- 0:21Speaker 1: rate five stars wherever you get your podcasts. My guys
- 0:25Speaker 1: on the ones and twos. When he's not winning kickball
- 0:27Speaker 1: tournaments staying limber with some yoga, are hosting the Fantasy
- 0:32Speaker 1: Football Today podcast. He's my super producer, the one and
- 0:35Speaker 1: only Jason Baum bomb. No, uh no, no, no Lebron
- 0:43Speaker 1: just yet for your Warriors. Huh. I remember about like
- 0:45Speaker 1: it was a done deal you had Draymond opting out,
- 0:49Speaker 1: But thus far there is no.
- 0:51Speaker 2: Lebron, no nothing yet. And honestly, the longer drags on,
- 0:54Speaker 2: the less I think it's gonna happen. I know, I
- 0:57Speaker 2: guess from what Shams will say in earlier today, it
- 1:00Speaker 2: sounds like eighty is still part of this whole package
- 1:02Speaker 2: deal the Wizards trading for DeAndre eight. And even though
- 1:05Speaker 2: the Wizards said they're not trading eighty, the Wizard's trading
- 1:09Speaker 2: for DeAndre and at least makes it a little more
- 1:11Speaker 2: believable than it could be believable and doable, but you
- 1:15Speaker 2: never know what these teams. This league is so unpredictable.
- 1:17Speaker 2: I mean, obviously we saw and we're gonna get into
- 1:19Speaker 2: this as well, the whole trade yesterday. But yeah, that
- 1:23Speaker 2: was crazy.
- 1:24Speaker 1: Yeah, Yeah, it's just a crazy NBA off season thus far.
- 1:28Speaker 1: And you know, some seismic moves that we will get into.
- 1:32Speaker 1: First and foremost off the top, we have to talk
- 1:34Speaker 1: about the longest tenured nick no longer being a Nick,
- 1:39Speaker 1: Mitchell Robinson. You know, he's a guy who we've watched grow.
- 1:43Speaker 1: He's a guy who we've watched become a very impactful
- 1:47Speaker 1: player where he didn't even play college ball and came
- 1:51Speaker 1: in very, very raw. And we've been through our ups
- 1:55Speaker 1: and our downs. There's the tap dunks, there's the unbelievable
- 2:00Speaker 1: offensive rebounding, and then there's the free throws and the
- 2:04Speaker 1: inability to do anything else offensively. But yeah, Mitchell Robinson
- 2:09Speaker 1: no longer with the Knicks. And obviously this is something
- 2:12Speaker 1: that many people thought might happen this offseason. People said
- 2:15Speaker 1: it was likely once we went ahead and resigned Landry Shammitt,
- 2:18Speaker 1: that Mitchell Robinson would not end up returning. He goes
- 2:23Speaker 1: and he gets an average of about sixteen million dollars
- 2:26Speaker 1: a year. The problem and the issue is where he
- 2:31Speaker 1: goes Mitchell Robinson to the Celtics. That was a tough
- 2:37Speaker 1: one man, go out west somewhere. Dog. I get it,
- 2:39Speaker 1: you gotta get paid, but not to the Celtics.
- 2:42Speaker 3: Man.
- 2:42Speaker 1: I you know, it's gonna be really tough to watch
- 2:46Speaker 1: him in that jersey of all jerseys, one of my
- 2:49Speaker 1: least favorite in all of the NBA, in all of sports.
- 2:53Speaker 1: And it's going to be interesting having to face him
- 2:58Speaker 1: at least four times a year plus a playoff series.
- 3:03Speaker 1: Most likely if we play them four times this year,
- 3:05Speaker 1: even if Mitch is healthy, he'll only play in you know,
- 3:08Speaker 1: two maybe three of those games. I said last week
- 3:11Speaker 1: that I thought that Mitch going out and gets starter's money,
- 3:13Speaker 1: which I don't know. Maybe they're looking to bring him
- 3:17Speaker 1: off the bench because they also what's the name of
- 3:20Speaker 1: the center they they're the guy that they just resigned
- 3:22Speaker 1: as well.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Unimus Kieta is like a third or fourth year guy
- 3:26Speaker 2: out of YU. That dude you know, seven foot or
- 3:29Speaker 2: he is a beast.
- 3:30Speaker 1: Yeah, he looks very good thus far, and it seems
- 3:33Speaker 1: like he will be their center and they're looking for
- 3:35Speaker 1: Mitch to just come off the bench and if they can,
- 3:39Speaker 1: if the Celtics have the mindset that we are going
- 3:43Speaker 1: to not play him in back to backs, and we're
- 3:46Speaker 1: gonna give him a couple of times throughout the season
- 3:48Speaker 1: where we give him, you know, maybe three four games
- 3:50Speaker 1: in the row off, and they're looking around that sixty
- 3:52Speaker 1: game you know, sixty games at about somewhere between fifteen
- 3:56Speaker 1: to twenty minutes. Hey, then Mitch is great at that.
- 3:59Speaker 1: We know he's fantastic at that. Unfortunately, the Knicks just
- 4:05Speaker 1: it couldn't happen in the new collective bargaining agreement and
- 4:09Speaker 1: wanting to continue to stay under that second apron. Again,
- 4:13Speaker 1: that is not, in my opinion, a Dolan trying to
- 4:16Speaker 1: save money thing. That is a Nicks trying to be
- 4:22Speaker 1: have some maneuverability and some flexibility throughout next season. Everybody
- 4:27Speaker 1: talks about the second apron, nobody spends any time actually
- 4:29Speaker 1: sitting down and reading what the second apron means. But yeah,
- 4:32Speaker 1: I think that at the end of the day, Mitch
- 4:37Speaker 1: was a great Nick. Him leaving it does like hit
- 4:43Speaker 1: me on a sentimental level. I do also think though,
- 4:47Speaker 1: that he is somebody that you know, he just kind
- 4:51Speaker 1: of outgrew the role in the spot that he was
- 4:55Speaker 1: on this team, and he kind of needs to go
- 4:57Speaker 1: on and kind of spread his wings a little bit more.
- 5:00Speaker 1: I just don't know if physically he's capable. I wish
- 5:02Speaker 1: him all the best for sure. Now when it comes
- 5:05Speaker 1: to the Knicks, I'm trying really hard to just enjoy
- 5:09Speaker 1: being a champ in this entire offseason. You know, I
- 5:14Speaker 1: got I'm I'm constantly checking my email and you know,
- 5:18Speaker 1: checking my Apple wallet to see, you know, when things
- 5:21Speaker 1: are being delivered. We got a couple of things on
- 5:23Speaker 1: the way. I did just get this yesterday. My son says,
- 5:26Speaker 1: it's the greatest shirt he's ever said. My pops looked
- 5:29Speaker 1: at me and said, man, that's a good shirt. And
- 5:31Speaker 1: for him, that's about the greatest most praise you'll ever get.
- 5:34Speaker 1: So he says that. And uh, I had another guy
- 5:40Speaker 1: who I saw out in out in the world yesterday.
- 5:43Speaker 1: I live in Arizona, so it's not like everybody is
- 5:45Speaker 1: draped to Nick Gar like when I was back East
- 5:46Speaker 1: for the parade. But I see this guy out who
- 5:49Speaker 1: him and our kids go to the same school. So
- 5:52Speaker 1: we talk in the pickup line. He's a big Lakers fan.
- 5:54Speaker 1: He said they gentrified his starting lineup. We'll talk about
- 5:57Speaker 1: that here in a little bit. But he was like,
- 6:03Speaker 1: he looked at me. He hadn't seen me since school
- 6:05Speaker 1: in it, so he hadn't seen me since we won.
- 6:07Speaker 1: But you know, he obviously knows I'm a Nick Fann
- 6:08Speaker 1: and he's like, yo, man, congratulations brother. I thought about you, man.
- 6:12Speaker 1: You know, we were talking about the parade, talking about
- 6:14Speaker 1: me meeting Spree and Kirk, and he was looked at
- 6:16Speaker 1: my shirt. He's like, that's that's a hype shirt right there.
- 6:19Speaker 1: Let me check you out toward the force. If you
- 6:28Speaker 1: go on my on my ex at Independent Nick, there
- 6:33Speaker 1: is me on there. There's a post I made with
- 6:36Speaker 1: this shirt and in the comments and people asked about
- 6:39Speaker 1: about where to get it, so I threw the link
- 6:41Speaker 1: in there. So if you're toward deforce, man, toward deforce,
- 6:44Speaker 1: y'all need to you'll need to sponsor me. Man, I'm
- 6:46Speaker 1: out here promoting your gear for free. But yeah, no,
- 6:48Speaker 1: it's a hype shirt. So well made shirts, comfy shirt,
- 6:51Speaker 1: you know what I mean, good shirt, so uh hype
- 6:52Speaker 1: about that. But uh yeah, man, Mitch just you know
- 6:55Speaker 1: the Mitch era is over. Man, it's disappointing. I love Mitch,
- 6:58Speaker 1: I really do, I see, but already with the whole
- 7:01Speaker 1: the whole angle where after you know, he on one
- 7:06Speaker 1: of his posts og put like a crying uh tear
- 7:09Speaker 1: moji and he said, yeah, man, I didn't want to leave.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Hopefully the whole story will come out at some point.
- 7:16Speaker 1: See Mitch, all right, now now you' the op. Now
- 7:18Speaker 1: you really becoming the OP when you start talking like that.
- 7:21Speaker 1: First and foremost you already went to the fucking Celtics.
