SPEAKER_03: Just for those two days, you know.
• 2:18
  SPEAKER_01: It does feel different.
• 2:19
SPEAKER_03: Plus, you had so many conference games and games going on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.
• 2:23
SPEAKER_03: They just stack up already.
• 2:25
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 2:25
SPEAKER_01: And uh maybe the belated will work out in our advantage for our fans.
• 2:30
SPEAKER_03: It will in some way.
• 2:31
SPEAKER_03: So just to let our fans know, you know, Danny was down at the limestone game.
• 2:35
SPEAKER_03: We'll get down to that.
• 2:36
SPEAKER_03: He stayed uh for Easter Sunday to spend time with his son, did not get back until Monday.
• 2:43
SPEAKER_03: Thought his flight, you want to explain?
• 2:45
SPEAKER_03: You thought your flight was at 8 a.m.
• 2:47
SPEAKER_03: It ended up being at 8 p.m.
• 2:49
SPEAKER_01: Oh my God, I'm such a banana.
• 2:52
SPEAKER_03: So then, so then you text me like, hey, can we record on Wednesday instead of Tuesday?
• 2:57
SPEAKER_03: And I'm like, no, I'm going to a hockey caps uh playoff game on Wednesday night.
• 3:04
SPEAKER_03: So here we are on Thursday.
• 3:05
SPEAKER_03: That is the series of unfortunate or fortunate events.
• 3:08
SPEAKER_03: You got to play golf with your son, you got a late flight, I got to go watch hockey with my oldest.
• 3:13
  SPEAKER_03: It's not bad.
• 3:14
SPEAKER_03: Well, I had it all planned out, Kev.
• 3:18
SPEAKER_01: I had it all planned out.
• 3:20
SPEAKER_01: I was gonna spend Easter with my son and then get that early flight Monday back to New York, and I would have like the afternoon, maybe do a little food shopping, because I haven't done that in about a week and a half.
• 3:31
SPEAKER_01: And then I was gonna sit down and throw a couple of games on and have myself a nice lunch, you know, and nice relaxing Monday.
• 3:38
SPEAKER_01: Enjoy it because I wasn't at work.
• 3:40
SPEAKER_01: I was, you know, gonna use that to my advantage.
• 3:42
SPEAKER_01: So I had an early flight, so I get I'm up early, 4:30, shower, get in the car, drive the 45 minutes to Charlotte Airport.
• 3:51
SPEAKER_01: I drop the car off.
• 3:53
  SPEAKER_01: Um everything's nice.
• 3:54
SPEAKER_01: I walk in, TSA, there's nobody there.
• 3:56
SPEAKER_01: I breeze right through, go to D13, I get there, and the board says Minneapolis, St.
• 4:03
  SPEAKER_01: Paul.
• 4:05
  SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, what?
• 4:06
  SPEAKER_01: What's that?
• 4:07
  SPEAKER_01: Something ain't right here.
• 4:09
SPEAKER_01: So I look at my phone, and sure enough, I got an email from the uh from the airline.
• 4:14
SPEAKER_01: Your gate has been changed to C8.
• 4:17
SPEAKER_01: So I get my stuff and I roll back.
• 4:19
SPEAKER_01: I still have time, you know, and I go and I get to C8 and it's completely empty.
• 4:24
  SPEAKER_01: There's nobody there, nobody.
• 4:26
SPEAKER_01: And the board says Miami.
• 4:28
SPEAKER_01: I'm like, all right, what's going on here?
• 4:32
SPEAKER_01: So I go over to the big digital board, I'm looking at all the flights, and I don't even have my flight's not even there.
• 4:38
SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, don't tell me that I am like wrong here.
• 4:42
SPEAKER_01: Like, what did I do?
• 4:43
SPEAKER_01: So I get my boarding pass out because I had to check in the night before, right?
• 4:47
SPEAKER_01: And I get and I said, okay, C8 uh American back to 8 p.m.
• 4:55
SPEAKER_01: I was like, oh no, you gotta be kidding me.
• 5:00
SPEAKER_01: And it's like quarter to seven in the morning.
• 5:05
SPEAKER_01: So I didn't know what to do.
• 5:06
  SPEAKER_01: I went outside.
• 5:07
SPEAKER_01: I was like, do I call my son and have him come?
• 5:09
  SPEAKER_01: No, you know what?
• 5:10
SPEAKER_01: He's got he's got the day off.
• 5:11
SPEAKER_01: He doesn't have classes, they have a meeting.
• 5:13
SPEAKER_01: I don't want to break up his day.
• 5:14
SPEAKER_01: He's got probably got something planned.
• 5:16
SPEAKER_01: Uh let me check an Uber.
• 5:18
SPEAKER_01: An Uber was way too much money.
• 5:20
SPEAKER_01: And I was like, shoot, let me see what a rent a car would be.
• 5:23
SPEAKER_01: And I was like, I'm not paying that just to go drive back to the campus.
• 5:29
SPEAKER_01: I didn't even know where I was gonna go.
• 5:30
  SPEAKER_01: I you know, yeah.
• 5:32
SPEAKER_01: So you know what I did?
• 5:33
SPEAKER_01: I went outside, had breakfast, and uh I just hung out all day and people watched.
• 5:38
SPEAKER_01: Got home at around, I don't know, five after eleven that night.
• 5:42
SPEAKER_03: And then since then it was just the downside for the podcast on time.
• 5:46
SPEAKER_03: We can't be on time all the time.
• 5:48
  SPEAKER_03: We try so hard.
• 5:49
  SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
• 5:50
SPEAKER_01: We did try, but it didn't work out this week.
• 5:52
  SPEAKER_01: I mean, that's my second.
• 5:54
SPEAKER_01: Whoa, remember last year I was in Indiana, then Washington, D.C.
• 5:58
SPEAKER_01: That was the the weary traveler.
• 6:01
  SPEAKER_01: Oh my lord.
• 6:02
SPEAKER_01: So listen, with all the traveling I've done, if that happens once in a while, that's not so bad.
• 6:06
SPEAKER_01: But the last one was all the punches.
• 6:08
SPEAKER_01: Last one was on me.
• 6:10
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah.
• 6:11
SPEAKER_03: Okay, before we get your top 10 roundup, we do have some D2 news, um, which I'm sure most people already know about.
• 6:19
SPEAKER_03: Interestingly, you know, Limestone announced last Wednesday that they were shutting down.
• 6:27
SPEAKER_03: Uh now they have I hear there was a reprieve, not a reprieve, but the vote was postponed.
• 6:31
SPEAKER_03: They were supposed to have a vote this past Tuesday.
• 6:34
SPEAKER_03: They needed six million dollars to stay in business through the end of the semester.
• 6:37
SPEAKER_03: They're gonna close down at the end of the semester.
• 6:39
SPEAKER_03: We were recording last Tuesday night before the news came out with Devin Spilker, limestone alum.
• 6:47
SPEAKER_03: News came out on Wednesday.
• 6:51
SPEAKER_03: So we were already finished recording when it came out, and we had some people DM us, like, hey, is it you know, what's going on with this?
• 6:59
SPEAKER_03: It's you know, after especially after they heard our episode on Thursday.
• 7:03
SPEAKER_03: And I'm like, yeah, it's just timing.
• 7:05
SPEAKER_03: Just really sad to hear that they're this this school is uh a legacy of D2.
• 7:11
SPEAKER_03: They really started the re they're the reason for the regions in a lot of ways, and starting in the south.
• 7:17
  SPEAKER_03: And it's just a shame.
• 7:18
SPEAKER_03: I think we've heard that at least 40 players in the portal right now trying to see where they're gonna go.
• 7:23
SPEAKER_03: They're still trying to move along.
• 7:25
SPEAKER_03: Didn't really hurt them too much in the game against Wingate.
• 7:28
SPEAKER_03: They they came out on top of that.
• 7:29
SPEAKER_03: We'll talk about that later.
• 7:30
SPEAKER_03: But just for D2 in general, you know, when you've got legacy teams like NYIT and Limestone and Name and Merrimack and the ones that have left recently, it's just another kind of really set, especially sad for them to see not going up to D1, but just closing their doors.
• 7:49
  SPEAKER_03: Oh, completely sad.
• 7:50
  SPEAKER_01: It was it's heartbreaking.
• 7:52
SPEAKER_01: Imagine being imagine being a junior.
• 7:54
SPEAKER_01: You're you did your three years, you're like, are you getting ready for your senior year?
• 7:59
SPEAKER_01: Your team's doing great, you have a really good chance of making a national championship, you know, you're a sack regular season champs.
• 8:06
SPEAKER_01: You know, it's a storied program, and the whole thing is just sad.
• 8:10
SPEAKER_01: Um, there was a lot of alumni there, and everybody's sad about it.
• 8:14
  SPEAKER_01: It's it's heartbreaking news, man.
• 8:16
  SPEAKER_03: It really is.
• 8:17
  SPEAKER_03: It is.
• 8:17
SPEAKER_03: It's not only for the players, but the the students.
• 8:20
  SPEAKER_03: They've been it's been around since the 1840s.
• 8:22
SPEAKER_01: It's a storied lacrosse program in Division II.
• 8:25
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 8:26
SPEAKER_01: Multiple championships, and and you know what?
• 8:29
SPEAKER_01: And they've like set the bar.
• 8:32
SPEAKER_01: They kind of set the bar.
• 8:35
SPEAKER_03: I actually wrote that note, a text to Coach Storier when I heard the news.
• 8:39
SPEAKER_03: I mean, you set the bar where everyone is trying to reach and emulate.
• 8:43
  SPEAKER_03: Absolutely.
• 8:44
SPEAKER_01: I mean, I ever since the first time I saw Limestone, I was like, wow, who's this team?
• 8:49
SPEAKER_01: Wow, they were just so much better than my son's team at the time, who won the Sunshine State Conference that year.
• 8:57
SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
• 8:57
SPEAKER_01: Like, yeah, they were a good team with all Americans.
• 9:00
SPEAKER_01: And and Limestone just put a ass whooping on them.
• 9:03
SPEAKER_01: And that was the first time I saw Limestone.
• 9:05
  SPEAKER_01: I was like, where's this school?
• 9:06
  SPEAKER_01: What's it about?
• 9:07
SPEAKER_01: And that's the first time I heard them.
• 9:09
  SPEAKER_01: That's like 2009, 2010, and they've just been a top-notch program ever since, I don't know, ever since its inception, really.
• 9:20
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 9:21
SPEAKER_01: They haven't had too many bad seasons at all.
• 9:24
  SPEAKER_01: No.
• 9:24
SPEAKER_01: And again, they set the bar, you know, the multiple national championships.
• 9:28
SPEAKER_01: It's a small, tiny little school in a small, tiny little town.
• 9:32
SPEAKER_01: And uh, I'm sure that the town and and the gas stations and all the you know the stores in town rely on those students.
• 9:41
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 9:41
SPEAKER_01: You know, rely on the college, you know, for economic reasons or whatever.
• 9:46
SPEAKER_01: But, you know, apparently they need six mil.
• 9:49
  SPEAKER_01: That's the word.
• 9:51
SPEAKER_01: But what about the 30 mil for next year?
• 9:53
SPEAKER_01: Like, you know what I mean?
• 9:54
SPEAKER_01: Like, where's that coming from?
• 9:56
SPEAKER_01: It's not an easy thing to do.
• 9:58
SPEAKER_03: So, what have you heard that they're trying to all I saw, I saw a note on social media that the vote that was supposed to happen this past Tuesday, so two days ago since we're recording, was postponed.
• 10:12
SPEAKER_03: And I haven't, to be honest, I've been too busy since then to try to see where where it stands.
• 10:17
  SPEAKER_03: So I've been it's just a shame.
• 10:19
SPEAKER_03: And just from our perspective, obviously, for what we do, not that our two voices matter, but I I I do want to say to Coach Doyler, to his team, from us and in the crease, we're thinking about you, we're thinking about your boys.
• 10:34
SPEAKER_03: To be honest, in a lot of ways, I would love to see them go and win the whole thing in their last year.
• 10:40
  SPEAKER_01: You know what?
• 10:41
SPEAKER_01: So would I, and bring it to the sack, where the championship belongs, America.
• 10:49
  SPEAKER_01: You know what?
• 10:50
SPEAKER_01: And I agree with you, you know, Coach Story.
• 10:52
SPEAKER_01: You know, just think, Coach has a family, you know, he's got kids.
• 10:56
SPEAKER_01: And as of what, certain day, they're not going to be getting paid anymore.
• 11:01
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 11:02
SPEAKER_01: You know, and and this man who's given up his a lot of time to limestone university, it's his it's his life.
• 11:09
SPEAKER_01: And and uh this poor guy's out of a job, you know?
• 11:13
SPEAKER_01: And that that that's what really kind of, you know, these teachers, these professors, staff, yeah, they're out of a job, you know?
• 11:22
SPEAKER_01: And and the players, yes, it's stunning.
• 11:27
SPEAKER_01: They'll bounce back, you know what I mean?
• 11:29
  SPEAKER_01: They have time.
• 11:30
  SPEAKER_01: Yes, they'll bounce back.
• 11:32
SPEAKER_01: But when you're an adult and you have a family and a home and a house and 2.5 children and the dog and the picket fence, you need a job.
• 11:41
SPEAKER_03: You know, and not only that, it probably made Gaffney and Limestone your home.
• 11:50
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean, exactly.
• 11:53
  SPEAKER_01: I mean, it it's tough.
• 11:54
SPEAKER_01: It was tough, you know.
• 11:56
SPEAKER_01: And uh when I heard the news, I was like, this is this for real?
• 12:01
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, is this for real?
• 12:02
SPEAKER_01: And then again, like you, I got DMs and saying, and I had people sending me uh articles, and I was like, oh man.
• 12:10
  SPEAKER_01: So I haven't heard anything since.
• 12:12
SPEAKER_01: I don't know if they're gonna get this money.
• 12:14
  SPEAKER_01: I think I don't know if it's gonna be a thing.
• 12:17
  SPEAKER_01: We'll see.
• 12:18
SPEAKER_01: I mean, I I think they're praying and hoping, but I think it's a super duper duper uphill uphill battle.
• 12:25
  SPEAKER_03: I agree, I agree.
• 12:27
SPEAKER_03: All right, well, it's time to move on after that.
• 12:30
SPEAKER_03: And like I said, we wish them the best and we hope that there is a a resolution that can come out of it.
• 12:35
SPEAKER_03: But now, Danny, it's time for your top ten.
• 12:38
SPEAKER_01: Oh, Kev, another kind of big week in division two, and this is your round up.
• 13:02
  SPEAKER_01: All right, Kev.
• 13:03
SPEAKER_01: Number one, Tampa beat Emory Riddle in the Sunshine State semis this week.
• 13:09
SPEAKER_01: Emory Riddle knocked out Saint Leo earlier in the week.
• 13:13
SPEAKER_01: So Tampa is undefeated, and the Spartans keep rolling, rolling, rolling.
• 13:19
SPEAKER_01: Keep them doggies rolling, roll hot.
• 13:24
  SPEAKER_01: Tampa's cooking, man.
• 13:26
  SPEAKER_01: They're cooking.
• 13:27
SPEAKER_01: On to the next, as they say in all their posts.
• 13:29
  SPEAKER_01: On to the next.
• 13:30
  SPEAKER_01: On to the next.
• 13:31
SPEAKER_01: Number two, Limestone Saints beat Wingate 18-11 in an exciting game and beat Mars Hill in the last regular season game.
• 13:40
SPEAKER_01: They'll have the first round by in the sack tournament.
• 13:44
  SPEAKER_01: Number three, St.
• 13:45
  SPEAKER_01: A's beat nines pace 15-12.
• 13:50
  SPEAKER_01: And St.
