- 0:00Speaker 1: Coming up on Relatables. What's that called.
- 0:02Speaker 2: That's called something bad, that's called like the opposite of
- 0:05Speaker 2: imposter syndrome, that's called fucking like main characters you don't
- 0:09Speaker 2: know me.
- 0:10Speaker 1: I was like, you probably said do you want to
- 0:12Speaker 1: find you?
- 0:13Speaker 3: And I played it off like because obviously they didn't
- 0:16Speaker 3: know what I was thinking. But I remember thinking, I
- 0:17Speaker 3: can't wait to tell you.
- 0:23Speaker 4: They were they were our demo and I was like,
- 0:36Speaker 4: The Relatables podcast is hosted by myself, Audie Clark akay
- 0:41Speaker 4: am my partner in crime, mister Jake Craig aka Daddy.
- 0:45Speaker 1: Yeah, boy, I wonder if we sound different. I think
- 0:48Speaker 1: we will sound a little bit more crisp. I would
- 0:51Speaker 1: assume crisp. But baddies, I know. We are audio only,
- 0:56Speaker 1: but we're going to promote it early. Go check out
- 0:59Speaker 1: the video because we're going to talk about where we're at,
- 1:02Speaker 1: what we're doing, because we're in a new studio and
- 1:06Speaker 1: it's fancy. Yeah.
- 1:08Speaker 3: So the video is eth gonna be on YouTube or
- 1:10Speaker 3: you can get it on Patreon as well. Yeah yeah, Patreon.
- 1:14Speaker 3: Peton's ad free.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Yeah. So as you hurt the start, they're not going
- 1:19Speaker 1: to be This is of course a Raw Dog episode,
- 1:23Speaker 1: just catching up with us. But we're in Melbourne, aren't we, Jake, Yeah,
- 1:26Speaker 1: we flew.
- 1:27Speaker 3: I flew from the Golden and Odd he flew from Sydney,
- 1:29Speaker 3: of course. But we are here for a conference.
- 1:33Speaker 1: A conference. I've been telling people, I've got to call
- 1:38Speaker 1: this episode out of touch. Yeah yeah, okay. You know
- 1:42Speaker 1: what's been sick is.
- 1:44Speaker 3: Last couple of weeks people have been talking about maybe,
- 1:46Speaker 3: you know, what are you getting up to?
- 1:47Speaker 1: What are you doing doing this thing Melbourne on Thursday? Oh?
- 1:51Speaker 1: Why is that a conference? I don't know why. I'm
- 1:59Speaker 1: so funny and you know it's also hilarious. Is that.
- 2:03Speaker 3: Twice someone has said, you know, I just got back
- 2:05Speaker 3: from Melvin. So then I get to go, I'm actually
- 2:07Speaker 3: going there like you're pitching you doing it too, You're like,
- 2:12Speaker 3: dog trainer comes over, crazy tangent to go on. I
- 2:16Speaker 3: don't even know, you might have to cut what out,
- 2:17Speaker 3: Like there's there's a part that you might have to
- 2:19Speaker 3: cut out.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Okay. Dog trainer comes and then he's the one that said,
- 2:26Speaker 1: like I asked how he was going.
- 2:27Speaker 3: He goes, oh, yeah, he you guys just got back
- 2:30Speaker 3: from Melbourne on the weekend. I was like, oh, yeah,
- 2:31Speaker 3: that's where I'm going on Thursday. Got to say come
- 2:33Speaker 3: for a conference and he said what do you do?
- 2:35Speaker 3: And so I was like, oh, this guy's really just
- 2:37Speaker 3: he's setting me up and just just he's throwing base.
- 2:42Speaker 3: He's throwing him and I'm hitting him like I am
- 2:44Speaker 3: the main carriacter now.
- 2:49Speaker 1: And we're talking about that pretty big, cool, cool cool. AnyWho.
- 2:53Speaker 3: So the reason we have a trainer is because Henry
- 2:54Speaker 3: is he's a good dog, like you know, out of
- 3:00Speaker 3: ten times, he's a fantastic dog. And then the one
- 3:04Speaker 3: thing we want is recalls, so which is like your
- 3:08Speaker 3: dogs are far away and you want to be able
- 3:09Speaker 3: to call him back. I could give a fuck about
- 3:14Speaker 3: anything else, Like I don't care if he sits down recall.
- 3:18Speaker 3: I just want him to have good recall, the same
- 3:20Speaker 3: as Beth, like all the other things he's so good at.
- 3:22Speaker 1: And then recall. I feel like you got a little
- 3:25Speaker 1: bit of like PTSD too, because that is don't know,
- 3:28Speaker 1: he ran away and almost just went on a tangent.
- 3:30Speaker 3: He ran away like next to a freeway and we
- 3:32Speaker 3: had to catch him.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Yeah, a bit scary.
- 3:34Speaker 3: And so we're talking about this with our trainer and
- 3:36Speaker 3: then he's given us nice and tips, he's given us
- 3:38Speaker 3: stuff to train with him. And then we go down
- 3:41Speaker 3: and the trainers leaving, we bring Henry down to meet
- 3:43Speaker 3: the trainer's dog. Yeah, he's got a really cool dog.
- 3:46Speaker 3: He's got a working line Rottweiler. It's like forty five KOs,
- 3:51Speaker 3: just full of muscle. And so he lets his dog
- 3:54Speaker 3: out of his the back of his ute. It's like
- 3:56Speaker 3: all open and stuff. And then when you let Henry
- 3:59Speaker 3: off and they're down, we live on super quiet street,
- 4:01Speaker 3: and so then they're kind of exploring and then Henry
- 4:03Speaker 3: decides he's going to go on one of these episodes
- 4:06Speaker 3: of not having any recall, and so we were like,
- 4:08Speaker 3: this is actually good to show the trailer. He was
- 4:10Speaker 3: therefore good boy. So I was kind of like sick,
- 4:13Speaker 3: and then I ended up just kind of walking and
- 4:16Speaker 3: I had to go kind of just coax him out
- 4:17Speaker 3: of a neighbor's yard. He just like goes for a
- 4:19Speaker 3: swim in there, fucking creak and shit, like he's insane.
- 4:22Speaker 3: And then we get to a point where I know
- 4:24Speaker 3: when Henry's just going to kind of follow me back now,
- 4:26Speaker 3: and so I was like, I'm happy to walk in
- 4:28Speaker 3: front of him, just back to our place. And then
- 4:31Speaker 3: so we're doing that and I kind of walk and
- 4:35Speaker 3: I just keep walking, and then I noticed that he's
- 4:37Speaker 3: caught like something has caught.
- 4:39Speaker 1: His attention in some tall grass, not a snake. And
- 4:44Speaker 1: then I see him pounce in the said tall grass
- 4:48Speaker 1: and I'm like, that better not be a bird. I
- 4:51Speaker 1: run over. This dog has a fucking bird in his
- 4:56Speaker 1: yeahs fucking brown snake. Yeah, I mean that would have
- 5:02Speaker 1: been scary. I was like, fucking, he's just in his
- 5:05Speaker 1: adolescent stage.
- 5:07Speaker 3: Ah, he's got mad prayer drive and this motherfuckering quarterbird
- 5:10Speaker 3: and now everything's going to go downhill because now he's
- 5:13Speaker 3: been fucking what is it called, Like he got rewarded
- 5:15Speaker 3: for the chase.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Now he's just gonna always chase. But the tangents that
- 5:21Speaker 1: with that. So we're at We're in Melbourne for a conference.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Where was the connection. The connection was that it reminded
- 5:31Speaker 1: me that my dog train are I thought you were
- 5:36Speaker 1: going to be like and on the way here, I
- 5:38Speaker 1: saw hectic. Yeah, so sometimes my adhd ki Yeah, we
- 5:43Speaker 1: got AnyWho I was trying to connect the that's so
- 5:46Speaker 1: odd And I was like, what are you coming on? Yeah,
- 5:50Speaker 1: we're in Melbourne, Yeah, for a conference. It's a part
- 5:54Speaker 1: of the deal we signed with Novera. Yeah, so very
- 5:57Speaker 1: excited to be here. They want us to go in
- 5:59Speaker 1: front of kind of some people. We're going on stage
- 6:02Speaker 1: and we're nervous. Yeah, but this is a bit of
- 6:06Speaker 1: a fun episode, but we are here for a purpose, Jake,
- 6:09Speaker 1: and we thought we could maybe practice in front of
- 6:13Speaker 1: the baddies. Yeah, what we're doing tonight on stage in
- 6:16Speaker 1: front of Picture Picture This baddies. I actually don't know
- 6:19Speaker 1: what it's going to be like, but this is what
- 6:20Speaker 1: I'm picturing. A stage and there's a comedian on stage
- 6:25Speaker 1: showing everyone like everything that's going on throughout the night,
- 6:27Speaker 1: throughout the night, and we're just a little segment ten minutes.
- 6:30Speaker 1: Relatables come up, and we come up, and then there's
- 6:32Speaker 1: three hundred people all in suits and like dressed up
- 6:35Speaker 1: really nicely and like all just came from like the
- 6:37Speaker 1: CBD and shit, yeah yeah, and they're like, this is
- 6:40Speaker 1: the Relatables podcast. Cue the questions. So this is literally
- 6:46Speaker 1: like we so where this is what's the word? This
- 6:50Speaker 1: might be not the greatest word to use for I
- 6:52Speaker 1: can't really think of a better word. But where sort
- 6:57Speaker 1: of pouring ourselves out to the spenders? Is that a
- 7:01Speaker 1: good way to use that? I can do better than that? Surely,
- 7:06Speaker 1: woring we are showcasing ourselves.
