- 1:14Speaker 2: it like it is. To someone else because I'm not.
- 1:16Speaker 2: I don't want to hear it.

- 2:12Speaker 4: how much did you pay for it? You paid like
- 2:14Speaker 4: I ended up paying sixty five dollars. Yes, And I
- 2:17Speaker 4: got three blankets, which the kids love. By the way,
- 2:20Speaker 4: so blankets I can vouch for the blankets. Have got
- 2:22Speaker 4: a Muppet show, a blanket, a Wazzles or Disney show
- 2:25Speaker 4: with Wazzles, and a Smurf's one.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Three blankets, one hundred sixty five dollars, smile on a
- 2:30Speaker 2: child's face, priceless, ten minutes of piercing quiet. It was good.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Risk of going up in flames. Yeah, bozzle book, So
- 2:41Speaker 2: it's funny.
- 2:42Speaker 4: Now, we watched an episode of I think it may
- 2:44Speaker 4: have been Monk right where no, no, it was House
- 2:47Speaker 4: and the kids were getting sick and they couldn't work
- 2:49Speaker 4: out why. It's because they bought something from this website
- 2:51Speaker 4: from like China and it was it was a T
- 2:53Speaker 4: shirt and they all they didn't wash before they wore it.
- 2:56Speaker 2: Now the blankets, I was like, she'ld on be washing
- 2:58Speaker 2: this first.
- 2:59Speaker 4: The upper show blankets good because it's got all the
- 3:01Speaker 4: Muppets on it. So now the kids were laying in
- 3:03Speaker 4: bed last night doing ice Spy, saying can you find Fozzy?
- 3:07Speaker 2: And I'm like, you know what, this gives pain for itself.
- 3:10Speaker 2: It's warm and entertaining. This is a multi purpose blanket.
- 3:14Speaker 2: You thought it was good for just one thing. No, no, no,
- 3:16Speaker 2: yeah it's good. I've got two bluetooth I what do
- 3:20Speaker 2: you call like headphones, but their iemasks for the plane.
- 3:24Speaker 2: You're not just getting your eyes covering. You're alto getting
- 3:26Speaker 2: some peaceful, you know, darkness. You're also getting your favorite
- 3:29Speaker 2: tunes pump directly into your ears or podcasts from the network. Yeah,
- 3:34Speaker 2: did I say no?
- 3:34Speaker 1: No?
- 3:35Speaker 2: Podcasts, tunes? Music these days? Be an idiot? Give it
- 3:39Speaker 2: the times, Grandpa District. You've just reminded me that I
- 3:41Speaker 2: actually need new headphones. I was out of my Do
- 3:44Speaker 2: you like some? No, I need very specific ones because
- 3:49Speaker 2: I was out of my walk yesterday, and I don't
- 3:52Speaker 2: like to use my phone and my earbuds when I'm
- 3:56Speaker 2: out walking, because like it's going to be cutting out
- 3:58Speaker 2: and all this kind of business. So surprised it cuts out.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Do you lose the reception or something to you with
- 4:01Speaker 2: your phone? I guess so. Yeah. I mean if I'm
- 4:04Speaker 2: listening to a podcast that's being streamed via my phone
- 4:06Speaker 2: and then going into my belt, it's like, this is
- 4:08Speaker 2: just too many connections that are relying on I don't know. Yeah,
- 4:13Speaker 2: I need wires.
- 4:14Speaker 4: I need to listen to your phone first, but I could.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Then then I just want new headphones.

- 4:30Speaker 2: I think they're still on the cheap. It's got Black month, right,
- 4:32Speaker 2: I really should Honestly, it's just sales all year round.
- 4:35Speaker 4: Yeah, it's I mean, everything is always a sale now.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Because I mean we here in Australia have subscribed to
- 4:41Speaker 2: the whole Black Friday thing which used to be a
- 4:42Speaker 2: Thanksgiving thing, or was a Thanksgiving thing in America. But
- 4:45Speaker 2: before that we had our bunch of sales. Recently didn't
- 4:48Speaker 2: we feels like every shop's all financial year stuff.
- 4:50Speaker 4: It's always a twenty percent So everything's a sale now,
- 4:53Speaker 4: right because the up the rip seconds be forever on
- 4:55Speaker 4: a sale. I love the ones that say fifty percent
- 4:58Speaker 4: off in little your second item.
- 5:03Speaker 2: Listeners of any of the Four Fingered discann podcast know
- 5:06Speaker 2: that down I basically suckers. We will buy just a
- 5:09Speaker 2: band anything, but I don't know. We should be more
- 5:13Speaker 2: conscientious in our purchases, he says.
- 5:14Speaker 4: He looks around, haven't I've purchased this shit a long
- 5:17Speaker 4: time ago.
- 5:18Speaker 2: That's I don't want to be like a doom say
- 5:21Speaker 2: or anything like that. I was telling you about this
- 5:23Speaker 2: show I watched on Netflix on the weekend. Well buy now.
- 5:27Speaker 2: Anyone who has watched even a single podcast on a
- 5:30Speaker 2: single YouTube video on this finds it. Their algorithm is
- 5:33Speaker 2: just full of it. It's basically, don't be a sucker.
- 5:36Speaker 2: You know what these what these guys are doing to
- 5:38Speaker 2: you know, verty good? They're not good guys, know more.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Buy a new book, yeah pretty much. Yeah. Yeah, but
- 5:44Speaker 2: it was like, oh, yeah, you know that thing you
- 5:46Speaker 2: brought from Timu eighty bucks wather stuff, It's going to
- 5:48Speaker 2: end up in the gun and waterways something. It's pretty sad. Yeah,
- 5:52Speaker 2: it's just all shit. Yeah.
- 5:54Speaker 4: The blankets though, okay, oh yeah, the blanket's going anywhere
- 5:57Speaker 4: if you can just pay twenty bucks for a blank
- 5:59Speaker 4: or whatever. The full sized bedside like double bed, Yeah,
- 6:02Speaker 4: they're good.
- 6:03Speaker 2: I held in my hot little hands yesterday as I
- 6:05Speaker 2: was trying to leave, and Dan was like, no, hold
- 6:07Speaker 2: this blanket. Blanket. It was like fields, actually pretty, It's
- 6:10Speaker 2: actually really soft, isn't it It is? Yeah, I wholly
- 6:13Speaker 2: understand why the kids would be happy with it. Yes,
- 6:15Speaker 2: all right, so double double in Trouble.
- 6:19Speaker 4: I think this is another episode that has a really
- 6:21Speaker 4: good story within it. It just felt something just didn't
- 6:26Speaker 4: quite hit like it was. It was fine, but it
- 6:28Speaker 4: just felt like it's missing something.
- 6:32Speaker 2: Yeah, there were aspects of it I liked, certainly. I
- 6:35Speaker 2: think the thing was it felt like, yeah, this is
- 6:39Speaker 2: there should have been like the second or third time
- 6:41Speaker 2: we'd seen what do they call the the Wooster Fields
- 6:45Speaker 2: or fields. Yeah. I love the idea that there's Springfield Heights. Yeah,
- 6:48Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, that there's this yeah, posh suburb of Springfield.
- 6:52Speaker 4: It's first scene properly in when scenes of class struggle
- 6:57Speaker 4: on Springfield, when Mark gets the Shanel dress and she
- 6:58Speaker 4: goes to the country club.
- 7:00Speaker 2: Ok. Yeah, I mean, I don't know. I just liked
- 7:02Speaker 2: the idea that there is this sort of social strata
- 7:05Speaker 2: in Springfield. It's never really been played up all that much.
- 7:08Speaker 4: I guess I know it has been. There's an episode
- 7:10Speaker 4: where they built the wall between the rich and the poor.
- 7:12Speaker 2: Okay, well that's two episodes. Probably this is a lot
- 7:15Speaker 2: more of I thought about it. You probably I'm a
- 7:19Speaker 2: sucker for a good prince in the pauper story. So yeah,
- 7:21Speaker 2: I was very happy that this had this whole kind
- 7:23Speaker 2: of thing. I guess the feeling would have been better
- 7:26Speaker 2: if the maybe of the wooster Fields wooster Fields. Yes,
- 7:32Speaker 2: remember wasshter ship, great sauce? Good was your she soy sauce?
- 7:36Speaker 2: Don't like wash share she sauce for me? It's good.
- 7:39Speaker 4: You have to put in things when you're cooking hamburgers
- 7:41Speaker 4: or whatever. Oh yeah, just laughter that ship.
- 7:43Speaker 2: With that right. Oh you don't want to like spread
- 7:44Speaker 2: it like a steak or whatever. Yeah, I don't think
- 7:46Speaker 2: I've done that for a very long time. Very good
- 7:48Speaker 2: in a shepherd's pay.
- 7:50Speaker 4: Best sauce for a steak in the Canna three is
- 7:52Speaker 4: a combination of two ready one two three butter galy so,
- 7:57Speaker 4: I said creamy garlic, I said garlic butter. We okay,
- 8:01Speaker 4: I see chremea garlic and mushroom together at Parker Steakhouse.
- 8:04Speaker 4: I'm still going to park I haven't been there for
- 8:06Speaker 4: a long time because I went there last time I went.
- 8:08Speaker 4: This is a bit smaller and more expensive.
- 8:12Speaker 1: I know.
- 8:13Speaker 2: This is The show was rapidly disintegrated into dandeor guy
- 8:17Speaker 2: gribe about the cost of maving that's because we have
- 8:19Speaker 2: no money. That's true, by the way, like and subscribe.
- 8:24Speaker 2: I mean I took the Lovely Louise out for dinner
- 8:26Speaker 2: on Sunday night. She's like, can we go out with
- 8:28Speaker 2: Midside a weekend? Said the same thing? She goes you
- 8:31Speaker 2: know what it was.
- 8:33Speaker 4: It was like perfect timing. So the Simpsons were in
- 8:36Speaker 4: the background, like it was last Tuesday, Nila, we should
- 8:38Speaker 4: go out for dinner.
- 8:39Speaker 2: I was like, and no. Ship.
- 8:42Speaker 4: Within like two minutes of us, Nicola going all right,
- 8:44Speaker 4: I'll just cook something. The episode were having what's the
- 8:46Speaker 4: point going out anymore? Nicholas like that's becoming us And
- 8:51Speaker 4: I was like, oh no.
- 8:53Speaker 2: So we went out for dinner, but went down to
- 8:58Speaker 2: a very nice local pub bistro, which one clats it's
- 9:02Speaker 2: his arms, so he's arms. Okay, yes, I'm not having
- 9:05Speaker 2: a go with these guys. I mean, you know, cost
- 9:08Speaker 2: of going up all over the place, but one killo
- 9:09Speaker 2: sta should weigh a kilo. Lou had a very nice steak,
- 9:14Speaker 2: split a little thing of saganaki cheese, you.
- 9:16Speaker 4: Know, garlic bread or is that what's the second ady cheese?
- 9:19Speaker 2: What's that? That's it's like a loomy you put in
- 9:21Speaker 2: the fry pani, Okay, give it an ars.
- 9:23Speaker 4: We always have a cheesy garlic bread that we share.
- 9:26Speaker 2: NICs. Uh no, drinks, didn't have I didn't have a
- 9:29Speaker 2: glass of wine.
- 9:30Speaker 4: You need to because it's just too expansive without it.
- 9:34Speaker 2: Okay, we just had a perfectly nice meal. I'm like, oh,
- 9:38Speaker 2: I'll pick this one up by We had triple figures
- 9:42Speaker 2: really with just the food. With just the food, oh,
- 9:46Speaker 2: I mean we okay, we got sparkling water. That's just water.
- 9:49Speaker 2: They're bling bubbles into it. The only kids at the back.
- 9:56Speaker 2: I was going, okay, this would be around yeah, eighty
- 9:59Speaker 2: ninety bucks, sixty to seventies. Usually it was it was
- 10:02Speaker 2: a little more net. Yeah it was ok.
- 10:04Speaker 4: He drives down trip Oh my goodness. Yeah, I get
- 10:08Speaker 4: drives down dawns with confus when.
- 10:09Speaker 2: I never was a kid. Yeah, I'm very different. D
- 10:14Speaker 2: was like, was it market price or something? I got
- 10:17Speaker 2: the stake at market price more like market right, and
- 10:21Speaker 2: yeah said please don't come back to it different, don't
- 10:24Speaker 2: have to be closed.
- 10:24Speaker 4: Then there they're closed? Yeah, yeah, bad, like are those
- 10:29Speaker 4: guys speaking of the hill. It was the price of demand,
- 10:32Speaker 4: wasn't it or something like that.
- 10:33Speaker 2: Yeah, something like that, ye, yes, yeah, anyway about the
- 10:36Speaker 2: cost of living at the Hill.
- 10:37Speaker 4: If you haven't checked out our Patreon, excuse Speak of
- 10:40Speaker 4: the Hill podcast, make sure you do so. First season
- 10:41Speaker 4: available for free. If you want season two onwards, just
- 10:43Speaker 4: support us on Patreon.
- 10:45Speaker 2: It's one of the many shows we cover here, one
- 10:46Speaker 2: of the many pop culture items that we discussed a
- 10:50Speaker 2: great in great detail and a great depth.
- 10:53Speaker 4: Now, there was a comment at the end of this
- 10:55Speaker 4: episode right that made me go, let me think that
- 10:59Speaker 4: the riders of the Simpsons just obviously don't discuss what
- 11:02Speaker 4: they're doing in each other's episodes anymore, because how did
- 11:05Speaker 4: last week's episode Lost for Rizon end? They get back
- 11:08Speaker 4: from your pitch you and what happens in the house?
- 11:12Speaker 4: Bart plays a cool remember he's never leave again on something,
- 11:18Speaker 4: Never Leave Again. She's like, Ah, this episode ends with
- 11:20Speaker 4: I never thought i'd say this, but I missed you guys.
- 11:22Speaker 2: I'm like the last episode with missing them. Oh yeah,
- 11:27Speaker 2: that's right, it's all very much. There's there's no place
- 11:30Speaker 2: like home, There's no place like that. Oh that's listen. Now,
- 11:33Speaker 2: I've just had a I've just had a connective thought Okay,
- 11:36Speaker 2: well we'll talk about that in the moment the cash gag,
- 11:39Speaker 2: I'm assuming yeah, oh yeah, so oh you're looking at
- 11:42Speaker 2: me like, yeah, that's obvious.
