Transcript
- 0:02SPEAKER_03: Uh-oh.
- 0:06SPEAKER_03: Hello, everyone.
- 0:07SPEAKER_03: Welcome back to another great episode of Truth Be Told.
- 0:10SPEAKER_03: I am Mickey, and joining me today is my co-host Bethany, and we are here to talk to you about the truth.
- 0:16SPEAKER_03: And where does the truth come from exactly?
- 0:18SPEAKER_03: It comes from the Word of God.
- 0:20SPEAKER_03: We like to share the Word of God with you.
- 0:22SPEAKER_03: So we want to encourage you today that if you have the Bible handy and you're going to sit down and listen to this episode with us, we would love you for you to follow along.
- 0:30SPEAKER_03: So get out the Word of God, open it up so you can follow along with us.
- 0:34SPEAKER_03: And that way you can just see the truth for yourself.
- 0:39SPEAKER_03: And we encourage you, Bethany and I always encourage in each podcast to get God's word and put it in your hand and just follow along.
- 0:46SPEAKER_03: And also with this episode, we want to also talk about um you know what that truth is.
- 0:52SPEAKER_03: And we've been talking on a topic of discussion, which is why forgiveness.
- 0:57SPEAKER_03: And we've already done five episodes so far.
- 1:00SPEAKER_03: This is a sixth episode.
- 1:02SPEAKER_03: So I'm going to let Bethany come in and say hello and just give us a short recap as to what we've already talked about, which has been a little bit, and um kind of where we're going today.
- 1:12SPEAKER_03: So Bethany, welcome in.
- 1:14SPEAKER_02: Thank you.
- 1:15SPEAKER_02: Great to be here.
- 1:16SPEAKER_02: Yes, um, it's it's been a great topic.
- 1:22SPEAKER_02: Um in part one, we started out with um explaining why we need forgiveness, and that does go back to you know um Genesis and Genesis three six specifically is the start of why forgiveness is needed, and um so and then in part two, we talked about why forgiving each other is so important, and so um, and it is important to forgive each other, not not simply to say, Oh, I'm sorry, or I forgive you and not truly mean it.
- 2:34SPEAKER_02: That's not true forgiveness, that's not true repentance.
- 2:39SPEAKER_02: True repentance and true forgiveness are what God wants of us, and so we need to be mindful of why, of just again the importance of being sincere, not just saying things, to say them to make people think that we're sincere, but actually being sincere, if that makes sense, and then in parts three through five, and then including today, part six, we we have and we'll be finishing up today looking at scriptures that should encourage us that when we truly do confess, when we truly do repent of our sins, we are forgiven.
- 3:48SPEAKER_02: And that that's not just for when someone becomes a Christian, that is for all the time between when someone becomes a Christian and when eternity starts for that person.
- 4:09SPEAKER_02: Because personally, I've seen a lot of people who say they are Christians, but they're living under Satan's grip of well, yeah, you may have been forgiven, but you're not now, and other things like that that people believe, and it's heartbreaking to see that.
- 4:55SPEAKER_02: Heartbreaking to see that people are so consumed with lies because one of Satan's characteristics is that he is the father of lies, and so he never tells the truth, so when he brings accusations against us, why do we believe him?
- 5:33SPEAKER_02: And I'm saying that for myself as well.
- 5:39SPEAKER_02: Why do I why would I believe him?
- 5:46SPEAKER_02: And so if you've missed any of the previous episodes on this series, I encourage you to take time at your leisure, not right now, but at your leisure, and just watch those, listen to them, and ask the Lord what he has for you in them.
- 6:16SPEAKER_02: Because yes, Mickey and I we do these episodes, yet the Lord may give both of us something different than what he gives you, and so um I encourage you to not take our word for it, but to discover for yourself what God has for you through these episodes, and so Mickey, would you like me to pray and get started, or do you have more?
- 7:04SPEAKER_03: I just want to chime in real quick and say that um um even though you know we have we have done five episodes on the word forgiveness, I just want everyone to understand the reason that we are very sincere about this topic is because of how necessary it is.
- 7:25SPEAKER_03: Um we think about God and how powerful God is um and what's required of us.
- 7:30SPEAKER_03: Forgiveness is is is required of us, it's a it's a requirement.
- 7:35SPEAKER_03: God expects us to forgive one another, and we are expected to be forgiven.
- 7:40SPEAKER_03: That's what repentance is.
- 7:42SPEAKER_03: When it says repent and be saved, it doesn't say, hey, just go get saved.
- 7:48SPEAKER_03: That means you need to be forgiven of your sins.
- 7:51SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 7:52SPEAKER_03: And we also need to be able to forgive other people that have sinned against us.
- 7:58SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 7:59SPEAKER_03: And so I just wanted to verify and say that again before we start on today's lesson because I that way you can keep it in your mind and it's fresh throughout the discussion that we have today, that it is necessary, it's vitally necessary for you to be in forgiveness, to forgive others and to be forgiven.
- 8:23SPEAKER_03: Every single person is a sinner, every single person needs to be forgiven.
