- 0:00SPEAKER_00: Hello everyone and welcome back to the Abundant and Align Podcast.
- 0:03SPEAKER_00: If you are ready to lead your business in the way you were actually designed to lead a business, so not the way you were taught, not the way others in your industry are running their business, but the way your design actually tells us you were built to operate, then this episode is for you.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: Today I am joined by Lily Ead, who is a culture and leadership strategist with a background in organizational psychology and strategic HR.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: She is also the founder of Lead by Design, which is a people, performance, and workplace well-being consultancy that looks nothing like anything else in this space.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: Her work runs on her own methodology, which is the unique human operating system, which we'll be unpacking today, but it essentially tells us three layers of how a person actually operates.
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: So today I'm going to ask all of the questions that's going to help you lead your business how you are supposed to.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: In particular, we are going to look at how you're actually built to work and the way of working that will burn you out or keep your fire alive.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: We'll also look at the services you should be delivering, the ones you should probably park to the side.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: I'm also asking her how you're supposed to market your services and bring clients in because not everybody should be doing that the same.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: And finally, we'll be talking to those who have a team and what you should be doing to create the A team, taking a look at how to know who belongs in which role, which hire you should be making, and yeah, how to create this seamless team within your company.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: So buckle up, you guys will love this one.
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: And yeah, as usual, take lots of notes and implement everything that Lily shares today.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: So without further ado, let's get into it.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: Welcome to the Abundant and Aligned Podcast, a place where you will come to realise anything you desire is possible.
- 2:02SPEAKER_00: I'm Jess, Mindset and Business Coach, and I'm on a mission to lead women to a life far from average.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: In this show, you can expect conversations around manifestation, subconscious reprogramming, entrepreneurship, and the daily habits of a woman living a life that is both successful and fun.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: Imagine a TED talk but over wine.
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: My wish for you is that you experience an unlimited flow of money, a business that attracts your dream clients, and the freedom to spend your time how you choose.
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: And if you stick with me, that will soon be your reality.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: I'm honoured to be on the journey with you, so let's get into it.
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: Lily, welcome to the Amundan Analine Podcast.
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: Thank you so much for being in this studio with me today.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: And you guys, we are in a brand new studio.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: It's so nice.
- 2:47SPEAKER_00: Lily's the first guest as part of the new studio.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: Yay.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: I wish it was our studio, but it's not.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: But it's very on brand, as they will see once they watch the video.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: Excited to have video as well.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: Do you watch any video podcast?
- 3:04SPEAKER_01: It depends if it's I mean, most of the times when I'm listening to a podcast, I'm either driving or I'm on a walk.
- 3:14SPEAKER_01: So no.
- 3:15SPEAKER_01: But I find that if there is a video like on the Spotify app, then I might have a quick look, but I won't actually like sit there and watch the whole thing.
- 3:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:23SPEAKER_01: I'm going to be the same.
- 3:24SPEAKER_01: But I guess it's good for social media.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: So yeah, we've got the full kit and caboodle today.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: Welcome to the studio.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: Now we are talking about your zone of genius, human design.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: I am a manifesting generator, as you would know.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: And I found this out probably last year.
- 3:41SPEAKER_00: Up until that point, I have always been very multi-passionate.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: I love many different layers in the business.
- 3:49SPEAKER_00: I get bored easy.
- 3:51SPEAKER_00: And if I want to do something, I do it.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: I've got a new offer coming out next week.
- 3:55SPEAKER_00: Have not told a single person we're going, or I'm getting rid of this program and it's happening.
- 4:00SPEAKER_00: And it's not that I ever got concerned about running my business that way.
- 4:05SPEAKER_00: But once I learn about the traits of a manifesting generator, I'm like, oh my God, this is kind of who I am and this is how I'm supposed to operate.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: And it's actually a superpower that I am able to do that.
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: I then learn about the profile, and then I'm a two-four.
- 4:21SPEAKER_00: The four being a lot of my money is in my immediate network.
- 4:25SPEAKER_00: And also hearing that was just music to my ears.
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: So learning about my human design has changed the game for me in my business, just opened my eyes up to what is normal for me running my business and also how I should run my business.
- 4:39SPEAKER_00: So I want today's episode to help the listeners operate their business in accordance with who they are.
- 4:45SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: And what their human design is.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: I also know you bring in astrology and many different layers that I essentially want to unpack.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: So I'm excited for the episode.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: I thought would be really cool, pause this, you guys, and go to Lily's human design chart and grab your chart and actually have that up while you're listening to this episode because I'm going to pick your brain on what the chart means and all of that.
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: Of course.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: If they've got in front, that would be really cool.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: So I've linked that in the show notes below for you guys.
- 5:14SPEAKER_00: Go and grab your chart.
- 5:15SPEAKER_00: They do, what information do they need?
- 5:18SPEAKER_01: It'll be your birth date, location, and time.
- 5:23SPEAKER_01: So exact minute for time if possible.
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: It just gives you a very clear, accurate reading because sometimes there's certain aspects in your human design chart or astrology that could be on the cusp of one energy type, for example, or the other, or you know, one moon type or the other.
- 5:40SPEAKER_01: So yeah.
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: So get the accurate time.
- 5:43SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 5:43SPEAKER_00: Go grab your chart, have that with you while you listen to this episode, just so that everything we are talking about makes sense according to your chart.
- 5:50SPEAKER_00: So assuming they have gone and done that, they've got their chart in front, looking at their chart for the first time through the lens of how we can use this in business.
- 5:59SPEAKER_00: What are they looking at?
- 6:01SPEAKER_00: In what order?
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: And why does that information help us in business?
- 6:05SPEAKER_00: A very loaded question, but starting it.
- 6:08SPEAKER_01: That's okay.
- 6:09SPEAKER_01: So I look, okay, for somebody who has got no experience in human design and has no clue what human design is, I would start with the like the first three, which is your energy type, your authority, and your strategy.
- 6:23SPEAKER_01: So your energy type will give a little bit more insight into the energetic pace that you can sustain in business.
- 6:33SPEAKER_01: So, for example, manifesting generators, they have access to their sacral center, which means that they have a motorized battery.
- 6:43SPEAKER_01: So they can just keep going and going and going and going as long as they are really interested in the work that they're doing, that they're actually gaining something in the process or in the journey.
- 6:56SPEAKER_01: Whereas somebody like me, I'm a manifestor, uh, and so manifestors, projectors, reflectors, we are non-energy types.
- 7:05SPEAKER_01: So that means that we don't have access or a defined sacral center, which means we don't have that same motorized battery.
- 7:15SPEAKER_01: So instead, the best way for us to operate without burning ourselves out is to work in focused groups or like focused time.
- 7:26SPEAKER_01: So for example, I would set aside 90 minutes of me doing one task, going absolutely 200% in that one task.
- 7:35SPEAKER_01: And then I would step away and take the next 90 minutes to just relax, recharge, and just completely zone out so that I can come back into it.
- 7:44SPEAKER_01: And so in business, as you would know, you have days or weeks where you just have to keep going and going and going and going, you've got to keep pushing.
- 7:54SPEAKER_01: And as much as manifestors, projectors, reflectors, look, we can do that, we just burn out a lot easier.
- 8:02SPEAKER_01: So if we know that we're going into a week of hard out deliverables, achieving things for clients, etc., make sure you match that period with rest following off or tapering off from that week.
- 8:16SPEAKER_00: Which is such good advice because I feel like so many of her, so many of us have been programmed to believe that taking rest is unproductive and it's getting in the way of our goals.
- 8:27SPEAKER_00: But we're actually doing ourselves a disservice by not taking a step back.
