- 0:02Speaker 1: To teas in a pod which Teddy Mellencamp and Camrad Judge.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Hi, guys, welcome to another episode of the twat Seat.
- 0:22Speaker 3: Today we have Hilario Baldwin.
- 0:25Speaker 4: Hi, Tam, Hey, how are you good.
- 0:28Speaker 2: I'm going to give a little info on her for
- 0:31Speaker 2: those of you because we're not talking housewives here today.
- 0:33Speaker 3: We're talking Hilario Baldwin.
- 0:37Speaker 5: Although she's a housewife of the housewife with seven kids.
- 0:40Speaker 3: Oh my gosh.
- 0:41Speaker 2: She has a new book out now called Manual not included.
- 0:45Speaker 2: There's no set of instructions when it comes to navigating
- 0:48Speaker 2: the challenges life throws at us. However, by sharing our
- 0:51Speaker 2: narratives and finding our commonality, we can better deal with
- 0:55Speaker 2: what comes our way. She's married to Alec Baldwin. Was
- 1:00Speaker 2: a lot of children and a lot of animals, a
- 1:05Speaker 2: lot of animals, and I know she loves horses. I've
- 1:07Speaker 2: actually met with her once before. But let's bring her
- 1:10Speaker 2: in and ask her all the questions that you guys have.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Hell you friend, Hello, how are you good?
- 1:20Speaker 4: How are you doing?
- 1:22Speaker 1: I'm doing well. My book comes out today, so I'm
- 1:26Speaker 1: like all the emotions.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, let's see the cover. Look at that
- 1:31Speaker 2: amazing cover. That was a beautiful cover.
- 1:34Speaker 1: Well the cover is it's it's like a box, and
- 1:38Speaker 1: like the one thing that I really wanted was like
- 1:40Speaker 1: a really messed up, ripped up box, because sometimes don't
- 1:42Speaker 1: you feel that, like at this point in our life,
- 1:44Speaker 1: sometimes if we like a box with our life, it
- 1:47Speaker 1: would look like this.
- 1:50Speaker 3: Mine would look worse than that. I think mine would
- 1:52Speaker 3: look worse.
- 1:53Speaker 1: Kids, I mean, I mean it was just I even
- 1:57Speaker 1: thought to, like, you know, put return to send her
- 1:59Speaker 1: on it, but we did not do that. But yeah,
- 2:02Speaker 1: it was funny and I'm definitely you know, trying to
- 2:04Speaker 1: get all of the children in the photo at the
- 2:07Speaker 1: same time was a challenge.
- 2:10Speaker 2: So did that actually happen or did you have to
- 2:12Speaker 2: photoshop some in because there's no I can't even get
- 2:15Speaker 2: my four kids to look in the same direction.
- 2:18Speaker 1: I think it was probably a combination. They were definitely
- 2:20Speaker 1: all there, I mean, that's.
- 2:24Speaker 4: What they weren't all looking in the same direction.
- 2:26Speaker 1: I to be honest, I didn't. I can't. I can't
- 2:30Speaker 1: say that it's not necessarily true. I would find it
- 2:32Speaker 1: hard to believe this would be like some huge miracle,
- 2:38Speaker 1: But yes, no, it was. It was a wild, wild
- 2:41Speaker 1: wild day that we did, and we put Alec in a.
- 2:44Speaker 5: Box you know what, Alan, Nobody nobody put to Alec
- 2:47Speaker 5: in a box but you.
- 2:50Speaker 1: It was actually more of my kids. And then it
- 2:51Speaker 1: was married Lou the one who has the tape here,
- 2:54Speaker 1: who decided to tape his mouth and we just thought
- 2:56Speaker 1: that was funny.
- 2:57Speaker 4: Just like no, Teddy.
- 2:58Speaker 5: Teddy said that you guys have met before we met, Yes,
- 3:02Speaker 5: we met before.
- 3:03Speaker 4: I want to hear all about it.
- 3:05Speaker 3: Let's let's remember your take on. Do you remember us
- 3:08Speaker 3: meeting Mombring?
- 3:10Speaker 1: Were you on Mombring? Because this is my memory of it.
- 3:13Speaker 3: No, No, we had. We both did an audition together,
- 3:19Speaker 3: that's why.
- 3:20Speaker 1: But it was like a zoom.
- 3:21Speaker 4: It was during COVID.
- 3:24Speaker 1: I remember with Terrence.
- 3:26Speaker 4: Yes, I do yes And what was that? What was
- 3:29Speaker 4: that audition for?
- 3:31Speaker 3: We had a meeting and then soon after we both
- 3:34Speaker 3: we both got a fair amount of hate. How did
- 3:36Speaker 3: you recover from that?
- 3:38Speaker 1: I feel like that was like it's time. So I
- 3:40Speaker 1: write in my book that there's going to be like
- 3:42Speaker 1: in our history books, there's going to be a time
- 3:44Speaker 1: when women were just because I was like, you know,
- 3:47Speaker 1: the Witches of twenty twenty.
- 3:49Speaker 4: You know, well, I think there's three witches right here.
- 3:52Speaker 1: You know what, I were a good company. Yeah, No,
- 3:56Speaker 1: I mean I think it was when I look back
- 3:59Speaker 1: to that, I always try to have empathy for how
- 4:04Speaker 1: much the world was hurting. And if you look at history,
- 4:09Speaker 1: and I studied history in school, when there's a pandemic,
- 4:15Speaker 1: people go after each other, yea. And you know, I
- 4:19Speaker 1: think it was also, you know, our business, this business
- 4:22Speaker 1: was trying to figure out how to continue to create
- 4:24Speaker 1: content during a time when we couldn't all be together.
- 4:27Speaker 1: So then we decided to be mean and go after
- 4:30Speaker 1: each other for like the cost crazy, insantan things in
- 4:32Speaker 1: the world. And hopefully we're not going to do that again.