- 8:28SPEAKER_03: No doubt about it.
- 8:30SPEAKER_03: So, to just want to be clear on that.
- 8:32SPEAKER_03: So, um, Bethany, would would you like to pray ascend, please?
- 8:37SPEAKER_02: Yes, let's go ahead and pray.
- 8:42SPEAKER_02: Thank you for this time.
- 8:46SPEAKER_02: Thank you for what you will do during this time.
- 8:51SPEAKER_02: Thank you for speaking through Mickey and I.
- 8:58SPEAKER_02: Thank you for what you will have the listeners to hear from you.
- 9:10SPEAKER_02: Lord, you know where each one is at.
- 9:14SPEAKER_02: You know what each one needs from this episode.
- 9:20SPEAKER_02: And so I pray that you would speak through once again, Mickey and I, and thank you, Lord, for what you will do through this time and how you will use the scriptures that we share.
- 9:44SPEAKER_02: Lord, it's not in our own strength that we do this, Lord.
- 9:49SPEAKER_02: It's through your power.
- 9:53SPEAKER_02: And so we thank you, Lord, for what you will do.
- 9:56SPEAKER_02: Thank you for those who are listening.
- 9:59SPEAKER_02: In Jesus' name, amen.
- 10:04SPEAKER_02: So today, as we continue on finishing up this series, yes, it's been six parts, but we truly want to share with you these verses and to allow you to sit with them, to um meditate on them.
- 10:40SPEAKER_02: Again, asking the Lord to show you what he has for you in these, and so we have three or four, depending on how you um look at it.
- 11:06SPEAKER_02: We'll be starting in first John.
- 11:10SPEAKER_02: First John chapter one, and there's so much within that chapter that to glean from and to be strengthened by and encouraged by, and I believe we have noticed these two verses before, but to give repetition, and so starting with verse seven, first John one verse seven says, but if we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his son, cleanseth us from all sin.
- 12:16SPEAKER_02: And Mickey, you know, as I was thinking more about this verse, I was reminded of our last episode when we talked about the verses in Jeremiah and how foundational those verses are.
- 12:48SPEAKER_02: And so first John 1:7, I believe, is another one of those foundational verses that gives us clear understanding that it's through Jesus Christ that we are cleansed of our sins.
- 13:19SPEAKER_02: And verse nine, the first words of those were of that verse, if we confess our sins, confession is so important, but also remembering that God cleansing us is also important.
- 13:46SPEAKER_02: Because, like I said earlier, you know, when Satan brings up accusations of sins that we know we have brought before the Lord and confessed them, and he has forgiven us, he has cleansed us from that sin.
- 14:16SPEAKER_02: We should not be giving into Satan when he brings up that accusation, and so we can be encouraged, we should be encouraged from verse 7 that God does cleanse us from all sin, not because of ourselves, but because of who Jesus is, and because of what Jesus did as the payment for our sins.
- 15:02SPEAKER_02: And then verse nine, if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
- 15:19SPEAKER_02: Notice there, both in verse seven and in verse nine, if that's a key word, I think, because in order to get the cleansing, we need to do confession.
- 15:47SPEAKER_02: We need to do the repenting, not just when it's something directly against God, but when it's also something in between us as humanity, and so powerful, encouraging, uplifting to understand that once again when we do confess, when we do repent, we are forgiven.
- 16:35SPEAKER_02: Just like those verses in Jeremiah and the big and that I shared about to encourage us to know that from now on, whenever Satan comes with those accusations, we can say, No, I'm rejecting those, I'm not believing them.
- 17:12SPEAKER_02: They're stopped here and now.
- 17:17SPEAKER_02: By the way, when we do that, when we reject those, when we resist Satan, we are obeying James 4, 7.
- 17:31SPEAKER_02: Which says, Submit yourselves therefore to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
- 17:41SPEAKER_02: So, Mickey, what are your thoughts on these verses in 1 John?
- 17:52SPEAKER_03: Well, I I like that you also referenced um that scripture that if you resist the devil, he will flee.
- 18:00SPEAKER_03: Sometimes we think that we can't escape.
- 18:04SPEAKER_03: Too much shame, there's too much guilt.
- 18:05SPEAKER_03: And like I mentioned before, I know more than once already now in the past episodes pertaining to forgiveness, that sometimes we often don't ask for forgiveness because we don't think we are worthy of being forgiven.
- 18:20SPEAKER_03: And that's just not the case.
- 18:22SPEAKER_03: That's just not how God operates.
- 18:24SPEAKER_03: It's it's just not the way that He is.
- 18:28SPEAKER_03: Um, He wants to forgive us of our sins, all of our sins.
- 18:31SPEAKER_03: We just have to ask Him.
- 18:36SPEAKER_03: Um, I like it that it talks about you know having fellowship with one another.
- 18:41SPEAKER_03: A lot of times when you have fellowship with people, um, you're gonna come um you're gonna come against people to a point where there's gonna be circumstances that arise where forgiveness is necessary.
