- 0:01Speaker 1: All right, so this giant package has been sitting here,
- 0:06Speaker 1: and then magically three smaller packages appeared.
- 0:09Speaker 2: I guess you had them in the producer's booth, Dawson? Yeah,
- 0:14Speaker 2: they came in Monday.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Okay, so let's tackle... So this is different from these. Yeah,
- 0:19Speaker 1: let's tackle these little ones first because I have an
- 0:21Speaker 1: email about it. It just came in.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Hello, Lords.
- 0:24Speaker 1: Andrew in Arizona here. I know this has been a
- 0:27Speaker 1: stressful time for you all, not only because of the
- 0:29Speaker 1: world in general, but also the added headache of contractual situations.
- 0:34Speaker 1: After six years of actively applying and interviewing, I finally
- 0:37Speaker 1: got the job I wanted, and I'm making enough money
- 0:39Speaker 1: to give back a little. So I wanted to send
- 0:41Speaker 1: you a little gift to show how much I appreciate
- 0:43Speaker 1: Radio From Hell and Geek Show. It's from Brawner's in Michigan.
- 0:48Speaker 1: It's the largest Christmas store in the world. I know
- 0:51Speaker 1: it's a little early to start thinking about Christmas, but
- 0:53Speaker 1: I know how much peace Kerry gets from his Christmas tree.
- 0:56Speaker 1: So I thought it was appropriate. It should be obvious
- 0:59Speaker 1: who gets which ornament. Bill was a little harder to
- 1:03Speaker 1: shop for. The closest they had to a bourbon ornament
- 1:08Speaker 1: was a bottle of Jack Daniels.
- 1:10Speaker 2: So I went with a pickle instead. Oh, there it is.
- 1:15Speaker 2: I really like it. Yeah, I have one of those.
- 1:20Speaker 2: I thought so.
- 1:21Speaker 3: That's a Christmas tradition.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Yeah, it said, my wife inherited from her German family,
- 1:27Speaker 1: when kids gather around the Christmas tree in the morning,
- 1:29Speaker 1: they search for the pickle ornament, which Santa hid the
- 1:32Speaker 1: night before, and the kid who finds the pickle gets
- 1:34Speaker 1: to open the first present. Anyway, thanks for everything. I
- 1:36Speaker 1: hope you get to continue doing the show as long
- 1:38Speaker 1: as you want to. Andrew from the chat, what was yours, Gina?
- 1:42Speaker 3: I got... Would you believe that I don't have one
- 1:45Speaker 3: of these?
- 1:46Speaker 2: A Diet Coke ornament?
- 1:47Speaker 3: A Diet Coke ornament. Can you believe I don't have one?
- 1:49Speaker 4: It could be that you didn't know they existed.
- 1:52Speaker 3: So that is perfect, Andrew. Thank you so much.
- 1:54Speaker 2: And Carrie, what is it?
- 1:59Speaker 5: It's a box of cinnamon toast.
- 2:01Speaker 3: Oh, cool.
- 2:01Speaker 2: That is sweet. That is really nice. I like that. Yeah,
- 2:05Speaker 2: those are nice. Thank you very much, Andrew, for in
- 2:08Speaker 2: the chat.
- 2:09Speaker 5: I want to show you something, though.
- 2:10Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 2:12Speaker 5: On the logo.
- 2:15Speaker 4: Bronner's Christmas Wonderland. Christ is capitalized in the word Christmas.
- 2:21Speaker 3: Well, it's his birthday.
- 2:22Speaker 5: So they're letting you know.
- 2:26Speaker 2: I forgot.
- 2:27Speaker 3: He's the reason for the season, Kerry.
- 2:29Speaker 2: That's right.
- 2:31Speaker 1: And now the big package, and there was a card
- 2:33Speaker 1: with it. It says, Hi, Kerry, Bill, and Gina. As
- 2:35Speaker 1: a born and raised Utahan, I grew up listening to
- 2:38Speaker 1: you all, so I was excited to have a chance
- 2:40Speaker 1: to reach out. I hope you enjoy these mugs. Kerry,
- 2:44Speaker 1: I know you said... I already got enough mugs. I do.