- 4:37Speaker 1: I am such a literal person, and so I really
- 4:42Speaker 1: struggle when things don't make sense, Like I've really obsessed
- 4:46Speaker 1: about it over and over and again. So I used
- 4:48Speaker 1: to like reach out to people who were like getting canceled,
- 4:51Speaker 1: and I would say, let's go, let's go have a drink,
- 4:54Speaker 1: let's grab a coffee, and we'd like sit there and
- 4:57Speaker 1: I'd be like, what are you win for? I was
- 5:02Speaker 1: like the best therapy ever because it was so dumb.
- 5:07Speaker 1: But I think that we come with like just the
- 5:10Speaker 1: amount of people, and you can sell anything, you can
- 5:12Speaker 1: make an amount of misinformation. But like I do think
- 5:16Speaker 1: at this point I've grown up a lot. I'm not
- 5:19Speaker 1: into like being like the I don't want people please do.
- 5:21Speaker 1: I want people to please with me absolutely. I want
- 5:24Speaker 1: to have a good time. I want if people like me.
- 5:25Speaker 1: I want to be a likable person, right, But like I.
- 5:29Speaker 4: Also like I.
- 5:33Speaker 3: It doesn't work for me.
- 5:35Speaker 1: No, I just think that there's a point of like,
- 5:37Speaker 1: of course we like when other people like us. That's
- 5:39Speaker 1: that's like a nice feeling. However, I think that there's
- 5:44Speaker 1: times where you just got to be like, I care
- 5:46Speaker 1: more about my mental health and paying attention to, you know,
- 5:51Speaker 1: focusing on positivity and nice people than like trying to
- 5:54Speaker 1: dance for these people over there that weren't going to
- 5:56Speaker 1: like you anyway. First of all, I saw to tease
- 5:59Speaker 1: and then and so my got I'm here. It's that
- 6:04Speaker 1: I didn't realize it was called twats. I love this, Yes,
- 6:07Speaker 1: twats with the you know, I mean, if you want
- 6:10Speaker 1: to have like a convert, do either of you guys
- 6:12Speaker 1: speak another language?
- 6:13Speaker 4: No, we barely speak English.
- 6:16Speaker 1: Okay, So actually, like if you read in my book
- 6:19Speaker 1: this is again one of the things that bothered me
- 6:21Speaker 1: so much is like there's so many bilingual people out there,
- 6:24Speaker 1: and like, I've been bilingual my whole life, and so
- 6:27Speaker 1: it's like, what are what if they were like to
- 6:29Speaker 1: start at home? Like what can we try to like
- 6:32Speaker 1: tear her apart for? And I guess it's because I
- 6:34Speaker 1: speak two languages. But then you like you think as well, which,
- 6:39Speaker 1: by the way, when you change the accent in the way,
- 6:41Speaker 1: it's actually talk about brain function this as well. When
- 6:44Speaker 1: you change your accent, actually you're using different parts of
- 6:47Speaker 1: your brain. So it's a really interesting thing. And I
- 6:50Speaker 1: hope people eventually will go to be like, wow, that's
- 6:51Speaker 1: so cool, Like people speak two languages and maybe they're
- 6:54Speaker 1: going to sound a little bit different. But asking them
- 6:56Speaker 1: not to do that is like telling them to do
- 6:58Speaker 1: yoga and then don't be flexible.
- 7:00Speaker 4: Well that's like dorit. Do you watch Beverly Hills Housewives?
- 7:04Speaker 5: No, she gets she gets a little ship because every
- 7:07Speaker 5: once in a while she is very well traveled.
- 7:10Speaker 4: Her husband is British, I believe.
- 7:12Speaker 5: And so everyone saw she has like this British accent
- 7:15Speaker 5: and everyone's like, where did that come from?
- 7:17Speaker 4: Well, you know, you were raised in Connecticut. How are she?
- 7:20Speaker 1: But you know that that's normal. So there's this really
- 7:22Speaker 1: cool article I write about in my book. There's a
- 7:24Speaker 1: really cool article in Athletic, which is a part of
- 7:27Speaker 1: the New York Times, and it's about soccer players footballers
- 7:32Speaker 1: in Europe and how they move around to different teams.
- 7:34Speaker 1: And we're talking about male athletes, right, and they talk
- 7:39Speaker 1: all about code switching and how it's normal that these
- 7:42Speaker 1: men to go and change as adults to different teams
- 7:46Speaker 1: and they take on mannerisms of the other culture. Language,
- 7:50Speaker 1: the way that they speak is going to change, and
- 7:52Speaker 1: that this is celebrated. It's the most beautifully written article
- 7:55Speaker 1: in the world. And I both loved it because I'm like, yes,
- 7:58Speaker 1: this is what it is, and like, oh my god,
- 8:00Speaker 1: I'm so glad that people are getting it. And it's
- 8:02Speaker 1: about men. So we look at when it. I mean,
- 8:05Speaker 1: it happened to me, happened to Madonna.
- 8:07Speaker 4: You know, I was gonna say, I want to compare.
- 8:11Speaker 3: What I need to be well traveled enough to have
- 8:14Speaker 3: an accent? That's my next goal, what is it?
- 8:17Speaker 1: But that's what kisses me off of. It's like, you like,
- 8:19Speaker 1: so you have men, and it's like Oh, it's so great,
- 8:22Speaker 1: this is so fantastic. And then you're like all these
- 8:24Speaker 1: women when we're doing exactly the same things. We have
- 8:26Speaker 1: the same brain, we're the same cords and the way
- 8:29Speaker 1: that our mouth works and all this kind of stuff,
- 8:31Speaker 1: and but we're like the bad ones. But it ultimately,
- 8:33Speaker 1: for me, it was never there anything to do with
- 8:36Speaker 1: my language and anything anyway. It had to do with
- 8:39Speaker 1: that I'm a woman, I'm married to Alex and it
- 8:42Speaker 1: was fun. You know, it's fun to beat up people
- 8:44Speaker 1: like us. Sometimes that's what we Unfortunately, that's ultimately what
- 8:48Speaker 1: it's about, you know. I also talk about in my
- 8:51Speaker 1: book that I had ADHD and dyslexia, and I love
- 8:56Speaker 1: that I can talk about that now because like growing
- 8:58Speaker 1: up and having learning differences, it was just like extraordinarily shameful.
