- 0:23Speaker 2: in your joy.
- 0:24Speaker 3: Well, I'm feeling good because I'm becoming more and more
- 0:28Speaker 3: convinced that we are going to get through this winter
- 0:31Speaker 3: without any paralyzing snow.
- 0:32Speaker 2: And now we've all been jinks collectively as a community. DMB.
- 0:36Speaker 2: Thanks for saying that out loud, Chilli.
- 0:38Speaker 3: Well, I'm just saying the chances, you know, are slimming down.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Maybe we'll get something, but it's not gonna anyway. I'll
- 0:46Speaker 3: leave it at that.
- 0:47Speaker 2: I'm hopeful because you know, I'm I don't want some
- 0:50Speaker 2: obstacles and challenges personally.
- 0:52Speaker 3: And I said paralyzing snow that means like so much
- 0:55Speaker 3: snow that everything shuts down for days at a time.
- 0:59Speaker 2: Like you know that Blizz we had that. Yeah, Lord
- 1:04Speaker 2: of Mercy, welly, hopefully please pray that it doesn't happen,
- 1:09Speaker 2: because we need to counteract the karma that Chili might
- 1:11Speaker 2: have just set into motion.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Me.
- 1:13Speaker 2: I'm happy because Chili, you know, you and I were
- 1:16Speaker 2: talking off the air about, you know, my significant other.
- 1:18Speaker 2: She's in Europe on business and work, and well we
- 1:23Speaker 2: communicated last night via WhatsApp.
- 1:26Speaker 3: Oh that's nice, nice and free.
- 1:28Speaker 2: Yeah.

- 1:34Speaker 2: can just put it on the phone mode. And like
- 1:37Speaker 2: you said, the best thing about it is it's free
- 1:39Speaker 2: for her and well, like I mean, I guess I'm
- 1:41Speaker 2: just using Wi Fi for me. But it's little things
- 1:44Speaker 2: like that when you know she's half a world away. Yeah,
- 1:48Speaker 2: you know, just to be able to take a second
- 1:49Speaker 2: and have a conversation and to say, hey, I love
- 1:52Speaker 2: you and I hope you're okay, come home soon because
- 1:54Speaker 2: I miss you, and on the dogs. You know, it's

- 4:52Speaker 2: to do a deep dive and start going down YouTube
- 4:54Speaker 2: rabbit holes and Wikipedia. But Carol says, and this I
- 4:59Speaker 2: thought it's important for today. Growth looks a lot like
- 5:04Speaker 2: discomfort in disguise. Growth looks a lot like discomfort in disguise.
- 5:10Speaker 2: Think about it, and whenever you've had a teachable moment,
- 5:12Speaker 2: a growth moment, it's not always easy. If it feels
- 5:16Speaker 2: awkward or tough, that's good why because it means you're evolving.

- 5:27Speaker 2: promise you. Growth looks a lot like discomfort in disguise,
- 5:31Speaker 2: Carol dwec that's your morning mindset for today. Get some