- 8:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:30SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 8:31SPEAKER_01: And that's not to say that manifesting generators and generators shouldn't rest, but their burnout shows up differently.
- 8:37SPEAKER_01: Their burnout comes from when they are doing tasks that don't light them up.
- 8:41SPEAKER_01: When they are stuck in this cycle of just delivering, delivering, delivering and not really taking a step back and going, is the work that I'm doing meaningful to me?
- 8:51SPEAKER_01: Do I feel connected to this work?
- 8:54SPEAKER_01: Or for a manifesting generator, is do I feel like I have creative freedom in this role?
- 9:01SPEAKER_01: Can I, yeah, am I defined and controlled and operating within a square or within a box?
- 9:08SPEAKER_01: Or can I jump in and yeah, jump in and just be in flow state and just add my creative genius wherever I need to?
- 9:17SPEAKER_00: When you told me that was part of my human design, that was also so great to hear because the collective is obviously my six-month mastermind and it's somewhat mapped out for the six months, but I'll get a download on a Monday and by Tuesday we've got a workshop on it.
- 9:31SPEAKER_00: And again, sometimes I'd get in my head, we need a clear curriculum, we need to stick to the roadmap, but I just don't operate like that.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: No.
- 9:39SPEAKER_00: And then when you told me that, I was like, okay, good.
- 9:41SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 9:41SPEAKER_00: I operate like that.
- 9:42SPEAKER_01: I feel like it's it's it gives you permission.
- 9:44SPEAKER_01: It just gives you permission to be who you are.
- 9:47SPEAKER_01: And it's it's almost like you know these things about yourself, but you feel like you have to follow a certain formula or you have to follow a certain structure because that's what coaches online tell you to do, or it's all the advice that you've been conditioned to believe in school and throughout your career.
- 10:04SPEAKER_01: It's just, yeah, it's about understanding how do you best operate.
- 10:08SPEAKER_01: And sometimes you might think that you're best designed to operate a certain way, but when you actually take a step back and you go, oh my gosh, when I'm in that state, my nervous system is so dysregulated.
- 10:21SPEAKER_01: So actually trying to understand how you are designed and do a little bit of an audit and see, okay, am I actually operating in alignment with that or am I going against it?
- 10:31SPEAKER_01: And how is my body actually feeling when I am in a misalignment or alignment?
- 10:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: And also being okay, or when there is resistance, especially as a manifesting generator, as you spoke about, question that.
- 10:44SPEAKER_00: Don't just say, oh, get going.
- 10:46SPEAKER_00: Like you've got work to do, just push through.
- 10:49SPEAKER_00: Like if there is resistance, if it's no longer lighting us up, sit back and ask the question.
- 10:54SPEAKER_00: Like, what needs to shift?
- 10:55SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 10:55SPEAKER_00: Stop pushing things and forcing things.
- 10:57SPEAKER_00: Because when we are in flow, things do naturally come easy.
- 11:00SPEAKER_00: Um, okay, so that's the design type.
- 11:03SPEAKER_01: Yes, so yes, so energy type.
- 11:05SPEAKER_00: Energy type.
- 11:05SPEAKER_01: So I would start with energy type, understanding what your energy type is.
- 11:09SPEAKER_01: I would then look at your strategy.
- 11:12SPEAKER_01: So your strategy is how you initiate action.
- 11:17SPEAKER_01: So if you're a generator, your strategy will be to respond.
- 11:21SPEAKER_01: If you are a manifesting generator, it's to inform and respond.
- 11:27SPEAKER_01: So going back to the generator, to respond is simply you are consistently in a state where you are driven to act or move on things based on what's happening in your environment.
- 11:43SPEAKER_01: So if somebody's requested something or a lead's come in, or a new client's given you a call, you are simply responding to that.
- 11:52SPEAKER_01: The idea of a generator, though, is to get very clear on me acting on this particular task or this request, is that going to light me up?
- 12:02SPEAKER_01: And if it's not, I need to have more boundaries and say no.
- 12:06SPEAKER_01: Because if you keep saying yes to all of the responses and just doing for the sake of appeasing others or to keep afloat, or because you have this motorized battery that you can just keep going, when you don't hold boundaries and when you don't learn to say no in business in particular, that's when you burn out.
- 12:24SPEAKER_01: And so for a manifesting generator, it's that, but there's a step before that.
- 12:28SPEAKER_01: Manifesting generators need to be informing people.
- 12:32SPEAKER_01: They need to be letting the community know, letting the clients know, just to let them, yeah, just to give them a bit of a heads up on this is what I'm doing, this is why I'm doing it.
- 12:42SPEAKER_01: I'm just giving you a heads up, and then we're gonna move on to the next best thing or whatever.
- 12:48SPEAKER_01: Sorry, I'll keep going and then I'll get out of here.
- 12:50SPEAKER_01: No, that's okay.
- 12:50SPEAKER_01: That's okay.
- 12:51SPEAKER_01: And then with a manifester, it is to inform.
- 12:56SPEAKER_01: So manifestors similar to a manifesting generator, they just simply state what they are doing, why they're doing it, the outcome or the benefit that's gonna have for others, or you know, whether it's like an individual or a team or a business, they are just simply here to do and lead the way.
- 13:17SPEAKER_01: And they just let everyone know that that's what they're doing.
- 13:19SPEAKER_01: So, how projectors initiate action is to actually wait for the invitation.
- 13:25SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 13:25SPEAKER_01: And that can feel so passive for a projector because they just feel like, why am I just sitting around waiting to be invited into things?
- 13:35SPEAKER_01: And a lot of the times a projector has all of the answers.
- 13:38SPEAKER_01: They can see things very clearly.
- 13:40SPEAKER_01: They also have like this really amazing bird's eye view of things.
- 13:46SPEAKER_01: And so to wait for the invitation can sometimes be mistaken as yeah, being passive.
- 13:53SPEAKER_01: But basically, it's about becoming the go-to person, almost like mastering the craft and people seeing you as like the keynote individual to go to for things that you just are naturally invited into situations, invited to provide your advice, invited to come onto podcasts and share.
- 14:14SPEAKER_01: And it's about yeah, really trying to build that perception of mastery, like you are the go-to person.
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: So it sounds to me they have to really create a lot of visibility around their work, yes, showcase their expertise, yes, be seen, yeah, and then the invitation will come from that.
- 14:34SPEAKER_00: Um, while we are talking about this, since you came into the collective and you are a part of that, they all go and look at their human design now.
- 14:43SPEAKER_00: It's very much a part of our strategy, which is so incredible.
- 14:45SPEAKER_00: And I always get the question, what do you mean I have to wait to respond?
- 14:50SPEAKER_00: Or what do you mean I have to wait for the invitation?
- 14:52SPEAKER_00: I think our brain immediately goes, so in the case of responding, our brain immediately goes, Am I responding to a DM question?
- 14:59SPEAKER_00: Like, is that what I'm responding to?
- 15:01SPEAKER_00: So, what other things is something we would respond to that's not an immediate question of like, hey Jess, when does the collective open?
- 15:08SPEAKER_00: Or hey Jess, do you have this offer?
- 15:09SPEAKER_00: Like, yeah, does that make sense?
- 15:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 15:11SPEAKER_01: So I would almost think of it as like also responding to trends.
- 15:16SPEAKER_01: Like, what are you seeing that's happening in your industry or your world that either resonates or gives you the ick?
- 15:26SPEAKER_01: And so if it resonates, you can tie that in.
- 15:28SPEAKER_01: If it gives you the ick, almost like this repellent of like I'm gonna do things so differently that uh it feels aligned with me.
- 15:36SPEAKER_01: So it's it's not just responding to it's not just like being reactive to like DMs or client calls or questions or whatever, it's actually responding to your world, responding to what you are feeling, seeing, sensing.
