- 0:01Speaker 1: Here we are, guys, our last break of the day
- 0:04Speaker 1: on this Thursday.
- 0:05Speaker 2: And Steve, Hey, you know something.
- 0:08Speaker 3: I was online and I saw a tribute song to
- 0:11Speaker 3: Malcolm Jamal Warner by R. Kelly and I listened to
- 0:16Speaker 3: it and man, oh man, oh man, what a great
- 0:19Speaker 3: song man. That song was so powerfully written, and it
- 0:25Speaker 3: was written by R.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Kelly. Not listen to me.
- 0:28Speaker 3: I know what R Kelly is in jail for, and
- 0:31Speaker 3: I didn't put him there, most certainly I didn't. I'm
- 0:33Speaker 3: not to judge the jury. It is not my job
- 0:36Speaker 3: to judge people. And I understand how people delve out forgiveness.
- 0:41Speaker 3: If it don't happen to you, it's probably easier to
- 0:44Speaker 3: forgive than it is for anybody else. I got all
- 0:47Speaker 3: of that. I'm just talking about the song. The song
- 0:50Speaker 3: was a great tribute to Malcolm Jamal Warner, and I
- 0:54Speaker 3: thought the song was so well done. And kudos to R.
- 0:58Speaker 3: Kelly for doing that. Whatever he is and for whatever
- 1:02Speaker 3: he's in for. And I know that people want to happen.
- 1:05Speaker 3: How could you listen to something that something? Hey man,
- 1:07Speaker 3: I got a lot of friends that made lot of mistakes.
- 1:10Speaker 3: I had a lot of friends now R Killer and
- 1:12Speaker 3: I were never friends, but that's not my position. I'm
- 1:15Speaker 3: just talking about the song and if you get a
- 1:17Speaker 3: chance to listen to it, it's a good listen. Great
- 1:19Speaker 3: song by R. Kelly for this brother who meant so
- 1:22Speaker 3: much to the culture. Just shout out, okay, Junior, what
- 1:26Speaker 3: you got.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:27Speaker 1: So I was talking with some fellas man, and we
- 1:29Speaker 1: were just talking about the pressures of stuff, you know,
- 1:32Speaker 1: with the society that were living in everything happened in
- 1:34Speaker 1: this country. And some of the men were just saying, man,
- 1:37Speaker 1: I'm thinking about what if I fail, What if I
- 1:39Speaker 1: lose you know what, I quit? What if I dot
- 1:44Speaker 1: dot dot? They just kept naming things, and I said,
- 1:46Speaker 1: I'm gonna ask Uncle Steve and see how he talked
- 1:49Speaker 1: to men about these type of situations.
- 1:50Speaker 3: Well, you know you can what if you're way out
- 1:54Speaker 3: of so many situations. You know, whenever I come up
- 1:58Speaker 3: with an idea and it to the team, what I
- 2:02Speaker 3: will not allow my team to do is to come
- 2:05Speaker 3: back to me and tell me why it won't work.
- 2:08Speaker 3: I know why it won't work. That's not why I
- 2:10Speaker 3: have the idea. Every idea you come up with is
- 2:13Speaker 3: going to have opposition to it. Every idea you come
- 2:16Speaker 3: up with will have the challenges that come with every idea.
- 2:20Speaker 3: Any thought of changing anything is going to come with
- 2:23Speaker 3: an equal and opposite reaction. So when I go to
- 2:26Speaker 3: my team and I say I got this new idea,
- 2:28Speaker 3: I don't need you telling me why it won't work.
- 2:30Speaker 3: I got all that. How can we make it work?
- 2:34Speaker 3: The opposition will present itself anyway. So, folks, if I
- 2:38Speaker 3: were you, I would get out of the what if
- 2:40Speaker 3: business because what if business is kind of like statistics,
- 2:47Speaker 3: you know, and what I've learned about statistics. Statistics is
- 2:50Speaker 3: for you losers. Man for statistics off of people who
- 2:55Speaker 3: want to justify when something didn't go their way. One
- 2:58Speaker 3: out of every ten people, one out of a you know,
- 3:02Speaker 3: if you play the lottery is one out of a
- 3:05Speaker 3: billion chance.
- 3:06Speaker 2: But somew when somebody hit the lottery, though, now what
- 3:09Speaker 2: you're looking crazy for?