- 5:42Speaker 2: can also find Carol Dweck's quote today too if you
- 5:46Speaker 2: know somebody who might need it. Stay with Toby and
- 5:48Speaker 2: Chilly in the Morning because coming up in just a
- 5:50Speaker 2: few minutes, Chilly, what are we looking at?
- 5:51Speaker 3: Well, I've got a new health and wellness obsession.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Oh lord, I know I meant to tell you something
- 5:58Speaker 2: about that. Ever since we talked about that off the
- 6:00Speaker 2: air the other day, do you know what I've been
- 6:01Speaker 2: getting bombarded with? Yeah, ads about it, ads about it.
- 6:05Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 6:05Speaker 3: I'm going to tell you what it is and how
- 6:07Speaker 3: it's sort of really benefited our lives, not just mine,
- 6:12Speaker 3: but my son's. Coming up in just a few minutes.
- 6:14Speaker 3: As Toby and Chilly in the Morning continues on ninety
- 6:16Speaker 3: seven point one, wash I.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Fund all right, Spilits, tell everybody what we were talking
- 6:24Speaker 2: about just a few minutes ago, that you got for
- 6:26Speaker 2: your family. Toby and Chilly in the Morning. It's ninety
- 6:28Speaker 2: seven point one wash FM chili Omar take it away.
- 6:32Speaker 3: It's for health and wellness and it's a vibration plate.
- 6:35Speaker 3: These are something that you stand on and well, it
- 6:39Speaker 3: vibrates and it has different frequency and there are a
- 6:43Speaker 3: lot of good benefits for it. I will say I
- 6:45Speaker 3: initially bought one because my son who goes to occupational
- 6:49Speaker 3: therapy for his ADHD and also for autism. But it's
- 6:55Speaker 3: really great for deep sensory input and for emotional regulation.
- 7:01Speaker 2: That's good to know.
- 7:02Speaker 3: It helps calm him down when he goes on that thing.
- 7:05Speaker 2: They call it the power plate at this gym. I
- 7:07Speaker 2: used to be a member of Bethesda and I used
- 7:09Speaker 2: to have to do things on that because you can
- 7:11Speaker 2: do a lot of exercises with them. They call it
- 7:13Speaker 2: the power plate or whatever.
- 7:15Speaker 3: I mean, it's just h vibration plate. So I started
- 7:19Speaker 3: using it because well, we paid money for it, and
- 7:22Speaker 3: there are a lot of benefits and I learned and
- 7:24Speaker 3: I'm using it for protecting bone density, and this is
- 7:28Speaker 3: especially important for people of a certain age, especially if
- 7:31Speaker 3: your post menopausal. It helps preserve your muscle and strength.
- 7:34Speaker 3: It's great for workout recovery if your muscles are sore.
- 7:37Speaker 3: It improves your balance and stability. I mean, there's so
- 7:41Speaker 3: many great benefits to it. And what I'm also finding
- 7:44Speaker 3: is when I have really low energy days, which is
- 7:47Speaker 3: a lot because of our schedule, it boosts my energy.
- 7:50Speaker 3: I get off that and it's almost like getting a
- 7:52Speaker 3: second wind.
- 7:53Speaker 2: That's what my trainer, Aria Farzan used to say. He
- 7:56Speaker 2: used to be like, we do this first because it
- 7:58Speaker 2: activates all of your muscle groups, right, literally all of them,
- 8:02Speaker 2: and then we would go back to that power play
- 8:04Speaker 2: and that's when he would make me plank and I
- 8:06Speaker 2: had a disdain for that power plank. Vibrating plate thing
- 8:11Speaker 2: that is incredible.
- 8:12Speaker 3: So I'm hoping that we continue to use it and
- 8:15Speaker 3: it doesn't just become like another piece of equipment that
- 8:17Speaker 3: you throw clothes on.
- 8:18Speaker 2: Well, that's amazing that your occupational therapists said to use
- 8:22Speaker 2: that for your son. That is I never thought of that. Yeah, wow,
- 8:26Speaker 2: good stuff. Well, put a link to where we can
- 8:29Speaker 2: buy one of these Amazon, I'm sure and some other
- 8:31Speaker 2: places on the Tobya chilipage at washfm dot com. And
- 8:34Speaker 2: continued success to you as you do the vibrating plate thing. Yes,

- 11:38Speaker 2: a resolution to save some more money? Have you heard
- 11:41Speaker 2: about this? They call it the Stranger test? And apparently
- 11:45Speaker 2: this test will help you save How We'll stay there,
- 11:50Speaker 2: it'll make sense in a few minutes, and if you
- 11:53Speaker 2: have some tips on how you plan to save money,
- 11:56Speaker 2: call us right now at eight sixty six nine two