- 2:47Speaker 2: So do I. But I thought you might get a
- 2:49Speaker 2: kick out of our animal-friendly idioms.
- 2:52Speaker 1: I've been listening for as long as I can, as
- 2:55Speaker 1: long as I can remember, so it's a real pleasure
- 2:57Speaker 1: to connect with you from Wes and your friends at PETA.
- 3:01Speaker 1: And there's a wonderful card here. It's got pigs on it.
- 3:05Speaker 2: Adorable.
- 3:06Speaker 1: And so I had reached out. So when they sent us,
- 3:10Speaker 1: we talked about the death of those naked mole rats
- 3:13Speaker 1: up in Logan. And PETA reached out to us and said,
- 3:17Speaker 1: we agree it was a horrible thing to do. And
- 3:20Speaker 1: thanks for talking about it, and thanks for being humane
- 3:22Speaker 1: with animals. And if you'd like, we'll send you each a,
- 3:26Speaker 1: I forget what the mug, it's got a cartoon rat
- 3:29Speaker 1: on it.
- 3:30Speaker 2: Let's see, are they in there? Is there one there? Well,
- 3:32Speaker 2: there's an actual rat. Oh, yeah.
- 3:35Speaker 3: Oh, that's cool.
- 3:37Speaker 2: I like that. I'll take that. All right.
- 3:40Speaker 1: So I reached out to him and said, well, I'd
- 3:42Speaker 1: like one of those rat mugs just because my niece,
- 3:46Speaker 1: who lives in Chicago, loves rats. She's always been a ratist.
- 3:51Speaker 1: And so what is that?
- 3:54Speaker 2: It's a.
- 3:55Speaker 3: There's some coffee.
- 3:56Speaker 1: A whole pack. This is all and this is all
- 4:00Speaker 1: vegan stuff. Oh, here's the rat mug in here. Rats
- 4:03Speaker 1: have rights, it says on it. So I'll send that
- 4:07Speaker 1: mug to my niece. I'll keep the coffee and the
- 4:09Speaker 1: oat milk. I like oat milk.
- 4:12Speaker 2: I have some in the refrigerator right now. Each mug
- 4:14Speaker 2: is different.
- 4:16Speaker 3: I got a horsey mug because I'm a horsey gal.
- 4:19Speaker 4: Mine says, feed two birds with one scone.
- 4:27Speaker 5: And let's see, holler mountain coffee. Looks like a Oh, Stumptown.
- 4:32Speaker 5: That's from Portland.
- 4:35Speaker 3: Oh, that's so nice of them.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Stumptown Coffee.
- 4:37Speaker 5: Thank you. And Oatly Oatmeal.
- 4:40Speaker 2: Yeah. Oatly's pretty good. I like it.
- 4:43Speaker 5: I'll have that with some Count Chocula today.
- 4:45Speaker 1: This stuffed rat is also very nice. I think I'll
- 4:48Speaker 1: send that along to my niece as well.
- 4:51Speaker 2: She's a rat person.
- 4:53Speaker 4: Oh, Wayfair has a bourbon ornament.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Oh, yeah? I wonder why the... Well, they.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Because they're super Jesus Christmas plays.
- 5:04Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, no. He said they had a
- 5:06Speaker 2: Jack Daniels ornament.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Oh. And I don't particularly care for Jack Daniels. So
- 5:11Speaker 1: he must have known that as well.
- 5:14Speaker 2: So there you go. Thanks for the gifts, everybody. Gifts
- 5:17Speaker 2: are not necessary.
- 5:18Speaker 4: He said that he got Katie a T-Rex ornament.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Oh, cool. Oh, that's pretty big. It's a big one.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Thanks for opening that, Dawson. Thank you, Dawson. Thank you all.
- 5:27Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:29Speaker 3: Oats don't have nipples. How do they get oat milk?
- 5:36Speaker 1: You know, it's really hard to milk a groat. That's
- 5:41Speaker 1: what I call just one piece of an oat. Let
- 5:45Speaker 1: me ask Kash Patel.
- 5:46Speaker 5: Maybe he knows.