- 9:01Speaker 1: And I love especially since one of my kids has
- 9:04Speaker 1: ADHD as well. I love that now we can look
- 9:07Speaker 1: at it as like their superpowers to it, and we
- 9:08Speaker 1: can creative and anyways. I think that if you really
- 9:14Speaker 1: want to have a conversation about the way that my
- 9:17Speaker 1: brain works and how I struggle with you know, memory
- 9:21Speaker 1: and the way things sometimes I'm pronouncing things and I
- 9:24Speaker 1: get stuck and I get distracted. I mean, it's a
- 9:26Speaker 1: whole chaotic thing up there, and so it was actually
- 9:31Speaker 1: like a much deeper, darker thing than simply you know what,
- 9:35Speaker 1: code switching. But it was a combination of a lot
- 9:37Speaker 1: of things. But nobody cares in that moment when any
- 9:40Speaker 1: that's a felt No one cares about what's true. They
- 9:43Speaker 1: don't care about the amount of misinformation. What they care
- 9:46Speaker 1: about is ei their story and getting clicks and making
- 9:51Speaker 1: advertising money and brewing up hate to throw at the witches.
- 9:55Speaker 2: And I mean even as humans, we you know, we
- 10:00Speaker 2: search for answers and we don't know them. Like I
- 10:02Speaker 2: remember when I even had like my tumor stuff, and
- 10:05Speaker 2: I mean I still do, but I was my words
- 10:09Speaker 2: would be very slow, and they still are because I'm
- 10:12Speaker 2: trying to like come for the next word. And everyone
- 10:14Speaker 2: was like she's slurring, maybe she's drinking, Like I remember
- 10:17Speaker 2: seeing comments on the.
- 10:18Speaker 3: Pod like is she drunk?
- 10:20Speaker 2: And I'm like, I have so many I didn't know
- 10:23Speaker 2: this at the time, and I didn't even know it
- 10:25Speaker 2: what was going on with me. So I do see
- 10:28Speaker 2: a different side than I probably would have saw three
- 10:31Speaker 2: years ago. If we had this conversation because I remember
- 10:35Speaker 2: fighting it and being like so annoyed when I would
- 10:37Speaker 2: see comments and I'd be like, I can't help that
- 10:39Speaker 2: I'm talking slow, or that I'm getting lost or slurring
- 10:43Speaker 2: or slurring or whatever it may be.
- 10:45Speaker 1: It's I mean, I'm so sorry that you've I mean,
- 10:48Speaker 1: am I My heart aches for all of you, know,
- 10:53Speaker 1: the painful journey that you had, and I'm in absolutely
- 10:56Speaker 1: awe and inspiration by like how much you're fighting. And
- 11:00Speaker 1: I love as well that you tell people your boundaries.
- 11:04Speaker 1: You know, you're like, I don't like hearing this and
- 11:08Speaker 1: this and that for me is what I find to
- 11:11Speaker 1: be inspiring for myself because sometimes people think that they
- 11:14Speaker 1: can be supportive, but their support is actually feeling negative.
- 11:19Speaker 1: And so you know, you being able to draw that
- 11:21Speaker 1: boundary and being able to focus towards where your mind
- 11:25Speaker 1: needs to be because you are gonna you are going
- 11:28Speaker 1: to beat this. I know that, I that I look
- 11:31Speaker 1: at you at every single post, I'm looking at you
- 11:34Speaker 1: and I watch every single moment of them, and I
- 11:38Speaker 1: know you want to know why. I know because you're tough,
- 11:41Speaker 1: because you've been through a lot of shit. You have
- 11:43Speaker 1: all the tools, and you're so strong, and also because
- 11:47Speaker 1: I know other people have beat it too, this is
- 11:50Speaker 1: not you would be the first, but there you have
- 11:52Speaker 1: such a bright life ahead of you, and so no,
- 11:55Speaker 1: I mean, I'm so inspired by that fire that you
- 11:59Speaker 1: have inside of you because I just I know that
- 12:02Speaker 1: you're you're gonna, You're.
- 12:03Speaker 3: Gonna do it.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 12:04Speaker 2: And I think we all share that same fire, which
- 12:06Speaker 2: is why we can get ourselves into some trouble, but
- 12:09Speaker 2: also why we can really fight for the pot. You know,
- 12:12Speaker 2: we can fight for ourselves, and I think that's that's
- 12:15Speaker 2: pretty great. You recently had a viral moment with Alec
- 12:30Speaker 2: on the right.
- 12:31Speaker 4: I was just gonna bring that up because you have
- 12:33Speaker 4: boundaries too.
- 12:35Speaker 1: Well, that's like another one like this is all about
- 12:37Speaker 1: women and their voice, your voice, my voice, how it sounds,
- 12:40Speaker 1: and then interrupts the voice, right. So I actually didn't Alec,
- 12:46Speaker 1: and I didn't remember that that even happens because we
- 12:48Speaker 1: just banned for all the time. And by the way,
- 12:50Speaker 1: everybody who wrote that whole thing knows how we'd answer
- 12:53Speaker 1: because we've had a whole show and we've been like
- 12:56Speaker 1: you know, doing a million video. So that was like
- 12:58Speaker 1: a not nice trick that you guys all did want you,
- 13:00Speaker 1: but I'm calling you all out right now then you guys.
- 13:05Speaker 1: So I actually was on spring break visiting my family
- 13:08Speaker 1: in Spain where they where they live, and we uh likes,
- 13:14Speaker 1: the whole world's mad at you right now, and I
- 13:17Speaker 1: was like, what did I do now?
- 13:19Speaker 4: What's next?
- 13:20Speaker 1: What did I do now? And he thinks it's the
- 13:23Speaker 1: funniest thing in the world because everybody always that calls
- 13:26Speaker 1: him like the mean one. He's like, yes, now I'm offended.
- 13:31Speaker 1: I didn't remember this, but yes, I'm off right now.
- 13:36Speaker 1: But I mean, you know, you can look at it
- 13:37Speaker 1: on like a silly level. It actually it made me
- 13:39Speaker 1: laugh more than anything. And I don't think I realized
- 13:41Speaker 1: how like viral it was because I just didn't pay
- 13:44Speaker 1: attention to it because I was, you know, with my family.
