Latest / Vanity Farah with Chris Farah / Sister Wives Season 21 Episode 4 “The Pink Elephant in the Room”
Transcript
- 0:03Speaker 1: Hi, everyone. Welcome back to Vanity Fair. My name is
- 0:08Speaker 1: Chris Farah, and I am continuing my reign, honey, of
- 0:11Speaker 1: Sister Wives. It's season 21. It's episode four. It's the
- 0:14Speaker 1: pink elephant in the room. Listen, I'm excited for this episode.
- 0:18Speaker 1: It means a lot of great things are happening because
- 0:22Speaker 1: Cody has left, which is that women are, A, talking
- 0:24Speaker 1: shit about him, and also, B, realizing that they are
- 0:28Speaker 1: good women. They are safe right now in their lives
- 0:32Speaker 1: where they are, much better than how they felt before.
- 0:36Speaker 1: And therefore, they are able to deal with the fact
- 0:39Speaker 1: that they knew each other, created a show, and have
- 0:43Speaker 1: to film scenes together. And of course, they also share
- 0:47Speaker 1: kids together. And so there is this sense of we're
- 0:51Speaker 1: doing a healing kind of meeting between people that have
- 0:57Speaker 1: felt wronged a, because we have kids and we have
- 1:01Speaker 1: to be in similar situations like weddings or holidays, but
- 1:06Speaker 1: also the unspoken thing is that they keep continue to
- 1:09Speaker 1: film the show. And maybe they've tried to pitch like, Hey,
- 1:14Speaker 1: how about four different stories? Like instead of four different stories,
- 1:17Speaker 1: cause I didn't know he'd like, you know, Robin was
- 1:19Speaker 1: going to go. It's like, now it's three different stories.
- 1:21Speaker 1: It's kind of like if sex in the city is
- 1:25Speaker 1: Carrie left Sex and the City and then the three
- 1:28Speaker 1: just went on without her, but never actually filmed together
- 1:31Speaker 1: and did like a brunch meetup. They just kind of
- 1:33Speaker 1: like just did their lives and never talked. Can we
- 1:36Speaker 1: do that? And Sister Wives producers were like, no, Mary, Christine,
- 1:40Speaker 1: get over it. And Janelle, you know, make up with Mary.
- 1:43Speaker 1: And I mean, Janelle and Christine try and allow Mary
- 1:48Speaker 1: to like be in this. So it's not the worst.
- 1:51Speaker 1: And you know what? It's interesting because so many people
- 1:54Speaker 1: have drawn hard lines like Christine for sure. And Mary
- 2:00Speaker 1: and Janelle has drawn like, you know, really fuzzy lines, honestly,
- 2:03Speaker 1: but off camera. The women are not taking watching this
- 2:09Speaker 1: really well. And that's another thing. There is a lot
- 2:13Speaker 1: of therapy talk on sister wives. And there's been a
- 2:16Speaker 1: lot of therapy talk. Cody had a lot of therapy talk.
- 2:19Speaker 1: The minute we started hearing Cody say things like this
- 2:22Speaker 1: feels unsafe, it was like, oh, he has gone to
- 2:25Speaker 1: a therapist that has given him an arsenal of words
- 2:29Speaker 1: and lingo that he can use to get himself out
- 2:35Speaker 1: of situations that people like deserve his truth about. You
- 2:41Speaker 1: know what I'm saying? And he really dodged that. Also
- 2:45Speaker 1: used Robin, you know, and a lot of what he
- 2:47Speaker 1: was doing was Robin's wording. And so It's very interesting.
- 2:51Speaker 1: So that's always been a part of this. And the women,
- 2:54Speaker 1: of course, leaving him have obviously gone on journeys of
- 2:58Speaker 1: therapy and therefore now have their own semblance of how
- 3:02Speaker 1: they were treated in the family. And then you can
- 3:05Speaker 1: see them kind of buckle up against that in the
- 3:08Speaker 1: way that they get triggered in their fills. So having
- 3:11Speaker 1: said all of this, let's get in. It's going to
- 3:14Speaker 1: be like a little bit of a three-part series. solo,
- 3:20Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I guess, yeah, solo journey for each woman,
- 3:22Speaker 1: and then we come together, as you know. Janelle, so...
- 3:27Speaker 1: Janelle gets a visit in her hometown from her friend, Christina.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Now we know Christina. We saw Christina when they met
- 3:33Speaker 1: up in Arizona. Christina was her friend in Arizona. And
- 3:36Speaker 1: she talks about the fact that she basically didn't have
- 3:38Speaker 1: any friends like the entire time that they were living
- 3:41Speaker 1: in Utah because it was illegal. And so she couldn't
- 3:44Speaker 1: just go ahead and make friends because it was awkward
- 3:47Speaker 1: to be in like a coworker friendly situation when they're like,
- 3:50Speaker 1: what are you going to do on this weekend? And
- 3:52Speaker 1: she's like, I'm going to go to my sister wife's
- 3:56Speaker 1: house and then go to my other sister wife's uh
- 3:59Speaker 1: parents house and then my husband is going to spend
- 4:01Speaker 1: one night with me and then you know one night
- 4:03Speaker 1: with her you know so it's like she had to
- 4:05Speaker 1: really curtail interpersonal communication in like relationships because she couldn't
- 4:11Speaker 1: you know really be open and vulnerable so here she
- 4:13Speaker 1: is so god bless so christina also we should know
- 4:16Speaker 1: when we last saw christina she was in a scene
- 4:18Speaker 1: with janelle's other friend and christina's other friend a woman
- 4:21Speaker 1: named angela god bless her in rip she unfortunately i
- 4:24Speaker 1: believe is the the nice lady that no longer is
- 4:28Speaker 1: on this realm. And so Christina, however, has been on
- 4:32Speaker 1: Sister Wives before. We've seen her. So if that rings
- 4:35Speaker 1: a bell, that's who Christina is. And now she's in
- 4:37Speaker 1: North Carolina, honey, and she's going to help Janelle live
- 4:40Speaker 1: her best life. Now, Janelle's whole story through line of
- 4:43Speaker 1: this season is I am going to take life back
- 4:47Speaker 1: by the horns. I'm going to do things for me.
- 4:49Speaker 1: I'm going to expand my horizons. I'm going to push myself.
- 4:53Speaker 1: I'm going to try and feel the experience and do
- 4:56Speaker 1: the experiences I haven't done, even though it scares me.
- 4:59Speaker 1: And I'd rather not. Now, this is a very interesting
- 5:02Speaker 1: and relatable storyline to get back into life, you know, like,
- 5:06Speaker 1: and I get it, Janelle, and it's like just happening
- 5:09Speaker 1: for you, right? How gorgeous, how amazing. The only fun
- 5:12Speaker 1: thing about that is that she's now fully like trying
- 5:16Speaker 1: to be a life coach when it feels like there
- 5:18Speaker 1: should be like a 10 to 20 year difference between
- 5:22Speaker 1: this moment that we're seeing Janelle live, which is, you know,
- 5:24Speaker 1: her figuring out how to live. And then I don't know,
- 5:27Speaker 1: coaching people to do it. You know, that's okay, but
- 5:31Speaker 1: God bless. Okay. They are going to go country line
- 5:34Speaker 1: dancing and Before then, though, she shows off her closets.