- 18:53SPEAKER_03: Again, like I said in the beginning, like somebody may hurt your feelings or do something that they didn't they didn't mean to and they need to ask for forgiveness, or maybe you should just forgive them.
- 19:04SPEAKER_03: Maybe they have a hard time with it, like you have a hard time.
- 19:07SPEAKER_03: Um, if we just forgave those that wronged us in our lifetime, we ourselves would be happier people.
- 19:17SPEAKER_03: We sometimes tend to hang on to that kind of stuff, and it makes us miserable.
- 19:22SPEAKER_03: We need to be letting that go.
- 19:25SPEAKER_03: And just let it go.
- 19:27SPEAKER_03: And um, and then verse nine, I I love verse nine is a very, very popular verse.
- 19:33SPEAKER_03: Um, you know, if we can't if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us of our sins and cleanse us from all righteousness.
- 19:41SPEAKER_03: It's awesome because we talked about last week how when he you know he forgives us, it's no more.
- 19:49SPEAKER_03: That's what this means to cleanse us from all righteousness.
- 19:54SPEAKER_03: When you put your laundry in the wash and it comes out, the stains are gone.
- 19:58SPEAKER_03: So, what we need forgiveness for, those are stains on us.
- 20:02SPEAKER_03: And you know what?
- 20:03SPEAKER_03: Those are stains that are keeping us from where God wants us to be, keeping us from God connecting with us, too.
- 20:10SPEAKER_03: Also, sometimes I believe.
- 20:12SPEAKER_03: I believe sometimes those are roadblocks that we need to be addressing in order for God to have a two-way street with us.
- 20:21SPEAKER_03: We have to confess our sins, and it says he is faithful, he's always been faithful, he's never not been faithful, he will always, always, always be faithful and just.
- 20:37SPEAKER_03: So no matter what you did wrong, he's just about it.
- 20:44SPEAKER_03: And he's just to forgive you for it.
- 20:47SPEAKER_03: So keep that in mind as we continue talking.
- 20:49SPEAKER_03: We have a few couple more scriptures we're gonna touch base on, but really meditate on the words today because um, as we finalize and close up this series, I really want not to not to like be the dead horse.
- 21:05SPEAKER_03: I don't want to do that, but the I want to leave you guys with so much encouragement that you feel no matter what you do in your life, no matter what you do for me, this point on out, you can still be forgiven always.
- 21:20SPEAKER_03: Even if you come to God and say, God, I know I just did this five times yesterday.
- 21:24SPEAKER_03: Help me again today, forgive me.
- 21:27SPEAKER_03: Help me again today, forgive me.
- 21:29SPEAKER_03: Help me, help me, help me, and let God work in your life.
- 21:34SPEAKER_03: And when you start to know God and you start to love God, you start to feel a conviction that God gives you this conviction over your relationship with Him.
- 21:44SPEAKER_03: And some of those sins are gonna go away easily.
- 21:48SPEAKER_03: Because once you realize how much hurt you're causing to God, you won't want to do them anyway.
- 21:55SPEAKER_03: But the rest of the sins that you're hanging on to are the things that we do sometimes without even Knowing consciously, we don't, you know, we're not paying attention.
- 22:03SPEAKER_03: We need to give them to God and let them go so that they can be washed away.
- 22:10SPEAKER_03: So, Bethany, what else you got for us?
- 22:14SPEAKER_02: Yes, that's great.
- 22:18SPEAKER_02: You know, as as you were talking there, the Lord brought to mind Lamentations 3, verses 22 through 24, and that group of verses in there it talks about that the Lord's mercies are new every morning, every morning that alone should uplift us, that should give us so much encouragement, that should yeah, that should be one thing that assures us that again when Satan brings accusations against us, yeah.
- 23:23SPEAKER_03: One thing I want to point out, Stephanie is that I didn't mean to interrupt you, but I want to tell say it before I forget.
- 23:30SPEAKER_03: God doesn't change his mind.
- 23:34SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 23:35SPEAKER_03: And his word says, if he's he if he's forgiven you, he's forgiven you.
- 23:42SPEAKER_03: And what he means by he's gonna make just with it is he's made peace with it, you need to make peace with it too.
- 23:50SPEAKER_03: You're forgiven and you need to move on with it.
- 23:52SPEAKER_03: So sorry to interrupt you, but I that was a thought that came to mind I wanted to tell you because I knew I'd probably forget.
- 23:58SPEAKER_02: So and that that's wonderful to understand that you know we we need to get into the routine, into the habit of truly understanding that the word of God is true, it comes from God, and since God cannot lie, it's in Titus chapter one, verse two.
- 24:47SPEAKER_02: Since God cannot lie, and since all scriptures given by inspiration of God, we do need to grab hold and know down deep in our hearts that when we confess, truly confess our sins to God, they're forgiven.
- 25:23SPEAKER_02: He doesn't remember them anymore.
- 25:27SPEAKER_02: So why should we?
- 25:32SPEAKER_02: Why should we say that statement when it's between us as humans that we'll forgive, but we'll never forget that that should not be, that should not be in our vocabulary anymore.