- 7:10Speaker 3: Yes, we're showcasing ourselves out to the money SPENDERSA and
- 7:14Speaker 3: so it's.
- 7:15Speaker 1: Like we exist spend money on our podcast. Actually I
- 7:18Speaker 1: actually want to do something, so yeah, can you answer? Sorry,
- 7:22Speaker 1: can you ask me the first question? And I want
- 7:25Speaker 1: to answer it as adhd Jake first?
- 7:27Speaker 3: Oh, okay, okay, So we got sent three questions that
- 7:31Speaker 3: this comedian who's kind of running the show will ask
- 7:33Speaker 3: us in front of three hundred people my day.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Yeah, number one, how did you two meet?
- 7:39Speaker 3: Was it in the bath or somewhere slightly more formal?
- 7:42Speaker 1: Mind? You you are in suits? I guess should we
- 7:45Speaker 1: preface why that question said something about bats? Oh? Because
- 7:48Speaker 1: our logo? Yeah? Yeah, go suits in baths? All right?
- 7:52Speaker 1: So let me be Jake first. Yeah, so we actually
- 7:56Speaker 1: met in school year seven, and we surprisingly weren't friends.
- 8:02Speaker 1: I had another friend though, Yeah, talking about friends, his
- 8:07Speaker 1: name is JJ. She wouldn't know about JJ talking about
- 8:11Speaker 1: J so once so I was just and then I
- 8:16Speaker 1: think when they told us that we're on.
- 8:18Speaker 3: The have ten minutes, and then they sent us three questions.
- 8:20Speaker 3: I was going to say, are you sure. I don't
- 8:22Speaker 3: think they're all going to get answered? All right, now
- 8:25Speaker 3: go again. Let's try to do it, to do it
- 8:27Speaker 3: together too. So the question, the first question is how
- 8:30Speaker 3: did you two meet? Was it in the bath or
- 8:32Speaker 3: somewhere slightly more formal? Mind you, you are in suits,
- 8:35Speaker 3: I guess. So this is what the comedian has been
- 8:37Speaker 3: like sent.
- 8:37Speaker 1: To ask us in front of these people. We didn't
- 8:39Speaker 1: meet in the bath, but we've been in there more
- 8:41Speaker 1: than once. I'll say that, Oh that was good. That's good.
- 8:44Speaker 3: I was going to say, believe it or not, we
- 8:45Speaker 3: met on that shuit. Believe it or not, we actually
- 8:48Speaker 3: met there.
- 8:49Speaker 1: We're on the street, and today it's like, you two
- 8:51Speaker 1: look like you can have a good shot together drinking.
- 8:55Speaker 1: All the baddies know how we actually met? Surely by
- 8:57Speaker 1: now yeah? Yeah, oh no, I'm not lest you yeah.
- 8:59Speaker 3: True.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Actually, so we went to the same high school. Jake
- 9:02Speaker 1: came from a different primary school, Evoker, and then I
- 9:06Speaker 1: came from Cincomber. If you're a coasty local, and we
- 9:08Speaker 1: weren't friends, different friendship groups. Jake had big calves, what
- 9:13Speaker 1: was your If you could describe me with like one
- 9:15Speaker 1: or two words, what could it be.
- 9:18Speaker 3: One or two words describe body? When I was in
- 9:20Speaker 3: year seven, we didn't know seven. Yeah, okay, like your
- 9:23Speaker 3: big calves.
- 9:24Speaker 1: That's all I know.
- 9:24Speaker 3: I want to say one word sweat, sweat to try hard.
- 9:34Speaker 1: I was, I'll give her. I was a try hard
- 9:36Speaker 1: And now you're talking like school like sports. Yeah, sports, yeah,
- 9:40Speaker 1: try hard. I mean it's just funny.
- 9:44Speaker 3: Yeah, some people would love fucking I think I the
- 9:47Speaker 3: reason I didn't try hard on sports because I was
- 9:48Speaker 3: like not great at it. You know how people get
- 9:51Speaker 3: like being a sweat at something is like to say
- 9:54Speaker 3: you're a try hard and people use it as an insult.
- 9:57Speaker 1: It's just a bit like you're saying, like your fucking
- 10:00Speaker 1: lame for trying hard.
- 10:02Speaker 3: If you like, when you're a kid and someone like
- 10:05Speaker 3: so say, ohie was good at sport, good at doing
- 10:07Speaker 3: like the beet test and stuff, which is also kind
- 10:09Speaker 3: of torture.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Anyway, and everyone's kind of like where I would to
- 10:12Speaker 1: try hard, it's like, oh, under saying I copped that
- 10:13Speaker 1: all through. You're bullying a kid for trying hard. I mean,
- 10:16Speaker 1: actually I have like, what are you talking about deeping
- 10:19Speaker 1: it too, Like I don't know. Something within my mentality
- 10:21Speaker 1: as a kid was like, I don't know, how did
- 10:24Speaker 1: you like show worth for yourself? How did I show
- 10:29Speaker 1: worth for myself as a kid? Yeah, Like my worth
- 10:32Speaker 1: came from like being good at something and other people
- 10:34Speaker 1: knowing that I'm good at probably not healthy. Oh wait,
- 10:37Speaker 1: so your worth is like is your worth like if
- 10:40Speaker 1: I would make it like a good team or I
- 10:42Speaker 1: beat everyone in a race, like I felt good. That
- 10:44Speaker 1: made you feel good? Yeah yeah, yeah, like that's why
- 10:45Speaker 1: I did it, Like I reckon, I felt worthy. M
- 10:50Speaker 1: I reckon.
- 10:50Speaker 3: I was a bit of a people pleaser from the beginning.
- 10:52Speaker 3: Hmmm when I was a kid, how did you please them?
- 10:55Speaker 1: Though? Because you didn't try You didn't try hard in school?
- 10:59Speaker 3: No, at school, I don't think people pleasing was a thing.
- 11:02Speaker 3: I think at home there was a bit more like
- 11:03Speaker 3: that was when people pleasing was a thing. Maybe with friends,
- 11:06Speaker 3: slightly people pleasing. But then at school, the way.
- 11:08Speaker 1: I showed my worth was being the kid that was
- 11:12Speaker 1: kind of always told to stop talking. I remember, I
- 11:15Speaker 1: remember the only class. I think we had two classes
- 11:19Speaker 1: to get two classes together. Honestly, this is bringing me
- 11:22Speaker 1: back year seven or eight. We had English together and
- 11:27Speaker 1: history together. Jake wasn't a bad kid. Now, I never
- 11:33Speaker 1: thought he was a bad kid, and we weren't friends.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Like we would talk here and there if the girl
- 11:36Speaker 1: would sarp for whatever, talking about basketball or some ship,
- 11:39Speaker 1: and then the teachers fucking hated him some Kay, He's
- 11:43Speaker 1: actually what I've always actually kind of thought this as well.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Like I will say, once a teacher asked me to
- 11:50Speaker 1: stop doing something, it made me want to do it
- 11:52Speaker 1: more right, which is annoying and immature cool, But like
- 11:57Speaker 1: what I couldn't really, what I can't ask at least
- 12:00Speaker 1: is the fact that like, you are minimum thirty to
- 12:06Speaker 1: thirty five arguing with a thirteen year old fucking kid
- 12:13Speaker 1: right knowing that they're rage baiting you, and you're still yelling.
- 12:18Speaker 1: I have never understood that it's something about your face.
- 12:22Speaker 2: Yeah, one time we had a history teacher tell me
- 12:25Speaker 2: I remember this to get a.
- 12:26Speaker 1: One way ticket back to Canada. Imagine saying that to
- 12:30Speaker 1: a student. I remember walking into History. I don't think
- 12:34Speaker 1: everybody even sat down yet. I don't know what he did.
- 12:37Speaker 1: He like maybe like put his pencil case down, or
- 12:40Speaker 1: like tap someone on the shoulder and the teacher was
- 12:42Speaker 1: just like, Jake Gray, get out. It was like one time,
- 12:47Speaker 1: this same teacher. That was that time, right, Yeah, the
- 12:51Speaker 1: whole class.
- 12:52Speaker 3: I remember the reason why he yelled so loud that
- 12:54Speaker 3: it's like scard into my brain.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Yeah. I was sitting next to one of our friends,
- 12:57Speaker 1: liams Gone, and we were.
- 12:59Speaker 3: Watching something on World War two and it was specifically
- 13:04Speaker 3: about something to do with the Japanese side of the
- 13:06Speaker 3: World War two. And this teacher saw me giggling with
- 13:12Speaker 3: our friend Liam, right, and he gets up and I
- 13:15Speaker 3: remember as well, he pointed with two fingers for some reason,
- 13:17Speaker 3: and I thought it was the weirdest thing. Anyway, he
- 13:18Speaker 3: was in a bit of a rush. He points with
- 13:20Speaker 3: two fingers, says Jake, get out, and I was like,
- 13:24Speaker 3: I was scared. The whole class was like what, I
- 13:26Speaker 3: get out? He walks me out of the class and
- 13:28Speaker 3: he goes, come here. He makes me look at a
- 13:30Speaker 3: brick wall and says, don't move until I come back
- 13:33Speaker 3: and come back.