- 7:23Speaker 1: We could have done without that, but maybe they were
- 7:26Speaker 1: the ones that were offering you most money. Joe Missoula,
- 7:28Speaker 1: if you remember, talked so highly of Mitch so uh
- 7:32Speaker 1: that you know, it doesn't surprise me that he would
- 7:34Speaker 1: probably push hard to get him in the building. But
- 7:37Speaker 1: now you're over there and now you're you know, you
- 7:39Speaker 1: kind of kind of talking slick shit, my man. Cody
- 7:44Speaker 1: glock On on Knicks Fan's TV. Cody glock Man, Friend
- 7:48Speaker 1: of the show. Uh, he was on Knicks Fan's TV,
- 7:51Speaker 1: closing it out as he always does so well, and
- 7:54Speaker 1: he was saying, how like you know, he used to say, Mitchie,
- 7:57Speaker 1: no snitchy. Now Mitchie is the snitchy now, Mitch, he's
- 8:00Speaker 1: the guy who's you know, like you know, like dry
- 8:02Speaker 1: snitched and saying some slick shit on his way out.
- 8:04Speaker 1: I don't like that. I don't like that. And listen,
- 8:07Speaker 1: when you go out and you break your hand on
- 8:09Speaker 1: the eve of the finals with an injury that is
- 8:13Speaker 1: commonly called a boxer's fracture, that still is a in
- 8:19Speaker 1: a midst of secrecy. When you go out and you
- 8:22Speaker 1: do that right before the finals, there might be a
- 8:26Speaker 1: chance that the Knicks, it wasn't that he was too expensive,
- 8:31Speaker 1: but that Leon Rose and the organization felt we just
- 8:35Speaker 1: we're not gonna bring this guy back. He can't hit
- 8:37Speaker 1: a free throw no matter how much we work with
- 8:39Speaker 1: him on it. You know, you allow him to totally.
- 8:43Speaker 1: I mean, there was times in the playoffs where our
- 8:45Speaker 1: offense was rolling at like a historic level and the
- 8:48Speaker 1: only thing that could slow us down was getting out
- 8:51Speaker 1: of rhythm because every single time we're coming down and
- 8:54Speaker 1: watching miss Brick two free throws. And so there's a
- 8:58Speaker 1: chance that the Knicks just said, hey, this is a well,
- 9:01Speaker 1: you know, hey, thank you for your services. Got yourself
- 9:04Speaker 1: a ring, Go get yourself some money, you know, but
- 9:07Speaker 1: we're gonna move on now. If that's the case. The
- 9:10Speaker 1: thing I do not understand, and and and and I again,
- 9:13Speaker 1: I trust Leon Rose. I trust that we're gonna end
- 9:16Speaker 1: up with the backup center who can protect the rim
- 9:18Speaker 1: and get some rebounds. Uh. Right now, the market is
- 9:23Speaker 1: slim to non existent. Don't talk to me about, you know,
- 9:27Speaker 1: drumming the corpse of Andre Drummond. We don't need that.
- 9:32Speaker 1: And please please make me understand why we trade draft
- 9:39Speaker 1: centers and trade them away and give up all our
- 9:42Speaker 1: draft picks. If the plan was to not keep Mitch,
- 9:45Speaker 1: then that to me, I have a hard time understanding it.
- 9:48Speaker 1: But I trust in the don Okay, I trust that
- 9:52Speaker 1: Leon has this figured out and it's gonna, you know,
- 9:57Speaker 1: do something, some sort of maneuvering. But you know, we'll see.
- 10:02Speaker 1: Other than that, the Knicks have pretty much kept the
- 10:04Speaker 1: band back together. I'm seeing. You know, Brunson is already
- 10:07Speaker 1: back working out strength and conditioning. You know, Josh Hard
- 10:11Speaker 1: is out in Europe enjoying himself doing his thing. Cat
- 10:13Speaker 1: and his woman are at the White Party, you know,
- 10:16Speaker 1: having a good time with you know, a list celebrities,
- 10:20Speaker 1: and it's good to be a Nick right now. Man,
- 10:21Speaker 1: it's good to be a Nick.
- 10:22Speaker 2: It is.
- 10:23Speaker 1: It's good to be a Nick. It's good to be
- 10:24Speaker 1: a champion. It feels. I still can't believe how good
- 10:27Speaker 1: it feels. I really can't. It's been three weeks and
- 10:34Speaker 1: I am still on an unbelievable high. I'm still watching
- 10:38Speaker 1: all of the videos. There's certain plays like the og
- 10:44Speaker 1: tip in display. I've watched like eight different versions of
- 10:48Speaker 1: that that almost brought a tear to my eye. You
- 10:50Speaker 1: just got to put it to a different song and
- 10:51Speaker 1: have the beat drop right as the ball goes in,
- 10:53Speaker 1: and it's just like it does. It's a formula that
- 10:56Speaker 1: can't miss it. It's amazing. Every single Thank you, Nick,
- 11:01Speaker 1: thank you so much. I am going to not just
- 11:05Speaker 1: be one of these people who bugs out about, oh,
- 11:07Speaker 1: we don't have a center and thetis and that and
- 11:09Speaker 1: blah blah blah. But we are going to turn back
- 11:14Speaker 1: to them a little bit later when we talk about
- 11:17Speaker 1: a certain someone and their possible destinations and why or
- 11:21Speaker 1: why not they are a good idea. I gotta jump
- 11:27Speaker 1: into Jalen Brown getting traded from the Celtics to the
- 11:35Speaker 1: Philadelphia seventy six ers for Paul George and a pick
- 11:40Speaker 1: in like twenty eight and a pick in thirty one.
- 11:45Speaker 1: I I, you know, I realize sometimes that personality matters,
- 11:52Speaker 1: and we all know that Jalen Brown is very unapologetically himself.
- 11:59Speaker 1: Whether that's a personality that you like or dislike, you know,
- 12:03Speaker 1: obviously that's for everybody to make their own decision personally.
- 12:09Speaker 1: I feel like this is one of the most fascinating
- 12:13Speaker 1: and perplexing NBA trades that I've ever seen. You know,
- 12:19Speaker 1: the people that I know that are Celtics fans, There's
- 12:21Speaker 1: two in particular that I know really well and that
- 12:24Speaker 1: I'm in, you know, a group chat with it with
- 12:28Speaker 1: both of them not in the same but they both
- 12:32Speaker 1: are just absolutely livid. I don't see any Celtics fans
- 12:36Speaker 1: online that are like, wow, this is a good trade
- 12:39Speaker 1: if we were gonna get rid of Jalen Brown, which
- 12:41Speaker 1: seemed inevitable once the package for the Yiannis trade became
- 12:47Speaker 1: or at least proposal became so public, and so now
- 12:53Speaker 1: you give them up for Paul George playoff p Yo.
- 13:00Speaker 1: First of all, the only person that's ever been able
- 13:03Speaker 1: to give themselves a nickname and at work is Kobe
- 13:05Speaker 1: with the black Mamba and playoff p You know, you
- 13:09Speaker 1: gotta you gotta really perform in the playoffs before you
- 13:12Speaker 1: want to call yourself some shit like that. Like like
- 13:14Speaker 1: if Brunton decided to call himself, you know, the big
- 13:19Speaker 1: shot Brunson or some shit like that. Right now, Okay,
- 13:22Speaker 1: he got it, he got it, but uh, he's not
- 13:26Speaker 1: gonna do that now, Brunson gets down. But playoff p
- 13:29Speaker 1: is a tough one, and dude, first of all, stay
- 13:34Speaker 1: off the peds. Second of all, this is a tough
- 13:40Speaker 1: tough one to sell in my opinion, because Jalen Brown
- 13:46Speaker 1: second team All NBA, he was Finals MVP two years ago.
- 13:55Speaker 1: He led that team to the second seed without Jason
- 13:58Speaker 1: Tatum for most of the entire season what was supposed
- 14:02Speaker 1: to be like a throwaway year. A lot of people
- 14:04Speaker 1: were saying, and you give this guy up for Paul
- 14:09Speaker 1: George and some picks down the line. It's not even
- 14:12Speaker 1: like the pics are like close and immediate. I just
- 14:15Speaker 1: don't get that, man. I Okay, So to me, something
- 14:19Speaker 1: is very clear here. Okay, this is not this is
- 14:21Speaker 1: not this Trait wasn't about basketball. I you know, there's
- 14:25Speaker 1: all these different talks about the analytics. He's the seventh
- 14:28Speaker 1: best player on the team that you know, Derek White
- 14:31Speaker 1: had a better year than he did last year when
- 14:34Speaker 1: he shot like the lowest percentages he ever has. You know,
- 14:39Speaker 1: as Josh Hart says, analytics are like a light pole
- 14:45Speaker 1: if you're drunk. You can lean on it, but it
- 14:48Speaker 1: won't get you home. Actually, I think I got that right.
- 14:53Speaker 1: Halfway through. I was like, I'm definitely gonna mess this up,
- 14:54Speaker 1: but I think that no good.
- 14:55Speaker 2: I gotta I gotta jump in here and give you
- 14:56Speaker 2: the give you the exact quote. The quote was analytic
- 15:00Speaker 2: a like a white post to a drunk person. You
- 15:02Speaker 2: can lean on them, they will not bring you home.
- 15:04Speaker 1: There you go, There you go. That was pretty close.
- 15:08Speaker 1: But yeah, Josh, he's one of the better interviews in
- 15:13Speaker 1: post games in the NBA. Jaylen Brown man, Yo, So
- 15:18Speaker 1: to me, it's very clear that this is about wanting
- 15:21Speaker 1: to give Tatum the reins. This is about wanting the
- 15:28Speaker 1: lead and the singular personality that this team takes upon
- 15:32Speaker 1: them to be Jason Tatum's. Now, these people are around
- 15:38Speaker 1: Jason Tatum all the time, so obviously they are around
- 15:43Speaker 1: Brown for his entire career as well, so they made
- 15:46Speaker 1: this choice, and they clearly feel that that's the way
- 15:48Speaker 1: to go. I personally, listen. Another thing about this is
- 15:54Speaker 1: that Jason, It's not like Jason Tatum was like running
- 15:57Speaker 1: to the front office and screaming and saying absolutely not,
- 15:59Speaker 1: you can't get rid of my guy. This, this is
- 16:01Speaker 1: my guy, this is my No, that's not the case.
- 16:03Speaker 1: If that was the case, he would still be there.