- 26:02SPEAKER_02: Because God doesn't remember when we truly confess our sins, God does not remember them, and so the accusation from Satan that did you really confess this sin?
- 26:26SPEAKER_02: Right once and for all, let's believe the Lord and remember, and so yes, that I know we're spending a lot of time on this, I know, but it's that important, and that has become one of my favorite phrases to say because it's that important, because anything biblically is that important, and so I feel like we're while we're taking time on this, yes, we can never exhaust what is in God's word and the importance of it.
- 27:46SPEAKER_02: And so another verse, Romans eight verse one, Romans eight verse one, it's talking about not having condemnation and before I before I read the verse, how many times is that one of the accusations that Satan brings to your mind condemning you?
- 28:34SPEAKER_02: But Romans one sorry, Romans eight verse one tells us the truth.
- 28:48SPEAKER_02: Romans eight one says there is therefore no no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit.
- 29:15SPEAKER_02: I encourage you, if you have not yet, either underline or circle or highlight the word no in that verse.
- 29:36SPEAKER_02: Maybe write that verse out, put it somewhere where you see it every day.
- 29:44SPEAKER_02: I'm one that is big on visual, I'm a visual learner, and I assume that other people are as well.
- 30:05SPEAKER_02: And I'm also one who is big on even though we have the Bible in our possession, either a physical copy or having the internet and having various forms, various means of having the Bible online, even in our pocket, on our device.
- 30:51SPEAKER_02: It doesn't do us any good if we don't look at it, if we don't intentionally take time to see what it says, and not only see what it says, but believe what it says and apply what it says, and so Romans 8:1.
- 31:22SPEAKER_02: There's therefore now no condemnation.
- 31:28SPEAKER_02: No none.
- 31:34SPEAKER_02: And so, Mickey, what is your thought on this?
- 31:41SPEAKER_03: Um, I I think it's exciting.
- 31:45SPEAKER_03: It's exciting to me knowing that there's no condemnation, you know.
- 31:49SPEAKER_03: Um, and that um God's not gonna beat us up over it.
- 31:58unknown: Right.
- 31:58SPEAKER_03: He's not gonna keep punishing us.
- 32:01SPEAKER_03: We we already made our mistake, we we are already probably punishing ourselves enough.
- 32:08SPEAKER_03: So I love that it says there's no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus who walk not after the flesh, but in the spirit.
- 32:16SPEAKER_03: So my advice if you are not walking with Christ, start walking with Christ.
- 32:22SPEAKER_03: If you want to be freed from some things, walk with Christ.
- 32:27SPEAKER_03: Know who he is, get in the word.
- 32:31SPEAKER_03: Every day if you can.
- 32:34SPEAKER_03: So I I think it's exciting.
- 32:36SPEAKER_03: I mean, when you when you read this verse, and he's clearly saying if if you are, you know, part of my flesh, part of my spirit, then there's not gonna be any condemnation for your sin.
- 32:48SPEAKER_03: And that's like a celebration to me.
- 32:51SPEAKER_03: We should be excited about that.
- 32:55SPEAKER_03: I'm not saying go out and sin so you can be celebrated, by the way.
- 32:57SPEAKER_03: That's not what I'm saying.
- 32:58SPEAKER_03: So be careful of my words.
- 33:00SPEAKER_03: Don't miskew what I'm saying.
- 33:02SPEAKER_03: I'm saying that I think down deep we all know that we've we've all sinned and we all we have all done some horrible things that we should not have done.
- 33:09SPEAKER_03: And God is willing to forgive it, forgive us without condemnation.
- 33:14SPEAKER_03: That's what I'm saying.
- 33:17SPEAKER_03: So let that sink in a little bit.
- 33:21SPEAKER_03: See what you'll do with it.
- 33:24SPEAKER_02: So, yes, um it's Satan is the one who brings up various things to us, and it's our choice, it's our choice whether or not to believe what he says or believe what the Bible says.
- 33:57SPEAKER_02: Yes, I understand that sometimes, maybe all maybe all the time, Satan's attacks are quite frequent and quite sudden.
- 34:15SPEAKER_02: I understand that because I've experienced those myself, and I'm learning, and yet we have a choice, every one of Satan's attacks, we have a choice to make.
- 34:44SPEAKER_02: No matter how sudden they are, no matter how frequent they are.
- 34:49SPEAKER_02: Yes, I know it gets tiring when you're when you feel like you're constantly bombarded, and yet every attack we have a choice.
- 35:09SPEAKER_02: And so our final scripture for this series is Ephesians chapter one and verse seven.
- 35:29SPEAKER_02: Ephesians one verse seven says, In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of his grace.
- 35:50SPEAKER_02: Now, who is this talking about?
- 35:54SPEAKER_02: Do we know that this is talking about Jesus?
- 35:59SPEAKER_02: Well, go to verse 3.
- 36:06SPEAKER_02: If you have your Bible there, go to verse 3.
- 36:09SPEAKER_02: Verse 3 says, Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.