• 13:50
SPEAKER_01: A's will have the top seed and a first round by in the NE10.
• 13:58
SPEAKER_01: Uh number four, Seton Hill.
• 14:00
  SPEAKER_01: Defeated Walsh rather handily.
• 14:02
SPEAKER_01: 25-11 Seton Hills, five and one, uh 15-1 overall this year.
• 14:08
SPEAKER_01: And they get the top seed in the GMAC tournament.
• 14:12
SPEAKER_01: Number five, a Delphi beat Franklin Pierce.
• 14:16
SPEAKER_01: I can't believe they let them score.
• 14:17
  SPEAKER_01: It was 22 to 1.
• 14:20
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 14:21
  SPEAKER_01: Ugh.
• 14:22
SPEAKER_01: That's gotta be tough if you're Franklin Pierce.
• 14:25
SPEAKER_01: And they have the second seed in the NET Adelphi.
• 14:28
SPEAKER_01: Number six, Lenore Ryan beat Kataba rather handily, 23-9.
• 14:32
SPEAKER_01: Number seven, Anderson beat Mars Hill and have a first-round bye in that SAC tournament.
• 14:40
SPEAKER_01: They have the second seed.
• 14:41
SPEAKER_01: We'll maybe talk a little bit about them tonight.
• 14:44
SPEAKER_01: Number eight, Maryville beat Rockhurst 17-8.
• 14:48
  SPEAKER_01: They face Undy.
• 14:49
SPEAKER_01: They have one more game before their tournament starts.
• 14:52
SPEAKER_01: So Maryville faces U Indy next, and Maryville looks pretty good.
• 14:56
SPEAKER_01: Number nine, Pace lost to St.
• 14:58
  SPEAKER_01: A's by three.
• 14:59
SPEAKER_01: They finished the regular season 10-3.
• 15:03
SPEAKER_01: They have the third seed in the NE-10, and I think they might host SNHU Southern New Hampshire, if I'm not mistaken.
• 15:12
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 15:12
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 15:12
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 15:13
  SPEAKER_01: Pace against SNHU.
• 15:14
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we'll go over that.
• 15:15
SPEAKER_01: And here's the big one, Kev.
• 15:18
SPEAKER_01: Number 10 Flagler lost to Monte Valo in peach belt play 14-9.
• 15:25
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 15:26
SPEAKER_01: And Monte Valo will have the the one seed.
• 15:30
  SPEAKER_03: No, Lander has the.
• 15:32
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, lander.
• 15:32
SPEAKER_01: So Montevallo will have the the three seed and flagler with the two seed.
• 15:38
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 15:38
SPEAKER_01: So Flagler kind of shot themselves in the foot a little bit right there.
• 15:43
  SPEAKER_03: They did.
• 15:43
  SPEAKER_03: They did.
• 15:44
  SPEAKER_03: They're playing tonight.
• 15:45
  SPEAKER_03: They're playing tonight.
• 15:46
SPEAKER_03: Not as we actually as we record.
• 15:47
  SPEAKER_03: Flagler against Montevallo.
• 15:49
SPEAKER_03: Lander, Alabama, Huntsville is final right now.
• 15:53
  SPEAKER_03: Lander beat Uah 16-14.
• 15:57
  SPEAKER_03: So Lander moves on.
• 15:59
SPEAKER_01: To the championship for the Peach Belt.
• 16:01
SPEAKER_01: And Flagler's got to win tonight to get to that.
• 16:06
  SPEAKER_01: Oof.
• 16:07
SPEAKER_01: I was shocked about this score, Flagler.
• 16:10
SPEAKER_03: I'll go over that game in our weekend review.
• 16:13
SPEAKER_01: Dude, and there were so many scores to know it was too many to go over.
• 16:16
SPEAKER_01: So Kev, that's your week 11, and that's your round up.
• 16:38
SPEAKER_03: Okay, Danny, I've got a couple to just go over to I found fascinating.
• 16:43
SPEAKER_03: One, North Greenville squeaking by Lees McCrae last week, 19 to 6.
• 16:50
  SPEAKER_03: And this is what I 19 to 16, I'm saying.
• 16:53
SPEAKER_03: Lees McRae had 18 players in uniform, and they went toe-to-toe with North Greenville at home.
• 17:01
SPEAKER_01: And I heard through the grapevine that North Greenville was a little scared at the end of that game because I watched the end of that game.
• 17:10
SPEAKER_03: Leez McCrae did not give up at any time in that game.
• 17:16
SPEAKER_03: It was great to watch.
• 17:18
SPEAKER_01: So, you know, and North Greenville's undefeated in Constance Carolina.
• 17:22
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 17:23
SPEAKER_03: Another one Westminster beats Colorado Mesa in overtime 10-9.
• 17:28
SPEAKER_03: Did not see that one coming.
• 17:30
SPEAKER_03: Montavalo comes back in overtime to beat UAH 16-15.
• 17:36
SPEAKER_03: Their head coach, Coach Fry, is on administrative leave, I've heard.
• 17:40
SPEAKER_03: They almost beat them and they played toe-to-toe with Lander.
• 17:43
  SPEAKER_03: They almost beat Lander.
• 17:44
SPEAKER_03: They were ahead in several times during this Peach Belt conference play, tournament play.
• 17:49
SPEAKER_03: And then the last one, which kind of showed me that Tampa is beatable.
• 17:57
SPEAKER_03: They squeaked by Florida Southern last week in overtime 11-10 last Wednesday over a week ago.
• 18:02
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 18:03
SPEAKER_03: Did you see the overtime?
• 18:05
  SPEAKER_01: I did.
• 18:05
  SPEAKER_01: Ches won the face-off.
• 18:08
  SPEAKER_01: Yep.
• 18:09
SPEAKER_01: And then they just couldn't secure the ground ball.
• 18:12
  SPEAKER_03: Yep.
• 18:12
  SPEAKER_03: Goes out of bounds.
• 18:14
  unknown: Yeah.
• 18:15
SPEAKER_03: Tampa goes down and scores.
• 18:16
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 18:16
SPEAKER_01: And it was kind of like a cheapy goal.
• 18:18
SPEAKER_01: It wasn't like a crazy sick goal.
• 18:20
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I agree.
• 18:21
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 18:21
SPEAKER_01: You know, that was a game.
• 18:23
  SPEAKER_01: That was a game.
• 18:24
SPEAKER_01: You know, good for Florida Southern.
• 18:25
SPEAKER_03: They had a tough year, man.
• 18:26
  SPEAKER_03: Right.
• 18:27
SPEAKER_03: And to go, that's I I was nothing against Tampa, but you gotta want to have Florida Southern win that game.
• 18:34
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 18:34
  SPEAKER_03: Come on.
• 18:35
  SPEAKER_01: Of course.
• 18:36
  SPEAKER_04: Of course.
• 18:38
SPEAKER_01: You know, we had Mikey Simone's mom be like, you know, going crazy.
• 18:41
  SPEAKER_01: But you know what?
• 18:42
  SPEAKER_01: And uh Mikey Simone's career's over.
• 18:44
SPEAKER_01: He's done, you know, and uh he had a great career.
• 18:48
  SPEAKER_01: Great career.
• 18:49
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he he really did.
• 18:50
SPEAKER_01: And you know, Florida Southern looked really good in that game, and they just kept coming and kept coming.
• 18:56
SPEAKER_01: And and you know what?
• 18:57
SPEAKER_01: Maybe Tampa played down a little bit, but I'll tell you, that when it went into overtime and Chiz won the face-offs.
• 19:04
SPEAKER_01: I was like, oh, and then the ball was going, it was on the ground, it got picked up and went up in the air, and it came down.
• 19:10
SPEAKER_03: It was like four times.
• 19:12
SPEAKER_03: I thought of the Southern had it back in their stick.
• 19:14
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and every time they had a stick, a check came out, bang, and the ball went up in the air, and then finally, like again, we went out of bounds and it went Tampa's way, you know.
• 19:22
SPEAKER_03: Get on Tampa on those, keep on checking them to get that ball, keep that ball loose.
• 19:26
  SPEAKER_01: That was exciting, man.
• 19:27
SPEAKER_03: That crown ball meant that was worth a lot of money.
• 19:30
  SPEAKER_03: That crown ball.
• 19:31
  SPEAKER_03: Yep.
• 19:32
SPEAKER_03: Okay, let's move on to our weekend review.
• 19:34
SPEAKER_03: I know based on your schedule, you basically watched one game.
• 19:38
SPEAKER_03: So let me go over a few that I watched.
• 19:40
SPEAKER_03: The first one you talked about, Maryville beating Rocker 17 to 8.
• 19:45
SPEAKER_03: I was gonna start right off.
• 19:47
  SPEAKER_03: I wrote this note.
• 19:49
SPEAKER_03: It's a tale of two halves, but I literally, as I was writing that note, got a text from Joe Vadovnik saying, I bet you're gonna say on the next podcast a tale of two halves.
• 20:02
SPEAKER_03: So I said, I gotta change this up.
• 20:05
SPEAKER_03: So my two different references, Danny, are either it was like a Dr.
• 20:09
  SPEAKER_03: Jekyll and Mr.
• 20:10
SPEAKER_03: Hyde game, or it was like my golf game, where like the first front nine, it's steady and even.
• 20:17
SPEAKER_03: I'm playing right with the other, playing right where I think I should, right on par with my handicap.
• 20:23
  SPEAKER_03: Right.
• 20:23
SPEAKER_03: And then the back nine, the wheels fall off.
• 20:26
SPEAKER_03: Because Maryville went out and won it 17-8.
• 20:29
SPEAKER_03: It was 4-4 after one, and this game in the end showed why Maryville is where they're at this year.
• 20:37
SPEAKER_03: It was 4-4 after one, 7-7 at half.
• 20:40
SPEAKER_03: And then uh they continued to battle in the third until about 10-minute mark when Maryville scored three quick ones to go up 10-7.
• 20:48
SPEAKER_03: They started winning a lot of face-offs.
• 20:50
SPEAKER_03: Um Rockhurst was getting some open looks, but Radke was Dylan Radkey was making some great saves.
• 20:56
SPEAKER_03: I think the Hawks helped him out a little bit with some easy shots right into his cross.
• 21:01
SPEAKER_03: I mean some easier saves.
• 21:03
SPEAKER_03: It's 13-8 after three, so they kind of open it up.
• 21:07
SPEAKER_03: Like they they like I said, it was they opened up 10-7, then they they kind of scored a few more.
• 21:12
SPEAKER_03: And like I said, Meryville just then just blew it open, and uh they end up winning 17-8.
• 21:21
SPEAKER_01: So in the uh GLBC, Maryville has the top they have the top seed.
• 21:28
SPEAKER_03: They have the top seed.
• 21:29
SPEAKER_03: Lewis will be the two seed.
• 21:31
SPEAKER_03: Lewis and Rockhurst play on Saturday.
• 21:35
  SPEAKER_03: Rocky Saturday or Friday.
• 21:37
  SPEAKER_03: All right, Rockhurst.
• 21:38
SPEAKER_03: Rockhurst is seven and the two seed.
• 21:40
SPEAKER_03: Because they're both they both have one loss in the in one in conference.
• 21:45
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 21:46
SPEAKER_01: Lewis is eleven and three overall, uh Rockhurst is seven and five overall.
• 21:51
  SPEAKER_01: Who do you like?
• 21:51
SPEAKER_01: Who do you like in that game?
• 21:54
  SPEAKER_01: I I can't bet against Lewis.
• 21:56
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, the GLBC, but like Maryville and Lewis, Maryville.
• 22:00
SPEAKER_01: Beat Lewis in the regular season.
• 22:03
SPEAKER_01: You Indy, you know, they're two and two, six and seven, sub 500.
• 22:08
  SPEAKER_01: Crazy.
• 22:09
SPEAKER_01: That does that's just crazy.
• 22:11
SPEAKER_01: So it looks like it's gonna be Lewis and Maryville in that.
• 22:15
SPEAKER_01: I'm not gonna count you Indy and Rockhurst out, guys.
• 22:18
SPEAKER_01: You guys still gotta play the game.
• 22:20
SPEAKER_03: Well, so that's just for seating.
• 22:21
SPEAKER_03: I if you look at this game, Danny, Rockhurst was dead even with them through the that first half.
• 22:28
  SPEAKER_03: Dead even.
• 22:29
SPEAKER_03: Uh in play and everything.
• 22:31
SPEAKER_03: I mean, it just was a really close game.
• 22:34
SPEAKER_03: In some ways, uh it uh mirrored the Wingate limestone game, right?
• 22:40
SPEAKER_03: And I based on that, and based, you know, they Maryville beat Rockhurst in overtime.
• 22:45
SPEAKER_03: Maryville is right now, it's the better team.
• 22:50
SPEAKER_03: They are the better team.
• 22:51
SPEAKER_03: Now, if they play right have to play Rockhurst again, we've talked about this before.
• 22:54
SPEAKER_03: How many times can you beat three team three games in a row against a team like that?
• 22:59
  SPEAKER_03: I I do think Maryville's that good, so we'll see.
• 23:02
SPEAKER_03: Another game was obviously you talked about this pace against St.
• 23:06
  SPEAKER_03: Anselm.
• 23:07
  SPEAKER_03: St.
• 23:07
SPEAKER_03: Anselm pulls it out 15 to 12.
• 23:10
SPEAKER_03: They started out, they go out, St.
• 23:12
SPEAKER_03: A's goes out to a 6-0 lead until the setters finally score with 22 seconds left in the first.
• 23:20
  SPEAKER_03: So it's 6-1 after one, it's 9-3 at half.
• 23:24
SPEAKER_03: So the Saint A's outscored, St.
• 23:26
SPEAKER_03: A's outscored them by one in the second as well, and 3-2.
• 23:29
SPEAKER_03: So pace relief put themselves in a hole that they had to work back, and you're waiting to see what it what can they do to change things up.
• 23:37
  SPEAKER_03: Not much.
• 23:38
  SPEAKER_03: Not much.
• 23:39
SPEAKER_03: I mean, I'm sure they try to change things.
• 23:40
SPEAKER_03: I'm not a coach, but uh Saint A's defense was just stifling.
• 23:45
SPEAKER_03: It was 11-5 after three, Danny.
• 23:48
SPEAKER_03: I've heard Finn Grenara broke his collarbone.
• 23:52
  SPEAKER_03: I don't think Finn Grenara was.
• 23:55
SPEAKER_03: If he did, I I did Nash Kelly did go in goal.
• 23:58
SPEAKER_03: I don't know if Finn did it at that game or if it was I did not see during the game.
• 24:04
SPEAKER_03: Now I have to remember, I probably didn't watch so much of the first quarter, so it may have happened somewhere in that game.
• 24:10
SPEAKER_03: But Nash Kelly came in and played a good game after that.
• 24:13
  SPEAKER_03: So St.
• 24:14
SPEAKER_01: A's lost their top goalie, man.
• 24:16
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 24:17
SPEAKER_01: So we'll see how that fares in any 10 play.
• 24:20
SPEAKER_01: They're gonna have the top, they're 8-0 in conference.
• 24:22
  SPEAKER_01: What a year St.
• 24:23
  SPEAKER_01: A's had, you know.
• 24:24
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 24:25
SPEAKER_03: I'll tell you what, they've just been playing better and better.
• 24:27
SPEAKER_03: And obviously Finn Grenara was a big piece of that.
• 24:30
SPEAKER_03: I mean, their defense were stopping, instead of them stopping second chances and forcing empty possessions.
• 24:36
SPEAKER_03: There, I read a stat on lacrosse reference that their on-goal shooting percent percentage for that game was 71.3%.
• 24:45
  SPEAKER_03: Oh boy, oh boy.
