- 0:01Speaker 1: Welcome to a meeting of the minds crafted from decades
- 0:05Speaker 1: of talk show experience, an extension of the magic they've
- 0:08Speaker 1: created together on radio in the phenomenon called M and M,
- 0:13Speaker 1: Hot Topics in the News and Wisdom from Life. It's
- 0:16Speaker 1: Mark Davis and Mike Gallagher.
- 0:19Speaker 2: This is emin M Extra and a good Monday morning, everybody.
- 0:24Speaker 2: It is the seventeenth of August and a hot summer
- 0:27Speaker 2: in Texas, hotter but less humid, one might argue than
- 0:30Speaker 2: in Mike Gallagher's Florida. He's one AM, I'm the other M.
- 0:33Speaker 2: How do you hope everybody's good? And of course everything
- 0:37Speaker 2: we do, we're just so incredible for even say one
- 0:39Speaker 2: word about anything. We're just so enormously proud to be here.
- 0:44Speaker 2: By virtue of the good people at Preborn, one of
- 0:46Speaker 2: our title sponsors, you can stand for life today by

- 1:02Speaker 2: zero baby, go to preborn dot com slash mm extra.
- 1:06Speaker 2: That's preborn dot com slash mm extra. More on that later.
- 1:10Speaker 2: But Mike, do you remember the old days of talk
- 1:12Speaker 2: shows where Monday, coming off a weekend, there was such
- 1:15Speaker 2: a thing as a slow period and a Monday you'd
- 1:18Speaker 2: have to kind of go looking for some topics and stuff.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Here we are on this Monday. I want to hear
- 1:23Speaker 2: more from you about the South Carolina subterfuge. I had
- 1:26Speaker 2: something happen on the show today that leads me to
- 1:28Speaker 2: ask the question, are we pretty well the part of
- 1:31Speaker 2: the point in history in this talk about Islam where
- 1:35Speaker 2: an outright mosque band is on the table? I asked
- 1:39Speaker 2: somebody this, we got movies to talk about. I have
- 1:41Speaker 2: an AI. I have an AI. It's not a campaign commercial,
- 1:45Speaker 2: but it's on behalf of It's an anti taller Eco spot.
- 1:49Speaker 2: It's about a minute fraction. It's AI and five things
- 1:53Speaker 2: occurred to me about it. I want to show it
- 1:55Speaker 2: to you into the world. So I mean that's just
- 1:57Speaker 2: for starters. I mean, what do you got?
- 1:59Speaker 3: Well, you want to start about old school? Why would
- 2:01Speaker 3: you say happy Monday morning? Do you not realize that
- 2:03Speaker 3: the vast majority of people that are going to be
- 2:05Speaker 3: taking part in our podcast are not in the morning. See,
- 2:09Speaker 3: you're so used to your creature of.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Happy, and I've alienated the untimed listenership of this is Noon's,
- 2:16Speaker 2: this is the morning, midnight on a Thursday.
- 2:18Speaker 3: Out of here, this is this is the veteran morning
- 2:21Speaker 3: show talk show host habit coming in Happy Monday morning, Everybody,
- 2:25Speaker 3: we're playing the hits. Yep, No we're not morning, We're
- 2:29Speaker 3: not evening, We're not afternoon. We are timeless.
- 2:32Speaker 2: We are here timeless morning.
- 2:34Speaker 3: Well, I'm about ageless morning, noon and night. I've aged
- 2:38Speaker 3: over the weekend. I got back from New York, but
- 2:40Speaker 3: I've been struggling with something that is so stupid and
- 2:44Speaker 3: so ridiculous, and it speaks to my bad habit. Well,
- 2:49Speaker 3: I sold my condo in Florida, and the plan is
- 2:53Speaker 3: looking down the road, five, ten, twenty years from now,
- 2:56Speaker 3: whenever it's going to be, then I finally retire, finally
- 2:58Speaker 3: hang up my spurs and decide enough of this rat race.
- 3:01Speaker 3: I want to, you know, be financially responsible. So I've
- 3:05Speaker 3: got a little I got some folks that I'm working
- 3:08Speaker 3: with and a little team of financial There's a financial
- 3:11Speaker 3: guy and of course Joey Hudson, and they said, great,
- 3:13Speaker 3: sell the condo. Wipe out your debt and rent. You know,
- 3:17Speaker 3: your age, you're not going to outlive a mortgage. So
- 3:20Speaker 3: they don't see a value because in Florida, where I
- 3:23Speaker 3: want to live, there's the mortgage, there's the homeowners' association fees,
- 3:27Speaker 3: there's the property taxes, which are crazy. You wind up
- 3:30Speaker 3: spending a ton of money. And if your rent and
- 3:33Speaker 3: everything's all one inclusive price in terms of cash flow,
- 3:37Speaker 3: you're better off at my age sixty six, go ahead
- 3:40Speaker 3: and rent, you know. And so all right, and I
- 3:42Speaker 3: found a great building, nice luxury rental building that's got
- 3:47Speaker 3: a nice two bedroom apartment. It's a little small for
- 3:50Speaker 3: what I'm used to, but that's okay. I'm not I
- 3:52Speaker 3: don't have the mansion that Mark and Lisa Davis love
- 3:55Speaker 3: to inhabit, or I've got a I've got a two
- 3:58Speaker 3: bedroom condo two and a half. And you know, I'm
- 4:02Speaker 3: going to downsize a little bit, and which means I
- 4:04Speaker 3: got to sell off some of my furniture because I've
- 4:06Speaker 3: got too much furniture. Long story short, The manager of
- 4:09Speaker 3: the apartment building calls me Friday and says, you know,
- 4:13Speaker 3: the three bedroom penhouse just opened up. Would you like
- 4:16Speaker 3: to consider the three bedroom penhouse.
- 4:20Speaker 2: And of course you're already done, is it? The deal
- 4:21Speaker 2: already done though, well, it's not done for rental. I
- 4:24Speaker 2: mean if you okay, no.
- 4:26Speaker 3: I don't move for a few more weeks. So the
- 4:28Speaker 3: closing's mid September. All this is gonna happen mid September. Well,
- 4:33Speaker 3: you know, that's like waving a red flag in front
- 4:36Speaker 3: of a bowl. Do you want the three bedroom penhouse
- 4:39Speaker 3: instead of the two bedroom on a middle floor? You
- 4:41Speaker 3: could have the big top of the building with the
- 4:44Speaker 3: big glass windows, and you got the soaking tub and
- 4:47Speaker 3: the bells and whistles. Now understand, it's just me. So
- 4:52Speaker 3: my kids. My kids are like, Dad, be responsible because
- 4:56Speaker 3: the rent Oh, by the way, now it doubles.
- 5:00Speaker 2: Say the cash flow advantage is about to disappear.
- 5:03Speaker 3: It did, it's gone. It's gone. It's the stupidest financial
- 5:07Speaker 3: move I could make. I'm about seventy five percent into
- 5:11Speaker 3: talking myself out of it. They're going to show it
- 5:14Speaker 3: to me this afternoon after the podcast. We're done.
- 5:16Speaker 2: You'll be signed by nightfall.
- 5:19Speaker 3: But it's a mistake, No, it's But it's a mistake
- 5:22Speaker 3: because financially, I'm putting myself back into the hole that
- 5:26Speaker 3: I was in with the homeowner's fees and then the property.
- 5:30Speaker 3: I'm trying to get out of that.
- 5:31Speaker 2: What I saw the thing is.
- 5:33Speaker 3: But you know, but Mark, can I ask you something
- 5:36Speaker 3: about the emotional upheaval I'm in over this stupid issue
- 5:40Speaker 3: that is probably we got too much to get to
- 5:43Speaker 3: and I promise one more minute on this. There's a
- 5:46Speaker 3: part of me that my inner voice that says, Mike,
- 5:50Speaker 3: you've worked six You've worked for fifty years of your life.
- 5:53Speaker 3: You have busted your bront you have. You get to
- 5:57Speaker 3: enjoy some of the fruits of your labor. Now. The
- 6:00Speaker 3: two bedroom, the normal apartment that I'm scheduled to get
- 6:04Speaker 3: in ain't exactly a double wide. I mean, it's nothing
- 6:08Speaker 3: wrong with box No, I mean, it's nothing wrong with
- 6:11Speaker 3: double wides. But it's a nice two bedroom apartment. But
- 6:14Speaker 3: it's not the big penhouse and the three bedrooms and
- 6:17Speaker 3: the and the laundry room, I mean a laundry room.
