- 1:32Speaker 1: hear to believe. Then grab your popcorn because there is more.
- 1:35Speaker 1: And don't get me wrong, I have got all the
- 1:41Speaker 1: crazy people out there making the crazy statements I could
- 1:46Speaker 1: play for you.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Representative Acasia Cortes on Stephen Miller.
- 1:50Speaker 1: I can h share with you as I did Chris
- 1:53Speaker 1: Hayes flat out lying, misrepresenting the story of what took
- 1:57Speaker 1: place in Minneapolis. In all of these stories that I
- 2:04Speaker 1: could share with you, there is a theme.
- 2:06Speaker 2: There is a connection point.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Which is not a bug but a feature of the progressivism.
- 2:14Speaker 1: I make no quarrels if people are new to the show, Hey,
- 2:17Speaker 1: Tony Kats, how are you you look great today? I'm
- 2:19Speaker 1: a conservative and I apologize for nothing. I make my
- 2:23Speaker 1: arguments here. I bring data. I explain why I believe
- 2:27Speaker 1: what I believe, and people can agree and disagree, and
- 2:29Speaker 1: there it's at. But I am not a progressive and
- 2:32Speaker 1: I have no interest in progressivism because they are not
- 2:35Speaker 1: rooted in reason.
- 2:37Speaker 2: There is nothing logical happening here. You often hear me
- 2:40Speaker 2: use words like rational.
- 2:43Speaker 1: And it's it's you know, it's it becomes one of
- 2:46Speaker 1: these things of how many times can he say it
- 2:47Speaker 1: in a show.
- 2:48Speaker 2: It's like kitten or booboo or sugar smack. I've never
- 2:53Speaker 2: said sugar smack before. But that's not coming.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Reason matters, rationality matters. And so I was thrilled to
- 3:04Speaker 1: be going through. Posts were coming up on Twitter X
- 3:10Speaker 1: and I caught Melanie Phillips on the Triggeronometry podcast.
- 3:18Speaker 2: No, No, she wasn't on trigonometry, sorry it was.
- 3:20Speaker 1: It was a different podcast she was doing about the
- 3:23Speaker 1: very concepts of reason.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Now I know.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Of Melanie Phillips, I don't consider myself of Melanie Phillips,
- 3:29Speaker 1: expert journalist and an author. She writes The Times of London.
- 3:36Speaker 1: She has a book called Londonistan. This came out in
- 3:39Speaker 1: two thousand and six about the British establishment's capitulation to
- 3:43Speaker 1: Islamist aggression. So you can imagine that some people like
- 3:47Speaker 1: her and don't like her just for that. But I
- 3:50Speaker 1: want to share this with you. This is Melanie Phillips
- 3:55Speaker 1: talking about being in the age of Unreason. Now it's
- 3:59Speaker 1: a long clip, but it's worthy of the time, and
- 4:04Speaker 1: so I bring it to you right now. Are we
- 4:09Speaker 1: in the age of unreason? Now? I've listened to this
- 4:12Speaker 1: quite a few times, Producer Carl, but you can have
- 4:14Speaker 1: your fringer on the dumb button in case I missed
- 4:16Speaker 1: a little something there. I don't think I did. This
- 4:19Speaker 1: is her talking to a guy by the name of
- 4:20Speaker 1: John Anderson.
- 4:22Speaker 3: Truth has become a right wing concept. You cannot say
- 4:26Speaker 3: it because if you say it, you are considered right wing.
- 4:31Speaker 3: And to be right wing is to be in league
- 4:34Speaker 3: with the forces of evil. It is a Manichean division
- 4:40Speaker 3: between ideologies of one kind or another and those who
- 4:48Speaker 3: don't subscribe to those ideologies. And the ideologies brook no
- 4:52Speaker 3: dissent because they represent in the minds of people who
- 4:58Speaker 3: promote them, present goodness, brotherhood of man, progress, reason, education,
- 5:09Speaker 3: and anyone who opposes them is against all good things.
- 5:13Speaker 3: So they are not just wrong, they're not people to
- 5:16Speaker 3: be argued with. They're people to be removed and silenced
- 5:21Speaker 3: because otherwise you're against all good things.
