Bethlehem Police Chief Gina Cocchiara just jumped into the Albany County sheriff’s race — filing papers Tuesday to become one of the first candidates. With current Sheriff Craig Apple announcing his exit last week, Cocchiara, a longtime Bethlehem PD veteran and Democrat, is positioning herself early for the 2025 election, already planning fall campaign events.
