- 0:09Speaker 1: Vice for sure. It's nice. Hello no no, no, no, no, Hello.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Welcome to the Naughty but Nice. I'm your host, rop Shooter.
- 0:16Speaker 1: It is Thursday. Mark was ready to do the show
- 0:18Speaker 1: this morning, but we had a few technical issues. So
- 0:21Speaker 1: don't worry, naughties. It's just as but we've got a
- 0:23Speaker 1: great show. What time is it, my friends? It is
- 0:25Speaker 1: tea time. Big story at the top of the show,
- 0:28Speaker 1: Michelle Obama is shutting down divorce rumors, saying, quote, I'm
- 0:32Speaker 1: a grown woman making choices for myself. So amid growing
- 0:37Speaker 1: speculation about her marriage to the former President Barack Obama,
- 0:43Speaker 1: the former first Lady is addressing the unfounded divorce rumors.
- 0:47Speaker 1: So these rumors have been going around now for a
- 0:50Speaker 1: couple of months. I told you back then that my
- 0:52Speaker 1: sources were saying, no, they are not getting a divorced.
- 0:55Speaker 1: They just have different interests. She said the following I
- 0:58Speaker 1: think it's so interesting they couldn't even fathom that I
- 1:02Speaker 1: was making a choice for myself and that they had
- 1:06Speaker 1: to assume that my husband and I were getting the divorce.
- 1:08Speaker 1: So what she's talking about here is all the headlines,
- 1:11Speaker 1: all the big events that she did not want to
- 1:13Speaker 1: go to she doesn't like politics. She's made it very
- 1:16Speaker 1: clear what she thinks about the current president. She wants
- 1:19Speaker 1: no part of this. I think there's an expectation in
- 1:22Speaker 1: American politics that you hand the bat on, although that
- 1:25Speaker 1: wasn't done to mister Biden by the former administration. So
- 1:30Speaker 1: she's saying no, I just don't want to do it anymore.
- 1:32Speaker 1: And for eight years we were so used to seeing
- 1:35Speaker 1: them together when he was the president. She turned up
- 1:38Speaker 1: at so many different events, stuff that she didn't really
- 1:41Speaker 1: want to do. She's very, very, very much not interested
- 1:46Speaker 1: in the political world. She thinks it's really really nasty.
- 1:49Speaker 1: It is, And so she said, now that my husband
- 1:52Speaker 1: is no longer in office, I'm not doing this. And
- 1:54Speaker 1: when you see Barak by himself making solo appearances, that
- 1:59Speaker 1: is not a red flag, but it's rather a conscious
- 2:02Speaker 1: decision on her behalf for her own wellbeing. She said, quote,
- 2:07Speaker 1: I'm a grown woman just making a set of decisions
- 2:11Speaker 1: for myself, and if it does not fit the stereotype,
- 2:15Speaker 1: it's going to get labeled as something negative. So the
- 2:18Speaker 1: message is really clear here. Michelle Obama does not owe
- 2:22Speaker 1: anybody in explanation for living the life she wants on
- 2:25Speaker 1: her own terms, and she is doing that. This is
- 2:28Speaker 1: such a big topic. What do you think about your
- 2:32Speaker 1: partner being involved in your work life, in your everyday life.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Bruce and I have an amazing relationship because we are
- 2:40Speaker 1: not constantly together. We have our own lives, we have
- 2:44Speaker 1: our own jobs, we make our own money. I don't
- 2:47Speaker 1: want to work for Bruce's company. It would have been
- 2:50Speaker 1: really easy for me to become an employee of Bruce's
- 2:54Speaker 1: big company. I could call myself a manager, Bruce's manager,
- 2:58Speaker 1: and do really very very little except collector paycheck. So
- 3:01Speaker 1: I have no interest in doing that at all. So
- 3:04Speaker 1: I forged my own career and then on a personal
- 3:06Speaker 1: level too. We have different interests. Bruce is not really
- 3:09Speaker 1: interested in going shoe shopping, noticing not into clothes. I
- 3:13Speaker 1: love doing that, so I have my friends that I
- 3:16Speaker 1: do that with. We love the theater together, we love
- 3:18Speaker 1: going to restaurants together. Movies. He likes sort of smart movies,
- 3:22Speaker 1: where I love a Mission impossible. I love a dumb blockbuster.