- 13:48Speaker 1: But but then't even have like a darker thing of
- 13:51Speaker 1: being like he interrupted me, and by the way, this
- 13:55Speaker 1: is a clip. He had interrupted me multiple times, like
- 13:59Speaker 1: multiple times over this, and I was like, and he
- 14:02Speaker 1: knows that I have ADHD. He knows I get stuck
- 14:06Speaker 1: in forgetful and all this kind of stuff, and so
- 14:08Speaker 1: he's kind of like messing with me a little bit
- 14:10Speaker 1: as well, and I'm just like, you know what, when
- 14:12Speaker 1: I'm talking, you're not talking. But we also do that
- 14:14Speaker 1: in our house as well. We say like, when I'm
- 14:16Speaker 1: walking here, you're not walking. And when I'm doing this,
- 14:18Speaker 1: you're not doing When I'm thinking, you are not.
- 14:21Speaker 3: You're not allowed to think. It's like and also chewing,
- 14:25Speaker 3: no chewing.
- 14:26Speaker 1: Well I am thinking right now. And I feel like
- 14:29Speaker 1: anybody who has ADHD probably like really relates to this moment,
- 14:33Speaker 1: to this kind of thing, just like I'm trying so
- 14:36Speaker 1: hard to do one particular thing and you're like.
- 14:39Speaker 4: So he has O c D and you have ADHD
- 14:43Speaker 4: and the two of you together are just a hot mess.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Yes we're a hot mess, but I feel like that's
- 14:49Speaker 1: what keeps it exciting, right.
- 14:50Speaker 3: Yeah. Who do you think wears the pants in the relationship?
- 14:56Speaker 1: Me?
- 14:57Speaker 3: Yeah, that I thought so true.
- 14:59Speaker 1: I tried for a I can like he could have
- 15:01Speaker 1: one leg and I could have one leg. That it's
- 15:02Speaker 1: totally and he would say that to you, by the way,
- 15:05Speaker 1: But and that was you know, that was like the
- 15:08Speaker 1: other thing as well, is I think when people were
- 15:10Speaker 1: introduced to me, I mean, we're seeing it happen right
- 15:14Speaker 1: now with a particularly young woman dating a particularly older guy,
- 15:18Speaker 1: and people are just tearing apart their age difference, you know.
- 15:22Speaker 1: And I think that people just assume that we're going
- 15:24Speaker 1: to be these young bimbos who don't know what we want.
- 15:28Speaker 1: And by the way, I was young and I didn't
- 15:29Speaker 1: really know what I want, so that was like totally fair.
- 15:31Speaker 1: But I grew and I'm still here. You know, We've
- 15:34Speaker 1: had a lot of kids together, We've made an entire life,
- 15:36Speaker 1: and so I feel like, you know, people just assumed
- 15:40Speaker 1: that he was going to be taking me and I
- 15:43Speaker 1: was going to be like, Okay, whatever you want, whatever
- 15:45Speaker 1: you want, and you know, it took me a minute,
- 15:47Speaker 1: but I found my ground and and we've had to
- 15:49Speaker 1: deal with some tough experiences that involved some big growing
- 15:54Speaker 1: up on both of our parts.
- 15:55Speaker 5: Yeah, speaking of tough experiences, Alex, movies coming out, how
- 16:00Speaker 5: has that affected you?
- 16:01Speaker 4: I know that you talk a lot about it in
- 16:03Speaker 4: your your show.
- 16:07Speaker 5: I mean you had talked about the struggles I've seen
- 16:09Speaker 5: you guys gotten to therapy together.
- 16:11Speaker 4: And how are you guys feeling today about the.
- 16:15Speaker 1: Movie coming out? Yeah? I mean I think people went back,
- 16:22Speaker 1: Alec went back. I should I can only speak from
- 16:25Speaker 1: my experience with my my family. Alec went back to
- 16:30Speaker 1: make this movie to finish Selena's work. Yeah, and it
- 16:36Speaker 1: was a really hard thing that he went back and did.
- 16:40Speaker 1: And I talk about it in my book that he
- 16:43Speaker 1: almost died right before that, and I kept that quiet.
- 16:47Speaker 3: He got cot.
- 16:49Speaker 1: Yeah, so he was, you know, with the with the
- 16:54Speaker 1: pressure and the stress and everything that was happening on
- 17:02Speaker 1: top of how just awful this tragedy was, and is
- 17:10Speaker 1: he just started turning off, stopped eating, the stress, the
- 17:15Speaker 1: he just he I brought him to the hospital multiple
- 17:18Speaker 1: times and then he started really declining. I brought him
- 17:23Speaker 1: to the hospital and he passed out on me on
- 17:27Speaker 1: Fifth Avenue, one hundredth Street, one hundred and first Street,
- 17:30Speaker 1: writing right in front of Mount Sign and I were
- 17:32Speaker 1: in front of the hospital and he was in the
- 17:36Speaker 1: hospital for I don't know, I think like a week.
- 17:40Speaker 1: It was during my kids' spring break that time, and
- 17:43Speaker 1: I would I was nursing our baby who wasn't one yet,
- 17:48Speaker 1: and I would be going up and down from the
- 17:51Speaker 1: hospital taking care of him, and going down taking care
- 17:53Speaker 1: of the kids and pumping and bringing my pump everywhere
- 17:58Speaker 1: with me. And when I brought him out of a hospital.
- 18:01Speaker 1: I actually put a he was walking with a walker
- 18:03Speaker 1: because he couldn't he couldn't walk, and I put a
- 18:07Speaker 1: boot on his leg and to pretend that he had
- 18:11Speaker 1: hurt his leg because I didn't want people to say
- 18:15Speaker 1: that he was he was. That was one thing I
- 18:18Speaker 1: couldn't do, Like the whole fake thing. It's just so stupid,
- 18:21Speaker 1: you know. I just I can't handle when people question
- 18:26Speaker 1: what's real, because that's just lighting, you know, And so
- 18:30Speaker 1: I we just pretended that it was something else. You know.
- 18:34Speaker 1: Alec is somebody who cares tremendously, and one of the
- 18:38Speaker 1: hard things for people who care a lot is they
- 18:41Speaker 1: feel everything.