- 11:43Speaker 4: No, no, no, no, As you were saying, I was like, oh, yeah,
- 11:47Speaker 4: so the story I was getting to at the start
- 11:49Speaker 4: that there's a good story here of the appreciate what
- 11:52Speaker 4: you've got.
- 11:52Speaker 2: Not what someone else has.
- 11:53Speaker 4: And that's not that can't be applied to everybody, obviously,
- 11:56Speaker 4: but a lot of the time, if you're wanting what
- 11:58Speaker 4: someone else has got, you will never be happy.
- 12:01Speaker 2: There is an old saying. It's been attributed to many people,
- 12:03Speaker 2: whether it's you know, Greek scholars or the Great Confucius.
- 12:07Speaker 2: What was it? Comparison is the thief of joy? Anything? Though?
- 12:12Speaker 4: Is with this story here? If so Simon, right, Simon
- 12:16Speaker 4: the kid Simon? Yeah, if Simon's siblings weren't trying to
- 12:19Speaker 4: kill him, wed bard have wanted to go home again?
- 12:22Speaker 2: No, he had it pretty good.
- 12:23Speaker 4: He had it pretty good. Yeah, so there is a story.
- 12:28Speaker 2: So they hamstring their own, they necapped their own.
- 12:32Speaker 4: Yes, so it's kind of like there's a message here,
- 12:34Speaker 4: but it's also the message was only working because he
- 12:37Speaker 4: had siblings that wanted to kill him the actual lifestyle,
- 12:41Speaker 4: but probably good enjoyed.
- 12:42Speaker 2: Yeahships in the pool and that's true. Yeah, he wasn't going,
- 12:45Speaker 2: oh this is kind of shallow or anything.
- 12:47Speaker 4: Like, which is what I thought the episode needed.
- 12:49Speaker 2: He needed it. He needed an understanding that he did
- 12:51Speaker 2: have it pretty good? Yeah, well good, but it needed
- 12:55Speaker 2: to show he thought were superficially good, lacked any real
- 13:00Speaker 2: substance or meaning.
- 13:01Speaker 4: Yeah, because it needed to have because Bart was sleeping
- 13:03Speaker 4: on the air hockey table, right or he was calling
- 13:06Speaker 4: from the hockey table, remember that you called Simon. There
- 13:08Speaker 4: needed to be a scene because they kept emphasizing the
- 13:10Speaker 4: tuck ins, right, the need to be a scene of Bart.
- 13:15Speaker 2: Very well done, Dan, though, good for you because all there.
- 13:18Speaker 4: Is one scene of him going because he could have
- 13:20Speaker 4: had the mother going you're old enough, you can tuck
- 13:22Speaker 4: yourself in good midnight and that's it.
- 13:24Speaker 2: What a fixer, What a fixer you are. You're just
- 13:28Speaker 2: solving problems because then the final scene means more. It does,
- 13:32Speaker 2: doesn't it. You fixed this episode? All right, we're done
- 13:36Speaker 2: and we're out and we're the and it's gone. My favorite.
- 13:42Speaker 4: Did you have any favorite moments from the episode, because
- 13:43Speaker 4: I've got here in my notes.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Nothing I had to struggle.
- 13:48Speaker 4: One of my favorite moments is also a Trivier question,
- 13:50Speaker 4: so I can't spoil it yet. Okay, then, but it
- 13:52Speaker 4: was more of a visual gag.
- 13:54Speaker 2: Okay. As I said at the start, I'm a sucker
- 13:57Speaker 2: for a good prince with the poor story, and this said,
- 14:00Speaker 2: anytime you've got that framework, I'm pretty happy.
- 14:03Speaker 4: So this was based was actually based on Tell me So.
- 14:06Speaker 4: The episode's plot is a parody of Daphne du Maurier's
- 14:09Speaker 4: ninety fifty seven novel of the Scapegoat, while Simon's horse
- 14:12Speaker 4: Shadow shadow Facts is named after Gandoff's horse from the
- 14:15Speaker 4: Lord of the Rings.
- 14:16Speaker 2: Sure Is.
- 14:16Speaker 4: The plot is also based on the eighteen eighty one
- 14:18Speaker 4: Yeah Prince de Pope, as you're saying, marked.
- 14:20Speaker 2: One, Yeah, yeah, I have never read or heard of
- 14:24Speaker 2: The Scapeguat. I know daphnein Demurrier. My sisters were very
- 14:27Speaker 2: big on Daphne to Murray. Would you like to know
- 14:28Speaker 2: the brief synopsis? Sure In a bar of France, a
- 14:32Speaker 2: lonely English academic on holiday meets his double, a French
- 14:35Speaker 2: aristocrat who gets him drunk, swaps identities, and disappears leaving
- 14:39Speaker 2: the Englishman to sort out the Frenchman's extensive financial and
- 14:41Speaker 2: family problems pretty good. The story has been the basis
- 14:44Speaker 2: of two films, one in nineteen fifty nine starring your
- 14:46Speaker 2: Man Alec Guinness and Betty Davis, and one in twenty
- 14:49Speaker 2: twenty twelve starring Matthew Reese. Oh called the Scapegoat.
- 14:54Speaker 4: Yeah, the Escapegoat of Ali Guinness nine to fifty nine?
- 14:57Speaker 2: Yeah, what about the Matthew Reese one? Okay, So that
- 15:00Speaker 2: guy's doing all right. He appears in a bunch of
- 15:02Speaker 2: good movies, and he's married to Kerry Russell. Wasn't he
- 15:04Speaker 2: that Brothers show? He wasn't Brothers and Sisters? And he
- 15:07Speaker 2: was the lead in the Americans for about six seasons.
- 15:10Speaker 4: Escapeo is a British film adaptation of the book The Drummers,
- 15:15Speaker 4: written and directed by Charles Sturage.
- 15:17Speaker 2: Do you know Charles Sturage? That name does ring a bell?
- 15:20Speaker 4: Charles Sturage, English director of Scream No Nothing really There
- 15:24Speaker 4: stars Matthew Reese as lookike characters John Standy and must
- 15:27Speaker 4: play two characters Justinny and Johnny Spence. It was broadcast
- 15:30Speaker 4: on Itubes. I directed TV then Yeah still maybe checking
- 15:35Speaker 4: out or he didn't know that Alginnis version either.
- 15:37Speaker 2: I did not. That's incredible, it is, because that's a
- 15:40Speaker 2: hell of it all star cast and Betty Davis.
- 15:44Speaker 4: So the pauper story, what is the basis for that story?
- 15:48Speaker 2: Oh, that's the thing. I mean, I'm not sure I've
- 15:51Speaker 2: actually ever read the Prince on the Poor, but the
- 15:53Speaker 2: upshot of it.
- 15:53Speaker 4: Is that it was the Prince in the port just
- 15:55Speaker 4: read in Wikipedia. No, no, I mean, but you know
- 15:58Speaker 4: it's kind of a it's kind of a trope. Yeah, okay, yeah, you've.
- 16:01Speaker 2: Got a rich well, it's usually a dude, a rich
- 16:04Speaker 2: dude and a poor dude who look alike and for
- 16:07Speaker 2: some reason they swap places. And this is nine year
- 16:10Speaker 2: olds yeah kid, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 16:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:12Speaker 2: Does you say who wrote it? Mark Twain? As I said,
- 16:14Speaker 2: it is market Sorry I didn't hear the Mark Twain. Yeah,
- 16:16Speaker 2: Mark Twain. Yeah.
- 16:17Speaker 4: Pocket turns the ascension of nine year old Edward six
- 16:19Speaker 4: of England in fifteen forty seven, and his interactions would
- 16:22Speaker 4: look like Tom Canty, a London paper who lives with
- 16:24Speaker 4: his abusive alcoholic father. Similar stories.
- 16:27Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, it's just a bit of invariably you've got
- 16:31Speaker 2: the message or that the grass is green. On the
- 16:33Speaker 2: other side, having said that it too good for Tom Canty, no,
- 16:38Speaker 2: I think I'm going to steer a prince, thank you
- 16:39Speaker 2: very much, And that's what they.
- 16:40Speaker 4: Had to sort of play out more in this episode
- 16:42Speaker 4: was yes, Homer was they've gone back to home of being.
- 16:44Speaker 2: A dick again. There was a lot of bad Homer
- 16:47Speaker 2: in this episode.
- 16:48Speaker 4: For the sake of just trying to emphasize his life.
- 16:51Speaker 4: He doesn't like his life back home because of Homer.
- 16:52Speaker 4: It's like, yeah, but he's got Marge there, and he doesn't.
- 16:55Speaker 4: He never he never misses March. That's the thing. He
- 16:58Speaker 4: never misses March until he says the you know what,
- 17:00Speaker 4: I never thought i'd miss you, guys. He never actually
- 17:02Speaker 4: misses Marge specifically, he never mentions he doesn't think of
- 17:05Speaker 4: it something that he misses with Lisa because like you,
- 17:07Speaker 4: Lisa says, but would have thrown me from the windo
- 17:09Speaker 4: or whatever. Right, there needs to be a scene with
- 17:11Speaker 4: the sister, the sibling doing something him going Lisa would
- 17:14Speaker 4: have done that with me, or Lisa would have said
- 17:15Speaker 4: something different, or.
- 17:17Speaker 2: Even oh, I would have liked poking fun at Lisa.
- 17:19Speaker 2: In this situation. Yeah. Yeah, a lot of inconsistency with
- 17:24Speaker 2: Marge as well. This episode I thought was like, you know,
- 17:26Speaker 2: sometimes she's really upset, really really angry, but then you know,
- 17:29Speaker 2: three seconds later, even doing the tucking, I understand they
- 17:32Speaker 2: need the tuck in, but at the same.
- 17:34Speaker 4: Time she's felt very much suppressed my rage. Everyone's happy.
- 17:39Speaker 2: Yeah, but then all the tucking seems incredibly sincere and heartfelt.
- 17:43Speaker 4: You're right, Yeah, the Marge scenes feel natural and they
- 17:47Speaker 4: actually work. I thought the Marge tucking in scenes were
- 17:50Speaker 4: really sweet.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Very sweet. Yeah. Yeah, but honestly, I mean the stuff
- 17:53Speaker 2: with home. My very first note about this episode is like,
- 17:56Speaker 2: when they're in the quickie, Mart, so over the top,
- 18:00Speaker 2: wasn't it. Well, it's a very specific, very premeditated threat. Yeah,
- 18:05Speaker 2: the whole cliche of Homer strangling Bart. Yeah, it's Homo
- 18:09Speaker 2: strangling Bar. But I mean it's really just a manifestation of, Oh,
- 18:13Speaker 2: this kid makes me so angry that I could throttle him. Okay,
- 18:16Speaker 2: you've got to. We'll do it literally just to show you.
- 18:18Speaker 2: But I mean it's essentially I'm frustrated with kid all
- 18:20Speaker 2: the time. I'd really like to do this, but I
- 18:22Speaker 2: want but whereas this is kind of like I'm angry
- 18:26Speaker 2: at you all the time, and goodness me, goodness me,
- 18:28Speaker 2: I could just take you into a dark corner and
- 18:32Speaker 2: mess you up.
- 18:32Speaker 4: Yeah, but Bart wasn't paying into good life either too.
- 18:36Speaker 4: It's like bash a shithead, but he hasn't been this
- 18:40Speaker 4: bar for a long time, and it's like, for the
- 18:42Speaker 4: sake of this story, right, he needs to be absolutely reckless.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like you've gone back to season one or
- 18:48Speaker 2: season two bar and.
- 18:49Speaker 4: It's almost like they're going they're blaming his parents for
- 18:52Speaker 4: feeding him shit food as well, because even double down
- 18:55Speaker 4: on it when they get when Simon's having dinner and
- 18:57Speaker 4: then they're like taking it. But when Timon's having dinner,
- 18:59Speaker 4: she's like, well, you know, I made it with cheerios,
- 19:01Speaker 4: and I did this, and I did something full of sugar,
- 19:02Speaker 4: and you know, it's like, Marge, what is going on?
- 19:07Speaker 2: Yeah? Is it Bart's fault?
- 19:09Speaker 1: Is it not?
- 19:09Speaker 2: I don't know. It's again kind of all over the place.
- 19:13Speaker 4: There's a lot of inconsistencies, but a good story in there,
- 19:16Speaker 4: oh yeah, just not fleshed out enough.
- 19:19Speaker 2: That's it remains, as I said, a cliche or a
- 19:23Speaker 2: dry big for very good reasons, like, oh, it's a
- 19:26Speaker 2: story that always works, and this has a good underlying message,
- 19:29Speaker 2: and it's like, you know, be happy, not be happy
- 19:31Speaker 2: with what you've got, but recognize the good in what
- 19:34Speaker 2: you've got.
- 19:35Speaker 4: The best Homo threats for me, because as you said,
- 19:37Speaker 4: this was very specific, right, But when I've always thought
- 19:41Speaker 4: the best Homer threat was when he threatens Lisa and
- 19:43Speaker 4: he says, Lisa Tennant, stop playing your sax, but I.
- 19:45Speaker 2: Need to practice. He is, I'll practice you. You'll practice
- 19:48Speaker 2: me threat. But that's just your cliche that because how
- 19:51Speaker 2: many dads do that.
- 19:52Speaker 4: I'll practice you in a minute, I'll give you makes
- 19:56Speaker 4: notice of that, that's that's that's oh ship, I'll practice you.
- 20:01Speaker 4: It's like that doesn't make any sense. But you know,
- 20:03Speaker 4: so he's just yeah, constantly, that's a good Hamit threat.
- 20:06Speaker 4: But I'll beat you with those stick magazines.
- 20:08Speaker 2: It's like, that's not cool.
- 20:10Speaker 4: You actually heard that a supermarket ego. Oh by the way, guys,
- 20:16Speaker 4: at the end of this episode, we got the news
- 20:18Speaker 4: edition of what.
- 20:19Speaker 2: A Lord said that should we be doing this? I
- 20:26Speaker 2: mean I think what I know there are lords in
- 20:28Speaker 2: the world. They should be they should be recognized.
- 20:30Speaker 4: Yes, even if someone from the past or whatever, you'll
- 20:32Speaker 4: find someone. Okay, it's we're going to end each episode
- 20:36Speaker 4: with a bit of positivity.