- 5:39Speaker 1: She gets to her friend Christina in her new home,
- 5:42Speaker 1: and she's happy about that. She needs Christina to, I guess,
- 5:47Speaker 1: also validate and see what she's done for herself. She
- 5:50Speaker 1: also needs a best friend to take her into a
- 5:53Speaker 1: social space. She's like, if I meet a man, Christina
- 5:56Speaker 1: can do the talking, or I just look at him.
- 5:58Speaker 1: And she feels... Listen... Definitely someone who judges herself. And
- 6:04Speaker 1: therefore I do feel like she judges others. You know,
- 6:07Speaker 1: she is very self-conscious. She is self-conscious about whether she's
- 6:11Speaker 1: going to wear a hat. She's self-conscious about how she's
- 6:14Speaker 1: going to look. She talks about how she only can
- 6:16Speaker 1: really consider doing structured kind of dancing. The idea of
- 6:20Speaker 1: free form or letting loose is not for her. And
- 6:22Speaker 1: then they have flashbacks of Cody, who, I mean, is
- 6:25Speaker 1: the male, you know, Elaine from Seinfeld. I mean, Cody's
- 6:30Speaker 1: dancing is, I'm assuming, either like born from watching that
- 6:37Speaker 1: or just the person that in real life that character
- 6:40Speaker 1: is made out of. Just side note, it's so funny.
- 6:42Speaker 1: It's like sometimes when I, because I'm, you know, in
- 6:44Speaker 1: a whole comedy school learning how to do character acting.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Sometimes when you see a crazy character, you're like, that
- 6:49Speaker 1: seems wild. But the truth of the matter is sometimes
- 6:51Speaker 1: you see that person in real life. You're like, wow. Yeah. Yeah.
- 6:56Speaker 1: So she's worried and nervous because she knows she's not
- 6:58Speaker 1: going to look great. And it's interesting that she's nervous,
- 7:00Speaker 1: you know, because it's like we've also watched you and
- 7:03Speaker 1: your whole life like, you know, really transform. And at
- 7:06Speaker 1: one point, you know, fall apart. We've seen you guys
- 7:08Speaker 1: yell at each other and God bless. And we've seen
- 7:10Speaker 1: like so much like who cares about a one, two,
- 7:12Speaker 1: do-si-do grapevine. But it's interesting how people can like hold
- 7:16Speaker 1: on to certain insecurities. You know, I think that it's
- 7:19Speaker 1: she says that she's like, I want to see if
- 7:21Speaker 1: my body still works again. And I wonder what happens
- 7:24Speaker 1: if she can actually feel her body, feel her presence,
- 7:28Speaker 1: feel like not just more like her sexuality or her
- 7:30Speaker 1: feminine spirit, like get rid of that, like literally feel
- 7:33Speaker 1: the way her body feels and have a certain trust
- 7:36Speaker 1: in its movement. I think that it would really be
- 7:37Speaker 1: great for her. I think there's something about the way
- 7:40Speaker 1: that you move your body. And the women all talk
- 7:43Speaker 1: about clothing this episode, too. Like the way your body moves,
- 7:48Speaker 1: the way that you look down and feel in your body,
- 7:50Speaker 1: like the way that the clothes that you wear, the
- 7:53Speaker 1: way that you can express yourself in those ways are
- 7:56Speaker 1: obviously connected. And to just put on something that feels
- 8:02Speaker 1: good on your body, but is like maybe a little
- 8:05Speaker 1: loose in some areas and tight in some areas and
- 8:08Speaker 1: just like hugs a certain body. and like makes you
- 8:11Speaker 1: feel like you're about to kill it. That kind of fun,
- 8:15Speaker 1: flirty fit coupled with, if you can, a fun, flirty
- 8:20Speaker 1: dance is an electric feeling I hope for all people,
- 8:25Speaker 1: you know? So anyway, so, and I want that for her.
- 8:29Speaker 1: So this is a line dancing classic in like a
- 8:32Speaker 1: fun barn-esque distillery establishment. And Christina and her are both like,
- 8:38Speaker 1: we don't want to do this. And I'm like, well,
- 8:39Speaker 1: then why did you guys decide to do this? But
- 8:41Speaker 1: that's funny. And also Christina, like, this is the time
- 8:44Speaker 1: I really need you to be like, come on, it'll
- 8:45Speaker 1: be fun. You know? Okay. Yeah. But it's fun. If
- 8:50Speaker 1: they actually end up having a good time, they say
- 8:52Speaker 1: it's a beginner class, which is good. And they get
- 8:54Speaker 1: some like fun shots of people doing some things. And
- 8:57Speaker 1: you know, Janelle picks it up and also it's awkward.
- 8:59Speaker 1: And let me just say, I have a really hard
- 9:01Speaker 1: time learning choreography. Like I've always had a hard time
- 9:04Speaker 1: with our feet. I'm sorry. I can't even say it.
- 9:06Speaker 1: I've always had a hard time learning choreography. It has
- 9:10Speaker 1: singularly kept me off of the Broadway stage. Because I
- 9:13Speaker 1: know I can't go to an audition and it's a five, six, seven, eight.
- 9:16Speaker 1: I saw what happens in chorus line. I know it's
- 9:18Speaker 1: not for me. I can't do it. I can't memorize it.
- 9:21Speaker 1: Sometimes I'm like, Chris, can you just go ahead and
- 9:23Speaker 1: commit to like a series of dance classes, like hip
- 9:26Speaker 1: hop classes at like a gym, honey, something. So you
- 9:28Speaker 1: can just see if you can remember like, but this
- 9:31Speaker 1: is what it is. You learn, let's just say an
- 9:34Speaker 1: eight count and then when you have to actually do
- 9:37Speaker 1: it again, it's like, oh no, what happens next? Like
- 9:40Speaker 1: in the moment, you're like, okay, this, oh no. Like
- 9:42Speaker 1: the oh no moment of like, I keep forgetting and
- 9:45Speaker 1: then it's too late. And then we're on to the
- 9:47Speaker 1: next and then we're on to the next and then
- 9:48Speaker 1: we're on the next. See, if you mess up one moment,
- 9:52Speaker 1: it's hard to jump back in. Maybe. I think I
- 9:56Speaker 1: have to think it more maybe as an improv and
- 9:58Speaker 1: just do something and then just try and get to
- 9:59Speaker 1: the B. But I think that there's just, yeah, there's
- 10:02Speaker 1: lots of different ways to memorize choreography. I'm not good
- 10:05Speaker 1: at it and surely she's, it's difficult for her too.