- 6:20Speaker 3: The place I'm moving into, the washing drivers right there
- 6:23Speaker 3: by the front door. I mean, it's like a dorm room.
- 6:26Speaker 3: I feel like I'm gonna I'm going to a frat house.
- 6:29Speaker 3: And so there's I told I said to Joey, and
- 6:31Speaker 3: Joey said last night, this is the dumbest idea you've got.
- 6:34Speaker 3: Don't do this. You're gonna you're gonna be house poor,
- 6:37Speaker 3: basically because you're trying to save for eventual retirement. And
- 6:41Speaker 3: I said, but Joey, is there a part is that
- 6:43Speaker 3: anybody can understand Doug Gonnet. At this stage of my life,
- 6:48Speaker 3: I want these creature comforts. I want to sit back
- 6:51Speaker 3: and kind of enjoy the fruits of my decades of labor.
- 6:55Speaker 3: You know what I mean is that a dumb thing
- 6:57Speaker 3: to ask, Mark.
- 6:58Speaker 2: Is not And I have a measure that might work
- 7:00Speaker 2: for you and for anybody else listening as any kind
- 7:04Speaker 2: of decision. I sometimes do this, and it's sometimes helpful.
- 7:07Speaker 2: It's called think about possible regret and avoid it six
- 7:13Speaker 2: months from now, which is likely? How's the pendulum lay,
- 7:17Speaker 2: or that the scales likely to go? Would you regret
- 7:20Speaker 2: not taking the penthouse? Being in me thoroughly appreciable one
- 7:23Speaker 2: you're thinking of old be sent there going dang, I
- 7:25Speaker 2: wish I had taken the penthouse? Or is it more
- 7:28Speaker 2: likely that you take the penthouse and go damn? What
- 7:30Speaker 2: was I thinking? That's why I save the money ever
- 7:33Speaker 2: of those than the ladder.
- 7:35Speaker 3: The ladder not the former. I guarantee you I will
- 7:38Speaker 3: regret it. It will be stupid. What I'm doing now
- 7:41Speaker 3: is smart financially, and I'm going to be perfectly, perfectly comfortable.
- 7:44Speaker 3: And by the way, what I've been reading about the
- 7:47Speaker 3: comments about this particular high rise, and one of the
- 7:49Speaker 3: complaints is the elevator system. That they've only got like
- 7:53Speaker 3: three elevators for a big tall building. And then when
- 7:56Speaker 3: there's a moved one of the elevators gets white, you know,
- 7:58Speaker 3: taken out, so there's only two working elevators. If you're
- 8:01Speaker 3: on the top floor, it's gonna take forever to get
- 8:04Speaker 3: from the top floor down to the lobby. If you're
- 8:06Speaker 3: kind of oh, I'm already gonna be annoyed by this,
- 8:10Speaker 3: I can tell it. But if you're in the middle
- 8:12Speaker 3: of the building, I'm only like halfway up, it won't
- 8:15Speaker 3: take so long to go up and down. So there's
- 8:17Speaker 3: that I mean. But no soaking tub. I gotta get
- 8:20Speaker 3: rid of half my furniture. I got a beautiful dining set.
- 8:23Speaker 3: I gotta sell off. I've got a touch, I gotta this.
- 8:27Speaker 3: I gotta all right, enough of my woes. I'm not
- 8:30Speaker 3: gonna do it. But I'm not gonna do it. I'm
- 8:32Speaker 3: not gonna do it. I'm gonna I'm gonna I'm gonna
- 8:34Speaker 3: stay in the I'm gonna be responsible, I'm gonna be
- 8:37Speaker 3: a big boy here, and I'm gonna be all right.
- 8:39Speaker 3: Let's start. First of all, I've been getting word from
- 8:42Speaker 3: Texas that your interview with a congressman I believe it was,
- 8:46Speaker 3: or it was a state senator, see a state Senator Parker.
- 8:50Speaker 3: Your interview Friday filtered all the way up to the
- 8:52Speaker 3: Governor's office, Greg Abbott, and he put the he put
- 8:56Speaker 3: the brakes to install in these Muslim foot wash stations
- 9:01Speaker 3: in the bathrooms.
- 9:03Speaker 2: I give all credit to Senator Parker who was on
- 9:05Speaker 2: the show, but which was maybe the most visible thing
- 9:07Speaker 2: he did, and we certainly partnered with that. But then
- 9:09Speaker 2: he spent the rest of the day trying to get
- 9:11Speaker 2: the answer to those questions on those weird Muslim foot
- 9:14Speaker 2: washing stations. They envisioned changing the one men's room, one's
- 9:19Speaker 2: one women's room at DFW's terminal date, and by nightfall
- 9:23Speaker 2: the idea was gone. Greg Abbott said, I don't think
- 9:25Speaker 2: so that looks like a religious preference which is on
- 9:28Speaker 2: constitutional looks like an illegal accommodation of one faith over another.
- 9:33Speaker 2: And we may have to look at the degree to
- 9:35Speaker 2: which DFW receives state grant money. Ding Ding ding Ding
- 9:38Speaker 2: learned their language then, and that idea went away in
- 9:41Speaker 2: a Texas minute, not even a New York minute.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Didn't take long.
- 9:45Speaker 2: It did not take long. And so Mike, is this
- 9:48Speaker 2: It is the summer of Islam topically speaking, because you've
- 9:52Speaker 2: got that, you have And by the way, there are
- 9:56Speaker 2: still foot washing stations at the interfaith chap area. I
- 10:01Speaker 2: think I'm gonna let that go. I mean, just I
- 10:04Speaker 2: mean while still remaining sharp eyed about the takeover and
- 10:07Speaker 2: the surrender and all those things, because I do, I
- 10:10Speaker 2: totally totally get it. But if you can have and
- 10:13Speaker 2: they and actually the chapels at the FW went all
- 10:15Speaker 2: in to get make sure people had ashes for ash Wednesday,
- 10:18Speaker 2: so it's like they got something for us, you know.
- 10:21Speaker 2: So I don't know. If somebody wants me to get
- 10:23Speaker 2: all worked up about the interfaith chapels, I guess we'll
- 10:26Speaker 2: weigh that as well.
- 10:27Speaker 3: But well, but there's a theme here. I'm so glad
- 10:31Speaker 3: you're bringing this up. Because Mark, I have been somebody
- 10:34Speaker 3: who for years recognized that I'm the product of immigrants. Okay,
- 10:39Speaker 3: my grandparents, not my great grand grandparents. My grandparents came
- 10:44Speaker 3: over on the boat from Ireland and Lithuania. Okay, so
- 10:48Speaker 3: that and they were and I heard the stories as
- 10:51Speaker 3: a little boy about them sailing past the Statue of
- 10:55Speaker 3: Liberty and being processed through Ellis Island. So I am
- 10:58Speaker 3: a product of immigrants. And I have always said, okay,
- 11:02Speaker 3: we are a melting pot, we at. I'm all for
- 11:06Speaker 3: immigration as long as it's done legally. That's the standard line. Right,
- 11:11Speaker 3: I'm starting to rethink even that, Mark, it feels to
- 11:15Speaker 3: me like we are being taken over. And let me
- 11:18Speaker 3: give you an example. Let me take you to Lawrence, Massachusetts.
- 11:21Speaker 3: There's a mayor there named Brian Leapena. Brian Lapena, depen
- 11:28Speaker 3: youa rather, is the mayor of Lawrence, Massachusetts. He's from
- 11:31Speaker 3: the Dominican Republic. He has been arrested in charged with
- 11:36Speaker 3: stealing over a million dollars of COVID relief money. Okay,
- 11:40Speaker 3: So the other day they bring him through a media scrum.
- 11:44Speaker 3: He's surrounded by aids and his associates or whatever, and
- 11:49Speaker 3: the guy to his right is like got his arm
- 11:51Speaker 3: around him and they're trying to get him through this
- 11:53Speaker 3: crowd of reporters. Mark, I got to play this for you.
- 11:56Speaker 2: Please.