- 16:05Speaker 1: Jason Tatum at the very least said all right, well,
- 16:08Speaker 1: you guys gotta do what you gotta do. And to me,
- 16:11Speaker 1: it almost seems as if he was in the office
- 16:14Speaker 1: saying like, hey, I think we need to go in
- 16:15Speaker 1: a new direction. I really do, I really do. Obviously,
- 16:18Speaker 1: that's a that's totally just you know, hearsay and me,
- 16:23Speaker 1: you know, coming up with my own theory on it.
- 16:26Speaker 1: But like, I just don't see a way that this
- 16:29Speaker 1: all goes so bad that you need to give up. You're,
- 16:33Speaker 1: if not best player, your second best player? Who I
- 16:38Speaker 1: mean he was? How often are you just trying your
- 16:41Speaker 1: best to just get off of a guy who was
- 16:42Speaker 1: second team NBA the previous year. That's crazy, Top five
- 16:47Speaker 1: and MVP voting. I don't understand that. It's really really
- 16:51Speaker 1: hard for me to understand. And I believe that this
- 16:55Speaker 1: is clearly a personality thing. You know, I heard said
- 17:00Speaker 1: he talked to a couple of people and they talk
- 17:02Speaker 1: about how he's got this disease where he always feels
- 17:05Speaker 1: like he's the smartest person in the in the in
- 17:07Speaker 1: the room. And I loved his his uh, his reply
- 17:11Speaker 1: Jayalen Brown, when he said, yeah, well, I mean, you know,
- 17:14Speaker 1: if we're talking about people in sports, I mean the
- 17:16Speaker 1: bar is pretty low. You know. I love how unapology
- 17:20Speaker 1: jellically him that dude is. I can't they yo, they NBA,
- 17:25Speaker 1: you absolutely positively have to make Game one next season,
- 17:33Speaker 1: Sixers at Celtics has to be and Jaylen Brown, he's
- 17:40Speaker 1: either gonna walk in looking like a black panther or
- 17:43Speaker 1: he's gonna walk in look it with like a koofy on,
- 17:46Speaker 1: like you know, like a like a devout Muslim, and
- 17:48Speaker 1: he's going to drop seventy five points. I really think
- 17:52Speaker 1: that he's gonna be pointing and talking shit in Tatum's girl.
- 17:56Speaker 1: Oh my god, man, I yo, I that guy. I'm
- 18:00Speaker 1: telling you watch he's about to have a huge year.
- 18:02Speaker 1: And this is okay, a couple of things I don't
- 18:04Speaker 1: love Jayalen Brown's game, and I don't like him because
- 18:07Speaker 1: he's always talking shit to the Knicks and like, you know,
- 18:09Speaker 1: needling the Knicks and social media and shit like that.
- 18:11Speaker 1: So it's not even like I'm a big Jayalen Brown fan.
- 18:14Speaker 1: I like that the I like how intelligent he is,
- 18:17Speaker 1: and I like the fact that he's willing to step
- 18:19Speaker 1: up and speak up on things that are important to
- 18:21Speaker 1: him and his people. I do like that about him.
- 18:24Speaker 1: You know, being that guy in Boston. It ain't the
- 18:31Speaker 1: easiest thing in the world to do. And you know
- 18:36Speaker 1: the fact that even though his play was so stellar
- 18:38Speaker 1: on the court, but yet he still got traded away
- 18:41Speaker 1: for you know, playoff p and a bag of beans.
- 18:45Speaker 1: I don't know if that's a I don't know if
- 18:48Speaker 1: that's a coincidence or not. I really don't, but it
- 18:51Speaker 1: definitely makes you think. And he's he's about to have
- 18:58Speaker 1: a revenge. I think he's gonna have a good year.
- 18:59Speaker 1: And Philly, all of a sudden, they just seem like
- 19:02Speaker 1: they're signing everybody. They got him, they got in forty Simons,
- 19:05Speaker 1: they got a party. Yeah, Philly is cleaning up. They're
- 19:08Speaker 1: they're they're really going for it. You could see, you know,
- 19:11Speaker 1: get Darryl Moury out of there, and now they're really
- 19:14Speaker 1: going for it and they're gonna be a foe. The
- 19:16Speaker 1: other thing is is that again same thing with my
- 19:19Speaker 1: guy Mitch going to the Celtics. Now the Celtics they
- 19:25Speaker 1: get Jayleen Brown, but they don't even get him out
- 19:27Speaker 1: of the fucking division. Yo. That's the other You you sent
- 19:29Speaker 1: him to a place you got to play in four
- 19:30Speaker 1: times a year, and as a Knicks fan in that
- 19:32Speaker 1: same division, both of those players when they moved, I
- 19:35Speaker 1: was hoping that they'd go far away and I could
- 19:38Speaker 1: see him twice. Yeah. The Uh, Philly to me has
- 19:44Speaker 1: made the biggest come up on the East or even
- 19:46Speaker 1: more so than Miami. I think Miami, you know, obviously
- 19:51Speaker 1: they went out and got Giannis, who has potential to
- 19:53Speaker 1: be a top to five player if he's healthy. Uh,
- 19:56Speaker 1: the big if is there for sure. But for Philly,
- 20:02Speaker 1: you know, I think that they got a capable backup
- 20:06Speaker 1: in huck Porty for Joel Embiid because you know he's
- 20:11Speaker 1: gonna play forty five games at the most. And then
- 20:15Speaker 1: I think that obviously adding Jaylen Brown, I just wonder.
- 20:19Speaker 1: I felt like last year, specifically in the playoffs, well
- 20:23Speaker 1: we're playing against them. I was happy that I wasn't
- 20:25Speaker 1: seeing it. Some of it has to do with McHale
- 20:27Speaker 1: Bridges and the way he plays defense, but I also
- 20:31Speaker 1: was kind of like, yo, like why isn't MAXI like
- 20:36Speaker 1: being more involved having a ball in his hands and
- 20:38Speaker 1: being more aggressive and trying to make things happen. I
- 20:43Speaker 1: felt like that in the playoffs last year, Edgecombe was
- 20:46Speaker 1: pretty much non existent. Adding Jalen Brown to that does that,
- 20:51Speaker 1: you know, does that dim their light even a little
- 20:54Speaker 1: bit more? You know, I wonder if that ends up
- 20:59Speaker 1: being something that is good for MAXI long term, because I,
- 21:02Speaker 1: if I'm if I'm the Sixers, I still need to
- 21:05Speaker 1: operate like, you know, like he's our guy. I give
- 21:07Speaker 1: him the keys, and you know, you're seeing certain teams.
- 21:11Speaker 1: It seems like the Celtics are almost trying to go
- 21:14Speaker 1: like Nick's route of like Okay, we have this one,
- 21:17Speaker 1: like really good player and then we just put all
- 21:19Speaker 1: the pieces around him to amplify him and make him better,
- 21:23Speaker 1: and you know, we get it done that way, whereas
- 21:27Speaker 1: the Sixers are kind of trying to like a mass
- 21:29Speaker 1: you know, a big three to a certain extent Big four,
- 21:34Speaker 1: so different routes. We'll see what works for who I
- 21:39Speaker 1: did see I forget exactly who it was, but somebody
- 21:44Speaker 1: tweeted that, you know, the Celtics are expecting are hoping
- 21:47Speaker 1: for a Pritchard to make a Jalen Brunson like leap.
- 21:52Speaker 1: That's it's the funniest shit I've ever heard in my
- 21:53Speaker 1: entire life. I mean, listen, eate Bridge is a good player,
- 21:59Speaker 1: soab Larry. You know, he's a player who was good
- 22:03Speaker 1: in college but then obviously wasn't like a very high
- 22:06Speaker 1: draft pick what with bom Look up where he was picked.
- 22:11Speaker 2: And it was a late first round or early second
- 22:13Speaker 2: out of.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Oregon, gotcha, gotcha? Yeah, so good college basketball player, but
- 22:17Speaker 1: then you know he comes into the n b A
- 22:19Speaker 1: and you know, has made us made like a good
- 22:23Speaker 1: career for himself and made himself a legitimate impact player
- 22:25Speaker 1: for that team. Don't get me wrong, but even mentioning
- 22:29Speaker 1: his name in the same sentence as Dalen Brunson is ridiculous.
- 22:32Speaker 1: And I think that uh oh, by the way, also, yeah,
- 22:39Speaker 1: as far as him being you know, having a Jaylen
- 22:42Speaker 1: Brunston like leap, he's a he's eight months older than
- 22:45Speaker 1: Jalen Brunson. So I wonder if that's real. I don't
- 22:50Speaker 1: think anybody at Boston could be that silly. What they're
- 22:53Speaker 1: hoping for is that Tatum like becomes like super saying
- 22:59Speaker 1: Tatum and just you know, becomes that guy Derek White,
- 23:03Speaker 1: his numbers kind of progress back to his typical mean
- 23:07Speaker 1: of percentage wise and then you know, they just become, uh,
- 23:10Speaker 1: you know, a team where they have that one centric
- 23:13Speaker 1: star and you know, guys being their best around him.
- 23:16Speaker 1: And you know, Mitch Robinson, Joe Missoula, he coaches like
- 23:22Speaker 1: his big man specifically to hunt offensive rebounds and kick
- 23:25Speaker 1: him out for threes. Mitch is the best at that
- 23:27Speaker 1: in the world. So it could be a good fit
- 23:30Speaker 1: for Mitch. And you know, I like the fact that
- 23:32Speaker 1: they're not. It doesn't seem like they're gonna be asking
- 23:33Speaker 1: him to play. The Knicks made the blueprint of what
- 23:36Speaker 1: you need to get him through the end of the season.
- 23:39Speaker 1: Just hope that he doesn't end up breaking his hand
- 23:41Speaker 1: right before the finals. But you'aly make it to the
- 23:44Speaker 1: finals anyway, because Nix and five.
- 23:50Speaker 2: BO.
- 23:50Speaker 1: When you saw the Jalen Brown trade, what was your
- 23:53Speaker 1: first thought.