- 3:25Speaker 1: I love us I'm a blockbuster. Not for Bruce, So
- 3:28Speaker 1: I don't make him go, and I think that's the
- 3:31Speaker 1: key to success here. Don't force your friends your partners,
- 3:35Speaker 1: your family into doing stuff they just don't want to do.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Accept their interests and hopefully they accept yours too. And
- 3:42Speaker 1: Michelle not interested in politics, not interested in turning up
- 3:46Speaker 1: at inaugurations, not going to do it. She did it before,
- 3:49Speaker 1: not gonna do it now. She is a grown ass
- 3:53Speaker 1: person and she's gonna make her own decisions. But this
- 3:56Speaker 1: does not mean that they are getting a divorce. It's
- 4:01Speaker 1: so clear to me. When we look at people's relationships
- 4:05Speaker 1: from the outside, we often don't understand what's really going
- 4:10Speaker 1: on within them. We sort of put our own feelings
- 4:13Speaker 1: onto them. And oh my goodness, if my husband my
- 4:15Speaker 1: wife did not show up to that, I'd be really
- 4:19Speaker 1: upset with him. And that's a red flag, and it's
- 4:21Speaker 1: a sign of divorce. No, it's not, it's just design.
- 4:24Speaker 1: They didn't want to go. They didn't want to go.
- 4:27Speaker 1: These two, I'm told, are a solid couple with different interests,
- 4:30Speaker 1: and now that his political career, at least an elective government,
- 4:35Speaker 1: is over, they're figuring out the next chapters of their
- 4:38Speaker 1: lives together and separately, she's doing a podcast with her
- 4:41Speaker 1: brother and told she's working on a new book. But
- 4:43Speaker 1: also together they've got some development deals here. I think
- 4:46Speaker 1: he won an Oscar for something, or they want an Oscar,
- 4:49Speaker 1: and so lots and lots of stuff they plan to
- 4:51Speaker 1: do together, but also too, I think, really rather refreshingly
- 4:55Speaker 1: lots of stuff. They are doing a punt, which brings
- 4:59Speaker 1: us to our question of the day. Michelle Obama is
- 5:02Speaker 1: shutting down divorce rumors. Do you think this couple will last?
- 5:06Speaker 1: What do you think? Do you believe her? Do you
- 5:07Speaker 1: think they will last? Go vote on a Twitter page
- 5:10Speaker 1: at Naughty nine Rob or a Facebook page which is
- 5:12Speaker 1: Naughty Gossip and Misure to check back tomorrow to hear
- 5:16Speaker 1: your results. Okay, this story is explosive, it is everywhere.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Just In Baldoni does not want Harvey Weinstein's support in
- 5:24Speaker 1: his two hundred and fifty million dollar lawsuit against The
- 5:26Speaker 1: New York Times and Blake Lively. So Harvey ana nowhere
- 5:30Speaker 1: has tried to hitch his legacy to Justin Belldone, and
- 5:33Speaker 1: Justin wants nothing to do with it. So from his
- 5:37Speaker 1: California prison cell, let me say that again. Halves in jail,
- 5:41Speaker 1: where he's serving a sixteen year sentence for rape and assault,
- 5:46Speaker 1: Harvey released a jaw dropping statement claiming that he quote
- 5:51Speaker 1: emphasizes with Justin Belldoni in his legal battle against The
- 5:57Speaker 1: New York Times and former co star Blake Lively, the
- 6:01Speaker 1: convicted predator whose twenty twenty New York rape conviction was
- 6:05Speaker 1: overturned in twenty twenty four and now away it's a retrial,
- 6:09Speaker 1: claims that The New York Times manipulated evidence in both
- 6:12Speaker 1: cases his and Justin's to serve a sensationalized narrative. But
- 6:19Speaker 1: insiders close to Justin are slamming this unsolicited support. Sources
- 6:24Speaker 1: tell me quote Justin is appalled by Harvey Weinstein's comments.