- 11:56Speaker 3: You've got to hear what the aid says. The assistant
- 11:59Speaker 3: says to the reporters, it's a little hard to make
- 12:02Speaker 3: out the the mayor is. It comes out smiling and saying, hey, guys,
- 12:07Speaker 3: Hey guys, God, bless God, bless, God, bless, God bless.
- 12:11Speaker 3: At one point, one of the reporters says, why are
- 12:13Speaker 3: you blessing us? What the hell are you doing? Right? Well,
- 12:16Speaker 3: but there's a reason he speaks in very limited English phrases. Well,
- 12:22Speaker 3: that's a reason the man doesn't speak English. Check this out, God,
- 12:31Speaker 3: Hey God.
- 12:35Speaker 4: I don't want to just God, blessing, bless.
- 12:40Speaker 5: We're not, do you think, Lauren? Thank you for you?
- 12:51Speaker 3: What are you blessing? Hey guy, God, bless God?
- 13:00Speaker 2: That the age says, God bless are the four words
- 13:02Speaker 2: in English that he apparently knows.
- 13:04Speaker 3: Because the aid, if you could hear it carefully, if
- 13:07Speaker 3: you were listening with sharp ears, he doesn't speak English.
- 13:11Speaker 3: No comment. Let that sink in an American mayor, it
- 13:16Speaker 3: doesn't speak English and Lawrence, Massachusetts. I don't think it's
- 13:19Speaker 3: near McCallan, Texas. Last time I checked. It's near the
- 13:23Speaker 3: New hamps Well border of New Hampshire, which is probably
- 13:28Speaker 3: the whitest state in America. Hey guy, Hey guy, no emblece,
- 13:33Speaker 3: no English knowing Glace doesn't speak English.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Now, so this is these are not your grandparents immigrants.
- 13:41Speaker 2: These are not the immigrants of the nineteen twenties. And
- 13:44Speaker 2: it's funny because as we go full sail towards people
- 13:47Speaker 2: who not only are not going to assimilate, but might
- 13:49Speaker 2: wish us ill. This seems like a pleasant enough man,
- 13:52Speaker 2: but clearly just lack of willingness and lack of desire
- 13:55Speaker 2: to speak the English language.
- 13:57Speaker 3: Come on, the mayor of Lawrence. Message, First of all,
- 14:01Speaker 3: how do you get elected? How do you campaign?
- 14:04Speaker 2: Did he have debates?
- 14:06Speaker 3: Well with himself?
- 14:07Speaker 1: Hi?
- 14:07Speaker 3: Guys, Hi guys, God bless God, bless God bless Now
- 14:10Speaker 3: let me bring all right, forget the Mayor of Lawrence.
- 14:13Speaker 3: Let's talk about the mayor. Let me take you to
- 14:15Speaker 3: the Mayor of New York City. I call him Zoe
- 14:17Speaker 3: Run the Destroyer. Here is here's Zoe Run Mamdani. He
- 14:21Speaker 3: had an announcement to make on the official Mayor's channel Mark.
- 14:25Speaker 3: The announcement was that he's inviting Chinese kids to participate
- 14:31Speaker 3: in a theater program where you get involved in theater
- 14:35Speaker 3: if you're a kid like living in Chinatown in New
- 14:37Speaker 3: York City or your Asian heritage. Well, the Mayor of
- 14:41Speaker 3: New York had a rather unique novel way to make
- 14:44Speaker 3: the announcement.
- 14:45Speaker 4: Here it is nea how well the main so Mayor
- 14:48Speaker 4: Zora Mamdani, John Wynn Kusher WHA sure, yeah, no, you
- 14:54Speaker 4: are sure? Jumfu jiang song true jan bilahi menching you
- 15:02Speaker 4: by your cheer, your chin fun when wang yao ji
- 15:09Speaker 4: tenja to chen niinhaik who the theater development fund? Wait, young.
- 15:20Speaker 3: Sy that was English, not development fund, And you can't
- 15:27Speaker 3: say that apparently in Mandarin?
- 15:29Speaker 2: He is he promoting Broadway? Is there?
- 15:31Speaker 3: If there is?
- 15:32Speaker 2: It's kind of like, well, I'll tell you what. It's
- 15:33Speaker 2: kind of like the Ken Paxton ads in Spanish might
- 15:38Speaker 2: be good. There there are people who are voting who
- 15:40Speaker 2: might have English as a simple language.
- 15:42Speaker 3: Might be all right?
- 15:43Speaker 2: I mean, is there is there is there an excuse
- 15:45Speaker 2: we can make for that?
- 15:46Speaker 3: Fair enough? It isn't it fair enough? It isn't it
- 15:49Speaker 3: kind of creepy that a guy who is routinely accused
- 15:52Speaker 3: of being a Marxist, a guy who is routinely accused
- 15:57Speaker 3: of being a Communist, apparently speaks Mandarin quite fluently. Now, Mark, Yeah,
- 16:03Speaker 3: he's he's from Uganda. I mean, so you got a
- 16:07Speaker 3: guy from Uganda who takes to the airway and goes
- 16:12Speaker 3: into the Mandarin language like all panetic.
- 16:16Speaker 2: You know, pain it was no, he knew it, he
- 16:20Speaker 2: knew what he was doing.
- 16:21Speaker 3: Good Lord, So this is what I'm starting to say,
- 16:23Speaker 3: And and I want to get into this with you
- 16:25Speaker 3: because and let's let's quickly say a big give a
- 16:28Speaker 3: big shout out to the good people who helped make
- 16:30Speaker 3: this podcast possible, because we're so grateful to Relief Factor. Yeah,
- 16:34Speaker 3: I'm thrilled that all of a sudden you're out there
- 16:36Speaker 3: throwing the ball with those puppies of yours. You're loving it,
- 16:40Speaker 3: Relief Factor. Look, when it comes to supplements, two things
- 16:43Speaker 3: matter most that it works and that you can trust it.
- 16:45Speaker 3: And I've trusted Relief Factor with my pain relief for years.
- 16:48Speaker 3: And we invited Mark to join me on the journey,
- 16:51Speaker 3: and you were out let me, let me pull the
- 16:53Speaker 3: curtain bag. You were a little skeptical, You're not. You're
- 16:56Speaker 3: not so skeptical anymore.
- 16:57Speaker 2: Nope. I thought, Okay, this sounds great. People have success stories.
- 17:00Speaker 2: Will it work for me? And the short answer was
- 17:02Speaker 2: two weeks in yep, not just in giving me some
- 17:05Speaker 2: shoulder relief and throwing the tennis ball out back with
- 17:07Speaker 2: the pups, but also that that early morning stiffness you
- 17:11Speaker 2: can get the goat give things kind kind of hurt
- 17:13Speaker 2: for about a minute or two before you kind of
- 17:15Speaker 2: find your your daytime legs. That's gone too. I get
- 17:19Speaker 2: up and I'm raring to go thanks to relief Factor
- 17:21Speaker 2: one eight hundred four relief relief Factor dot com and
- 17:24Speaker 2: join Mike and me on the on the relief train.
- 17:26Speaker 3: The three week Quick Start seventeen seventy six and Honor
- 17:29Speaker 3: America is two hundred and fiftieth and I'm pain free
- 17:32Speaker 3: thanks to relief Factor. You can be too. Let's get

- 19:16Speaker 3: word diversity in America. You go into New York City
- 19:19Speaker 3: as I was in this past weekend and had a
- 19:22Speaker 3: great quick trip. I went there for a to film
- 19:24Speaker 3: a document a little bit of a documentary for Charlie
- 19:26Speaker 3: Kirk that's going to be presented in a few weeks.
- 19:29Speaker 3: And while I was there, had to take in my
- 19:30Speaker 3: normal routine of shows. And I don't mind walking down
- 19:34Speaker 3: Eighth Avenue listening to different dialects, accents, it's it's a subway.
- 19:39Speaker 2: I love it, communities, Washington Square Park, It's part of
- 19:43Speaker 2: the beauty of it.