- 23:55Speaker 2: I didn't want to. I just want to make sure
- 23:56Speaker 2: Chopp wasn't get to jump off a bridge, but I
- 24:00Speaker 2: needed to jump in before the Jayalen Brown Pritchard went
- 24:02Speaker 2: twenty six overall in the twenty twenty draft. But no,
- 24:06Speaker 2: in reality, it was stunning because again, like you mentioned,
- 24:08Speaker 2: trade him in the division of all things, like first off,
- 24:12Speaker 2: that makes less than zero sense. Like the fact that
- 24:16Speaker 2: Portland didn't get involved when there was talk about them
- 24:18Speaker 2: being involved also made no sense to me. Apparently their
- 24:22Speaker 2: analytics guy said he wasn't great either and they pivoted
- 24:25Speaker 2: a jaw. So that was that was horrible. And then
- 24:30Speaker 2: just from the getting in Paul George as the return standpoint,
- 24:34Speaker 2: I mean, obviously that was kind of the matching salary
- 24:36Speaker 2: thing because you go back to the aprons, like when
- 24:38Speaker 2: you're in the second apron in the NBA, like you're
- 24:42Speaker 2: basically operating out of a straight jagget. You can't do anything. Yeah,
- 24:45Speaker 2: So that's that was basically probably the salary match. But
- 24:49Speaker 2: for I know you're gonna hate this part, but I'm
- 24:50Speaker 2: gonna say it anyway, The Celtics as a franchise who
- 24:54Speaker 2: had an illustrious history of clutch players in their time.
- 24:58Speaker 2: Trading for one of the most unclutch players in their
- 25:01Speaker 2: time is so wild to me.
- 25:05Speaker 1: Yeah. But you know what though, if you really want
- 25:09Speaker 1: to go the route of Tatum being the guy, then
- 25:16Speaker 1: you know Paul Pierce is gonna is gonna chill like
- 25:18Speaker 1: he's not. You know, he's not trying to be the guy.
- 25:20Speaker 1: He's trying to, you know, knock down some threes. You know,
- 25:23Speaker 1: don't ask too much of him. It's just whether or
- 25:26Speaker 1: not he can stay on the floor, especially without the
- 25:28Speaker 1: PDS because you know they they pisstesting him on the
- 25:31Speaker 1: rack now now that he got popped, so you know,
- 25:33Speaker 1: if he's fucking around, he's gonna get caught. It's a
- 25:36Speaker 1: it's real hard man. Shout to my man Chop, shout
- 25:39Speaker 1: to my man aj. Both of them big Celtics fans
- 25:42Speaker 1: that I've known for quite some time, and both of
- 25:44Speaker 1: them are just sick, just sick. And I really haven't
- 25:49Speaker 1: seen like a like a even like on X, I
- 25:52Speaker 1: haven't seen anybody who's like a fan. I've seen Pete
- 25:55Speaker 1: like media people, analytics, nerds talking about how they want
- 25:59Speaker 1: to uh you know how they're talking about uh, you know,
- 26:03Speaker 1: how he wasn't that good of a player, and it's
- 26:05Speaker 1: actually a good trade for the Celtics, for the for
- 26:07Speaker 1: the Celtics, but every fan that I know is just
- 26:10Speaker 1: like absolutely disgusted. And this this analytics conversation currently is
- 26:15Speaker 1: getting very interesting, and like there's like all like this
- 26:18Speaker 1: whole thing about him and how good he is and
- 26:22Speaker 1: what front offices think about Jalen Brown and how and
- 26:24Speaker 1: how big the market was or was not because of
- 26:27Speaker 1: you know that. I also, like, again, I think his
- 26:30Speaker 1: personality and stuff he speaks up on. I think that
- 26:33Speaker 1: definitely plays a part too. I mean, listen, we we
- 26:37Speaker 1: you know Kaepernick shit wasn't that long ago. We know
- 26:40Speaker 1: for a fact that owners will all they don't want
- 26:42Speaker 1: nobody upset Apple Cart and there's certain ship that they
- 26:45Speaker 1: don't want you talking about and being extra vocal about
- 26:47Speaker 1: all the time. And I think that him being that
- 26:49Speaker 1: way already and then also afterwards starting to do that
- 26:51Speaker 1: podcast saying some shit like you know, oh this was uh,
- 26:55Speaker 1: you know, my best my my favorite season of all time,
- 26:57Speaker 1: those things, that's a I think that right there alone
- 27:00Speaker 1: might be the reason why he got traded. Like that
- 27:02Speaker 1: might have been like the straw that broke the camel's back.
- 27:04Speaker 1: That made like I could see like Tatum coming in
- 27:06Speaker 1: and talking to the people and being like, Yo, what
- 27:07Speaker 1: the fuck, like you know what I'm saying? Like, And
- 27:10Speaker 1: also I think that if you're going to do like
- 27:14Speaker 1: a podcast as an NBA player, I think you gotta
- 27:18Speaker 1: be you know, somewhat careful. You can't get on there
- 27:20Speaker 1: like just like me and just you know, say whatever
- 27:22Speaker 1: the fuck you want. And there's certain things in certain
- 27:25Speaker 1: ways that I feel about things that I don't say
- 27:26Speaker 1: just because you know, I don't necessarily need to, you know,
- 27:29Speaker 1: share that more most intimate feelings with the world. But
- 27:33Speaker 1: at the end of the day, if you decide to
- 27:36Speaker 1: do that, you got to realize that you know, you
- 27:39Speaker 1: still representing the organization all the time, always, always, and
- 27:44Speaker 1: you know, shit that you say that has to do
- 27:46Speaker 1: with your team, your ownership, your front office is going
- 27:53Speaker 1: to be very, very scrutinized, and it has the potential
- 27:56Speaker 1: to negatively affect the overall feeling in the building. And
- 28:01Speaker 1: he clearly wasn't very concerned with that, and uh yeah, man,
- 28:05Speaker 1: it's it's unfortunate, unfortunate for I think Celtics fans, But
- 28:10Speaker 1: I think that it's actually going to be good for
- 28:13Speaker 1: him in a basketball sense because if he goes to
- 28:16Speaker 1: another team, he puts up this, if he has a
- 28:17Speaker 1: huge year next year, it's gonna be a it's gonna
- 28:20Speaker 1: be a great victory lab for him, and it's gonna
- 28:22Speaker 1: be you know, he's gonna get he's gonna get a
- 28:24Speaker 1: lot of acclaim and a lot of attention for it,
- 28:27Speaker 1: and he deserves it. If especially if he makes that happen,
- 28:30Speaker 1: and the Celtics, it's they better hope that things go
- 28:34Speaker 1: well next year because right now people are looking at
- 28:38Speaker 1: Brad Stevens like, you know, like he maybe that's a
- 28:41Speaker 1: body double because he was he used to be one
- 28:44Speaker 1: of the most respected GM's presidents whatever you know, in
- 28:48Speaker 1: the entire league, and right now everybody is scrutinizing and
- 28:54Speaker 1: questioning his decisions. So we'll see how that ends up
- 28:57Speaker 1: for him. But the whole conversation about the analytics versus
- 29:01Speaker 1: what your eyeballs see, I think it obviously has to
- 29:04Speaker 1: be a combination. I think that you're gutting your eyeballs
- 29:09Speaker 1: should overrule the analytics certain times. I think analytics analytics
- 29:15Speaker 1: help you form an overall plan and make like broad
- 29:21Speaker 1: observations and generalizations, but you have to stop and take
- 29:27Speaker 1: a second and you know, look at intangibles. I think
- 29:31Speaker 1: intangibles are just as valuable as measurables, and I think
- 29:39Speaker 1: that you have to have a mind that understands the
- 29:41Speaker 1: game to be able to see them. You know, we
- 29:43Speaker 1: talked about Josh Hart and his quote on analytics before.
- 29:47Speaker 1: Josh Hart is a perfect example of a guy who
- 29:50Speaker 1: is not an analytics darling. Decent shooter grabs a bunch
- 29:55Speaker 1: of rebounds. I'm sure there's something that measures like fifty
- 29:58Speaker 1: to fifty balls. He's probably great that. But you can't
- 30:02Speaker 1: look at his stats and say, Okay, this is the reason,
- 30:08Speaker 1: this is this this, this guy is this type of player. No,
- 30:11Speaker 1: you have to watch him and experience him and understand
- 30:14Speaker 1: the passion that he plays the game with and the
- 30:16Speaker 1: fervor that he plays with, and how that is is
- 30:20Speaker 1: necessary on your team. Mike Brown has said he's like,
- 30:22Speaker 1: you need one guy on your team who's kind of
- 30:24Speaker 1: like a nut, and that's good Josh is because he's
- 30:26Speaker 1: he's a fucking crazy person on the floor, and you
- 30:28Speaker 1: need a couple people like that. You need certain personalities,
- 30:33Speaker 1: you know, when you measure a guy and you look
- 30:35Speaker 1: at all of his stats, how are you going to
- 30:39Speaker 1: measure like the fact that Jose Alvarado is the guy
- 30:43Speaker 1: who is the first game he's on your team and
- 30:45Speaker 1: somebody tries to like stand over Mitch even though he's
- 30:48Speaker 1: the smallest guy on the floor, goes up and gets
- 30:49Speaker 1: in that guy's face and gets chest to chest with
- 30:51Speaker 1: him and make sure like nah man, it says, and
- 30:53Speaker 1: you read his lip, He's like, nah man, we ain't
- 30:55Speaker 1: doing that. We ain't doing that. And the Knicks were
- 30:58Speaker 1: in such terrible need of a guy like that. I
- 31:02Speaker 1: talked about it with my dad all the time. We
- 31:04Speaker 1: don't have anybody on our team now without like like
- 31:07Speaker 1: our last guys were like Julius and like Dante, but
- 31:09Speaker 1: we have nobody who's just gonna go and just get
- 31:11Speaker 1: right in somebody's face, like yo, chill the fuck out.
- 31:14Speaker 1: You don't need nobody's fighting in today's NBA, but you
- 31:16Speaker 1: gotta have a guy who is willing to do that.