- 18:43Speaker 3: Yeah, well he had you.
- 18:45Speaker 5: I think you guys talked about it on your show
- 18:47Speaker 5: that he even considered just getting out of the industry completely.
- 18:52Speaker 1: Yeah. I think he always is considering that because there's
- 18:58Speaker 1: so much. Again, it goes back to the negativity can
- 19:03Speaker 1: be so loud mm hmmm, and if you let that
- 19:07Speaker 1: cloud the fact that there's so much right positivity, then
- 19:14Speaker 1: it it can make it can feel all consuming. Yeah,
- 19:19Speaker 1: And so my hope with him, regardless of what he
- 19:22Speaker 1: decides to do, you know, he loves to act and
- 19:26Speaker 1: be doing the only thing he really knows how to
- 19:29Speaker 1: do because he's done this his whole life, and it's
- 19:32Speaker 1: he's so good at it, you know, he knows he
- 19:34Speaker 1: loves it so much. But I think that you know,
- 19:37Speaker 1: when his when he's hurting, he just doesn't know what
- 19:41Speaker 1: to do.
- 19:54Speaker 3: What's your favorite movie that he's done? And like, did
- 19:57Speaker 3: you do you watch them all? Or are you like
- 19:59Speaker 3: I can't do it, so.
- 20:01Speaker 1: I don't really watch anything, which is like not a
- 20:05Speaker 1: povolar thing to say that's true. I was raised by
- 20:10Speaker 1: hippies and we did not watch TV, and I've gotten
- 20:14Speaker 1: into like like I'll watch it a little bit, like
- 20:17Speaker 1: you know, Definitely, my first trimester of being pregnant, I
- 20:20Speaker 1: had like tremendous focus of being able to watch things.
- 20:22Speaker 1: I don't know what's happening. But most of the time
- 20:24Speaker 1: I'm either like so tired because I have seven children
- 20:27Speaker 1: and I'm so tired. But I have seen Boss. Maybe
- 20:38Speaker 1: that's whold I saw. It's complicated. He didn't want me
- 20:43Speaker 1: to see it when we first started dating and I
- 20:46Speaker 1: went to go visit my parents in Spain and I
- 20:50Speaker 1: sent him a picture of that I was going to
- 20:51Speaker 1: watch it there, and I was like other Country Rule.
- 20:53Speaker 1: So I did watch that, and I love Meryl, but
- 20:57Speaker 1: I saw a Hunt for Red October a great one,
- 21:00Speaker 1: some thirty rock.
- 21:02Speaker 4: But now he's so talented, very talented.
- 21:05Speaker 1: Yeah, And I just love that he's he's just so
- 21:08Speaker 1: good at like he's just he lights up and he
- 21:11Speaker 1: gets excited about like learning to be something completely different,
- 21:16Speaker 1: and I just I just love watching that.
- 21:19Speaker 2: And you guys, how did you decide, especially because he's
- 21:23Speaker 2: such a big actor, how did you decide to finally
- 21:25Speaker 2: do reality television? And then how did you decide what
- 21:28Speaker 2: you were going to show and what you were going
- 21:30Speaker 2: to keep private and you know, especially when there's criticism
- 21:34Speaker 2: to come.
- 21:34Speaker 1: We decided to do the reality show. I've said this
- 21:39Speaker 1: before in different places, but I didn't really think it through.
- 21:42Speaker 1: And I think he thought it through very well, which
- 21:45Speaker 1: I'm really grateful for because I think if I thought
- 21:47Speaker 1: about it, I would have decided it was a really
- 21:49Speaker 1: really bad idea to start filming a show two weeks
- 21:54Speaker 1: before Alec was going to try it. I potentially go
- 21:57Speaker 1: away from it.
- 21:58Speaker 4: Was I didn't realize it was that, Yes, people.
- 22:02Speaker 1: Think that we're like so calculated and stuff like that,
- 22:04Speaker 1: who like live in this world, but like either's like
- 22:07Speaker 1: I don't have the energy to be able to do that.
- 22:09Speaker 1: So yeah, I didn't even really think about it until
- 22:11Speaker 1: it started approaching that we were going to like break
- 22:16Speaker 1: for about three weeks was the plan. But the trial
- 22:19Speaker 1: actually you know, was over and one and and I
- 22:23Speaker 1: was like, what are we going to, like do we
- 22:25Speaker 1: see the crew again, do we finish doing this or
- 22:28Speaker 1: is it just going to be done? And Everybody's like,
- 22:30Speaker 1: I don't, I don't know. So it was I'm really
- 22:34Speaker 1: glad that we did it because it was so cathartic
- 22:37Speaker 1: to be able to speak and show when we were
- 22:40Speaker 1: not supposed to speak and show. And it felt a
- 22:44Speaker 1: little bit of a diary in terms of what we
- 22:48Speaker 1: what was on limits and off limits. I mean, I
- 22:52Speaker 1: feel like the purpose of doing this was just show
- 22:55Speaker 1: everything and be really authentic. Now that's not like you're
- 22:58Speaker 1: you know, seeing us wake up in the morning up
- 23:00Speaker 1: like that. You know. It wasn't like a whatever those
- 23:02Speaker 1: shows word where there's a con camera on you. But
- 23:05Speaker 1: you know, we wanted to hit all of the things
- 23:07Speaker 1: that felt important for us to to talk about. And
- 23:15Speaker 1: but the the producer, the producers and the show runner
- 23:20Speaker 1: Sarah ready. She sat with me the first day and
- 23:23Speaker 1: she said, the most important word for this is consent.
- 23:27Speaker 1: This is not the word that I would have expected
- 23:29Speaker 1: anyone in this business to say. Okay, And she said,
- 23:33Speaker 1: I'm going to ask the kids every single time if
- 23:37Speaker 1: I can film or not, and if they say no,
- 23:40Speaker 1: we don't film, or even if you feel if I
- 23:43Speaker 1: feel like it's a no and they don't know how
- 23:45Speaker 1: to verbalize that, if I feel like their energy isn't
- 23:48Speaker 1: accepting and wanting to do this. And I really appreciated
- 23:52Speaker 1: that because her concept that she taught me is when
- 23:56Speaker 1: you go you try to take things from people, you
- 23:58Speaker 1: put them into fight or flight, and you're not getting
- 24:00Speaker 1: the real thing. And when you put people at ease
- 24:03Speaker 1: where they want to share and they give, and we're givers,
- 24:07Speaker 1: be signed up for this, we wanted to give and
- 24:09Speaker 1: show our life, then you actually get the real truths,
- 24:14Speaker 1: the authenticity.