- 3:10Speaker 3: You didn't play it, but that person took the one
- 3:14Speaker 3: out of a billion chance. It is the chances in
- 3:19Speaker 3: life that pay off. If you never take the chance,
- 3:23Speaker 3: that will never be a payoff. You only win when
- 3:27Speaker 3: you risk, You only win when you play the game.
- 3:33Speaker 3: You only score when you shoot the ball. Well, what
- 3:36Speaker 3: if I missed the shot. Well, keep dribbling there. What
- 3:39Speaker 3: that do? Just keep dribbling? What if he dropped the ball?
- 3:44Speaker 3: When I throw the touchdown pass, I'll tell you what.
- 3:46Speaker 3: Don't throw it. Just let your receiver run up the
- 3:51Speaker 3: field and never throw the ball. So you don't get
- 3:54Speaker 3: an incompletion on your record. But guess what. You don't
- 3:57Speaker 3: get no completion either. You don't get no touchdown. You
- 4:01Speaker 3: don't get no celebration, you don't get no win. Don't
- 4:08Speaker 3: get hung up into what if it don't work. I'll
- 4:11Speaker 3: tell you what if you do not try, if you
- 4:15Speaker 3: do not attempt, if you do not move forward, I
- 4:19Speaker 3: have one thing I can guarantee you one thousand percent.
- 4:24Speaker 3: I can promise you this. You will fail. It will
- 4:30Speaker 3: not happen. It cannot happen without the effort. It cannot
- 4:36Speaker 3: happen without the risk. Life is risk y'all now. I
- 4:41Speaker 3: know sometimes, man, when you take a chance and it
- 4:44Speaker 3: don't work, you consider that a failure.
- 4:46Speaker 2: I don't. I consider that as the lesson.
- 4:49Speaker 3: I needed to learn, so when I go again, I
- 4:52Speaker 3: can get it right. Stop looking at every time you
- 4:57Speaker 3: fail at something as a negative.
- 4:58Speaker 2: It's a part of the process.
- 5:01Speaker 3: Everybody I know that's a winner has been a loser,
- 5:05Speaker 3: but they just didn't look at it as being a loser.
- 5:09Speaker 3: That's round one, down ding round two. It's a fight
- 5:14Speaker 3: I was watching on the internet the other day, Sugar
- 5:17Speaker 3: Ray Leonard against Donnie Lalan. I was watching this fight
- 5:21Speaker 3: and this guy knocked Sugar Ray Leonard down. Man, and
- 5:24Speaker 3: Sugar Ray Leonard was on wobbly legs. And I remember
- 5:26Speaker 3: this fight because I said, man, Sugar, go get whooped.
- 5:31Speaker 3: I think the bord was from Canada or something. I
- 5:33Speaker 3: don't know where Donny la Lan was, and it looked bad,
- 5:36Speaker 3: but Sugar got up and he kept fighting. Sugar made
- 5:40Speaker 3: one of the greatest comebacks I've ever seen, and he
- 5:44Speaker 3: ended up knocking this boy out. Look, man, if you
- 5:49Speaker 3: don't make the attempt after you get knocked down, if
- 5:54Speaker 3: you don't get back up, you cannot win.
- 5:56Speaker 2: It's when you get knocked down that you stay down,
- 5:58Speaker 2: that you lose.
- 6:00Speaker 3: You know many times I've been knocked down in my life, man,
- 6:03Speaker 3: But every time I've been knocked down, by the grace
- 6:06Speaker 3: of God, I got up. And you know why I
- 6:10Speaker 3: got up, because I just kept the faith. You got
- 6:14Speaker 3: to operate on faith. Faith is a belief in things
- 6:17Speaker 3: that you cannot see. Yeah, what if it don't work?
- 6:20Speaker 3: What if it You ain't got to see it work,
- 6:22Speaker 3: but you do got to go forward though. Don't get
- 6:26Speaker 3: hung up on the what ifs. Operate in faith, man
- 6:31Speaker 3: operate on faith. Those are my closing remarks. Hope that
- 6:33Speaker 3: helped you.
- 6:34Speaker 2: God. We'll see y'all tomorrow with another one. In the meantime,
- 6:37Speaker 2: talk to God today.