- 31:19Speaker 1: Jose Alvarado in the playoffs, when Wemby's doing dirty shit,
- 31:21Speaker 1: grab fucking Wemby's leg and does some dirty shit to him.
- 31:23Speaker 1: That's the only thing he can do to Wemby because
- 31:25Speaker 1: he's so small, is grabs his leg, but he did something.
- 31:28Speaker 1: Sometimes you need a guy who's just gonna be like
- 31:30Speaker 1: just that guy. How do you how do you measure that?
- 31:34Speaker 1: In analytics? Jalen Brunson, How do you measure who he
- 31:39Speaker 1: is and what he gives you? When it comes to
- 31:43Speaker 1: the way he leads a team and the way he
- 31:47Speaker 1: makes all the big shots in the big moments. You
- 31:50Speaker 1: can't always measure that. You can't measure his heart. There's
- 31:53Speaker 1: no heart. Analytics. I think we rely on it a
- 31:59Speaker 1: little bit too much. I think that it's something that
- 32:03Speaker 1: is important, but I think, specifically in basketball and in baseball,
- 32:09Speaker 1: sometimes we rely on it too much. You know, run prevention,
- 32:13Speaker 1: and you know he's not that good of a first baseman,
- 32:17Speaker 1: and he's older and he's gonna fall off any Please,
- 32:22Speaker 1: somebody tell me why replacing Peter Alonzo was the move
- 32:29Speaker 1: and replacing him with Polanco who's played like four fucking games.
- 32:33Speaker 1: But analytics. David Stearns loves his fucking analytics. How's that
- 32:37Speaker 1: working out for the Metropolitans right now? There has to
- 32:42Speaker 1: be sound baseball or basketball minds, people who watch and
- 32:49Speaker 1: understand the game, preferably, have played the game at least
- 32:53Speaker 1: at some level, coach the game at least at some level,
- 32:59Speaker 1: and they have to be making decisions depending on what
- 33:02Speaker 1: their eyeballs see. Analytics, those numbers, they are an equation.
- 33:11Speaker 1: They don't paint a picture. To paint a picture, you
- 33:16Speaker 1: need art, you need things that are hard to explain.
- 33:21Speaker 1: You need talent. Numbers don't lie, but they don't tell
- 33:26Speaker 1: the whole story. That's the problem. Bom. I know you're
- 33:31Speaker 1: a guy who definitely probably understands the analytics way more
- 33:35Speaker 1: than I do. How do you feel about, you know,
- 33:38Speaker 1: the current place that they pay, the current like, you know,
- 33:45Speaker 1: way that they affect the game and overall, like is
- 33:48Speaker 1: it too much? Is it just enough or is it
- 33:50Speaker 1: not enough?
- 33:51Speaker 2: I think it's too much personally, And I think, you know,
- 33:54Speaker 2: going back to the Sixers and Daryl Morey, I think
- 33:56Speaker 2: that has always been his fatal flaw as a ecuative.
- 34:00Speaker 2: And if you go back to the Rockets Warriors series
- 34:04Speaker 2: when he was running the show there, you know, look
- 34:07Speaker 2: who's leading I mean, first off, let's start with who
- 34:10Speaker 2: was leading each other's team, James Harden or Steph Curry.
- 34:14Speaker 2: So there's that. But the Warriors, the way they built it,
- 34:17Speaker 2: you know, analytics were a smaller part of it. It
- 34:18Speaker 2: was the people they you know, it was very different,
- 34:22Speaker 2: while the Rockets were just a fully analytics darling built
- 34:25Speaker 2: team and just chucked up a bunch of the reason
- 34:28Speaker 2: you know, analytics, robots and at the end of the day,
- 34:32Speaker 2: you know, you still they don't measure grit, they don't
- 34:33Speaker 2: measure heart, they don't there's certain It's like you said,
- 34:37Speaker 2: there's certain things that they just straight up can't measure,
- 34:41Speaker 2: and that you need intangibles. It's a big deal. They matter. Analytics.
- 34:46Speaker 2: You can take all the personality tests you want. They're
- 34:50Speaker 2: great in an office setting for salespeople. They're not great
- 34:53Speaker 2: for you know, a basketball team.
- 34:57Speaker 1: Yeah, well said, Well said. I mean, I think that
- 34:59Speaker 1: the Knicks a perfect example. And why I've even heard
- 35:02Speaker 1: some people say that, like the Knicks save the NBA
- 35:05Speaker 1: because they don't just chuck up threes. You know, they
- 35:07Speaker 1: have a bunch of good three point shooters, and I
- 35:09Speaker 1: think they were like fourth in the NBA and threes
- 35:11Speaker 1: this year, so it's not like, you know, they don't
- 35:13Speaker 1: shoot threes, but specifically in the playoffs, I think that
- 35:15Speaker 1: a lot of those teams we've seen it. We saw
- 35:17Speaker 1: with the Celtics in these last couple of years, when
- 35:19Speaker 1: you're a team that all you do is shoot threes
- 35:23Speaker 1: and the playoffs, that shit don't work. Man. It's like,
- 35:25Speaker 1: you know, you can you can get hot that one
- 35:27Speaker 1: year the Celtics had, you know, they had the right
- 35:31Speaker 1: matchups and they were hot for long enough and they
- 35:33Speaker 1: got themselves a championship and that was off of them
- 35:37Speaker 1: a lot of them shooting threes. The really the guy
- 35:39Speaker 1: who wasn't shooting threes, who was getting done in the
- 35:41Speaker 1: mid range is now gone, and that's Jalen Brown. And
- 35:45Speaker 1: you know that that that final, he was demand on
- 35:48Speaker 1: offense and he locked up Luca and y'all, motherfucker's just
- 35:51Speaker 1: traded him. That shit is crazy. But uh yeah, like
- 35:55Speaker 1: there's zero chance that two years from now Jalen Brunson
- 35:57Speaker 1: is not, you know, the nix er you're gonna get,
- 35:58Speaker 1: you know, trade him away two years after him just
- 36:00Speaker 1: winning final with m VP. I mean, Brunton, I don't
- 36:04Speaker 1: know what. I don't know what he would would have
- 36:06Speaker 1: to do. He would have to like slap the shit
- 36:08Speaker 1: out of Dolean in the middle of the garden to
- 36:10Speaker 1: get traded. I think even that even they would they
- 36:12Speaker 1: would figure that shit out before they But Brunson ever
- 36:14Speaker 1: gets traded by the Knicks, and uh yeah, the analytics conversation,
- 36:19Speaker 1: it's just too much. Man. There there's there's a there's
- 36:21Speaker 1: a place for it. There's a place for it. I mean, obviously,
- 36:23Speaker 1: you know, everybody in the world is using analytics and
- 36:26Speaker 1: in some way, shape or form or and different technology
- 36:29Speaker 1: to make their lives easier. But uh, it's it's there's
- 36:34Speaker 1: something to be said for having a plan and building
- 36:38Speaker 1: a team around the right mix of personalities and players.
- 36:43Speaker 1: And you know, the Knicks just gave the perfect example
- 36:45Speaker 1: of that. They gave like the all time example of
- 36:47Speaker 1: that of like, hey, we're just gonna bring in the
- 36:49Speaker 1: right guys. Okay, did not didn't quite work. Kemba Walker,
- 36:53Speaker 1: Evan Fonier. Now now punt on that, Okay, all right, yeah, Julius,
- 36:58Speaker 1: he's bringing us back. He's in all NBA player, Okay,
- 37:01Speaker 1: we all star, We like all that. Yeah, but you know,
- 37:04Speaker 1: personality wise, basketball fit wise, we could do better. And
- 37:08Speaker 1: cats available, Okay, gotta give up Dante too. That sucks.
- 37:11Speaker 1: But then hey, what about McHale Bridges and let's bring
- 37:14Speaker 1: this guy in and let's have this one player who
- 37:17Speaker 1: nobody believed in but we do. And wow, he's actually
- 37:20Speaker 1: even better than we thought. So we're gonna have his
- 37:22Speaker 1: dad as the coach, and we're gonna bring in all
- 37:24Speaker 1: his friends and we're gonna make it just perfect for
- 37:27Speaker 1: him and hope that we get the most out of
- 37:29Speaker 1: him and he does with us what he's done on
- 37:31Speaker 1: every level that he's ever played, which is when sounds easy, right,
- 37:36Speaker 1: it's not. It's not fucking easy, man. That's a that's
- 37:40Speaker 1: having a vision and sticking to it and and and
- 37:42Speaker 1: having a plan and and and having all roads lead
- 37:46Speaker 1: to that plan, and not making the you know, the
- 37:51Speaker 1: herky jerk move and then right when you're at the
- 37:55Speaker 1: precipice saying, Okay, our coach is good. He's got this
- 37:58Speaker 1: this far, but we need there's another level we can
- 38:00Speaker 1: get to, and unfortunately he can't get us there. I
- 38:04Speaker 1: wonder how Tibbs feels, man. I would like, I really
- 38:07Speaker 1: wonder he has to be happy for the guys, but
- 38:11Speaker 1: there's definitely he's got to be somewhat bitter too. I mean, listen,
- 38:15Speaker 1: he's laughing all the way to the bank, though. I
- 38:16Speaker 1: mean he's still getting paid, that's for sure. If I'm TIBs,
- 38:18Speaker 1: I take another year off, still get paid, maybe do
- 38:20Speaker 1: a little commentating or some shit like that. I wouldn't
- 38:22Speaker 1: even rush back into coaching if I was him. But yeah, man,
- 38:26Speaker 1: it's it's a little bit heavy handed with the analytics,
- 38:31Speaker 1: but obviously it does play a part. I'm glad that, uh,
- 38:34Speaker 1: you know, my squad is one that you know, they're
- 38:37Speaker 1: not just out here just passing around shooting threes and
- 38:41Speaker 1: you know, hoping for the best. They're out there, you know,
- 38:44Speaker 1: not just using the math, but it inflicting their own
- 38:50Speaker 1: you know, their own will on the game and on
- 38:52Speaker 1: the math. But yeah, man, Jayalen Brown, Man, he's gone.