- 15:52SPEAKER_00: That does make sense.
- 15:53SPEAKER_00: Does that make sense?
- 15:53SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, sure.
- 15:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that does make sense.
- 15:56SPEAKER_00: Um and again, the more I've lean into that, the more that content lands.
- 16:02SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 16:03SPEAKER_00: Again, I'll get a question or I'll see something unfolding online and I'll want to contribute to that conversation.
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: That's always the podcast episodes that go off, or the conversations that again really land with my audience.
- 16:14SPEAKER_00: Um, so yeah, hopefully that's cleared that up for some people who had or also questioned, like, what are we actually responding to?
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 16:21SPEAKER_00: Um okay, so we've done have we done reflector.
- 16:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:26SPEAKER_01: So reflector is the last one.
- 16:28SPEAKER_01: So reflector is one of those non-energy types that needs to work in bursts and then tapers off.
- 16:33SPEAKER_01: So the strategy, how reflectors initiate action, is to wait a full 28-day lunar cycle.
- 16:41SPEAKER_01: Again, that can feel really passive, but how I interpret that for clients is that you need all of the facts, you need to feel things out before you make big decisions.
- 16:56SPEAKER_01: So uh when we when we talk about initiating action, uh yes, we want to try and utilize this tool throughout day-to-day life, but again, it is a tool.
- 17:09SPEAKER_01: So there are circumstances in life where you just have to pivot and you just have to make really fast decisions and whatever it may be.
- 17:17SPEAKER_01: But a reflector, if they are making really big decisions in business or in life, that is when I would encourage them to definitely use that full 28-day cycle to just feel into it.
- 17:33SPEAKER_01: And usually during that time, like I said before, a reflector will be researching the shit out of that thing.
- 17:39SPEAKER_01: They will be uh yeah, investigating it, researching it, really just feeling into it, listing out the pros, the cons, the costs, the benefits, and then making a decision based on that.
- 17:50SPEAKER_01: They reach a clarity after they've uh gone through all of the investigative tools and gone through the cycle.
- 17:57SPEAKER_00: Which that's huge.
- 17:58SPEAKER_00: If you're making decisions today as that energy time, yeah, that's a huge difference in like how you're gonna feel today and in 28 days after you've done the research and actually put the work in.
- 18:09SPEAKER_01: Um and a lot of the time a reflector will have already done that research anyway, because they've already sort of thought about it.
- 18:19SPEAKER_01: And so it might not make uh sorry, it might not feel like such a huge decision when they make it because in the background they've already been doing research and they've already been thinking about it and feeling into it without even realizing that that's gonna form part of a decision in say four weeks' time.
- 18:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's really interesting.
- 18:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that makes sense.
- 18:39SPEAKER_00: Um, okay, so for them, definitely wait, wait it out before you're making huge decisions.
- 18:44SPEAKER_00: Um and then the yes, okay, so then authority.
- 18:46SPEAKER_00: Authority, yes.
- 18:47SPEAKER_01: So your authority is how you best make decisions, and so there's a bunch of different um authorities that everybody can tap into or have.
- 18:59SPEAKER_01: The biggest ones that I see are mainly the sacral, the emotional, and the spleenic.
- 19:06SPEAKER_01: The other ones are mental and self-projected with the emotional authority.
- 19:14SPEAKER_01: So that means that you're an emotional decision maker.
- 19:17SPEAKER_01: So that means that you need time to I wouldn't say like lots of time, but just give yourself some space and a moment to really reflect and go, okay, yes, I'm going to say yes to this opportunity, or no, it's not aligned for me.
- 19:32SPEAKER_01: Because quite often when we are in a state of, I don't know, like high on caffeine, or you're buzzing from a client meeting and you're like, yes, yes, yes, you just want to say yes to everything, or you're in a state of mind where you just want to say no to everything, that will influence your decision.
- 19:48SPEAKER_01: So the best thing is to move away out of that situation and give yourself time to actually feel into whether that's a right decision or the wrong decision, which makes sense because I'm an emotional authority.
- 20:00SPEAKER_00: Yes, same.
- 20:02SPEAKER_00: Um, and it's so true.
- 20:03SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 20:04SPEAKER_00: Let's get coffee tomorrow.
- 20:05SPEAKER_00: I'm like, let's get coffee tomorrow.
- 20:06SPEAKER_00: I can't wait to be up for the sunrise.
- 20:07SPEAKER_00: And then I go to bed that night and I'm like, oh, why did I say yes to coffee?
- 20:10SPEAKER_00: I don't want to go, I don't want to go.
- 20:12SPEAKER_00: So it's like this full emotional wave.
- 20:14SPEAKER_00: Um, so just like giving yourself time to feel the whole emotional wave and then make that decision.
- 20:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 20:19SPEAKER_01: And I've been really practicing that because I feel like I am somebody who gets caught in just yes, saying yes in the moment or saying no in the moment and regretting it.
- 20:30SPEAKER_01: So what I always try and do is ask the person when is the latest that I can get back to you, or can I let you know how I'm feeling in the morning?
- 20:38SPEAKER_01: Love that.
- 20:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 20:39SPEAKER_01: Just to give yourself, just give yourself like 12 to 24 hours.
- 20:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 20:43SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 20:43SPEAKER_00: And what an easy way to go about that.
- 20:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 20:46SPEAKER_00: When do I need to get back to you?
- 20:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 20:47SPEAKER_00: Why do we feel like we need to give answers in the moment, exactly time?
- 20:52SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 20:53SPEAKER_00: Um, and then tell us how the spleenic and the sacral.
- 20:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 20:59SPEAKER_00: How how does that give you answers, responses?
- 21:02SPEAKER_00: Like how are we listening to that?
- 21:04SPEAKER_01: So sacral is all about feeling into it.
- 21:09SPEAKER_01: So it's like gut instinct.
- 21:10SPEAKER_01: So my husband is a sacral decision maker.
- 21:14SPEAKER_01: So when we are at a point where we have to make big decisions, I I always ask him, well, what feels right?
- 21:22SPEAKER_01: Like what is your gut saying?
- 21:24SPEAKER_01: And for a sacral authority, when they have to fill into a decision, whether it's yes, no, or somebody said we're gonna do this, if your initial feeling in your stomach is like a punch to the gut or an expansive feeling, that's either a no or a yes.
- 21:46SPEAKER_01: So the no is the punch to the gut, almost like this restriction in the stomach.
- 21:50SPEAKER_01: And then the yes is like this expansive, like, oh my gosh, like almost like butterflies in the stomach.
- 21:56SPEAKER_01: And for all of my clients who are sacrilegating.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: Decision makers that feel like they make decisions from logic as opposed to intuition, I get them to do like a this-that exercise where basically somebody that they love or someone that knows them really well asks them a series of this-that questions.
- 22:18SPEAKER_01: So like coffee, tea, beach, forest, and they just have to respond instantly on how they're feeling in their stomach.
- 22:24SPEAKER_01: So taking away the mind, what does your stomach feel in those moments?
- 22:30SPEAKER_00: And does that come on straight away for them?
- 22:31SPEAKER_00: Is it that initial response you get in the body?
- 22:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 22:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 22:35SPEAKER_00: Because so, okay, this is kind of off track now.
- 22:39SPEAKER_00: We talk about being intuitively led in business in general.
- 22:42SPEAKER_00: Like, what's your intuition say?
- 22:44SPEAKER_00: As someone who, for example, has an emotional authority, are we less tapped into that intuitive body yes or no?
- 22:54SPEAKER_01: No, I would say that we still are, but it is stronger in those that have a spleenic or a sacral authority.