- 24:15Speaker 2: Well, I have a question, then if Real Housewives of
- 24:18Speaker 2: New York came calling, would you do it?
- 24:22Speaker 3: Because then you don't have the control.
- 24:24Speaker 4: Then the controls, Oh, you have zero control, zero control.
- 24:27Speaker 1: That's that's what I've heard. I think I've had enough
- 24:32Speaker 1: fair share of people misinterpreting me and using me as
- 24:39Speaker 1: like alf a house I've had enough of that for
- 24:42Speaker 1: a lifetime. And so as much as I absolutely adore
- 24:48Speaker 1: every single real housewife that I've met, and we've had
- 24:52Speaker 1: some wild nights at some like really fun bars and
- 24:55Speaker 1: stuff like that, so I like love them, I just
- 24:59Speaker 1: think that I've had my fill for that kind of
- 25:04Speaker 1: you know, pure pure for entertainment. I mean that stuff
- 25:07Speaker 1: again that's been out about me. It's been for a
- 25:10Speaker 1: lot of people's entertainment, which is kind of sick. Yeah,
- 25:13Speaker 1: you know, and so I just think, you know, and
- 25:15Speaker 1: that's that's what I wanted to do in the show.
- 25:17Speaker 1: And you know what I've done in this book is
- 25:19Speaker 1: I was a kid. I met Alex I just turned
- 25:21Speaker 1: twenty seven years old. Wow, And I had no experience
- 25:26Speaker 1: whatsoever with this kind of world. And I was teaching
- 25:30Speaker 1: yoga all the time, and I was like, Eh, pretty
- 25:32Speaker 1: is friendly and let's like breathe and like say no,
- 25:34Speaker 1: I'm gonna say, like this is going to be great.
- 25:36Speaker 1: And I just assumed that the world was like that,
- 25:38Speaker 1: and it wasn't. Some of the world is some of
- 25:40Speaker 1: the world is not. And so I have been you know,
- 25:44Speaker 1: people have been talking about me and for me for
- 25:46Speaker 1: the past fourteen years, and this is an opportunity right now.
- 25:51Speaker 1: I'm in my forties now, I have seven children. You know,
- 25:54Speaker 1: I've been through the experiences that I've been through, and
- 25:57Speaker 1: you know, are people going to stop talking? No, they're
- 25:59Speaker 1: doing a right now about the book, you know what
- 26:01Speaker 1: I mean. But at the same time, I have an
- 26:04Speaker 1: opportunity to put my words out there. And I always
- 26:08Speaker 1: believe that you should listen to the person. When I
- 26:11Speaker 1: started dating out, like people would send me articles and
- 26:13Speaker 1: stuff like that, I was like, I don't want to
- 26:14Speaker 1: read anything. I want you to know who he is
- 26:18Speaker 1: from him. And I don't even know where I came
- 26:21Speaker 1: up with that idea, but it was one of the
- 26:22Speaker 1: best ideas I've ever had because I got to know
- 26:24Speaker 1: him from him and so, you know, I mean that's that.
- 26:29Speaker 1: You know, I have a tremendous amount of respect for
- 26:32Speaker 1: that show. I just feel like, not for you.
- 26:35Speaker 4: And would you do another season? Would you do another
- 26:38Speaker 4: season of your reality show?
- 26:40Speaker 1: We might do another season. We're sort of we're thinking
- 26:43Speaker 1: it through. We might do another season. I'm very proud
- 26:45Speaker 1: of the season that we've done and I really I
- 26:48Speaker 1: can't think of a better better partners to do it with.
- 26:53Speaker 4: How did your How did your kids like it?
- 27:00Speaker 1: They liked it. They call it their movie. It's really funny.
- 27:02Speaker 1: I'm like, we're like, yeah, did people see our movie?
- 27:07Speaker 1: I am You know Rafayel, who's my oldest son, so
- 27:11Speaker 1: he's my second child. He was one of them where
- 27:15Speaker 1: he never said he didn't want to be in the
- 27:18Speaker 1: filming of it, but you could tell from his energy
- 27:20Speaker 1: that he was kind of retreating during generary of filming,
- 27:24Speaker 1: and so everybody was very respectful of that, as as
- 27:28Speaker 1: was the you know, intention of his project. And he said,
- 27:33Speaker 1: now he watched them and he's like, where am I
- 27:36Speaker 1: in all of this? Why is.
- 27:38Speaker 3: Next season?
- 27:39Speaker 4: He's you're not going to get the star. I was like,
- 27:42Speaker 4: he'll be in front of the camera like here I am, exactly.
- 27:45Speaker 1: But that's where he was at the time, and that's okay.
- 27:48Speaker 5: Yeah, but some kids, like my kids, some of them really,
- 27:50Speaker 5: you know, my daughter really likes it, but my other
- 27:52Speaker 5: kids are like, yeah, not for me.
- 27:55Speaker 4: And I'm like, cool, you don't have to be in it.
- 27:58Speaker 2: It's not for everybody, and it's not Yeah, it's not
- 28:01Speaker 2: for everybody. He sends him like Prime or something like.
- 28:04Speaker 2: He doesn't ever want to be on camera about anything,
- 28:06Speaker 2: but if somebody sends Prime to the house, which I
- 28:08Speaker 2: normally wouldn't purchase on my own.
- 28:10Speaker 3: He's so obsessed with those brothers. He's like, Mom, film
- 28:13Speaker 3: me opening the box. I need to do an unboxed influencer.
- 28:17Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, I don't even really known energy.
- 28:23Speaker 2: Well there's a version that's not energy, it's a hydration.
- 28:27Speaker 2: So that's the one they always send us. So he
- 28:29Speaker 2: has he's justifications on why he needs to have it.