- 13:34Speaker 1: To the bell. Did he come back to the bell?
- 13:36Speaker 1: I was like, what am I to stand out of
- 13:37Speaker 1: a brick wall? I was like, I could leave right now.
- 13:39Speaker 1: I'm an unattended child and the doors are open, I
- 13:42Speaker 1: could leave the school. I was a ship. But still
- 13:47Speaker 1: I remember a tip for any of the young baddi's
- 13:49Speaker 1: out there, if he want teachers to like you, do
- 13:53Speaker 1: good work, because I had a weird, such a different
- 13:59Speaker 1: experience in school. I had a good relationship with that
- 14:04Speaker 1: same teacher. I really want. I don't know if it's
- 14:07Speaker 1: like a Hollywood type vibe, you know how when people
- 14:12Speaker 1: like do something cool and then the school invites you
- 14:14Speaker 1: back or whatever. Well, yeah, what or like I don't
- 14:16Speaker 1: know if I'm combining like a ten year reunion or
- 14:19Speaker 1: some ship. I no, no, I know what you're talking about. Yeah,
- 14:22Speaker 1: I want to like be invited back to talk to
- 14:25Speaker 1: and like talk and like everything that we have done
- 14:28Speaker 1: is the opposite of what school teaches you. And like
- 14:31Speaker 1: I really want you to like call out like a
- 14:33Speaker 1: couple of teachers and hopefull they're still there. Yeah, Okay,
- 14:36Speaker 1: I'm gonna stop talking. Yeah, I do it for a job,
- 14:38Speaker 1: but I'm gonna call out mister Paz, who I know
- 14:41Speaker 1: you also loved you. Yeah, yeah, he he lived in
- 14:43Speaker 1: the same suburbs we were boys. I loved him. He
- 14:46Speaker 1: actually okay, mister he did the same thing to me.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Hated me. But I don't know.
- 14:51Speaker 3: I think like, just like a mass teacher. I think, yeah,
- 14:53Speaker 3: he was a math teacher. I think I was just kind.
- 14:55Speaker 3: I just like spoke a lot and it got under
- 14:57Speaker 3: the pit their skin. I guess like I would have
- 14:58Speaker 3: been pretty annoying and then they would send me out
- 15:01Speaker 3: of class. But then one time I got sent out
- 15:03Speaker 3: of class because I pulled a thread out of my jumper,
- 15:06Speaker 3: and I think it got to the point where it
- 15:07Speaker 3: was just like anything I did do pissed them off. AnyWho,
- 15:11Speaker 3: When I at the end of year ten, my parents,
- 15:15Speaker 3: they weren't too happy with my grades. I don't think
- 15:18Speaker 3: I actually failed anything, but I was kind of just
- 15:20Speaker 3: like a passing kid, like I didn't I knew I
- 15:22Speaker 3: didn't want to go to union and stuff, and so
- 15:25Speaker 3: end of year ten comes around and get my report
- 15:27Speaker 3: card and I'm like, fuck, yeah, year eleven and twelve
- 15:30Speaker 3: was gonna be hecticlient.
- 15:31Speaker 1: Just like you know, still living at high ever be
- 15:33Speaker 1: one of those kids he doesn't like to do any
- 15:35Speaker 1: HC subjects.
- 15:35Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, just I literally had I chosen subjects, none
- 15:38Speaker 3: of them my HC. I was just gonna do woodwork.
- 15:40Speaker 3: That was my favorite one. Like just I was going
- 15:41Speaker 3: to cruise for the next two years. And my parents
- 15:44Speaker 3: got no, no, no, no, no, Now we don't like this.
- 15:46Speaker 3: We've got an interview for you at this private school.
- 15:49Speaker 3: Oh and this is like I'm so spoilt. They were
- 15:52Speaker 3: going to spend the money to send me to a
- 15:53Speaker 3: private school, but it was this like fancy fancy grammar.
- 15:56Speaker 1: Yeah, yea, yeah, I don't think it's that much. No no, no, no, no,
- 16:04Speaker 1: I think it's like twenty a lot. Still, oh yeah,
- 16:07Speaker 1: I manage just.
- 16:08Speaker 3: Their kids there just goes to show actually we might
- 16:10Speaker 3: be paying them. But so my parents take me to
- 16:15Speaker 3: this this interview, and that the vice principals in there.
- 16:20Speaker 3: My parents are in there, and I didn't want to
- 16:22Speaker 3: go to this school.
- 16:23Speaker 1: Have you told me this? I've done enough. I've told
- 16:24Speaker 1: you this. But I thought you were going to go
- 16:26Speaker 1: to Eddie's like school.
- 16:28Speaker 3: Now they got me an interview to grammar and through
- 16:31Speaker 3: my tutor. By the way, my tutor used to like
- 16:34Speaker 3: I used to do Yeah, bro, I used to tutoring.
- 16:38Speaker 1: What are you doing this? You go to school six
- 16:43Speaker 1: hours a day and you still need more help?
- 16:49Speaker 3: But no, I was in the interview, and I was,
- 16:55Speaker 3: I guess sixteen, and just like I didn't want to
- 16:58Speaker 3: go to the school. So I thought, yeah, I'm gonna
- 17:00Speaker 3: I'm fighting this. Yeah, I'm fighting this. I just like
- 17:02Speaker 3: didn't speak the whole interview. My parents spoke the whole time.
- 17:05Speaker 3: They were looking at naplan results. They weren't good AnyWho.
- 17:09Speaker 3: The teacher looks at me. The principal looks at me
- 17:11Speaker 3: and goes, do you want to go to the school?
- 17:12Speaker 3: And I said nah, and she goes, I just don't
- 17:14Speaker 3: think it can be a good fit for my parents.
- 17:16Speaker 3: Their parents didn't even get mad at me. They started
- 17:19Speaker 3: fighting on the on the walk back to the car park.
- 17:21Speaker 3: I'm pretty sure, like I think maybe my mom, like
- 17:24Speaker 3: my stepmom, she might have said like, well, we can
- 17:26Speaker 3: send him back to like Kingkoma, that's where he wants
- 17:28Speaker 3: to go. And my dad was like in one I
- 17:30Speaker 3: think they were arguing about something. And then but from
- 17:32Speaker 3: the walk from the fucking office, we were into my
- 17:36Speaker 3: dad's car. Before I get in the car that I
- 17:38Speaker 3: think we were like he had decided, He's like, you're
- 17:41Speaker 3: leaving school, you're doing a carpentry.
- 17:45Speaker 1: It's your only option. To be fair he did ask.
- 17:47Speaker 1: He's like, do you want to leave school and do
- 17:48Speaker 1: a carpentry?
- 17:49Speaker 3: I said, yeah, she gave me the choice because I'm
- 17:52Speaker 3: pretty sure. He still said, if you stay at school,
- 17:54Speaker 3: you're not going back.
- 17:55Speaker 1: That's so interesting. That was one question. We got two more. This,
- 18:00Speaker 1: this is, this is, this is what we've got to
- 18:02Speaker 1: do tonight. We've got to whittle it down a little bit,
- 18:05Speaker 1: don't we wait? Was that an answer to one? How'd
- 18:08Speaker 1: we meet? We didn't even talk about how we met.
- 18:13Speaker 3: We met out school when the year said that started
- 18:16Speaker 3: that story is when we met?
- 18:17Speaker 1: Well, we don't remember it. Literally find the most funny
- 18:20Speaker 1: thing being Jake's last name is Craig. My last name's Clark.
- 18:24Speaker 1: We had I think two people in between us in
- 18:27Speaker 1: role call, which is what you had to go do
- 18:28Speaker 1: in Australian high school, and they're like, Jake Craig, you're here.
- 18:34Speaker 1: Never talked to each other. I was like, I forgot
- 18:36Speaker 1: about that. I assume we would have spoken. Yeah, I
- 18:39Speaker 1: remember because I sat next to a certain girl the
- 18:41Speaker 1: whole time. No, it was only one person, because you
- 18:43Speaker 1: sat next to the same to Sarah Carter Crakan young. Yes,
- 18:50Speaker 1: dropping today, care come on young friend of the podcast.
- 18:54Speaker 1: Let's start doing that, friend of the podcast. If we
- 18:56Speaker 1: saw Battie out there and her name's Sarah, Sarah friend
- 18:59Speaker 1: of the podcast, do.
- 19:00Speaker 3: We know any sarahs friends of the podcram, maybe there
- 19:03Speaker 3: would be Sarah's I assume, shout out to you guys. Okay,
- 19:07Speaker 3: next question, I want to talk about the baddies. Who
- 19:10Speaker 3: are the baddies? I have never heard of a group
- 19:12Speaker 3: of straight men referred to by the collective term baddies.
- 19:16Speaker 3: So I'm going to go out on a limb here
- 19:17Speaker 3: and say your audience is women. Was that always the intention?
- 19:21Speaker 1: If we could put him in his spot right there,
- 19:23Speaker 1: I was gonna say, say, what could we say to
- 19:28Speaker 1: this one? Yeah, we could say, like we are inclusive.
- 19:32Speaker 1: You don't have to be or you don't have to
- 19:35Speaker 1: be a woman to be a baddie. No, not at all.