- 38:58Speaker 1: And you know, Mitch he's no longer a nick. The
- 39:03Speaker 1: other the big, the biggest domino left the fall is
- 39:06Speaker 1: obviously Lebron. Bron is uh, you know, he's told the
- 39:13Speaker 1: Lakers he's not coming back. Everybody thought that he was
- 39:17Speaker 1: definitely gonna be on the Warriors. That was the move
- 39:20Speaker 1: Draymond opts out and now now you got the different
- 39:30Speaker 1: teams that supposedly he is considering, like twelve to fifteen teams.
- 39:36Speaker 1: According to Rich Paul, I like that show with Rich
- 39:39Speaker 1: Paul and Max Kellerman, I really do. I always like
- 39:43Speaker 1: Max Kellerman. I was always like, how was this guy
- 39:45Speaker 1: not back on TV? But he's another guy who was
- 39:47Speaker 1: getting paid for a minute after he got out, so
- 39:50Speaker 1: he was just chilling. Good for him. But I like
- 39:53Speaker 1: that show. And Rich Paul's got the white board. He's
- 39:56Speaker 1: talking about all the different teams that you know Lebron
- 39:59Speaker 1: would consider. He's saying that money is not the consideration.
- 40:03Speaker 1: It's all about the winning, you know, being with the
- 40:06Speaker 1: right team and trying to win, and also the stage.
- 40:10Speaker 1: And he also went out and just like clearly said
- 40:13Speaker 1: that he doesn't feel like, you know that if the
- 40:17Speaker 1: Knicks had lost the championship, if they wouldn't win the championship,
- 40:19Speaker 1: that would be the place. That's the place he would
- 40:21Speaker 1: want to go because of the stage. And you know
- 40:23Speaker 1: they're gonna shoot a documentary at Lebron's last year as
- 40:29Speaker 1: a Knick fan. I don't want Lebron. I don't want Lebron,
- 40:35Speaker 1: not because like, oh, like he spurned us back in
- 40:38Speaker 1: twenty nineteen, or no, I'm not on that. I'm not
- 40:41Speaker 1: on that. But what I am on when it comes
- 40:43Speaker 1: to Bron is the fact that a certain level of
- 40:48Speaker 1: ego and drama has to come with him. It just
- 40:51Speaker 1: has to. And that's what it is, and that's you know,
- 40:54Speaker 1: you know, I'm not even saying it's necessarily a negative thing.
- 40:57Speaker 1: I think that when you have a team that is
- 40:59Speaker 1: a state ablished and has a certain hierarchy, and you know,
- 41:03Speaker 1: they've just won a championship, I don't know if he
- 41:07Speaker 1: is the complimentary piece that you add. He's not a
- 41:10Speaker 1: complimentary piece. He's he's going to be extremely involved in
- 41:14Speaker 1: everything that you do. He's fucking Lebron. So then you
- 41:19Speaker 1: bring him in and what are you telling me, Josh
- 41:20Speaker 1: Hart's not coming off the bench. How's Josh gonna feel
- 41:22Speaker 1: about that? Josh didn't. He vocally was not happy when
- 41:27Speaker 1: he was coming off the bench early in the season
- 41:29Speaker 1: when when that was the thought that maybe he might
- 41:31Speaker 1: come off the bench and Papa buh, he wasn't happy
- 41:33Speaker 1: about that. Him and Mike Brown have talked about it.
- 41:35Speaker 1: They've talked about it, you know, in the post championship
- 41:37Speaker 1: and when when Mike Brown was on the Roommate show
- 41:40Speaker 1: and uh, yeah, So I don't I just think that
- 41:43Speaker 1: it's too much. I think it upsets the Apple car
- 41:45Speaker 1: too much. Now, what I do know is that Leon
- 41:50Speaker 1: Rose before he would trade for Lebron, I'm sorry, I'm sorry,
- 41:54Speaker 1: signed Lebron. He would talk to definitely Brunson. I think
- 42:00Speaker 1: he would talk to all the guys, you know, at
- 42:02Speaker 1: least all the starters about it and get their feeling
- 42:04Speaker 1: on it. And I do think that Lebron, because of
- 42:08Speaker 1: who he is, that you know, Josh Hart, that might
- 42:11Speaker 1: be the guy that Josh Hort says, okay for him,
- 42:12Speaker 1: I'll come off the bench. I'm winning six man in
- 42:14Speaker 1: the year. I could see that. I just think that
- 42:20Speaker 1: you really gotta be careful about upsetting the overall just
- 42:28Speaker 1: psyche of the team and the feeling of the locker
- 42:30Speaker 1: room basketball wise, if those guys are on board with it,
- 42:36Speaker 1: I think the Knicks would win sixty games easily, sixty
- 42:39Speaker 1: five maybe because now you allow Brunson to operate off
- 42:43Speaker 1: the ball even more, You allow him to have that
- 42:47Speaker 1: escape valve when they're all over him, to just give
- 42:49Speaker 1: Lebron the ball. Lebron the ball, Lebron be able to,
- 42:52Speaker 1: you know, get us into our offense. You can't you
- 42:56Speaker 1: can't foul. You can't foul Lebron like you foul Brunson.
- 42:59Speaker 1: The refs aren't gonna let it happen. The rest are
- 43:00Speaker 1: gonna fucking call it out. If you try to put
- 43:02Speaker 1: you two hands on Lebron's chest as she's driving past
- 43:05Speaker 1: you all the way up the court, the rest are
- 43:07Speaker 1: gonna call a fout. I'll give a fuck. Is the
- 43:08Speaker 1: playoffs in the finals or not. And you know, we
- 43:12Speaker 1: would be able to do a Mitch type thing with
- 43:15Speaker 1: Lebron where we're saying like, hey, you know, we only
- 43:17Speaker 1: need you to play this amount of minutes, and we
- 43:19Speaker 1: only need you to you know, you're not playing back
- 43:21Speaker 1: to backs and blah blah blah. We need you, you know,
- 43:23Speaker 1: healthy in April, May and June. I don't, I don't.
- 43:28Speaker 1: I don't think the Knicks need Lebron. I don't want
- 43:31Speaker 1: Lebron if it's gonna mess up the overall feeling. But
- 43:34Speaker 1: I think if the captain and you know, and his
- 43:36Speaker 1: and his guys, his lieutenants, if they agree to it,
- 43:39Speaker 1: it could be interesting.
- 43:40Speaker 2: Men.
- 43:40Speaker 1: It could be for if I'm Lebron you want to
- 43:43Speaker 1: talk about on a stage and you know your documentary
- 43:48Speaker 1: documentary look different if it's in the Garden, then if
- 43:50Speaker 1: it's as opposed to you know, in fucking Cleveland whatever
- 43:53Speaker 1: their fucking place is called. So I think that that
- 43:58Speaker 1: could be a basketball you know, at first, I was like,
- 44:01Speaker 1: absolutely not, I don' want Lebron. Why wud wean Lebron?
- 44:03Speaker 1: That That was my immediate reaction. I've thought about it.
- 44:09Speaker 1: My feeling is evolving somewhat. I feel like, yo, man,
- 44:12Speaker 1: I don't know. I could see how it can help.
- 44:16Speaker 1: I still feel like Warriors fans shouldn't want him for
- 44:20Speaker 1: reasons I've already explained, so I won't do it again.
- 44:22Speaker 1: But I don't know Lebron on the Knicks. It's interesting.
- 44:27Speaker 1: I really hope he doesn't end up in Detroit. If
- 44:30Speaker 1: he goes to Cleveland, whatever, I'm not scared. I'm never
- 44:33Speaker 1: scared of losing to a team in the playoffs that
- 44:36Speaker 1: has James Harden as one of their you know, focal players. Nah,
- 44:41Speaker 1: I don't care Lebron or no Lebron. And also the
- 44:44Speaker 1: Cleveland fan, I just don't see it.
- 44:47Speaker 2: Hey, good to jump in here because we have some
- 44:49Speaker 2: breaking Knicks news from Sean's Taranya. They have signed center
- 44:55Speaker 2: Andre Drummond to a one year, three point nine million
- 44:57Speaker 2: dollar deal.
- 45:00Speaker 1: Okay, Andre Trumming, God man, that motherfucker is old and slow. Ah,
- 45:13Speaker 1: you don't need much from him. At the end of
- 45:17Speaker 1: the day, you're asking for give me fifteen minutes, Andre,
- 45:22Speaker 1: give me fifteen I would still like to have another
- 45:25Speaker 1: like young center option, you know, somebody that you know
- 45:29Speaker 1: we're developing. I know our summer league I looked at
- 45:31Speaker 1: our summer league roster earlier. See if you can pull
- 45:34Speaker 1: up our U the NIX summer league roster bomb. But uh,
- 45:39Speaker 1: maybe one of those guys can sneak on. But I
- 45:41Speaker 1: got to see how exactly how this breaks down as
- 45:43Speaker 1: far as like with that now being added, do we
- 45:45Speaker 1: even have like like how many roster spots or do
- 45:48Speaker 1: we you know, I don't know. I don't know. Andrew, Listen,
- 45:51Speaker 1: Andre Drummond is serviceable. He's going to he's gonna protect
- 45:55Speaker 1: the rim. He can get a couple offensive rebounds. That's
- 45:59Speaker 1: really what we need. That's really what we need. We
- 46:01Speaker 1: don't need too much out Andre Rumman. It's not like
- 46:03Speaker 1: we're asking him to, you know, go out there and
- 46:07Speaker 1: you know, be the man. But we're a cat injury
- 46:10Speaker 1: away from things getting real fucking scary like that makes
- 46:14Speaker 1: me very nervous and drumming. If I ever see you
- 46:20Speaker 1: fucking shoot a three from the corner when you're on
- 46:22Speaker 1: the knicks, you better not ever do that shit. I
- 46:23Speaker 1: saw you did that shit against it in these last
- 46:25Speaker 1: couple of years. I see you every once in a
- 46:26Speaker 1: while wanting to toss a three up. No, no, no, no,
- 46:29Speaker 1: we don't do that. You do not do that here.