• 24:47
SPEAKER_03: Now, when you're doing stuff like that on offense, yeah, exactly.
• 24:52
SPEAKER_01: It is tough to beat a team like that.
• 24:54
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 24:55
  SPEAKER_01: And you know what?
• 24:56
SPEAKER_01: Again, I think pace, as good as they are, there's just something missing about this team.
• 25:00
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know if it's midfield, something.
• 25:03
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
• 25:04
SPEAKER_03: Well, they came back like, look at they were down 13-6, and the game ends.
• 25:10
SPEAKER_03: They they score um four quick ones in about two and a half minutes to close within three, make it 13-10.
• 25:18
SPEAKER_03: The goal, the score ends up being a three-goal difference, 15-12.
• 25:23
SPEAKER_03: So they fought back to give it the pace, but once again, when you're playing a team like St.
• 25:27
SPEAKER_03: A's, and we've seen that when you play a game like Maryville, play like a limestone.
• 25:32
SPEAKER_03: If if they create that big of a gap, uh it is very tough to close.
• 25:39
  SPEAKER_03: I agree.
• 25:40
  SPEAKER_03: You're right.
• 25:41
SPEAKER_03: Especially with teams like that, you know.
• 25:43
SPEAKER_03: With you know that's what I'm saying.
• 25:44
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, with with that, it it's it's just tough.
• 25:48
SPEAKER_03: And that, Danny, is exactly what happened in this game.
• 25:52
SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna talk about before we go to the Wingate limestone game.
• 25:56
  SPEAKER_03: Lander against Flagler.
• 25:58
  SPEAKER_03: Peach belt baby.
• 26:00
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 26:00
SPEAKER_03: You and I both had Flagler winning this game.
• 26:03
  SPEAKER_03: Yep.
• 26:04
SPEAKER_03: Lander came out with a great game plan on offense.
• 26:07
SPEAKER_03: They ended up winning 14 and 9.
• 26:09
SPEAKER_03: Flagler scores first, but then Lander scores at seven unanswered, Danny.
• 26:17
  SPEAKER_03: That's unbelievable.
• 26:19
SPEAKER_03: I was watching it, Danny, and I was shocked.
• 26:23
SPEAKER_03: I was shocked not only by their pace and how they did it, I mean, they really were moving the ball well.
• 26:29
SPEAKER_03: It's something you usually see with Flagler.
• 26:31
  SPEAKER_01: Right.
• 26:33
SPEAKER_03: They and Flag and Flagler did not have the ball in their offensive side of the ball that often.
• 26:41
  unknown: Really?
• 26:41
SPEAKER_03: Flagler finally scores with 126 left, so it's 7-2 after one.
• 26:45
SPEAKER_03: Landers D was really pressing out.
• 26:47
SPEAKER_03: And here's the other thing I would say, they were playing really scrappy.
• 26:52
SPEAKER_03: Like this, they wanted this game.
• 26:54
SPEAKER_03: They want the ball for all the ground.
• 26:55
  SPEAKER_03: No, Lander.
• 26:56
  SPEAKER_03: Oh, okay.
• 26:57
SPEAKER_03: Flighting for all the ground balls.
• 26:59
SPEAKER_03: They had they showed a lot of hustle.
• 27:02
SPEAKER_03: And if you go and look at the stats, the two team stats that really stand out, saves, lander had 10, flagler had five.
• 27:11
  SPEAKER_03: Ground balls, though, Danny.
• 27:13
SPEAKER_03: This goes back to their hustle.
• 27:14
  SPEAKER_03: 39 for lander, 23 for Flagler.
• 27:20
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 27:21
SPEAKER_03: So it uh but you know, they're up 7-2 after one, and Flagler didn't give up.
• 27:27
SPEAKER_03: It's not like they they rolled over, they came crawling back in.
• 27:30
SPEAKER_03: They made it 9-6 at half.
• 27:32
SPEAKER_03: Very reasonable, especially for Flagler.
• 27:34
  SPEAKER_03: Only a three-goal differential.
• 27:36
  SPEAKER_03: Right.
• 27:37
SPEAKER_03: But Lander scores first in the third to push the lead back to four.
• 27:42
SPEAKER_03: And and it kind of goes back to fourth, and Lander scores the one minute left to go in the third to make a 12-8 after three.
• 27:49
  SPEAKER_03: And you're like, okay, it's a four-goal game.
• 27:53
SPEAKER_03: Lander has controlled most of this game, but Flagler's not out of it.
• 27:58
SPEAKER_03: Then it just became a defensive game.
• 28:00
SPEAKER_03: There were no goal scorer, Danny, in the fourth until three minutes left when Flagler's goalie brings the ball up in transition.
• 28:08
  SPEAKER_03: This was crazy.
• 28:08
SPEAKER_03: Brings the ball up in transition, tries to tries to clear it.
• 28:14
SPEAKER_03: Lander player picks it out of the air.
• 28:18
  SPEAKER_03: Intercepted it.
• 28:19
  SPEAKER_03: Intercepted it.
• 28:20
SPEAKER_03: It can go right around the goalie.
• 28:21
  SPEAKER_03: Open goal.
• 28:22
SPEAKER_03: They now open up a five-goal difference.
• 28:24
  SPEAKER_03: 13-8 with 250 left.
• 28:26
SPEAKER_03: There's not come, you're not coming back from that.
• 28:29
  SPEAKER_03: No, no, you're not.
• 28:30
  SPEAKER_03: So 14-9 was a front end.
• 28:31
SPEAKER_03: And like I said, Lander really controlled the whole games.
• 28:34
SPEAKER_03: And the Bearcats clinched the regular season championship in the peach belt there.
• 28:38
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, good for you.
• 28:39
  SPEAKER_01: Lander Bearcats.
• 28:40
SPEAKER_01: I was not expecting that.
• 28:42
  SPEAKER_01: I picked Flagler.
• 28:44
SPEAKER_01: So good for you, Lander.
• 28:45
SPEAKER_01: You got that top seed there.
• 28:47
SPEAKER_01: And and Flagler kind of shot themselves in the foot.
• 28:50
SPEAKER_01: I felt that they were in the driver's seat in that conference.
• 28:53
SPEAKER_03: We said it the last, I think the last two weeks.
• 28:55
SPEAKER_03: They were definitely in the driver's seat.
• 28:57
SPEAKER_03: And what you don't realize, and I go back to that game I said about Montevallo just beating UAH in overtime, how close these teams are to each other.
• 29:08
SPEAKER_03: You get in that conference play.
• 29:11
  SPEAKER_03: Yep.
• 29:12
SPEAKER_01: And it's not smooth sailing.
• 29:14
  SPEAKER_01: No, you're right.
• 29:15
SPEAKER_01: And you know, I figured Flagler was just gonna just sail right through this.
• 29:19
  SPEAKER_01: I really did.
• 29:20
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 29:21
  SPEAKER_01: I really did.
• 29:22
SPEAKER_01: And to just to see that is amazing.
• 29:24
SPEAKER_01: Now, now we got to talk about Flagler.
• 29:27
SPEAKER_01: Like, what the hell, boys?
• 29:28
SPEAKER_01: Was that a trap game?
• 29:30
  SPEAKER_01: Did you play down?
• 29:31
SPEAKER_01: Or did, you know, was the other squad just that much better that night?
• 29:37
SPEAKER_01: Or has Flagler really played anybody this year?
• 29:40
SPEAKER_01: I mean, they go through the Sunshine State, they beat Lynn and Rollins, and they they beat a lot of good teams.
• 29:46
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 29:47
SPEAKER_01: But but I said to you, I think it was like two weeks ago, is Flagler a true top 10 team?
• 29:53
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 29:54
  SPEAKER_01: Are they a true top 10?
• 29:57
SPEAKER_01: Do they match up with the Lenore Rhines and the Adelphis and the Paces and the Limestone?
• 30:04
SPEAKER_01: Are they at that level?
• 30:06
SPEAKER_01: Are they playing at that level?
• 30:08
SPEAKER_01: And I felt as good as they were, they're not playing at that level.
• 30:14
SPEAKER_01: So here's Flagler kind of proving my point, getting beat up.
• 30:19
SPEAKER_01: And now it's gonna be a fight for them.
• 30:22
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 30:23
SPEAKER_01: And that may be good for them.
• 30:25
  SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
• 30:26
SPEAKER_01: You got punched in the mouth.
• 30:27
  SPEAKER_01: Right.
• 30:27
SPEAKER_01: They got punched in the mouth.
• 30:29
SPEAKER_03: How are you gonna respond?
• 30:30
SPEAKER_03: And they, like I said, they started to in that game.
• 30:33
SPEAKER_03: When I when it was seven to one, I'm like, oh my gosh.
• 30:36
SPEAKER_03: And I said it's still early, it's still early, but that's tough.
• 30:39
SPEAKER_03: And they they did fight back, but gosh, you know, lander was not gonna give in.
• 30:45
SPEAKER_03: And and that, I think, embodies the peach belt.
• 30:50
SPEAKER_03: You know, when they're they're not, they are not no team.
• 30:54
SPEAKER_03: Uah against Montevallo, UAH against Lander.
• 30:58
  SPEAKER_03: They lose by two.
• 30:59
SPEAKER_03: UAH had lost won only like two games all year, and they put up a fight against.
• 31:04
  SPEAKER_03: I love it.
• 31:05
  SPEAKER_03: I love it.
• 31:06
  SPEAKER_01: That's what's great about this.
• 31:07
SPEAKER_01: I like I love the peach belt.
• 31:08
  SPEAKER_01: It's really cool.
• 31:09
SPEAKER_01: And then they're gonna match up with the with the Armac.
• 31:13
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 31:14
SPEAKER_03: So and and I thought CME was looking good.
• 31:17
SPEAKER_03: Westminster beats him in overtime.
• 31:20
  unknown: Yeah.
• 31:21
  SPEAKER_01: I know.
• 31:22
  SPEAKER_01: I know.
• 31:23
SPEAKER_01: This crazy, this is gonna be really interesting, these two.
• 31:26
SPEAKER_01: I think the way they're coming out now.
• 31:29
SPEAKER_01: I'm telling you, folks, you've got to watch that game.
• 31:34
SPEAKER_03: If you don't watch who the in the peach belt and the and the RMAC tournament, but Westminster has the two seed now.
• 31:41
  SPEAKER_03: Westminster has the three-seed.
• 31:43
  SPEAKER_03: Oh, the three.
• 31:44
SPEAKER_03: They lost to C UI.
• 31:45
  SPEAKER_03: So it's CMU.
• 31:46
  SPEAKER_03: So Concordia.
• 31:47
  SPEAKER_03: All right.
• 31:47
  SPEAKER_03: So concordia.
• 31:48
SPEAKER_03: Cordia is playing Westminster right now in the second quarter.
• 31:52
  SPEAKER_03: Westminster's up 7-5.
• 31:54
  SPEAKER_03: Okay.
• 31:54
SPEAKER_03: Colorado, Mesa, and Dominican play later tonight.
• 31:57
SPEAKER_03: I think they're all playing these games at Mesa.
• 32:00
  SPEAKER_03: Okay.
• 32:00
  SPEAKER_03: That's at 9 p.m.
• 32:01
  SPEAKER_03: Eastern.
• 32:03
  SPEAKER_03: So um, yeah.
• 32:05
  SPEAKER_03: It is.
• 32:07
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know what to say.
• 32:08
SPEAKER_01: I don't know where which way to go.
• 32:11
SPEAKER_01: I mean, I think Mesa Concordia or Westminster could beat each other at any given time.
• 32:16
  SPEAKER_01: Yes.
• 32:16
  SPEAKER_03: Yes.
• 32:16
SPEAKER_01: And it looks like Flagler and Lander and Montevallo can beat each other at any given time.
• 32:21
SPEAKER_01: And that's what's so great about tournament.
• 32:23
SPEAKER_01: Like, even like March Madness, getting in, getting in, getting into the tournament.
• 32:28
SPEAKER_01: You know, once you're in advance.
• 32:30
  SPEAKER_01: It's zero-zero.
• 32:31
SPEAKER_01: You know, it doesn't matter what you did in the regular season.
• 32:34
  SPEAKER_01: You got 60 minutes.
• 32:35
SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
• 32:36
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 32:36
  SPEAKER_01: I love it.
• 32:37
  SPEAKER_01: I love it.
• 32:37
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's getting good.
• 32:38
SPEAKER_01: I love that peach belt RMAC thing.
• 32:41
SPEAKER_01: I think that's going to be really intriguing in the next two, three days.
• 32:45
SPEAKER_01: See what happens in that.
• 32:46
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I can't wait.
• 32:47
  SPEAKER_03: Okay.
• 32:47
SPEAKER_03: Last game to talk about in a week in review.
• 32:50
  SPEAKER_03: You were there.
• 32:50
  SPEAKER_03: Limestone wingate.
• 32:52
SPEAKER_03: Limestone pulls it out, wins 18 to 11.
• 32:56
SPEAKER_03: I'll let you start off.
• 32:57
  SPEAKER_03: Give me your thoughts.
• 32:58
SPEAKER_01: Oh, it was a great, it was a great afternoon.
• 33:00
SPEAKER_01: I mean, again, Limestone had just found out two, three days prior to that, that they were closing.
• 33:05
  SPEAKER_01: Everybody was in shock.
• 33:08
SPEAKER_01: And that game brought back a lot of alumni and a lot of families there.
• 33:13
SPEAKER_01: And uh the tailgate was insane.
• 33:16
SPEAKER_01: There was a lot of people there.
• 33:18
SPEAKER_01: Uh the fla uh the limestone people were all in there white.
• 33:22
  SPEAKER_01: It was a whiteout.
• 33:23
SPEAKER_01: They all had Saints uniforms from the old days on.
• 33:26
SPEAKER_01: They had really, it was pretty good.
• 33:28
SPEAKER_01: Um, the atmosphere was electric all day, all afternoon.
• 33:33
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 33:33
SPEAKER_01: It was limestone senior night.
• 33:36
SPEAKER_01: So they had their seniors coming out and doing their thing.
• 33:40
SPEAKER_01: And Coach Boyle from the Wingate Bulldogs did such a great thing.
• 33:44
SPEAKER_01: He took his team and pulled them to the side because they were doing warm-ups kind of getting the teams ready.
• 33:50
SPEAKER_01: And then they started this the senior ceremony, and Coach Boyle pulled them aside and let them do that.
• 33:56
SPEAKER_01: And like, I thought that was a classy move, you know what I'm saying?
• 34:00
SPEAKER_01: I just thought it was great.
• 34:01
SPEAKER_01: And you know, then I'm thinking about hey, Coach Boyle from Wingate coached at Dowling, and Dowling closed their doors.
• 34:08
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 34:09
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 34:09
SPEAKER_01: So he kind of went through right he knows exactly what Brendan Storier is going through at limestone, you know?
• 34:18
SPEAKER_01: And I just felt that was such a classy move by Coach Boyle and the Wingate Bulldogs.
• 34:22
SPEAKER_01: It was just a really good move.
• 34:24
  SPEAKER_01: The game was exciting.
• 34:27
  SPEAKER_01: Fast, fast, fast, Kev.
• 34:31
SPEAKER_01: These guys, the energy was electric.
• 34:34
SPEAKER_01: It was a night game.
• 34:35
SPEAKER_01: Uh again, all the alumni there.
• 34:38
SPEAKER_01: It was just, you know, that's what D2 lacrosse.
• 34:43
SPEAKER_01: It doesn't get much better than that.
• 34:45
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 34:46
  SPEAKER_03: It's funny, Danny.
• 34:47
SPEAKER_01: You think about the playoff atmosphere and the amount of people that were there.
• 34:50
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 34:50
SPEAKER_01: And just everything that was on the line in Limestone.
• 34:54
  SPEAKER_01: It's their senior night.