- 10:08Speaker 1: So afterwards they take a break outside and it's a
- 10:10Speaker 1: really beautiful outdoor area. Probably, I'm assuming there's a lot
- 10:13Speaker 1: of weddings that happen there. You know, there's Mason Jar,
- 10:17Speaker 1: Twinkle Lights, board kind of weddings, you know, um, chalkboard writing.
- 10:24Speaker 1: She says that even though it was scary, her and
- 10:26Speaker 1: her friend didn't want to go in. She did. And
- 10:29Speaker 1: she has to remember the feeling. She has to know
- 10:31Speaker 1: in her bones, the feeling of dread walking into something.
- 10:34Speaker 1: And then also the feeling of relief and, or that
- 10:37Speaker 1: wasn't a big deal or boy, do I catastrophize things
- 10:40Speaker 1: as she walks out to be like, that was great.
- 10:42Speaker 1: And I think that surely it's, hard to remember the
- 10:47Speaker 1: joy and the reward, you know? And I think that,
- 10:50Speaker 1: I think a lot of things can be compared to that.
- 10:54Speaker 1: I prepping your breakfast the night before, or not wanting
- 10:59Speaker 1: to go to the gym or not wanting to do
- 11:01Speaker 1: whatever kind of movement that speaks to you, like on
- 11:04Speaker 1: a walk or whatever, but also having to be like,
- 11:07Speaker 1: I remember the feeling when I get back and be like, oh,
- 11:09Speaker 1: I accomplished that. I did it. And also once I
- 11:11Speaker 1: put my shoes on and I'm like out the door
- 11:13Speaker 1: and I'm like, 10 steps in the sun. I'm usually
- 11:16Speaker 1: very happy, especially if there's music on, but I'm like,
- 11:18Speaker 1: what the hell? What? I forget how great this is.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Sometimes I do that with showering. I'm like, oh, do
- 11:23Speaker 1: I want to take a shower right now? Not, no.
- 11:25Speaker 1: And then I get in the shower. I'm like, oh yeah,
- 11:26Speaker 1: I forgot. It's great. So, you know, I think that
- 11:29Speaker 1: it's interesting. Isn't human behavior so weird? I don't know. Okay. So, um,
- 11:36Speaker 1: she said that You know, she obviously is on this
- 11:40Speaker 1: journey to open up her life. And again, it's just
- 11:43Speaker 1: so funny. I wrote here, why would this woman decide
- 11:45Speaker 1: to be a life coach? It's just quite a jump
- 11:46Speaker 1: from just exploring the newfound worlds of life to just
- 11:50Speaker 1: being like, and now I'll coach people on it. Girl,
- 11:52Speaker 1: people have lived full on lives. People have been dancing
- 11:56Speaker 1: and have had friends. I mean, no offense, Janelle. I mean,
- 11:58Speaker 1: come on. I mean, maybe there's a certain like sect
- 12:01Speaker 1: of women who are like, please coach me from going
- 12:04Speaker 1: from polygamy to real world. In which case I'd be like, okay.
- 12:07Speaker 1: But I honestly know, and so do you, that anyone
- 12:10Speaker 1: who's paying her is like some weird rabid fan who's like, hi, Janelle, yes. Yeah,
- 12:16Speaker 1: coach me for my life problems. I'll so, uh, professional. Um,
- 12:21Speaker 1: it's not because I've watched you on the show and
- 12:23Speaker 1: I'm weird and I want to have some parasocial relationship
- 12:26Speaker 1: with you, you know? Okay. Let's jump. Christine, honey, she's
- 12:31Speaker 1: in Salt Lake City, Utah, and she, and David had
- 12:34Speaker 1: decided to play some board games. Now they have hopped
- 12:37Speaker 1: on Instagram mad as hell. over some of the discourse
- 12:41Speaker 1: Mary has had with her friends Jen and Amber over the, like,
- 12:44Speaker 1: polyg photo and maybe not feeling understood. It's so funny
- 12:47Speaker 1: because as this episode goes on, we truly realize Christine
- 12:51Speaker 1: and Mary have a lot of similar grievances. Everyone truly
- 12:56Speaker 1: feels like no one had power. Everyone was in better
- 13:01Speaker 1: situations than them. And they couldn't say anything except bleed
- 13:04Speaker 1: and give and bleed and give to an ever hungry
- 13:07Speaker 1: family Cody hole that only required an ass and demanded
- 13:11Speaker 1: more and, and made them feel like they weren't ever
- 13:14Speaker 1: giving our good enough. And like, that is sad, but
- 13:17Speaker 1: they all felt it, which is so interesting at the
- 13:19Speaker 1: same time though, Mary will least acquiesce that at some
- 13:22Speaker 1: points she had the loudest voice, which feels like girl. Yeah,
- 13:24Speaker 1: you did for the majority of the time until Robin
- 13:26Speaker 1: got there. And I think the loudest voice here means
- 13:29Speaker 1: that your voice wasn't a great voice. It wasn't a
- 13:31Speaker 1: loving voice. It wasn't like a Julie Andrews kind of voice. Listen,
- 13:34Speaker 1: if Julie Andrews was the first wife and her voice
- 13:37Speaker 1: was dominant, I would be fine with it. I'd be like, yep,
- 13:40Speaker 1: that's why I moved in. That's why I married into
- 13:42Speaker 1: this family. It wasn't for Cody. It was for that
- 13:43Speaker 1: voice and that voice only. But that's not Mary's voice.
- 13:46Speaker 1: That's not a great voice. And yeah, no one liked it.
- 13:48Speaker 1: Not one. So anyway, listen, Christine's like, listen, I just
- 13:52Speaker 1: married this guy, David, like for, I have known him
- 13:54Speaker 1: for four years. I'm obsessed with him and truly he's great.
- 13:56Speaker 1: And he saved my life. At the same time, I
- 13:58Speaker 1: probably live in a patriarchal world where I felt maybe
- 14:01Speaker 1: like a man needed to save me from the older man,
- 14:03Speaker 1: from the other man that I was with. And I
- 14:04Speaker 1: just kind of monkey jumped from one to another, but
- 14:07Speaker 1: we love each other. God bless. And yes, they feel
- 14:10Speaker 1: wronged in their, you know, portrayal. Christine feels like she's
- 14:14Speaker 1: villainized this season, which is so funny because it's like, girl,
- 14:17Speaker 1: you're not Emma on Hunt for Love. Okay, come on.
- 14:19Speaker 1: So these are like relationship compatibility game board games. I
- 14:26Speaker 1: guess in my mind, you're supposed to play them with
- 14:28Speaker 1: other couples, but maybe, yeah, you can just play them
- 14:30Speaker 1: with each other. But playing with each other is just
- 14:32Speaker 1: asking each other vague questions. You could just do that yourself.
