- 0:27every single day. OK, so school, Oh my goodness,
- 0:30school was such a difficult one for me.
- 0:32So I've been through school and in college and in university.
- 0:35And so because of that, I was able to create what I think are
- 0:39essential items, checklists for that.
- 0:41If you want to have a successful time at school or in an
- 0:43educational system, this is for you.
- 0:45So buckle up guys, We'll go through the list right now.
- 0:48Just before that, I want to say a big thanks to Brillia, which
- 0:50is this week's sponsor for this video.
- 0:52Brillia, A homeopathic non prescription based medication,
- 0:56which is completely cool because it's way more natural than some
- 0:58of the other stuff I've taken and it's non addictive.
- 1:01There's no nasties in it. It's cool for helping increase
- 1:04increase clarity, improve concentration and reduce
- 1:07anxiety, restlessness, stress and irritability and
- 1:11impulsivity, which is, you know, for me for God's name.
- 1:13So if you want to check out brilliant yourself, I have a
- 1:15discount code for 15% off if you use the code ASPI 15 link is in
- 1:20the description down below. But FYI guys, if you are
- 1:23thinking about trying it, just always consult with your doctor
- 1:25first before trying anything, even if it is more natural.
- 1:28OK, so the first thing I want to say is that you have to have a
- 1:30tablet. Now, I'm not about tablet as in
- 1:32like, you know, something, a pill or something.
- 1:34I don't know about tablet as in an iPad or a Samsung tablet or
- 1:38an Android tablet. What I found most interesting is
- 1:41that when I'm attending lectures or when I'm attending anything
- 1:43in school, if I had my iPad with me, I could actually turn on the
- 1:47record button to record the audio of the actual class where
- 1:50I could go back home and listen over something that I may not
- 1:52have got perfectly right while sitting in the class.
- 1:54Because there's this thing called Alexa thymia, which
- 1:57causes for a lot of delay in understanding what's actually
- 1:59going on at the moment time. But to cut a Long story short,
- 2:02using the recording was so easy to kind of just listen back to
- 2:05when I'm going over my revision notes.
- 2:06Something else that I found super interesting about having
- 2:09the tablet with me is that there was something important on the
- 2:12whiteboard or slide show that I could take my camera app and
- 2:15just take a picture of a slap shot of that.
- 2:16And I have that then saved to my notes.
- 2:19Not to mention you can always use talk to type apps on stuff
- 2:23like the I know what Apple do it where you talk to it and it will
- 2:26automatically type out what you're saying in your notes,
- 2:28which is really good for people who have an issue with typing or
- 2:30writing really fast. I found this super beneficial.
- 2:33So that is like literally #1 The second thing I'd say is having a
- 2:37sensory toolbox with you. Now, I don't mean having
- 2:39anything crazy, but a few fidget gadgets or maybe even just like
- 2:43a pair of noise cancelling headphones and sunglasses.
- 2:45Something that is going to help you overcome sensory stimulated
- 2:49issues of potential issues in a setting of educational
- 2:54environment. It could be the lighter too
- 2:55bright, it could be that there's too much noise going on, or
- 2:57maybe each one like self soothe with like a STEM toy.
- 3:00Having something like that is super beneficial and I highly
- 3:03recommend it. OK, so #3 is a buddy system.
- 3:06Now this is really interesting. You don't have to be best
- 3:09friends with a person, but you need to make a buddy or have the
- 3:11school or the educational buddy team you up with somebody who
- 3:14knows the ropes or who can look after you.
- 3:16If you have any issues that on the day-to-day that it's in your
- 3:19class and you are spending pretty much every day with you.
- 3:21I found this super beneficial. I had a buddy called Tom who I
- 3:24used to travel in with and if I had any issues with stuff like
- 3:27that, Tom would help me. You know, we'd put our heads
- 3:29together and sort it out. This was amazing and helped me
- 3:31feel less alone and also it was really good because I did build
- 3:34a friendship with Tom. Not all the time that this is
- 3:36going to happen when you have a friendship with a person, but
- 3:38that person is your go to contact within the class that's
- 3:42on your day-to-day because you could be on lunch and have an
- 3:44issue and you want to talk to somebody and it's a good to have
- 3:46a buddy. OK, so #4 is a personal learners
- 3:48plan. Now this is something that needs
- 3:50to be implemented from the top of the hierarchy in the school
- 3:54where you when you attend the school, you sit down and speak
- 3:57to them and say, Hey, I have issues in these areas.
- 3:58I've layoffs and spectrum and I need help with XY and Z.
- 4:02They then make a learning plan that is distributed to all of
- 4:06the people who would be taking you for that year or for that
- 4:09semester so that they know that you need certain help in certain
- 4:12areas. And so they're not kind of
- 4:14coming to you with a, oh, I didn't know you needed help here
- 4:16kind of question. And I've been there in both
- 4:18situations where they've been, Oh, I didn't know you had
- 4:20issues. And another, the time where they
- 4:22say, hey, it's cool, we've read your personal order plan and
- 4:25it's all good. So that is a must speak with the
- 4:28person who's indoctorating you into the school when you first
- 4:32sign up. And the last thing here is a
- 4:34student point of contact or counselor.
- 4:36Now, I had a student mentor when I attended university and this
- 4:39was amazing with stuff at godsend.
- 4:41I was able to speak to them or anything on a weekly basis.
- 4:44I could make appointments to see them at any time during the
- 4:46week. And I have regular e-mail
- 4:47contact with them. So I had any issues or
- 4:49discussions that needs to be happening on more of a
- 4:51professional or official official level at the school or
- 4:54the university, I was able to come and speak to them and they
- 4:57would take that higher or they would be the person of the
- 4:59contact to go and take that forward.
- 5:01Very interesting. And it actually made my life at
- 5:03university a lot easier and more manageable.
- 5:05And I don't think I could have been able to do my degree in
- 5:06chemistry. I haven't already had that
- 5:09contact. Guys, if you think this video is
- 5:10valuable, please share it on social media.
- 5:12Give it a like, leave me a comment if you want to.
- 5:14I love reading college. I'll see you in the next 12
- 5:16guys. Peace.