• 34:55
  SPEAKER_01: They just got word.
• 34:57
SPEAKER_01: I mean, the emotion in the in the area was just like it was in the air.
• 35:02
SPEAKER_01: There was a lot of students coming to watch.
• 35:04
  SPEAKER_01: They were hanging out.
• 35:05
SPEAKER_01: I mean, it was just, it was a day.
• 35:08
SPEAKER_01: And I thought, I thought the game was a good game.
• 35:10
SPEAKER_01: And if you look at the stats, they're super duper close.
• 35:14
SPEAKER_01: Except for in a couple.
• 35:15
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I'll tell you, that game was a barn burner until six minutes left in the third.
• 35:21
SPEAKER_03: In fact, I texted you and Devin Spilker at half, and I said, strap in, boys.
• 35:28
SPEAKER_03: This second half is going to be a game.
• 35:31
SPEAKER_03: It was a good one.
• 35:32
  SPEAKER_03: Didn't work out.
• 35:35
  SPEAKER_03: At half.
• 35:36
SPEAKER_03: And it was a like I told you before we started recording, right?
• 35:42
SPEAKER_03: Line stone came down, scored two quick ones.
• 35:46
  SPEAKER_03: I didn't know where Wingate's defense was.
• 35:48
SPEAKER_03: I was like, what the heck's going on?
• 35:50
SPEAKER_03: Then they settled in and it just became a battle.
• 35:53
SPEAKER_03: And like you said, Danny, it was fast.
• 35:58
SPEAKER_03: The way these two teams the precision on how they moved the ball.
• 36:02
SPEAKER_03: Now they did have both sides had some sloppy play.
• 36:10
SPEAKER_03: I attribute that more to the defense, even if it wasn't a cause turnover, creating that turnover, you know, just because of the the the tension, the the the play, the play that the teams were doing.
• 36:24
SPEAKER_01: It was it was a good good game.
• 36:25
  SPEAKER_01: You're right.
• 36:26
SPEAKER_01: It was it was a really good game.
• 36:27
SPEAKER_01: It was had it had playoff atmosphere, but again, the speed, the speed of this game was insane.
• 36:33
SPEAKER_01: I mean, and it kept going.
• 36:35
SPEAKER_01: And I, you know, I was just like, wow, this energy.
• 36:38
SPEAKER_01: And both teams were matching each other's energy.
• 36:40
  SPEAKER_01: And it was great.
• 36:41
SPEAKER_01: Again, it was tied seven at half.
• 36:44
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 36:44
SPEAKER_01: And it was and it was tied nine-nine with about seven, six, seven minutes left in the third.
• 36:49
  SPEAKER_01: Yep.
• 36:50
SPEAKER_01: And then Wingate got caught on a transition goal, pole goal, and you saw a little wind come out of their sails.
• 36:59
SPEAKER_01: You just kind of saw, like, okay, hands on hips, you know, bet bowed heads, like starting to get tired.
• 37:07
SPEAKER_01: You know, and and and and limestone, they you know what?
• 37:11
SPEAKER_01: They went on to prove why they're a legitimate contender, you know.
• 37:17
  SPEAKER_03: I wrote this down.
• 37:18
SPEAKER_03: I just think Limestone's the better team this year.
• 37:22
SPEAKER_03: I think they're the better team, maybe not talent-wise, but just putting it all together on the field.
• 37:29
SPEAKER_03: I think Wingate is a very talented team on both offense and defense, but they just they just, like you said, Danny, they are you said this about a Delphi, and you've been saying it about this year.
• 37:41
SPEAKER_03: They're like the Chinese Army.
• 37:42
SPEAKER_03: They just keep coming at you.
• 37:43
SPEAKER_03: They just keep coming at you.
• 37:45
SPEAKER_03: And sooner or later, they break you.
• 37:48
SPEAKER_03: And that is basically what happened in this game.
• 37:51
SPEAKER_03: And I'm not saying as like Wingate was bad.
• 37:53
SPEAKER_03: I like I told you before, two things I would point out.
• 37:57
SPEAKER_03: Somewhere near the end of the second quarter and through the beginning of the fourth, third quarter, Wingate was causing some turnovers that were getting it back on offense because of, or unforced errors by limestone.
• 38:09
SPEAKER_03: And a lot of times the dogs could not capitalize on that.
• 38:12
SPEAKER_03: And I'm not and I'm not saying that they there was like bad things, just either a good save, just a missed shot.
• 38:19
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 38:20
SPEAKER_03: Something happened that they could not capitalize on.
• 38:22
SPEAKER_01: They would get a stick in the lane, deflect a shot.
• 38:24
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 38:24
SPEAKER_01: Corey Lyons was as solid in goal as you know as he could be all year, you know.
• 38:30
SPEAKER_03: And then and then what was a turnaround?
• 38:32
SPEAKER_03: Is the Saints then took care of The Rock at the end of the third and through the fourth.
• 38:36
SPEAKER_01: They just, you know, they just turned it up a notch.
• 38:39
SPEAKER_01: Again, like I saw that that poll goal.
• 38:41
SPEAKER_01: I looked at the Wingate players, and I just saw a lot of hands on hips and bowed heads, like, wow, can we can we keep this pace up, you know?
• 38:50
  SPEAKER_01: And you know what?
• 38:52
  SPEAKER_01: I I watched every game that Wingate's played.
• 38:54
SPEAKER_01: That's the fastest that they've played all year.
• 38:57
SPEAKER_01: And I remember talking to my son afterwards, and I was like, Man, you guys can play like that all the time.
• 39:03
SPEAKER_01: You know, like, yeah, why'd you get like lit up against limestone?
• 39:08
SPEAKER_01: You could he goes, Dad, we're just trying to match their energy.
• 39:11
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and well, and that's it's interesting.
• 39:13
SPEAKER_03: I I told you this too, and like I said, I'm not a coach.
• 39:16
SPEAKER_03: I could be reading this all wrong.
• 39:18
SPEAKER_03: In the first half, when Limestone scored so quickly, and they scored, they were up 4-1 at one time.
• 39:25
SPEAKER_03: Wingate, when they had the ball on offense, they didn't play slow, but they played patient.
• 39:30
  unknown: Yeah.
• 39:31
SPEAKER_03: You see what I'm saying?
• 39:31
SPEAKER_03: And then they scored and caught up and then went ahead.
• 39:33
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Wingate got their looks.
• 39:35
SPEAKER_03: You know, they were getting looks, they were getting clean looks.
• 39:38
SPEAKER_03: When they when they were down by three at the end of the third, I think they lost their patience.
• 39:45
SPEAKER_03: And I think I think that played a little bit into it.
• 39:49
SPEAKER_03: Like they went for some quick shots instead of working it and being a little more patient and they because they had still had time.
• 39:58
SPEAKER_03: They weren't down by eight with ten minutes to go, right?
• 40:02
SPEAKER_01: And so now that's just you know I'll tell you, you know, I kept looking at storier in the game.
• 40:08
SPEAKER_01: I kept looking at over it because I was on the player's side.
• 40:12
SPEAKER_01: So I could hear what he was saying, and I could see his body language.
• 40:17
SPEAKER_01: Let me tell you something.
• 40:19
  SPEAKER_01: He was amped up.
• 40:20
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
• 40:20
  SPEAKER_01: He was amped up.
• 40:21
  SPEAKER_01: I bet.
• 40:22
SPEAKER_01: Especially when it was like 9-9 in the third, there was a couple of calls.
• 40:26
  SPEAKER_01: A couple of non-calls.
• 40:28
SPEAKER_01: There was it was physical.
• 40:30
SPEAKER_01: It was a physical game.
• 40:31
SPEAKER_01: But there were like two or three non-calls against that Wingate didn't get that they should have gotten.
• 40:39
SPEAKER_01: I mean, uh there was one play where Kyle Spence got literally decapitated.
• 40:44
SPEAKER_01: The guy had his whole arm around his neck.
• 40:47
  SPEAKER_01: No call.
• 40:49
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 40:49
  SPEAKER_01: No call.
• 40:50
SPEAKER_01: There was another play Wingate was trying to clear, had a guy on the sideline, passed to the sideline.
• 40:56
SPEAKER_01: It was a little high.
• 40:56
SPEAKER_01: The kid went to jump.
• 40:58
SPEAKER_01: Limestone player hit him in the back hard, sent him flying.
• 41:01
SPEAKER_01: They they lost the ball.
• 41:02
  SPEAKER_01: But that's a that's illegal.
• 41:05
SPEAKER_01: You can't hit somebody in the back like that, and they didn't get that call, and Limestone got the ball.
• 41:10
SPEAKER_01: So, and then he saw Coach Boyle got his Irish up.
• 41:13
SPEAKER_01: He was like talking to the reps a few times.
• 41:15
SPEAKER_01: So let me tell you something.
• 41:17
SPEAKER_01: Both these coaches were into the game.
• 41:19
SPEAKER_01: And I saw a storyer, he was 9-9 with seven minutes left.
• 41:24
SPEAKER_01: He's like, God damn, you know, like, oh my god.
• 41:26
SPEAKER_01: And I could see it in him.
• 41:28
  SPEAKER_01: But you know what?
• 41:28
SPEAKER_01: That's what good coaches do.
• 41:30
SPEAKER_01: They get they get amped up, you know.
• 41:32
SPEAKER_01: And I think, I think a lot of times teams emulate their coach.
• 41:37
  SPEAKER_03: You know?
• 41:38
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 41:38
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I agree with that.
• 41:40
  SPEAKER_03: I agree with that.
• 41:40
SPEAKER_03: Well, here's the the team stats that I found interesting.
• 41:44
SPEAKER_03: Danny ground balls, uh, limestone had 33 to Wingates 26.
• 41:48
SPEAKER_03: Not too much of a difference, a little bit.
• 41:50
SPEAKER_03: Extra man, two for two for Saints, oh for three for for the dogs.
• 41:54
SPEAKER_03: Now, some of them were they had 30 second ones, which are always tough, so that makes a little bit of difference.
• 41:59
SPEAKER_03: Here's the interesting one, Danny, assists.
• 42:01
SPEAKER_03: And we talked about this, we disagree a little bit.
• 42:04
SPEAKER_03: Uh the Saints had 10 to 3 for Wingate, which kind of surprised me for Wingate, which does so well moving the ball and really do an assist.
• 42:16
SPEAKER_03: Now they didn't have a lot of things.
• 42:16
SPEAKER_01: One of the better assist teams in the country.
• 42:18
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 42:19
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 42:19
  SPEAKER_03: And I don't know, don't know if that was a difference.
• 42:22
SPEAKER_03: If if I'd love to talk to one of the coaches, talk to Coach Boyle and say, hey, was that, you know, the difference or not?
• 42:28
SPEAKER_03: You know, it was yeah.
• 42:28
  SPEAKER_03: Right.
• 42:29
SPEAKER_03: Or or would you, if you played that again, try, you know, I it's just interesting.
• 42:33
SPEAKER_03: It was just an interesting staff for me.
• 42:35
SPEAKER_01: You know, Kev, I'm I'm I'm from the school is like, I think the game, you know, it kind of makes itself.
• 42:42
SPEAKER_01: You know what I'm saying?
• 42:44
SPEAKER_01: The game, you the game, you can't do what you want to do sometimes.
• 42:50
SPEAKER_01: The game has to come to you.
• 42:51
SPEAKER_01: And how that game plays is how you play.
• 42:54
SPEAKER_01: Sometimes you're you get a lot of assists, and then sometimes, you know, you're playing an offense where you're getting looks and you take the shot, you know.
• 43:03
SPEAKER_03: I agree with that, but I think that maybe that just in my own mind is because I saw the stat after I had the thought watching the game of when they were being a little I felt a little impatient in the third and fourth.
• 43:16
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, well, I that when they got down three in the third, you saw like some impatience coming in.
• 43:22
SPEAKER_01: They're shooting early in the clock, you know.
• 43:24
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and that's when I think like not now.
• 43:28
SPEAKER_03: That may have nothing to do with that stat and assist in the end, right?
• 43:31
SPEAKER_03: That may have not, but that's kind of it almost it it started to validate what I thought I saw on the field, but that was only a small, once again, that wasn't the whole game either.
• 43:42
  SPEAKER_03: So, like, who knows?
• 43:43
SPEAKER_03: I may be making all this crap up.
• 43:44
SPEAKER_03: I'm just a guy with a on a podcast trying to talk about it.
• 43:47
  SPEAKER_01: You know what?
• 43:48
SPEAKER_01: You saw a stat, and you you know, and again, the the game dictates itself.
• 43:53
SPEAKER_01: I think a good coach would tell you that.
• 43:55
SPEAKER_01: Like, you know, you have a game plan going in.
• 43:58
SPEAKER_01: Hey, I'd like to be able to do this, we know.
• 44:00
SPEAKER_01: You like to do that.
• 44:01
SPEAKER_01: So we're gonna counter with this and we're gonna try that.
• 44:04
SPEAKER_01: Out of a timeout, we might run this or you know, life type of.
• 44:07
SPEAKER_01: So you go in with a plan.
• 44:09
SPEAKER_01: Sometimes that plan don't work.
• 44:10
  SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
• 44:11
SPEAKER_01: You know, like uh-oh, that plan don't work.
• 44:14
SPEAKER_01: You gotta have plan B.
• 44:16
SPEAKER_01: I saw what I saw a little bit different in in the offense.
• 44:19
SPEAKER_01: I just felt that, like you said, they were moving the ball wing gate, but they were patient with the ball.
• 44:27
SPEAKER_01: Not a lot of assists, but they were getting their looks.
• 44:30
SPEAKER_01: Limestone is going to probably win the national championship.
• 44:36
SPEAKER_01: That's how good they are.
• 44:37
SPEAKER_01: I've been saying it all year.
• 44:39
SPEAKER_01: I've been saying it all year.
• 44:40
  SPEAKER_01: I still, I, I, you know, that was a one-goal loss to Tampa.
• 44:44
SPEAKER_01: If there was two minutes left in that game instead of 20 seconds, it might have been a different story.
• 44:50
  SPEAKER_01: I'm telling you.
• 44:51
SPEAKER_01: I mean, that's how great that game was.
• 44:53
SPEAKER_01: And that's how good Limestone is.
• 44:55
SPEAKER_01: And now that the school is closing and all of these relationships are going to stop and change.
• 45:03
  SPEAKER_01: Man, that's that's an awful, that's an awful.
• 45:08
  SPEAKER_01: I wouldn't want to play limestone.
• 45:10
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I don't know what I mean.
• 45:12
  SPEAKER_01: I agree.
• 45:13
SPEAKER_01: They just they're on a mission now.
• 45:15
SPEAKER_01: They have And they got the team to do it.
• 45:18
  SPEAKER_01: They got multiple players.
• 45:19
  SPEAKER_01: Totally agree.
• 45:20
SPEAKER_01: They got multiple great players.
• 45:21
  SPEAKER_01: Their defense is stout.
• 45:23
SPEAKER_01: They're they're they're Corey Lions in goal is as good as anybody in the country.
• 45:27
  SPEAKER_01: He's, you know.
• 45:28
SPEAKER_03: And then they've got Salters.
• 45:29
SPEAKER_03: I mean, they've got two good goalies.
• 45:31
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 45:31
SPEAKER_01: Hey, uh, Lions didn't play a couple of weeks ago, and Salters had a great game.
• 45:37
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 45:38
SPEAKER_01: You know, so Limestone's great, man.
• 45:40
  SPEAKER_01: They're they're a great, they're a great team.
• 45:42
  SPEAKER_01: They're fun to watch.
• 45:43
SPEAKER_01: I've watched them a lot this year.
• 45:45
SPEAKER_01: I just like the way they play.