- 19:43Speaker 3: You want you want Chinese food, go get shin. I
- 19:46Speaker 3: want itally you and you want Portuguese, you want German
- 19:50Speaker 3: every block it has always been. But when you see
- 19:53Speaker 3: these stories of the mayor of Lawrence, Massachusetts doesn't speak
- 19:57Speaker 3: at a word of English. The some well, some people
- 20:00Speaker 3: say the Islamic takeover in our airports. It's not just Dallas,
- 20:04Speaker 3: it's Houston. There's two Texas airports now under review by
- 20:08Speaker 3: Governor Abbott and his team. Should is it time to
- 20:12Speaker 3: rethink that belief that we should welcome immigrants even if
- 20:16Speaker 3: they're coming in legally.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Immigrants have certainly rethought the way they approach America because
- 20:21Speaker 2: it used to be back when you talk about the
- 20:23Speaker 2: Irish and Lithuanian roots that are yours, or you know,
- 20:26Speaker 2: the people who came here whenever they came, you know,
- 20:28Speaker 2: through Elis Island. One of the first things they all
- 20:31Speaker 2: did is they said, listen, we are proud of where
- 20:32Speaker 2: we're from, but we're going to be Americans now, and
- 20:35Speaker 2: we embrace this culture. We're going to embrace this constitution
- 20:38Speaker 2: and it's not just it's simply not happening as much.
- 20:41Speaker 2: And this morning, Mike and I'm going to say, I'm
- 20:43Speaker 2: going to give Hi sixty seconds on something that we
- 20:45Speaker 2: could do in detail moving forward, because I just want
- 20:47Speaker 2: to sure overall ask you, have we gotten to the
- 20:49Speaker 2: point with our concern about islami sization where we're not
- 20:52Speaker 2: just worried about the establishment of Sharia courts or the
- 20:55Speaker 2: establishment of no go zones, but we're prepared to draw
- 20:57Speaker 2: a line in the sand unintended right right now by
- 21:02Speaker 2: saying pretty well, we're done with mosques. I had Congressman
- 21:05Speaker 2: Keith self on this morning, Third District of Texas. He's
- 21:07Speaker 2: getting up in some McKinney local politics. They have a
- 21:09Speaker 2: recall petition. Remember the city council that rubber stamped a
- 21:13Speaker 2: mosque seven nothing, You remember we talked about that. They
- 21:16Speaker 2: would tell you we had to It was just about
- 21:19Speaker 2: the permit. Did they dot the i's crossed the t's.
- 21:21Speaker 2: Was it legal? And it was so we had to
- 21:24Speaker 2: say yes to it. Congressman's self says, oh, no, you didn't,
- 21:27Speaker 2: because we have legal constitutional concerns about the spread of Islam.
- 21:31Speaker 2: It's absolutely based on law, not just on faith, so
- 21:34Speaker 2: there's no freedom of religion issue. And former Mayor George
- 21:37Speaker 2: Fuller was at that meeting, and he's sort of taken
- 21:40Speaker 2: the other side, and the Constitution says, we got a
- 21:43Speaker 2: lot of mad the mosques, and the people who are
- 21:44Speaker 2: against it, and the people who are doing the recall
- 21:46Speaker 2: petition are kind of underinformed. We had him on too,
- 21:49Speaker 2: always glad to have both sides. But I asked congressman's self,
- 21:53Speaker 2: can you imagine them in view of the concerns that
- 21:55Speaker 2: you have, the concerns you and I talk about every day.
- 21:58Speaker 2: In view those concerns, can you imagine an application for
- 22:02Speaker 2: a new mosque that you'd be okay with? He said,
- 22:05Speaker 2: Now we're there, it's a mosque ban on the table.
- 22:11Speaker 2: Can we do that? Can we do it legally? Constitutionally?
- 22:14Speaker 2: I think it involves a separating of the religious from
- 22:17Speaker 2: the legal Islam is a political movement as well as
- 22:19Speaker 2: a religion, so will go it's not a religion, Yes
- 22:22Speaker 2: it is, but it has a political undercurrent or side current,
- 22:26Speaker 2: that is all the things that are just not compatible
- 22:28Speaker 2: with constitutional governance. We're in the era of the mosque ban.
- 22:32Speaker 2: Look for the rest of this here to contain some
- 22:34Speaker 2: stories where it's just pretty clear some folks are saying
- 22:36Speaker 2: flat out no to future mosques, and that makes me
- 22:39Speaker 2: wonder what we think about the ones that are already here.
- 22:41Speaker 2: So get the rodeo is on well, and it.
- 22:44Speaker 3: Breaks my heart because I continually have to remind everybody
- 22:49Speaker 3: that not every Muslim, not everybody who practices Islam, is
- 22:55Speaker 3: of this ilk that wants to do America harm, that
- 22:58Speaker 3: wants to impose their beliefs upon everybody else, that wants
- 23:02Speaker 3: Sharia law. For example, there was a little restaurant in
- 23:06Speaker 3: South Lake, Texas. I don't want to mention their name
- 23:08Speaker 3: because I don't want to put them on the spot
- 23:10Speaker 3: or I don't want to embarrass them or anything. But
- 23:12Speaker 3: there's a restaurant that Denise and the kids and I
- 23:15Speaker 3: just treasure I go every time I'm in Dallas Fort
- 23:17Speaker 3: Worth and it's owned by a family that happens to
- 23:21Speaker 3: be Muslim, and they are wonderful people and they love
- 23:25Speaker 3: this country and they're patriots that they're actually Trump supporters,
- 23:31Speaker 3: I mean, and they happen to be Muslim, and for
- 23:35Speaker 3: me to be publicly advocating for a ban on their
- 23:40Speaker 3: house of worship because because we're worried about some of
- 23:45Speaker 3: these other the Islamification of America. Mark, It actually makes
- 23:49Speaker 3: me sick to my stomach. It shouldn't be this way.
- 23:52Speaker 3: This is America, Mark, it's America. Where do you want
- 23:55Speaker 3: where do you want them to go worship?
- 23:56Speaker 2: If we you know, here's here's the problem they face, because,
- 24:00Speaker 2: boy do I feel you and I would feel the
- 24:02Speaker 2: same about these lovely people who were I to know them.
- 24:05Speaker 2: Here's why they can't buy a break. As soon as
- 24:08Speaker 2: you get an imaginary hypothetical mosque that sets up and says, hey,
- 24:11Speaker 2: we're the good ones. We hated nine to eleven as
- 24:13Speaker 2: much as you did, and we're not going to do
- 24:15Speaker 2: honor killings in the parking lot, and we're not gonna
- 24:17Speaker 2: have Sharia courts, so we're not gonna have no go zones.
- 24:19Speaker 2: So we just believe differently than you. Also, let it go.
- 24:22Speaker 3: You know what?
- 24:22Speaker 2: They then get ah takiya. It's the precept where they
- 24:26Speaker 2: can where the Muslims can lie to you to forward
- 24:29Speaker 2: their agenda. So even they can't, they can't win. They
- 24:33Speaker 2: just can't.
- 24:34Speaker 3: I think about when you say those things. I think
- 24:38Speaker 3: about a line from George W. Bush that I as
- 24:41Speaker 3: much as I've disagreed with him over the years, and
- 24:43Speaker 3: particularly the way the Bush family has turned against MAGA
- 24:46Speaker 3: and the Trump movement and everything, he said something years
- 24:49Speaker 3: ago that to me made a whole lot of sense.
- 24:51Speaker 3: And he was the nine to eleven president. He was
- 24:54Speaker 3: there on the rubble, on the pile, he was there
- 24:57Speaker 3: with the bullhorn. We remember how he got us through
- 25:00Speaker 3: those dark days. And he was wonderful. You know what
- 25:03Speaker 3: he said, and he said it to us. I think
- 25:05Speaker 3: in the Oval office, you really want to declare war
- 25:08Speaker 3: against the entire Muslim world? Do you really? Do you
- 25:11Speaker 3: have any Muslims there are around the world you want
- 25:14Speaker 3: to you want to declare war against all of Islam.
- 25:18Speaker 3: Good luck with that, because it may not turn out
- 25:20Speaker 3: so well.