- 5:27Speaker 1: Every single one of you have encountered this in your life,
- 5:31Speaker 1: on your social media feeds. People who do this they
- 5:34Speaker 1: know best. You don't know anything, you don't believe in
- 5:36Speaker 1: anything good. You're the enemy because of any level of disagreement.
- 5:40Speaker 1: And when reason gets brought into the picture, well, that
- 5:44Speaker 1: in and of itself is a problem, as we've discussed
- 5:46Speaker 1: it here, because reason requires thought and if people think,
- 5:49Speaker 1: maybe they'll question their own ideas, and since their ideas
- 5:52Speaker 1: are their religion, it cannot be questioned.
- 5:55Speaker 2: And Melanie Phillips describes this.
- 5:57Speaker 3: So it's that division between.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Good and evil.
- 6:02Speaker 3: And unfortunately, you know, if you stand up against an
- 6:06Speaker 3: ideology like I don't know, so called anti racism, which
- 6:12Speaker 3: basically says all white people are bad, or critical theory,
- 6:17Speaker 3: or you stand up and say a woman is defined
- 6:19Speaker 3: by her biology, who are against transgender so as you know,
- 6:25Speaker 3: there's no discussion, you are canceled you are removed. You
- 6:30Speaker 3: have to be silenced. This dissent cannot be permitted. So
- 6:36Speaker 3: we're in what a thinker of a previous age called
- 6:41Speaker 3: cultural totalitarianism. No alternative is to be permitted. Now, first
- 6:48Speaker 3: of all, that is an assault on individual freedom, freedom
- 6:52Speaker 3: of expression, and freedom.
- 6:54Speaker 1: But as we know, the progressive doesn't believe in individual freedom.
- 6:59Speaker 1: Did or did not Zoronmumdanni, the new mayor of New
- 7:02Speaker 1: York say, and here's inaugural speech. We will remove the
- 7:07Speaker 1: frigidity of individual rugged individualism and replace it with the
- 7:14Speaker 1: warmth of collectivism.
- 7:18Speaker 2: Melanie Phillips tells no lies here.
- 7:20Speaker 3: But it's also a complete repudiation of reason. Because if
- 7:25Speaker 3: you say there is nothing that you can say that
- 7:29Speaker 3: can dissent from my ideology, and you say you're bringing
- 7:33Speaker 3: evidence to oppose me, well that cannot be the case.
- 7:38Speaker 3: If you're denying evidence and reality and thinking and engagement
- 7:45Speaker 3: with an idea, then you're denying reason itself. And so
- 7:49Speaker 3: the irony is that at an age of supposed reason,
- 7:52Speaker 3: we're so rational that we've dispensed with religion. Only idiots
- 7:57Speaker 3: have any kind of religious sense because it's not based
- 8:01Speaker 3: on reason. That's the thinking. So we're so rational, we've
- 8:04Speaker 3: got rid of religion, and yet we are repudiating rationality completely.
- 8:12Speaker 3: This is something that doesn't quite add up.
- 8:15Speaker 2: So I would say.
- 8:16Speaker 3: That we are in a new age of unreason.
- 8:21Speaker 2: That's what we're in.
- 8:22Speaker 3: An age of unreason. That's what we've unleashed. And it's
- 8:25Speaker 3: an irony because we've done it under the aegies of
- 8:28Speaker 3: being rational. But in getting rid of religion, we have
- 8:32Speaker 3: unleashed an age of unreason. And what follows from that
- 8:36Speaker 3: is the erosion of freedom, freedom to think, freedom to speak,
- 8:41Speaker 3: freedom to act, and a complete confusion about where the
- 8:49Speaker 3: limits should be drawn between what I want and what
- 8:54Speaker 3: others need.
- 8:58Speaker 1: She's discussing the fact that Marxism has succeeded on many levels.
- 9:05Speaker 1: That's what she's discussing. She is right, it's nothing that
- 9:09Speaker 1: we haven't discussed here. But sometimes it's good to hear
- 9:12Speaker 1: it from another voice, and usually better to hear it
- 9:14Speaker 1: in a British accent. They're terrible with their policies, but
- 9:17Speaker 1: my gosh, they say it so beautifully.
- 9:21Speaker 2: It is an age of unreason. I swear to you.
- 9:24Speaker 2: That's why we're here to try and bring some reason
- 9:28Speaker 2: to it.
- 9:28Speaker 3: All