- 36:28SPEAKER_02: So verse 7 is talking about Jesus.
- 36:35SPEAKER_02: Verse 7, I do believe, should be another one of those foundational verses that we have.
- 36:48SPEAKER_02: And if we need to for understanding, if we need to include verse three, understanding who, then that's okay.
- 37:07SPEAKER_02: But verse seven tells us exactly.
- 37:27SPEAKER_02: Just like those verses in Jeremiah that we shared about in the previous episode, having those assurances.
- 37:40SPEAKER_02: I think Ephesians 1 7 is another assurance.
- 37:47SPEAKER_02: It's another one of those all-in-one type verses.
- 37:57SPEAKER_02: We see in that verse that it's redemption through his blood.
- 38:08SPEAKER_02: We see the forgiveness of sins, but then we also notice what is it according to.
- 38:21SPEAKER_02: I love this.
- 38:23SPEAKER_02: It's according to the riches of his grace.
- 38:31SPEAKER_02: Mickey, I don't know about you, but that right there is the greatest thing, one of the greatest things, at least, that assures me that when I confess my sins, they are forgiven because of the riches, the riches of his grace.
- 39:12SPEAKER_02: How many times do we get caught up in riches?
- 39:31SPEAKER_02: How many times do we get consumed with wanting riches?
- 39:47SPEAKER_02: But what riches are we seeking?
- 39:59SPEAKER_02: Yes, I think we will spend another episode just on that one verse.
- 40:10SPEAKER_02: If we have not already, I don't think we have, um but that let that let that verse be a strong encouragement for you.
- 40:30SPEAKER_02: Let that verse be a foundational verse for you.
- 40:36SPEAKER_02: Write that one out too, and put it somewhere you see it every day.
- 40:46SPEAKER_02: Because again, while it's in the Bible, it's not going anywhere.
- 41:01SPEAKER_02: You have to be intentional about seeing it every day.
- 41:09SPEAKER_02: So, Mickey, do you have thoughts?
- 41:16SPEAKER_03: Yeah, as we as we start wrapping this episode up, I want to just point out that when we talk about the riches, you know, like what you said, um, we think about material things, we think about money, we think about, you know, bling bling in our pocket, you know.
- 41:32SPEAKER_03: God's grace is so powerful and so merciful, it's the greatest richness you'll ever receive, other than the shedding of Jesus' blood.
- 41:46SPEAKER_03: Is to have his mercy and his grace.
- 41:48SPEAKER_03: He had mercy and grace on you when he went to the cross for you.
- 42:00SPEAKER_03: And we we we because of shame and because of the enemy, and because of people that we know don't want to forgive us because we've messed up in our life.
- 42:11SPEAKER_03: Um, God isn't that kind of a God at all.
- 42:21SPEAKER_03: When we talk about being kind, he is the kindest of the kindest that it could be.
- 42:26SPEAKER_03: He will forgive you for it literally anything, other than having a God other than him.
- 42:33SPEAKER_03: That's the only thing he doesn't forgive.
- 42:39SPEAKER_03: And he's saying how much richness he has in his grace, he's point blank telling you the richness of the mercy and grace that he's bestowing on you.
- 42:53SPEAKER_03: Why are we so hesitant and reluctant to accept the forgiveness that God wants us to have?
- 43:03SPEAKER_03: Sometimes I think we go around beating ourselves up because we haven't been forgiven.
- 43:08SPEAKER_03: And I think we get to a point where we actually kind of just get stuck in it and we like it.
- 43:14SPEAKER_03: So we don't think we need it.
- 43:16SPEAKER_03: Well, I've endured it this long.
- 43:18SPEAKER_03: You know, that doesn't matter now.
- 43:19SPEAKER_03: That was a long time ago.
- 43:21SPEAKER_03: It does matter.
- 43:23SPEAKER_03: Has come judgment day, it really is gonna matter.
- 43:28SPEAKER_03: If there's things that you've been holding on to for years that you need forgiveness for, I would get on that like right now.
- 43:34SPEAKER_03: Like I wouldn't even wait.
- 43:36SPEAKER_03: God's coming back soon.
- 43:39SPEAKER_03: Prophecies in the Bible are being fulfilled quicker than they ever have in history.
- 43:47SPEAKER_03: We are there.
- 43:49SPEAKER_03: We are so close, and you need to be there.
- 43:51SPEAKER_03: You need to be right with God.
- 43:55SPEAKER_03: And then you need to make it right with everyone else.
- 43:58SPEAKER_03: Anyone else that you need to make it right with?
- 44:00SPEAKER_03: But get right with God first.
- 44:02SPEAKER_03: And God will help you to get right with everyone else.
- 44:11SPEAKER_03: And if you don't believe me, get to know who God is.
- 44:15SPEAKER_03: Get to know him.
- 44:19SPEAKER_03: All powerful, all merciful, all loving, all kindness, all forgiving.
- 44:28SPEAKER_03: Through the riches of his grace.
- 44:34SPEAKER_03: And he has plenty.