- 25:21Speaker 2: Good luck with that globally. And I understand that. But
- 25:23Speaker 2: as far as drawing a line about the spread of
- 25:28Speaker 2: Islam in America, every viewpoint that I just described about
- 25:32Speaker 2: what what the faith does preach that it's just completely
- 25:37Speaker 2: empathetical to to constitutional governance and the Western values, to
- 25:41Speaker 2: the notion of Takia lying to advance the faith. They're
- 25:44Speaker 2: not wrong, they're not factually mistaken, and no, no, they're
- 25:50Speaker 2: not in fact, somebody just an untenable place. I mean,
- 25:53Speaker 2: and somebody pointed out on the live chat room. While
- 25:56Speaker 2: those front Muslim friends of yours, Mike, if they're really
- 25:59Speaker 2: good muss and they're not really following the Book of
- 26:02Speaker 2: Koran adequately, they're Look, that's for them to decide.
- 26:05Speaker 3: I'm not. I don't know how much I'm not. I'm
- 26:07Speaker 3: not certainly you know, technically literate about the Koran. Uh
- 26:15Speaker 3: you know, and but I know about Takiya and I
- 26:17Speaker 3: know about deceiving the infidels and everything else. But they're
- 26:20Speaker 3: dog gonnet. There are there are a lot of good
- 26:23Speaker 3: Muslim people in this country who we are impacting by
- 26:27Speaker 3: talking about a mosque band. You're going to have a
- 26:30Speaker 3: synagogue band. You want to have a Christian.
- 26:32Speaker 2: Church band, don't. Don't. Even mythic equivalency is not going to.
- 26:38Speaker 3: Save you, but it does serve you well because you're talking.
- 26:41Speaker 2: About synagogues trying to you know something of these.
- 26:45Speaker 3: But there aren't. But there are lots of mosques that
- 26:48Speaker 3: have no intention of harming anybody.
- 26:50Speaker 2: But yes, they are one. In fact, I would I
- 26:53Speaker 2: would dare to suggest the majority. I would certainly say
- 26:58Speaker 2: a majority. I would say when you already that's fine,
- 27:00Speaker 2: But I mean I don't know if it's fifty one,
- 27:02Speaker 2: forty nine or ninety ten. But then from every we
- 27:05Speaker 2: were taking calls or we did this, it would be yeah,
- 27:08Speaker 2: which which ones are the good ones? How do you
- 27:10Speaker 2: magically know?
- 27:11Speaker 3: I know? Luck? Yeah, so I know, I know. I
- 27:14Speaker 3: get it. It's there. It's a it's a tough it's
- 27:17Speaker 3: a tough issue. It really is. It's a difficult issue.
- 27:19Speaker 3: You mentioned the video stuff. I'm excited about this. I
- 27:23Speaker 3: love Land, man, that's one of my favorite shows, the
- 27:26Speaker 3: good old Billy Bob. Tell me about tell me about
- 27:29Speaker 3: the video you came across that you wanted to share
- 27:30Speaker 3: with us here on there and is.
- 27:31Speaker 2: Get this ready? And when I say ready, the whole
- 27:34Speaker 2: thing runs about a minute forty and about forty five
- 27:38Speaker 2: or fifty seconds in I'm gonna call for it to
- 27:39Speaker 2: stop because again and there's a language alert language alert no,
- 27:43Speaker 2: but that's we.
- 27:44Speaker 3: Can run out. We can buy language on the podcast.
- 27:47Speaker 2: Really really, Oh yes, safe?
- 27:50Speaker 3: Lift it? Why did you bleep it? We don't have
- 27:52Speaker 3: to bleep on now. We have to beat this. I
- 27:55Speaker 3: don't do we bleep on podcasts.
- 27:59Speaker 2: I'd rather well we don't.
- 28:00Speaker 3: We don't have to.
- 28:02Speaker 2: I'd rather not bleep it and stop it. About forty
- 28:04Speaker 2: five seconds in when I say, is that okay?
- 28:08Speaker 3: Well yeah, sure, oh yeah, Yasmin's ready to stop when
- 28:10Speaker 3: you when you start talking. She's great of that, but
- 28:12Speaker 3: I am fundamentally interested. Now she did say that she
- 28:15Speaker 3: got a bleep version evidently, so whatever she.
- 28:18Speaker 2: Got, so she'd rather rather treat people like grown ups.
- 28:21Speaker 2: We had this conversation. So here it comes. But if
- 28:23Speaker 2: it gets it becomes.
- 28:26Speaker 3: A minute what does that mean? Treat people like grown ups?
- 28:28Speaker 3: Played with the bleed without by not believing, not bleeving.
- 28:30Speaker 2: Okay, but it gets really gratuitous at a point where
- 28:33Speaker 2: I am going to draw a little line and say,
- 28:35Speaker 2: you say, you get the point. So the point the
- 28:38Speaker 2: point here is it's an anti Tallerico ad as AI
- 28:43Speaker 2: will do. The visuals are in some ways a little
- 28:46Speaker 2: clumsy and yet stunning, and the writing is a little clumsy.
- 28:49Speaker 2: But my overall point is, as you see this, and
- 28:51Speaker 2: we'll describe it for people not doing the video, you
- 28:55Speaker 2: can have anybody saying anything, just any human being saying
- 28:58Speaker 2: anything in this world of AI. So people say and
- 29:01Speaker 2: this comes against the backdrop of people say in Paxton's
- 29:04Speaker 2: not a good fundraiser, that he's lazy. He ain't lazy
- 29:06Speaker 2: as attorney general kids. As far as fundraising, tallerco is
- 29:09Speaker 2: absolutely going to have more money because he's getting funded
- 29:12Speaker 2: by bi coastal elites. But here's a little AI political messaging,
- 29:16Speaker 2: and we'll run it for a little under a minute.
- 29:18Speaker 2: I'll call a stop to it, and then we'll discuss afterward.
- 29:21Speaker 2: Enjoy got it?
- 29:23Speaker 3: Do you think for one second that I have any
- 29:25Speaker 3: doubt who Texas should be supporting.
- 29:26Speaker 2: You're out of your mind. Not the tala Freak show.
- 29:34Speaker 3: Where we headed for a drive. Let's go stand you'll dump.
- 29:42Speaker 5: Yeah, nobody in America with two brain cells can either.
- 29:48Speaker 2: Now, this is exactly what a Talafreak show Texas would
- 29:51Speaker 2: look like.
- 29:52Speaker 1: How you like them?
- 29:53Speaker 2: Apples?
- 29:55Speaker 5: Tylers that shut it down? Windmills are taken over? Hey man,
- 29:58Speaker 5: y'all got me?
- 29:59Speaker 4: F amen? Man, I got these Talarrico vegan cheeseburgers.
- 30:03Speaker 3: Man, Man, what.
- 30:12Speaker 4: God means Jimmy doing over?
- 30:14Speaker 3: When might make our stake for But we can all
- 30:17Speaker 3: be rich in the soul with our non binary Jesus.
- 30:20Speaker 2: See, this is the kind of retarded First of all,
- 30:22Speaker 2: it's funny. We get a little bit of bleeping. The
- 30:24Speaker 2: actual original one was also bleep, with a guy talking
- 30:27Speaker 2: about the vegan burgers of let's not bog down over that.
- 30:30Speaker 2: So uh, it's sort of pretty well looks like Billy Bob.
- 30:35Speaker 2: Doesn't much look like that? You sound like Billy Bob
- 30:37Speaker 2: now it one hundred percent is the wonderful young actress
- 30:42Speaker 2: Kayla Wallace who plays his attorney Rebecca. Yeah, it really
- 30:47Speaker 2: looks like Tallarico too. Oh good lord, I mean, do
- 30:51Speaker 2: we need some kind is this okay to do this?
- 30:54Speaker 2: Do we need some kind of qualifiers, some kind of
- 30:56Speaker 2: disclaimer that says this is a I related The thoroughly
- 31:01Speaker 2: ravaged former House Speaker Dade Feeling in Texas had a
- 31:06Speaker 2: proposed law that would say, I mean he was victimized
- 31:10Speaker 2: by this in a way. They showed a big picture
- 31:12Speaker 2: of him hugging Nancy Pelosi. He never hugged Nancy Pelosi.
- 31:15Speaker 2: You kind of got the point of the of the mailer.
- 31:17Speaker 2: But what about AI and political advertising? What are the
- 31:20Speaker 2: proper ethics of this, Mike when you can portray and
- 31:23Speaker 2: I believe you me, I have no trouble with I
- 31:24Speaker 2: thought this was funny as hell.
