Local Heroes Honored for Service and Sport | Lexington News
Northern Kentucky’s sports community came together for a night of celebration, honoring legends and everyday heroes who’ve shaped local athletics. Dick Maile took home the James E. “Tiny” Steffen Award for Service, urging everyone to volunteer—especially for kids who need those opportunities most. Kenney Shields, a 31-year Covington Recreation director and youth basketball referee, received the Joe Brennan Service Award for mentoring thousands of young athletes.