- 12:13Speaker 2: watch FM. How you planning on doing so? Have you
- 12:17Speaker 2: heard of this stranger test?
- 12:19Speaker 3: It's ten seconds?
- 12:21Speaker 2: That's it, that's it. Tell us more.
- 12:24Speaker 3: Well, a lot of us are impulsive buyers, right. We'll
- 12:26Speaker 3: see something, we want it, and we click and purchase it,
- 12:29Speaker 3: and then we have regret or remorse. So the ten
- 12:32Speaker 3: second stranger test is this. You have to ask yourself
- 12:35Speaker 3: if you had a stranger standing in front of you,
- 12:38Speaker 3: holding the product you're about to buy in one hand
- 12:41Speaker 3: or the cash equivalent in the other, would you still
- 12:44Speaker 3: take the product or would you say give me that
- 12:46Speaker 3: money instead? And so anytime you pause and go, oh, well, no,
- 12:50Speaker 3: I think I'd rather have the money, then clearly that
- 12:53Speaker 3: is something you don't need or truly want.
- 12:56Speaker 2: I need to keep that in mind next time I'm
- 12:58Speaker 2: at best Buy, because that's where I do impulsive buys
- 13:01Speaker 2: of stuff that I don't really need. I eat tech,
- 13:05Speaker 2: but no, I can't say no, but in reality I should,
- 13:08Speaker 2: because well, money doesn't grow on trees.
- 13:11Speaker 3: Is there a plan you have in place to save
- 13:13Speaker 3: money this year?
- 13:14Speaker 2: Yep? Actually cooking it home and eating the food I
- 13:17Speaker 2: buy at the grocery store before it goes bad in
- 13:19Speaker 2: the fridge. I can't tell you how wasteful it is,
- 13:22Speaker 2: and I feel guilt, but it's my own fault that
- 13:25Speaker 2: I just don't do it or I put it off.
- 13:28Speaker 2: Why because it's easier for me to have Uber Eats
- 13:30Speaker 2: deliver or for us to go out and pick something up.
- 13:32Speaker 3: No bueno, Yeah, that's true. Cooking it home definitely saves money.
- 13:36Speaker 2: What about you?
- 13:36Speaker 3: We're going to continue to take advantage of the group
- 13:40Speaker 3: on for family activities. Oh that's right, because on the
- 13:43Speaker 3: weekends we like to do stuff as a family, whether
- 13:45Speaker 3: it's going bowling or going to indoor play areas or whatever.
- 13:49Speaker 3: And don't forget there are some really good deals on there.
- 13:52Speaker 3: You gotta just look for them.
- 13:53Speaker 2: Cheeze chilliam r for group On. So how do you
- 13:56Speaker 2: plan on saving money in twenty twenty six? Call us
- 14:00Speaker 2: ninety three six. Do you want especially if you've made
- 14:02Speaker 2: it a resolution, are you giving anything up? Are you
- 14:05Speaker 2: cutting back? Regardless, we would love to hear your story.
- 14:08Speaker 2: You can also tap the talk back microphone and tell
- 14:10Speaker 2: us what's going on. We will get back to this
- 14:12Speaker 2: coming up in minutes with Toby and Chilly in the morning. Now,
- 14:15Speaker 2: if you missed it, we were talking about something called
- 14:18Speaker 2: these stranger tests a few minutes ago. It'll help you
- 14:21Speaker 2: save some money. In this twenty twenty six brand new Year,
- 14:24Speaker 2: Toby and Chilly in the Morning on ninety seven point
- 14:26Speaker 2: one wasch FM. So if you missed it.
- 14:28Speaker 3: To recap, all you have to do is think about
- 14:30Speaker 3: a stranger standing in front of you holding the product
- 14:33Speaker 3: you're about to buy or the cash equivalent of that product,
- 14:37Speaker 3: and which one would you take?
- 14:38Speaker 2: Do I want that new Macintosh computer or do I
- 14:43Speaker 2: want the money that that mac is worth? Mmmmm very interesting.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Never thought of this. So how do you plan on
- 14:51Speaker 2: saving money in twenty twenty six? We talked a little
- 14:54Speaker 2: bit ago on some things that we plan to do,
- 14:56Speaker 2: and now we would like to turn the floor over
- 14:59Speaker 2: to you. Six nine seven forty three sixty one Tap