- 31:26Speaker 3: But yeah, but we have a strange are the we have. Well,
- 31:30Speaker 3: the big issue is is transparency and disclaiming whether something
- 31:34Speaker 3: is real or fake and how do you do that,
- 31:36Speaker 3: how do you get involved in this? And there's something
- 31:38Speaker 3: that they call watermarks, digital water marks that can be
- 31:42Speaker 3: applied to these AI videos that are are able to
- 31:46Speaker 3: let the viewer know that this is not an actual thing,
- 31:50Speaker 3: this is not a real video. Because you're so right, Mark,
- 31:54Speaker 3: there are political ads that can be created that are
- 31:57Speaker 3: completely concocted, that are total, yeah, really fabricated. There are
- 32:02Speaker 3: and you've got people talking in some cases that's very believable,
- 32:06Speaker 3: and they look and sound like it's the real person.
- 32:09Speaker 2: You know that it's sat hire. But I think about
- 32:12Speaker 2: and this is funny, and you think about the actors
- 32:14Speaker 2: and actresses with words in their mouths. Is if I
- 32:19Speaker 2: were an actor or an actress and let's say somebody
- 32:21Speaker 2: were to use something that was totally contrary to my views, right,
- 32:25Speaker 2: I would not be thrilled.
- 32:27Speaker 3: So now you'd be very upset about it. And that's
- 32:29Speaker 3: why this is what we talk about with the guardrails
- 32:32Speaker 3: of AI. This is what we're talking about with some
- 32:35Speaker 3: kind of of a regulation for lack of a better word. Now,
- 32:39Speaker 3: the Trump administration seems to be completely opposed to that
- 32:44Speaker 3: kind of regulation. They're like sort of the wild West
- 32:47Speaker 3: days of the Internet, when they remember when the Internet
- 32:49Speaker 3: first exploded. Hey, doesn't matter where it is, you put
- 32:52Speaker 3: it in libraries, who cares, it's anything goes you know you,
- 32:56Speaker 3: you you got to regulate yourself. And then people got
- 32:59Speaker 3: worried about kids. And now there's a debate about banning
- 33:02Speaker 3: social media for kids under thirteen, which I'm sure many
- 33:05Speaker 3: in this audience would think was a good idea. But
- 33:08Speaker 3: doesn't it make sense to be able to have some
- 33:11Speaker 3: way to disclose that a video that appears to be
- 33:15Speaker 3: real is fake.
- 33:17Speaker 2: Look, I think that's the perfect solution because you're not
- 33:19Speaker 2: telling anybody they can't make it. We're just telling everybody
- 33:22Speaker 2: how it got done.
- 33:24Speaker 3: Yeah, but that is going to immediately create lead to
- 33:27Speaker 3: screams and howls of protest from people saying, you know what,
- 33:33Speaker 3: that's that's restrictive, that censorship, that's it's not it's not censorship.
- 33:38Speaker 3: You still get to see it. Why not at least
- 33:41Speaker 3: have a disclaimer again, a watermark, some kind of a
- 33:44Speaker 3: little logo or something like that. There's a little bug
- 33:46Speaker 3: maybe you know they have little bugs on TV. Little

- 33:54Speaker 3: I mean there's there. You see those community notes for
- 33:57Speaker 3: AI generated content on X all the time. So why
- 34:01Speaker 3: not with videos across the board. I think we should.
- 34:04Speaker 3: I have absolutely too. And let me tell you who
- 34:06Speaker 3: generate some of our content. The good people doing sponsorship
- 34:09Speaker 3: partnerships with us, especially the folks at Preborn. Where this
- 34:11Speaker 3: summer three years since the Dobbs decision overturning Roe v. Wade,
- 34:15Speaker 3: and since then, hey, abortions have gone up. What how
- 34:18Speaker 3: did that happen? Well, every state is doing what they want.
- 34:20Speaker 3: That's what the constitution says. Roe v.
- 34:22Speaker 2: Wade was properly overturned. But within these still available realms
- 34:26Speaker 2: of choice, a lot of women are saying, well, I'm pregnant,
- 34:29Speaker 2: I'm scared, got to get an abortion. Wait a minute,
- 34:31Speaker 2: Preborn says, can we show you an ultrasound? Preborn gives
- 34:34Speaker 2: free ultrasounds to girls and women. And when a young
- 34:37Speaker 2: woman sees her baby, here's the baby's heart meat, it

- 34:49Speaker 2: a month, helps save baby a baby a month for
- 34:52Speaker 2: less than a dollar a day. And we of course
- 34:54Speaker 2: have a special offer for people who to be extra
- 34:56Speaker 2: extra giving.
- 34:57Speaker 3: I'm waiting for the first M and M Extra podcast

- 35:19Speaker 3: well guess what. We will happily lift you up and
- 35:23Speaker 3: thank you for providing in the actual machine that will

- 36:00Speaker 2: be enormously grateful, as grateful as you are being literally slimmer.
- 36:03Speaker 2: Because of those folks at PhD Weight Loss.
- 36:06Speaker 3: We're gonna, we're gonna, we're gonna run out of transitions.
- 36:09Speaker 3: I mean, here's the master right here, Mark Davis, that's right.
- 36:12Speaker 2: I say, who you know where I learned Marlon Perkins
- 36:15Speaker 2: at Mutual of Omaha. Jim, those caribou would have to
- 36:18Speaker 2: be pretty stupid to run into the trap we set
- 36:20Speaker 2: for them. You'd have to be stupid not to get
- 36:23Speaker 2: Mutual of Omah. I was like saying, I learned it
- 36:25Speaker 2: when I was ten years old. I know crap.
- 36:28Speaker 3: Anyway, Well, my and my mentor on this was Paul Harvey,
- 36:31Speaker 3: who would be reading one minute, he's reading a story
- 36:34Speaker 3: about Washington, d C. Before you know it, he's selling
- 36:37Speaker 3: you a buick. And it was like he would he
- 36:39Speaker 3: would and you never one, and I'd buy two three? Uh,
- 36:44Speaker 3: And I want you to reach out to PhD Weight Oscar.
- 36:46Speaker 3: There is a moment when it stops to work. You know,
- 36:49Speaker 3: get to a certain age, you know, it's it's tough
- 36:52Speaker 3: to take the old, the gut away. That's why quick
- 36:55Speaker 3: fixes fail, even these popular GLP one shots. Suppress appetite
- 36:59Speaker 3: and then fix what cause the problem. Well that's what
- 37:02Speaker 3: doctor Ashley Lucas at her brilliant PhD weight Loss goes
- 37:05Speaker 3: to the heart of restoring your metabolism so your body
- 37:08Speaker 3: stops fighting you. That's when real change occurs. I lost

- 37:46Speaker 3: thank you for putting the South Carolina race in the
- 37:49Speaker 3: perfect perspective for me. You said something casually this morning
- 37:54Speaker 3: when I was did the hit with you, and I
- 37:55Speaker 3: can't get it out of my mind. Right now, we're
- 37:58Speaker 3: witnessing the role out of a nice lady whose brother
- 38:02Speaker 3: died versus a solid conservative Republican congressman with a substantive
- 38:09Speaker 3: record of conservatism. One of them is going to be
- 38:13Speaker 3: our new US Senator from the state of South Carolina
- 38:16Speaker 3: because doctor Annie Andrews, frankly doesn't stand a chance in
- 38:19Speaker 3: the red state of South Carolina. So it's going to
- 38:21Speaker 3: be either Darlene Graham Nordon and Ralph Norman. But do
- 38:24Speaker 3: you realize how brilliant it is the way you put
- 38:27Speaker 3: it when you said a nice lady whose brother died,
- 38:30Speaker 3: Because that's what we know. That's all we know about
- 38:33Speaker 3: Darlene Graham nordone and I'm pretty furious, Hey, podcast language,
- 38:38Speaker 3: I'm pissed off that our pal Joey Hudson got fired
- 38:42Speaker 3: from tomorrow night's debate. And you want to know why,
- 38:44Speaker 3: let me tell you why. As Joey explained on my
- 38:47Speaker 3: show earlier today, because the Graham campaign doesn't like Newsmax.