- 28:32Speaker 2: He's like, Mom, you know the new pubsicle Prime is great.
- 28:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 28:39Speaker 2: But so before we get into just final stuff about
- 28:42Speaker 2: your book, we have one silly question that the fans
- 28:45Speaker 2: wanted to know.
- 28:46Speaker 3: You're not gonna hate us. It's it's light.
- 28:49Speaker 2: If you didn't know Alec and you had to pick
- 28:52Speaker 2: between the brothers or to be Billy, Stephen or Daniel
- 28:59Speaker 2: h we do normally we do what we do, a
- 29:02Speaker 2: pick every time, and the people Tam was picked.
- 29:06Speaker 4: Sometimes, Hey, now.
- 29:09Speaker 1: Can we do like different brothers? Like there's another brother
- 29:12Speaker 1: like what are like brothers? Like the hemsworks right.
- 29:16Speaker 4: Right them where they both win?
- 29:18Speaker 3: I know, right, Okay, fine. The Jonas brothers, well, we'll
- 29:24Speaker 3: do that.
- 29:25Speaker 1: The Jonas brothers, they're all really nice. I don't really remember.
- 29:29Speaker 3: She was like, I don't know their names.
- 29:30Speaker 4: She's like, I don't even know the names. Literally, all
- 29:33Speaker 4: I know is Joe, Right, there's a Jo.
- 29:37Speaker 3: Yes, there's a nick Jonas. Yeah, Kevin, guys Kevin.
- 29:45Speaker 4: Why does Kevin always get forgotten?
- 29:48Speaker 1: Forgot?
- 29:48Speaker 4: I don't even know who Kevin is.
- 29:50Speaker 3: Oh, Ken, I have the best bald You have the best.
- 29:56Speaker 4: That's a good answer.
- 29:57Speaker 1: I have the best Baldwin. And I feel like, yeah,
- 30:01Speaker 1: I just I love my brothers in law and I
- 30:05Speaker 1: really just loves in law with their spouses.
- 30:10Speaker 4: Correct.
- 30:11Speaker 3: We were considering there was like it was what do
- 30:13Speaker 3: you call Alec? Does see you have a nickname.
- 30:17Speaker 1: Alex?
- 30:21Speaker 4: You know, what do you call him when you're mad
- 30:23Speaker 4: at him?
- 30:23Speaker 1: When you know when I'm mad? That was it? Anything
- 30:26Speaker 1: about the hold on not talking and talking if I'm
- 30:28Speaker 1: actually mad at him, I don't talk with him.
- 30:30Speaker 4: Oh, you're like, damn, Ron, that's me. I'm like that too, like,
- 30:34Speaker 4: don't talk to him.
- 30:35Speaker 1: I'm like, it's better, I'm not going to talk with you.
- 30:36Speaker 1: And when I'm going to use my kind words, I'll
- 30:38Speaker 1: speak again.
- 30:39Speaker 4: I just don't trust what's going to come out of
- 30:41Speaker 4: my mouth. So it just like I'm not saying the feelings.
- 30:44Speaker 3: When you guys. Don't like when people don't talk to me.
- 30:46Speaker 4: I want to clear enough, don't kiss us off.
- 30:48Speaker 1: When's your birthday?
- 30:50Speaker 4: Mine? September? Second?
- 30:51Speaker 1: Yeah, September and your July. I knew you. You're you're
- 30:55Speaker 1: a cancer, aren't you? Yes?
- 30:57Speaker 3: How do you know?
- 30:58Speaker 1: Because I can tell I'm a Capricorn. Caps and cancers
- 31:02Speaker 1: we are. Yeah, Capracorn just get like quietly done and
- 31:07Speaker 1: cancers are that like, just want to make it right again?
- 31:10Speaker 1: Let me make it right.
- 31:11Speaker 2: Yes, I can deal with about five minutes of silence,
- 31:14Speaker 2: but like when then it gives me the cold shoulder,
- 31:17Speaker 2: I'm like, uhh no, no, well now I know what.
- 31:19Speaker 4: Drives you crazy, so I don't do it anymore.
- 31:21Speaker 3: One day, she deleted herself from a group chat, and
- 31:25Speaker 3: I was like, no, I can't get them out.
- 31:31Speaker 1: But that is just us taking care of everybody, right,
- 31:36Speaker 1: We're just like taking care of And you're a virgo rising, Yeah,
- 31:41Speaker 1: that's like a love. I have four children that are virgos.
- 31:46Speaker 3: What you believe?
- 31:47Speaker 4: Oh yay, I love that you're in for it. Did
- 31:50Speaker 4: you ever think you're going to have seven children?
- 31:52Speaker 1: Oh? I didn't even know if I wanted one. I
- 31:54Speaker 1: really wanted to have kids right away. That was one
- 31:57Speaker 1: thing when we like met, He really wanted to have kids.
- 32:00Speaker 1: And it wasn't even something I was like in New
- 32:02Speaker 1: York and on twelenty seven and like that's like not
- 32:05Speaker 1: very young other places, but in New York it's very
- 32:07Speaker 1: very and I wasn't even like it wasn't even on
- 32:09Speaker 1: my radar. And he very much wanted to start a
- 32:12Speaker 1: family right away. And I actually after we got married,
- 32:16Speaker 1: I got a little bit of could feet and I
- 32:18Speaker 1: was like, yeah, maybe we should wait a little bit.
- 32:20Speaker 1: Then I found out I was pregnant, So yeah, that's
- 32:23Speaker 1: that happened. And then I found out I was pregnant
- 32:24Speaker 1: again and again and again and again. Then the whole
- 32:27Speaker 1: like breastfeeding getting pregnant thing totally can happen. It's not
- 32:31Speaker 1: true that that can't happen.
- 32:33Speaker 3: I meant, do you want more?
- 32:35Speaker 1: Alex would have more? If I said I wanted more?
- 32:38Speaker 3: Alex, girl, are you saying now?
- 32:40Speaker 5: You snapped back better faster than anybody I've ever seen
- 32:43Speaker 5: in my life.
- 32:44Speaker 4: Your body is rocking, and I know that you're you know,
- 32:46Speaker 4: yoga is.