- 15:08Speaker 2: save some money in twenty twenty six. Alex, thank you
- 15:12Speaker 2: for listening to us right now in Fort Washington. So
- 15:15Speaker 2: what's your plan? How are you going to save that money?
- 15:17Speaker 4: I have to start shopping smart.
- 15:18Speaker 3: What do you mean by that?
- 15:19Speaker 5: You know, looking for deals and coupons and things like that.
- 15:23Speaker 2: I don't always have to have the most expensive product
- 15:26Speaker 2: out there. I get that. But you know they say
- 15:28Speaker 2: you get what you pay for. Sometimes there is quality
- 15:31Speaker 2: behind something that costs a bit more.
- 15:33Speaker 3: I still think you're really just paying for a brand name,
- 15:36Speaker 3: and I don't think there's that much difference for most products.
- 15:39Speaker 2: Fair point Toby at Chilly in the morning at ninety
- 15:41Speaker 2: seven point one was chef M Miranda, good morning and

- 15:53Speaker 5: want takeout now, I got to redownload, log in and
- 15:56Speaker 5: face myself. And that extra effort saved me like three
- 15:59Speaker 5: hundred dollars a month.
- 16:00Speaker 3: Whoa three hundred dollars? Did you hear that?
- 16:03Speaker 2: Toby here?

- 21:22Speaker 3: Are you the type of person who looks at the
- 21:25Speaker 3: medical test results before a doctor reviews them?
- 21:29Speaker 2: Are you you snoop? We're gonna talk about it coming
- 21:32Speaker 2: up in minutes eight sixty six, nine two, seven forty
- 21:35Speaker 2: three sixty one to get involved. Can't wait to hear
- 21:38Speaker 2: what you have to say in a few When it
- 21:40Speaker 2: comes to blood work, you know, medical screenings, tests and whatnot,
- 21:45Speaker 2: do you peak at the results when they come back
- 21:48Speaker 2: from like the lab? You know, because they notify you
- 21:51Speaker 2: that your lab results are in Toby at Chilly in
- 21:53Speaker 2: the morning. Ninety seven point one was CHEFM. Do you
- 21:55Speaker 2: peak before the doctor has a chance to look at it?
- 21:57Speaker 2: And explain it because doctors are doctors, and well, you
- 22:00Speaker 2: may not be a doctor. What have you learned, Chilli?
- 22:03Speaker 2: There are many facets to that question. Yeah, I will
- 22:06Speaker 2: say that I'm holding my blood tests in my hand, right, Yeah.
- 22:09Speaker 3: Well you get weekly blood work now as you're going
- 22:12Speaker 3: through this infection phase of your knee, and yeah all that.
- 22:15Speaker 3: So yeah, yeah, you're definitely a peaker.
- 22:17Speaker 2: Then I start to freak out internally.
- 22:19Speaker 3: Well, that's the downside of looking at the blood work
- 22:23Speaker 3: results in a portal before a doctor has a chance
- 22:27Speaker 3: to answer any of your questions.
- 22:29Speaker 2: Yes, you sound just like my doctors. He's like, oh,
- 22:31Speaker 2: so now you're a doctor with chat, GPT and Google
- 22:34Speaker 2: and I'm like, no, ma'am, I'm sorry. I'm trying not
- 22:37Speaker 2: to be curious.
- 22:38Speaker 3: I only peak when I feel confident that it's going
- 22:40Speaker 3: to be okay. I don't like to peak when I'm
- 22:44Speaker 3: nervous about what the results may be, because I don't
- 22:47Speaker 3: want to sit with a question mark for too long
- 22:50Speaker 3: before the doctor answers any questions.
- 22:53Speaker 2: See, I'm just the opposite. I'll peak and I'll try
- 22:55Speaker 2: to do what you just said, but then I will
- 22:58Speaker 2: die everything. I'll find YouTube videos Oh, then I'll walk
- 23:03Speaker 2: into the doctor's office armed with all of this half
- 23:06Speaker 2: cocked knowledge and I'm like, uh huh, well, I was
- 23:08Speaker 2: noticing that my A one C and my mahemacrit hemoglobin level.
- 23:15Speaker 3: Look, there's an advantage in here. Here's how at least
- 23:18Speaker 3: you will know what questions to ask instead of having
- 23:21Speaker 3: results sprung on you in the moment and not knowing.
- 23:25Speaker 2: To ask knowledge. When you peak, it's a blessing and
- 23:28Speaker 2: a curse. What will you choose? Eight sixty six nine
- 23:32Speaker 2: two seven three sixty one. That's good question when it
- 23:34Speaker 2: comes to like blood work test results, do you look
- 23:37Speaker 2: at the results before the doctor can interpret them for you?
- 23:40Speaker 2: Or do you wait? What if you found out? What
- 23:42Speaker 2: have you learned? We're listening, jump into the conversation. We'll