- 23:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 23:04SPEAKER_00: Which makes sense because I feel like I do struggle to feel that gut instinct sometimes.
- 23:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 23:10SPEAKER_00: And obviously that's not my authority.
- 23:13SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's one of those things, right?
- 23:15SPEAKER_00: And that I actually love that exercise, this that exercise to train yourself.
- 23:19SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 23:19SPEAKER_00: We are so programmed to think with our head.
- 23:21SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 23:22SPEAKER_00: As women, we should be thinking more and answering more with our body.
- 23:25SPEAKER_00: But yeah, I'm the first to raise my hand and say I do often struggle to differentiate between intuition, what's my body saying, and my mind and logic.
- 23:35SPEAKER_01: Do you feel it in your chest?
- 23:36SPEAKER_01: Because I feel it in my chest.
- 23:38SPEAKER_00: My stomach, if my body is responding, it's definitely yeah, it's either the butterflies or the sick feeling.
- 23:43SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 23:44SPEAKER_00: Like just above my belly button.
- 23:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:46SPEAKER_00: If my body is responding.
- 23:48SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 23:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:49SPEAKER_01: So I would just, yeah, give yourself that time and then come back to when you have to make the decision after you've given your yourself the time to come down from an emotional low or come up from an emotional, uh, sorry, come down from an emotional high, up from an emotional low, to then go, okay, now what am I feeling like today?
- 24:11SPEAKER_01: And then letting the stomach do the talking.
- 24:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that makes sense.
- 24:14SPEAKER_01: Or your heart.
- 24:14SPEAKER_01: Like I feel it in my heart, my chest.
- 24:17SPEAKER_01: So for me, when things are a no, it's like almost like tightening in my chest.
- 24:22SPEAKER_01: And when things are a yes, I get butterflies in my stomach.
- 24:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 24:26SPEAKER_01: Which is interesting.
- 24:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that is interesting.
- 24:28SPEAKER_00: But it's different.
- 24:30SPEAKER_00: Um, okay, so that's have we have we covered all bases?
- 24:33SPEAKER_01: So what we've that's sacral spleenic, which is one of the ones that I come across quite regularly as well, is the just initial instinct.
- 24:45SPEAKER_01: Quite often, a splenic authority will just instantaneously know if it's a yes or a no.
- 24:53SPEAKER_01: Like they just have this initial instinct of yeah, or no.
- 24:59SPEAKER_01: And uh on the flip side of an emotional authority, our spleenic authorities can sometimes feel like or second guess that feeling because they're like, Well, why am I not giving myself time to feel into this?
- 25:13SPEAKER_01: Like, I need to give myself time to feel into it.
- 25:15SPEAKER_01: But often when they reflect on situations where they had an initial decision or an instinctual decision, and then their partner was like, No, no, no, like let's just give it a few days, and then they sort of changed their thinking and changed their decision.
- 25:31SPEAKER_01: When they reflect back on those situations, they go, I regret it because my first decision was the right decision.
- 25:37SPEAKER_01: But then they let logic overtake yeah, it's like I can't just now I need to think about it.
- 25:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah, this is why this information is so helpful, not just in business, but also in relationships and life in general.
- 25:48SPEAKER_00: And how different are all of those authorities that we've just spoken about?
- 25:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 25:52SPEAKER_00: Like that's why this stuff is so important.
- 25:54SPEAKER_01: Um children, like my both of my boys are emotional decision makers, like me.
- 25:59SPEAKER_01: And so when I compare that to say kids that are a splenic decision maker, where they're just like, no, no, no, no, and like they've so instinctually led children.
- 26:08SPEAKER_01: I would then take the response of that child having that initial no as like who's a spleenic authority, listen, listen to them.
- 26:17SPEAKER_01: Whereas with my boys, I'm always like, let's talk about it tomorrow.
- 26:21SPEAKER_01: I love that.
- 26:21SPEAKER_01: Let's see how you feel tomorrow.
- 26:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 26:23SPEAKER_00: I remember at the collective soiree, you were just telling the women that you know your kids' human design.
- 26:31SPEAKER_00: Obviously, this is your area of expertise.
- 26:33SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 26:33SPEAKER_00: And my ears just pricked up.
- 26:34SPEAKER_00: I'm like, oh my, of course, you know your own kids.
- 26:37SPEAKER_00: This doesn't just stop in business.
- 26:39SPEAKER_00: What a powerful tool to have.
- 26:40SPEAKER_00: Like, what an incredible way to get to know your kids because again, how they respond and how they move through life is so different.
- 26:47SPEAKER_02: It's amazing.
- 26:48SPEAKER_00: So tell us, give us some examples of how you do weave their human design into them being kids.
- 26:55SPEAKER_01: I think like the biggest thing for me.
- 26:57SPEAKER_01: So I grew up with astrology, knew astrology, studied it, and so was always applying that in my life and then in motherhood.
- 27:08SPEAKER_01: But then when I finished studying astrology, I was like, I need more, and then I studied human design.
- 27:13SPEAKER_01: And so layering astrology with human design is just like the most amazing parenting toolbook that you just don't have access to.
- 27:23SPEAKER_01: And so when I realized, particularly like my son being a manifesting generator and how that impacts me as a manifester, I could understand why I was so triggered by him constantly wanting to do different tasks all the time.
- 27:39SPEAKER_01: So it would be, you know, I'd set up arts and craft when he was little.
- 27:43SPEAKER_01: This is before I knew his design type.
- 27:44SPEAKER_01: I'd set up arts and craft because that's what he wanted to do.
- 27:47SPEAKER_01: He would do it for 10 minutes and then he'd be like, Mom, can we go do this?
- 27:50SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, hold on, wait.
- 27:51SPEAKER_01: I just did that and I'm not ready to move on yet.
- 27:55SPEAKER_01: Wait, what?
- 27:56SPEAKER_01: And then he's like, No, I want to go like play soccer or no, I want to go ride my bike.
- 27:59SPEAKER_01: And now I want to go make an experiment in the kitchen.
- 28:01SPEAKER_01: I'm like, oh my God.
- 28:02SPEAKER_01: I just feel like it felt really scattered and really scattered.
- 28:06SPEAKER_01: And the more that I learn about human design and understood his energy type, it made so much more sense.
- 28:14SPEAKER_01: And so now I know that I need to communicate to him when mummy needs rest because I'm a manifesto, right?
- 28:21SPEAKER_01: So I can give him my all for 90 minutes and I can lock in, and I'm using 90 minutes as an example.
- 28:27SPEAKER_01: Everyone has different thresholds, but I can like give him my all for 90 minutes and be super present with him, but then I need time to just chill.
- 28:38SPEAKER_01: And for me, that's just doing something alone.
- 28:42SPEAKER_01: And so now I'm very conscious of communicating that with him.
- 28:46SPEAKER_01: Whereas my youngest, he's a manifestor, so he's like me.
- 28:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like he doesn't need me to be setting up activities all of the time and being with him all of the time.
- 28:59SPEAKER_01: Whereas Freddie was very much about like, you're we're you're playing with me, like we're playing all day.
- 29:05SPEAKER_01: Whereas Franco's like, wants me to play, and then he's like, Yeah, cool.
- 29:08SPEAKER_01: I'm out chill.
- 29:09SPEAKER_01: He's like, I just want to sit.
- 29:10SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, Yeah, me too.
- 29:12SPEAKER_01: What's your husband's um type?
- 29:14SPEAKER_01: He's a generator.
- 29:15SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 29:15SPEAKER_01: So he's like Freddie, where they just can go and go and go.
- 29:19SPEAKER_01: Like, I there's a classic example last night where he had like a bit of a day at work, and then he's helped me with some um business development strategy for my business.