- 44:35SPEAKER_03: And he doesn't mind sharing.
- 44:37SPEAKER_03: He does not mind giving forgiveness on you.
- 44:40SPEAKER_03: He is not a respecter of persons.
- 44:42SPEAKER_03: He's not going to forgive somebody else and go, yeah, I forgave them, but I'm not going to forgive you.
- 44:46SPEAKER_03: God is not that God.
- 44:47SPEAKER_03: We do those things.
- 44:48SPEAKER_03: We do those things in our flesh and our behavior and our poor behavior, mind you.
- 44:52SPEAKER_03: God doesn't walk around with poor behavior.
- 44:55SPEAKER_03: It's impossible for him to behave like that.
- 44:59SPEAKER_03: We are the foolish ones.
- 45:01SPEAKER_03: We're the ones that aren't full of the wisdom and and the knowledge that we're supposed to be obtaining.
- 45:07SPEAKER_03: If we do not believe that his forgiveness is truthful or good enough, we need to be very careful.
- 45:17SPEAKER_03: If we doubt for a minute that his forgiveness isn't good enough, you're walking on some dangerous territory.
- 45:23SPEAKER_03: You really are.
- 45:24SPEAKER_03: Because that is a complete mockery of God.
- 45:33SPEAKER_03: And you had better do the same.
- 45:35SPEAKER_03: We had all better start doing the same.
- 45:38SPEAKER_03: So many times I held on to shame.
- 45:40SPEAKER_03: Guilt, guilt, guilt.
- 45:42SPEAKER_03: I let it just eat me alive.
- 45:45SPEAKER_03: Well, that person won't forgive me.
- 45:48SPEAKER_03: Well, that's on them.
- 45:50SPEAKER_03: Don't leave it on you.
- 45:54SPEAKER_03: If they want to have a hardened heart and be like that and be ugly like that, they can be like that.
- 45:59SPEAKER_03: But give it to God.
- 46:01SPEAKER_03: Even if they won't forgive you, the other person won't forgive you.
- 46:05SPEAKER_03: Sometimes we think we have to be forgiven back in order to actually forgive them to begin with.
- 46:10SPEAKER_03: That's not how God operates either.
- 46:14SPEAKER_03: It's not a first come, first serve, or oh, if you do this, then I'll do that.
- 46:18SPEAKER_03: It's not, there's no expectation in it.
- 46:24SPEAKER_03: And the greater the riches is riches of his grace when you forgive someone without an expectation.
- 46:34SPEAKER_03: If you just forgive someone even though they don't deserve it, even though they don't accept it, even though they don't say it back, even though they don't want it, if you're doing it with no expectation of anything coming back to you, God's going to give you even more riches riches of riches of his grace.
- 46:54SPEAKER_03: He really will.
- 47:00SPEAKER_03: Because that's the best way to forgive.
- 47:04SPEAKER_03: We gotta do better.
- 47:07SPEAKER_03: We're running out of time.
- 47:10SPEAKER_03: Gotta start figuring some things out.
- 47:12SPEAKER_03: Get to know who God is.
- 47:17SPEAKER_03: You know how merciful and loving your heavenly father is.
- 47:20SPEAKER_03: He's your heavenly father, he's your dad.
- 47:26SPEAKER_03: He loves you so much, and he wants you to be able to go on without carrying all of that guilt and shame for what you've done, or what you've done to other people, or what other people have done to you.
- 47:45SPEAKER_03: And if that is you, I would right off the bat ask God to forgive you for that.
- 47:53SPEAKER_03: Because I've been guilty of that.
- 47:55SPEAKER_03: I've had to ask him time and time again.
- 47:59SPEAKER_03: Oh, excuse me.
- 48:01SPEAKER_03: Excuse me.
- 48:01SPEAKER_03: But I would I've had to ask God to forgive me multiple times for not believing in the truth in his word.
- 48:10SPEAKER_03: Shame on me.
- 48:15SPEAKER_03: He said he's forgiven me.
- 48:17SPEAKER_03: He said it's it's it's under the it's under the blood.
- 48:20SPEAKER_03: It's white as snow now.
- 48:23SPEAKER_03: We are cleansed, we're renewed.
- 48:26SPEAKER_03: We are now walking in righteousness once we are forgiven.
- 48:30SPEAKER_03: You are not in righteousness if you are not forgiven.
- 48:36SPEAKER_03: You are sadly mistaken, is what you are.
- 48:39SPEAKER_03: You are not righteous.
- 48:42SPEAKER_03: So I encourage you today, Bethany, and I really want to encourage you as we close out this episode and this series.
- 48:51SPEAKER_03: Um, if you don't know Jesus, seek him out.
- 48:58SPEAKER_03: Get to know him, get him in your heart.
- 49:01SPEAKER_03: He can do a number on you.
- 49:05SPEAKER_03: I can't change your heart.
- 49:07SPEAKER_03: Bethany can't change your heart, but I know I know God can and does and will.
- 49:17SPEAKER_03: Ask and you shall receive.
- 49:19SPEAKER_03: Ask and it shall be giving.