- 32:47Speaker 3: A big part of it.
- 32:47Speaker 4: But any tips or advice should give women like you
- 32:50Speaker 4: just right back.
- 32:53Speaker 1: I mean, I think I stayed active while I was pregnant,
- 32:58Speaker 1: and I think a lot of that is driven by that.
- 33:02Speaker 1: I have a lot of energy because of my ADHD
- 33:05Speaker 1: and so I've always been just a very moving, moving,
- 33:08Speaker 1: moving person. If I don't move every day, my brain
- 33:11Speaker 1: is a little foggy, and I forget and I forget
- 33:15Speaker 1: more things. So were you okay? So there you go.
- 33:19Speaker 5: You did you gain much weight when you're pregnant? Are
- 33:22Speaker 5: you like, oh, eighteen pounds? Twenty pounds?
- 33:25Speaker 1: I didn't know I gained more than eighteen pounds. I was,
- 33:28Speaker 1: you know, it's within the normal range range that I
- 33:31Speaker 1: that I gained.
- 33:32Speaker 3: And I think.
- 33:34Speaker 1: Breastfeeding helped me to shed the the baby weight a lot,
- 33:40Speaker 1: but it's you know, I think that it was just
- 33:44Speaker 1: staying active and you know, and I think just I've
- 33:49Speaker 1: been acting my whole life, so my bodies used to
- 33:52Speaker 1: a certain place lives.
- 33:55Speaker 3: Does your favorite child rotate by day?
- 33:58Speaker 1: You know? I always would wonder like, if you have
- 34:01Speaker 1: a big family, do you have a favorite kid. I
- 34:02Speaker 1: don't have a favorite kid.
- 34:04Speaker 4: I think that I'm not.
- 34:05Speaker 1: Sure, but I feel like the Baldwins may have grown
- 34:07Speaker 1: up with like there's like favoritism and timing and sort
- 34:10Speaker 1: of like and I think that there may have been that,
- 34:12Speaker 1: mostly because they each claim to be the favorite child.
- 34:14Speaker 2: Well, my kids claim they they think they all know
- 34:18Speaker 2: who the favorite is and they all say it's the one.
- 34:20Speaker 2: But I'm like, I don't have a favorite and they're like, yes,
- 34:22Speaker 2: that you do it, and it's blah, and I'm like, shoot,
- 34:25Speaker 2: and then I think about it, right, I mean.
- 34:28Speaker 1: I don't know. One of the things I loved about
- 34:31Speaker 1: having and I love about having had so many kids
- 34:34Speaker 1: is that they're all different, right because you have you
- 34:37Speaker 1: have four kids.
- 34:39Speaker 3: Have four kids and Tam, how many jillions we do?
- 34:42Speaker 3: Fo or we have four and four, four.
- 34:45Speaker 1: And four and that's a lot of kids. Yes, I
- 34:49Speaker 1: feel like each one comes out totally different, absolutely, and
- 34:53Speaker 1: that's been an amazing thing. And the way that I
- 34:55Speaker 1: liked his parent is I like them to stand back
- 34:58Speaker 1: a little bit and let them figure it themselves out
- 35:01Speaker 1: and let them become who they really are, like just
- 35:04Speaker 1: let that come out of them and of course you
- 35:06Speaker 1: got to go to bed your vegetables. There's rules, But
- 35:10Speaker 1: I really do think that that's been one of the
- 35:13Speaker 1: real joys. And so it's kind when thinking about like
- 35:15Speaker 1: a favorite, I'm like, how can they're all just different
- 35:18Speaker 1: apples and oranges and bears and bananas, like it's everything
- 35:21Speaker 1: you know?
- 35:22Speaker 2: Yeah, And before we close out, is there anything else
- 35:25Speaker 2: you want to tell us about your book?
- 35:27Speaker 3: How people can get it? Any key details?
- 35:31Speaker 1: The book is out today and we are it's so funny.
- 35:37Speaker 1: I mean, I don't if you guys have written books,
- 35:40Speaker 1: you've written.
- 35:40Speaker 3: A book, right, I have not written a book. How
- 35:42Speaker 3: long did it take you?
- 35:43Speaker 1: You should write a book? Tim or have you written
- 35:46Speaker 1: a book? No?
- 35:47Speaker 4: Ask many times, but just has It's hard. This is
- 35:50Speaker 4: my time.
- 35:51Speaker 1: It's time consuming. This is my second book, and the
- 35:54Speaker 1: other one came together quite quickly, living clearly method that
- 35:57Speaker 1: I wrote many years ago. This I signed my book
- 36:04Speaker 1: deal during that very dark period of our lives, and
- 36:09Speaker 1: I again didn't really think it through. I was just
- 36:15Speaker 1: sort of on autopilot saying yes. And there were times
- 36:20Speaker 1: when I really regretted that I signed up to write
- 36:22Speaker 1: this book, because sometimes you just don't have the works,
- 36:26Speaker 1: and I I got I was not pregnant when I
- 36:30Speaker 1: started the book. I got pregnant. I had a baby.
- 36:33Speaker 1: This is a three year process of right, Yeah, it
- 36:36Speaker 1: took much longer. The other one was done in like
- 36:38Speaker 1: six months. This one was was along a long process.
- 36:43Speaker 1: And but as soon as the trial was over in July,
- 36:47Speaker 1: I went back home and I wrote it during filming
- 36:51Speaker 1: the rest of the show, and I would just write
- 36:53Speaker 1: like it all of a sudden it started flowing, and
- 36:57Speaker 1: I would take all the different bits and pieces and
- 37:00Speaker 1: and hundreds of peages that I had written that just
- 37:02Speaker 1: didn't feel right, and I would, you know, all of
- 37:04Speaker 1: a sudden it just like got hold in and.
- 37:06Speaker 3: I just I just typed, so, well, congratulations, that is amazing.
- 37:12Speaker 4: And can you give us the name?
- 37:14Speaker 1: It's called Manuel, not included because there's no Manuel.
- 37:17Speaker 4: Are you doing a book tour where you're signing books?
- 37:20Speaker 1: I am signing. I'm doing I'm doing some of it.