- 29:29SPEAKER_01: And then once the kids have gone to sleep, which is like two hours of like back-to-back bartering and like trying to just organize our lives.
- 29:39SPEAKER_01: It's a lot.
- 29:40SPEAKER_01: I find it a lot and very overstimulating time.
- 29:43SPEAKER_01: Um, I come downstairs and he's like, So, do you want to like talk about the business development plan?
- 29:48SPEAKER_01: I'm like, Tony, it's quarter to nine.
- 29:50SPEAKER_01: No.
- 29:50SPEAKER_01: I have had a day, and yes, like Wednesdays are my days at home with the kids, and they're like the fullest, most full-on days.
- 29:57SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, no.
- 29:58SPEAKER_01: He's like, Don't talk to me.
- 30:00SPEAKER_01: And then he takes offense to it.
- 30:00SPEAKER_01: I'm like, babe, I need to chill.
- 30:03SPEAKER_01: I cannot be on right now.
- 30:05SPEAKER_01: I cannot be switched on right now.
- 30:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 30:07SPEAKER_01: So understanding how he operates and I'm trying to educate him around how I operate.
- 30:13SPEAKER_01: And um, yeah, it was funny last night when we were watching a TV show, he was like, Oh, I bet you that this coach, he's a generator.
- 30:21SPEAKER_01: And I was like, Okay, good.
- 30:22SPEAKER_00: It's clicking.
- 30:24SPEAKER_00: And that yeah, how good is it when they just get it?
- 30:26SPEAKER_00: And one day they just understand what you do, and or you're like, you do listen.
- 30:30SPEAKER_00: Yes, you do listen.
- 30:31SPEAKER_00: I hope that answered your question.
- 30:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah, absolutely.
- 30:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah, definitely understanding.
- 30:35SPEAKER_01: So with kids like understanding their energy types, so important, their authority, so how they best make decisions.
- 30:41SPEAKER_01: So my both of my boys are emotional, and then also understanding their environment and their digestion types.
- 30:48SPEAKER_01: So in the environment is really important because that highlights the types of environments that serves your nervous system, that actually allows you to step into your highest expression versus slowest expression.
- 31:01SPEAKER_01: And then your digestion is how you best consume not only your food, but also information.
- 31:08SPEAKER_01: My environment is valleys.
- 31:09SPEAKER_01: Yes, yeah.
- 31:11SPEAKER_01: So being on the ground, having access to everything that you need, working as a team.
- 31:16SPEAKER_01: It's a very nurturing style of um environment.
- 31:22SPEAKER_01: So yeah, being able to connect with others.
- 31:25SPEAKER_00: Interesting.
- 31:26SPEAKER_00: And now, obviously, we are, you know, very off topic of business, but a lot of my listeners have kids.
- 31:31SPEAKER_00: How do you then navigate school and what's that gonna look like for your kids, knowing your kids so deeply like that?
- 31:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's so hard.
- 31:40SPEAKER_00: It's so hard.
- 31:41SPEAKER_01: And look, I don't like the school system ever since I've done this work.
- 31:47SPEAKER_01: Like it's just the more I do this work, the more I realize how backward and behind the system is and how much of a system it is.
- 31:57SPEAKER_01: Like, it's crazy.
- 31:59SPEAKER_01: It makes it really tricky.
- 32:01SPEAKER_01: All I can do is just try and create an environment at home that serves my boys as opposed to breaks them.
- 32:10SPEAKER_01: And I mean, Freddie being a manifesting generator, a lot of the feedback that I get from teachers is that he finds it hard to focus, or he wants to still be doing a particular task, or he doesn't want to do all of the tasks that we're involved in, he wants to move on to the next.
- 32:26SPEAKER_01: And so I think they're alluding to oh, he might have a bit of neurodivergence, he's a bit spicy, and I'm like, yeah, he's a bit spicy, but aren't we all?
- 32:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's the environment that we're in.
- 32:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but then I'm also like he's a manifesting generator.
- 32:40SPEAKER_00: Like I wish this was taught to teachers, it should be, it should be, it should be because now he's going to run the risk of getting a label at school and then being dealt with accordingly when there's actually nothing in quotes wrong with him.
- 32:52SPEAKER_00: No, it's exactly how he's supposed to be, exactly.
- 32:54SPEAKER_01: And I and I don't want that to dim his light, which I feel like it does.
- 32:59SPEAKER_01: And then this is where all of the conditioning happens in school.
- 33:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 33:02SPEAKER_01: So then when by the time we finish school, we feel so like, who am I?
- 33:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 33:06SPEAKER_01: Like, what?
- 33:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 33:08SPEAKER_01: And so yeah, all I can do is just keep reiterating to him like this is how you're designed to operate.
- 33:13SPEAKER_01: It's okay.
- 33:14SPEAKER_01: Mummy doesn't care if you get in trouble for stuff like that.
- 33:17SPEAKER_01: The only time where I care that you get in trouble is if you've hurt somebody or yeah, you haven't been a nice person.
- 33:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 33:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 33:24SPEAKER_01: Otherwise, it's because how old, how old is he?
- 33:27SPEAKER_01: He's the eldest one, isn't he?
- 33:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he's the eldest one.
- 33:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 33:30SPEAKER_01: So he's nearly seven in December.
- 33:32SPEAKER_00: It's so weird to say I've got a seven-year-old.
- 33:34SPEAKER_01: Nearly seven-year-old.
- 33:35SPEAKER_01: Um, so he's in grade one.
- 33:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 33:37SPEAKER_00: And so does he understand when you say this?
- 33:39SPEAKER_00: Like, this is kind of you know, this is who you're supposed to be, and this is how this is why your brain works this way.
- 33:44SPEAKER_01: So it depends on his mood.
- 33:46SPEAKER_01: Like sometimes he's really open to having those conversations, and then he'll ask me questions.
- 33:52SPEAKER_01: He knows star signs now.
- 33:54SPEAKER_01: So when we find out somebody's like birth month, he's like, Oh mummy, they're a Sagittarius.
- 34:00SPEAKER_01: Like stop, I love him so much.
- 34:02SPEAKER_01: So he knows that.
- 34:03SPEAKER_01: But yeah, sometimes people like, Mom, I don't want to talk about this right now.
- 34:06SPEAKER_01: I'm like, okay, fine.
- 34:09SPEAKER_00: That's so good.
- 34:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 34:10SPEAKER_00: Um, yeah, I love that.
- 34:12SPEAKER_00: And I think it's such a beautiful way that you are raising your kids, and I'm sure you've inspired many women just to get to know their kids in that way.
- 34:18SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 34:19SPEAKER_00: Um, now before we move on from human design, you just spoke before about the crossover between human design and astrology.
- 34:29SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 34:29SPEAKER_00: Tell us what is like how is astrology impacting the human design and what is that crossover?
- 34:35SPEAKER_01: So human design incorporates parts of astrology.
- 34:39SPEAKER_01: So it uses certain placements from your astrological chart to map like energy type or to map um your profile or to map certain aspects in your human design chart.
- 34:51SPEAKER_01: So human design's this modality that has come from the Chabala, the I think it's the Ai Ching, the astrology, and there's another one.
- 35:03SPEAKER_01: I think it's like quantum physics and a bunch of different things that sort of oh the chakra system, sorry, that's come together to create human design.
- 35:10SPEAKER_01: Whereas astrology is a very ancient modality that was used by our ancestors very long ago.
- 35:18SPEAKER_01: So how it cross over crosses over is that it it depends on the placements in your chart, it influences certain aspects in uh in your human design.
- 35:29SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 35:29SPEAKER_00: And then so obviously astrology, it's like the planets are always moving.