- 20:37Speaker 2: What a lord. I like to think this episode, well,
- 20:39Speaker 2: every episode of and everything we do on the Far
- 20:41Speaker 2: Discount Network is positive. It's like sending someone home. Having
- 20:45Speaker 2: said that, we basically just spend twenty minutes saying everything
- 20:47Speaker 2: costs so much for these days, I have to take
- 20:49Speaker 2: the miss. Yes, those people are indeed heroes. You know
- 20:57Speaker 2: who else's heroes, your pals down there on Guy and all.

- 24:51Speaker 4: All right, so let's get into our review of Not
- 24:53Speaker 4: the Prince in the Poor, but our review of Double
- 24:55Speaker 4: Double Boy in Trouble.
- 24:56Speaker 2: We could do that.
- 24:56Speaker 4: We could do some tribut we could do some tribua.
- 24:58Speaker 4: We did it out of order. Let's do trivia. Let's
- 24:59Speaker 4: go for it.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Next question, you there eating the paste. Let's go. Okay?
- 25:05Speaker 2: Should I go first? Yes? Okay. My first question to you,
- 25:10Speaker 2: there's a sign of mos that said a certain night
- 25:12Speaker 2: is ladies night. What night is ladies?
- 25:14Speaker 5: Not?
- 25:14Speaker 4: At mos Tuesdays Tuesday. Yeah, it's always been Tuesday. I
- 25:17Speaker 4: didn't say that, but yeah. So my first question for
- 25:21Speaker 4: you is one of my favorite moments. What is the
- 25:24Speaker 4: population of Aspen?
- 25:27Speaker 2: White? White? Who played at Woosterfield Arena? Where an artist
- 25:36Speaker 2: gets a name check? It was when Bart and Simon
- 25:39Speaker 2: first meet in the bathroom. Nah, got me, it's Bonnie Rate.
- 25:44Speaker 2: I have no idea who that is? A Country and
- 25:47Speaker 2: Western musician, same as the who sings the nine to
- 25:50Speaker 2: eleven songs? What would you do if you discovered your
- 25:54Speaker 2: identical twin in the bedroom?
- 25:57Speaker 4: Ladded to Heaven going down to South Park of euro
- 26:00Speaker 4: ifn't even know a south Park found check it out
- 26:02Speaker 4: because it was.
- 26:02Speaker 2: It's the season six of the show is awesome. It's
- 26:05Speaker 2: pretty darn good, I got to say. Is indeed?
- 26:07Speaker 4: Now, who are the two people not Fleetwood, Mac and
- 26:11Speaker 4: not mcaulay culkin. Who are the two other humans that
- 26:14Speaker 4: Bart seasons whilst he's driving.
- 26:15Speaker 2: It's McDreamy and McSteamy, the two hot doctors from the
- 26:19Speaker 2: inexplicably long running medical soap opera Gray's Anatomy. They're still
- 26:23Speaker 2: going right, still going Maybe it just Gray's not in
- 26:26Speaker 2: it anymore. H I'd never watched a single episode of
- 26:28Speaker 2: the show, would know who Gray is. Great, that's Meredith Gray, Okay.
- 26:32Speaker 2: I always just assumed Gray was dreamy or mixed him
- 26:35Speaker 2: whatever it is that guy. I was like, he seems
- 26:36Speaker 2: like the main star. But was he like the George Clinney. Yeah, yeah,
- 26:40Speaker 2: I mean yeah, the central character grays Anatomy was Meredith
- 26:44Speaker 2: Gray played by Ellen Pompeo or Popio, except she just
- 26:48Speaker 2: quit the show, like I quit the show. Resigned from
- 26:50Speaker 2: the show after maybe twenty seasons. I thought of finished
- 26:53Speaker 2: off the season like recently just finished right, No, No,
- 26:55Speaker 2: I'm still going, still going season twenty one right now. Yeah,
- 27:00Speaker 2: do a Graze Anatomy like TV launch.
- 27:01Speaker 4: But it's the tenth most popular program on all of
- 27:04Speaker 4: on demand television.
- 27:05Speaker 2: What we were what we were saying, but I don't
- 27:07Speaker 2: know if it was off the air. Yeah, shows like
- 27:10Speaker 2: this there are incredibly popular. Still. Yeah, nobody talks about
- 27:14Speaker 2: them or mean, people do talk about them, but they're
- 27:16Speaker 2: not like you know, on the front on the front
- 27:19Speaker 2: page of whatever media outlet you choose to frequent But
- 27:22Speaker 2: people are still watching them. People love them.
- 27:24Speaker 4: Has never been twenty first, twenty and four as currently
- 27:28Speaker 4: currently in a twenty first season. That's insane. Yeah, I
- 27:30Speaker 4: mean good for them, right.
- 27:31Speaker 2: What about them? Yeah? Good on them. What is the
- 27:35Speaker 2: blocked number price? The price to block a number? It
- 27:38Speaker 2: costs something the millhouse? Oh no, idea, it costs three
- 27:42Speaker 2: sixty five, three sixty five.
- 27:44Speaker 4: Oh yes, okay, I'll get you. Yeah, because you mean
- 27:47Speaker 4: like turn color idea off? Well, is what blocking means?
- 27:51Speaker 2: Barker's mill has to check that out? Yeah, blocked? That
- 27:53Speaker 2: costs three sixty five?
- 27:54Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, I thought I was confused there, I thought
- 27:57Speaker 4: when he said that, I thought, is this just some
- 27:59Speaker 4: old outdore thing where if you call him from this
- 28:01Speaker 4: area it's a minute or something.
- 28:03Speaker 2: I phrased that inelegantly. It's not your fault. It makes
- 28:05Speaker 2: perfect sense. All right.
- 28:06Speaker 4: Now, let's blame the episode. What do the hobos refer
- 28:09Speaker 4: to themselves? The shampedosapinos? Yes, in Aspen. You want to
- 28:15Speaker 4: hear us talk about Aspen?
- 28:16Speaker 2: Wow, we're really good at Uh? Did we already spread?
- 28:19Speaker 2: Just we just spread going down to South Park? But
- 28:21Speaker 2: we'll do it again with the what would you do?
- 28:23Speaker 2: What would you do? I think it was where were you?
- 28:27Speaker 2: Isn't it? Where were you? You and the world stuff turning. Yeah,
- 28:32Speaker 2: I should have listened to actually to that song.
- 28:34Speaker 4: It's Alan Jackson, right, el Jackson. But yeah, it makes
- 28:39Speaker 4: no sense to anyone but me because you told that
- 28:41Speaker 4: story about the country music festival.
- 28:43Speaker 2: I think you told on the podcast. I know. But
- 28:45Speaker 2: it's also a sound bug ben because Michael Jackson. Yeah, yeah,
- 28:49Speaker 2: everything I do has like multiple meanings. All right, Jackson,
- 28:56Speaker 2: I went to a country music festival and everyone's very,
- 28:58Speaker 2: very thrilled to see Alan Jackson.
- 28:59Speaker 4: I'm like, but let's get into a review, shall we?
- 29:01Speaker 4: Of Double Double every questions? I know, because you ruined
- 29:04Speaker 4: my first one, which was the Daily Grown.
- 29:06Speaker 2: Ah, that's a.
- 29:08Speaker 4: Great name, and your questions for me then I thought,
- 29:12Speaker 4: she is your favorite part of the show. You're also
- 29:14Speaker 4: eager to make sure you get all your questions out.
- 29:17Speaker 2: I don't have to. I have one more, but how
- 29:20Speaker 2: about we do it during the during the actual review.
- 29:23Speaker 2: That way we can get to the fireworks factory we can.
- 29:25Speaker 4: Indeed, so The original edit was October nineteenth, two thousand
- 29:28Speaker 4: and eight of Double Double Boy in Trouble. Kab F
- 29:31Speaker 4: one four was the production code written by Bill oden Court,
- 29:33Speaker 4: directed by Nancy Cruz. I did feel like this had
- 29:36Speaker 4: a woman's perspective when it came to the march scenes.
- 29:39Speaker 4: At least, I wouldn't have been surprise if Carolyn Emine
- 29:41Speaker 4: wrote this. She's just really good at those emotional beats.
- 29:44Speaker 4: I thought the scenes were. The tuckins were not emotional,
- 29:47Speaker 4: but they had heart to them.
- 29:49Speaker 2: It just emphasized that more. As someone who likes doing dishes,
- 29:52Speaker 2: I was a big fan of Marge's Scrubbing You song.
- 29:55Speaker 2: You've mentioned that recently. You loved on the dishes.
- 29:56Speaker 4: Yeah, I do, I said to Nilan the other day,
- 29:58Speaker 4: because Nick, this thing right we're doing the dishes is
- 30:01Speaker 4: she'll do them, but do you dry as you clean?
- 30:05Speaker 4: Nicolas stacked them up on the side.
- 30:07Speaker 2: And it let them dry. Let him here drivers for
- 30:12Speaker 2: a little while at least, because all it takes is
- 30:14Speaker 2: one kid to come around and try and take a
- 30:16Speaker 2: glass off and they all fall down. Well that's true.
- 30:18Speaker 2: I mean, I don't have to worry about this. The
- 30:19Speaker 2: only small creature that's gonna tip shit over at my
- 30:22Speaker 2: place is basically the cat.
- 30:23Speaker 4: Yeah, and he's done it and he will do it. Yes,
- 30:27Speaker 4: Joe Montana, I guess that is himself. We can I
- 30:31Speaker 4: give I guess it's a great name, Joe Montana?
- 30:34Speaker 2: What I mean? Did this his actual name? Do you
- 30:36Speaker 2: think his actual name is Joseph Montana?
- 30:38Speaker 4: Yeah, he's like he's that had the same name or something.
- 30:40Speaker 2: He's like a junior. Oh okay, pretty sure. See Dallas Cowboys,
- 30:43Speaker 2: forty nine Ers, San Francisco. Okay, interesting, I had to
- 30:49Speaker 2: think about that for a second. Played flight twenty years
- 30:52Speaker 2: or something with the forty nine Ers. Okay, I knew
- 30:54Speaker 2: it was some like iconic ish team. Yeah, they're all
- 30:58Speaker 2: iconic in their own.
- 30:59Speaker 4: Ways, but is is Joseph Clifford Montana junior?
- 31:02Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 31:03Speaker 4: Nickname Joe Cool and the comeback Kid the cover kids.
- 31:06Speaker 2: So good, isn't it? Oh my god? Because you've been good?
- 31:11Speaker 4: Like I guess what, I'm back one another championship and
- 31:14Speaker 4: come back kid by the way, Joe Cool here. That's
- 31:17Speaker 4: basically like what Jordan did. Jordan one three fucked off
- 31:21Speaker 4: to do space here and come back one another three
- 31:24Speaker 4: because he felt like it.
- 31:27Speaker 2: There was like some conspiracy theory going around that Jordan
- 31:32Speaker 2: was like busted for sports gambling or something and that's
- 31:35Speaker 2: why he went off to play baseball for a couple
- 31:36Speaker 2: of years. It's like, we can't have you in the league.
- 31:39Speaker 2: You know it's going to come out, you know, but
- 31:41Speaker 2: if you walk away with your own volition for a
- 31:43Speaker 2: little while, let the heat die down, then come back.
- 31:46Speaker 2: Give be the comeback kid. But you know it's getting
- 31:48Speaker 2: it's getting too hot.
- 31:49Speaker 4: I feel like they would have covered that in his
- 31:51Speaker 4: documentary if it was true.
- 31:53Speaker 2: Well, the last dance. I think the last dance was
- 31:55Speaker 2: very Michael Jordan's sort of sanctioned. I don't think he
- 31:58Speaker 2: would have I don't think he would have bothered him
- 32:00Speaker 2: with that. How to come out? Who can tell?
- 32:01Speaker 4: What I do like about the season twenty so far
- 32:04Speaker 4: so they've been giving us the full intro. I'm feeling
- 32:07Speaker 4: that maybe because in a few episodes we're losing it.
- 32:10Speaker 4: I enjoy this whilst you've got it because they go
- 32:12Speaker 4: HD soon.
- 32:13Speaker 2: Oh my gosh.
- 32:14Speaker 4: Yeah, So the original era of The Simpsons will officially
- 32:18Speaker 4: be over in a few more weeks. Here in four
- 32:20Speaker 4: figure discount we were doing the HD era. Wow, it's
- 32:23Speaker 4: look and feel different. It's gonna be strange.
- 32:25Speaker 2: Will the show be different? Well, Mitch is coming back.
- 32:31Speaker 2: It was fun. While at last.
- 32:35Speaker 4: The HD E actually stands for I've got a new
- 32:36Speaker 4: guy called Harry Dorman coming in.
- 32:41Speaker 2: Damn him. What's on the board.
- 32:44Speaker 4: So the chop World gag is there is no such
- 32:47Speaker 4: month as October.
- 32:48Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure there is.
- 32:49Speaker 4: If you asked the marketing teams, Oh, absolutely yeah, And
- 32:51Speaker 4: the couch gag was the one that you want to
- 32:53Speaker 4: talk about this, so go for it.
- 32:54Speaker 2: Well, yeah, it's a reverse Wizard of Oz in that
- 32:56Speaker 2: they're leaving color and they go to CPR when they
- 32:58Speaker 2: actually end up in oys. But it is all unified
- 33:01Speaker 2: theory of four finger discount strikes again because Wicked is
- 33:03Speaker 2: in cinemas right now, we could part one, one might say.
- 33:06Speaker 2: And also the Wizard of Oz was on TV the
- 33:08Speaker 2: other night and we talked about it on what did
- 33:12Speaker 2: we record the other day? Going down to South Buck.
- 33:14Speaker 4: So the episode kicks off of Homer shopping with Bart
- 33:16Speaker 4: and Maggie barsh just being reckless and naughty for the
- 33:19Speaker 4: sake of it being a little shit being a shithead. Indeed, Yeah,
- 33:22Speaker 4: it's going to the supermarket with a kid. It's just
- 33:25Speaker 4: a mixed bag mate.
- 33:26Speaker 2: It's lucky dip.
- 33:27Speaker 4: Sometimes I'll well behave sometimes they get it's usually by
- 33:30Speaker 4: the time you just say, there's fifteen arles and supermarket.
- 33:32Speaker 4: Right by the time we get to Aisle ten eleven,
- 33:35Speaker 4: they've had enough. Oh okay, Yeah, it's just and that's
- 33:37Speaker 4: when novel is worn off. And that's when the shitcause's
- 33:39Speaker 4: when they finish their lollipop. That's when the ship show starts.