- 19:36Speaker 1: We include everybody. We include everyone. But do we want
- 19:40Speaker 1: the actual story or I've actually never thought of it
- 19:42Speaker 1: as being weird. I just thought it was a cool name.
- 19:44Speaker 3: I thought it was a cool name as well, because
- 19:46Speaker 3: the story I'm pretty sure is someone signed off either
- 19:48Speaker 3: a dilemma or a phone call by saying.
- 19:50Speaker 1: Like we had a video sent in and she said
- 19:52Speaker 1: stay Bad, and I was like, let's end the episode
- 19:55Speaker 1: just stay bad. That for a couple of weeks, and
- 19:57Speaker 1: then baddies from Stay Bad just connected.
- 19:59Speaker 3: Pretty sure that one time we answered a dilemma and
- 20:03Speaker 3: you said like, well, obviously our audience are all baddies. Yeah,
- 20:08Speaker 3: and then we were like, the baddies that's pretty sick.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Yeah. So I think that's where it came from, and
- 20:14Speaker 1: then it stuck answer. I've always i have always thought
- 20:16Speaker 1: it's a.
- 20:16Speaker 3: Bit like if we have a clip posted on Instagram
- 20:19Speaker 3: and we're two white men and we refer to the
- 20:24Speaker 3: audience as like, you know, the baddies have sent this
- 20:26Speaker 3: in or something in the clip. I've always thought like,
- 20:28Speaker 3: if someone watches that, are they like, what are they
- 20:31Speaker 3: fucking talking about?
- 20:32Speaker 1: True context.
- 20:33Speaker 3: I kind of like that though, too, because like it
- 20:35Speaker 3: almost makes you want to be part of the group
- 20:36Speaker 3: a bit.
- 20:37Speaker 1: Yeah, and you're like judging a book by its cover.
- 20:38Speaker 1: If you think that's weird, you know, actually want to
- 20:42Speaker 1: be a bad.
- 20:42Speaker 3: One of my favorite things is every now and then,
- 20:44Speaker 3: if if we say something that's like we don't really
- 20:46Speaker 3: say any controversial things, if we do say something like
- 20:49Speaker 3: controversial and someone says something in the comments and then the.
- 20:52Speaker 1: Baddies will come to is you know I've got our back? Yeah?
- 20:55Speaker 1: I think it's like, do you even know who this is? Yeah?
- 20:59Speaker 1: Because people judge, people do judge. Okay, last one, Wait
- 21:03Speaker 1: did we answer that? Yeah? Yeah.
- 21:05Speaker 3: Relatables is about dating and decoding the talking stage, all
- 21:09Speaker 3: with the ambition of starting a healthy relationship. But I
- 21:13Speaker 3: see from stalking you on Instagram that you've both already
- 21:15Speaker 3: done that, You've graduated from your own love academy even
- 21:19Speaker 3: without OSHA's Help's help. What keeps you turning up to
- 21:24Speaker 3: record every week?
- 21:25Speaker 1: Oh that's the guy I used to I'm just kidding
- 21:29Speaker 1: that he's the host radio Bachelor and now he signed no.
- 21:34Speaker 1: But that's why, Ahine, I didn't know when to shop. Yeah. Actually,
- 21:42Speaker 1: funny story with that. When we were thinking about names
- 21:45Speaker 1: for the podcast, there was two that came to mind.
- 21:50Speaker 1: Jake came up with both of them. We're both single
- 21:52Speaker 1: at the time. One was undtables and the other one
- 21:55Speaker 1: was relatables.
- 21:55Speaker 3: No. Actually I never wanted to call it undatables. But
- 21:58Speaker 3: where I got the name relatables was because when he
- 22:00Speaker 3: came to me with the idea. He said, bro, let's
- 22:02Speaker 3: start a podcast, all right?
- 22:03Speaker 1: As all, I'm a master plan.
- 22:10Speaker 3: He came to me at the gym one day when
- 22:11Speaker 3: we were pumping eye all right high on pre workout,
- 22:15Speaker 3: and he said, bro, we should start a podcast.
- 22:18Speaker 1: I have the best idea, mind blowing, never heard of
- 22:21Speaker 1: it before.
- 22:22Speaker 3: And so I was like cool, and he goes like,
- 22:26Speaker 3: this is the concept out in my head, Like, I
- 22:27Speaker 3: think it would work because we are at similar stages,
- 22:30Speaker 3: we have spoken heaps, we can have good conversations. And
- 22:33Speaker 3: then also I do think that we would be relatable.
- 22:37Speaker 3: And so he was like, I wanted to be a
- 22:39Speaker 3: relatable thing to listen to.
- 22:40Speaker 1: Did I say that you did? I'm a genius?
- 22:42Speaker 3: And then and then we were thinking about names and
- 22:44Speaker 3: we sent like text back and forth. We just had
- 22:47Speaker 3: I remember, we came up a bunch of random ones
- 22:48Speaker 3: and then nothing get stuck that nothing hit And then
- 22:51Speaker 3: I was like, oh, have you ever heard of the
- 22:54Speaker 3: you know, the show Love on the Spectrum a while
- 22:58Speaker 3: ago in the UK they used to call it the Undatables,
- 23:00Speaker 3: which is crazy, but what about if we were the relatables?
- 23:03Speaker 1: And then that hire yea god, I don't remember that. Yeah,
- 23:11Speaker 1: can we say that.
- 23:12Speaker 3: Yeah, that's not the question, though, what was the question?
- 23:14Speaker 3: The question is just why do we keep recording every week?
- 23:17Speaker 3: Because we have girlfriends?
- 23:19Speaker 1: Oh? Why wouldn't we here?
- 23:20Speaker 3: Okay wait, okay, his whole his whole question is relatables
- 23:25Speaker 3: is about dating and decutting in the talking stage or
- 23:27Speaker 3: with the ambition of starting healthy relationship. And then he goes,
- 23:29Speaker 3: I see you have girlfriends, blah blah blah. How come
- 23:32Speaker 3: you record every week?
- 23:32Speaker 1: Now? Yeah?
- 23:33Speaker 3: Yeah, we could be like so, because we have girlfriends,
- 23:35Speaker 3: we shouldn't record.
- 23:36Speaker 1: Yeah, what I want to put him on his story.
- 23:38Speaker 3: I wouldn't mind being like so, because we have girlfriends,
- 23:41Speaker 3: we shouldn't record the podcast.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Yeah, what are you talking about? He's looking at I
- 23:45Speaker 1: could see his point of view, but it's wrong. I
- 23:46Speaker 1: assume that he didn't ask that question. True, true, true, true,
- 23:49Speaker 1: But we record the podcast one because we love it.
- 23:52Speaker 1: But I was thinking about it recently, and I don't
- 23:55Speaker 1: know if we're like why do I think? No, no, no, no,
- 23:57Speaker 1: no no no like that. I was kind of having
- 23:59Speaker 1: like a into me moment, and I was reading some
- 24:01Speaker 1: comments and people will saying like, I love this podcast.
- 24:04Speaker 1: I listened every single week, and it's like the highlight
- 24:05Speaker 1: of my week, and I listen as soon as it
- 24:07Speaker 1: comes out. Don't know, It's like when you it's a
- 24:10Speaker 1: hard relationship to feel when me and Jake obviously have
- 24:14Speaker 1: a normal relationship. Normals not the right word, but you'll
- 24:17Speaker 1: see where I land. And then tens of thousands of
- 24:20Speaker 1: baddies who listen, and to have a voice which could
- 24:23Speaker 1: potentially help will impact so many people is so cool.
- 24:27Speaker 1: I find it. It's such a hard thing to grasp
- 24:30Speaker 1: from Jake or I's point of view. Yeah, but it's
- 24:32Speaker 1: such a cool thing. And when people will say like,
- 24:33Speaker 1: oh it makes me smile, h blah blah blah blah,
- 24:36Speaker 1: I have this like oh this like this makes me
- 24:38Speaker 1: feel amazing.
- 24:39Speaker 3: Yeah, fair, I think I would I need to like
- 24:42Speaker 3: take those moments in more.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Yeah, especially with I was gonna say that this episode
- 24:46Speaker 1: is raw dog and it's all lighthearted and shit, especially
- 24:49Speaker 1: in like today's times, like life is fucking hard, like
- 24:53Speaker 1: so hard, especially as like a young person in Australia
- 24:56Speaker 1: or anywhere, and like if we can provide an hour
- 24:58Speaker 1: forty five minutes of like gape isn't where you don't
- 25:00Speaker 1: have to think about fucking anything to do with life,
- 25:03Speaker 1: or you're doing something you don't want to be doing.
- 25:05Speaker 1: That's what I love about it. If you're on the train,
- 25:06Speaker 1: or you're just at work and you hate what you're doing,
- 25:09Speaker 1: or if you're cleaning and then were in your ears,
- 25:11Speaker 1: you've got a little giggle, and then then that hour
- 25:13Speaker 1: feels like five minutes, that's what I love.
- 25:15Speaker 3: Yeah, true, I will say it. Sometimes I listen to
- 25:17Speaker 3: podcasts to make time go by quicker.
- 25:18Speaker 1: That's that's the only time I do it, because it
- 25:20Speaker 1: feels like, I guess how I view the baddies is
- 25:23Speaker 1: one of it. There's one other person in the room
- 25:25Speaker 1: and another that's another friend.