- 35:34SPEAKER_00: And it's that's shifting.
- 35:36SPEAKER_00: Does that then shift obviously how we are showing up because of that?
- 35:40SPEAKER_01: So okay, so human design and your astrological natal chart is based on who you are.
- 35:47SPEAKER_01: That's your energetic map from when you were born, and that doesn't change unless there are certain transits of certain planets that are influencing differences in that chart.
- 35:58SPEAKER_01: So it's not necessarily impacting only you as an individual.
- 36:03SPEAKER_01: It's like this is what's happening in the world right now that could be impacting your community or it could be impacting um family or the way that the world is running right now.
- 36:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 36:14SPEAKER_01: Does that make sense?
- 36:15SPEAKER_00: So the transits, going back to that, that's obviously how things are shifting.
- 36:19SPEAKER_00: Do you use transits in your business to make decisions?
- 36:23SPEAKER_00: Are you thinking about that when you are considering a launch or what off to run?
- 36:28SPEAKER_01: Definitely, yeah.
- 36:30SPEAKER_01: So I so normally I do a bit of an audit at the end of the year of what are the astrological transits for the year ahead, and I'll have a look at certain periods and I'll go, okay, this is going to be really highlighting something powerful in my chart.
- 36:43SPEAKER_01: I think this is a great time to activate a new launch.
- 36:47SPEAKER_01: Whereas this is a time where I'm probably going to be struggling.
- 36:50SPEAKER_01: There might be like Mercury in retrograde or you know, or Pluto in retrograde, some times where you are forced to come to a dead stop or reflect and revise.
- 37:01SPEAKER_01: So then I'll map out some time in that period of the year to just slow down a little bit and let go of some of the benchmarks that I'm holding for myself, or yeah, just use that time for a more instiller period, becoming more inward and questioning.
- 37:19SPEAKER_00: And is that what a reading with you tells us?
- 37:21SPEAKER_00: Like, how do we know how our chart will be influenced depending on the transits?
- 37:26SPEAKER_01: It will depend.
- 37:27SPEAKER_01: So a lot of the time when people first start work with me, we look at their energetic map so we understand who they are before the world told them who to be.
- 37:39SPEAKER_01: And so that's basically looking at their astrological nail chart and the human design chart.
- 37:46SPEAKER_01: And then if they are wanting to develop, say, a business plan from that or they're wanting to map out what the year ahead looks like, that's when we'll then do a transit reading on top of that.
- 37:58SPEAKER_01: So I won't do a transit reading unless I know that person's chart.
- 38:02SPEAKER_01: Like I want to know their natal chart first, and then the transit readings form part of that.
- 38:07SPEAKER_01: So anyone who comes into my world when they jump into like a program or a container with me, we do look at transit say every month.
- 38:17SPEAKER_01: Like this is what could be happening this month, just to be aware of it.
- 38:20SPEAKER_01: And you can run with it or you can just go, yeah, whatever.
- 38:25SPEAKER_03: Yeah, but yeah.
- 38:26SPEAKER_01: Is there a transit coming up we should all be aware of?
- 38:31SPEAKER_01: We are so we're moving into spring.
- 38:35SPEAKER_01: We've got a Mercury retrograde that's happening, I think it's like end of September, which is probably gonna impact the way that we creatively express ourselves, the way that we communicate, being able to communicate our needs, our wants, our desires, boundaries.
- 38:54SPEAKER_01: There was another one that I was looking into because I'm running an event on Sunday and I'm like, I wanted to have a look at the major transit.
- 39:01SPEAKER_00: It is such good information to have because you do randomly just feel different at times in the year.
- 39:05SPEAKER_01: So yeah, there's a Mercury retrograde in Scorpio that's happening.
- 39:09SPEAKER_01: I think it's um oh when was yeah, it was like later, later in October.
- 39:15SPEAKER_01: We've got a Chiron retrograde that actually enters into Aries, and then we've got a Venus retrograde that's split between that Scorpio Libra period.
- 39:27SPEAKER_01: Any of them good or bad?
- 39:29SPEAKER_01: Um be careful of.
- 39:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah, look, I feel like retrogrades get a bit of a bad rap, and they're like, oh my god, it's like things are happening.
- 39:37SPEAKER_01: That's yeah, it's like our world's ending.
- 39:40SPEAKER_01: I always look at retrogrades as time to just sit with the self.
- 39:45SPEAKER_01: Like it's almost like you need to just use that time to reflect and go inward.
- 39:52SPEAKER_01: So Chiron, I would say a Chiron retrograde in Aries will be really interesting for a lot of people.
- 39:57SPEAKER_01: So Chiron is um the old wounding healer.
- 40:01SPEAKER_01: So basically, Chiron reminds us of what our wounds are.
- 40:05SPEAKER_01: And so Aries Aries is all about um, yeah, Aries is all about identity, self-love, self-assertion.
- 40:13SPEAKER_01: So if you can imagine wounding around identity and wounding around asserting ourselves in certain situations might come up.
- 40:23SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 40:23SPEAKER_00: Well, some words.
- 40:25SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 40:25SPEAKER_01: Not feeling comfortable to do those things.
- 40:28SPEAKER_00: Right, okay.
- 40:28SPEAKER_00: All right, well, we'll keep an eye on that one.
- 40:30SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 40:30SPEAKER_00: Um now moving from the chart, just because I'm mindful of the time, take us through now the unique human operating system that you know is kind of what you really are known for.
- 40:40SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 40:40SPEAKER_00: Um, particularly the three layers our behavior wiring, productivity profile, and energetic map.
- 40:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 40:47SPEAKER_01: What does all of that mean?
- 40:48SPEAKER_01: So, so the unique operating system is something that I developed to really capture the whole person.
- 40:54SPEAKER_01: Because when I was working as an org psych and in HR many, many years prior in corporate, my past corporate life.
- 41:02SPEAKER_01: Well, I'm still in corporate, but yeah, working for the big man, big firms, it was all about behavioral wiring.
- 41:09SPEAKER_01: It was all about our cognition and very much, yeah, very much focused on the physical, the psychological.
- 41:16SPEAKER_01: The one thing that I felt was really missing was thing like the actual tasks that light us up, the tasks that drain us, as well as the energetic map.
- 41:26SPEAKER_01: So when I moved into my work in coaching and consulting, it was all about how can I blend my world of psychology with the energetics and giving everybody a full understanding of who they are on a psychological, physical, emotional, and spiritual level.
- 41:51SPEAKER_01: Because when you know everything, when you know all of it, it all makes sense.
- 41:54SPEAKER_01: It all starts to weave into one another.
- 41:56SPEAKER_01: So when I work with leaders, business owners, teams, we start there.
- 42:02SPEAKER_01: We start with developing individual awareness, which is the unique operating system.
- 42:07SPEAKER_01: So they'll do a behavioral profiling assessment.
- 42:10SPEAKER_01: I use disk uh in my work, and then they'll do a productivity profiling assessment, which is your genius, so understanding the tasks that energize you and the tasks that drain you, and then they'll do uh the energetic layer.
- 42:26SPEAKER_01: So I'll actually review their human design and parts of astrology to get the full understanding of who they are.
- 42:33SPEAKER_01: So they then will understand individually how they operate, and then as a team, this is where everybody stands individually.
- 42:41SPEAKER_01: How do we collectively complement and where there might be friction and how do we overcome that?
- 42:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's a huge piece of awareness to have in your career in general, in general, not just in business, like just careers and in teams.
- 42:54SPEAKER_00: What is usually the biggest shift that I don't know, a business, a department, a firm, or an agency, whatever would make after having that information?
- 43:04SPEAKER_00: Like, what's the biggest gap you tend to see?