- 33:43Speaker 4: And it's just I've just got two miles.
- 33:44Speaker 2: But yeah, you say when they finished their lollipop? Do
- 33:48Speaker 2: you mean they finished their lolly? Yes, you have to
- 33:52Speaker 2: listen to all of our podcasts. To understand why that Joe.
- 33:54Speaker 4: Ain't going to tell you have to find all the
- 33:55Speaker 4: other podcasts.
- 33:56Speaker 2: So listen to them all, maybe twice.
- 33:58Speaker 4: But then I poo offers home the last scratchy just
- 34:01Speaker 4: sort of make him a bit Have you looked last cutchy?
- 34:02Speaker 4: Sometimes lucky, sometimes it's not, but distraction no by threatening
- 34:05Speaker 4: to jump onto a trolley full of shallows marshmallows, so
- 34:09Speaker 4: Homer goes to stop him. Len He ends up buying
- 34:11Speaker 4: the scratchy and wins fifty thousand dollars. Now this party
- 34:13Speaker 4: simply was worth more than fifty thousand dollars just f yi.
- 34:16Speaker 2: Yeah, oh goodness it yeah, yeah, but you can't buy However,
- 34:19Speaker 2: many rooms he got for No.
- 34:22Speaker 4: They should have made something to striving onwe hundred and
- 34:23Speaker 4: fifty thousand or something crazy. But then Lenne would have
- 34:25Speaker 4: seemed like Antrue absolute dickhead, right, I mean he still
- 34:28Speaker 4: looks like a dickhead fifty kight on your friends, but
- 34:30Speaker 4: just a good guy. But yeah, so another ironic tale
- 34:33Speaker 4: of the quickie comic as a poop points out here,
- 34:35Speaker 4: which is the tale of the crypt I guess, so, yeah,
- 34:38Speaker 4: tail it looks like and covered, isn't it. I've never
- 34:42Speaker 4: revisited the film since I was a kid, but it
- 34:44Speaker 4: was also always one of those covers that those Tales
- 34:46Speaker 4: on the Dark Side was the film.
- 34:48Speaker 2: It looked creepy as shit.
- 34:50Speaker 4: It's not bad so that the one that has the
- 34:52Speaker 4: kid being threatened to be cooked in an oven as
- 34:54Speaker 4: like the through lines it's like a creep show. Nah,
- 34:58Speaker 4: I don't think it's creep It's like three stories, is
- 35:01Speaker 4: it is? And then there's like someone throw into cook
- 35:04Speaker 4: a child as like the bit in between each story, right.
- 35:07Speaker 2: I can't recall, Actually I do not tells the Dark
- 35:11Speaker 2: Side like eighty eight feels like an eighty nine er
- 35:14Speaker 2: maybe a ninety turns on dark side movie show it
- 35:18Speaker 2: was ninety Yeah, well done. It just sounds cool.
- 35:22Speaker 4: Oh your tails from the dark side, but he wins.
- 35:27Speaker 4: Lenny wins and points it out to Homer. Oh, well
- 35:29Speaker 4: you would have won this if you had have bought
- 35:30Speaker 4: the thing. So Home is furious. He says he cost
- 35:32Speaker 4: me twoentyre thousand dollars because he was going to do
- 35:34Speaker 4: better on the dogs. Yes, Marge, then unpacks or the
- 35:37Speaker 4: shopping it's been packed up and scratched up in a rage.
- 35:40Speaker 2: Well it's because I'm was very man at Bart who's
- 35:43Speaker 2: becoming what he calls her Dennis level menace.
- 35:45Speaker 4: Then Homer points out, well he costs two undred thousand dollars.
- 35:47Speaker 4: No longer okay with this is March No, and she
- 35:50Speaker 4: squeezes the turkey up. So presses her rage, squeeze it up,
- 35:52Speaker 4: feeds it to the dog. It expands in the dog.
- 35:55Speaker 4: Then Homer goes to Mo's where Lenny is buying all
- 35:57Speaker 4: the drinks and oh, actually, this is one of my
- 35:59Speaker 4: favorite moments class mohir oh.
- 36:01Speaker 5: Cheer up Home the drinks around Lennyn't you're pretty boo Joe?
- 36:05Speaker 2: Pay for it? My job.
- 36:06Speaker 5: I gotta check with Lenny on Dad Nope, Lucky Lenny's
- 36:10Speaker 5: buying all the drinks tonight.
- 36:11Speaker 2: Sorry, Homer, but here's a compromise. Why don't you bold
- 36:14Speaker 2: pay for the drink and tip?
- 36:18Speaker 4: And he says You're going to spend the remaining money
- 36:20Speaker 4: on a kick ass party for all his friends. I
- 36:21Speaker 4: thought Barney crying here.
- 36:23Speaker 2: Was really weird. Yeah, I'd go anywhere. It was just, ah,
- 36:27Speaker 2: that's just like, is this a reference to something?
- 36:29Speaker 4: It felt like that, didn't it? You know, this is
- 36:31Speaker 4: just all the time we go. This has to be something.
- 36:33Speaker 4: It's true, it's too odd.
- 36:35Speaker 2: Is there like iconic footage of some Beatles fan like
- 36:39Speaker 2: going wild for the Beatles at Shay Stadium or something?
- 36:43Speaker 2: It's not Maybe, yeah, it feels like it should be something,
- 36:46Speaker 2: but it's not instantly familiar enough that you're going to go.
- 36:50Speaker 2: They're paying tribute to this.
- 36:52Speaker 4: Yeah, the family are all leaving for Lenny's party. Meanwhile,
- 36:55Speaker 4: Bart is not dressed yet, not ready. He's instead of
- 36:57Speaker 4: aiming a water gunful of cat pee at Rod and Tide.
- 37:00Speaker 4: What was my was Marget the front looking for Bart?
- 37:02Speaker 4: Is that why she he ends up shooting her?
- 37:04Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a really good question, because Marge gets into
- 37:06Speaker 2: the Spi're all getting ready to go, yeah, and not
- 37:09Speaker 2: even ready to go read.
- 37:10Speaker 4: The lead, yes, and Bart just shoots her with what
- 37:12Speaker 4: was water this morning? And then now marches to wear
- 37:15Speaker 4: her backup dress as a result, and Nelon makes fun
- 37:18Speaker 4: of that shape and she says she's got makes it okay,
- 37:21Speaker 4: arms look fat in this dress. Newlson makes fun of her.
- 37:24Speaker 4: You feel self conscious haha, And Homer says he blames Marchie.
- 37:29Speaker 4: The reason he's like this because you had that sip
- 37:30Speaker 4: of alcohol when you were drunk. Marge's reaction to it
- 37:34Speaker 4: is very Marge, but Homer saying it's your fault. It's like,
- 37:37Speaker 4: how was just a dick from go to woe? Yeah,
- 37:40Speaker 4: this episode yeah, no good at all, which I think
- 37:44Speaker 4: stands out and brings an episode down. Oh yeah, because
- 37:46Speaker 4: you're paying so much attention to it. It's annoying in
- 37:48Speaker 4: a way. But Marge responded that ways that was unforgivable,
- 37:52Speaker 4: this little sip. I did like the animation of like
- 37:55Speaker 4: it hitting Bart and then like the spikes popping up
- 37:57Speaker 4: and whatnot.
- 37:58Speaker 2: Yeah, and you're gonna give it a damien omen music and.
- 38:00Speaker 4: Yeah, so then I'm glad you brought that up because
- 38:03Speaker 4: I knew it was something that music. What is it? Yeah,
- 38:06Speaker 4: the omen music. I like, I think I add something
- 38:08Speaker 4: to the I had a couple of things. But she
- 38:13Speaker 4: thinks that the bad behavior now is more than just
- 38:15Speaker 4: a phase. And then Bart is flicking Robert Cement onto
- 38:19Speaker 4: Lisa that he's been storing up his nose, and Homer
- 38:21Speaker 4: threats to drive him.
- 38:22Speaker 2: Into a tree, and I was like, this is so stupid.
- 38:25Speaker 2: Stop flicking boggers, Stop threatening to drive into trees. I'm like, what,
- 38:30Speaker 2: why are you threatened to drive into a tree. It's
- 38:32Speaker 2: just so it's not funny. I'll played Devil's advoct for
- 38:34Speaker 2: a moment and say, Okay, this is a weird, exaggerated
- 38:40Speaker 2: extrapolation of the threat your dad always made, like don't
- 38:43Speaker 2: make me turn this car around. I think that's that's
- 38:46Speaker 2: the only rationale that I can give you. It's like, okay, Well,
- 38:50Speaker 2: maybe they're like, well, what if your dad threatened to
- 38:52Speaker 2: drive into a tree instead of saying, oh, don't maybe
- 38:54Speaker 2: turn this car around, don't maybe drive into a tree.
- 38:56Speaker 4: Wouldn't that be funny? Maybe I think Classic would have
- 39:00Speaker 4: done what they exactly would have done here. They could
- 39:01Speaker 4: have had that line, I'll drive this into a tree.
- 39:04Speaker 4: Marge would have gone Home, I known, he goes, Marge,
- 39:06Speaker 4: you're ruin.
- 39:07Speaker 2: I'm not actually like that.
- 39:08Speaker 4: There would have been some joke like that or even
- 39:11Speaker 4: like he was going to drive into a tree. That's
- 39:13Speaker 4: that's that's that's what made it stupid. It wasn't just
- 39:15Speaker 4: a threat.
- 39:15Speaker 2: What are you going to do it that way? Then?
- 39:17Speaker 2: You know, spice up the visuals a bit, make it
- 39:18Speaker 2: into like a like a real battle of wills between
- 39:23Speaker 2: Homer and Barton, sort of go when you're driving cars
- 39:27Speaker 2: like chicken chicken, Yeah, yeah, close into the close up
- 39:29Speaker 2: on the eyes, close up on the knuckles on the
- 39:32Speaker 2: on the steering wheel, who's going to break first? All
- 39:34Speaker 2: that kind of stuff. I don't know. I think that
- 39:36Speaker 2: could be still be a stupid It was a stupid
- 39:38Speaker 2: bit of way to make this joke a little more
- 39:42Speaker 2: I don't give it a little more flavored sometance, Yeah,
- 39:44Speaker 2: a little more spice. It's just the fact that Home
- 39:45Speaker 2: I was willing to risk the lives of his family
- 39:48Speaker 2: because but was being yeah, yeah, there's a way to
- 39:52Speaker 2: make it. Homer being kind of a stubborn.
- 39:55Speaker 4: Speaking before thinking yes, opposed to driving driving and go
- 40:00Speaker 4: a tree and then avoiding it as opposed to being
- 40:02Speaker 4: like an angry, vindictive psycho, and then he could have
- 40:06Speaker 4: had and that's Lisa saying something like and that's why,
- 40:09Speaker 4: by the way, is because you never follow through with
- 40:10Speaker 4: your threats. And then Marshall said, what do you want
- 40:13Speaker 4: us a fault drive into a tree something like that.
- 40:15Speaker 2: All then home. It's kind of like, if you show
- 40:17Speaker 2: up my inconsistencies again, I'll drive right into this tree.
- 40:20Speaker 2: And then he tries, he starts to do it. Are
- 40:22Speaker 2: make it, make it funny, this is normally a comedy.
- 40:26Speaker 2: Make it feel like.
- 40:27Speaker 4: We're actually going, actually and genuinely fixing these episodes.
- 40:30Speaker 2: I think so.
- 40:31Speaker 4: And it has taken us five minutes each time.
- 40:36Speaker 2: You realize your pals Bill Oakley and Met Selmon and
- 40:39Speaker 2: just listening.
- 40:39Speaker 4: To this going Bill he threw the town in many
- 40:42Speaker 4: years before this one.
- 40:44Speaker 2: I was going to say, I won't jump to what
- 40:47Speaker 2: a lord, but yeah, Bill Oakley has now just got
- 40:49Speaker 2: a new second career. Is just sampling just over the
- 40:52Speaker 2: Steve Hans guy, Steve's Hams guy. He found something really
- 40:55Speaker 2: seemingly delicious the other day where he's like, oh, someone
- 40:59Speaker 2: sent me the yuzu from you send me from Japan,
- 41:04Speaker 2: the Yuzu seven spice dipping sauce for chicken mcnuggers. I'm like,
- 41:08Speaker 2: I loved yuzu flavor. That's fat. Oh my god, this
- 41:11Speaker 2: sounds so good.
- 41:13Speaker 4: I struggle with watching people start like the fast food
- 41:17Speaker 4: eating thing. Right, when people eat food, it's kind of
- 41:19Speaker 4: weirdness in their car that's like biting a boot like
- 41:23Speaker 4: and I'm like, oh, this is kind of weird anyway.
- 41:25Speaker 4: But when you when you're starting to see them progressively
- 41:28Speaker 4: gain weight, You're like, I'm supporting weight gain here.
- 41:31Speaker 2: This isn't great. Well did we speak to Bill about this?
- 41:35Speaker 2: Have we ever spoken to or.
- 41:37Speaker 4: We did speak to Bill about seam ham society, which
- 41:39Speaker 4: is he's seeing he's got Yeah, I think yeah.
- 41:41Speaker 2: Was there asking like, doe you concerned about, you know,
- 41:45Speaker 2: becoming a big boy a big buy I'm keeping my
- 41:51Speaker 2: own things and now I'm not eating like this all
- 41:53Speaker 2: the time and I only have little bits and all
- 41:55Speaker 2: this kind of stuff. It's like, okay, well what do
- 41:56Speaker 2: you Bill? We love we love you, Bill, Yes, we
- 41:59Speaker 2: love what you but you know, be more steamed things
- 42:03Speaker 2: this hand things.
- 42:08Speaker 4: Anyway, So yeah, home has threatened to drive him to
- 42:10Speaker 4: the tree. Blah blah blah, oh stupidity. Right, the dinner
- 42:12Speaker 4: party now, and I'm like, this isn't the party I expected.
- 42:17Speaker 2: Party is not. This is meal. Well, this is an
- 42:20Speaker 2: event it is and look, you could be the Simpsons
- 42:25Speaker 2: writers could be very well saying that's the joke when
- 42:27Speaker 2: it's like, this isn't so much a cool party for
- 42:29Speaker 2: Lenny's friends. It's more like this is me, Lenny Big,
- 42:32Speaker 2: noting himself a bit doing the real I guess humble
- 42:34Speaker 2: brag of like thank you for being a friend. And
- 42:36Speaker 2: it's like, but really, you're just kind of like putting
- 42:38Speaker 2: up signs saying Lenny's great or you know, friending all
- 42:42Speaker 2: these different languages, but really the keyword is Lenny here.