- 6:29Speaker 1: He doesn't want this support, as this ever happened to you,
- 6:32Speaker 1: and somebody comes forward supports you, and you're like, oh no, no, no,
- 6:37Speaker 1: I don't want to be associated with you. It's like
- 6:39Speaker 1: Diddial Cosby and Weinstein. These are people. It's just not helping,
- 6:44Speaker 1: and it shows you harvest narcissism that he thinks from jail.
- 6:48Speaker 1: From jail, he should issue a statement about Blake Lively
- 6:53Speaker 1: and Justin bell Downey saying whose side is on, whose
- 6:56Speaker 1: side is on doesn't matter, the fact is saying it
- 6:59Speaker 1: that's what matters. Who cares what you think Harvey, You're disgraced.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Sit down, sir, Shut up, sir. You're not helping Justin.
- 7:08Speaker 1: You're not helping yourself. This happens with politicians too, doesn't it,
- 7:13Speaker 1: When really horrible people come forward to endorse you and
- 7:15Speaker 1: you're like, oh, no, no, no, I don't want that endorsement.
- 7:18Speaker 1: No no, no, no, no, no, no no no. This
- 7:20Speaker 1: can also happen with friends, with colleagues, with people in
- 7:23Speaker 1: the same business as you be careful who you associate with. Now,
- 7:28Speaker 1: let's be clear, Justin has nothing to do with Harvey Weinstein,
- 7:31Speaker 1: But Harvey Weinstein always seems to want something to do
- 7:35Speaker 1: with whoever is in the headlines. Okay, moving along. Another
- 7:39Speaker 1: celebrity who is making headlines is Megan Markle for warning
- 7:43Speaker 1: that the US is heading to recession and mid all
- 7:47Speaker 1: the new tariffs, which I think have been put on
- 7:49Speaker 1: hold last night, and she says that her honey is
- 7:52Speaker 1: going to still bring joy into the world. So Meg
- 7:55Speaker 1: and Markle, of all people, is sounding the alarm on
- 7:58Speaker 1: America's economic future, saying that during any time of recession,
- 8:04Speaker 1: people want to find creature, comforts, items that bring them joy.
- 8:07Speaker 1: And she's holding up a glass jar of her honey
- 8:11Speaker 1: as this it is twenty eight dollars, and she said
- 8:14Speaker 1: this was built for uncertain times. She went on to
- 8:18Speaker 1: add that that was part of the vision from the start. Quote,
- 8:22Speaker 1: we wanted products that looked prestigious but were reasonably priced,
- 8:27Speaker 1: accessibly priced, Megan, when people are really struggling with bread
- 8:32Speaker 1: and eggs and necessities and milk, honey twenty eight dollars
- 8:36Speaker 1: a jar. You can get it for four dollars in
- 8:39Speaker 1: my grocery store. This is a luxury. It's a couple
- 8:42Speaker 1: of things going on here. One people do not want,
- 8:46Speaker 1: people don't want Mega Markel's advice on the economy. She
- 8:49Speaker 1: does not work for CNBC. This is something that people
- 8:52Speaker 1: just do not want. And it's too early. Your brand's
- 8:54Speaker 1: not a success yet. If she had launch developed a
- 8:58Speaker 1: billion dollar brand like Beyonce, like Gwyneth, like Oprah, like
- 9:03Speaker 1: Jessica Simpson, then yes, you do have some legitimacy talking
- 9:06Speaker 1: to these really fancy business magazines. But you've just started.
- 9:10Speaker 1: It's too early to be doing business profiles on a
- 9:13Speaker 1: business that doesn't exist, and you look so out of
- 9:17Speaker 1: touch saying that the twenty eight dollar jar of honey,
- 9:21Speaker 1: honey is accessible that's really expensive. When I'm in the
- 9:26Speaker 1: grocery store, My goodness, if I put something in my
- 9:29Speaker 1: car for twenty eight dollars, I know that's really expensive.