- 43:08SPEAKER_01: I think it's this.
- 43:10SPEAKER_01: I mean, for a business owner, I think them understanding how they operate, that understanding their unique operating system, then allows them to make better hiring decisions, better workforce planning decisions.
- 43:23SPEAKER_01: They think they start thinking, okay, I don't need to grow this department because it will support X, Y, and Z or because my competitor has that.
- 43:32SPEAKER_01: I'm actually going to grow this department because it supports me and allows me to still do the things I love and outsource the things that I don't love.
- 43:40SPEAKER_01: And so it's about understanding what do I need as a business owner in my business to allow me to keep doing the stuff that lights me up.
- 43:50SPEAKER_00: And leading the growth of your company.
- 43:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 43:54SPEAKER_01: So that's probably one of the biggest things, particularly for business owners.
- 43:58SPEAKER_01: I think for teams, it's about understanding.
- 44:00SPEAKER_01: Where there might be certain gaps in the team, what do they need to hire?
- 44:05SPEAKER_01: Uh where do they need to just be more conscious of when they're communicating with one another?
- 44:11SPEAKER_01: When somebody might be in a down period, how do they support one another as opposed to just going, oh, that person's slacking off?
- 44:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 44:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 44:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 44:20SPEAKER_00: They're not doing it that way when they were never supposed to do it that way.
- 44:24SPEAKER_01: No.
- 44:24SPEAKER_01: Um and then it fits across all of the six pillars that I work within.
- 44:27SPEAKER_01: So the six pillars being, you know, culture, HR infrastructure, um, retain uh retention or retention of staff, onboarding of new staff, team dynamics, team development, and then supporting people with their transition back to work.
- 44:44SPEAKER_01: So particularly moms that are returning back to work, yeah, understanding what they specifically need.
- 44:49SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 44:49SPEAKER_00: If someone listening to this has a team, is this something you would recommend they get onto Amazon?
- 44:54SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 44:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 44:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 44:55SPEAKER_01: Because I mean you could do a disc or you could do human design, but it's not going to give you everything.
- 45:00SPEAKER_01: And so that's why this methodology that I use gives you everything.
- 45:06SPEAKER_01: It doesn't make you question, oh, but what is their human design?
- 45:10SPEAKER_01: Or like, oh, but okay, this is an energetic tool.
- 45:16SPEAKER_01: But I'd also like to do some sort of like psychological analysis or some sort of behavioral profiling to support that.
- 45:24SPEAKER_01: Because some people love the evidence-based stuff.
- 45:27SPEAKER_01: Not to say that human design and astrology is an evidence-based, because I can tell you right now, I can pull out receipts and show there's a lot of evidence.
- 45:34SPEAKER_01: Um, but you know, some people are so wound up on that.
- 45:36SPEAKER_01: So I think having the three layers really just gives you the full picture.
- 45:43SPEAKER_01: And there's no seat of doubt amongst all three.
- 45:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 45:47SPEAKER_00: Do you have a case study or before and after of a team type team dynamic or how things were working prior to you coming inverse after tell us?
- 45:56SPEAKER_00: Oh my god.
- 45:57SPEAKER_00: Like, where do I become?
- 45:58SPEAKER_01: I know which one.
- 46:00SPEAKER_01: Uh so there is an engineering business that I was working with.
- 46:05SPEAKER_01: And typically a lot of people who move into those types of roles are really in it because they love design or they love the project management piece.
- 46:16SPEAKER_01: And so typically in disc they would be either a C or an S style, quite passive, more in direct communication.
- 46:24SPEAKER_01: They're very process-driven.
- 46:26SPEAKER_01: And they actually had two people in the team that were D and I styles.
- 46:31SPEAKER_01: So for them, like D and I is the quite opposite of that.
- 46:36SPEAKER_01: They're just very like off the cuff, direct in their communication, will like go up to the desk and be like, hey, I need X, Y, and Z.
- 46:43SPEAKER_01: Whereas a C style or an S style would feel that as like quite dominating, quite micromanaging, very like off-putting behavior.
- 46:53SPEAKER_01: So there was a lot of friction around their communication style.
- 46:57SPEAKER_01: And then the working genius actually identified why there was two particular people in that team that was underperforming.
- 47:06SPEAKER_01: It wasn't that they couldn't do the work, it was that the role that they were in was full of their working frustrations, full of tasks that were actually draining them.
- 47:18SPEAKER_01: So they were feeling really burnt out and they weren't performing at the standard or had that sort of engagement and level of motivation that matched the performance of the others in the team.
- 47:28SPEAKER_01: So from that, we actually workshopped where else in the team could they take on particular projects, or is there some sort of secondment that they could do because they are really great individuals.
- 47:42SPEAKER_01: They want to keep them in the business, but how do we keep them engaged?
- 47:45SPEAKER_01: And then there was one particular person when we looked at the energetic maps.
- 47:52SPEAKER_01: The entire team except for one person were all energy types.
- 47:55SPEAKER_01: Oh wow.
- 47:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 47:56SPEAKER_01: So there was one person that was a projector, a non-energy type.
- 48:01SPEAKER_01: So they were trying to keep up with the pace of everybody else, and they too were just consistently burning out.
- 48:08SPEAKER_02: That's crazy.
- 48:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 48:09SPEAKER_00: I love this stuff so much.
- 48:11SPEAKER_00: Like, no, nowhere should we be seeing cookie cutter approaches or strategies.
- 48:15SPEAKER_00: Like, here's the role, here's the requirement, here's your task.
- 48:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 48:19SPEAKER_00: I'll see you in three months for your probation meeting, and let's hope you get there.
- 48:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah, exactly.
- 48:24SPEAKER_00: Everyone is so different.
- 48:26SPEAKER_00: Um, and again, this is why I love these conversations.
- 48:28SPEAKER_00: Like, we should be understanding ourselves through with this much depth, but also everyone we interact with, yeah, husband, kids, business partners, team, like understanding people.
- 48:40SPEAKER_00: Just it goes without saying things are gonna move so much smoothly.
- 48:44SPEAKER_00: Yes, yeah, yeah.
- 48:46SPEAKER_00: Um, okay, before we wrap things up, I want to throw a scenario that I expect a lot of listeners would relate to.
- 48:54SPEAKER_00: Um, they are maybe stuck at a bit of an income ceiling right now.
- 48:58SPEAKER_00: They want to scale the business, um, you know, yeah, more money, better clients.
- 49:04SPEAKER_00: What are the first things you would look at or question through the lens that we've just spoken about?
- 49:10SPEAKER_01: I think firstly, I would definitely look at their energy type.
- 49:15SPEAKER_01: Are they continually pushing when they are actually supposed to be having rest and recharge moments?
- 49:21SPEAKER_01: Because a lot of the time for projectors, manifestors, and reflectors, that rest period is the best time to reflect on what could be done better.
- 49:33SPEAKER_01: It's almost like you need to go through those periods to actually come out and go, okay, where do I need to pivot, recreate, switch things up, and then come back in?
- 49:44SPEAKER_01: So I would look at their energy type for sure, just understanding where are they how are they currently operating and how could that be impacting growth in their business?
- 49:54SPEAKER_01: And then I would also look at, I would ask, I would actually look at their working genius.
- 50:00SPEAKER_01: Are they in their zone of genius 90% of the time, or are they filling their days up with working frustrations, tasks that drain them of their energy?
- 50:12SPEAKER_01: Because when they're in that state where they're constantly working in their working frustration state, they aren't in their highest expression.
- 50:20SPEAKER_01: Therefore, they aren't magnetizing the right opportunities in their field, which I know you totally understand.
