- 0:00Speaker 1: Oklahoma boomer sooner.
- 0:03Speaker 2: They find a way and do it in the, we
- 0:06Speaker 2: talk about this being the weirdest rivalry game, whether you
- 0:09Speaker 2: think it's the best or not. Obviously that's very subjective.
- 0:12Speaker 2: What is not subjective is how weird this rivalry game gets.
- 0:16Speaker 2: And it certainly was yesterday. Red river did not disappoint
- 0:22Speaker 2: at all. You could, there were several games you could
- 0:25Speaker 2: say with the game of the day from, you know,
- 0:27Speaker 2: the one we just talked about with Georgia Bama, the,
- 0:29Speaker 2: Red River shootout, the Indiana-Nebraska game was really good, Kentucky-LSU,
- 0:34Speaker 2: but this was one of the games of the day
- 0:36Speaker 2: and one of the more fun games that we saw.
- 0:39Speaker 1: We are presented by PrizePix. Cole, take it away.
- 0:44Speaker 3: What did I tell you about going into this game?
- 0:46Speaker 3: Don't bet.
- 0:47Speaker 4: All it does is it hurts your wallet or it
- 0:49Speaker 4: takes years off of your life because it's Red River.
- 0:53Speaker 4: Weird things happen in the Cotton Bowl, regardless of who
- 0:56Speaker 4: is playing and regardless of what the two records are.
- 0:59Speaker 3: The other thing is, and I'm very shocked that we
- 1:01Speaker 3: have not said this up to this point of the season.
- 1:03Speaker 3: So credit where credit's due. You waited for the moment
- 1:06Speaker 3: to arrive.
- 1:07Speaker 4: TJ, I don't know if you know about a little
- 1:09Speaker 4: thing down in Norman, Oklahoma called Sooner Magic.
- 1:14Speaker 3: Sooner Magic made its appearance last day. Sooner Magic made
- 1:17Speaker 3: its appearance in so many ways yesterday.
- 1:20Speaker 4: What did we say was the keys for Oklahoma to
- 1:22Speaker 4: win this football game? Number one, short field position. Number two,
- 1:26Speaker 4: Timely turnovers. Number three, special teams stepping on up. What
- 1:30Speaker 4: happened on.
- 1:31Speaker 3: All three scoring drives?
- 1:33Speaker 4: You had a blocked punt in the back of the
- 1:35Speaker 4: end zone that stayed inbounds long enough for you to
- 1:39Speaker 4: be able to get a recovery. So instead of safety,
- 1:41Speaker 4: it ended up being a touchdown. You have the Peyton
- 1:44Speaker 4: Bowen pick six that gave you the opportunity to be
- 1:47Speaker 4: able to take the lead.
- 1:49Speaker 3: And you also had that big.
- 1:51Speaker 4: Time interception that was at short enough field position for
- 1:54Speaker 4: John Mateer to be able to make two exceptional throws
- 1:57Speaker 4: to Isaiah Satanga.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Back shoulder perfection.
- 2:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:00Speaker 4: To set up a Lou Groza award winning kicker in
- 2:04Speaker 4: Tate Sandell to walk this thing off and to win
- 2:07Speaker 4: the golden cowboy hat.
- 2:08Speaker 2: I'll get right back to this clip of the power
- 2:10Speaker 2: to on college football addiction, but first some love to
- 2:14Speaker 2: price picks all new users.
- 2:15Speaker 1: They're get $ 150 instantly.
- 2:17Speaker 2: When they win their first $ 5 lineup using code H
- 2:19Speaker 2: M a appreciate price picks for their support. Give me
- 2:23Speaker 2: the more on Derek Henry's anytime touchdowns at 0.5. Give
- 2:27Speaker 2: me the less on Deshaun Watson and give me the
- 2:30Speaker 2: more on Kirk cousins. As far as a passing total
- 2:32Speaker 2: of two 32.5, Cole and I picked all of the
- 2:36Speaker 2: picks that you see on the screen. And we threw
- 2:37Speaker 2: in a jam and twist and pick as well. So
- 2:39Speaker 2: if you want to see that, you can go over
- 2:41Speaker 2: to the live show on college football addiction that we
- 2:42Speaker 2: just finished up this morning and And you can check
- 2:45Speaker 2: that out. Appreciate PrizePix for their support.
- 2:48Speaker 4: I mean, everything that we needed to see happen for
- 2:51Speaker 4: Oklahoma to win this game, it happened. And the crazy
- 2:54Speaker 4: part is Texas beat them in nearly every category. Texas
- 2:58Speaker 4: had more first downs. Texas was better on third down,
- 3:01Speaker 4: which isn't great because Oklahoma was 2 of 13.
- 3:03Speaker 3: They were 3 of 14. They outgained them 382 to 238.
- 3:04Speaker 3: They outrushed them 122 to 83. They had the time
- 3:07Speaker 3: of possession battle. Texas had more penalties. And Oklahoma walks
- 3:19Speaker 3: away with the win.
- 3:20Speaker 4: I got to give credit where credit's due to John
- 3:22Speaker 4: Mateer for one thing. John Mateer was not good in
- 3:24Speaker 4: this game for a majority of the afternoon. But in
- 3:28Speaker 4: a clutch moment, you needed your quarterback to deliver on
- 3:31Speaker 4: both sides. Arch needed to make sure that he could
- 3:34Speaker 4: get in the field goal range for his kicker to
- 3:36Speaker 4: be able to walk this thing on off and avoid
- 3:38Speaker 4: throwing a turnover.