- 25:27Speaker 3: Yeah, I would hope that it's like everyone feels as
- 25:30Speaker 3: though they're part of the conversation.
- 25:31Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree. My The thing I hate the most
- 25:33Speaker 1: about podcasts.
- 25:34Speaker 3: I and and I just know that the baddies scream
- 25:39Speaker 3: into their phone or their car or whatever there is.
- 25:42Speaker 3: If I'm listening to a podcast and they're talking about
- 25:44Speaker 3: something I know about, yeah, right, and then they get
- 25:47Speaker 3: something completely wrong, and I'm like, I wish I could
- 25:50Speaker 3: just call these motherfuckers all the time, not me, And
- 25:52Speaker 3: then so okay, for instance, with the book club. Remember
- 25:56Speaker 3: when Remember when they were calling me out on my
- 25:59Speaker 3: pronunciations and I was like, everyone funk off with the
- 26:01Speaker 3: pronunciations thing, A're gonna help me?
- 26:03Speaker 1: Right? And so, and I've been listening to.
- 26:08Speaker 3: Shits and gigs and James does a book club and
- 26:10Speaker 3: he's reading Akatar and he keeps on calling Printhian paranthean really,
- 26:14Speaker 3: and I'm.
- 26:15Speaker 1: Like, do you know how to read? What are you
- 26:17Speaker 1: reading that I wasn't reading? It's obviously you freaking idiot.
- 26:22Speaker 1: It's so weird. But you can't call him out. But
- 26:25Speaker 1: I can't call him out because I'm listening to something
- 26:27Speaker 1: that's recorded two fucking weeks ago, exactly exactly. It's it's
- 26:31Speaker 1: a parasocial relationship and it's so weird. But we're here
- 26:35Speaker 1: in Melbourne. We're excited for tonight.
- 26:37Speaker 3: Melbourne's cool, the city of I don't know the city
- 26:41Speaker 3: for us. It's a city of business. It's all we've
- 26:42Speaker 3: ever done here.
- 26:42Speaker 1: Yeah, we've came here three times for the podcast and
- 26:45Speaker 1: Jake came here once for Coldplay. Do you ever like
- 26:48Speaker 1: I have? I've been getting it so much more, I
- 26:51Speaker 1: said it recently to Sonda. Yeah, yeah, like I just
- 26:54Speaker 1: fully can't comprehend in my mind all the people, especially
- 26:57Speaker 1: when you do a trip by this thing you go
- 26:58Speaker 1: to like the middle of Sydney or like middle of
- 27:00Speaker 1: Melbourne or whatever, and all these people had their own lives.
- 27:02Speaker 1: It sounds so fucking dumb. I was at the train station,
- 27:05Speaker 1: had to be fucking three hundred people around me. I
- 27:08Speaker 1: was like, what are you doing? Yeah, like, are you
- 27:09Speaker 1: real or you he was simulation? Just here so I
- 27:12Speaker 1: can see you. Yeah, you're an NPC in my Yeah.
- 27:14Speaker 1: And then I saw someone who we went to school with.
- 27:16Speaker 1: I didn't know what, like, I knew it faced and
- 27:18Speaker 1: I was like, how are you here at the same
- 27:19Speaker 1: time that I am. I haven't seen you in five years?
- 27:21Speaker 1: Like this is just crazy to me. It just blows
- 27:23Speaker 1: my mind sometimes, I like, sometimes I think God exists
- 27:26Speaker 1: for that reason. How so I don't know. Sometimes I
- 27:29Speaker 1: think just like they planted them, Yeah, like how could
- 27:31Speaker 1: this be random?
- 27:32Speaker 3: And then so much sense that it's random, like because
- 27:35Speaker 3: the argument of the Big Bang, I think is as
- 27:37Speaker 3: far fetched as the argument of you.
- 27:39Speaker 1: Reckond God existing. In my opinion, I think the Big
- 27:41Speaker 1: Bang's real. Eight So that's what I think happened. Scientist
- 27:46Speaker 1: with a big bang.
- 27:47Speaker 3: I also think that that is like, how can you
- 27:52Speaker 3: tell don't tell me that. You can just look at
- 27:54Speaker 3: fucking gamma rays. You can see the edge of the
- 27:56Speaker 3: universe science Jake, see.
- 27:59Speaker 1: Like, Okay, also have something else to say that could
- 28:02Speaker 1: potentially need to be cut out. Okay, my life hard. Yeah,
- 28:05Speaker 1: I'm sorry this but this could be like a good take.
- 28:09Speaker 1: Yeah all right, I'll leave it in. The reason that
- 28:12Speaker 1: I think God is a man is because crazy statement.
- 28:18Speaker 1: Let me land. The reason I.
- 28:20Speaker 3: Believe that God is a man if he exists is
- 28:23Speaker 3: because if God was a woman, I would believe because
- 28:29Speaker 3: she would have done it right.
- 28:30Speaker 1: Oh damn, Like, let's be real. I know, I know
- 28:34Speaker 1: it's a bit overwhelming because I was listening to the.
- 28:36Speaker 3: Radio on the drive home from the studio yesterday, and
- 28:40Speaker 3: I think someone said something about like God and said,
- 28:42Speaker 3: you know he does this, and the other host said
- 28:44Speaker 3: it could be a woman, And then I was thinking,
- 28:46Speaker 3: like that's a great question. God obviously could be a woman.
- 28:48Speaker 3: And then I was thinking like, yeah, nah, but she
- 28:50Speaker 3: would have got it right, Like, let's be honest.
- 28:53Speaker 1: However, I did have a good point of that you're
- 28:55Speaker 1: talking about the radio and like, especially with everything going
- 28:58Speaker 1: on in the world around us, how do you feel
- 29:00Speaker 1: about this? Take so go on my phone, TikTok. Everything
- 29:04Speaker 1: is about the news that is going on in the world.
- 29:05Speaker 1: I get sad. Look look on the TV. I get sad.
- 29:08Speaker 1: Everything that's going on in the world. Hear the radio,
- 29:10Speaker 1: I get sad. Everything's going on. I look at the
- 29:12Speaker 1: fuel station, I get sad. Yeah, fucking I walk outside
- 29:15Speaker 1: and the conversations, I get sad. I want to joking.
- 29:18Speaker 1: This is a good idea, kind of naive, but I
- 29:21Speaker 1: want to play to that. Just live in my own
- 29:23Speaker 1: bubble e. I've decided I don't want to carry you. No, no,
- 29:27Speaker 1: I don't. When have you not? I feel I could
- 29:30Speaker 1: do it more. I could do it more. No, if
- 29:32Speaker 1: you know, if you did it more, you wouldn't be
- 29:34Speaker 1: a human anymore. You literally I you don't talk to
- 29:37Speaker 1: anyone you talk to No, No, I don't talk. I
- 29:41Speaker 1: consume information. Oddie. I could tell you your daily routine,
- 29:45Speaker 1: and this is your daily routine. Is your weekly routine?
- 29:48Speaker 1: Wake up? Maybe go on your phone? Maybe not.
- 29:51Speaker 3: Maybe everyone feeling a bit, you'll stretch a little bit,
- 29:54Speaker 3: like to try and stretch a little bit have.
- 29:56Speaker 1: Some water six three bad. Yeah, first things versus shower.
- 29:59Speaker 1: Sorry I forgot Yeah, so wake.
- 30:01Speaker 3: Old is filtered to day that is so red film. Anyway,
- 30:05Speaker 3: I'm going to get one too, So wake up shower.
- 30:10Speaker 3: If he doesn't go on his phone, or maybe he's
- 30:11Speaker 3: on his phone whatever, come out, stretch a little bit,
- 30:14Speaker 3: have some brecki on the balcony, get some sun raised
- 30:16Speaker 3: if there's the sun out, and.
- 30:18Speaker 1: Then he might go do a little bit of work.
- 30:21Speaker 3: Let his body wake up a bit after he's eat
- 30:23Speaker 3: and let some food digest. Go make some pre work out,
- 30:25Speaker 3: head to the gym, come back, have another shower, make
- 30:28Speaker 3: some lunch, sit on the balcony, eat lunch, do some
- 30:30Speaker 3: more work.
- 30:31Speaker 1: Once he's done work, he's like, all right, I'm cool.
- 30:33Speaker 1: I might go for the bitch. Maybe not. Maybe every
- 30:34Speaker 1: other day he goes for a smit of the beach.
- 30:36Speaker 3: Maybe you'll see his girlfriend, and then comes home at
- 30:39Speaker 3: seven pm, like latest seven pm. That is when he
- 30:42Speaker 3: is like done for the day, lights are off, lamps on,
- 30:45Speaker 3: watches something or reads.
- 30:46Speaker 1: You do that every day? You when in that day
- 30:48Speaker 1: did you talk to someone else That makes me sad?
- 30:51Speaker 1: And that's predictable. Yeah, within that day going to the gym,
- 30:59Speaker 1: drove past the fuel state. When I woke up, I
- 31:03Speaker 1: did go on my phone and saw like news Daddy
- 31:06Speaker 1: complained about something, and then it made me sad. Well whatever, alright,
- 31:10Speaker 1: you debunked how I was feeling. Wait news, But yeah,
- 31:13Speaker 1: it's so depressing. Yeah, and as a person, you feel
- 31:16Speaker 1: so miniscule in the problem and like I can't do anything.