- 50:27SPEAKER_01: When you are in your highest state of flow, that is moving in alignment with your design, moving in alignment with your geniuses, that's when you are open to opportunities.
- 50:37SPEAKER_01: That is when you try attract the right things into your field.
- 50:40SPEAKER_01: That energy, as you've said, is just felt.
- 50:42SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 50:43SPEAKER_00: Suddenly things are just working.
- 50:44SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 50:45SPEAKER_00: We're doing the same amount of work last week, suddenly things are clicking and working.
- 50:49SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 50:49SPEAKER_00: I would love to know what my frustration tasks are because I'm feeling a bit like that in business.
- 50:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 50:54SPEAKER_01: And I've had that too.
- 50:56SPEAKER_01: Like I, yeah, I had to have these realizations around like there was a lot of things that I started outsourcing to AI.
- 51:01SPEAKER_01: Because I was like, oh, Claude can do this, Claude can do that, Claude can do this.
- 51:04SPEAKER_01: And I was like, oh, amazing.
- 51:06SPEAKER_01: And then I was sitting there one day and I was like, Oh, why did I get Claude to do that?
- 51:09SPEAKER_01: Because I actually really enjoy doing that task.
- 51:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 51:12SPEAKER_00: Why did I do that?
- 51:13SPEAKER_00: Because somebody told me that I could do that.
- 51:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 51:15SPEAKER_00: Or it's not considered, I don't know, maybe it's more of an admin task because we are the founders and you know, we should be the visionaries and we should be doing things over here.
- 51:23SPEAKER_00: It's like, no, I actually enjoy this task.
- 51:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like creating content.
- 51:26SPEAKER_01: I actually really enjoy writing my own carousel text and writing my own captions.
- 51:32SPEAKER_01: Like, I actually really enjoy doing that.
- 51:34SPEAKER_01: And there was a little while where I would like voice note my ideas into Claude and I'd be like, come up with a really catchy, uh, like a catchy caption for this.
- 51:43SPEAKER_01: And then I was like, why am I getting called to do that?
- 51:45SPEAKER_01: I can do that.
- 51:46SPEAKER_01: You enjoy that.
- 51:47SPEAKER_00: I'm a creator.
- 51:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 51:48SPEAKER_00: Well, that that's funny.
- 51:49SPEAKER_00: You say that when we walked in here today, I was speaking to the studio founders and they said, Do you get people to edit your podcast?
- 51:56SPEAKER_00: And I said, I have in the past, but I actually enjoy this part of my business, like my creative task in the business, like coming through and chopping the video up and putting some text on top.
- 52:06SPEAKER_00: Like I actually enjoy that.
- 52:07SPEAKER_00: Whereas, yeah, the old me would have thought that's wasting my time, that needs to get delegated.
- 52:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 52:12SPEAKER_00: Um, but yeah, definitely need to come back and take a look at the tasks that are draining me in my business.
- 52:18SPEAKER_00: Social media for sure.
- 52:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 52:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 52:21SPEAKER_01: I'm I've got, I remember when we were catching up, maybe it was like two or three weeks ago.
- 52:25SPEAKER_01: I was like, I am loving social media at the moment.
- 52:27SPEAKER_01: I'm showing up, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 52:29SPEAKER_01: And now I have the ick again.
- 52:30SPEAKER_01: Why does this happen?
- 52:31SPEAKER_01: Oh, it always happens.
- 52:33SPEAKER_01: I'm like, I show up and I do my thing, and then I'm like, no.
- 52:36SPEAKER_00: I we probably really should sit down and ask the question when we are loving social media, what are we posting?
- 52:42SPEAKER_00: How are we talking?
- 52:43SPEAKER_00: Are we getting caught up in this or that?
- 52:45SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 52:45SPEAKER_00: Probably not.
- 52:46SPEAKER_00: We're just doing our thing.
- 52:47SPEAKER_00: The moment we start to get pissed off by social media, probably subconsciously fallen back into doing what we think we should be doing online.
- 52:54SPEAKER_00: It's not actually completely off topic, but I'm loving carousels at the moment.
- 52:59SPEAKER_00: And I gave myself permission to be a carousel, carousel girl for a bit and not worry about the talking to camera stuff.
- 53:06SPEAKER_00: And one, I enjoy making them.
- 53:08SPEAKER_00: I love the portfolio look it creates on the feed.
- 53:11SPEAKER_00: And two, they are performing so well.
- 53:13SPEAKER_00: So it makes sense because I'm enjoying it.
- 53:15SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 53:16SPEAKER_00: Um, that energy is obviously being felt.
- 53:19SPEAKER_00: So yeah, but yeah, social media, it's a death of all of us.
- 53:24SPEAKER_00: Um, okay, well, we'll wrap it up there.
- 53:26SPEAKER_00: But let us know, let the let the listeners know where they can find you, why they should come to you, like what you can help them with.
- 53:33SPEAKER_00: Um, we'll obviously link everything in the show notes, but yeah, where can they find you?
- 53:37SPEAKER_01: And yeah, so Instagram, they can find me on Instagram, um, which is just lead by design.
- 53:43SPEAKER_01: I think it's like double underscores, but yeah, it's L-E-I-D.
- 53:46SPEAKER_01: So Lily E to lead by design.
- 53:48SPEAKER_01: Uh so that's probably like I I have a blend of like professional but also like my personal life on Instagram that I share.
- 53:56SPEAKER_01: And then LinkedIn's a lot more like polished corporate, and then website is www.leadbydesign.com.au.
- 54:05SPEAKER_01: I've got a bunch of resources on there.
- 54:07SPEAKER_01: There's also the um the human design chart generator on there as well, if they want to access that.
- 54:14SPEAKER_01: In terms of what people come to me for, I think if you're an individual like solopreneur, founder, then definitely coming to me to just understand your unique operating system, your behavioral layer, your productivity profile, and then your energetic design so that you can understand where you might be forcing as opposed to in flow to magnetize those opportunities.
- 54:41SPEAKER_01: And then if you are a business owner that runs a small team, medium-sized, large team, then I would actually encourage doing my lead your business audit.
- 54:53SPEAKER_01: So basically it's a five to seven minute online questionnaire that they can do that allows them to score their business across the six pillars that I work within.
- 55:04SPEAKER_01: And then from there they get a report on where they need to be uh leveling up certain areas in their business and then applying the unique operating system within that space.
- 55:17SPEAKER_00: That sounds great.
- 55:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 55:18SPEAKER_00: Well, I think I'm gonna come to you and go deeper with all of this.
- 55:21SPEAKER_00: Like especially yeah, the frustration tasks and just like the full system that you have available because after speaking with you today, the human design part is just a tiny little layer.
- 55:31SPEAKER_01: That's just like one component, yeah, one modality of part of my wider toolkit.
- 55:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I love this.
- 55:36SPEAKER_00: Okay, guys.
- 55:37SPEAKER_00: Well, go and learn more about yourself because it is a game changer in life in general, and we should all know this stuff about ourselves so that we are living in flow and things are just coming to us so much easier.
- 55:48SPEAKER_00: Um, so yeah, all of this is linked in the show notes below.
- 55:50SPEAKER_00: Click away, go do your thing.
- 55:52SPEAKER_00: Lily, thank you so much for coming into the studio today and sharing your knowledge on everything that we've spoken about today.
- 55:58SPEAKER_00: Um, and yeah, I'm excited for people to sink their teeth into your work and just experience the the aha moments that come when you do do this work.
- 56:08SPEAKER_00: It's amazing, honestly.
- 56:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah, cool.
- 56:10SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 56:11SPEAKER_00: Thank you guys for listening and I will speak to you guys in the next one.
- 56:14SPEAKER_02: Bye.