- 3:40Speaker 3: And the same thing could be said.
- 3:42Speaker 4: For John Mateer After needing to get a turnover. After
- 3:45Speaker 4: Arch Manning threw the turnover. Two elite throws. That we
- 3:49Speaker 4: have been waiting to see all year from the quarterback.
- 3:52Speaker 4: To Isaiah Satanga to set up a game winning field goal.
- 3:54Speaker 3: At the end of the day. We can talk about
- 3:56Speaker 3: how people will still.
- 3:57Speaker 4: Nitpick on the faults of what you have with Oklahoma's offense.
- 4:01Speaker 3: And how it is a dumpster fire.
- 4:03Speaker 4: And nobody can get things on open. And they still
- 4:05Speaker 4: really couldn't run the football efficiently. And that the wide
- 4:08Speaker 4: receiver play was mediocre outside of Satanga.
- 4:10Speaker 3: As it has been. But.
- 4:13Speaker 4: You can, nobody will forget what John Mateer did in
- 4:15Speaker 4: this matchup with those two exceptional throws to set up
- 4:17Speaker 4: a game-winning field goal. Very, very, very, just weird, random,
- 4:23Speaker 4: perfect encapsulation of what is Red River was this game.
- 4:28Speaker 4: Literally momentum swing after momentum swing where one team takes
- 4:31Speaker 4: the lead, the other one responds in a corny fashion,
- 4:35Speaker 4: bad blundering mistakes, back and forth blows, and Oklahoma finally
- 4:40Speaker 4: can say they scored a touchdown. In the Red River Shootout.
- 4:43Speaker 4: Since the first time since joining the SEC.
- 4:46Speaker 3: Just a good day for what.
- 4:48Speaker 4: Has been my favorite rivalry in college football. And by
- 4:51Speaker 4: the way, this is my favorite rivalry in college football.
- 4:53Speaker 4: And seeing it live is special. God, I cannot imagine
- 4:57Speaker 4: what it would be like if you were just a
- 4:58Speaker 4: neutral fan there yesterday watching the most epic game unfold
- 5:01Speaker 4: in front of your eyes.
- 5:03Speaker 1: We debated.
- 5:05Speaker 2: On Tuesday, when we previewed this, was it more important
- 5:09Speaker 2: for Oklahoma to get turnovers or not have turnovers?
- 5:13Speaker 1: And guess what? They didn't care. They did both.
- 5:16Speaker 3: Yep.
- 5:16Speaker 2: John Mateer played not great by any means, but mostly efficient.
- 5:23Speaker 1: 18 of 26, 155, no turnovers.
- 5:26Speaker 2: And they got the score sheet will tell you two,
- 5:30Speaker 2: but they got three.
- 5:32Speaker 1: Because the blocked punt counts as a turnover.
- 5:34Speaker 3: Turnover.
- 5:35Speaker 1: You know, essentially, you didn't flip the field like you
- 5:38Speaker 1: thought you would have.
- 5:41Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 5:41Speaker 2: You know the meme of Breaking Bad where he's like,
- 5:44Speaker 2: they can't keep getting away with this.
- 5:46Speaker 1: They can't keep getting away with this, but they still do.
- 5:49Speaker 3: But they get away with it.
- 5:50Speaker 1: Talking with my buddy Will last night and just.
- 5:54Speaker 2: I was actually talking to him about Florida and saying, hey,
- 5:58Speaker 2: is the doomsday scenario for Florida? They lose the next
- 6:00Speaker 2: four games, which are against Texas, Georgia, Oklahoma, and Kentucky.
- 6:05Speaker 2: And he said, yeah, but... Oklahoma's offense is maybe one
- 6:09Speaker 2: we can still win there. And, you know, they can't
- 6:10Speaker 2: keep just not scoring touchdowns offensively. And when I was like,
- 6:14Speaker 2: you say that, but then they do it. You think
- 6:16Speaker 2: about it?
- 6:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:19Speaker 1: They seem pretty comfortable with it, but they do make
- 6:21Speaker 1: those plays.
- 6:22Speaker 2: And, and it is, it's not, I mean, arch gave
- 6:25Speaker 2: them the, the one pick, you know, arch certainly, you know,
- 6:29Speaker 2: was not great on the box.
- 6:31Speaker 1: That seems to happen every week. Um, They just find ways, man.
- 6:35Speaker 2: And again, I thought in the most crucial of moments,
- 6:38Speaker 2: material stepped up and made two perfect back shoulder throws.
- 6:41Speaker 1: And I'll say this.
- 6:42Speaker 2: They are not a phenomenal offensive team by any means
- 6:46Speaker 2: that I don't even know if they're a good offensive
- 6:47Speaker 2: team by any means, but they gave their quarterback really,
- 6:50Speaker 2: really high percentage throws and let him go out and
- 6:54Speaker 2: make those plays. Both of those back shoulder passes to
- 6:57Speaker 2: Satanga were phenomenal. They were just perfect because you're not
- 7:02Speaker 2: going to turn the ball over there unless it's just
- 7:04Speaker 2: like a wildly inaccurate pass. You're doing what's high percentage,
- 7:08Speaker 2: but you're also going for the win. If this goes
- 7:10Speaker 2: to overtime, I certainly feel like I like Texas. I
- 7:14Speaker 2: certainly feel like they've got the more consistent offense that
- 7:16Speaker 2: can maybe do something, you know, unless a turnover happens.