- 26:38Speaker 2: the doctor order some blood work, the results come to
- 26:41Speaker 2: you before you talk to the doctor. You've already gone
- 26:44Speaker 2: over it, googled it, put it through chad GPT. So

- 26:50Speaker 2: Eight six six nineteen seven forty three sixty one? But
- 26:52Speaker 2: first let's go to talk back.
- 26:54Speaker 4: Hi, Toby and Chili.
- 26:55Speaker 8: My name is Julanda from Annandale, Virginia, and I'll look
- 26:58Speaker 8: at my lab results in anymore, not since a few
- 27:01Speaker 8: years ago I took a peek.
- 27:02Speaker 4: And my cholesterol was hut.
- 27:04Speaker 8: And I'm a paranoid person as it is, So I
- 27:07Speaker 8: spent the whole night tulson a turn and just convinced
- 27:10Speaker 8: I was going to up and bab a heart attack.
- 27:12Speaker 8: Then they talked to my doctor the next day and
- 27:14Speaker 8: he's like, well, it's not that big of a deal.
- 27:16Speaker 8: Just lay off the dairy a little bit and you
- 27:18Speaker 8: should be fine. So since they had a habit looks.
- 27:21Speaker 8: Because I don't want to drive myself crazy, I wait
- 27:24Speaker 8: for a doctor.
- 27:25Speaker 3: Toby, you should take you Landa's advice, you have to
- 27:28Speaker 3: stop looking at all your blood results too soon.
- 27:31Speaker 2: All right, moving right along. Good morning, Carol, Welcome to
- 27:35Speaker 2: Toby at Chilly in the morning. Where do you live, by.

- 27:41Speaker 2: Well, welcome. So you have some thoughts, go right ahead,
- 27:44Speaker 2: share with the class.
- 27:45Speaker 6: I do look at results when they come in and
- 27:48Speaker 6: my chart just to know what's going on, and I
- 27:51Speaker 6: trust that my doctor will get in touch with me
- 27:53Speaker 6: if there's something that's urgent.
- 27:55Speaker 3: Okay, but have you ever seen something that made you go,
- 27:58Speaker 3: oh and maybe cause some anxiet and then you start
- 28:01Speaker 3: going to rabbit holes when the number is red?
- 28:06Speaker 6: Yeah, absolutely, then I will start to Google and see
- 28:09Speaker 6: what it is. Every time it's turned out to be
- 28:13Speaker 6: not a non event, right, So it kind of teaches
- 28:16Speaker 6: me that I don't know everything and that Google's not
- 28:19Speaker 6: going to give me all the answers.
- 28:20Speaker 3: That's right, That's why I go to the doctor. Do
- 28:23Speaker 3: you miss the days Carol when they didn't used to
- 28:25Speaker 3: upload that stuff ahead of time and we actually had
- 28:28Speaker 3: to wait for the doctor or are you a fan
- 28:31Speaker 3: of this?
- 28:32Speaker 6: Even though I can set myself in a little bit
- 28:34Speaker 6: of a spin. I like to know because they generally
- 28:37Speaker 6: come out.
- 28:38Speaker 2: Okay, Carol, let me tell you something. If you go
- 28:40Speaker 2: to chat GPT and you ask it just like you did,
- 28:44Speaker 2: and it spits out these answers that cause more questions,
- 28:47Speaker 2: it's kind of fascinating. You should try it next time
- 28:49Speaker 2: you have a blood test.
- 28:50Speaker 6: Yeah, I've done that. But you know what, I know
- 28:52Speaker 6: a lot more about my health because I do that
- 28:55Speaker 6: than when I didn't know what was going on.
- 28:57Speaker 4: So I know what a BUN number is and I
- 28:59Speaker 4: didn't know that before.