- 49:22SPEAKER_03: Why aren't we asking?
- 49:24SPEAKER_03: Why aren't we asking for forgiveness?
- 49:26SPEAKER_03: That's all we have to do.
- 49:29SPEAKER_03: I find it so amazing that um kids are good examples of this, teenagers, especially.
- 49:36SPEAKER_03: They don't want permission, they don't want to have to ask, they just want to be able to take, or they think it should just be there.
- 49:47SPEAKER_03: I don't know if any of you have a kid that has their hand on all the time, want money.
- 49:52SPEAKER_03: They just think the money should be there always, you know.
- 49:57SPEAKER_03: They don't think they should have to ask.
- 50:00SPEAKER_03: I tell my daughter, if you want something, ask for it.
- 50:04SPEAKER_03: If you're not asking, you're stealing.
- 50:07SPEAKER_03: If you're taking something without asking for it, something that doesn't belong to you, you're considered a thief.
- 50:13SPEAKER_03: Don't do it.
- 50:14SPEAKER_03: You're stealing.
- 50:16SPEAKER_03: You are breaking the law.
- 50:20SPEAKER_03: And it's funny how many times she'll laugh at me and be like, ha ha, whatever.
- 50:23SPEAKER_03: It's not funny, actually.
- 50:24SPEAKER_03: It's serious.
- 50:26SPEAKER_03: Outgrow that behavior because once you do, or if you don't, I mean, you won't like the consequences.
- 50:34SPEAKER_03: I know a gal that I I knew her when we were teenagers, and she was mischievous, and she was a kleptomaniac, literally diagnosed a kleptomaniac.
- 50:44SPEAKER_03: Never met one before, but I met her.
- 50:47SPEAKER_03: She sold anything and everything from people.
- 50:53SPEAKER_03: Some of it I thought, oh my gosh, why would you ever sell that from somebody?
- 50:56SPEAKER_03: You don't steal someone's dirty clothes or whatever.
- 50:58SPEAKER_03: You know, you don't steal stuff out of someone's laundry basket.
- 51:00SPEAKER_03: I think it's just weird.
- 51:01SPEAKER_03: But she just stole all kinds of stuff.
- 51:03SPEAKER_03: She was she had a problem.
- 51:07SPEAKER_03: I remember talking to her as teenagers and telling her, if you don't stop doing this, the outcome down the road is going to be far worse than what it is right now.
- 51:21SPEAKER_03: You need to get help and you need to stop.
- 51:24SPEAKER_03: You need to give back what you've taken and ask people to forgive you.
- 51:28SPEAKER_03: Nope, she just kept on doing it.
- 51:29SPEAKER_03: And she went to prison for robbery.
- 51:34SPEAKER_03: Went to prison for robbery.
- 51:39SPEAKER_03: Because she kept doing it.
- 51:42SPEAKER_03: Are you in prison today?
- 51:45SPEAKER_03: Some of us are sitting in prison right now and we don't even have we don't even have bars in front of our face.
- 51:50SPEAKER_03: We are in prison to unforgiveness.
- 51:55SPEAKER_03: We need to come clean.
- 51:57SPEAKER_03: God wants us to walk around righteous.
- 52:02SPEAKER_03: Being unforgiven is not righteous with God.
- 52:06SPEAKER_03: If you are a Christian and you're holding on to animosity against anyone, if you say you believe in God and you have God in your heart and you are holding on to something that you need to be getting rid of, you are not walking around in God's obedience or his righteousness.
- 52:23SPEAKER_03: You need to take it to the Father.
- 52:27SPEAKER_03: I really want to encourage you guys today to do that.
- 52:32SPEAKER_03: Bethany, is there anything you would like to add in closing?
- 52:39SPEAKER_01: No.
- 52:40SPEAKER_03: No.
- 52:41SPEAKER_03: Um, before we close out, we'll just say a prayer and then we'll finish.
- 52:46SPEAKER_03: But I just again thank you, Bethany, for the scripture.
- 52:49SPEAKER_03: Um, it's always good.
- 52:50SPEAKER_03: I mean, I don't think there's a word in the Bible that's not good, right?
- 52:54SPEAKER_03: And we could probably we say that about every every scripture.
- 52:56SPEAKER_03: It's so good.
- 52:57SPEAKER_03: But it is good.
- 52:58SPEAKER_03: It's like a fresher breath of air every day to be able to open up God's word and be able to share it and have it.
- 53:03SPEAKER_03: We are so privileged right now.
- 53:05SPEAKER_03: And if you are listening, I hope you understand that if you have the word of God and it's sitting on a shelf and it's all dirty, wipe it off and start taking it everywhere you go.
- 53:16SPEAKER_03: Take it everywhere you go.
- 53:19SPEAKER_03: You should have the Bible with you.
- 53:22SPEAKER_03: It's an instruction manual to this entire life that we're living.
- 53:28SPEAKER_03: I encourage you to do that.
- 53:31SPEAKER_03: So, um, and also if if you're struggling, you can reach out to Bethany or I.