- 14:36Speaker 1: But here they are, like questions like, what could you
- 14:38Speaker 1: do if you could do anything without repercussions for a day?
- 14:41Speaker 1: And Christine's like, oh, I would just go on vacation.
- 14:44Speaker 1: And he's like, oh, I'd fuck Elizabeth Hurley. What? Christine's like, oh, oh.
- 14:52Speaker 1: Now here's what's interesting about Christine. Christine is never going
- 14:55Speaker 1: to want to like have an art, like show a
- 14:58Speaker 1: crack in the artifice that she isn't completely happy with
- 15:01Speaker 1: the very fast decision that she made. So Christine isn't
- 15:06Speaker 1: going to be like, oh, that's not something I would
- 15:08Speaker 1: like you to say. That's weird. Okay. More specific, but okay.
- 15:12Speaker 1: Christine's going to be like, oh, so funny, David. Yeah,
- 15:14Speaker 1: me too. I love her too. Give me a hall
- 15:17Speaker 1: pass for that Elizabeth Hurley. Yep. Loved Austin Powers, you know. Okay,
- 15:25Speaker 1: so they talk about then when they first were attracted
- 15:29Speaker 1: to each other. And for David, it was Christine's looks. And,
- 15:32Speaker 1: you know, that, listen, okay. And the fact that he
- 15:35Speaker 1: didn't have to save her, you know, that he had
- 15:37Speaker 1: probably been Captain Saban, I can't talk, Captain Save-A-Ho. And listen,
- 15:43Speaker 1: she was a sister wife. She had saved herself already
- 15:48Speaker 1: from that situation. even though it was very close timing.
- 15:52Speaker 1: And yes, it would be lovely to see people really
- 15:56Speaker 1: ground themselves in a present version of themselves, know themselves
- 16:00Speaker 1: and then pick a partner. But you also have to
- 16:03Speaker 1: assume that the world isn't going to go the way
- 16:04Speaker 1: you want it to and leave room and grace for
- 16:08Speaker 1: people to fall in love. Okay. Okay. So Christine's like, well,
- 16:12Speaker 1: obviously his eyes, his eyes are blue, real crystal blue.
- 16:14Speaker 1: I love that. But also he loves his family and
- 16:17Speaker 1: he makes me feel safe. Um, and she's, this is
- 16:20Speaker 1: where she talked about the fact that she always had
- 16:22Speaker 1: to be, uh, something else because she wasn't enough for Cody,
- 16:26Speaker 1: that Mary was considered the perfect wife who put away
- 16:29Speaker 1: all the dishes, washed them on time and told her
- 16:31Speaker 1: how to cook and was, you know, overall a really
- 16:35Speaker 1: good household manager. And Janelle was good with money and understood,
- 16:38Speaker 1: I think, how the world worked in a way that
- 16:40Speaker 1: like Cody and her could converse. And Cody has like
- 16:43Speaker 1: an ADHD mind. And I think that Janelle's role was
- 16:47Speaker 1: kind of like Cody's clawed AI chat bot, you know,
- 16:53Speaker 1: like sort of thinker, philosophizer, like think tank where he
- 16:58Speaker 1: could just talk about things and then she would try
- 17:01Speaker 1: and pinpoint and focus him and like gave him, I think, clarity.
- 17:05Speaker 1: And for whatever reason, he felt like he trusted her
- 17:10Speaker 1: opinion on that more so than it feels like Mary and,
- 17:13Speaker 1: you know, Christine, I don't think Christine wanted that role
- 17:16Speaker 1: for very long. Like, I think that Christine, for better
- 17:19Speaker 1: or for worse, really bought in, and I get it,
- 17:22Speaker 1: a certain docile, soft life, soft wife idea that she wanted. Like,
- 17:28Speaker 1: I think that Christine always being like, I want to
- 17:31Speaker 1: be the third wife was because in her mind, she
- 17:33Speaker 1: wanted to be the last, the best, the prettiest, the youngest,
- 17:36Speaker 1: the most cherished, the one that was going to be
- 17:39Speaker 1: kind of like, you know, like the one that was easy,
- 17:42Speaker 1: like a baby wife. Like, you know how you would
- 17:44Speaker 1: consider treating your baby sister? Like that is in a
- 17:47Speaker 1: wife form, you know, like she wanted that. And I
- 17:50Speaker 1: think that she also really leaned into being a mom
- 17:53Speaker 1: for sure. And like a mom and a caretaker. And
- 17:56Speaker 1: she wanted, I think, to be like, that should be
- 17:59Speaker 1: enough because I take care of so many kids. I
- 18:02Speaker 1: taught Janelle's kids how to drive. That is enough. But
- 18:05Speaker 1: it wasn't enough, I guess, for Cody to like validate
- 18:11Speaker 1: that for her. And I honestly feel bad for Christine. Like,
- 18:14Speaker 1: you know, Christine could have been like, I do so
- 18:16Speaker 1: fucking much. You guys are crazy, you know? But anyway,
- 18:19Speaker 1: so- Um, they, next lateral thing is they have to
- 18:25Speaker 1: kiss without looking at each other. Um, and then they
- 18:28Speaker 1: start to do like more sexy stuff. He says he
- 18:30Speaker 1: likes role-playing. She likes car sex, um, which I thought
- 18:33Speaker 1: was interesting. And then they talk about whether they would
- 18:35Speaker 1: move across the country for each other. And she's like,
- 18:38Speaker 1: I would move across the country for him if he
- 18:39Speaker 1: got his dream job. But he's like, I don't know
- 18:41Speaker 1: what my dream job is. And she's like, well, your
- 18:43Speaker 1: dream job should be being a tour guide. Now be
- 18:45Speaker 1: your driver. I'm like, for the pyramids, is he Mito? No.
- 18:48Speaker 1: not to keep making 90 day cross references, but what?
- 18:52Speaker 1: She just wants to travel. I'm like this girl, get
- 18:54Speaker 1: this girl, honey, like a Delta mileage credit card, because listen,
- 18:59Speaker 1: Christine wants to see some things. I get it, girl,
- 19:02Speaker 1: get it. So Mary, honey, Mary comes over and into
- 19:06Speaker 1: what is like, I'm listening. Oh, sorry. Jen comes over
- 19:09Speaker 1: into Mary's house, which I mean, Mary obviously loves green.
- 19:11Speaker 1: I mean, it's like the straight whiz wizard. Like, I mean,
- 19:14Speaker 1: everything is green everywhere. All of the kitchen, what she's wearing,
- 19:18Speaker 1: she's planting a green plant into like a green planter.
- 19:21Speaker 1: And she is like, is this too much? And Jen's like, uh-huh. Yeah. No,
- 19:28Speaker 1: but yes. Just like you've over watered your plants. You've
- 19:30Speaker 1: over greened this room, you know? And Jen's like, but
- 19:34Speaker 1: Jen does give like, Jen gives Mary's second hand, you know,
- 19:41Speaker 1: second mate kind of energy. So they talk about having
- 19:43Speaker 1: a conversation again with Christine. Christine hates these kinds of conversations.
