology with the sets and with the special effects and things. I think
- 1:16:50that's there's such a huge chasm between you know, Picard and the original series
- 1:16:57and Strange New Worlds in the original especially with Strange New Worlds in the original
- 1:17:00series, because they're supposed to be set sort of at the same time,
- 1:17:02on the same set, with the same ship, some of the same people.
- 1:17:05So that's what's going to be start. That was one of the ones
- 1:17:12I was thinking of, like how am I going to get through this?
- 1:17:14But there was something like what eighty episode seventy nine episodes of the original series,
- 1:17:18So I mean I could knock out seventy nine episodes of Deep Space nine
- 1:17:23in a weekend. So I'll see what I can do. And speaking of
- 1:17:27Strange New Worlds, um no, I don't think anybody's brought up the fact
- 1:17:30that, uh Pike in this woman captain what's her face? Yeah, captain
- 1:17:39girlfriend. Now she was in the pilot episode of Strange New Worlds. Oh
- 1:17:45yeah, yeah, yeah, okay, so they've been together this entire time,
- 1:17:49yeah yeah, yeah, yeah. Then Pike cheated on her with the
- 1:17:54woman from the planet where they sacrificed the kid. M Oh, that's right.
- 1:18:00I mean, well they were on a break. I think we got
- 1:18:02a break. Okay, Yeah, I don't think I don't think Ross and
- 1:18:06Rachel see it that way. I don't think she would see it that way.
- 1:18:10Um, no, probably not. It's not cheating if it's if it's
- 1:18:14a different planet. Oh okay, okay, yeah, it's also not cheating
- 1:18:19if it's just for diplomacy's sake. That's right. Is that what? That
- 1:18:23was? Definitely the secondary directive interstellar open relationships? Okay, yeah, okay,
- 1:18:30because yeah, when um, when I saw her again and they're like
- 1:18:33talking about being exclusive to each other in this past episode, I'm liken't wait
- 1:18:38a minute. Yeah, he totally slept with that one alien chick. Yeah
- 1:18:45that's true. Yeah, but what does exclusive mean? Really? But are
- 1:18:48they not explorers? Clearly you're not married, right, yeah, because if
- 1:19:00you worried your wife was in the next room. Yeah, I'd have to
- 1:19:06finish out the episode as another guest. Yeah, um, Daniel, one
- 1:19:15thing before I let you guys go, Um, there is something that might
- 1:19:18be in the mail for you. Um, but it was a sort of
- 1:19:26an experiment. So when you may or may not get this item. I'd
- 1:19:30like you to open it and see if it worked. Okay. So it's
- 1:19:34a little something, so you should be getting it sometime this week. So
- 1:19:41dot a glitter bomb and nothing dangerous. Okay. So um that's about it.
- 1:19:45Well I'll let you guys go and get on with it. Gentry did
- 1:19:49a fantastic job. So thank you. Um. Always good to see you
- 1:19:54guys, and uh hopefully we'll see you next week. Sounds good. Thanks,
- 1:19:59sounds good. Right, take your guys. He's got awesome. So
- 1:20:02we've also got um a voicemail that comes from the email. Oh okay,
- 1:20:10uh from from across the pond. Oh yes, Thomas Morris. Nice.
- 1:20:14So i'll play that here in a second. It's exactly right. Um,
- 1:20:18so, uh, just go over one another thing. I always like to
- 1:20:21talk about charitable stuff. Um, we're still in the top one fifty in
- 1:20:26Great Britain, in Canada and in Germany. Okay, so that's pretty good.
- 1:20:32Yeah, that's great northern rankings outside of those three, but for television
- 1:20:36review podcasts. So as the saying goes, Okay, Timothy Morris, I
- 1:20:42said Thomas Morris. I meant Timothy Morris, Hello boys, much love as
- 1:20:45always, tim and here's his He actually wrote that in his Email's great it's
- 1:20:53pulling up. How about my name is Tim and h I have a man
- 1:21:00crush on handsome mounts. Yes, hello boys son. I had to get
- 1:21:08that out of my system because all the time I was watching this episode,
- 1:21:11I was thinking, my god, you are very handsome, and if I
- 1:21:15had hair, I wanted to look like yours. Um, right, do
- 1:21:20you know what. I actually quite enjoyed this episode. It seemed a little
- 1:21:26bit more Star Trek, you know. Um, I made a couple of
- 1:21:30notes hit very quickly. Um. I just enjoyed the whole beginning. I
- 1:21:35like answer. I like when Hanson Mountain is in it. I think he's
- 1:21:39a very good actor. And any anytime he's talking that at the beginning with
- 1:21:44in his quarters with Una, that wasn't Una was it was it Missus.
- 1:21:47Sometimes I get them a bit mixed out because they look quite similar. Um,
- 1:21:53you know, the captains can't date and all that. That was quite
- 1:21:56nicely done. Um, it looked really nice. Now. I know it
- 1:21:59was obviously in places that it was done in studio, but I thought some
- 1:22:03of the landscapes and the backdrops were very nice. Although I was taken out
- 1:22:12of it quite often by the fake steam coming out of their mouths. You
- 1:22:16know, they did it for a couple of scenes where you see this steam
- 1:22:19coming out of their mouth and they're talking to represent that it's quite cold.
- 1:22:23But then they did away with it, and I thought, well, that's
- 1:22:26in the studio. Studios are never cold, they're very hot. So that
- 1:22:30drew me out of it a little bit. One thing I didn't like about
- 1:22:36it was that horrible tinatus ringing was starting to do my head in turn.