• 45:47
SPEAKER_01: I like the fast moving ball.
• 45:49
SPEAKER_01: I like when I like getting out in transition.
• 45:52
SPEAKER_01: I like that quick play.
• 45:53
SPEAKER_03: You know, that's just me.
• 45:55
SPEAKER_03: I said that last year when I watched them play.
• 45:57
SPEAKER_03: They love to create chaos, and they create chaos by their speed.
• 46:00
  SPEAKER_03: Hey, you know what?
• 46:02
  SPEAKER_01: Good coaches out there.
• 46:03
SPEAKER_01: If you're smart, you'd take a film on some limestone games and watch what they do on offense and try to do that.
• 46:11
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 46:11
SPEAKER_01: Because again, again, you have to have the talent.
• 46:14
SPEAKER_01: You have to, you know.
• 46:16
SPEAKER_01: Caden Onaggy had himself a game that night.
• 46:18
SPEAKER_01: That kid is really good.
• 46:20
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 46:20
SPEAKER_01: And then you got like Kaczynski, and then there's then Zach Terry and McGarry.
• 46:26
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 46:27
  SPEAKER_01: Go down the line.
• 46:28
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like, yeah.
• 46:29
  SPEAKER_01: Zach Terry, man.
• 46:30
SPEAKER_01: He could that boy complied, man.
• 46:32
  SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
• 46:34
SPEAKER_01: Tegan Kay, South Carolina boy.
• 46:38
  SPEAKER_03: Right there.
• 46:39
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 46:40
  SPEAKER_03: With Mr.
• 46:40
  SPEAKER_03: Farley.
• 46:41
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 46:41
SPEAKER_03: Who we're gonna have on later.
• 46:43
SPEAKER_03: And I have to point this out to everyone listening to it right now, if I forget later on.
• 46:48
SPEAKER_03: We recorded with Peyton earlier in the week.
• 46:53
  SPEAKER_03: On Tuesday.
• 46:54
SPEAKER_03: That was the only thing we did on Tuesday.
• 46:55
SPEAKER_03: So he hadn't even played the game against uh Coker yet, which they played last night.
• 47:01
SPEAKER_03: So there there'll be some things that you will hear that will be like, yeah, that's a little bit old.
• 47:09
SPEAKER_03: Well, it's only a couple days old, but that's what we're pointing out.
• 47:11
SPEAKER_03: We accorded a couple times.
• 47:13
  SPEAKER_01: So, you know what?
• 47:14
SPEAKER_01: Great game between two, you know, SAC foes, uh, two really, really good teams.
• 47:20
  SPEAKER_01: I know Wingate's ranked number 12th.
• 47:22
SPEAKER_01: I still think they're a better team than that.
• 47:23
SPEAKER_01: I'm, you know, I just look at their losses and who they lost to and how they lost, and I was like, hmm.
• 47:30
SPEAKER_01: So now Wingate gets the fifth seed in the sack, which is probably the lowest seed since I've been involved with with D2 lacrosse that Wingate's had in the sack tournament.
• 47:44
  SPEAKER_03: You're usually seeing them.
• 47:45
SPEAKER_03: Now they didn't have it last year, but usually they have a buy.
• 47:48
SPEAKER_03: They usually have a bye, or you know, they host the third.
• 47:51
SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
• 47:52
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 47:52
  SPEAKER_01: So here's the deal.
• 47:54
  SPEAKER_01: They gotta play Newberry.
• 47:57
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, let's we'll go through that.
• 47:58
SPEAKER_03: We'll go through those and and let's let's start that right now.
• 48:02
SPEAKER_01: Anyone who's ever taken a kid to a morning travel game knows how important that travel cup of coffee is.
• 48:08
SPEAKER_01: When it's important that coffee picture, no, don't forget how early it is.
• 49:28
SPEAKER_03: Games to watch this week.
• 49:29
SPEAKER_03: Before we get into the the the conference tournaments, there's one game we already talked about it, so we don't have to go through quickly that I'm looking at Saturday.
• 49:38
SPEAKER_03: It's Rockhurst against Lewis, because that's the seeding implications for number two.
• 49:43
SPEAKER_03: They're both they both have one loss.
• 49:46
SPEAKER_03: So that would be the number whoever wins that is the number two seed going into the GLBC tournament.
• 49:52
SPEAKER_03: If you want, Danny, let's go right to the sack then.
• 49:55
SPEAKER_03: Like you talked about, the sack and uh the quarters start the sack quarterfinals start on Saturday, and it's Newberry against Wingate, and then Lenore Ryan against Katawa.
• 50:08
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 50:09
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 50:10
  SPEAKER_03: What are you thinking?
• 50:11
SPEAKER_01: Um I think Lenore Ryan's gonna beat Katawba.
• 50:15
  SPEAKER_01: I agree.
• 50:16
SPEAKER_01: And I think Newberry and Wingate's gonna be another barn burner.
• 50:22
SPEAKER_01: I agree with that too.
• 50:24
SPEAKER_01: And um It's hard to beat a team twice, Kev, right?
• 50:28
SPEAKER_01: We say it all the time.
• 50:29
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 50:30
SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be at Newberry.
• 50:31
  SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be a night game.
• 50:33
SPEAKER_01: So I'm sure that there'll be a lot of people there.
• 50:36
SPEAKER_01: I'm sure it'll be a big, you know, kind of big game.
• 50:39
SPEAKER_01: Same kind of like, you know, atmosphere, playoff atmosphere.
• 50:44
SPEAKER_01: Um I mean, they were in a big game last night against Anderson.
• 50:49
SPEAKER_01: Uh Newberry came up short, three goals.
• 50:54
  SPEAKER_01: I mean I don't know.
• 50:57
  SPEAKER_03: I i I don't know what to say.
• 51:00
  SPEAKER_03: I really don't.
• 51:00
  SPEAKER_03: I I think this is a a pick'em the way they're playing.
• 51:03
SPEAKER_03: You look at how close Newber Newberry was leading a lot of that game against Anderson last night.
• 51:08
SPEAKER_03: Anderson, like you said, pulls it out by three.
• 51:11
SPEAKER_03: So that sack is a little bit tighter than it has been in years past.
• 51:14
SPEAKER_03: Lenore Ryan having a three seed, Wingate having a five seed, it's not something you see that often.
• 51:21
SPEAKER_03: And Newberry and Anderson being right in the mix all the time.
• 51:25
  SPEAKER_03: I I would call us a picking game.
• 51:27
SPEAKER_03: I'm almost gonna go with I gotta pick Wingate because I don't think you Wingate loses to Newberry two times in a row in the same season.
• 51:37
SPEAKER_01: I I again I it depends on if if Wingate can stay out of the out of the box, uh which they did a pretty good job of the other night.
• 51:47
SPEAKER_01: They did it or not.
• 51:48
  SPEAKER_03: They did.
• 51:49
SPEAKER_03: And I think the other thing is the same thing what happened with Newberry and Anderson and Limestone.
• 51:54
SPEAKER_03: They've got to keep it close.
• 51:55
SPEAKER_03: They can't get it to like a four-goal gap and be behind by four goals.
• 52:00
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you know, again, if Wingate can start out strong, start out fast, stay out of the box, I think they're gonna be tough, man.
• 52:08
SPEAKER_01: No, I I had limestone players talking to me after the game saying Wingate was tough, man.
• 52:12
SPEAKER_01: Like that was like one of the toughest games they've had all year.
• 52:15
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 52:16
SPEAKER_01: So like Wingate can play, you know, they've just been coming up short in some of these big games, you know.
• 52:20
SPEAKER_01: You have seasons like that.
• 52:21
SPEAKER_01: This has been their season that way.
• 52:23
SPEAKER_01: You know, 6v6, they're kind of like right there with all these teams, and then they go into the sin bin and give up two or three and then lose by one or two.
• 52:31
SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
• 52:32
SPEAKER_01: So if if Newberry can uh if you know Newberry's gonna have to play uh almost really good game.
• 52:39
SPEAKER_01: Again, they were in an exciting game last night.
• 52:42
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 52:42
SPEAKER_01: You know, how long was it?
• 52:44
SPEAKER_01: You know, it was late.
• 52:45
SPEAKER_01: It got raining, it was like a three-hour delay.
• 52:49
SPEAKER_01: I mean, it was sheets of rain.
• 52:50
SPEAKER_01: I didn't get to watch the end of it, but you know, can they can they bounce back in two days and and and have that energy for Saturday night?
• 52:58
SPEAKER_01: Because you know Wingate's coming, man.
• 53:00
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 53:01
  SPEAKER_01: You know?
• 53:02
  SPEAKER_01: Yep.
• 53:03
  SPEAKER_01: Hey, it's zero-zero, fellas.
• 53:04
SPEAKER_03: You know, that's that's and I think Newberry will be up for this game.
• 53:08
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I think they'll be up for this game, too.
• 53:10
SPEAKER_03: I think it's gonna be a really good game.
• 53:11
  SPEAKER_03: It'll be a really good game.
• 53:12
SPEAKER_03: Okay, let's move on to Conference Carolinas.
• 53:15
SPEAKER_03: Um on Tuesday, they had the quarterfinals.
• 53:19
SPEAKER_03: Mount Olive beat Young Harris 17-8.
• 53:21
  SPEAKER_03: Barton beat Emmanuel.
• 53:23
SPEAKER_03: Nice to see Emmanuel and Young Harris in the tournament 22-8.
• 53:27
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
• 53:27
SPEAKER_03: So now the semis are on Friday, and it's Mount Olive against Belmont Abbey and Barton against North Greenville.
• 53:36
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, North Greenville's gonna beat up Barton.
• 53:38
  SPEAKER_01: I think so too.
• 53:40
SPEAKER_01: And I think this Mount Olive has been playing a little better as of late, but I don't know.
• 53:46
  SPEAKER_03: I like Belmont Abbey.
• 53:48
SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna go with Belmont Abbey too.
• 53:49
  SPEAKER_03: I think look it.
• 53:51
SPEAKER_03: When they played each other in the regular season, we talked about this game, I thought it'd be closer.
• 53:55
SPEAKER_03: Belmont Abbey played them really well and took that game.
• 53:59
SPEAKER_03: So I think I think it's gonna be Belmont Abbey against North Greenville in the final on Sunday, the 27th.
• 54:07
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 54:08
  SPEAKER_03: North Greenville's undefeated.
• 54:12
  SPEAKER_01: What do you think?
• 54:13
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know, man.
• 54:15
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
• 54:16
SPEAKER_01: I'm I I'd like to like watch Belmont Abbey play in the tournament just to see how they go at it.
• 54:23
SPEAKER_01: You know, and North Greenville.
• 54:25
SPEAKER_01: It'll be interesting to watch them, but I don't know.
• 54:28
  SPEAKER_01: What do you think?
• 54:29
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know, man.
• 54:30
SPEAKER_03: I think this is another pick.
• 54:32
SPEAKER_03: You would say the way North Greenville's been playing this year in conference, you almost have to tip your hat to North Greenville.
• 54:39
SPEAKER_03: But I can't count out Belmont Abbey in a final.
• 54:44
SPEAKER_01: Coach Barrett's been there a long time.
• 54:46
  SPEAKER_01: Especially as the underdog.
• 54:48
SPEAKER_01: Coach Barrett's been there, done that.
• 54:50
SPEAKER_01: He's got a lot of pedigree under his belt.
• 54:53
SPEAKER_01: He's been in games like this before.
• 54:57
SPEAKER_01: You know, that's a fun one to watch.
• 54:59
SPEAKER_01: That's where coaching comes in, you know, where that coaching comes in.
• 55:03
  SPEAKER_01: So I don't know.
• 55:04
  SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be a pick'em.
• 55:05
  SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna say pick'em.
• 55:06
  SPEAKER_01: I agree with you.
• 55:07
  SPEAKER_03: I agree with you.
• 55:08
SPEAKER_03: All right, let's move on to Sunshine State.
• 55:11
  SPEAKER_03: Tampa beat Emmy Riddle.
• 55:13
SPEAKER_03: You talked about this 21-4.
• 55:15
SPEAKER_03: Rollins pulls out a win against Lynn.
• 55:19
SPEAKER_03: Was it an overtime, Danny?
• 55:21
SPEAKER_01: 12-11 or was it straight?
• 55:23
SPEAKER_01: Rollins beat Florida Tech first.
• 55:24
  SPEAKER_01: Right, right.
• 55:26
  SPEAKER_01: 13-5, yeah.
• 55:27
SPEAKER_01: Emory Riddle had beat St.
• 55:28
  SPEAKER_01: Leo, knocked St.
• 55:29
  SPEAKER_01: Leo out.
• 55:30
SPEAKER_01: Turns out John Rucci, their second highest scorer in St.
• 55:33
  SPEAKER_01: Leo, broke a leg.
• 55:34
  SPEAKER_03: So correct.
• 55:36
SPEAKER_03: And so let's talk about that for a second.
• 55:38
SPEAKER_03: I had that in other notes.
• 55:39
  SPEAKER_03: Interestingly, about St.
• 55:40
  SPEAKER_03: Leo and Rollins.
• 55:42
SPEAKER_03: Rollins had injuries early in the season, and you saw how they suffered.
• 55:48
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 55:48
  SPEAKER_03: But guess what?
• 55:49
SPEAKER_03: They had time to recoup.
• 55:52
  SPEAKER_03: Now, St.
• 55:52
SPEAKER_03: Leo lost Greg Palmer at the beginning of the season, but then they lost several players, not just John, but a couple others at the end of the season.
• 56:00
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 56:01
SPEAKER_03: And that you don't have time to recoup then.
• 56:03
SPEAKER_03: You know, when you lose your two best scorers, you know, it's tough.
• 56:08
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, especially.
• 56:08
SPEAKER_03: Well, Palmer wasn't with them all year.
• 56:10
  SPEAKER_03: You're right, you're right.
• 56:11
SPEAKER_01: But you know, just imagine what it would have been like if he was on the field with the game.
• 56:14
  SPEAKER_01: 100%.
• 56:15
SPEAKER_01: You know, it might have been a lot different for St.
• 56:16
  SPEAKER_01: Leo.
• 56:17
SPEAKER_01: But hey, uh, my hat's off to St.
• 56:19
SPEAKER_01: Leo because they had a great, great season.
• 56:22
SPEAKER_01: Just came up short at the end, those injury, that injury bug, you know, it's part of part of it.
• 56:28
SPEAKER_01: And Rollins felt it in the beginning of the season.
• 56:30
SPEAKER_01: They struggled a little bit early on, got those guys back, and were able to make a run.
• 56:35
SPEAKER_03: And they didn't get everyone back.
• 56:37
SPEAKER_03: They they you got to give them props for continuing to fight and then learn and get experience and get to the point where they're now in the final.
• 56:45
SPEAKER_03: I mean, if you look a lot of these teams in Sunshine State, look at Emmy Riddle.
• 56:49
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 56:50
SPEAKER_03: They seem to start off slow.
• 56:51
SPEAKER_03: They end up going to the semis against Tampa.
• 56:54
SPEAKER_03: Now that them beating Tampa was going to be a long shot, and it proved itself in the score.
• 56:59
SPEAKER_03: But then you look at a team like Lynn, same thing.
• 57:02
SPEAKER_03: They've struggled in past years.
• 57:04
SPEAKER_03: They bring in some transfers like Klosterman and and uh I forget the uh the offensive player from from Barton as well.
• 57:14
  SPEAKER_03: Uh Kaleri?
• 57:16
  SPEAKER_03: Kalari?
• 57:16
  SPEAKER_03: Uh Cowley.
• 57:18
  SPEAKER_03: No, yeah, Caleri.
• 57:20
  SPEAKER_03: Kalary.
• 57:21
SPEAKER_03: And and they have other pieces.