- 9:32Speaker 1: So I think Meghan here needs to be a little
- 9:35Speaker 1: bit careful. She's getting a little ahead of her skis.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Take it back and not work on the business. You
- 9:41Speaker 1: could make this into a huge success. It could be
- 9:43Speaker 1: a massive Goop like company. Remember when we all laughed
- 9:47Speaker 1: at Gwyneth when she launched Goop, Well, joke on us.
- 9:50Speaker 1: She made a billion dollars. It's a huge company. I
- 9:54Speaker 1: would suggest Meghan, don't do these big profiles. Don't talk
- 9:57Speaker 1: to business outlets until you can tell a business story,
- 10:00Speaker 1: and that is not now okay, moving along. Justin Bieber
- 10:05Speaker 1: unloaded on the paparazzi ahead of Coachella, saying you're all
- 10:09Speaker 1: money grubbing a holes. So the thirty year old star
- 10:13Speaker 1: exploded on a group of paparazzi that spotted him running
- 10:17Speaker 1: for some coffee in Palm Springs this weekend. He went
- 10:20Speaker 1: absolutely crazy, screaming at them, you are on money grubbing
- 10:24Speaker 1: a holes and you don't care about people. He said,
- 10:26Speaker 1: quote you care about profits. Really really angry, here. Now,
- 10:30Speaker 1: he's been very clear, very transparent about his struggles with
- 10:33Speaker 1: mental health, so we're going to give him a little
- 10:36Speaker 1: bit of grace here. But Justin has been doing this
- 10:39Speaker 1: a long time. He knows the photographers, the press often
- 10:44Speaker 1: tried to provoke a reaction. I'm not sure if that
- 10:46Speaker 1: happened here, but he gave it them. A photograph of
- 10:49Speaker 1: Justin buying a cup of coffee in Palm Springs not
- 10:52Speaker 1: worth a lot of money. Nobody really wants to see that.
- 10:54Speaker 1: But if he explodes suddenly, this footage, these photographs are everywhere,
- 10:58Speaker 1: so we played into their hands. Has this ever happened
- 11:01Speaker 1: to you? Has somebody deliberately tried to bait you, deliberately
- 11:05Speaker 1: tried to get under your skin. The best thing you
- 11:08Speaker 1: can do for yourself is to do nothing, to walk away.
- 11:11Speaker 1: They want to upset you, They want to make you explode.
- 11:14Speaker 1: In fact, when you get angry, they win. They win,
- 11:17Speaker 1: and you're angry, so it's a lose for you, it's
- 11:19Speaker 1: a win for them. Don't do it. I'm very good
- 11:22Speaker 1: at this now on social media, even in person. When
- 11:25Speaker 1: somebody keeps nudging me, it keeps trying to get on
- 11:27Speaker 1: my nerves, I walk away I do. I don't fight back. Ah,
- 11:31Speaker 1: I'm never going to change their mind about me and
- 11:33Speaker 1: b they win. If I don't show restraint, they win.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Another point that a friend of mine made here too
- 11:40Speaker 1: is Justin's worth about three hundred million dollars. These photographers
- 11:43Speaker 1: are not. They're living a very working class life. The
- 11:46Speaker 1: myth that photographers earn hundreds of thousands of dollars a
- 11:50Speaker 1: photograph is just not true. Most photographs of celebrities self
- 11:53Speaker 1: between like two hundred and three four hundred dollars, not
- 11:57Speaker 1: four hundred thousand, So they live very sort of regular lives.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Just In, you live in a mansion. When you talk
- 12:04Speaker 1: about money grubbing, you've made a lot of money. Do
- 12:08Speaker 1: you care about people or their profits? You're the one
- 12:11Speaker 1: with two hundred three hundred million dollars. You're the one
- 12:13Speaker 1: that's living in a mansion. It's really hard when super
- 12:16Speaker 1: rich people scream about other people making money. Has just
- 12:22Speaker 1: be given back to his fans, to healthcare, to the
- 12:25Speaker 1: society that he lives in. Has he started up a
- 12:27Speaker 1: music program to bring instruments to kids in schools? No,
- 12:31Speaker 1: he hasn't. It would be very easy to argue the
- 12:35Speaker 1: person worth all these millions. Is the one that cares
- 12:38Speaker 1: about profits, not the photographers who are driving cars that
- 12:43Speaker 1: probably are not as nice as his. Be careful here,
- 12:47Speaker 1: be careful, justin okay, quickly, before we get a break.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Candice Cameron Burke is breaking down on some of the
- 12:54Speaker 1: things she used to say to herself her body image struggle,
- 12:57Speaker 1: saying quote, I was so mean to myself. So Candace
- 13:01Speaker 1: is getting raw and real and emotional, and she opens
- 13:04Speaker 1: up about her long thought battle with body image that
- 13:08Speaker 1: started far earlier than most of us ever knew. She said, quote,
- 13:13Speaker 1: this stunned me, absolutely stopped me, because I've done this too.