- 19:47Speaker 1: They talk about her. Mary says she knows Christine at
- 19:49Speaker 1: one point vocalized, not wanting to have anything to do
- 19:52Speaker 1: with her. But now after this ring talk, it's like
- 19:53Speaker 1: confusing because it's like, how do I move forward? If
- 19:55Speaker 1: she now wants to burn these wings rings down with me,
- 19:58Speaker 1: it's my ring. And this person also literally said, I
- 20:00Speaker 1: want nothing to do with you. So it's like, what,
- 20:02Speaker 1: what is it? What, how do I move? Um, And
- 20:06Speaker 1: also Christine says she didn't want to ever bring up
- 20:08Speaker 1: the past in conversations. But Mary's also like, and Christine
- 20:11Speaker 1: literally also said that I know why she's upset and
- 20:15Speaker 1: I don't. So it's like, how do I move forward
- 20:17Speaker 1: without discussing it? What's why A, you're mad, B, calling
- 20:21Speaker 1: it out. And then also C, like moving through it.
- 20:24Speaker 1: And the truth is Mary's right. It's weird. And I mean,
- 20:27Speaker 1: Christine has to pick her battles. Christine didn't want to
- 20:31Speaker 1: leave the show. Christine wanted to stay on the show.
- 20:34Speaker 1: And Christine, for some reason, thought she really could just
- 20:37Speaker 1: burn every bridge down and then never have to deal
- 20:40Speaker 1: with it again. But that's not really what happened. Right?
- 20:42Speaker 1: That's not really what happened. So... She reckons with the
- 20:50Speaker 1: idea that maybe it was that she didn't stand up
- 20:52Speaker 1: for Christine when Cody accused Christine of never trying to
- 20:56Speaker 1: have a relationship with any of the sister wives. When
- 20:58Speaker 1: Mary knew at the time it was mostly Robin, he
- 21:00Speaker 1: was only defending Robin. He only cared about Robin's feelings.
- 21:03Speaker 1: And so he was only now saying, Christine, you never tried.
- 21:06Speaker 1: to have a relationship with any of these women when
- 21:08Speaker 1: she does have a great relationship with Janelle. And so
- 21:11Speaker 1: in Cody's mind, he really only met Robin. And then
- 21:14Speaker 1: Mary knew that and allowed herself to be grouped in
- 21:17Speaker 1: against Christine. At the same time, Mary was still married
- 21:20Speaker 1: to Cody. So she didn't really know what to do.
- 21:22Speaker 1: And so that's like an awkward situation. Mary's also like,
- 21:26Speaker 1: I'll tell you one thing, though. Uh, besides being obsessed
- 21:28Speaker 1: with green, I'm obsessed with speed dating. Mary likes a ritual.
- 21:31Speaker 1: Mary likes safety. It's speed dating. It's green. She goes
- 21:35Speaker 1: to speed dating event for dog lovers. She has bootleg
- 21:38Speaker 1: jeans on and her dog Zona. She kind of sits
- 21:40Speaker 1: at tables and this is like a speed dating where
- 21:42Speaker 1: you just like sit around and they do fun things.
- 21:43Speaker 1: It's like basically what Christine and, uh, David are doing
- 21:47Speaker 1: where they just pick questions out of a jar, which is,
- 21:50Speaker 1: I guess, you Lazy. Now talk about simple and lazy.
- 21:56Speaker 1: These questions are A, that way, and Mary offers nothing.
- 22:01Speaker 1: So they're like, Mary, what is the simple thing that
- 22:03Speaker 1: brings you joy? She's like, my dog, Zona. They're like, okay, well, Mary,
- 22:07Speaker 1: what's like a thing that happened that was a really
- 22:09Speaker 1: intense story for you? She's like, picking up my dog, Zona.
- 22:12Speaker 1: When I rescued Zona, when Zona, when Zona. They're like, okay,
- 22:15Speaker 1: how boring. Can you imagine, like, think about having to
- 22:18Speaker 1: like put yourself out there and then just being an
- 22:20Speaker 1: obsessive dog freak. If you're already at a dog dating
- 22:24Speaker 1: event and your dog's there, maybe just consider that like
- 22:27Speaker 1: the dog has been spoken for and then just talk
- 22:29Speaker 1: about anything else. I mean, listen, there's, be honest, cameras
- 22:34Speaker 1: recording you right now. Cameras are recording her in this moment.
- 22:38Speaker 1: People are talking to her as cameras record them. They
- 22:40Speaker 1: had a signed release form. So it's crazy to just
- 22:42Speaker 1: be like, yeah, I'm just here for Zona. Not any
- 22:44Speaker 1: sort of other thing that ever, nothing else in my
- 22:47Speaker 1: life happening or has ever happened that I can talk about.
- 22:49Speaker 1: So funny. I wish she would talk about the catfish. Well,
- 22:53Speaker 1: let me tell you about the story that really happened
- 22:54Speaker 1: to me. One time, I was in a really loveless marriage.
- 22:56Speaker 1: There were three other women. Let's not talk about it. Anyway,
- 22:58Speaker 1: Cody's sister wives, have you heard it? Anyway, so one
- 23:00Speaker 1: time I got catfished online. I thought it was a man,
- 23:02Speaker 1: and I was going to leave all of this behind
- 23:04Speaker 1: and go to him, except that I told my stupid
- 23:07Speaker 1: sister wife, Robyn, all about it. And she told my husband.
- 23:09Speaker 1: It ended up being a whole catfish situation where it
- 23:11Speaker 1: actually was a woman who somehow... also has a relationship with,
- 23:14Speaker 1: with Robin. Like really, that'd be a great story to
- 23:17Speaker 1: tell in that moment. But she didn't, you know, she
- 23:20Speaker 1: just is like going on the boring ass dog shit. So, um,
- 23:25Speaker 1: she also is like, guess what? I marry, I live
- 23:28Speaker 1: a fabulous life. I own an Airbnb. I have a dog.
- 23:30Speaker 1: Have I told you about it? And I am getting
- 23:32Speaker 1: DMS from everybody, all the plagues, all the polys, all
- 23:36Speaker 1: the singles from men, from women. They can't stay out
- 23:39Speaker 1: of my DMS. Some of them are real weird. I
- 23:42Speaker 1: answer them all and I give them one areola pick each.
- 23:45Speaker 1: I wish she did. She doesn't. She meets Paul. I
- 23:49Speaker 1: like Paul. Paul's hot. Paul's real good. Paul's like in
- 23:52Speaker 1: a dice game. They're rolling dice and the dice situation
- 23:57Speaker 1: is basically they have to roll. I don't quite understand it,
- 23:59Speaker 1: but if you roll a four, it all goes to hell.