- 31:18Speaker 1: I feel helpless while I even worry about it. It's
- 31:20Speaker 1: not like when I have an problem in my life,
- 31:22Speaker 1: I can do something to make a change. That's actually yeah,
- 31:24Speaker 1: I would say that, like that's how I feel right now.
- 31:26Speaker 3: One thing I'm guilty of is when there is a
- 31:28Speaker 3: huge problem in the world and then like it's brought up.
- 31:31Speaker 3: A major thing I'm guilty of is being like what
- 31:33Speaker 3: am I going to do? And I guess it's like
- 31:35Speaker 3: to be fair, I guess one more person doing something
- 31:39Speaker 3: is one more person then you can might be able
- 31:41Speaker 3: to get one more person.
- 31:41Speaker 1: Yeah. I want to do my part to get like
- 31:43Speaker 1: the outcome I can, but right now there's nothing to do.
- 31:45Speaker 1: I know, I do want me to not get an
- 31:47Speaker 1: extra Jerry can of fuel? Is that my doing the
- 31:49Speaker 1: part for the community? Yeah, I my like life model
- 31:53Speaker 1: at the moment is I gotta put me first, put
- 31:56Speaker 1: you first. I'll tell you. I'll tell you I can, okay,
- 32:00Speaker 1: finish it.
- 32:00Speaker 3: On.
- 32:01Speaker 1: Let's see if I can get Jake's day. Okay, Okay,
- 32:04Speaker 1: you're unpredictable though, yeah, exactly, because I'm interesting about that
- 32:12Speaker 1: interesting or easily compromised. Go on, Okay, okay, so I
- 32:18Speaker 1: remember when we lived together, Jake could wake up at
- 32:20Speaker 1: six o'clock or ten am. Alright, normal day. But I've
- 32:25Speaker 1: got to average this out.
- 32:26Speaker 3: I'll also wait, I'm going to give you better like
- 32:28Speaker 3: you don't really probably know my routine where I live now.
- 32:31Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm average, Okay, have it all right? So you
- 32:34Speaker 1: wake up at the crack of dawn with your dogs
- 32:36Speaker 1: off to a good start, and then because you're up
- 32:40Speaker 1: really early, I reckon best sleeps in now because she
- 32:42Speaker 1: doesn't get to work a little bit more than you.
- 32:44Speaker 1: And you then go and read for a little bit
- 32:48Speaker 1: in the morning. Okay, this is what I'm thinking. Go
- 32:50Speaker 1: and read and then you just you bumble around and
- 32:52Speaker 1: probably don't do too much of it. You could do
- 32:54Speaker 1: this probably changes because you don't have routine like that.
- 32:56Speaker 1: I can changes. Maybe a bit of scrolling time, maybe
- 32:58Speaker 1: a bit of YouTube, anything like that, and then you
- 33:00Speaker 1: will go make some food. I don't know what you're
- 33:03Speaker 1: eating at the moment, it could be anything, something gluten free,
- 33:06Speaker 1: and then the gluten free, lactose free move out to
- 33:09Speaker 1: let's say about eight o'clock, bets up up at the
- 33:11Speaker 1: same time, beach dogs done. That's this average what you
- 33:15Speaker 1: do and by the sounds of it on your Instagram,
- 33:19Speaker 1: any weather you go out literally actually.
- 33:26Speaker 3: The reason the reason is because in fucking Queensland, it
- 33:30Speaker 3: will come, it will be the blue sky is not
- 33:33Speaker 3: a cloud in sight, hot as fuck, and then it
- 33:36Speaker 3: will literally torrentially rain for a minute and a half
- 33:40Speaker 3: and then it goes away. So it's like it's considered
- 33:43Speaker 3: tropical as in up there, I would assume it. I
- 33:45Speaker 3: feel like you've always thought.
- 33:47Speaker 1: It was like far north Queensland was topical, but not
- 33:48Speaker 1: really queens Anchers like semi in the middle. I think
- 33:51Speaker 1: it's arguable each way. Yeah, okay, so we're there, back
- 33:54Speaker 1: from the dogs, and then you're like, oh, I gotta
- 33:56Speaker 1: do some work. What should I do? And then you'll
- 33:58Speaker 1: be like, okay, there's something in the stew. Maybe I'll
- 34:00Speaker 1: do a bit of editing, and then you just pick
- 34:02Speaker 1: one of them and then you you throw your phone
- 34:04Speaker 1: away for like three hours there and then you're doing
- 34:09Speaker 1: one of those those three things. Yeah, and then we
- 34:12Speaker 1: take you to a lunch. You have a bit of
- 34:14Speaker 1: a later lunch, i'd say about one if yeah, yeah,
- 34:16Speaker 1: and then then you'll tea back up with Beth, maybe
- 34:19Speaker 1: go to like a nice place with the dog's a
- 34:20Speaker 1: cafe or something, maybe get a little bit of a
- 34:22Speaker 1: catch up going okay, and then then you'll go back,
- 34:25Speaker 1: maybe read for a little bit chill. We're coming into
- 34:27Speaker 1: that two three o'clock and you'll go back and do
- 34:29Speaker 1: a work and you'll do what you didn't do in
- 34:31Speaker 1: the morning, same again, and then you'll come back and
- 34:34Speaker 1: then five or six this is where it changes. Could
- 34:36Speaker 1: be anything that's going to ask you to do something together,
- 34:38Speaker 1: or a family or you have to move. So there's
- 34:40Speaker 1: something that's that changes every single but that could be
- 34:42Speaker 1: absolutely that could be anything. And then after six seven
- 34:46Speaker 1: o'clock at anything, Well, it's Jake's oyster. It's mainly reading. Yeah,
- 34:50Speaker 1: that's it. How to go?
- 34:51Speaker 3: I would say, you're not like too far off. Definitely,
- 34:56Speaker 3: dogs wake me up at like five point thirty.
- 34:58Speaker 1: Yeah, and then.
- 35:01Speaker 3: Usually Beth will wake up and we'll both so maybe sure,
- 35:06Speaker 3: like half an hour later, get up and in that
- 35:07Speaker 3: half now I do like I will read a bit
- 35:09Speaker 3: or something, and then we're usually at the beach by
- 35:13Speaker 3: like six thirty on the money, dog beach by six thirty.
- 35:16Speaker 3: And when we get home from the beach, that's when
- 35:19Speaker 3: I eat. And then after after I eat, that's when
- 35:23Speaker 3: I go to the studio, and then.
- 35:25Speaker 1: I'll come home.
- 35:27Speaker 3: Maybe I'll come home at like midday. Usually I come
- 35:31Speaker 3: home for lunch. That's what I've been doing last couple weeks.
- 35:33Speaker 3: I come home for lunch, and then depending on like
- 35:36Speaker 3: if I wanted to do more stuff at the studio
- 35:38Speaker 3: or not, if I don't need you, I will stay home,
- 35:40Speaker 3: and then Beth and I will take the dogs.
- 35:41Speaker 1: That something random, like I've been leaving my laptop at
- 35:44Speaker 1: home though as well.
- 35:45Speaker 3: So usually dogs will be so dogs we take them
- 35:48Speaker 3: out morning afternoon, beach morning, and then there's like a
- 35:51Speaker 3: reserve we go to in the afternoon, usually at like four.
- 35:54Speaker 3: So then you're pretty on the money, Yeah, like you're
- 35:57Speaker 3: not fine.
- 35:57Speaker 1: I know each other. Look, Yeah, number between one and
- 35:59Speaker 1: ten three two one seven batties, saddies. I wanted to
- 36:03Speaker 1: bring something up and this could make you, you know
- 36:05Speaker 1: how you're saying you're sad. Yeah, yeah, it's not actually sad.
- 36:08Speaker 1: This might make you happy because it was slightly embarrassing
- 36:11Speaker 1: on my part, Okay, but I didn't. These things did
- 36:13Speaker 1: make me happy.
- 36:14Speaker 3: I didn't get embarrassed, but to me, it was embarrassing,
- 36:18Speaker 3: but no one that was a part of it knew
- 36:19Speaker 3: I was embarrassed.
- 36:20Speaker 1: So I'm at the beach.
- 36:21Speaker 3: Beth has actually been in Sydney for the last week
- 36:24Speaker 3: and they got home a couple days ago, yesterday, and
- 36:26Speaker 3: so I was taking the dogs out of my own
- 36:29Speaker 3: and so I had Darcy and Henry at the beach
- 36:31Speaker 3: and I was chilling, was pretty quiet, right, and I
- 36:35Speaker 3: took him in the afternoon this day. Never go on
- 36:37Speaker 3: the afternoon, so it was really it was actually quite nice, chilling,
- 36:41Speaker 3: throwing the ball for Henry, doing stuff. And then I
- 36:43Speaker 3: see a group of you know, maybe eighteen to twenty
- 36:47Speaker 3: some year old kids. They come on to the beach
- 36:48Speaker 3: and I was like, oh, cool, whatever. I didn't think
- 36:50Speaker 3: anything of it, but then they start walking over towards me,
- 36:53Speaker 3: and then I've got my back to them, and one
- 36:54Speaker 3: of them is like, hey man, hey, and I was thinking, like.