- 13:16Speaker 1: I was so mean to myself. Ouch. I have very
- 13:20Speaker 1: vivid memories of being in the fifth and the sixth
- 13:22Speaker 1: grade and already feeling so bad about my body. Good
- 13:27Speaker 1: grief that stopped me in my tracks. I have said
- 13:31Speaker 1: stuff to myself, cruel, mean things to myself that I
- 13:35Speaker 1: wouldn't say to my worst enemy. I certainly wouldn't say
- 13:37Speaker 1: it to somebody I loved, So why am I saying
- 13:40Speaker 1: it to me? Candace is saying exactly the same thing
- 13:44Speaker 1: she did to herself. This wasn't somebody bullying her, This
- 13:48Speaker 1: was bullying herself, bullying yourself. We've got to stop that nasty,
- 13:55Speaker 1: ugly voice in all our heads telling us we're not
- 13:58Speaker 1: good enough, we're not thin enough, we're not small, not
- 14:00Speaker 1: beautiful enough, because it's a lie. It's a lie. It's
- 14:03Speaker 1: actually an echo. It's an echo of something somebody else
- 14:07Speaker 1: has told you, a lie that somebody else has told you,
- 14:10Speaker 1: and it's been echoing around your head ever since. Well,
- 14:14Speaker 1: let me tell you this. It wasn't true when they
- 14:16Speaker 1: said it. It's not true when you say it, So
- 14:19Speaker 1: stop saying it to yourself. My rule now is so clear. Rob.
- 14:26Speaker 1: If you wouldn't say this to someone you love, if
- 14:29Speaker 1: you wouldn't say this to Bruce, to Darby, to my
- 14:31Speaker 1: sister Christine, to my mom, my dad, why the hell
- 14:35Speaker 1: am I saying it to myself? Next time you have
- 14:38Speaker 1: a nasty thought about yourself, write it down, look at
- 14:41Speaker 1: it in a few hours, and be like, oh my goodness.
- 14:44Speaker 1: If anybody else had said that to me, I would
- 14:47Speaker 1: have cut them out of my life. They would no
- 14:49Speaker 1: longer be allowed in my head, they would no longer
- 14:51Speaker 1: be my friend. So if that's the case, why are
- 14:55Speaker 1: you allowing you to say it to yourself. Okay, we're
- 15:00Speaker 1: going to take a quick break and we will be
- 15:02Speaker 1: right back. Welcome back to the naughty an nice shirmia
- 15:06Speaker 1: handstrupture to hey, let's get to the polls DA DA
- 15:09Speaker 1: last show, we talked about Prince Harry back in the UK,
- 15:11Speaker 1: saying it's too dangerous for him to bring his kids
- 15:14Speaker 1: there without police protection. That question was quite simple, should
- 15:18Speaker 1: the taxpayer pay Let's have a look. Eighty percent said no.
- 15:22Speaker 1: This is really interesting. I think you all want Harry
- 15:25Speaker 1: to be safe. I know you all want Harry to
- 15:26Speaker 1: be safe. However, he did step away from the job.