• 57:24
SPEAKER_03: And they they go to the semis and almost pull it off.
• 57:31
  SPEAKER_01: It's amazing what yeah.
• 57:34
  SPEAKER_01: Like again, tournament time.
• 57:36
  SPEAKER_01: Anything can happen.
• 57:37
SPEAKER_01: Again, Rollins beat Florida Tech.
• 57:38
  SPEAKER_01: Emery Riddle beat St.
• 57:40
SPEAKER_01: Leo, knocked those two teams out.
• 57:42
  SPEAKER_01: St.
• 57:42
SPEAKER_01: Leo was in the driver's seat a month ago.
• 57:44
SPEAKER_01: I predicted them to be in the Sunshine State Conference Championship.
• 57:48
SPEAKER_01: And then, you know, the injury bug caught him.
• 57:51
SPEAKER_01: Lynn was beating Rollins last night, and then Rollins came back, and then Lynn tied it, and then went up by two, and then Rollins came back and tied it, and then buried one at the end with like a minute and something left.
• 58:10
SPEAKER_01: And Rollins pulls out the the uh surprise.
• 58:13
SPEAKER_01: It was I would say it was kind of an upset in a in a way.
• 58:17
SPEAKER_01: I think Lynn was kind of like my rankings, yeah.
• 58:20
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 58:20
SPEAKER_01: Lynn would have been the favorite team.
• 58:22
SPEAKER_01: They were home, you know, and Rollins just didn't give up.
• 58:26
  SPEAKER_01: And you know what?
• 58:27
SPEAKER_01: The the last five, eight minutes of that game was as good as it gets, Kev.
• 58:33
  SPEAKER_01: It was good.
• 58:34
SPEAKER_01: It was high action, a lot of energy, you know.
• 58:37
SPEAKER_01: You know, it's like hey, we got five minutes.
• 58:41
  unknown: Yeah.
• 58:41
  SPEAKER_01: Boom, boom.
• 58:42
SPEAKER_01: With down one, boom, tie, boom, tie, boom, one for the other team, boom, two for the other team, boom, one back, boom, tie again.
• 58:49
SPEAKER_01: I was like, oh, this is great.
• 58:51
SPEAKER_01: And Rollins pulled it out.
• 58:52
SPEAKER_01: I was kind of unsurprised a little bit.
• 58:55
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 58:56
SPEAKER_01: But it was it was a fun game to watch.
• 58:58
SPEAKER_01: So now we got Tampa and Rollins.
• 59:02
  SPEAKER_03: On Saturday, the 26th.
• 59:04
  SPEAKER_03: For the championship.
• 59:07
  SPEAKER_03: Tampa?
• 59:09
SPEAKER_03: Like I said, Florida Southern brought him back.
• 59:11
SPEAKER_03: Does does Rollins have enough in their tank still to beat Tampa?
• 59:19
  SPEAKER_01: Good question.
• 59:20
  SPEAKER_01: I like Tampa.
• 59:20
SPEAKER_01: I mean, Tampa's been rolling along all year.
• 59:22
  SPEAKER_01: They're tough again.
• 59:24
  SPEAKER_01: Good goal.
• 59:25
  SPEAKER_01: I agree with you.
• 59:26
  SPEAKER_01: Good attack unit.
• 59:27
  SPEAKER_01: Good defense.
• 59:28
  SPEAKER_01: I agree with that.
• 59:29
  SPEAKER_01: Good face-off guy.
• 59:31
SPEAKER_01: You know, gets possessions in Florida.
• 59:33
SPEAKER_01: So it's gonna be tough to bet against the Tampa Spartans.
• 59:39
  SPEAKER_03: I agree.
• 59:40
SPEAKER_03: And so let's move on to Peach Belt.
• 59:43
SPEAKER_03: Semis are going on right now.
• 59:44
SPEAKER_03: We don't have a score of the Flagler Monavalo game.
• 59:48
SPEAKER_03: And we know that Lander won.
• 59:50
SPEAKER_03: So Lander will be playing either Flagler Monavalo Saturday, the 26th, in the Peach Belt final.
• 59:58
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so we can't even make a pick.
• 1:00:00
SPEAKER_03: Can't even make a pick because we don't know that.
• 1:00:02
SPEAKER_03: RMAC semis are going on.
• 1:00:06
SPEAKER_03: Right now it's tied with eight minutes left, 9-9, Concordia against Westminster, and then Dominican, Colorado Mesa.
• 1:00:15
SPEAKER_03: I I always think Colorado Mesa is gonna beat Dominican.
• 1:00:18
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 1:00:19
  SPEAKER_03: It's a I think it's a toss-up between CUI and Westminster.
• 1:00:23
SPEAKER_03: It looks that way right now, doesn't it?
• 1:00:25
SPEAKER_03: Concordia beat him twice this year.
• 1:00:27
  SPEAKER_03: It's 9-9 in the third, right?
• 1:00:29
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 1:00:30
  SPEAKER_03: Okay.
• 1:00:31
SPEAKER_03: And then they they have the final.
• 1:00:32
SPEAKER_03: And so you can't really Colorado Mesa.
• 1:00:34
SPEAKER_03: Colorado Mesa has, let's put it this way, Colorado Mesa, I think, has the easier game.
• 1:00:39
SPEAKER_03: They're the number one against the number four seed.
• 1:00:41
SPEAKER_03: They're probably going to come in a little bit fresher.
• 1:00:43
  SPEAKER_03: Right.
• 1:00:44
  SPEAKER_03: Two days later.
• 1:00:45
SPEAKER_03: So you I have to give the nod to Colorado Mesa in that final, regardless of who they play.
• 1:00:51
  SPEAKER_01: All right.
• 1:00:51
SPEAKER_01: So we can't even pick a winner in that intriguing conference matchup there.
• 1:00:58
SPEAKER_01: We can't, because they're just not there yet.
• 1:01:00
SPEAKER_01: We need to see who's there yet to make because I was saying flagler all along.
• 1:01:05
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 1:01:05
SPEAKER_01: I was like flaggler, flaggler, flaggler.
• 1:01:08
  SPEAKER_01: You know what?
• 1:01:08
SPEAKER_01: My heart still says flagler.
• 1:01:11
  SPEAKER_01: In a way.
• 1:01:12
  SPEAKER_01: In a way.
• 1:01:13
  SPEAKER_01: We see.
• 1:01:13
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 1:01:13
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 1:01:14
  SPEAKER_01: Let's go Saints.
• 1:01:15
  SPEAKER_01: Let's go, Saints.
• 1:01:16
  SPEAKER_01: Don't, don't, don't.
• 1:01:17
SPEAKER_01: I want to pat myself on the back next week.
• 1:01:20
  SPEAKER_03: This is Mr.
• 1:01:20
SPEAKER_03: Moran speaking to you right now.
• 1:01:22
  SPEAKER_01: Let's go, Coach Duncan.
• 1:01:23
  SPEAKER_01: Let's go rock.
• 1:01:24
  SPEAKER_01: Let's rock.
• 1:01:25
SPEAKER_01: No, that I I I've loved them all year.
• 1:01:28
SPEAKER_01: CUI is a great sleeper surprise team, if you ask me.
• 1:01:32
SPEAKER_01: Probably they're fun to watch.
• 1:01:34
SPEAKER_01: Probably the surprise team of the year, if you ask me.
• 1:01:38
  SPEAKER_01: I mean, and Flagler.
• 1:01:40
SPEAKER_01: I kind of knew Flagler was kind of getting there.
• 1:01:42
SPEAKER_01: I could say that they were getting there.
• 1:01:43
SPEAKER_03: I'll tell you another team that I think is a pleasant surprise.
• 1:01:48
SPEAKER_03: I think we saw a little bit coming, and that's in the NE10 quarters.
• 1:01:51
  SPEAKER_03: They're coming up.
• 1:01:52
  SPEAKER_03: Assumption against Bentley.
• 1:01:55
SPEAKER_03: And then pace against uh Southern New Hampshire on Saturday.
• 1:01:59
SPEAKER_03: Assumption is one of those that we talked about.
• 1:02:01
  SPEAKER_03: Dude, they're 10 and 3.
• 1:02:03
  SPEAKER_03: They're 10 and 3.
• 1:02:05
SPEAKER_03: They beat Bentley already once.
• 1:02:07
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 1:02:08
SPEAKER_03: 14-11 in the regular season.
• 1:02:10
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 1:02:10
SPEAKER_03: You have any predictions on this game?
• 1:02:12
  SPEAKER_01: Assumption.
• 1:02:13
SPEAKER_01: I like assumption in this game.
• 1:02:14
SPEAKER_01: Bentley's going to be tough.
• 1:02:15
  SPEAKER_01: Coach G, don't don't don't get mad at me.
• 1:02:19
  unknown: Yeah.
• 1:02:21
  SPEAKER_01: I know.
• 1:02:22
  SPEAKER_01: I know.
• 1:02:22
  SPEAKER_01: Love that guy.
• 1:02:23
SPEAKER_03: I love I I'll tell you, I almost feel like this is probably a pick'em for me, only because I think, once again, beating Bentley twice, assumption to be able to do that.
• 1:02:34
SPEAKER_03: Now they're probably playing Assumption.
• 1:02:37
  SPEAKER_03: It's tough.
• 1:02:38
SPEAKER_01: Assumption's boat is filled with, you know, their sails are filled.
• 1:02:41
SPEAKER_01: You know, they're they're playing with house money.
• 1:02:44
SPEAKER_01: You know what I'm saying?
• 1:02:45
  SPEAKER_01: You're right.
• 1:02:45
SPEAKER_01: They got nothing to lose.
• 1:02:46
SPEAKER_01: They're going to throw everything but the kitchen sink out there.
• 1:02:49
SPEAKER_01: I think Bentley's going to have a tough day, and I think Assumption's going to come out with the win.
• 1:02:53
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 1:02:54
  SPEAKER_01: Could you imagine that?
• 1:02:55
  SPEAKER_01: Holy crap.
• 1:02:57
SPEAKER_01: We wouldn't have that wasn't even a thought in the beginning of the season.
• 1:03:02
  SPEAKER_03: Pace, Southern New Hampshire.
• 1:03:05
SPEAKER_03: You got to give it to Pace.
• 1:03:06
  SPEAKER_03: Pace.
• 1:03:06
  SPEAKER_03: Pace.
• 1:03:07
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 1:03:07
SPEAKER_03: So then we'll move on for that.
• 1:03:08
SPEAKER_03: So then GMAC first round is Northwood on Saturday.
• 1:03:14
  SPEAKER_03: Northwood against Walsh.
• 1:03:16
  SPEAKER_03: How about Northwood, huh?
• 1:03:18
SPEAKER_03: First year program in the tournament.
• 1:03:23
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, good for you guys.
• 1:03:25
  SPEAKER_03: That's awesome.
• 1:03:26
SPEAKER_03: I don't care what the score is.
• 1:03:28
  SPEAKER_03: They're going against Walsh.
• 1:03:29
SPEAKER_03: I'd probably pick Walsh in that game.
• 1:03:30
SPEAKER_03: I'm going to pick Walsh in that game.
• 1:03:32
  SPEAKER_03: They're the Timberwolves, right?
• 1:03:34
  SPEAKER_03: The Timberwolves.
• 1:03:35
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that is great.
• 1:03:36
  SPEAKER_03: Timberwolves.
• 1:03:40
SPEAKER_03: And then Davenport against Wheeling is the other game.
• 1:03:44
SPEAKER_03: How about Lake Erie taking the second?
• 1:03:47
  SPEAKER_01: The second seed.
• 1:03:48
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 1:03:49
SPEAKER_01: They beat Tiffin in 6-3 last week.
• 1:03:52
  SPEAKER_03: Crazy low-scoring game.
• 1:03:54
SPEAKER_01: Our boy Gavin Conlin, who we had on the program, had his best game in his career.
• 1:03:59
SPEAKER_01: He was 77% to something like that in goal.
• 1:04:01
  SPEAKER_01: That's awesome.
• 1:04:02
  SPEAKER_01: That's awesome.
• 1:04:03
SPEAKER_01: I don't think he saw a lot of shots, it looks like, in the 6-3 game, but you never know.
• 1:04:08
  SPEAKER_01: You never know.
• 1:04:08
SPEAKER_01: I didn't watch the game, but congratulations to Lake Erie, man.
• 1:04:12
SPEAKER_01: Good again, they struggled a little bit in the beginning of the season, kind of came on a little bit stronger towards the end of the season.
• 1:04:20
SPEAKER_03: They will play Northwood Walsh uh winner, and then Seton Hill will play the Davenport Wheeling winner.
• 1:04:26
SPEAKER_03: Any thoughts on like between Davenport and Wheeling winning?
• 1:04:30
  SPEAKER_03: Any thoughts?
• 1:04:31
  SPEAKER_03: No.
• 1:04:32
  SPEAKER_03: These two.
• 1:04:33
  SPEAKER_01: They're close.
• 1:04:35
SPEAKER_01: I don't know what to say between Davenport and and and Wheeling.
• 1:04:40
  SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna pick Wheeling.
• 1:04:43
  SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna pick Wheeling.
• 1:04:44
  SPEAKER_03: Hey, come on, boys.
• 1:04:45
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, I'd like to see it.
• 1:04:47
  SPEAKER_03: I I like both teams.
• 1:04:49
SPEAKER_03: You know, Davenport's have had some good seasons before their younger program.
• 1:04:53
SPEAKER_03: Wheeling is climbing back up.
• 1:04:55
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they're at five, they're 500, 6-6, and 5-3.
• 1:04:58
SPEAKER_01: They're both five and three in the conference.
• 1:05:02
SPEAKER_01: So they couldn't be any closer as far as you know seatings are concerned.
• 1:05:06
  SPEAKER_01: I think I'm gonna take Wheeling.
• 1:05:09
  SPEAKER_01: There you go.
• 1:05:10
  SPEAKER_03: There you go.
• 1:05:10
  SPEAKER_03: What about you?
• 1:05:11
SPEAKER_03: I'm gonna go with Wheeling also, and I'm gonna go with Walsh against Northwood.
• 1:05:17
SPEAKER_01: Oh, before we go on, then they gotta play Seton Hill and lose.
• 1:05:22
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 1:05:23
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, exactly.
• 1:05:24
  SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
• 1:06:07
SPEAKER_03: Let's turn uh to the game of the week, Danny.
• 1:06:11
SPEAKER_03: This uh is not a conference tournament game, it's the last game in conference play.
• 1:06:19
  SPEAKER_03: Mercy against Malloy.
• 1:06:21
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
• 1:06:22
  SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be a great game.
• 1:06:24
SPEAKER_01: I think it's a perfect game of the week for us.
• 1:06:26
SPEAKER_01: And again, it's not a toilet day in the season.
• 1:06:29
  SPEAKER_01: It's a conference game.
• 1:06:30
SPEAKER_01: It's the last game for each of them.
• 1:06:32
SPEAKER_01: They're both undefeated in conference, and winner of that game is gonna get that one seed and probably have to play each other again.
• 1:06:42
SPEAKER_03: I would agree with that too.
• 1:06:45
SPEAKER_03: Uh look at Mercy lost to a Delphi, Bentley, and St.
• 1:06:48
  SPEAKER_03: A's, high quality teams.
• 1:06:50
SPEAKER_03: Malloy lost to Pace, Flagler, and by one.
• 1:06:54
  SPEAKER_03: Flagler by one.
• 1:06:57
  SPEAKER_01: Um I like Malloy.
• 1:07:00
SPEAKER_01: I like Malloy because they have one of the better goalies in the country.
• 1:07:04
  SPEAKER_01: Christian Michaels.
• 1:07:05
SPEAKER_01: Um Dan Dorfman's good too, but Christian Michaels has been playing lights out this year.