- 46:31Speaker 1: I don't want to see no corner three from you
- 46:32Speaker 1: Anddre dum, I don't even want to see you that
- 46:34Speaker 1: fucking far away from the basket. You should be, you know,
- 46:36Speaker 1: either rolling to the back and see. That's my issue
- 46:39Speaker 1: with Andre Drummond is that he's not a lob threat
- 46:42Speaker 1: because he's you know, he's old and he's not getting
- 46:45Speaker 1: up and down anymore. So you know, I really that's
- 46:49Speaker 1: that's to me, like it's a really underrated thing that
- 46:51Speaker 1: we're losing. Like, you know, we had that's our that's
- 46:54Speaker 1: our best lob threat, and Brunton and him were continuing
- 46:58Speaker 1: over their time to continue to build and get better
- 47:01Speaker 1: and get more chemistry with Brunts and tossing him that lob.
- 47:05Speaker 1: It's a tough one, Andre Drummond. At this point, you
- 47:08Speaker 1: had you had to sign to somebody as the backup center.
- 47:11Speaker 1: I can't wait to go on my phone when we're
- 47:13Speaker 1: done and see how fucking pissed off Nick's twitter is
- 47:16Speaker 1: about the fact that we just had it that we
- 47:18Speaker 1: ended up with Andre Drummon. Like my thing is is,
- 47:23Speaker 1: maybe you thought that the Knicks, it seems like they
- 47:25Speaker 1: had to think that they could have worked it out
- 47:27Speaker 1: with with Mitch up to some point, because if not,
- 47:31Speaker 1: then again, why trade the draft picks? Why let huk
- 47:33Speaker 1: Porty go? We could have given that three point nine
- 47:35Speaker 1: million to hok Porty. I like Huck Porty better than
- 47:38Speaker 1: Andre Drumming right now in their careers. But some of
- 47:40Speaker 1: that is just because I like, you know, Huck and
- 47:43Speaker 1: he's my guy, and you know he started here and
- 47:45Speaker 1: I've been watching him. There's a good chance that ten
- 47:47Speaker 1: games into next season, I'm like, fucking Andre Rummen is
- 47:49Speaker 1: so much better than hook Porty. We'll see, we'll see
- 47:55Speaker 1: good work there, Bomb, good work get getting getting that
- 47:57Speaker 1: to me live for sure. Bron Man. Yeah, it's gonna
- 48:01Speaker 1: be interesting to see where he ends up. You know,
- 48:03Speaker 1: I still think to me, the Warriors still make the
- 48:05Speaker 1: most sense obviously just for him and you know, warm
- 48:10Speaker 1: weather still in California all that, but the nixt minutes,
- 48:18Speaker 1: it would be interesting. It would be interesting, to say
- 48:22Speaker 1: the least for sure.
- 48:24Speaker 2: Hey, also to jump here, I'm looking at the next
- 48:26Speaker 2: summer league roster A little bit looks like they have
- 48:29Speaker 2: one seven footer. I used to play for the Bucks,
- 48:31Speaker 2: Liam Robins, so it could be a could be. You
- 48:34Speaker 2: gotta keep an eye.
- 48:35Speaker 1: On Liam Robins. I remember this guy. I've seen this
- 48:42Speaker 1: guy before. Yeah, you know, twenty five he had a
- 48:47Speaker 1: total of zero point seven points point nine rebounds, point
- 48:50Speaker 1: two assists, and he shot twenty five percent from the field. So,
- 48:55Speaker 1: uh yeah, I don't think he's making a roster quite frankly,
- 48:59Speaker 1: are you that? That's what I thought, that we had
- 49:01Speaker 1: another big man. There's no other person. That's like, there's
- 49:03Speaker 1: no there's no other big men. I thought we had
- 49:08Speaker 1: another one. I'm probably wrong.
- 49:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm seeing just a bunch of guards and wings
- 49:13Speaker 2: here just on the uh the roster, like Mohammed Diawara wing.
- 49:20Speaker 2: You got another wing in Tyler Nicol who was just
- 49:22Speaker 2: you know, picked by you guys. Another forward. Yeah, Guards,
- 49:25Speaker 2: it's really just guards and wings. Robbins is really the
- 49:27Speaker 2: holy center.
- 49:29Speaker 1: Gotcha, Drummond. I know he made the quote, he was
- 49:32Speaker 1: talking about how he was he was no longer going
- 49:34Speaker 1: to be you know, paid under his worth, but uh,
- 49:38Speaker 1: three point nine million, I guess he he and the
- 49:40Speaker 1: Nicks agree that that's his worth. Chums. Yeah, yeah, backup
- 49:46Speaker 1: for yeah, I mean listen, as a backup last year,
- 49:50Speaker 1: he did you know, he shut He got eight rebounds,
- 49:53Speaker 1: six points one point three assists on forty Let's see,
- 49:58Speaker 1: let's look at a little bit of Andre Drummon stats here.
- 50:03Speaker 1: I just feel like he's.
- 50:04Speaker 3: Just extremely underwhelming and I want to see like kind
- 50:12Speaker 3: of what his uh let's go, here we go.
- 50:15Speaker 1: So last year he played twenty minutes a game, and
- 50:17Speaker 1: that's also that's uh, that's inflated because you know, Joe
- 50:20Speaker 1: El Embiid was you know, obviously oft injured as as always,
- 50:25Speaker 1: and so therefore he was their starter at certain points
- 50:27Speaker 1: in the year. I think that, hey, listen, he was
- 50:32Speaker 1: the best of what was left and it's unfortunate, but
- 50:35Speaker 1: he will be our backup center. He's no fucking Mitchell Robinson,
- 50:38Speaker 1: that's for sure. So Nicks really gotta they gotta, uh,
- 50:42Speaker 1: they gotta figure something out there that's gonna be very interesting.
- 50:45Speaker 1: That's a big loss going from you know, Mitch to
- 50:47Speaker 1: Andre Drumman. That's a that's a very very large downgrade.
- 50:50Speaker 1: That makes me nervous, It really does, you know, especially,
- 50:53Speaker 1: but you know, I still got faith that there's something
- 50:56Speaker 1: else coming from Leon. I really do. I think Deuce
- 50:58Speaker 1: could get moved for a potential center we were trying
- 51:03Speaker 1: to get. We we've been there's a couple of different
- 51:06Speaker 1: moves that Knicks has been trying to make, and they've
- 51:09Speaker 1: talked about trades that you know, ended up not happening.
- 51:12Speaker 1: And that guy is his name, Missy, I think from
- 51:14Speaker 1: uh from New Orleans. But I think any trade like
- 51:17Speaker 1: that would have to involve Deuce, it seems, and you
- 51:22Speaker 1: know Deuce is. Deuce Is is a guy who again
- 51:27Speaker 1: he's been the Knicks for a while, spent his entire
- 51:29Speaker 1: career here. I got a lot of love for Deuce.
- 51:33Speaker 1: If it was for a capable, you know, young center
- 51:35Speaker 1: who can block a shot and snatch some rebounds, I
- 51:38Speaker 1: would move Deuce right now. Just we have we we
- 51:40Speaker 1: have enough small guards on our team. But Andre Dummen
- 51:44Speaker 1: is very underwhelming, kind of kind of brought me down
- 51:47Speaker 1: a little bit. The Mets, they still suck. Uh, the
- 51:51Speaker 1: Yankees are fucking sucking right now too, New York, New
- 51:55Speaker 1: York Sports. I've seen both Yankees fans and Mets fans
- 51:58Speaker 1: talking about how, you know, this Knicks championship is easing
- 52:01Speaker 1: their summer pain and watching our baseball teams be you know,
- 52:06Speaker 1: just not good. It's not good, and it's uh, it
- 52:09Speaker 1: doesn't look like it's gonna get any better, especially for
- 52:12Speaker 1: the Mets. You know, the only the bright spots are
- 52:15Speaker 1: the two outfielders. You know, you got Ewing and you
- 52:18Speaker 1: got bench. But other than that, there's not too much
- 52:21Speaker 1: to be excited about with the Mets. And you know,
- 52:24Speaker 1: Peter A. Lonzo is having a typical Peter Alonzo year,
- 52:27Speaker 1: and there's no possible way that you can say that
- 52:30Speaker 1: this team wouldn't be better if they had him. David sterns,
- 52:35Speaker 1: I listen, I'm always a guy. I'm not big. I'm
- 52:39Speaker 1: not a big fire this guy. Get rid of this guy.
- 52:40Speaker 1: I'm not you know, I think that you need some continuity,
- 52:44Speaker 1: and sometimes a plan takes some time to uh flesh
- 52:47Speaker 1: itself out. I'm pretty close to being over over it
- 52:52Speaker 1: when it comes to David Stearns. Yeah, pretty close to
- 52:55Speaker 1: being over with that guy overall though, Man, just uh uh,
- 53:00Speaker 1: just excited to be a champion, enjoying uh these knicks.
- 53:06Speaker 1: I feel like I'm missing something bomb What what else
- 53:09Speaker 1: do we got going on?
- 53:11Speaker 2: We currently have the World Cup going on Argentina, Argentina
- 53:15Speaker 2: leading Cape Verde one mill at halftime, and I bet
- 53:17Speaker 2: you can guess who scored for Argentina.
- 53:19Speaker 1: Jesus, this guy fucking Messy is unreal goat. He's, yeah,
- 53:24Speaker 1: legitimately the goat. The goat. But you know he's not
- 53:27Speaker 1: gonna have these numbers for too long because Bope is
- 53:29Speaker 1: on his ass already and Bape is dumb young, so
- 53:31Speaker 1: like he's not gonna have these numbers for too long.
- 53:33Speaker 1: But obviously, like you know, I think that he's to go.