- 24:01Speaker 1: And of course, Mary rolls nothing but fours. Four, four, four, four.
- 24:05Speaker 1: I mean, she rolls so many fours that she starts
- 24:06Speaker 1: laughing and it's almost funny. I'm happy for her because
- 24:08Speaker 1: it's her favorite thing. And then guess what? Paul gets
- 24:11Speaker 1: to experience that. And she, because of the dice, can't
- 24:15Speaker 1: be talking about Zona. And so she gets to experience
- 24:19Speaker 1: life in front of someone. And yeah, Paul's hot. If Paul,
- 24:22Speaker 1: if there were actually good looking people at speed dating situations,
- 24:25Speaker 1: I'd go more, but I don't think there is. Anyway,
- 24:27Speaker 1: she's like, I'm going to start speed dating in different cities.
- 24:29Speaker 1: Once I want to move into, I'm going to go
- 24:31Speaker 1: speed dating in San Fran. I'm like, San Fran? Is
- 24:33Speaker 1: she going to meet like a tech bro? Can you imagine?
- 24:35Speaker 1: Then we get our little couplets, okay? It's going to
- 24:39Speaker 1: go like this. We get the appetizer, friendly palate cleanser
- 24:42Speaker 1: of Christina Jelm meeting up to go shopping at a
- 24:45Speaker 1: cute boutique place. Janelle tells Christina about her color analysis.
- 24:49Speaker 1: And in a confessional, we realize that she hasn't learned
- 24:52Speaker 1: a thing. She literally tells Christine, like, okay, so guess what?
- 24:55Speaker 1: I have to wear pastels. I got to wear a
- 24:56Speaker 1: lot of flowery shit. Yep, a lot of flowery shit.
- 24:58Speaker 1: I can't wear any more jewel tones, which when she
- 25:00Speaker 1: said that, we're like, oh, she loved jewel tones. And
- 25:02Speaker 1: then we realize she's sitting in a confessional in a
- 25:06Speaker 1: very beautiful, deep, dark place. black cherry burgundy that I
- 25:11Speaker 1: was like, where'd you get that from? I would look
- 25:13Speaker 1: great in that. And she doesn't look good in it.
- 25:15Speaker 1: It does wash her out. She's right. That woman's right.
- 25:17Speaker 1: And guess what? Where they go to this cute boutique
- 25:19Speaker 1: also has a woman that's the manager and a color analysis.
- 25:22Speaker 1: And Christine's like, that sounds great. I'd love that. So
- 25:24Speaker 1: then Christine sits down and they drape her. They, I mean,
- 25:28Speaker 1: they drape, they, they drape her. They drape her. And
- 25:32Speaker 1: it's so interesting because even though she's blonde and has
- 25:34Speaker 1: fair skin and has blue eyes, she's not, uh, I
- 25:39Speaker 1: think that she had not a spring. She is in
- 25:41Speaker 1: fact an autumn, which I found interesting because so am I,
- 25:44Speaker 1: but then I guess that makes sense. Yeah. I don't know.
- 25:46Speaker 1: There's of course, deep autumn, you know, all the things.
- 25:49Speaker 1: I'm not quite sure exactly what autumn, they didn't go
- 25:51Speaker 1: into it, but it looked like she was, you know,
- 25:53Speaker 1: really in some jewel tone. So that red top should
- 25:55Speaker 1: be on me and Christine, only Christine's, uh, only Christine's
- 25:59Speaker 1: in the fall, autumn Christine's. Christine's like, guess what I'm doing?
- 26:04Speaker 1: I'm going to go meet up with Mary. And Janelle
- 26:06Speaker 1: looks genuinely shocked, which then I was happy about. And
- 26:09Speaker 1: I was like, how did Janelle not know that was happening?
- 26:10Speaker 1: Like the producers really kept that from her? Did Janelle
- 26:12Speaker 1: not know part of the plot points of the season
- 26:15Speaker 1: was that Christine was going to meet with Mary? But
- 26:18Speaker 1: Janelle's like, that's crazy. She's like, you are. And it
- 26:23Speaker 1: really was like, yeah, shocked. Christine says her relationship with
- 26:27Speaker 1: Mary has never been great, that it was bad in Lehigh.
- 26:29Speaker 1: And then they show us a clip of her being like,
- 26:31Speaker 1: you know what, when you get... close to me and
- 26:33Speaker 1: when you come in the room there's just a lot
- 26:34Speaker 1: of package and you really see the fact that she
- 26:36Speaker 1: hated that girl because they couldn't say anything at that
- 26:38Speaker 1: time they were like tiptoeing around saying anything the fact
- 26:40Speaker 1: that they got that yep So Janelle says, to her knowledge,
- 26:46Speaker 1: they never got along, which I loved. It was like,
- 26:48Speaker 1: to your knowledge, Janelle, only like besides Cody, the only
- 26:51Speaker 1: other person that truly would know. Yeah, I'm sure you guys. Yeah,
- 26:54Speaker 1: they didn't then. OK. Mary says, though, there are a
- 26:57Speaker 1: lot of good times. And at one point they were
- 26:59Speaker 1: actually considered people that look just like sisters. If not,
- 27:02Speaker 1: people thought they were sisters because of how much they were.
- 27:05Speaker 1: friendly and warm. I would love Christine to hear that
- 27:08Speaker 1: and be like, what'd you think? And is that true? Um, then,
- 27:12Speaker 1: then honey, let me just tell you it's guess what?
- 27:14Speaker 1: It's high tea. It's two Queens meeting for a high
- 27:17Speaker 1: 4 PM tea. And it actually is 4 PM. I
- 27:20Speaker 1: realized I looked at Mary's Apple watch and they really
- 27:22Speaker 1: did meet at four. Isn't that so funny? It's like
- 27:23Speaker 1: some cute bakery. They sit down, Mary first, then Christine.
- 27:26Speaker 1: And it's Christine's like, sits down. She's like, it's real hot.
- 27:28Speaker 1: And it's like, yeah, it's going to be even hotter, honey. Um,
- 27:33Speaker 1: and it's So going into this meeting, Mary says this.