- 15:29Speaker 1: The job was being a royal, and when you step
- 15:32Speaker 1: away from a job, you lose the perks. When I
- 15:34Speaker 1: stopped being a publicist, I lost a lot of perks,
- 15:37Speaker 1: but that wasn't my job anymore. Now Harry can can
- 15:41Speaker 1: hire the best protection in the world in London. When
- 15:44Speaker 1: Taylor Swift, when Madonna goes to London, they'd hire private security,
- 15:49Speaker 1: or they bring their security from the USA. When a
- 15:52Speaker 1: president visits, the Secret Service goes with him. Now Harry
- 15:55Speaker 1: can't hire the Secret Service. But then again, if he
- 15:58Speaker 1: can't hire the Secret Service, why should he be allowed
- 16:01Speaker 1: to hire the London please force. I think we get
- 16:03Speaker 1: into a very dangerous position when rich people traveling to
- 16:07Speaker 1: London can hire the London Police. That's not right. Therefore,
- 16:12Speaker 1: all of us, not just the people that are rich
- 16:14Speaker 1: enough to afford them, and so Harry Meghan, they've made
- 16:18Speaker 1: a lot of money. One hundred million dollar deal here
- 16:21Speaker 1: in America, higher security guards, higher private private security guards
- 16:26Speaker 1: like a tailor swift. Does we want you to be safe?
- 16:29Speaker 1: We do. We let's be very clear about that. But
- 16:32Speaker 1: at the same time, it's not fair my mom and
- 16:34Speaker 1: dad and people have to pay for you for something
- 16:38Speaker 1: you stepped away from. I get it. You can never
- 16:40Speaker 1: step away from the fame. You're going to have that forever.
- 16:43Speaker 1: But you're willing to use that fame to make money
- 16:45Speaker 1: selling podcasts, selling books, doing interviews with Oprah. I don't
- 16:49Speaker 1: know if they made any money from that, but Oprah
- 16:51Speaker 1: certainly did. It was watched by millions and millions of people.
- 16:54Speaker 1: If you're willing to make money doing that, then spend
- 16:56Speaker 1: all that harder money on being se okay oof. Let's
- 17:02Speaker 1: do a nicest of the day and nicest in the day,
- 17:07Speaker 1: said Sheeran, who's given really lovely details about his real
- 17:10Speaker 1: friendship with Taylor Swift, peeling back the curtain on one
- 17:14Speaker 1: of pop's most iconic friendships, saying, I don't see her
- 17:17Speaker 1: that much. I only see her maybe four times a year.
- 17:20Speaker 1: But when we do reconnect, it's not for Instagram. It's
- 17:24Speaker 1: hours of genuine, unplugged time. He said, we have a
- 17:27Speaker 1: proper sit down and we chat for six hours, and
- 17:30Speaker 1: he said he loves that. So it's not fame. This
- 17:33Speaker 1: is not about having photographs, Instagram pictures. This is about real, grounded,
- 17:38Speaker 1: fiercely protected friendships. And I think he's given a bit
- 17:41Speaker 1: of a deg here to Blake Lively because whenever we
- 17:44Speaker 1: see Blake with Taylor, we see Instagram, as we see photographs.
- 17:47Speaker 1: They're very very public. When EDI's with Taylor the opposite,
- 17:50Speaker 1: we never know about it. I'm told he doesn't meet
- 17:53Speaker 1: with her four or five times a year and we
- 17:55Speaker 1: never know about it. He's met with her not so
- 17:57Speaker 1: long ago, but we just don't know about it because
- 17:59Speaker 1: they don't have to put it on social media. This
- 18:01Speaker 1: friendship is for them, not for us, not the public.
- 18:05Speaker 1: I have a few friends who, oh, whenever I meet them,
- 18:07Speaker 1: they're so busy taking videos or photographs them, like, just
- 18:10Speaker 1: put your camera away, I can see you. I don't
- 18:12Speaker 1: care what I follow us seeing people that follow us online.
- 18:16Speaker 1: I care about just being in the moment with you.
- 18:18Speaker 1: That's what Ed has with Taylor Swift. Okay, now I