- 1:22:41I had to send the volume down every time. I found that rather annoying,
- 1:22:45and I've seen quite a bit of that on social media that people who
- 1:22:47suffered from the tinatus weren't having a great time with it. The bloke but
- 1:23:00was sort of helping them through it. I've seen him something before. He
- 1:23:02reminded me a little bit of Duncan McNeil, Robbie Duncan McNeil, the way
- 1:23:10he looks now, but it wasn't him, but he had that sort of
- 1:23:13look about him. I've seen him in Star Trek before, but I couldn't
- 1:23:15I couldn't place it. The only thing it was quite quick, wasn't it.
- 1:23:21How they all got their memory back, and I thought, what have
- 1:23:24I missed here? What have I missed? And it was obviously as they
- 1:23:28come out of the debris field, but that was that was just done a
- 1:23:32little bit quickly for my liking. But I'll tell you what, it was
- 1:23:38the best episode of the season so far. Yeah, I quite enjoyed it.
- 1:23:42And I didn't see myself roll in my eyes all the time like I
- 1:23:47had been recently. So yeah, yeah, I hope it improves him here
- 1:23:51and yeah, I'd rather enjoyed it. Boys. I know it's probably a
- 1:23:57bit of a surprise and a bit of a shock to you, but certainly
- 1:24:00the best one of the seasons so far. Pulled up at Asda now,
- 1:24:04which I think is equivalent of I don't know, Costco. I think over
- 1:24:11there, it's some pizza and beer for tonight, because that's what we do
- 1:24:15here on a Saturday night, drink pizza and eat beer. Yes, that's
- 1:24:20what I said. Anyway, boys, love you very much, and if
- 1:24:25I can find the pause button, I will. I'll see you next time,
- 1:24:29Love you bye. He is awesome. Pizza and beer is very American.
- 1:24:34That is great. It was like a good Saturday night to me.
- 1:24:38Yeah. For sure, for sure. You know he was bringing that up
- 1:24:41about the about the noise. Yeah, that also reminded me. In the
- 1:24:46in the Will Wheaton Show, Anton Mount did mention that one of the things
- 1:24:50that's kind of wonky for them as actors is on the volume on that stage,
- 1:24:57the backgrounds move with the camera, right, so sometimes in the corner
- 1:25:00of your eye things shift because they camera and so like, if you're not
- 1:25:06paying attention, it can really mess with your equilibrium, Yeah, and kind
- 1:25:11of give you like a loozy feeling. So he's like, you have to
- 1:25:15focus on stuff ahead of you while it's doing that or else it'll it'll kind
- 1:25:20of get you. I never thought about that as an issue, but yeah,
- 1:25:25your peripheral is going to see movement right while you're looking at this thing
- 1:25:29that's not moving, and it's like, yeah, yeah, that's pretty wild.
- 1:25:32Yeah. He's like, they all have their their areas. They look
- 1:25:36to make sure that they're okay, but they'll get you. So jazz Biz
- 1:25:41asked what kind of pizza, and I'm gonna say he was since he was
- 1:25:44drinking his pizza and eating his beer, he was probably having pizza soup from
- 1:25:46Chicago. The head flown in he strikes me as a meat lovers fan.
- 1:25:51Yeah, probably, Yeah, just all the animals on top of that pizza.
- 1:25:58All of the animals. It's like Noah's ark up in there, every
- 1:26:05kind of every kind. Yeah yeah, awesome, welling up. No,
- 1:26:15no, it's good. Uh that's everything that got on the on the feedback
- 1:26:16side for me. Yeah same here, awesome, good episode. Yeah,
- 1:26:21yeah, thanks so much for being here, gentry. Oh my god.
- 1:26:26Absolutely love it and time. I'm always happy to do it. You guys
- 1:26:30are fun to be with. The show is fun. It's fun to be
- 1:26:32a fan that gets to, you know, interact with with the celebrities.
- 1:26:39So, you know, thank you. I gotta bring this up real quick.
- 1:26:42What is he just flashing the Yeah I just grabbed him yesterday. Yeah,
- 1:26:50run is throwing up the Oh no sorry whenever I um uh this,
- 1:26:57I keep listening to the so through this, and then I remember that you
- 1:27:02probably can see me in the corner and my reactions, and then I remembered,
- 1:27:06like, I'm not trying to stalk you guys at that kind. But
- 1:27:11no, I've got the If you want me to send these to anybody,
- 1:27:15oh yeah, yeah, so let me know. Yeah, because I made
- 1:27:19an extra set just for that. Awesome. Yeah, we'll do that.
- 1:27:23Oh, Deanna just said, best part about Anson's hair is that he's totally
- 1:27:27not into it. It's like a curse to him. Good interview from Will.
- 1:27:30It's true. Yeah, he's very like whatever man. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:27:35that's wild. I still though, I mean, it's gorgeous. What
- 1:27:39could we do? Good hair? Yeah, Timmy, Timmy with his man
- 1:27:43crush. Yeah, we love it. That's the first step. That's right.
- 1:27:49Yep, cool everybody. Yeah, yeah, we're gonna need another co
- 1:27:56host for next week. I will not be here. I'm on vacation.
- 1:27:59I'm going to be so I won't be here next weekend. Weon't have time
- 1:28:01yea, yeah, so we'll figure out. Yeah yeah. I was mentioning
- 1:28:05its strong beards here. Yes, please please just go ahead and come on,
- 1:28:10Scott so I can harass you. Always available. There you go,