- 53:37Speaker 1: You know, we last this episode, I talked about the
- 53:39Speaker 1: Him Brunson comparisons, just as far as like their dynamics
- 53:42Speaker 1: and relationship with their team. And he's just a joy
- 53:47Speaker 1: to watch. He really is. So World Cup. We've been
- 53:52Speaker 1: watching a lot of these games these last few his
- 53:54Speaker 1: last few days definitely, you know, sat there and watched
- 53:56Speaker 1: the entire US game. It sucks. It sucks because you
- 54:03Speaker 1: have this team that is looks is as good as
- 54:13Speaker 1: any US team that we've ever seen, in my opinion,
- 54:19Speaker 1: And we've been to this round of sixteen before. We've
- 54:22Speaker 1: never been able to get past that to the round
- 54:24Speaker 1: of eight. And I think this is our best chance,
- 54:28Speaker 1: but our best score. The guy who has three goals
- 54:34Speaker 1: in three games and scored the first goal against Bosnia Blugan.
- 54:41Speaker 1: He's out. Do I say his name right? How do
- 54:43Speaker 1: I say it?
- 54:46Speaker 2: It's a Florian Balligan.
- 54:48Speaker 1: Folligan, Bolligan, Belugan. I see. Having you here for just
- 54:52Speaker 1: you know, correcting me on the names alone is a
- 54:55Speaker 1: huge help because it's it's really it's really a blind
- 54:58Speaker 1: spot for me and Bolligan man Oo. The guy he's
- 55:04Speaker 1: only kind of American in the first place. He was
- 55:07Speaker 1: like born here because his mom like couldn't fly back
- 55:09Speaker 1: once she came over here when she was pregnant. You know,
- 55:12Speaker 1: he mostly grew up in England. And then you know
- 55:14Speaker 1: he's got African roots obviously. But dude is a monster.
- 55:20Speaker 1: He's big. He's the big striker type that you know
- 55:24Speaker 1: you've always seen on other people's teams, but like the
- 55:26Speaker 1: USA never has. And then Polistic is just a wizard
- 55:31Speaker 1: with the ball, extremely aggressive and even when he's not scoring,
- 55:35Speaker 1: he's opened things up for other people. And now we're
- 55:39Speaker 1: we're gonna be out with me, We're gonna we're not
- 55:41Speaker 1: gonna have bolligain And it's like yo, So like now
- 55:43Speaker 1: we get to this this stage, we're playing Belgium, who
- 55:48Speaker 1: is you know, ranked higher than we are, and we
- 55:51Speaker 1: don't have our best score. It seems like a lot
- 55:54Speaker 1: to overcome. Now down the man, we still scored a goal,
- 56:01Speaker 1: and we're able to, you know, continue to be aggressive
- 56:05Speaker 1: even though we're down a man and that man being
- 56:07Speaker 1: our best scorer. I don't understand how that's a red card.
- 56:12Speaker 1: I don't And this whole thing about like they only
- 56:15Speaker 1: show you still photos, they don't show you the whole
- 56:17Speaker 1: like video, What does that even mean? That makes no
- 56:20Speaker 1: sense to me. It makes it so hard to give
- 56:22Speaker 1: any context of what actually happened. There was absolutely no
- 56:26Speaker 1: intent at all. It's just his foot was in the
- 56:28Speaker 1: wrong place at the wrong time. Like seriously, in that point,
- 56:30Speaker 1: you want him as he's coming down to look down
- 56:32Speaker 1: and see that his foot is there and try to
- 56:34Speaker 1: like avoid it. No, that's just not realistic. Man. You know,
- 56:37Speaker 1: at the end of the day, he was in the
- 56:39Speaker 1: wrong place, wrong time. It's not even like he fell
- 56:41Speaker 1: on this guy. He just his foot just came down
- 56:44Speaker 1: on the ground, but the other guy's foot was underneath it.
- 56:48Speaker 1: And so now he's out and he's out for the
- 56:50Speaker 1: next game too. First of all, I think that they
- 56:54Speaker 1: need to have some more wiggle room within reds, Like
- 56:58Speaker 1: there's a flagrant one in a flagrant there needs to
- 57:00Speaker 1: be like a red one and a red two, so like,
- 57:03Speaker 1: you know, we can look at that and say, okay,
- 57:05Speaker 1: even though the result what it was, there was no
- 57:08Speaker 1: intent there. He's out for this match, but he's playing
- 57:10Speaker 1: the next match. And the fact that they can't even
- 57:14Speaker 1: appeal it. Initially there was a thought that they could
- 57:16Speaker 1: appeal it, but I read something today that said, no,
- 57:19Speaker 1: they can't appeal it. It can be. It can be
- 57:22Speaker 1: you can upgrade a red, but you can't downgrade and
- 57:24Speaker 1: like make it so that you know you can't play
- 57:26Speaker 1: you can play the next game. That's not even a possibility,
- 57:30Speaker 1: which is bullshit. Man, Come on, man, I'm just I'm
- 57:33Speaker 1: so disappointed that this guy now can't play in this game.
- 57:38Speaker 1: And you know what do we do? Do we make
- 57:41Speaker 1: we put more in the midfield and just make Polistic
- 57:45Speaker 1: the only striker. Do we bring Pepe in and put
- 57:48Speaker 1: him in in Bulligan's spot. I don't fucking know, but
- 57:52Speaker 1: I'm just annoyed that we have all this momentum. It's here,
- 57:58Speaker 1: it's in the US. We look as good as we
- 58:01Speaker 1: ever have, But now we gotta deal with this shit
- 58:04Speaker 1: fucking whack. I'm very disappointed in it. Boll im talking
- 58:07Speaker 1: to me, How do you feel about it?
- 58:10Speaker 2: I too thought it was a really bad call. I
- 58:14Speaker 2: also think soccer is hands out cards way too liberally
- 58:18Speaker 2: considering the consequences of them. So like when you're playing
- 58:20Speaker 2: on a yellow card, it's basically like either playing with
- 58:24Speaker 2: one tech in a basketball game, or you know how
- 58:26Speaker 2: it carries over, You're basically playing with one tech for
- 58:29Speaker 2: the rest of the test of time.
- 58:33Speaker 1: Carry over shit like my nana doesn't even reset before
- 58:35Speaker 1: the knockout round like it should. That definitely reset at
- 58:38Speaker 1: that point. That's fucking ridiculous that you gotta you get
- 58:40Speaker 1: one yellow card and you just can't. You can't. Anything
- 58:42Speaker 1: happens even if it's accidental for the rest of the
- 58:44Speaker 1: fucking thing, and you're just out. And the red card thing,
- 58:47Speaker 1: like I said, there's gotta be variants within red cards. Man,
- 58:50Speaker 1: it's fucking it's bullshit talk. And why do all refs
- 58:53Speaker 1: suck across all sports? It seems like, like why do
- 58:56Speaker 1: they all suck? In fucking I in nine to ten
- 59:01Speaker 1: basketball that I coach, my son has somebody fall on
- 59:04Speaker 1: the back of his leg, he ends up with a
- 59:06Speaker 1: broken leg, and there's no foul called. Next time I
- 59:10Speaker 1: see that ref, I'm like, hey, yo, you see that
- 59:12Speaker 1: kid over there? Yeah, you know we is. You've repped
- 59:14Speaker 1: them a bunch of times. He's the fucking best player
- 59:16Speaker 1: in the league. Guess what he's out. And on the
- 59:17Speaker 1: play that it happened, you didn't even call a foul.
- 59:19Speaker 1: And he's like, oh, well, you know it was a
- 59:22Speaker 1: loose I remember the play like it was a loose ball.
- 59:24Speaker 1: That I said, I don't care if it's a loose
- 59:25Speaker 1: ball or not. There's no situation where you can throw
- 59:29Speaker 1: your entire body weight on the back of somebody's legs
- 59:32Speaker 1: as they're running. That's always a foul. All refs suck,
- 59:38Speaker 1: all of them. I really I don't like any of them.
- 59:42Speaker 1: I really don't. Very unfortunate man, that this guy is
- 59:48Speaker 1: not able to play. But it is what it is.
- 59:51Speaker 1: It is what it is, you know. I if we
- 59:54Speaker 1: still figure out a way to beat Belgium, we still
- 59:57Speaker 1: continue that aggressive attacking style and we're able to if
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: we get a goal early first twenty minutes. I mean,
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: the fucking stadium is gonna be crazy. It's in Seattle.
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: I mean, they fucking shake that stadium and like, you know,
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: you feel it on the Richter scale scale, you know,
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: when you know, beast mode goes off or some shit
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: like that. So I'm expecting that type of atmosphere for
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: the US and I'm just hoping that we're able to
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: overcome uh, you know, the the our best, our best
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: scores absence, and be able to make it happen. But yeah,
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: it's gonna be an interesting one for sure, and I'm
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: just looking forward, like I said to uh, what the
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: atmosphere is going to be, Like, I just wish that
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: there wasn't this fucking thing in the back of my
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: head that I'm thinking about the whole time. But hey,
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: hopefully they overcome it. What else, anything else you got
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: anything else.
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: We got nothing missing, but on one Mets note though
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: obviously they trade David Peterson the Cubs. Wee can have
- 1:00:49Speaker 2: urse go. He got rocked today. Give up ten or
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: runs at about three and two thirds innings of the Cardinals.
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: Peterson's a guy who just you know, he gives you flashes,
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: he gives you thoughts where you feel like, okay, man,
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: this got Peterson. He's fucking good. He's gonna you know,
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: he's gonna turn the turn the corner and be like
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: a good, legitimate, like number two or three starter, and
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: he just it. Never he's never able to go fully
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: put it all together. He's just not and it's uh,
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: it's uh, you know, I thought maybe a change of
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: scenery could be good for him. Maybe it still can be.
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: But so far that's not a good start Tenor. That's
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: a tough one. But yeah, man, hit like hit that. Subscribe.

- 1:02:06Speaker 1: a lot of people real, you know, real opinionated about
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: you know, whether or not bron should go to the Warriors,
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: and whether or not you should be as a fan
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: you should care, and you know, blah blah blah. But