- 27:38Speaker 1: She doesn't know if with Christine, what she's going to get,
- 27:42Speaker 1: if Christine's going to be real or not. At least,
- 27:45Speaker 1: you know, with Mary, what you're going to get. Christine says,
- 27:51Speaker 1: you know, if you decide to burn a bridge publicly
- 27:55Speaker 1: and then you find yourself in the same space with
- 27:57Speaker 1: the person that you decided to burn that bridge, it
- 28:01Speaker 1: can be awkward. And I will tell you that as
- 28:03Speaker 1: someone who personally lived it. she does it like this,
- 28:06Speaker 1: which is true. And so she knows she has to
- 28:10Speaker 1: do this thing. She knows that she backed herself into
- 28:13Speaker 1: a corner saying the things she did. And yet in
- 28:16Speaker 1: order to move forward, she has to do this. And
- 28:19Speaker 1: she doesn't want to talk about certain things, but I
- 28:24Speaker 1: think there are ways of keeping your side of the
- 28:30Speaker 1: street clean, of communicating and expressing yourself in In a way,
- 28:36Speaker 1: now I'm going to tell you that there is a way,
- 28:38Speaker 1: like I'm saying, I believe there is a way. I
- 28:41Speaker 1: haven't found it. But there is a way to express
- 28:44Speaker 1: yourself and leave a conversation feeling like you took care
- 28:48Speaker 1: of your needs as well as respecting someone else. It's
- 28:56Speaker 1: just that in this moment... when you hear something, it
- 29:02Speaker 1: is incredibly difficult to wade through the reactions and pick
- 29:08Speaker 1: and choose words without offensive tones that someone could misdrew, miscrew,
- 29:15Speaker 1: what's the word? Mistake for you being a bitch or whatnot. Or,
- 29:23Speaker 1: you know, and I think that, yeah, it, That's, I guess,
- 29:31Speaker 1: in the very basic way where people, I guess, are
- 29:34Speaker 1: taught to start with I statements. Like, I feel like.
- 29:40Speaker 1: I'm not being listened to when you tell me I'm dumb.
- 29:45Speaker 1: You know, whatever it is. Trying to reframe how things
- 29:53Speaker 1: made you feel as opposed to what people did or
- 29:56Speaker 1: who they are. or how you're better and or how
- 30:00Speaker 1: you're different. Just, you know, um, Christine says that Mary
- 30:04Speaker 1: can ask her questions, but she might not answer them.
- 30:07Speaker 1: And she's ready to flee at any time. We know
- 30:09Speaker 1: that girl. Once honey, once Christine knew that she could leave,
- 30:13Speaker 1: she'll leave. It's like a power. And now she knows
- 30:16Speaker 1: you can do it. She'll leave anytime. It's like when
- 30:18Speaker 1: a witch learns that they can do witch stuff. I
- 30:20Speaker 1: get that. You know, the truth of the matter is
- 30:23Speaker 1: it's like finding out you can say no. It is
- 30:26Speaker 1: very difficult to say no, but if you can somehow
- 30:29Speaker 1: do it and then find the confidence to do it
- 30:32Speaker 1: again and have good reactions from those two times and
- 30:35Speaker 1: then get into a habit, like I can see a
- 30:38Speaker 1: world in which now you're just known as the queen
- 30:40Speaker 1: of now. Not that Christine leaves every situation, but listen,
- 30:47Speaker 1: it's a newfound scale. Mary's reaction at first to hearing
- 30:53Speaker 1: Christine didn't want a relationship with anyone but Janelle. Mary
- 30:58Speaker 1: says that she was a little butthurt for a second.
- 31:01Speaker 1: It was like, fine, you know, you don't ever want
- 31:03Speaker 1: to have anything to do with me? Fine. But also,
- 31:08Speaker 1: she's at least saying that. You know, Cody wasn't saying
- 31:13Speaker 1: anything about it. He was just not acting on anything.
- 31:17Speaker 1: At least Christine said the words, which I appreciated. It's
- 31:23Speaker 1: funny because Mary and Christine have been like somewhat tiptoeing
- 31:27Speaker 1: around each other's healings. Like Mary understands that healing and
- 31:32Speaker 1: having a voice and having a power and being able
- 31:35Speaker 1: to like understand that you deserve to feel good and
- 31:40Speaker 1: comfortable and situations and safe. And you can vocalize when
- 31:44Speaker 1: that's not happening or what makes you feel uncomfortable is
- 31:47Speaker 1: something she has to accept. Christine does that. Because she
- 31:52Speaker 1: does it. And she's trying to learn how to do
- 31:55Speaker 1: it too. It's like Christine and Mary have weird mirrors
- 31:58Speaker 1: of each other, I think. So then Christine says that
- 32:06Speaker 1: she said that about Mary A. And it's true. It's because,
- 32:10Speaker 1: like I said, she had a good relationship with Janelle.
- 32:14Speaker 1: She needed to leave Cody. We never had a good
- 32:19Speaker 1: relationship with anyone. And Mary was still married to Cody
- 32:23Speaker 1: and was trying, I guess, to remain loyal or remain
- 32:29Speaker 1: the good wife in the eyes of who knows what.
- 32:32Speaker 1: Jesus and all the Latter-day Saints, honey, all those late saints,
- 32:35Speaker 1: the Latter-day ones, all the early saints, they've been rolling
- 32:40Speaker 1: their eyes. But anyway, she understands that Christine was like,
- 32:44Speaker 1: I needed to say that. Just like I know that
- 32:49Speaker 1: you couldn't defend me because you were with Cody. I
- 32:51Speaker 1: get that. I understand what kind of person Cody is
- 32:55Speaker 1: and I understand what kind of person you are. I
- 32:58Speaker 1: needed to say that I had to get the fuck
- 33:01Speaker 1: out and I never wanted to see you guys again
- 33:03Speaker 1: in order for me to leave and like spread my wings.
- 33:10Speaker 1: I haven't had children, but there is like the age
- 33:14Speaker 1: of rebellion. There's multiple ages of rebellion, I guess, upon
- 33:18Speaker 1: a child's psychology, which I guess is just human psychology.