- 53:37SPEAKER_03: At any point in time, we'll we'll be glad to pray with you.
- 53:40SPEAKER_03: Um, if you're having trouble forgiving someone, you need to talk to talk to someone, you can.
- 53:46SPEAKER_03: We don't want to gossip about your situation.
- 53:49SPEAKER_03: But we are here to help.
- 53:51SPEAKER_03: Just want to let you know the lifeline is open.
- 53:53SPEAKER_03: But we just want to let you know that we're not here to um jump on a bandwagon of gossiping about other people or or putting down other people.
- 54:02SPEAKER_03: Um, if you come to me and you tell me that you have a person that you need to figure out, I don't even know their name.
- 54:07SPEAKER_03: God knows who they are.
- 54:12SPEAKER_03: Give it to God.
- 54:14SPEAKER_03: Ask God, Lord, please help me to forgive them.
- 54:18SPEAKER_03: Please help them to forgive me.
- 54:21SPEAKER_03: So you can be on level ground.
- 54:24SPEAKER_03: So, with that being said, let's praise out, all right?
- 54:28SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 54:28SPEAKER_03: Heavenly Father, God, Lord, we thank you for today.
- 54:32SPEAKER_03: We thank you for this series that we've been on, Lord.
- 54:35SPEAKER_03: We thank you for all six episodes, Lord.
- 54:38SPEAKER_03: We thank you for your forgiveness, even though we don't deserve it.
- 54:41SPEAKER_03: We thank you for for being able to help us to walk righteously in your obedience.
- 54:47SPEAKER_03: Lord, we just I just ask, Lord, that if anyone's listening today, that if they don't know you, that they just come to know you.
- 54:55SPEAKER_03: They just pray to you, Lord, and and ask Jesus into their hearts, Lord.
- 55:00SPEAKER_03: Super simple.
- 55:02SPEAKER_03: Lord, I also ask that they just ask for for forgiveness and that they repent of their sins, God.
- 55:09SPEAKER_03: And Lord, help me of any sense that I have have that I need repentance of, Lord.
- 55:14SPEAKER_03: And Lord, I thank you just for just for all the riches of your grace.
- 55:20SPEAKER_03: Even though we feel inadequate and undeserving, thank you.
- 55:24SPEAKER_03: Thank you, thank you, thank you.
- 55:26SPEAKER_03: We need to be praising and worshiping your name, Lord.
- 55:29SPEAKER_03: We just thank you for all of the things you bestowed upon us and all the things you do for us.
- 55:33SPEAKER_03: We thank you for this podcast.
- 55:34SPEAKER_03: We thank you for this episode.
- 55:35SPEAKER_03: Lord, I thank you for Bethany.
- 55:38SPEAKER_03: Lord, I just ask that you watch over all of us and all those that are listening, that you just be um be there, readily there, Lord, and just um place your hands and arms around us and protect us, Lord.
- 55:50SPEAKER_03: The world is a dark, ugly place, God.
- 55:52SPEAKER_03: We just really need your protection.
- 55:55SPEAKER_03: We know that time is coming soon where it's gonna be all over.
- 55:59SPEAKER_03: We need to make a decision today, Lord.
- 56:01SPEAKER_03: Help us to do that, Lord.
- 56:03SPEAKER_03: We we ask all of these things in your precious mighty name.
- 56:06SPEAKER_03: Amen.
- 56:08SPEAKER_03: Alrighty.
- 56:09SPEAKER_03: Again, if you have any questions, you can reach out to Bethany or I.
- 56:12SPEAKER_03: Don't forget to like, share, and follow.
- 56:15SPEAKER_03: And um yeah, and until our next episode, we are going to start a new series.
- 56:20SPEAKER_03: So um, if you miss any of these, go back and watch them.
- 56:23SPEAKER_03: Go back, they're powerful, they're really, really good.
- 56:25SPEAKER_03: Put them all together, write down the scripture, get that word in your hands, get your Bible off the shelf.
- 56:30SPEAKER_03: Let's get busy for Jesus because you know what?
- 56:33SPEAKER_03: That's what we're supposed to be doing.
- 56:34SPEAKER_03: It says to go out and preach the gospel.
- 56:36SPEAKER_03: If you're not reading the word, I know you're not preaching the word or sharing it.
- 56:39SPEAKER_03: So you might want to be asking people, hey, do you know Jesus today?
- 56:42SPEAKER_03: Because a lot of people don't.
- 56:45SPEAKER_03: We need we need to let people know Jesus is um coming back soon.
- 56:51SPEAKER_03: And if you don't know him, you're in a you're in a big trouble.
- 56:54SPEAKER_03: So we just love you and we thank you for being here.
- 56:56SPEAKER_03: We thank you for listening.
- 56:57SPEAKER_03: We hope you enjoyed this episode.
- 56:58SPEAKER_03: And until next time, this was another great episode of Truth Be Told.
- 57:02SPEAKER_03: And uh, we will see you guys again soon.
- 57:04SPEAKER_03: Thank you, and God bless you.