- 36:58Speaker 1: Come on, I got the kids with me. Guys like,
- 37:01Speaker 1: come on, come on, you think. I was like, they've
- 37:07Speaker 1: got me, right, they got me at the beach, you know.
- 37:11Speaker 1: And so I turned around and he's like, hey man,
- 37:13Speaker 1: hey man.
- 37:13Speaker 3: The guy there was one guy and the rest of
- 37:14Speaker 3: them women, and he comes over and I was honestly
- 37:18Speaker 3: thinking like they were going to say.
- 37:19Speaker 1: I genuinely thought I'm gonna say, are you from that podcast?
- 37:22Speaker 3: And then they come over and they go, oh, so
- 37:24Speaker 3: we we go to UNI and we're doing a scavenger
- 37:27Speaker 3: hunt and we are doing this thing where and one
- 37:30Speaker 3: of the things on scavenger Hunters we have to ask
- 37:32Speaker 3: a person in the public if we can take a
- 37:34Speaker 3: photo with their dog.
- 37:35Speaker 1: So they wanted a fucking photo with Henry not me.
- 37:40Speaker 1: What's that called. That's called something bad.
- 37:42Speaker 2: That's called like the opposite of imposter syndrome, that's called
- 37:45Speaker 2: fucking like main character SYNDI.
- 37:47Speaker 1: You don't know me.
- 37:49Speaker 3: I was like, you probably said do you want to photo?
- 37:52Speaker 3: And I played it off like because obviously they didn't
- 37:55Speaker 3: know what I was thinking. And I remember thinking I
- 37:56Speaker 3: can't wait to tell they.
- 38:02Speaker 1: Were they were our demo and I was like thinking,
- 38:05Speaker 1: oh ship, and I just remember thinking that Gods, I
- 38:07Speaker 1: got the no, no, no, that's not How could we
- 38:13Speaker 1: like check ourselves once in a while, check each other?
- 38:16Speaker 1: That checked me? Yeah, that humble you haven't told, you
- 38:20Speaker 1: haven't told betheryone to be found out tops thousands of people, bad,
- 38:28Speaker 1: bad bad. I have a great idea right now. So
- 38:32Speaker 1: if you're ever in the wild and you see mister
- 38:35Speaker 1: Jake Craig out, go up to him and then pretend
- 38:39Speaker 1: like be all excited and ship and be like, oh hey,
- 38:42Speaker 1: pretend like you're going up for a photo. And they'd
- 38:44Speaker 1: be like, hey, hey, oh you have really cute dog?
- 38:46Speaker 1: Do you might have? That was and like consistently consistently.
- 38:52Speaker 1: I'm used to that though, to be fair, Yeah, but
- 38:54Speaker 1: you can tell Pat Henry and everyone everyone wants. Could
- 38:58Speaker 1: that be good? I'm stuck between this might be good
- 39:08Speaker 1: for mid event a rock and a hard place. So cars,
- 39:13Speaker 1: I'm sure some bad He's loved some cars, to be fair, Yeah,
- 39:16Speaker 1: I've got a twenty fifteen Towyt high Lux. The last
- 39:18Speaker 1: year that they did three liter diesel and I've got
- 39:21Speaker 1: to think that's where you lost people. I've got a
- 39:24Speaker 1: duel battery system and I thought I paid someone good
- 39:28Speaker 1: money to install it properly the first time. Anyway, I've
- 39:32Speaker 1: had issue after issue after issue, and I'm like, fuck it,
- 39:35Speaker 1: I'm getting a second opinion, and these people fix the issue.
- 39:38Speaker 1: But then they said we can't do anything else because
- 39:40Speaker 1: I'm not touching it. I'm not putting my name to
- 39:42Speaker 1: said work. And I don't really think anything of it
- 39:44Speaker 1: at the time because I was like, I don't know
- 39:45Speaker 1: how it's involved with a duel battery or whatnot.
- 39:48Speaker 3: And so wait, the person that said that was wasn't
- 39:49Speaker 3: the person that originally did.
- 39:50Speaker 1: Now that was the second opinion, and I just thought like, oh, yeah,
- 39:53Speaker 1: he didn't do the whole system. He's not going to
- 39:54Speaker 1: like tamper with wires and shit because then he's liable.
- 39:56Speaker 1: That made sense to me. Anyway, I took it to
- 39:59Speaker 1: another per and a couple of days ago and I
- 40:03Speaker 1: get a phone call. It was for an easy job
- 40:05Speaker 1: fixing like a switch panel, and he calls me. He
- 40:07Speaker 1: goes who installed this man? I told him. He's like, fuck,
- 40:11Speaker 1: this is bad. I was like, what do you mean
- 40:13Speaker 1: He's like, this could catch on fire. I was like,
- 40:15Speaker 1: I was like, you're taking the piss dude. He goes like, nah,
- 40:17Speaker 1: this is like really really really bad, Like you should probably.
- 40:21Speaker 1: I don't feel comfortable with you leaving this wired up.
- 40:25Speaker 1: Either I can get someone in here to fix it,
- 40:27Speaker 1: and it's going to cost you like a thousand and
- 40:29Speaker 1: fifteen hundred bucks maybe it was fifteen hundred two thousand,
- 40:31Speaker 1: and I've maybe made it less in my mind, or
- 40:35Speaker 1: just I don't feel comfortable like with you leaving with
- 40:37Speaker 1: this wide up. So just connected disconnected, and I told
- 40:39Speaker 1: him I'm going away on the weekend. He's like, you
- 40:40Speaker 1: might just need to get ice, and I was like, dude,
- 40:41Speaker 1: I've got like this big trip plan bla blaha lah. Anyway,
- 40:46Speaker 1: I'm like, if this is why it's so bad, I
- 40:47Speaker 1: called the other place and then told him everything that
- 40:49Speaker 1: was wrong with it, and I got the mechanic to
- 40:51Speaker 1: right up the diagnostic of it and called the guy
- 40:54Speaker 1: and showed him the diagnostic and the guy went through
- 40:56Speaker 1: everything with it and he goes, oh, here's the solution
- 40:58Speaker 1: of fixing it. I was like, okay, and we're talking
- 41:00Speaker 1: in like auto electric terms, like I don't know what
- 41:02Speaker 1: the fuck are you. I don't know if they're telling
- 41:03Speaker 1: me the why la la la la. And I call
- 41:05Speaker 1: my mechanic back and I wrote it down what he said,
- 41:07Speaker 1: and I said to the mechanic, he wants to change
- 41:09Speaker 1: this amp fuse with this one. And my mechanic goes,
- 41:13Speaker 1: are you joking? And I was like, what do you mean.
- 41:15Speaker 1: He goes, that's like someone's bleeding out, they need stitches.
- 41:19Speaker 1: You need to go to the hospital, and you put
- 41:20Speaker 1: a band aid on it. And I was like, Oh,
- 41:23Speaker 1: you're taking the fucking piss. So I'm stuck now between
- 41:26Speaker 1: two people's different opinions, and I'm stuck in the middle.
- 41:29Speaker 1: And I called back the guy originally did my car,
- 41:30Speaker 1: who's obviously done wrong. I spent three thousand dollars on it.
- 41:33Speaker 1: I was like, here's what I'm going to do, dude,
- 41:36Speaker 1: I've got a solution to fix it. I'm gonna get
- 41:38Speaker 1: this auto electrician to write everything up. I'm gonna pay
- 41:41Speaker 1: the invoice, and if you think any of your work
- 41:43Speaker 1: wasn't up to scrap, I would appreciate it if you
- 41:45Speaker 1: reimburse me for said stuff for you for the cost
- 41:48Speaker 1: of fixing it. Yes, so he's going to write up everything.
- 41:50Speaker 1: I'm not going to get any money. The guy's going
- 41:51Speaker 1: to be like, oh, we did that. But basically, some
- 41:54Speaker 1: redneck bloke stunned me fucking car. And I feel bad
- 41:58Speaker 1: because I did my research, thought I was doing it right. See,
- 42:00Speaker 1: this is the thing with you as well. You do
- 42:02Speaker 1: research on shit Google reviews. They have like forty five
- 42:05Speaker 1: star Google reviews. I was like, what else can you
- 42:07Speaker 1: go by? We've like, I don't know anything about cars,
- 42:10Speaker 1: like other than like with that's fully not your fault
- 42:13Speaker 1: at all. So I've got a build baddies of like
- 42:16Speaker 1: I'm hoping it's around one thousand dollars, not two thousand dollars.
- 42:20Speaker 1: But I was like, imagine my card caught him fire
- 42:22Speaker 1: when I'm sleeping in it one day one night. Oh
- 42:25Speaker 1: my god. Yeah, imagine they have to be liable for that. Yeah,
- 42:28Speaker 1: maybe I should have just fucking done that insurance. The
- 42:31Speaker 1: thing is like, I anyw I hate confrontation. Yeah, no,
- 42:38Speaker 1: I was struggling on the phone, hey, because he was
- 42:40Speaker 1: one guy was telling me how he thought and another
- 42:42Speaker 1: one and I'm in the middle and I don't know
- 42:43Speaker 1: who's right or wrong. And I'm like dude, I think
- 42:45Speaker 1: you're wrong, but also I'm scared to say you're wrong. Yeah.
- 42:48Speaker 3: It was actually kind of helpful, but yeah, well the
- 42:50Speaker 3: people that originally did it when you called him, what
- 42:53Speaker 3: was what was there?