- 38:52Speaker 3: The debate tomorrow night at the Newberry Opera House in Newbury,
- 38:55Speaker 3: South Carolina, between Darlene Graham Nordon and Ralph Norman. Is
- 39:00Speaker 3: gonna be broadcast on Newsmax. Well, the Gram people don't
- 39:03Speaker 3: like Newsmax. They've been a new mean to Darwen. They've
- 39:07Speaker 3: been kind of mean to her. So now so now
- 39:10Speaker 3: they said, bring in public television. We're gonna make you
- 39:14Speaker 3: simulcast this with something called ETV. Now ETV is South
- 39:18Speaker 3: Carolina's PBS, all right, that's the statewide public television. Ain't
- 39:23Speaker 3: exactly a stalwart of conservatism, right, so you and the
- 39:28Speaker 3: only way the Gram campaign would agree to the debate
- 39:32Speaker 3: is under those conditions. Bringing ETV. Of course, bringing an
- 39:35Speaker 3: ETV that means you got to have now one of
- 39:37Speaker 3: the public television anchors, which means Joey Hudson, who was
- 39:41Speaker 3: all re already scheduled, he had been invited, all set
- 39:44Speaker 3: to go, he gets kicked to the curb. He's fired,
- 39:47Speaker 3: he gets bounced, and it's ridiculous and it's it's infuriating.
- 39:51Speaker 3: But you know something, and it's way bigger than just Joey.
- 39:54Speaker 3: I kept thinking of you pointing out how wrong it's
- 39:58Speaker 3: just the goofy. This is what the goofiest political stories
- 40:01Speaker 3: we've ever seen.
- 40:02Speaker 2: The we don't if you are you know you're talking
- 40:04Speaker 2: about if yours are on Mom Dannie, maybe you don't
- 40:06Speaker 2: bust out Amandarin Chinese. If you are Darlene Graham's side,
- 40:09Speaker 2: and there's heavy suspicion that people think that you're a
- 40:13Speaker 2: an establishment trojan horse of GOP squishery, then the last
- 40:19Speaker 2: thing you do is alienate Newsmax viewers and try to
- 40:22Speaker 2: soften up the debate stage for your candidate.
- 40:24Speaker 3: Well, apparently she if she can't, somebody just pointed out, uh,
- 40:28Speaker 3: the obvious. If she can't handle Newsmax, what's how's she
- 40:32Speaker 3: gonna handle the Democrats? Yeah, how about Chuck Schumer. You're
- 40:35Speaker 3: gonna she's gonna will like a flower out there. Look
- 40:39Speaker 3: but look pulling Trump has endorsed her. Now that's another mystery.
- 40:45Speaker 3: I know what the heck is up with that?
- 40:47Speaker 2: I mean, what the heck wanted to be nice to
- 40:50Speaker 2: Lindsey so check he loves but Ralph Norman is the
- 40:53Speaker 2: real proven conservative hearing and Norman loves Trump, and Trump
- 40:57Speaker 2: loves Norman.
- 40:58Speaker 3: I and and do I dare do I dare make
- 41:01Speaker 3: a prediction that he's gonna do what he did to
- 41:02Speaker 3: Pamela Evitt, the dual endorsement, endorse them, the dual endorsement
- 41:07Speaker 3: he's gonna say after the debate tomorrow night. I mean,
- 41:10Speaker 3: because he's got to be getting the fallout. I can't
- 41:12Speaker 3: mention her name without this ton of pushback saying she
- 41:15Speaker 3: could be another Lisa Murkowski. We can't roll the dice.
- 41:19Speaker 3: This is too important a position. If that gets to trump,
- 41:22Speaker 3: you mark my words later this week, because because the
- 41:25Speaker 3: runoff is neck a week from tomorrow.
- 41:26Speaker 2: It's a week from tomorrow. And speaking of Nostradamis's predictions,
- 41:29Speaker 2: are you still fused to the one you made with
- 41:31Speaker 2: me right here on this podcast, guaranteeing her win by
- 41:34Speaker 2: a comfortable margin.
- 41:37Speaker 3: No, I'm not not. Now it's gonna I mean I
- 41:39Speaker 3: don't think so, not by a comfortable margin. She might win,
- 41:42Speaker 3: but I don't think she'll win comfortably because people are
- 41:45Speaker 3: furious at this, and it's and it's mystified. Well you
- 41:49Speaker 3: said it as a Texan. If it's if you have
- 41:52Speaker 3: the choice, you're gonna go be from the nice lady
- 41:56Speaker 3: whose brother died, right, And.
- 41:58Speaker 2: It's funny and I'll even be nice, It'll even be
- 42:01Speaker 2: more magnanimous to her. A woman of substance, a woman
- 42:04Speaker 2: of achievement. She is a solid citizen, and I don't
- 42:08Speaker 2: have a whole lot of red flags pouring off her necessarily.
- 42:11Speaker 2: She's been saying some good things, standing for some good things.
- 42:14Speaker 2: But Ralph Norman is a proven congressional conservative and she's not,
- 42:19Speaker 2: and that to me makes it an easy choice.
- 42:22Speaker 3: It's not a tough choice. So anyway, I wanted to
- 42:24Speaker 3: give you an update on that. And finally, one bit
- 42:27Speaker 3: of news out of Greenville, South Carolina, my kind of
- 42:29Speaker 3: home away from home. I love it there. You know,
- 42:32Speaker 3: there's a number of people over the years who have
- 42:36Speaker 3: moved there because of listening to the Mike Gallagher Show.
- 42:39Speaker 3: What yeah, oh yeah, Chamber of Wers Mike, Wow, no kidding,
- 42:44Speaker 3: I mean, well is awesome, It's incredible. Ah, Greenville has exploded,
- 42:49Speaker 3: Sparnberg's doing great, Anderson it's a beautiful area, the mountains,
- 42:53Speaker 3: it's it's a great place to raise your kids, a
- 42:54Speaker 3: great place to retire to. And there's just some tragic
- 42:58Speaker 3: news out of Greenville. And it turns out I have
- 43:01Speaker 3: a friend of a friend, kind of a connection to
- 43:04Speaker 3: this beautiful young actress, Hayden Pantier, who died Sunday afternoon
- 43:11Speaker 3: at the age of thirty six. She lived, and she
- 43:14Speaker 3: was staying in a and I know this community, a
- 43:18Speaker 3: beautiful luxury apartment complex called I think it's called Judson
- 43:23Speaker 3: Judson Mill Lofts. And she dated, she had an on again,
- 43:28Speaker 3: off again relationship with a young man in Greenville, and
- 43:33Speaker 3: I know that family. And so she was apparently there
- 43:38Speaker 3: because of her on again, off again relationship. Now she
- 43:41Speaker 3: had eleven year old child who's now left without a
- 43:45Speaker 3: mother with another guy that I think he's from Ukraine.
- 43:49Speaker 3: I think he's the Eastern European.
- 43:50Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 43:51Speaker 3: I don't know who he is exactly. But but the
- 43:54Speaker 3: point is she apparently lived a very you know, tortured life.
- 43:58Speaker 3: She was a star one of Nashville Bill She was
- 44:02Speaker 3: in Heroes. She was a kid, She was a child
- 44:04Speaker 3: actress and began blossomed into this beautiful, talented, accomplished young actress,
- 44:09Speaker 3: but made no secret of her problems with addiction. And
- 44:13Speaker 3: I don't know if you heard the news today, Mark,
- 44:15Speaker 3: but earlier today it was revealed that on the nine
- 44:18Speaker 3: to one one dispatch, the audio has been released to
- 44:21Speaker 3: TMZ and one of the first responders on the scene
- 44:25Speaker 3: used the word overdose, so that's probably what happened. It
- 44:29Speaker 3: was probably maybe an accidental overdose, and that happens sadly
- 44:34Speaker 3: to people who are addicts far too often.
- 44:37Speaker 2: My friend, never know what's going on in somebody else's life,
- 44:40Speaker 2: how charmed it may seem, how fortunate they may seem,
- 44:42Speaker 2: the blessings they have, and they can have all those blessings,
- 44:44Speaker 2: but it doesn't mean that everything everything is always say no,
- 44:48Speaker 2: there's a friend for all those is something we've got
- 44:50Speaker 2: to do today, by which I said, so, here's how
- 44:52Speaker 2: going to package it and see if it works for you. Sure,
- 44:55Speaker 2: last words we speak will involve a lightning one two
- 44:59Speaker 2: of movie review use. Okay, we may have some disagreement
- 45:02Speaker 2: on but before we do that, let's do something I'm
- 45:05Speaker 2: sure we will agree about. It's a little bit thing
- 45:07Speaker 2: from the popular culture in the book world. I've heard
- 45:10Speaker 2: you talk about it, and we have to get to
- 45:11Speaker 2: talk about it, and I can't wait to consume it.