• 1:07:10
SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he has been great.
• 1:07:11
SPEAKER_01: And um uh I think it's Coach Dunn's year for that, you know, the ECC.
• 1:07:16
SPEAKER_01: I just again as good as Murphy is, and they're a good team.
• 1:07:20
SPEAKER_01: It's Oreo and those boys.
• 1:07:22
  SPEAKER_01: Duchnowski, right?
• 1:07:23
  SPEAKER_01: He's there up there.
• 1:07:24
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, and then you but then you got guys like Luke Hickham and and you know, they've got a lot of that's Malloy, yeah.
• 1:07:31
SPEAKER_03: They got the Malloy's side, that's what I'm saying.
• 1:07:32
  SPEAKER_03: On Malloy's side.
• 1:07:33
SPEAKER_03: So it's like uh who's I think it's who whatever D really steps up.
• 1:07:40
SPEAKER_03: I know the goalie, and I'm gonna give them I just think it's I agree with you, it's Malloy's year.
• 1:07:46
SPEAKER_03: I think they are poised this year.
• 1:07:47
SPEAKER_03: This is the year for them to take on Mercy and beat him.
• 1:07:50
SPEAKER_01: And they've been in some tough games, you know, and they've played they played well, you know.
• 1:07:54
SPEAKER_01: They they haven't gotten blown out at all, really.
• 1:07:57
SPEAKER_01: And they're they're just a solid team all the way around.
• 1:07:59
SPEAKER_01: Good defense, good offense, well coached, really good goalie.
• 1:08:04
  SPEAKER_01: They're they're face-off guys, a tough sum bitch.
• 1:08:07
SPEAKER_01: He gets he's out there busting chops, he's good, man.
• 1:08:10
SPEAKER_01: So I'm gonna say, I'm gonna take Malloy.
• 1:08:15
  SPEAKER_01: I think it's gonna be a close game.
• 1:08:17
  SPEAKER_01: I think it's gonna be a well-played game.
• 1:08:18
SPEAKER_01: Wouldn't surprise me to see Murphy go out to a lead.
• 1:08:22
SPEAKER_01: You know, let's say overtime.
• 1:08:26
  SPEAKER_01: Right?
• 1:08:26
  SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
• 1:08:27
SPEAKER_01: It's that important of a game for both of them.
• 1:08:29
SPEAKER_01: That's their biggest, it's their biggest game for the season for both teams.
• 1:09:38
SPEAKER_03: Like the intro said, Danny, another player spotlight.
• 1:09:42
  SPEAKER_03: My favorite part, Kev.
• 1:09:44
  SPEAKER_03: My favorite part.
• 1:09:45
  SPEAKER_03: I hear ya.
• 1:09:46
  SPEAKER_03: I hear you.
• 1:09:47
SPEAKER_03: You know, we usually spend most of our time talking about with the player about his on-field prowess.
• 1:09:55
SPEAKER_03: And we could certainly do that tonight with this player.
• 1:10:00
SPEAKER_03: But you actually shouted out this player a couple weeks ago for what he did off the field.
• 1:10:04
SPEAKER_03: And we thought we thought we talked about this after you did the shout-out off podcast.
• 1:10:10
SPEAKER_03: What a selfless thing he did, and what a great story it was that we wanted to bring him on here, bring more light to it through the player spotlight, and let other people know.
• 1:10:21
SPEAKER_03: If they haven't seen everything like the spot on lacrosse network, I'm really pissed they beat us to it, Danny, by the way.
• 1:10:27
SPEAKER_03: But lacrosse network and others about this.
• 1:10:30
SPEAKER_03: Um, so let's just welcome him in.
• 1:10:32
SPEAKER_03: Peyton Farley, D poll for the Wingate Bulldogs.
• 1:10:35
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, Peyton.
• 1:10:37
SPEAKER_01: Hold on, hold on, hold on.
• 1:10:40
  SPEAKER_01: Hold on.
• 1:10:42
  SPEAKER_01: Train coming.
• 1:10:44
  SPEAKER_00: There it is.
• 1:10:46
SPEAKER_01: Diesel train is coming and he's here.
• 1:10:48
SPEAKER_01: Peyton Farley, the poll for Wingate.
• 1:10:51
  SPEAKER_01: How you doing, buddy?
• 1:10:52
SPEAKER_01: Thank you so much for taking the thank you so much for taking the time out of study hall tonight to come down and talk to us.
• 1:10:58
  SPEAKER_01: He's laughing.
• 1:10:59
  SPEAKER_01: He's laughing.
• 1:11:01
SPEAKER_01: We appreciate you coming on.
• 1:11:03
  SPEAKER_00: Oh, it's great.
• 1:11:05
  SPEAKER_03: Let's start off with a story.
• 1:11:06
SPEAKER_03: The way I understand your cousin is battling leukemia, and you left your wingate team to take the time to find stem cells for his treatment.
• 1:11:16
SPEAKER_03: Can you walk us through like how that actually started, what the process was like?
• 1:11:20
SPEAKER_03: Did everyone in your family get tested to see if they were matches, how you found out, and just kind of walk us through how you got to leaving your team to do this?
• 1:11:30
  SPEAKER_00: Right, yeah.
• 1:11:31
SPEAKER_00: So, you know, he got diagnosed with leukemia early early January.
• 1:11:35
SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, it was terrible, terrible time to hear that.
• 1:11:39
SPEAKER_00: But um, you know, right off the bat, everyone started to test their blood type throughout our family to see if we were matched.
• 1:11:46
SPEAKER_00: So it started off with his siblings, um, his sister and uh brother, um, that were both negative.
• 1:11:54
SPEAKER_00: And so then it just, you know, kindly just worked down the family tree to my mom, who was uh this wasn't 100% match, but it said it was a match to where we all of her kids, my mother's kids, or my mother uh and my siblings could all uh you know go out and get tested and see if we're for a match for Ryan.
• 1:12:13
SPEAKER_00: And so we all go out, get our blood tested, and uh we c it took about a week and a half and it came back, and um my sister was the first one to come back and she was negative.
• 1:12:25
SPEAKER_00: And so we're like hoping like, all right, maybe me or my brother could be a perfect match, and and my brothers came back and was negative.
• 1:12:32
SPEAKER_00: We're like, all right, one last try, and it came back to me, and you know, 100% match, and that was uh you know, a big bright light.
• 1:12:40
SPEAKER_03: Wow, what was that like and what were you thinking when you heard you were a match?
• 1:12:46
SPEAKER_00: Uh you know, it it was you know kind of a grace from God, um, a little miracle, and you know, just from the heavens.
• 1:12:53
SPEAKER_00: And uh it was it was a really big I was like honored to be a match and you know help Ryan throughout this process and hopefully get him that this uh the white blood cells to to really uh fight this this horrible leukaemia that he has.
• 1:13:07
SPEAKER_00: And um I just you know loved every m minute of it and was glad that I was able to uh help him through this process.
• 1:13:14
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, the the pictures are great.
• 1:13:15
  SPEAKER_03: How old is Ryan?
• 1:13:17
  SPEAKER_00: He's 34.
• 1:13:18
  SPEAKER_01: 34.
• 1:13:21
SPEAKER_01: What happened what happened that made him think that something was wrong, or did he just go for like a regular checkup or something and they found it?
• 1:13:28
  SPEAKER_01: Or Right.
• 1:13:29
SPEAKER_00: So yeah, he was uh film a little under the weather um like late late December and he went in went into work one day and he said he just laid on the ground and just was just a hot mess.
• 1:13:41
SPEAKER_00: He said he's he said he didn't feel well at all or anything, and so he went to go check to see if like he thought he had vertigo, vertigo.
• 1:13:50
SPEAKER_00: And uh he went to go check and they said no, he's got a a serious case of uh leukemia, and uh you know kind of took a little toll on the family, but um you know it all it's all working out well so far.
• 1:14:03
SPEAKER_01: So what was the procedure like to get the stem cells?
• 1:14:07
SPEAKER_01: What was that procedure like?
• 1:14:09
  SPEAKER_00: Right, yeah.
• 1:14:09
SPEAKER_00: So it was in Charleston, we went down there, I had to get a series of shots uh for four days.
• 1:14:15
SPEAKER_00: So I went down there Thursday, Thursday night got shots, and um it's just a shot that boosts up your uh stem cells, basically.
• 1:14:24
SPEAKER_00: And um and so it got got to the got to Monday when the procedure was done, and there's this you know, you know, fancy hospital machine that Lord knows how expensive that is.
• 1:14:35
  SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 1:14:36
SPEAKER_00: I don't know if you saw in the pictures, but there's um like you know, through the jugular vein, they took out um blood, obviously, and it circulated through the machine, and on it the machine can precisely take out the stem cells.
• 1:14:50
SPEAKER_00: So like in your red blood cells, there's a you know, red blood cell, white blood cell underneath, and then right in between is your stem cells.
• 1:14:57
SPEAKER_00: And so that machine knows how to perfectly pick out those and just extract those and it circulates the blood right back into my body like I never, like I never left.
• 1:15:05
SPEAKER_03: There's uh I had a procedure like that several times called aphoresis, what they when they separated my white blood cells from my red blood cells, and they're putting my red blood cells back into me.
• 1:15:16
SPEAKER_03: Same thing, other arm, yeah, out one arm, back in the other.
• 1:15:20
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, it wasn't wasn't too bad.
• 1:15:22
SPEAKER_00: I was sitting there in a chair for you know seven hours, yeah.
• 1:15:27
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it was yeah, it was.
• 1:15:29
  SPEAKER_00: There's a muscle.
• 1:15:30
  SPEAKER_00: Let's do it.
• 1:15:30
  SPEAKER_01: What happens after that?
• 1:15:32
  SPEAKER_01: Sorry, Kev.
• 1:15:33
  SPEAKER_01: What happens after that?
• 1:15:34
SPEAKER_01: Now the stem cells come out of your body, goes through this machine, recirculates the blood back into your body.
• 1:15:41
SPEAKER_01: What do they do with the stem cells at that point?
• 1:15:43
SPEAKER_01: Is it go right to him right away, or is it going to talk about that?
• 1:15:48
  SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
• 1:15:49
  SPEAKER_00: Right, yeah.
• 1:15:50
SPEAKER_00: So they uh so it was collecting an IV bag, obviously.
• 1:15:54
SPEAKER_00: Um, but every three hours they would come and test it and take it to the labs and make like get it like a exact uh still stem cell count to like see how much they have.
• 1:16:05
SPEAKER_00: And so um, yeah, so once they finished all that up, they said at 25 million, it's probably the most they've ever had in the hospital.
• 1:16:12
SPEAKER_00: The doctor told me that's the most he's ever seen in 44 years.
• 1:16:17
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so basically setting records, setting records there.
• 1:16:20
  SPEAKER_00: Um yeah.
• 1:16:21
  SPEAKER_00: That's good.
• 1:16:22
  SPEAKER_03: All American stem cell.
• 1:16:26
  SPEAKER_00: Yep.
• 1:16:27
SPEAKER_00: See that adding awards to it, yeah.
• 1:16:30
SPEAKER_01: So now go ahead, go ahead.
• 1:16:31
  SPEAKER_01: Come on.
• 1:16:32
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so uh they when they went to go take out my my uh jugular vein, this little catheter, within that hour after I finished up.
• 1:16:40
SPEAKER_00: I mean, they basically hooked them all up to those stem cells and basically immediately after the process attached them to those stem cells.
• 1:16:48
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so it was really cool.
• 1:16:50
SPEAKER_00: And they only gave him um they started him off with five million stem cells, so he he has twenty million in reserve.
• 1:17:00
SPEAKER_01: Would you have to do that again, maybe?
• 1:17:02
SPEAKER_01: Was is that a possibility?
• 1:17:04
  SPEAKER_00: No, no.
• 1:17:05
SPEAKER_00: See that that was the good thing.
• 1:17:06
SPEAKER_00: They said sometimes um people would have to come back and donate more because they don't have enough, but they said 25 million is more than enough.
• 1:17:15
  SPEAKER_00: Okay, great.
• 1:17:16
  SPEAKER_00: So yeah.
• 1:17:18
  SPEAKER_03: What a story, man.
• 1:17:19
SPEAKER_03: And how is Ryan doing now?
• 1:17:21
  SPEAKER_03: He's doing well.
• 1:17:23
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so we actually just got word back from the doctors on Monday that his platelets um are going up now.
• 1:17:31
SPEAKER_00: So the white blood cells are reproducing and multiplying, and his numbers as of a week ago today were 0.0, and as of today they're 0.9, which is a huge increase in uh his white blood cell count, which is awesome.
• 1:17:45
SPEAKER_00: So it's starting to heal like some of the he's got some sores in his mouth, so it's starting to heal that up, and you know, just getting his immunity system back.
• 1:17:53
  SPEAKER_00: Uh that's normal.
• 1:17:54
  SPEAKER_03: That's awesome.
• 1:17:55
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that is awesome.
• 1:17:56
SPEAKER_03: That's no, now so we we we we talked about this.
• 1:17:59
  SPEAKER_03: We talked about it.
• 1:18:00
SPEAKER_03: You the shots were on Thursday, you couldn't do anything until the procedure on Monday.
• 1:18:06
SPEAKER_03: I saw a picture of you smack dab in front of a TV screen watching your Wingate Bulldogs playing a game.
• 1:18:16
SPEAKER_03: What was that like for you to not be in the game, be somewhere else and watching it on screen as your teammates are playing?
• 1:18:25
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that that was a that was a surreal experience.
• 1:18:28
SPEAKER_00: It was uh obviously weird because you know you're so used to a schedule, you know, going through the week, practicing, film, getting ready for this game this week.
• 1:18:38
SPEAKER_00: But um, and it's funny because I I helped out with the scout team that week on uh for the offensive side.
• 1:18:44
SPEAKER_00: So I was playing a little bit of defense for them um to get them ready.
• 1:18:48
SPEAKER_00: But yeah, it was a super weird experience to see the the fellas get it done at LMU.
• 1:18:54
SPEAKER_00: But um, it was awesome.
• 1:18:55
SPEAKER_00: And I saw them come out with orange tape on their helmets and I broke down the tears.
• 1:19:00
SPEAKER_00: It was it was amazing.
• 1:19:01
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
• 1:19:02
SPEAKER_01: The Bulldogs are a special team, man.
• 1:19:04
SPEAKER_01: They they're like family, you know, and like even like at the limestone game the other night, just what Coach Boyle did during their seniors, you know, while their senior day was going on, we kind of stepped over to the side and let them do their thing.
• 1:19:17
  SPEAKER_01: It's just the Bulldogs are it's it's a special place, Wingate.
• 1:19:21
  SPEAKER_01: It really is, right?
• 1:19:23
  SPEAKER_00: Absolutely, yeah.
• 1:19:24
SPEAKER_00: You know, it's filled with brothers, you know, brothers that you have for the rest of your life.
• 1:19:27
SPEAKER_00: And you know, bet called best friends uh that will be at my wedding, everything.
• 1:19:32
SPEAKER_00: Um I love to call my boys my brothers, so I mean there's they'll do anything for you, they'll they'll have your back.
• 1:19:38
SPEAKER_00: And it's a great feeling to have.
• 1:19:40
SPEAKER_01: Did you just say wedding?
• 1:19:43
  SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah.
• 1:19:44
  SPEAKER_00: In the future.
• 1:19:46
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 1:19:46
  SPEAKER_01: I was like, he's a planner.
• 1:19:48
  SPEAKER_00: He's a planner.
• 1:19:49
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, lifelong brothers.
• 1:19:52
  SPEAKER_00: You got 'em.
• 1:19:53
  SPEAKER_00: No, that's great.
• 1:19:54
  SPEAKER_00: That's great.