- 5:49Speaker 2: He has connections with those kind of people.
- 5:50Speaker 5: Apparently, yeah.
- 5:53Speaker 3: Dozens of them.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Dozens.
- 5:56Speaker 1: People wanting to join the FBI.
- 5:59Speaker 5: I went to Bronner's when I was in Michigan. It's
- 6:01Speaker 5: cool and creepy.
- 6:03Speaker 3: Cool and creepy.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Yeah. What was creepy about it?
- 6:06Speaker 4: I get that feeling that it could... The creep potential
- 6:09Speaker 4: is definitely there for.
- 6:11Speaker 3: Kind of like a Hobby Lobby?
- 6:12Speaker 5: Kind of like that?
- 6:13Speaker 2: Yeah, it could be.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Here's what it says on the back of this pig
- 6:16Speaker 1: card that they sent. Considered by animal behaviorists to be
- 6:20Speaker 1: even smarter than dogs, pigs are also friendly, loyal, and fun-loving.
- 6:25Speaker 1: When not confined to factory farms, they spend hours... playing, sunbathing,
- 6:31Speaker 1: and I would also add taking mud baths whenever they can,
- 6:35Speaker 1: and exploring their surroundings with their powerful sense of smell.
- 6:40Speaker 2: That's right. They use pigs for truffles. Truffle hunting.
- 6:43Speaker 3: There's a whole Nicolas Cage movie about that.
- 6:47Speaker 2: It's called Pigs. Yeah.
- 6:50Speaker 3: Although they'll eat you.
- 6:52Speaker 5: They will.
- 6:53Speaker 3: They just as soon eat you.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Given half a chance, a group of them might eat you.
- 6:57Speaker 3: They'd eat you.
- 6:57Speaker 1: Yeah. Silence of the Lambs, I saw it. TV series.
- 7:02Speaker 1: I really wish I didn't like bacon so much.
- 7:06Speaker 3: It would make things better.
- 7:08Speaker 1: I'm sorry, PETA, for saying that. And I don't eat
- 7:13Speaker 1: it a lot, but a piece of bacon I can't
- 7:15Speaker 1: turn down usually. My wife sets bacon traps.
- 7:18Speaker 5: Bacon traps?
- 7:19Speaker 3: She's trying to catch you?
- 7:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:22Speaker 1: So what happens is she will have made herself a
- 7:27Speaker 1: breakfast of some sort involving bacon. And when I get home,
- 7:31Speaker 1: there on the counter will be sitting a plate with
- 7:35Speaker 1: maybe two or three pieces of bacon on it. And
- 7:38Speaker 1: I know that that's the bacon trap. I am meant
- 7:40Speaker 1: to spot it, smell it, and then eat it.
- 7:45Speaker 3: But then are you caught in a snare of some kind?
- 7:47Speaker 2: Not really. We just call it a bacon trap.
- 7:49Speaker 5: I don't think the word trap applies here.
- 7:52Speaker 3: I want you caught.
- 7:53Speaker 5: I think it's the.
- 7:54Speaker 2: Gift of bacon. Yeah, it is the gift of bacon.
- 7:56Speaker 1: I think she likes the word trap because she feels
- 7:59Speaker 1: as though she's tricked me into eating it somehow.
- 8:03Speaker 2: He can't resist this.
- 8:04Speaker 5: Tricked you into bacon.
- 8:06Speaker 3: Well, and it's all cooked and sitting there. I mean,
- 8:09Speaker 3: it'll go to waste if you don't eat it.
- 8:11Speaker 1: It's really interesting, too. It can sit there for quite
- 8:14Speaker 1: a while and be cold, and it's still good.
- 8:16Speaker 5: Mm-hmm.
- 8:18Speaker 2: Delicious. All right.
- 8:20Speaker 5: Let's take a break, play a song, and crawl towards
- 8:22Speaker 5: the exit.
- 8:23Speaker 2: And I'm very sorry, Peter. Again, this devolved into eating bacon.
- 8:26Speaker 5: Talking about bacon.
- 8:27Speaker 2: Very sorry. Very sorry.
