• 0:09
of overnight headlines and what's ahead across
• 0:12
the city. I'm Carol. It's Tuesday, June 9th,
• 0:16
2026. Let's get you caught up. Authorities are
• 0:20
investigating reports of an overnight shooting
• 0:22
in the 7400 block of Elsie Avenue near Stockton
• 0:25
Boulevard. A heavy law enforcement presence remains
• 0:28
in the area as deputies work the scene. At this
• 0:32
time, it has been confirmed that one person is
• 0:35
dead and a suspect is on the loose. Anyone with
• 0:38
information is asked to contact the Sacramento
• 0:40
County Sheriff's Department. Also in the South
• 0:44
Command area, Sacramento police arrested a suspect
• 0:47
following a stolen vehicle investigation. Officers
• 0:50
responded around 2 .30 a .m. on Monday to reports
• 0:54
of two vehicles having been broken into and one
• 0:57
having been stolen in the 7400 block of Troon way.
• 1:01
While searching the area, officers located stolen
• 1:04
vehicle and safely detained the driver. The suspect
• 1:07
was arrested on related charges. In City Watch,
• 1:12
Sacramento County Park Rangers, working alongside
• 1:15
the County Probation UTV team and the CHP motorcycle
• 1:20
officers, recently conducted a targeted enforcement
• 1:24
operation along the American River Parkway Trail
• 1:27
between Watt Avenue and Chase Drive. The operation
• 1:31
focused on unsafe e -bike and e -motorcycle activity.
• 1:35
Rangers issued seven citations. towed four vehicles
• 1:40
during the enforcement effort. Violations included
• 1:44
riding Class 3 e -bikes on the trail, operating
• 1:48
  e -motorcycles, speeding, helmet violations,
• 1:52
  unregistered vehicles, and licensing -related
• 1:55
offenses. Officials say several riders were traveling
• 2:00
nearly twice the posted 15 -mile -per -hour speed
• 2:04
limit, with some clocked approaching 30 miles
• 2:07
per hour. Park Rangers also noted that some vehicles
• 2:11
being marketed as e -bikes actually met the legal
• 2:15
definition of e -motorcycles and are subject
• 2:18
to additional registration, licensing, and operating
• 2:21
requirements. So beginning on June 19th, Rangers
• 2:25
will have expanded authority to pursue misdemeanor
• 2:29
enforcement for certain violations when circumstances
• 2:32
warrant. County officials say visitors should
• 2:35
expect to see the continued enforcement efforts

throughout the parkway this summer. You're tuned