- 45:13Speaker 2: A little thing getting ready Carbon zero by an author
- 45:16Speaker 2: from Craig Standfill. If AI is on your mind and
- 45:19Speaker 2: it needs to be This is a magnificent story that's
- 45:22Speaker 2: based on what if where we all headed? AI is
- 45:26Speaker 2: moving faster than a lot of us have imagined, So
- 45:28Speaker 2: what might happen? How could this go wrong? Carbon Zero
- 45:31Speaker 2: apparently tackles that with great skill.
- 45:33Speaker 3: AI pioneer Craig w Stanfhil has offered the author this
- 45:37Speaker 3: and we're going to bring him on the podcast because
- 45:39Speaker 3: you and I are both so jazzed about this book
- 45:42Speaker 3: Carbon Zero, that we want to interview Craig in the book,
- 45:45Speaker 3: the story is a seemingly harmless instruction to an advanced
- 45:50Speaker 3: AI sets off a chain of events that are devastating.
- 45:54Speaker 3: It is a page turner that you're going to love.
- 45:57Speaker 3: You won't be able to put it down. If you
- 45:59Speaker 3: love book books like Mark and I do that make
- 46:01Speaker 3: you think as much as they entertain, you're going to
- 46:03Speaker 3: want to check out Carbon Zero, and we're going to
- 46:06Speaker 3: be telling you an awful lot about this great book
- 46:08Speaker 3: in the weeks and months to come. You can pre

- 46:28Speaker 3: Zero by Craig w Stand Phil. You're gonna love it,
- 46:31Speaker 3: and you're gonna meet Craig and we're gonna spend some
- 46:33Speaker 3: time on this book in the weeks to come, mark
- 46:35Speaker 3: because people are going.
- 46:36Speaker 5: To love this.
- 46:36Speaker 3: I can't wait die. I want to get your feedback
- 46:39Speaker 3: because I finished it a week or so ago. It
- 46:41Speaker 3: is fantastic.
- 46:42Speaker 2: I'm going to consume it. And it's funny because some
- 46:44Speaker 2: of the best speculative fiction can take a look at
- 46:47Speaker 2: things that people really are thinking about, worried about, concerned about,
- 46:50Speaker 2: and saying, Okay, what if this happens? So can't wait
- 46:53Speaker 2: to do Carbon Zero? Everybody, go get it now. Speaking
- 46:55Speaker 2: of the things we consume, so let me tell this
- 46:57Speaker 2: chronologically and give you anupdate and see what your reaction is.
- 47:00Speaker 2: I love the Twilight Zony weird things happening to normal
- 47:03Speaker 2: people kind of thing, kind of back when I used
- 47:05Speaker 2: to be able to tolerate Stephen King, he was good
- 47:07Speaker 2: at writing stuff like this. So I hear about this
- 47:11Speaker 2: thing called the Last House where people in a neighborhood
- 47:14Speaker 2: all of a sudden they can't get out of their houses,
- 47:16Speaker 2: and I go, oh, I need to see that. Mike
- 47:18Speaker 2: sees it says it's terrible, so terrible, I couldn't even
- 47:20Speaker 2: finish it. So it's like living room. I'll have to
- 47:24Speaker 2: do that at some point. But before getting to that, meanwhile,
- 47:27Speaker 2: I see a real movie in a real theater and
- 47:31Speaker 2: it has In Halfaway and Ewan McGregor, and it's a
- 47:35Speaker 2: thing called The End of Oak Street where an entire
- 47:38Speaker 2: neighborhood is suddenly transplanted. The preview, the trailer shows this
- 47:44Speaker 2: entire neighborhood is suddenly somewhere else, somewhere else in the world,
- 47:49Speaker 2: somewhere else in time. So I figured my expectations are high.
- 47:52Speaker 2: The reviews for that have been pretty good. So we
- 47:54Speaker 2: go in, Lisa and I go to that on Friday night.
- 47:56Speaker 2: It's one of the dumbest things I've ever seen, but
- 48:00Speaker 2: I need you to see it now so you can
- 48:02Speaker 2: tell me if I'm right. It's not horrible, but it's goofy.
- 48:06Speaker 2: Some of the shock moments were actually laughter inducing. It's like,
- 48:10Speaker 2: what did you and McGregor and Anne Hathaway have car payments?
- 48:13Speaker 2: What are they doing? And people are going, oh, it's
- 48:15Speaker 2: very Spielbergie.
- 48:17Speaker 3: No it's not.
- 48:18Speaker 2: It just struck me as cut.
- 48:19Speaker 3: Now wait a minute, So why are you going to
- 48:21Speaker 3: want me to go to a movie that you already
- 48:23Speaker 3: say is.
- 48:23Speaker 2: Stupid because of what I'm about to tell you. Because
- 48:27Speaker 2: we then come home and later in the weekend we go, okay,
- 48:33Speaker 2: I just may not take long. We're going to start
- 48:36Speaker 2: Last House, and I'm going to see if it strikes
- 48:39Speaker 2: me as similarly horrible where I bail on it? Well,
- 48:42Speaker 2: Lisa and I both watched it, and if maybe as
- 48:45Speaker 2: a kind of a dual exercise, where's it? Because you
- 48:47Speaker 2: told me in a movie that's about an hour forty
- 48:50Speaker 2: that you stayed with it for an hour or an
- 48:52Speaker 2: hour ten before you had had enough. So I was
- 48:55Speaker 2: trying to find the point at which you were sufficiently repelled.
- 49:00Speaker 2: Not only did I not not only did we not
- 49:02Speaker 2: find it, we kind of dug it.
- 49:07Speaker 3: Kind of.
- 49:08Speaker 2: Really, it's it's a it's an expectations game, end of
- 49:11Speaker 2: Oak Street, expectations high, they were not met. You drove
- 49:15Speaker 2: the expectations of this thing into the the ditch for me,
- 49:19Speaker 2: And it's a kind of a slow burn. The point
- 49:22Speaker 2: here is people can't get out of their house.
- 49:24Speaker 3: You if it, well, you.
- 49:25Speaker 2: Didn't, I guess did you do? You feel like you
- 49:27Speaker 2: know why? And again no spoilers, what well?
- 49:30Speaker 1: Why not?
- 49:31Speaker 3: Because I'm almost interested to know what the ending is?
- 49:34Speaker 5: Let me do that.
- 49:35Speaker 3: No, well but so. But but the reason I want
- 49:37Speaker 3: to know is because what I read online is that
- 49:39Speaker 3: the ending is stupider than the movie. And it was
- 49:41Speaker 3: a stupid ending. It was unsatisfying. Apparently the ending was
- 49:45Speaker 3: ridiculous and implausible and dumb, and everything about.
- 49:49Speaker 2: The ending was lausible. It's all of sci fi.
- 49:53Speaker 3: Well, you got to suspend disbelief. But even even for
- 49:55Speaker 3: that level, was the ending stupid.
- 49:59Speaker 2: It's a heavy lift, the heavy left. But I was
- 50:02Speaker 2: on board. I cared, I was willing to go along
- 50:06Speaker 2: with it, and I and there's the Brazilian actor Wagner
- 50:10Speaker 2: Mora is in there.
- 50:12Speaker 3: But our friendship is over. That's it. That's just the
- 50:15Speaker 3: last day of M and M extra. We're done.
- 50:17Speaker 2: We can't Citizen Kane. But I thought I thought it

- 51:08Speaker 2: not necessarily about whether something is objectively great or objectively sucks.
- 51:12Speaker 2: It's did you care? And if there have been some
- 51:15Speaker 2: great movies, some pretty great movies everybody loved, I just

- 51:35Speaker 3: but I will end with my ode to ethel Mermon.

- 52:19Speaker 3: I wanted them to die. I wanted them all to die.