- 42:45Speaker 4: It would have been nice to have had one of
- 42:46Speaker 4: the Golden Girls appear as a guest.
- 42:48Speaker 2: That's trick. Yeah you get yeah, Betty water room clan,
- 42:53Speaker 2: where's my money?
- 42:54Speaker 4: When you walk up to one of them, it's just
- 42:56Speaker 4: Betty sitting there saying thank you for being a friend
- 42:58Speaker 4: to Betty.
- 42:58Speaker 2: Betty are you yeah? Like they check didn't clear? Yeah,
- 43:04Speaker 2: something like that.
- 43:04Speaker 4: Yeah, But he sings the Golden Girls theme I mean,
- 43:07Speaker 4: I'm always a sucker for the Golden Girls theme, you are,
- 43:09Speaker 4: It always just makes me happy. Yeah, Barney is glad
- 43:12Speaker 4: that he's gets getting to take the centerpiece home. He's
- 43:14Speaker 4: gonna put on his mum's grave.
- 43:15Speaker 2: Mentions.
- 43:16Speaker 4: Gift bags here, which are I don't remember as a
- 43:19Speaker 4: kid going to a birthday party and never getting a
- 43:20Speaker 4: gift bag. But man, kids, these days it's a thing.
- 43:24Speaker 4: It is a party now, you judge. I think I
- 43:27Speaker 4: may have said it's judge a pub by how good
- 43:29Speaker 4: their party is. Kids, judge a party by how good
- 43:31Speaker 4: the party bag?
- 43:32Speaker 2: Take away? And there's no party bag. The kids are
- 43:35Speaker 2: not happy. That's so weird because I mean simply when
- 43:38Speaker 2: I was growing, occasionally you've got to take away bag,
- 43:41Speaker 2: but it was we didn't need all the lollies. Yeah.
- 43:45Speaker 2: Actually I don't remember actually ever get anyone. I don't
- 43:48Speaker 2: maybe it didn't happen all the time. It's just like
- 43:50Speaker 2: a bag. Now they're getting all this extra stuff, like Elliott,
- 43:54Speaker 2: like they presenting at the Oscars or something. They got
- 43:56Speaker 2: one from one of his friends school and had lego
- 43:58Speaker 2: in it. What a little lego?
- 43:59Speaker 3: Ki?
- 44:01Speaker 4: I was like, I said to you, spent on the
- 44:04Speaker 4: arey spent like twenty bucks in each one. I was like,
- 44:07Speaker 4: ach one the gift back what I don't spent much
- 44:11Speaker 4: of new kids president And I was.
- 44:12Speaker 2: Literally pulling the home alone face. I couldn't literally slapping
- 44:15Speaker 2: his hands to his cheek.
- 44:16Speaker 4: And this guy she would have had, he must have
- 44:18Speaker 4: spent twentyred bucks on gift bags. He's like, oh, I
- 44:20Speaker 4: just I love making a big event for the kids
- 44:22Speaker 4: and stuff. And I was like, how was the kid
- 44:23Speaker 4: of this day? This is it was her sixth party?
- 44:26Speaker 2: Na, no, no, I'm going to remember this then that
- 44:29Speaker 2: lego is going to go into landfill. Yeah, forget about it.
- 44:31Speaker 2: But it wasn't go you know, I'll be like, you
- 44:34Speaker 2: know what, you go to the party. You're got a party.
- 44:36Speaker 4: The party descended into madness though, and it was great
- 44:38Speaker 4: in a sense that the dad was just like a
- 44:40Speaker 4: big kid, right, So clearly it made sense why he
- 44:42Speaker 4: spent with money on the gift aggs.
- 44:43Speaker 2: But they had all this ship.
- 44:45Speaker 4: Organized that we're gonna bring it. We've paid to have
- 44:48Speaker 4: this scientist come and do a science show and all
- 44:50Speaker 4: this fucking and like like a petting zoo thing in
- 44:52Speaker 4: the back, blah blah, blah, what the fuck? And the
- 44:54Speaker 4: dad just brings out some NERF guns and a kid's
- 44:56Speaker 4: like no fud and all these kids it was no shit.
- 44:59Speaker 4: He had like twe NERF guns because he goes. I
- 45:01Speaker 4: went to like marketplace and this guy was just selling
- 45:03Speaker 4: those NERF guns I was born for like fifty bucks.
- 45:05Speaker 4: And the kids just shot NERF guns each other like
- 45:07Speaker 4: two hours, using like just shooting things around. And the
- 45:11Speaker 4: parents were backyard. We're getting shot with the nerves, and
- 45:13Speaker 4: someone were just like, I'm going in dad.
- 45:16Speaker 2: But you know that they think this dad might be
- 45:18Speaker 2: a secret genius though.
- 45:19Speaker 4: You know that, you know the chaos music of the
- 45:21Speaker 4: Simpsons when there's a riot, That was the reason that
- 45:24Speaker 4: was going in my head. And all these parents getting
- 45:25Speaker 4: shot with nerves and it's slowly all just gravitating towards indoors,
- 45:30Speaker 4: and the kids were just and the dad's out there
- 45:31Speaker 4: just going just shooting kids in their head and what
- 45:34Speaker 4: I'm just like, whatever, I have a great time to
- 45:37Speaker 4: hide in the cuby house, to hide mine in the shed.
- 45:39Speaker 4: They would just nerve there was nerves and they was
- 45:40Speaker 4: shooting them over the fence and see how high they
- 45:42Speaker 4: can get it. The guy's like, I don't care how
- 45:43Speaker 4: to pay fifty bucks for him. I'm like, if I
- 45:46Speaker 4: was a six year old, this seems like the ultimate party.
- 45:50Speaker 2: Then you also get the gift back. Yeah, I mean
- 45:52Speaker 2: this dad seems like real King of the Kids stuff. Yeah,
- 45:56Speaker 2: in a good in good ways and bad. Yeah, just
- 45:58Speaker 2: watch out for that van. What is not funny? Well,
- 46:06Speaker 2: can we even cem let's say it's not funny? CM molestation,
- 46:12Speaker 2: no child abduction? Your fullest day of the episode?
- 46:15Speaker 1: Oh?
- 46:15Speaker 2: I well, stations funny either.
- 46:19Speaker 4: Yes, I'm well aware. Just made a reference to an
- 46:22Speaker 4: episode that's true. I was like, because what is not funny?
- 46:26Speaker 4: CHARLT melestation?
- 46:27Speaker 2: Yes, answer, child rebduction is not funny either. Recently covered
- 46:35Speaker 2: on going down to sat Yes, indeed. Yeah, but I
- 46:37Speaker 2: mean it was a fun party in the sense that
- 46:39Speaker 2: I'm like, this is just chaos. It was just chaos.
- 46:43Speaker 2: But yeah, gift backs.
- 46:44Speaker 4: So but it goes through the gift bags and realize
- 46:46Speaker 4: that they all have robo vacuums in there. The Rumba
- 46:50Speaker 4: Nicola really wants a robo vacuum, and I'm just one
- 46:52Speaker 4: of those people that has to see them work before
- 46:55Speaker 4: I buy into it. We've got friends are like, oh, yeah,
- 46:57Speaker 4: they're great, and I'm like, are they? But how is
- 46:59Speaker 4: it going to their legs?
- 47:00Speaker 2: The chair? They must work, but I have to see
- 47:04Speaker 2: it work before I'll fully commit. I agree with you
- 47:06Speaker 2: on this. Yes, I recently bought a dice in the
- 47:09Speaker 2: vacuum clean which I'm very happy with. I like I
- 47:13Speaker 2: like hand washing dishes. I like doing the vacuuming myself.
- 47:16Speaker 2: I feel like I've done something, like I've earned my
- 47:19Speaker 2: clean house.
- 47:20Speaker 4: So then he opens the door or so who oppens?
- 47:24Speaker 4: I think maybe mid Lenny. Someone happens the door for
- 47:26Speaker 4: the for the party bags whatever.
- 47:27Speaker 2: He does because he wants to show off his gift back.
- 47:29Speaker 4: Yes, and all of the vacuums come out and they
- 47:31Speaker 4: go crazy. I did like some of the visual gags
- 47:33Speaker 4: he like sucking up Moleman and whatnot, going largest hair. Yeah,
- 47:36Speaker 4: this looked cool. Wigham ends up shooting them all though,
- 47:38Speaker 4: and he says they've been switched to is it malevolent
- 47:41Speaker 4: sentience or something something like that.
- 47:43Speaker 2: And then, by the way, one of my trivia questions
- 47:45Speaker 2: was what is the name brand of the the robot
- 47:48Speaker 2: vacuum cleaner? We just said it. I forgot it already.
- 47:50Speaker 2: What was it. I didn't say it, no, but well,
- 47:53Speaker 2: the best one known is known as a rumba actual brander.
- 47:56Speaker 2: I don't think they've got the actual or was it here?
- 47:58Speaker 2: They called it a vacuum bot a VECB you bought
- 48:00Speaker 2: all right?
- 48:01Speaker 4: If you're a fan of everything we do here at

- 48:30Speaker 5: Oh, Bart, I've had it with you. I'm taking away
- 48:34Speaker 5: all your TV privileges. You already did that, okay, then
- 48:37Speaker 5: video games that too? No more non dice board games.
- 48:42Speaker 5: What you can't take my boulder dish?
- 48:44Speaker 1: I just did.
- 48:46Speaker 4: He's confused though here and this was where I was like,
- 48:49Speaker 4: you need to dove into this, right, But they just
- 48:51Speaker 4: threw this story out for a cheap visual gag, which
- 48:54Speaker 4: which word of the color and the N and n's
- 48:56Speaker 4: as opposed to EM and m's, which is funny because
- 48:59Speaker 4: Holly calls them and ends, but bartis confused, why am
- 49:03Speaker 4: I not?
- 49:03Speaker 2: I don't mean to be bad? Like why am I?
- 49:05Speaker 2: Why am I like this way?
- 49:07Speaker 4: And then just cuts to that because you're feeding yourself. Yeah,
- 49:10Speaker 4: so that could have been a story threat for saying
- 49:12Speaker 4: I don't mean to be this way.
- 49:13Speaker 2: I would have liked if they had started up until
- 49:16Speaker 2: this very moment that he's popping chocolate or drinking carbonated
- 49:19Speaker 2: beverages or whatever, or.
- 49:21Speaker 4: He could have been recording when he got to the
- 49:23Speaker 4: to the vacuum. It could have been a case of
- 49:25Speaker 4: him not going, well, this looks good, going oh, I
- 49:28Speaker 4: really should not do it, but the vacuum is saying,
- 49:30Speaker 4: come on, you turn us on, and he goes it
- 49:34Speaker 4: was the vacuums.
- 49:37Speaker 2: Or that there's even lollies in the gift bags that
- 49:40Speaker 2: he's come and he's getting more and more fired up
- 49:43Speaker 2: the more he does it.
- 49:43Speaker 4: Yes, but he wishes he had a different family. Q
- 49:46Speaker 4: Simon Worcesterfield. And then we also got the who is
- 49:49Speaker 4: exactly a picker of butar just with glasses and from
- 49:52Speaker 4: rich family. And then an older version arrives as well,
- 49:54Speaker 4: who has married a girl.
- 49:55Speaker 2: Looks very much like a millionhouse.
- 49:57Speaker 4: Yes, we come out for commercial and I both say
- 49:59Speaker 4: that their lives a great. They want to do the swap.
- 50:00Speaker 4: Blah blah blah blah. Homie wants to punish but tells
- 50:03Speaker 4: Barke get out. He wanted to punish you before I
- 50:05Speaker 4: get drunk and merciful. So they swap the info. Here again,
- 50:09Speaker 4: Homer just whatever. I'm just skimming past home and now
- 50:11Speaker 4: because it's just horrible in this episode we know is horrible. Yes,
- 50:14Speaker 4: I like that they swap the info. He's like, my
- 50:15Speaker 4: dad's name's home, my mum's name is mum. And then
- 50:18Speaker 4: the contrast is my butler's name is this, My horse's
- 50:20Speaker 4: name is this.
- 50:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 50:22Speaker 4: So he tells the driver as he's driving off in
- 50:24Speaker 4: the limo to laugh at which is Simon getting choked
- 50:27Speaker 4: by Homer because Homer is a bad father. He arrives
- 50:30Speaker 4: at the or he's driving past. It's all the McMansions, McDonald's,
- 50:34Speaker 4: dreamy McSteamy, Fleetwood, mac mcaulay, Colkenman I liked this little
- 50:38Speaker 4: piss take here because it happens a lot in these
- 50:40Speaker 4: kind of films.
- 50:40Speaker 2: Whatever your house, sir.
- 50:42Speaker 4: Although you already knew that, why did you introduce that?
- 50:45Speaker 4: Actually said this last time we watched an episode of
- 50:47Speaker 4: Monk season three, they go to Vegas, one of the
- 50:49Speaker 4: best episodes of the series so far. Right, yes, Monk
- 50:51Speaker 4: goes to Vegas, but they were walking into the casino
- 50:55Speaker 4: and it's now Sharon from two guys going a pizza play,
- 50:58Speaker 4: she's the new assistant, right, and she says it happens
- 51:01Speaker 4: in so many films or TV shows based on episode
- 51:04Speaker 4: in Las Vegas. Welcome to Vegas, mister Monk. And I'm like,
- 51:08Speaker 4: you've obviously arrived, checked into your hotel, done a few things.
- 51:12Speaker 4: You're walking half, you're half in the casino, you're in
- 51:15Speaker 4: there while you now just all of a sudden go
- 51:17Speaker 4: welcome to Vegas, mister Monks. Like it's caused the opening
- 51:19Speaker 4: scene of the episode. Yeah, it's like it's it's stupid,
- 51:22Speaker 4: but it's totty much this. Well, here's here's your house, sir.
- 51:25Speaker 4: Old that you already knew that.
- 51:27Speaker 2: I think I've said it before. Were the normal I
- 51:30Speaker 2: don't know if they've given a name to the cliche.