- 42:53Speaker 1: Like he wanted to help? He did, but he also like,
- 42:56Speaker 1: but it's like it's hard because his way of fixing
- 42:59Speaker 1: it is wrong.
- 43:00Speaker 3: Yeah, and clearly they mustn't be like qualified, I know.
- 43:04Speaker 1: I asked that. I asked him, are you qualified electrician
- 43:06Speaker 1: auto electrician? He said, yeah, I've been working in the
- 43:08Speaker 1: industry for twenty five years, and it's hard. It's such
- 43:11Speaker 1: an unregulated industry. I was like, how can I tell
- 43:13Speaker 1: someone who's been doing it for twenty five years that
- 43:15Speaker 1: you're shit at your job? Yeah? Yeah, that's basically going
- 43:19Speaker 1: to do. That's basically what I'm saying. I'm like, well,
- 43:21Speaker 1: I'm just digging myself a hole. I'm like, I'm just
- 43:22Speaker 1: going to have to swallow my pride and just take
- 43:24Speaker 1: the l because I'm like, what am I going to
- 43:25Speaker 1: get back to two thre hundred bucksho can?
- 43:27Speaker 3: So your solution was I'm gonna send you like the
- 43:32Speaker 3: invoice of how of it being fixed.
- 43:34Speaker 1: I'm going to get the auto electrician to write up
- 43:36Speaker 1: a proper diagnostics of everything that was wrong with the
- 43:38Speaker 1: previous system. Yeah, and then I'm going to show you that. Yeah.
- 43:42Speaker 3: Right, and it's like, how could you argue it's right
- 43:45Speaker 3: if it's clearly wrong?
- 43:46Speaker 1: Yeah, and it's going to be re reimbursed' That's what
- 43:48Speaker 1: I'm thinking. But what I think is going to happen
- 43:50Speaker 1: is he's going to go through it and be like,
- 43:52Speaker 1: let's just over kill me. You don't know what to
- 43:53Speaker 1: do like this, I've been doing this for years, is
- 43:55Speaker 1: how we do it? Yeah? Man, that's so Yeah. I
- 43:59Speaker 1: don't even know where I normally there's somewhere I retrack
- 44:01Speaker 1: my steps and I'm like, I could have done this differently.
- 44:04Speaker 1: I'm like I'm stuck in the middle or not knowing anything.
- 44:06Speaker 3: That was just like, I guess the only good thing
- 44:08Speaker 3: about it is you won't go back to them, and
- 44:10Speaker 3: you won't recommend people to go to them.
- 44:11Speaker 1: I was thinking if they he was actually really nice,
- 44:13Speaker 1: if he was toxic. I was thinking about because some
- 44:15Speaker 1: of the badies now I left. I couldn't leave a
- 44:17Speaker 1: bad review at a Airbnb and BALI if they were
- 44:21Speaker 1: mean to me. I don't like mean people. I would
- 44:23Speaker 1: have left a bad review, but he was actually really nice.
- 44:26Speaker 1: Well here's nice in like what way he was trying
- 44:28Speaker 1: to help. His way of helping it was like, wait,
- 44:31Speaker 1: how can I use an analogy here. It's like you're
- 44:33Speaker 1: building a house and someone's fucked your roof and you
- 44:36Speaker 1: get the advice to fix and you go, this is
- 44:38Speaker 1: how you fix it with like the terra cotta tiles,
- 44:39Speaker 1: and then he goes, just put this clue on it
- 44:41Speaker 1: made it work. See that's the thing.
- 44:43Speaker 3: And I think, like I almost think that you have
- 44:45Speaker 3: like a civil duty, right yeah, if so, whether or
- 44:49Speaker 3: not this guy pays you back or doesn't pay you back,
- 44:53Speaker 3: I think it's like a civic duty to actually write
- 44:56Speaker 3: an in detail review of everything that happened.
- 44:58Speaker 1: Like I took it here on this date.
- 45:01Speaker 3: I had to bring it back to them this time
- 45:04Speaker 3: this time because something wasn't working. Both times didn't get fixed.
- 45:07Speaker 3: And then I took it to one mechanic who said
- 45:09Speaker 3: I won't touch it, and I took it to another
- 45:10Speaker 3: mechanic that said, this is going to catch on fire.
- 45:12Speaker 3: Like I think you have to go in detail because
- 45:14Speaker 3: it's like this is being your literal experience. And then
- 45:17Speaker 3: if they if you say to them like what I
- 45:19Speaker 3: ended up getting to happening was like I got this
- 45:22Speaker 3: mechanic to fix it, but these guys did pay for it,
- 45:25Speaker 3: so it's like you're you're being honest, and then if
- 45:28Speaker 3: or you could be like I got these guys fix it,
- 45:29Speaker 3: and I have literally just now paid double and not
- 45:32Speaker 3: got paid back anything.
- 45:33Speaker 1: Like you have to do it. What's a great idea?
- 45:35Speaker 1: What blackmail? I'll write that review, but send it as
- 45:39Speaker 1: an email to it and be like, if you don't
- 45:41Speaker 1: pay me, this is going on your website. I could
- 45:48Speaker 1: wait a second. Can I tell you something? Okay, we
- 45:50Speaker 1: actually have to end after this. You have a time
- 45:53Speaker 1: I found it. It's fifty three, but that was we
- 45:58Speaker 1: started recording before and this is the last thing. Okay.
- 46:01Speaker 3: One time, Bethany, we went to go I think I've
- 46:05Speaker 3: told this story, but I want to tell it again
- 46:06Speaker 3: because you brought up black mouth. Yeah, we went to
- 46:08Speaker 3: go down towhear Grandpa is like seventy fifth birthday or whatever,
- 46:11Speaker 3: and it's in like this tiny little town. We booked
- 46:13Speaker 3: a motel because there's no space in any family member's
- 46:15Speaker 3: house and we're like sick, so we booked this little motel.
- 46:18Speaker 3: We get there and again we get there kind of late.
- 46:21Speaker 3: It's like seven thirty eight o'clock. We check in and
- 46:26Speaker 3: this place is like you told me that, Like, yeah,
- 46:31Speaker 3: there has been multiple murders at this place.
- 46:33Speaker 1: I'm telling you that, Like it was motel vibes.
- 46:36Speaker 3: It's a motel. It's not a hotel. It's a moto yea,
- 46:38Speaker 3: all right, So we're walking grossest thing. Yeah, there's fucking
- 46:45Speaker 3: like hairs all over the bed and like that was
- 46:49Speaker 3: what did it for me? Like there's no curtain on
- 46:52Speaker 3: the fucking window because stays there. Yeah, Like it's just
- 46:55Speaker 3: it's just and it's just so fucking its floors dirty,
- 46:57Speaker 3: Like it's just gross, it's fucking it's just like I
- 46:59Speaker 3: can't even begin to explain to you.
- 47:01Speaker 1: And so we leave.
- 47:03Speaker 3: We don't stay that that night. We had we had
- 47:05Speaker 3: three nights booked. Yeah, And then the next day was
- 47:09Speaker 3: when we got in touch with them, and so Beth's
- 47:11Speaker 3: on the phone.
- 47:12Speaker 1: With them really good. She's so bad. He's too much
- 47:16Speaker 1: of them.
- 47:16Speaker 3: And Beth is her father's daughter, so she she goes
- 47:22Speaker 3: back and forth with them, and then we go in
- 47:24Speaker 3: there and we're talking to them in person, and so
- 47:27Speaker 3: this guy that's there arguing with us, he's like, I'm
- 47:30Speaker 3: not I'm the manager.
- 47:31Speaker 1: I don't own it.
- 47:31Speaker 3: He calls the owner who's in Sydney. Bets on the
- 47:34Speaker 3: phone to the owner right and she's like explaining to
- 47:36Speaker 3: him like this is why it's bad X execut and
- 47:38Speaker 3: he goes, no, no, no, this that you're the first
- 47:39Speaker 3: person to complain, Like, I'm telling you it's clean, it's clean,
- 47:41Speaker 3: it's clean, and Beth goes literally she shows the manager.
- 47:45Speaker 3: She goes, do you want me to post this photo
- 47:48Speaker 3: on your Google reviews? Because this is the photo I
- 47:51Speaker 3: took and it's a fucking gross photo. And then the
- 47:54Speaker 3: manager takes the phone talks your own and he goes, yeah,
- 47:56Speaker 3: this is real. Ship or whatever comes back and then
- 47:58Speaker 3: the guy goes, you can have full refund.
- 48:00Speaker 1: It's like that was hot. That's really hot. Yeah, I'll
- 48:05Speaker 1: tell you what couldn't be. But I was like it
- 48:10Speaker 1: needs to happen. Brohind his computer.
- 48:11Speaker 3: I'm a keeper was standing behind bath and I was like, yeah, yeah,
- 48:15Speaker 3: do you even want your key back?
- 48:18Speaker 1: And I was doing She's like like talking, Jake be
- 48:20Speaker 1: out to talking. Jake's like, have you seen that. Have
- 48:23Speaker 1: you seen that meme where there's an elephant hiding behind
- 48:25Speaker 1: the pole. Yes, yeah, you're there, just yeah. And I
- 48:28Speaker 1: would pop out and she's like, Jake, yeah talking all right, bad,
- 48:38Speaker 1: We love you, stay back,