• 1:19:55
SPEAKER_03: All right, so you're how's your senior year been?
• 1:19:58
  SPEAKER_00: It's been flying by.
• 1:19:59
SPEAKER_00: I'm just trying to tell myself to slow it down.
• 1:20:02
  SPEAKER_00: Um It's tough.
• 1:20:04
  SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it is.
• 1:20:04
SPEAKER_00: I'm like, come on, time, slow down.
• 1:20:08
SPEAKER_00: And you know, two two games guaranteed for the rest of my season.
• 1:20:12
SPEAKER_00: So, you know, gotta take take every game one at a time, uh, go full force, play every game like it's la your last.
• 1:20:18
SPEAKER_00: Which basically after Saturday it is.
• 1:20:21
SPEAKER_00: So yeah, lock in for that, yeah.
• 1:20:23
  SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
• 1:20:24
SPEAKER_03: So what are your plans after graduation?
• 1:20:28
SPEAKER_00: Um, so obviously I wanna stay around this area, but I have been talking to a company called Daimler that I had an internship with last last year, last summer.
• 1:20:39
SPEAKER_00: And um, so hopefully uh an opportunity comes across with uh with that company.
• 1:20:44
SPEAKER_00: So I've been keeping in contact.
• 1:20:46
SPEAKER_00: I mean they said they got a few jobs open job openings and maybe some internships, so hopefully fall into the spot and uh go from there.
• 1:20:53
  SPEAKER_01: What kind of work?
• 1:20:54
  SPEAKER_01: What field?
• 1:20:56
  SPEAKER_00: Uh so it's it's a Freightliner.
• 1:20:58
SPEAKER_00: So they'll they own Freightliner, Thomas, buses, Western Star, and um I did a bunch of like market research, marketing, you know, data analysis, all all sorts of uh you know, business for them.
• 1:21:11
SPEAKER_00: It was it was a really cool experience.
• 1:21:12
SPEAKER_00: I mean I I learned a lot through that internship alone that has taught me, you know, key aspects that you need to know in the work field.
• 1:21:20
  SPEAKER_01: Right.
• 1:21:20
  SPEAKER_01: Interesting.
• 1:21:21
SPEAKER_01: And you said you'd like to stay in the Charlotte area, huh?
• 1:21:24
  SPEAKER_00: Correct, yeah.
• 1:21:24
SPEAKER_00: I mean, beautiful weather down here, you can't ask for much more.
• 1:21:27
SPEAKER_00: Plus, you got family down here, it's always good to see them.
• 1:21:30
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's it's a cool town, man.
• 1:21:31
  SPEAKER_01: I like Charlotte a lot.
• 1:21:32
  SPEAKER_01: I love it, actually.
• 1:21:34
SPEAKER_01: I mean, from where I'm coming from, and I go to Charlotte, it was like it was in the 80s.
• 1:21:38
SPEAKER_01: I just didn't even want to come home.
• 1:21:41
SPEAKER_01: I'd be honest with you, I didn't want to come home.
• 1:21:44
SPEAKER_01: I love it down there.
• 1:21:44
  SPEAKER_01: I I really do.
• 1:21:46
SPEAKER_01: And hey, my son Sean, he graduated and never came home.
• 1:21:50
  SPEAKER_01: He stayed in Charlotte.
• 1:21:51
SPEAKER_01: He's got his boys, all Wingate boys, you know, all guys that he played, you know, with and went to war with.
• 1:21:58
SPEAKER_01: And some are older and some are younger, but they're all together, man.
• 1:22:02
SPEAKER_01: It's pretty pretty cool thing.
• 1:22:03
SPEAKER_01: They have a cool group, you know, and they're all together.
• 1:22:06
SPEAKER_01: They're at they come to the home games, they come to the crown, you know.
• 1:22:12
  SPEAKER_01: It's a good bunch of guys.
• 1:22:13
SPEAKER_01: And you know, Wingate and Coach Boyle kind of does that.
• 1:22:16
SPEAKER_01: He it's just it's so family-oriented how how he has these teams.
• 1:22:22
  SPEAKER_01: I I can't even describe it.
• 1:22:23
SPEAKER_01: I mean, just everybody that I've spoken to that has graduated talks so much about Coach Boyle and how he's such a family guy.
• 1:22:31
SPEAKER_01: And I mean, I had a player tell me he was like a father figure to me, that he taught me how to be a man.
• 1:22:38
SPEAKER_01: That's what one player said about Coach Boyle.
• 1:22:41
SPEAKER_01: How many guys would even say that?
• 1:22:43
SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
• 1:22:44
SPEAKER_01: Like, you know, he taught me to be a man, you know.
• 1:22:47
SPEAKER_01: So I I mean, just all the accolades and that he's got and everything with Wingate.
• 1:22:52
SPEAKER_01: So we've got a couple of games left.
• 1:22:55
SPEAKER_01: We got more than two, kid.
• 1:22:57
SPEAKER_01: I'll tell you that right now.
• 1:22:58
SPEAKER_01: We got more than two.
• 1:22:59
SPEAKER_01: Don't put that into your head, all right?
• 1:23:01
SPEAKER_01: So let me ask you a question.
• 1:23:03
SPEAKER_01: How'd you get started in lacrosse?
• 1:23:05
SPEAKER_01: Because South Carolina, where you're from, Teagan K, right?
• 1:23:09
  SPEAKER_00: Yep.
• 1:23:10
SPEAKER_01: Um, you know, not known for its lacrosse, you know what I'm saying?
• 1:23:14
SPEAKER_01: So how'd you get started in lacrosse?
• 1:23:17
  SPEAKER_00: Right, yeah.
• 1:23:18
  SPEAKER_00: So funny story.
• 1:23:18
SPEAKER_00: Uh I mean, I was a big football guy.
• 1:23:20
SPEAKER_00: I wanted to play football, you know, throughout college, everything.
• 1:23:24
SPEAKER_00: Um, but uh one of my brother's best friends uh played lacrosse and um his older brother was on the high school team at the time.
• 1:23:33
SPEAKER_00: And I was like, what is that thing?
• 1:23:34
SPEAKER_00: It's it was lacrosse stick.
• 1:23:36
SPEAKER_00: I was like, let me let me give it a try.
• 1:23:38
SPEAKER_00: And you know, played around with it for about a week and felt felt a little bit of interest, and there was a little club club team going around in the uh area.
• 1:23:46
SPEAKER_00: Tried that out, found really good interest.
• 1:23:49
SPEAKER_00: I I really wanted to play attack, but then you know, coach put coach put a pull in my hands immediately and uh you know never looked back.
• 1:23:57
SPEAKER_01: That was a smart coach, man.
• 1:23:59
SPEAKER_01: He knew what he was doing.
• 1:24:00
SPEAKER_01: How how old were you?
• 1:24:02
SPEAKER_00: That was probably seventh, eighth grade, right there.
• 1:24:06
  SPEAKER_00: Wow.
• 1:24:07
SPEAKER_03: So then how did you get recruited to Wingate?
• 1:24:11
  SPEAKER_00: Um, so yes.
• 1:24:12
  SPEAKER_00: I mean it was Wingate's local.
• 1:24:14
  SPEAKER_00: I mean, I'm 40 minutes from home.
• 1:24:16
SPEAKER_00: So, you know, I reached out to a bunch of local local colleges, so I was Queens, you know, pretty much all the SAC schools.
• 1:24:23
SPEAKER_00: Well Queens at when they were in the SAC at the time.
• 1:24:25
  SPEAKER_04: Right.
• 1:24:26
SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, LR, Wingate.
• 1:24:28
SPEAKER_00: I mean, I I've heard such great things and I've heard a lot of people love it from all these programs.
• 1:24:34
SPEAKER_00: So I reached out and, you know, talked with Coach Boyle and you know, found a strong interest in this school because he he sounded like he's such a genuine guy, which he is, and you know, looked back and looking back now, I've I was so glad I chose this school.
• 1:24:49
SPEAKER_00: And um was glad that I was able to come here and you know do what I can do.
• 1:24:55
SPEAKER_01: And what you do, you do it well.
• 1:24:57
SPEAKER_01: Most better better better than most defensemen in the country.
• 1:25:01
SPEAKER_03: Since your freshman year, I want to point out, you once you got on the field and started, there was no one taking that spot away from you.
• 1:25:10
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, that's what is amazing.
• 1:25:11
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I made sure that I was I was like, when I go on the field, I'm gonna go to the show.
• 1:25:15
  SPEAKER_03: There you go, kid.
• 1:25:17
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it was the Barton game.
• 1:25:18
SPEAKER_00: I remember remember it to this day.
• 1:25:19
SPEAKER_00: I was probably the last one in the line on the sideline.
• 1:25:22
SPEAKER_00: Coach Boy looks down the the line and says, Peyton, you're going.
• 1:25:26
SPEAKER_00: I was like, I was like, I was like, is he talking to me?
• 1:25:29
  SPEAKER_00: He's like he's like, Yeah.
• 1:25:30
SPEAKER_00: So you go in there, because I think we were we were struggling a little bit that can't that early on in that game.
• 1:25:35
SPEAKER_00: And um, so he I think well we had such a young defense at the time, you know.
• 1:25:38
SPEAKER_00: You had Nicarino that left earlier that fall.
• 1:25:41
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and then we had Birdie Baker that was a sophomore at the time, you know.
• 1:25:45
SPEAKER_00: We still had a young defense, so he was just probably just trying out things, and you know, I went on the field and never looked back and you know, gave it all my all.
• 1:25:52
SPEAKER_00: And I got my first start at that Merceris, so it was awesome.
• 1:25:55
  SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
• 1:25:56
SPEAKER_01: I've watched every game, every game that you've played, and I've been impressed pretty much.
• 1:26:01
SPEAKER_01: There's something that you do on that field.
• 1:26:03
SPEAKER_01: There's at least one thing that you do on that field every game that I just go, Oh my god, I can't believe you just did that.
• 1:26:10
SPEAKER_01: But but I call you the diesel because when you clear the ball, man, guys don't even guys just get out of the way.
• 1:26:19
SPEAKER_01: They just like scatter like I'm going that way.
• 1:26:22
SPEAKER_01: You're an amazing clearer for your size, 6'4, 240, man.
• 1:26:26
SPEAKER_01: Like you come down there.
• 1:26:28
SPEAKER_01: It's just amazing to watch you play.
• 1:26:30
  SPEAKER_01: It really is.
• 1:26:31
SPEAKER_01: And Coach Boyle's always been known for his defenses.
• 1:26:34
SPEAKER_01: Wingate Bulldogs have been known for their defenses.
• 1:26:37
SPEAKER_01: But you I think that when you got there, you kind of took took that defense to to the next level.
• 1:26:42
  SPEAKER_01: I really do.
• 1:26:43
SPEAKER_01: And again, I've watched every game that you've played in, and I've been impressed in every single game at least once by one thing that you do.
• 1:26:51
SPEAKER_01: It's been just it's been a great ride to watch you, Peyton.
• 1:26:55
SPEAKER_01: And um I just, you know, gonna miss you.
• 1:26:58
SPEAKER_01: Definitely gonna miss you, man.
• 1:27:00
  SPEAKER_00: I really appreciate that.
• 1:27:01
SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you know, I've I've uh grown great fun on this team.
• 1:27:05
SPEAKER_00: And you know, I can't take it all, take all the credit, you know, because I was working with Willie Grefield, probably one of the best offensive players to come in D2, you know, going against him every day.
• 1:27:15
SPEAKER_00: I practice probably you know, excelled me as a better defenseman.
• 1:27:19
SPEAKER_00: You know, you go from high school to college, and there's just a huge gap of you know, playing style, like how how much faster the game is in college.
• 1:27:29
SPEAKER_00: And um, you know, playing against these guys throughout these four years of you know, just made me better each and every year.
• 1:27:36
SPEAKER_00: So I loved it every single minute of it.
• 1:27:39
SPEAKER_03: Yeah, so Danny, he is extremely impressive, but now I think he has to be impressive in the firing round.
• 1:27:47
SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, Peyton Farley, the senior defenseman from Teagan K, South Carolina, enters the firing round.
• 1:27:55
SPEAKER_01: All right, gonna blast a couple of questions at you.
• 1:27:58
SPEAKER_01: Give us your best answer, okay?
• 1:28:00
  SPEAKER_00: Sounds good.
• 1:28:01
  SPEAKER_01: Number one, what's mom's best meal?
• 1:28:07
  SPEAKER_00: How to go steak.
• 1:28:08
  SPEAKER_01: Steak.
• 1:28:09
SPEAKER_00: Nice, nice flaming yarn, yeah.
• 1:28:11
  SPEAKER_01: Okay.
• 1:28:11
SPEAKER_01: On the on the barbecue or in the in the oven?
• 1:28:15
  SPEAKER_00: Definitely on the barbecue.
• 1:28:16
  SPEAKER_01: Alright, cool.
• 1:28:18
  SPEAKER_01: Xbox or PlayStation?
• 1:28:20
  SPEAKER_00: Xbox.
• 1:28:21
  SPEAKER_01: Alright.
• 1:28:25
  SPEAKER_00: ESPN.
• 1:28:27
  SPEAKER_01: Okay, me too.
• 1:28:28
SPEAKER_01: I turn my TV on like automatically goes to ESPN.
• 1:28:32
SPEAKER_01: I programmed it that way.
• 1:28:35
SPEAKER_01: It's programmed to open up on ESPN.
• 1:28:39
SPEAKER_01: My wife used to lose it on me.
• 1:28:41
  SPEAKER_01: But anyway, next question.
• 1:28:43
  SPEAKER_01: Runs or lifts?
• 1:28:45
  SPEAKER_00: Lifts.
• 1:28:46
  SPEAKER_01: Ah, alright.
• 1:28:48
  SPEAKER_01: Next question.
• 1:28:48
SPEAKER_01: Morning bird or night owl?
• 1:28:51
  SPEAKER_00: Night owl.
• 1:28:52
  SPEAKER_01: Night owl, huh?
• 1:28:54
  SPEAKER_01: What's your what's your go-to midnight snack?
• 1:28:57
  SPEAKER_00: Go-to midnight.
• 1:28:58
  SPEAKER_00: I'd probably say I do this.
• 1:29:00
  SPEAKER_00: It's kind of crazy.
• 1:29:01
SPEAKER_00: I do uh um a little popcorn and I melt some chocolate and drizzle on top.
• 1:29:06
  SPEAKER_01: Hmm.
• 1:29:07
SPEAKER_01: So I play a little uh you know, chocolate.
• 1:29:09
SPEAKER_01: Salt salt and sweet at the same time.
• 1:29:12
SPEAKER_01: Kinda kind of sounds pretty good.
• 1:29:13
SPEAKER_01: I'll have to try that.
• 1:29:15
SPEAKER_01: Number six, what kind of music is on your playlist?
• 1:29:19
  SPEAKER_00: I mean, I got all genres.
• 1:29:21
SPEAKER_00: I love I love country, I love you know RB, and then I got an everything playlist that has pretty much all music from early 2000s to now, present.
• 1:29:32
  SPEAKER_01: That's pretty cool.
• 1:29:34
SPEAKER_01: Um any superstitions or pre-game rituals?
• 1:29:40

  SPEAKER_01: It was insane.
• 1:42:55

• 1:43:04
SPEAKER_01: Completely out of my pay scale.
• 1:43:06
SPEAKER_01: Alex Agorshian, the goalie from the Montevala Falcons, the Peach Belt goalie of the year.

• 1:44:09
SPEAKER_01: They had a table, Kev.
• 1:44:11
SPEAKER_01: You know the little miniature fireball bottles, the little minis that you get on the airplane?
• 1:44:16
SPEAKER_01: They had a table with like 250 of these things on them.
• 1:44:20