- 51:32Speaker 2: But you hear a lot as as you know, Bob,
- 51:36Speaker 2: when someone's got to deliver expositions you come back from
- 51:39Speaker 2: a commercial break, Yeah, or in movies, you know when
- 51:43Speaker 2: I think I remember it most from like you know
- 51:45Speaker 2: that one The Day After Tomorrow where I don't remember
- 51:48Speaker 2: anything about that movie. In some of the shit cgi Wolves, Yeah,
- 51:52Speaker 2: insane weather is just destroying the planet. Yeah, but there's
- 51:56Speaker 2: someone in you know, the main us weather sort of
- 52:00Speaker 2: control players going Dennis Quait is the hero and he's
- 52:02Speaker 2: saying so and so and so and.
- 52:04Speaker 4: So, and his boss goes, yeah, we all know that.
- 52:08Speaker 4: At least you're anowledging it. At least you're acknowledging it
- 52:10Speaker 4: when to at least turn it into a joke. Yeah,
- 52:12Speaker 4: it was just Simpsons often do.
- 52:14Speaker 2: Yeah. Well, I don't think they were doing it as
- 52:15Speaker 2: a joke. In the DA Aftermorrow. I think it's just like, oh, well,
- 52:19Speaker 2: you've got to have a reason why this guy is
- 52:21Speaker 2: saying it all, you know, acknowledge that the people in
- 52:22Speaker 2: the room know this, even though we don't know what.
- 52:24Speaker 4: Yeah, we all know that now. But this is how No,
- 52:28Speaker 4: I'm getting old, but checks out these various rooms. The
- 52:31Speaker 4: best room is the one that he didn't like.
- 52:32Speaker 2: The library. I was like, what a palace. I know,
- 52:36Speaker 2: it's like I would live it here, it looks it
- 52:39Speaker 2: looks unbelievable really to go Why because it would be quiet?
- 52:43Speaker 2: Oh peace, piece of what book were imagine? Just having
- 52:49Speaker 2: a library you can just go to and never be bothered.
- 52:53Speaker 2: So nice. It's just tough life.
- 52:59Speaker 4: Sorry, everything's great, yes, but just piecing quiet you don't
- 53:02Speaker 4: appreciate until you make kids. So he's going to his
- 53:07Speaker 4: bedroom now he's got like I think the ceiling is
- 53:09Speaker 4: from Saddam's pallace. He's racing car bed is actually a
- 53:12Speaker 4: racing car. And then Joe Montana is actually in the
- 53:17Speaker 4: going to say Joe Montana, Joe Montana is actually in
- 53:20Speaker 4: the painting.
- 53:21Speaker 2: It's actually because they give what a million dollars to
- 53:23Speaker 2: not to day.
- 53:24Speaker 4: Yeah, every single day that he does it.
- 53:26Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 53:26Speaker 2: So then he calls Millhouse and said he's going to
- 53:29Speaker 2: be sending a car. It's the thing.
- 53:31Speaker 4: Do we actually see Millhouse at the mansion.
- 53:34Speaker 2: I think we do, don't we does? Because that's it.
- 53:38Speaker 2: He gets a mad crush on the.
- 53:40Speaker 4: On the sister, well on both on both. Yes, that's right. Yeah, okay,
- 53:43Speaker 4: I guess we do get it. Yeah, I just forgot
- 53:45Speaker 4: we forget it.
- 53:46Speaker 2: What are their names again? I didn't say the names.
- 53:49Speaker 2: I do, but they're really sort of offbeat rich names.
- 53:52Speaker 4: I will look it up here because our listeners out
- 53:55Speaker 4: there who aren't going to bother watching the episode and
- 53:57Speaker 4: will want us to tell them all the little detail.
- 54:00Speaker 2: Yeah. Who was our pal who just before said I'm
- 54:03Speaker 2: not really watching season twenty, but you guys are doing
- 54:05Speaker 2: the lord's work. He would be a Stonecutter of ours,
- 54:08Speaker 2: and we know that Stonecutter's name. I sure do. Stonecutter's
- 54:11Speaker 2: name would be one Flemish giant. Oh that's right.
- 54:15Speaker 4: Flemish siblings are Devon Worsterfield and Quenley Wisterfield.
- 54:20Speaker 2: That's right. Apparently he has a grand uncle Cracker. He's
- 54:23Speaker 2: a Cracker executive great grand aunt by marriage Nana Sophie.
- 54:27Speaker 2: So must come back.
- 54:28Speaker 4: Well the first cousin once removed Luanne van Holton. Oh
- 54:32Speaker 4: wait ah, so canon, So he turns out he's related
- 54:36Speaker 4: to interesting first cousin once removed in law. Oh so
- 54:40Speaker 4: he's Lewan's cousin. Oh so this kid spoiler turns out
- 54:44Speaker 4: to be Millhouse's second cousin.
- 54:47Speaker 2: Guys were well ahead of us. Hasn't even been in.
- 54:49Speaker 4: This one episode, though he's made one episode appearance that
- 54:53Speaker 4: was not revealed here, right, No, so there you go.
- 54:56Speaker 4: I'm just trying to work out how that could be.
- 54:59Speaker 4: How could it be canon on Simpson's Wiki that Millhouse
- 55:03Speaker 4: is his second cousin but he only appears in this episode.
- 55:06Speaker 2: Do you think that the person putting you the Simpsons
- 55:09Speaker 2: wiki is just writing their own fan fiction at this stage?
- 55:13Speaker 2: Why not? Because don't forget Dano. We've been fixing episodes
- 55:20Speaker 2: left right. We're not making them cannon. But you know,
- 55:23Speaker 2: maybe this person putting together this entry of the Simpson's Wiki,
- 55:27Speaker 2: it's like spice U up a little bit, a little
- 55:30Speaker 2: uh bab with a speel.
- 55:34Speaker 4: They hit it with the spice wheezel your canon whizzle.
- 55:40Speaker 2: Millhouse second cousin, Well you're really Millhouse's shout to Pamela Hayden.
- 55:45Speaker 2: By the way, what a lady retired from the show?
- 55:48Speaker 4: Millhouse has a lot of cousins apparently, Well, he was
- 55:51Speaker 4: from the from the what's it called the home the
- 55:53Speaker 4: home Country?
- 55:53Speaker 2: What's it called the home country? The Old Country? The
- 55:56Speaker 2: Old Country maybe the Old country, and that sounds like
- 55:58Speaker 2: something to say, if you if you're at yeah, the
- 56:00Speaker 2: old country, in the Old Country. Yeah, but yeah, okay,
- 56:03Speaker 2: were there you go?
- 56:04Speaker 4: Apparently they are second cousins according to Simpson's wiki.
- 56:08Speaker 2: Who knew the person the person who wrote since this
- 56:12Speaker 2: wiki did none of us, no one else did.
- 56:16Speaker 4: Yeah, because apparently Louanne van Houghten is his actual cousin.
- 56:19Speaker 2: Okay, whatever, I myself, I'm not tied up in canon.
- 56:23Speaker 4: So now Simon is not enjoying the unhappy food that
- 56:26Speaker 4: Marge is dished up to him. He's used to eating
- 56:27Speaker 4: healthy food. I was eating it, just being horrible, spinning
- 56:30Speaker 4: all over and talking with his mouthful.
- 56:32Speaker 2: M So I worked at you. We got your memo
- 56:35Speaker 2: saying everyone's getting new chairs.
- 56:38Speaker 1: Father, could you talk?
- 56:39Speaker 2: Love you?
- 56:40Speaker 4: You bet naturally, I've fow my old chairman reductor right away,
- 56:45Speaker 4: he said, no, that was the new chair.
- 56:47Speaker 2: That man was two months old. Don't know. I'm setting
- 56:50Speaker 2: on an orange crete. I never felt you.
- 56:52Speaker 1: He stopped spinning food on me. Keep your meal in
- 56:56Speaker 1: your mouth, you semi literate spew monkey.
- 56:58Speaker 2: Jet jet boy. You're going your bed without topper.
- 57:02Speaker 1: That was an odd thing for Bite to say, maybe
- 57:04Speaker 1: he's going through.
- 57:06Speaker 2: Certain changes, dead boy, think jampaign to put him to
- 57:09Speaker 2: four years of puberty. Forget it.
- 57:12Speaker 4: Honestly, there's not one good version of home so far.
- 57:14Speaker 2: There's there's no redeeming features in this so far. And
- 57:17Speaker 2: also except the he tries to save him. Yeah, I
- 57:19Speaker 2: think they missed a bit where everyone in the Simpsons
- 57:22Speaker 2: family should be enjoying this food. Yeah, this seemingly delicious
- 57:26Speaker 2: soun and meal, even if it's not very healthy or
- 57:28Speaker 2: anything like that, but it feels like every other member
- 57:32Speaker 2: of the family should be having fun or enjoying it.
- 57:34Speaker 2: But just to heighten the difference between Simon and the
- 57:38Speaker 2: rest of the Simpsons. But no, they don't really do that.
- 57:41Speaker 4: It just felt like there was not enough thought put
- 57:44Speaker 4: into which is something I've said three times so far
- 57:46Speaker 4: this season.
- 57:48Speaker 2: And guess what we're three episodes.
- 57:49Speaker 4: Yes, Milhouse is now having dinner with Bart. He slips
- 57:52Speaker 4: up corning Bart in front of the butler button then leaves.
- 57:55Speaker 4: The first Miss Simon and the half brother and the
- 57:57Speaker 4: half sister arrive and they're beautiful, just the girl not
- 58:01Speaker 4: the guy as well, and then they hate him because
- 58:04Speaker 4: he's blocking their full inheritance, and Millhouse reveals he has
- 58:07Speaker 4: a crush on the new sister, and that's it for
- 58:09Speaker 4: mill House.
- 58:09Speaker 2: That's it.
- 58:10Speaker 4: Yeah, Homer is now fighting over the paper chew toy
- 58:13Speaker 4: with the dog with a bit of a commentary on
- 58:15Speaker 4: the war here tell them as it is, and then
- 58:18Speaker 4: some of them having a phone call.
- 58:21Speaker 1: This place is insane tonight. I got sent to bed
- 58:24Speaker 1: without dinner. Ah, yeah, well what's up with your brother
- 58:27Speaker 1: and sister? They're jealous because my father left their mother
- 58:31Speaker 1: to be with my mother. Janie, you lost me, Well,
- 58:34Speaker 1: gotta go enjoy the Upperlaura middle class.
- 58:40Speaker 2: Margin comes in and brings him a pizza, which I
- 58:41Speaker 2: thought was so at a character. This felt weird.
- 58:44Speaker 4: This used to be Homer being the one bringing the
- 58:46Speaker 4: stuff to the bear because it was like, don't tell
- 58:48Speaker 4: your mum, there's a little bonding moment between the kids.
- 58:51Speaker 4: Marg just brings a pepperoni pizza to bed and covers
- 58:53Speaker 4: it and picks it up. It was nice, but it
- 58:55Speaker 4: was the opposite.
- 58:57Speaker 2: Of It was so much of a immediate gearshift from
- 59:01Speaker 2: Bart's acting up.
- 59:02Speaker 4: He didn't need his dinner, so why are you bring
- 59:04Speaker 4: him a pizza in bed?
- 59:05Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 59:05Speaker 4: Because The best version of that is when Bart was
- 59:07Speaker 4: being naughty. He's like, when he's in the bed, she
- 59:10Speaker 4: goes you going to bed without dinner. I'm Stubb and
- 59:12Speaker 4: hopefully I'm a coming believe. So that's the dynamic. That's
- 59:17Speaker 4: what the dynamic used to be. Now home despises his children,
- 59:21Speaker 4: or in this episode anyway, despises his children and Marge
- 59:24Speaker 4: is the one. It's almost like, as we're getting to
- 59:27Speaker 4: that territory now where Harry Sheer pointed it out, I've
- 59:30Speaker 4: set it before they pick. They write jokes and assign
- 59:33Speaker 4: it to a character.
- 59:34Speaker 2: Yeah, the gags are not specifically designed two characters. They
- 59:36Speaker 2: are just gags. Gags. The idea of those quotation marks.
- 59:42Speaker 2: Dania just did the biggest set of air quotes you've
- 59:44Speaker 2: ever seen in and God didn't like the look at
- 59:47Speaker 2: them that bekind scary. Yes they were indeed.
- 59:50Speaker 4: So yeah, much has brought the pizza and someone's there like,
- 59:53Speaker 4: oh wait, you know what I can I can get
- 59:55Speaker 4: used to this.
- 59:55Speaker 2: This, this is this is nice.
- 59:56Speaker 4: So in his life he likes the rich lifestyle in
- 59:59Speaker 4: the sense that all the he gets everything he wants,
- 1:00:02Speaker 4: but here he's getting love.
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: It feels like there are just gaps all the way through.
- 1:00:07Speaker 4: It's like we need this, We need to see Simon
- 1:00:09Speaker 4: not getting any love from his parents, not mistreated, just just.
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: Their cold or even show like the long dinner table
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: and they're just not there, like there's this place where
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: is father? Yeah there are place settings, but you know
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: they're just not there. Yeah. The other thing is, I
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: don't know it. I think it might be a bit
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: of a trope. When you've got some poor person who
- 1:00:31Speaker 2: has ended up in a rich situation, it's usually the
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: butler or the help who recognizes, oh, you don't belong here,
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: but you've got good character and I'm going to look
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: out for you.
- 1:00:42Speaker 4: And in the nineties it was always the same guy
- 1:00:44Speaker 4: playing the butler. It's the new from Jamunji, the dad
- 1:00:47Speaker 4: from jam He is a great butler.
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I'm thinking of trading places, okay, where
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: Eddie Murphy takes over Dan Aykroyd's life and he's got Coleman.
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: The butler played that. Dan Elliott and Dala Mellick realized like, oh,
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: this guy's actually treating me like an equals. He's a
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: person of good character. I'm gonna look out for him. Yeah.
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: It would have been nice to just throw a little
- 1:01:08Speaker 2: bit of that into this. I don't know exactly how,
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: but as I said, yeah, it just feels like like
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: this is a this is a dumb metaphor. But run
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: with me. Picture of blanket. Picture a blanket, blanket pure
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: on your boar from Tate. Oh, this seems reaverly good.
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: You hold it up to the light and it's like, oh,
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: there's a bunch of tiny little holes in this. This
- 1:01:30Speaker 2: is not bad. This is a quality merge, except oh,
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: it's got hole here here, here, here, and here. It's like,
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: this could be easily fixed. They could have been easily
- 1:01:37Speaker 2: fixed up the factory. Yeah, and that's what this feels like.