- 33:22Speaker 1: But there's the ones that happen when little kids, like
- 33:26Speaker 1: two or three, can understand the word no. Literally, like
- 33:28Speaker 1: I said, learning how to say no. I mean, I
- 33:31Speaker 1: know I said it in relationships like people pleasers or
- 33:34Speaker 1: people who can't say no, but kids, when they first
- 33:36Speaker 1: realize they can say no to a parent, it's kind
- 33:38Speaker 1: of a big deal because it's like autonomy, right? And
- 33:41Speaker 1: then some kids will just be like, you know, contrarian
- 33:44Speaker 1: for the sake of it. And then some, you know,
- 33:46Speaker 1: and then into teenager next, then we get into like
- 33:48Speaker 1: rebellious phases of teenager-ness where they'll just seemingly do whatever
- 33:52Speaker 1: the fuck you don't want them to do as loud
- 33:55Speaker 1: as possible, you know? So I think that Christine having
- 33:59Speaker 1: to be like, burn it all down as loud as
- 34:02Speaker 1: possible was just to muster like the momentum, harness, I guess,
- 34:10Speaker 1: like whatever energy to launch her out of there. And
- 34:14Speaker 1: Mary immediately understood it. Christine said, she needed to create
- 34:24Speaker 1: a firm, strong boundary and to like find myself and
- 34:27Speaker 1: to be like, who really am I? Am I just
- 34:30Speaker 1: going to please, please, please? Because I feel like that's
- 34:32Speaker 1: all I ever do is please, please, please. Okay. Okay. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
- 34:35Speaker 1: That sounds good. That sounds good. That sounds good. And
- 34:37Speaker 1: then Mary, I think, Literally, here's a part of herself
- 34:41Speaker 1: in that. And I'm sure Janelle too. Yeah, it's actually
- 34:44Speaker 1: really sad that we all felt in different times in
- 34:46Speaker 1: our lives that we really didn't manner. And Christine says
- 34:50Speaker 1: that they weren't great at communication. We weren't great at
- 34:53Speaker 1: validating each other's feelings. It was more about the dominant
- 34:56Speaker 1: person got the voice. And obviously, Mary has said that
- 35:01Speaker 1: she was the dominant voice. Christine gets to ask the
- 35:07Speaker 1: question because at first we think that Mary's going to
- 35:09Speaker 1: be the one asking the questions like, why don't you
- 35:11Speaker 1: like me? And why, what's so bad with me? And what's,
- 35:13Speaker 1: why does the boy hate me? Or why, why don't
- 35:17Speaker 1: people love my jokes? You know, who knows? But Christine's like, when,
- 35:24Speaker 1: and what were the first steps when you started to
- 35:27Speaker 1: know that you had to get out, which is really interesting, right? Because,
- 35:31Speaker 1: and it goes to show how little they could communicate
- 35:34Speaker 1: and talk to each other on any sort of like
- 35:36Speaker 1: real level, like the amount of fear, like if Christine
- 35:38Speaker 1: never had gone to Mary and be like, he likes
- 35:42Speaker 1: Robin more than he's ever liked anyone here. Why are
- 35:48Speaker 1: we here? We have to leave. Like the relationship was
- 35:54Speaker 1: that that could never happen. Women that had lived together
- 35:57Speaker 1: for this long. It's so interesting. Mary actually answers in,
- 36:00Speaker 1: I think, interesting way. She says, well, for Christine, she said,
- 36:07Speaker 1: you know, Vegas was when she wanted to leave and
- 36:09Speaker 1: Mary is surprised. And then she said that she still
- 36:11Speaker 1: had hope. Mary says that after a while though, the
- 36:13Speaker 1: hope she started to dissipate when she realized Cody would
- 36:17Speaker 1: just say like, cheers, new beginnings. And then just ignore
- 36:20Speaker 1: her for a whole ass year. She was just waiting.
- 36:24Speaker 1: But then she started to be like, I have to confess.
- 36:27Speaker 1: It was also an amount of stubbornness. I started to
- 36:30Speaker 1: realize this man was never going to break up with
- 36:32Speaker 1: me because he wanted so badly to be considered good
- 36:36Speaker 1: or to be like, I tried. Oh God, I tried.
- 36:40Speaker 1: What a godly man trying with all my wives. We
- 36:43Speaker 1: all know he wasn't. And I just, I think was
- 36:46Speaker 1: holding on to be like, who's the first to go.
- 36:49Speaker 1: But the shitty thing about that is that you were
- 36:54Speaker 1: being stubborn about a situation in which you had in
- 37:00Speaker 1: my eyes, the shit end of stick, the smallest end
- 37:05Speaker 1: of the stick, because Cody gets to have a loving
- 37:09Speaker 1: relationship and you get to be like some spinster aunt
- 37:16Speaker 1: that doesn't, that they don't want around. Like that's what
- 37:19Speaker 1: you're stubbornly not leaving. And I think that you came
- 37:22Speaker 1: to realize that. And I wonder, but I also wonder,
- 37:25Speaker 1: I guess, well, when did you stop believing all the,
- 37:27Speaker 1: and all the angels shit? Angel shit at the end,
- 37:31Speaker 1: celestial kingdom with as many people as possible forever, those
- 37:34Speaker 1: people kind of stuff. Because Christine seemingly, when she left
- 37:40Speaker 1: the family, it felt like she had given up that
- 37:43Speaker 1: religion a long time ago. But Mary is like, yeah,
- 37:50Speaker 1: so I was really stubborn. I just really wanted to
- 37:52Speaker 1: be the thorn in his side. Some would say the
- 37:56Speaker 1: knife in his kidney. And she makes that joke. Christine
- 37:59Speaker 1: cheers her. And the women come together and Mary gets
- 38:02Speaker 1: what she wants, which is just to be acknowledged for
- 38:06Speaker 1: a funny pun. Then Christine says that Mary was horribly mistreated.
- 38:15Speaker 1: And Mary says, thank you. Christine in a confessional says
- 38:19Speaker 1: that Cody and Mary never treated each other well, but
- 38:21Speaker 1: they were equally yoked. But then after he legally divorced
- 38:26Speaker 1: Mary to marry Robin, like there was a hardcore separation
- 38:30Speaker 1: and it was a palpable thing and they never got
- 38:32Speaker 1: back together. But then my babes, then they finally are like,
- 38:38Speaker 1: and I'll tell you one thing, that Cody, he's a
- 38:41Speaker 1: liar because you know, it's like real weird how things
- 38:45Speaker 1: went down. Mary's like, yeah, it's weird how It's weird
- 38:49Speaker 1: how the story of when Cody and Robin met changed.
- 38:53Speaker 1: Because I was always told that they met during a
- 38:56Speaker 1: drive-by we did to the neighbors, but then they openly
- 39:00Speaker 1: talked about how they had this I fuck moment in
- 39:05Speaker 1: the church. That Robin was in church, I mean, looking
- 39:11Speaker 1: Cody up and down. Doing this, like, If you're on YouTube,
- 39:19Speaker 1: you saw it. One of those like lower lip bites.
- 39:24Speaker 1: Maybe that, or maybe just like a little smirk. Like
- 39:26Speaker 1: she was like. you know, I'm not quite sure, but
- 39:33Speaker 1: Cody was like, I saw that look and I was like, God,
- 39:37Speaker 1: I can't even, can't even look at her. Is she
- 39:40Speaker 1: a married woman? The look is too much. Like Cody,
- 39:44Speaker 1: we forget how Cody, really fancies himself as like a
- 39:50Speaker 1: beacon of chivalry and morality. This moment happened, I guess,
- 39:58Speaker 1: before the drive-by and Mary knew nothing about it. But
- 40:02Speaker 1: the streets have also been very skeptical about how Cody
- 40:06Speaker 1: and Robin maneuvered a lot during those early weeks, years
- 40:11Speaker 1: in the first season. And just like people are being
- 40:14Speaker 1: honest now with their true feelings, not having Cody and Robin,
- 40:17Speaker 1: I'm hoping that they start to air out some of
- 40:20Speaker 1: the lies. I can't wait. Okay. Yeah. So liar, liar,
- 40:32Speaker 1: pants on fire. We're going to find out all the goods.
- 40:34Speaker 1: You guys, thank you so much for hanging out with me.