- 1:01:39Speaker 4: I think they spent too long leading up to the swap.
- 1:01:44Speaker 4: Oh yeah, that could have happened right at the start,
- 1:01:46Speaker 4: because you didn't use any of the opening acts to
- 1:01:49Speaker 4: to justify why.
- 1:01:50Speaker 2: But would want to do this swap? Although to put
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: myself into the head of someone at the in the
- 1:01:54Speaker 2: Simpsons Rider's room of this stage, to put my head
- 1:01:55Speaker 2: into Bill Odenkirk's head, be like, yeah, but we need
- 1:02:00Speaker 2: to establish that things are tense between that Bart's acting
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: up acting. I'm even more so than usual. So yeah,
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: we're gonna have to devote a little time to that.
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: But it's seed planning. It's going to pay off later.
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: It's like, but it doesn't really for me. It doesn't
- 1:02:13Speaker 2: planted too many seeds and there's not a big enough crop.
- 1:02:16Speaker 4: It doesn't make sense though, in the sense that Marge
- 1:02:18Speaker 4: and Homer had had enough with Bart's naughty behavior and
- 1:02:21Speaker 4: now it's just suddenly not being naughty, and none of
- 1:02:23Speaker 4: them seem aware of what's going on.
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: But even then he's not. It's not enough of the
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: gearshift of like Bart was bad and now he's good.
- 1:02:30Speaker 2: It's like Bart was bad and now he's a snob
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: and he's not even like, Oh, mother and father, I'm
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: so glad that we're all having dinner together, how wonderful.
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: It's more like, oh, you're a vile, vulgarian. You're spitting
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: food in my face. Is like, you sp monkey. Yeah,
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: it's like even Homer not recognizing that. It feels kind
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: of dumb and weir. No one recognized except I mean
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: I understand why. Yeah, ah, so it's it's no the
- 1:02:57Speaker 2: nitpicks are all valid. Yeah, we're picking sermon, and it's
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: here like a kid with a.
- 1:03:02Speaker 4: Oh we got the first message the other day. It
- 1:03:03Speaker 4: was like, it's the headlights is spread at school and
- 1:03:06Speaker 4: I'm like, oh, it's the no, now my heads is
- 1:03:08Speaker 4: You're thinking about it like it's three weeks to go
- 1:03:10Speaker 4: under school. You we nearly go through it, and it's like,
- 1:03:14Speaker 4: what are knits?
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: Let me tell you. Have you have you see a
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: close up of them?
- 1:03:19Speaker 4: You're like, these things look terrifying when when you zoom
- 1:03:21Speaker 4: in on them, like there's little creatures in your head.
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: Oh, all insects are terrifying. You're zooming closure. Have you
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: ever seen the picture like the six hundred times magnification
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: of like an ant's face. It looks like the motherfucker
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: wants to kill me. Oh, let's sleeve it fine, I'll
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: google it. So six hundred times. I'm pretty sure its
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: six hundred times, just like just microscope microscopic close up.
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: I know, right, that looks like crampus. Yeah, that's an
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: ant's face. Look and it's like I want to kill you.
- 1:03:51Speaker 2: No way. Are they its eyes or just antlers? I
- 1:03:54Speaker 2: don't know. Let's put in the show notes. Yeah, that's scary.
- 1:03:58Speaker 4: That is a perfect you need to make an ant
- 1:04:01Speaker 4: horror movie and that is the face of the cover.
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: There have been giant ant movies, I mean the whole Yeah.
- 1:04:09Speaker 4: Don't remind me of the poor giant ant from How Honey,
- 1:04:11Speaker 4: I Shunt the Kids still hurts me to this day.
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: I don't really remember. We will talk about.
- 1:04:15Speaker 4: The faster moment Honey Shun the kids is when the
- 1:04:19Speaker 4: kids gets shrunk. Obviously, they're in the backyard or whatever
- 1:04:21Speaker 4: it is, the front yard, and they become friends with
- 1:04:23Speaker 4: this ant, and this ant risk its life when a
- 1:04:27Speaker 4: scorpion comes around and fends off the scorpy, and the
- 1:04:29Speaker 4: scorpion kills the ant and it dies in their arms,
- 1:04:32Speaker 4: and it's like.
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: My goodness, oh shit, holy moly, why am I crying
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: over an ant?
- 1:04:37Speaker 4: So we had children of the nineties, the three fuck
- 1:04:40Speaker 4: you moments when kids movies were willing to make you cry.
- 1:04:44Speaker 4: It was the ant dying, Honey, I Shunt the kids,
- 1:04:47Speaker 4: Littlefoot's mum dying in the land before Time, and then
- 1:04:51Speaker 4: Fussa being killed by scar. Did you have any members
- 1:04:54Speaker 4: of that when you were a kid? Oh gosh, deaths
- 1:04:57Speaker 4: or moments and movies that stuck with you and you're
- 1:04:59Speaker 4: like you just never forgotten to the point where you'd
- 1:05:01Speaker 4: rewatch the movie and you'd almost want to fast forward
- 1:05:03Speaker 4: that part.
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: Yeah, there were certainly some traumatic things like that. I
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: think the main one for eighties kids. And look, I'm
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: saying this is necessarily one of my favorite movies. But yeah,
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: what is it. What's the name of the horse in
- 1:05:15Speaker 2: the Never Ending Story? Oh? Yeah, don't make it through
- 1:05:17Speaker 2: the swamp.
- 1:05:18Speaker 4: No, but at least it survives at the end. Well yeah,
- 1:05:20Speaker 4: but still when it goes and you're like, they're killing.
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: The horse, cool bloom? Oh man, kids, movies used to
- 1:05:28Speaker 2: be cold blooded. Yeah, they're just like, don't worry, kids,
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: everything's fun because we've got to make a chequel watching
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: above men because you know, because we live many Yeah,
- 1:05:45Speaker 2: your money.
- 1:05:46Speaker 4: Is that one create adorable characters, that three profit. What's
- 1:05:50Speaker 4: step two?
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: Don't kill, don't kill? We sold the whole underpants anyway.
- 1:05:57Speaker 4: So yes, So going back, So Bart's now at the
- 1:05:58Speaker 4: fancy party, which is looks like a rap video before
- 1:06:01Speaker 4: the rappers show up the siblings and lock him in.
- 1:06:03Speaker 4: What are these things called. It's not a grave but mausoleum, mausoleum. Okay,
- 1:06:07Speaker 4: because they said the bodies turned to licorice. After a while,
- 1:06:11Speaker 4: I did like that. I was something to think that
- 1:06:12Speaker 4: they're not going to not blaying his liquorice story. So
- 1:06:14Speaker 4: Smith's ends up letting him out and then Burns becomes
- 1:06:19Speaker 4: friends with me basically because he has a bigger fortune
- 1:06:22Speaker 4: or he has a bigger fortune. He thinks that hears
- 1:06:23Speaker 4: Simon and he says he was once the youngest. Now
- 1:06:26Speaker 4: they don't outwardly say this, and they don't even.
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: Really imply it. But killed all his siblings.
- 1:06:33Speaker 4: Yeah, but they don't make a punchine or any sort
- 1:06:35Speaker 4: of reference. They thought this, they're going there, and then
- 1:06:38Speaker 4: they don't do it. Yeah, but I thought it as well,
- 1:06:41Speaker 4: So I mean you thought it as well. Oh yeah, Well,
- 1:06:44Speaker 4: it just seems like that's where they were going, and they.
- 1:06:46Speaker 2: Maybe it's a master stroke on the part of the
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: part of the creatives that it's like, oh, did he.
- 1:06:52Speaker 4: Kill them because he's going watching out for them. They
- 1:06:55Speaker 4: didn't say I should know because I did it, But
- 1:06:57Speaker 4: he doesn't actually say that he did it.
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: I wonder if they did make it more obvious, if
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: you know, he sort of slipped up and said, yes,
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: I wonder how I killed or I mean I wonder
- 1:07:07Speaker 2: who killed all those people? If you, if Snyder, fuckers
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: like you, and I would go thanks for telegraphing your punches. Yeah, Daniel,
- 1:07:15Speaker 2: I could fix this in five minutes. But then burns.
- 1:07:21Speaker 4: They're making pathetic again with the sea saucing. I wish
- 1:07:23Speaker 4: I would have stopped with these silly gags that stop
- 1:07:25Speaker 4: making pathetic, making them frightening.
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: Again, make them scary. It make him a scary end face. Yes, exactly.
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: So.
- 1:07:32Speaker 4: Grandpa then is telling stories to Simon about shooting Buffalo's
- 1:07:36Speaker 4: and someone's actually listening. He's like, oh shit, now an
- 1:07:38Speaker 4: ending for this story. List is confused. What didn't listen
- 1:07:40Speaker 4: to his stories? And I was, Oh, it's the war
- 1:07:42Speaker 4: to end all wars. PEPSI continued challenging Coke. I thought
- 1:07:46Speaker 4: Pepsi cokes to outseales PEPs But Pepsi's.
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: Up there now when it comes to oh, it's very
- 1:07:51Speaker 2: much a duopoly now it feels like it doesn't it. Yeah,
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: I don't. PEPs is not going anywhere. It's not like R. C. Colon,
- 1:07:58Speaker 2: Jolt Color.
- 1:07:59Speaker 4: Lai Coler, Yeah, whatever, Yeah, I tried that about six
- 1:08:03Speaker 4: months ago. I thought, you know what, fuck you? Cole
- 1:08:05Speaker 4: was just gonna get the cheat one. I was like,
- 1:08:07Speaker 4: oh no, if the kids wouldn'tdrink it, the kids like
- 1:08:13Speaker 4: this doesn't taste like PEPSI. Lisa then wants Bart back.
- 1:08:20Speaker 4: She what's the old butt back?
- 1:08:22Speaker 2: Right?
- 1:08:22Speaker 4: So she slaps him. He doesn't do anything about it.
- 1:08:24Speaker 4: The old butt would have thrown me out the window. Okay,
- 1:08:26Speaker 4: So now she knows something has to be done well.
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: And also the fact that yeah, Simon is using terms
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: like defenestrate.
- 1:08:31Speaker 4: Exactly, but is packing these bags And did you know
- 1:08:34Speaker 4: if you packed the fish take it. I had a
- 1:08:36Speaker 4: little mini blinking in there.
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: I didn't know fish. Yeah. I think I was just
- 1:08:39Speaker 2: too disturbed by the whole putting. You know, there are
- 1:08:43Speaker 2: certain things that's irrational, just like, oh god, that's really
- 1:08:46Speaker 2: given me the weirds. Yeah, putting a fish tank in
- 1:08:49Speaker 2: the in the suitcase and trying to close it. I
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: was like, ah, I don't like that. It's poor fish. Poor.
- 1:08:56Speaker 2: I don't know, just yeah, there are certain things that
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: just give you the nails down a chalkboard feeling, and
- 1:09:01Speaker 2: oh yeah, for some reason, that was it.
- 1:09:03Speaker 4: Everyone has there there's something there's something, Yeah, whine is
- 1:09:07Speaker 4: toenails or pens being clipped the sound the clip they clicking,
- 1:09:12Speaker 4: cutting too close to the and getting the little on
- 1:09:14Speaker 4: other things at the head dubs hailes not fun at all.
- 1:09:19Speaker 4: But they come to him and say, oh, you must
- 1:09:21Speaker 4: be packing for a trip to.
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: We have a skate trip.
- 1:09:25Speaker 4: Now you remembers, Oh, mister Burns said that they'd be
- 1:09:27Speaker 4: be a skate trip, but they'd get me.
- 1:09:29Speaker 5: Scrubbing you is easy because you've been pre rented.
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: And when you're covered with goul, that's when I'm scrubbing you.
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: Scrub up up, scrub up a pump man ark. Okay,
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: something to tell you. I don't like the look of
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: those air quotes. So now Barge is on his way
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: to Aspen. They're going to try to kill him.
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: Thank you future Bart for traveling back through time to warn.
- 1:10:01Speaker 4: Thank your future Bart for traveling back in time to
- 1:10:02Speaker 4: warn us. Other than that, that's fine, that that's the
- 1:10:05Speaker 4: appreciate silly Homer. You know it's not mean, it's not
- 1:10:08Speaker 4: mean spirited, and from the rest of the episode home
- 1:10:09Speaker 4: is actually good. They jumps off the so they arrive
- 1:10:12Speaker 4: in Aspen. The Champagno's blah blah blah. You also think
- 1:10:16Speaker 4: you're not just call the police in Aspen. So the
- 1:10:22Speaker 4: siblings are now they pushed Bart down the hill and
- 1:10:25Speaker 4: then she offers the other brother a potato.
- 1:10:27Speaker 2: Yes, which is a call back to early We didn't
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: really sort of allude to it, but yeah, most of
- 1:10:31Speaker 2: the Burns's siblings died from poisoned potatoes exactly.
- 1:10:36Speaker 4: Homer then jumps off the ski lift to say, Bart,
- 1:10:39Speaker 4: come on, gravity used to be cool. What are we
- 1:10:41Speaker 4: doing here? And they turn into a snowball. They go
- 1:10:43Speaker 4: down the hill and been the hot in the hot tub,
- 1:10:45Speaker 4: and then they get kick out because they're not members
- 1:10:47Speaker 4: of the clubs. They go back to a snowball again,
- 1:10:49Speaker 4: and the episode just ends very abruptly. So Simon just
- 1:10:52Speaker 4: gets back into his car. He realizes, you know what,
- 1:10:55Speaker 4: I'm going to enjoy having a Sunday. What in the
- 1:10:57Speaker 4: back of my car he with the butler did he.
- 1:10:59Speaker 2: Sort of give somebody came like, oh oh miss the
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: simple pleasures of life with the Simpson And then he's like,
- 1:11:03Speaker 2: but he's got the fanciest sunday. Yeah, the gold lif
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: I can understand. The Diamond Sharts is just gonna do
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: rig heavy on your inside.
- 1:11:10Speaker 4: I think it would have been better if he had
- 1:11:12Speaker 4: to go, I ner, if I can give up this,
- 1:11:15Speaker 4: mom Mum will call him Marge mum or whatever, and
- 1:11:17Speaker 4: then have the window come down saying sir your sunday.
- 1:11:20Speaker 2: Oh wait, yes, and yeah exactly.
- 1:11:23Speaker 4: That would have been a better way to do that
- 1:11:24Speaker 4: in my opinion, But Homer wants to go after them.
- 1:11:26Speaker 4: Don't leave you with them again, bad father once again.
- 1:11:30Speaker 4: And I never thought i'd say this, but I missed
- 1:11:31Speaker 4: you guys, which was.
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: Like, I'm pretty sure last what you missed them.
- 1:11:35Speaker 4: But anyway, Marge and tucks bart in and he says
- 1:11:37Speaker 4: this is the life, which was a sweet ending. It's
- 1:11:39Speaker 4: just this needed to be more of the story. Yes,
- 1:11:42Speaker 4: the tuckings needed to be more emphasized by getting no
- 1:11:46Speaker 4: tuck in by the we even see the parents do
- 1:11:50Speaker 4: that's the thing.
- 1:11:51Speaker 2: Yeah, so you needed to ramp up the role of
- 1:11:54Speaker 2: the butler a bit more, all this kind of business.
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: But now they were like five or six good bits
- 1:12:00Speaker 2: in this, and they're sort of enough to string the
- 1:12:03Speaker 2: rest of the episode around and build a bit of
- 1:12:05Speaker 2: a great something solid, but they just don't make the
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: most of it.
- 1:12:09Speaker 4: But needed to see that, you know, home is a
- 1:12:13Speaker 4: deck and he choked and whatnot, but getting absolutely nothing
- 1:12:16Speaker 4: from the parents from his dad, and he's go, oh
- 1:12:19Speaker 4: great either, like maybe, like you know, it could be
- 1:12:23Speaker 4: he could act upright at that rich place and the
- 1:12:27Speaker 4: parents don't give a shit.
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: Right, I need boundaries.
- 1:12:31Speaker 4: He's like, ah, well, I'm not even getting reactions.
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: Isn't fun? Yeah? Yeah?
- 1:12:34Speaker 4: And then he goalies, Oh wait, I am the problem
- 1:12:36Speaker 4: because I'm doing it for a reaction anyway.
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: Good lord, we've made this episode like eight times better.
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: What do we learn bomb? All right? What did you

- 1:13:35Speaker 4: Is the Guy Davis New Name Championship. He currently stands
- 1:13:39Speaker 4: at this In first position, we have yeah me, yeah it.
- 1:13:45Speaker 2: He's on six points.
- 1:13:47Speaker 4: In second position we have Steve Roberts and Chris Clark
- 1:13:50Speaker 4: both on two points, and in third position Zach Wood
- 1:13:52Speaker 4: and Carl Muldoon on one point.
- 1:13:55Speaker 2: I just can't get enough Dando's bluesy voice. Alright, what
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: are the names for this week? We have a lot
- 1:14:02Speaker 2: of good new names. This was tough. I wrote down
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: at least seven that could have got points, but not sorry,
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: you're not all going to get points or no one
- 1:14:12Speaker 2: mentions not even that. That just makes people feel bad.
- 1:14:15Speaker 2: Who gets the one point? One point goes too because
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: there's in house fighting, like what men? You kidding me?
- 1:14:22Speaker 2: What a non lord? One point goes to don't pull gangers?
- 1:14:30Speaker 4: Oh, the old classic dough. That will be Adam Woolhouse
- 1:14:34Speaker 4: with his first point of the season.
- 1:14:35Speaker 2: World On, Adam, Welcome to the Woolhouse. He's got plenty
- 1:14:39Speaker 2: of new names. How about that? Just came up with it? Really, wow,
- 1:14:46Speaker 2: it's not like it shows. Two points goes to son
- 1:14:50Speaker 2: of a Switch.
- 1:14:51Speaker 4: That is Shannon Dowdell Shannon Dodaal Dowdy. Yes, that was
- 1:14:55Speaker 4: the first points for Shannon on the board this year,
- 1:14:58Speaker 4: so that means Shannon is also now on two points.
- 1:15:01Speaker 2: Yeah, well done, Shannon. Three points goes to lock Stock
- 1:15:06Speaker 2: and two Yellow Rascals. His name is Brian, Oh.
- 1:15:14Speaker 4: You pull Jared Homby no points this week, Brian Hughes.
- 1:15:17Speaker 4: Brian Hughes are the three points. Hugh's Yeah from downtown.
- 1:15:21Speaker 4: So Brian, Brian, Who's well done? So it was the
- 1:15:23Speaker 4: name again once again?
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: Was it?
- 1:15:25Speaker 2: His name is Brian?
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: No?
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: No that his new name is lux Duck and yes,
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: Lustock and too Little Rascals, too Yellow, luck Stocking, too
- 1:15:34Speaker 2: yellow Rascles. Good name, it's pretty good. The three points. Yes,
- 1:15:37Speaker 2: so were others that could have got points? Yeah, we're
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: not going to mention them, not notably. But when I
- 1:15:44Speaker 2: say that, just I'm talking about you guys. Yes, I'm
- 1:15:47Speaker 2: talking about you specifically.
- 1:15:48Speaker 4: So Jared Hornby still in first position now in six points,
- 1:15:51Speaker 4: but Brian Hughes on three points in second position. Outright,
- 1:15:55Speaker 4: we have Steve Roberts, Chris Clark, and Shannon Dowd or
- 1:15:58Speaker 4: on two points in third and in four Zach Wood,
- 1:16:00Speaker 4: Carl Muldoon, Carl and Adam Woolhouse all on one point.
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: With three episodes in to season twenty and it's anybody's race.
- 1:16:09Speaker 2: How many episodes this season? Is it back to twenty two?
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: Now that's a good question.
- 1:16:12Speaker 4: Let's have a look, Simpsons, ask the Internet. Season twenty
- 1:16:17Speaker 4: has twenty one episodes. The finale is called coming to
- 1:16:21Speaker 4: Home America. Oh, there you go, speaking of Eddie Murphy.
- 1:16:24Speaker 4: He's coming to America, isn't he that?
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: That is? Yes?
- 1:16:26Speaker 4: Is that the one we pretends he's blind? Is that
- 1:16:29Speaker 4: coming to America?
- 1:16:30Speaker 2: No places? And here where his guy? That's funny. Okay,
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: what I can see it's a miracle.
- 1:16:39Speaker 4: Eddie Murphy needs prime. I would say, what a lord.
- 1:16:42Speaker 2: Some might say that what a lord? And now take
- 1:16:45Speaker 2: it away. I don't know if this person's especially well.
- 1:16:47Speaker 2: They're not in the news just at the moment. They
- 1:16:49Speaker 2: will be soon because a movie of this is going
- 1:16:52Speaker 2: to be talked about on the movie Guide with Molten
- 1:16:55Speaker 2: and Davis. Um, let me try and remember exactly the
- 1:16:58Speaker 2: schedule that Danno put. If you're a patient of four
- 1:17:00Speaker 2: figure discount, don't remember Dan, I can just do it.
- 1:17:03Speaker 4: It's going to be available next week on the Movie
- 1:17:05Speaker 4: Guy Patreon channel. You want to get access to Hearing
- 1:17:07Speaker 4: Guy and then to talk about Galaxy Quest starring Tim Allen.
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: So I would call what a lord? Now some people
- 1:17:16Speaker 2: mean be saying Tim Allen, why exactly? And but then
- 1:17:20Speaker 2: like this dude's got staying power. I mean Home Improvement
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: went for goodness knows how long have you?
- 1:17:25Speaker 4: Eight seasons? For eight seasons and it could have kept going.
- 1:17:28Speaker 4: But he's like, I'm out. I've got a buzz Light
- 1:17:30Speaker 4: of your money.
- 1:17:30Speaker 2: Because you know why, because he's voicing one of the
- 1:17:34Speaker 2: main characters and one of the most popular animated franchises
- 1:17:36Speaker 2: of the late twentieth and early twenty first century. Yeah,
- 1:17:39Speaker 2: talking about Toy Story. He's the voice of buzz Light. Yeh. Yeah. Indeed,
- 1:17:42Speaker 2: not only that, he's started to do others. Well, you know,
- 1:17:45Speaker 2: in the wake of Home Improvement did other sitcoms. Not
- 1:17:48Speaker 2: many people here would maybe no Last Man Standing, but
- 1:17:50Speaker 2: that's gone for something like seven years or went for something.
- 1:17:52Speaker 2: Oh no, I went for longer than that, went for longer.
- 1:17:54Speaker 2: He got Likeck Revived, didn't it? I think?
- 1:17:57Speaker 4: So I was looking at these other films that weren't
- 1:17:59Speaker 4: as popular. Had the Shaggy Dog Jungle to Jungle Joe,
- 1:18:02Speaker 4: Somebody Joe Somebody's Terrible? Christopher Crank's though very popular. Yes, indeed,
- 1:18:08Speaker 4: So I'm just gonna go to what was the show
- 1:18:10Speaker 4: Last Man Standing? Yeah, but where's the new one he's got?
- 1:18:12Speaker 4: I wanted Shifting Gears?
- 1:18:13Speaker 2: Shifting Gears, that's right, you know, in a shock to
- 1:18:18Speaker 2: people who have watched a timil and said, come, he's
- 1:18:20Speaker 2: a man who's sort of out of sync with the times,
- 1:18:23Speaker 2: and he's got younger people in his love were saying,
- 1:18:25Speaker 2: why did you get with the times? Old man? He's like,
- 1:18:29Speaker 2: but I make more money and Step three profit. But
- 1:18:36Speaker 2: I haven't we mentioned Galaxy Quest. I mean, he's the
- 1:18:38Speaker 2: lead of a movie that is pretty much universally beloved.
- 1:18:41Speaker 2: Have you ever met anyone said you know what sucks
- 1:18:44Speaker 2: this Galaxy Quest? You know, you probably haven't met them,
- 1:18:46Speaker 2: or you've done at social they've not seen it. If
- 1:18:49Speaker 2: you've got like, you haven't seen it. Basically, I watched it.
- 1:18:51Speaker 2: I couldn't I need to for the first lot two
- 1:18:53Speaker 2: years ago, right, as well as one of these films
- 1:18:55Speaker 2: where I'm like, ah, I'll get to I get to it,
- 1:18:56Speaker 2: and I watched it. I was like, this pit was
- 1:18:57Speaker 2: made for me? Why did I not get to this?
- 1:18:59Speaker 2: This was literally made for me? This movie that you know,
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: he's got the odd role where he's sort of taken
- 1:19:04Speaker 2: a middle more of a dramatic turn. I mentioned the
- 1:19:06Speaker 2: Dan earlier, the movie called Red Belt, written directed by
- 1:19:09Speaker 2: David Namontt, and he's sort of playing this uh semi
- 1:19:14Speaker 2: washed up action movie star who gets into a fight
- 1:19:16Speaker 2: at a bar one night because people are always like
- 1:19:18Speaker 2: trying to step to him. He's really good, and he
- 1:19:21Speaker 2: may not be playing a character too far removed from misself,
- 1:19:23Speaker 2: but it's like, dude, you're more versatile than people are
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: giving you credit for. You know, you've got big hits,
- 1:19:29Speaker 2: You've got critically acclaimed movies. Why are people giving you
- 1:19:33Speaker 2: more respect? So, yeah, there's a whole thing about snitch
- 1:19:36Speaker 2: on your mates because he didn't want to do your
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: full time in prison.
- 1:19:39Speaker 4: But yeah, you look at his his mog shot, it
- 1:19:43Speaker 4: is like he looks like the snitch.
- 1:19:47Speaker 2: Yeah. At the same time, he also looks like a
- 1:19:50Speaker 2: roadie for the Doobie Brothers or something he does. Yeah, yeah, definite.
- 1:19:54Speaker 2: But you know what, I occasionally we go against the grain.
- 1:19:56Speaker 2: I will go against popular opinion, going yes, so I'm
- 1:19:59Speaker 2: gonna Tim Allen the Lord.
- 1:20:01Speaker 4: And I've always enjoyed Home Improvement. As I was saying
- 1:20:03Speaker 4: to you, off the air, is one of those shows
- 1:20:04Speaker 4: where you may not like it, but you cannot deny
- 1:20:06Speaker 4: the fact that it is basic, simple sitcom premise that
- 1:20:09Speaker 4: just works.
- 1:20:10Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah. It is the mac and Cheese of sitcoms. Yeah,
- 1:20:13Speaker 2: it's enjoyable stuff. Yeah.
- 1:20:14Speaker 4: So it says he's shifting gears. Premiere is in January.
- 1:20:16Speaker 4: I'm looking forward to it. I'm looking forward to see
- 1:20:18Speaker 4: because I missed sitcoms. Now this is going to be
- 1:20:20Speaker 4: a classic sitcom in front of an audience. I am
- 1:20:22Speaker 4: all about it because hopefully tim Alie can revive sitcoms again.
- 1:20:26Speaker 2: I'm not putting it past him to me though, Yeah,
- 1:20:29Speaker 2: so Tim Allen is what a Lord? What a Lord? Indeed?
- 1:20:32Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:20:32Speaker 4: That is our review of Double Double Boy in Trouble.
- 1:20:34Speaker 4: I hope you guys enjoyed it. Next of us said,
- 1:20:36Speaker 4: I've forfigured discount season twenty. Ooh, it's tree House of
- 1:20:39Speaker 4: Horror nineteen.
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: That's right. When I saw that come up on the
- 1:20:43Speaker 2: Disney Plus service, which I know how I watched this
- 1:20:45Speaker 2: episode of The Simpsons, I was like, hey, we usually
- 1:20:48Speaker 2: do this a little earlier, but I'm sure there's a
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: reason that a Treehouse of Horror is a little later
- 1:20:52Speaker 2: in the game.
- 1:20:53Speaker 4: It's always about episode four or five now because because
- 1:20:56Speaker 4: what happened was it used to premiere around the end
- 1:20:59Speaker 4: of a hall in time, so they started with it.
- 1:21:01Speaker 4: But now since like a few years ago, they have
- 1:21:05Speaker 4: been in September, so they want to train.
- 1:21:07Speaker 2: And make an insta about Helen. Okay, Yessten, so that
- 1:21:11Speaker 2: explains why. Thank you for the explanation.
- 1:21:14Speaker 4: Yes, all right, So yeah, there'll be Treasafara nineteen will
- 1:21:17Speaker 4: be the next episode of four Finger Discount don't forget
- 1:21:20Speaker 4: to Please continue to rate and review us on Apple
